Christmas Presents I Wanted As A Teenager VS Presents I Want Now

It’s Christmas Eve and everyone is pretty much ready for Christmas now… Right? RIGHT?! I bloody hope so anyway, otherwise you’re pushing it a little bit… πŸ˜›

Last year I wrote about what gifts I would have wanted as a kid, as well as gifts I was wishing after for Christmas. You can read that post here.

This year I decided to do the same sort of thing on Christmas Eve, but I wanted to do a list of items I lusted and asked for as a teenager. When it came to thinking about items for this post, I really forgot about how much stuff I wanted as a teenager and how much of the stuff on the list I still own. It’s just made me think a lot… About how old I am! πŸ˜›

Of course as well as talking about items I asked for as a teenager, I’ll also be talking about items I’m hoping I’ve received for Christmas tomorrow.

I really hope you enjoy this post as I know I enjoyed writing the one last year about when I was little. Gosh I honestly can’t believe it’s Christmas Day tomorrow. This month has really flown!

  • Apple iPod Mini 1st Generation in Green.

I remember when the iPod first came out and my brother had one. I loved it and the thought of having all my music in one place was such a mind blowing and life changing idea! I used to use my CD Walkman all the time but I hated changing CD’s in it constantly or having just the one and it boring the hell out of me after the third play. I remember asking my mom for this for Christmas, but it didn’t come out until my birthday so I actually got it then. However, I never got to keep this iPod. Reasons for this were because the iPod broke and my mom was reluctant to replace it. I don’t know if you remember, but back in the day there were rumours that Apple were notorious for not testing their products and the first batches that people would buy would always be rubbish. This seemed to be the case with my green iPod as only a month or two into owning it it started to play up. It wouldn’t charge and when it did the charge lasted for seconds. It was confusing and upsetting, so my mom took me back to the shop (Dixons to be exact! Remember them?) to get a refund. I was upset already at this point that she wouldn’t replace it, instead she just wanted her money back. I understood why, she was angry that she’d spent a lot of money on the iPod for it to break so soon. So we explained in the shop what was wrong and how she wanted her money back. “The back light is constantly on. Is this how it’s been since you bought it?” It was, I always left the back light on. “Well we aren’t giving you a refund then. You’ve broken it yourself by leaving that back light on.” This was such a shitty attitude and my mom already being annoyed, was even more annoyed now! I was gutted. My dad took me to another Dixons store to try and get a refund for the iPod, we explained what we had to the first store and they gave us a full refund without any questions or judgement. PHEW! I never did get another iPod Mini to replace that one but when I started university I bought my iPod Nano, which I still own and use to this day. πŸ™‚

  • Converse All Star Hi Tops in Red.

The Christmas I received these was the year of my teenage years where I started to become who I am now… If that makes sense? I’d discovered so many of my favourite things including music, films, books, TV shows and especially what style of clothing I loved. I’d been eyeing up Converse hi tops for a while and especially wanted the red pair as they were different. I remember my brother taking me to the Bullring in Birmingham and buying me some new clothes for Christmas and my birthday. It was such a bizarre day to be honest with you… He bought me loads of clothes including jeans, tops and hoodies and he also bought me my hi tops, which I loved and wore them for about 2 years until I couldn’t anymore. They just wore down so much they were too uncomfortable to wear anymore. I still have them though… I don’t think I could ever part with them now in all honesty! I don’t know if I’d ever buy another pair of Converse now… I’m too much of a Vans and Docs girl now.

  • Angel Eau de Parfum by Thierry Mugler.

This was my first “proper” perfume that I owned and to this day I still own it! Not the same bottle as I would have had back in the day, but I always need a bottle of Angel in my life now. It reminds me of my mom to be honest with you, as I remember her buying this and falling in love with the smell! Angel is just such a unique perfume and anyone who loves their fragrance will instantly know what this is after you get a whiff of it. I remember as a teenager always asking for a bottle of this as I wanted my own, I didn’t want to keep sneaking my mom’s. πŸ˜› I can’t remember if my mom bought me a bottle for Christmas, or if I was bought it after someone went on holiday. I know I had a bottle as a teenager though and I felt glam as fuck! πŸ˜›

  • Kodak Easyshare Camera with Printer.

I remember my mom taking me to Dixons to buy this for me for Christmas. It wasn’t a surprise come Christmas Day but I loved it so much! I had wanted a digital camera for the longest time so my mom took me to have a look at what kind of camera I could pick up. We saw the Kodak ones with printers and were sold! I used this camera and printer to death to be honest with you and I’m pretty sure they still work! Yes, over 10 years later and I still own both the camera and the printer. I remember staying in my room taking selfie photos all the time and of my dog. I remember filmed a video of my dog Madge on this camera and it’s still the cutest thing. I wish I had that footage somewhere online so I could watch it now and link it here. But the best thing about this camera was as soon as you’ve taken your photos you could print them off AND you could plug the printer into your computer and print photos from off of there. It was a fab little device and I loved it so much. πŸ™‚

  • The Sims 2 PC Game.

This was something I wanted so badly, so when I opened it on Christmas Day from my brother I was so ecstatic! I remember him installing it for me and I couldn’t keep still at the anticipation of playing it. I spent so many days and nights playing this game and even played it whenever I went to see my cousins after school and over the weekends. I just fell in love with it. I actually really miss playing Sims 2 as I found it was the easiest to play, as well as the funniest! Every Christmas and birthday I’d always get the expansion packs too, which was awesome. Honestly though, many wasted years of my youth went into this game. πŸ˜›

  • Sony Ericsson W800.

After the whole iPod fiasco I was without an MP3 player for quite sometime. I also had a bit of a shit mobile as well. It was okay and it did the job, but as a teenager everyone wanted a good camera on their phone, as well as other things. I asked for this for Christmas but I didn’t get it until towards the end of secondary school. From memory it was marketed as one of the first phones to also double up as an MP3 player and this really did call to me! Plus it was white and orange, what more would you want from a phone as a teenager?! I always loved getting new phones over Christmas, it was just awesome back in the day. It’s different though these days for kids. They want them to go online and take selfies, where back when I was a teenager you just wanted something that could take photos and best games on there. πŸ˜› I remember this phone also had a selfie mirror on the back, which was always amazing.

  • Nintendo DS in Pink.

The final item on this list and one I wanted for years, and years, and years but I never got, which in turn I was gutted about. I asked for this for many years but the one year it was in a package with the Nintendogs game and I KNEW I really wanted it that Christmas. My dad even took me to GAME to buy it for me, but my brother talked him out of it saying, “Don’t get her that, Nintendo DS is shit! Get her a PSP instead!” So my dad made me look into the PSP and the games and I didn’t want any of them. So alas, due to the Nintendo DS being “shit” I never got one. Years later my dad bought me a red Nintendo DS Lite, which was amazing. πŸ˜› I am still gutted though that it took so long for me to get a Nintendo DS because of my brothers inaccuracies. πŸ˜›

OKAY so that’s all the items that I remember fondly asking for as a teenager for Christmas, as well as a bit of a back story into what happened when I got them/if I got them. ^_^

NOW onto the gifts I’ve wished for this Christmas! Some of these items I know I’ve been gifted, or asked for from Dane, his family and my own family. I know this list is probably boring, but meh. πŸ˜›

  • Persona 5 Morgana Plush.

I can’t tell you how long I have wanted this Morgana plush for! It’s not cheap to get a hold of though, which in itself sucks! I really hope deep down that Dane has bought me it for Christmas though, as I really want him. πŸ™‚ I think I might have to treat myself to him sooner rather than later as I’d hate to see a SOLD OUT on him on the two websites I’ve found him on… It would definitely suck! Maybe if I don’t get him for Christmas or birthday, he can be a birthday treat to myself… πŸ˜›

  • Disney Wall-E Earth Day Pop Vinyl.

I literally just went to Amazon to see how much this guy is going for. Bloody hell, nearly Β£50! DAYUM. I’m really hoping Dane has picked him up for me for Christmas as it’s so damn cute and to be perfectly honest with you, how the first Wall-E pop vinyl should have looked really. If I do get him, he’ll stay in the box. πŸ˜›

  • South Park Princess Kenny Mug.

This is such a random thing on this list, but something I’d love either way! I think I’d love this mug more for work to be fair. I recently bought the t-shirt with Princess Kenny on and I’m in love. Princess Kenny is for sure one of my favourite things to come out of South Park and she’s definitely my boo. πŸ˜‰ I doubt very much I’ll get this mug for Christmas or birthday, but if I go to Fobidden Planet anytime soon, I may pick it up to use at work. πŸ™‚

I have a feeling Dane has bought me this for Christmas… It’s something I expressed that I really wanted for our bedroom. He’s always commented how he wanted a feature wall behind our bed, but I just can’t commit to something like that, especially as we have built in wardrobes in front of the bed with mirrors on. Imagine waking up every morning and just seeing a red wall? FYI that’s what he wanted. πŸ˜› However when I found this fox wall tapestry I fell in love with it! It’s such a pretty design on it and with a simple stick on wall hooks it’ll be up and down in no time! I’m also hoping I have some fairy lights to hang around it too. πŸ˜›

  • Olivia Burton Snow Globe Blush & Silver Watch.

I already know I have this for Christmas, as my mom has bought it for me, which in turn is so lovely of her. πŸ™‚ She asked me what I wanted as a gift as she hadn’t got a clue and when I suggested this watch (and of course the hefty price tag!) she was over the moon to pick it up! That’s the good thing with both mine and her birthday’s right after Christmas and just days apart from each other (mine is the 6th and hers is the 7th!) so we can buy each other expensive gifts and have them for both occasions. πŸ™‚ I LOVE this watch so much though! For a year now I’ve wanted a really nice designer watch, but as of yet I didn’t quite find anything I liked the look of, or showed who I am… If that makes sense? I love foxes, as everyone knows so when I saw that Olivia Burton were bringing a watch out with a fox on the face, I knew I had to get it. Bless my mom she’s also got my name etched onto the band too, which is gorgeous. She told me I could have it before Christmas, but I’m waiting until tomorrow. πŸ™‚

  • Elodie the Unicorn Humidifier.

I can’t remember how long I’ve wanted this for… I think it must be almost 2 years now! It was on Kickstarter and I wanted to back it so much, but I never bothered. It worked out quite expensive at the time. Elodie The Unicorn is an American branded item too so shipping was a bomb! I waited and waited and eventually Firebox started stocking Elodie The Unicorn items, one of which I spoke about recently on this post. However, I would love this humidifier for more than just the way it looks. I really want it to put essential oils in of an evening and during the weekends when me and Dane aren’t at work. Lavender for evenings and eucalyptus for when me and Dane have colds. I have a funny feeling that I’ve been bought this for Christmas… πŸ˜›

  • Loungefly Pokemon Eevee Embosed Tri-Fold Wallet.

I am gutted at the time of writing this post because I was actually going to order this for myself. It’s now out of stock and due to that a part of me has kind of died… I don’t need a new wallet, but I’d like to have one if I could. Mines definitely showing it’s age now. I doubt very much that I have this for Christmas, but a small part of me hopes I do. :’)

  • Pandora Bobby Bot Dog Charm.

I’ve had my eye on this Pandora charm for a while now. I’ve not really asked for any Pandora charms for some time and I don’t really know why… I guess I just haven’t liked the look of any, you know? However I do really LOVE this Bobby Bot dog! It’s so adorable and definitely something different. I tell you what though, for what it is it’s fucking expensive! It’s Β£50, which isn’t cheap for a Pandora charm in my opinion. I doubt very much that I have this for Christmas as I didn’t think of giving it as a gift idea…

So there’s my wish lists from back when I was a teenager to now I’m an adult! πŸ˜€ As you’ll probably see from both lists, thing never change with me. πŸ˜›

I do miss being younger and having a carefree life, but at the same time I actually don’t miss those years of dealing with puberty, the heartbreak I felt when lusting after boys who thought I was grotesque and not having any freedom. πŸ˜›

I want to know what some of your memorable Christmas gifts were from when you were a teenager? As well as what gifts you’d like to receive come Christmas day? πŸ™‚

I have to add whilst it’s all well and good me talking about receiving gifts tomorrow and enjoying time with loved ones, we always have to remember there are people out there not as fortunate as some to have a lovely warm home and family members to be around at Christmas.

I always think of people who are both homeless and dealing with mental health issues around Christmas and it truly breaks my heart.

With that in mind, if you’re struggling today, tomorrow and for the rest of 2018 please make sure to drop me a message on any of my social media pages. I will always be happy and welcoming to you if you need someone to rant to. ❀

On that note, I hope you have an amazing Christmas and a happy New Year! πŸ™‚

My New Phone – (Product) Red iPhone XR

It’s been about 2 weeks since I decided to bite the bullet and get myself an upgrade on my iPhone 6.

There wasn’t really anything wrong with my phone per say, but the battery life was pretty shocking and it was gradually getting worse. I love playing Pokemon GO daily and if I played that and did personal and blog related stuff on social media it was causing me to need to charge my phone max 5 times a day. Crazy, I know!

So I waited for the newest iPhone’s to be announced before deciding whether to change. I had eyed up the red iPhone 8 for a while as I noticed it was in the sale via John Lewis and Argos. But this just seemed silly considering there were plans for a newer phone to come out.

So when the iPhone XR was announced and in different colours, I got just a little bit excited.

I rang my network provider to see if I could strike a bargain with them, but that wasn’t happening! I did get given a semi decent offer at the time, but looking back it was actually pretty shit. I was pretty disappointed and pissed off but meh.

So I started wondering whether it was worth saving up or doing some sort of finance. The more I thought about it, the more I WANTED the new phone.

After doing some research I found out that Apple actually do their iPhone Upgrade Programme which means you can pay for one of the newest iPhone’s with no extra charges aka 0% interest. It’s all sorted by Barclays as well so you know it’s legit, if that makes sense. πŸ˜›

I popped into the store, had a chat with a member of staff and discussed all my options. If you decide to do the Upgrade Programme the monthly price you pay for your phone also includes Apple Care. You can do it without that which works out about Β£6.00 cheaper but I went for the Apple Care too, I mean why the hell not for such a small price?

I didn’t use it for a few days after I got it as I wanted to make sure I had a good and sturdy phone case for it. I finally got my phone case through and as I wasn’t very well that day I literally spent the whole day in bed sorting out my new phone playing with it. It was fun to be fair.

I am in LOVE with my iPhone XR and it has been such a game changer for me in so many ways.

I decided to get the red version as I have always loved the look of the red iPhones and I love that they donate some of the profits from the red coloured devices to their (RED) charity which has supported HIV/AIDS for the past 11 years. It’s amazing!

I decided to up my game and go from a 16GB to a MASSIVE 128GB! No more worrying about having too many photos on my phone, as well as deleting apps I haven’t used for a fortnight to make way for another one. It’s nice to be able to have apps for everything I would want and need, which is great. It’s what I’ve wanted and to be fair needed for God knows how long now.

The battery life is amazing and it lasts all day without a charge. I don’t think I’ve hot the red line on my battery yet, which I’m so chuffed with.

The phone is also a bit bigger than my iPhone 6 and at first this was so odd to get used to, but I’ve fast gotten used to this and I actually rather like having a bigger screen. Dane still has the iPhone 5s which is tiny, so whenever I go to use his phone for anything I feel alien to it, especially the screen.

The quality of the screen is superb and it’s definitely making the little things like playing games and watching YouTube videos perfect for me and I’m really loving it. It does take looking at Dane’s phone to realise what leaps and bounds Apple have gone to to make sure to bring us the best phone from them out.

Of course this phone has Animoji which is a lot of fun to use, but something I haven’t found myself using as much as I thought I would. I rather like using it to message Dane silly little things. There’s loads of things you can do with it, but as of yet I haven’t tried them. This is something I’ll have a play with on a lazy Sunday morning.

So I thought I would show you my new phone, as well as the phone cases I ordered, as well as my PopSocket I ordered for it too.

The original phone case I ordered isn’t anything special and was just something to keep me going until the case I arrived from Redbubble arrived.

I really liked it though and will definitely use it again in the future. I’ll probably pop some stickers on it and make it unique and my own.

Image take from Daily Mail

I also ordered myself a PopSocket when I ordered the case and it has seriously been a game changer for the way I hold my phone. I used to rest my little finger under the phone, which not only hurt but woud cause a ridge/dent in my little finger. Not good! It’s actually a thing now, so much so there are people who have badly bent fingers due to it. You can read about it in the photo source link above.

I decided to pick up the nebula PopSocket and I do really like it. I have my eye on another one I’d love to get, but we shall see. Even Dane has rather liked how good PopSockets are, so I may, MAY be getting him one for Christmas… We shall see. πŸ˜›

Finally the phone case I ordered from Redbubble for my phone arrived and I LOVED it so much! It’s a Spirited Away phone case which has a childlike looking drawing of Haku and Chihiro. I miss my old phone case so much for my iPhone 6 with the Mew asleep amongst the pink flowers, so I wanted to find a good replacement. I knew I wanted to get something with Haku on and this was the nicest one I found.

The quality of Redbubble tough cases are amazing and you would think they wouldn’t be, but honestly I never had an issue with my iPhone 6 case.

What do you think of the design?

I’m not a massive phone case collecter the older I’ve got. I hate the ones with the liquid glitter in and I especially hate obnoxious massive ones that case your phone to look stupidly awkward to hold… Oh and stupid! πŸ˜›

So yeah any phone cases I decide to get are usually from Redbubble or the Pokemon Center.

Overall I LOVE my new iPhone and I’m so glad I waited and got this one. It’s perfect for me to be honest and I don’t feel like I can complain about anything.

Are or do you have a new phone? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear which one you have and also which one(s) you’d love to get.

Until next time, take care all and have an amazing weekend! Last full weekend now until December.

My New iPhone 6!

This is something I have been super excited for since it was announced, and a couple of months ago I realised I would be able to upgrade in August and be able to get this beauty.

Finally after what felt like the longest two months ever, they flashed by and now I am the proud owner of an iPhone 6, and isn’t it gorgeous?

I’ve had it three days now and it’s so surreal… I know that sounds odd as it’s just a phone but I don’t know. After all the issues I had with my iPhone 5, I guess I’m just so pleased to have a brand new phone that’s actually mine. To give you a quick run down to what happened with my iPhone 5.

My original one was having issues a year after I got it, and before my holiday in January I took it to the Apple store to see what the issue could be. It had been built faulty and I was told it would cost me Β£200 to fix it… Β£200 I didn’t have! So I dealt with the issues during my holiday and when I came back I rang Orange (now EE) and told them the problems. Due to being a loyal and old customers they offered to give me a refurbished phone for free. Which they did, but that phone they sent me had way worse problems than the phone I had originally. I reported it and they once again sent me another refurbished phone, which I still have. It did appear to have a few issues, but they went away not long before I got my iPhone 6.

So now I have my new phone and it took me the good part of four hours to sort it out, let me tell you why, and also give you some tips on how to snag a great deal! I didn’t wish to go through Carphone Warehouse, even though a few of my friends had told me to do so due to their cheaper deals, etc. I’ve been through Carphone Warehouse in the past and when I had issues with an old phone they turned me away and said, “We can’t help you need to contact the manufacturer.” Which was a pain to be told but alas, I contacted them and they dealt with my issue. Another thing I don’t like with Carphone Warehouse is how they try and push deals onto you, that’s wrong. They would push me to insure with them, even though I had said many times no, and just to shut them up I would say yes to a monthly trial, only to cancel it a mere day later. Orange and EE don’t do this, if you say no, they accept that answer.

Anyway, I rambled. I found an amazing deal through Carphone Warehouse back in June and had print screened it incase the deal went away, which it did. When I spoke to them about this deal they said, “Okay we’ll do this deal for the day.” So as I said before, I didn’t wish to go through them, so I contacted EE and told them the offer Carphone Warehouse had proposed to me, and asked if they could match it. Not only did EE match it, but they offered me Β£10 less for the phone than Carphone Warehouse did! I was sold and took up their offer straight away.

So, if you’re upgrading with your phone provider make sure to do some hunting around, and especially print screen deals if you see good ones as they don’t stick around forever. I wasn’t rude to the people who I spoke to at EE, and they didn’t leave me feeling like I needed to. I simply told them the deal I had been proposed, and how I wanted to stick with them due to how amazing they had been with all my iPhone 5 problems the past year. Which is true! They have been amazing and I’m so pleased about how they’ve dealt with it all.

Another reason I’m glad that I didn’t go through Carphone Warehouse is due to the hacking issues they announced yesterday. I know this isn’t their fault, but I’m just so relieved!

Now all that further rambling is over, I can talk a little about the phone itself.

It is of course bigger than the iPhone 5, which I worried about at first, but it’s actually better. My hand doesn’t have to curve around so much to fit it into my palm, and the screen being bigger I don’t need to hold it super close to my face when I don’t wear my glasses. The smooth shape of it makes it feel nicer to hold as well. I especially love the fact you could get this in gold, which is the colour I went for. It just looks so clean and beautiful. Of course you get the fingerprint reader on the home button, which I am still getting used to. It does make things easier at times. The one thing I am especially getting used to with this is the on/off button being on the right hand side of the phone instead of on the top. But this being said, I really do prefer it there.

The one thing I am happy about with having the iPhone 6, and I know this somewhat sad but it’s true. The best thing is that I can finally use my Eeveelutions case from the Pokemon Center store in Japan! I bought this back in May and have waited patiently to finally snap it onto my phone, and let me tell you, it looks so cute and feels really nice to hold.

Another case I picked up for my phone is a cheap flip case which I’ll use for work. It’s got The Fault in Our Stars designs on it and it just looks super cute.

Overall I’m just really happy with it already and I can’t wait to get to use it more over the next two years.

Do you have an iPhone 6? If so, what do you love about it most? If you don’t have an iPhone would you like one, or maybe you don’t want one? As usual, let me know your comments down below.

Until next time take care all and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

August Wish List 2015

I’m not going to lie. I’m skint. Not like “Oh my god I have noooo money!” Like seriously, I’m poor. Help?

So I really shouldn’t make a wish list this month, but I would feel weird not to. This is definitely a wish list as I can’t really afford anything on the list. I’m going to try and go on a spending ban until I get a better job as I only recently realised how I’m getting by on next to nothing in my current job.

But, as I said, I can still make a wish list and not buy anything that’s actually on said list. Can’t I? πŸ™‚

  • Yankee Candle Salted Caramel Small Jar.

I’m kinda running low on my Yankee Candle’s at the moment. But to be honest unless I REALLY want a certain scent, or their on sale or have money knocked off, then I’m not buying any anymore. This is in sale for Β£4.00 and I’m tempted to stock up on them to keep me happy for a while. I have liked the scent of this candle for a while, but I’ve just never caved in and bought it and whilst it’s cheap I am really tempted… But alas, I do need to save money… Sad times people, sad times.

  • Nintendo New 3DS XL (Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer Limited Edition).

This isn’t out in the UK yet (and I’m not even 100% sure if it WILL be coming out in the UK!) but it is out in Japan tomorrow and I’m pretty jealous of them right now. This is the limited edition New 3DS XL that is coming out to accompany the new Animal Crossing Game, Happy Home Designer. I’ve already pre ordered my copy! I would like to get my hands on the new 3DS in the future and if I can get one as cute as this, I don’t see why I shouldn’t.

  • Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in Abused.

I want to first of all say, apologies for the name of this lipstick… I didn’t name it. The name of this is causing a stir with people, especially due to the shade it is too. Personally it doesn’t affect me but I can understand why it is upsetting a lot of people. That aside, I do really want this shade. I’ve wanted one of Jeffree’s lipsticks for ages now and this is my number once choice. When I was younger I used to wear blue lipstick all the time! I got bullied for it terribly and ended up stopping wearing it, and now everyone is wearing it. What a joke… This is a gorgeous navy blue, which you could get away with if you wanted to get a shade close to black. I bought a black lipstick recently and whilst I love how it looks when on, I feel to scared to wear it out of the house. However, I would love wearing this, especially during winter. It’s not cheap though, so I’m going to wait until I can find it at a decent price.

  • iPhone 6 Case.

As you have probably seen in the image above, there’s an iPhone there. So of course with a new phone, comes a new case. I need a case like this for work to ensure if I drop it, it would remain safe and unharmed. I wanted something a bit different to my current red one for my iPhone 5, so when looking around eBay for something different, I found this one. I love The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, so I knew this would be perfect. What makes it better is it’s cheap as chips for Β£3.00 something.

  • Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub.

Although I said I need to save money, this is something I’m probably going to pick up pretty soon. Not because I want it, but because I need a good scrub and I’ve had my eye on this one since I finished my Sugar Crush scrub. I’ve tested it in store before and it really did feel like it was scrubbing my skin without irritating it. It also smelt amazing, which you can never complain about. OH and it foamed up a little too, which is something I always look for in a body scrub. I would also like to try Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub too, as I have used a sample of it now and as a multi purpose product it got two thumbs up from me. Gosh, like I haven’t bought enough from Lush this past month! πŸ˜›

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in Visions of Georgia Green (Coca Cola Limited Edition Line).

I really liked the Coca Cola collection that OPI came out with a year ago, and own some of the shades from the first collection. A couple of collections later and OPI are bringing out another to symbolise Coca Cola being around 100 years. They’ve brought out a green and a silver shade, I’m talking about the green shade, Visions of Georgia Green here. It’s a beautiful green metallic shade with shimmer running throughout. Looks gorgeous on its own, and I’m sure it’ll look lovely applied over a green or black shade. I wouldn’t like the big bottle, but either way if this ever goes down in price I’ll be picking it up.

  • Apple iPhone 6 in Gold.

This is the last thing I’ll be talking about on my wish list, because it’s totally the best one! I’m hoping to get a new iPhone in a week as I’m due a new contract deal. It’s not that I don’t like my iPhone 5, it’s just I want my own phone. One that’s actually mine. My previous one broke due to being faulty in manufacturing and instead of being given a new one as a replacement, I was given a crappy refurbished, second-hand one. Which also didn’t work. So then I was given my phone now, which is perfect! I guess it’s an excuse as well to get the new one. I already have an awesome and cute case for it (the Eevee one mentioned here) and everything. So I just want to get one now, so I can say I have one and show it off and all that jazz. When I get it, I’ll make sure to write a post relating to iPhone’s. πŸ˜‰

So that was my wish list! I can’t believe it’s August already, can you? What things are on your wish list? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time though, take care all and have a great week.

May Wish List 2015

I swear to God, April has been a tough month and before May 21st, it’ll be even tougher. I’m towards the end of my second semester of uni and that means lots and LOTS of uni work! I have five assignments due in and I need to start working on my dissertation as soon as the 21st has gone. I’ve already started it, which is good of course.

Anyway, wish list. I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to be honest, and I had to have a think about what I had seen and lusted after. Some I have mentioned before, but I’ll talk about them differently this time around.

I think after the 21st I’ll treat myself to a few things from this list for working so hard… Yeah… Maybe if I’m not skint anyway!

  • Yankee Candle Tea Lights in Berrylicious.

I own this scent in a large jar (which I spoke about here) and it’s by far one of my favourites! However, due to how rare this candle is now appearing to be, I’ve decided to save it until I move out and have my own home to burn it in. The same can be said for my newest candle, Red Velvet (in a large jar! YAY!), which I picked up at the start of April. I have had my eye on the Berrylicious range in Yankee Candle’s sale for a bargain. I recently bought the Easter Vanilla Cupcake and bunny tea light holder in Clinton’s sale so I now have a cute little tea light holder to burn my candles in! So I might pick this tea light set up in the sale. Berrylicious is such a yummy smell and will be perfect for summer.

  • 101 Dalmatians Lucy Tsum Tsum.

Oh my Gosh, everyone is in love with these and at first I didn’t get why… Until I saw them for the first time in the Disney Store and now I know why. These little guys are so cute and adorable! They come in small, medium and large sizes. The large ones are huge and would prove good companions if you feel miserable and want something to snuggle into. I think they’d also work good on long journeys and you want to have a snooze. They look like pillows. However, I’ve only been interested in the small ones and they’re just as cute. I’ve had my eye on Lady from Lady and The Tramp but from having a look on the Disney Store website, I’ve discovered that they have 101 Dalmatians ones! This is my second favourite Disney film so I was instantly attracted. Lucky has always been my favourite puppy (for obvious reasons!) and as a kid whenever I found something 101 Dalmatians themed, I usually bought it. I was obsessed with it at one point and it was a bit crazy. But sod it, we’re all a little crazy aren’t we? But enough rambling! I’d love all the other puppies available too, which are Patch and Rolly. I can see me ordered these as a treat when I get paid at the end of the month.

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in This Colour’s Making Waves (from Hawaii Collection).

I love OPI and over the past couple of years they have become my favourite nail polish brand. Sometimes there are just collections and shades that come out that I really love and need in my life and this is one of them. This colour really is making waves over the blogging community and everyone appears to adore it. I’ve read review, after review and the more I have read, the more I have wanted it. I had a look at it in store the weekend and it really did appeal to me. I would have bought it there and then but I don’t think my boyfriend would have allowed me without a fight… SO I have decided to save it as a treat for when I’ve handed in all my assignments for semester two. That seems a pretty decent bargain to me! The shade itself is a shimmery teal with blue and greens in there. It reminds me of Fuerteventura (where I was somewhat brought up as a child) and the ocean looks just like this. It would just remind me of that and I miss that place like a fat kid on a diet misses cake. So I kinda need this in my life…

  • YY Kawaii personalised iPhone case.

I’ve mentioned this Etsy seller before and she is amazing! I really want her to customise a case for me! I was close to ordering one at the start of the week, but I left it. I’m going to wait until I get myself a new phone before I finish uni. I may as well, as whilst her cases look beautiful, they’re also expensive. So I wouldn’t want to buy one for my iPhone 5, only in three or four months time to get an iPhone 6. To then need to order another one. So I may as well wait it out and think about what I would like. I have some ideas and it’s definitely a nerdy Pokemon themed one, especially Eevee! I want a Starbucks cup on there, as well as some other cute little pink things and such. I can’t wait to order it!

  • Eve 3D Mug.

Who doesn’t love Disney Store mugs, eh? I love them and once a year I may buy myself a new one. I used to buy them all the time when I was in college and undergraduate uni but I’ve grown up a little since and been good and saved money. However we all need to be a big kid sometimes and when I fancy being just this, I look to Disney and Pokemon for my childish fixes. I have the 3D Wall E mug and I want the Eve one to match! I wanted this mug for about a year and every time I went into the Disney Store it was sold out, the Wall E one too! Then they told me it wasn’t coming back into store, but to check online. They’d all gone from there too. However last year on a random shopping date I FOUND WALL E! He was in the sale with Β£2 knocked off of him. If Eve had have been there too, I would have bought her as well. When I have my own home, all my mugs will be Disney and anime related. Because I’m cool that way.

  • Lanolips Lip Ointment in Apples.

I’ve been lusting after a Lanolips lip ointment for years, but due to how expensive they are… I’ve never picked one up. Plus everywhere I’ve looked, they’ve never had this one in stock. So I left it. However, Feel Unique now stock this one and it excites me very much! I’ve wanted to pick up the banana one too, but as I’m allergic to banana and it contains actual banana, I wouldn’t want to worry it would set off my allergies. This is expensive and it’ll have to be a very special treat to myself to pick it up.

  • How to Build a Girl by Caitlin Moran.

I can’t say I have loved Caitlin Moran’s books… I was bought How To Be a Woman years ago and I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if it was me at the time and the frame of mind I was in, but I just had to stop reading. I was so excited to read it too as the person who bought it for me said I was similar to Caitlin, but when I read it I kept thinking, “fuck off, I am nothing like this!” but I will someday give that book another go. However, I fancied buying this whilst food shopping as not only was it cheap, but the plot sounded right up my street! And the style of writing that I do myself. I will definitely buy it someday, but maybe not yet as with uni work, my reading has been put on hold. Which I’m pretty gutted about! I love reading so much.

  • TAFI Deadpool Leggings.

I love me some leggings and whilst I love Black Milk ones the most, they aren’t very purse friendly and whilst I often purchase mine via eBay (I make sure they’re legit, etc) I just want to find something new… Etsy is great for this and whilst some don’t look as good as Black Milk, some are designs that Black Milk haven’t even done yet. This is one of them. I rather like Deadpool and I’m super excited about the movie with Ryan Reynolds (who is also one of my favourite actors) these leggings are just perfect really. They look great quality and just look cool and I’d be able to dress them up with all sorts. Including postage, these would only cost me over Β£17. BARGAIN when Black Milk will cost you nearly Β£100 including postage! I recommend checking out TAFI if you want some cool leggings for a bargain.

So that’s my wish list for May! I do need to save money so I may only buy one or two items from this list. I need to save money for bills, uni, as well as for trying to put a deposit on my own home. It’s tough going but I guess this is being a grown up.

What’s on your wish list this month? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.

March & April Empties

DSC_0016

I know I’m a little behind on my empties post… By a month! The reason for this is because at the end of March I had all of one empty product in my empties bag and I thought it would be somewhat pointless writing up a post about it, so I left it and throughout April my empties bag has piled up high full of empty products!

So in the future if there isn’t an empties post at the start of each month, then don’t expect one until the month after as chances are there aren’t enough products for me to talk about.

In two months I’ve managed to gather eight products, which isn’t bad considering that I only had one to talk about last month!

DSC_0017

  • Oral-B Complete Mouthwash.

This mouthwash wasn’t one I had tried before and was a random but much-needed purchase I made whilst food shopping. It was on offer at Β£2, which aside from ASDA’s own branded mouthwashes, this was the cheapest one there! I’m quite a fan of Oral-B so I thought this was well worth the money and it really was! This is also an alcohol-free mouthwash which is what I always look for as it means it won’t be strong and pretty much burn the inside of my mouth away! I was going to pick this up again after it ran out but it was nearly Β£3 and as I’m quite poor, as well as trying to save up for my weekend away in June, I decided to opt for a mouthwash a little more in my price range. I’d recommend this mouthwash for sure and I can see me picking it up again in the future.

  • N Spa Lime Hair & Body Wash.

I’ve only mentioned this in a favourites post once, which I’m really shocked by as quite frankly I LOVE this body wash and the more my boyfriend came over to my house, he soon discovered he loved it too. This is a gorgeous gel style body and hair wash that leaves you smelling like juicy limes, as well as waking you up that little bit too. The smell of it reminds me of the lime green fruit pastilles you get in the tubes, they’re my favourite! I used to love using this in the mornings and whilst I only used this as a body wash, my boyfriend used it to wash his hair and boy did his hair smell gorgeous all day long. I will be repurchasing this in the near future but for now I haven’t due to the fact I have so many shower gels to use up, as well as start using and also the fact I haven’t seen this for sale in ASDA for quite some time, which is a shame.

  • The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel.

This is by far, of all time one of my favourite shower gels and since rediscovering it before Christmas just gone, I’m never letting it go out of my life EVER again! When I was a little girl my Mom would take me to The Body Shop once a month to have a sniff of all the yummy products and one day I stumbled across this shower gel, pleading with her to let me have a bottle and from that day on every month my Mom would take me to the shop so that I could pick up another bottle. This continued for quite a long time until suddenly, we stopped going and I soon forgot about the shower gel, until Christmas 2013. I got myself a Β£3 gift card from Glamour magazine and decided to pick up this shower gel to try out again and the smell is still the same as it was all those years ago when I was little. This shower gel is amazing and not long after buying this bottle I picked up a HUGE 750ml bottle for under Β£8! It’s a lovely fresh strawberry scent that is perfect for spring and summer, but of course I would use it all year around. Once again this has become another one of my shower gels that my boyfriend has fallen in love with and for his birthday in April I too bought him a huge 750ml bottle! He loves it (I hope anyway!) and I know I can steal a little when I stay over at his too. πŸ˜› I wrote about this shower gel here if you wish to check it out BUT I’ve mentioned this shower gel so much that I recommend you just go and type it into the search bar if you wish to find anymore posts about it.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I’ve mentioned this in a previous empties post, as well as one or two favourites posts too and I will say the same here as I will have said before, this shave gel is amazing! Especially if you have sensitive skin and very dry skin too. With an average, cheap shave gel/foam I find that my legs become irritated during and after shaving, as well as flakey and dry. But with this shave gel my legs look and feel gorgeous, with no irritation! If you wish to read about this shave gel more in-depth check out this post and this post. πŸ™‚

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment.

I bought this night treatment back in October/November 2013 and at first I didn’t get on with it too well, but over time I began to enjoy using it in the evenings more and more, eventually using it in the morning too before work. It was a lovely light gel that sunk straight into the skin upon making contact with it. This was also refreshing to use as due to it being it gel it left my face feeling cooled down after a hot shower, as well as moisturised. I would buy this again for sure, but not just yet. I’m trying out some products at the moment and until I need to stock up on something new, this will remain a firm favourite to try once more in the future. This is for combination/oily skin but if you suffer from sensitive skin that I’d advice you stay away or be wary that this may irritate your skin at first or if you use often. At one point they wouldn’t irritate my sensitive skin, but then at another time it was kill me to apply this to my face! Just be wary before you buy, The Body Shop staff are lovely and if you ask them for some advice on skin care they’ll be more than happy to help you out!

  • Sure Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Cream in Sensitive.

This is by far the best deodorant I have ever used and I can’t see me EVER replacing what I use with something else. I suffer from sweat quite badly and even in the cold winter months I’ll swear terribly! One of my best friends suffers with the same issue and told me about this deodorant last summer after she had and told me to get some ASAP! So on a shopping trip I picked up my first tube and since then I’ve used nothing else. It’s not cheap at Β£5.50 a tube but this lasts me ages and at that price it’s well worth it! I don’t sweat half as much as I used to now and that’s just a huge weight lifted off of my mind. If you sweat badly like myself I recommend this to you! I’ve written about it in more detail on a post here.

  • Easy Nails Fast & Fruity Nail Polish Remover.

I don’t know who this nail polish is by (other than Easy Nails) but this is by far the best nail polish remover pot I have ever tried and that includes Bourjois too. For under a Β£1.00 you can pick up this little pot from Body Care and Home Bargains and it should last you a good 3-6 months, depending how often you wear and remove nail polish. This nail polish remover is acetone free and also has a light peach fragrance, which is lovely! Like all nail polish remover pots it contains the remover inside a thick lining of sponge and with a couple of twists of your finger the polish will be removed. Glitter polish isn’t as easy to remove as I find it is when I use the foil technique but that doesn’t bother me either way. If you want a remover that will take off your polish quick and easy, pick this bad boy up!

  • Chapstick Lip Balm in Apple.

I love this lip balm so much that I’m surprised at myself as to why I haven’t picked up a replacement yet! It not only leaves youΒ  lips lovely and hydrated but it also makes them smell and taste of yummy fresh apples, which I love. Whenever I applied this to my lips I would often get asked, “Can you smell something? I can smell apples!” and it’s usually me and my lip balm that has caused this in the first place! Weird huh?! I can see me picking up another one of these later on today if not tomorrow as I just can’t live without this lip balm in my life anymore! I always make sure to have 2 of these, one to have in my handbag and one to keep at home on my bedside table. Some may think that’s a bit drastic, it’s just the norm to me.

So those were my empties for this month, what products did you use up? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time take care all and have a good weekend!

Lily Flame Wish List

To me autumn and winter is the perfect time to light a candle in the evening after a long days work whilst you’re relaxing or even doing some work. If they’re scented, it’s even better!

I’ve made posts before on my blog about my Yankee Candles (you can read those here, here and here) and whilst I own various other candles too (but nor nearly as many as Yankee Candles) I still crave more and Lily Flame are candle company I’ve been lusting after for quite some time.

Charlotte’s over at makeupbycandlelight.blogspot.co.uk recently wrote a post about her Lily Flame candles and it reminded me how much I’d been craving a couple of their gorgeous scents for quite a while now!

I discovered Lily Flame in The Oasis Market in Birmingham, they had some festive scents in there at and after Christmas and I was going to buy a couple of tins but I didn’t really have much money so I left it.

Then this spring whilst looking around Waitrose I saw some of Lily Flame candles for sale and fell in love with Fairy Dust. I was incredibly foolish and didn’t pick it up and alas when I went in during the summer, it was gone and I haven’t seen it in there since.

However thanks to the internet, I will still be able to pick it up, maybe even off of eBay for a bargain price but upon looking on the Lily Flame website, I found they have quite a few scents that I have searching for in a scented candle for quite some time now.

So I thought I would share with you my wish list of Lily Flame candles!

FYI these are in the order that I found them on the website. πŸ™‚

Coffee Galore; Freshly Roasted! Warm and welcoming freshly roasted coffee. So strong you don’t even need to light it; just leave the lid off!

Coffee Galore – I love coffee, the smell, the taste, everything and being a barista just makes it sound so funny as at times I rather enjoy making people drinks with coffee involved too. I’m that person at Christmas who eats allΒ  the coffee chocolates out of the selection boxes because I’m the only one who likes them. I can only imagine this candle to smell creamy and delicious and one to burn whilst working and I’m pretty sure it would smell gorgeous in the morning or early afternoon too! I’d want to smell this before purchasing but either way, yum!

Fairy Dust; Invisible & True. Of all our candles, this is our most popular. A difficult scent to describe; based on a fine fragrance, It’s Powdery, Warm, Sparkly and Magical. In short – Fairy Dust!

Fairy Dust – I can’t even describe the smell of this candle to you! It’s just so unique and different and definitely reminds me of something I would have liked the smell of as a child. This is something I would burn at any time of day, but probably more so when I’m feeling a little blue and need a pick me up. This is by far number one on my wish list as it’s one of the first candles EVER that I have fallen in love with and have craved to smell again. I can see me buying myself one of these in the New Year.

Splash; Cool, Cool Water. A flowing oceanic scent. From the bottom to the top, refreshing, cool and clean.

Splash – This candle sounds very fresh and more of a scent you would burn during the summer time. It sounds like a manly scent, which I like! I love water and I really miss going on holiday to enjoy jumping into the cool swimming pool or even the ocean to venture under the water at whatever is down there. I’d light this whilst doing some work or playing some games on my PS3 as it’s a rather relaxing scent. Plus I really need a holiday and with no money I guess my memories and the scent of this candle will have to do.

Vanilla & Honey; Almost Too Much to Bear! Beautifully warm and intoxicating – the emphasis is on the sweet honey.

Vanilla & Honey – Oh my could this candle sound anymore amazing!? I know it isn’t exactly a Christmassy scent but to me this would be perfect for me for Christmas. It’s warming and yummy smelling and sounds like ice cream! I’d light this quite a lot I reckon which in itself isn’t a good thing but if it stopped me from eating ice cream and anything like that, then surely it’s not such a bad thing?! Now reading about it, it’s making me rather hungry for some ice cream… I may have to buy myself some tonight, naughty Nat. πŸ˜›

Smile!; Spread a little Sunshine! This has become an instant hit – A fresh, sophisticated raspberry scent. With a label that makes you squint if you look at in bright sunlight! Blimus!

Smile! – This is definitely a summer scent but I wouldn’t care! I love food smells and strawberry, banana, apple and blueberry are definitely up there, with raspberry not far behind them! This would be burnt during summer evenings no matter what I was doing or what mood I was in. It sounds delicious and the name of this candle just reminds me of Lily Allen’s first single. I really do wish Lily Flame would do a blueberry or banana candle as I can never seem to find either of those flavours, which sucks.

Apple; From a West Country Orchard.

Apple – As I just mentioned just on the Smile! candle, I love apple scents and this one I can imagine smelling fresh, crisp and fresh! I’ve only ever owned one apple scented candle and it smelt amazing! It was only a Β£1 from my local pound shop and when I went to buy another, they’d all gone and said they didn’t plan to get anymore. I was gutted, absolutely gutted! However seeing as Lily Flame offer their Apple candle, I may have found a replacement. I love the smell of apple throughout the year, but mostly during the spring.

Lily Flame’s candles come in tins (as you can see) and cost Β£8.50 each, although I have found them cheaper on places such as eBay and in a couple of shops. Their burn times lasts for 35 hours which in hindsight doesn’t seem all that long for nearly Β£10.00 worth of candle but as I don’t burn candles all that often and when I do not for that long, I find it’s well worth the money.

Have you ever heard of Lily Flame candles? If so which scents tickle your fancy?

If you hadn’t heard about Lily Flame candles before this post, would you think about buying some?

Let me know any replies you have in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post, it was fun to quickly get written up before I have to pop out!

Until next time, take care.
