April Favourites ’20

Can you believe that it’s May already? Damn where is 2020 going, apart from down the pan due to Coronavirus… Sorry for the negativity at the start of my post, but come on… I’m sure you’ll all agree? ๐Ÿ˜›

How are you all doing during the lock down, both in the UK, as well as where you’re from? Personally whilst I’m enjoying being and working from home, it’s starting to get to me a little. I miss seeing my family and friends, as well as going out for leisure without a care in the world. It sucks feeling anxious whilst going out to buy milk and bread.

However, there are some plus sides to this. I’m getting to spend a little bit more time with Dane, I’m saving money but most of all I am starting to do things with my friends (especially my best friend) and that makes me happy. ๐Ÿ™‚ Every cloud has a silver lining.

Before I start this months favourites post, I just want to say that I’m her for you, as a friend if you need to talk. Right now we are living in uncertain and scary times and my own mental health is being affected right now. I don’t wish to think people are suffering alone in silence. Remember, my email is always open, as well as my DM’s via Twitter and Instagram. We will get through this, we will. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyhoo, on with this months favourites! I’m not going to lie… I kind of struggled. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Imperial Leather Shake Your Bambootay Shower Gel.

I’m sorry I have another Imperial Leather shower gel up this month, but I bought quite a few before the lock down, okay? ๐Ÿ˜› I much prefer this one to the unicorn one I spoke about in my favourites last month, purely for the scent. This has a fruity and fresh scent, which I’ve really been loving using in the mornings before I start work as I find it wakes me up and gets me ready for the day. Plus both me and Dane have found this really moisturising on the skin, which has been really nice. I’m glad I bought a couple of bottles of this now, as I really do like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Boots Eye Drops for Dry & Irritated Eyes.

I’ve owned these eye drops since my trip to Japan and I still have loads of product left in the bottle. I love using eye drops everyday before I start work/the day in general as I feel it really wakes me up and refreshes my eyes. These have been so essential during the lock down, as I find it just makes me feel that little bit more ready for the day… Especially as I’m working from home. I honestly recommend eye drops to everyone, especially if your eyes feel tired when you wake up in the morning. I find a couple of drops make a huge difference.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Aloe Moisturiser for Combination Skin (review).

I honestly love this moisturiser so much and I’m hesitant to change from this to something else, as I feel like I’ve found something that works so good for my skin. My morning skincare routine has changed during the lock down and I have gone from doing a full routine, to under half of it. I’m only really using my moisturiser, and occasionally my serum and eye gel if I feel I need them. I don’t see the point in using all my products up everyday… This moisturiser has really helped my skin out lately, as my face has felt so tight and dry. I’ve actually had to buy another bottle of this, as I’m really close to this one running out now. I’ve linked back to my review of this from back in 2017. Yes, I have been using this product for 3 years now and I have zero regrets.

  • Peacci Nail Varnish in Ophelia.

I couldn’t not mention this nail varnish this month as I have loved it so much. I actually get my nails painted with gel by my lovely nail tech, but obviously due to the lock down, this hasn’t been an option for me… I get my nails painted with The Gel Bottle, who also have a sister company called Peacci. Peacci created the same gorgeous colours that The Gel Bottle do BUT in a nail varnish formula. I can’t get my nails done by my nail tech, so I’m doing myself with the nail varnish alternative for the time being. I picked up two colours, Valentina and Ophelia. Valentina is a pink holographic shade, whilst Ophelia is a dark nude pink colour. I’ve worn these two shades together in their gel form and it’s probably my favourite nail manicure I’ve had to date, hence why I bought their nail varnish versions. I’m currently wearing Ophelia and it’s gorgeous. It’s lasted ages and compliments my skin tone. I’m hoping to do a review of these and Peacci in the future. Would you like to see it? If not on a blog post, maybe an IGTV video?

  • Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser.

I’ve mentioned this baby moisturiser before on my blog and here I am again, sharing it with you all and why it’s amazing. I have said many a time on my blog, I have eczema on my hands and it would seem that the older I get, the worse it has gotten. It got to a really bad point before my trip to Japan in late 2019 when I had a massive rough patch on my right hand. I ended up going to the doctors as peoples comments on it were upsetting me. It turned out to be dermatitis and I still need to go to a special doctor for more tests in case there is more to it. Although this patch has cleared up at the moment, it was around at the start of April. The Body Shop hand lotion I was using wasn’t enough and I started using my Childs Farm moisturiser again. This has really helped my hands and at the time of writing this, they’re lovely and soft. ๐Ÿ™‚ I honestly cannot recommend this enough! It isn’t just for hands either, it can be used all over the body.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

Not going to lie. Tiger King was something I had to watch twice and I’m glad I did. Everyone and their cat (ha!) has watched Tiger King and discussed it in full. It’s a Netflix series all about the breeding of tigers in America and some crime that happened during that time revolving around Joe Exotic. I watched it once and I was very much “What the fuck did I just watch? I don’t actually understand what happened.” A week later, I watched it again and understood (kind of…) what had happened. I was surprised though. I have to say here, I am pissed off at anyone who is making merchandise from this and selling. Don’t sell shit based on animal cruelty, potential murder and all around crime. It’s not cool.

Favourite Movie –ย The Cat Returns.

As we all know, all the Studio Ghibli films are now on Netflix, which is amazing! Me and Dane own them all on DVD anyway, but it’s nice to have them on Netflix to watch as and when we fancy watching them. We recently put on The Cat Returns to watch together, as this is one of Dane’s favourites. I always forget how much I love Natoru (in the gif), as well as many other characters. I was surprised there wasn’t more merch in Japan to do withย The Cat Returns.

Favourite Book – Urgh. I don’t read anymore haha.

Nope. I didn’t read again this month. Honestly guys, I’m just not finding the time between working, playing games, chilling on video chats with friends and more. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Favourite Song – “Gimme a Minute” – PVRIS.

PVRIS released a new single from their upcoming album this month and I haven’t stopped listening to it to be honest with you. I love everything about it, including the lyrics and the electropop/alternative rock sound that I adore. I only discovered PVRIS a year ago and I have really fallen in love with them. I honestly can’t wait for their new album to come out in July. It was meant to be out today but that was pushed back due to coronavirus… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Favourite Game – Still Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Of course this is going to be here for another month… I mean, why wouldn’t it? It’s officially been a month since the new Animal Crossing game came out and I am still playing it everyday. I have all my villagers on my island now, as well as 4 I moved in thanks to amiibo cards. I have started to terraform my island now and I’m starting to get into the swing of things. I really do love this game and I especially love playing with my friends. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, those are my favourites from April! Again, I can’t believe we are already into May. It’s crazy how quick the past month has flown by, but I’m honestly going to blame coronavirus for that. I don’t mind how quick it’s going. The sooner things can go back to normal, the better.

What were your favourites from April? Also, how are you all doing during this time? What are you doing to keep yourself sane? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and stay safe!

2019 Top 3 Favourites

It’s the first day of 2020 and I am spending it in the laziest way possible… Sat on my cuddle chair, in my pyjamas and wrapped in a blanket. I don’t think I can get any cosier to be perfectly honest with you. ๐Ÿ˜›

I decided to do an overall top favourites post for 2019, as December doesn’t have anything special on it that my January 2020 favourites won’t miss out on in a months time. I didn’t so a December 2018 favourites last year and no one missed it to be fair.

I really love writing my favourites post, I can reflect over the month on things I loved and I enjoy writing about them too and sharing with you all. However, 2019 wasn’t a good year for reading for me. I seem to have been too busy seeing friends or chilling on games, my phone or watching something on the TV… Which is a shame. 2020 is the year I will be trying to read a hell of a lot more! I do miss reading my favourite manga series as soon as the books come out in the UK, but at least 2020 means I will haveย more to read now… See, past Nat was doing future Nat a massive favour! ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyhoo, no more nattering, it’s time to show off my op 3 from 2019, as well as runner ups. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really hope you enjoy the first post of 2020!

March Favourites ’19

We are already into the fourth month of the year and it’s so crazy how quickly the year is flowing by! As I mentioned recently in a post about March, the month was like a roller coaster in both my blogging and personal life. I did so much blog related work (events wise) throughout March and I even got myself a new job, which I started today!

So yeah March was a memorable month for 2019 and one I won’t forget for a very long time. Due to this my blog hasn’t had as many posts per week as it usually does due to the fact I’ve been so busy! I’m hoping to be a little quieter throughout April so more posts will be up on my blog.

I plan to try and catch up on gifted posts from March and then I have LOADS of post ideas to pop up on my blog, so make sure to keep your eyes on those.

Anyhoo, it’s time for me to share my favourites from March.

  • Imperial Leather Mermazing Bath Soak.

I picked up this bath soak on a random food shop at the start of March and throughout the month I loved using this after pole dance fitness classes! Sometimes there’s nothing better to do than come home and run a lovely hot bath to have a good soak in… To be fair I really want a bath right now as I’m freezing! This bath soak has Fijian water and lotus flower in which smells so refreshing but also reminds me of a manly scent my dad would have used in the bath whilst I was growing up. I just love this bath soak, I’m just sad that it’s limited edition.

  • MUA Pro Base Soothe & Cool Primer Stick.

I picked this up in March whilst shopping in Superdrug with my friend Sophie (hey you!) and although it’s up on my favourites this month, I do still have some mixed thoughts on it. I’ll review it in the future! ๐Ÿ˜› The reason it’s on this list this month however is due to the fact it works really well as a cooling stick and due to this it has done wonders to my under eye area. I can use this throughout the day whenever my eyes feel tired and sore and get an instant wake up with this cooling stick. It will be perfect for hotter days when your skin just needs to feel cooled and refreshed. Also it’s at the stupidly low price of ยฃ5.00 so you won’t break the bank if you head over to Milk Makeup and buy their version for ยฃ20 more… ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in shade Black Forest.

This was a very spontaneous purchase and I picked it up on a 3 for 2 so this was actually the free item, woohoo! I love the Barry M nail paints as I find they last ages for how much they cost and the price you pay for them is always good. I’ve not used the gelly nail paints for years and forgot how lovely they actually are. I love a good black nail polish so I knew I would love this one! I’ve worn it a few times throughout March and has really loved it! ๐Ÿ˜€ There’s nothing wrong with rocking black nail polish, especially if you were an emo/goth kid like I was! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • L’Oreal Paris Infallible Magic Essence Drops.

This are some magic essence drops I heard about throughout March from both YouTubers and bloggers, so I knew I had to give them a go myself. Like the cooling stick I currently have some mixed views on this product, but until the cooling stick, I’m not sure if I want to review this yet or not. These drops are a dark blue (as you’ll see!) which is said to be good for brightening the skin and making it look younger and more youthful. I’m unsure if they’re actually brightening my skin at the moment but they’re definitely making my skin feel lovely after use. I wish I could find some primer jobs that mattified but didn’t cost a bomb to buy.

  • Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser with Shea & Cocoa Butter.

So last month in my February favourites (which you can read here) I mentioned how I’d picked up the Aveeno daily moisture lotion to use on my hands as my eczema had gotten worse. This being said the Aveeno didn’t seem to work all that well after a while, which is something my hands tend to do. They get used to a product and then stop it working on my skin. This being said though, I don’t think I was ever going to have much luck with Aveeno and typical this happened after I spoke about it on my favourites post last month. I took to Twitter for help (my handle is @maybeecoffee) to see if I could get anymore suggestions from people and most were saying Childs Farm. Sooo I picked up a bottle and it has done wonders for my skin since! A little bit of this baby moisturiser goes such a long way and due to that it lasts agggggges! I use it every morning before I go out, as well as on and off around the house when I’m at home. It’s honestly perfect and I’m so glad I went with peoples suggestions on picking it up.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – 24 Hours in Police Custody.

It was kind of hard to pick a show this month and not because I haven’t watched any or anything like that, but because I’ve watched so many various different ones it was just so hard to choose! One that stood out the most isย 24 Hours in Police Custodyย purely because I love that show so damn much! Every time a new series starts I get so excited for each episode… Which in itself sounds a little fucked up considering it’s about crime… BUT of course I love when they get the bad guys in the end and they get sentenced. I’m pretty sure this week is episode 4 and I can’t believe we are already 4 weeks into the new series! If you’ve never watched this series before then you so should, it’s worth a watch.

Favourite Film – Captain Marvel.

Me and Dane went to watch this a couple of days after it was released and I actually loved it far more than I thought I was going to! Without revealing too much I’ll try and explain why I loved it so much. First of all the soundtrack, it’s amazing and I’d totally buy it! It’s heavily 90’s grunge music and to coincide with that so is some of the fashion shown throughout the movie too, as well as band posters scattered throughout locations in the film. I felt so nostalgic watching it and as a fan of both grunge fashion and music, it made me so happy!a As well as that the film was just so good, the only fault I had with it was the first 20 minutes seemed so drab and boring, but it really does pick up and I can understand why those first boring minutes were necessary for the film overall. If you haven’t watched it yet, please do! ๐Ÿ˜€

Favourite Book – Erm…

Did I have time to read? Did I fuck. Now with my new job I’ll have a lot more time to read during my lunch breaks so I am actually so damn excited to be catching up on loads of manga that has been backlogged in my collection lately.

Favourite Music – “11 Minutes” by Yungblud and Halsey Feat. Travis Barker and “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco.

I spent a lot of my time listening to KERRANG! Radio in March and this song came on quite a lot and featured heavily as various presenters favourite track of the week and I can understand why. It’s such a sad song with it’s lyrics, but it’s such a lovely song all the same due to the catchy tune etc. The singing by Yungblud and Halsey work so well together, alongside Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker in the background. It’s such an amazing collaboration and it’s fast turned into my favourite song.

Alongside “11 Minutes” I’ve also featured “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco as although this song has been out since August 2018, it’s really grown on me lately and I also feel like it’s only really been played recently too. It played on the way to and from both of my interviews for my new job and it was the song I was listening to after I found out I’d been given the job. So whenever I hear it now it reminds me of that and thus has such a lovely memory tied to it! I used to love hearing it loads in my old job, so moving forward I’ll be downloading it soon so I can make sure I hear it to and from my drive to work.

Favourite Game – Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Granted this game only came out at the end of March but I don’t really feel like I played all that many games throughout March as I was just too busy! I played Pokemon GO and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp loads due to how much I travelled to and back from Coventry, but other than that… Nothing. Since I picked up this game a few days ago I have played it loads and really fallen in love with Yoshi all over again! I never played any of the Yoshi games growing up, but always wanted to. I played Yoshi’s New Island but I just couldn’t get into it. I tried the demo for Yoshi’s Crafted World and fell in love, so I knew I had to pick it up! Plus it’s a two player game, so Dane can play it with me!

So that’s all my favourites for March! As I’ve said various times on my blog lately, March was a crazy month and as much as I loved it, I’m really glad for a new month due to how crazy it was. April will hopefully be a bit more relaxed, but this being said it’s going to be just as mad.

Dane’s 30th is this month and I already have most weekends planned with stuff. OH and we mustn’t forget it’s Easter this month too. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyhoo, what were your favourites from March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you didn’t get too many April Fools jokes made on you today. ๐Ÿ˜›
