Leighton Denny I Am Goddess High Performance Nail Colour Collection – Review

Although these are from Leighton Denny’s autumn/winter 2015 collection I recently picked them up from the M&S sale, as they were super cheap! I managed to pick up three, even though I only really wanted one or two. I will already state that online none of these shades are left to buy, but you may be in luck in store, like I was with two of these shades. You can still pick these up as well on the official Leighton Denny website (link here) but they’re still at the full retail price of £11.00.

So, on with the review!

Thanks to my mom, I discovered Leighton Denny a couple of years ago, but I haven’t as of yet owned any of his polishes until now, and boy was it worth the wait!

These are some of the nicest nail polishes I own, due to the quality of the nail polish, it’s lasting time, and of course the price! But I’ll go into detail about all those in this review.

L-R : Aphrodite’s Love, Queen Hera, Athena Love

I picked up three of six shades from the collection:

Aphrodite’s Love – An olive cream with a metallic duo-chrome finish.

Queen Hera – A metallic gold with chrome finish.

Athena Divine – A deep, midnight blue with metallic shimmer.

For £11.00 you’re paying for 12ml bottle, with a high performance nail colour. I found with all of these I only needed two coats max to get a really good pay off. All the shades are really pigmented, which I was pleased about.

Lasting time on these was amazing too! Aphrodite’s Love is currently on my toes, and has been the past week. It’s not chipped at all, not even during my pole fitness classes! Which is great to be honest. When I wore Queen Hera all weekend it lasted throughout, and didn’t chip once. Again, I was really pleased about it. I haven’t had the chance to wear Athena Divine yet, but I’m going to wear it next weekend and see how the lasting time is, but if it’s anything like the other two shads, it’ll last ages.

So here are some swatches of the polishes themselves!

I have shown all the polishes with both one, and two coats, just so you can see the pigmentation!

My personal favourite has to be Athena Divine. Like the name, it is a divine colour and I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t wait to rock this when I next have my holiday from work (FYI in a months time!) as well as when it’s mine and Dane’s anniversary in June, which will soon be here!

It’s a shame these are limited edition nail polishes, as they are truly stunning!

Will you be trying to pick these up in the M&S sale? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great weekend!

Me, the Sea, and a Pair of Leggings

Can I just put this out there first of all and say how bloody hard it was to find a decent title for this post. I didn’t want anything The Little Mermaid themed, or mermaid for that matter, because that’s just been done way too much, and yeah I hate that shit.

Finally I came up with one which is actually some sort of meaning to it. I was intending to use some sort of lyric but I just couldn’t settle on one which sucked. I looked at certain band songs I’ve been loving at the moment but nothing really matched. So I just left it as something simple, and relevant.

photo2020-01-20152042037201720pm_zpszij8riko

One of the last days of our holiday in January 2015 we went out for a walk along the harbour and for a drink or two. There are huge rocks lining the sea which you can climb across, and sit on. I of course did the latter, alongside a bit of standing up too. I used to climb along these rocks all the time as a child, and it was a treat to look out at the ocean. The views are fantastic from those rocks, and some of the beautiful and fond ones I have of Fuerteventura.

I really love these pictures, and they actually cause me to miss Fuerteventura a lot. It’s my second home, and one I would live at permanently one day…

My outfit isn’t anything spectacular, I know. But my leggings are pretty much the whole outfit, the rest is just complimentary.

I’ve owned these Black Milk Clothing leggings for quite a while now, since 2014 to be exact and for ages I have wanted to write a look book post on them, but alas I haven’t until now. The pictures in this post are from my holiday to Fuerteventura at the start of 2015, again just over a year ago now. Which let me tell you, has flown by! Since then I’ve finished my masters, got a new job, bought a new car, AND gone on holiday to Fuerteventura again.

I don’t think I have ever spoken about my Black Milk leggings on my blog until now, so I may as well talk a little about them. They were find via eBay (oh I love eBay!) and at first i didn’t win the big, but someone pulled out and alas I was there with my money to snap them up. I think I paid just over £35 for them, which is a lot but considering how much they are direct from Black Milk, and custom fees it was well worth the money! PLUS you can’t buy this design anymore, so I have a limited pair. WOOP!

photo2020-01-20152042043203420pm_zpscwtclxdn

I teamed these up with my amazing Darth Vader Vans slip ons, which I wear quite a lot, even a year on. I wore these religiously on holiday as I had just bought them in the January sales for £20.00, a complete bargain. I wish I hadn’t worn socks with them at the time, but I think I was trying to avoid getting any sunburn on my fight. Oh and my feet were in really bad condition that holiday… So I was probably trying to hide how minging they were.

During that holiday I was a bit of a hippy with the way I had my hair, and the jewellery I started wearing. I wore loads of friend bracelets, and necklaces. My hair was forever curly, and wavy, which I loved!

I loved that holiday, and I remember on the way home crying because I missed it so much. The second time I went back in 2015 was November to December. I was pretty numb flying back, and didn’t get upset. But I still didn’t want to come back to the UK.

photo2020-01-20152042038200020pm_zpsxjcg7ql7

I hope to go back again soon, I really miss it there, and pictures like these remind me of why I love it so damn much.

I hope to buy myself another pair of Black Milk leggings soon… Hopefully another mermaid pair. Watch this space!

Do you own any Black Milk Clothing pieces? If you don’t, which pieces would you like to own? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care all and hope you’ve had a great weekend!

New Year, Same Nerd

Happy New Year everyone! It is now the first day of 2016 and it’s so weird how quickly 2015 flew by. I am glad about that mind, as for the majority 2015 was a shit year. A really shit year. My mental health wasn’t good, I was stressed out about university, and work, and due to all of those things my money was scarce, VERY scarce. As well as that some other things happened family wise, which weren’t great, but I won’t go into detail about those.

There were some great things that happened in 2015 though. After years of wanting to go, I finally got the chance to go to London with my boyfriend. We went for Hyper Japan, The Book of Mormon, and most of all as a belated anniversary weekend away. It was wonderful, and although I wished we could have stayed longer, it has just made me want to go to London again this year. Which I hope to do soon!

As well as that, I went on holiday twice to Fuerteventura. The first time in January with my parents and my boyfriend, and then again in November/December with my dad. Both times were amazing, and it was great to go back to my second home after 10 years away from it.

I accomplished a lot of things throughout the year, both big things, and small. I finally finished my masters and passed, graduating the day before I flew off for my second holiday. I also bagged myself a new job in November, and I’ve been working there nearly a month now. I love it so much! I bought myself a new car, my second car, and I love it. I finally drove on the motorway, and regularly drove to university in Cheltenham and back… This was with someone mind. I also flew on a plane twice (well four if you count coming home) and although I had a panic attack the first time, the others I was fine. Just before New Year I bought myself a Playstation 4, something I had wanted for a very long time!

I’m pretty sure I have done more than I am letting on, but I just can’t think of much more. I still have so many things I want to do this year, and I thought I would share them here with you now.

  • Drive on the motorway on my own.

I want to start being able to drive to my boyfriends whenever I do so wish… Even if I do hate the close he lives in due to how small it is… It makes me anxious worrying about not being able to get out of there after parking. I also want to be able to drive to visit my two best friends, Poppy and Gabriella who both live an hour drive away. It would be nice to just drop either of them a text and say, “Hey what you doing later? Shall I come over and we can go out or hang out?” I would love that so much! I think it would really help my anxiety too.

  • Keep up with pole dancing fitness.

Although I haven’t been able to go as much recently due to Christmas and New Year, I cannot wait to get back to my classes on Tuesday as I really bloody miss it! I hope to have my own pole when I get my own house, and I intend to start setting goals of what moves I intend to learn every fortnight. I want to create my own routine, and when I get good enough I would love to do performances, but that won’t be for years yet! Pole dance goals? 😛

  • Get my blog to bigger, and better places!

I love my blog so much. It is like my little baby, and considering I have been running it for the past four years now, it’s doing really well for itself! I hope to be able to keep up with it, and even do better with it. I hope to be able to collaborate with fellow bloggers, as well as attend some blog meets too! I am hoping to have a new look for my blog soon too, I want a change for the New Year. Keeps eyes peeled for little changes here and there.

  • Finally buy a house with my boyfriend.

This is the biggest goal of the year, and one we both hope to do as soon as possible. With my new job I’ll be saving up as much as I can each month after payday, so that means spending bans! I want to live with Dane so damn much that it hurts. We’ve been together three years in June and it’s time to start planning our lives together. First a house, then a puppy, and when we’re ready we’ll start our own family. I’m not getting any younger, so I need to start being all serious now. I will be writing updates on house related stuff throughout the year!

Without getting all serious, I can’t think of anymore to be honest. I just want to keep my goals simple, and to the point. I also want some jokey goals as well throughout the year, after being inspired by Jemma over at Dork Face (link to her blog here).

  • Wear more lipstick! Apart from when my lips are dry, because dry and chapped lips covered in lipstick never look good.
  • Try to go to more gigs, because I really miss going to gigs.
  • Do more outfit posts on my blog!
  • Try and dress up more, because I dress like I did when I was a teenager and that isn’t good!
  • Go to London again… And Bristol, because I love Bristol.
  • Spend more time wrapped up in bed with Dane, watching anime, and playing games.
  • Go see friends more than I do.
  • Do more creative writing.
  • Play more games!

I really hope my life changes in 2016, as I really want it to be a good year. I want to achieve things I haven’t even put on the list. Things I haven’t even though of really. As I always do, I’ll be keeping you all updated on my blog with how life is going, and of course if I achieve any of the goals (both serious and silly ones!) that I manage to do throughout this year. The only thing I wish for is to see another year with Dane by my side. I love you so much Dane, and thank you for all the help you gave me in 2015. You are my rock, and whilst I was on holiday I began to realise how much I love him, and I want to be with him for the rest of my life… If I was a man I could do some sort of romantic engagement via my blog but alas, 1. I am not a man, 2. I don’t know if either of us wish to get married, and 3. I need to wrap up this post! 😛

What are your goals for 2016? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2015 Top 5 Favourites!

Well at midnight tomorrow 2015 will be officially over, and a part of me is so damn happy. I hated this year for various reasons, mostly due to stress, and my anxiety going from good to worse. Alas, 2016 is looking bright already and I really hope it is my year to improve myself and begin a new and exciting life with my boyfriend.

However, something I did like about 2015 was my blog, and how much it has gone from strength to strength. One of my regular monthly posts being my monthly favourites, and I couldn’t go without mentioning all my favourites from the year.

So here are my favourites from 2015!

  • Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer

If there is a product I have discovered this year and truly fallen in love with, it is this one. I used to only use this on my t-zone where my skin would look shiny. This has a matte affect to it, so it was leaving my oily t-zone go away. However, I didn’t find it was working just on my t-zone so I started to use it all over my face, and it worked a hell of a lot better! I’ve nearly finished my first tube now, but I have another one already which I bought before I went on holiday. I have used this throughout the year, and it’s always done wonders for my skin.

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Masochist (review)

I LOVED Jeffree Star’s liquid lipsticks this year! I haven’t owned Masochist and Hoe Hoe Hoe THAT long, but even so I love them. I get nothing but compliments about them from people at work, people in general, family, and friends. They just stay on all day long, and look gorgeous and eye catching too. I hope to own more of these in 2016… I’m after the Valentine’s Day shade next, and Abused.

  • Dior Addict Eau de Parfum

My mom bought me this perfect at the start of the year whilst we were on holiday and it is probably one of my most reached for scents this year. I really can’t describe what it is like. So I’ll just insert a quote from The Perfume Shop here, “A sophisticated oriental fragrance with a floral heart, for the passionate, intuitive woman who ignores dictates and follows her own rules. The Dior Addict attitude is best incarnated by its compelling heart note of the Jamaican ‘Queen of the Night’ a rare and elusive flower that blooms only for a few hours and is considered the soul of enchantment. Intensely seductive.” It is a very unique scent and reminds me of a mature, sweet smell. It’s right up my street either way, lasts for ages, and I can’t wait to wear it more throughout 2016.

  • L’Occitane Zesty Lime Hand Cream

I own so many of these hand creams and I only realised recently whilst having a clear out of my beauty drawer. I took one on holiday with me to use everyday and it was really lovely to use. I haven’t been using it so much at home since I got back from holiday, but this seems to be one of the only things that keeps my hands lovely and soft, even with my eczema flaring up! It also smells absolutely amazing, really zesty as the name suggests, and fresh. I have the lip balm to match, which is really to use nice in the summer, the same with the hand cream really.

  • MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder

I received this powder for Christmas from my mom last year, and I still have some left! Even if I have hit pan… This is an amazing pressed powder and one I was going to repurchase, but my mom has bought me a new one by Laura Geller. It’s just so smooth to apply to the skin and a little bit really does go a long way. I use it over the top of my POREfessional primer and it sets it for the day! It has a handy mirror inside too so when I used to have this for on the go it was really handy. I intend to finish this soon and I’ll probably buy myself another one soon enough, as for just over £20 it is a complete bargain for how long it has lasted me!

So those were my five favourite products from 2015! I would have mentioned more, but I wanted to make it look more condensed down to beauty products I really loved, and couldn’t really live without in 2015.

I will of course continue with my monthly favourites, the next one being at the start of February now! They will remain to be 5 top items of the month, like what I did throughout 2015.

What were your favourite beauty products of 2015? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until 2016, take care all and have a Happy New Year! ^_^

Christmas Presents!

Merry Christmas one and all! Even if it is a tad too late to say now… Everyone is saying, “Happy New Year!” at the moment, aren’t they?

ANYWAY! Christmas has come and gone once again, and as you can tell from my absence the past couple of days, I’ve had a really good one this year. I spent the morning over at my boyfriend’s house with his family, which was lovely. We hadn’t done this yet, so it really did make a nice change. Then in the evening we came over to my house, which was super chilled out. Perfect Christmas!

I worked Boxing Day, which sucked but it was a laugh with my colleagues and we all talked about our Christmas Day’s, and what we got for Christmas.

Tonight I’ll be sharing what goodies I received for Christmas! As I’ve stated the past couple of years when writing these sorts of posts, I am in no way bragging, or showing off about what I received for Christmas. I love reading posts like this (because I’m a nosey cow!) so I always imagine people would enjoy reading mine too… Especially anyone who loves foxes, and anime/manga related goodies, as that’s what the majority was which I received.

I also want to apologise for crappy pictures. These were taken late at night, I was shattered after a busy day, and I knew if I didn’t get something taken, I would have nothing to write about now as I’ve literally not had any time.

So, here are my presents!

As you can see I received a lot of gifts, and this isn’t even all of it! Nope, there is more…

As I mentioned in my holiday haul post here my dad bought me this gorgeous Michael Kors Riley handbag! It has been my go to bag ever since the holiday, and I can see it being used pretty much forever now… I love using it for work as it’s so light to carry and it fits the right amount of items in.

One of the best presents I received for Christmas was nightwear. I haven’t received any for quite some time, so when my boyfriends parents bought me this fox slipper socks, and my boyfriend bought me these woodland animal pajamas, I was thrilled! The pajamas he bought me are so damn comfortable as well! I wore them from Christmas Day to this morning, and I wish I could be wearing them now. I love long-sleeved pajama tops!

My boyfriends family were really generous and lovely this year with their presents to me. My boyfriends brother and his girlfriend bought me Lush, and although my boyfriend states that they didn’t know which gift set I was after, they bought me the exact one! I’d eyed this set up only a week ago in Lush, due to it coming with Twilight Shower Gel, which is a limited edition product, and only comes out in the Lush Kitchen. I haven’t used it yet, but I can’t wait to.

My boyfriends parents bought me various little bits and pieces, from the fox slippers mentioned earlier, a cute little candle with squirrels on it, and this beautiful fox pillow. I snuggled it all morning after opening it, and it now sits lovely on my bed… I’m leaning against it right now, and it’s so fluffy and comfortable! They also bought me some Pandora, but I’m saving that until last.

My families gifts were lovely, and to the point. Alongside all these my mom also bought me a navy dressing gown, but I never got a picture of it, sorry. One of the nicest presents she bought me was this gorgeous fox mug! I had told her I wanted it from Avon for a while, and she offered to pick it up for me. Alas she told me it had sold out, and had secretly hidden it for Christmas. She also bought me a cute little fox purse. I’m unsure what I’ll use it for at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll soon find a use for it. The hair towels were a complete surprise, and I was keen on getting some new ones, so these pink ones will do just the job! I love using these towels to dry my long hair, they really do the trick. As my mom did last year, she has done it again and bought me a new face powder, only this time on by Laura Geller. So far since getting it a few days ago I’ve been using it and it’s lovely, I cannot complain.

My brother is great when it comes to presents, he always gets good ones, and usually he’ll get perfume. He never knows what perfume I’m after (because I don’t really talk to him about that sort of thing) but he always seems to get me something that I think, “Ooo that’s nice… Meh too much money…” and it makes me smile. This year he has bought me the latest scent by Marc Jacobs, Decadence. I can’t even describe the scent for this. It’s pretty unique, and reminds me of something that Thierry Mugler would come out with. The bottle for this does astonish me too, with its little handbag design. This came in a gift set with a shower gel, which I used on Boxing Day. I intend to wear this on my birthday.

My boyfriend bought me so much stuff! Like SO much stuff! But in return, I also bought him lots of things. The majority of what he seemed to pick up for me, they were fox themed. He’s never bought me this much fox related stuff before, which surprised me. He bought me a fox umbrella, and a fox car air freshener from a company called The Fox Project, a charity which helps foxes that have been hurt, and need urgent treatment. Along these he also bought me two pairs of fox socks from M&S, as well as a fox mug. Said mug now lives at his house, as I’m always pestering him for tea and coffee.

Alongside fox related items he had a habit for buying me lots of books this year (as I did for him too), and Umaru-Chan related goodies. He bought me two of these later items, one being a t-shirt, the other this adorable little notebook! I’ll be using that for work as a blog writing book. As I already mentioned, he bought me books, four in total. Three being books 10, 11, and 12 from the Nana manga, and one being the Pewdiepie book, This Book Loves You. I intend to go through it on my day off Wednesday.

As well as that he also picked up this cute little polar bear, as something I can snuggle when at his house, a Simon’s Cat calendar for next year, and a little Yankee Candle Christmas Eve votive candle.

He also bought me a special Pandora charm, but I’ll be going into more detail about that shortly.

These were two of the best presents I received from my boyfriend. I knew I was getting the Umaru-Chan Nendoroid, but the Baymax Pop! Vinyl was a complete surprise to me! I had told him I wanted it, but I didn’t know if he would buy him for me or not.

I am a massive fan of Big Hero 6, and Baymax really melted my heart. I can’t even remember how many times I cried when we went to watch Big Hero 6… It was a lot though! I’m not a huge Pop! Vinyl fan, I think the majority of the figures they release and sell look crap with how their paint work has been done. HOWEVER some of them do look amazing, and Baymax is one of these. He’s pearlescent in colour, and is bigger than normal Pop! Vinyl’s, which I actually really like.

As for Umaru-Chan she’s a gorgeous little figure, and one I fast fell in love with. I have spoken on my blog before about how much I love the anime that she originates from, and so when I got into the anime, my boyfriend knew he had to order the figure for me. I want to open her so badly, but she’s just too nice to open her. Instead I shall just gaze at her from afar and one day-dream of opening her.

Finally we have the two Pandora charms I was given this year. One from my boyfriend, and one from his parents. His parents gave me the little puppy charm (on the right) that is wearing a cute little red Father Christmas hat. It is such a little cute charm, and I wish I could have got some better pictures of it, but alas I couldn’t at the time. He’s sitting down, with his tongue sticking out. It’s a real cutie to add to my bracelet.

The charm my boyfriend bought for me is the fox (on the left) and it isn’t actually an official Pandora… But I don’t care about that! Pandora are taking too long to release a fox charm (you watch, they will now!) so when my boyfriend saw this one for sale on The Fox Project he snapped it up. It’s a cute little fox lying on a log, and I imagine trying to have a snooze. I love this charm so much because it really does stand out on the whole bracelet.

So that’s all… Wait… That isn’t ALL my presents? Is it?

My mom bought me a Kitchen Aid for Christmas. You know, like the ones they use on The Great British Bake Off? YES ONE OF THOSE! I was gobsmacked when I opened a massive present to not only see this, but a ceramic bowl, as well as a five piece kitchen/culinary set to use with the mixer as well. For weeks my mom has been lying about this massive box in the living room, saying it was something my brother had ordered… But it never budged. Until I came home for Christmas, and it had moved and was covered in wrapping paper. I am so excited to use it, even though I’m not 100% sure when I will yet. When I do, I’m sure I’ll have some sort of blog post about it.

Now, that IS all I received for Christmas. Although I did receive a wash set from my sister-in-law, and nephews, and I am yet to see what friends have bought me.

But yes, that is all my presents from Christmas ’15! What did you get for Christmas? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below, or even link me to your blog post about it if you’re a blogger.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a nice rest after Christmas. I would love one, that’s for sure. 😛

December/Christmas Wish List

Yes it’s finally December, the month of Christmas and splurging on the ones you love! I’m currently not in the UK, instead I’m basking in some warmer weather on holiday. However that doesn’t mean that I’m not thinking about Christmas looming and what presents I wish to buy for my loved ones… Of course what gifts I would like to receive myself.

As I do every year, this is my December/Christmas wish list! It was pretty hard to do because there isn’t much I want that I haven’t already mentioned in previous wish lists.

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

If there is one thing I love about Lush Christmas, it’s when they bring back their old classic Snow Fairy. I’ve only ever owned one huge bottle of this stuff, which surprises me as I love it so much. It reminds me of the children’s medicine Calpol, in both the shade and scent. Now Lush have brought out their huge 1kg bottles, I want to get one for Christmas as a present is possible, or I’ll treat myself to some before Christmas. Either way, I’ll be getting some yummy Snow Fairy in my life this year!

  • Yankee Candle in Christmas Eve

Regular readers of my blog will know how much I love Yankee Candle’s. Lately I haven’t been burning them as much, but as soon as I’m back from my holiday I’ll be burning my Christmas scents in preparation for the big day. I have my eye on three of the Christmas scents, but this one is at the top of the list. I’ve smelt Christmas Eve year after year and always lusted after it. It smells fruity, yet warm. Not a sickly scent at all! It doesn’t particularly remind me of Christmas to be honest like some of Yankee Candle’s other scents, but even so it is still a lovely scent and one I would like to add to my collection.

  • Pokemon Center Chiku-Chiku Sewing Vulpix Plush

I love Pokemon, and due to how much I love it, I hate that I can’t live in Japan to be able to regularly visit the Pokemon Center stores. However, some lovely people over there as well as in the UK will buy products and sell them to desperate and sad people like myself. eBay is one of the places that is great for picking up Pokemon Center items, and it is there where I have seen this adorable Vulpix plush. I am such a huge nerd when it comes to Pokemon, so I’m even more so of one when it comes to plushies. My favourite part about this one is the tails, they just look so adorable and realistic. I just need this plushie in my life!

  • Pandora Christmas Puppy Charm

Every Christmas, birthday, and anniversary I ask for a Pandora charm, or at least hint as it which ones I like. It’s a good time of year for an extra special treat like this and this year Pandora have brought out some really nice Christmas charms, including this one. The majority of charms on my Pandora bracelet are all animal themed, this wasn’t done on purpose either. I love puppies, so this cute little Christmas puppy charm is a must have for me! With his cute little Father Christmas hat on too, what more can you ask for?

  • Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT

At the time of writing this post (a week before it’s due to be published!) I should have bought this for myself either at duty-free before getting on the plane, or even whilst I’m on my holiday as a treat to myself. I don’t need anymore perfume to be fair, but I am a perfume collector, it has to be said. Plus I don’t intend to take any on holiday with me, so I shall be picking this up to keep me happy during my two weeks away. I used to really dislike EDT perfumes due to them not lasting that long, or having a strong scent, but these days I sometimes opt for them due to those reasons. I don’t know if it’s due to age, but strong perfumes sometimes give me headaches of late and it kind of sucks. So I often opt for something lighter. Some EDT perfumes tend to last just as long as EDP so I don’t see the issue myself. This will be lovely and light to wear throughout the day, and in the evening for when I don’t fancy anything heavy.

  • The Unloved DVD

I love this film! I would watch it online monthly without delay but these days I cannot seem to find it lately. I didn’t know it was available to buy on DVD until recently, and now it’s something I want to add to my collection. I contemplated picking this up myself but I may as well leave it for someone to buy for me, or even pick up myself if I get any Christmas money. It’s written and directed by Samantha Morton (most known role being Minority Report) and is based on her experience in the UK care system. It is true at times due to this, and is such a wonderful, and hard-hitting film. I recommend everyone to watch it if you haven’t done so already.

  • Olivia Burton Woodland Squirrel and Bunny Watches

Just to get things straight first of all, I don’t want both of these. I like them both yes, but I just can’t decide which I prefer, which is why both are featured in this post. In the blogging world Olivia Burton watches are big, and a must have item. I myself am not a huge fan of watches. I wear one yes, but I’m not obsessed with how it looks and such. I never really have been. As long as it looks lovely, doesn’t get in the way, and most importantly tells me the time… I’m happy! Everyone was obsessed with one of her watches that featured a bee (this one to be precise) and it is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong but it didn’t appeal to me. I recently had a look around the website just to be nosey, and see if she made a watch with a fox on… Although she doesn’t have one with the little orange, sly cutie on, she does infact have some woodland animal themed watches, two of them that I now have my eye on and will be talking about on this post. First of all we have the squirrel watch, a gorgeous dark brown and gold watch with an adorable squirrel on the face. This is a simple and classic watch, with a cute twist, and reminds me of the sort of thing I would wear in autumn due to the colour scheme. The second watch is a cute little bunny watch, a more girly watch than the first due to the rose-pink and silver colour scheme, and who can say no to the cute little bunny? This one is a must have for any girly girls out there, and bunny lovers alike. This is definitely a more spring and summer watch due to the colour scheme. I am swaying more towards the squirrel due to the colours, but I also then sway to the bunny as it just looks that little cuter to me. I guess I just wish that Olivia Burton would bring out a fox watch! Then I wouldn’t have this dilemma…

Either way, that is the end of my December/Christmas wish list! I could have probably put more on here, but alas I guess I don’t really want all that much.

So, what are you after for Christmas? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and I’m off to soak some more rays!

Disney x Vans 101 Dalmatians Collection

2015 has been a pretty exciting year shoes wise. Dr Martens (Adventure Time) and Vans (Disney) both brought out two exciting collections for spring and summer, and then they did it all over again for autumn and winter. Of course I got some Jake Dr Martens boots (post about that here) and I missed out on the first Disney collection  in the hopes that another would come out, and that waiting sure did pay off.

As soon as the 101 Dalmatians collection was released I made a blog post about it (you can read that here) over a month ago now and as soon as the collection came out I made sure to order myself a pair of the shoes. I wish I could have ordered more but with me watching my money, and Christmas around the corner, I knew I could wait.

I don’t want to call this post a review, as it isn’t. But since wearing them for the first time the weekend I will be talking about them a little. Vans don’t need review to be honest. They’re some of the best shoes around and considering I have been rocking Vans for nearly 10 years now, I can safely say they’re my favourite too.

The packaging for the shoes themselves is really simple, but also pretty and it has silhouettes of all the Disney characters to feature in the collection. This is how I knew that Vans would be releasing a 101 Dalmatians collection, as you can see the puppies dotted all over the box, as well as the Cheshire Cat, and the monkey from The Jungle Book… I’m going to be honest, I don’t know his name.

As you can see from the first picture in this post, the shoes themselves are the usual lace up slip on shoes that Vans are known for. I’ve never owned a lace up pair before, so these were a first for me. They felt odd at first when I wore them around the house, and initially tried them on, but after a while I soon got used to them. I know with my Star Wars Vans I found them incredibly uncomfortable at first, same with my first pair of slip on shoes too from Vans and they dug into my ankles. However, walking around Wolverhampton in these all day didn’t cause me any issues at all, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The design on these is just so adorable, and I couldn’t stop looking at them whenever I was walking anywhere. I know that sounds really odd, but the design just makes me so happy! I intend to wear these on holiday next week (I can’t believe it is nearly less than a week away!) and I hope to rock them both in the day, as well as in the evening.

The detail that has gone into these shoes is amazing though. On each pair there is a different puppy gnawing on a Vans shoe. I couldn’t believe it and searched each shoe for either the same design, or the opposite. It’s just an awesome thing, and it makes me smile even more when I look at the shoes.

May I add that these aren’t cheap, but they are so worth the money! £52.00 will buy you these awesome shoes, and if you’re a student you’ll get 10% off, which is what I did so they only cost me £46.80. Postage was free too, so I snapped a good bargain, if I don’t say so myself.

I picked them up 48 hours before the release date due to being part of the Vans newsletter, which was pretty cool… But these didn’t get shipped to me until they were made available for the general public, which annoyed me to be honest. I thought the 48 hours would have been for said people to get the shoes earlier. Delivery wise with it, I was really disappointed and whilst I will order from Vans online again, it has put me off bothering with their exclusive time deals in the future.

These are now for sale in Schuh, which I would have bought them from originally if they had of stocked them at the time. Next time I’ll be going to them if I fancy the other pair of shoes, and the backpack as they’re just more reliable. This being said, I will probably just pop into the Vans store in Birmingham, as they’re awesome in there for customer service!

Overall I’m in love with these so far, as I can’t wait to rock them on my holiday, as well as more in the future!

Will you be picking up any of the new Disney x Vans collection? If so, what do you have your eyes on? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all had a great weekend. I’m poorly at the moment so I’m staying wrapped up in bed.

October Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it is now November! It only feels like yesterday when I started my masters, and that was well over a year ago now. I graduate the end of this month, and I have another holiday to look forward to with my dad. I have now began to notice it’s feeling colder now, and it’s time to wrap up in my winter coat. I cannot wait to team it up with my Dr Martens.

But for now, I am talking about my favourite from October. It was really hard finding five products to talk about this month to be honest, but after much thought I finally found them, and here they are.

  • The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Sugar Body Scrub.

After using up both of my most recent Lush body scrubs (Rub Rub Rub review and Ocean Salt review) I decided it was time to pick something new up. Whilst having a look around The Body Shop at their sale (as well as some present ideas for my boyfriend) I noticed that some of their previous summer range was in the sale, both Sweet Lemon and Vineyard Peach. So I picked up both of the scrubs, out of the two mind this one is proving to be the better of the two. After using it my skin feels silky soft and smelling delicious! I really wish this was a permanent product though! I’ll be making sure to try their other sugar body scrubs out in the future.

  • Philosophy Sugar Plum Fairy Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath.

I’ve owned this stuff since Christmas 2012 but I’ve only just opened it as I wanted to save it for Christmas, or even for summertime. It’s a gorgeous scented multi-purpose product from Philosophy which is a real treat. I’ve been using it mostly as a bubble bath for evenings when I really want a nice hot bath, but I don’t wish to use my Lush products. It leaves a nice gentle scent on the skin and a little bit of shimmer. It’s perfect for Christmas, and was a limited edition for Christmas too. I don’t actually think you can buy this anymore, which is a shame as I love it so damn much! If you can get your hands on this, I recommend it! You can check out my review from back when my blog first came to be!

  • Reese’s Lip Balm.

I didn’t think I would love this lip balm as much as I actually do. It was an impulse buy when me and my boyfriend popped into Primark about a month ago. I don’t even remember what we bought when we went there but alas, we were there. I spotted this on the till and for £1.50 my boyfriend picked one up for me. We love anything peanut butter flavoured, and as I LOVE Reese’s Pieces, he thought I would like this. It’s a petroleum jelly style lip balm that doesn’t just smell of the famous peanut butter cups, but even tastes of it! It’s not the most moisturising balm in the world, but it does the trick if I want to quickly apply something whilst on the go, before work, or even whilst I’m at home. I’m going to be buying some of these for people for Christmas, they’re just so amazing!

  • Philosophy Amazing Grace EDP.

Ooo two Philosophy products mentioned this month! This is one I got halfway through the month, and it’s one of my favourites out of the five this month. My mom picked this up on a special offer from QVC in a massive gift set, and kindly gave this perfume to me. Years ago I owned the Amazing Grace shower gel, and the body lotion. I used to use them both every day, and whenever I saw my gran she would always comment how lovely I smelt. So the scent always reminds me of her, so to finally own a perfume version of it is just a dream come true! I wore it loads the first week I got it, and as it’s a huge 125ml bottle, it will definitely last me ages! I recommend the Philosophy perfumes if you fancy trying something new, especially as the grace scents are really gentle and soft. Perfect for daytime wear.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Masochist.

This is by far my favourite product this month, so I’ve made sure to save the best until last. I am due to review this at some point this week, if not next week! But I have worn this quite a lot throughout October and without giving too much away, it is by far one of the best lipsticks I have ever bought. MAC is my favourite for lipsticks, don’t get me wrong they won’t ever be replaced but Jeffree is a really close second. They last ages, the shades are out of the world (especially the new Christmas ones due for release on Friday!), and they are just amazing. I cannot wait to own more, I really can’t. I don’t want to say too much on here as my review will explain it all.

So, those were my favourites from October. To think there is only one more monthly favourites post left, and then I’ll have my 2015 favourites up on my blog. It’s been such a fast paced year and before we know it, it’ll be 2016 and I’ll be turning 26. OH WOE!

What have been your favourites for October? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and hope you had a great weekend.

Disney x Vans 2015 – 101 Dalmatians Collection!

If there is a collection I am super excited for, it’s the Disney 101 Dalmatians collection that Vans will be bringing out this fall! I squealed when I saw this collection being announced last week and I have my eye on pretty much everything from it.

As well as 101 Dalmatians, Vans will also be releasing The Jungle Book AND Alice in Wonderland collections too. Do I hear excited squeals? I think I do!

Vans have previously worked with Disney to bring out a collection in the spring and summer which included Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Disney Princesses, as well as Disney Villains. Good eh?

Vans have been bringing out some amazing collaborations the past couple of years, the last one being Star Wars, and the one before being Marvel. As well as that they have also teamed up with Iron Maiden and The Beatles to bring out some cool collections.

I remember however when the first Disney collection was coming out, and I hoped so damn much that 101 Dalmatians would be included, so when it was revealed and there was nothing of the sort involved, I was gutted. So you can imagine my joy when this was announced, and it has been nothing but be what I imagined!

I am excited to share with you all the collection that has been revealed so far, and how damn excited I am for it. I was like this when Adventure Time teamed up with Dr Martens, and I’m just as happy with Vans and Disney bringing out this collection… If not more excited!

This is the teaser image that Vans leaked just before the actual press release about the collection itself. I didn’t see this until after the press release, but isn’t it just so cute??? Little dalmatian chewing on a Vans slip on? Be still my beating heart…

As you can see the collection is pretty red, white, and black which was pretty obvious to be honest. There will be two variations of shoes out and whilst both look awesome, I’m opting for the red pair which will look cool all year around! I am hoping to get these before I go on holiday to wear throughout that. The high top pair look cool too and if this happen to go cheap enough in future sales, I may have to pick them up…

Alongside the classic Van’s trainers, of course there are some apparel and accessories with this collection which I am so happy Vans are bringing out, which as you can see are just as adorable as the shoes.

There are two backpacks coming out, one which is black with a repeated pattern of the dalmatians on it, as well as a red one with cute little pictures of dalmatians on, I’m loving the latter myself as it isn’t so in your face as the black one. But both are just as cute! There is also a hat sharing the same pattern as the black bag, this isn’t really my thing but I’m sure loads of people will be rocking it! I’ve also heard rumours around that there will be a keyring coming out, but I haven’t seen this on any of the promotional images yet.

With the apparel there is a raglan tee, as well as a sweatshirt that I both want! You can never say no to cute t-shirts and such like this, and me being a huge 101 Dalmatians fan, I would totally rock these throughout the year. As well as those there will also be some cute socks being released, and by the look of it some boyfriend boxers, very cute!

I think out of the three collections coming out that this one is the best one. It’s just so adorable and cute, and fans of all years will fall in love with it.

Sadly I don’t know a date that the new Vans Disney collection will come out in the UK, but if it’s anything like America I can imagine at the end of October, if not in November at some point. Perfect timing though with Christmas just around the corner!

I apologise for not talking about The Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland collections, but I don’t really have much interest for those. There are plenty of blogs and websites around talking about those if you just Google though!

So, do you have your eyes on the next Disney X Vans collection? If so, which one? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a great weekend!

September Favourites 2015

Goodbye September, and hello October AND autumn! I was seriously loving some products in September and I have been so excited to share them with you all today. So let’s just get on with it!

  • The Body Shop Glazed Apply Bath Jelly.

I know this is a product from Christmas 2014, but I don’t care. I fell in love with this when it first came out, so I picked it up in the January sales. Since then I have used it once in a while as a treat and this stuff lasts ages! Only recently have I used it more than previously and I am really sad that I am one or two more uses away from this being finished. I don’t think Glazed Apple is coming back this year, instead it appears to be being replaced by Glazed Plum… Which I don’t think will be as good but whatever. This has left me feeling lovely and soft after a long soak, and smelling of yummy apples. I hope The Body Shop bring back the bath jellies so that I can pick up the other scents this year.

  • Jo Malone Cologne in Earl Grey & Cucumber (review here).

Ever since getting this thanks to my job, I have loved it and let me tell you, it has lasted AGES! I used this on a shopping afternoon and drinks evening out recently in September and I really loved using it. It lasts ages, smells gorgeous and lady like, as well as just being a complete classic for me now. It’s definitely going to be my scent for my graduation! It’s just a shame it costs so much, but I can see this bottle lasting me years as I only use it when I really fancy it. I don’t go crazy with the bottle otherwise it’ll all be used up really quickly.

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

If there is a lip balm that I go back to every autumn and winter, it’s this. It’s just so creamy and moisturising and it really does help me when my lips are incredibly dry, which they have been a lot lately. Not only that, but I haven’t been that bothered about wearing lipstick this month and I really don’t know why. I’ve just felt “meh” whenever I look at my lipsticks and end up slathering this on before I leave the house. It’s just perfect, and I can never say anything wrong about it!

  • Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Softening Nourishing Lotion.

I stopped using this a while ago, only recently remembering that I owned it when going through my beauty cupboard. Instead of using this as a body lotion I’ve been using it as a in shower body lotion, and also to shave with and I don’t care if you’re not meant to do this, because it works really well for me. I don’t get time to apply body lotion after I get out of the shower or bath these days, so I need to keep moisturised somehow. Being able to apply this all over and rinse it off after I’ve used a shower gel is really good, and it leaves me feeling soft and smooth all day! It also smells really nice! For shaving it really does the job, and has saved me using all my expensive shave gel too.

  • Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss.

I picked this up a couple of months ago and have been using it none stop. It’s a really summery moisturising lip gloss with SPF 15, perfect for holidays, which is why I picked it up. I didn’t really wear any lipstick when I went on holiday so I doubt I will do the next time I go, so this is a great option to wear from day to evening. This smells and tastes delicious, just like island berries and has a light pink/red shade to it. I keep this in my backpack to apply when out on the go. It isn’t sticky which I really like, but due to that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to, which is pretty annoying. I picked this up in Asda for £3, but in Boots it retails for for nearly £8, shocker! So if you’re wanting to pick this up, go to your local Asda and pick up a bargain!

So, those are my favourites from September. They’re nothing special, I’ll admit that but they’re essentials to be honest and ones I have been loving this month for sure.

What beauty products are you loving from September? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and here’s to October!
