Photo Diary Adventure – London

I have literally just got back from a trip to London to visit my friend Sophi, and it was very much needed! They house has been very stressful to say the least and my trip to London came up in good time. I booked the trip back in April/May, and due to that it cost me next to sod all! Only £6.00 each way! Can I hear a woo to the motherfuckin’ hoo??!!

Anyway… I decided I would do a little photo diary of my trip down to “the big smoke” (as my dad calls it), because why not?

Due to my anxiety I was really nervous about traveling on my own, but it was really straight forward. I just had to get on a train and sit for just over two hours.

My dad gave me a lift to New Street half an hour before my train was due, which I liked as it gave me time to grab a magazine, a drink (I drink a flat white with vanilla if you were curious), and get to my platform in time to get a good seat.

I managed to grab a good a window seat with a table which was good as it meant I could lean on the table and do some writing. Throughout the journey I did just that whilst listening to my music and wrote some blog posts. I was also talking to a lovely woman from New Zealand throughout the journey, and she was telling me how she had been traveling around Europe for nine weeks, and was getting close to her trip ending.

Finally after the two hour and a bit journey I arrived at London Euston, and was greeted by Sophi up by The Body Shop. YAY! I was pleased that she was able to meet me as I was anxious about getting lost attempted to get out of Euston, or going down to the underground. London does set off my anxiety a tad, even though from this trip I feel more comfortable about it now.

Day I Arrived:

As soon as we met up we decided that food was needed, and went to YO! Sushi for some lunch. We had a good gossip whilst we had our food and it was pretty standard for YO! Sushi really. If you know what I mean.

Soon as we finished our food we headed to the shops, starting off at M&M World. Me and Dane were meant to go there when we were in London last year, but we never did and so I wanted to see what I missed out on! Not going to lie… I didn’t miss much.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 3 05 47 pm_zpsdxfws9aq.jpg

Don’t get me wrong, M&M World was good and is definitely somewhere you need to go at least once, but the only thing I liked about it was the pictures I got to take with Sophi. A lot of the products for sale were well overpriced and whilst they were nice, I wouldn’t buy them for myself. Only a massive M&M fan will get a kick from this place. Alas, I didn’t. It was cool though, and I loved nosing at all the stuff that they had on offer, especially the create your own M&M’s! But they were extortionate prices so I left it… Otherwise I would have bought some for me and Dane for when we move into the house.

The next shop we popped in was just next door, which is the Nickelodeon Shop. I prayed that they would sell some Adventure Time goodies, but sadly they didn’t. The majority of stuff for sale in there wasn’t anything I was really interested in, such as Spongebob Square Pants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paw Patrol, and Dora the Explorer. They did have something I was interested in mind, even if the section was only small. The Rugrats selection they had wasn’t very big, with only four pieces of clothing on offer, including the t-shirt that I picked up. I will show it off a lot better on a haul post soon, but I love this t-shirt so much! I loved watched the show growing up, so it has some nostalgia to it.

After that we had a walk around various places all the while including (name of shop) which is an old sweet shop, where I got a few goodies, Hamley’s, Japan Centre, and then we went to Choccywoccydoodah!

Choccywoccydoodah is a chocolate shop that also make cakes. But the store in London has a café at the top of the shop which me and Sophi ventured to for a naughty chocolate lunch. I had never heard of it until she told me about it, and insisted that we go. It was pretty damn amazing to be honest… The café that is! It was all done out and reminded me of Moulin Rouge. We had orange lemonade and some dark chocolate melted in pots with biscuits to dunk. It was a real treat to say the least and I’ll definitely be going again, especially with Dane.

As much as I loved the café upstairs I sadly can’t say I felt the same about the shop downstairs. I’m being honest, but I just found that it looked tacky and was crazily overpriced. I guess I’m just a boring cow and love my cakes plain and simple. Is that such a crime? Although I say this I bought me and Dane some chocolate to try, because why not?

After a spot of chocolate overdose we headed to Oxford Street, what I was most excited about! I don’t know why I love shopping on Oxford Street so much but I have a feelings it’s due to how big the shops are. Of course the first shop we had to go into was Lush, why would I pass that up?!

I had some black pots that I wanted to exchange for a face mask, and I knew for ages that I wanted to give Prince of Darkness a go. A lovely member of staff let me try it, as well as a few other face masks on the back of my hand. I knew I’d like this face mask due to the charcoal, and I cannot wait to try it and now and review it for you guys. Alongside that I also picked up a few other goodies including my Oxford Street favourite Supertramp bubble bar, and the new bath bomb Lava Lamp. I was very good to say the least and didn’t buy more things, even though strangely I didn’t want much more.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 21 30 pm_zpsfyxqrwte.jpg

After this we looked around various other shops on Oxford Street before our final destination being Topshop. Oh my God, it was huge, I couldn’t believe it to be honest. The floor you walk into is just nothing but accessories, no clothes or anything. I was taken back by how much stuff there was on the floor, including a Bubbleology, and a Lola’s Cupcakes. We bought some bubble tea from there to drink, and I’m not going to sugar coat it, the staff were rude and it wasn’t made properly. I drink bubble tea a lot and watch how it’s made, so I know when it’s been right or not.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 35 41 pm_zpsflnuvyna.jpg

Other than that, I wasn’t completely disappointed by my trip into the Oxford Street Topshop. I ended up buying a real treat from there that I will love for years, my new yellow raincoat. YES I said yellow! 😛 I will talk more about it in my haul that will be up in a few days, but I wore this for the majority of my stay in London, and it was so cosy, and warm, and of course was waterproof for all the crap rain we had down there. I cannot wait to do some look book posts with it.

After that we finally decided to call it a day and headed home. We stayed up until late nattering away about all sorts, as well as planning what we could do the next day!

Day One:

I woke up bright and early for the long, and exciting day ahead of us. In fact I woke up a whole two hours before Sophi did! It was because a delivery van woke me up and I couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to text Dane for a while as he got ready for work, and was at the house. I also sorted out my suitcase by putting stuff in there what I had bought the day before.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 12 31 43 pm_zpsptqv9kqz.jpg

The weather wasn’t exactly amazing whilst I was down there and the majority of the time it rained… The full day I was there wasn’t any different and it rained a lot! Good job I had my new raincoat, eh? 😛

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 01 47 pm_zps5qeb0atj.jpg

Something I loved about getting the train from where Sophi lives (Harlow) is on the way into London you can see the gherkin, and The Shard! I had to of course get a sneaky picture of this.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 34 28 pm_zpsvxq9t5wp.jpg

We had already decided months before that we would be going shopping at the Stratford shopping centre, but not until we had gone to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch! I wanted to go when me and Dane were in London but as never really got time, and we worried we wouldn’t like what was on the menu, as he isn’t a massive fan of fish.

I really enjoyed going there, and I loved the food we shared too. Sophi had been before, she knew what to recommend for us to eat. When I had looked at the menu back when I ordered my train tickets I decided on a chicken burger, but what’s the point in going to a shrimp restaurant if you eat chicken??? Exactly! In the end I decided on a cherry fizzer drink, and for food we ordered garlic bread (which let me tell you were HUGE!), shrimp shack mac & cheese, and Forrest’s seafood feast.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 46 34 pm_zpsb4gnm7zp.jpg

Not only did I enjoy the food, but I loved the decor of the restaurant too! To make it better, they had Forrest Gump playing in the background, which I loved. It isn’t the cheapest place in the world, but £39 for two people and drinks wasn’t bad in my eyes. I would and will gladly go again.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 4 08 03 pm_zpsaqqnwehf.jpg

So our next stop was the Stratford shopping centre! Which I was really excited to go to as I have heard nothing but good things about it from Sophi, and I also heard how big it is before I went down to London. If you’ve never been, it is like two Birmingham Bullring’s, if not bigger than that!

I saw various things I liked and wanted to buy, and various things I liked and ended up being naughty and picking up. These are in my haul post here.

The one thing I really regret not picking up was this Deadpool picture from HMV. I can’t even find it on the website to order! As I always say on majority of my posts these days, I love Deadpool, and so does Dane. I would love this picture to put up in the spare room, as it would just look awesome! It wasn’t cheap at £14.99, but to be honest I don’t mind paying that for Deadpool. I can see me picking this up next time I’m near a HMV.

I also eyed up this Totoro bento box in The Japan Centre, but I didn’t get it because of the size of it, and I don’t really need it. It was only £12.99, so maybe next time I’ll pick one up!

Then after I was shopped out and very tired, me and Sophi headed home (aka her flat) and relaxed for the evening. We had something to eat, and watched Lilo and Stitch before we went to bed. I was shattered so we got an early night. Before I went to sleep I tidied my suitcase so that I wouldn’t need to do it the  next day.

Going Home:

It was time to head home, and as my train wasn’t due to leave until 2.13pm it meant we could chill out for a while in the flat before heading into London. We didn’t do much really, just made sure my bag was all packed and such, as well as have some breakfast and get showered and dressed.

We left the house nice and early to make sure we were in Euston for time to have a coffee before I left and a chat. We popped to Starbucks and Sophi treated me to their new S’Mores drink (which was really nommy!) and a toastie. I showed her Bee & Puppycat, and we chatted about what she could do with the rest of her day.

Eventually it came to be time for me to get onto my train, and I was really sad to be saying goodbye. I had an amazing couple of days with Sophi, and I honestly cannot wait to do it again soon!

My train journey wasn’t as quiet as it was going into London, and I couldn’t wait for people to get off at stops so I could just chill out. I was going to try and get a blog post or two written, but in the end I just played games on my phone and listened to music.

Eventually I got back to New Street, and good ol’ Brum with my dad waiting to pick me up.

As much as I loved London and seeing Sophi, I just wanted to get back home so I could give Dane his box of goodies, as well as start working on the house again. It was nice to have a break and escape reality for a while, but you can’t run away forever.

I’m hoping to go down to London again soon to stay with Sophi, as it’s just too much fun to wait until Christmas to go again! I also apologise for not having so many pictures towards the end of this post, I was kinda too busy to take anymore. 😛

I’m hoping to start doing more photo diary related posts, as I love reading things like this myself. Did you enjoy this style of post from me? Make sure to let me know in the comments! If you liked it, I’ll certainly do more.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a great weekend.

Depends I suppose… I like both for different reasons, but I often prefer winter.

4. Where is somewhere you would love to travel to?

What I wore (13th July 2013)

I can’t believe it’s been nearly 4 months since my last what I wore post, it’s been ages hasn’t it? However, as regular readers will know I’ve been going through a rough patch since March, so the last of what I wore posts was to be expected.

But I’m back and I have someone else who can take my pictures now, my partner. He did an awesome job and I’m really pleased with how the pictures turned out!

On the hottest day of the year (so far anyway) we decided to go out into the countryside for a drive and a walk around. We didn’t have a clue to go and just went left or right at junctions, hoping to get ourselves somewhere random. We ended up in Leamington Spa and went to a lovely park there. We walked around for ages, even went through dark woods, stinging nettles and some nats to get to where we wanted to explore.

It was a lovely day and I’m excited at the aspect of doing it again, my partner is awesome when it comes to adventures.

Dress – Dorothy Perkins.

Spiked flats – Topshop.

Pink see through clutch – New Look.

Wayfarer sunglasses – Ray Ban.

Necklace – Present from my Mom.

I love this dress so much, I spoke about it briefly in this post after my Mom buying it me whilst we were out shopping. It’s light, looks cute for spring and summer and will compliment any figure, it also makes your bum and boobs look a little bigger than they actually are and your tummy smaller than it actually is. I couldn’t wait to wear this out, the first time was for my aunts birthday and second time for our little adventure.

I teamed this look up with my spiked flats, I love spikes and no matter what season it is, I’ll be wearing them. They were perfect walking shoes and looked great with the outfit, showed I’m not just dainty and innocent in my floral pink dress!

I bought my clutch bag on Wednesday and have been using it all weekend. I love this bag so much! I remember at the start of the year when fashion bloggers were going crazy for them and I was one of them. I scoured the internet for hours trying to find one but the only place I had luck with was eBay, but because everyone wanted one like myself they were mostly sold out, only coming in a clear black. Who wants clear black, I mean why does that even exist!? I’d spied the clear and see through pink clutches in New Look for a while now and thought, why not? For £9.99 it’s been worth every penny and a bag I know I’ll use throughout the summer for nights out, hell maybe even winter too!

Finally you can’t go wrong with a pair of Ray Bans. Every year like every garment and accessory you wear, sunglasses change to suit the trend of the season but Ray Bans NEVER go out of style! I’ve owned my Wayfarers just over a year now and I love them, they’ll look great year after year and because of this they were worth every penny I paid for them. If you have thought about getting a pair of Ray Bans whether they be Wayfarers, Aviators or Clubmasters, then I say go for it if you have the money because they’ll look amazing!

I really like what I wore out over the weekend and I know I would wear it out again!

Yesterday was so much fun, I haven’t been out like that for months so it was nice to get out and have a relaxing drive, walk and just to talk and relax and I couldn’t have chosen a better person to have done that with. 🙂

I’m just excited for more days out like this in the future! 😀

During out walk we stumbled across a little kids playground. The tire swing was broken, much to my distraught as I love tire swings! However we did find some weird sort of swing contraption that we both had a play on. It was really weird and if I had of been wearing jeans or a pair of shorts with my skate shoes, I’d have been more inclined to have stood up on it like my partner did. However as you can see I just sat on it, trying to look as ladylike as possible.

I’d love to go back to this park we visited, it was so beautiful and will be an amazing place to visit during the autumn season when everything is orange and red, oh beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed this what I wore post, I’ve missed doing them so much and with my partner being so willing (and better than my parents at taking the pictures may I add!) to take my pictures for them, I can see them popping up more often now.

What did you wear nice and cooling on the hottest day of the year? Let me know in the comments and tag a picture if you want to!

I’m off to go and sit outside in the sunshine before my partner gets back home, hope your week has gone off to a flying start, see you soon.

I someday hope to fill my own Adventure Book…

Image taken from weheartit.com

Once again this isn’t a beauty or a fashion related post but more of a personal and travel one.

I’ve recently decided on places I wish to see before I die and I’d like to see them sooner rather than later.

The only place I have ever traveled to is Fuerteventura which is my second home and the place I would love to make my first home in the future.

I have wondered over the past two years about where I want to go in the world and why I want to go and explore these places. I have different reasons for each but to be perfectly honest, I think they all have food related reasons, as well as others of course.

I have five places I wish to see the most, these being:

Canada, Finland, New York, New Zealand and Japan… Not in that order though! I just popped them alphabetically.

New York

Image taken from weheartit.com

When I was around the age of 10 I remember watching Home Alone 2 with my Dad and him telling me of all the places he had visited in New York when he went out there for work when he was younger. “I’ll take you to the Twin Towers when you’re older” he promised, but of course that was never meant to be and after 9/11 the idea of us going to New York faded away. I was devastated, for years I’d looked forward to the day when my Dad would come home and say we were going. When I started college in 2006 I began watching Sex & The City and it brought back the idea of going to New York and I grew obsessed with the idea! I know so many people who have been and come back telling me how amazing is it there for the sights, the shops and especially the food.

With New York I don’t want to go for the sights, I had that dream years ago when I was a kid and after 9/11 it faded away. I want to go and find the places that people don’t go and explore because they’re too busy looking at everything everyone is paying to see. I wouldn’t know where to start, but I reckon I’ll figure that out as and when I go there.

As I mentioned before, I want to go to New York for the shops and the food! I’ve watched many beauty gurus on YouTube vlog their adventures at The Great Apple and the places they go for food is amazing. Pancake houses, BBQ, cute pastry places, pizza the size of your head, ice creams of every flavour imaginable. You name it, New York probably has it and I want to see these bloody places!

I don’t know when I’ll go to New York but one day it WILL be a reality. I’ll make sure of that!

Canada

Image taken from weheartit.com

CANADA home of poutine! If you don’t know what poutine is it’s pretty much chips/fries with chunks of mozzarella cheese and gravy. I’ve made this for myself many times but I want to try it the way Canadian’s make it.

But this isn’t the only reason I want to visit Canada of course! I can’t remember when I realised I wanted to visit Canada, but it’s up there in the top 3! A beauty guru from Canada I watch on YouTube used to take photography and she often vlogged her adventures of going into the countryside in Canada to take her pictures and it just looked so beautiful, especially in the Spring and Autumn months, which are both my favourite times of year.

People from Canada just seem so laid back, which is something I need a little more of in my life. I’d love to visit Canada in the Winter too when there’s thick snow everywhere to go and play in. Who cares if it’s cold, it’s fun!

Plus, am I the only one who thinks of South Park The Movie when it comes to Canada? I feel sorry for the Canadian’s in that movie, but at the same time I can see the funny side, and I’m not even American OR Canadian.

Some awesome people come from Canada too! One of my favourite You Tuber’s like MattG124, myeyeshadowisodd, FLuffeeTalks and JyuusanKaidan (although she currently lives in Japan…). As well as that Deadmau5, one of my favourite musicians comes from Canada.

I just want to be able to go there for about a month to explore so much of Canada, maybe during autumn season, they have an amazing theme park there called Wonderland and although I don’t like theme parks much, from images it looks absolutely beautiful.

I’d explore the majority  of Canada with my digital SLR!

Japan

Image taken from weheartit.com

Since I was the age of 17, I’ve wanted to visit Japan. From a young age I have been interested in anime and manga but when I was 6 years old my brother started dating a Chinese woman who I loved to bits. She was so lovely, honest and down to Earth and was mixed race Chinese, her mother was Chinese whilst her father was English. She was from Hong Kong and visited her family a lot out there, even taking my brother with her on the odd occasion. One time she bought me back loads of cute goodies and I loved them all. I remember saying, “This stuff is all so cute and adorable!” and she responded with, “I know I’m Chinese but in Japanese they say ‘kawaii’ for something cute. You should try saying it sometime!” So I gave it a go and it’s stuck.

So I’ve always liked cute things, I went to school with some Korean students and they were lovely, the one even brought us back some cute things from Korea when he went back for Christmas. To this day I’ve kept all the cute things he brought me back, it was so nice and thoughtful of him and he knew how much I loved that sort of stuff.

Before studying for my GCSE’s I learnt about Japan and their culture, which I thought was so beautiful and different to how we do things. In our house we don’t wear shoes inside or around the house due to dirt from the outside and I know when I move out, this rule will remain the same.

I want to visit Japan for their culture, their kawaii things and especially the fashion! Japanese fashion although weird at times, is amazing and is where most of the top designers get their ideas from. Since the Spice Girls started their short dresses and huge platform shoes, the Japanese have carried it on over the years, it only coming back into fashion recently because of them!

I know if and when I go on holiday in Japan I will want to take with me an empty suitcase and bring it back home full of clothes and goodies!

Japan has some awesome food too… Not sushi but ramen! I prefer Chinese food over Japanese to be perfectly honest, so I would go more for their culture, their beautiful countryside and to visit their fashion stores.

Japan is the next place I want to visit and I’ve recently been watching a few You Tuber’s who aren’t from Japan but currently live and study there. I would love to study in Japan for a year teaching English and is something my friend Gabriella and I discussed about a year ago.

I really want to learn Japanese too, but it seems extremely awkward, but I can see myself setting it as a goal for 2014, to learn Japanese by 2015… Or as least the bog standard parts anyway!

When my boyfriend and I first got together we discussed about saving up and going on holiday to Japan whilst watching Spirited Away. I’d still love to go with him, it’d be lovely.

Finland

This is one of the newest discoveries of places I would like to go visit. After I quit my job and was in search of a new one, I watched a lot of The Dudesons and whilst they’re hilarious, do stupid things etc I soon discovered what a beautiful country it appears to be and what an amazing language they speak too.

I fast learnt their swear words and was being naughty and using them at work whenever something annoyed me or didn’t go right. Customers wouldn’t have a clue what I was saying and neither did the people I worked alongside, so it suited me well! I would love to learn Finnish as it really is a beautiful language and from what I’ve heard, not a very heard one to learn either!

I reckon it would be amazing to visit Finland in the winter time, especially around Christmas due to the holidays being celebrated, and also to go snowboarding too. But from researching it with my boyfriend before, it’s pretty expensive.

I’d want to go with my digital SLR, lots of warm layers and some Finnish words so that I could go exploring, as it really looks like a beautiful place to visit, even if it’s suicide rate is one of the highest in Europe (apparently!).

New Zealand

Since Lord of The Rings came out, I’ve wanted to go visit New Zealand. It just looks like such a beautiful wide and vast country to visit and Kiwi’s seem so down to Earth people.

I really want to visit New Zealand to go and visit Hobbiton where The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings was filmed. I love The Hobbit and I’m counting down the days until 13th December when the second Hobbit film is out! The little Hobbit houses just look so quaint and cute and I would just love to go and have a look around them and take pictures.

This being said, I just love the look of New Zealand. It looks very countryside and like you could get lost exploring everywhere. As well as this they have their beautiful beaches and it’d be a fun place to have a go at surfboarding or even just going out on a boat for the day.

As for their food, I don’t know much about it, but I have a feeling it would be really yummy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have really good Chinese food down there though… Just sayin’.

Their accents are amazing and one of my favourites, I could listen to it all day and I’m a little sad that I don’t have any Kiwi friends! I used to know someone who was from New Zealand and she moved here from there a good three or four years ago but we didn’t talk all that much, even though she lived a 20 minute drive from my house! She had the cutest accent ever, it was a high-pitched, quiet but strong New Zealand accent and I loved it!

This would be a place I would want to visit for quite a while as I would want enough time to explore everything there was to explore. New Zealand seems like a big place and with so much to explore, a week or two wouldn’t be enough for me.

So that’s all the places I want to visit in my life before I die. The first one on the list is Japan and I know for a fact after going there the once I’ll want to go there again and again and again!

Where do you want to go before you die?

Let me know in the comments below!

I hope everyone’s week is going well, mines been lovely so far as I’ve had the past two days and today off work.

Until next time, take care.
