2019 Top 3 Favourites

It’s the first day of 2020 and I am spending it in the laziest way possible… Sat on my cuddle chair, in my pyjamas and wrapped in a blanket. I don’t think I can get any cosier to be perfectly honest with you. 😛

I decided to do an overall top favourites post for 2019, as December doesn’t have anything special on it that my January 2020 favourites won’t miss out on in a months time. I didn’t so a December 2018 favourites last year and no one missed it to be fair.

I really love writing my favourites post, I can reflect over the month on things I loved and I enjoy writing about them too and sharing with you all. However, 2019 wasn’t a good year for reading for me. I seem to have been too busy seeing friends or chilling on games, my phone or watching something on the TV… Which is a shame. 2020 is the year I will be trying to read a hell of a lot more! I do miss reading my favourite manga series as soon as the books come out in the UK, but at least 2020 means I will have more to read now… See, past Nat was doing future Nat a massive favour! 😛

Anyhoo, no more nattering, it’s time to show off my op 3 from 2019, as well as runner ups. 🙂 I really hope you enjoy the first post of 2020!

Until next time all, Happy New Year! ^_^

January Favourites ’19

It’s officially the first monthly favourites post of 2019! Woohoo! Of course with that comes me talking about all the things I loved throughout the previous month, which of course was January.

I usually talk about beauty and lifestyle and it’s something I really enjoy talking about overall. I wanted to think of more things to add to my monthly favourites, what with there being a New Year and all but honestly, I couldn’t think of anything else worth adding! I thought about maybe adding like a favourite fashion piece, but my fashion sense isn’t everyone’s cup of tea… So I think I’ll leave that for now. 😛

As always I’ll talk about beauty first and lifestyle after! I hope you enjoy the first favourites post of 2019!

  • Lush Christingle Naked Body Conditioner.

This was something I picked up in the sales just after Christmas. Lush in Birmingham had LOADS of these in stock still and for half of the price they retailed for originally. I’m not as big a fan of Lush as I used to be, but as I had some Christmas/birthday money I decided to treat myself to some of the Valentine’s Day Lush goodies! I use this twice a week at the moment and to be honest with you it’s such a fab little product. I do find it to be incredibly greasy and I have to actually wipe off the excess body conditioner with a flannel as it’s just far too greasy feeling for me. I won’t be repurchasing any of the body conditioners again due to this, but it’s nice to give a go for the money. It makes me feel soft and smell of gorgeous peppermint, so I can’t complain. 😛

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

If there is a lip trend I have been loving lately it’s the bitten lip look that has come over from Korean Beauty over to us! It’s been around for ages to be honest and is something I have done on and off over the years, but more so lately than ever before. I love these MUA lip stains as they’re super cheap, come in a nice selection of shades and are long lasting! I love to apply it into the inside of my lips to give that bitten look. It’s flattering too if I don’t want to have a heavy lip colour on and as it wear away quiet naturally, I don’t feel like I need to constantly top up. If you guys would like me to show you how I get the “bitten” look, please let me know and I’ll do a post about it!

  • Cath Kidston Hand Cream.

I got so many of these hand creams in my advent calendar at Christmas and I LOVE them all so damn much! The Cath Kidston hand creams are really thick, which are a blessing for my eczema prone hands. I use them at work mostly to be fair and always keep a tube on my desk now to use on my hands as soon as they feel dry and sore. I do have some at home too, but I have other hand creams I tend to use here. I don’t know if you can buy the tubes that I have, but you can buy all sorts of versions from Cath Kidston in their permanent range, so if you’re after a luxurious hand cream but don’t want to spend a fortune, I definitely recommend giving theirs a go! The one thing I dislike the most about them is some of their scents. They remind me of scents that your gran would have on her vanity. They’re lovely, don’t get me wrong but they aren’t ALWAYS for me. 🙂

  • The Body Shop Drops of Youthâ„¢ Youth Liquid Peel.

This is a product I LOVE so damn much and keep meaning to reveal since I bought it before Christmas. I’ll definitely get around to it sooner rather than later. This is a liquid you apply to the face and rub constantly all over your face to remove deal skin. It comes off in balls and chunks, which is gross to admit is your dead skin! 😛 I love using this liquid peel before my tea tree skin wash on my face, as well as before face masks. I use it once maybe twice a week if I feel the need to and it really does help my skin out! 😀

  • Rio Sonicleanse Glo Silicone Facial Cleansing Tool.

My final favourite beauty product of this month definitely has to be this facial cleansing brush that my mom bought me for Christmas (which you can see here alongside all the other goodies I was gifted in 2018! I use this facial cleansing brush everyday and I can tell it’s made a massive improvement to my skin. It makes me feel like I’m getting deep into my pores and giving my skin a good clean, alongside getting rid of old and dead skin cells to reveal fresh skin. I’ve been using this for well over a month now too and haven’t needed to recharge the batteries which is amazing! I probably will over this weekend. Again, if you would like me to review this facial cleansing brush please let me know!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Inside No. 9.

This is a show I was told about back in the day when the first series came out. I watched some of the second episode and liked what I saw, but never watched anymore of it. During my Christmas holiday time from work I watched ALL of The League of Gentlemen and fell in love. I always found it to be a “creepy” show but after watching it, it’s right up my street. When I wanted to watch more from Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton I stumbled across Inside No. 9 on BBC iPlayer and decided to give it a go. It has fast turned into one of my favourite TV series and I love it! It’s a dark comedy/horror series with episodes about what’s happening to people behind a door, house, room etc with the number 9 on it. It reminds me of Black Mirror but different. It’s not all technology based like Black Mirror is and I like that. Definitely give it a watch if you like this sort of thing though, you won’t be disappointed!

Favourite Film – Mary and the Witch’s Flower.

This is probably the only new film I’ve watched this month and in all honesty it’s the only film that I can think that I’ve watched at all this month! I picked it up on my birthday to watch as it was in the sale for £9.99 for the Blu-ray so I used some of my birthday money to treat myself (you can see what else I got for my birthday here). It’s about Mary, a girl who seems to have moved to live with her aunt and is due to start a new school soon. She doesn’t really seem to have any friends yet, is clumsy and doesn’t like her bushy red hair. One day she discovers a special flower and from there her life changes rather quickly! This is by Studio Ponoc, who are pretty much a sister company to Studio Ghibli. This is their first feature film and it did really well! I love it so much and really enjoyed watching it with Dane on one of our weekends off together.

I Am a Hero.jpg

Favourite Book – I Am a Hero.

This is a manga Dane randomly discovered quite a while ago and every birthday, Christmas and anniversary I’ll buy him as many copies of the manga as I can! Not only doe she read this manga, but so do I. I read a couple of he volumes throughout last month and it’s just getting better and better! I’m up to volume 6 at the moment and the story line is getting really juicy now! It’s about a zombie apocalypse in Japan and we follow Hideo Suzuki as he tries to make his way through it, meeting people as he goes. The art style is amazing as it’s so realistic and gives the zombies something a little different. I definitely recommend you giving it a go if you like zombie related films, shows, books, etc.

Favourite Song – “Promises” Calvin Harris Feat. Sam Smith.

Oh man I love this song so much, so much so whenever I hear it on the radio at work it just cheers me up so damn much! I only recently popped it onto my YouTube to listen to whilst I get ready in the mornings, do blog work, as well as any other tasks throughout each day. Sam Smith has a lovely singing voice and Calvin Harris is an artist I’ve loved since back in the day when he made that song and sang about the 80’s and what was acceptable. 😛 Yes Mr Harris I still dig the stuff you made back in the day! 😛

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

I was going to talk about Style Boutique 3 this month and although I’ve played it loads, I feel like I’ve played Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp almost daily to be honest since I got my iPhone XR but over the Christmas period and the odd days off I played this game loooooads. I find I play it most before bedtime as I find it relaxes me. I mentioned it a post last month about games I find help anxiety (which you can read here). They’ve just added some new updates too, one which makes playing the game so much easier than it used to be! I also love playing this in the car at the moment as it deices, you know with how crap and cold the weather has been lately. 😛

So those are all of my favourites from January!

What do you have on your favourites list from last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below and even let me know what your favourite fashion pieces too. I know mine has for sure been my Lazy Oaf rainbow “boring” cardigan. 😛

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re ready for a relaxed weekend.

July Favourites ’18

Why hello August! I know, month after month I moan about how fast the year is going but as much as I hate how fast it is whizzing by BUT I’m not going to do that this month… I’m actually excited for September.

Both me and Dane had some lovely news in July, which I’m not going to mention here and NO before you guess we aren’t expecting or having a baby. 😛 Honestly, you will not see a post in 3 months of me holding a scan… Not unless it’s of a puppy fetus. 😛

URGH I really did ramble. I didn’t mean to. 😛

This months favourites were pretty easy to write up, but at the same time they did feel like a bit of a challenge. I hope you enjoy them either way, I always love writing my monthly favourites, so I hope you always enjoy reading them.

  • The Body Shop Body Yogurt in Banana.

I recently posted a wish list Wednesday about The Body Shop and the majority of that wish list had the new limited edition banana range on it. Literally 3 days later I was in a store buying all of the goodies I had posted on that wish list. Since I picked up the body yogurt I have been using it daily and oh my, it has changed up my daily routine! My skin has been looking and feeling dry lately and I HATE moisturising. Not only do I find it a chore, but thick creams can leave me feeling clammy and warm so I avoid it like the plague. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the yogurts and it was Estelle’s The Body Shop haul post (which you can read here) where she spoke about the strawberry one that got me into giving it a go. Thanks Estelle! 😛 This has just been a game changer for my skin. It really is lightweight and only takes 5 minutes max to apply all over and thankfully doesn’t take long to dry so you can be dressed quickly. I plan to have a review of this up on my blog ASAP, possibly this time next week so keep your eyes peeled for that!

  • Fairy Glo Gel Polishes.

Since I picked these up a couple of months ago I’ve been meaning to review them as they are AMAZING gel polishes for sod all money. Since getting my Le Mini Macaron gel nail kit I’ve been kind of obsessed with gel nail polish and have certainly gotten into it more. I picked up a massive 14 piece gel polish set, with 12 glitter/holographic shades as well as a base and top coat. All for £15.99 on Amazon with Prime too! I’ve worn the polishes a handful of times now and I do adore them. I feel so pretty when I have the shades on and I especially love the silver holographic shade, as well as the lilac and blue shades. My mom also recently gave me her UV lamp as it was taking me 2 hours to do my nails with the little one nail LED lamp that you get in the Le Mini Macaron kit. I’d love to start doing peoples nails, but that just isn’t going to happen. 😛

  • Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter.

I really miss wearing lipstick(s) and yet I don’t know why I stopped wearing them. I think it’s due to the fact that I now have on and off eczema in the corners of my lips, which sucks to be honest with you. Using a stick lip balm is now a thing of the past for me and I have to constantly now use lip balm in tins, e.g. Vaseline. I recently picked up a couple of tinted lip balms from The Body Shop but I decided to dig out this old favourite and start using it at work. No, it isn’t lipstick but it’s a gorgeous tinted lip butter which leaves my lips feeling moisturised and with a gorgeous dark pink colour. I would love to try more of the Korres lip butters, but this one has lasted me so long, I don’t know if I need to. 😛

  • The Body Shop Body Butter in Banana.

Yes, another one of the banana products from The Body Shop and this one I have fallen head over heels in love with, for many reasons. There is one product I dislike from The Body Shop and that’s their body butters. They’re really thick, and don’t last very long for how much you spend on them! I’ve tried at least 3 different ones over the years and each one has left me feeling sticky and hot both in the colder and hotter months. However, the banana one smelt amazing so I KNEW I had to pick it up. But I decided to pick up the little tub so that I could test what I thought of the body butter as a hand butter instead. Well, so far I am LOVING IT! It makes such an amazing and deeply nourishing hand butter and I do love it. Whenever I use it at work I get nothing but compliments on the scent, which in turn makes me happy. I’ll definitely invest in the bigger tub soon and just keep the little tub to decant the product into. I’ll also definitely give other scents a try in future, including strawberry.

  • Clean & Clear Blackhead Clearing Cleanser.

This is another product I’ve mentioned recently on my blog (you can read that post here) and since I picked it up at the start of July I have loved using it on my skin! I was after a new toner and for years my mom has been using this one and always praised it up. My skin has been in atrocious condition for the longest time now, which was down to certain products I was using, including the old cleanser I was using. This one has helped clear my skin so much and for under £3.00 I am so CHUFFED to have finally discovered it.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

This is such a random one TV show to start watching, but recently BBC put it onto iPlayer so I’ve just been binge watching it pretty much. I used to LOVE Two Pints growing up and as a student, I just felt like I could relate to it, even with the humour and such. It also just reminds me of when I was younger too with the themes and the fact it’s set back when I was younger. I’m currently on season 5 and close to finishing it. If like me you loved Two Pints growing up, then honestly give yourself a blast to the past and watch the whole box set on iPlayer whilst it’s on there.

Favourite Film – Inglorious Basterds.

This was such a random film for me to watch but I saw it on Netflix in July and just thought I’d pop it on to watch one morning whilst I got ready for work. One morning turned into a week pretty much! I do love this film so much and it’s definitely one of my favourites by Quentin Tarantino for many reasons. I remember going to see it with my dad when it came out and he loved it so much. When looking for gifs for this post I giggled at so many awesome ones! 😛

Polar Bear Love GIF

Favourite Book – A Polar Bear In Love Vol 3.

Yay finally Vol.3 came out in July and I was so excited to read it after how they left off in Vol.2! I honestly love A Polar Bear In Love, as it is such an adorable manga and one that I will enjoy reading until it finishes. I FINALLY found a gif to use on my blog for posts like this one! They also have short anime clips out of parts from the manga, which is equally adorable, if not cuter. 😛 If you love cute manga, I cannot recommend this enough!

Favourite Song/Album – Daft Punk Random Access Memories.

Recently at work we were talking about music and one of the questions that went around the office was, “What band would you like to see before you die?” and my answer was Daft Punk. I have LOVED this band for as long as I can remember and they are a massive part of my life. They’re the reason for my love of a lot of music and are for sure a band I would love to see perform. This is the last album they released (I pray they’ll bring out another soon!) back in 2013 and it came out not long before I met Dane. This album reminds me of that year and how rough it was. I listened to it when things were hard because it always made me feel better. I even wrote a MASSIVE review on it back in the day, which I’ll link here. I’ve been listening to this album quite a lot since then and ARGH I just forgot how much I love it and how I need more Daft Punk albums on my iPod for my car. I’ve added a couple of my favourite songs from the album above.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Go

Yes, I am still playing Pokemon Go and I am LOVING every minute of it. Me and Dane are still playing it loads and even going out late at night to play it. Since me and Dane bought our Pokemon Go Pluses we play it every day. I know it’s seen as a lazy way to play the game, but if you’re going for a walk, or a day out shopping you don’t have to get your phone out to get all the Poke Stops you walk past, which is so handy. The only issue I have is that the game drains my battery, but that’s what I have my battery pack for. 😛 Recently on our way home from visiting Dane’s parents we made a u turn to a local shopping area so that we could catch a Dragonite! It was for sure worth it and we both have a Pokemon we’ve wanted for AGES. I just love the game so much and I wish I’d never stopped playing it years ago. I remember the game coming out in July 2016 and that’s when me and Dane were doing up our house so it does take me back to that time too. 🙂

So those were my favourites from July! I feel like they weren’t anything special but to be honest with you I feel like July went by in a ball of madness! It’s been a pretty decent month to be honest in every single way. As I said at the start of the post me and Dane both had some great news, we’ve had some amazing sunny weather and some much needed rain. It’s overall been a pretty decent month and I’m excited for what August brings!

What were your favourites from July? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great week so far.

3 British Dramas to Watch If You Loved Three Girls

For a few days on social media I was hearing quite a lot about Three Girls, a new drama which aired on BBC One recently. When I heard what it was about it sounded like the sort of drama that I love to watch, for various reasons.

I knew the moment I started watching it that I would love it! It’s based on true events of what happened with the Rochdale child sex abuse ring.

Taken from IMDB:

Powerful drama based on the experiences of three of the vulnerable young girls who were groomed, sexually abused and trafficked by British Pakistani men in Rochdale and of the failure of the authorities to do anything about it.

If you haven’t watched it yet then I’ll let you know a little bit about it. There are three episodes all an hour long and contain an amazing cast from Maxine Peake (Shameless and Dinner Ladies), Jill Halfpenny (Eastenders and Humans), Molly Windsor (The Unloved) and Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones and It’s All Gone Pete Tong) who is one of my favourite British actors.

You can still find it on BBC iPlayer to watch… I’m currently watching it for the third time, I love it THAT much! 😛

Here is the trailer for the show so you can check it out for yourselves.

Sooooo with so much hype about this show I thought I would share three British TV dramas you should watch immediately! If you haven’t already of course… 😛

1. The Unloved (2009) – Directed by Samantha Morton. (Synopsis taken from IMDB)

Lucy is eleven years old. Having been neglected by her estranged mother and father, she is placed in a children’s home. Through her eyes, we follow Lucy’s struggle to cope with the system. Her saving is her self-belief and her certainty that she is being watched over and protected by the holy spirit. Hers is a heroic quest for love, beauty and transcendence.

This is one of my favourite TV dramas and I remember my excitement back in 2009 when it was being advertised constantly on Channel 4! It’s about Lucy who is taken into care due to her father not being able to look after. As the synopsis states it’s about a child’s eye view about the UK care system. It’s a very powerful drama and is both directed and written by Samantha Morton, an Oscar nominee and who has also starred in films such as Sweet and Lowdown and Minority Report.

Samantha Morton has stated in interviews how she wrote The Unloved based off true events from when she was in care herself. Some of the themes throughout the drama are physical, sexual and mental abuse, neglect, alcohol and drug abuse as well as more around these sort of themes.

The one thing I noticed first of all when watching Three Girls is that Molly Windsor who plays Molly also played Lucy in The Unloved. This made me happy due to what a wonderful young actress she was in The Unloved.

As well as Molly Windsor the drama also stars Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting) as Lucy’s father, Lauren Socha (Misfits) as Lauren, someone else in care who Lucy shares a room with and also befriends, Michael Socha (This is England) as one of the workers in the home who is concerned about the abuse that is happening and Craig Parkinson (Four Lions) as one of the workers in the care home who is also abusing Lauren.

Although the drama isn’t about the same topic it shares similar topics such as sexual abuse, and how the system has let people down and continues to do so.

The show of course was on Channel 4 nearly 10 years ago (FUCK THIS MAKES ME FEEL OLD!!!) and sadly isn’t available to watch on All 4 anymore, BUT you can pick it up on DVD fairly cheaply which is what I did as I needed my The Unloved fix. I’m sure you can find it online to watch somewhere too.

2. Pleasureland (2003) – Directed by Brian Percival. (Synopsis taken from IMDB)

The story of Joanna, a 14-year-old girl who feels pressured by her peers to lose her virginity. The story, told primarily from her point of view, follows her as she self-destructs, becoming involved in a world of sex, drugs and betrayal. Including graphic and sometimes violent underage sex scenes, the film portrays an occasionally exaggerated but nonetheless disturbing and thought-provoking view of teenage sexuality.

This is the first of all of these dramas that I watched and I think one of many that sparked me into loving these types of hard hitting TV films. It’s another one from Channel 4 and definitely one that should be shown in schools today due to what it’s about.

It’s about 14 year old Liverpudlian Joanna. Life seems okay for her, she works hard at school, has a friend who isn’t arsed about the pressure of other teenagers, her home life isn’t so bad… But something is missing… She ends up mixing with the “cool” girls in her class and they constantly talk about sex and their relationships. After attending a party she starts her trip into discovering her sexuality and befriends the girls. Her life changes dramatically as if overnight and sadly it isn’t all that it seems. Bullying, drugs, alcohol, lies and even sexual abuse, this is definitely a hard hitting coming of age drama which focuses heavily on sex. It is literally the whole, “everyone is having sex apart from me.”

I was 13 when this drama came out and to be honest when I was 14 like Joanna I probably started to wonder why I wasn’t having sex and didn’t have a boyfriend. It seems like a big thing growing up as a teenager and I don’t know if it’s harder for teenagers now but fuck sake it felt pressurising as hell back then! Now I would tell my teenage self not to give a shit. There’s all the time in the world for sex and boyfriends.

It originally aired on Channel 4 and is surprisingly still available on All 4 to watch. I’ve put it on so that can jog my memory with what happens. As I said before it’s definitely one that I feel should be shown in schools.

There are a couple of familiar faces such as Barry Sloane (Hollyoaks and US show Revenge) and Philip Olivier (Brookside).

Sadly I wasn’t able to find a trailer for this, but take my word on it that it’s good and just go and watch it on All 4!

3. No Child of Mine (1997) – Director by Peter Kosminsky (Synopsis taken from IMDB)

A British schoolgirl struggles to come to terms with the horrific and disgusting sexual abuse inflicted upon her by the adults in her life. When she resorts to self-harm to escape her troubles, a caring teacher tries to get her some help.

Like Three Girls this drama is based on true events and as far as I know aired on ITV… But don’t quote me as I can’t remember… I’m probably wrong.

The one thing about this drama out of all of them on this post (including Three Girls) this is the most hard hitting and very upsetting. I think it’s made worse because the girl who is being abused at home and throughout her time in care is the youngest out of all of the girls. I know Lucy in The Unloved is young and whilst she is physically abused by her father, Kerry in No Child of Mind is sexually abused and used by many, including both her parents.

The drama just shows the constant sexual abuse Kerry is put under by her parents, the people who should be protecting her from this, as well as carers throughout her time in care. It’s a depressing drama but one that really opens your eyes to how fucked up people are in this world and how over the years the care system has and still is letting our children, teenagers and young people down.

It doesn’t show that everyone is out to get her however as (from memory) her school teacher/counselor helps her along the way to make sure she is getting the best treatment. At times it’s out of his control what happens.

This is another drama that I think needs to be shown in school so that children in particular can learn that them having sexual affection from anyone isn’t right and that they can go to places like NSPCC and Childline and be “saved” and protected.

This is only available to watch on YouTube but the copy is pretty good considering the drama first aired 20 years ago.

It’s definitely worth a watch but be prepared to feel uncomfortable.

So those are the three shows I recommend you watch if you loved Three Girls!

I just want to put out a disclaimer that before you watch any of these dramas (I’m sure you’re smart enough to work it out) please be aware that they all contain scenes that some people my find upsetting and disturbing.

Are there any dramas, TV shows or films that you think I should watch that are similar plot lines to these I’ve mentioned?

Have you watched any/all of these? Please let me know what your thoughts were about them in the comments.

Until next time take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week.

TV Shows I’m Loving At The Moment

Now I wouldn’t exactly call myself a coach potato but I feel like this is pretty much an accurate term for me lately. As of late after both me and Dane finish work we either sit and play games online with friends or binge watch various TV shows. Mostly the later though…

There just seems to be so many TV shows out lately with new series that we need to watch! There’s so many that almost everyday we have a new episode to catch up with. This sounds worse than it actually is… 😛

So come and have a read about what TV shows me and Dane have been binge watching lately. You never know, you may just get some inspiration for what you can watch yourselves. 😉

  • RuPaul’s Drag Race – S9 (Netflix)

I’ve been a fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race for as long as I can remember and as soon as a new season comes out I always make sure to keep up with the episodes. Spoilers are one of the reasons why, but it’s mostly due to wanting to keep up with which queen(s) are doing the best. I’ve always watched the show with Dane, which is really nice to be honest! I didn’t think he would be interested in giving it a go due to what it’s all about, but he loves it! My favourite in this season so far is Nina Bonina Brown. This being said though I’m not a massive fan of season 9 so far… It just seems like the queens don’t give much of a shit, or give too much of a shit. No one is really standing out right now for me. I just hope someone does soon! I want another Jinxx Monsoon! She’s my favourite queen! For the first time in the UK this is available on Netflix as and when a new episode airs. I used to have to look online for videos to watch when it came to getting my RuPaul new show fix!

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid – S1 (Crunchyroll and Funimation)

Out of all of these TV shows being mentioned in this post this is definitely one of my favourites. I’ve mentioned this show on my blog before. It’s about a dragon who is pretty much adopted by by a human and who falls in love with said human. More dragons come to the human world, another one who comes to live with them and others who live with other humans. It’s a very funny show and heart warming at the same time. I’ve started to read the manga of it and it is amazing!

  • Attack On Titan – S2 (Crunchyroll)

Both me and Dane have been waiting what feels like forever for season 2 of Attack On Titan to come out! We both love the show and we’ve been worried that the next season would never come out. It’s been out for a couple of weeks now and it’s amazing. Dane pretty much knows the basics of what is going to happen due to reading the manga. I haven’t yet read the manga for Attack On Titan and I’m unsure when and if I will. If you loved the first season of Attack On Titan then make sure to watch this season!

  • 13 Reasons Why – S1 (Netflix exclusive)

On this list this has to be my favourite one on the list! As soon as me and Dane watched the trailer for this on Netflix we knew that we would want to watch it! It’s based off a novel of the same name and the show is said to be loads better! The show is about Hannah, a girl who has committed suicide and records 13 tapes explaining why she killed herself. It’s an emotional roller coaster and to be honest it made me feel really low at the end of it. It’s an amazing show though and one I recommend everyone to watch as soon as possible! I might pick the book up in the future to read if I fancy it. This is a Netflix exclusive so if you want to watch it you need to have a Netflix account… Or you can be naughty and find it online to watch.

  • K-ON! – S1 and S2 (DVD)

Like Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid this is another one of my favourite TV shows on this list. Dane recently became interested in watching K-ON! and popped it on for us both to watch one day. Since then we have been hooked and it’s definitely become a massive new love for us both. We haven’t finished watching season 2 yet, but I’ll be sad when we do however. I was going to buy Dane all of the seasons on DVD as well as the film on blu-ray but I left it in the end. I’m sure we’ll buy them on our week off together next week. I’ve bought all of the manga of K-ON! and I’m loving it so far!

  • Masamune-kun’s Revenge – S1 (Crunchyroll and Funimation)

This is a show I have loved and then been bored with… Which is strange! Dane has felt the same way about it as well. We usually stop watching things we get bored with, like anyone would be to honest. The only reason we have kept on with it is because we have watched so much of it already. It just doesn’t feel like it is going anywhere right now and we’re about 10 episodes in. I was going to buy the manga of it to read but I am so bloody glad I haven’t… This show just doesn’t feel like it’s going to have a decent outcome. This being said it is good… But I don’t recommend it. I would recommend all the other shows on this list more!

  • Peter Kay’s Car Share – S1 and S2 (BBC iPlayer)

This is one I haven’t really watched with Dane. He’s not particularly interested in stuff like this and although I’m not a MASSIVE fan I do love this show! It reminds me of the summer I was at university studying my MA and when Dane practically lived with me for 3 weeks whilst my family was away on holiday. It was lovely and pretty much a test drive for what it would be like if we lived together. So when season 2 came out recently I had to watch it as soon as possible! As the title suggests it’s about a car share. He drives and his colleague keeps him company in the car. You see their relationship grow from just colleagues to friends, to possibly something more. I was disappointed to learn after watching episode 4 that that was it… No more episodes for season 2. I mean what the fuck Peter Kay?! I say this due to how the last episode of season 2 ends. I can’t say anything without giving away any spoilers, but it’s a mixture of really shit and the perfect cliffhanger. Both season 1 and 2 are on BBC iPlayer at the moment so go and check them out if you’re interested.

  • Eromanga Sensei – S1 (Crunchyroll)

This is a new anime to be added to Crunchyroll recently and it’s one people either love or hate due to what it’s about. I’m watching it for a mixture of reasons. 1. The main female character is so fucking adorable and 2. I like the fact that she’s a manga cartoon artist and that her brother (the main male character) is a manga/light novel writer. These are both the sorts of job roles and creative talents I give my characters when I write. The part about the show that is riling people up is the fact that the two main characters are siblings (well adopted siblings…) and they’re meant to have a relationship together… Awkward… This aspect doesn’t appeal to me at all but the story line otherwise really does. It’s only 2 episodes in at the moment so I’ll see how it goes, but so far this relationship side hasn’t really shown. A few creepy bits have though… Otherwise it’s pretty funny at the moment and I’m enjoying it.

So those are some TV shows I’m loving right now! I feel like I have a show a day to catch up on, which is really sad but it gives me something to look forward to after work I suppose!

It’s not on this list but I’m currently watching Sirens, which aired on Channel 4 6 years ago! WOW I FEEL OLD!!! What TV shows are you loving and binge watching right now? Are you watching anything that’s on my list? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you had a lovely Easter and are equally having a lovely week.

Currently #4

I’ve kinda been updating you on my life recently due to so much happening what with Christmas, New Year, and my birthday, but I wanted to do a currently post so I could update you all properly on how things have been recently, aside from busy with all the holidays mentioned above!

I’ve been excited to do another currently list for ages! So here is currently number four.

Watching: I have been watching all sorts recently. Mostly a mixture of Mrs. Brown’s Boys, and Making a Murderer, but come on, who isn’t watching that? I do really like Making a Murderer but at the same time it frustrates me so much to watch, that I have to take breaks from it just to think about what the hell is going on! My boyfriend got me to watch the first episode on my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see what it was about. I hate jumping on the bandwagon to be honest, but I’m glad I did as it is a very interesting documentary. I need to finish it mind… Might do that today. I got Mrs. Brown’s Boys as a reward from my old job for doing so well in my customer service and such. That will be one perk of my old job that I’ll miss, the rewards you would get! I really like Mrs. Brown’s Boys, it’s hilarious and the Irish humour is spot on. The movie isn’t that great however… My dad also loves this so we’ll be watching it together soon I hope. There are a couple of clips I love from this show, and I couldn’t pick one so I’ve added two above for you to watch, and a crappy one because I can’t find said clip anywhere online!

Playing: As I am yet to write about, I bought a PlayStation 4 after Christmas and I am so happy that I did! With that I have been playing plenty of games on there. The one I’ve been playing the most (and actually 100% completed last night) is Life is Strange. I’ve played it before, but I bought it for my PS4 to get the trophies, as well as remind myself what happened in the story. I loved it, and I’m sure I’ll play it again at some point in the future. As well as that I’ve been playing Little Big Planet 3 with my boyfriend, which has been loads of fun! We played it loads on my birthday and it was nice, really nice. I can’t wait for him to get back from holiday so we can play it again soon. Until Dawn is another game I’ve played a little of, and I intend to play more after I’ve written this blog post as I really crave playing it right now! As well as tonight when I get home from pole dance fitness.

Listening: I’m pretty damn bored with my music at the moment. Like REALLY bored. I haven’t had something come up on the shuffle playlist that’s made me think, “Damn I haven’t listened to that artist for a while!” and put them on later, or the next day. I’ve been looking around YouTube for some new artists to check out, and Nightcore is one I have gladly discovered. They take songs and speed them up a little to make them sound sort of chipmunk like, sort of reminds me of Japanese music for some reason… Which is why I like it! I have been listening to a couple of the songs, and I intend to download some soon for my car. The second video I have linked I listened to for the first time today and it made me cry, as it made me think of how I feel about my boyfriend. So it’s officially my song for him. 🙂 Cheesy? Yes. Fucks given? Zero!

Eating: CRAP! Honestly I haven’t been eating that great at the moment. Not even in the sense of I’ve been eating rubbish like junk, but I’ve hardly been eating lately and it isn’t for bad reasons either. I just haven’t really had the energy to. I’ll eat little tid bits and that’s it. I cooked myself something though a few nights ago and it was lovely. I do want to start eating healthy again, like I was when I was dieting, but I don’t want to at the same time. I like having my treats. I have however been drinking lots of tea, and I don’t know why. I blame it being cold and not wanting to drink coffee all the time.

Wearing: I got some new PJs for Christmas (which you can see here) so I’ve been wearing them loads since receiving them! As well as that I have been notoriously wearing my 101 Dalmatians Vans (read about those here) as they are hella comfortable! I can’t wait to rock them more in the summer, as I think my shoes for winter will have to start being my Jake Dr Martens (can read about those here), as I’ve been neglecting them a little lately.

Wanting: SLEEP! Lots of bloody sleep at that! I am constantly tired at the moment, and I don’t know why. On my days off work I plan to have a lie in, and I never have one. On days where I start work late I usually end up having my lie in then. I like waking up early to get things done… But I do love my sleep. As well as that I am lusting after Black Milk Clothing leggings, the fox ones… Which I have mentioned time and time again. I am still after them… YES! I am going to see about ordering them with my birthday money when my boyfriend comes back from holiday, but I’m not sure yet. They are a lot of money. Sadly. As well as that I am lusting after the new MAC Cosmetics Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks, especially shade Oh Lady… WHICH IS SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE! Soon… Soon.

Other than all those things I’ve been pretty chilled at the moment. I’m trying to sort my blog over the next month so that it can be better this year than ever before! I have recently changed my profile picture on the right (as I’m sure you can see) and I intend to do some more changes soon.

What are your currents at the moment? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.
