Life Lately – Past, Present and Future

I really love this photo! Shall I add it to my “about me” section? P.S. I love Instagram filters! 😛

For my post this week I thought I would do a life lately post and have a catch up about stuff that’s been happening since my last life lately in July (which you can read here). So, go and grab yourself a hot drink because this post is going to be lonnnnng!

I’m going to get this out there straight away and say that since September life has been a bit shit… But thankfully it hasn’t affected me too badly…

September is my favourite month of the year as many know, but this year it was one of the worst. My aunt unexpectedly passed away and I’m still torn about it. October was her funeral and as I’ve been so busy with work throughout October and this month I’ve not really had time to think about it all… Which isn’t a bad thing but I’ve just been so busy.

Due to everything happening one after the other, I am mentally drained. I had a day off work yesterday and it was much needed. I spent the morning doing nothing and catching up on Twitch streams, cleaned my bathroom in the afternoon and ordered a takeaway in the evening. It was a very good day and I loved it so much.

I was bloody knackered this day… Busy work day!

Anyhoo, I don’t want to talk about how shit the past three months has been too much here, but I did want to be honest. I just want to continue to be there for my mom and try and look forward to Christmas as it’ll definitely be a hard year for me, but especially for my mom. I want to try and spoil her as much as possible, especially when her birthday comes around after mine in January too.

Alongside that we’ve also had a second lockdown in the UK, which is set to finish in less than two weeks. To be honest the second lockdown hasn’t affected me. I’m still working from home so I’ve been fine workwise and as miserable as it sounds, second lockdown has been an excuse for me to stay at home and not have to worry about having energy after a busy day to socialise.

COVID and lockdowns has fucked with my head however. I’m happy to stay at home and not hang out with people and be social. I like staying in my house and when both me and Dane have a week off work in December, we intend to do that for pretty much all of it. We’re going to be working on the house and doing things we’ve meant to do the past four years of owning our home.

COVID and lockdown may have fucked with my head, but it has made me realise how much I love my home, but also how much work we still need to do. We’ve neglected it because of being social bunnies since 2016 and I’m done with it. I have certain friends I really fucking miss and can’t wait to see when things go back to “normal” but that’s about it.

I don’t give a fuck if I’m miserable. 😛 Has anyone else had the same happen to them that has happened to me? Aka turning into a hermit. 😛

One of the many pretty baths I’ve taken lately. This one was so damn pretty due to the purple and blue swirling into one another.

I’m getting into the festive spirit a little now in the run up to December. I’m halfway through my Christmas shopping and I’ve already pre-ordered my Christmas food ready for the big day. I won’t be putting my tree up until the 1st December, I can’t stand putting it up early as I find it takes the magic of Christmas away. It comes down just before New Years Eve so we don’t have to worry about putting it down and away before we return to work for a New Year. A lot of people think this is miserable… I think due to being in a home that didn’t really put a tree up this is just something that has passed onto me somewhat.

Speaking of Christmas and the New Year I have so many exciting things I want to talk and share in regards to my blog! 😀

I decided almost a month ago that I would do a MASSIVE post at the start of December about shopping small in the UK. I’ve never done this before in the sense of all stores to be mentioned will be small so I’m REALLY excited for it! With 2020 and lockdown due to COVID, I feel I have shopped smaller more than ever and I love being able to share them with others on my Instagram (theremightbecoffeeblog) so I want to do the same here on my blog too.

I asked you on Twitter what you wanted to see, UK, USA, Europe or everywhere. You mostly voted for me to focus on shopping small in the UK, so that’s what I’ll be doing. I’ll have categories such as beauty, home, kawaii/geek, enamel pins, etc. Are there any categories you would like to see in particular that I haven’t mentioned?

I’ll be looking to research for this MASSIVE post very soon (maybe even after this post is live!) so I can get it out for (drumroll?) 5th December, which is in a couple of weeks! If you also know of any UK stores I should mention, please let me know!

I quickly want to interrupt what I’m talking about to show you these AMAZING Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon leggings I found for a total bargain on Depop! Someone sold them brand new with tags for £40. I snapped them up and I have zero regrets. I’m going to wear these religiously during my week off work. 😛

Alongside that blog post idea for Christmas, I have also decided in 2021 to make a slight change to my blog… and when I say change I mean my monthly posts in particular. I have toyed with this thought the past few months and after reaching out to you guys again on Twitter you all had the same thought as me.

With my monthly favourites posts I am going to move away from mentioning my five favourite beauty items and just mention one or two. I’m planning to share TV shows, movies, music and games I have loved that month, but I’ll only talk about books if I’ve actually read any. I love reading manga, but I’ve not ready any for a while. I’m going to change that in 2021 but I don’t see the point in having books on my monthly favourites if I’m not reading any each month… It’s just pointless.

I’ll be adding some new categories such as – favourite piece of clothing, favourite candle/scent and anything else that comes to mind to be honest with you! It will be random each month me thinks depending on how that month has been like etc.

I didn’t know whether to lump  my monthly favourites and my wish list together so I have more room for content each month but I don’t know… I worry a post will be far too long then, so I am swaying towards keeping them separated. What do you guys think? I do love my monthly wish list posts! 😀

Please take another amazing bath photo! If there is a brand I have fallen in love with this year it’s Bake Bath Love. They’ll be getting a mention in my Christmas Shop Small UK post.

In 2020 I haven’t work with as many people as I usually do with gifted posts, but at the same time we obviously know why this is the case! However, I am hoping in 2021 to work with more people, but we shall see! I’m not fussed if I don’t of course. 🙂

One more thing I want to share with you today is something that I ordered at the start of November as a payday treat for myself. As many know, I love Bee & Puppycat and have done since I discovered it back in 2013 but 2020 has been the year I’m finally buying some merchandise (fan made mostly) from the show.

I finally decided to treat myself to an amigurumi (Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures) of Puppycat, as well as some stickers. He’s by Lunaticgumis and I love him so much! He arrived today and he’s been very much loved already. He’s now on my plushie shelf next to the Puppycat polymer clay keyring that I commissioned from MelonDesignsByEllen. However, I think I will be doing a massive talk about these on a separate post in December. 🙂

That’s basically everything I wanted to catch up with here though… I have some exciting posts coming up in December, which may even end up going through to January too including:

Black Milk Clothing x Animal Crossing – I am beyond excited for all this stuff to arrive… I say all, it’s just three items. It’ll be similar to the one I wrote about the Pokemon goodies, which you can read here for the time being.

Pikarar – This is going to be a huge haul and one I need to share with you all! It’ll include Pokemon and shiba inu clothing! 😀

I’m sure there will be more but those two stand out for me at the moment so I wanted to get them mentioned here. 🙂

Told you I loved them Instagram filters… 😉

I’m not going to ramble anymore guys! What do you think of the small adjustments I’m thinking of doing to my blog in 2021? Make sure to let me know what you think in the comments.

Is there anything else you would like to see more or less of on here? I’d like to hear what you think. In 2021 I want to mostly continue what I’ve done this year, aka one post a week and write about what the hell I want to! 😀

Aside from letting me know what you think, how have you all been doing? How are you dealing with COVID? Are you loving lockdown hating lockdown? Let me know everything. 🙂

Until next time though guys, stay safe, take care and I’ll see you soon!

October Favourites ’20

Can you believe it’s November already? October really did go by in the blink of an eye and quite frankly I’m glad. I mentioned back in my September favourites that I’d lost a family member and that grief went through from September to October. I still feel sensitive some days but I’m so busy with work, I’m managing okay.

October was a strange month. I was incredibly busy with work towards the end and I’ve kind of been a hermit and got on with my own thing. As well as that we all know it was Halloween on Saturday and as depressing as I sound, it didn’t go to plan as much or as well as I’d hoped.

We went to a pumpkin patch to pick our own for the first time and it was shit. It rained, we seemed to grab the only decent pumpkins left and it felt very rushed at the farm we went to. I certainly won’t go there again next year.

We carved our pumpkins when we got home, ordered takeaway for dinner and watching scary movies. OH and of course I played Animal Crossing! Two days passed and today we’ve had to throw away the pumpkins as they had started to turn… What a let down. 😦

I can’t complain too much though. We got to see family briefly in the afternoon and we spent most of the day together. For next year I may visit another pumpkin patch, but I won’t be buying any pumpkins and I especially won’t be paying a fee to go in…

I thought I would share a spooky image this month from The Latest Kate. I love it so much and the little spooky ghosts are so cute!

As you may have noticed (if you’re a regular reader) this months favourites is up a day late… SHOCKER! Basically due to being so busy in the week with work I’ve been shattered and then the weekend I was busy with Halloween and D&D session with friends.

BUT it’s here now and it’s better now than never 🙂

  • Happy Melon Sabrina Bubble Bath.

I recently bought myself some goodies from the indie bath brand Happy Melon and I don’t regret it! I picked up two bubble baths, but Sabrina is the one I’ll be talking about this month. This is a gorgeous purple bubble bath that smells of Lush’s famous Snow Fairy shower gel. A little goes a long way with this product and it’s been such a pleasure to use in the evenings when I need a good soak after work. The scent lasts for AGES after too which is always good and leaves the bath with a gorgeous purple/pink colour. I highly recommend the bubble baths by Happy Melon and although their stock has sold out on the website at the moment, if you give them a follow on Instagram they post updates on when the store will be stocked up with goodies.

  • Pineapple Cuticle Oil.

This is a cuticle oil from and by my nail technician, I don’t want to mention names to try and keep some privacy my end. I can’t not mention this cuticle oil though as it’s amazing! The smell reminds me of a yummy shower gel I owned back when I was a student, as well as summer holidays abroad both as a child and as an adult. The pen format is perfect too as it’s great to use on the go. When I went to Japan I took one of my previous cuticle oil pens too by my nail technician as it was so handy whilst travelling and out and about. But yes, this is amazing! My nail technician does sell them on her website so if you know me well and would like to get one, DM me and I can link you. 🙂

  • Tisserand Tea Tree Pure Essential Oil.

I love this essential oil so much! Dane’s parents bought it for me a few birthdays back alongside my unicorn diffuser and it’s something I find myself using all the time. I especially love using it at night before I’m about to go to sleep, as well as during the day when I’m cleaning and doing housework. Considering how long I’ve owned it, I’m only halfway through the bottle in question. I honestly recommend their essential oils if you’re looking to buy one or two. You can get them on Amazon as well!

  • Collection Colour Lash All Day Wear Colour Mascara Clear.

This is a definitely an old  beauty favourite of mine and of late I feel like I’ve needed to use it loads… I don’t know why! My eyebrows are just rebelling at the moment and going all over the place. This is actually a clear mascara but I use it on my eyebrows as it costs sod all (just £1.99!) and works really really well for the price. I highly recommend if you want a cheap brow gel, this one is good. Some brands will charge a fortune for a clear brow gel and they probably don’t work half as well as this does. 🙂

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care (review here).

I thought I would mention this product this month as it’s one I use all the time and it’s really been good this month. With the temperature change happening so quickly my skin has really suffered this year. I really love this moisturiser as it’s so hydrating and I always feel like my skin has had a massive drink. It lasts me ages too as a little bit goes a long way. I use the normal to combination moisturiser and it works perfect for my skin. I’ve just bought myself a new bottle and my skin is very happy about that. 😛

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – The Haunting of Bly Manor.

This horror series was AMAZING and I already can’t wait for potentially another “The Haunting” style show by Mike Flanagan. If you didn’t know he also created The Haunting of Hill House. I loved this show so much, you’re constantly questioning what is happening and on the edge of your seat. We binge watched this pretty quickly and it had the same amount of suspense and nail biting as The Haunting of Hill House did. We did find that the genre of this show went from one thing to another… I’m not going to say anything as it could spoil and ruin it for people who haven’t watched it yet. This is a Netflix exclusive show, so if you haven’t seen it already, GET TO IT!

Favourite Movie – Brüno.

I’m not lying when I say I’ve never watched Borat or Brüno… It was only from the new Borat film coming out on Amazon Prime that me and Dane decided to have a Sacha Baron Cohen marathon and basically have me watch everything he’s ever done. The only film I have ever watched was Ali G Indahouse and I LOVED that growing up. Out of all the films we watched, Brüno was the best one for sure! I was told by loads of people “How can you not like his work?” and I think it’s because I found it dumb at the time. Now I look back, I love Jackass, Viva La Bam and Dirty Sanchez which are REALLY dumb, so how can I not like his work? Brüno is just fucking hilarious, end of.

Favourite Book – No reading for me again…

Yeah I didn’t read. To be honest I didn’t have the mental capacity to do any reading and I was so tired from work all I wanted to do was chill out in front of my phone, laptop, TV or switch lite. I’m gutted to be honest as I have so much to read… I will keep trying. I need to spend more evenings reading.

Favourite Music – PVRIS –  Use Me (Deluxe).

I’m mentioning Use Me again this month as quite honestly I’ve listening to this album more this month and I have proper fallen in love with it. I feel I’ve listened to it more because I decided to buy the Deluxe version, which came out a couple of weeks back. It’s been on repeat whilst I’m working and whilst I’m out and about, both walking and in the car. I felt like I couldn’t get into the album at first and I think it’s due to some of the tracks being from previously released singles and EPs. Plus due to buying the normal version on iTunes, the tracks from the EPs that I already owned messed up, so I only had half an album! However now I have the fill album, I’ve found myself listening to it more. All the tracks really compliment one another and everything works so well. The new tracks really do stand out too, with one track in particular which I have fallen in love with, which is “Stay Gold”. This track is amazing and I find myself dancing to it quite often whilst I do the simplest of things… Aka make myself a cup of coffee. 😛

Among Us fan art by One In Hundred – make sure to check out her store!

Favourite Game – Among Us.

I have fallen in love with this game! Mine and Dane’s friends have played it altogether over a couple of Saturday nights in October and we cannot get enough. It’s so much fun, especially with a big group of people. I’m crap at being the imposter and always get caught as soon as I’ve killed someone. I’ve only been the imposter twice as well, thankfully! 😛 The thing I love the most is when you discuss with everyone about a body and who the killer might be. We all have our little jokes and quirks with one another and some of us can suss if someone is fibbing. I know straight away half the time if Dane is being honest or not. It’s just a fun game and it costs next to nothing to buy! It’s free on mobile phones and £3.99 on Steam. I have it on PC and definitely recommend it there, but at least on mobile phones you know you can get it cheaply. 🙂

So there we have it guys, that’s my favourites from October! Can you believe it’s already November and before we know it we’ll be starting to open up advent calendars? It’s crazy isn’t it?

What were your favourites from October? Make sure to let me know in the comments below!

Until next time guys, I hope you’re keeping safe and well during these hard times and please remember… This won’t last forever. ❤

Asda NSPA Fruit Extracts Shower & Bath Gels – Review

This is a review I didn’t think I would do to be honest and not because of any negative reason, I just didn’t think it was something that NEEDED reviewing. I assume everyone knows about these awesome shower and bath gels but according to people I know they actually don’t AND GUESS WHAT? YOU’RE MISSING OUT!

I also wanted to write this review today because Asda currently have an offer on which includes these and I want people to take advantage of that like me and Dane have.

For quite a long time on and off I’ve bought these shower and bath gels and I’ve tried at least a hand full of different ones and I can’t wait to try more!

Today I’ll be reviewing three different scents and mentioning ones I’ve tried in the past. I hope you enjoy this review! I haven’t done one for a couple of weeks now so I wanted to try and get something out there! Lipstick reviews will be back very soon by the way. 😛

When me and Dane visited Asda Friday just gone we saw that Asda had a HUGE offer on their health and beauty products which was 3 for 2. We used this offer on loads of health and beauty stuff from deodorant, some erm feminine products for myself *coughs loudly* and of course these NSPA shower and bath gels.

I don’t actually think this offer is on anymore as it isn’t showing up on the website… Maybe it was just something for the bank holiday. WHICH I can’t believe we had again. Urgh. Too many bank holidays that I don’t get to enjoy due to my job. 😛

Anyways! Me and Dane picked up three of the shower and bath gels on the offer which are lemon, blueberry and strawberry.

The first thing I want to talk about is how gorgeous the colours of these gels are. Due to the 14 different scents there are all sorts of colourful bottles on the shelves when you go to buy these. As you can see from the pictures of the three we picked up, we’re going to have a very colourful bathroom!

The 14 scents you can choose from are shea butter, creamy coconut, strawberry, pineapple, vanilla, green tea, blueberry, sweet almond, raspberry, lemon, mango, passion fruit, red cherry and runny honey.

I remember when they had a lime shower and bath gel which smelt amazing and I loved using it throughout the summer the year I bought it. Sadly it’s been discontinued now and by the looks of things replaced with the lemon one, which is just as good!

These are all shower and bath gels I would happily use throughout the year, but they’re obviously going to be amazing throughout the warmer summer months! They’re also all 500ml bottles so these will last you ages! Between me and Dane using them everyday in our morning showers one bottle will probably last us a month. You don’t need a lot on a sponge or shower scrunchy as a little goes a long way!

I wouldn’t say this is super moisturising for the skin but it always leaves me feeling squeaky clean and smelling amazing after I get out of the shower!

This put under the hot tap for a bath makes loads of lovely scented bubbles! I know it’s not Lush but to be honest it makes a change from using Lush all the time and it’s a hell of a lot cheaper! Before now I’ve put it in the bath and washed my hair, my hair ends up smelling like whichever of the shower and bath gels I’ve used.

The brightest shade out of these is definitely the strawberry one. This has left out shower scrunchy stained pink before now! That isn’t a bad thing though. 😛

I’ll talk about each gel individually, first I’ll talk about the blueberry one.

I love blueberries so much! The actual fruit, the smell, the taste and hell even the colour of them is amazing! The first thing I did when I first bought this gel was give it a sniff to see if it smelt as good as it looked, which it did! It smells so fruity yet with a bit of sweetness to it. It reminds me of I Love… Cosmetics blueberry smoothie range that they had out years ago. I loved it so much and since I was about 20 I haven’t been able to find the blueberry smoothie scents since. This has definitely replaced it though and I wish NSPA had more products with the same scent. It strangely reminds me of the slush drinks you buy in the cinema, even though (as far as I know anyway…) they don’t do a blueberry flavour. Either way this one smells amazing!

Second one I’ll be talking about is lemon.

This is the one out of the three gels that we’ve not tried until now and as you can see we’re using this one at the moment. This smells amazing! I love citrus scents in summer but I love them more in the mornings! I find if I’m up really early for work that it helps  me to wake up due to the sharp and uplifting scent. The yellow colour is gorgeous too and really adds a pop of colour to your shower. This doesn’t smell of like sweet or candy, it genuinely smells like you’ve cut a lemon in half and you’re smelling it. 😛

Finally I’m talking about the strawberry gel, which is both mine and Dane’s favourite.

This is our second bottle now and I think from now on every time we pop to Asda for our food shop we’ll be picking up a bottle of this if it’s on offer. It’s a bright red shower gel and one that really does show a pop of colour when used in the shower, as well as when left on display on the side of the bath or shower. This smells just like strawberry laces but not in a sickly sweet way. More of a relaxing yet yummy scent.

These are definitely some of mine and Dane’s favourite shower gels and at £3.00 for a 500ml bottle I think these are a complete bargain! I mean considering you’ll pay £5.00 for a 250ml bottle in The Body Shop and extortionate prices from Lush between £15.00-£20.00 for a 500ml bottle.

I don’t know if it’s the older I’ve gotten or even since buying the house but as much as I love both The Body Shop and Lush shower gels they are a bloody rip off for what they claim to do to your skin and what they actually don’t do. I don’t mind paying £3.00 for these shower gels mind as I find whilst they don’t do anything mind blowing, I’m saving quite a lot of money in the long run really.

These are currently on offer for £2.00 each at Asda so if you like the sound of them make sure to pick one or two up!

Have you ever tried the NSPA shower and bath gels? If not do you think you would? Hey maybe you have, if so what do you think of them? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

I hope you’re all well folks and had a lovely bank  holiday weekend, sorry I’ve been a bit crap with blogging lately. I’m on late shifts at work right now and by the time I get in from work I eat my dinner and go to sleep. 😦 That and my mental health is pretty bad right now… But that’s for another post.

Until next time though take care all!

April Favourites ’17

Easter holidays are over, all the chocolate eggs have been sold or are still on sale in the shops, and Mini Eggs won’t be back until New Year… This is the saddest thing for me. I fucking love Mini Eggs! 😛

But we’re into May now and happy May Day! I’m off work for a change and I intend to spend the day doing sod all and chilling out with Dane. I might make us sausage and mash… Love it!

ANYWAY! With a new month of course comes my monthly posts, including my favourites. April was a funny month, but I discovered a lot of new items this month gone and luckily stuff I needed… Not just buying for the sake of it. 😛

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Shower Cream.

I’ve used this in the past and I’m pretty sure it has featured on my monthly favourites before. It being featured on here again just shows what an amazing product it is! I actually forgot how good it was until I recently started using it again. It smells beautiful and leaves your skin not only smelling yummy but feeling lovely and soft too. For only a £1 you cannot go wrong!

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter.

It’s shit to admit but my lips are STILL bad. Well they appear to be on the mend now and better than before but still bad… Urgh. I finally got some decent answers from two doctors recently and was given the right treatments. Alongside using the treatment creams I’ve also been slathering on this Vaseline in between applications to keep my lips nice and moist… Ew I hate that word but it’s the only word I can use right now and it be accurate. This tub is for around the house, as I bought an aloe vera one for out on the go and for work. I don’t like that one as much as the cocoa butter though to be honest. I find the smell to be fresh, but that doesn’t apply when on the lips. I feel like the cocoa butter scent is lovely both in the jar and when applied to the lips. You can never go wrong with cocoa butter to be fair! I love this better than the original Vaseline though to be honest! 😀

  • Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel.

I needed a new eye gel last month and wanted to make sure to get something that would cool my eyes whilst hydrating them throughout the day. I wouldn’t usually go for a low budget eye gel due to the whole, “It’s not going to do sod all…” but I thought for £1.50 it wouldn’t break the bank to give it a whirl! I hate eye creams and have always opted to buying gels if I can. This one is amazing and really does soothe and cool tired eyes either in the morning before work or after a long day in the evening. Either way I love this and I think I’ll end up buying another soon for mine and Dane’s holiday in September!

  • Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in shade Copper Mine.

When I was off work during April I decided to paint my nails as due to the job I do I’m not allowed to wear it whilst working. I have a couple of these Molten Metal polishes but this one is my favourite. I find the copper shade suits my yellow skin tone the best and it just looks gorgeous too. The formula is lovely and it lasts ages before chipping! Even whilst doing loads of work on the house last week it hardly chipped. This was without a top coat too! I’ll be reviewing these very soon as they deserve a review. I plan to get myself the new holographic shade that recently came out. These are on 2 for £7 at the moment so I’ll be getting that and another shade.

  • Radox Feel Heavenly Bath Soak with Coconut & Milk.

Finally we have a bubble bath on my monthly favourites. I still use my Lush products, don’t get me wrong but more often than not I find if I overuse them it actually causes more harm to my body than good. That and I try to make my money last at the moment. ANYWAY! This bath soak was bought on a whim that I wanted something nice and light to use on days off work and before bed. This is a gorgeous bubble bath where a little bit goes a long way, but I always add a generous amount to my bath to create LOADS of bubbles. I always find this leaves my skin lovely and soft after use. It’s amazing.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Sirens (UK version).

This is a show I recently started to re-watch. It was out YEARS ago… (looks on Wikipedia) Holy shit 2011 was when this show first aired. I feel old. Very old. ANYWAY! As the title may give away this show is about 3 paramedics and it shows what they get up to during their shifts. It also shows a couple of members of the Police and Fire Service too. This is fiction I’ll have you know and is actually a comedy. I love it so much though, it just makes me laugh. There are some serious notes in it however and with that it does remind me of Only Fools and Horses. One moment it can be side splitting funny and the next bringing a tear to your eye. If you’ve never watched it and you fancy giving it a go then I think you’re only options now are going to be watching it online for free, or as a shitty YouTube upload. I’m being naughty and watching it online for free… Hey! I’d buy it if I could!

Favourite Film – Your Name (Kimi no Na wa).

Last month me and Dane went to go and watch this after he found out it was showing in the Mockingbird cinema in Birmingham’s Custard Factory. He booked it that day and that evening we were off to watch it. Oh my God it wasn’t even what I was expecting it to be to be honest. I knew what the basic plot was for the film but it has a lot of twists and such throughout the film. I don’t want to talk too in depth as I worry it could spoil the film for anyone who hasn’t seen it. You can watch a trailer here if you like the sound of it. BUT to be honest if you haven’t heard about it by now, whether you’re an anime fan or not then where have you been hiding? It keeps being spoken about how it’s the best anime film for quite some time. 😛

Favourite Book – K-ON!

As regular readers of my blog will know I have been reading nothing but manga since the start of the year and whilst it is an expensive thing to keep on top of, it is so damn worth it! I recently purchased all of the K-ON manga to read and whilst I am only somewhat through the series, I am in love with it. It’s just great to see some of my new favourite anime characters come to life on the pages of the manga as well as through the anime series. I’ll be reviewing in the future!

Favourite Songs – George Michael “Freedom! 90” and “Careless Whisper”.

This is kind of random I suppose but a few nights ago I just started listening to songs from the 00’s… Which led to songs from the 90’s and for some reason that then led me to listen to some of George Michael’s best singles. Of course he died at the end of last year which was a real shame. He was a talented guy in every way! I have always had a place for “Freedom! 90” and I don’t know why… I especially love the music video as I think it’s so clever, alongside the song as a dig at the music industry. 😛 Thanks to Deadpool now whenever I hear “Careless Whisper” I just think of Ryan Reynolds singing it at the end of the film. HA! 😛 BUT instead of popping either of the songs mentioned above I thought I would attach Seether’s cover of “Careless Whisper”. It’s amazing in my eyes and they did a really good job!

Favourite game – TsumTsum.

This is a game I have owned for as long as I’ve had my iPhone 6 to be honest… I remember when I went on holiday with my dad in November 2015 playing it whenever we were near a WiFi connection! ANYWAY… This is a game I have been playing nonstop this month and it’s one I always forget that I love to play. It’s a game that you can actually pay to play in Japan as an actual arcade game. I would love to play it like that! I’ve attached a video above of Sharla playing it! It’s just a great, free and relaxing game to play. It’s one of those where you need to match up 3 plus of the same Disney character to get rid of them, get a high score, coins etc. With those coins you can buy new characters etc. If you love Disney and love the Tsum Tsum’s then you’ll love this!

So those were my favourites from April! I can’t believe how quickly the year is going by though to be perfectly honest. Next month me and Dane will have been in our house for a year and I don’t know if I like that or if it scares me a little. Time is going wayyyyy too fast and I don’t think I like that. It also means next month marks our four year anniversary which IS exciting and I don’t mind that. 😛 It does feel like we’ve been together longer mind.

What products were you loving throughout April? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I hope you have a lovely bank holiday Monday. I know I will be. 😛

14 Things I Love

Today is the soppiest day of the year, of course it’s Valentine’s Day and it’s definitely like Marmite… You either love it or you hate it, there is no in between really. Well I say that but I’m one of those in between people… I hate Valentine’s Day for various reasons, but I don’t love it. The only thing I like about it is being able to buy Dane a card and write a soppy as fuck message inside for him. I wasn’t going to this year, but alas on a mini food shop I ended up picking up a card. DAMN!

some_text

So instead of a soppy post like some people may be posting today, I decided to write about 14 things I love instead… 14 stands for the date by the way. 😛

  1. Pokemon – Everyone knows this is one of the things I love and I have done for nearly twenty years now! I love every aspect about it including the games, anime, the figures, etc etc. I could go on about what I love about it. It’s just such an interesting series and is one of the many things that takes me back to my childhood. Mornings spent watching the anime on SM:TV Live, as well as playing the first and second generations on my Game Boy Color during the weekends off school and summer holidays.
  2. Perfume/fragrance – I love wearing perfume, even though on the rare occasion I won’t be in the mood for it, so I won’t wear it. I wear all sorts of different ones, but some of my favourites to name are Thierry Muglar Alien, Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, DKNY Red Delicious, Gucci Envy Me and Dior Addict. I’m sure I can think of more than this mind!
  3. Food – I have always loved food, especially savory food. I would eat bags of crisps over a bar of chocolate any day! I love to eat food, cook food, watch food being cooked, thinking about food, everything you can think of to be honest. I especially love Japanese food, as well as Italian food as well. OH and you can never go wrong with American food as well. One of my favourite things to cook is probably my homemade piri piri fries, just because I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love them.
  4. Lipstick – As the only make up I wear is lipstick I love them so damn much. I love all sorts of lipsticks of course, especially liquid lipsticks. When I first starting to wear lipstick properly I opted for dark pink shades, which moved onto red, then various pink shades and lately I wear a lot of dark shades such as dark raspberry pink, various purple shades and even a dark purple/navy shade lately. I can only see me going darker too! I can’t stand nude shades or light pink, they don’t suit me at all and look awful on me.
  5. Holographic – I am a holosexual through and through and it reminds me of growing up as a teenager and wanting all these things… But sadly I wasn’t able to have them. Due to the whole 90’s trend coming back, of course holographic stuff has too. I only really pick up any holographic goodies if I really like the look of the, and I don’t know why but the holographic look just makes me so happy!
  6. Foxes – These are my favourite animals with dogs and otters coming second and third. I don’t know what it is about them that I love, maybe it’s that they’re ginger… Maybe it’s that they’re cunning… Maybe it’s because they’re fluffy? I don’t know but I think they’re beautiful animals!
  7. Studio Ghibli – One of my favourite anime film studios and the same place that has made one of my favourite films, Spirited Away. I love how creative and unique the stories and characters are that come out of Studio Ghibli, as well as how beautiful the art style is as well. Me and Dane own all of the Ghibli movies to date and I love watching them throughout the year, but especially with people who have never seen them before. I love seeing people fall in love with them.
  8. Lady and The Tramp – I do like Disney but there’s only a handful of the films that I really love and fan over. Lady and The Tramp is my favourite Disney film and one I’ll always keep close to my heart. I just remember watching it when I was a little girl and falling in love with Lady, Tramp and the other dogs. Jock is definitely one of my favourites too! The story is just beautiful and at the time was probably a story line seen in romantic movies, so the fact they brought it to a children’s film was so good.
  9. Goodsmile Company Nendoroid’s – These are little figures based on Japanese anime and manga series, however it has shifted more over to the Western trends such as Disney movie characters (Frozen, Star Wars, Marvel etc) and even some game characters (Animal Crossing, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, etc). Both me and Dane LOVE Nendoroid’s and we are constantly eyeing up new ones to buy… They’re not cheap though so they’re definitely a treat whenever we get any. I need to do a post soon about which ones we’re both lusting after.
  10. Duvet Days – This is definitely something I love! I don’t get them as much as I used to due to being busy with work, or the house, or other things. BUT saying this I am currently sat up in bed typing up this post, watching The Last Leg. At this moment in time I cannot possibly complain. 😛 I just love duvet days where I can lie in bed for at least 3 hours on my iPhone scrolling through YouTube and Instagram. These make perfect weekend mornings for me.
  11. Coffee – As a trained barista I love knowing how to make a perfect cup of coffee, but do you know what is even better? Having my own coffee machine to make coffee shop style coffee at home! I LOVE IT! Apart from loving coffee in that way, I also love coffee flavoured things, as well as coffee beans covered in chocolate. I am that weirdo who loves the coffee Revels and Roses. 😛
  12. Bubble baths – I swear I was a mermaid in a previous life! Before all these trends of “being a mermaid” came around I always joked about this. I LOVE baths and I could spend hours in the bath reading books, scrolling through YouTube and Instagram on my phone, and even doing some writing in my journal. Even as a child and teenager I would sit in the bath for hours on end and just add more hot water whenever I felt chilly. Showers I’m not so arsed about, but baths are just heaven to me! I’ve always had a fascination with water too and I don’t know why to be honest, so much so I’ve written stories about water before and various novels as well.
  13. My best friend Gabriella – I mentioned her recently on my Galentine’s Day post, which you can read here. I’ve known Gabriella for nearly 10 years now and I tell you it has FLOWN by! But I love her so much, she is like a sister to me and we get on so well. We talk daily and whether we’re feeling great or like shit we’re always there for each other no matter what. We’ve both supported each other the past month about different things and if I’m ever in the shit and need someone and Dane isn’t around, I know she’ll be there for me no matter what. I love her so much. :’)
  14. Dane – I said Valentine’s Day is soppy but I don’t recall saying there wouldn’t be any on here… 😛 But of course I love Dane. He’s my boyfriend, my best friend, my soul mate and the best person I have ever met. He’s always there for me no matter what and even when I’m a miserable bitch and take stuff out on him, he’s always there to give me a cuddle and be understanding of whatever has happened. I just love him so much, I can’t even describe it. He’s my light in the dark, the apple to my pie and as I’ve started to joke, the stink to my fart. 😛

So those were 14 things I love! I’m sorry this post isn’t anything special but I wanted to do something for today but only worked something out at the last minute. 😛

What 14 things do you love? Please make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and whatever you’re doing today, have a lovely day. ^_^

September ’16 Favourites

I read the other day that there are now only 12 Monday’s left until Christmas. DAYUM! September is now over and I am gutted. It’s my favourite month for various reasons so I am sad to say goodbye to it for another year.

Autumn is now upon us and I am super excited for darker days, chilly evenings and an excuse for drinking nothing but hot chocolate!

So before I talk about why I love autumn (we shall save that for another post!) I better get on with what my favourites were for the month.

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream

This is probably my favourite thing from this month as it is just a perfect bog standard shower cream. I picked this up on a food shop when it was on offer for a £1 in Morrisons and I regret not buying a couple of them now considering they’ve gone up to £2.20! Due to us finishing the product sadly the bottle has now gone, but I’ve inserted a picture above so you get an idea of what it looks like. It’s a thick shower cream and due to this it foams up lovely in a sponge and a little goes a long way. Like pretty much all Palmolive shower creams this leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, as well as smelling beautiful! This doesn’t smell like a horrible artificial chocolate scent, it smells creamy and yummy. They also came out with a vanilla and strawberry version. I can see us stocking up on this as soon as we see it at a decent price again.

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in shade Vamped Up

Over the past year I have really gotten into my darker shades and I feel like most shades I buy now are either dark red, pink or purple. Of course when I eyed up these new lip paints by Maybelline it was either the red or the purple shade, I obviously picked up the latter. My mom actually told me about these and they are amazing! So pigmented and last ages. I wear this with a lip liner for both work and social and I love it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it throughout autumn and winter this year.

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream

I remember buying this bath cream for Dane as he loves the shower cream. I’m always having Lush baths in the house and although he doesn’t like taking baths often I wanted to get him something nice that he can use whenever he does fancy having one. You know what? I’ve been using this bath cream more than he has! I even picked up a bottle when I recently stayed in Chichester for a week and used it a couple of times. It creates lovely fluffy bubbles and is strong enough in scent that you can smell it on you hours later. Sadly the shower cream isn’t as good as that. I picked this up for a £1 in both Boots and Sainsburys so it’s a complete bargain!

  • Forever Young By Jean Pierre Pore Control Green Tea Facial Mask

I picked these up recently from Homesense on a whim that they sounded good, were cheap and the fact I’m obsessed with sheet masks these days! I took one with me to Chichester and used one when I came back too. These aren’t as great as the Korean sheet masks but for the price they’re a really nice treat that you can have more often. I decided to get the pore control ones so that both myself and Dane could give them a go. I don’t have big pores, but I do like to keep them clear is possible. I also love anything with green tea which is nice. I used these after scrubbing my face so that all the goodness from the mask can get into my skin. When it’s been a little warmer the past month these have been really nice to use. I recommend them!

  • Paco Rabbane Lady Million EDP

I’ve owned this perfume for quite a long time since my mom gave it to me. It reminds me of fluffy towels and freshly washed bedding, which I find really comforting. I’ve been wearing it for work various times throughout the month and it’s been a really nice transitioning scent from summer to autumn. It’s nice and strong too and I always get compliments on it which is always good.

So those were my favourites from September! Nothing mind blowing, although there were a few newbies on here.

What were you loving throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!

May ’16 Favourites

It’s June and it’s also a hella exciting month! Oh God… Did I really just say hella?! Anyway! More to come as to why it is exciting in a couple of days time. 😛 It’s also mine and Dane’s three year anniversary on the 8th, yay! Of course, more into that next week.

However, it is once again time to share my favourites from the previous month, and boy was it hard to narrow it down to five! For once I actually struggled to decide, but eventually I found my favourites, which I’m sharing with you today.

 photo May Favs_zpsteoddxyt.jpg

  • Johnson’s Bedtime Baby Bath (link)

Okay I know this is meant to be for babies, but there is something to me that is really comforting about Johnson’s original baby bath, as well as the bedtime one. Every time I have used the bedtime one before bed I have slept really early, and had a great nights sleep! So it doesn’t just work for babies, obviously. It’s just going to a real treat to keep using, as whilst I love using Twilight bath bomb by Lush before bed, I find this is a nice cheaper version that won’t break the bank.

  • Bourjois Paris Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer (link)

I am loving the Bourjois primers at the moment, the luminous one being the one out of the two (the other is the matte one) that I’ve been using pretty much everyday throughout May. Sadly it’s not pretty much run out, which is the only thing I am disappointed about, because at £10.99 a pop it’s a lot to fork out every month. I did however get this and the matte one on the 2 for £14 offer in May. Well I wish I had bought more as these are amazing primers, dare I say better than Benefit POREfessional? They really do matte my skin and this one leaves me with a nice healthy looking glow. You don’t need a lot either to get a matte affect. I just love it, but I think I’ll be waiting until another offer comes up where I can feel okay with splashing out £11… Still, it’s cheaper than Benefit! 😛

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade Redrum (link) (review can be read here)

I love my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, that is a fact and everyone I know, knows this! I wear them quite often and every time I do I always get compliments. This was one of my recent purchases and oh my, do I love it. It might be my favourite shade to date and out of this and Scorpio, I find myself wearing this one more. It’s a gorgeous Marilyn Monroe red shade, perfect for any time of year. I get nothing but compliments on it, and since recently buying Jeffree Star’s white liquid lipstick shade Drug Lord, I’ve been mixing it with all my liquid lipstick to create my own shades! I recently tried it with Redrum and it looks just like Doll Parts! So pleased!

  • Lush Love and Light Hand Cream (link) (review can be read here)

Now this is a hand cream I have come to love when I first bought it, and then when the winter months came in and my hands were really bad, I grew to dislike it due to the fact it wasn’t nourishing my hands as much as I wanted and hoped that it would. However, I began using this again at the start of May and my hands looked beautiful and soft. I was so damn happy! I popped some in a little pot and started taking it with me to work to use after washing my hands. Towards the end of May though my hands have started to look rough again… I don’t know if it’s due to the hand cream not working as well as it did at first, or due to something else. Either way I am disappointed… I love what this hand cream did for my hands again, but I won’t be buying a pot ever again.

  • DKNY MY NY Eau de Parfum (link)

I can’t even remember how long I’ve owned this for now… Must be three or so years now, gosh I feel old! I remember to this day my mom buying me the huge 100ml bottle as it was on an offer, and I’m probably only just halfway through it now. This is a strong scent and one you don’t need a lot of. It isn’t the nicest DKNY scent I have had, but it isn’t awful either. I just use it for work these days, and I get NOTHING but compliments on it! Which is always a good thing. The only thing I dislike about it is how huge the bottle is. It JUST about fits in my handbag, which isn’t exactly huge. It’s a lovely scent though, and perfect for the summer months that are looming.

So those were my five favourite beauty products this month!

What did you enjoy using throughout May? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time take care all, and I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

October Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it is now November! It only feels like yesterday when I started my masters, and that was well over a year ago now. I graduate the end of this month, and I have another holiday to look forward to with my dad. I have now began to notice it’s feeling colder now, and it’s time to wrap up in my winter coat. I cannot wait to team it up with my Dr Martens.

But for now, I am talking about my favourite from October. It was really hard finding five products to talk about this month to be honest, but after much thought I finally found them, and here they are.

  • The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Sugar Body Scrub.

After using up both of my most recent Lush body scrubs (Rub Rub Rub review and Ocean Salt review) I decided it was time to pick something new up. Whilst having a look around The Body Shop at their sale (as well as some present ideas for my boyfriend) I noticed that some of their previous summer range was in the sale, both Sweet Lemon and Vineyard Peach. So I picked up both of the scrubs, out of the two mind this one is proving to be the better of the two. After using it my skin feels silky soft and smelling delicious! I really wish this was a permanent product though! I’ll be making sure to try their other sugar body scrubs out in the future.

  • Philosophy Sugar Plum Fairy Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath.

I’ve owned this stuff since Christmas 2012 but I’ve only just opened it as I wanted to save it for Christmas, or even for summertime. It’s a gorgeous scented multi-purpose product from Philosophy which is a real treat. I’ve been using it mostly as a bubble bath for evenings when I really want a nice hot bath, but I don’t wish to use my Lush products. It leaves a nice gentle scent on the skin and a little bit of shimmer. It’s perfect for Christmas, and was a limited edition for Christmas too. I don’t actually think you can buy this anymore, which is a shame as I love it so damn much! If you can get your hands on this, I recommend it! You can check out my review from back when my blog first came to be!

  • Reese’s Lip Balm.

I didn’t think I would love this lip balm as much as I actually do. It was an impulse buy when me and my boyfriend popped into Primark about a month ago. I don’t even remember what we bought when we went there but alas, we were there. I spotted this on the till and for £1.50 my boyfriend picked one up for me. We love anything peanut butter flavoured, and as I LOVE Reese’s Pieces, he thought I would like this. It’s a petroleum jelly style lip balm that doesn’t just smell of the famous peanut butter cups, but even tastes of it! It’s not the most moisturising balm in the world, but it does the trick if I want to quickly apply something whilst on the go, before work, or even whilst I’m at home. I’m going to be buying some of these for people for Christmas, they’re just so amazing!

  • Philosophy Amazing Grace EDP.

Ooo two Philosophy products mentioned this month! This is one I got halfway through the month, and it’s one of my favourites out of the five this month. My mom picked this up on a special offer from QVC in a massive gift set, and kindly gave this perfume to me. Years ago I owned the Amazing Grace shower gel, and the body lotion. I used to use them both every day, and whenever I saw my gran she would always comment how lovely I smelt. So the scent always reminds me of her, so to finally own a perfume version of it is just a dream come true! I wore it loads the first week I got it, and as it’s a huge 125ml bottle, it will definitely last me ages! I recommend the Philosophy perfumes if you fancy trying something new, especially as the grace scents are really gentle and soft. Perfect for daytime wear.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Masochist.

This is by far my favourite product this month, so I’ve made sure to save the best until last. I am due to review this at some point this week, if not next week! But I have worn this quite a lot throughout October and without giving too much away, it is by far one of the best lipsticks I have ever bought. MAC is my favourite for lipsticks, don’t get me wrong they won’t ever be replaced but Jeffree is a really close second. They last ages, the shades are out of the world (especially the new Christmas ones due for release on Friday!), and they are just amazing. I cannot wait to own more, I really can’t. I don’t want to say too much on here as my review will explain it all.

So, those were my favourites from October. To think there is only one more monthly favourites post left, and then I’ll have my 2015 favourites up on my blog. It’s been such a fast paced year and before we know it, it’ll be 2016 and I’ll be turning 26. OH WOE!

What have been your favourites for October? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and hope you had a great weekend.

February Empties

DSC_00050

Okay, I am well aware of how late this post is (nearly 2 weeks to be exact!) and I apologise for that. I did mentioned on this post here as to why I’ve been so quiet this month so far, although I am trying to change that now.

So I’ve finally sat down at my laptop away from the distractions of my iPad and my new Nintendo 2DS to get this post, as well as another written up.

Let’s FINALLY get on with this post!

DSC_00060

  • Sainsbury’s Fresh Mint Mouthwash.

This was a quick and cheap purchase I made one evening a month or so ago when I popped into Sainsbury’s after work and it was definitely just a one-off purchase. This wasn’t a bad mouthwash, it certainly did the job but it was just a tad too alcoholic for my mouth as it would burn is used alone, so I’d end up mixing it with water. It didn’t cost much, probably no more than £1 and it certainly did the job as it left my breath fresh and my teeth felt clean and lovely. I might buy this again in future if I’m need for something cheap and cheerful, but otherwise it’s a no from me.

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I’ve mentioned this on various posts before, if you wish to read about it, go search for it above. 🙂

  • Mandara Spa Moisturising Bath Essence in Amber Heaven.

This bath essence is beautiful and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before in the past! It has a lovely warm scent to it, due to the amber inside of it and when it’s put into the bath under running water it creates lovely smelling bubbles really quickly. By the time my bath is fully run, it’s also filled with soft bubbles! I don’t know how much this cost as my Mom bought it me about a year ago after a trip to Sainsbury’s, but I know from checking out the Mandara Spa products before they aren’t exactly cheap! This being said, I was using this bath essence once a week as both a bubble bath, as well as a shower gel. My Mom bless her saw that I had run out and bought me another one, as she knows how much I love it. Even if she hadn’t of bought me this again herself, I would have picked it up again as it’s a lovely product, smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling and smelling lovely.

DSC_0007

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Day Cream.

I bought this day cream back in November when I purchased one of the Seaweed sets from The Body Shop. Although this is a good face cream, I wouldn’t buy it again. When I went into The Body Shop and got my skin type tested and such, I came out as Seaweed, although since then I don’t think I am this at all, my reason for this is due to the fact this face cream at times was actually stinging my skin. Not good! This didn’t happen all the time, once a week maximum but it still bothered me and eventually I couldn’t wait to see the back of this product! Overall I’m  pleased with how this DID help my skin as well as how long this tub lasted me was great. I have really liked trying out the set I bought from The Body Shop and soon enough when some of my other products run out I’ll be buying myself another set to try. I would buy this again as it was good for the majority, but for now I’d like to try something that may work better with my skin such as aloe vera or tea tree.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I LOVE this shave gel so much and it’s all I’ll use to shave with now, and I recommend it to every lady out there who shaves! I’ve written about this many times before, so go and search for it above if you wish to know more.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask.

I love this mud mask, it really does help when I’m about to, or just after I’ve broken out as it helps to calm down any spots that are about to come up as it prevents redness. As well as that it helps to dry up any current spots. For less than a £1 it’s a great mask to use once or twice a month and at the time of writing up this post, I think I’m going to pop one of these on after I’ve finished writing this up, as I’m a bit spotty at the moment and it’s driving me mad! xD

So those were my empties from February! I apologise again for it being late, but I did explain on a previous post which is linked above as to why I’ve been so quiet lately.

Here’s to keeping busy and live with my blog again!

Until next time, take care all, it’s good to be back. 🙂

August Empties

DSC_0018

Wow, I don’t think I have ever used up so many products for an empties post before! I used up loads throughout August because I want to try and bring in some nice new things to try when the colder months start to come upon us soon. Plus I want room around my bath as well as in my cupboards. Glad to have the extra space now to be honest. 😛

DSC_0019

  • Imperial Leather For Men Purify Hair & Body Wash.

Yes I know this is for men but this is such a lovely shower gel to own. It reminds me of when I was little and would smell all my Dad’s various aftershave and lovely smelling men. It only costs a £1 and lasts for quite a while. It has a very fresh masculine smell and I tend to use this if I’m feeling tired and grumpy as it just gives me that energy that I need to get me through the day. The smell lasts on your skin for ages too. I usually pick one of these up for my Dad as this is actually his, not mine but I finished the bottle off for him the other day as I plan to buy him a new bottle next week. Get this if you like masculine smells or if your boyfriend/husband keeps using your shower gel.

  • Imperial Leather Precious Night Blooming Jasmine & Cotton Milk Body Wash Gel.

My Mom actually brought this up to the bathroom after saying she didn’t want it anymore and thought I might like trying it. It was okay, but I don’t know if I would but this myself. I’ve used Imperial Leather’s body wash gels before and they’re really nice and easy to use if you need to quickly have a wash or want to shave your legs with something nice. I tried to shave my legs with this and it was terrible, the gels aren’t as good for this as they used to be. It smelt really nice and was a real treat to use after a busy day at work if I just wanted to jump in the shower and jump back out again. I remember seeing that Imperial Leather have a lemon and lime version of this, I’d love to try it so I think I might pick one up to try in the future. Glad to see the back of this though, was clogging up the side of my bath!

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser For Dry Skin.

This was mentioned in my May favourites and although I loved it back then, I’m glad to see it in my bin! This product was great to be perfectly honest and was an essential when I was getting ready to go to work and out and about. I didn’t need to worry about moisturising everyday and took a weight off of my mind. However after a while this just seemed like a chore to use and it got left for a while. I remembered it this month though and thought it was time to finish the bottle and throw it away. I didn’t have much left and I’m rather glad. I have considered re-purchasing this but I think I need to stop being so damn lazy and just start moisturising my skin again. I do recommend this to people who don’t have time to moisturise as it’s a great product!

DSC_0020

  • Tesco Gentle Cleansing Bath Bubbles.

This was an amazing product and I know I’ll be re-purchasing ASAP. I could be less of a stingy bitch and opt for Johnson’s Baby Bubbles but I thought these did a great job for the money. It smells just like Johnson’s and reminds me of when I was a little girl, something that is comforting to bathe in after a rough day. After a while I was using this as a shower gel and then eventually as a shaving gel/foam. This lathered up really well on the skin and made shaving easier than it usually is. I’m actually rather sad that this has run out now, but as I said I’ll be buying a new bottle as soon as I can.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo.

I’m really sad to see this finished, especially as I can’t afford another bottle. When my Mom gave me this I couldn’t wait to see the back of it as I just couldn’t get along with it, but after a while I realised what I could do to make it work and key presto, we worked together in harmony. This shampoo was lovely and smelt just like oranges and lemons. You didn’t need much to get a good lather, just very wet hair and a 50 pence piece amount would go all over my hair (which as you know is really long and thick!) which makes a really nice change. I would buy this shampoo again in future, but I’ve got my eye on one I really want to try out when I next have money. But this left my hair soft, smooth and with lots of shine.

  • Tesco Moisturising Bath Bubbles.

This is pretty much the same as the gentle bath bubbles, only not as universal. I tried to shave using this and it didn’t work whatsoever and left me with that horrible, uncomfortable pain you get with dry shaving. This was lovely to use in the bath too, as this left my skin baby soft and the same was accomplished when I used it as a shower gel too. I might re-purchase this in the future, but I’d find myself going for a scented bubble bath over this one to be honest. Not a bad product though!

  • Carex Nature Protect Hand Wash.

As regular readers will know, I love Carex hand washes and I also have eczema so I’m always on the search for a hand wash that will calm it down a little. This hand wash smelt amazing as it contains manuka honey and oat milk, which is a smell I love quite frankly but its “moistursing action” as it claims to have on the back, was none existent for my skin. From day one of using this hand wash my hands continued to be dry and flaky, which isn’t an attractive thing at all! I couldn’t wait to use this up and as soon as I found the Cola Bottles and Strawberry Laces versions by Carex this hand wash was quickly finished and replaced. Won’t be buying it again as it just did NOTHING for my skin, infact I feel like it made my hands worse as since it being in my empties bag my skin has improved. I’m sure this is just my skin trolling me and not the actual product by the way.

  • Carex Cola Bottles Hand Wash.

I’ve mentioned this before on an empties list here  and it’ll continue to find its way here until the sad day comes upon us when Carex discontinue it… Which I hope isn’t soon. It smells just like fizzy cola bottles, makes my skin look and feel nice and it’s just perfect for children. Nothing more I can say about this really and I know I’ll continue to re-purchase it!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I LOVE this eye balm and I can’t wait to get my hands on another tube. This stuff is quite pricey for a 15ml tube but it lasts absolutely AGES! It’s a cooling balm that leaves your eyes feeling more awake and cooled, perfect for if your eyes are tired and ache after a crap nights sleep. You need the tiniest amount underneath your eyes and just gently dab into the skin using your ring finger. I’ll be reviewing this in future as it’s just too good not to. I have mentioned this before on my March and June favourites if you would like to read more about it.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Crystallised Honey & Passion Flower Face Mask.

This mask was VILE and by far the worse one I have ever used. You warm it up, apply, leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash off. I decided to have a bath when I used this so left it in my bath for about 15 minutes whilst I shaved and washed my face ready to pop the mask on. The mask was a gel textured when warm which I thought was odd, so I popped it on. After wearing the mask for 5 minutes I tasted something sweet on the corners of my mouth and when I looked in the mirror to see if it was the mask, I was shocked to see the whole mask was melting off of my face! I immediately washed it off and two days later I broke out in terrible spots. Thanks a lot face mask. I won’t be buying this again, that’s for sure!

So those were all my empties from August! I’m not sure if I’ll have that many again for a while, but I’m sure I’ll have enough to make a post in October.

I can’t believe it’s September already, can you?

What products did you use up this month? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care and I hope everyone has a good weekend!
