These masks are pretty much everywhere at the moment since they came out about a month ago and I knew that I would want to pick up the Detox mask at least. I am a sucker for face masks to be honest, especially ones that are charcoal based as I find they work the best on my skin.
Not only did L’Oreal come out with the face mask I picked up, but also two others, Purity mask and Glow mask. Of course as I’ve mentioned I picked up the Detox mask.
This face mask pretty much tells you in the name what it’s going to do to the skin. “The charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out impurities and clarify normal, congested skin. The creamy texture of this deep cleansing face mask detoxifies the skin’s surface and works deep into the pores, leaving the skin looking clarified and beautified.”
The packaging for this face mask is really nice and basic, nothing too over the top but nice enough that you can leave this on your bedside table, or on the side in the bathroom. It’s a glass jar which I really liked too as it felt like it was something “expensive” which makes a nice change from sachets and Lush’s plastic black tubs.
You get 50ml of product and a little but of this goes a hell of a long way! I’ve only used this three times so far and it still looks like quite a bit in the jar.
I like to pop this mask on all over my face before I jump into the bath, as it makes it easier to wash off. I leave it on until it dries from a dark grey to a light grey and then I’ll wash it off.
After using this it always leaves my skin looking and feeling soft, smooth, clean and amazing! The pores on my nose aren’t large or noticeable until you look REALLY close up and thus don’t really looked clogged or congested. However, after using this face mask my pores look smaller and cleared! Dane has noticeable blackheads on his nose so I decided to use him as my guinea pig to see if it works on really tough pores. It did to be honest! His pores looked clearly and they’d shrunk a little. We only used it on his nose as he isn’t a massive fan of face masks.
It states that this is for normal and congested skin, but with charcoal face masks I find that they’re always better suited for combination skin, which is what I have. I could get away with just using this on my t-zone, but I love using it all over my face for a weekly treat.
Overall I absolutely love this face mask! To be perfectly honest I really want to buy the other two face masks to try too. Boots currently have these face masks on offer for £5.00 each, instead of £7.99 to introduce them to the store. If you have combination skin like myself this will really help mattify your t-zone! Otherwise I don’t see why anyone can’t give this a go to be honest.
What do you think of the Pure Clay masks? Do you like the look of any in particular? If so which one? Or have you already picked one of these up? Make sure to let me know your thoughts on them in the comments!
Until next time take care all and I hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
This looks really interesting and I haven’t seen any other posts on it. I’m a sucker for a mask so I might have to pick this up from Boots while its on offer.
