February Favourites ’22

I know February is a short month anyway, but 2022 is flying past and I don’t know how I feel about that. I’m glad, because I want spring to come for light nights and slightly warmer days/better weather, but at the same time, I don’t want time to go too quickly as before we know it, we’ll be back at Christmas all over again!

I was recently speaking to someone about the idea of going to Japan again in 2023 and was met with, “Wait, you only went last year?” I went to Japan two years ago… Proof that as you get older, the years fly by quicker!

Alongside that, since turning 32 in January, February has been a month of me going, “Jeez I’m really getting old now, aren’t I?” and that’s kind of made me feel weird. It’s crazy how quick time flies after you turn a certain age (want to say 21). I do sometimes wish I’d spent more time enjoying my twenties, but that being said I don’t have any regrets.

ANYWAY today’s post isn’t about that stuff and is of course my monthly favourites! February was a strange one as whilst I definitely have things to share with you all, I don’t feel like I have a lot of general stuff to share?

As always, I hope you enjoy reading about things I loved throughout February.

Favourite Beauty Product – SBC Cotton Sensitive Body Wash.

I’ve been so excited to share this body wash with you all today as since receiving it around the start of February, it’s really improved my skin, which in turn makes me happy! My mom is the person who got me into SBC and their skin care, especially their body washes which seem to live in our bathroom for at least half of the year! This SBC body wash smells just like fresh washing and leaves my skin feeling baby soft, which is something I don’t achieve often! I’m shite for looking after my skin with body lotions and potions, not going to lie! A couple of pumps of this on my new silicone shower sponge and I’m guaranteed to be left a cotton scented lather and soft skin after I get out of the shower. This body wash is dermatologically tested which is great for me and my eczema, which recently flared up on my legs. This body wash did really help with it though, with no discomfort or stinging during use. I highly recommend this if you want something fancy in your shower, but have sensitive skin like me.

Favourite TV Show – The Legend of Vox Machina.

The Legend of Vox Machina is a new animated series on Amazon Prime that Dane has been looking forward to since March 2019 when the Kickstarter launched, which he backed. So, when the show finally launched in February, he was all over it for us to watch, which of course I was down for. Vox Machina is based off of the first Critical Role campaign/series, which if you didn’t know is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign written by Matt Mercer and played by a group of voice actors (Marisha Ray, Sam Reigel, Travis Willingham, Liam O’Brien, Laura Baily, Taliesin Jaffe and Ashley Johnson). It’s really popular and has recently gone into it’s third campaign/series! Dane is all caught up on the campaigns and loves Critical Role, I’m not an avid watcher of their campaigns but if Dane has it on, I will watch it on and off. Although the show is based off of D&D (and the Critical Role campaign) Vox Machina can be enjoyed by anyone, even if you’ve never watched the campaign it’s based off like me, or even if you aren’t a fan of D&D! It’s got some amazing adult comedy, bit of singing, lots of fighting and action and all around amazing show!

Favourite Music – Spiritbox – Eternal Blue.

Spiritbox are a band that Dane introduced me to a while ago now and for some reason I thought I’d mentioned them on my blog previously, which doesn’t seem to be the case! The song that caused me to really get into this band is the one I’ve added above called, “Secret Garden”, which is such a nice, mellow rock song to enjoy. I’ve especially been listening to their first album Eternal Blue when I’ve gone into the office to work, as well as when driving to and from places. Eternal Blue came out towards the end of 2021, so it’s a fairly new album, which I didn’t realise until I was writing this post. The band themselves are described as metal (progressive, alternative, etc) so if you like this genre of rock, make sure to check them out!

Favourite Game – Pokemon: Legends Arceus.

How could I not mention Legends Arceus this month? It came out at the end of January and every other weekend me and Dane have stayed in the house the whole time playing it. During the weekends where we’ve played it, we’ve snuggled up on the sofa under blankets and with hot drinks as we play this together! I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t 100% sure about the game when I first started playing it and felt a bit nervous of all sorts of aspects, mainly because it wasn’t the same as I was used to, due to the RPG gameplay. However, the more I’ve played it, the more I’ve started to relax and enjoy it, especially with Dane. I’m yet to finish the games story and in all honesty it’s not one I’ve been hooked on/about. In typical Japanese RPG fashion, the talking goes on and on and whilst I’m happy with it in Persona 5/Persona 5 Royal, it’s something I don’t like for Pokemon. Due to this, I’ve mostly skimmed the story, which in itself is a shame. This being said I really do enjoy and love the game, bugs aside too! I’ve recommend it to so many people, it’s definitely one to play as a Pokemon fan, especially if you love RPG.

Just a few of my favourite things…

Pokemon Center Vulpix Plush.

I was so happy to get my hands on this Pokemon plushie at the end of January. It’s been on my plushie grail list for as long as I can remember and after January payday, I decided to finally order one! This cost me less than Β£20 with shipping from Japan and I’m so glad I finally decided to get it! It’s from the Chiku Chiku Sewing collection from 2015 and I didn’t realise when buying it that it was new with tags, which is even better. I had some people online query if it was a fake plush, which was a tad annoying, but alas it’s very much real.

Ghost Foxes Bishop Longline Dress

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing. Unfortunately I don’t have any decent pictures of me wearing this yet… 😦

Black Milk Clothing Ghost Foxes Bishop Longline Dress.

This is a dress I decided to get to replace the Ghost Foxes Mini Strappy Dress, (which I have since sold) I bought back in July 2021. Although I’d removed the tags and washed it, I’ve never actually worn it and seeing the bishop dress style come out, I knew I had to get it. I LOVE the bishop style and already own three dresses in this cut, this one making it four. I’m planning to wear this dress for both work as well as in general. With it being white, it may be more the latter and especially for days out where I’m not eating or drinking anything that could stain and ruin this dress considering it’s white. I also picked up the longline so that it’s longer on me. The normal bishop cuts are okay on me, but if I can have a dress longer, I’ll always go for it! The length of this is amazing, it felt a little bit too long at first to me as I’m not quite used to it, but it’ll be perfect for work especially! The print is beautiful too with the ghost foxes on it. Foxes are my favourite animal, so I’m always a sucker for pieces with them on.

Cute outfits/clothes.

This is something I’m going to talk about in more detail in a couple of weeks on a post but I swear, getting myself some new staple pieces has been a big thing for me in 2022 so far. I don’t know what it is but I decided this year that I would love to do more with my style and change it up a bit. I’ve spent a lot of the past two years wearing the same baggy joggers, t-shirts and hoodies due to Covid and I want to change that. I want to dress up for the sake of it and feel cute whilst doing so, plus I think it would really do my mental health some good. I feel like a lot of pastel and cute prints have come into my wardrobe and I’m so excited to wear them all for work, as well as in general. If you want to see some of the stuff I picked up during February, make sure to keep eyes peeled for that post in a few weeks! For the time being, I’ve popped some of the items I’ll be talking about soon above, including Tallulah’s Threads, Disturbia and The Sad Ghost Club.

New enamel pins.

I ordered a couple of new enamel pins recently which was nice! I don’t know why but I feel like enamel pin purchasing has definitely slowed down a little, which is always good as quite frankly, I’m running out of space!

The sausage dog pin from MossFrogPress has been on my favourites list on Etsy for as long as I can remember. I made some monies from selling some pins at the end of 2021 so I decided to use the money I made to pick up this pin. As it was coming from America, the shipping was more expensive than the item itself, so this wasn’t a cheap pin in that aspect. Definitely worth it now! It’s such a cute pin I get to look at everyday when I get ready.

I finally decided to back FoxLeap’s enamel pin club on Patreon at the end of January so I could snag the Patreon exclusive Lady puppy pin that Sophie had made. Not only did I get my Lady pin (as this was a freebie), I also got a The Cat Returns pin too (which I chose), some prints and even a freebie Alolan Ninetales pin and mini pin! Sophie is one of the kindest and most generous people I know and definitely an enamel pin artist you should check out. Her Patreon is all about you picking what you would like that month, from a list of choices. No one else (as far as I’m aware…) offers this type of pin club.

Finally this is an enamel pin from Depop that I snagged second hand. This enamel pin is by Sugarbones, a Canadian artist I adore! I love her Studio Ghibli and Animal Crossing designs, but she decided in 2021 that she would move away from fan themed pieces, so whenever I see one I missed out on previously, I’m going to try and snag! Haku is my favourite Studio Ghibli character, so any gorgeous pins I see with him on, I have to buy! πŸ˜€

Kawaii AF Kickstarter campaigns!

Finally I’m here to share some adorable Kickstarter campaigns I’ve joined or at least had my eye on joining. They’re all so cute! I told myself in 2022 I wouldn’t back as many Kickstarter campaigns to try and save money, but some are just too adorable not to.

Project image for Toast the Raccoon Cute Plushie Toys + Keychains

Image taken from Kickstarter.

Toast the Raccoon Cute Plushie Toys + Keychains – link (ends April 8th 2022).

This campaign is adorable and straight away as soon as it launched I backed it! It’s by Yencat and is based off of her popular and original character Toast, who as you can see is a raccoon. I LOVE raccoons, they’re my spirit animal due to their love of food and being chubby, I can relate to both of those. πŸ˜› Yencat decided to create a plushie Toast, as well as an enamel pin and plushie keychain. I’ve backed for all of them and already counting down the days until it arrives! The Kickstarter ends in April, so if you like the look of this campaign, you have plenty of time to check it out and back it yourself.

Project image for Delicows ~ enamel pins & more

Image taken from Kickstarter.

Delicows ~ enamel pins & more – link (ends March 19th 2022).

I’m pretty sure I mentioned this briefly on my post about Quirkory and their Patreon pin club (you can read all about it here) but if I didn’t, I’m mentioning it again as earlier this week Quirkory released a new Kickstarter campaign, all about cows! Delicows is a mixture between delicious (food and drinks) and cows. Hence, Delicow! There are loads of different types of designs to choose from and I’ve backed for five of the designs in question, Cowpuccino (ideally one with Shugarlump), Moocha Latte, Cowreo, Peppermint Moocha Latte and maybe Darcowness. It feels like there’s a design for everyone in this collection and considering there are 24 plus designs to unlock there’s plenty of choice for everyone!

Images taken from Kickstarter.

Cute Animal Knitted Sweaters and Enamel Pins – link (ends March 3rd 2022).

This is a Kickstarter campaign by Dogzsquadarts I really like the look of at the moment and one I’m tempted to back before it ends in a couple of days! I am trying to be better with my money in 2022 and so far, it’s been going really well! I’ve already bought a shit ton of clothes and I don’t know if I want to buy anymore due to this fact. This being said, two of the pieces from this campaign are adorable and I do feel like I’d love at least one of them in my wardrobe! There’s the Shiba Inu sweater, as well as the Golden Retriever cardigan that I would love to get, but… I don’t know if I can justify it? I’m going to see how I feel about it, they’d both be adorable to get but unfortunately they aren’t pieces I could wear to work, otherwise that would probably spur me on more.

So there we have it guys, my favourites from February! What did you guys love throughout February? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and have an amazing weekend!

Black Milk Clothing Ghouls Night In

Tim Burton Halloween GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

First of all, HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone!

I haven’t written about Black Milk Clothing for a while now (since April!) so, this post is definitely long overdue. The Ghouls Night In collection came out mid September and I couldn’t pass up the chance of adding some spooky pieces in my wardrobe, especially as I recently had a sort out and made room in my wardrobe for some new pieces!

I was really good (in my opinion…) and only picked up three pieces initially… But Black Milk Clothing did do some restocks on some of the sold out pieces from the Ghouls Night In collection, including one piece I was really after, so I couldn’t not snap them up. So, I picked up four pieces altogether.

First thing I want to say here before I show off all the goodies I ordered is how quickly they arrived! Since directly starting to place my orders through Black Milk Clothing last year, my orders have usually taken around a month to arrive to me via Australia Post/Royal Mail. However, the two orders I placed from the Ghouls Night In collection arrived in a week! I don’t know if this is due to Black Milk Clothing wanting to ensure orders arrived in time for Halloween (as a lot of stuff they only shipped out after 5th October), or if delivery times from Australia have improved since COVID began last year.

Either way I’ve been so excited to share with you all what I ordered! Black Milk Clothing has somewhat helped me with my body image the past year and has also given my wardrobe a much needed kick up the arse, that it definitely deserved.

Eventually I hope to do a massive Black Milk Clothing collection post where I can show off all of the pieces I own, as well as share some of the grails I hope to find and buy in the future. Would you guys love to see a collection post in the future? Make sure to let me know what you think.

Now, onto the pieces I ordered from the Ghouls Night In collection!

Thought I’d throw a funny photo in from the shoot we did… πŸ˜›

  • Venomous Bishop Skater Dress (link)

This has fast turned into one of my favourite Black Milk Clothing pieces to wear! It’s the perfect all around dress, whether it be for work, days out, or even evenings out. I’m yet to really talk about the new bishop style, which has also fast turned into one of my favourite style of dresses from Black Milk Clothing to buy!

The bishop style in skater, (which is my go to in dresses) has gathered sleeves and even has pockets! I didn’t quite realise until writing this post that the reason behind the name of the style comes from the style of the gathered sleeves. The style first came out through The Blissful Life collection in the Tartan Magpie dress, which I snapped up too.

The print on this dress is a snake and from what I can tell the snakes head is only on the chest, with the rest of its body wrapped around the rest of the dress, which I love! I didn’t realise from the photos alone on the website that this is how the design was. The dress itself is incredibly comfortable as it’s made from Black Milk Clothing’s lightweight fleece-lined toastie fabric, which is perfect for the colder months!

I wore this piece to the office a couple of weeks ago and received nothing but compliments on it. It’s such a gorgeous piece and one that isn’t too in your face either. When I wear this in my own time I’m planning to wear with my Dr Martens boots to give it an edgier look! This dress would be great to wear at a gig… Maybe My Chemical Romance next year when they come to the UK? πŸ˜€

This piece is now sold out, as it was part of the 7 day unlimited and then limited after. They did also bring out a pair of velvet high waisted leggings with the same print, but these have now sold out too. At the time of writing this (22/10/2021), there will be the same print but blue brought out in the new collection, The Fast Life, so if you missed out before, maybe it’s your chance to snag that design again! There will be a dress, leggings and a sports bra!

This photo was so much fun to take! It took us a while to get the angle and the lighting right, but it was definitely worth it in the end!

  • Good Spirits Bishop Skater Dress (link)

This is a dress I fell in love with when Black Milk Clothing announced/showed it during the promotional stages before release. However, I kept umming and ahhing as to whether or not I should actually buy it, mostly due to already owning the Ghosties Longline Evil Tee DressΒ from the previous Halloween collection. This being said, I didn’t jump straight in with ordering from this collection, as the two pieces I picked up (bishop dresses) were 7 day unlimited, which meant I had the choice as to whether or not I actually wanted to pick the items up before they went to limited. In the end I went for it! The print is absolutely adorable, it’s in the bishop style that I love and it means I can get my spook on throughout the year and not wear out my one dress all the time!

The design on this dress is pretty simple to be honest. It’s a black dress with kawaii ghosts all over, pulling all sorts of faces from happy, shocked, angry, and the usual “boo” face you tend to get from ghosts. It’s a cute and playful design and one I’ve made sure to wear before I break up for work for my week off next week and I’m especially going to be wearing it next week during my week off work!

The same comments on the style applies here, as it did to the Venomous dress, the bishop style is gorgeous and I’ve been praising it to Sharkies (name for Black Milk Clothing community) constantly!

They did also bring out a hoodie jumper with the same print on it, which was something I contemplated getting instead of the dress. I didn’t bother however due to price, it was a limited piece AND the hoodie didn’t have pockets! Who buys a hoodie without pockets?!

  • Bats Purple Suspender Hosiery (link)

This is a definite item I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted or not. I wanted the black variant of these hosiery but they sold out really quickly, I’ll talk about them a little more towards the end of this post…

I decided to get them as I do love me some suspender hosiery and having a funky purple pair with bats on was something I couldn’t really resist! These are limited too and now sold out, so they won’t be coming back anytime soon. The hosiery from Black Milk Clothing are really thick and OSFA (one size fits all), I’m an L in Black Milk Clothing (I do own M in some older pieces too) and these are very generous in size, so although I don’t know for sure how big these could go up to, I would say a size XXL might be okay!

This is my second pair of Black Milk Clothing hosiery and I love them! I’m already planning to wear them with my Disturbia strange oversized skater dress as the colours and design of the dress shout Beetlejuice to me! I’ve also seen a black dress from Black Milk Clothing I’d love to pick up in the future as I saw someone on Instagram pair this dress with the purple bats hosiery and they look amazing.

Legit my favourite photo from the photoshoot!

  • Ghost With The Most Cuffed Pants (link)

This is the item I ended up ordering from the restocks and I think out of the whole collection it’s the one I’ve been looking forward to the most. These are also my first pair of cuffed pants so I was incredibly anxious when ordering them due to sizing. Would the size L be too small? Maybe even too big? I was advised by a few people that the pants are generous in size, with some even saying the L would be too big. Alas I still went for the L for my own sanity and they arrived earlier last week. They’re definite a little on the baggy side and going down to an M wouldn’t have hurt, BUT this being said I love that they’re baggy as it means they’ll be lovely and comfy for meals out and more.

As you’ve probably gathered by the look and name of these pants, they’re heavily inspired by Beetlejuice, which I LOVE. I realised last year that Beetlejuice is my favourite Halloween movie. I loved the cartoon of the film as a kid and I think I was in my late twenties when I finally watched the film. Don’t ask me why it took me so long to watch it, because even I don’t know! I’m not the biggest Tim Burton fan, so maybe that’s why?

As you can see the pants are the black and white vertical stripes we all know and love Beetlejuice for, with the cuffed up parts of the pant having a green striped design with black bugs all over. It definitely makes the pants pop when they’re cuffed over. The only thing I don’t like about these is how high up they feel when the cuffs are over, but that may also be due to how high up I’m wearing the pants when I tried them on. These of course also have pockets, which is always amazing!

Either way I’m so glad that Black Milk Clothing decided to bring this piece back as I honestly love it! I’m planning to wear them on Halloween with my new Halloween Animal Crossing Timmy and Tommy t-shirt by BarelyBlossom.

Now I’ve spoken about all the pieces I bought from the Ghouls Night In collection, I want to take a moment to share some of the pieces I’m still hoping to pick up in the future, some limited and some permanent items.

Ghost With The Most Blazer

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

  • Ghost With The Most Blazer (link)

I honestly wish Black Milk Clothing would have restocked this blazer alongside with the cuffed pants as I could have seen me buying both in all honesty. The set would have looked so cool to rock for meals out with friends, cocktail evenings and more. This was limited so it’s not out of stock on the website. Fingers crossed for it coming out again in the future, OR someone selling online. I wouldn’t know which size to buy however!

Bats Black Suspender Hosiery

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

  • Bats Black Suspender Hosiery (link)

I mentioned previously against the purple bats hosiery I picked up that the black ones were the ones I wanted mostly. This being said, I do love the purple ones and still plan to pick up the black bats pair in the future. These will look really cool with my Halloween pieces I picked up, as well as colourful dresses!

Velvet Black Mini Strappy Dress

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

  • Velvet Black Mini Strappy Dress (link)

Finally we have this piece that I don’t regret not buying, as I’ve only really thought about it this week whilst I was drafting up this post! Someone on Instagram who works with Black Milk Clothing (mayumouse) posted a picture of her wearing this dress with the purple bats hosiery and I LOVE that look so much! It just looks so good with how she’s styled the outfit with a chunky belt too and I’m living for it! I would definitely love to re-create this outfit myself in the future so… We’ll see what happens! This dress is a permanent item so, it’s definitely doable.

So, there we have it guys! My haul from the Ghouls Night In collection. I really loved this collection and as I regretted not picking up more items from last years collection (Welcome to Halloweenia) I didn’t want to face that same regret this year.

I’m so bloody excited to wear my Halloween pieces around the spookiest time of year, as well as all year around. What do you guys think of the pieces I picked up? As well as the collection in general? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time guys – HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

October Wish ListΒ β€˜21

I cannot believe we’re now over a week into October. It’s already flown and before we know it, it’ll be Halloween and Bonfire night, two of my favourite times of the year. πŸ™‚

In October I’ve so far been on a spending ban, only buying things I need, as well as a Christmas present… Yes I said the C word in October! πŸ˜›

Image taken from Mental Health Foundation

I want to mention today how it’s World Mental Health Day and a reminder for anyone suffering with their mental health to reach out if you need help, not matter what!

I know I’ve been really struggling with my metal health the past month or so, it’s the reason why I’ve stopped streaming on Twitch, as well as other things. I know I have a lot of lovely people around me to talk to and I’m just trying to plod on each day and do the best I can. But, there are a lot of resources you can reach out to if you’re suffering:

Samaritans – 116 123 /Β samaritans.org

NHS Non-Emergency – 111 /Β 111.nhs.uk

Papyrus – 0800 068 41 41 /Β papyrus-uk.org

Mind – 0300 123 3393 or text 86463 /Β mind.org.uk

The Mix – www.themix.org.uk/get-support

Anyhoo, it’s time for me to show you guys what items I have on my wish list for this month. A couple of items I’ve got ordered and some I’d love to get when I’m paid at the end of the month… This being said, Christmas is on the way (here comes the C word again :P) so I might just see if Dane might buy me one or two things for me for Christmas. πŸ˜‰

  • DarkDevil’s Designs Tempworker Patch – (link)

As many people must know by now, I LOVE Bee & PuppyCat, so much. I know DarkDevil’s Designs does bring out some Bee & PuppyCat fan merchandise and recently they’ve brought out this adorable Tempworker patch! I’d love to get it in the future soon and pop it with my PuppyCat amigurumi pieces, or even on a future Bee & PuppyCat enamel pin hoop I’m planning on making.

  • Lumichee Metal Mousemoth Hoodie – (link)

This is a hoodie I’ve wanted for about a month now and whilst I’ve really wanted to order… The price of the shipping is really high, which I know is no fault of the seller. This item is on my Christmas wish list as I would like it, but don’t know if I can justify getting it myself. It’s an alternative style looking hoodie with the faded black/grey look, as well as Lumichee’s original character Mousemoth, in metal rocker form!

  • Killstar Ghost Hinged Jar – (link)

Halloween is just around the corner and with that comes a lot of spooky and gothic homeware and more! Killstar is a gothic clothing and homeware brand anyway, so with Halloween comes the excuse for them to bring out more cute spooky goodies, including this ghost jar! I saw one like this recently from TK Maxx, but I left it as I wasn’t 100% keen, however I really do love the look of this one from Killstar! This is on my Christmas wish list, so it would be cool to own eventually! I think I’d use it for my cotton pads. πŸ™‚

  • Black Milk Clothing Ghost With The Most Cuffed Pants – (link)

My favourite Halloween movie is Beetlejuice. I used to love the cartoon show as a kid, even though I’d never watched the film (from memory…). Years later when I was in my late teens, early twenties I decided to finally watch the movie and I fell in love with it! Beetlejuice is definitely the ghost with the most! I always watch it around Halloween and I even wanted to book an outdoor cinema “experience” so me and Dane could go and watch it, but nowhere is showing it, which is a shame. 😦 That aside, when I saw the Beetlejuice cuffed pants go for sale on Black Milk’s website, I HAD to order! I’ll be wearing these both for work as well as personal. They won’t arrive in time for Halloween, but that won’t stop me wearing them all year around. πŸ˜›

  • BarelyBlossom Glow In The Dark Animal Crossing Timmy & Tommy Halloween Edition Embroidered T-Shirt – (link)

This is an item I’ve actually ordered and I’m waiting for it to arrive. As I’ve said before, I love Halloween and as many readers of my blog should know by now, I love Animal Crossing too! So, to see this adorable design of Timmy and Tommy dressed up as ghosts, I was already sold, so when I saw that the white thread used for the ghost design glows in the dark, I was ecstatic. I ordered it as soon as I could on a black t-shirt. I’m definitely going to wear this on Halloween whilst me and Dane chill together. If my Beetlejuice cuffed pants arrive in time, I’ll pair these together. I’m planning to write about this t-shirt on my blog this week coming or next so I can show off this and the rest of the Halloween goodies from BarelyBlossom.

  • Stami Studios Greedy Ghost Pins – (link)

Another Halloween item on this list and it’s the last one too. Stami Studios enamel pins are bloody adorable and whilst I don’t have many by them, I have enough to know the quality is amazing. Stami Studios has brought out a few Halloween designs both enamel pins and clothing, including these greedy ghost pins! I want all three to be honest, I can’t pick one design. As you can see these three ghosts are all eating or drink snack foods, including drinking fizzy pop, eating an ice cream, and eating Pocky. I’m hoping to treat myself to all three designs in the future. πŸ˜€

So there we have it guys, that’s my wish list for October! I know it’s been a bit of a mish mash of clothing and accessories, with one homeware item. Of course, due to Halloween the majority of items are themed around that!

What items do you guys have on your wish lists this month? Also, what are your plans for Halloween? Any spooky movies you recommend me and Dane to watch over Halloween? Please let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and see you soon! πŸ˜€

September Favourites ’21

I cannot believe it’s already October! This month has flown by and it’s been a mixture of good and bad for me. I won’t go into the latter but I’ll definitely share some exciting stuff me and Dane got up to during the month!

I’m quite glad for a new month to be honest, purely for the bad that’s happened and I especially cannot wait for Halloween at the end of the month, some time off for me and Dane as well as Bonfire Night too, even though that’s November. πŸ˜›

For October I have decided to go on a spending ban too, I need to start saving for Christmas, which will be here before we know it! I’ll talk more about that on next weeks post (wish list).

Without further delay, let’s get on with the monthly favourites!

Favourite Beauty Product – Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm.

I don’t know what happened at the start of September but at one point for about a week my lips were so dry, sore and sensitive! So much so, at one point I was anxious I had eczema/dermatitis on my lips! During mine and Dane’s week off we went shopping and I decided to pick up this Blistex lip balm in the hops it would help my lips, which it did, thank fuck for that! Quite frankly since buying this I’ve been using it on my lips when they feel sore or sensitive and due for a flare up. This was only Β£2 from Bodycare, but I know it’s around this price elsewhere too from places like Boots and Superdrug.

Favourite Film – Free Guy.

I literally watched this film the evening before writing this post as it’s on Disney+ (thanks Sacha for telling me! :D) and I was SO EXCITED for watching it! I remember when this film was announced, as well as a trailer, I was so hyped. Ryan Reynolds is my favourite actor, so whenever he’s in a new film I always tend to check it out.Β Free GuyΒ is about Guy, a NPC (non playable character) in a Grand Theft Auto style game. One day he realises he can do more and is more than just a guy who works in a bank. It’s an amazing film and I highly recommend everyone to watch it, especially if you love Ryan Reynolds like me, as well as games. πŸ˜€

Favourite TV Show – Kenny Vs Spenny.

Kenny Vs SpennyΒ is a TV show I kept (and keep) going to and from and I love it so much! It’s one that Dane actually introduced me to around the start of our week off together in September and it’s also one he thought I’d heard of. This is due to the fact it’s similar to Dirty Sanchez and Jackass, which are both right up my street.Β Kenny Vs SpennyΒ came out in the early 00’s, which you can tell if you watch it. The show is hilarious though and is about Kenny and Spenny, two best friends who set each other challenges. The winner gets the loser to do horrible prank style stuff. Kenny is always cheating and due to that often wins over Spenny, so when Spenny wins it makes me so happy. I’m constantly rooting for Spenny. πŸ˜› I highly recommend you giving this a go, all six seasons are over on Kenny’s YouTube account, which I’ve linked you back to. πŸ™‚

Favourite Music/Album – Lil Nas X – Montero.

Lil Nas X’s new albumΒ MonteroΒ came out a couple of weeks ago and since then I’ve been listening to it on and off. I love some of the songs fromΒ MonteroΒ and I think Lil Nas X is such a legend! This isn’t my usual music genre of choice but I do really love this album. It’s got a little bit of everything in there (lyric topics wise) and I’m always there for that! I’d say whether or not you like this genre, definitely giveΒ MonteroΒ a listen as you might be surprised at just how GOOD this album is! I’m listening to it as I write this post this evening. πŸ˜€

Favourite Game – WarioWare: Get It Together!

Gaming in September for me has really been lacking due to a mixture of being busy and just not being in the mood. However, I have played a bit of the newΒ WarioWareΒ game on Nintendo Switch as Dane pre-ordered us both a copy. It’s been so much fun to play alone as well as together as it’s full of small quick paced party style games, which can be frustrating and funny all at the same time! This is the first time I’ve played a WarioWareΒ game and I’m glad I’ve finally gotten to give it a go. If you fancy getting this game but want to see what you think of it, make sure to go to the Nintendo eShop and download the demo to try before you buy. πŸ™‚

Just a few of my favourite things…

The Steamhouse Bakery.

I have been excited to talk to you guys about The Steamhouse Bakery and why (if you’re in the Midlands) you need to visit in on your next trip! I heard about The Steamhouse Bakery during lockdown last year ad have wanted to go there ever since. So, during mine and Dane’s week off last month we decided to go and we went all out… In a way! πŸ˜› We had yummy coffee, bagels and of course had to get some cakes too!

We bought a bagel of each, but decided to share them so we could see what they were like! I went for The Workman (Smoked Bacon, Scrambled Eggs & Sausage) and Dane went for The Southern Gent (Roast Chicken, Bacon, Mozzarella, BBQ Sauce & Leaves). Both bagels were amazing and as you can see from the photos, you get plenty of food too! We were stuffed and couldn’t eat any dinner due to that fact. πŸ˜› We also ordered some cakes, I had a Nutella and Bueno brownie and Dane had a Twix doughnut.

The Steamhouse Bakery have three stores, based in Leamington Spa, Worcester and Redditch. So if you’re in the Midlands (or live here like I do), there’s a chance on your next trip out to Worcestershire, you might be able to drop into one of the stores to try their amazing baked goods… And coffee. πŸ˜›

Holiday to Wales.

A couple of weeks before September, we decided to book a few days in Wales, just to get away and have a break. We haven’t had a holiday (as in get away from home) since Japan in January 2020 so this trip away was a little overdue. We did a tour of the coast of Wales travelling from Pembrokeshire, to Aberystwyth, and finally to Snowdon. During out time there we did lots of walking, visited our friends farm , walked on some beaches and stayed in a luxury cabin with a HUGE bath and double showers. It was a lovely break away and we’re already planning to go to the luxury cabin again in the future!

Black Milk Clothing Ghost Unicorns Sheer Romance Dress.

This photo is actually from the luxury cabin in question, but I wanted to show off my Black Milk Clothing ghost unicorns dress, as I LOVE it! This is the first time I’d worn it, which was just on the way home from Wales. I then wore it again for my dad’s birthday meal out! I LOVE the romance style of BMC’s dresses as it’s so flattering for my figure and I always feel fancy wearing them (I own two including this one). On our way home from Wales we stopped off somewhere for food and the woman who served us commented how lovely my dress was and how it had a pink glow around the restaurant as I walked around. Her comments really made me smile. :’)

Ghost Items!

I have to show off some of the new spoopy items I’ve received from orders and pre-orders, especially these two ghostie cuties! I love kawaii ghosts, I have done since I was a kid, so when Halloween comes around, I always like to snag a few spooky pieces.

The Sad Ghost Club brought out a limited edition plush back in July and I made sure to pre-order my own as soon as I could! My Sad Ghost arrived a week or so ago and it’s so cute and perfect. The Sad Ghost Club is something I really adore and their posts on Instagram really do help me when I’m feeling low. I feel like it’s been around forever and it’s always been something that comes up on my social media now, it’s sort of like a norm for me now. So, to have my own Sad Ghost as part of my plushie collection really does make me happy!

I also managed to snag this large DW Home ghost candle from TK Maxx… Well, technically I sourced it through a group on Facebook and someone was nice enough to pick it up for me and ship it. This candle smells like vanilla cupcake and honestly, the picture doesn’t so it just of just how big this thing is! It weighs a ton but that cuteness really does pack a punch. This ghostie lives on my bedroom window shelf and it makes me smile looking at it each morning and evening. I’m planning to light it soon… But at the same time I want to keep it nice! xD

Autumnal Gel Nails!

Finally I want to share my newest and current gel mani with you all! I know nails might not be some people’s thing and I get that, I do. But my nails mean a lot to me now. I’ve mentioned before on my blog (I’m sure…) how bad my nails condition used to be. I’d cut them down so short they would bleed and they looked tiny and more like children’s nails than a grown adults. Due to how often I cut them down, they didn’t get the chance to grow. This was down to my anxieties and I often cut them down to stop myself from chewing and biting them.

When I started going to my nail tech almost two years ago now, I wondered if getting my nails done with gel would be for me. Who knew it would be, eh? I bloody love my nails now and love seeing them look healthy, long and gorgeous all the time. I don’t have my nails long, because I do still like them neat and short. If I have them long, I end up chewing on them and the gel doesn’t last five minutes.

My friend Bintou (hey girl! :D) recently had her nails painted pretty much the same as mine, which in turn inspired me to go with some gorgeous fall colours for my recent mani! I love them so much and they’re definitely up there as some of my favourite nails! πŸ˜€

There we have it guys, my monthly favourites from September!

What were some of your favourite things last month? What are you looking forward to in October? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Roll on Halloween I say!!!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you have a great start to the month. πŸ™‚

Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon 2.0

Back in February Black Milk Clothing announced that they would be bringing out a second Pokemon collection and I was SO excited for this! I counted down the days and watching their Instagram page like a hawk to find out what designs were coming out, as well as WHEN the collection would drop… Which dropped at the start of March!

I made sure to get my order in there and then for the goodies I wanted and I didn’t miss out on anything I wanted. However, I do regret not ordering a couple of items in particular that I’ll be sharing with you all in today’s post.

Considering I’d shown you all the first Pokemon collection from Black Milk Clothing and the Animal Crossing collection, I thought it would be nice to show you the pieces I snagged from the second Pokemon collection! I only grabbed two pieces, but they’re both so pretty and I’m really excited to rock them this summer. πŸ™‚

Just a heads up, both of the pieces I picked up are limited, which means they’re limited edition and may not be available anymore to buy, OR might have certain sizes left in stock. I will address this when I talk about each item.

Another thing to bear in mind/address is that I always pick up a size L in my Black Milk Clothing pieces as they’re the fit I like. They’re not tight and they have a little bit of give with them, which is perfect for me. πŸ™‚

For Pokemon 2.0 I personally didn’t feel that this collection was as strong as the first collection, but this being said there were aspects of 2.0 that really stood out and certain things the first collection could have done with. Examples of this being the evil tee dresses. There were SO MANY that came out of 2.0 and they were all gorgeous! I picked one up myself, but I could have easily picked up two. Alongside this three blazers came out with gorgeous print inside. I really loved these, but I’d have never worn them.

Some of the pieces were very hit and miss however and quite frankly I was incredibly disappointed by the fire starters print Black Milk Clothing had created and put out there. It looks like something anyone could photoshop and work on themselves at home. The fire starters are my favourite starter Pokemon so I was really excited to see what Black Milk Clothing would bring out. I wasn’t the only person to complain about this issue. Thankfully there was another design they revealed that I fell in love with!

  • Fire Type Floral Cuffed Shorts (link)

I recently bought my first pair of cuffed shorts from Black Milk Clothing (Isabelle Gingham Cuffed Shorts) and they’re so bloody comfortable! I’m looking forward to wearing them with tights underneath and a cute t-shirt or sweater. I fell in love with the floral fire starters design as it has that 60’s/70’s feel to it that I really do love! Plus I’ve started to bring more pink colours into my wardrobe, which these shorts are perfect for. The fire starters are dotted all over the design, with my two favourites Cyndaquil and Fennekin featuring in perfect places on my pair of shorts! I honestly can’t wait to wear these during the warmer months, especially as lockdown begins to lift again.

  • Psychic Type Longline Evil Tee Dress (link)

This is by far my favourite piece that came out of the Pokemon 2.0 collection and I couldn’t wait to snag it for myself! I bought my first evil tee dress when the Halloween collection came out in 2020 when I picked up the Ghosties Longline Evil Tee Dress and since then I really wanted to grab another one, so this Psychic Type version of the dress was good timing. It’s a gorgeous dark purple colour with lighter purple and blue swirls all over, as well as psychic Pokemon including – Mew, Mewtwo, Espeon, Slowpoke, Starmie, Indeedee, Ralts, Woobat, Meowstic, Espurr, Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Rapidash. It’s just gorgeous and would definitely be a conversation starter when out and about. I don’t know when I’ll wear this next, but I’m planning to rock it soon whenever me and Dane or friends go out and about.

Those are the only two pieces I picked up from the Pokemon 2.0 collection. I mentioned earlier regretting not picking up a few pieces, one of them being the Eeveelution Camo Cargo Pants and the piece mentioned below…

Image taken from Black Milk Clothing

If there is one piece I regret not buying it’s the Snorlax Snoozing Snuggle Suit. I’d bought the Pokemon Dreams Snuggle Suit not long before the second Pokemon collection was announced and I have fallen in love with it. I wear if often, including after work and on days off. I didn’t quite realise how much I was going to fall in love with Black Milk Clothing’s snuggle suits and due to that I regret not buying the Snorlax variant too. I have reached out to ask Black Milk Clothing if this will ever come back in stock and they said maybe at the end of the year. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled on eBay and Depop in the future for this to show up. Honestly I need it in my life! What I love the most is the colour of it. This is my favourite colour and whilst I’m not the biggest Snorlax fan, he is a sleepy boy and I can relate to that on a big level. πŸ˜›

So, there we have it guys! Honestly I’m so glad that Pokemon has reawakened my love of Black Milk Clothing. I’ve really started to show off my love of dressing quirky and different during the past year and it’s something I’m excited to continue doing in the future, especially with lockdown and restrictions easing!

If you’d like to check out any of the previous posts I’ve written about Black Milk Clothing collections I’ve bought, I’ll pop them below:

What do you think of the pieces I picked up, as well as the other designs from the Pokemon 2.0 collection? Did you buy anything from this collection? Are you planning to pick up any Black Milk Clothing pieces for yourself soon/in the future? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have an amazing weekend!

February Favourites β€˜21

Can you guys believe it’s March tomorrow? I can’t. February went by really quickly and you know what, I’m not complaining about that. I’m going to be honest, February was a shit month for me and I’m really glad to see the back of it. My mental health was really tested for three weeks solid and there was a time where I was in a really low place. To be honest at the time of writing this (Thursday 25th) I still have a couple of days left of the month to go, so fingers crossed the rest of the month treats me well!

I just want to be honest with you guys. The first week I felt numb and empty and it was mostly PMS related but I started to think about life before lockdown, COVID and my parents. I really miss them. The first thing I’m planning to do when lockdown is over and it’s safe to do so is see my parents. I was also starting to think about how I miss my aunt who passed away in September. I think about her almost daily and yeah. It’s shit.

The second week I can’t talk about too much. My mental health was just bad, I was a nervous wreck and I just couldn’t stop crying some days. Just to get this out there, I’m okay now and these feelings have now passed… Thank fuck.

The third week (well this week really…) things just didn’t seem to go right. Dane was told to self isolate at the end of the second week, we’ve had some issues in the house and we’ve been irritable and miserable as fuck. Thankfully we’re both feeling a lot better now.

I just wanted to get that off of my chest. Just because I appear happy and cheerful on my blog and social media, it doesn’t always mean I am and the same goes to everyone. I’m quite good at putting an act on when the time comes. It’s something I’ve had to do my whole life in regards to my mental health.

I also want to say a massive thanks to the handful of friends who have been there for me this month when things were rough. I miss and love you all. :’)

Besides me feeling like shit, February was also a month where I decided to go on a spending ban. I’d been very spend happy in January and due to it being a long month (payday wise) I was kinda skint. The February spending ban went pretty well… Until shitty week two out of three where I ended up treating myself to some Black Milk Clothing pieces… Oops. πŸ˜› Aside from that, the spending ban went really well and it’s actually inspired others to go on a spending ban with me too! I’m already planning to do it again in March AND people will be joining me for that!

Of course if you’re interested to follow along, or maybe even join yourself I’ll pop the template I’ve created for March above. I’ve been posting daily to weekly updates on my Instagram page (theremightbecoffeeblog) stories. Come and join in!

Anyhoo, enough of me waffling on about spending bans and more, let’s talk about my favourites from February. It may have been a crap month but I loved so much stuff and have been excited to share it with you all!

Beauty

  • The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel.

I’ve spoken about this shower gel from The Body Shop many times and I really do love it. I tell this story every time I talk about this shower gel, which I’m sure everyone is bored of now. πŸ˜› Basically my mom used to always buy me a bottle of this shower gel whenever we visited The Body Shop (once every few months or so?) so whenever I use it, it reminds me of when I was younger. I had a Β£5 birthday voucher and I didn’t want to worry I lost it, so bought myself a MASSIVE bottle of the strawberry shower gel. It’s something Dane loves just as much as I do so it works out nicely. I’ve been using it loads this month and not only does it smell amazing, but it has left my skin feeling lovely and soft too. πŸ™‚

So… Now it’s time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month! If there isn’t anything I’ve done I’m not going to mention. I haven’t mentioned a movie this month as I don’t actually think I/we watched one!

Favourite TV Show – Attack on Titan Final Season.

It saddens me to say that we are on the final season ofΒ Attack on Titan, it only feels like yesterday that me and Dane were watching it for the first time (we’d travelled to Bristol for a long weekend for our first anniversary)… That was almost seven years ago! I love the show and I for one am sad to see it come to an end. So far this final season has been AMAZING and it’s something me and Dane have either watched Sunday night before bed, or Monday morning before work. I don’t want to say too much due to spoilers but it’s amazing and very β€œWHAT IS HAPPENING!” Moments throughout. This is because I don’t/haven’t read the manga yet. I plan to in the future. I definitely recommend watchingΒ Attack on Titan if you never have and want to!

I just want to add here that I was going to also add another TV show I’m loving right now… But I’m going to wait until next month when it’s due to end. Spoiler, it’sΒ RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2… πŸ˜›

Favourite Book – Remina by Junji Ito.

GUYS I actually read a book! One book, but A book! This is actually a manga that Dane bought for himself that I ended up reading before him. It’s the latest manga from Junji Ito and it was a strange but enjoyable read. It’s about a young woman called Remina whose dad has discovered a planet, which he names after her. The planet isn’t good, shit goes crazy and people start to blame Remina for it, due to their shared name. For those of you who aren’t aware, Junji Ito is described as the β€œking of horror manga” due to his unique art style. It’s incredibly detailed and beautiful, although creepy all the same. This isn’t a long manga, but a lot of packed in there! I didn’t really like the ending, but I don’t know what else I expected really. This being said it’s amazing and I recommend giving it a read if you’re already a fan of Junji Ito’s work, or a new reader of his work like I am.

Favourite Music – Childish Gambino – Summer Pack.

I recently discovered the track β€œSummertime Magic” by Childish Gambino through a game and I have fallen in love with it. From that I also discovered β€œFeels Like Summer” as both songs were on an EP calledΒ Summer Pack which I really love. I’ve found myself listening to them whilst working, even whilst writing up this post on and off too. I’ve never really listened to Childish Gambino before but I’ll definitely listen to his work more in the future for sure! I’m not super excited for the summer yet due to everything going on in the UK at the moment with lockdown and COVID, but as and when we can have a fun summer again, these are songs I’ll be playing whilst cooking something on the BBQ and sipping on a cocktail!

Favourite Game –Β Ark.

Ark is a game me and a group of friends have been playing recently after we bought a server and with Dane and a friend of ours both needing to self isolate in February it’s been good for them to have something to do during the day, as well as in the week. I’d never played Ark before so I was feeling a mixture of excitement and anxious of what to expect. All I knew about it was that it’s a survival game surrounding dinosaurs. We’ve been playing it for over a week now and we’re all having an amazing time! πŸ˜€ I’ve become the one who looks after the dinosaurs and tidies up around the place. πŸ˜› We have two robot stegosaurus’ which I called Daft and Punk. Yes, I’m a loser. πŸ˜› It’s just such a fun game and I honestly recommend it to everyone who fancies something new to play. Plus, I’m pretty sure it’s free on Xbox too!

Just a few of my favourite things.

  • Creating an amigurumi – Animal Crossing Bizkit dog villager.

Not long after the third lockdown began in the UK I decided I would take up a new hobby and that new hobby was going to be amigurumi! I’d been mesmerised by it for quite some time thanks to Instagram and I thought, β€œWhy not give it a go myself?” I’m not going to lie, the first time I gave this a go I was stressed out and anxious that I’d picked up a hobby I couldn’t actually do… My aunt always tried to show me how to crochet when I was younger and I never got the hang of it. Dane was really good and helped me so much with learning how to do some of the basics of amigurumi and if it wasn’t for that, I think I would have given up.

I worked on this project for a couple of days and didn’t go back to it for a few weeks after getting busy. I don’t know what happened but when I picked it back up I just… Got on with it and something that I’d struggled with so much the two weeks prior just came natural to me! I haven’t finished Biskit yet, but I plan to at the start of March. I’ve been a bit too busy lately to pick it up back but I only have a leg and his ears left to do.

Due to the amount of wool I have left I’m actually planning to make another one to either gift to a friend or keep hold of. In the future I would love to do some more projects similar to this including more Animal Crossing dog villagers, Pokemon and maybe even try and find a Puppycat (Bee & Puppycat) and Morgana (Persona 5) design to play with too.

If you’re interested in this design too and fancy giving it a go yourself then make sure to go and check out HanisCrochet! I bought my PDF pattern on her Etsy store and she’s been so lovely and helpful when I’ve gotten stuck or confused with the pattern. I’ll link back to the Biskit pattern here. The next one I plan to buy from her is Cherry so I can make one for Dane, as well as my friend Gabriella. πŸ™‚

  • Pikarar photoshoot (read the post all about Pikarar here).

I’m not going to talk too much about this but I LOVED this mini photoshoot that me and Dane did for my Pikarar review! I had loved the mini photoshoot we’d done for my Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon collection post (which you can read here) so I knew I wanted to do another. Our front room is perfect for these photoshoots and I’m not going to lie, 2021 will hopefully bring more!

As you will have noticed on my blog, as well as on my blog social media pages my image has changed to be the one where I’m wearing my yellow Pikachu crane Pikarar t-shirt. I loved how natural the photo came out and I found by wearing something Pokemon and geeky related it’s more related to what my blog is about.

What do you guys think about the photos? πŸ˜€

  • Food – Pancake day,fFakeaway and Japanese ramen.

February was a month of me cooking some yummy meals and if there is one thing I really love to do, it’s cooking. Towards the start of February we had Shrove Tuesday/pancake day! I always make pancakes for me and Dane when pancake day rolls around and I knew we had to have them with bacon and syrup! They were really yummy and now I’m craving them again. πŸ˜›

I’ve cooked a couple of “fakeaway” meals during February including Nandos and this burger meal we did! The burgers are Linda McCartney’s vegetarian pulled pork burgers and they are AMAZING! I cooked up some chilli halloumi to pop on top and on the side, as well as some salt and pepper chips. This was such a lovely dinner and it definitely hit the spot.

Finally earlier this week I made ramen. It’s been BLOODY FREEZING this week in Birmingham and both me and Dane needed something to warm us up, so I decided to cook us ramen. I used Oumph! spiced kebab meat which is vegetarian and it’s okay… But it’s not something I’d pick up often as I find for the price it isn’t worth it. I’m not 100% vegetarian (flexitarian?) but I’m not someone who eats kebabs so I’d rather have this, if that makes sense? πŸ™‚

  • Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon.

Pokemon Day was yesterday and can you believe Pokemon has been around officially for 25 years? I feel fucking old… πŸ˜› I mentioned earlier in this post that I had splurged on some Black Milk pieces towards the end of February and pissed my spending ban UP THE WALL! One of the two pieces I picked up is the Pokemon Dreams Snuggle Suit that I’ve had on my wish list since the collection came out in 2020. I’ve been wearing this on and off toward the end of February and it’s so comfortable to wear during games evenings and chilling with Dane. Black Milk Clothing have their Pokemon 2.0 collection coming out TONIGHT (in the UK anyway…) and I’m planning to buy a couple of things from it. I’m eyeing up the Snorlax snuggle suit but… I don’t think I will. One is enough for me me thinks.

So that is everything from my February monthly favourites! As I said before, February was rubbish for me but writing this post I’ve seen some things I really loved and enjoyed this month, which has made me feel a bit better. πŸ™‚

What were your favourites from February? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care, keep safe and see you soon!

Black Milk Clothing x Animal Crossing

This has been a blog post I’ve been pretty excited to write and share with you considering it contains Animal Crossing related goodies!

If you don’t know by now I LOVE Animal Crossing and with the release Animal Crossing: New Horizons back in March I have been even more obsessed than usual.

I’ve also rediscovered my love of Black Milk Clothing in 2020 thanks to the Pokemon collection that came out in the summer. You can read about all the goodies I picked up from that collection here.

October 5th and less than a month after my Pokemon goodies arrived, Black Milk Clothing announced they were releasing an Animal Crossing collection and it would be released just over a week later on 13th October! I was all over it and watching my Instagram page daily for sneak peaks and reveals of what the pieces looked like that were going to be part of the collection.

I’m not going to sugar coat it… I was incredibly disappointed by the Animal Crossing collection and I know I’m not the only one either. Some of my friends and people on social media gathered to express their disappointment. It just felt like Animal Crossing was cheated, as the Pokemon collection was amazing.

At the same time though I was kind of pleased due to how much money I’d already spent on the Pokemon collection, as well as one piece I picked up from the Halloween collection as well.

I won’t moan too much about the pieces I didn’t like, but I want to be honest, which I know you guys appreciate!

The one piece that everyone commented on is the Pocket Skater Skirt that is literally the box art for New Horizons. This was in very poor taste and felt kind of… Lazy. They could have done so much more than just slapping the box art on the skirt. It reminds me of something you would buy from a knock off of Black Milk Clothing from Wish or AliExpress.

Another complaint myself and others said on social media is how the fossil stand alone design was missing from this collection, as well as constellation designs for Celeste. The latter would have been gorgeous as a skater skirt and or skater dress design. I just felt like a lot of the collection was the same prints wise and the styles they were put against was strange. One in particular being the Villagers Tie The Knot Jumpsuit. It’s just… Ugly and random and just a big ball of no from me.

I decided on three pieces I was going to buy from the collection and was super nervous when it came to the time to put my orders in. As we all know, the Pokemon collection sold out stupidly quick the first time and even the restocks sold out after a while. I prepared myself for this collection to sell out… But I didn’t need to at all. The collection is still in really good stock with only two pieces being sold out at the time of writing this post (12/12/2020).

I ordered my pieces and waited for them to arrive. I think it took a little longer for my goods to be sent out to me (and others) due to a printer breaking. I was offered a 10% discount code, which I used to buy the Sporty Stripes Hosiery 2.0. These are amazing, but I won’t be showing them off in this post.

After I ordered my pieces, I’d heard about some issues with a piece from the Halloween collection, that was similar to one of the Animal Crossing pieces I’d bought. I’ll go into that a little more later, but let’s put it this way… I was gutted to find out that one of my pieces would arrive and after being worn would have issues with it… >.<

My pieces FINALLY arrived on the 27th November and I couldn’t wait to try them on and feel a little like an Animal Crossing character! πŸ˜€

As I stated on the Pokemon post the tracking was really good! I was able to keep up with where my parcel was and more. It did give an estimated arrival, but my goods arrived a little earlier than what was suggested, which was good!

Like when I bought from the Pokemon collection, I don’t know why I wasn’t charged customs. I don’t know if it’s due to Royal Mail delivering my parcel or what. I was very lucky and I’m grateful I wasn’t stung. I find it odd though when I spent less money on my Halloween piece I was stung for Β£20 customs and I only bought one piece! :S

I didn’t take any photos, but the pieces I ordered arrived in perfect condition! All the pieces I bought were made in Australia and arrived in a special bag you can throw away in your compost bin and it’ll decompose. I love this idea and more brands need to do this.

Finally the time has come to share with you the pieces I picked up… But if you were aware of the collection and all the pieces that released with it, you may have realised by now just which pieces I picked up… Seeing as I posted a photo of them all together at the start of this post! xD

I just want to add here by the way that all the pieces I bought are not sold out, but may be limited in sizes OR may have sold out by the time this post goes live. As far as I’m aware the pieces I bought, once they do sell out, they aren’t making a return.Β There are some pieces under the Pokemon collection that WILL return (which you can seeΒ here), so make sure to sign up for restock alerts if items thatΒ aren’tΒ LIMITED. πŸ™‚

Sadly there are no pictures of me in the dresses as at the time of writing this post I’ve actually really badly pulled my shoulder and if I’m not in a world of pain, I’m smothered in deep heat to try and help the pain go away. I have tried my best to show off the pieces. Not going to lie, the photos aren’t the best. 😦

  • K.K. Long Sleeve Oversized BFT (link)

I’ve never owned a BFT (boyfriend tee) from Black Milk Clothing and I’m not going to lie, you can definitely size down for these as they’re oversized (as it states in the name). I bought an L, which is my go to size to order from Black Milk Clothing. It’s really big but at the same time I like how baggy it is. I could get away with wearing this with leggings and tucked into mom jeans with no worries.

It’s a black tee with a massive image of K.K. Slider on the back, on his stool and with his guitar, ready to jam on a Saturday night. On the right sleeve there are yellow musical notes and on the left it says, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons“. I do wonder if they could have instead of putting the name of the game, maybe some of the pictures of the songs in the game by K.K Slider? Then on the front on the left hand side there is another image of K.K. Slider.

I do love the BFT and I know I’ll wear it loads, especially whilst working from home. The quality feels great and I know this will be loved throughout the autumn and winter and chillier days in spring and summer.

  • Β  Nook Gingham Evil Skater Dress (link)

I love skater dresses from Black Milk Clothing and the Nook gingham one is no exception! The only thing I don’t like about it, is it doesn’t have pockets like my Eeveelution dress. The skater dresses from Black Milk Clothing are my favourite thing to buy from them. I can wear them all the time, later them up if need be and more! I can already see me wearing this dress on Christmas Eve/Day because it’s just shouting Christmassy colours to me.

As you can see the skater dress is red gingham with images of Tom, Timmy and Tommy Nook all over, as well as money bags and DIY recipe cards. I do love this, it’s such a simple but perfect design. If you know about Animal Crossing and who these characters and items are, of course you would get this straight away. However, if people don’t happen to know about Animal Crossing, it can just look like some cute raccoon/tanuki animals. I also feel like this dress would be a conversation starter for nerds alike!

Not going to lie… I’m wondering if I can get away with wearing this dress to work when I’m eventually back in the office again. I feel it would look lovely with a cream t-shirt underneath or a cream jumper over the top for colder days. I know I really want to get a new black/navy/cream boyfriend cardigan to wear with my Black Milk Clothing pieces.

There are quite a few pieces in the collection with this pattern, including short overalls and cuffed pants. I would love the latter to wear with geeky t-shirts but I don’t know if they would suit me… At the same time, I would love to grab some cuffed pants in different designs to mix up my Black Milk Collection a little too.

  • Isabelle Gingham Apron Dress (link)

This is the final piece I picked up from the Animal Crossing collection and it’s one I want to talk about in a lot more detail than the other two pieces. You know I mentioned earlier in the post that one of the pieces might come with issues? It’s this piece…

So let me get the issue out of the way first. So the material the apron dresses are made out of are rubbish. If anything catches onto them, it can make a mar on he pieces and make them look frizzy/fuzzy. I’ve heard people report that wearing a seat belt causes issues, wearing a bag with a chain strap, but with the strap adjusters on the apron dresses that causes issues too, which is what has already happened to mine. I was expecting it, so I’m not too gutted, but I am at the same time too. I just really wanted a dress with this design on it. The Isabelle tartan design is my favourite from the whole collection. They did release a Pilgrim Dress and some Cuffed Shorts but I didn’t really want either (eventually I do want the cuffed shorts…). I could have cancelled my order and reordered but… Why should I?

The main issue here is that the material used for the apron dresses is a problem and Sharkies (name for Black Milk Clothing fans) have been raising it for a while now. Not only are the apron dresses affected but I know I heard of someone who faced issues with the Rainbow Garden Long Sleeve Scoop Skater Dress from the Animal Crossing collection, which is a massive shame! I thought about buying this dress as it has some of my favourite villagers on (including Cookie!) but I’m glad I didn’t know. I can deal with buying one dodgy piece, but not two.

I’ve not raised this issue with Black Milk Clothing yet, but I fully intend to soon. I wanted to raise it on my blog post because word needs to get out. There is a material that is SHITE and you should avoid it if you can. I could have cancelled my Black Milk Clothing order and just not bought the dress, but I wanted it. Why shouldn’t I have something I want because of some dodgy material?

Anyhoo, I’m FINALLY going to talk more about the dress, because it’s gorgeous and it needs to be spoken about highly too like it deserves.

I’ve never owned one of the apron dresses before and they’re… Interesting. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to them or what, but I’ve found it a tad awkward to wear. I have big boobs and a big bum, so trying to balance both of those factors with this dress is tricky. Plus I didn’t want to keep playing with the strap adjusters in case it damaged the dress anymore than it already has. The chest doesn’t feel covered enough for me, but then my bum won’t feel covered enough. When I eventually wear this properly I think I’m going to wear a long sleeved top underneath, or maybe even a shirt or jumper and instead of tights, I’d wear leggings due to the length of the dress.

Isabelle | Animal Crossing Wiki | Fandom

The design on the dress is gorgeous and as I’ve already said, my favourite from the collection! It’s a green gingham with images of Isabelle, a white daisy (cosmos in Animal Crossing) and the classic Animal Crossing leaf. It’s just so perfect! In Animal Crossing: New Leaf Isabelle would wear a green gingham dress (as shown above) so this is perfect in every way, shape and form! If anything I wish they’d brought out a skater dress with this design on it! One thing I love is that this has pockets too! Pockets on dresses is definitely a way forward.

I feel like I won’t properly wear this dress until a special occasion. I could wear it New Years Eve around the house, my birthday in January or maybe anniversary in June. It’s a dress I’ll be cautious about wearing… But I won’t NOT wear it. Otherwise it’s a waste. I get why people have stopped buying the material in question that is having issues and I don’t know if I’ll buy it again.

So, those are all the pieces I picked up from the Animal Crossing collection! Although pieces are mostly limited, there are some limited and permanent pieces that I would love to pick up in the future, including – Isabelle Gingham Cuffed Shorts and Collectibles Cuffed Shorts. I’d love to wear these with sweaters and thick tights!

Overall I am really happy with the pieces I picked up from the Animal Crossing collection I do wish they’d been a bit more creative in regards to the pieces they released.

It’s a real shame to have seen the Pokemon collection do so well (it’s not on it’s SECOND restock!) and the Animal Crossing collection do so poor… It just goes to show the designs really didn’t do as well as they could have.

What do you guys think of Black Milk Clothing? Do you own any pieces by them? Are there any pieces you like the look of? In the New Year I might do a massive post showing off all of my Black Milk Clothing pieces! Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, stay safe, take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon

Guys I have been SO excited to write this blog post! I wasn’t planning to until later on this month, but I can’t wait any longer. It needs to go up as soon as possible! πŸ˜€

I discovered Black Milk Clothing back in 2011 through a forum I used to be on. It was only in 2014 when I got my first piece, my mermaid leggings from eBay. Since then I’ve always bought my pieces second hand/new via eBay and Depop. I’ve never been caught out by fake Black Milk, thankfully! So, although I own Black Milk Clothing pieces, this is the first time I actually bought direct from them. I’ll share that experience later on in the post. For now, I want to talk about the Pokemon Collection!

Back in June Black Milk Clothing released their Pokemon collection and it was one I was SUPER excited for. I was worried there wouldn’t be any pieces I wanted to get, but it turns out there were at least a handful of pieces I really like the look of, one in particular, the Butterfree Romance Dress.

I knew I wanted this dress and decided if I was going to pick up one item from the collection, it was going to be this piece. The collection launch was slowly looming and I got myself ready to put the dress into my basket and pay. When it came to pressing “confirm payment” I kind of… Freaked out. It was coming to a lot of money, I was preparing for my bathroom to be worked on and… I hesitated. By the time I had some mini regrets, the dress had sold out… Followed shortly by the rest of the collection. I was gutted but at the same time I felt better for not picking the dress up, due to money.

Weeks flew by and I kept thinking about the dress. Every time I ventured to Instagram, Black Milk Clothing was showing off people wearing THAT dress and even one of my Instagram friends had bought the dress. I WAS GUTTED! I tweeted Black Milk Clothing pleading with them (not seriously… but seriously! :P) to bring the dress back.

Black Milk Clothing heard mine and many others pleads and prayers for the Pokemon collection to return and guess what? They announced a restock in July, over a month after the original release of the collection. I knew I was going to get that Butterfree dress this time and more! I wasn’t exactly rich in July after the bathroom being worked on, but I was so gutted about not getting the Butterfree dress, that I knew I wanted it.

I settled on three pieces I wanted to pick up, including the Butterfree dress and I managed to snag them all! πŸ˜€ Before I show them all off though I just want to share how I went about buying from a popular collection, as well as from Black Milk Clothing for the first time.

As I mentioned before, due to hesitation alone I missed out on buying the Butterfree dress from the original launch. Items do not get saved or kept in your basket, so you need to act fast, which I made sure to do when buying from he restock.

Something Black Milk Clothing do is to pop all collection items up in the store for you to view and add to your wish list ready for when they release. You select your size, and click on the “add to wish list” heart, simple!

The Pokemon collection launched on Tuesday at 7am Australian time (as that’s where the company is based), which is Monday 10pm here in the UK. I wanted to pick up three items from the collection, so I had three tabs open of my wish list ready. I kept it open for about an hour, but at 9.45pm I kept refreshing all three tabs. The collection for me launched at 9.58pm, so as soon as items started to become available to buy, I clicked buy on each tab until all three items, in my chosen size were in my basket.

I proceeded through the payment sections and confirmed my order, which went through without any issues! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t shaking before, during and after ordering my pieces… Which sounds pathetic but I was so anxious that I wouldn’t get ANY of the pieces, let alone all three.

I was so anxious to be honest that the order wouldn’t go through, or it would be cancelled, so I waited for my email to say it was confirmed, which came through pretty quickly. I also waited to hear about my goods being sent… Which was a couple of weeks later after ordering.

I’d already ordered some goodies from Australia, which had taken a month to arrive from me, but I also knew of friends who had bought from the first release of the collection and had waited a month for their goods to arrive. I was happy to wait and just under a month after ordering, my goodies arrived!

The tracking was really good! I was able to keep up with where my parcel was and more. It did give an estimated arrival, but my goods arrived almost a week later than what was suggested. Again I didn’t mind, as long as my goods arrived to me. πŸ™‚

I know a lot of people who were stung by customs and I also know a lot of people who weren’t. I was the latter, thankfully! I know someone who bought three pieces like me and wasn’t charged customs. I also know someone who bought one piece and was charged customs. Finally I heard of someone online who bought four or five pieces and was charged Β£40 in customs! FUCK!

I don’t know why I wasn’t charged customs. I don’t know if it’s due to Royal Mail delivering my parcel or what. I was very lucky and I’m grateful I wasn’t stung. I can only hope for the same in the future whenever I want to order pieces from Black Milk Clothing.

I didn’t take any photos, but the pieces I ordered arrived in perfect condition! Two of the pieces were made in China and came in clear plastic bags, whilst one of the pieces that was made in Australia arrived in a special bag you can throw away in your compost bin and it’ll decompose. I love this idea! More brands need to do this. It’s a shame that only the pieces made in Australia get these bags.

Finally the time has come to share with you the pieces I picked up… But if you were aware of the collection and all the pieces that released with it, you may have realised by now just which pieces I picked up… Seeing as I posted a photo of them all together at the start of this post! xD

I just want to add here by the way that all the pieces I bought are sold out and as far as I’m aware, they aren’t making a return. There are some pieces under the Pokemon collection that WILL return (which you can see here), so make sure to sign up for restock alerts if you’re interested. πŸ™‚

  • Butterfree Romance Dress (link)

As mentioned time and time again this is the dress I fell in love with from the Pokemon collection and I KNEW I had to have it! It’s a gorgeous light pink colour with Butterfree’s all over it. I went for a size L and I have no regrets! I could have probably gotten away with an M but I like the extra give. It’s really comfortable and roomy and I love clothing like that. Tighter/snug fit clothing often make me anxious and self conscious of my figure and always have, even when I was really skinny.

The romance dress style is one I’m new to but one I really love as it’s really flattering to my shape with it’s skater style skirt and the v-neck front. V-necks are usually something I pick up as I’ve always worried it doesn’t suit… Especially considering I’ve always had a big chest, but if anything this v-neck really suits that and I’m so pleased! I was wary that the v-neck may be too low and actually show off a bit more than I wanted to. This isn’t exactly the case, however due to the dress size giving a little, I think I may need to invest in a new bra to wear with this, or wear one of my other bras as you can see my current go to a little… This is something that is easily sort able!

The fabric itself is sheer, especially on the sleeves, but it’s not too sheer that you can see completely through the pink material and Butterfree design. The sleeves are also puffed, but the wrists are cuffed which I really like!

The style of the dress really does remind me of something from the 60’s/70’s and although it seems more like a spring/summer dress, I already know I’ll be wearing this all year through! I plan to wear it for evenings out with Dane and friends, as well as at work for any special events that are going on.

I’d wear this dress with black tights, a fake leather jacket and either some flats or boots.

  • Gastly Evolution Handkerchief Dress (link)

This dress is one I really loved from the start but wasn’t sure if I was going to pick it up or not when making my order. Purely because it sold out so quick in the first release, that I didn’t think I’d even get hold of it when making my order. Alas, I did and it’s a dress I’m glad I ordered. It’s a dress that is out of my comfort zone, purely for the fact it’ll be hard to cover my arms unless I wear a t-shirt underneath, or a constantly cardigan over the top. It’s a gorgeous grape purple colour with Gastly, Haunter and Gengar printed all over it in a flocked fabric. It’s a mid thigh length, which is perfect for me but it’s just something different with the handkerchief style.

I’ve seen some girls over on Instagram style this piece up and they look AMAZING! I’ve seen some wearing a black mesh t-shirt under and some with a thick chain belt around the waist. I’m loving the latter, but I haven’t yet found a belt I want to get for it. Shoes wise, I don’t have a bloody clue what I’m going to wear with it yet! Probably end up being my Dr Martens boots to give it a rock/punk look.

Someone over on Instagram said how perfect this dress is for Halloween and she couldn’t be anymore accurate! Although I’m glad I ordered this dress, at the same time I need to get the right bra to wear with it, as well as how and when I want to. I think this is a dress I’ll wear for evenings out with friends, meals for work events and more. I have worn it around the house without one and whilst I can manage to get away with it in my own company, I’d never 100% feel comfortable doing that outside of the house.

If there is one issue I have had with this dress it’s the fact you have to hand wash it in cold water… But this isn’t the problem. The problem was the amount of purple dye that came out of the dress when I washed it. The bath looked like I was draining away a purple bath bomb! Plus it was just a pain in the bloody arse to try and wring out the dress. I thought I’d done it enough and hung it on my clothes horse. An hour later I went down to check on it, only to discover a MASSIVE pool of water underneath it! Thankfully the floor was fine, I mopped up the water and put the dress outside to dry on the line. It didn’t take long to dry, but due to all the faff it’s put me off wearing it and washing it a little… I’ll wear it and wash it, but it’ll be a dress I need to wash when it’s a good day outside so I can dry it!

I already know how I want to dress this up! I’ve bought a chain belt to wear around the wait, black tights, my Dr Martens boots and a fake leather jacket.

  • Eevee Evolution Black Scoop Skater Dress (link)

The last dress I picked up from the collection is one that I’ve worn the most out of all three and it’s because it’s a Black Milk Clothing dress style I own a lot of. I love Eeveelutions and they’re some of my favourite Pokemon, but what encouraged me to pick up this dress was Attack On Mew purchased it and it looked adorable on her! PLUS this dress has pockets! I’ve never owned one of the skater dresses with pockets and it has literally changed my life! πŸ˜€

I ordered it in a size L and with Black Milk Clothing I fit either an M or L. Their sizing has definitely changed over the years and if anything their pieces feel like there is more room to them now than before… At least with the skater dresses anyway, which makes me really happy!

I’ve worn this dress with a long sleeved black mesh t-shirt underneath, black tights and my lilac Vans for a relaxed look. This dress is so comfortable and makes me feel confident, I honestly can’t wait to wear it more! I wish I could wear it at work as I think I’d feel super confident wearing it. Instead it’s going to be a casual dress to wear over the weekend, as well as for events and such. I’m already excited to wear it for Hyper Japan and Comic Con in the future.

So, those are all the pieces I picked up from the Pokemon collection! I could have easily picked up more looking back and there are a few limited pieces that I kinda regret not picking up, including – Mew Sheer Midaxi Dress and Ghost-Type HW Toasties. I definitely regret not grabbing the toasties leggings as I think they would have come in handy over the colder winter months. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled on eBay and Depop for either of these in the future.

There are also some permanent pieces that I’m definitely looking to pick up in the future, including – Bulbasaur Apron Dress, Eevee Evolution Floral V Dress and Eevee Evolution Floral Cuffed Pants. I could say I regret not picking up any of these pieces, but as they’re permanent items they’ll be back in stock in the future. I’m already planning on picking up the apron dress as well as the cuffed pants in the future!

I have always been a Black Milk Clothing fan, but for the past year and a half I’ve really forgotten just how much I LOVE the brand! I haven’t worn my pieces as much since joining the company I currently work at, but COVID and the Pokemon collection has reminded me how much I love Black Milk Clothing and why. πŸ™‚

Since picking up these goodies from the Pokemon collection I’ve already purchased another piece from the Welcome to Halloweenia collection. I can’t wait to show it you in the future… πŸ˜›

Overall I am really happy with the pieces I picked up from the Pokemon collection and although I may have wished to pick up another item or two, I got the main three pieces I wanted and that is kinda enough for me… For now. πŸ˜›

What do you guys think of Black Milk Clothing? Do you own any pieces by them? Are there any pieces you like the look of? Would you guys like me to eventually show off all the pieces I own? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, stay safe, take care and have a lovely weekend!

10 Basic Confessions Tag

basic pug GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Damn I’ve not long got home from work and I AM SOAKED! I get soaked running to my car and then soaked running from my car to the front door. Urgh, why did I forget my umbrella this morning? Well, I won’t tomorrow, that’s for sure. πŸ˜›

This must be the first post of the month (apart from my monthly posts) that hasn’t been Christmassy! Shock horror. πŸ˜›

Sarah over at Raiin Monkey tagged me a few days ago to take part in the 10 basic confessions tag. Last week I had a break from blogging, even though I had loads of blog related work up and ready as I’d spent the weekend before last just power writing and getting stuff up and ready.

That break was definitely needed! This week however, I am super busy with work so blogging is something I am trying to do, but my brain isn’t quite ready for it after a long hard day. I am trying though. So of course when Sarah tagged me to do this I just JUMPED at the chance!

The older I get the more I think I’m becoming less of a basic bitch, but I don’t know… I could still be a bit of a basic bitch to be honest with you! πŸ˜›

I love how this tag is something a little different and hey, there is NOTHING wrong with being a basic bitch! πŸ˜›

Β Holo

I’ve loved holographic stuff for years, before it became a trend to be honest but this is due to my love of Japanese fashion and other things. Growing up holographic stuff just stole my heart so the fact it’s a massive trend now makes me happy and even takes me back to the 00’s when I was a teenager. I love a good holographic nail polish lately, as well as stationary.

Wearing Vans with trainer socks

I don’t know if this is a basic thing, but I feel like it’s hipster and that still counts to me! πŸ˜› Since the summer I’ve found myself wearing trainer socks with Vans and although I love it, I used to take the piss out of teenage girls and men who did it! I usually wear them with leggings as well, which I think makes me even worse. It’s just so comfortable to be honest and Primark offer a HUGE collection of different trainer socks to choose from! My favourite ones to buy and wear are always Pusheen.

Starbucks

I love coffee, I really do. I grew up with my parents drinking coffee like it’s water. I also worked in Costa for two years so I like to think I know a bit about coffee too. Whilst I do still enjoy venturing into Costa and independent coffee shops, Starbucks is always going to be the basic bitches favourite place to venture to. I do really like Starbucks myself to be honest and whenever I’m out with my best friend Gabriella we go in there for caramel macchiato’s. πŸ˜› Also it’s the only place I find that does mint hot chocolate all year around, which in turn makes me happy.

Loving the sick (and rude!) memes

I’m such a sucker for memes and the more they create, the more into them I become! I feel like Facebook is just home to memes, cute animals and food videos that encourage you to cook and gain weight. I’m a definite lover of rude memes though and one page I love for this is Lush Dolly Memes over on Instagram. I love her posts and I think I’ve pretty much liked them all since the page started. πŸ˜› Go and check it out if you’re rude and crude like I am and then come back and tell me how damn funny their posts are.

Burning candles

I don’t know what it is, but during the summer months I’m not arsed about burning candles, but throughout the cold winter months the candles are lit daily in my house! Yankee Candles are my choice nine times out of ten to be honest, with Woodwick Candles being a close second. I just love scented candles so much, they add a lovely scent to the home, especially if you have guests. I currently have Cherries On Snow by Yankee Candle burning and I do really love it.

Table books

I do rather love books you can have in your living room either on/under your coffee table or on the shelf. People’s reactions to certain books is always good, whether it’s a comical book or about something you’re interested in. When I was a student I used to love going into places like Urban Outfitters and looking at the various different books they sell in there. I have all sorts of books myself now including books about The Book of Mormon, Persona 5, Pewdiepie, Deadpool etc. Table books are great and I recommend them for everyone!

corgi mermaid GIF

Mermaid leggings

These are definitely a basic bitch item BUT at least I buy mermaid leggings by the brand that kick started it all, Black Milk Clothing! I have almost a handful of different coloured mermaid leggings now and I love them all so damn much. Unicorns and mermaids are so basic bitch things it’s a joke! I’m not a mermaid or unicorn person really, but mermaid leggings I’m definitely a sucker for. πŸ˜›

Fairy lights

I LOVE fairy lights so much! Not long after me and Dane got together I bought some battery operated ones and wrapped them around my bed. I loved having them on late at night whilst I read books before bed. Since moving into the house we now have some colourful fairy lights (well our Christmas lights actually…) around the stairs and some fairy lights behind our sofa in the living room, which we’ve wrapped around some of the artwork we have framed and hanging up. Yeah they’re basic bitch lights, but I love them anyway! I’m actually hoping i have some more for Christmas to hang behind the bed.

Sex and The City

Apparently this is a basic bitch thing… I had to Google what classes as being basic as at this point in the tag I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE! Apparently owning the box set of Sex and The City is basic. I don’t personally think this but meh. I watch every single season and even the films of Sex and The City, in order at least ONCE A YEAR WITHOUT DELAY. Honestly, not even joking. Sometimes I just get the urge to watch it from start to finish and it makes me so happy. Now I’m talking about it, I feel like I really need to watch it again!

I genuinely don’t think I’m a basic bitch

Of course this would be something a basic bitch would say, but I genuinely don’t think I am. I just like things that this young basic bitches discovered 10-15 years later! I’m 29 soon and have been watching Sex and The City since I was 16… Sex and The City isn’t a basic bitch thing, it’s a necessity for all women out there! Mermaid leggings are just amazing and so damn comfortable. Who doesn’t love scented candles? Man I could go on. πŸ˜›

So I have come to the end of this tag post! It was something different to do, but I have realised from taking part in it that I am definitely not a basic girl. πŸ˜›

I want everyone who reads this blog post to take part in the tag and make sure to link back to me when you’ve written. I want to see what basic things you are as well. xD

Again, I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Sarah for tagging me to take part in this post!

Until next time all, take care. IT’S ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! πŸ˜€

May 2018 Collective Haul!

I don’t know how managed to collect so much stuff over the course of a month but I have! I haven’t written a haul post in forever so I thought it would be nice to do one today. I just feel like I’m accumulated loads of goodies, some of them are gifts as well which I’ll mention when I get to them. I thought it might be a good idea to write about all the shit (hahaha :P) I’ve purchased recently. I love reading haul posts, especially collectives ones so I thought you guys might have liked to read this too! πŸ˜€

  • Barbie x Missguided American Flag Joggers.

Back in May Dane dug out all the McDonald’s Monopoly vouchers he’d gained and he had LOADS of Missguided ones at 30% off. I decided to take the plunge and have a look on the website for what I could treat myself to. Now, Missguided really isn’t my sort of style. I looked for ages for a dress (or two) that I could pick up for work but they’re all going out bodycon style and urgh… I’m too fat and old for that shit now. πŸ˜› I went for a look at the Barbie pieces to see what they might have cute over there and I found these joggers. On my weekends I’m really becoming a joggers/leggings and a geeky top sort of gal when it comes to popping out for errands. I picked these up in a size bigger than I am as I wanted them baggy… I should have ordered my size in all honesty. These are HUGE but at the same time it means they’re really comfortable.

  • Primark Spider-Man T-Shirt.

This t-shirt was bought on a whim after venturing into my nearest Primark store. I’m sucker for a new t-shirt and I especially am when it comes down to anything geek and nerd related! I picked up this t-shirt because of how simplistic and yet adorable it is! I don’t like that the patch is on the side that I wear my braid on, as it means my hair gets caught on it sometimes. I’ll live though! This was only Β£8.00, which I find a bargain, even for Primark!

  • Black Milk Clothing Midnight Owl Skater Dress.

This was a purchase that I am so happy I made! I love Black Milk Clothing and I especially love their skater dresses. They always make me feel so pretty no matter what and I always get complimented on them. I picked this one up on a whim from eBay, in a size bigger than I usually get, which actually fits really nicely! It’s safe to say, it’s going to now be my go to dress for work, in general and even for special occasions. This only cost me Β£25, which included P&P. To buy from Black Milk Clothing it would have cost me $85.00 AUS, which converts to Β£48.42, that wouldn’t even include how much I’d have to pay to ship it to the country and possible charges on top of that as well. URGH, buying through eBay really is the best way! I plan to wear this to a friends wedding in July and I wore it for mine and Dane’s anniversary too. I’m after some more Black Milk Clothing skater dresses now, I honestly can’t get enough of them. I’m scouring eBay daily now for whenever new items are added. I have my eye on a few, but we’ll see what happens.

  • ASOS Lady & The Tramp Sweater.

This was a random purchase on Depop that I made recently, which was also my first Depop purchase! I remember when the matching sweater and joggers of this came out on ASOS 4 years ago and being a Lady & The Tramp fan, I picked up the joggers (which I still own and wear!). I went to order the sweater a week later, but it was sold out. Zoella had worn this set and everyone went mad for it, yuck (I’m not a Zoella fan…). ANYWAY after years of finding this sweater online and it selling out, I finally took the plunge and bought it! It only cost me Β£13 with P&P which I was so chuffed about! The original cost of this was Β£30 so I was right to wait 4 years for it… I guess. πŸ˜› It’s weird that I found my wish list post back from July 2014 where I was talking about how I wanted this sweater! I feel so fucking old right now.

  • Snot Girl Volume 2.

I mentioned this comic book series recently on both my May favourites as well as on my June wish list. I remember picking up this comic book a year ago after a YouTuber raving about it. I didn’t realise the story line was going to go the way it has and due to that I love it so much and if I felt that way after reading volume 1 then oh my fucking God this volume is crazy! I won’t say anything in case I give anything away, but this comic book has gone from what I thought was going to just be about a blogger and her drama, but it’s fast turned into some sort of horror/thriller style story based around a blogger. It is so damn good and I would love to see this go into a TV series of a film in the future like how Scott Pilgrim did.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 6.

I feel like I’ve spoken WAY TOO MUCH about this series lately and it’s kind of making me sick now to keep talking about it. πŸ˜› This is a manga series I love and adore and have bought as soon as it’s come out so far for all 6 volumes. I pre ordered this just before it came out and read it as soon as I got it. This is a series I really love and I especially love how now I’m further than the anime series is. I’ve not quite finished reading it yet, but I will do VERY soon. πŸ˜›

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Volume 2.

Another manga I have spoken WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT recently, but can you blame me? It’s amazing and adorable! Also at the same time it’s very strange how the story of Kanna and her friend Saikawa is and this shows more throughout this series. If you love Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid the anime version then you NEED to read this manga series at least! I know so many people who love Kanna, and I can’t blame them really. She’s so adorable and innocent.

These items below are now all gift related!

I recently had some issues with Lush Santa’s Christmas shower cream. It’s a bright red colour and obviously due to what they’ve added to the product to make it this colour, it’s stained various parts of my bath, as well as my shower puff and even my armpits (only for the day though). So I wrote to them on Twitter to complain. They were really helpful and offered to give me my money back, but that meant sending the product back and 1. I couldn’t be arsed to do that and 2. Why the fuck should I have to send it back?! What are they going to do with it that I can’t do myself? AKA throw it away.

They were lovely enough to also offer to sent me some goodies as a sorry, which I opted for. They asked me to list them some products I either love or would like to try. They were nice enough to send me one of my favourite products, as well as new one I’ve been wanting to try!

I just want to quickly add here that I know a lot of shit has been going on and happening around Lush lately due to their recent and disgraceful campaign. I don’t agree with it whatsoever. I also want to add I haven’t bought from Lush since I picked up the Santa’s Christmas shower creams just after Boxing Day. I need to really address my thoughts and feelings on Lush lately, but we will save that for another post!

  • Β Lush Supertramp Bubble Bar.

This is the product I mentioned being one of my favourites. I remember back in 2015 when me and Dane went to London and it was the first time I’d been to the Oxford Street Lush! This was an exclusive to the store at the time and as I loved Tramp shower gel back in the day, I knew I had to give the bubble bar a go too! The bubble bar to me is better as it isn’t as strong and it’s one I love to use when I’m feeling under the weather with hayfever or a cold. It really clears my head. I’m so happy Lush sent me this and even happier that if and when I need to buy another bar of it, I now can on their website.

  • Lush Oaty Creamy Dreamy Oat Milk Shower Cream.

This was the product I wanted to try as I haven’t really heard much about it, but when seeing how it’s made in the past it looks really moisturising! It smells amazing to be honest and really surprised me. I was expecting creamy oat and vanilla scents, but this smells heavily of lavender, which is in fact one of the ingredients. If you love lavender, you’ll love this! It’s not a thick shower cream like Santa’s Christmas and you only need a little of this for it to go a long way. This is definitely a shower cream you’d ideally want to use before bed, but I love using it in the morning on my days off as the scent does perk me up. I’ll probably buy a big bottle of this for my mom at Christmas as she loves her lavender scents.

This wasn’t a gift from Lush but actually from my manager at work! It’s belated birthday present and I am oh so grateful for it! She gave it me just before I broke up for my week off work and I used it the next morning before going to work.

  • Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel.

This is a shower gel from Lush I’ve wanted to try since it came out, but I just never have. When my manager gave it to me I was so happy and excited! So much so I opened it up for a sniff at my desk. πŸ˜› She had heard of me saying how much I love Snow Fairy and popped into the store to try and get one, but alas being a Christmas product they didn’t have it in stock. I can only assume that the staff recommended Plum Rain to her and if so, they did a good job! Then again, what else could they really recommend?! Their shower gel selection is so shit these days! I mean come on Lush, why did you discontinue The Comforter?! Surely it wasn’t doing poor in sales… I find it hard to believe myself… ANYWAY this has a gorgeous fresh scent and it actually reminds me of Christmas due to The Body Shop’s old sugar plum shower gel! This doesn’t smell as sweet as theirs though. Either way I love using this in the mornings as the scent really does wake you up!

So that was my collective haul! I know it doesn’t seem/look like a lot but bloody hell I’ve been spend happy lately! I was also going to mention mine and Dane’s anniversary presents but I’ll save that for a separate post.

I was also going to mention some of the pin badges I’ve bought from Ohayou! Clothing through their Kickstarter and Patreon but I’m going to save those for a separate post as well as I think they deserve some love all on their own! πŸ˜€ Not only will I be talking about pin badges but I intend to talk about all of their items I own so far, as well as items I’d like to own! Stay tuned for that, it’s been a post I’ve been meaning to write for the longest time!

What have you guys been buying the past month or so? Make sure to let me know down in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.
