How Photobucket Fucked Up and How It’s Affected My Blog

I’m going to pre-warn readers that this is not a happy blog post (as I’m pretty damn sure you can tell from the title), it’s actually a very angry and downright fucking fuming post.

At the time of writing this I finished work two hours ago. Straight away I knew when I sat in my car that I wanted to come home and work on blog work. The norm, right?

I got home, made some important phone calls, made myself some lunch and a cup of tea and sat down to get on with some blog work.

I loaded up my blog to be greeted with this image on the right hand side instead of the black and white picture of myself. I wondered what it could be but came to conclusion, “Oh it’s probably where I’ve used up loads of space on my old Photobucket account!” So I fixed the picture with my new Photobucket account and investigated the matter further.

I soon discovered that it wasn’t just my profile picture that this had happened to, it had also happened to various other pictures on various other posts.

The more I looked into posts and pages on my blog, the more I began to worry about what could have happened.

It turns out Photobucket recently launched their new policy bullshit jargon of how they aren’t allowing 3rd party hosting anymore and instead you’ll need to pay a hefty $399 a year to use this when hosting through them.

Two words Photobucket, fuck off.

I understand why this has been put into place, it’s business at the end of the day BUT WHERE WAS THE WARNING?!

I worried that I was beginning to sound like a winge bag when complaining about this via Twitter and to Dane but I soon realised that it wasn’t just me feeling let down. Hundreds of people are, mostly bloggers and forum hosts.

Thousands, fuck MILLIONS of images have been pretty much ruined now.

One blogger I follow has had to close down her blog temporarily whilst she sorts her images out and that actually is upsetting to me. Will I have to do this myself?

I then decided to dig deeper into how much damage this dramatic change with Photobucket may have done to my blog and it’s quite bad…

Let’s just say it looks like 3-4 years of hard work has been somewhat ruined due to the face there’s no pictures AT ALL to accompany the text.

I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS COULD BE WORSE. Honestly, I do. But this fucking sucks. I’m so proud of my blog for a start so for this to happen I’m just sort of let down and heartbroken right now.

It would have been worse if this was my job, but at least if it was I could spend at least a day or two fixing it. I work full time so fixing this problem isn’t going to happen overnight.

I haven’t exactly had the best day mentally so to come home and see this I am really left with a heavy heart of what to do.

I say this, I know what I need to do and I’m going to get to it as soon as I’ve written this post. I just wanted to address that I am aware my blog pictures are fucked up right now, so please, please, PLEASE bear with me whilst the problem is sorted.

For now I will be going over all of my 2017 posts so far to sort the images out and then I’ll be going over 2016, 2015, 2014 and so on and so forth.

My blog has been doing so well lately that I hope this minor cock up doesn’t affect this.

Right now I’m going to get on with fixing  this issue and eating Oreo’s.

Has the Photobucket fuck up fucked YOU up? Let me know in the comments what you’ll be doing to fix it.

Until next time, take care all and I apologise for such a negative post today. BUT FUCK TODAY IN THE EYE.

    • I’m actually jealous of people who didn’t use Photobucket. 😛 I don’t know how long it’s going to take to resolve this issue sadly. 😦 I’ll just have to try my best to overcome it asap! 😀

Thank you for your comment lovely. ❤
