October Favourites ’21

In the blink of an eye, October has flown by and I don’t know how I feel about that! xD October wasn’t the best month for me in regards to my mental health but the end of October, start of November has been really nice so far. Albeit with cute games coming out this week and some time off work with Dane… 😛

Of course I won’t go too much into my personal issues but instead I’m excited to share how exciting the first week of November has been for me! Not only did the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update and DLC (Happy Home Paradise) come out, BUT so did indie games Unpacking and To The Rescue! came out too, with the latter being a game I backed on Kickstarter. So, my week off mainly consisted of playing games with Dane, doing things around the house and catching up with people. It was great and very much needed. I’ll be talking about the games on a separate blog post at some point this month, so keep eyes peeled for that!

For now however, I want to share my monthly favourites with you guys! I hope you enjoy this months favourites.

Favourite Beauty Product – Badedas 3 in 1 Original Indulgent Bath Gel.

This is something my mom bought for me and Dane Christmas 2020. I’ve always loved the smell of Badedas as it was always something we had on the side of the bath when I lived at home. It smells really fresh, masculine and gorgeous, plus it always reminds me of my dad so it has a nice comforting/familiar feeling to it. I used some of this throughout the winter period at the start of 2021 and stopped when spring and summer hit. Now the weather is colder again, I’ve brought it out to use not only as a bath gel, but as a shower gel too! When I was poorly with flu later on in October, this helped clear my sinuses somewhat, as well as comfort me with the scent. I know it’s a bath gel both me and Dane used too with the flu (I passed it onto Dane…), so it’s definitely good it being in our cupboard! It’s a bloody huge bottle and it feels like it’s lasting forever! This isn’t something I’d buy for myself to be honest, but I did enjoy receiving it as a gift last year.

Favourite Film – Violet Evergarden: The Movie.

For any regular readers of my blog, you’ll know I LOVE Violet Evergarden and have done since it first came to Netflix in 2018. Violet is about a young girl/woman who has fought in the war as a child and comes out to be “adopted” by a post office owner. She begins training to become a ghost-writer and the feelings and emotions she lost during the end of the war slowly start to come back through helping people by writing their letters. Violet is also pained by the meaning of some words spoken to her during the war. I don’t want to say too much for fear of spoilers, but the movie basically ends a lot of questions that long time viewers will have been asking/wondering. It definitely answered these for me and Dane and my emotions were all over the place! We’re still asking questions after the movie, but we hope this won’t be the end of Violet Evergarden’s story and only the beginning of a new one!

Favourite TV Show – Squid Game.

Okay, now I know you’re either thinking… “YAY someone else who loves Squid Game!” or, “Urgh, someone else who loves Squid Game?” and of course I loved it. I heard all the hype around it on Instagram and Twitter and wanted to watch it before spoilers started to show, which I thankfully missed. Damn, Squid Game is a journey and it was one me and Dane completed over two evenings of watching nonstop. I don’t want to share spoilers, even if the majority of people HAVE seen it. It’s basically a Battle Royale style show about people competing in life or death situations to win a lot of money. It’s really good to be honest and much better watched in subbed (subtitles), not dubbed (voice over in your language), which I know a lot of people have watched it in.

Favourite Game – Dorfromantik.

This is a game that Dane introduced me to fairly recently and since then when I need a moment to relax and not think about stuff for a while, I pop this on. Dorfromantik is a game where you need to build a town/village with puzzle style pieces. Pieces will differ, whether they be pieces of river, railway track, farm, trees and homes. You need to pop pieces in certain places to make up targets, such as fifty trees altogether, or ten homes, etc. It’s such a relaxing game and I really do love to play it!

Just a few of my favourite things…

Black Milk Clothing Ghouls Night In photoshoot with Dane.

I want to say a massive thank you to Dane for doing the mini photoshoot on Halloween for my last blog post, which was all about Black Milk Clothing and their Ghouls Night In collection for Halloween. I was sick the week of Halloween with flu, as was Dane so we both felt a little sorry for ourselves. My original plans for the photoshoot I wanted to do was to venture out into the area(s) nearby and take photos in autumnal weather… Because why not! Alas, due to how we were feeling, those plans didn’t go ahead. Instead Dane suggested we grab some Halloween themed props and take photos in our office. We were able to change our smart bulb to various different colours to make the photos look better and personally, I feel like they came out amazing! I’ve received so many lovely compliments and comments in regards to the photos, which has made me so happy! I can’t wait to do more fun photoshoots in the future! You can read all about the Halloween collection here.

Rae Dunn boo ghost candle.

I fell in love with some of the Halloween merchandise offerings that TK Maxx brought out this year, including the massive DW Home ghost candle I bought in September (you can see it in my September favourites here). I’ve been on the hunt for the Rae Dunn boo ghost candle for the same amount of time and in October I found one at a decent price on eBay, so I ended up snagging one. I started burning it on Halloween and it has a lovely toasted marshmallow scent to it, but it isn’t very strong… Which is a shame. I mostly wanted it for the jar though, which I’m probably going to use for fake flowers. 😛

Halloween nails!

Guys you know me by now (well, I hope anyway!), I bloody love Halloween! Last yeah my Halloween nails were ON POINT and gave Beetlejuice vibes. This year I decided to go for orange and black and white stripes instead after getting some major inspiration from Pinterest. I wasn’t going to bother getting the stripes as I hadn’t booked in the extra time with my nail technician and instead I was going to get white with black glitter. However, my nail tech being the amazing person she is did it anyway and at no extra charge! She is such a star and I honestly always look forward to my nail appointments. I’m currently rocking glittery purple and green nails… Halloween isn’t done for me yet. 😛

BarleyBlossom Glow In The Dark Animal Crossing Halloween Timmy & Tommy T-Shirt.

Finally, I wanted to show you guys the Halloween Animal Crossing t-shirt I bought by BarleyBlossom. I wore this t-shirt on Halloween, as well as earlier in the week and it’s SO BLOODY COMFY! As you can see, Timmy and Tommy are dressed up as ghosts for Halloween. The white fabric glows in the dark, so when in a dark room the Nook brothers look spooky as fuck! I was planning to write a blog post all about my purchase, but when I was due to, BarelyBlossom was taking the Halloween goods down from the store, so unfortunately I didn’t see the point in sharing the item at the time if no one could buy. 😦 This being said, at the time of writing this (4th November) BarelyBlossom has listed two Molly pieces (t-shirt and sweater) where she is dressed up as a bat, so make sure to go and check it out!

So, there we have it guys! All my favourites from October! Honestly it really did go by quickly and I partially hope November doesn’t go as quickly. I’m not ready for Christmas yet… xD

How was October for you guys? What were your favourites from the month? PLUS are you all playing Animal Crossing now? 😛 Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time guys, take care and see you soon!

Black Milk Clothing Ghouls Night In

Tim Burton Halloween GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!

I haven’t written about Black Milk Clothing for a while now (since April!) so, this post is definitely long overdue. The Ghouls Night In collection came out mid September and I couldn’t pass up the chance of adding some spooky pieces in my wardrobe, especially as I recently had a sort out and made room in my wardrobe for some new pieces!

I was really good (in my opinion…) and only picked up three pieces initially… But Black Milk Clothing did do some restocks on some of the sold out pieces from the Ghouls Night In collection, including one piece I was really after, so I couldn’t not snap them up. So, I picked up four pieces altogether.

First thing I want to say here before I show off all the goodies I ordered is how quickly they arrived! Since directly starting to place my orders through Black Milk Clothing last year, my orders have usually taken around a month to arrive to me via Australia Post/Royal Mail. However, the two orders I placed from the Ghouls Night In collection arrived in a week! I don’t know if this is due to Black Milk Clothing wanting to ensure orders arrived in time for Halloween (as a lot of stuff they only shipped out after 5th October), or if delivery times from Australia have improved since COVID began last year.

Either way I’ve been so excited to share with you all what I ordered! Black Milk Clothing has somewhat helped me with my body image the past year and has also given my wardrobe a much needed kick up the arse, that it definitely deserved.

Eventually I hope to do a massive Black Milk Clothing collection post where I can show off all of the pieces I own, as well as share some of the grails I hope to find and buy in the future. Would you guys love to see a collection post in the future? Make sure to let me know what you think.

Now, onto the pieces I ordered from the Ghouls Night In collection!

Thought I’d throw a funny photo in from the shoot we did… 😛

  • Venomous Bishop Skater Dress (link)

This has fast turned into one of my favourite Black Milk Clothing pieces to wear! It’s the perfect all around dress, whether it be for work, days out, or even evenings out. I’m yet to really talk about the new bishop style, which has also fast turned into one of my favourite style of dresses from Black Milk Clothing to buy!

The bishop style in skater, (which is my go to in dresses) has gathered sleeves and even has pockets! I didn’t quite realise until writing this post that the reason behind the name of the style comes from the style of the gathered sleeves. The style first came out through The Blissful Life collection in the Tartan Magpie dress, which I snapped up too.

The print on this dress is a snake and from what I can tell the snakes head is only on the chest, with the rest of its body wrapped around the rest of the dress, which I love! I didn’t realise from the photos alone on the website that this is how the design was. The dress itself is incredibly comfortable as it’s made from Black Milk Clothing’s lightweight fleece-lined toastie fabric, which is perfect for the colder months!

I wore this piece to the office a couple of weeks ago and received nothing but compliments on it. It’s such a gorgeous piece and one that isn’t too in your face either. When I wear this in my own time I’m planning to wear with my Dr Martens boots to give it an edgier look! This dress would be great to wear at a gig… Maybe My Chemical Romance next year when they come to the UK? 😀

This piece is now sold out, as it was part of the 7 day unlimited and then limited after. They did also bring out a pair of velvet high waisted leggings with the same print, but these have now sold out too. At the time of writing this (22/10/2021), there will be the same print but blue brought out in the new collection, The Fast Life, so if you missed out before, maybe it’s your chance to snag that design again! There will be a dress, leggings and a sports bra!

This photo was so much fun to take! It took us a while to get the angle and the lighting right, but it was definitely worth it in the end!

  • Good Spirits Bishop Skater Dress (link)

This is a dress I fell in love with when Black Milk Clothing announced/showed it during the promotional stages before release. However, I kept umming and ahhing as to whether or not I should actually buy it, mostly due to already owning the Ghosties Longline Evil Tee Dress from the previous Halloween collection. This being said, I didn’t jump straight in with ordering from this collection, as the two pieces I picked up (bishop dresses) were 7 day unlimited, which meant I had the choice as to whether or not I actually wanted to pick the items up before they went to limited. In the end I went for it! The print is absolutely adorable, it’s in the bishop style that I love and it means I can get my spook on throughout the year and not wear out my one dress all the time!

The design on this dress is pretty simple to be honest. It’s a black dress with kawaii ghosts all over, pulling all sorts of faces from happy, shocked, angry, and the usual “boo” face you tend to get from ghosts. It’s a cute and playful design and one I’ve made sure to wear before I break up for work for my week off next week and I’m especially going to be wearing it next week during my week off work!

The same comments on the style applies here, as it did to the Venomous dress, the bishop style is gorgeous and I’ve been praising it to Sharkies (name for Black Milk Clothing community) constantly!

They did also bring out a hoodie jumper with the same print on it, which was something I contemplated getting instead of the dress. I didn’t bother however due to price, it was a limited piece AND the hoodie didn’t have pockets! Who buys a hoodie without pockets?!

  • Bats Purple Suspender Hosiery (link)

This is a definite item I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted or not. I wanted the black variant of these hosiery but they sold out really quickly, I’ll talk about them a little more towards the end of this post…

I decided to get them as I do love me some suspender hosiery and having a funky purple pair with bats on was something I couldn’t really resist! These are limited too and now sold out, so they won’t be coming back anytime soon. The hosiery from Black Milk Clothing are really thick and OSFA (one size fits all), I’m an L in Black Milk Clothing (I do own M in some older pieces too) and these are very generous in size, so although I don’t know for sure how big these could go up to, I would say a size XXL might be okay!

This is my second pair of Black Milk Clothing hosiery and I love them! I’m already planning to wear them with my Disturbia strange oversized skater dress as the colours and design of the dress shout Beetlejuice to me! I’ve also seen a black dress from Black Milk Clothing I’d love to pick up in the future as I saw someone on Instagram pair this dress with the purple bats hosiery and they look amazing.

Legit my favourite photo from the photoshoot!

  • Ghost With The Most Cuffed Pants (link)

This is the item I ended up ordering from the restocks and I think out of the whole collection it’s the one I’ve been looking forward to the most. These are also my first pair of cuffed pants so I was incredibly anxious when ordering them due to sizing. Would the size L be too small? Maybe even too big? I was advised by a few people that the pants are generous in size, with some even saying the L would be too big. Alas I still went for the L for my own sanity and they arrived earlier last week. They’re definite a little on the baggy side and going down to an M wouldn’t have hurt, BUT this being said I love that they’re baggy as it means they’ll be lovely and comfy for meals out and more.

As you’ve probably gathered by the look and name of these pants, they’re heavily inspired by Beetlejuice, which I LOVE. I realised last year that Beetlejuice is my favourite Halloween movie. I loved the cartoon of the film as a kid and I think I was in my late twenties when I finally watched the film. Don’t ask me why it took me so long to watch it, because even I don’t know! I’m not the biggest Tim Burton fan, so maybe that’s why?

As you can see the pants are the black and white vertical stripes we all know and love Beetlejuice for, with the cuffed up parts of the pant having a green striped design with black bugs all over. It definitely makes the pants pop when they’re cuffed over. The only thing I don’t like about these is how high up they feel when the cuffs are over, but that may also be due to how high up I’m wearing the pants when I tried them on. These of course also have pockets, which is always amazing!

Either way I’m so glad that Black Milk Clothing decided to bring this piece back as I honestly love it! I’m planning to wear them on Halloween with my new Halloween Animal Crossing Timmy and Tommy t-shirt by BarelyBlossom.

Now I’ve spoken about all the pieces I bought from the Ghouls Night In collection, I want to take a moment to share some of the pieces I’m still hoping to pick up in the future, some limited and some permanent items.

Ghost With The Most Blazer

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

  • Ghost With The Most Blazer (link)

I honestly wish Black Milk Clothing would have restocked this blazer alongside with the cuffed pants as I could have seen me buying both in all honesty. The set would have looked so cool to rock for meals out with friends, cocktail evenings and more. This was limited so it’s not out of stock on the website. Fingers crossed for it coming out again in the future, OR someone selling online. I wouldn’t know which size to buy however!

Bats Black Suspender Hosiery

  • Bats Black Suspender Hosiery (link)

I mentioned previously against the purple bats hosiery I picked up that the black ones were the ones I wanted mostly. This being said, I do love the purple ones and still plan to pick up the black bats pair in the future. These will look really cool with my Halloween pieces I picked up, as well as colourful dresses!

Velvet Black Mini Strappy Dress

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

  • Velvet Black Mini Strappy Dress (link)

Finally we have this piece that I don’t regret not buying, as I’ve only really thought about it this week whilst I was drafting up this post! Someone on Instagram who works with Black Milk Clothing (mayumouse) posted a picture of her wearing this dress with the purple bats hosiery and I LOVE that look so much! It just looks so good with how she’s styled the outfit with a chunky belt too and I’m living for it! I would definitely love to re-create this outfit myself in the future so… We’ll see what happens! This dress is a permanent item so, it’s definitely doable.

So, there we have it guys! My haul from the Ghouls Night In collection. I really loved this collection and as I regretted not picking up more items from last years collection (Welcome to Halloweenia) I didn’t want to face that same regret this year.

I’m so bloody excited to wear my Halloween pieces around the spookiest time of year, as well as all year around. What do you guys think of the pieces I picked up? As well as the collection in general? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time guys – HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

October Wish List ‘21

I cannot believe we’re now over a week into October. It’s already flown and before we know it, it’ll be Halloween and Bonfire night, two of my favourite times of the year. 🙂

In October I’ve so far been on a spending ban, only buying things I need, as well as a Christmas present… Yes I said the C word in October! 😛

Image taken from Mental Health Foundation

I want to mention today how it’s World Mental Health Day and a reminder for anyone suffering with their mental health to reach out if you need help, not matter what!

I know I’ve been really struggling with my metal health the past month or so, it’s the reason why I’ve stopped streaming on Twitch, as well as other things. I know I have a lot of lovely people around me to talk to and I’m just trying to plod on each day and do the best I can. But, there are a lot of resources you can reach out to if you’re suffering:

Samaritans – 116 123 / samaritans.org

NHS Non-Emergency – 111 / 111.nhs.uk

Papyrus – 0800 068 41 41 / papyrus-uk.org

Mind – 0300 123 3393 or text 86463 / mind.org.uk

The Mix – www.themix.org.uk/get-support

Anyhoo, it’s time for me to show you guys what items I have on my wish list for this month. A couple of items I’ve got ordered and some I’d love to get when I’m paid at the end of the month… This being said, Christmas is on the way (here comes the C word again :P) so I might just see if Dane might buy me one or two things for me for Christmas. 😉

  • DarkDevil’s Designs Tempworker Patch – (link)

As many people must know by now, I LOVE Bee & PuppyCat, so much. I know DarkDevil’s Designs does bring out some Bee & PuppyCat fan merchandise and recently they’ve brought out this adorable Tempworker patch! I’d love to get it in the future soon and pop it with my PuppyCat amigurumi pieces, or even on a future Bee & PuppyCat enamel pin hoop I’m planning on making.

  • Lumichee Metal Mousemoth Hoodie – (link)

This is a hoodie I’ve wanted for about a month now and whilst I’ve really wanted to order… The price of the shipping is really high, which I know is no fault of the seller. This item is on my Christmas wish list as I would like it, but don’t know if I can justify getting it myself. It’s an alternative style looking hoodie with the faded black/grey look, as well as Lumichee’s original character Mousemoth, in metal rocker form!

  • Killstar Ghost Hinged Jar – (link)

Halloween is just around the corner and with that comes a lot of spooky and gothic homeware and more! Killstar is a gothic clothing and homeware brand anyway, so with Halloween comes the excuse for them to bring out more cute spooky goodies, including this ghost jar! I saw one like this recently from TK Maxx, but I left it as I wasn’t 100% keen, however I really do love the look of this one from Killstar! This is on my Christmas wish list, so it would be cool to own eventually! I think I’d use it for my cotton pads. 🙂

  • Black Milk Clothing Ghost With The Most Cuffed Pants – (link)

My favourite Halloween movie is Beetlejuice. I used to love the cartoon show as a kid, even though I’d never watched the film (from memory…). Years later when I was in my late teens, early twenties I decided to finally watch the movie and I fell in love with it! Beetlejuice is definitely the ghost with the most! I always watch it around Halloween and I even wanted to book an outdoor cinema “experience” so me and Dane could go and watch it, but nowhere is showing it, which is a shame. 😦 That aside, when I saw the Beetlejuice cuffed pants go for sale on Black Milk’s website, I HAD to order! I’ll be wearing these both for work as well as personal. They won’t arrive in time for Halloween, but that won’t stop me wearing them all year around. 😛

  • BarelyBlossom Glow In The Dark Animal Crossing Timmy & Tommy Halloween Edition Embroidered T-Shirt – (link)

This is an item I’ve actually ordered and I’m waiting for it to arrive. As I’ve said before, I love Halloween and as many readers of my blog should know by now, I love Animal Crossing too! So, to see this adorable design of Timmy and Tommy dressed up as ghosts, I was already sold, so when I saw that the white thread used for the ghost design glows in the dark, I was ecstatic. I ordered it as soon as I could on a black t-shirt. I’m definitely going to wear this on Halloween whilst me and Dane chill together. If my Beetlejuice cuffed pants arrive in time, I’ll pair these together. I’m planning to write about this t-shirt on my blog this week coming or next so I can show off this and the rest of the Halloween goodies from BarelyBlossom.

  • Stami Studios Greedy Ghost Pins – (link)

Another Halloween item on this list and it’s the last one too. Stami Studios enamel pins are bloody adorable and whilst I don’t have many by them, I have enough to know the quality is amazing. Stami Studios has brought out a few Halloween designs both enamel pins and clothing, including these greedy ghost pins! I want all three to be honest, I can’t pick one design. As you can see these three ghosts are all eating or drink snack foods, including drinking fizzy pop, eating an ice cream, and eating Pocky. I’m hoping to treat myself to all three designs in the future. 😀

So there we have it guys, that’s my wish list for October! I know it’s been a bit of a mish mash of clothing and accessories, with one homeware item. Of course, due to Halloween the majority of items are themed around that!

What items do you guys have on your wish lists this month? Also, what are your plans for Halloween? Any spooky movies you recommend me and Dane to watch over Halloween? Please let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and see you soon! 😀
