Life Lately – Past, Present and Future

I really love this photo! Shall I add it to my “about me” section? P.S. I love Instagram filters! ๐Ÿ˜›

For my post this week I thought I would do a life lately post and have a catch up about stuff that’s been happening since my last life lately in July (which you can read here). So, go and grab yourself a hot drink because this post is going to be lonnnnng!

I’m going to get this out there straight away and say that since September life has been a bit shit… But thankfully it hasn’t affected me too badly…

September is my favourite month of the year as many know, but this year it was one of the worst. My aunt unexpectedly passed away and I’m still torn about it. October was her funeral and as I’ve been so busy with work throughout October and this month I’ve not really had time to think about it all… Which isn’t a bad thing but I’ve just been so busy.

Due to everything happening one after the other, I am mentally drained. I had a day off work yesterday and it was much needed. I spent the morning doing nothing and catching up on Twitch streams, cleaned my bathroom in the afternoon and ordered a takeaway in the evening. It was a very good day and I loved it so much.

I was bloody knackered this day… Busy work day!

Anyhoo, I don’t want to talk about how shit the past three months has been too much here, but I did want to be honest. I just want to continue to be there for my mom and try and look forward to Christmas as it’ll definitely be a hard year for me, but especially for my mom. I want to try and spoil her as much as possible, especially when her birthday comes around after mine in January too.

Alongside that we’ve also had a second lockdown in the UK, which is set to finish in less than two weeks. To be honest the second lockdown hasn’t affected me. I’m still working from home so I’ve been fine workwise and as miserable as it sounds, second lockdown has been an excuse for me to stay at home and not have to worry about having energy after a busy day to socialise.

COVID and lockdowns has fucked with my head however. I’m happy to stay at home and not hang out with people and be social. I like staying in my house and when both me and Dane have a week off work in December, we intend to do that for pretty much all of it. We’re going to be working on the house and doing things we’ve meant to do the past four years of owning our home.

COVID and lockdown may have fucked with my head, but it has made me realise how much I love my home, but also how much work we still need to do. We’ve neglected it because of being social bunnies since 2016 and I’m done with it. I have certain friends I really fucking miss and can’t wait to see when things go back to “normal” but that’s about it.

I don’t give a fuck if I’m miserable. ๐Ÿ˜› Has anyone else had the same happen to them that has happened to me? Aka turning into a hermit. ๐Ÿ˜›

One of the many pretty baths I’ve taken lately. This one was so damn pretty due to the purple and blue swirling into one another.

I’m getting into the festive spirit a little now in the run up to December. I’m halfway through my Christmas shopping and I’ve already pre-ordered my Christmas food ready for the big day. I won’t be putting my tree up until the 1st December, I can’t stand putting it up early as I find it takes the magic of Christmas away. It comes down just before New Years Eve so we don’t have to worry about putting it down and away before we return to work for a New Year. A lot of people think this is miserable… I think due to being in a home that didn’t really put a tree up this is just something that has passed onto me somewhat.

Speaking of Christmas and the New Year I have so many exciting things I want to talk and share in regards to my blog! ๐Ÿ˜€

I decided almost a month ago that I would do a MASSIVE post at the start of December about shopping small in the UK. I’ve never done this before in the sense of all stores to be mentioned will be small so I’m REALLY excited for it! With 2020 and lockdown due to COVID, I feel I have shopped smaller more than ever and I love being able to share them with others on my Instagram (theremightbecoffeeblog) so I want to do the same here on my blog too.

I asked you on Twitter what you wanted to see, UK, USA, Europe or everywhere. You mostly voted for me to focus on shopping small in the UK, so that’s what I’ll be doing. I’ll have categories such as beauty, home, kawaii/geek, enamel pins, etc. Are there any categories you would like to see in particular that I haven’t mentioned?

I’ll be looking to research for this MASSIVE post very soon (maybe even after this post is live!) so I can get it out for (drumroll?) 5th December, which is in a couple of weeks! If you also know of any UK stores I should mention, please let me know!

I quickly want to interrupt what I’m talking about to show you these AMAZING Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon leggings I found for a total bargain on Depop! Someone sold them brand new with tags for ยฃ40. I snapped them up and I have zero regrets. I’m going to wear these religiously during my week off work. ๐Ÿ˜›

Alongside that blog post idea for Christmas, I have also decided in 2021 to make a slight change to my blog… and when I say change I mean my monthly posts in particular. I have toyed with this thought the past few months and after reaching out to you guys again on Twitter you all had the same thought as me.

With my monthly favourites posts I am going to move away from mentioning my five favourite beauty items and just mention one or two. I’m planning to share TV shows, movies, music and games I have loved that month, but I’ll only talk about books if I’ve actually read any. I love reading manga, but I’ve not ready any for a while. I’m going to change that in 2021 but I don’t see the point in having books on my monthly favourites if I’m not reading any each month… It’s just pointless.

I’ll be adding some new categories such as – favourite piece of clothing, favourite candle/scent and anything else that comes to mind to be honest with you! It will be random each month me thinks depending on how that month has been like etc.

I didn’t know whether to lumpย  my monthly favourites and my wish list together so I have more room for content each month but I don’t know… I worry a post will be far too long then, so I am swaying towards keeping them separated. What do you guys think? I do love my monthly wish list posts! ๐Ÿ˜€

Please take another amazing bath photo! If there is a brand I have fallen in love with this year it’s Bake Bath Love. They’ll be getting a mention in my Christmas Shop Small UK post.

In 2020 I haven’t work with as many people as I usually do with gifted posts, but at the same time we obviously know why this is the case! However, I am hoping in 2021 to work with more people, but we shall see! I’m not fussed if I don’t of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

One more thing I want to share with you today is something that I ordered at the start of November as a payday treat for myself. As many know, I love Bee & Puppycat and have done since I discovered it back in 2013 but 2020 has been the year I’m finally buying some merchandise (fan made mostly) from the show.

I finally decided to treat myself to an amigurumi (Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures) of Puppycat, as well as some stickers. He’s by Lunaticgumis and I love him so much! He arrived today and he’s been very much loved already. He’s now on my plushie shelf next to the Puppycat polymer clay keyring that I commissioned from MelonDesignsByEllen. However, I think I will be doing a massive talk about these on a separate post in December. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s basically everything I wanted to catch up with here though… I have some exciting posts coming up in December, which may even end up going through to January too including:

Black Milk Clothing x Animal Crossing – I am beyond excited for all this stuff to arrive… I say all, it’s just three items. It’ll be similar to the one I wrote about the Pokemon goodies, which you can read here for the time being.

Pikarar – This is going to be a huge haul and one I need to share with you all! It’ll include Pokemon and shiba inu clothing! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m sure there will be more but those two stand out for me at the moment so I wanted to get them mentioned here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Told you I loved them Instagram filters… ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m not going to ramble anymore guys! What do you think of the small adjustments I’m thinking of doing to my blog in 2021? Make sure to let me know what you think in the comments.

Is there anything else you would like to see more or less of on here? I’d like to hear what you think. In 2021 I want to mostly continue what I’ve done this year, aka one post a week and write about what the hell I want to! ๐Ÿ˜€

Aside from letting me know what you think, how have you all been doing? How are you dealing with COVID? Are you loving lockdown hating lockdown? Let me know everything. ๐Ÿ™‚

Until next time though guys, stay safe, take care and I’ll see you soon!

May Favourites โ€™20

It’s safe to say that May was weird and really shitty… For me at least anyway!

As many of you may or may not have noticed, I was quiet on my blog this past month and the reason for that being that I just didn’t feel up to writing any content… Which makes me feel incredibly sad. I wanted to write, but I just didn’t have the mental energy to. Most evenings after work I found myself crawling into bed (yes, even during the hotter days) with my laptop and Switch Lite and did nothing constructive. I binged TV shows, played Animal Crossing and that was about it.

I’m not meaning to start off this months favourites with a sop story but I just want to be honest as to why my blog was so quiet this month. I’m hoping that June will be better and I can continue to bring you all the geeky, kawaii content that I know you all love!

Aside from May being rubbish, May was also a month that seemed to fly by and I discovered some new things, as well as remembering and enjoying some old.

  • Molton Brown Fiery Pink Pepper Bath & Shower Gel.

I recently discovered that I had a bottle of this in my bathroom cupboard and was delighted! In May we had some water damage from our bathroom to the kitchen and I was and still am gutted. So, this has been lovely to rediscover and use every other day in the shower. The scent left behind on the skin is strong and lingers around for ages after you get out of the shower, which I don’t often get after I’ve had a shower. I know Molton Brown isn’t cheap, so I don’t know when I’ll ever buy a bottle of their bath & shower gel again. I think Iย mightย treat myself in the future, but it’ll depend. I highly recommend though if you love your showers and want a real treat!

  • Nails Inc Ocean Ever After Nail Polish.

I have been blown away by this nail polish the last couple of weeks of May! It has lasted over a week without chipping and I am so pleased. I really miss having my nails painted with gel and I honestly can’t wait for my nail tech to be open again so I can go and get pampered. Whilst I wait for my nail tech to open her salon, I’ve been painting my nails again, which honestly I have somewhat missed. As I write this post I’m still wearing this gorgeous blue/green shade is still intact and I love it so much. It’s the perfect shade for summer due to the mermaid effect and whilst I’m not getting comments on it due to isolation, I know when I’ve worn this in the past, people have always commented. This was part of a duo set, which I have a feeling Nails Inc don’t sell anymore. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  • Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter.

This is another product I recently rediscovered as I needed another lip balm. I used to use this one loads during a period when the corners of my mouth were prone to infections (I know that’s gross, but it’s true!), and for some reason I discontinued use. I think this was down to Vaseline working better at the time alongside the steroid cream I was given. However, it’s back out and being used daily and it is amazing! First of all, I love blueberry scented (and flavoured) things and this smells so fruity and yummy. This really is a lip butter, it’s thick and a little goes a long way. It feels really nice on the lips when applied and like it’s actually moisturising. I especially love to use this before bed, so I can wake up with soft lips in the morning. Although it’s pink in the tin, it doesn’t tint or change the colour of your lips, which is great too. I definitely recommend this.

  • Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover.

As I mentioned previously above, due to COVID I’m not able to go and get my nails done by my nail tech, so I’m doing them myself at home. I decided to buy myself a cuticle remover from Amazon so I could do my nails properly. I hadn’t touched my cuticles over a month and they were pretty bad. I couldn’t wait for this remover to arrive, as well as the cuticle remover tools I’d ordered too. This works amazing and it only takes 15 seconds for it to work it’s magic as well. A little goes a long way and it doesn’t hurt or sting when applied. I even did Dane’s nails with it too to see what it could do. The results were amazing. I use this once a week when I paint my nails, I don’t know if that’s too much or not, but it’s what I’m doing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray.

With us in the UK being graced with warm weather at the moment, both me and Dane have been using this cooling foot spray at the moment. It’s so refreshing to use throughout the day whilst we’re at home, especially when you’re feeling really warm! They always say if you’re feeling either hot or cold, you need to cool/warm your feet up for your whole body to cool/warm up. This definitely applies to me, so when I’ve been really warm in the day, I’ve sprayed some of this on both the tops and bottoms of my feet, let it dry and then gone about my day. It’s so quick drying and due to the size of the bottle it’s handy to take out and about with you if need be. I always forget how much I love this foot spray!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show โ€“ย Jackass.

I’ve been binge watching a lot of shows this month, especially as I needed to cheer myself up after a few crappy things happening. I haven’t bingedย Jackassย for a while now, so I decided now was a good time to do so. So far I’ve only watched season 1 and 2 of the show but I always forget how much I love it, certain scenes and how much I miss Ryan Dunn (who died almost 10 years ago). The guys are currently working on Jackass 4, which I am so excited for. I am wondering what will happen however, as this will be the first film without Ryan Dunn. Nonetheless, I am still really excited and will continue to binge watch the rest of the show, as well as the movies.

Favourite Movie โ€“ Unbroken.

This is a film that Dane popped on one evening for us to watch and I ended up finishing watching it on my own (as he had things to do). This film is amazing and I loved every moment of it. It’s directed by Angelina Jolie and is all about an American man fighting in the Second World War. He is captured by the Japanese and sent off to various prisoner of war camps. It’s all based on a true story and it’s a really emotional watch. It’s on Netflix and I can’t recommend it enough to watch. I might watch it again soon in the future, as I loved it that much.

Favourite Book โ€“ Skinema.

Yes. I actually read a book! Well, part of a book anyway. I read and I haven’t done that for months… If not years at this point. This book was actually kindly bought for me from Estelle (go check out her blog over at Estellosaurus!) after sharing my Amazon wish list (which I’ll link here). I was so happy when it arrived as I have wanted this book for years! I actually bought it from Amazon before Christmas but it got lost in the post so I had to get a refund. I even tweeted Chris Nieratko telling him I’d ordered the book and he replied! Told me it’s probably going to be shit so to be prepared. So far, I love it and it was a mixture of what I did and didn’t expect it to be. I highly recommend reading if you’re a fan ofย Jackass, as well as have a dark sense of humour and open to anything.

Favourite Songs โ€“ Bush – “The Sound of Winter” and Institute – “When Animals Attack”.

I’ve been binge listening to Radio Bam since lock down began over two months ago and I’ve now finished it. Two of the songs I discovered years ago through the episodes and now love are my two favourite songs this month. They’re both bands fronted by Gavin Rossdale by the way. Out of the two I love “The Sound of Winter” the most as it has such a great sound behind it. These are just songs I’ve found myself listening to almost everyday whilst working and doing things in my own time (such as writing and playing Animal Crossing). Go and give them a listen if you like rock music and haven’t heard them before. ๐Ÿ˜€

Favourite Game โ€“ Stillย Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Is it really odd for Animal Crossing to be here again this month? I’ve not played anything else in all honesty and I think it’s obvious why. This game is going to be on my monthly favourites for quite some time now due to how excited I still am to play it. For the whole of June there will be a new event coming called Wedding Season Event, which I am really excited for! We haven’t yet seen Reese and Cyrus yet in New Horizons so I’m excited to see them both soon! It is getting to a point at the moment with Animal Crossing where I would like some more events to come, as well as the introduction to some old and very loved characters. I’m really missing The Roost and Brewster right now, so I hope we hear about it from Nintendo soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

So there are all my favourites from May! I can’t believe we’re already in June. June is always a momentous month for me. It’s the month we got the keys to our house, but most of all it’s mine and Dane’s anniversary. We’ve been in our house for 4 years and together for 7 years. All that time has really flew by and I can’t quite believe it to be honest with you. I’m also excited for June to come along as May was shit. June will hopefully be the month we get things done and sorted… Which I may talk about more in the future. ๐Ÿ˜€

So, what were your favourites from May? Are you going to check out any of the things I mentioned in mine? Let me know in the comments! ๐Ÿ˜€

Until next time, take care and stay safe. ๐Ÿ™‚

Asda NSPA Fruit Extracts Shower & Bath Gels – Review

This is a review I didn’t think I would do to be honest and not because of any negative reason, I just didn’t think it was something that NEEDED reviewing. I assume everyone knows about these awesome shower and bath gels but according to people I know they actually don’t AND GUESS WHAT? YOU’RE MISSING OUT!

I also wanted to write this review today because Asda currently have an offer on which includes these and I want people to take advantage of that like me and Dane have.

For quite a long time on and off I’ve bought these shower and bath gels and I’ve tried at least a hand full of different ones and I can’t wait to try more!

Today I’ll be reviewing three different scents and mentioning ones I’ve tried in the past. I hope you enjoy this review! I haven’t done one for a couple of weeks now so I wanted to try and get something out there! Lipstick reviews will be back very soon by the way. ๐Ÿ˜›

When me and Dane visited Asda Friday just gone we saw that Asda had a HUGE offer on their health and beauty products which was 3 for 2. We used this offer on loads of health and beauty stuff from deodorant, some erm feminine products for myself *coughs loudly* and of course these NSPA shower and bath gels.

I don’t actually think this offer is on anymore as it isn’t showing up on the website… Maybe it was just something for the bank holiday. WHICH I can’t believe we had again. Urgh. Too many bank holidays that I don’t get to enjoy due to my job. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyways! Me and Dane picked up three of the shower and bath gels on the offer which are lemon, blueberry and strawberry.

The first thing I want to talk about is how gorgeous the colours of these gels are. Due to the 14 different scents there are all sorts of colourful bottles on the shelves when you go to buy these. As you can see from the pictures of the three we picked up, we’re going to have a very colourful bathroom!

The 14 scents you can choose from are shea butter, creamy coconut, strawberry, pineapple, vanilla, green tea, blueberry, sweet almond, raspberry, lemon, mango, passion fruit, red cherry and runny honey.

I remember when they had a lime shower and bath gel which smelt amazing and I loved using it throughout the summer the year I bought it. Sadly it’s been discontinued now and by the looks of things replaced with the lemon one, which is just as good!

These are all shower and bath gels I would happily use throughout the year, but they’re obviously going to be amazing throughout the warmer summer months! They’re also all 500ml bottles so these will last you ages! Between me and Dane using them everyday in our morning showers one bottle will probably last us a month. You don’t need a lot on a sponge or shower scrunchy as a little goes a long way!

I wouldn’t say this is super moisturising for the skin but it always leaves me feeling squeaky clean and smelling amazing after I get out of the shower!

This put under the hot tap for a bath makes loads of lovely scented bubbles! I know it’s not Lush but to be honest it makes a change from using Lush all the time and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper! Before now I’ve put it in the bath and washed my hair, my hair ends up smelling like whichever of the shower and bath gels I’ve used.

The brightest shade out of these is definitely the strawberry one. This has left out shower scrunchy stained pink before now! That isn’t a bad thing though. ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ll talk about each gel individually, first I’ll talk about the blueberry one.

I love blueberries so much! The actual fruit, the smell, the taste and hell even the colour of them is amazing! The first thing I did when I first bought this gel was give it a sniff to see if it smelt as good as it looked, which it did! It smells so fruity yet with a bit of sweetness to it. It reminds me of I Love… Cosmetics blueberry smoothie range that they had out years ago. I loved it so much and since I was about 20 I haven’t been able to find the blueberry smoothie scents since. This has definitely replaced it though and I wish NSPA had more products with the same scent. It strangely reminds me of the slush drinks you buy in the cinema, even though (as far as I know anyway…) they don’t do a blueberry flavour. Either way this one smells amazing!

Second one I’ll be talking about is lemon.

This is the one out of the three gels that we’ve not tried until now and as you can see we’re using this one at the moment. This smells amazing! I love citrus scents in summer but I love them more in the mornings! I find if I’m up really early for work that it helps ย me to wake up due to the sharp and uplifting scent. The yellow colour is gorgeous too and really adds a pop of colour to your shower. This doesn’t smell of like sweet or candy, it genuinely smells like you’ve cut a lemon in half and you’re smelling it. ๐Ÿ˜›

Finally I’m talking about the strawberry gel, which is both mine and Dane’s favourite.

This is our second bottle now and I think from now on every time we pop to Asda for our food shop we’ll be picking up a bottle of this if it’s on offer. It’s a bright red shower gel and one that really does show a pop of colour when used in the shower, as well as when left on display on the side of the bath or shower. This smells just like strawberry laces but not in a sickly sweet way. More of a relaxing yet yummy scent.

These are definitely some of mine and Dane’s favourite shower gels and at ยฃ3.00 for a 500ml bottle I think these are a complete bargain! I mean considering you’ll pay ยฃ5.00 for a 250ml bottle in The Body Shop and extortionate prices from Lush between ยฃ15.00-ยฃ20.00 for a 500ml bottle.

I don’t know if it’s the older I’ve gotten or even since buying the house but as much as I love both The Body Shop and Lush shower gels they are a bloody rip off for what they claim to do to your skin and what they actually don’t do. I don’t mind paying ยฃ3.00 for these shower gels mind as I find whilst they don’t do anything mind blowing, I’m saving quite a lot of money in the long run really.

These are currently on offer for ยฃ2.00 each at Asda so if you like the sound of them make sure to pick one or two up!

Have you ever tried the NSPA shower and bath gels? If not do you think you would? Hey maybe you have, if so what do you think of them? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

I hope you’re all well folks and had a lovely bank ย holiday weekend, sorry I’ve been a bit crap with blogging lately. I’m on late shifts at work right now and by the time I get in from work I eat my dinner and go to sleep. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ That and my mental health is pretty bad right now… But that’s for another post.

Until next time though take care all!

Lush Valentine’s Day 2017

Oh jeez Valentines Day… Such a bullshit holiday! Although it does make a good excuse for eating like shit. The only thing I do for Valentine’s Day is buy Dane a card and write a soppy message inside.

HOWEVER not all bad things come with Valentines Day such as soppy couples, restaurants being busy, expensive boxes of chocolates for sale and all sorts of stuff like that. It does come with some good, such as Lush’s Valentine’s Day range and this year it looks amazing!

A few weeks ago I popped into the Lush store in Birmingham to have a look at what they had on offer this year. Let me tell you, the store was HEAVING but what did I expect on a Saturday afternoon? In the end I managed to go back in and have a sniff and closer look at some of the new goodies, as well as some returning favourites. I thought I would talk through the new products with you guys and share which ones I want to pick up… Even though I’m meant to be on a spending ban… >.<

I might be naughty and get one or two things…

From L-R – ROW ONE – The Kiss Lip Scrub, Two Hearts Beating As One, Lovestruck, The Kiss Lip Gloss and Love You, Love You Lots. From L-R – ROW TWO – Unicorn Horn, Cupid, Over And Over, Roller and Kiss Me Quick. From L-R – ROW THREE Lover Lamp, Ladybird, Rose Bombshell, Love Spell and Prince Charming.

First of all I’ll talk about the lip products which consists of two for the Valentine’s Day range and are both returners from last year and if I’m not mistaken the year before too.

  • The Kiss Lip Scrub – ยฃ5.75 (link)

The Lush lip scrubs are pretty amazing to be honest, but personally lip scrubs aren’t my cup of tea. This one is cute for Valentine’s Day and comes with some pretty pink hearts on the top of it when you first open the jar. From memory this has a sweet scent and taste similar to the Bubblegum Lip Scrub, but this is more grown up and in my opinion is nicer.

  • The Kiss Lip Gloss – ยฃ5.95 (link)

Lush’s lip products when they were in the tins were horrible, but I don’t like any lip products that come in a pot. Lush now do the tubes for their lip products and they look amazing! I remember this lip gloss coming out ages ago and I wouldn’t exactly call it a lip gloss to be honest, it’s more like a tinted lip balm. I’m not a huge fan of this one as it just reminds me of Maybelline’s Baby Lips but with a couple more quid slapped on the price.

Next is the body and shower products, which introduces a new item that people are going crazy for!

  • Love Spell Massage Bar – ยฃ5.95 (link)

I’m not a massive fan of the massage bars from Lush as I find they’re really greasy and as a result can break me out and cause issues with my sensitive skin. This one will be nice for couples who want to have a nice relaxing massage with one another due to the heart shaped nodules it’ll make for a lovely back massage and the floral scent will relax you both.

  • Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card – ยฃ2.00 (link)

Wash Cards are pretty new to Lush and from memory were introduced when the Oxford Street store opened in 2015. This is TINY and in my opinion not worth ยฃ2.00. BUT if you wanted something nice to give to a friend, or even treat yourself to it’ll be nice. You just rip off a bit of the card, apply some water and use all over the body. I’m gutted I didn’t get the chance to smell this as it contains apples and lemons, so I can only imagine how fresh it smells! I wish they had brought this out as a shower gel instead as sadly I won’t pay ยฃ2.00 only to end up using up the whole sheet in one or two washes. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

What Love You, Love You Lots Soap looks like before being cut up!

  • Love You, Love You Lots Soap – 100g ยฃ4.25, 250g ยฃ10.63 and 500g ยฃ21.25 (link)

Like the massage bars I’m not a huge fan of the Lush Soaps and although this was up for smelling inside the Birmingham store I never bothered… I’m just never sold by any of the soaps Lush come out with and the only soap I did like by Lush was discontinued, even as a best seller! ANYWAY… Love You, Love You Lots smells of roses, which of course is always associated with Valentine’s Day. I’ve heard a few people say this soap reminds them of the Rose Bubbleroon and the matching Rose Shower Gel (which is a Christmas exclusive) and although I love the Bubbleroon I’m not so keen on the shower gel. Sadly this isn’t for me, but if you love floral scents, especially rose this is right up your street!

  • Prince Charming Shower Cream – 100g ยฃ5.50, 250g ยฃ10.95, 500g ยฃ18.50 and 1kg ยฃ32.95 (link)

I LOVE this shower cream and have always bought a little bottle every year to try! I’ve tried both the gel and cream formula and the letter is definitely better. This contains marshmallow and vanilla which makes Prince Charming smell sweet but not sickly and is more comforting than anything. I find this one is lovely to use in the evenings before bed, or before a night out! I really want to pick up a big bottle of this for me and Dane to use in the summer.

I was going to talk about all the bath products together… But there’s nine and I think that’s a bit much so I thought I would break it up with the bubble bars and the bath bombs. First ones I’ll talk about are the bubble bars.

  • Two Hearts Beating As One Bath Melt – ยฃ3.95 (link)

I like the bath melts that Lush also recently came out with when the Oxford Street store opened, however not all of them are great. I gave this a sniff in store and couldn’t smell much to be honest (which is a problem I keep getting with Lush products lately…) but even when this was demoed in the water for me, I STILL couldn’t smell anything! It’s supposed to smell floral. Very disappointed… This being said for nearly ยฃ4.00 you can get at least two baths out of this one, but I would say stick to the normal bath melts and save nearly ยฃ2.00 towards another normal bath melt.

  • Lovestruck Bubble Bar – ยฃ4.25 (link)

I have to say this bubble bar makes me so angry, because it smells amazing but it’s TINY! For over ยฃ4.00 I would expect it to be the size of The Comforter Bubble Bar. What’s going on Lush??? This is supposed to look like an emoji (obviously!) which is funny although very hipsterish and annoying… I hate the whole emoji trend as I find it’s so tacky! ANYWAY! This smells of lemons and is so refreshing, so perfect for mornings off work when you have a long day ahead of you. I wouldn’t have expected this sort of scent to come up for Valentine’s Day, but I do like it. Just a shame about the price.

  • Ladybird Bubble Bar – ยฃ3.95 (link)

This bubble bar was a newbie last year and one I heard nothing but good things about, so I wanted to try it so badly. Sadly I was on a much needed spending ban and I never picked one up, but to my delight Lush brought it back this year so I finally got to smell it a few weeks ago and it certainly didn’t let me down. It smells of a light mint scent but quite sweet at the same time. I love it though and I intend to buy quite a few when I get paid. I can’t go another year without giving this little cutie a go! It would be great teamed up with Intergalactic Bath Bomb and maybe even Snow Fairy Shower Gel or The Comforter Shower Gel.

  • Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar – ยฃ4.25 (link)

This is probably everyone’s favourite product from the Valentine’s Day range… Or at least one of them. I know it’s one of mine! I still have one from last year which I know is pretty bad but I’ve been saving it for an evening where I’m really tired and need a good sleep. As you can see it’s a colourful bar which is to represent a unicorns horn. It’s quite a strong scented bubble bar and smells of lavender, which I really like! I’ve used these before in the past when I want a good relaxing bath before bed. I want to pick up a couple of these before they fly off the shelves for another year.

The final lot of products I’ll be talking about are the bath bombs and one of these is actually an Oxford Street exclusive BUT will be available on the Kitchen until the Valentine’s Day range disappears off the website.

  • Cupid Bath Bomb – ยฃ2.95 (link)

This is one of the cheaper pieces in the range and one of the new ones as well. It’s a sweet looking bath bomb and the name of it is very apt. If you’re familiar with the Razzle Dazzle Bath Melt then this smells exactly the same, which is a mixture of raspberry, lime and rose. This sadly isn’t my cup of tear but for the price would make a lovely treat for someone wanting to give something nice to their Valentine. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Over And Over Bath Bomb – ยฃ4.25 (link)

This is one of my favourite new products for the range this year! It reminds me of Never Mind The Ballistics Bath Bomb from the Christmas 2016 range due to the bath melt on top and the rest being a bath bomb. I found the NMTB bath bomb didn’t have such a strong scent (even though I bought 2 in the sale… HA!) but this one really does have a strong citrus scent and I LOVE it! I know I’ll be buying a couple of these before they go.

  • Roller Bath Bomb – ยฃ4.25 (link)

This has been a fast Kitchen favourite since either before or during Christmas and one everyone has been talking about for a while, so now it’s available to buy for a month online as well as in the Oxford Street store! Like Never Mind The Ballistics Bath Bomb and Over And Over Bath Bomb it has a bath melt on the top. It shares its scent with Yummy Mummy which is a creamy strawberry scent with a hint of floral. Sadly this bath bomb is CONSTANTLY sold out when online, which is annoying. Be quick if you want to get your hands on this!

  • Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb – ยฃ4.25 (link)

This is another returning bath bomb from last year which did really well, due to peoples love of Rose Shower Gel. I haven’t tried this one, but I wouldn’t mind it. As you can tell from the name it smells of roses, which isn’t such a big thing for me as I’ve already mentioned. However the Rose Bubbleroon doesn’t smell anything like the shower gel to me and instead of being strongly floral, I feel it smells sweeter. This is why I’d like to give the bath bomb a go and see what all the fuss is about.

  • Lover Lamp Bath Bomb – ยฃ4.25 (link)

Finally we have Lover Lamp which is exactly the same as Lava Lamp Bath Bomb which is a permanent bath bomb. I was annoyed when an employee at the Birmingham store told me there’s nothing like it when it was set relatively close to the Lava Lamp and that this had come out before Lava Lamp. Erm no. ANYWAY this smells fresh and like oranges which I really like! I sadly prefer Lava Lamp to this one as it’s available all the time.

So apart from anymore Oxford Street exclusives and some gifts for Valentine’s Day, that is all of the products coming out for 2017!

I really love the collection this year and feel like Lush have brought out some great products and scents, however I do feel some of the products are too small for the price, or too expensive for what they are. But meh this will only continue to happen the older Lush gets.

Have you tried any yet? If so which ones? Let me know your thoughts on the range this year!

Until next time all take care and have a lovely weekend!

Lush Santa’s Postbox Soap – Review*

Woohoo it is the first Lush Christmas review of the year! I don’t think I reviewed any Christmas goodies last year which is a real shame to be honest. I just never ended up buying anything until the Boxing Day sales… Hey if I can grab loads of bargains then hell why not?!

A couple of weeks ago I attended a Lush bloggers event in their Coventry store (you can read about it here!) and when the event was over they gave us all goody bags which was amazing! I got four items altogether, one being a bubble bar I got to make during the event, as well as the soap I am about to review.

Santa’s Postbox is a new edition to Lush’s Christmas products this year and one I really like. I’ve never been a big fan of the Lush soaps for various reasons, the main one being that I’m allergic to a lot of Lush’s soaps. However I haven’t yet had a negative experience with this soap.

Lush describe Santa’s Postbox as:

Attention please! Attention please!
Last call for post! No time to freeze!
Rush to the postbox. Lick the stamp.
Ignore the painful writer’s cramp.
Ha ha, you’ll say, new gifts for me!
Ho ho, he’ll answer, wait and see!

The colourful envelopes and presents inside every chunk of this soap were posted before yours, so there’s no time to waste! When you’re ready to seek out the nearest pillar box, simply follow your nose. Fresh satsumas are squeezed to give this an energising, citrusy scent. Orange flower absolute, bergamot and Sicilian mandarin oils evoke the inimitable excitement of peeling the satsuma at the bottom of your stocking.

some_text

The soap before it is cut up looks amazing and just like a red British postbox and shares it’s scent with Satsuma bath bomb. The bath bomb was originally called Dashing Santa but Lush have changed it this year and also made it an Oxford Street Exclusive. It smells as you can guess just like juicy satsumas and like oranges and lemons which I love! It’s really nice to use in the evenings as a pick me up and in the mornings before work to wake me up. Depending how the big postbox soap is cut depends on the colour of your chunk of soap. Mine is mostly red with one dark orange patch. I love the colour of it.

As this contains extra virgin coconut oil it means it’s lovely and moisturising for the skin, which I love as when the weather gets colder my eczema really does hit strongly, so I need something that will calm it down during the week when it’s flaring.

I mostly use this soap in the bath after a long day at work as well as for using to shave with both in the shower and in the bath. That’s what I mostly do with Lush soaps as I find they work great for shaving due to the creamy lather they produce. However due to the gel like consistency of this soap it doesn’t lather up as creamy as (for example) Rock Star soap would.

I have noticed the past couple of days a little bit of a drying on my legs and I’m unsure if this is from the soap or from something else. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was from the soap sadly but I’ll make sure to keep my eye on it of course!

Sadly I don’t know what size chunk Lush gave me, but I can only assume that it was their standard 100g size. The soap is available to buy in a small 100g size for ยฃ3.25, a medium 250g size for ยฃ8.10 or a large 500g size for ยฃ16.25.

Personally I probably wouldn’t pick Santa’s Postbox up again, not because I don’t like it because I love it, but because I want to try other soaps instead.

I know this isn’t a very long Lush review but I’m not going to lie… What can I really say about a soap? ๐Ÿ˜›

Have you tried Santa’s Postbox? If so what do you think of it? Or if you haven’t tried it yet would you like to pick it up? Also!!! Make sure to let me know what your favourite Lush Christmas product is this year.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!

Lush Christmas 2016

some_text

Woohoo it’s part two of my post(s) about the Lush Halloween and Christmas collections that recently leaked. This post is by far going to be my favourite of the two as I love Christmas time at Lush. They bring out my favourite Lush items and whenever I visit a store I always just feel so Christmassy and reminiscent of the Christmases before.

I am super excited for the collection this year, even though I am extremely sad and disappointed to say goodbye to Yog Nog bath bomb and Yog Nog soap. As a “sorry” for this I expected a shower cream to be announced but as of yet there is no news of this. There is a replacement for Yog Nog of course, which I will talk about at some point in the post.

I am going to talk about the new products that I am excited about this year, as well as any updated and new changes to some old favourites. By the way these aren’t in any sort of order.

 photo Christmas 15_zpsvvddgoqf.jpg

Two of my favourite Christmas bath bombs are on this page, those being Shoot For The Stars bath bomb and of course So White bath bomb. They’ve revamped them this year and I really like the look of them both. The gold stars in Shoot For The Stars are meant to be bath melts, which will be lovely!

 photo Christmas 14_zpst4eieq6m.jpg

Some old favourites again, including a new favourite last year that being Stardust bath bomb. Lush listened to its customers and their constant complains of Stardust’s breaking easily in transit and instead made the bath bomb sturdier. I just hope it doesn’t cost more money now as it was a good price before. I’m unsure of what I think about Never Mind The Ballistics bath bomb right now… It doesn’t really ring to a Christmas vibe to me. We shall see.

 photo Christmas 1_zps713ahvd0.jpg

I never got to give Northern Lights bath bomb a go when it came out a couple of years back but it’s come back this year and I know a lot of Lushies who are really happy about this! I wouldn’t mind giving Satsuma bath bomb a go to be honest but I’m not overly fussed if I don’t get the chance to. I’ve still got two Father Christmas bath bombs to use, as well as a Snow Angel luxury bath melt.

 photo Christmas 3_zps2ycjjnt8.jpg

I love Snowie bubble bar so damn much and I think it’s easy to see why. It’s of course a bubble bar that is in tribute to the late David Bowie and it’s such a little cutie. I wish they would keep him all year around.

 photo Christmas 4_zpsaf8aqzvi.jpg

I am so bloody happy that The Christmas Penguin bubble bar is back! I wanted to buy him last year and I couldn’t find him anywhere. Well I’m sure he wasn’t around last year anyway! Of course a firm favourite Candy Mountain bubble bar is back as well which I’m pleased about too. I still have one of my Peeping Santa bubble bars from last year. I’ll be using that soon.

 photo Christmas 10_zpse8lz9fed.jpg

I don’t think anything has made me so happy on this list as the Santasaurus reusable bubble bar has. I was worried it would be something horrible smelling (well to me anyway) but I was delighted when I read that it smells of toffee! I wonder if this is to replace Yog Nog somehow? Jester reusable bubble bar also sounds really nice with its citrus scented bubbles.

 photo Christmas 5_zpsocne5xg9.jpg

I was so damn excited when I saw that Snow Fairy got a FUN this year! For ยฃ5.00 I will be stocking up on these bad boys to use in the bath! Reindeer And Robin FUN sounds delicious too as it is said to smell of cola. NOM!

 photo Christmas 13_zpsclkbgrhd.jpg

Urgh Lush soap… I’m not a massive fan of the stuff as it either dries my skin out and causes my eczema to flare, or it gives me allergic reactions. ICK! The only two soaps I have been able to use and enjoy from the Christmas limited edition is Reindeer Rock soap and Yog Nog soap. Sadly they have discontinued the latter, but have kept Reindeer Rock on and changed it a little. I’ll be excited to pick up a newer version of it. It smells and reminds me of The Comforter.

 photo Christmas 12_zpsf2cgc1q7.jpg

I am so damn excited for the roulades this year! I am sad that the Yog Nog bath bomb and soap have gone, but Lush haven’t upset me completely as they’ve brought it out in a roulade form. They’ve also done the same with Candy Cane which was also a soap for a while. I’ll definitely be trying both. I’ve never tried a roulade before so it’ll be exciting to give them both a go.

 photo Christmas 11_zpsbh7umzqb.jpg

Snow Fairy! That is all I have to say!

 photo Christmas 8_zpsekezluaq.jpg

I’m not a massive fan of the shower jelly that Lush have brought out for Christmas for quite a while now. I do rather like the sound of the Papa Noel face jelly mind. I don’t get how it works though other than breaking off a piece and applying it to the skin. These are soon going to become a regular thing to Lush if you ask me as I have already seen leaked images of a bunny shaped one for Easter…

 photo Christmas 7_zpsvj5bhphn.jpg

I am so pleased that Lush brought back the Salt And Peppermint Bark body scrub as I wanted to try it so badly last year and I never got the chance to. Now I can! YAY!

 photo Christmas 2_zpsyhsxoxcf.jpg

Oh my I am excited for everything on this page! Most of all the Snow Fairy body conditioner. I love Snow Fairy as it’s just one of my favourite scents and reminds me to when I was a child. I wanted to pick up Christingle body conditioner last year but I never got a chance to. I’ll definitely be picking up both this year. It also looks like they’ve made two sizes instead of just he one this year which is great for trying before committing to aย  larger pot!

 photo Christmas 6_zpsnyj9cot0.jpg

Fairy Dust dusting powder came out last year and I was given a bottle by my friend Sophie that her sister no longer wanted. I haven’t used it much to be perfectly honest but it smells amazing and I’ll be using it quite a bit throughout the colder months. I love the sound of Mr. Sandman dusting powder as it’s obviously Twilight scented and would make a lovely edition to my evening routine.

 photo Christmas 9_zpsvwvpqm1r.jpg

I love the lip products Lush bring out at Christmas as they’re always really pretty and taste amazing! The Santa Baby lip tint and scrub both taste and smell of cola which is good of course. NOW Lush are bringing out a blackcurrant offering called Sugar Plum Fairy. OMG YES YES YES! I will probably buy both of them, especially the lip tint. Come on it’s purple. ๐Ÿ˜›

So those were my briefs thoughts on the new Christmas products leaked for 2016. It’s a shame they have leaked so early but Lush needn’t worry to be honest as it will just show them what products we’re all loving or not loving as much… I am once again sad about Yog Nog. I really hope it comes back!

What products do you like the look of for Christmas? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Christmas Presents!

Merry Christmas one and all! Even if it is a tad too late to say now… Everyone is saying, “Happy New Year!” at the moment, aren’t they?

ANYWAY! Christmas has come and gone once again, and as you can tell from my absence the past couple of days, I’ve had a really good one this year. I spent the morning over at my boyfriend’s house with his family, which was lovely. We hadn’t done this yet, so it really did make a nice change. Then in the evening we came over to my house, which was super chilled out. Perfect Christmas!

I worked Boxing Day, which sucked but it was a laugh with my colleagues and we all talked about our Christmas Day’s, and what we got for Christmas.

Tonight I’ll be sharing what goodies I received for Christmas! As I’ve stated the past couple of years when writing these sorts of posts, I am in no way bragging, or showing off about what I received for Christmas. I love reading posts like this (because I’m a nosey cow!) so I always imagine people would enjoy reading mine too… Especially anyone who loves foxes, and anime/manga related goodies, as that’s what the majority was which I received.

I also want to apologise for crappy pictures. These were taken late at night, I was shattered after a busy day, and I knew if I didn’t get something taken, I would have nothing to write about now as I’ve literally not had any time.

So, here are my presents!

As you can see I received a lot of gifts, and this isn’t even all of it! Nope, there is more…

As I mentioned in my holiday haul post here my dad bought me this gorgeous Michael Kors Riley handbag! It has been my go to bag ever since the holiday, and I can see it being used pretty much forever now… I love using it for work as it’s so light to carry and it fits the right amount of items in.

One of the best presents I received for Christmas was nightwear. I haven’t received any for quite some time, so when my boyfriends parents bought me this fox slipper socks, and my boyfriend bought me these woodland animal pajamas, I was thrilled! The pajamas he bought me are so damn comfortable as well! I wore them from Christmas Day to this morning, and I wish I could be wearing them now. I love long-sleeved pajama tops!

My boyfriends family were really generous and lovely this year with their presents to me. My boyfriends brother and his girlfriend bought me Lush, and although my boyfriend states that they didn’t know which gift set I was after, they bought me the exact one! I’d eyed this set up only a week ago in Lush, due to it coming with Twilight Shower Gel, which is a limited edition product, and only comes out in the Lush Kitchen. I haven’t used it yet, but I can’t wait to.

My boyfriends parents bought me various little bits and pieces, from the fox slippers mentioned earlier, a cute little candle with squirrels on it, and this beautiful fox pillow. I snuggled it all morning after opening it, and it now sits lovely on my bed… I’m leaning against it right now, and it’s so fluffy and comfortable! They also bought me some Pandora, but I’m saving that until last.

My families gifts were lovely, and to the point. Alongside all these my mom also bought me a navy dressing gown, but I never got a picture of it, sorry. One of the nicest presents she bought me was this gorgeous fox mug! I had told her I wanted it from Avon for a while, and she offered to pick it up for me. Alas she told me it had sold out, and had secretly hidden it for Christmas. She also bought me a cute little fox purse. I’m unsure what I’ll use it for at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll soon find a use for it. The hair towels were a complete surprise, and I was keen on getting some new ones, so these pink ones will do just the job! I love using these towels to dry my long hair, they really do the trick. As my mom did last year, she has done it again and bought me a new face powder, only this time on by Laura Geller. So far since getting it a few days ago I’ve been using it and it’s lovely, I cannot complain.

My brother is great when it comes to presents, he always gets good ones, and usually he’ll get perfume. He never knows what perfume I’m after (because I don’t really talk to him about that sort of thing) but he always seems to get me something that I think, “Ooo that’s nice… Meh too much money…” and it makes me smile. This year he has bought me the latest scent by Marc Jacobs, Decadence. I can’t even describe the scent for this. It’s pretty unique, and reminds me of something that Thierry Mugler would come out with. The bottle for this does astonish me too, with its little handbag design. This came in a gift set with a shower gel, which I used on Boxing Day. I intend to wear this on my birthday.

My boyfriend bought me so much stuff! Like SO much stuff! But in return, I also bought him lots of things. The majority of what he seemed to pick up for me, they were fox themed. He’s never bought me this much fox related stuff before, which surprised me. He bought me a fox umbrella, and a fox car air freshener from a company called The Fox Project, a charity which helps foxes that have been hurt, and need urgent treatment. Along these he also bought me two pairs of fox socks from M&S, as well as a fox mug. Said mug now lives at his house, as I’m always pestering him for tea and coffee.

Alongside fox related items he had a habit for buying me lots of books this year (as I did for him too), and Umaru-Chan related goodies. He bought me two of these later items, one being a t-shirt, the other this adorable little notebook! I’ll be using that for work as a blog writing book. As I already mentioned, he bought me books, four in total. Three being books 10, 11, and 12 from the Nana manga, and one being the Pewdiepie book, This Book Loves You. I intend to go through it on my day off Wednesday.

As well as that he also picked up this cute little polar bear, as something I can snuggle when at his house, a Simon’s Cat calendar for next year, and a little Yankee Candle Christmas Eve votive candle.

He also bought me a special Pandora charm, but I’ll be going into more detail about that shortly.

These were two of the best presents I received from my boyfriend. I knew I was getting the Umaru-Chan Nendoroid, but the Baymax Pop! Vinyl was a complete surprise to me! I had told him I wanted it, but I didn’t know if he would buy him for me or not.

I am a massive fan of Big Hero 6, and Baymax really melted my heart. I can’t even remember how many times I cried when we went to watch Big Hero 6… It was a lot though! I’m not a huge Pop! Vinyl fan, I think the majority of the figures they release and sell look crap with how their paint work has been done. HOWEVER some of them do look amazing, and Baymax is one of these. He’s pearlescent in colour, and is bigger than normal Pop! Vinyl’s, which I actually really like.

As for Umaru-Chan she’s a gorgeous little figure, and one I fast fell in love with. I have spoken on my blog before about how much I love the anime that she originates from, and so when I got into the anime, my boyfriend knew he had to order the figure for me. I want to open her so badly, but she’s just too nice to open her. Instead I shall just gaze at her from afar and one day-dream of opening her.

Finally we have the two Pandora charms I was given this year. One from my boyfriend, and one from his parents. His parents gave me the little puppy charm (on the right) that is wearing a cute little red Father Christmas hat. It is such a little cute charm, and I wish I could have got some better pictures of it, but alas I couldn’t at the time. He’s sitting down, with his tongue sticking out. It’s a real cutie to add to my bracelet.

The charm my boyfriend bought for me is the fox (on the left) and it isn’t actually an official Pandora… But I don’t care about that! Pandora are taking too long to release a fox charm (you watch, they will now!) so when my boyfriend saw this one for sale on The Fox Project he snapped it up. It’s a cute little fox lying on a log, and I imagine trying to have a snooze. I love this charm so much because it really does stand out on the whole bracelet.

So that’s all… Wait… That isn’t ALL my presents? Is it?

My mom bought me a Kitchen Aid for Christmas. You know, like the ones they use on The Great British Bake Off? YES ONE OF THOSE! I was gobsmacked when I opened a massive present to not only see this, but a ceramic bowl, as well as a five piece kitchen/culinary set to use with the mixer as well. For weeks my mom has been lying about this massive box in the living room, saying it was something my brother had ordered… But it never budged. Until I came home for Christmas, and it had moved and was covered in wrapping paper. I am so excited to use it, even though I’m not 100% sure when I will yet. When I do, I’m sure I’ll have some sort of blog post about it.

Now, that IS all I received for Christmas. Although I did receive a wash set from my sister-in-law, and nephews, and I am yet to see what friends have bought me.

But yes, that is all my presents from Christmas ’15! What did you get for Christmas? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below, or even link me to your blog post about it if you’re a blogger.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a nice rest after Christmas. I would love one, that’s for sure. ๐Ÿ˜›

October Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it is now November! It only feels like yesterday when I started my masters, and that was well over a year ago now. I graduate the end of this month, and I have another holiday to look forward to with my dad. I have now began to notice it’s feeling colder now, and it’s time to wrap up in my winter coat. I cannot wait to team it up with my Dr Martens.

But for now, I am talking about my favourite from October. It was really hard finding five products to talk about this month to be honest, but after much thought I finally found them, and here they are.

  • The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Sugar Body Scrub.

After using up both of my most recent Lush body scrubs (Rub Rub Rub review and Ocean Salt review) I decided it was time to pick something new up. Whilst having a look around The Body Shop at their sale (as well as some present ideas for my boyfriend) I noticed that some of their previous summer range was in the sale, both Sweet Lemon and Vineyard Peach. So I picked up both of the scrubs, out of the two mind this one is proving to be the better of the two. After using it my skin feels silky soft and smelling delicious! I really wish this was a permanent product though! I’ll be making sure to try their other sugar body scrubs out in the future.

  • Philosophy Sugar Plum Fairy Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath.

I’ve owned this stuff since Christmas 2012 but I’ve only just opened it as I wanted to save it for Christmas, or even for summertime. It’s a gorgeous scented multi-purpose product from Philosophy which is a real treat. I’ve been using it mostly as a bubble bath for evenings when I really want a nice hot bath, but I don’t wish to use my Lush products. It leaves a nice gentle scent on the skin and a little bit of shimmer. It’s perfect for Christmas, and was a limited edition for Christmas too. I don’t actually think you can buy this anymore, which is a shame as I love it so damn much! If you can get your hands on this, I recommend it! You can check out my review from back when my blog first came to be!

  • Reese’s Lip Balm.

I didn’t think I would love this lip balm as much as I actually do. It was an impulse buy when me and my boyfriend popped into Primark about a month ago. I don’t even remember what we bought when we went there but alas, we were there. I spotted this on the till and for ยฃ1.50 my boyfriend picked one up for me. We love anything peanut butter flavoured, and as I LOVE Reese’s Pieces, he thought I would like this. It’s a petroleum jelly style lip balm that doesn’t just smell of the famous peanut butter cups, but even tastes of it! It’s not the most moisturising balm in the world, but it does the trick if I want to quickly apply something whilst on the go, before work, or even whilst I’m at home. I’m going to be buying some of these for people for Christmas, they’re just so amazing!

  • Philosophy Amazing Grace EDP.

Ooo two Philosophy products mentioned this month! This is one I got halfway through the month, and it’s one of my favourites out of the five this month. My mom picked this up on a special offer from QVC in a massive gift set, and kindly gave this perfume to me. Years ago I owned the Amazing Grace shower gel, and the body lotion. I used to use them both every day, and whenever I saw my gran she would always comment how lovely I smelt. So the scent always reminds me of her, so to finally own a perfume version of it is just a dream come true! I wore it loads the first week I got it, and as it’s a huge 125ml bottle, it will definitely last me ages! I recommend the Philosophy perfumes if you fancy trying something new, especially as the grace scents are really gentle and soft. Perfect for daytime wear.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Masochist.

This is by far my favourite product this month, so I’ve made sure to save the best until last. I am due to review this at some point this week, if not next week! But I have worn this quite a lot throughout October and without giving too much away, it is by far one of the best lipsticks I have ever bought. MAC is my favourite for lipsticks, don’t get me wrong they won’t ever be replaced but Jeffree is a really close second. They last ages, the shades are out of the world (especially the new Christmas ones due for release on Friday!), and they are just amazing. I cannot wait to own more, I really can’t. I don’t want to say too much on here as my review will explain it all.

So, those were my favourites from October. To think there is only one more monthly favourites post left, and then I’ll have my 2015 favourites up on my blog. It’s been such a fast paced year and before we know it, it’ll be 2016 and I’ll be turning 26. OH WOE!

What have been your favourites for October? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and hope you had a great weekend.

Lush Big Bang Bubble Bar – Review

I’m back again this week with another Oxford Street exclusive, only this one is currently still an exclusive to the London store. Which sucks, because I LOVE this bubble bar! I’m excited to finally be using it, and talking about it today. Sadly as you can see, there was a chunk missing out of it so the pictures aren’t perfect, but oh well.

This isn’t the biggest bubble bar in the world, but that doesn’t bother me much to be honest. It’s a beautiful blue shade, with yellow dots around the sides, and two pink stars in the middle. The pink stars are actually bath melts, which are pretty cool. I didn’t realise that they were bath melts until it came to crumbling this into the bath. It’s pretty obvious really… But I think I was just being slow.

It is a very pretty bubble bar to look at, and I do wish they stocked this in all the stores. I hope it’ll come out for Spring 2016, as this is a gorgeous citrus scented bubble bar. It contains lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine, so it really does have a lovely refreshing scent to it! It’s said to share its scent with Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub (review here) and Mother Superior Bubble Bar from the Mother’s Day collection. With the bubble bar I could smell that same scent, but I just couldn’t smell it when it came to Rub Rub Rub, which has confused me!

I got two uses out of this bubble bar, which was good to me! I could have use the bath melt part of this bubble bar separately, and I regret not doing just that. When I used the bath melt part in the bath, I didn’t notice any moisturisation when in the bath which I was really disappointed about.

This produced lots of lovely bubbles in the bath, which I was really pleased about! It left behind a delicate light blue shade, which reminded me of something that Johnson’s baby bubble bath would leave behind. The scent of this in the bath wasn’t too strong, which I actually really liked and when I got out of the bath I found that it left a lovely gentle lemon scent on my skin which was relaxing but woke me up at the same time. It also left me feeling soft and smooth, which is always a plus!

This bubble bar was perfect for waking me up during one of my days off work and it was also lovely to use in the evening before bed.

I honestly don’t have much to say about this bubble bar as I didn’t feel it was anything special like some bubble bars out there, but this being said it was a lovely treat and it looked really pretty too.

I would love to pick up another one of these, but sadly this is still an Oxford Street exclusive, which I hope will come out in stores sometime soon.

Would you pick up Big Bang Bubble Bar? Hey, have you already tried it? Let me know in the comments!

Until next week, have a good weekend and go get some Lush Christmas goodies, they’re now out to buy.

Lush Ocean Salt Face & Body Scrub – Review

Another week, another Lush review! This week I’m talking about Ocean Salt Face And Body Scrub. This is actually a product I have now finished, which I feel sad to say as I loved this scrub! Including this version, this came in four different types and I found it a little trialing to try and decide which one I wanted to buy. I finally settled on the original Ocean Salt, and I’m pretty pleased with my choice.

I first tried this product when my local Lush gave me a sample of this a month before I finally picked it up. I’d always wanted to give Ocean Salt a go, but I worried that it wasn’t for me. I’d heard various people comment on how this was too rough for their skin, sensitive or not, so I of course worried it would be the same for me. I also worried that this wouldn’t last me that long… But more on all that throughout the review.

I bought this scrub towards the end of July, start of August and it’s lasted me just over a month… Something that was rather disappointing. I expected it to last me at least two months like my Soap & Glory Sugar Scrub did. I guess I’m just glad I picked up the bigger size! You can get this in two sizes, 120g for ยฃ7.75, or the 250g for ยฃ13.95, which is the one I bought. Also as I mentioned previously including the type I bought, you can pick up Ocean Salt in four types, the original, alcohol free, self-preserving, and alcohol free and self-preserving. These are also all the same price as the original, which I think is good. They of course come in the same size tubs too.

As you can see from the above picture, I had used nearly all of this when I took the pictures for this post. I wish I had taken pictures sooner to be honest, but it was only recently I decided I would start this series, as regular readers will know. This is a creamy product that smells really fresh, and reminds me of holidays. It’s white in colour, but when you get a new tub there is some blue swirling and coloured sat on the top, which makes it look really pretty. There is thick, course sea salt throughout this product as well, which makes it great for a good scrub!

Ocean Salt contains lime, coconut, and vodka, which of course gives it that rich holiday type smell. I wouldn’t say you could smell the vodka that much, but when it comes to that sort of scent my nose isn’t all that sensitive to it. If you don’t like that smell however and are thinking of ordering this online, I would advice popping into Lush and giving it a good sniff beforehand, just incase you don’t like it. You can definitely smell the lime throughout this product, something that really appealed to me. It’s a fresh scent and you can smell it on the skin all day long after use.

When using this on both my face and body, I noticed that it would leave behind a sort of moisturising layer on the skin. Nothing too thick and greasy feeling, but just enough to leave me feeling gorgeous and smelling lovely too. If I didn’t use this all over my body, I would definitely use it on my feet, my thighs, my bum, and the tops of my arms to ensure they got a good scrub.

I mostly used this product on my face once a week when I first bought it, and it would leave my skin feeling soft and smooth! I have sensitive skin and I did worry that this may irritate it, but if anything it was really good! Vodka being alcohol is actually really good for spots, so it really did help in that department.

I noticed when I used this on dry skin it did go that little bit further than it would when I used it on wet skin, which might be a reason why it didn’t last me so long… But I don’t see why that should be an issue. This is definitely not a product where a little goes a long way, which was something I was really disappointed about again, especially considering how much it cost.

However after I bought Cup O’ Coffee Face And Body Mask (review here) it was soon replaced and that’s when I decided to use it on my skin as a once a week, or fortnightly treat. Although I love Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub (review here) more than any other scrub I’ve ever used, this has been used more so than that. Why? I don’t really know to be honest, as Rub Rub Rub to me is the better body scrub. I think the scent reminded me of holidays abroad so much, that I just enjoyed using it more so, especially with the summer season coming to an end.

So, would I buy this again? I don’t actually know. I really loved Ocean Salt, but I didn’t love how long it didn’t last. I guess if I had just used this on my face like I intended to when I first bought it, I would probably still have loads left. So I may pick this up again in the future and make sure I JUST use it on my face, not my body. But that won’t be until I get back from my holiday, or at least when I run out of Cup O’ Coffee, as that is lasting me ages already, and it runs out of date in November! Oops!

Do any of you guys own Ocean Salt, or want to pick it up? If so what do you like about it, and has my review helped you decide whether to buy it or not? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and have a great weekend.
