July Favourites ’22

I can’t quite believe how quickly July has flown by, it’s crazy to think it’s August on Monday. After the suffocating few days of heat we had a couple of weeks ago, I am READY for autumn and winter for some colder days, weekend baths and getting cosy in some of my favourite clothes. Who else agrees with me? 😀

I mentioned last month that I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about July and to be honest with you all, July has been a shit month for me. Without going into too much detail, my mental health hasn’t been good and I’m kind of at a bit of a loss at times. This sounds really sad, it isn’t as bad as it sounds, I think it’s just a lot of stuff happening in all different parts of my life and it does suck. I’ll be okay though, I’ve been through worse. 🙂

With the doom and gloom out of the way, I’m semi excited for August! I have a dad and daughter day planned next week, as well as some days off to spend with time Dane and do some dog sitting, which we’re both looking forward to! I really hope August is kinder to my mental health. :’)

Enough of me rambling, on with the monthly favourites!

Beauty – Soap & Glory The Real Zing body wash and body sorbet.

I mentioned in my July wish list last earlier this month how I really wanted to pick up the Soap & Glory The Real Zing body wash and body sorbet. I did end up picking these up just before we had the few days of extreme heat and I’m so glad I did, as the body sorbet really did help cool down my skin. The Real Zing collection smells gorgeous, zingy lemon and lime and if you loved the Sugar Crush range, you’ll definitely love this! The body wash is really creamy and a little goes a long way on my silicone sponge. The scent doesn’t last or stay strong, but it’s great for mornings in the shower when you need to wake up. After using the body wash, I apply the body sorbet, which is definitely a sorbet/gel texture. A little goes a long way and feels lovely and cooling when applying to the skin. The only flaw I have with the body sorbet is the more you rub, it starts to ball up and look like dead skin, which is never a good look! The scent doesn’t last to be honest and I’ve yet to receive a compliment of, “Ooo you smell nice!” like what I get with the Sol de Janeiro goods I use. Alongside that, as The Real Zing contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) there is a warning on the packaging for both the body wash and body sorbet of a sunburn alert! AHA may increase skins sensitivity, hence the warning. Typical I bought this and then the heatwave hit us! This being said, I’ve been fine. One thing I’ll say is I don’t know if I’ll buy these again, as although the price was amazing and these leave my skin feeling lovely and soft, I think I’d rather spend more on Sol de Janeiro so the scent lasts longer.

TV Show – Barry, season one-three.

Barry is a TV show that started in 2018 that someone I work with told me about. The someone in question tends to have good taste when it comes to shows, movies, games, etc. So, me and Dane decided to give it a go and we LOVE it! Barry is about Barry, an ex army hitman, who one day moves state for a hitman job and finds out he wants to quit being a hitman to pursue an acting career. This isn’t straight forward for Barry however. If you like the sound of this, make sure to watch the trailer! If you love Dexter and Bill Hader (who stars and created Barry) then you will love this show! We’re almost at the end of season three and can’t wait to see how it ends, especially as season four has been confirmed!

Music – Teardrops – Bring Me The Horizon and Spaceman – Electric Callboy.

Music wise has been a bit “odd” this month for me as I wasn’t really all that fussed about what I was listening to, but a couple of songs that stand out are these. Whenever they came on, I just felt the need to jam out, sing loudly or just bop my head if I was at work. I love rock music like this. 😀

Game – The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse.

This is a game Dane bought many years ago now for us to play together! It’s a (name) which I’ve never played previously, or since picking up The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse to play with Dane. This is such a cute game, with amazing vintage style music and hours of play. Your character is brought back every 100 years to take on Mormo’s curse, with the sword of Ditto in hand. It’s up to you to bring peace to the land. You’ll keep dying until you reach the end and with cough co-op, you can do it with a friend, like what me and Dane have done. We semi rage quitted this game as we kept dying and coming back, however we recently picked it up during the heatwave to try and see if we could finally finish it. We thought we had… We still have a lot more gameplay and hours to put into this game, but it’ll definitely be worth it in the end! We picked this up on Nintendo Switch and I highly recommend it to others!

Just a few of my favourite things…

OkieDoodleStitches Pokemon Eevee cross stitch.

If there is one thing I really got back into doing during Covid it was cross stitch. It’s a hobby I picked up when I was ten and my mom bought me a Forever Friends cross stitch kit for Christmas. Not going to lie, I still haven’t completed that, but it’s in the bottom of my embroidery box, waiting to be completed! I’m sure I’ll finish it one day… Anyway, it all started with working through some of the patterns from diyCrossing that are Animal Crossing inspired. These have been a lot of fun and I do plan to do more, but I was after Pokemon cross stitch kits/patterns to try next. I went to Etsy and found some cross stitch patterns from artist Sevi Yummy, whose work I adore! OkieDoodleStitches is the one behind bringing Sevi’s work to cross stitch patterns, which I’m so grateful for! I decided to go with the Eevee design as the first and throughout July I’ve been working on it on and off, especially towards the end of July. I don’t think this piece will be finished for another week or so, but I’m so excited to finish it! I’m showing you some of the progress so far, but I would like to write a blog post about it in the future. What do you guys think, should I? 😀

Black Milk Clothing Trash Pandas Dress.

This piece by Black Milk Clothing quickly made it’s way onto my DISO (desperate in search of) dress after I didn’t purchase it months ago. The trash pandas design is by Caley Hicks, an American designer who works with Disney, as well as on her own goods, including this amazing trash pandas design! I’d asked BMC ages ago about making this design a reality and low and behold they did it! I doubt it was because of me, but yeah. 😛 Anyway, I was told by one of my friends that BMC had listed the trash pandas strappy dress as seconds and it was a hell of a lot cheaper than it had been originally, so I had to snag myself a bargain! Raccoons are one of my favourite animals, and I feel like they’re my spirit animal too, so I’m so happy to not only own a piece from BMC that was designed by Caley Hicks, but also with these cuties on! I’m yet to wear this, as I don’t like wearing strappy pieces that show off my arms, plus it’s very low cut… So, as you can see from the image above, I need to layer this with a t-shirt underneath. I’m hopeful I can wear it with a thin jumper in the winter!

Pokemon Center Alolan Vulpix AirPods Pro case.

I mentioned on my July wish list that I was planning to pick up a new AirPod Pro case form the Pokemon Center and I’m so glad I did! I didn’t exactly need a new AirPod case, but the one I was using previously was about a month old and the lid kept coming off, which was incredibly annoying, so I wanted to grab something a little more sturdy. The Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales one isn’t just a massive improvement quality wise, but it’s bloody adorable, as the photos are showing I’m sure! I’ve had so many nice compliments on it, which is always appreciated, and I’m planning to grab a beaded bracelet keychain soon so I can attach it onto the hook of the case. If you’re looking to grab a new AirPod Pro case make sure to check out Meccha Japan for a cute one, as they have a massive range to choose from!

The Folky Fox ghost fox necklace.

The Folky Fox is an amazing artist who creates adorable pieces from polymer clay, including jewellery. I picked up my ghost fox necklace last year around Halloween and have only just started to wear it, as I was anxious I would ruin/break it before. I’m so glad I’ve started to wear it though now as with my mental health no being great, when I’ve worn my necklace it’s really cheered me up as it’s absolutely adorable and includes two of my favourite things. I’d love to look at buying another necklace from The Folky Fox in the future, including the flying fox/bat necklace. If you like the look of the fox ghost necklace and would like to get one of your own, The Folky Fox has pre-orders open at the time of writing this post, so please make sure to go and adopt one. 🙂

I’m an affiliate for oshoppu!

Finally I want to share some exciting news that happened yesterday which is… I become an affiliate for oshoppu! This is amazing news and I’ve been really excited to share it with you guys on my favourites for the month. This is a relatively new store that has come to my attention, which sell Japanese stationary, apparel and kawaii goodies including plushies. I’m hoping to place an order in the near future as I’ve seen a plushie I’d really like to get to add to my collection! If you guys want to check them out, I’ll pop the link here. It’s now on the right hand side of my blog BUT if you do want to make an order, make sure you use code THEREMIGHTBECOFFEEBLOG to save 10% on your orders!

So there we have it guys, my monthly favourites for July!

How was July for you and what did you get up to? Make sure to let me know in the comments, as well as what were some of your favourite things, and if you have anything exciting happening in August. 😀

July Wish List ’22

How are we already into the first week of July? This month is already flying by, it’s crazy. The past week has flown by for me and it has been a mixture of ups and downs, mostly the latter unfortunately. I’m hopeful that things will turn around soon however, as I’d like to try and spend days less mopey and more cheerly, especially as we get some nicer weather too.

June was an expensive month for me with our trip away to Manchester and other things we did, and with me trying to be better than money, I told myself I’d be good in July. Alas, so far I have not been good at all and I’m now banning myself from buying anything else until payday at the end of the month. This month I decided to get back into cross stitch, which wasn’t exactly cheap as I had to buy a lot of thread and some patterns. This being said it’s definitely been worth it as I’m really enjoying doing the pattern I bought and it’s a big one, so it’ll keep me going for quite some time! Plus, as I’m part of diyCrossing’s Patreon, I get access to lots of Animal Crossing themed patterns, so I can always do some of those too!

So, this months wish list will be items I’ve pre-ordered, need to get as staples, and items I’ll be saving to pick up in the future as a monthly treat. I really do need to be good now, I made a lot of big purchases this month. Spending ban has to come back! That being said, I really hope you enjoy this months wish list, the colour palette for it is so pretty!

  • Pokemon Center Alolan Vulpix AirPods Pro Case – (link)

At the time of writing this post (day before it’s due to go live!), I have literally just discovered this AirPods pro case and I really do want/need it in my life! My AirPods currently have a cheaper ghost case on them, which I do love but it would be nice to mix it up, especially if I can get an official Pokemon one. The Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales designs for this collection is adorable, and it’s actually been quite a while now since a Pokemon collection has come out where I’ve really liked at least one item from it! As there is a little hook on the side of the case too, I’d look to try and find a special keychain/bracelet to wear when I use them to go walking.

  • Sugary Carousel Puppermint Plush – (link)

This is an item I have preordered from Sugary Carousel as whilst I don’t need anymore plushies, I fell in love with their Puppermint design! I love dogs and as a kid I always loved mint chocolate chip ice cream, so this just felt like a must have purchase for me. I didn’t quite realise how big this plushie is either, but it’s approximately ten to eleven inches tall, which is huge! This won’t ship until December, which I don’t mind, as I’ll class it as an early Christmas/birthday present for me. 😛 Not going to lie, the shipping for this item was so expensive, but it’ll be worth it! The quality of the plush looks really nice and soft.

  • Shirayukinikki Jiji & Lily’s Bakery 16 oz Glass Tumbler – (link)

I discovered Shirayukinikki recently on Instagram and since then I’ve really fallen in love with their pieces, especially their glass tumblers, with the Kiki’s Delivery Service themed one grabbing my attention the most! I’d love to pick this up in the future, but as Shirayukinikki is an American based small businesses, I’m wary the shipping costs will be a lot. This being said, it would make such a cute addition to my home, especially as recently I’ve started to make my own iced coffee, and plan to start having a go at making my own matcha bubble tea!

  • Soap & Glory The Real Zing Body Wash and Body Sorbet – (link) and (link)

I kind of forgot how much I like the Soap & Glory range as I was using up the Sugar Crush body buttercream recently. Their stuff smells divine and it’s especially perfect for summer due to that. I’ve decided when I’ve used up The Body Shop goods I have currently, I’ll be picking up some stuff from The Real Zing collection, including the body wash and the body sorbet. I gave them a sniff during my short stay in Manchester and really liked how fresh and summery they smelt! Plus, I can imagine them giving me an extra wake up during and after my morning showers before I start the work day in the week. These are currently on offer too, so I may take advantage of them sooner, rather than later.

  • Pokemon TCG Vulpix Seasons Playmat – (link)

We started this months wish list with Pokemon and we’re going to finish it with Pokemon too, and to boot they’re both Vulpix themed items too, which I find funny! I love how the Pokemon Center UK website is updating daily pretty much, and I especially love that we’re slowly seeing items land to the UK store that the Japan and American store have had for years! When the Vulpix Seasons collection launched in Japan in 2017 I purchased a few items from it, but regretted not ordering more. Now we can get the playmat in the UK, I’m definitely planning on picking it up in the future for my desk! I love my Eeveelutions one, but it would be nice to change it up every now and then for fun!

So, there you have it guys, the absolutely adorable items from my wish list this month! As I said, I am pretty much on a spending ban the rest of this month now, so any items on this list that I’d like to get eventually will need to wait for payday treats, or even Christmas and birthday, considering they’ll be here before we know it! :O

What do you guys have on your wish lists? Have you discovered some new items through mine? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care guys and have an amazing weekend!

Petty Bones Club – New Pokemon Pins*

Good morning one and all! Can you believe we are over halfway through January and before we know it it’ll be February. Crazy, isn’t it?!

As many of my readers will know from throughout 2018, pin badges was something I came to love so much and buy monthly, as well as worth with some amazing companies to show off some gorgeous designs.

I can’t believe it’s been just over 5 months now that I became a brand rep for Petty Bones Club (which you can read all about here, as well as see the goodies I received in my first package!), which was one of my favourite things to come out of my blog in 2018. Their pin badge designs are gorgeous and I love how chubby and cute the designs are.

Back at the start of September Petty Bones Club released a new Kickstarter (you can see it here, even though you can’t pledge anymore), which campaigned to launch a mixture of different Pokemon pin badges. Of course I backed it and opted for the cute Growlithe pin!

About a week ago I reached out to Lauren over at Petty Bones Club to see if she would like me to talk about her new Pokemon pin badge designs on my blog, which she was more than happy to do! She sent me a handful of items to talk about, which I am so excited to share on here with you guys!

If you love Pokemon and pin badges, I’m sure you’ll be taken in by how cute and adorable these designs are that she sent me.

As well as the designs she sent me, I’ll be talking about the ones I received from backing the Kickstarter campaign.

I’ll be talking about all the new Pokemon pins that Petty Bones Club have out, which in total are 8 new designs and honestly each design is as cute as the next! I received 4 of the designs to talk about and I have 2 of them already, of course from the Kickstarter. Any that I was gifted by Petty Bones Club for this post will have an * next to them. You know the drill. 😛

  • Officer Growlithe enamel pin – £8.00 – (link) Officer Growlithe reporting for duty!

This is actually the pin I picked up from my Kickstarter and as soon as the design was revealed by Petty Bones Club I KNEW I had to have it! Growlithe is such a cute Pokemon and I’m pretty much I don’t just speak for myself when I say how it reminds us of both Jesse and his Growlie, as well as the fact that the Officer Jenny’s have Growlithe’s. The latter is obviously where the pins design stemmed from, which I LOVE. The Growlithe is just so chubby and kawaii looking and with its little cap on we know for a fact it’s on duty and ready to go! 😛 It just puts so much joy to my day when I wear this design on my cardigans during my shifts at work, as well as weekends off on hoodies and jackets. If you didn’t guess by now, this is my favourite design out of the bunch.

  • Togepi enamel pin* – £8.00 (link) Everyone’s favourite little egg!

This is one of the pins that Petty Bones Club sent me and it’s so adorable! Like Growlithe, the first thing people think of when they see a Togepi is how it was Misty’s Pokemon in the anime series. This little Togepi pin badge is so adorable and clearly very lovable due to the hearts surrounding it. This little Togepi is so damn cuddly looking and happy that I can only imagine how much attention this pin would gain you whilst wearing it!

  • Haunter enamel pin* – £8.00 (link) Everyone’s favourite spooky boi

This is definitely one of my favourite pins from this collection for so many reasons! For a spooky boi Petty Bones Club has done such a good job at making him a cutie spooky boi. 😛 He’s a really generous size, which I really like as I feel if he was smaller all the detail that’s been put into him wouldn’t really look as good. He’s just so cute and that’s something I honestly love about this collection as a whole. Yeah Pokemon are cute, but Petty Bones Club just has a way of making all her designs look cuddly and adorable. I can’t wait to wear this pin badge out and about, as I already know it’s going to get a lot of attention.

  • Alolan Vulpix enamel pin – £8.00 (link) The prettiest white fox!

This Alolan Vulpix pin actually came with my Officer Growlithe pin when my Kickstarter order arrived! I can only assume this was a little extra from Lauren to thank me for my continued support. Either was it was a cute and lovely gesture! This is the only pin out of the Pokemon collection to be silver plated, which in turn works so well for the Alolan Vulpix design! If this had of been on a gold or even rose gold plating it wouldn’t have looked right. I remember when I received and reviewed some of the pin badges last time from Petty Bones Club, I loved how the colour of the metal used for each pin worked in part with the colours of the design. It’s such a small thing, but something that I always notice when ordering pin badges for myself.

  • Vulpix enamel pin* – £8.00 (link) Introducing Vulpix! The original fire fox

This is another one of my favourite pins, it’s so damn cute and I remember awing at it when I opened the little package that all the goodies Lauren sent me were in. Although I love foxes and Vulpix, I didn’t actually own a Vulpix pin badge until Lauren sent me this one! I’m so chuffed to have it in my collection now in all honesty as Vulpix’s little face is so damn cute! I love how both the Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix are completely different. It means they can be worn together but look different. Alolan faces right with a shut smiling mouth, whilst Vulpix faces left with an open smiling mouth. I love the differences between the two! I plan to wear them both at the same time on my Persona 5 jacket (which you can see and read about here) as I know these will attract loads of attention and questions from Pokemon fans, both old and new. I just love the little face on Vulpix, it looks so happy! Like the Alolan Vulpix, this is on a different coloured plating to the rest of the pins. This Vulpix is actually on a rose gold plated enamel, which I really love! It works so well for the colour scheme of the pins design and if anything really does add something a little more.

  • Alolan Raichu enamel pin* – £8.00 (link) If you thought Raichu was cute, think again! Alolan Raichu is not only super cute, he can also surf on that super cute tail of his!

This is the final pin I’ll be talking about in this collection and I’m pretty sure it was the first one that Lauren announced when these pins were being teased, ready for the Kickstarter to begin. I fell in love with the design as I feel like there hasn’t really been many Alolan Raichu pin designs out there! This one is so cute, even with the chubby electric shocks next to Raichu. I do really like Alolan Raichu, even more so than the original so this pin really stood out to me when it was initially announced back in August/September time. This pin badge will be especially fun to wear in the summer I feel! Don’t ask me why, I just do. 😛

So those are 6 out of 8 of the designs I bought and was sent by Lauren over at Petty Bones Club. All of the pin badges are amazing quality, in both design and enamel pins themselves. With all of Lauren’s work you can really see she’s put some time, thought, effort and especially love into all of the designs of the Pokemon and although I have some favourites, I do love them all!

Alongside all the cute pins she sent me, she also sent me some Pokemon stickers, as well as a charm of Misty with Psyduck! I received one of these with my Kickstarter order and I love the design so much! I’d love for Lauren to come out with Ash with Pikachu and Brock with Vulpix too.

To rank my top 3 they’d have to be – Officer Growlithe, Haunter and Vulpix. They’re so damn cute! I think I’m going to spend the rest of this week rocking the Haunter pin badge at work with my rainbow cardigan, because why not! 😛

I’ll pop Petty Bones Club’s website down below again, as well as all their social media pages!
