September Favourites ’18

I say this every month but honestly where is this year going and how is it already October?! I’m so excited for autumn and winter though, because as much as I love the warmer weather, I hate it in the UK! People just don’t know how to deal with it, including myself. I never have any decent summer clothes for the UK either and I was baking at work and home. URGH!

September really did fly by and I honestly do not know where the month went. Well to be fair I had a week off work so that fly by, which is always the way it works! 😛 That is definitely my last bit of holiday until April now. 😛

So with a busy month, I have SO MANY FAVOURITES TO SHARE! I sometimes struggle to be honest with you, but not this month. 😛 I hope you like this months favourites post anyhoo!

  • SBC Collagen Bath & Shower Creme.

This was a shower creme my mom recently gave to me. She loves SBC and when I lived at home I used to use the brand quite a lot. Since moving out a few years ago I’ve not touched it since, not until she recently gave me this MASSIVE bottle of collagen bath and shower creme! I use this daily now and it only takes a little bit of this and it goes such a long way. It smells floral yet sweet, I can’t quite put my finger on the scent but I really do like it, it’s different. This makes my skin feel so moisturised and fresh after use. I really do love it and so happy my mom gave it to me.

  • Barry M All in One Nail Paint.

This has been one of my favourite base and top coats for years, YEARS! My old bottle of this went out of date and was unusable, which sucks. I finally remembered to pick up a new bottle and this helped my nail polishes last SO DAMN LONG, which in turn made me so happy. I’ve been struggling to get my polishes to last longer than a day but thanks to using this it’s caused them to last just under a week. I love it and I don’t think I’ll use my nail polishes without it ever again.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bubble Bar (review here).

If there is a new bath product I love to the moon and back, it’s definitely the coconut bubble bar from The Body Shop. I feel like I’ve spoken loads about The Body Shop on my blog lately and I do apologise for that, but meh I love the brand so much and it’s thanks to me rediscovering it that has helped me start to look after my skin properly once again. These bubble bars are a real treat but I’ve used them quite a few times throughout September. It’s just made me realise how excited I am for the colder weather and coming home to a nice hot bath after a long day. I really hope The Body Shop release some limited edition scents for Christmas! I’ve linked it where the name of the product is, but I recently reviewed this, so you can check it out.

  • Barry M Molten Metal Celestial Silver Nail Paint.

When I picked up the Barry M all in one nail paint I picked up a few other bits and pieces too. It turned out I qualified for a 3 for 2 offer so I quickly ran back to the Barry M stand and picked up this gorgeous nail paint! This is part of the molten metal collection, which I own a couple of nail paints from already (you can check out the review for the holographic one here) and they’re pretty awesome. I’d seen pictures of this shade on Instagram and it is so damn pretty! I wore it during my week off work and it was so lovely to wear. I got so many compliments on it. I really need to paint my nails with it again, as well as review it. 😛

  • Carex Unicorn Magic Hand Wash.

I picked this up at the start of September as I found it in Savers. I remember hearing about this scent from Carex for AGES but could never find it anywhere! So when I found both the hand wash and the shower and bath I picked a couple of each up. I was going to mention the shower and bath but I feel like the hand wash has been used so much more. It’s such a lovely scent, which is of palma violets! I’ve never been a massive fan of the sweets, but I do really like the scent. I don’t know if this hand wash is drying my skin out of not, as I’ve always been hit and miss with Carex hand washes. I don’t care though, I love it so damn much and it’s going to be a part of my bathroom from now on!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story Season 7 Cult.

Before and during our week off I made sure that me and Dane finished catching up on American Horror Story. I would have mentioned season 6 too, but that was such a bag of shit I couldn’t even believe people enjoyed it. Season 7 which is Cult was AMAZING though and I loved it so much! I loved Evan Peter’s character, even if he was a psycho! I also loved his sister Winter too and especially loved what she wore throughout the show. It was just a great season, even if it was a little bat shit crazy… But which season of AHS ISN’T bat shit crazy? 😛 I need to start watching the new season as it’s currently airing, but it’s trying to find it to be honest.

Favourite Film – Christoper Robin.

Oh man I was so happy to have a date evening with Dane and this film was definitely that. I cried so many times throughout this and as soon as it comes out on DVD and Bluray I’ll be picking it up! It was such a lovely film and definitely one that I thought was made for adults over children. Pooh was adorable and definitely one of my favourite characters alongside Eeyore. The humour was just so dry and hilarious all at the same time! If I wasn’t crying, I was laughing. At one point I was sad for Pooh and turned to Dane to say, “Oh poor Pooh” and my voice broke as I said it was I was trying not to cry. It was hilarious! If you haven’t seen this film yet and get the chance to, honestly go and see it.

Favourite Book – Himouto! Umaru-Chan.

New month, new manga to read! I’ve not read loads of this, but enough for me to mention it here this month. I LOVED the anime so as soon as I found out the manga was FINALLY coming out in the UK I decided to order both volume 1 and 2 so I could read it. There are so many volumes coming out over a short period of time too which is pretty awesome and I love it! It’s a pretty cool manga and what you’d expect if you’ve watched the anime. It’s definitely made me chuckle when I’ve read it before going to work.

Favourite Song/Artist/Album – Myth & Roid – Voracity.

Me and Dane discovered this song thanks to the anime Overlord and we love it so damn much! We listen to it almost daily and it’s so damn catchy. I can’t remember where we were or what we were doing but I kept humming it whilst we were out and it was starting to bug me after a while. 😛 I need to find more music from this band as their sound is pretty awesome. Definitely give it a listen!

Favourite Game – Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.

I hate that I go into phases when it comes to playing games and this is definitely a game I’ve played on and off for God knows how long! I do really love playing it but sometimes I just don’t have time and then other times I’ll have LOADS of time to play it! It’s so bizarre. Anyway, I’ve finally sort of got into this game and I really do love playing it. I feel like a mini detective/solicitor and it’s pretty cool. I only paid about £7.00 for it too when I picked it up, which is pretty good. Now I’m talking about it, I actually really want to go and play it.

So those were my favourites from September. I’m pretty excited for October as I plan to start my Christmas shopping and of course we have Halloween and Bonfire Night coming up, which is always good. 😛

Do you have plans for both of those things yet? What were your favourites from September too? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Wish List Wednesday – The Body Shop

I wasn’t planning on doing a wish list Wednesday post for quite a while, but recently The Body Shop came out with their limited edition banana range and I NEED it in my life! I was actually going to order them over the weekend, but I’m leaving it until payday as I need to be good.

So I thought this would be the right time to talk about the banana collection on a wish list Wednesday post, as well as talk about some bath goodies The Body Shop have out now!

  • The Body Shop Banana Shower Cream – (link)

As soon as I heard about The Body Shop bringing out this shower cream, I was so excited! Finally they had listened to me (obviously they didn’t… :P) and my cries for a banana range, other than the hair care! I used to love the shampoo due to the scent but I stopped using it as it didn’t do anything for my hair. Sadly the banana range is only limited edition, but I’ll make sure to stock up due to that! When pay day hits I’ll be ordering one, maybe two of these to try out!

  • The Body Shop Mango Bath Bomb – (link)

I recently found out that The Body Shop now stock bath products and as I’ve recently stopped buying from Lush, I’ve been on the look out for somewhere new to get my bath time treats. Christmas 2016 They brought out some little bath fizzers which I tried and loved! I love the sound of mango though, especially for summertime and the best bit about these? They’re super cheap and affordable!

  • The Body Shop Banana Yogurt – (link)

I’m not someone who moisturises. I have been on and off in the past but these days I’m not arsed. Why? Because it makes me feel hot and sticky and due to that I HATE it! In the past I’ve given The Body Shop’s body sorbets and I loved them. I just felt like they weren’t moisturising my skin, which is a shame. The body yogurts sound similar to the sorbets but much more moisturising! I’m definitely going to pick one up to have a go with. I love the smell of banana so much and I’ve heard this smells of foam banana sweets, yay!

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bath Bubble – (link)

Not only do The Body Shop now sell bath bombs, but they do bubble bars too! This is super exciting as I LOVE bubble bars! I especially love that they sell one in coconut as this is one of my favourite scents from The Body Shop. They have another two scents too but they’re both bleh! I’m definitely going to give this bath bubble a go and like the bath bombs, they’re at an affordable price.

  • The Body Shop Passionberry Lip Balm – (link)

I don’t really wear many lipsticks anymore, at least not at the moment anyway! I love wearing lip balm and rings and I’m always on the hunt for something colourful and conditioning. I know The Body Shop ones are pretty good and at a good price. There’s a couple of different flavours and shades but I like this purple passion berry one the most.

  • The Body Shop Banana Body Butter – (link)

If there is one product I hate by The Body Shop it’s their body butters! I’ve owned a couple in the past and using them has been such a misery for me. They’re just too thick and I always ended up throwing them away, giving them away or using them as hand butters. If I was to buy this banana body butter I’d use it as the latter, a hand butter. My hands get really dry and whilst L’Occitane helps them, I would like to find something else that helps them too, especially if it’s banana scented!

  • The Body Shop Green Tea Bath Bomb – (link)

The final product on this wish list is yet another bath bomb! I’ve not tried any of the green tea range from The Body Shop but I have smelt it in the past and it smells so refreshing and summery! It’d be nice to use this bath bomb on a hot summer evening to relax and unwind. Again, these bath bombs are affordable so I wouldn’t feel guilty picking it up.

So those are The Body Shop products that I have on my wish list/future purchasing list. I’m going to wait until I get a decent discount code or venture in a store before I pick anything up.

Have you got your eye on any goodies from The Body Shop? Let me know in the comments what you want to pick up!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week.

October Favourites ’17

It’s definitely and rapidly becoming my favourite time of year! It’s getting darker earlier now, we get an “extra hour” in bed, Halloween was yesterday, Bonfire Night is over the weekend AND Christmas is going to be here before we know it.

It’s a new month, November at that which can only mean one thing, it’s time for a new favourites post. It also means Christmas is looming, AHH! 😀

Let’s just jump straight into this months favourites.

  • Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo.

I picked this shampoo up not long after I got back from holiday. I knew I was short of the Liz Earle shampoo I use so went to order some more, only to find out that Boots doesn’t appear to be stocking it anymore! I know I can get it elsewhere… But at £10 a bottle I wanted to try and pick something up a little lighter on my monies. This was definitely cheaper and it’s amazing for the price too! I’ve found it’s really helped my hair stay cleaner for longer, as well as look and feel soft and healthy. The Liz Earle one did too, but I just felt like it didn’t leave my hair feeling as clean as this one does! It also carries a gorgeous coconut scent which reminds me of Fuerteventura.

  • Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT.

I’ve owned this perfume quite a while now and when I first bought it I loved it, but after a while I fell out of love with it… I found that whilst it smelt amazing, due to it being a toilette that the scent wouldn’t last as long as I wanted it to. This being said it’s also really nice to use a light perfume and it’s one I wore to work one day and it’s just stuck in my handbag since. I’ll probably end up switching it up soon, as I always tend to do, but I am trying to use up some of my older perfumes so I can make way for any new ones I wish to try.

  • Nails Inc Rainbow Wishes Nail Polish.

This is one part of the Unicorn Nail Polish Duo Kit and although I love both shades just as much, I prefer this one out of the two. I love wearing it on my weekends off of work as it looks so pretty without being over the top. I think I’ll wear this Bonfire Night alongside the other shade from the duo.

  • Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Paint in shade Pop Up (review here).

I haven’t worn my Barry M lip paints much since buying them, which is a shame as they’re actually amazing! My mental health hasn’t been too great towards the end of October so to try and cheer myself up I wore this shade quite a lot and I forgot what a gorgeous cherry red it is! I know I’m going to wear the hell out of it throughout the festive period!

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream.

Ages ago when these shower creams first came out I made sure to stock up on them whilst the were a £1 each and after stocking up on those I bought LOADS of other shower cream/gel. Finally those are all gone and used and I can start using this amazing chocolate shower cream again. These are some of my favourite shower creams to use as they smell and even look like melted milk chocolate. Not only does it smell amazing but it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth all day long. I really recommend these shower creams in all of the scents!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Stranger Things.

As many people will know season 2 of Stranger Things came out under a week ago and everyone has gone crazy for it, including me and Dane! As soon as it went live on Netflix me and Dane started to watch it. We got the new season completed in just 2 days and it is AMAZING! I didn’t know what to expect from watching the trailers and I didn’t really think much about it. Only when we watched it was I trying to constantly guess what was going on. At one point towards the end of the season I was shouting at the character(s), you know, as you do. 😛 I just enjoyed it so much and I already can’t wait for season 3… Which sounds like it’s already been announced.

Favourite Film – The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda).

This was a film Dane had told me about and we watched it one of the days in October. I can safely said I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and would gladly watch again! It’s about a girl who loves to talk and talks loads, which ends up getting her into some “trouble”. She is cursed after this and whenever she talks after she feels like she needs to be sick. From there she becomes part of a school project which involves music, which also seems to help her find her voice and start to talk again. I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to give anything away! It’s an amazing anime film and one you should watch if you love films such as A Silent Voice or Your Name.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I actually don’t know why I have this option on here anymore as I don’t seem to read these days! I feel bad for not reading, but I feel like all I do lately is write my blog, watch random films and shows and play games. Reading hasn’t really factored into it lately. I really want to start reading manga again however! I have loads of K-ON! that I need to read! November will definitely be the month of starting to read again. 😛

Favourite Song/Album – Saliva – Back Into Your System

This is an album I actually listened to earlier on in the week when driving my car and I always forget how much I love it. It’s by far one of my favourite albums and whenever I listen to it it cheers me up so much. I’ve had a crappy couple of months recently so to listen to this album before and even after some good news it’s made me very happy. This is the song that introduced me to Saliva and due to that it’s my favourite of theirs, as well as from this album.

Favourite Game – South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

I can’t believe how long I had to wait for this game to come out, but it has definitely been worth it! I’m surprised I haven’t finished it yet to be honest but this is due to various reasons, Netflix being the main one. 😛 It’s nothing like the first game in my opinion and if anything it’s way better! There just feels like there’s more to do and it already feels like there’s more game play as well which is amazing. I just can’t wait to finish it! I intend to play loads Friday when I finish work as well as over the weekend.

So those were my favourites from October! I still can’t believe we’re into November now, the year is still going by way too quickly and it creeps me out.

Not only is Christmas and New Year next month, but my birthday will be the month after and I can’t believe I’ll be 28!

I’m excited for all those things to come however! So what were your favourites from October? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had an awesome Halloween.

April Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it’s May and we’re almost halfway through the year. This being said, I want September to hurry up and be here!

Either way, this month was a tough one to think of my favourites because honestly, I haven’t paid much attention. After much thought though, I realised that I had used certain products this month. So here they are!

  • The Body Shop Lip Butter in Coconut.

I received this lip balm for free after my holiday and I’ve owned it in the past. It’s been my bedside table essential and something I’ve been using around the house. The formula is very creamy and thick so a little bit goes a long way and it keeps my lips lovely and soft. I’ve used this on my knuckles a little too, as my eczema has been really bad lately. It’s helped a little bit. I’ve always loved the coconut range from The Body Shop.

  • Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDP.

This was originally my mom’s, but she recently gave me a couple of her perfumes as she wasn’t using them, and knew if I had them in my room she would be inclined to give them a spray… I therefore also discovered that my mom has been stealing sprays of my perfume. 😛 I don’t mind of course! Anyway! I’ve been lusting after this perfume for years, since it came out to be exact. I already own Bon Bon by them and I love it! You can never go wrong with Viktor & Rolf. They have unique scents and they’re strong too. They of course have an EDT version of this, as well as a stronger EDP intense version! So even if the EDP isn’t enough for you, you still have some sort of option.

  • Imperial Leather Shower Cream in Stimulating Spearmint.

These are new out and I tell you, they’re delicious! Imperial Leather have brought out some sweet shop inspired shower gels and alongside this one, I also picked up Comforting Marshmallow. I haven’t used this one yet however. I love minty shower gels. They wake me up in the mornings, smell gorgeous, and leave a little tingle on the skin after you’ve rinsed off. This one doesn’t tingle as much as some previous ones I’ve tried but it sure wakes me up early in the morning! I’ve been using this loads and it’s my current go to shower gel. It’s so creamy and good to use! I can’t wait to try the Marshmallow one soon. I recommend you give these a go, they come in various scents (Mouthwatering Fruit Salad, and Uplifting Sherbert) but my boyfriend and I found these two smelt the best. My skin has benefited too as it looks and feels really nice and soft after use.

  • Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender.

I’ve owned this since Christmas as it was a present my mom got for me and I really do like it! I’ve been using it more so during the warmer days as I find it works for longer than my MAC or Tarte face powders. I’ve hit pan on this now! I can see me getting another one when this runs out. It’s not something I find I need to top up either as it lasts ages as well. I loved this when I was on holiday too in the evenings and work beautifully. I can’t wait for summer and hotter days to come along so I can test this out more.

  • Cute Or What Body Butter.

This was bought for me nearly two years ago as part of a Christmas present and only recently have I started to use it. I use it to moisturise my hands as it’s a thick body butter and works well to keep them happy. As I mentioned above my eczema is pretty bad at the moment. This stuff doesn’t just work well though, it also smells gorgeous! It smells like pomegranate and mango which just reminds me of summer. I have used this on dry patches of my legs too which has helped them. I wish I could re-purchase this, but sadly it isn’t available to buy.

So that was my wish list! It wasn’t anything special, but I’ve been so busy this month that I haven’t really had time to use anything special.

What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments?

Until next time take care all and I hope May is a good month for everyone!

January Favourites 2015

2015 and we’re already into February! I wasn’t expecting my holiday in January to go by so quickly either.

The majority of my favourites in January were products I used frequently whilst on holiday, or discovered whilst I was there.

I’ve decided to do something a little different this year, instead of talking about ten favourites each month, I’ll be talking about five instead. I just feel like it means I REALLY liked the items I talked about and therefore would have needed to think about hem more carefully.

So, here are my favourites!

Image taken from thebodyshop.co.uk

  • Diesel Loverdose EDP.

I had run out of this years ago and was gutted as it’s by far one of my favourite perfumes to wear. It’s a strong scent that lasts ages, and has a unique smell. So when my Dad offered to buy it me whilst on holiday as one of my birthday presents. He got me a massive 75ml bottle, so that’ll last me way longer than my 30ml bottle did. I wore this most of my holiday because of what a lovely summer scent it has, I only wore it in the evenings though but it sure did smell good and last ages. I’m so pleased to have this back in time for spring and summer.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cream in Coconut.

I just want to mention how I cannot find my hand cream anywhere in the house and this is why I’ve had to insert a picture here. I LOVE The Body Shop’s hand creams and alongside the Hemp hand cream this is one of my favourites. It has a gel like texture and isn’t as heavy as the Hemp one. Whilst I was on holiday my hands were the best they’ve been in a long time. I was using this hand cream throughout the holiday and it felt lovely on my skin. It’s one you can use in the warmer weather due to it not being heavy. It also had the lovely coconut smell, which is such a typical holiday scent! I’ve also tried the Strawberry hand cream but I didn’t like it as much as I like this one! I’ll definitely be repurchasing in the future.

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Strawberry.

I used this throughout my holiday and it kept my lips lovely and soft, as well as protected due to it containing SPF 15! I’d never liked this lip balm all that much before, but I really did enjoy using it whilst I was away. The precision on this is great and meant it was easy and quick to apply when on the go. I used this underneath my lip products too and it did a mighty good job of creating a moisturisng layer. I used up nearly all of the tube as well, I was really surprised! I’ll definitely be trying the Cherry flavour next!

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in Coca-Cola Red.

As I mentioned in my Holiday Haul my Mom picked me up a set of the Coca-Cola OPI polishes, and inside of course there was the classic Cocoa-Cola Red. I wore this on my toes for the entire two weeks of my holiday and it lasted so well! I didn’t wear a base coat (naughty!) and I didn’t wear a top coat (double naughty!) and it still lasted the whole time. It’s said to be the exact same shade as the Coca-Cola cans, which I think is pretty cool! This is a cream finish is gorgeous! I don’t think I’ll ever wear this on my nails as I don’t suit red really, but on my toes it made me feel lovely.

  • Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Honey Douche

This was a balm stain I was given by my Mom as she didn’t like the shade that much and I didn’t think I would either, but it’s turned out that I love it! It’s a light pink shade and is a really nice nude shade at that. I’m not a fan of nude shades but this worked lovely as I built up my tan whilst I was on holiday and it also lasted ages on my lips. I never did try the Revlon lip crayons until I received this one, and it’s probably one of the best ones I’ve ever tried. I can see me picking up more in the future as they’re so great to quickly apply when on the move.

So those were my favourites for January! What did you use last month and enjoy? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you had a good weekend.

End of January 2015 Haul

So I was naughty yesterday and went shopping… I’m meant to be chilling out now and saving back the money I spent on my holiday, but alas I’ve come back to the UK and there are things I wanted to pick up.

I did get some bargains in the sales, and I also picked up some items that won’t be around long so in my mind it wasn’t SO bad… Yeah… It’s bad.

I just want to clarify that the quality of the images aren’t as good as they usually are as I took these on my iPhone 5, as opposed to my Nikon SLR. I’m at my boyfriends at the moment and I don’t always carry my SLR around with me… It is quite a hefty thing!

So enjoy my haul and how naughty I was yesterday! 😛

The first place I went to was The Body Shop as I had a couple of freebie codes I wanted to use. However this wasn’t as straight forward as I had hoped it would be, but I’ll go into that in a moment.

Another reason I popped into The Body Shop was because I still had my £5 birthday offer to use up so I decided to use it on this foot rescue regime. Before going on holiday I did my best to get my tootsies looking good, but it seemed like a waste of time as during my holiday my feet went into an awful condition. I was pretty sad about it and felt pretty self-conscious about them for the majority of the holiday. Now I’m back home my feet are still a little worse for wear, but I wanted something to perk them up with. I’d been eying this up before I went on holiday but thought it was a waste of money.

The set includes Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion, Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray, Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub and Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue.

The only two products from The Body Shop’s foot care range that you don’t get are the Peppermint Reviving Leg Gel and the Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak. Two products I would love to try in the future!

All of these are full size and the set is worth £30, although it is priced at £22 I only got it for £15.30! Bargain!

All the products smell pepperminty (I know this isn’t a word, but it’s still awesome) and delicious and I can’t wait to try them all out during February! I’m sure if I like them I’ll be sure to review things too.

Due to filling out a survey I was entitled to a free Coconut or Mango Lip Butter… However I almost didn’t get this. This is where I’m going to go into rant mode. First of all I want to say I KNOW the staff in the store I visited were just doing their job but it still pissed me off what happened.

So I received an email from The Body Shop telling me if I filled in a survey I would be sent a code to take into the shop so I could claim my free lip butter. So I did the survey and took it into store. As well as this I also saw something online how members of Love Your Body were able to claim a free body butter too. SO I took this to the store with me as well. The woman who served me instantly said that due to scammers that they wouldn’t accept my codes and I would need the email instead. I wasn’t sent ANY emails with new codes on and as I looked through my old emails I was beginning to get frustrated. So I thought, “sod it doesn’t matter anyway”, but when the woman was trying to sort it out and asking her manager about it at the till I ended up feeling flustered, snapping and said, “Look it doesn’t matter, I’m not that bothered!” to which they ended up giving me the lip butter anyway. Which was nice but personally I didn’t appreciate being made to look like I was trying to scam the company when I spend quite a lot of my money there monthly. Not only that but it made me feel like I was being a pain, which I was intending to do. My anxiety has been okay lately but this really did flare it a little bit, as the last thing I need is to feel like I’m being a pain in the arse when all I wanted was a free lip butter, which I had been told I was entitled to anyway. I know they don’t know how much money I spend there, but I’m also frustrated that I didn’t get any emails about this. Either way the woman who served me was lovely and I understand how in retail if you are told a rule you need to o bide by, you have to! I’m just more frustrated at The Body Shop as a company, not the staff. This being said, a note to The Body Shop, if you weren’t so busy sending out emails about your constant sales, then maybe I WOULD HAVE received my email about the scammers.

Rant over and onto the lip butter I got.

I’ve owned the Coconut Lip Butter in the past and I really do love it! It leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth, as well as smelling and tasting of coconut too, super yummy! I’ll probably keep this in my house to use throughout the day as I don’t like using pot lip balms whilst out and about due to germs and such. I wish I could have chosen something different as I wanted to try something new, but alas this is better than nothing as it was worth £4! If you want to claim your free lip balm then check your emails, fill in the survey and then check your emails again. Take that to store and claim your free lip balm! You only have until Wednesday 4th February so make sure to get yours as soon as possible!

The next store I went into was Two Seasons. Whenever I go shopping in Coventry this is always a store I pop into without hesitation! I love the clothing that Two Seasons sells and in the past I’ve picked up some real bargains. I bought two things in there from the sale, both of which are orange and by Element.

Another product I bought, another rant to get out-of-the-way first. Earlier on today I actually had to take this back into store because the person who served me didn’t take the security tag off! All day I had been setting off alarms whenever I entered and left shops and I just thought it was my student ID in my bag. Alas, it was this t-shirt. The guys in Two Seasons are really nice and dealt with the issue straightaway.

Either way this is a gorgeous t-shirt by Element in the colour (what Element themselves call it) ginger… That’s orange to you and me. I own a red one that is exactly the same and I wear that all the time, so I’m pretty sure this will with be the same. It was originally £20, down to £10, which I think is a bargain! I bought this in a large as I love the baggy look you get and feel with this t-shirt, as it leaves a nice relaxed look and really compliments my top half.

Another Element product! This one is a sweatshirt which is also shares the colour name of ginger. I looked at this when it was full price and tried it on when it was down a little in a sale before Christmas. I was so tempted to buy it but I left it, as the size I tried on didn’t suit me. However when I saw it again yesterday I knew that I wanted it and went and tried on the large, which I had tried on originally. It was still too big and still looked too frumpy on me. However there was a small and whilst I didn’t think I would fit the small size, I DID! It looked perfect, showed off all my good parts and made me feel a little bit more confident in my body (which isn’t what I’ve been feeling at all lately) so I bought it. This was originally £50, down in the sale for £20.

So overall if I’d have bought these new I would have forked out £70, all I had to pay was £30. If that isn’t a bargain, then I don’t know what is.

I love Two Seasons and when they have a sale, they really do have a sale! If you like skate, surf and snow fashion then definitely check them out.

I just HAD to pop into Lush! As not only is it next door to Two Seasons, but they have their Valentine’s Day range out at the moment and the two products I picked up I have been lusting after since I got home from my holiday. I can see me ordering some more online before Valentine’s Day is upon us to order some more, as I doubt I’ll get time to go in store between now and then.

This is the number one thing I went into Lush for, Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar. It looks beautiful and it sounded like it smells beautiful too, and it really does. It has a light lavender scent to it and whilst I like lavender, I only like it when it’s gentle. This being said I love Twilight Bath Bomb and this would work perfectly alongside this! I would have taken it out of the packet to show off but I want to keep it in here until I get home, so I can transport it into a sandwich bag to keep it fresher. I’ll probably use this Tuesday night after uni to chill out in the evening before I go to sleep. I want to write a review on this so I’ll be saving any talk about it until the time comes…

Another product I have been lusting over from the Valentine’s Day collection is the Prince Charming Shower Gel. I remember this coming out last year and sort of wanting it, but not seeing the hype in it. This year however I made sure to give it quite a few sniffs to see if I really liked the scent, and I did! I love Snow Fairy but sometimes I find the scent is a little overpowering, but this is a lot milder and something that will be nice to use before I go to uni, before nights out and over the weekends. The scent reminds me of something that Lush has in a bubble bar but I really can’t think what it is! You can for sure smell the pomegranate juice in this and the vanilla and it’ll make for a sweet and warming shower gel. I’m definitely going to order myself a large bottle of this to use over the summer. I wish I had bought a large bottle, but I can just order it online or pick it up next weekend.

The last place I popped into was a card shop in Coventry called I’m A Write Card, which sells Yankee Candle products! I’d never noticed it before and as soon as I spotted it from outside, I was already thinking about what they may have in stock. They had all the new scents for Spring, as well as the two new limited edition scents to. I picked up one of the new summer scents, Shea Butter which reminds me of cocoa butter, and I’m hoping will be a nice relaxing scent, if so I’ll probably pick a jar of it up in the future. As well as that I picked up Red Raspberry, which is one of the two limited edition scents. This is gorgeous and something I have been after since it came out! It’s a very sharp raspberry scent and I can’t wait to burn this tomorrow evening when I get home from uni! I can see me picking up a large jar of this as soon as I can!

So that was everything I picked up on my shopping trip. I’m rather pleased with what I got, but I must be good for the rest of the month now!

Have you been buying anything since pay-day? If so, what did you get? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re all having a good weekend.

September Empties

Excuse my language but holy shit I used up a lot of products in September! I don’t think I’ve ever had this many items in an empties post and it’s really surprised me.

I won’t lie, I am glad to be rid of a lot of the products I had as whilst most were good, it is good to have a clear out so that new things may be bought and wasted money on. 😛

I just want to get this out there now that when we enter into 2015, I’m not 100% sure if I will be writing up anymore empties posts as whilst I do enjoy doing them I do just think it’s a hassle to save up all the empty bottles in my bathroom. I am just putting this down to how much I saved up this month and I may change my mind, we shall see how the next three/four months go…

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Hello Kitty Liberty Body Wash.

I was given this body wash in a gift set from my sister-in-law and I really did love it! I saved it for quite a while until I decided to use it and within a few weeks it was gone and I have missed using it. It was softening on the skin, lathered beautifully and left my skin smelling gorgeous! It reminds me of the scent the old pink FCUK products that Boots sold at Christmas time in the early 00’s and it really did leave me with some childhood memories! If this is out again this year I’ll probably pick some up as I really enjoyed using this. I am really sad to see it finished.

  • Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo.

I’ve had this shampoo for ages so when it finally came to its end I was really shocked! It just didn’t seem like it was ever going to run out. I’ve since repurchased this in a 1 litre bottle as I really do love this shampoo! If you want to read more about this it featured on my 2013 Favourites, you can find that here.

  • Carex Strawberry Fun Shower & Bath.

I LOVED this shower and bath and when it ran out I was actually really sad, but at the same time I wasn’t as it only cost me a £1, YES A WHOLE POUND COIN! This really did smell like sweet strawberries and perfect for children or anyone who loves strawberries like myself. This really did remind me of The Body Shop’s strawberry shower gel and on a recently shopping trip I picked one up for my boyfriend, who loves it just as much as I do. This leaves your skin feeling great and smelling delicious and it was a treat to use in the bath alongside a fruity bath bomb. BUY IT if you want to try something good, you won’t regret it.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Hand Wash in Mango & Papaya.

Although this featured in my favourites last month (read here), I really couldn’t wait to see the back of this product throughout September. It wasn’t a bad product but I found that due to its bright orange colour if you dripped any on the side, it would stain and has stained. I won’t be picking up this scent again, but I will pick up one of the others, preferably the coconut scent! Otherwise this was great, it smelt delicious and left my hands feeling clean and moisturised.

  • Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub Of All Facial Exfoliator.

Another product I couldn’t wait to see in the bin! I used to love this scrub, it was my holy grail and when I suffered with some dry eczema style rash on my face years ago, this was the only thing that cleared it up! However over the years I have grown bored with this and now I can’t stand using it anymore. I didn’t even finish this product up, it just one day seemed to go gloopy and I ended up just throwing the rest of the product away. The things I don’t like about this scrub is how greasy it feels on the skin after use, it makes me cringe just the thought of it! I think it’s just to moisturise the skin but I just don’t like it. As well as that the scent is disgusting, I don’t get soap & Glory’s scents but apart from Sugar Crush they all make me feel sick. Shame that as the past year has gone by, I’ve grown to dislike most of Soap & Glory’s products. It does make me rather sad.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Gel Facial Wash.

I LOVE this face wash and as soon as I was running low I picked up a replacement. This costs less than £2 to buy and it really is worth the money. I don’t know if it’s due to what food I eat, me getting older or the face products I now use but I’ve noticed since using this wash that my skin has improved a hell of a lot! I recommend this to teenagers with troublesome skin so SO much as this is what I used to use when I was a teenager and it really did help my oily skin. You can pick T-Zone up at great prices in Home Bargains and Body Care, so keep your eyes peeled.

  • Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Sensitive.

I get through one of these every month and since May I haven’t mentioned one… I think because of the fact I always mention one and I always mention the same thing… Go and read about it here! 😛

  • The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cleanse Gel.

I love my hand sanitizers and I REALLY loved this one! I bought it when I went to Bristol in June and since then it has been so lovely to use, having a sniff of the empty bottle now reminds me of summer and Bristol. Soon as I can I will be picking up another bottle. I recommend The Body Shop cleanse gels so much as not only do they keep your hands germ free, but they leave your hands smelling lovely too. Go and check them out!

  • Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Gel.

Whilst The Body Shop cleanse gel was great, this was a let down and I couldn’t wait to finish the bottle! When you smell the bottle it has a light scent of strawberries, which is pleasant but when you use this on your hands it just stinks of alcohol and I hated it because of that. It wasn’t worth the money I paid (I paid £2 for 2) and I regretted buying it as soon as I started to use it. I don’t recommend, head to The Body Shop and pick up their strawberry cleanse gel, it’ll be worth the extra money and last longer! The cap on this was also rubbish and it opened inside my work apron and leaked everywhere, was really annoying. Don’t waste your money!

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Bomb in Strawberry & Pomegranate.

The first thing I want to say about this bath bomb is how awful it is. My Mom bought me 3 bath bombs for £3, as she knows how much I love my bath bombs! As soon as she brought them home I knew I wanted to try one out, so I popped the whole bomb into the bath and had a good, long soak! I just want to apologise if I go into TMI here but I just want to get out there how this product made me poorly. Before using this in the bath, I was fine but the day after I didn’t feel myself, but the day after that I was rather poorly… And it turned out I had thrush. I suffered from it for a week and it was painful and uncomfortable and I KNOW for a fact it was due to this bath bomb. If you have sensitive skin (or sensitive bits like I clearly do!) then steer clear of this product as whilst it felt moisturising on my skin it really did leave me feeling poorly and run down. I haven’t used the other 2 bath bombs and I have contemplated taking them back to get my money back. I’m not going to bother wasting mine or anyone else’s money on the Fruits collection anymore. I am really disappointed as the collection has had a lot of positive comments. For a little money I would just prefer to splash out on Lush.

So those were my empties of September, I still can’t believe how many products I finished! I doubt it’ll be the same in October, but who knows!

I hope everyone had a great September and I shall see you next month.

Until next time, take care all.

August Favourites 2014

DSC_0002

It’s September… Really 2014, really? I know I say this every month and I think I always will but bloody hell is this year going quick! They say times goes fast when you’re having fun, but I wouldn’t say this year has been 100% fun… I’m going off subject now!

It was actually really hard to pick my favourites this month, I don’t know why!

DSC_0003

  • I Love… Cosmetics Hand Wash in Mango & Papaya.

I bought this on a whim as it was only a £1, I needed hand wash, and I rather like I Love… Cosmetics products. I’ve been using this for the past couple of weeks now and it’s a really lovely hand wash to use. It leaves your hands feeling lovely and soft, as well as smelling fresh and beautiful! I would definitely try their other hand washes and I’m sure I will be as soon as this one finishes. A little bit of this hand wash goes a long way, which is great! Try it whilst it’s on offer for a £1 in Boots!

  • Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EDP.

I’ve mentioned this perfume before in a previous favourites post and I still love it! During the cold and rainy weather this has been the scent that has really picked me up when I’ve been feeling a bit sluggish and bleh. I think this will definitely be my scent for autumn and winter this year, as it’s such a lovely warming scent and you can’t go wrong with that, eh? If you want to read more about it, check out this post.

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Shower Gel.

I LOVE this shower gel so as soon as some of my shower gels were finished up and thrown away, I was able to pull this out of my toiletries cupboard and pop it on the side of my shower/bath. This smells like key lime pie and due to the citrus scent of it, it really does wake you up when you use it, making it perfect for mornings when I feel really sluggish! I’ve worked a lot of early shifts at work throughout August so this really did help wake me up! I’ve already used quite a lot of this shower gel, which  is hardly surprising and as soon as it runs out, I’m sure I’ll pick up another bottle. You can read more about this here.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cream in Coconut.

These are some of The Body Shop’s newest products and I was counting down the days until they came out in store to buy! I randomly popped into one of The Body Shop stores for a look and they had all the samples for their new hand creams out for people to look at and try, but they weren’t for sale. I asked when they would be out, as I was sure I read on a blog that they would be out in August, however I was told by the cashier that they wouldn’t be out until late September. So I let out a disappointed sigh and forgot about it. I randomly popped in for a look and they had them for sale, IN AUGUST! So I picked up Coconut and Strawberry and all I have been using when at home is the Coconut scent. It smells so beautiful and is really relaxing to sniff whilst snuggled up in bed. It leaves my hands gorgeous and soft and even my boyfriend has noticed how it has made my hands feel lovely! This and the Strawberry scent will be reviewed very VERY soon so keep your eyes peeled for it!

  • Etude House Peel Off Base Coat.

Peel off base coats are now becoming something new that all nail polish wearers need, especially if you love wearing glitter nail polish! OPI have brought one out but at a high price, and one I don’t wish to pay for myself. SO to eBay I went (as I always do) and discovered that Etude House have a peel off base coat! So for £3.70 (including P&P) I bought this and it arrived pretty quickly too, as I ordered it from Korea. Since then this has been a staple of mine whenever I use glitter nail polish. I’ll be reviewing this in September as it just NEEDS to be spoken about in further detail.

  • Bath & Body Works PocketBac in Crisp Morning Air.

This is one of the most beautiful PocketBac’s I have come to own and it’s all thanks to Hollie over at Eating Lipstick, who has recently posted quite a few Bath & Body Works haul videos over on her YouTube channel. She mentioned how beautiful Crisp Morning Air smelt and I knew I had to have it. SO I once again ventured over to eBay and found someone selling it for a good price, so I ordered it straight away and I couldn’t wait for it to arrive! When it finally did I was pleasantly surprised that I hadn’t ordered something that I may not like and it really does remind me of autumn. It has a lovely crisp warming scent to it, apples, cinnamon and just yummy goodness but not like a cake smell. It’s hard to describe but I recommend ordering it, or smelling it if you’re over the pond at the moment or soon. I wrote a post about hand sanitizers recently and this one was mentioned in that post, you can check that out here.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Berry Bomb.

Another month, another Baby Lips lip balm! This is by far my favourite out of the four I’ve tried! I had seen swatches of this online from bloggers from over the pond so when I heard that it was going to come out in the UK I was super excited! This is a gorgeous purple shade and smells delicious, like dark berries. The only flaw with this is that I’ve bought a shoddy lip balm as this rubs up the side of the tube and before I know it this will break soon, I’ll probably need to buy another one soon. ANYHOO! I love to use this over my purple lip products whilst at work and on the go. Even on its own this shows up really lovely and I really like it. I can see this being a staple, I keep it in my handbag all the time.

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Strawberry (review here).

I’ve been using this a lot lately at home, due to the weather being on and off hot and then cold my lips have taken a turn for the worst and got really dry and sore and to be honest I think Carmex is what has helped them go back to being lovely and soft. This tastes vile mind, I won’t lie nothing like strawberry if you ask me and I much prefer the original due to that, however my original is now close to running out and I need to use this lip balm up anyway! This is alright to use underneath some lip products too, especially stains and lip crayons. I can’t wait to finish this mind so that I can try one of the other Carmex flavours, which include Cherry and Mint.

  • elf Cosmetics Lip Exfoliator.

I read a review for this lip exfoliator a while ago and thought it sounded ideal! I ended up purchasing it as a treat and I’ve ended up being unsure of how I feel about it. It DOES work and leaves my lips feeling lovely and smooth, but at the same time the stick has actually gone a bit deformed in the tube, making it a little awkward to use. This isn’t a major issue mind! As I mentioned above my lips have been horribly dry during August so this and Carmex have both been lifesavers! If you’ve tried Lush’s lip scrub and found it was too fiddly to use then I recommend this for sure! I find the Lush lip scrubs are rubbish and too awkward to use, so this is much easier and tidier too.

  • Collection Lip Butter in Perfect Plum.

I LOVE this lip crayon! I don’t think I’ve ever liked one as much as I do this one. My best friend and I whilst looking around the shops stumbled across these in Boots and we both decided to take up their 2 for £5 offer. I bought Perfect Plum, a near dupe of MAC Rebel and she picked up Vintage Rose. This is so creamy and smooth to apply to the lips and lasts ages too! It’s easy to apply too and doesn’t need sharpening, which makes it great to use on the go or at work. I recommend these to everyone and soon I’ll be writing a review for this as it’s too good not to share and talk about.

Wow I can’t believe it’s September! I’m actually really excited as August was a pretty crap month for me and this month I aim to sort my life out… Well try to anyway, and that’s all you can do!

What were your favourite products for August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and happy September.
