May Favourites ’19

I cannot believe we are officially over halfway through 2019! The year is flying by, but I feel the past two months really have flown since I’ve been at my new job. It’s been amazing so far and to be honest with you the end of May and start of June have been amazing for so many reasons!

After years of wishing to go, on Wednesday me and Dane FINALLY booked our trip to Japan! I still cannot believe it’s happening and the sooner it sinks in, the better. I’ll be writing all about this in June at some point. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m off work next week which I’m really excited for as I haven’t actually had any holiday since my birthday in January. Me and Dane have loads planned, including going to Manchester for a few days and even going to see The Book of Mormon there! ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyhoo, I’ll try and give a massive life update post soon on my blog instead of using my monthly post to give you guys TOOOO many updates.

On with the monthly favourites! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Colgate Naturals Charcoal Toothpaste.

If there’s something I love, it’s a toothpaste that tastes sweet, foams loads and leaves my teeth and mouth lovely and clean. This is a new charcoal toothpaste by Colgate so on a food shop at the start of May I saw it was on offer so decided to pick it up. Well, I picked a couple of these because I do love a charcoal toothpaste. Since buying it I really do love using it morning and evening. If anything, it’s a pleasure to use. It doesn’t go black when brushing with it, which is fab! I know some people don’t like that when it comes down to charcoal toothpaste – this is nothing like that!

  • Lime Crime Wet Cherry Gloss in Cherry Bomb.

In the Easter sales I ended up grabbing some bargains, including the Lime Crime best of red lips and this was one of the four products inside of the set. Out of the four this is definitely my favourite to be honest, which took me by surprise! I’m not going to lie – whilst I thought the wet cherry glosses looked amazing, for ยฃ16.00 I thought they were a rip off for something you could pick up on the high street for half of the price and less! I’ll admit it. I’ve now eaten my own words, these lip glosses are definitely a game changer. They’re so light, not sticky and so much more pigmented than I thought they were going to be. If I fancy a bit of colour, but don’t wish to wear anything heavy I’ve been reaching for this. The wet cherry glosses also smell AMAZING! They remind me of the Yankee Candle Cherries On Snow and I can only image this is what an American cherry pie must smell like.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Everfresh Hydrating Wide-Open Eye Gel.

Since I started my new job, I’ve been seeing my mom more – which is so lovely. We tend to pop to the shops together after I finish work or relax. On one of our shopping trips I picked up a new eye gel for myself, that isn’t this one however. The one I bought was anti-aging and BURNT MY SKIN! It was horrible and I was beyond gutted in so many ways. My mom gave me this eye gel as she knew how I was after a new one. So far this one has been amazing and I haven’t had any issues. It’s a lovely cooling gel and even though I’m sure it isn’t anti-aging but I feel like it does help with brightening my eyes a tad.

  • Optex Intensive Eye Drops For Dry Eyes.

I really do love using eye drops, especially during he cold and hot months especially. Depending on the type of eye drops I buy, depends whether I repurchase them again or not. I don’t feel like I’ve ever really enjoyed eye drops as much as I have with the Optex ones. I find these work really well for me, especially as the hayfever season has officially started. These really help my eyes first thing in the morning to wake me up, as well as refreshing my eyes. I make sure to use these daily to keep my eyes from drying up whilst the weather is on and off of what it wants to be! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • L’Oreal Men Expert Pure Power Black Charcoal Face Wash.

IDGAF is this is a product for men, I’m still fucking using it! ๐Ÿ˜› It it works for blokes, it’ll definitely work for me. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you know what I mean! This is actually Dane’s face wash, which he loves to bits! He’s had this since about March/April now and around the time he first got it he recommended I give it a go to see what I thought of it. I LOVE it! A little bit of it goes a long way and it goes REALLY creamy and with loads of lather. It gives a lovely cooling feeling on the face, which is great when the weather is really warm. I give this a go once a week to once a fortnight and it really does give my skin a bit of a boost.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

attack on titan titans GIF

Favourite TV Show – Attack on Titan Season 3.

I was so happy forย Attack on Titanย to be back for the rest of season 3 at the end of April and weekly me and Dane have tuned into Crunchyroll or Funimation to make sure to watch the latest episode. We’re caught up so far at the moment and each episode has me on the edge of my seat and by the “to be continued” at the end of the episode, I am already craving more! Dane knows what’s happening throughout the series at the moment as he’s all caught up on the manga – so he’s always one step ahead of me in regards to what’s going to happen… Which sucks. ๐Ÿ˜› One of the episodes recently was really emotional for me and I really need this weeks episode soon!

detective pikachu pokemon GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Movie – Detective Pikachu.

I have been so excited forย Detective Pikachu since it was announced months ago so as soon as tickets were released for this film at my local cinema I made sure to get our seats booked! It was an awesome date night out to be honest with you and I couldn’t have been any happier as I left the cinema after watching this. It was everything I wanted and more and I would love to go and spontaneously go and watch it again. I played the 3DS game of this and it was completely different with the story line in various ways. I honestly enjoyed the film more, because whilst the game had more information about Tim’s father and clue searching the film had more about what happened to Tim’s father. Recently Nintendo announced that there is going to be a sequel toย Detective Pikachuย on the Switch, which I am SO EXCITED FOR! ๐Ÿ˜€ Honestly if you haven’t been to watch this film yet, go and see it before it’s gone from cinemas.

polar bear love GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Book – A Polar Bear In Love Vol. 4.

I love this manga series so much and I was so scared that volume 4 was actually the last volume in the series! Thankfully this isn’t the case, but this volume was really emotional and it really tugged on my heart strings. I’ve mentioned this manga series on and off in the past on my blogs monthly favourites, but it’s about a polar bear who falls in love with a seal pup. Of course polar bears eat seals so the love is seen as strange, especially by the seal who at first is constantly scared that the polar bear is going to eat him. Along the way they start to travel together and even make some friends along the way. This manga has been turned into a mini series, which I really need to watch more of! ๐Ÿ˜›

Favourite Music – I Prevail – “Bow Down”, PVRIS – “Fire” and Grimes – “We Appreciate Power”.

If there are three songs I couldn’t stop listening to this past month, it was definitely the three shown above. I discovered all these thanks to listening to KERRANG! Radio during the week at work and I’ve fallen in love with them all! “Bow Down” has some screaming singing in there, as well as some normal singing. I love the combination between the two singers and it works really well! I love singing along to it on my way home from work, as well as in the evenings when I’m chilling out. PVRIS are a band that I feel I’ve discovered too late! I now really want to get their albums to listen to, as I really love their songs, especially this one. It’s so damn catchy and I always find myself singing along to it, especially if it comes on when driving. Finally we have Grimes “We Appreciate Power”. I’ve always listened to Grimes on and off over the past 7 years and I do rather like her music. Another artist whose music I need to download and listen to more!

Image taken from Tumblr

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

This is a game I have not been able to stop playing whenever I have a moment to pick up my phone to play it. I play it in the morning when I wake up, if I have a spare 10/15 minutes before work, during my work break and then in the evening on and off after work. I don’t know how I have suddenly grown so addicted to it, but I have and I’m loving it! ๐Ÿ˜› Even talking about it now, I’m going onto the app to see if there is anything I need to do! I am so excited for Animal Crossing to come out on the Switch and I’m keeping fingers crossed that Nintendo will announce information at E3.

So those are all my favourites from May! Again, I cannot believe it’s June already. The start of June is always a busy month for me and Dane, including celebrating when we bought our house as well as our anniversary. We’ll be 6 years together this time next week and it’s crazy how time flies when you’re having fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d love to hear what your favourites were from May! Make sure to let me know in the comments down below. Do you have a busy month ahead of you? If so, let me know about that in the comments too.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have an amazing weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€

Shuffle The Music Tag

Image taken from weheartit.com

Recently the beautiful and gorgeous lady that is Stacey tagged me to take part in the shuffle music tag! I love being tagged to do things, especially random tags like this one! I know I partake in enough tags to last me a lifetime, but I don’t recall ever doing a shuffle music tag and if I have, it was a VERY long time ago. I love listening to music, it’s what makes me who I am and over the years has shaped who I am too! It’s thanks to my older brother, as well as people I looked up to growing up that introduced to a lot of the artists I listen to today.

I’m not going to lie, I’m just gutted there was only 15 numbers, I kept wanting to add so many trackers after the initial 15! GUTTED! ๐Ÿ˜›

As I said before, I was tagged by Stacey over at Simply Stacey for Shuffle The Music Tag. You can read Stacey’s answers here.

Again, thank you so much Stacey for tagging me! I loved reading your answers before I went ahead and took part in the tag! Now, let’s take a look at the rules:

  • Mention the creator of the tag and link to their blog
  • Thank the person that nominated you for this tag and link to their blog as well
  • Shuffle your entire music library (no matter how old songs the songs are) and talk about the first fifteen songs that come up ( anything like why they are there , if they signify something, any story, why you like them, etc.)
  • Mention the songs as well as the artists
  • Tag 7 people or more to do this tag and please let them know

And now itโ€™s time to press โ€œShuffleโ€, and the first 15 tracks on my shuffle list areโ€ฆ

1)ย Lily Allen|Chinese

Oh man I remember when Lily Allen first came out, I fell in love with her music and sadly after this album I didn’t like her anymore. This is from her second album and I listened to it loads when I was in my final year of college and first year of university. I still really love this song as when I listen to the lyrics it reminds me of me and Dane when we first moved into the house and I was in a dark place. That and it’s just such a sweet and nice song, one you can definitely sing along to!

2)ย The Offspring|(Can’t Get My) Head Around You

This is a band I definitely grew up listening to and they hold a place deep down in my heart! I remember discovering them through the game Crazy Taxi and it was only when I asked my brother who they were that he put one of their albums on for me to listen to. I only own the greatest hits, but I need more music of theirs.

3)ย Mylo|Zenophile

Mylo is an artist I discovered when I went to college and it’s an album I always stick on whenever I’m on holiday, or having a “party” at our house as it’s such a chilled album. There isn’t one song on this album that I would skip because they’re all so amazing! I love chillout music so much and this is definitely my go to album when I want to listen to any. This song is so relaxed and chilled to listen to as well. Definitely give Mylo a listen if you want something chilled.

4)ย Knife Party|Resistance

If there’s a band I love, it’s Knife Party! They blew up years ago and are pretty much Pendulum, BUT BETTER! If you want some music you can listen to whilst driving on the motorway, or something to listen to before going on a night out, then Knife Party is the band to go to! When I was younger and went out clubbing pretty much every night (whilst working may I add! This wasn’t whilst I was a student!) this was my go to artist to listen to before going out. This is one of the newer tracks and as soon as “this is a knife!” hits, the bass just comes in and you can party! It reminds me of the sort of music people listen to whilst off their heads on something to give the more energy. ๐Ÿ˜›

5)ย The Bravery|Unconditional

Aww The Bravery! This is a band who I really liked, but not as much as I thought I would! I remember getting this song on a compilation CD from a friend and I loved it so much. Years later I bought the album and I was so disappointed! I remember as a kid reading about the rivalry between these guys and The Killers, The Killers back then were one of my favourite bands and their first album has a place in my heart. I still love this song so much though and it reminds me of when I was younger.

6)ย Nirvana|Heart-Shaped Box

Oh Nirvana, a band who I was brought up listening to, but due to my age I never understood them. When my brother and I started hanging out (I was 7 and he was 25) he tried to introduce me to everything he loved and it really did rub off onto me… But it only sunk in years later. Star Wars was one of them, Nirvana another. I just love their music, as well as the lyrics and this is probably my favourite Nirvana song.

7)ย Daft Punk|The Game Of Love

Daft Punk are one of my favourite bands and they’re also on my “band to see before they/I die” list. I was so damn excited back in 2013 when this album was announced and released and I listened to it daily and very loudly may I add. I loved it so much I even wrote a post about it on my blog! I’ll link it here if you fancy reading it. I really love this song on the album, it just sounds so heartbreaking and yet beautiful at the same time. It’s a very chilled song.

8) Queens Of The Stone Age|I’m Designer

Another band who are on my “band to see before they/I die” list! I love Queens Of The Stone Age so much and every time they have come to the UK I’ve not gone to see them! Usually because they’re too expensive for me at the time, they don’t play in Birmingham or because I have no one to go with! I’ve been listening to them for years and Josh Homme was one of my first crushes, aww baby Nat’s first ginger crush too (I wouldn’t even put it that way but Dane is a ginge… :P)! The album Era Vulgaris is definitely my favourite and I used to listen to it constantly when it first came out. Again, another album I hold close to my heart.

9) cKy|Tripled Manic State

cKy are one of my favourite bands and also one that I got to check off of my list of bands to see this year! They were amazing live and my 13/14 year old self was in love the whole night, especially when I got to meet Jesse Margera afterwards! But I love this song so much, it’s definitely an album that I ended up listening to loads when I was in college and just dealing with my depression. It was just like a comfort blanket that I would listen to on my way to and from college.

10) Eight Legs|These Grey Days

This is a song that used to be in a binge drinking advert in the UK and as soon as I heard it, I fell in love and took to YouTube to try and find out what it was! Thankfully I discovered it and thanks to the early days of MySpace, I got to download it for free and officially from the bands page! I still have it to this day and I love it still.

11) +44|Chapter XIII

I’m sorry Blink 182 fans, you will hate me BUT I loved +44 and I now love the new Blink 182 stuff and it’s all for one reason… NO MORE FUCKING TOM DELONGE! I’m sorry but he’s the reason I fell out of love with Blink 182 years ago. ๐Ÿ˜› When I was in my last year of school a guy a year above who I was friends with introduced me to +44 WAYYYYY before they even brought their first single out. I fell in love with them and as soon as their album came out, I downloaded it. This album definitely reminds me of when I was really starting to become who I am today. It holds a place deep down in my heart.

12) RushJet1|Son Of Flynn

This is actually part of a chiptune album that came out with LOADS of Daft Punk songs on it and this actually the second album. It’s a huge compilation and this is just one of the artists who features on it. This is by far my favourite song on the second album and is one I listen to repeat if it comes on in the car.

13) Bloodhound Gang|Farting With A Walkman On

I know a lot of people who dislike Bloodhound Gang (because of their stupid lyrics. Fuck it man, I’d prefer that to depressing love songs ALL THE DAMN TIME!), Dane being one of them but they’re one of the bands from my childhood, purely because of The Bad Touch. This song used to come on the dance games back in the day and I remember my one cousin loving it. We called it The Waffle Song because we didn’t know what it was called! Years later, thanks to cKy and Bam Margera I found out who Bloodhound Gang were and it’s been a massive love affair since then. This (AGAIN!) is another band on my bands to see before I die list. Every time they have come to the UK I haven’t been to see them and I regret it so fucking much.

14) Oasis|Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Oasis is another band I was brought up listening to and this was the first album I owned by them and due to that it is definitely my favourite. This in turn is one of my favourite songs on the album and one I have sang to various times, whether I’m upset, happy, or just normal and fine. Of course Noel Gallagher sings, so it sounds lovely. ๐Ÿ˜› Although me and my one brother don’t talk anymore, Oasis and Nirvana both remind me of him and I guess it’s him introducing me to such amazing music that’s shaped me to who I am today…

15) Pharrell|Frontin’ Feat. Jay-Z

Oh man, remember when Pharrell was in N.E.R.D. and they played funk rock? Yeah me too! ๐Ÿ˜› This was when Pharrell really went out and did his own thing and I fell in love with it! The tune was catchy, the singing was chilled and nice and it just worked. Especially for the time when it came out as well! I still love listening to this song today and it’s definitely a classic to listen to during the summer and especially on holiday. Oh and Jay-Z is on it, so it’s got to good, right? ๐Ÿ˜›

WOOHOO that’s all 15, even though I wish it was 50! ๐Ÿ˜› Please go and give the songs above a listen if you haven’t heard them/of them before. If you’ve heard of any of the bands or songs before, please let me know if you like them down below, as well as the artist/band.

I really enjoyed giving this tag a go and I even typed up some of my answers when I was at work as I’d shuffled the iPod on my way to work today to get the last 5 songs! ๐Ÿ˜›

Now it’s my turn to tag people:

See The Universe

kkochsongi

A Geek Girls Guide

Little Pink Duck

Lost In Translation

The Mini Mermaid

Married To The Music

I really hope you enjoyed this tag and until next time, take care all! ๐Ÿ˜€

Artists I Can’t Stop Listening To This Summer

I remember many moons ago and after researching it’s actually been 4 years on Wednesday! Wow! You can read that post here, it’s actually about what albums I was l listening to that summer.

This post is going to be very similar but instead of listening an amount of albums I’ll be listening to it’ll be a mixture of that, singles and all around artists I can’t get enough of this year.

I always ย listen to my music on the way to and from work, but lately I’ve been listening to my music loads, especially when doing blog work.

Considering how long it has been since I last wrote a post like this I think this one is long overdue! I’ll be talking about all sorts of genres here as well… Well I’ll try to anyway! ๐Ÿ˜›

Image taken from weheartit.com

Nirvana –ย Miscellaneous

If there is a band I have always loved it has been Nirvana, BUT I have really fallen in love with them since moving into the house and for a while just binge listened to them. I still find myself doing this now, especially when I finish work for the weekend. I end up blasting these wherever I go! It’s more so Nevermind that I listen to than anything. The start of this album is always one that gets me in the “party” mood without there even being a part in the first place. ๐Ÿ˜›

Image taken from weheartit.com

Rammstein – “Du Hast”

If there is one Rammstein song that I’ll listen to it’ll be this oldie but goldie. This is a song I always go back to when I want a heavy metal song to listen to on ย my way home from work. Me and Dane also have a fond moment from this song a couple of summers ago. We were coming back from the Lake District and stuck in some pretty shitty traffic. A car near us was playing some fugly music (no I shouldn’t judge other peoples music tastes… But I will… :P) and they kept turning it up louder and louder, so I put “Du Hast” on, turned it up loud and watched them turn their shit down. We laughed about it loads afterwards. ๐Ÿ˜›

Image taken from weheartit.com

The Real McKenzies – “Sailor Man”

The reason this song is here is 1. because it’s fucking amazing and 2. because it plays straight after “Du Hast” on my iPod and it work so damn well! You know when you’re out in a club and the DJ just combines and makes two songs flow really well one after the other? Yeah, THAT! I’m my own personal DJ! ๐Ÿ˜› Other than that this song is a cover of Turbonegro’s song and it’s so much better than the original, which in turn makes me happy! It’s thanks to Bam Margera that I discovered this song… As well as a lot of my other music on my iPod. ๐Ÿ˜› That is also one of the reasons why I have Johnny Knoxville dressed as an old man dancing above this. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Metallica – Miscellaneous

I don’t know why but I find myself listening to the small collection of Metallica songs I have on my iPod loads at the moment! A part of me blames my friend Lee as since him and Dane had their jamming session about a month back this is when I started listening to them again. I don’t know what my favourite song by them is, as I love so many! To name three it would have to be “Enter Sandman”, “Whiskey In The Jar” and “The Unforgiven II”. “Enter Sandman” is definitely my favourite of the three however and I love to sing it whenever I have it on. Of course I had to attach the clip from Jimmy Fallon where the guys played it on toy instruments. Such an awesome moment.

Metronomy – “The Look”

This song is kinda old now but one I always love putting on and listening to. It’s a classic summer staple for my playlists in the car and is one I love listening to both to and from work, as well as when I’m out running errands. It’s a very 80’s sounding song to me due to the way the keyboards are played. It’s classed as a mixture of pop and indie and some are calling them indietronica which is a new genre to me. ๐Ÿ˜› Either way I love this song!

Image taken from makeagif.com

Clean Bandit – “Rather Be” Feat. Jess Glynne

This song actually reminds me of winter if anything but it’s one I can listen to whenever really. Sadly sometimes it does just remind me of M&S thanks to the adverts using it for quite a while. This is an old song though to be honest and one although I don’t find myself listening to as much, it’s on a couple of chillout CD’s I keep in my car for if my iPod dies, so I listen to this on car journeys quite a bit.

Image taken from weheartit.com

Ivy & Gold – “Lullaby” The Cure cover

I remember when I was younger not being a fan of The Cure at all and I mostly blame this on being in class with someone who was OBSESSED with them. It kinda put me off. When I worked at Costa though they played The Cure quite a lot and I ended up falling in love with some of their songs, including “Lullaby” and “Close To Me”. As I tend to do, I looked for a cover of some of their songs and found this gem, which I actually like more than the original. It’s by Ivy & Gold who (as far as I’m aware) aren’t that well-known. I started listening to this song again and I forgot just how much I love it. You’ll have to YouTube search it if you want to have a listen yourself.

Image taken from makeagif.com

The Bloodhound Gang – EVERYTHING!!!

Oh man I can’t even talk about this band enough. They’re one of my favourites and for so many fucking reasons. Their latest album is probably my favourite one and it’s the one I find myself listening to the most alongside their greatest hits. Their songs aren’t anything special but the lyrics are so fucking funny and dark and offensive and because of that I love them. Like most the first song I heard from them was “The Bad Touch” and that was through a dancing game my cousin owned. I remember we called it the waffle song… If you don’t get why then you need to go and Google the lyrics RIGHT NOW. One of my favourite songs has to be “Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo” just because it was one of the first songs I REALLY heard knowing who it was actually by. After hearing this song I then discovered who the waffle song was by and what it was actually about. ๐Ÿ˜›

Image taken from deviantart.com

Klaypex – “Chinter’s Will” Feat. Sara Kay

This is an old song on my iPod and one I actually forgot that I had! It’s the kind of song I would edit onto some snowboarding footage as it just sounds like the sort of music Deadmau5 would bring out. The singer Sara Kay who features on the track has a lovely singing voice too! For a drum and bass style song this is somewhat relaxing to listen to.

Image taken from tumblr.com

Knife Party – Mix Tapes

I’ve loved Knife Party since they came out in 2011 and have followed their music since then. If you don’t know WHO they are then do you remember Pendulum? Well it’s them guys but behind a new name and with much better music! Although I love the singles they’ve released, I love their mix tapes more as I love hearing all sorts of music mashed with those singles. I remember when their first mix tape came out from when they played in Miami. It’s still my favourite tape yet! Their mix tapes are perfect to play at parties and when out in the garden. I played loads of Knife Party in 2015 when I went to Fuerteventura and I’m sure I’ll do the same again in a few months..

Image taken from giphy.com

ย Savant –ย Vario

This is an artist and album that Dane introduced me to when we first met and since then it’s definitely an album I listen to throughout the summer months. Again it’ll be one I play when we’re in Fuerteventura. Savant is an electronic artist and his music reminds me of chiptune a little due to the sort of game play sounding elements throughout his songs, onย Varioย anyway! I would love to see him play live as I can just imagine what a buzz everyone would get whilst certain songs play, such as “Splinter”, “Living iPod” and “Burgertime”. I can just imagine these sorts of songs (again!) going really well on snowboarding videos. If you think you’ll like the sound of some of his stuff then go and give him a listen, as his music is amazing. It’s nothing like what is out there right now.

With that I have come to the end of this ย list as otherwise I will go on forever! There are so many of my favourite artists that I didn’t even mention, such as Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless, cKy, Daft Punk, Limp Bizkit, Queens of The Stone Age, Foo Fighters, etc. BUT I don’t think bands like that need mentioning here. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What music do you like listening to throughout the summer? Are there certain artists or genres? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend!

Currently #1

Hello and welcome to my first currently! I love reading these so I thought, “what the hell, it won’t hurt to do my own!” so here it is. I hope you enjoy this, I already can’t wait to do another one!

Watching: Recently I’ve been binge watching Teachers again. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve watching this series, but it’s by far one of my favourites! During my undergraduate study, I watched this religiously whilst writing my dissertation. It was just like watching my friends or family on a home video, or sat in the pub with them. It’s just a very mellow show that you can really get into, and fall in love with the characters.

Playing: Since Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer coming out I haven’t stopped playing it! It’s just so addictive and relaxing to play that after a day at work I like to just come home, snuggle into bed with a hot drink and play this until I need to leave my bed to pee or eat. That sounds grosser than it actually is!

Listening: I’ve been listening to Bloodhound Gang LOADS lately and I don’t even know why! I’ve always loved this band but lately I’ve just fallen in love with them more than ever before. I need to get more of their albums soon. I’ve been on the hunt for some more for the past few weeks, but I’ve not really had much luck on that… Doh! I’ve also been playing No Devotions new and first album Permanence. It’s a very nice album for autumn and a relaxing one at that. It’s nice to listen to on the way to work in the morning.

Eating: I haven’t really eaten anything different lately… If anything I’ve been binging on crisps… Not good! Mostly Quavers, and Marmite Walkers crisps. I love Marmite so much… Actually, if I’ve been loving a food this month, it’s Marmite on toast. Can’t go wrong! I’ve also been drinking quite a bit of Lucozade Pink Lemonade at the moment, mostly due to my pole fitness. It helps me during my classes. As well as that I’ve been drinking lots of Ribena too. Yummy!

Wearing: With me officially finishing uni at the start of September my boyfriend finally gave me my Adventure Time Dr Martens boots (can read about those here) and they’re all I’ve been wearing. It has been tough to be honest as everyone who has ever owned a pair of Dr Martens will know how painful they are to break in and trust me mine are proving painful, especially on my one little toe. Ouch! With a big pair of Dr Martens socks, and plenty of plasters they’re now starting to break a little more. I can’t wait for them to be perfect so I can rock them all autumn and winter!

Wanting: I’m really lusting after some Snow Fairy from Lush at the moment. I’m running low on shower gel so it’s an excuse to buy this gorgeous smelling pink stuff. Alongside that I can’t wait for the 101 Dalmatians Vans to be released so I can pick up a pair in time for my holiday. I’ll rock them alongside my Dr Martens! I also want Christmas to hurry up and arrive, as well as pay day so I can start my Christmas shopping. I’ve eyed up loads of gift ideas for my boyfriend now, and I just need the money for them!

What things are you currently into? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I’ll see you soon.

Soundtrack To My Life Tag!

I love a good tag and one to do with music is always a must! I’ve been so busy doing university work the past two weeks, that instead of finishing off one of my assignments, I’m doing this tag instead!

This was created by Lily Melrose and Zoe LDN, who I both love! So I knew I had to give this a go myself.

I have my iPod at the ready, as well as the tag questions, so let’s go!

1. Song that you listen to when you’re happy?

Living iPod – Savant.

I recently discovered this song, thanks to my boyfriend and quite frankly I love it. It’s chiptune, which I associate with being happy and such anyway. The song is said to have featured on quite a few videos on YouTube, which wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve recently downloaded Savant’s Vario album, which this song is from and I highly recommend it if you like chiptune, electronica, or even drum and bass, as I think you’ll love this.

2. Song that you listen to when you’re sad?

I Know It Hurts – Alter Bridge.

I’ve been listening to this song for years and whenever I feel really down this is usually a song I’ll stick on, as the lyrics are really good for that pick up needed when you feel that sad. Plus it’s Alter Bridge, they’re amazing! I can’t even chose a favourite lyric or two from this song (trust me, I just tried to!) as all the lyrics just serve a really strong message. If you ever feel down seriously check this song out.

3. What song will you have at your wedding?

Horse Outside – The Rubberbandits.

I won’t lie, I never think of things like this. All I think about for my possible future wedding is what food will be served and how I’ll have a DJ playing good music, instead of the rubbish that most weddings have. However after looking through my iPod for a possible song, I found one. Me and my boyfriend LOVE The Rubberbandits and this is the first song my boyfriend heard, thanks to me of course. This being said, this is also the first song I heard by The Rubberbandits. This is just such a fun song and due to the lyrics sung in the song I think this would be very apt if we were to get married.

4. What song do you dance around your house to?

PonPonPon – Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

This song is amazing. I’m surprised I didn’t pick it for the song that makes me happy! Whenever I put this on I just want to dance around my room, and more often than not I do. I sing loudly in Japanese (badly may I add!) and just enjoy myself. I remember finding out what the song meant in English and it was pretty cool and funny. The music video for this song is really weird though. But even so, an amazing song and I would like to check out more music by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

5. Song you play in your earphones when out and about?

Animals – Maroon 5.

I have quite a few but I settled on this one because I’ve found myself listening to V a lot since it came out. I really do like this song and it’s good to listen to whilst driving and when I travel to university as well. This is my favourite track on the album and as much as people hate it and have moaned about it, I love the music video too.

6. Song you listen to when you’re angry?

Break Stuff – Limp Bizkit.

An old classic and one I have always listened to when I’m pissed off. I doubt it’ll ever be replaced, I love my old skool Limp Bizkit too. This is also a song I considered for number 8. as quite frankly I used to lose my mind when this came on and I was out clubbing. I once started a mini mosh pit in a club because of this song too… Luckily it didn’t last that long!

7. Song you’d have at your funeral?

Yellow – Coldplay.

I don’t know why I would have this song, but it’s a really nice song and it isn’t really morbid. I wouldn’t want anything morbid at my funeral, I would want songs people could sing along to and think “Oh Nat loved this song!” You know? I’ve loved this song for years and it cheers me up to listen to. But personally I wouldn’t know which song to have at my funeral, as I doubt very much I would be able to pick one.

8. Song that makes you lose your shit at a party?

The Bad Touch – Bloodhound Gang.

I LOVE this song, love, love, love this song. I have done for years and I think I always will. Whenever this used to come on whilst I was out clubbing I literally screamed the lyrics until my voice had gone. As well as that I mimed whatever the lyrics were, complete saddo eh? I never sat down whilst this song was on, even if it meant dancing on my own. Listening to it now whilst I write this is making me want to have a little dance.

9. The last song you listened to?

IDGAF – Watsky.

This is a recently discovered song after checking out Watsky’s YouTube channel, even though it’s an old song. My boyfriend got me into Watsky when we first got together and since then I have enjoyed listening to his music. He’s a rapper but he’s just different, but he’s a really fast rapper too which is pretty awesome. I really like this song, it’s catchy and the lyrics are funny as well.

10. Your karaoke song?

White N Nerdy – “Weird Al” Yankovic.

This songs makes me laugh so much and it’s an odd choice of song to have for karaoke, but hear me out. Without the words I can’t sing this song, but with them I CAN! And karaoke’s have the words there on screen for you right? So this would have to be the song to sing. I’m such a show off that I can rap it, but whatever, it took me ages to perfect! Now if you excuse me… Must go and sing it. ๐Ÿ˜›

11. Song you work out to?

Call On Me – Eric Prydz.

Shit song, I know but I actually quite like it. Besides, when I used to work out, it was usually to this song so. It does get the blood pumping and body moving so I can’t complain. Must clarify that I don’t dress up like the women do in the music video. FYI as stupid as the women may look in the video, the work out they’re doing is hard! You feel the burn!

12. Song with the most memories attached?

Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt – We Are Scientists.

Soon as I saw this question I KNEW which song I had to pick! These guys played at Godiva Festival in Coventry this year, which me and my friend Poppy went to. We legged it over to the stage as soon as this song came on and we were both singing it loudly as we ran over, and sang and danced loads whilst we were by the stage too! Whenever I listen to the song it just takes me back to that day now and it was probably the best part of that festival to be honest.

13. Song that makes you cry?

She’s The One – Robbie Williams.

This was a really hard one to pick, as whilst I do cry at a lot of songs, it’s usually set off by being upset in the first place. I chose this song because this was the song my Mom and I chose to be played at my Gran’s funeral. I can’t really listen to it now without welling up a little bit and it never did that until we decided to have it for the funeral. The lyrics aren’t about losing someone to death, but they are about losing someone you cared about.

14. Song you hate the most?

Let It Go – Disney’s Frozen.

I refuse to actually put a song on here I hate, so I’ll put one that I love to hate and that has to be Let It Go as I can’t stop bloody singing it, but I love it regardless! I’m always singing it as soon as the terms let, it, or go are spoken of. I wonder when the Frozen songs will die… Soon… Soon…

15. Your favourite song of all time?
Du Hast – Rammstein & Sailor Man by The Real McKenzies.

I wouldn’t say that these two songs are my favourite of all time, but I know if I’m really in the mood for two good songs, I’ll listen to these two. These are actually in a playlist next to each other on my iPod and whilst it was accidental when they were first put onto it, they’re now in their order on purpose. You see these two songs work perfectly beside one another. If you play Du Hast first and then Sailor Man afterwards, they just work so well. I feel like a mini DJ when I play them both and that alone makes me happy! Both songs I first heard thanks to Bam Margera, so it makes me laugh that they both blend well together.

So that was the soundtrack to my life! I have to say that was really fun to do, although I wish there had been more questions, as I had so many more songs I would have loved to mention.

Will you be taking part in this tag? I hope so because I’m going to pass the tag on and ask people to join in with it. If you do decide to give it a go, drop a comment down below saying you’ve done it so I can go and read.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all ready for Christmas tomorrow.
