November Favourites ’19

Guys, it is officially December and you know what that means? CHRISTMAS IS LOOMING! 😛 This year has flew to be honest, especially the past 8 months since I started my new job. 2019 has been good and I’m feeling pretty confident that 2019 is going to finish with a bang! 😀

This is the last “official” monthly favourites of 2019 and I’m feeling a tad bit sad… Until the end of December when I do my 2019 favourites post… 😛

Anyhoo, I’m not going to dwindle too much with talking about the end of 2019… I haven’t even cracked open the first door of my advent calendar yet! 😛

  • Colgate Plax Gentle Care Extra Mild Mouthwash.

I’ve finally found a mouthwash I’m really enjoying using and if anything it feels like a treasure to use now instead of a chore. It’s not strong at all (hence it being called extra mild) which is really nice and it still leaves a lovely fresh feeling and scent behind. It’s not expensive either at less than £2 a bottle! I use this twice a day, after lunch and dinner. I wish they sold this in smaller bottles, just so I can keep a bottle in my bag, as well as at work. I do however, have a little mini travel Listerine bottle that I use instead, which is handy.

  • Gucci Envy Me EDT.

I forgot just got much I LOVE this perfume and it’s only from using it quite a bit throughout November that I rekindled my love for it. It’s a massive bottle so it’s handy just for taking in my backpack during the week when I’m going back and forth from work. It’s a light EDT which is handy if I don’t want anything heavy on. I have fond memories from my teenage years of this perfume, so it’s always nostalgic to wear. 🙂

  • Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

Since I started to get my nails painted with gel by my nail technician I’ve been using my cuticle cream/oil religiously! I use my handy cuticle oil before I go out in the morning for work and before I go to bed. I keep my cuticle cream on me to use when I’m out and about as well as at work. I really love this cuticle cream as it’s thick, a little goes a long way and I really do feel like it’s working when I use it. It also has a gorgeous lemon scent to it!

  • Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Collection.

I recently decided to treat myself to something from Boots using my Advantage Card points and opted for something beauty related… Fenty to be exact! I’ve never given Fenty a go and I’ve always heard nothing but good, so I was really excited to give these lip glosses a go! So far I LOVE them and have really enjoyed wearing the different shades throughout the week at work. I especially love the pink shade Pretty Please and the clear holo shade Confetti. These will be perfect to wear during Christmas parties too, as well as Christmas and New Year… Not to mention during my trip in Japan! I might write a review on these soon, but PLEASE let me know in the comments if you would like to see this. 🙂

  • Beauticology Pink Lemonade Shower Crème.

I picked up this shower cream quite a while ago now but I’ve only just got the chance to use it. Beauticology is a really good brand and one I have bought on and off in the past. I’ve never tried their shower creams before so was excited to give this one a go! It’s very fresh scented and really does perk me up in the mornings when I use it. The scent isn’t sickly sweet and is really subtle, which I enjoy. This also foams up lovely and a little goes a long way! I’d definitely like to give the other fragrances a try/

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – His Dark Materials.

I’ve really enjoyed watching this show with Dane on a Sunday evening. We go upstairs about 7.45pm and get ready and into bed ready for 8pm when this starts! It’s not something we do every Sunday night, but it’s definitely something I look forward to over the weekend! I’ve not read the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman but Dane has, so he was really excited for this show to start on BBC One. I started to watch it with him and really have become engrossed in it! It’s got a massive all star cast in there too, which is fab! My favourite character by far is Pan. 😀

Favourite Movie – The Irishman.

I know this only came out on Netflix towards the end of November, but it’s probably the only film I watched in November… It was definitely worth watching too! It’s over 3 hours long for fuck sake! If you love Goodfellas, then you will love this film. It’s by the same director (Martin Scorsese) and is based on a true story about a man who was an alleged hitman. Yes, it’s a long film but it is so well done that it’s definitely worth watching, whether it be on your own or with a couple of friends/family members. It’s very detailed so be prepared for that. If you take your eyes away for a moment, you may miss something important.

Favourite Book… Podcast – My Dad Wrote A Porno.

This is a podcast I have fast found myself listening to again and this time, I don’t regret it… I got really bored of it in season 3 the first time I started listening to it earlier this year and to be honest I was pretty sad I jacked it in and stopped listening. I use Spotify to listen to music whilst I’m at work and discovered that podcasts is a thing you can listen to on there. SO when I found out My Dad Wrote A Porno was on there, I decided to start from the beginning and give it a listen! I’m not at the start of season 4 and I am loving it! The only problem is that I find myself chuckling away quietly at my desk… Oops! 😛 I definitely recommend giving this a listen if you have a filthy sense of humour like I do and don’t get embarrassed easily.

Favourite Music – Persona 5 Remastered – Collosia.

As many readers (if not all!) of my blog will know, I LOVE Persona 5 and have done since 2017 when it came out in the UK. Since then I have met friends due to that mutual love and discovered a game series that I love just as much as Pokemon. Recently my friend Amy (Writing into the Ether) has started playing Persona 5 and that makes me so damn happy! When I got home after meeting up with her I found the artist Collosia over on Spotify and since then I’ve been listening to their remastered versions of the soundtrack, which are just so damn good! I can’t wait to listen to them when driving to and from work, as well as when I’m travelling to and from Japan! 😀 My favourite track from the original soundtrack/the game is “Beneath the Mask”, so I just had to share this one with you all above.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Shield.

Of course I had to mention Pokemon on my favourites this month! I haven’t finished the game yet but I’ve played most of it and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I decided to opt for Pokemon Shield, whilst Dane went for Pokemon Sword. The game is so much fun to play and it’s great the way you can catch Pokemon out in the wild, however there isn’t all that much in terms of story, which is the biggest let down of them all. It just feels like you get a tiny bit of story about your rivals, the story behind the two legendary Pokemon and that’s it… Bit shit really when you look back at stuff like Team Rocket… As much as I love the game, I just want the old school games back like gen 1 and 2. 😦

So yes those are my favourites from November! They’re going up really late tonight due to just how busy I was this weekend. I was busy seeing and hanging out with friends, with some Christmas shopping in between too. I’ve also put up my Christmas tree at home and watched the odd Christmas film.

What were you guys loving throughout November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below as well as what you’re excited for throughout this month! It doesn’t need to be Christmas related either. 🙂

Until next time all, take care and I hope your day has been Christmassy already!

May Favourites ’19

I cannot believe we are officially over halfway through 2019! The year is flying by, but I feel the past two months really have flown since I’ve been at my new job. It’s been amazing so far and to be honest with you the end of May and start of June have been amazing for so many reasons!

After years of wishing to go, on Wednesday me and Dane FINALLY booked our trip to Japan! I still cannot believe it’s happening and the sooner it sinks in, the better. I’ll be writing all about this in June at some point. 🙂

I’m off work next week which I’m really excited for as I haven’t actually had any holiday since my birthday in January. Me and Dane have loads planned, including going to Manchester for a few days and even going to see The Book of Mormon there! 😀

Anyhoo, I’ll try and give a massive life update post soon on my blog instead of using my monthly post to give you guys TOOOO many updates.

On with the monthly favourites! 😀

  • Colgate Naturals Charcoal Toothpaste.

If there’s something I love, it’s a toothpaste that tastes sweet, foams loads and leaves my teeth and mouth lovely and clean. This is a new charcoal toothpaste by Colgate so on a food shop at the start of May I saw it was on offer so decided to pick it up. Well, I picked a couple of these because I do love a charcoal toothpaste. Since buying it I really do love using it morning and evening. If anything, it’s a pleasure to use. It doesn’t go black when brushing with it, which is fab! I know some people don’t like that when it comes down to charcoal toothpaste – this is nothing like that!

  • Lime Crime Wet Cherry Gloss in Cherry Bomb.

In the Easter sales I ended up grabbing some bargains, including the Lime Crime best of red lips and this was one of the four products inside of the set. Out of the four this is definitely my favourite to be honest, which took me by surprise! I’m not going to lie – whilst I thought the wet cherry glosses looked amazing, for £16.00 I thought they were a rip off for something you could pick up on the high street for half of the price and less! I’ll admit it. I’ve now eaten my own words, these lip glosses are definitely a game changer. They’re so light, not sticky and so much more pigmented than I thought they were going to be. If I fancy a bit of colour, but don’t wish to wear anything heavy I’ve been reaching for this. The wet cherry glosses also smell AMAZING! They remind me of the Yankee Candle Cherries On Snow and I can only image this is what an American cherry pie must smell like.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Everfresh Hydrating Wide-Open Eye Gel.

Since I started my new job, I’ve been seeing my mom more – which is so lovely. We tend to pop to the shops together after I finish work or relax. On one of our shopping trips I picked up a new eye gel for myself, that isn’t this one however. The one I bought was anti-aging and BURNT MY SKIN! It was horrible and I was beyond gutted in so many ways. My mom gave me this eye gel as she knew how I was after a new one. So far this one has been amazing and I haven’t had any issues. It’s a lovely cooling gel and even though I’m sure it isn’t anti-aging but I feel like it does help with brightening my eyes a tad.

  • Optex Intensive Eye Drops For Dry Eyes.

I really do love using eye drops, especially during he cold and hot months especially. Depending on the type of eye drops I buy, depends whether I repurchase them again or not. I don’t feel like I’ve ever really enjoyed eye drops as much as I have with the Optex ones. I find these work really well for me, especially as the hayfever season has officially started. These really help my eyes first thing in the morning to wake me up, as well as refreshing my eyes. I make sure to use these daily to keep my eyes from drying up whilst the weather is on and off of what it wants to be! 😛

  • L’Oreal Men Expert Pure Power Black Charcoal Face Wash.

IDGAF is this is a product for men, I’m still fucking using it! 😛 It it works for blokes, it’ll definitely work for me. 😉 If you know what I mean! This is actually Dane’s face wash, which he loves to bits! He’s had this since about March/April now and around the time he first got it he recommended I give it a go to see what I thought of it. I LOVE it! A little bit of it goes a long way and it goes REALLY creamy and with loads of lather. It gives a lovely cooling feeling on the face, which is great when the weather is really warm. I give this a go once a week to once a fortnight and it really does give my skin a bit of a boost.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

attack on titan titans GIF

Image taken from GIPHYGIPHY

Favourite TV Show – Attack on Titan Season 3.

I was so happy for Attack on Titan to be back for the rest of season 3 at the end of April and weekly me and Dane have tuned into Crunchyroll or Funimation to make sure to watch the latest episode. We’re caught up so far at the moment and each episode has me on the edge of my seat and by the “to be continued” at the end of the episode, I am already craving more! Dane knows what’s happening throughout the series at the moment as he’s all caught up on the manga – so he’s always one step ahead of me in regards to what’s going to happen… Which sucks. 😛 One of the episodes recently was really emotional for me and I really need this weeks episode soon!

detective pikachu pokemon GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Movie – Detective Pikachu.

I have been so excited for Detective Pikachu since it was announced months ago so as soon as tickets were released for this film at my local cinema I made sure to get our seats booked! It was an awesome date night out to be honest with you and I couldn’t have been any happier as I left the cinema after watching this. It was everything I wanted and more and I would love to go and spontaneously go and watch it again. I played the 3DS game of this and it was completely different with the story line in various ways. I honestly enjoyed the film more, because whilst the game had more information about Tim’s father and clue searching the film had more about what happened to Tim’s father. Recently Nintendo announced that there is going to be a sequel to Detective Pikachu on the Switch, which I am SO EXCITED FOR! 😀 Honestly if you haven’t been to watch this film yet, go and see it before it’s gone from cinemas.

polar bear love GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Book – A Polar Bear In Love Vol. 4.

I love this manga series so much and I was so scared that volume 4 was actually the last volume in the series! Thankfully this isn’t the case, but this volume was really emotional and it really tugged on my heart strings. I’ve mentioned this manga series on and off in the past on my blogs monthly favourites, but it’s about a polar bear who falls in love with a seal pup. Of course polar bears eat seals so the love is seen as strange, especially by the seal who at first is constantly scared that the polar bear is going to eat him. Along the way they start to travel together and even make some friends along the way. This manga has been turned into a mini series, which I really need to watch more of! 😛

Favourite Music – I Prevail – “Bow Down”, PVRIS – “Fire” and Grimes – “We Appreciate Power”.

If there are three songs I couldn’t stop listening to this past month, it was definitely the three shown above. I discovered all these thanks to listening to KERRANG! Radio during the week at work and I’ve fallen in love with them all! “Bow Down” has some screaming singing in there, as well as some normal singing. I love the combination between the two singers and it works really well! I love singing along to it on my way home from work, as well as in the evenings when I’m chilling out. PVRIS are a band that I feel I’ve discovered too late! I now really want to get their albums to listen to, as I really love their songs, especially this one. It’s so damn catchy and I always find myself singing along to it, especially if it comes on when driving. Finally we have Grimes “We Appreciate Power”. I’ve always listened to Grimes on and off over the past 7 years and I do rather like her music. Another artist whose music I need to download and listen to more!

Image taken from Tumblr

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

This is a game I have not been able to stop playing whenever I have a moment to pick up my phone to play it. I play it in the morning when I wake up, if I have a spare 10/15 minutes before work, during my work break and then in the evening on and off after work. I don’t know how I have suddenly grown so addicted to it, but I have and I’m loving it! 😛 Even talking about it now, I’m going onto the app to see if there is anything I need to do! I am so excited for Animal Crossing to come out on the Switch and I’m keeping fingers crossed that Nintendo will announce information at E3.

So those are all my favourites from May! Again, I cannot believe it’s June already. The start of June is always a busy month for me and Dane, including celebrating when we bought our house as well as our anniversary. We’ll be 6 years together this time next week and it’s crazy how time flies when you’re having fun. 🙂

I’d love to hear what your favourites were from May! Make sure to let me know in the comments down below. Do you have a busy month ahead of you? If so, let me know about that in the comments too.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have an amazing weekend. 😀

August Empties

DSC_0010

Alright so I know I didn’t do an empties post for July, but that’s because I only had one thing I would have been able to talk about, so it would have been pretty pointless. However throughout August I have been flooded with empty products, so much so that my purple Liberty bag is overflowing with empty products! So finally I bring to you an empties post, I hope it was worth the wait! :’)

DSC_0012

  • Dettol Camomile Comforting Hand Wash with E45.

Like all the other Dettol hand washes I have mentioned before on my blog, I really did enjoy this one. This was a bargain at a £1 and I thought I’d give it a go, as it sounded just as good as the honey one that I use so much. It was lovely to use and I was sad when it came to the end of the bottle. It reminded me of Johnson’s bedtime baby bath with the camomile scent, which lasted ages on my hands. I’d buy this again for sure!

  • Carex Complete Bubble Gum Hand Wash.

This was really fun to use and was an awesome bright blue colour, just like bubblegum! Although this did smell amazing the smell did get a little boring and tacky smelling after a few weeks and I actually couldn’t wait to finish it after a while. I’m unsure if it was this or something else but after a few weeks of use my hands started to be terribly dry, and since this coming to its last use a week ago my hands now aren’t as dry. I would pick this up again, don’t get me wrong but maybe as a treat as whilst it was only a £1, it was a bit too artificial smelling for my liking. I recommend people to try this who have children mind, as it was lovely nonetheless.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gel in Strawberry (mentioned here and here).

This is a lovely hand sanitizer and providing if I’m on a budget or not is by far one of my favourites! At work, at home and amongst friends and family I get nothing but compliments on this, how gorgeous it smells, and even people asking if they can nab a blob off me. These don’t break the bank to buy and last ages in my opinion! I like to keep them in my handbag for at work and on the go, as you never know when you may need some.

  • The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel (mentioned here).

I was extremely sad to see the end of this (especially considering that I’m saving money and can’t buy anymore yet) because of the fact that it just smells amazing, plus I think it’s limited edition (I hope not!). I bought this for mine and my boyfriends long weekend in Bristol and it really does remind me of there whenever I smell it. This smells of delicious, ripe raspberries, perfect for summer! This foamed up lovely, left my skin feeling soft and gorgeous as well as smelling amazing too! I will buy this again in the future, as well as for my boyfriend who probably loved it more than I did!

DSC_0014

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Colgate Plax Mouthwash in Soft Mint.

Like all mouthwashes, this did a good job and one I expected it to. Since this has run out I haven’t re-purchased this one, nor have I purchased any in particular. This was nice to use and made my mouth feel nice and fresh whenever I used it.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser.

I love this cleanser so much that I re-purchased it well before it ran out and that is what I am currently using. This cleanser doesn’t cost much, less than £2.00 infact and is available from both Home Bargains and Body Care if you would like to pick it up. This smells gorgeous, just like tea tree and really does feel like it works when applied to the skin. I use this everyday and I can safely say that I have fallen in love with it. I used to use the T-Zone range as a teenager and I can say that it still works the same now as it used to back in the day! Try out their products if you fancy trying something new and affordable.

  • Hidden Passion EDP.

This was a find in a pound shop, for obviously a £1. I bought it after one of my closest friends picked it up too as it reminded me of one of my more expensive perfumes. I ended up using this for work and I couldn’t wait to see the back of it! Yes it’s cheap and cheerful but also really crap! I don’t recommend this unless you want something to spritz after the gym, work, for your car, etc.

  • Oral-B 3D White in Brilliance.

I LOVE this toothpaste and I can’t believe this is the first time that I’m mentioning this product on my blog! Since this came out it’s all I use and I think this toothpaste has been out for 2-3 years now, which is a very long time! This toothpaste isn’t cheap but I recently discovered that you can pick this up really cheap in Home Bargains, which I’m really pleased about. I recommend this toothpaste if you want to have clean and pearly white teeth!

So those were my empties for August! Whether or not I have any products to talk about this time next month or not, I’m unsure, we shall wait and see!

What products did you use up throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope September is going well for you all so far.

September Empties

DSC_0007Another month that has passed us by means another empties post is written up and published on my blog.

I didn’t use up a great deal in September, although it feels like I used a lot more… Odd…

On with the empties post!

DSC_0008

  • Sanex Sensitive Skin Shower Cream.

This was bought for me by my Mom when she noticed the skin on the tops of my arms was looking a little dry and unloved. I wouldn’t say this shower cream was the most amazing I’ve tried but it’s really nice to use on the skin when you want to get your skin back to how it should be naturally. It contains “dermo active 3” which adds protection, moisturisation and rebalance. This did leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but was only something I used if I was quickly going to work, as this  has no scent to it, and I like getting out of my shower with a slight smell in the air, if you know what I mean? This foams up REALLY well though and it feels lovely due to it, but eventually I used this up in my bath and even though it was meant to be a cream for the shower, it worked lovely as a bath cream too.

  • Colgate Plax Complete Care Sensitive Mouthwash.

This mouthwash has been mentioned in two separate empties posts (here and here) as well as in a favourites post. I really like using this mouthwash as it does the job, helps out my sensitive teeth and doesn’t break the bank either! I always buy this, only not buying it if I’m in the need for mouthwash and can’t find this one, or if I’m not able to afford it, which has been the case at the moment as I am very poor. If you wish to know more about this mouthwash go and check out my previous posts linked above, as everything you will need to know about it, is there.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner For Fine Or Oily Hair.

My Mom bought me this a while ago to try and encourage me to condition my hair, as since I was a teenager all conditioning my hair has done is make it greasy and limp, however this isn’t the case with this conditioner. I don’t apply this to the top of my head, just the ends and above, the top of my head doesn’t need conditioning to be perfectly honest. This conditioner is light weight, smells of oranges and lemons and rinses off easily by just keeping my head under the shower for a maximum of 5 or so minutes. I really like this conditioner and whilst is isn’t the cheapest it lasts ages and does a better job than anything Boots could sell you. I’ve already started to use my second tube of this and I’m getting ready to buy myself some more, just so I’m ready when I run out on this tube.

DSC_0009

  • Garnier Moisture Match Revitalising Moisturising Gel in Wake me Up.

This was mentioned back in my June Favourites, which is when I first bought this moisturiser. I really liked using this and I’m sad it’s all gone now. I bought this to try after my Clinique Moisturising Gel ran out and I have to say, it was a nice little replacement for the meantime. I would re purchase this but I do really want to get back into using my Clinique 3 Step, so my Moisturising Gel will be my next purchase me thinks. This gel was lovely and light on the skin and did indeed make my skin look and appear brighter, which I really liked. This is something that would be ideal for the cold autumn and winter months when you skin looks a little dry and dull, but that being said this is also great for the hot spring and summer months as this being a gel really does cool your skin down. It smells really nice too. I probably will re purchase this actually, but only to use when I go traveling as whilst the tube is small, it clearly lasts ages, or in my case nearly 4 months.

  • Bath & Body Works Pocketbac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Fresh Picked Strawberries.

I’m sad to see this all used up, but at the same time I’m rather glad. At first I didn’t get on with the smell of this at all as it was really strong and often gave me headaches. I used to use it in my old job in the mornings and I got a mixture of complaints from staff of how strong it was ad compliments from customers how lovely it smelt, some even asking where I bought it from. In the end I kept this next to my bed to pop on before I went to sleep and the strawberry scent was somewhat relaxing after a while. I’m going to keep the little bottle to put normal hand sanitizer in so I can pop this in my apron pocket at work. I wrote a review for this back in April which you check out here. 🙂

  • Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Face Spa Face Mask.

I love Montagne Jeunesse’s face masks and as I’ve recently discovered the sheet masks, I’ve been using them quite a bit lately. The Tea Tree one is amazing and left my skin lovely and soft, as well as blemish free for a couple of days after use. When I opened the packet I was expecting a really strong tea tree smell but I was greeted with a pleasant light scent of tea tree, which I really liked. I popped the mask on, left it for 15 minutes (even though the packet says 5-10 minutes) and when I took it off my skin looked fresh and felt tingly and clean. It also felt cooling, which I thought was odd but all the same a very nice feeling. I’m going to be stocking up on these face masks and I hope to find more versions of them too, as two isn’t enough for my liking. I’ll be writing up reviews for these in the very near future!

So those were my empties from September, it wasn’t a whole lot but never mind!

What did you use up during September? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your October if going off to a good start already.
