5th Anniversary

Yesterday was mine and Dane’s 5th anniversary and honestly, I don’t know where those 5 years have gone.

I know I’ve given you all the sop before but I just wanted to write about us here, because it’s nice and stuffs. 😛

We both met through POF (Plenty of Fish), which for those of you who live under a rock and don’t know, it’s a dating site. I remember an old friend telling me how she’d met guys through the website and had gotten loads of dates (even though she never went on any…) with guys.

A couple of months later in jest I was talking to my friend Jacqui about the website, and suggested we both give it a go. We set our profiles up and before we knew it we were ready to meet some guys! Urgh they were either grim, clingey and professing their love or just after a quick shag.

Then Dane messaged me, he was sweet and we had quite a lot in common. I remember my first comments were, “He’s ginger!” and “He’s from Coventry… Is that far from here?”

We spoke for a week via the website and then moved to texting as it was easier. Before long we were arranging out first date and met in Birmingham for drinks. From then on it was just date, date, date! We went to Milton Keynes a couple of days later for a second date and then after that a week later we met up for a shopping trip in Birmingham.

It must have been almost a month before and Dane decided to become a couple during a gig. It was lovely to be honest and was nice to wait a little before jumping it. I think we both knew though that we liked each other and wanted to make it work.

6 months later on my birthday we said those 3 little words and since then we’ve just been so in love and all that soppy shit!

For our first year together we went to Bristol for a long weekend. I loved it so much and it’s a city I have always wanted to visit again, but sadly just never have… Not for any real reasons why either to be honest with you.

That is until our fifth anniversary where we decided to head to Chedder Gorge for a couple of days before the weekend, which also involved a trip to Bristol, as well as a trip to Weston Super Mare.

Before I go into what we got up to, we gave each other our anniversary presents early as sadly we both knew what we’d bought one another. As we always do at Christmas, birthday’s and especially anniversary, we always gift each other a Nendoroid (or two!).

Kakashi Hatake on the left, Nana Ebina on the right.

Dane has recently started to collect the Naruto Nendoroids so it’s lovely that I could help towards that by buying him Kakashi Hatake.

Himouto! Umaru-chan is one of my favourite anime series! Dane bought me Umaru for Christmas in 2015. It’s lovely how nearly 3 years later I can now have her teamed up with Nana Ebina! 😀

I love the Nana Ebina Nendoroid so much! I especially love the little cat body pillow she comes with, which is unbelievably soft!

This year I bought Dane Kakashi Hatake from Naruto and Dane bought me Nana Ebina from Himouto! Umaru-chan.

Sadly I didn’t manage to get a picture of Kakashi Hatake in his box, Dane got him out as soon as he received him and was playing around with his positions, etc. So I decided to show pictures of them in our Nendoroid cabinet instead! I hope you like them! We always try and make our Nendoroids look as happy and “realistic” as possible, all whilst looking cute!

The week before me and Dane broke up from work for our week off together, he booked us a 2 night stay in Webbington at a hotel and spa. It wasn’t a surprise but due to how busy I was at work the day he was booking it I didn’t realise until I got home that he had booked it!

We had originally planned to go to the Lake District and Scotland for a long weekend, but ended up cancelling that due to money. So after I suggested going to Bristol for a long weekend Dane found somewhere a drive away from Bristol and everywhere else we wanted to go.

I was a mixture of excited and nervous. Since leaving my old job I am always conscious and worried about money now so the thought of going away did worry me… Only because of money though!

The hotel didn’t cost us a lot due to Dane’s nights he’d saved up with Hotels.com, so in total we only paid £55 altogether for the 2 nights!

I hadn’t worn my Lumpy Space Princess Black Milk Clothing dress for the longest time, so I decided to team it up with my rainbow cardigan (which you can read about here) as well as my new Eevee doughnut pin badge from Ohayou! Clothing’s Patreon (which I’ve linked here). I felt so kawaii and cute! 😀 Sadly/thankfully I got zero comments on my outfit, which made me a tad sad considering.

Before going to the hotel though, we decided to stop off in Bristol first for a look around the shops and for some lunch. To think we went into Bristol to buy stuff we couldn’t get at home, but alas we ventured into Primark and as sad as it sounds I loved the Bristol Primark! It’s the biggest one I’ve been into to date and as it’s space out over 4 floors, there’s so much room to look around everything and not feel claustrophobic. Dane bought himself some gym/running gear, I grabbed a swimming costumes for the pool at the spa, as well as a pair of mustard yellow joggers (which make me look like the main character from Kill Bill!) and a Lady and The Tramp nightshirt, which I am BEYOND excited to wear!

Before that however we popped to Three Brothers Burgers for lunch. We discovered it the first time we went to Bristol for our first anniversary and we fell in love with the place. I’d talk loads about it here but I want to write A WHOLE REVIEW on the place on a separate blog post! For now I’ll link their website here so you can take a peek for yourselves.

I am so happy that we went to Bristol for the afternoon for various reasons, the main one being how much it reminded us of our first year together and how we celebrated it there. Bristol will always have a huge place in my heart due to that. Not only that, but it made me and Dane realise how Bristol isn’t THAT far away from Birmingham and we’ve already decided that we will go there more for days out. We’re already planning to go there for the second instalment of Gromit Unleashed with some friends!

After we’d had enough we headed to our hotel, which was gorgeous but kind of in the middle of nowhere. We had expected a village within walking distance so we could walk to a local pub for drinks, but sadly this wasn’t the case. The hotel did have a bar, but it just wasn’t what we were expecting. The spa in there was also lovely, but with how tired we were after each day we didn’t want to use it, which again is such a shame as that was the sole purpose for booking this one in the first place. But if you wanted to go in the pool and then to the steam room and sauna, you needed to walk through the gym to get from one to the other and you’d have to dry off beforehand. It didn’t make sense. Plus when we were having a guided tour I felt awkward standing in front of the sauna and steam room with half naked men sat staring at me.

So yeah, big no no! We also contemplated booking massages each, but these cost between £25-£50 and whilst I probably spent that money shopping today, I didn’t feel like wasting it on a massage. I also didn’t know whether you had to call the lady to book to do it, or go to the hotel desk and they’d sort it. I’ll just look at my local college for some cheap beauty treatments soon.

Thursday evening we were shattered and fell to sleep relatively early, ready for an early start the next day!

We got up bright and early, got washed and dressed and headed out for breakfast before going to Cheddar Gorge to explore the caves, as well as the village. I dressed in my gorgeous Midnight Owl dress by Black Milk Clothing. I love this dress so much and since buying it I’ve already worn it loads.

It didn’t take long for us to drive to Cheddar and walk through Cheddar Gorge! I’d never really heard about it before and it was all Dane’s idea to go! I was somewhat anxious walking through the caves, but I put this down to my anxiety and claustrophobia. I was okay though and I actually really enjoyed being able to see inside the caves and how they’ve formed over thousands of years!

Afterwards we popped around the museum over the road and walked up hundreds of steps, only to be left feeling shattered and achey! We deserved an afternoon cream tea. 😛 Well, Dane did! I shared half of the plain scone he had with my cup of coffee. The picture isn’t showing it, but it was such a gorgeous and sunny afternoon! Soon after we had a mooch around the shops, which also included buying a slush puppy, we walked back to the car and headed to our next destination, Wookey Hole!

It didn’t take long to head over to Wookey Hole and I’d never been before, or even heard of it! It was nice to see Dane talk to fondly of it from when he visited it with his family as a child. It was incredibly sweet and I can understand why from my own experience.

Wookey Hole was different than I thought it was going to be. It wasn’t as open as Cheddar Gorge was and due to that my anxiety was quite bad at some parts of the the tour. We went around a dozen, if not more caves and to get through from some to others you had to duck right down to get under, this in itself scared me a little bit, but when you got across the other side and saw the whole cave, it was amazing! There was one area where you had to walk across metal bridges (safe by the way!) to get through one cave to the next. This is where I was incredibly anxious and urgh, when you’re surrounded by people and you feel like that it can really suck! If you’re claustrophobic then Wookey Hole might not be for you, but looking back it wasn’t as bad as it seemed.

Sadly we never took any pictures but near the gift shop there were LOADS of old games and arcade machines, which even included some rude photo viewers. Me and Dane had a go at the one for shits and giggles and it was pretty funny! It was only a woman taking off her clothes, as in she’s just got in from a busy day out and she wants that bra off! 😛 You know that feeling ladies. Anyway, it was such a laugh either way and we really enjoyed looking around all the old arcade machines. We also had a go at doing the mirror maze together, as well as looking at our funny reflections in the fun house mirrors. I haven’t seen them for the longest time, probably not for a good 18 years now!

After Wookey Hole we did contemplate going home to freshen up and then head to Weston-super-mare but we just ended up heading straight there, which was a good thing because we hit SO MUCH TRAFFIC and we were pretty hungry too. We’d planned to head to the beach for some fish and chips, get an ice cream and maybe play on some arcades. The only things that happened were the first two.

We walked around for ages as I couldn’t believe that the beach was pretty much all Weston had to offer and that looked rubbish as it wasn’t the best weather. We eventually grabbed something to eat, which was lovely but I was constantly on edge that a seagull may steal my dinner! We didn’t have an issue thankfully, but a family near us certainly did! We don’t quite know what happened but at one point the family had left a full pack of chips on the wall and the seagulls were literally all attacking at it for what was inside! All you could hear was the father shouting, “GRAB IT! QUICKLY! COME ON HURRY UP!” Me and Dane sat there giggling our heads off!

We sat for a while on the beach after we’d eaten out food and just chilled. We sadly didn’t take any pictures whilst in Weston and I’m glad as it was crap there. It looked so miserable and yeah. I was gutted in all honesty about going there as it wasn’t what I remembered it to be when I was a kid. It reminded me of a shitty holiday area for British tourists. It did however inspire me to write a teen novel again, which I’ll get around to at some point.

Eventually we moved on from the beach and went in search of ice cream! For a £1 I had the best ice cream ever in Weston and it took me aggggges to finish it! Just the thought of it is making me want another one. 😛

After we’d eaten our ice creams it was time to head back to the hotel. We’d seen enough of Weston to last us a life time. The only thing that I’d go back for is if there was a special event on there… Probably one involving loads of food. 😛

That evening we just chilled out together watching YouTube videos. We had planned to go for a swim together but we were both far too tired for that. Plus we wanted to be up nice and early to check out and go for breakfast.

Dane had researched where we could go for breakfast in Cribbs Causeway and he discovered they had a Frankie & Benny’s. The plan was made and we went to sleep.

The next morning we did indeed get up bright and early and got ready to leave. It was quite sad leaving as whilst I wasn’t a massive fan of the spa facilities anyway, I was gutted that we hadn’t taken advantage of them. The hotel was lovely but the walls were also pretty thin. On the Friday night we could hear every word of the people’s television next to us. We could also hear people walking outside of our room and most of the floorboards creaked around the hotel. This being said, our room was gorgeous and we actually had the best one in the hotel, aka the supreme suite! I felt special knowing that to be honest with you. We also had the best shower in the world, a waterfall shower or whatever they’re called! I was anxious to use it at first as I didn’t want to get my hair wet, but now I want to get one myself! Me and Dane have added it to our, “perfect bathroom” wish list! 😛

I decided to wear a Lady and The Tramp sweater I’d recently bought from Depop, (which you will see on a future post VERY soon!) with my new yellow joggers from Primark. I was super comfortable but my only flaw with the joggers are that there’s no pockets in them. Very sad times. Not going to lie, I actually love the second picture of me as a potential new profile picture for on here! Let me know what you think. 😉

We headed to Cribbs Causeway but we’ve only been once and the place is HUGE! It reminds me of a shopping mall by me but I feel like this place is just way bigger. Due to getting “lost” amongst all the shops we didn’t go to Frankie & Bennys, because we couldn’t find it! It would have meant driving all the way there, to drive all the way back and it just wasn’t worth it, sadly.

Instead we went to Patisserie Valerie for breakfast and it was so lovely! Dane had pancakes with fruit and I have scrambled egg, salmon and toast. It was amazing and kept us both full up until past dinner time.

We ventured around the shops for a while and I knew the one place I wanted to head into was the Gromit Unleashed shop. I knew I wanted to pick something up from here as we never did 4 years previous when we’d ventured there. Now me and Dane own our own home we’ve become that type of couple where tea towels become pretty good souvenirs! I was also going to pick up a pen and a notebook, but I have plenty of those already. This pink tea towel doesn’t really match our red, white and black kitchen but who gives a fuck! You have a live a little. 😛 This was pretty decent in price so I’m glad I picked it up. It’s now washed and as soon as it’s dry, it’ll be in my kitchen and ready to use!

The next shop we ventured into was Cath Kidston. Over the past year I’ve really fallen in love with the store and their cute and vintage inspired designs. What caused me to fall in love with them was their Disney 101 Dalmatians collection which I bought a notebook from… I regret not buying more!

Since then I haven’t bought anything else from there, until today! I only went in for a nose in case they had any 101 Dalmatians goodies left, or even any cute guinea pigs items from the Pets Party collection. I discovered something even better, fox designs from their recent Park Wildlife collection!

It was Dane who noticed all the cute fox stuff I picked up from the store! It started with a pillow he spotted, which sadly I didn’t buy and slightly regret it… I’m going to keep my eye on it on the website!

I’ve been in need of a trinket dish for the past 6 months now and although I’ve ummed and ahhed at many, I’ve never picked one up because it didn’t say me! I nearly bought one yesterday when I was in Wookey Hole because it was an awesome Pingu one.

If I had of picked it up, I wouldn’t have this awesome little fox one, which is definitely more me! It fits all my jewellery perfectly and also looks adorable whilst doing so.

Finally and Dane noticed it when I was waiting by the till, but it’s this gorgeous tray with all the wildlife animals on it, especially that cute little fox. This is for our living room table to keep things organised on it. At the moment we have our sippy cup on it, television and soundbar remotes and our Xbox One and PS4 controllers. I also suggested how we can also use it for mornings when someone makes morning coffee. It’s very sturdy and I am so glad I bought this!

After we’d had enough of looking around the shops we decided it was finally time to head home.

Although I had a lovely couple of relaxing and adventurous days with Dane, I was so glad to be back home and just relax and chill.

We spent the evening doing our own thing, me doing some blog work and Dane playing some games. We cuddled and relaxed together this evening whilst E3 2018 kicked off with EA and we had some dinner.

We both had such a lovely time together celebrating out fifth anniversary and if anything it’s taught us a few things…

  • We still want a puppy/dog to take with us for adventures.
  • We love Bristol STILL and can’t wait to go there again for both days out AND Gromit Unleashed 2.
  • Three Brothers Burgers are still the best.
  • Weston is a shit hole, but the food is spot on.
  • Next time we book a spa hotel, we MEAN WE WANT A SPA HOTEL.
  • And finally, we really want a waterfall shower.

I apologise that there aren’t any pictures of me and Dane in this post, I want to keep those private for us two. We don’t really take pictures together much another so the couple of gems that we took I want for just me and Dane.

I hope everyone has had a great week though and especially a great start to the weekend! I’m back at work on Monday and whilst I’ll miss lazy mornings in bed and days spent sat in my bed playing games and writing blog posts, I will be glad to be back at work!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekends.

Tartan, Hearts & Dr Martens – What I Wore (8th June 2014)

Wow I haven’t done a What I Wore post since October 2013, so almost a year ago! I’ve wanted to write-up one for ages but I either took awful pictures or I just never got around to getting any pictures taken.

Finally during mine and my boyfriends long weekend away in Bristol, we got pictures taken of two different outfits, but in the end the pictures for this outfit looked the best and plus the fact that the day we took these was our anniversary, just makes this post that little nicer (and soppier!).

To warn you this post is somewhat Dr Martens heavy seeing as two of the items I wore were from Dr Martens, one being the dress my boyfriend bought me as one of my anniversary presents (post about that here) and my boots which I bought myself previous to going away to Bristol.

Photo 08-06-2014 01 19 02 pm

Sunglasses – Ray Ban Wayfarers.

Lipstick – MAC’s Rebel (review here).

Tartan dress – Dr Martens.

Bracelet – Pandora.

Heart print tights – New Look.

Boots – Dr Martens 1460’s.

Green laces – Dr Martens.

Paper Plan satchel (in other pictures) – Disaster Designs (post about it here).

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy wearing this outfit as I loved it so damn much and for the duration  of our time in Bristol I pretty much lived in my Dr Martens boots, which I bought and received just before going to Bristol.

I mentioned on my wish list post in May how I wanted another pair of Dr Martens to wear during the spring and summer months when the weather is a little warmer and at the end of May I finally found these babies!

I decided that I couldn’t justify spending up to £100.00 on a new pair of the boots to end up crippling myself with blisters and cuts all over my feet and decided to go to eBay (oh how I love thee!) in search of a pair of second-hand boots in my size. I came across these patent leather 1460’s for the low starting price of £20.00 and at the last couple of seconds bid and won! Including my postage all these cost me was £27.00, can’t argue with that can you?

These did infact come with black laces mind but I decided to buy myself a new pair of black laces from the Dr Martens shop in Birmingham, as well as a green pair, which I now have on  my boots. The girl in the store told me how the green laces are new to the stores and that they’d proven popular so I decided to pick up a pair, I like the colour green!

Since buying my Disaster Designs back in February it’s been my go to handbag and I love it so much! It’s very roomy and hugs beautifully to the body whilst walking around and such and as the buckles do up quite tight I do feel quite safe when using it out and about. I picked this up on eBay too for I think around £30, including delivery which I thought was a good buy seeing as I use it so much now!

As you can see from the print on my Dr Martens dress it is a gorgeous green tartan, which is ideally more for the autumn and winter months but as someone who wears dark clothes all year round, I’d wear this throughout the year without any worries! The dress itself isn’t super short and isn’t super long, but longer than most of my dresses which is what I’ve been after lately, so I’m really happy with it.

I love my Dr Martens dress so much! It’s a gorgeous soft tartan dress that I know I’m going to wear lots throughout the year, especially teamed up with my Dr Martens boots, both these and my Dr Martens Triumph boots.

As I’ve mentioned this was one of my anniversary presents from my boyfriend, which he bought for me whilst we were down in Bristol and I love it so damn much! I saw this in the Dr Martens store down there and fell in love when I saw it, but sadly I didn’t fall in love with the price tag as whilst I was having a shopping day the day I saw this, it wasn’t going to THAT much of a shopping day. My boyfriend insisted I try this on and I’m so damn glad as I love it so much now. He bought it for me after we walked around Cabot Circus (shopping centre in Bristol town centre) and I’m so pleased with it now!

Clothes wise I intend to team this up with a lot of things for various different looks, although I think the look I’ll always gain with this will be very grunge looking. I can wear this with my Dr Martens boots, brothel creepers and my flats, as well as with a nice little studded biker jacket in the warmer weather and for nights out and as I discovered in Bristol in the colder weather I can wear this with my huge parka and look very much like an 80’s mod/skin head, minus the shaved head and tattoos.

In the Dr Martens store in Bristol they had one of their other tartan dresses (dark blue) on a mannequin with a studded belt around the middle and it looked awesome! Very grunge and rocky and I loved it, however said belt was £45 and as much as I loved it I couldn’t justify paying that money, however I have got it in mind as a very expensive treat to myself in the future, as I really do need a new belt.

On 8th June 2013 me and my boyfriend finally decided to make ourselves official and today we’ve now been together a year and two weeks.

I really want to bring the five days back that we spent in Bristol because I miss them so much, and the place even more! Bristol was such a lovely place for someone as creative as myself to go and visit and in five days I didn’t feel like I got to experience Bristol half as much as I really wanted to, so I know later on in the summer and even in the winter I plan to go back for another weekend.

For our anniversary my boyfriend and I walked around Bristol for a while and ventured to the harbour to go to Bristol Aquarium, which I really enjoyed! We took loads of photos and spent a good hour or two in there. After that we walked around some parts of the town centre for a while and ventured to one of the museums for a look around and a sit down. The weather was very hit and miss that day with dry patches and then buckets of rain! After a while we ventured back to our hotel to freshen up, have a rest and then we went out for a meal at Za Za Bazaar, which is an all you can eat buffet with loads of different types of food to choose from! It was lovely to say the least and we made sure to fill ourselves up.

In the evening we had a lovely slow walk back up to our hotel where we had a relaxing bath each with the Lush products I bought us both and went to sleep.

I had such an amazing day and I want to thank my boyfriend for putting up with me so much over the year we’ve been together. 😛

Now onto the soppyness!

Dane, every moment that I get to spend with you in my life is something that every young girl dreams to have when they get older with the person they fall in love with, you are a dream come true to me.

Thank you for who you are, what you have given me and I know will continue to give me and for being able to put up with me when I’m at the lowest of low.

You are the light in my life when everything is dark, you save me when I feel like I am going under and you don’t even have to do that much.

I hope and pray that we get to spend the rest of our lives together, because I really do think  I have found my soul mate and the person I am destined to be with for the rest of my life.

I can never find a perfect poem, film, story, a song or even put into my words how much I love you but I love you so much and I will forever.

Thank you for such an amazing time in Bristol and here is to many more years together. 🙂

I can’t wait to make a post now about what me and my boyfriend actually got up to in Bristol! But I want it to be a perfect post so it may take a while, but stay tuned!

So, that is the end of this What I Wore post, what did you think of it?

If you have any questions about what I wore please feel free to ask them in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you’ve all had a great week.

Bristol Haul & Anniversary Presents (WARNING PHOTO HEAVY!)

DSC_0002

It’s here, my Bristol haul post! I won’t lie, I’ve actually been super excited to make this post because I just love all the things that I bought, or received from my boyfriend whilst we were in Bristol.

I spent quite a bit of money whilst there, which in turn has left me poor and with quite a lot less savings, this makes me very sad. It just means I’ll need to go on a spending ban again and be super good!

So without anymore delays, I want to start my exciting post!

DSC_0003

DSC_0004

As you can see from the pictures above I bought a mixture of clothing, beauty pieces, and some random items. I’m not going to talk about anything in any certain order, however I am leaving my anniversary presents until last as they’re special. ^_^

I wanted to get this dress mentioned out-of-the-way as I actually didn’t buy this whilst I was in Bristol. I did however order it just before I left for Bristol and it arrived whilst I was away. I came home to it on Monday and tried it on and it’s absolutely gorgeous! It’s by AX Paris and has this gorgeous daisy print on it, as well as a white-collar and some white cuffed sleeves. I’ve seen daisy print dresses everywhere at the moment and saw this one weeks ago in Coventry in New Look, sadly though they only had a size 6, which is way too small for me so I had to leave it behind. However upon going in USC last Tuesday with my best friend I saw one similar to this and wanted to look for it again on the website to order, BUT I found this one on their website in the sale for £18.00! Complete bargain seeing as it was £25.00 and as I was after some more spring and summer dresses, I think I’m onto a winner here for the fact that I can also wear this during the autumn and winter too! I am a tad pissed off mind that this is now £12.50… Not at all pleased but whatever, nothing I can do now.

This was a random purchase whilst on the way to Bristol. We popped into Morrisons to pick up some travel snacks and drinks, as well as a few other bits and pieces for our long weekend away, which included a body lotion for myself. I didn’t want to pack anything heavy, as there was meant to be lovely weather (which there was!) and I didn’t have a light body lotion to take with me either. This is a gorgeous body lotion, it’s very light which means it will sink straight into the skin and when I bought this it was less than £2.00! Complete bargain and since Bristol I’ve been using it at home too as it’s just lovely and light to apply before I head to work or out and about.

We decided to have a day of shopping, which resulted in being done on Saturday and a little bit on Sunday and Monday, but mostly Saturday and after then I think we were pretty skint!

These were the things that I picked up on Saturday!

I’ve been after a water tumblr for quite a while now and whilst on the way home from the Lake District last month I had a look in the Starbucks in one of the motorway service stations we visited on the way home. These were priced at over £11 EACH and I couldn’t believe they were so expensive! So of course I left it and ventured to eBay and shops such as Primark, Clinton Cards, etc to see if I could find one, but everywhere  I went no one had one and if they did they were crazy prices or look terrible quality for the price tag. Whilst my boyfriend and I were in Starbucks in Bristol’s city centre getting our morning refreshments I noticed that they had some of the plastic tumblrs and I asked how much they were, this cost me £8.95! Not cheap but it’s what I wanted and as you can see in the images, I’m using it! I’m currently drinking some lemon water out of this bad boy and loving it! Now I didn’t know this until now BUT you can buy these from Starbucks website for I think a pound more than what you would pay for in the store, but don’t quote me! I love this so much, going to use it loads.

As regular readers will know, I was after this perfume all last month and my Mom was lovely enough to give me some money for my holiday to which I said, “Thanks Mom, I’m going to buy a new perfume with this!” and I kept my word! As you can see I picked up this Marc Jacobs perfume, Oh Lola and I love it so much. I love the Marc Jacobs scents anyway but this is one of my favourites by him due to its light floral scent. Can I also mention how gorgeous the bottle is??? This is by far a pleasure to now have in my perfume collection and out of them all, this one definitely stands out the most. This was meant to be £36.50 but I only paid £31.50 due to wonderful 15% off code that I had to use! I was so chuffed with this purchase due to the huge saving. I only picked up a 30ml bottle, so I’m going to make sure to save it for best occasions.

These polishes were an absolute bargain that I snapped them up with both hands as soon as I eyed them up in TK Maxx. £9.99… What a bargain!!! I’d been lusting after these polishes for ages and had contemplated picking them up for a while in my local Sally Beauty for a while but am I glad I didn’t now. I noticed a lady clutching onto these in TK Maxx and eyed up the beauty section closer to try and see if there was another box left and clearly, there was! I love TK Maxx for their bargains and no one beats them when it comes to nail polishes. The shades left to right are, Miss Piggy’s Big Number, I Love Applause, Kermit Me To Speak and Chillin’ Like a Villain. I wore Kermit Me To Speak on all my nails apart from my left ring finger which I painted with Miss Piggy’s Big Number and these were put on as soon as we got back from the hotel from shopping! I can’t wait to try the other two shades this weekend coming, I’m rather excited!

If you aren’t aware of what the Bean Boozled beans by Jelly Beans are all about, then where have you been hiding? Under a rock!? These are joke beans that are going around the internet, especially YouTube like wild-fire. Basically there are two beans that look the same but one will be a lovely flavour, whilst the other is vile and due to them all looking alike, you won’t know which flavour of the two you’ll get. There are some weird and disgusting flavours in here and I originally bought 2 packets of these from Hawkins Bazaar but my boyfriend and I tried a packet out on Monday when we got back home from Bristol and whilst it was vile to try most of the flavours, it was also fun to try… But it’s safe to say I wouldn’t do it again! These were only £3, so if you’d like to give the Bean Boozled challenge a go, I say go for it! My boyfriend and I recorded us trying these, whether or not it will ever appear on my blog, I don’t know… But if it does I’ll soon link it here. 😉

Although we didn’t mean to go shopping on Sunday, we did pop to one or two shops whilst we were out, but Sunday was mostly a day of relaxation as it was the day we celebrated our anniversary and wanted to just go to Bristol Aquarium, have some couple time and then we went out for a meal in the evening. BUT I will be talking about what we did in Bristol, where we went and why we’ll be going back in a separate post!

Before we headed to the Bristol Aquarium we popped into a shop called Colab that caught our eyes on the Friday when we cut through the town to walk down to the harbor and we fell in love with the clothing they sold in there. They sold nothing but independent art prints, t-shirts, records, prints and many more which is something my boyfriend and I love! We had looked in there on the Friday but wanted to wait to buy anything and with that we popped back in on Sunday to possibly buy something. We both picked up t-shirt, my boyfriend picked up a white one with some samurai’s on it and I picked up this cute fox t-shirt by Boodle. As regular readers will know, I LOVE foxes and it’s somewhat unhealthy! I don’t think I own any t-shirts with foxes on so when I spotted this I fell in love. It’s a gorgeous dark green t-shirt with a wood scene on it with some foxes camping all sat around a fire and with a little teepee by them. I was so glad this was available for women or I may have cried! They had another fox t-shirt that I liked the look of but they only had that available for men, as well as in an amazing sweater form which I wanted but I didn’t want to pick it up at the time. This t-shirt was only £18.00 and I wore it on Monday when my boyfriend and I made our way home from Bristol and it was so comfortable! I can see me living in this t-shirt.

On the Sunday for our anniversary treat out we went to Bristol Aquarium as we love animals so we’re suckers for things like that. The aquarium was lovely, but I’ll talk more about that in another post! Whilst we were there I decided to pick up a quirky bracelet, which is this gorgeous leather bracelet with a cute little sea-horse on it. It was just over £2.00 which I thought was a decent price. As well as that I picked up a photo holder, which as you can see I’ve used to hold some pictures of me and my boyfriend. There were loads of photo booths there that you’re meant to use to get some passport photographs taken at, but they also enabled you to take some quirky pictures, which is what we deiced to do. We took 4 coloured pictures inside Cabot Circus shopping centre and some little black and white ones, as well as colour photographs in Colab. These cost £2 each, which were worth EVERY penny as I’ve always wanted to take some pictures like this before. I really love the 3 pictures I have on my little clown fish picture holder and it’s sitting by my bed so that when I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night this is the first and last thing I see.

These were a VERY random purchase and one I made whilst wandering around some of the shops in Bristol. I’m not 100% sure which Body Shop it was but it stood out like a sore thumb due to the fact it had the old Body Shop logo from the 90’s, if not older and the store inside looked exactly the same too! The girl in the store told me that it was the oldest Body Shop store in the UK and that it was sadly due a refurbishment soon due to parts of the shop falling apart. I picked up a  3 for 2 on the Hand Cleanse Gels but gave my boyfriend one, which was Strawberry. I picked up Satsuma and Coconut, the Coconut scent is currently in my hand bag and I can’t tell you how much I love it right now! It smells so fresh and clean which makes it perfect for summer. These don’t cost a lot each, I think less than £2.00 from memory.

This is a mixture of Lush buys from both Saturday and Monday. We popped into the Lush in Bristol’s town centre where the staff were lovely and helpful, as well as chatty about all the products! I bought my boyfriend a couple of things as he hasn’t yet tried Lush and I wanted him to. I bought him Pink Fun and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. He tried both of them out in the hotel room both Saturday and Sunday night and he loved them! As well as that I bought myself May Day Bath Bomb and The Comforter Bubble Bar. May Day Bath Bomb was a limited edition bath bomb from May for badgers and is a gorgeous citrus smelling bath bomb and reminds me of Whoosh Shower Gel. I picked up another two of these in Cribbs Causeway shopping centre on the Monday after trying out some of the May Day Bath Bomb on Sunday night. They only cost £2.95 each and all the money goes towards a good cause, SO if your local Lush shop stocks these, pick some up! As I mentioned I also picked up The Comforter Bubble Bar which surprisingly enough I hadn’t tried before although I have done for years! It reminds me of Ribena, which I love and when I popped this in a bath for my boyfriend and I to share on Saturday night, we both fell in love with it! These aren’t cheap however at £4.50 each but so so worth it!

SO basically that is everything I bought whilst I was in Bristol. Now onto what my anniversary presents were from my boyfriend.

My boyfriend really did spoil me for our first anniversary together and I do feel bad about it but at the same time it’s nice to be spoilt, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it to be fair. I love what he bought for me and I know I’m going to wear the things he bought me fondly in the future.

This was the first present he bought for me and the most expensive one at that! It is a Dr Martens tartan dress. We popped into the Dr Martens shop just for a glance at what they had nice in store and we spotted this dress and I mentioned how I rather liked it but after looking at the price tag I kind of left it. My boyfriend noticed how much I liked it and encouraged me to try it on. The Dr Martens store in Bristol doesn’t have a changed room so I had to pop this over the top of my clothes, which was okay. I tried this on, fell in love but said I would see as I wasn’t 100% sure, however later on that day we popped back in, I tried it on one more time and my boyfriend bought it for me. Would you like to know the price of it? Well tough, I’m not going to say. It wasn’t cheap though and is a very cherished gift and one I know I will wear all year round, especially with my Dr Martens boots! I did get some lovely pictures of me wearing this on the Sunday for our anniversary which will be on my blog in the near future!

This was a random purchase and one my boyfriend and I agreed that we would both get whilst in Bristol. We’ve been excited for TomoDachi Life for quite some time now and we both knew we would want to get it! It only came out on the Friday and we picked it up the next day. This is an amazing game and if you like games like Sims and Animal Crossing then you will LOVE this! This was nice of my boyfriend to pick up for me as when I noticed the price tag I was in two minds of whether to pick it up or not, so he offered to get it for me and since buying these all we’ve done is play this game!

My final present from my boyfriend and one I’ll love forever is my Pandora Mouse In The Cup charm. He had wanted to get me this charm for quite a while, but for my birthday opted for my Waving Cat charm instead, which I love too. As the store in Cabot Circus didn’t stock this charm we had to ask for it to be put on hold at Cribbs Causeway which they certainly did for us for two days and we picked it up on the Monday on the way home from Bristol. This charm is absolutely gorgeous and has a lot of detail into it. It’s a cute little mouse sat inside a tea-cup which has a heart by it which says, “Be Mine” which is so cute, soppy and romantic, perfect for an anniversary present. I love this charm so damn much and so far I’ve only been able to wear it on my bracelet for one day, so I can’t wait to wear this more to show it off!

So after a very long and photo heavy post, I have come to end of this post. I loved everything I bought and especially loved the presents my boyfriend bought for me.

I don’t think I will be buying anything for quite some time now as I’m not only skint but I don’t think I need anything else for a while now!

Look forward to some more posts about Bristol over the next week as well as plenty of other posts.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well, the weekend will be upon us soon!

June Wish List

As most of you will know, for the weekend just gone I’ve been off in Bristol and what an amazing time I had! I’ll be writing up a post all about that soon mind, so keep eyes peeled for that.

I very much intended to do a little bit of shopping whilst I was in  Bristol and surprisingly enough, nothing on my wish list this month was bought whilst I was in Bristol, which surprised me hugely! I doubt very much I’ll be buying things now I’m back home as I’m pretty skint, but IF I do buy anything, it’ll be something off of this wish list.

I don’t have many things on my wish list this month as well… I just don’t! I guess they all went onto my wish list last month!

June Wish List

  • Vagabond Dioon Closed Toe Sandal from Office  – £80.00.

This was a recent find thanks to Company’s High Street Edit. They didn’t even talk about these shoes in their summer magazine, they were on an advertisement in the Office magazine that came with theirs and I fell in love with them straight away! I’ve been trying to find some nice sandals that I can wear during the warmer days, as well as for in the evenings when the weather is a little colder as I’m rather fed up of wearing my flat shoes all the time! As I love my grunge look, these seem rather apt for it and besides that, they just look comfortable and gorgeous! I don’t like showing off my feet all that much, especially my toes and the backs of my feet so these covering those parts mean they’re perfect! I won’t lie, I had a look for these whilst I was away in Bristol but alas I had no luck, and a good job too as they aren’t cheap at £80.00 a pair, but they are real leather. I really can see me buying these in future and if not these, a pair that looks identical!

  • Tatty Devine Dog on Wheels Necklace – £30.00.

I spotted the brooch version of this necklace in Tatty Devine’s Birmingham store in Selfridges a while ago and asked them if they made a necklace version of it, which they said they might still make and to check the website. I forgot all about it until mid May when I was having a random nose around the Tatty Devine website and stumbled upon the Dog On Wheels necklace and since then I’ve wanted it rather badly! I was going to buy it for my trip to Bristol but sadly I don’t have time now, but I have a feeling when I get back from Bristol I’ll pick it up, as I only have one necklace and would like something a little bit more quirky and to be fair, how much more quirky can you get with this necklace?!

  • Shiro Cosmetics A Girl and A Cat Tinted Balm – $5.00.

My friend Mali over at maliberrymakeup wrote a post about Shiro Cosmetics in April/May time and from that post I discovered the brand, thus finding out about the Studio Ghibli collection they have on their website. I checked out the whole collection and fell in love with this one tinted balm. It’s a purple shade that looks deeper in the tube than what it comes out like on your lips. I’m a sucker for berry shades at the moment and this was right up my street when I saw it. I have thought about ordering a couple of the tinted balms from the Studio Ghibli collection, as I love Studio Ghibli anyway and I know I’d be able to use the tints for work on off days when I don’t fancy wearing any lipsticks or lip glosses. $5.00 converts to £2.98, so nearly £3.00 which I don’t think is a bad price for what it is and from what I’ve read with peoples reviews, it’s meant to be a great tinted balm too!

  • Topshop Badged Lightweight Short Parka  – £55.00.

I noticed this parka in Topshop on Sunday whilst out shopping and whilst I wasn’t after a new jacket for the summer I tried it on and fell in love, nearly buying it there and then! I knew that I wasn’t in any rush for one however, well that plus the fact I had spend nearly £50 already on things… Oops! Anyhoo! I decided against it as well because I was contemplating picking it up in Bristol, but I never bothered with it. It did feel gorgeous on though and I really liked the look of it and everyone I have shown it to has said how it would suit my grunge style. I’d dress it up with some Dr Martens I’ve bought (YES I BOUGHT SOME!), skinny fit jeans, dresses, shorts, anything and everything really! And no, £55.00 isn’t cheap but I know I would wear it loads during the spring, summer and even autumn months… Maybe even winter if I was to wear it out to a club.

  • Midnight Owl Skater Dress from eBay – £ Prices vary.

Before you go thinking it, I’m going to say it. Yes this is a copy of Black Milk Clothing’s Midnight Owl dress. I can’t afford their one, okay!? Otherwise I would be buying theirs. Now that that is over with, let’s continue. I really love the print and colour of the original design, it’s just so gorgeous and pretty. It reminds me of night time and woods and it just looks great, plus who doesn’t love owls, eh? This dress could be worn throughout the year, especially for nights out as it would just get so much attention! I was meant to order this weeks ago before Bristol as I was intending to wear it for then, but the sizes are really weird for it and I wouldn’t want to worry that if I bought it and tried it on that it wouldn’t fit for my holiday, so alas I’ve left it… For now!

  • Pandora Tropical Seahorse Pendant Charm – £35.00.

As a Pandora wearer and very much lover I’m often keeping tabs on which charms Pandora are bringing out and their summer charms are absolutely stunning! They’ve gone with two separate colour themes this year for summer, orange and blue. Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear, whether it be clothes or jewelery. SO when I saw that they had brought out a seahorse charm out, I KNEW I needed to check it out! On their website it was absolutely gorgeous and I knew when I was in Bristol that I would need to physically check it out, which of course I followed through with. I NEED this charm in my life and as soon as possible. My boyfriend bought me some amazing anniversary presents whilst we were in Bristol and he said that as much as he would have loved to get me this charm, he wanted to buy me something else instead (which will be shown on a haul and or anniversary presents post soon) so alas, he never bought me this. That being said I have decided that due to the fact I only have one necklace and I am craving something new so I thought, “Well why not have this charm as a necklace instead of as a new charm for my bracelet?” SO alas this is what I am going to do! The necklace chains from Pandora aren’t cheap, but I would prefer to have a Pandora chain to go with my Pandora charm. I can’t wait to get my hands on this, when I do however mind, I dunno.

So that was my wish list for June! I’m so poor right now that I doubt I’ll even buy anything off of here, but you never know. xD

What things are you lusting after this month? Let me know in the comments down below!

I apologise for the lack of posts over the past week but I’ve been so busy with work, preparing for Bristol, as well as being in Bristol that I’m only just getting a chance to sit at my laptop and catch up with YouTube videos and blog posts on Bloglovin, let alone write a blog post!

So until next time all, take care and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

A Long Weekend In…

Image taken from weheartit.com

If the picture doesn’t make it obvious enough, it’ll be Bristol where I’ll be having my long weekend away!

This is a very exciting post for me to write today as it’s something I’ve been looking forward to since my boyfriend and I booked it a couple of weeks ago.

For our first anniversary together my boyfriend and I are going to Bristol for a long weekend away. Neither of us have been there before and due to that we’re super excited! We’ve heard nothing but good things about Bristol from our friends so it was an idea we both came up with a while ago.

I haven’t had a proper holiday since the age of 15 and not even a proper weekend away since I was 19/20 (although I will be having a weekend away at the Lake District next weekend!) and that was a trip to Hereford with my creative writing course at university. So I am in much need of a break away!

We finally booked our hotel at the end of April and straight away we began to plan what we could do whilst we’re there and where we could go too. As well as that I want to try and pick up some nice little bits and pieces to take with me, which includes both beauty and fashion.

My boyfriend and I have agreed to do presents but instead of buying something beforehand, we’re just going to buy each other something(s) during our weekend away.

I’m hoping I’ll have enough room for my clothes in my suitcase to be honest! I only have a small case, which has done the job many times before for a long weekend but due to what I need to take with me to Bristol, I’m worried I may need to take a weekend bag too… Oh dear!

But enough of all that, I want to share with you the places we’ve hand suggested to us, as well as places we’ve found online that we’re planning (well hoping) to go to. Plus as we’re staying in the centre of Bristol town we have a lot of places practically on the doorstep of our hotel to visit and go to.

Image taken from weheartit.com

For food we have a list of places we want to go to, including Halo, Illusions, St. Nicholas Market, Glassboat, Harveys Cellar, The Grain Barge and Cox and Baloney Tea Rooms. My boyfriend and I love food, so I’m sure we will find and visit lots of different places, especially when it comes to lunch and breakfast. On our last day in Bristol I really want to go to YO! Sushi before we make our way home, nothing like eating something usual even in a different place!

Image taken from weheartit.com

As well as eating, we also both enjoy discovering new things and places, so we’ve been looking for places to visit whilst in Bristol. We’re going to be typical tourists and have already found and been told about loads of places to visit whilst we’re there. Some of these include Bansky walking tour (above image is a piece of Bansky’s art), See No Evil, Stonehenge (we think it might be close enough to get to), Grillstock BBQ & Music Festival, At Bristol Science Centre, Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Zoo, Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf and anything Aardman Animations related!

I’m sure we’ll be visiting loads of other places too whilst we’re there but there are just some of the places we’ve found so far that we both want to go to and do.

Image taken from weheartit.com

Finally we’re planning on doing some shopping whilst we’re there as Bristol sounds like an amazing place to go to do just that. My boyfriend and I love going to Milton Keynes if we want a good day of shopping, but already we feel that Bristol may take over Milton Keynes somewhat, but we shall see.

Bristol offers various different shops, including vintage shops, which is something I’m always interested in looking at. There are various shopping centers such as Bristol Shopping Quarter, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, Cabot Circus and many more. As well as that Gloucester Road and Park Street offer many shops too, mostly vintage shops.

I’m super excited for Bristol, I’ve wanted to go since  my friend Poppy (over at Let’s Drive Far Away) told me how great it is there, plus the fact my friend Mali (over at Maliberry Makeup) is from and lives there, who I’m hoping to see whilst I’m there.

I know I’ll be doing lots of fun posts throughout June about my long weekend away, I’M JUST SO EXCITED!

I have just under a month now to wait until Bristol and I know in that time it’s going to be all plan, plan, PLAN… And maybe a small shopping trip beforehand too…

Watch this space!

Have you ever been to Bristol, or do you live there? If you have/do please recommend my boyfriend and I some places to go to for food, tourism and shopping.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all having a great week so far.
