August Favourites ’21

I cannot believe it’s September now, my favourite month of the year. September is a month I’m really excited for, but also very anxious and a little sad about too.

August is a month I couldn’t wait to see the back of as it wasn’t exactly great, especially for my mental health, but at the same time I had a really lovey time running up to the end of it. Me and my best friend went out for one of the days over bank holiday and it was so lovely. I’ll be talking about it more later on in the favourites.

September though… It’s always been my favourite month of the year due to feeling of a fresh start (due to education), as well as my favourite season of autumn starting. However, since last year September also carries some sadness I don’t want to discuss on my blog, as well as some big anxieties in the weeks leading up.

This all being said, me and Dane will be off holiday from work together and we’re planning to just chill out together and have lots of cuddles and chilled days. I honestly cannot wait for some time off of work to just do nothing and relax.

I’m sorry to start off this months favourites with a bit of a miserable topic, but I just wanted to be honest here. I’m incredibly worn out, even after bank holiday. xD

Favourite Beauty Product  – Boots Extracts Marshmallow & Peppermint Body Butter.

Not going to lie, this is actually an old product from many years ago that I only recently opened. I’d bought it as part of a gift set I bought back in 2016 and decided to finally crack open the body butter to use as a hand and foot butter. On my hands this just did not agree with my dermatitis due to the scent and ingredients, however, used as a foot butter it’s been a dream to use. I put a very generous amount on before socks in the morning which results in my feet looking and feeling lovely and smooth by the end of the day. It also has a gorgeous creamy peppermint scent too, which I adore. I’ll be honest, I don’t know if you’re supposed to use products past their sell by date… I think with beauty products it’s from when they’re opened you have the use by date. Of course, if you aren’t sure it might always be best to throw the product away.

Favourite Film – Us.

This is a film I’ve been wanting to watch since it came out in 2019, but we just never managed to. We planned to go to the cinema to watch it but never did and I’m really glad we didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the film but without saying too much, I guessed the twist of the film around thirty minutes in, which was a little disappointing. That being said, the overall plot of the film is really good and you’re definitely on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next.

Favourite TV Show – Centaurworld.

This is a new Netflix series that came out to the UK at the end of July. Dane thought it looked batshit crazy so he decided to pop it on for us to watch. We LOVED it and binge watched it in a few days. We follow Horse as she finds herself transported to Centaurworld during a battle with her owner. Horse discovers a group of centaur friends, who soon help Horse to try and find her way home. There’s singing involved too, as this is a musical show. It reminds me of Adventure Time crossed with Disney films. Give it a watch if you haven’t done so already!

Favourite Music – Unprocessed – “Candyland”

Unprocessed are a progressive metal band that Dane introduced me to recently with “Deadrose”. As I really love this song, Dane played me one of their newer songs to see what I thought of it. “Candyland” has fast turned into one of my favourite songs to listen to lately. Their music style seems to have changed a little when you hear “Deadrose” before or after “Candyland”. I really love them and I’m going to be checking out more of their stuff in September!

The Sad Ghost Club: Volume 1 - The Sad Ghost Club (Paperback)

Favourite Book – The Sad Ghost Club.

Yes guys, I read a book this month! Don’t act too shocked, please. 😛 I bought The Sad Ghost Club back in January this year and I thought I’d read it, instead I placed it in our office and… Never touched it. As I found out a second book is due to come out in January 2022 (I’ve already pre ordered it too…) I decided it was time to finally dig the book out and give it a read! It’s actually a comic more so than a book, where we follow Sad Ghost and their struggles with their mental health, including social anxiety, worries about education and even going to a party. The comic itself is really sad at times, but at the same time makes you feel less alone. My mental health hasn’t been very good the past couple of months and reading The Sad Ghost Club really did help me feel less lonely.

Favourite Game – State of Decay 2.

Recently Dane has really gotten back into State of Decay 2 again and as some of friends have also wanted to play it, I thought I’d jump on and play it too. State of Decay 2 is a zombie game where you need to build up your base, all whilst gathering resources, getting people to come and join your base, as well as killing zombies. It’s a really simple game to play and really nice and chilled to play with friends! I highly recommend it, I really do love it and the zombies don’t come across as too scary either, which is always good! 🙂

Just a few of my favourite things…

Loungefly bags, old and new!

I didn’t quite realise I received two new Loungefly bags in August, as well as decided to finally cut the tags off of one I bought at the start of 2021! The Pikachu wallet chain bag and the Baymax backpack are my new bags, whilst Meeko is one I bought via a Facebook group (and now one of my Instagram friends!) in January.

I was after a new shoulder bag so decided to pick up the Pikachu bag, however the images that Loungefly have out there are so fucking misleading and make the bag look bigger than it actually is. This being said, it’s the perfect bag for quickly going out to run errands as well as nights out. I’ve used it quite a few times throughout August and it’s a really good bag for if you don’t need to carry much, but still do need a bag.

Alongside that I also decided to purchase the Baymax backpack very last minute. The day the Baymax cosplay backpack and wallet went on sale on the Funko Europe website, I just fell in love with it and had to buy it. I didn’t need it, but I have ZERO REGRETS. I used it over the bank holiday and it’s such an adorable bag! I felt so cute using it around town during mine and my best friends mini bar/pub crawl and I honestly cannot wait to start using it more. I regret not getting the matching wallet for it, so I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled on trying to get it at a decent price in the future.

Finally my Meeko backpack. This is a bag I was after for MONTHS before I finally snagged it via a Loungefly Facebook group. I also got the matching purse, but this is something I’m yet to use. Little story behind how I “missed out” on this bag. I was told by a Forbidden Planet store when the bag was due to come out that they would take my details and pop a bag to one side for me. They didn’t want any money for the bag to be put down as a pre order just in case they never got the bag in stock. This being said, they assured me they WERE going to get the bag in stock. Alas they never and they didn’t even bother to reach out to me to let me know. It was kind of obvious I wouldn’t be getting it and I was gutted. This being said, I have it now and I do really love it! I used it for the first time whilst out for my best friends 30th birthday and it is so comfortable and cute! It feels soft and isn’t a sturdy bag due to this, but this being said, I really love this aspect of the backpack.

I’m hoping to write a post all about my Loungefly collection in the future. If this is something you’re interested in, please let me know! I’d also love to do a YouTube video showing off my collection too, but I’m so anxious about doing YouTube… :’)

Some of my favourite gel nails.

As many of my readers will know, I do love getting my nails done and it’s actually been a really positive change in my life in regards to my anxiety. Before I started getting my nails done I would cute them so short they would bleed. They’re not incredibly healthy, grow quickly, don’t break and it’s stopped me from cutting them short, as well as chewing them when nervous.

My reason for especially posting my nails this month as this set has been one of my favourites to date. The colour shares its name with my gran and is such a beautiful colour to boot. I’m actually getting my gels redone tomorrow and I’m a little sad as I honestly love this set. They’ve lasted so well and they just make me happy to look at. I don’t have a bloody clue what new set I’m going to get yet. xD

Dog sitting again.

Me and Dane dog sat Eddie again for a couple of days and we loved it. If you read my favourites from July, you will have seen that me and Dane had Eddie at ours for a week and we loved every moment of it! We didn’t have him for as long but it was nice to have him around for cuddles, fuss, playtime and walks were lovely to do with him too. I wanted to share this adorable photo of him that I took during my lunch break. He was having a lovely snooze and I felt so guilty when I had to return back to my desk and wake him up.

Claire Likes To Doodle‘s Bernard takes over Birmingham Cass Art!

First of all I want to say how fucking proud I am of Claire, she has come so far in such a short period of time with her art and it’s just growing more and more as the years go by. Over the bank holiday (Saturday) Claire posted on her Instagram page how she was doing something exciting in the Cass Art in Birmingham city centre. I kept my eye on her Instagram stories and she revealed she was actually drawing one of her Bernard’s on the window of Cass Art! I watched the process of it throughout the morning and as me and my best friend would be in town that day, we made sure to take a diversion over to Cass Art to go and take a look, as well as take some photos!

I wanted to show this off and share with you guys, as well as say if you’re in Birmingham and see Claire’s Bernard in the window of Cass Art, make sure to take a photo, post on your Instagram stories and tag Claire’s Instagram page (linked above under the photo) as I know for a fact she would love that! 😀

There we have it then guys, those are my favourites from August! August was a very strange month for me and I feel like September is going to be a nice month, but a very anxious one too.

What were your favourites from August? Also, what are you looking forward to about September? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time guys, I hope you’ve had a great start to September and here’s to spooky season finally beginning! 😛

Redbubble Sweatshirts and Stickers Haul

If there is one thing I have been doing during lock down, it’s shopping… Shop, shop, shop! I honestly don’t know how I have been able to save money up! In all fairness, I don’t like to think I’ve spent a stupid amount of money, but I have been buying things I want and to be honest I have zero regrets.

As I’m not going out due to lock down and only spending a few nights a week talking to friends online, I’ve been on my laptop most of the time. During these times I’m either doing blog work, watching things on YouTube, browsing social media or buying things.

Not only have I browsed wish lists I have saved on my browser, but also wish lists I have on Etsy, eBay, EMP and finally Redbubble, the store I will be talking about today!

I wanted to share with you the goodies I recently bought from Redbubble as I’m so damn happy with everything I bought for various reasons, as well as sharing with you all the amazing customer service I experienced too.

I hope you enjoy this weeks blog post, it’s been a while since I shared a haul with you all (I’m a poet)! 😀

I made three orders with Redbubble, which sounds like a lot but this isn’t the case… I didn’t go shopping mad, I promise! Something happened to the original order I made and I complained to customer service about it.

I ordered the first sweatshirt I am going to talk about, alongside with some stickers. I ordered a men’s size L for the sweatshirt as I planned to wear it really baggy. I own a sweatshirt by One In Hundred that’s a men’s size L and it fits really comfortably. I wanted that feeling again.

The sweatshirt arrived and it looked amazing! The design was just as cute in reality as it was on the images on the website, however the size didn’t look right. I checked the tag which read M. In my head I began to worry it might not fit me, which wasn’t the case at all. If anything the M was a nice size, with the amount of baggy I had expected from the L. Even though I was happy with the M, I wasn’t happy with the fact I was sent the incorrect size.

What if this had been a gift for someone? What if it didn’t fit me? There are more what ifs here too, but those were the two that went through my mind.

I reached out to Redbubble through Twitter and an emailing service on their website to make a complaint/raise my concerns. I have to say, it is not easy to get in touch with Redbubble via email. You have to search for a certain topic and in the end I went for the “Have a query before you order?” option so I could free type an email instead of picking from options.

I always usually go to Twitter first as it’s easy to access and companies often reply quicker via social media. I didn’t expect to hear back from someone via Twitter and email. They offered me not one but two full store vouchers (which I chose as I was offered a full refund too) as an apology for what happened with the sizing. I was pleasantly surprised at this, as I didn’t expect anything considering the size I was sent fit me. Redbubble dealt with my complaint quickly and were really lovely about it.

I’ve been shopping with Redbubble for almost 10 years now and never had a problem until now, so I wasn’t really mad about it. Their customer service is amazing and I honestly cannot recommend Redbubble enough. I love them for the fact you are supporting artists who want to get their designs out there on/as clothing, stickers, phone cases, wall art, home & living pieces, accessories, stationary, gifts and more. It’s one of my favourite places to shop for certain pieces of my favourite things and I cannot recommend them enough.

With the refunds I received I bought myself two more sweatshirts, as well as sticker for me and some stickers for Dane (belated birthday present). I’m not showing the stickers I bought Dane though.

Now, onto the goodies I bought! I’ll show the sweatshirts first and then the stickers.

The first thing I want to say about the sweatshirts is the ones I bought are men’s/unisex sizing and are really comfortable to wear. They’re a little oversized for me and inside they’re all really soft, which is something I always check for when I buy sweatshirts. If they aren’t soft inside, it will take something special for me to buy. I’m thankful these are soft and fluffy inside. They’re perfect for all year around when the weather isn’t very warm and during the wet weather in the UK at the moment they have been perfect!

  • AC:NL- Goldie and Cherry Pullover Sweatshirt – Designed by EpikBecky (link)

This is the first sweatshirt I bought and the one I had “issues” with. The Animal Crossing design on this is gorgeous and I have no regrets ordering it. My favourite type of villages are dogs and I currently have a grand total of four on my island, including Cookie, Bones, Lucky and Goldie. My boyfriend Dane has Cherry on his island. I love that two of our dog villagers are in this design and it makes me feel like they both went to one of our islands to visit one another and have fun together! I love Animal Crossing so much and I need more merchandise from the game in my life. I especially love the oatmeal colour of the sweatshirt as I find the neutral colour works well with the bright colours of both Goldie and Cherry. EpikBecky who designed this has so many more lovely Animal Crossing designs on her Redbubble store, including Molly the duck, Isabelle, K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Flurry the hamster, Mable and Sable and Rosie the cat. They also have an Ice Bear design from We Bear Bears that I love.

  • Bee and Puppycat Pullover Sweatshirt – Designed by Kaitlynn Peavler (link)

This is actually one of the last designs I found, but one both Dane and my friends really loved when I showed them. I decided to pick it up with the first refund I received from Redbubble and I have no regrets. I went for the cobalt blue sweatshirt with this gorgeous Bee and Puppycat print. The design is inspired by one of the first scenes of episode one (not the pilot) where Bee reaches for Puppycat. It’s a gorgeous design and it’s the first out of the three sweatshirts I bought I wore. I wore it for mine and Dane’s anniversary with some black mom jeans. The cobalt blue compliments the colour scheme of the design. I love this so much and I already know I’ll be asked who the characters are when lock down is over.

  • Questions worth asking Pullover Sweatshirt – Designed by Destiny Gaubert (link)

This is one of the first Bee and Puppycat designs I found and I fell in love with the design straight away. Without revealing too many spoilers, this is from the end of season 1 of the show where Puppycat is asking Bee questions to get to know her better. The questions including, “What’s your favourite colour?”, “What’s your favourite food?” and “What’s your favourite animal?”. It’s a really lovely end to the show considering what happens in the last episode. The design again shows the start of the first episode (not the pilot) where Bee is reaching out for Puppycat. I love how it combines the start and end of season 1. I got this on a dark blue/navy sweatshirt and again, it works really well with the colours of the design. I can’t wait to wear this one, as I know it will get a lot of questions. This was the sweatshirt I picked up with the second refund I was given by Redbubble.

  • Dom Animal Crossing Shy Sticker – Designed by rottnmaggtz (link)

I have fallen in love with Dom in Animal Crossing. He’s a new sheep to join the game and he’s absolutely adorable. One of my friends has him on her island and I’m semi jealous… But at least I get to see him when I visit! So I decided to have a look for a Dom sticker whilst browsing through Redbubble when I made my original order. This was my favourite out of all the ones I found so I decided to order it. It’s a decent sized sticker to be honest and has a matte finish to it. I love the design as Dom is always seem as the bashful, adorable sheep with the rainbow tie dye t-shirt (it’s a scarf on the sticker). It’s just so precious and perfect.

  • Morgana Chilling Sticker – Designed by tetrablock (link)

This was another sticker I ordered with the first order I made with Redbubble. Do I really need to explain why I bought a Persona 5 sticker? 😛 As a regular reader you will know how much of a fan I am of the game, as well as my love for Joker, Skull/Ryuji and Morgana, who are my favourites. I bought this sticker to pop onto my iPad case but I actually don’t have room for it, which is a shame. It’s tempted me to stick it on my laptop to jazz it up a bit, but I won’t be doing that as I like my laptop to look “professional”, if that makes sense? This stickers design is so cute though!

  • ACNL K.K. Slider Sticker – Designed by ncdoggGraphics (link)

I have had my eye on this sticker for almost a year now, (mentioned here and here) so I’m glad to finally have it! I ordered it when I made my first refunded order, alongside with some stickers I ordered for Dane as a belated birthday gift. This sticker is so adorable of K.K. Slider, especially with him saying, “Yo.”! This was another sticker I thought about sticking onto my laptop, but again, I want to keep it plain and “boring.” I would like this design on a t-shirt eventually, maybe even a notebook.

So, that is everything I bought from Redbubble recently! I bought so much stuff from there and don’t intend to buy anything else for a while now… Maybe later on in the year for clothing. It’s definitely an amazing place to go to buy things from games, anime, TV series, films and more that you love and are interested in, but that doesn’t have much merchandise around. A great example there is Bee and Puppycat.

Not only did I want to share you all the amazing pieces I picked up, but also what an amazing store Redbubble are, as well as how great their customer service is too. 🙂

Have you ever shopped with Redbubble before? If so how was your experience? What do you think of the sweatshirts and stickers I picked up? Finally, were you aware of Bee and Puppycat before this post?

Make sure to let me know answers to my questions and more in the comments!

Until next time, take care and stay safe all!

June Wish List ’20

I still can’t quite believe it’s June! So much has already happened in June and I’m a mixture of excited for the rest of the month and dreading what it could bring.

Yesterday marked me and Dane owning our home for four years. This has honestly flown by and it only feels like yesterday that we put our offer down on the house and waited those anxious months until we had the keys in our hands! It’s a really lovely feeling and it makes me so happy.

As well as that, on Monday it is our 7 year anniversary. We can’t do much for it, but we may have a lazy morning in bed, play Animal Crossing together and order a takeaway of Japanese food, because why not! 😀 I’m excited to just chill out and cuddle with Dane for the day.

This months wish list was hard to write in a way. I’ve found that due to lock down and not going out at all, I’ve save a lot of money… So, I’ve been really bad and ordered things I’ve wanted for ages. I’ve calmed down a little now as I have made some big home related purchases lately and need to be good with money now.

However, that doesn’t mean I can’t have my wish lists! One of the items on my wish list this month I’ve actually ordered, but I couldn’t think of anything else to add to the list. 😦

Anyhoo, let’s talk about the goodies on my wish list for June!

  • Pandora Poodle Puppy Dog Dangle Charm (link)

I do love my Pandora bracelet and when charms are released that shout out to me, I really do fall in love with them and want to buy them. This poodle puppy dangle charm is adorable and shouts me all over. When I was younger I owned two toy poodles, who I loved so much. I haven’t owned a dog for over 10 years now and whilst I would love a dog to come into mine and Dane’s lives, its not ideal right now. This charm is gorgeous and will definitely remind me of the dogs I had and have lost.

  • JeanaDraws Animal Crossing Dom Enamel Pin (link)

If there is an Animal Crossing villager I have quickly fallen in love with, it’s Dom. He’s one of the newer villagers who joined through New Horizons and he is adorable! However, he also seems to be like Marmite… You either love or you hate him. I adore him and I need him on my island at some point in the future. I would love a Dom enamel pin to show my love, but at the moment I’ve not found any artists who are making one apart from JeanaDraws. I discovered them through their sakura otter Kickstarter, which I sadly never backed and regret. An Animal Crossing itabag I bought at the start of the year is due to arrive soon… So I would love to pop a Dom enamel pin inside it!

  • Razer Kraken Gaming Headphones Quartz Edition (link)

I have been eyeing up buying a set of gaming headphones for quite some time now… But I don’t know why? I play a lot of games, but lately I am just purely playing Animal Crossing, with the occasional hour or so on Persona 5 Royal. However, at the moment with working from home, I would love a decent headset that I can use for both work and home that also looks cool. I know I can get a decent set of gaming headphones for a cheaper price, which is why I haven’t bought these and they’re just on my wish list at the moment. I shall see… I shall see…

  • Sukari Moon I Don’t Give a Fluff Enamel Pin (link)

Another enamel pin and this one is bloody adorable! I actually discovered Sukari Moon through this enamel pin, but the limited edition version of it, which is white and shimmery. I would love this pin to wear on cardigans, jackets and hoodies to show how I’m adorable, but I don’t give a damn at the same time. Of course I would also use and wear this on itabags and my Kanken backpack too. They also do a sticker of this too, which I would love to get.

  • Snotgirl Volume 3 (link)

This is the item I’ve actually ordered. I love Snotgirl and have already read volume 1 and 2. I’ve waited what feels like forever for volume 3 to come out, as it was due out October 2019, but it’s been delayed for reasons. I finally found it for sale through a third party on Amazon and knew I had to order before it sold out. I usually pick up my comics from Forbidden Planet, but due to lock down that isn’t an option. I also opt for Wordery for my manga and comics too, but they didn’t have this volume in stock. I am beyond excited for volume 3 of Snotgirl! It’s about an influencer with secrets about how she has allergies. Then she meets a girl and shit starts to hit the fan. I definitely recommend reading it, especially if you’re a blogger.

  • Toaster Kiwi Animal Crossing Marshal Stickers 2 Piece Set (link)

Finally we have another Animal Crossing item on the list. This one is some cute Marshal stickers. I never got the hype around Marshal until he moved to my New Horizons island. He’s absolutely adorable and he loves coffee! He’s me in an Animal Crossing villager for sure! He randomly came to my campsite too, so it’s not like I added him to my game through amiibo. These stickers by Toaster Kiwi are adorable and really make me happy to see whenever they pop up on my Instagram feed. I’ll order them in the future for sure.

So, there you have it, my wish list for June! I know the items I mentioned weren’t anything special, but it’s all I could think of for this month.

I know May was a month where my blog was a little quieter as I wasn’t feeling great. However, during June I hope to have loads of content coming out every week, which I’m also hoping you guys will love!

Some sneak peaks as to what will be in store are – Redbubble haul, some enamel pin reviews (not sure which yet), Etude House lip tint review and more!

What are you guys excited to see on my blog? Also, what item(s) do you have on/in your wish lists? Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care all and stay safe!

October Wish List ’19

First of all, I REALLY struggled with this months wish list post. I feel like deep down there’s loads of shit I want but I just can’t think of it all to add to this months wish list.

I’ve dug as deep as I can possibly go and sadly this is the best I could come up with. Some of this stuff I do really want, but not that much that I have the urge to pick it up anytime soon. If anything, some of these items I’d actually like to receive as gifts for Christmas or birthday.

Alas, I needed to get my monthly post together… After all, it’s one of my favourites to write and put together! I love showing off all the crap I don’t need but want to buy. 😛

  • Snotgirl Volume 3 (link)

This is in fact something I’ve already pre-ordered! I love the Snotgirl comic series and I’ve waited about a year for the third volume to come out now. Crazy, right? Snotgirl is about a beauty blogger/influencer who looks gorgeous and perfect on the outside, but behind closed doors she suffers terrible allergies… Hence the name of the comic series. There’s some unexpected twists and turns however throughout the comic book series (which I won’t mention in case of spoilers) but honestly, as a blogger I love this series and recommend any bloggers out there to pick it up! 😀 I have to be honest though, the main character pisses me off, she’s such a bitch haha!

  • Hell Bunny Vixey Skirt (link)

I remember seeing a Hell Bunny advert on my Instagram and the dress the girl had on in the advert was gorgeous! I went onto the website in search of it… I had no luck! However, I did discover that Hell Bunny have a gorgeous new print out called “Vixey” which is mustard with foxes on! SOOOOO ME! They have a dress, as well and although I would love this, I do keep saying lately how I would like some more skirts in my wardrobe. I only have one and this alone is hardly worn… No reason why! I would like some more to add to my wardrobe, both for work and for personal. I’d love to team this up with a comfortable black jumper like the model is wearing, shirts and more! I might pick this up soon… It’d be nice to wear to Japan too with my Docs.

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3 on Nintendo Switch (link)

I would like this game (I even mentioned it last month on a post about games I’m excited for!) but I don’t know if I want it yet. It’s not a game I’m rushing out to buy, but I’d purely want to pick it up to play with Dane over the Halloween season and especially if we spend Halloween at home. It would just be fun to play, you know? As I’m off around the time of Halloween it would be nice to stay in for the evening and play this… I’ll see how I feel!

  • Stuffed Fables – An Adventure Book Game (link)

This isn’t something I plan to buy anytime soon and if anything it’s a board game I would much rather receive as a Christmas or birthday present. I’ve eyed this game up since 2018, but only of late have I really invested into it, learning how to play and even looking at heading to Dicebox to give it a go with Dane for a date evening. FYI I just went onto the website so I could link here on my blog and I didn’t realise that there’s a photo of me, Dane and Amy from Writing into the Ether there! How cool eh?! That aside, I do want this game, but considering its hefty price tag I want to make sure I like it first before buying…

  • Pokemon Center London – ALL THE GOODIES!

I almost forgot about going to the Pokemon Centre in London when it opens. Holy shit, HOW DARE I!!! Yeah I plan to potentially pick up some goodies from here, but it all depends. If I can pick up items that I know are available in Japan, I’ll buy them here to save on bringing/sending them back during out holiday. If there are any exclusive items that I know will only be available during the pop up shop in London, I may pick those up too. I won’t be picking up plushies, more stationary and household items. The Pokemon Centre are great for bringing out cookie tins/jars and I’ve only ever purchased (well gifted!) one from there, which I still love to this day. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for things like this. As of yet, no photos have leaked of any goods that will be for sale… Watch my blog though as I may post about it before I go!

That’s all the goodies I can think of sadly in regards to items I want to purchase this month. Honestly, I really struggled this month to come up with things for this list, but alas there are some things here!

What item(s) do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments, including if you’re excited for the Pokemon Centre in London! Are you planning to go?

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re ready for the weekend!

Independent Shops Tour in FarGo Village

When I travel and visit new places there are always a couple of things in particular that I look out for when I’m there, good food and drink and AMAZING geeky shops to visit and spend all my cash at!

When Amy (Writing into the Ether) asked if she could take me around FarGo Village in Coventry on a little tour, I couldn’t say no really. Although my boyfriend is from Coventry and we often ventured into the town centre when he lived there, we never really went to FarGo Village. Why? I don’t actually know!

We’ve been since, but Amy took me around everywhere, which was so much fun!

In return I recently took Amy on a tour of my favourite places to visit in Birmingham, which she’s written about and posted today on her blog! I’ll link her post here so you can go and read where we went. Birmingham is amazing for geeky shopping, as well as amazing Asian food and drink, so much so we are planning another trip to tick off the places we didn’t manage to go.

FarGo Village is classed as Coventry’s creative quarter and from photos I actually thought it was bigger than it is. I feel like that due to the fact they’ve made so much use out of all the space, which is amazing. It reminds me of the Custard Factor in Digbeth Birmingham, which is somewhere I practically lived in as a student and in my early 20’s.

FarGo is an artistically re-purposed industrial space in Coventry City Centre, designed exclusively for creative, independent businesses and like-minded visitors. Located on Far Gosford Street, a recently regenerated area with a rich cultural heritage.

We are fiercely independent! We have an eclectic mix of over 40 independent businesses based here, including a craft brewery, artisan food, vegan shop, printing , a museum dedicated to Sgt Bilko and a Crossfit Box!

Quote taken from FarGo website

FarGo Village isn’t just a place to go shopping but is also great for food and drink! As of yet I haven’t actually eaten in FarGo Village, although I have eaten at places on Far Gosford Street. I’m sure in the future I will have something to eat at FarGo Village!

They so have SOME geeky things, including some Studio Ghibli art books which you can pick up from TAG! Artwork.

FarGo Village isn’t full of geeky places to shop, but it does have a lot of amazing independent shops to visit, with some already becoming must have shopping destinations for whenever I visit Coventry moving forward.

The first place we ventured to was Sgt Bilko’s Vintage Emporium which was pretty cool! It’s a vintage memorabilia shop with various different geeky bits and pieces, from Doctor Who, Star Wars, Marvel and more! They had loads of comic books in there where you could grab 10 for £10, which Amy took advantage of. I’m not a comic book girl myself and much prefer manga. This being said, the shop still had some amazing geeky pieces though, a definite must place to go if you’re into vintage geeky films and TV shows, I’m more of an otaku girl. 😛

We popped into Budda Boutique where I picked myself up some incense cones, which I have since used and have made my house smell gorgeous. This is the perfect place for hippies to visit, as it is a holistic shop that sells various different products ranging from clothing, healing crystals, jewellery and more! I loved collecting and using healing crystals growing up so whenever I venture into shops like this it really does bring back some nostalgia for me. This is a lovely store and one I will go back to time and time again when I visit FarGo Village.

We ventured onto the opposite side of FarGo Village to have a look at some of the stores I love the most in Fargo Village.

TAG! Artwork is definitely one that has caught my eye due to the cute and quirky books they sell! They do also sell art supplies too but I was in there for the manga! They sell quite a bit of manga to be fair, which is really nice. However, a lot of the manga they sell is also faded from the sunlight, which is a bit of a shame all around but mostly due to the fact they’re selling these for full price too. :S I’d want a discount considering they’re technically “damaged”. They also sell some quirky books and I regret not picking up the book Japanese Floaty Food Guide as I would love to have this for when I go to Japan. Next time I’m in FarGo Village I plan to pick it up!

Container No.8 is full of some right little gems and it’s a shop I would love to buy something from, but both times I’ve been (once with Amy and once with Dane) I’ve always wanted to be good. If I had of splurged a little, I think I would have ended up getting one of these cute little dinosaur necklaces by Bekbek Makes. Honestly, I always eye these cuties up whenever I go in but I just never buy one. 😦 I really love the green triceratops pin badge that I saw, but again. I left him behind. 😦 Bekbek Makes does have an online shop, which I have linked back to under the sellers name here. 🙂

Check out some of the items I love from Bekbek Makes:

Stegosaurus Necklace Large – Pastel Purple & Blue

Triceratops Pin Badge- Dark Purple & Green

Stegosaurus Pin Badge – Pink & Green

Container No.8 was a bit of a mix match of local sellers produce and items, which I really like! It means there is one shop with all sorts of different goods. These cute little honey bar bottles were too cute to not snap a photo of.

I’m not a vegan, hell I’m not even a vegetarian but The Green Unicorn Vegan Store is an interesting little store and I actually picked something up from there during our shopping trip. This gorgeous little store is promoting not only vegan produce but also for people to cut down and stop using plastic, which is something I would like to stop doing and I’m trying to do. The Green Unicorn Store is perfect because you can bring in your own jars, bottles and more to fill up with goods and take away. I ended up buying some cloth bags which I now use when I’m out shopping and want to buy fruit. I feel good not using plastic one use bags. 🙂

The last shop we ventured into before we decided to get a drink was, and I LOVED it so much! Fantayzia Designs is a retro style store that creates things out of stuff people bring in, as well as sell some of those items too. For example the owner has created lamps out of old cassette tapes, which looked really cool! I’m gutted I didn’t take a photo of them to be honest.

I love how the entrance to the shop has some chairs and vintage games on old TV’s. Anything like this attracts me straight away and when we went inside I made sure to have a look at what vintage games, consoles and more that they had on offer. I’m a console collector so I’m always into finding gems like this. Due to this however, it did break my heart a little to see this Game Boy Pocket turned into a clock… 😛 That being said, it was pretty cool all the same. ^_^

When we were shopped out we decided to head to my favourite place in FarGo Village, Bubble Boba for some must needed drinks and natter. I ordered the Red Velvet cheesecake, which was AMAZING! Definitely my favourite drink from there now. I visited Bubble Boba for Mockail Party and Masterclass recently, which was organised by Bubble Boba and Amy, which you can read about here.

It had started to rain not long after we sat down outside Backhaus & Co with our drinks so we finished chatting, drank up and headed for shelter in The Big Comfy Bookshop.

I really love The Big Comfy Bookshop and this was my first time visiting. I haven’t ventured into FarGo Village since me and Amy did so I haven’t been back, but honestly that place is perfect for anyone who just wants a bit of piece and quiet to write on their own, or with friends. I wish there was somewhere like this near my home so I could venture there after work to grab a coffee and do some blog writing.

The thing I love the most about The Big Comfy Bookshop is how all the books they sell second hand books and let you sit to read them too. I found a gem from my teenage years and it made me so nostalgic! I still own the novel Guitar Girl which I still love and read occasionally (maybe I’ll write a story post about this book in the future?). I also found some amazing cookbooks for sale! They also have a selection of manga on the shelves, which they need more of. 😛

We stayed for a drink, a bit of cake and some more natter before we parted ways. It was a lovely day and I really enjoyed the little tour Amy gave me of FarGo Village. I really want to go again when they have an event on. They had a car related event on this day which to be honest annoyed me. People were revving their cars occasionally which just ruined the relaxed mood for me. I can’t moan about that too much however, as I know this doesn’t always happen in FarGo Village.

We didn’t managed to pop into some shops, as I have a feeling due to it being Sunday, they were shut. I think this is such a shame as it means if people work in retail and get Sunday’s off, they miss out on all the gems in FarGo Village.

Some of the places I’m sad we missed out on are:

Olivia Thomas Handmade – I don’t recall if we saw this or not, or if we did and it wasn’t open but the handmade pieces by Olivia Thomas look and sound gorgeous and I’d definitely love to go in the future to pick some pieces up for myself, as well as for friends and family as gifts.

Oshin Art & Craft – This place reminds me of Japan and I don’t know why. It just looks so crafty and kawaii inside, but I feel like when I went in before it just wasn’t for me. I’d love to go again to see what it’s all about!

The Drawing Room – A tattoo shop where (obvs) you can get tattooes done! I know a few people who have a few pieces done here, especially by Kerste Diston (kerste_tattoos on Instagram). Her pieces are gorgeous and she recently posted a photo of design she drew of Haku from Spirited Away.

Overall I loved the little tour Amy took me on of FarGo Village! I don’t think I could have asked for anyone better to take me around. Amy is so passionate about FarGo Village and it shows constantly. I can understand why she loves it so much, it’s such a quaint little place full of unique shops and little treasures. I really want to venture to FarGo Village more in the future, especially when there are events being held there.

Oh by the way, look at how famous Amy is in The Big Comfy Bookshop! 😛

If you’re ever in Coventry will you be popping into FarGo Village? Do you have anything like FarGo Village where you live? If you do, please let me know about it! 😀

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely morning so far.

I thought I’d do an overall favourites post about 2018, because although I do it monthly and talk about my favourites, it’d just be good to have a summary of favourites from throughout the year.

Wish List Wednesday – The Body Shop

I wasn’t planning on doing a wish list Wednesday post for quite a while, but recently The Body Shop came out with their limited edition banana range and I NEED it in my life! I was actually going to order them over the weekend, but I’m leaving it until payday as I need to be good.

So I thought this would be the right time to talk about the banana collection on a wish list Wednesday post, as well as talk about some bath goodies The Body Shop have out now!

  • The Body Shop Banana Shower Cream – (link)

As soon as I heard about The Body Shop bringing out this shower cream, I was so excited! Finally they had listened to me (obviously they didn’t… :P) and my cries for a banana range, other than the hair care! I used to love the shampoo due to the scent but I stopped using it as it didn’t do anything for my hair. Sadly the banana range is only limited edition, but I’ll make sure to stock up due to that! When pay day hits I’ll be ordering one, maybe two of these to try out!

  • The Body Shop Mango Bath Bomb – (link)

I recently found out that The Body Shop now stock bath products and as I’ve recently stopped buying from Lush, I’ve been on the look out for somewhere new to get my bath time treats. Christmas 2016 They brought out some little bath fizzers which I tried and loved! I love the sound of mango though, especially for summertime and the best bit about these? They’re super cheap and affordable!

  • The Body Shop Banana Yogurt – (link)

I’m not someone who moisturises. I have been on and off in the past but these days I’m not arsed. Why? Because it makes me feel hot and sticky and due to that I HATE it! In the past I’ve given The Body Shop’s body sorbets and I loved them. I just felt like they weren’t moisturising my skin, which is a shame. The body yogurts sound similar to the sorbets but much more moisturising! I’m definitely going to pick one up to have a go with. I love the smell of banana so much and I’ve heard this smells of foam banana sweets, yay!

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bath Bubble – (link)

Not only do The Body Shop now sell bath bombs, but they do bubble bars too! This is super exciting as I LOVE bubble bars! I especially love that they sell one in coconut as this is one of my favourite scents from The Body Shop. They have another two scents too but they’re both bleh! I’m definitely going to give this bath bubble a go and like the bath bombs, they’re at an affordable price.

  • The Body Shop Passionberry Lip Balm – (link)

I don’t really wear many lipsticks anymore, at least not at the moment anyway! I love wearing lip balm and rings and I’m always on the hunt for something colourful and conditioning. I know The Body Shop ones are pretty good and at a good price. There’s a couple of different flavours and shades but I like this purple passion berry one the most.

  • The Body Shop Banana Body Butter – (link)

If there is one product I hate by The Body Shop it’s their body butters! I’ve owned a couple in the past and using them has been such a misery for me. They’re just too thick and I always ended up throwing them away, giving them away or using them as hand butters. If I was to buy this banana body butter I’d use it as the latter, a hand butter. My hands get really dry and whilst L’Occitane helps them, I would like to find something else that helps them too, especially if it’s banana scented!

  • The Body Shop Green Tea Bath Bomb – (link)

The final product on this wish list is yet another bath bomb! I’ve not tried any of the green tea range from The Body Shop but I have smelt it in the past and it smells so refreshing and summery! It’d be nice to use this bath bomb on a hot summer evening to relax and unwind. Again, these bath bombs are affordable so I wouldn’t feel guilty picking it up.

So those are The Body Shop products that I have on my wish list/future purchasing list. I’m going to wait until I get a decent discount code or venture in a store before I pick anything up.

Have you got your eye on any goodies from The Body Shop? Let me know in the comments what you want to pick up!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week.

June Favourites ’18

I cannot believe it is July! I ended off June by getting incredibly drunk and nursing a monster of a hangover with McDonalds chicken nuggets. xD

Oh dear. It’s a lovely warm day though, I’m between doing housework and blog work and getting ready to go out to a wedding this evening. I usually get my monthly blog posts written up and scheduled about a week in advance, but sadly that isn’t the case this month… OOPS! 😛

Anyway, enough blabbering, on with the favourites this month! 😀

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

If there is a product that I have REALLY loved lately, it’s definitely this tea tree skin wash, which you can use all over your body, including your face. My skin has been breaking out really bad lately, so much so that I worried I might have acne. Alas, it was just some of the products I was using on my skin as since I started using this stuff on my face it has changed dramatically! Not only that but I use it on my body too as a shower gel and I always get out of the shower feeling fresh and clean! I always forget how much I love this skin wash and from now on it’s definitely going to be a constant piece of my shower/bath!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I recently picked up this old favourite again as I was in need of a new eye gel. I’ve used this on and off over the years and never had a problem with it, but sometimes I’ve found it to be too expensive for what it is and that’s why I didn’t pick one up. However, recently I found it at a price I was willing to pay and oh man, I forgot how great this eye balm is! As many of us Brits know, it’s been really hot in the UK most of June so this eye balm has come in handy for helping cool down my eyes early in the morning, as well as in the evening before bed.

  • L’Occitane Almond Foot Cream.

I don’t actually know if L’Occitane even sell this anymore but I’ve started using it lately to help soften my feet. On and off for about a year now I appear to now have eczema on one of my feet, which sucks. Since using this food cream in the mornings before work the eczema has improved dramatically! Some days I don’t use it, but most days I do. Due to the almond it smells really good too and has a matte texture to it so it doesn’t leave your feet feeling greasy after use, which is great!

  • Le Mini Macaron Gel Manicure Kit in Midnight Blueberry.

I’ve wanted to try the Le Mini Macaron gel kits for agggges! It started off as a Kickstarter and I remember discovering it after it had finished. I’ve had my eye on the kits online for a while but I didn’t feel that the £30-£35 price tag was really worth it for what you get. However, recently House of Fraser had some of the kits on offer for just £10! So I finally picked one up. I’m so glad I did as I now have a new found love for gel nail polish and since then I’ve used more gel polishes with it than the one provided in the kit. Sadly House of Fraser don’t have anymore of these kits left. 😦

  • Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Finishing Brush.

I picked up this hair brush when I went to Bristol at the start of June and oh my God, it has changed my life so much! For about 5-6 years now I’ve been using this style of brush, but never the Tangle Teezer brand. I knew I was in need of a new hair brush so I decided to use my Boots points to pick up one of these brushes, as well as their smoothing tool brush which you use when blow drying your hair. Their brushes are just amazing and I cannot wait to review them both on my blog.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10.

Holy shit this season was crazy of RuPaul’s Drag Race and I’m not going to lie or reveal any spoilers, but I am so annoyed at who won… But whatever. If there was one queen on this season who I loved to the moon and back, it’s Monet x Change. She is such an amazing queen and she made me laugh constantly and SHE SHOULD HAVE FUCKING ONE! My favourite moment in this season is the clip I’ve posted above, and it’s definitely one of my favourite moments EVER! 😀

Favourite Film – The Shawshank Redemption.

This is such a random film to have on my favourites this month, but it’s probably the only one I’ve actually watched. I fancied watching it after realising that Hank in Detroit:Become Human is the mean prison ward in this film! I just felt the need to watch it again really and I always forget what an amazing film this is. I’m watching it right now as I write this blog post… 😛

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

I bought quite a few Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga’s in June as 2 of them came out. I always love when I get the newest volume because I can carry on where the anime left off. I don’t feel like I need to write too much about this manga series as I feel like I wrote WAY TOO MUCH about them throughout June. 😛

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Panic! At The Disco – A Fever You Can’t Swear Out.

I don’t know quite why, but recently on my journeys to and from work I’ve been mostly listening to A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out and it really took me back to over 10 years ago when it came out. I remember going and buying it one weekend and I listened to it so much at school. I just forgot how much I love it and it’s such a great album for summer too. I don’t care how old the album is, it’s still a classic!

Favourite Game – VR Chat and Pokemon GO.

Well this is a game I’ve wanted to play for the longest time and although I only have a handful of times, I LOVE IT SO MUCH! The first time I went on the game I was incredibly overwhelmed and confused, I didn’t even turn my microphone on as I was too anxious to talk. The second time I went on the microphone was on and I had an amazing time with random people, one even told me how to do bits and pieces on there and it was lovely. As I wore a skin of an anime girl, I become some Ugandan Knuckles’s queen! It was hilarious and Dane filmed the whole thing. I’m really hoping to start making gaming videos with Dane. Keep eyes peeled for that in the future. 😛

I couldn’t not talk about Pokemon GO this month as I recently downloaded it again and since playing it with Dane and our friends I am in love with it! 😀 We’ve been out with our friends a few times now to play it and walked around our area as well as parks. I’ve also bought the Pokemon GO Plus so I can still play whilst I’m out and about without pulling my phone out of my handbag. I’ll be talking about that very soon! But yeah, I love Pokemon Go and I cannot wait to play it more over the summer.

So those are my favourites from June! What were you loving throughout last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, I hope you all have a lovely day and are enjoying the warm weather.

May 2018 Collective Haul!

I don’t know how managed to collect so much stuff over the course of a month but I have! I haven’t written a haul post in forever so I thought it would be nice to do one today. I just feel like I’m accumulated loads of goodies, some of them are gifts as well which I’ll mention when I get to them. I thought it might be a good idea to write about all the shit (hahaha :P) I’ve purchased recently. I love reading haul posts, especially collectives ones so I thought you guys might have liked to read this too! 😀

  • Barbie x Missguided American Flag Joggers.

Back in May Dane dug out all the McDonald’s Monopoly vouchers he’d gained and he had LOADS of Missguided ones at 30% off. I decided to take the plunge and have a look on the website for what I could treat myself to. Now, Missguided really isn’t my sort of style. I looked for ages for a dress (or two) that I could pick up for work but they’re all going out bodycon style and urgh… I’m too fat and old for that shit now. 😛 I went for a look at the Barbie pieces to see what they might have cute over there and I found these joggers. On my weekends I’m really becoming a joggers/leggings and a geeky top sort of gal when it comes to popping out for errands. I picked these up in a size bigger than I am as I wanted them baggy… I should have ordered my size in all honesty. These are HUGE but at the same time it means they’re really comfortable.

  • Primark Spider-Man T-Shirt.

This t-shirt was bought on a whim after venturing into my nearest Primark store. I’m sucker for a new t-shirt and I especially am when it comes down to anything geek and nerd related! I picked up this t-shirt because of how simplistic and yet adorable it is! I don’t like that the patch is on the side that I wear my braid on, as it means my hair gets caught on it sometimes. I’ll live though! This was only £8.00, which I find a bargain, even for Primark!

  • Black Milk Clothing Midnight Owl Skater Dress.

This was a purchase that I am so happy I made! I love Black Milk Clothing and I especially love their skater dresses. They always make me feel so pretty no matter what and I always get complimented on them. I picked this one up on a whim from eBay, in a size bigger than I usually get, which actually fits really nicely! It’s safe to say, it’s going to now be my go to dress for work, in general and even for special occasions. This only cost me £25, which included P&P. To buy from Black Milk Clothing it would have cost me $85.00 AUS, which converts to £48.42, that wouldn’t even include how much I’d have to pay to ship it to the country and possible charges on top of that as well. URGH, buying through eBay really is the best way! I plan to wear this to a friends wedding in July and I wore it for mine and Dane’s anniversary too. I’m after some more Black Milk Clothing skater dresses now, I honestly can’t get enough of them. I’m scouring eBay daily now for whenever new items are added. I have my eye on a few, but we’ll see what happens.

  • ASOS Lady & The Tramp Sweater.

This was a random purchase on Depop that I made recently, which was also my first Depop purchase! I remember when the matching sweater and joggers of this came out on ASOS 4 years ago and being a Lady & The Tramp fan, I picked up the joggers (which I still own and wear!). I went to order the sweater a week later, but it was sold out. Zoella had worn this set and everyone went mad for it, yuck (I’m not a Zoella fan…). ANYWAY after years of finding this sweater online and it selling out, I finally took the plunge and bought it! It only cost me £13 with P&P which I was so chuffed about! The original cost of this was £30 so I was right to wait 4 years for it… I guess. 😛 It’s weird that I found my wish list post back from July 2014 where I was talking about how I wanted this sweater! I feel so fucking old right now.

  • Snot Girl Volume 2.

I mentioned this comic book series recently on both my May favourites as well as on my June wish list. I remember picking up this comic book a year ago after a YouTuber raving about it. I didn’t realise the story line was going to go the way it has and due to that I love it so much and if I felt that way after reading volume 1 then oh my fucking God this volume is crazy! I won’t say anything in case I give anything away, but this comic book has gone from what I thought was going to just be about a blogger and her drama, but it’s fast turned into some sort of horror/thriller style story based around a blogger. It is so damn good and I would love to see this go into a TV series of a film in the future like how Scott Pilgrim did.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 6.

I feel like I’ve spoken WAY TOO MUCH about this series lately and it’s kind of making me sick now to keep talking about it. 😛 This is a manga series I love and adore and have bought as soon as it’s come out so far for all 6 volumes. I pre ordered this just before it came out and read it as soon as I got it. This is a series I really love and I especially love how now I’m further than the anime series is. I’ve not quite finished reading it yet, but I will do VERY soon. 😛

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Volume 2.

Another manga I have spoken WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT recently, but can you blame me? It’s amazing and adorable! Also at the same time it’s very strange how the story of Kanna and her friend Saikawa is and this shows more throughout this series. If you love Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid the anime version then you NEED to read this manga series at least! I know so many people who love Kanna, and I can’t blame them really. She’s so adorable and innocent.

These items below are now all gift related!

I recently had some issues with Lush Santa’s Christmas shower cream. It’s a bright red colour and obviously due to what they’ve added to the product to make it this colour, it’s stained various parts of my bath, as well as my shower puff and even my armpits (only for the day though). So I wrote to them on Twitter to complain. They were really helpful and offered to give me my money back, but that meant sending the product back and 1. I couldn’t be arsed to do that and 2. Why the fuck should I have to send it back?! What are they going to do with it that I can’t do myself? AKA throw it away.

They were lovely enough to also offer to sent me some goodies as a sorry, which I opted for. They asked me to list them some products I either love or would like to try. They were nice enough to send me one of my favourite products, as well as new one I’ve been wanting to try!

I just want to quickly add here that I know a lot of shit has been going on and happening around Lush lately due to their recent and disgraceful campaign. I don’t agree with it whatsoever. I also want to add I haven’t bought from Lush since I picked up the Santa’s Christmas shower creams just after Boxing Day. I need to really address my thoughts and feelings on Lush lately, but we will save that for another post!

  •  Lush Supertramp Bubble Bar.

This is the product I mentioned being one of my favourites. I remember back in 2015 when me and Dane went to London and it was the first time I’d been to the Oxford Street Lush! This was an exclusive to the store at the time and as I loved Tramp shower gel back in the day, I knew I had to give the bubble bar a go too! The bubble bar to me is better as it isn’t as strong and it’s one I love to use when I’m feeling under the weather with hayfever or a cold. It really clears my head. I’m so happy Lush sent me this and even happier that if and when I need to buy another bar of it, I now can on their website.

  • Lush Oaty Creamy Dreamy Oat Milk Shower Cream.

This was the product I wanted to try as I haven’t really heard much about it, but when seeing how it’s made in the past it looks really moisturising! It smells amazing to be honest and really surprised me. I was expecting creamy oat and vanilla scents, but this smells heavily of lavender, which is in fact one of the ingredients. If you love lavender, you’ll love this! It’s not a thick shower cream like Santa’s Christmas and you only need a little of this for it to go a long way. This is definitely a shower cream you’d ideally want to use before bed, but I love using it in the morning on my days off as the scent does perk me up. I’ll probably buy a big bottle of this for my mom at Christmas as she loves her lavender scents.

This wasn’t a gift from Lush but actually from my manager at work! It’s belated birthday present and I am oh so grateful for it! She gave it me just before I broke up for my week off work and I used it the next morning before going to work.

  • Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel.

This is a shower gel from Lush I’ve wanted to try since it came out, but I just never have. When my manager gave it to me I was so happy and excited! So much so I opened it up for a sniff at my desk. 😛 She had heard of me saying how much I love Snow Fairy and popped into the store to try and get one, but alas being a Christmas product they didn’t have it in stock. I can only assume that the staff recommended Plum Rain to her and if so, they did a good job! Then again, what else could they really recommend?! Their shower gel selection is so shit these days! I mean come on Lush, why did you discontinue The Comforter?! Surely it wasn’t doing poor in sales… I find it hard to believe myself… ANYWAY this has a gorgeous fresh scent and it actually reminds me of Christmas due to The Body Shop’s old sugar plum shower gel! This doesn’t smell as sweet as theirs though. Either way I love using this in the mornings as the scent really does wake you up!

So that was my collective haul! I know it doesn’t seem/look like a lot but bloody hell I’ve been spend happy lately! I was also going to mention mine and Dane’s anniversary presents but I’ll save that for a separate post.

I was also going to mention some of the pin badges I’ve bought from Ohayou! Clothing through their Kickstarter and Patreon but I’m going to save those for a separate post as well as I think they deserve some love all on their own! 😀 Not only will I be talking about pin badges but I intend to talk about all of their items I own so far, as well as items I’d like to own! Stay tuned for that, it’s been a post I’ve been meaning to write for the longest time!

What have you guys been buying the past month or so? Make sure to let me know down in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

May Favourites ’18

It is already June and we are officially halfway through the year! It’s also one of the most exciting months for me and Dane are celebrate when we bought the house, as well as our anniversary. It’s a big one this year for us, as we’ve been together 5 years and in the house for 2 years. I’m excited for our week off together too, which starts today!

Throughout some of May I was rather quiet on my blog and sadly this was due to my mental health playing up. Blogging wasn’t on my agenda, hell not even reading manga or playing games was either in all honesty. All I did for one week was sleep, I was exhausted. Thankfully I’ve come out of that funk and I’m back to doing what I love! Playing games, reading manga, watching lots of Netflix and of course BLOGGING!

I cannot wait to bring you guys more exciting posts throughout June, as well as the rest of the year! I hope you’re all as excited as I am. For now however, it’s time to talk about my favourites from May.

HAND FOOD™ MINI

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Mini Hand Food.

You know when you forget about a product you love? Yeah that was me with this hand cream in May. I’m a real sucker for hand creams, especially ones that smell amazing and take care of my skin at the same time. As someone who is prone to eczema on their hands, I have to use hand cream all the time to avoid being in pain later. I remember buying the sugar crush hand cream years ago and falling in love with it. I used it all the time but for some reason, I stopped and I’m not quite sure why. I have a feeling I was savouring this in case Soap & Glory discontinued it. I had a look recently on Boots website and thankfully this is still available to buy! It’s just really helped my hands both at work and at home. I love the sugar crush scent as well by Soap & Glory so to have a hand cream that shares that scent just makes me so happy. I love using it throughout the warmer months, but I also love using it at Christmas as it reminds me of sugar crush gift sets I’ve received. Sadly due to using this hand cream up I don’t have it to photograph, so sadly all you’re getting is a stock photo. 😛

  • Lush Santa’s Christmas Shower Cream.

This shower cream is amazing and I wouldn’t have dug it out of my collection so early, but as I picked up two bottles of it I thought I’d have one to use throughout the summer and then one for winter. It smells absolutely amazing, just like cherry cola but with a hint of vanilla too. Due to it being a shower cream it leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft, leaving behind a gorgeous scent! It also lingers in the bathroom for quite some time as well, which is always lovely. Sadly I’ve had a few issues with this shower cream the past month but I still love it so much! Sadly from using this as both a shower cream and bubble bath/bath cream I’ve noticed that the red colour of it stains my bath… Urgh! I made a complaint to Lush about it not thinking anything would come from it but thankfully it did! I’ll write about it properly soon but basically they offered to either refund me and I could send the shower cream back, or they could send me some goodies as an apology, I went for the latter. I’m planning to review this shower cream sometime this month. I know it’s a limited edition Christmas product, but it won’t hurt, will it?

  • L’Oreal Paris Smooth Sugar Clear Kiwi Face and Lip Scrub.

I picked this sugar scrub up quiet a while ago… I’m thinking back in April time and I’ve used it loads since then and I absolutely love it to be honest. You’re meant to use it 3 times a week, but I only use it once as I feel that’s more than enough alongside other beauty products I use. This is just such a great face scrub to use for a gentle, yet effective scrub all over the face as well as on my lips. As well as noticing how soft it left my skin after, it’s also helped clean out my pores and left me with lovely clear and clean skin! I cannot wait to review this sugar scrub on my blog this month! 😀

  • Carex Fun Bubblegum Hand Gel.

I picked up this hand gel recently as I wanted a new one to keep on my bedside table. I also picked one up for work but that was in the strawberry scent, which isn’t as nice as the bubblegum scent. This is really light in scent and feels lightweight after applying it to your hands. This is never going to be as good as the Bath & Body Works hand gels but this is pretty damn good nonetheless and they only cost a 99p too. I’ll definitely repurchase this in the future as it’s such an amazing scented hand gel for the price!

  • Victoria’s Secret PINK Happy Holiyay Body Mist.

This is an old body spray, probably from 2 Christmases ago to be honest with you I’ve only just got around to using it after using up OTHER products! I use this pretty much every day before I get dressed. I spray it all over my skin and the scent lasts all day! I just love using this, especially whilst the weather has been warmer and I need something light to wear instead of perfume. I’ll be sad once I’ve used all my VS PINK body mists up, but it just means I can grab something else in the future!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

13 Reasons Why GIF

Favourite TV Show – 13 Reasons Why Season 2 and Evil Genius.

Now I know a lot of people hated on 13 Reasons Why when it came out last year, so those same people if not more will hate on it this year. I LOVE this show so damn much and when I watched season 1 I was going through some shitty and dark places in my life. In theory this show probably didn’t make me feel better, but it made me feel less alone. So when season 2 came out last month I was anxious it would be rubbish. It wasn’t the best in the world, no but it was like seeing old friends again. I really did enjoy season 2 and I cannot believe how it ends! I’m not saying much as I don’t want to reveal spoilers. Let’s put it this way though, if you thought some of the scenes in season 1 were graphic, wait until you see season 2. I felt uncomfortable and that takes a lot for me to feel that way. Be cautious when watching it, especially if scenes from season 1 upset you.

As well as binge watching 13 Reasons Why, me and Dane binge watched Evil Genius in ONE EVENING! One of the girls I worked with was telling me about the documentary and had asked if I’d watched it. It was thanks to her talking to me about it that encouraged me to check it out myself. I LOVE crime documentaries and I’m a complete sucker for them (especially if they’re in the UK!) and from what I had found out about the crime committed in Evil Genius and what it was about, I knew I needed to watch. It’s basically about a crime that occurred back in America in 2003 where I man robbed a bank with a bomb around his neck. From here you find out who that man was, what happened to him, how the bomb came to be around his neck as well as many more. This is all explained in 4 episodes, all an hour each. If you liked Making A Murderer then you will LOVE Evil Genius. I’ve popped the trailer above so you can check it out if you fancy it!

Ryan Reynolds Thats Just Lazy Writing GIF

Favourite Film – Deadpool 2.

Come on, which film did you think I was going to talk about this month?! Of course it HAS TO BE DEADPOOL! Oh man I have so much I could say about this film. First of all, it was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I love Deadpool and I love Ryan Reynolds, so when the two merged together a couple of years back and brought us that sickening leaked trailer, I was so happy. Ryan Reynolds was destined to play Deadpool. SO when the second film was announced I was so excited, yet anxious all at the same time. I love Deadpool but I worried a second film may ruin it. Thankfully, good ol’ silver fox Ryan Reynolds did an amazing job yet again and brought to the screens the anti hero everyone loves. The cast was perfect, the acting was great and most of the the comedy had me fucking crying in the cinema. I want to go and watch Deadpool 2 again, but I doubt I will. I just cannot wait for it to come out now so I can watch it at home over and over again!

Snotgirl Volume 1: Green Hair Don't Care by Bryan Lee O'Malley

Favourite Book – Snotgirl.

I’m ashamed to say that I bought this comic back at the start of 2017 when it first came out and I have only just gotten around to finishing it. I’ve now ordered the second volume already because I am loving this comic book series already! It’s by Bryan O’Malley, the same guy who brought us Scott Pilgrim (which I need to read in the future!) and I discovered it through the YouTuber NinkComPoop when she was talking about it in one of her videos agggggges ago! I immediately ordered it from Amazon to read and fell in love. I forgot all about the fact I hadn’t actually finished it due to me and Dane moving our comic books around the house. I dug it out over the last bank holiday Monday and finally finished it! It’s about Lottie, a blogger who is out there, doing well and looks good! BUT behind closed doors she suffers with terrible allergies and is snotty due to them. There’s way more to the story than that, but I won’t say anything that gives away the story. I definitely urge you to read it if you’re a blogger and love comic books and manga. The only downside to Snotgirl is well… Lottie herself. She’s a bit of a twat and annoying but meh that’s her character I think. She’s just so pretentious and snobby, very up her own arse blogger, which I hate. That aside, it’s definitely worth reading!

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Flyleaf and Ariana Grande – No Tears Left To Cry.

Two totally different artists, but that just goes to show the type of music I’m into and how diverse I can be! 😛 First of all let’s address the Ariana Grande song being here this month and why. Due to the radio being on at work (Heart FM) we listen to a lot of pop music, if I had it my way I would have my rock music on, Bam Radio or even podcasts. Some of the music that comes on catches my fancy and recently No Tears Left To Cry has done just that. At first I hated the lyrics and loved the tune, now I love both! I find myself getting excited when this song plays on the radio as it’s just so damn catchy, upbeat but also relaxing at the same time! I’ve never heard one of Ariana Grande’s songs before until now. Sadly the rest of her music really isn’t for me, but she did good with this one!

NOW onto Flyleaf, one of my favourite bands and a band I’ve been listening to for quite a bit of May! I love how I can go without listening to Flyleaf for months but when I come back to them it’s like seeing an old friend. I love listening to them on my way to work as I just enjoy singing along to the words and thinking about what they are and mean. That sounds soppy as anything, but it’s true! Surely others do this and it isn’t just me?!

Favourite Game – Detroit: Become Human.

If there is a game I have been excited for these past 4-6 years, it’s Detroit: Become Human. I knew I needed to get hold of this game as soon as it came out, if not beforehand via pre order. Sadly I didn’t get to pre order it in time so I didn’t get it on the release date, instead I picked it up the next day and oh man am I glad I waited to pick it up! Due to some Nectar points as well as a Sainsbury’s coupon, I saved £10 on this game, so instead of £47, I paid £37 instead!  In all honesty though, at full price this game would have been well worth the money! I’m such a saddo and over the bank holiday Monday, I completed the game in the 3 days! Oh man it is just so good and I cannot wait to replay it already! If you own a PlayStation 4 and have played either Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls then you will love Detroit: Become Human, which is by the same people as those two games.

So those were my favourites for May! I’m sure my favourites from June will be just as good. I still cannot believe we’re in June already. 2018 is going by so bloody quickly and whilst it’s great, it’s also so scary that my life is flashing by me.

What were your favourites from May? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and have an amazing weekend.
