About Me

Meet the blogger drawn by Chibi Shibby

Hey there! I’m Natalee, a level 32 kawaii nerd from Birmingham and welcome to my blog!

Years ago after university I was an aspiring writer and decided to set up this blog at the beginning of 2012 as a place where I could write my thoughts, feelings and what I’d been up to every other day. However, that soon changed and it now contains posts about all things geeky, Japanese culture, kawaii things and some otaku. I also talk about food and drink too, as well as the odd other topic too. I used to be a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger. These days I’d like to think of myself as more of a kawaii geek blogger.

For years I wanted to start my own blog and on one occasion I did, but that blog has long time into the World Wide Web, probably lost forever, hacked or God knows what else!Β EDIT I found it and it’s not changed… πŸ˜›

A lot of people have come to ask me over the past year (this blog used to be called BrokenProphetBlog after my Twitter username) “How did you come up with your blog name?” I did infact write a separate blog post about my name change and what it means but I shall explain it here too.

When I was a child I often visited my Gran and it was always the same not long after you sat down, “You want a drink?” My parents both drink coffee, whilst my Gran drank tea so she or either of my parents would make them(selves) a lovely cup of coffee. Sitting around my Gran’s kitchen table always reminded me of times where both my Mom and I sat there talking away with my Gran as well as other family members whilst drink cup after cup of coffee or tea.

But where did the name come from exactly? Well it came from one of my favourite artists, Deadmau5. It’s one of the tracks off of his album Album Title Goes Here which out of all his albums to date, is by far my favourite. “There Might Be Coffee” is just amazing and I listen to it often, hell whilst I write this post up I’m listening to it! xD

So you probably want to know a little bit more about me eh?

I’m a massive kawaii nerd and over the years it has gradually gotten worse… But come one, can embracing and loving something really be THAT bad?

I love reading manga, watching anime and playing both board and video games. In 2019 I started playing Dungeons & Dragons and I haven’t looked back.

Of course I also love writing for my blog, which is my number one hobby. When I’m at home you’ll find me snuggled up in bed writing, or sat at my dining room table. Something cheesy on the TV or iPad to watch with a beverage and I can knock out a couple of posts in a day, easy!

I used to love fashion, but these days I’m not arsed. I am loving how the 90’s have come back though! I definitely love rocking a geeky t-shirt, mom jeans and my Vans over the weekend. I’m also partial to a pair of tartan trousers too, as well as some Black Milk Clothing.

Thanks to the amazing and talented Chibi Shibby I have a gorgeous “meet the blogger” at the top of this page, as well as my header and footer on my blog!

Finally since June 2013 I’ve been taken by my lovely boyfriend Dane who I love to bits. He has fast become my rock as well as a best friend and I’m glad to have him. He makes me incredibly happy and I’m forever mentioning him on my blog. He makes me so damn happy I cannot put it into words. Thank you Dane for being there for me so far, I love you, I love you so much.

Overall I’m so happy with how well my blog has been doingΒ  since I started it 10 years ago and I want to thank everyone who reads, follows and shares it with people. I adore you so much, so thank you.

    • Hi! Thank you so much for your comment. ^_^

Sadly I don’t at the moment, but I would love to create one! πŸ˜€ If you want to ever discuss anime drop me a tweet/follow etc on Twitter @maybeecoffee πŸ˜€

  1. Cool blog, Natalee. I came for searching for info about the Barry M magic lipsticks and found the pictures very helpful. I ordered all of them a couple of days ago but since I live in Germany, it takes some time until they arrive. I’m especially looking forward to unicorn and genie. I just noticed that I actually haven’t even checked if you’re still writing here, haha, well so I like your blog if you read this and wish you all the best πŸ™‚
