London Adventure – What I Plan To Do

I feel like this is going to be a heavy rambling post for a Saturday morning and for that I already apologise. 😛 The idea came to me and meh, sod it I’m getting it down on my blog for you all.

In three weeks time I’ll be in London for a trip to see one of my oldest friends Sophi and we plan to do some shopping and drink LOTS of bubble tea!

I thought I would share with you all what we plan to do when I’m there, as well as which shops we intend to go to. I know this might be a bit of a boring post, but I thought for people who might be into the same things as myself might want to know where I shop when I go to London. I’m always looking for new places to discover when I’m there, especially if they’re geek, otaku, kawaii, ARGH JUST ALL THE AWESOME STUFF. 😛

So without further ado, let’s get to it!

It isn’t a trip to London if I don’t visit at least ONE Japan Centre! I feel like when I first went to London in 2015 that there was only one Japan Centre. Now there’s four! I usually got to the Shaftesbury Avenue store as I find it’s got the best range. I have also visited the Stratford store which is pretty nice too. I don’t know which store we’ll visit yet, but I’ll be surprised if it isn’t our firm favourite. I plan to pick up some food bits I can bring back for me and Dane to eat on the Sunday as well as some possible Christmas presents for Dane and some treats for myself! 😛 I never leave the Japan Centre without a bottle of ramune. 😛

Okay I know I’m not the biggest fan of Lush these days and in all honesty I’m not. I don’t really support them the way I used to when I was younger… Oh the good ol’ days of spending £30-£50 on shit I don’t need… 😛 BUT I do like venturing into the Oxford Street store. They sell exclusives that I love, I always take LOADS of black pots so I can stock up on the Prince of Darkness fresh face mask and I like looking and smelling everything with Sophi. Although I’m not arsed about the Christmas range this year, I do feel like picking up myself some of the Yog Nog Yule Log bubble bar. Alongside Snow Fairy and The Comforter scents, Yog Nog is up there as one of my favourites, if not my favourite. So when I heard that they were bringing the Yog Nog scent back I did get a little excited. I don’t think I’ll be able to walk past this bubble bar without sniffing it and if I sniff it I’ll have to buy one… Or two! 😛 I might also grab a bar of my favourite bubble bar Supertramp. Any other items I’d possibly pick up are Bewitched bubble bar and Monsters’ Ball bath bomb from the Halloween collection. I’ve just looked however at how much it would cost for all the stuff I’d pick up and it’s almost £30. Ouch. We’ll see. 😛

Ha this should not be on a list for London! You can go into Primark ANYWHERE but, I do really want to venture to Primark with Sophi. The last time I visited her we popped into her local Primark and it was nice to just look around all the cute pyjamas with her. I picked up my Pokemon pyjama bottoms when I went with her, which I still have almost 2 years later! 😛 Sophi is a bit obsessed with Primark and she knows that’s true, but so am I! I love all the cute pyjamas and t-shirts they come out with. It’s also my go to for work clothing. Sophi has even banned me from shopping in Primark in case I buy anything that she’s already bought me for Christmas/birthday. 😛

This is a kawaii store I’ve heard about for as long as I can remember, but as of yet I’ve never been into their London store and I really want to! I mentioned it to Sophi and she’s game for going! Woohoo I can’t wait for an injection of kawaii goodness! They stock brands like Sanrio, Rilakkuma, Pusheen, Moomin, Sumikko Gurashi, Tokidoki, Snoopy and more! I definitely want to go to have a nose at certain brands *cough* Pusheen and PomPomPurin *cough* 😛 I don’t know if I’ll buy much or not here… I guess it’ll be a good place to venture to for some ideas of things I can ask for Christmas. I know Dane wants LOADS of present ideas for both Christmas and my birthday. Man why do they have to be so close together?!

The last time I visited London I went into the cafe in London’s Choccywoccydoodah and oh my, it was AMAZING! Just like you would imagine from a chocolate mad shop. I was so happy that I went with Sophi the last time I went to London as I discovered the chain as well as the amazing cafe they have. They’ve since moved to Covent Garden so we’re going to go and check them out together and probably have a chocolate lunch… As well as a coma!

Although I’m not fussed if we go here or not, there’s a Moomin shop?! I did not know of this and therefore this is pretty cool. Moomin’s remind me of when I was between the ages of 3 and 4 and they freaked me out. I remember one fond memory of it being on the TV in the living room and it was making me nervous so I curled up on the arm chair and threw my blanket over me, just peering out when I thought it was safe. Moomin’s isn’t that bad though and I was just being a typical kid. I’m just intrigued by this shop and what they sell.

I forgot that Sass & Belle have an actual store, which is pretty cool! I haven’t really looked on the website for the longest time, but I’ve just had a little mooch at their Christmas stock and it’s pretty cute. I used to love Sass & Belle back in the day, but I feel like since I’ve moved into the house with Dane and settled, I’m not as arsed anymore. I’ll definitely have a nose in here though, I’d like to have a mooch at what stuff looks like in the flesh. xD

  • Anywhere that sells bubble tea!

Whenever I go and visit Sophi in London (well Essex) we always go and get bubble tea together! Only last weekend had I had bubble tear for the first time in FOREVER! I do love me a bubble tea, my favourite being green apple fruity tea (either black or green tea) with strawberry or cherry popping bubbles. As I said, I don’t have a clue where we’ll be going for our bubble tea fix, but I found an article about some of the best ones in London!

That’s pretty much most of the stuff I plan to do when I visit London! At this moment in time I can’t actually think of anything else, but I’m pretty sure we will as the weeks approach.

If you live and visit London a lot, where do you go to shop? What’s your favourite place to go to? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and have an amazing weekend.

Etch and Pin – Coventry Inspired Pin Badges

As regular readers will know, I am a massive pin badge collector and it’s something that only really took off towards the middle of the year! Either way I love pin badges, especially sharing new and unique designs I’ve discovered.

I recently became a part of the Coventry Bloggers community, which I adore and love so much! Dane is from Coventry so whilst I’m not originally from there and don’t live there, I do visit there quite often for various reasons. I love visited there for friends and Dane’s family, as well as to be a part of the blogging community.

I heard about Etch & Pin through the Coventry bloggers and was offered to review October’s pin badge. I couldn’t turn it down after seeing the previous designs and knew I’d love to talk about it. The pin didn’t take long to arrive at all, a few days at least! I’m just so excited to talk about this pin, as well as the owner and brand themselves.

Aaron Ashmore, owner of Etch & Pin, with the It's a Batch pin badge

Image taken from Coventry Telegraph

Back in July this year Aaron Ashmore the guy behind Etch & Pin decided it was time to release a pin badge that all people from Coventry could relate to!

I remember not long after me and Dane had made it official we were out shopping in Morrisons for some bits and pieces, when he turned to me and said, “Hey Nat? Shall we get some batches to have for dinner?”

My response? “A batch of what?”

It was pretty funny at the time and I’ll never forget it. It pissed me off at first as to me in Birmingham we say bread roll, cob or bun. Batch appears to be a Coventry thing. Since us living together I now say batch as I’m just used to it.

So when I saw that there was a batch pin badge, I got pretty excited!

The ‘Its a Batch’ pin badge came out in July and sold 75% of stock within the first few days! Aaron said to the Coventry Telegraph back in July, “It’s always a bit nervy starting something new like this but we had a really positive reaction. We had to go and order some more.”

Every badge that is sold a £1 will be donated to a different Coventry charity each month. A proportion of the proceed from the ‘It’s a Batch’ badge sales were donated to the Coventry Myton Hospice.

Three months on and Etch & Pin is booming and doing really well! Each pin badge that is released had celebrated one of the city’s landmarks. Aaron said to the Coventry Telegraph, “Collectable pin badges have had a resurgence in the past couple of years and we are hoping that the people of Coventry will wear our pins as a badge of honour showing how proud they are of our city. Our badges are made by Coventry people, for Coventry people.”

I think this is so lovely and amazing how it isn’t just pin badges about Coventry, but it’s completely to do with Coventry. I don’t feel like this happens much anymore and it’s just great, especially as Coventry won the UK City of Culture 2021 nearly a year ago.

As I mentioned before, a new badge will be released each month, however they are limited edition and are only available the month they’re released.

Image taken from Etch & Pin Etsy

July was It’s a Batch, which is now sold out (unsurprisingly!) but you can pick up the It’s a Batch fridge magnet*, which was attached to the pin badge I was sent.

Image taken from the Coventry Telegraph

August was Coventry Ring Road, which is still available to buy.

Our badge celebrates the Coventry Ring Road and looks to show that being ‘sent to Coventry’ is something to be proud of.  We are also proud that £1 of every badge sold will be donated to a different local charity each month. The donation in August will be made to Free Radio’s Cash for Kids.

September was Three Spires, which is also still available to buy.

The September #covpinclub badge is our take on the three spires that dominate the Coventry skyline. As with every Cov Pin Club badge, £1 from every badge sold is donated to a Coventry charity! The charity we are partnering with in September is YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire who support local young people with accommodation, advice, guidance and training.

Finally we have this months pin badge for October which is Lady Godiva*, of course this is available to buy now. This is the pin badge I’ve been sent to talk about today.

The fourth Coventry Pin Club pin badge celebrates the Coventry figure that is perhaps best-known around the world, Lady Godiva. £1 from every Lady Godiva badge sold in October is donated to Shine A Light Support Service who support families in Coventry and Warwickshire who are affected by childhood cancer. An exceptionally worthy cause, I’m sure you’ll agree!

Like the batch, I have a fond memory of my first time in Coventry town centre with Dane when we went on one of our first shopping trips together. I’d been in Coventry a couple of times before we’d met, but I never knew about the Godiva clock in Coventry’s Broadgate House. Dane asked me if I’d ever seen her pop out before.

“What naked lady?” I asked.

“Well it’s nearly midday so we’ll stand here and wait for her to come out.” Dane said. We waited for the couple of minutes in the light rain for the naked Lady Godiva to pop out, but that day she never did.

We tried a couple of times to see her, but we never really got to. Dane Googled about it whilst I was writing this post and apparently it broke 7 months ago, so if you’ve tried to see it recently and it hasn’t work, that’s why.

Instead of waiting for it one day whilst in town, we had a look on YouTube instead. It’s interesting enough and I get why Dane wanted me to see it.

So when I was sent the Lady Godiva pin, it did have a very special memory behind it for myself, which I feel is something that Aaron wanted to bring to his designs! I feel if you’re from Coventry or have lived there for a long time you’ll definitely love these pin designs and they’ll have a fond place in your hearts as well a provoke memories for you. They definitely remind me of when me and Dane first became a couple and although I’ll never move to Coventry, the place does have some amazing memories for me.

The pin badge itself is limited edition and I have number 67. I love that each pin has its own number, it makes it feel more limited and special. The pin is a nice size and isn’t anything big and obnoxious (like my pin badges usually are! :P) which I really like. I feel like it means anyone can wear them from children to the elderly.

The pin badge comes with a blue rubber back, which are my favourites! I hate those silver squeeze lock backs, I feel like they don’t hold pins properly.

I have to say for the size, the quality and fine details of the pin badge are AMAZING! You get the detail of the horse and Lady Godiva perfectly.

It’s a really lightweight pin, which I really like too. I’m used to bigger pins, which sometimes weigh a little more. Again, this will make it perfect to pin on anything for anyone of any age.

Every pin badge that Etch & Pin have released to date all remind me of Coventry and spark certain memories, which I love so much! I especially love that profits from these pins are donated to all sorts of Coventry based charities, it’s absolutely amazing and Aaron is doing such an amazing thing.

I feel like this is too nice to wear to be honest with you and due to it being limited edition I think it will stay on my pin flag alongside my other pins.

With Christmas looming I would love to pick some of these up for Dane’s family, including his mom and gran as I find these will make lovely gifts for people from Coventry, especially people who collect pin badges.

I mentioned how I was also sent the It’s a Batch fridge magnet and as soon as I opened the package and saw it tucked by the pin badge, it went straight onto my fridge! I’m not a massive fridge magnet person, but I have a couple from Fuerteventura (my second home) and now I have Coventry on there, which of course is where Dane is originally from.

Overall I love Etch & Pin’s designs. Although they personally don’t remind me of home (due to the fact I’m a dirty Brummy…) they do remind me of Dane and his home, as well as the memories we shared together when we first got together. These pin badges really are something special and they’ve clearly had a lot of love and care put into them by Aaron. The fact they give to the members of Coventry, as well as Coventry charities is wonderful and I wish more people would do stuff like this.

If you like what Etch & Pin do, make sure to check out their Etsy store, as well as their social media, which I’ll link down below!

Autumn Tag 2018

We are officially 2 weeks into autumn now and whilst I was walking home yesterday after a lovely sushi and shopping date with my friend Sophie, I took some pictures.

Earlier that day Michael from mnealewriting tagged me to take part in the autumn tag. I can never turn down a tag post, especially one about autumn! Over the years I’ve done more autumn tag posts than I can remember. I don’t care though, my thoughts on autumn seem to change each year. 😛

So get yourself a lovely hot drink and a blanket as this is going to be a long tag, enjoy!

What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

When the trees start turning into that gorgeous orange colour we all know, that chill in the air in the mornings and evenings as you travel to and from work and when it starts to get darker earlier.

What is your favourite Autumn scent?

I definitely love scents like salted caramel and other baked scents. Especially when they’re warming and comforting.

What is your favourite Autumn colour?

Mustard, for sure! I do like burgundy too, but my love of this shade has diminished as the years have gone on. Mustard has always been a firm favourite though.

Are you a fan of PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte)

Hell no. It tastes of sugar, type 2 diabetes and heart failure.

What is your favourite Autumn drink?

I can’t say I have a favourite to be honest with you. Autumn and winter are definitely times when hot chocolates rear their yummy heads and I’m always down for a mint hot chocolate, but I associate that more with Christmas. Salted caramel latte is always a good choice.

What’s your favourite coffee shop and their drink of choice?

Anywhere really, I don’t have a favourite. I’ll go to Costa for hot chocolate and flat white and Starbucks for anything else. I love an independent coffee shop near where I live as they do creme brulee in any drink and it’s pretty damn amazing! I love independent coffee shops the most to be fair.

Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pie?

Neither. I find pumpkin flavoured things to be so American and it’s really took off over here. I don’t know why though.

What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to in the next few months?

South Park! They have their new season out at the moment, which me and Dane need to watch actually. We’re also watching Attack on Titan and loving it. I keep binge watching This is England 86, 88 and 90 at the moment and it really makes me feel warm inside. It’s one of my favourite shows. To be fair I don’t really watch much TV, only catch up stuff. It’s gaming that’s happening for me the rest of the year!

What is your favourite Autumn fashion trend?

As you may have noticed I’m not all that fashionable anymore. BUT in my world of fashion… Erm… 😛 No I’m loving the tartan trend right now! I’m wearing red tartan with cream, blue/green tartan with mustard and grey tartan with anything really. 😀

What is your favourite comfort food to enjoy in the colder months?

ALL THE FOOD! No, I especially love macaroni cheese, katsu curry, fish and chips and toad in the hole with gravy and roast potatoes. All the carbs basically.

What is your favourite Autumn activity?

Going out with Dane for walks and looking at Halloween and bonfire related goodies, just before all the Christmas stuff kicks off. I also like going out for Bonfire Night, we did that for the first time together last year and it was so much fun. I’m so excited to do it again this year already.

Do you like horror movies?

LOVE THEM! We watched one with our friends Jacqui and Chris yesterday evening. We watched the new IT and it was amazing! I’d watched half of it to be fair but the ending was good. SPOILER there’s going to be a second film coming out! But we’ve all planned to watch more horror movies and probably spend Halloween together.

Do you ever do anything fun for Halloween?

Not anymore to be honest, I’m getting too old for that now. Last year we did the house up the week of Halloween and got some trick or treaters at the door. They were only little kids with parents and THEY WERE ADORABLE! I made sure to have loads of sweets for them and this year I’ll do the same if I don’t go out for Halloween. I did really enjoy their faces when I told them how scary they looked, it’s so sweet. If we go out, we’ll probably go watch a horror movie, or go watch one with our friends.

What was your favourite part about Halloween as a child?

Well I only went trick or treating once and whilst it was fun, I felt wrong knocking peoples doors for free sweets. So that never really was my favourite thing. What was, however, was every Halloween a local stationary store stocked Halloween goodies and they just seemed to have LOADS of bat themed goodies! My mom would always buy me something and one year she bought me a blow up bat you were meant to hang on the wall. A couple of months later that bat broke and it wouldn’t inflate anymore. I was upset and gutted. When Halloween came the next year, they stocked the blow up bat again and my mom bought me another. It’s still at her house somewhere! To this day I try to buy a bat themed product over Halloween.

I just thought! You know what I really looked forward to over Halloween? Greggs cupcakes with the Halloween rings on the icing! I always wanted the bat one, but one year I managed to collect all three! A pumpkin, a skull and of course the bat. Oh man, how easy we had it when we were kids. 😛

Are you a bigger fan of Bonfire Night or Halloween?

Bonfire Night. To me it’s just the icing on the cake for autumn! As soon as Bonfire Night is over that’s it, everyone gets excited and their bodies are ready for Christmas! As I said before, me and Dane went out for the first time for Bonfire Night last year and we loved it! We had such a good evening and I have some very fond memories of it. I can’t wait to find somewhere to go this year already.

Where is your dream destination to visit in Autumn?

I don’t know to be perfectly honest with you… I would like to go to Bristol again soon as whilst I felt a bit out of place when I went for our anniversary in June, I do love that little city and the artist side of it. Otherwise I don’t know really. I’m going to Essex/London on at the start of November so that will be lovely!

Do you always forget about the clocks going back?

Ha I actually did to be honest with you! I just had to Google when it is as I can’t for the life of me remember.

When do you usually start preparing for Christmas?

I already have to be fair. 😛 I usually do the start or end of October. I like it all done mid November to be honest with you so I have the rest of November and all of December to just chill out and enjoy Christmas and having money for meals out and German markets.

There we have it, that’s the autumn tag! I don’t think I’ve ever done this one before in all fairness and I LOVED it! 😀

So, who am I going to nominate?

Anyone who reads this post and loves autumn, I want you to give this tag a go! 😀 I would have tagged certain people, but I feel like the past few times I’ve just tagged the same couple of people recently and that just isn’t fair.

What’s your favourite season and why? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend. 🙂

October Wish List ’18

As I said a few days ago, how on Earth is it October already?! This year has flown by in a busy haze and I just want time to stop for a little bit. I’m writing this post over the weekend and I honestly can’t believe it’s currently 7.30pm! Where is my precious weekend going?!

What better way than to spend my evening doing blog work and listening to Radio Bam. I don’t mean for that to sound as sarcastic as it probably does. I love writing on my blog, I find it quite relaxing and it takes my mind off of anything that’s on it.

I haven’t really thought much about what items I’ll be talking about on my wish list today, but I worry it won’t be much, or at least anything exciting! Fingers crossed eh?

Well Christmas is around the corner, so I’ll definitely be needing to save monies anyway. 😛 I hope you enjoy this months wish list anyhoo!

  • Never Take It Off Can I Keep You? Necklace – (link)

I rather like NTIO and have done for years. I’ve even mentioned them on my blog before (which you can read here) and still wear the bracelet I picked up in March. I was having a nose at the Halloween collection and stumbled across this cute ghost necklace! I’d love to get it but the one thing that puts me off is it isn’t real silver, it’s plated. I sound so snobby, but I hate wearing plated jewellery, it turns your skin green! This is definitely something I’ll have to think about getting.

  • Insert Coin Clothing Persona 5 Shujin Academy Varsity Jacket – (link)

I have been pining over this jacket since it came out a couple of months back. I thought I’d mentioned it on my blog before, but alas I haven’t! The reason I haven’t bought it yet is due to the price. It isn’t the cheapest jacket in the world sadly at £65 and I’ve ummed and ahhed the decision on buying it due to that. As readers will know I went to EGX a couple of weekends back, (which was amazing by the way) which Insert Coin Clothing was also at. Sadly the size I wanted for this jacket was sold out so I couldn’t pick it up. The staff were so lovely and gave me some vouchers so I could pick up the jacket for a cheaper price, which is lovely! I can’t wait to get it for autumn and winter now.

  • Cath Kidston Otters A5 Softback Notepad – (link)

If there is a high street brand I have fallen in love with the past year it’s Cath Kidston. Their items are so adorable and vintage, you can’t go wrong at all. I especially love stuff that’s got cute animals on. I loved their fox collection so much when it was out! When I recently visited one of their stores I discovered they have quite a few cute animal collections out, including their Otters collection! This notebook is adorable and I’d love to have it as my journal for 2019! I have so many notebooks though, that I honestly don’t need anymore!

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 Remix – (link)

Years ago I picked up this game on the PS3 but considering I don’t use my PS3 as much as my PS4 anymore I’ve not really played it, sad times. The first thing me and my best friend Gabriella did at EGX was go and play Kingdom Hearts 3, which I loved SO DAMN MUCH! I really need to pick this game up soon so I can play it before the new one comes out. I forgot how much I actually enjoyed this series. I don’t know if I’ll buy this just yet as I have so many games coming out for the rest of the year. I might just ask for it for Christmas and play it with Dane. Who knows… We’ll see!

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Vol. 3 – (link)

After this post I’ll get this preordered as I want this when it comes out. I love reading manga so much and one of my favourites to read is the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid ones. They’re recently announced that they’ll be releasing a manga series about Elma, one of the dragons and equally one of my favourite dragons! I can’t wait to see what happens to Kanna next, she’s adorable.

  • Joules Lunch Box – (link)

This isn’t anything special and whilst I doubt I need a lunch box for work, I REALLY love the look of this! If anything it would probably encourage me to make sandwiches for work instead of buying them once a week. It’d also be great to take leftover dinner in. 😛 It’s just adorable and it’s a decent price for Joules too, don’t you think?

So that’s my wish list for this month! What do you guys think to some of the items I’ve added to it? What items do you have on your wish lists this month?

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week so far.

September Favourites ’18

I say this every month but honestly where is this year going and how is it already October?! I’m so excited for autumn and winter though, because as much as I love the warmer weather, I hate it in the UK! People just don’t know how to deal with it, including myself. I never have any decent summer clothes for the UK either and I was baking at work and home. URGH!

September really did fly by and I honestly do not know where the month went. Well to be fair I had a week off work so that fly by, which is always the way it works! 😛 That is definitely my last bit of holiday until April now. 😛

So with a busy month, I have SO MANY FAVOURITES TO SHARE! I sometimes struggle to be honest with you, but not this month. 😛 I hope you like this months favourites post anyhoo!

  • SBC Collagen Bath & Shower Creme.

This was a shower creme my mom recently gave to me. She loves SBC and when I lived at home I used to use the brand quite a lot. Since moving out a few years ago I’ve not touched it since, not until she recently gave me this MASSIVE bottle of collagen bath and shower creme! I use this daily now and it only takes a little bit of this and it goes such a long way. It smells floral yet sweet, I can’t quite put my finger on the scent but I really do like it, it’s different. This makes my skin feel so moisturised and fresh after use. I really do love it and so happy my mom gave it to me.

  • Barry M All in One Nail Paint.

This has been one of my favourite base and top coats for years, YEARS! My old bottle of this went out of date and was unusable, which sucks. I finally remembered to pick up a new bottle and this helped my nail polishes last SO DAMN LONG, which in turn made me so happy. I’ve been struggling to get my polishes to last longer than a day but thanks to using this it’s caused them to last just under a week. I love it and I don’t think I’ll use my nail polishes without it ever again.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bubble Bar (review here).

If there is a new bath product I love to the moon and back, it’s definitely the coconut bubble bar from The Body Shop. I feel like I’ve spoken loads about The Body Shop on my blog lately and I do apologise for that, but meh I love the brand so much and it’s thanks to me rediscovering it that has helped me start to look after my skin properly once again. These bubble bars are a real treat but I’ve used them quite a few times throughout September. It’s just made me realise how excited I am for the colder weather and coming home to a nice hot bath after a long day. I really hope The Body Shop release some limited edition scents for Christmas! I’ve linked it where the name of the product is, but I recently reviewed this, so you can check it out.

  • Barry M Molten Metal Celestial Silver Nail Paint.

When I picked up the Barry M all in one nail paint I picked up a few other bits and pieces too. It turned out I qualified for a 3 for 2 offer so I quickly ran back to the Barry M stand and picked up this gorgeous nail paint! This is part of the molten metal collection, which I own a couple of nail paints from already (you can check out the review for the holographic one here) and they’re pretty awesome. I’d seen pictures of this shade on Instagram and it is so damn pretty! I wore it during my week off work and it was so lovely to wear. I got so many compliments on it. I really need to paint my nails with it again, as well as review it. 😛

  • Carex Unicorn Magic Hand Wash.

I picked this up at the start of September as I found it in Savers. I remember hearing about this scent from Carex for AGES but could never find it anywhere! So when I found both the hand wash and the shower and bath I picked a couple of each up. I was going to mention the shower and bath but I feel like the hand wash has been used so much more. It’s such a lovely scent, which is of palma violets! I’ve never been a massive fan of the sweets, but I do really like the scent. I don’t know if this hand wash is drying my skin out of not, as I’ve always been hit and miss with Carex hand washes. I don’t care though, I love it so damn much and it’s going to be a part of my bathroom from now on!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story Season 7 Cult.

Before and during our week off I made sure that me and Dane finished catching up on American Horror Story. I would have mentioned season 6 too, but that was such a bag of shit I couldn’t even believe people enjoyed it. Season 7 which is Cult was AMAZING though and I loved it so much! I loved Evan Peter’s character, even if he was a psycho! I also loved his sister Winter too and especially loved what she wore throughout the show. It was just a great season, even if it was a little bat shit crazy… But which season of AHS ISN’T bat shit crazy? 😛 I need to start watching the new season as it’s currently airing, but it’s trying to find it to be honest.

Oh man I was so happy to have a date evening with Dane and this film was definitely that. I cried so many times throughout this and as soon as it comes out on DVD and Bluray I’ll be picking it up! It was such a lovely film and definitely one that I thought was made for adults over children. Pooh was adorable and definitely one of my favourite characters alongside Eeyore. The humour was just so dry and hilarious all at the same time! If I wasn’t crying, I was laughing. At one point I was sad for Pooh and turned to Dane to say, “Oh poor Pooh” and my voice broke as I said it was I was trying not to cry. It was hilarious! If you haven’t seen this film yet and get the chance to, honestly go and see it.

Favourite Book – Himouto! Umaru-Chan.

New month, new manga to read! I’ve not read loads of this, but enough for me to mention it here this month. I LOVED the anime so as soon as I found out the manga was FINALLY coming out in the UK I decided to order both volume 1 and 2 so I could read it. There are so many volumes coming out over a short period of time too which is pretty awesome and I love it! It’s a pretty cool manga and what you’d expect if you’ve watched the anime. It’s definitely made me chuckle when I’ve read it before going to work.

Favourite Song/Artist/Album – Myth & Roid – Voracity.

Me and Dane discovered this song thanks to the anime Overlord and we love it so damn much! We listen to it almost daily and it’s so damn catchy. I can’t remember where we were or what we were doing but I kept humming it whilst we were out and it was starting to bug me after a while. 😛 I need to find more music from this band as their sound is pretty awesome. Definitely give it a listen!

Favourite Game – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.

I hate that I go into phases when it comes to playing games and this is definitely a game I’ve played on and off for God knows how long! I do really love playing it but sometimes I just don’t have time and then other times I’ll have LOADS of time to play it! It’s so bizarre. Anyway, I’ve finally sort of got into this game and I really do love playing it. I feel like a mini detective/solicitor and it’s pretty cool. I only paid about £7.00 for it too when I picked it up, which is pretty good. Now I’m talking about it, I actually really want to go and play it.

So those were my favourites from September. I’m pretty excited for October as I plan to start my Christmas shopping and of course we have Halloween and Bonfire Night coming up, which is always good. 😛

Do you have plans for both of those things yet? What were your favourites from September too? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Flawsome Award

img_8133

I feel bad for posting 2 tag posts in a row, but I’ve been so damn busy this week that sadly I’ve not had time to sit down and think straight about what I want to write for my blog, even though I have loads of ideas.

Ross over at Man Vs Adulthood recently tagged me to take part in the Flawesome Award and I felt really loved to be tagged to do it. I love tag posts no matter what they’re about and as long as I feel able to do them, I will. Of course this one is not an exception.

About the Flawesome Award:

Created by Sophia Ismaa, the objective of the Flawesome Award is to celebrate the flaws that make us awesome. With this award, we are reminded that our flaws are unique things that can give us strength, and make us awesome. Sophia said: “Our flaws make us human, our flaws tell us more about who we are, and in turn we turn those flaws into awesome strengths. In short, our flaws make us #flawesome.”

Rules of the Flawesome Award include:

So, what are my flaws?

Urgh this post is going to be so hard for me to write today for so many reasons! I have so many flaws I ca talk about so listing 3 will probably be piss easy for me. 😛

Flaw 1 – I get wound up far too easily.

I don’t know why and although I have my suspicions as to why, I get wound up and annoyed so easily by anyone and everyone. The smallest thing can just piss me off and put me in a bad mood and it’s probably because people generally just bug me. I especially get wound up if people say things that I don’t agree with, or try to push that stuff onto me. It’s probably a trait I’ve picked up from both of my parents. We’re quite stubborn all three of us. I also blame my anxiety. If I feel anxious about a certain topic and someone is going on about it, it winds me up. I wish I couldn’t be so wound up and annoyed half the time, but meh that’s me and I don’t think I’ll ever change, sadly.

Flaw 2 – I overthink things.

This is definitely a flaw and although I like overthinking situations to prepare myself for the worst, it actually bugs me and people around me. I’ve overthought a scenario for almost all scenarios and that’s so mentally draining to be perfectly honest with you. I wish I didn’t overthink things, but at the same time whilst it’s a flaw, I also kind of like that I overthink stuff. It means I’m thoughtful of the outcomes of situations, whether they’re positive or negative thoughts.

Flaw 3 – 9 times out of 10, I actually dislike myself.

Oh what an emo flaw. I don’t know if this is technically classed as a flaw or not but I’m adding it regardless! I’m not exactly confident when it comes to myself with the way I look and whilst I get compliments almost daily from people and especially Dane, it just doesn’t do any good. I wish I could have a day where I don’t feel gross at myself but meh I don’t think this will ever happen. Definitely a flaw of mine is how much I judge myself and it sucks to be honest with you. I wish I could just not give a shit and be confident, but I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon.

Woohoo, so that is the Flawesome Award! I want to thank Ross again for tagging me to take part in it. I really hope the beauts I tagged to take part will too as it’s an eye opening post.

I’m sorry for how emo my flaws are, but meh that’s just me. 😛

Anyhoo, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

Another 10 Facts About Me!

Good morning all, I hope you’re all well and had a lovely weekend… Even if the weather was shockingly shit! 😛

Gemma over at But Gemma Darling recently tagged me to take part in the 10 Little Unknowns tag. She’s such a sweetie and one of my favourite bloggers out there, so I KNEW I had to take part in this tag!

You can find her post here. I loved all her answers!

I’ve done unknown facts posts before on my blog, but I want to try and come up with some quirky answers and facts about me that not many know. I really hope you enjoy reading this post, I know I’m going to enjoy writing it. 😛

1. My thumb bends back a bit further than it should. It’s really odd and whilst I’m not double jointed, there is something unnatural about how far back my thumb goes. It’s always been commented on and it only seems to be my right thumb that does this. I try to make it straighter and “normal” looking but it actually hurts. Maybe I am slightly double jointed? Who knows. 😛

2. I like to think of this as my nifty party trick BUT I can rap “Weird Al” Yankovic’s White N Nerdy with and without the lyrics… But I’m better WITH the lyrics of course. 😛 If you don’t know this song I’ve shown it above. It’s a really fast song to rap to and I’ve tried it on and off for the past 10 years now… So let’s just say I’ve had plenty of practise. 😛

3. I have food phobias. I don’t know how it started or when it started but meh I have it. I hate certain smells of foods, textures and even looks. The smell of thought of eating mushrooms makes me feel sick and in the past when I lived at home, my dad would fry mushrooms and once it made me throw up. Gross. I also hate the look of tomatoes, inside and out. They just don’t look like they should be eaten and that alone makes me heave.

4. Inspired by Gemma, when I was born I wasn’t breathing straight away but a good smack to the bum got me to wake up. Apparently the drugs my mom had taken for the pain had caused me to erm… Not wake up basically. I was fine though!

5. I used to be a sex toy tester and every now and again I’ll test new sex toys, but that’s once in a blue moon lately. I’m not going to name which company I tested and reviewed for, but I did used to love doing it.

6. I have a pretty sick and dark sense of humour thanks to years of watching Dirty Sanchez, Jackass and cKy on MTV, as well as many other shows. Speaking of Dirty Sanchez, I recently went to see Lee Dainton and Matthew Pritchard talk about Dirty Sanchez and got to meet the guys after. Highlight of my year! 😀

7. When I was 6 years old I looked like Hermione Granger… I hate this unknown fact about me as I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan but meh, I see the resemblance. I wish my hair still looked that amazing! I loved having wavy hair growing up. This was due to a french braid though. My hair is naturally straight. Also, look how perfect them eyebrows are! 😛

8. I roll my eyes a lot, especially when talking about people and how they annoy me. I didn’t really notice how much I do this though until Dane’s brother pointed it out to me and how I look like the one guy from TGFBro. I just seem to do it to emphasise how annoying and dumb people are and in turn how much that annoys me.

9. Growing up I loved playing video games, my love of games has grown as the years have too, but sadly my enjoyment of certain games have declined and I couldn’t honestly tell you why. I have a feeling it’s actually from watching certain people play games for years and not having a go myself. It’s just made me feel like I may as well just watch people play games instead of partaking in them myself.

10. I actually think I have tokophobia, which is a fear of being pregnant/having children. I love seeing my friends and families babies and children, but the thought of having my own fills me with dread. The thought of having a baby freaks me out for so many reasons, including changing my body, my life and especially having no fucking money. Fair play to people who do it, I don’t know how you do. I’d say I don’t know why, but that would be very unfair. Meh either way this fear is growing monthly and it sucks.

Wow we made it to the end! It took me quite a few days to do, I’m not going to lie. 😛 This post was actually meant to go up on Saturday but sadly I was just far too busy to get it done. 😦 Oh well, better late than never eh?

Do you feel like you learnt some new things about me? Let me know which one(s) you found were new facts!

Right, time to invite some awesome people to give this a go too. 😛
