September Favourites ’17

I’m currently on holiday when this post will go live on my blog and although I’ve only really been in the UK for just over 2 weeks for the month of September, I can still write what products I loved throughout that time… Right? 😛

I do apologise for poor image quality… I took this the night before we left and was rushing to get so much done. 😦

  • Garnier PureActive Intensive 3in1 Charcoal Anti-Blackhead.

This is a product I bought on a whim. I love any facial cleansing products that contain charcoal, as it’s great for oily skin and can really help pull any crap out of your pores. As the title suggests this is a 3in1 product which means you can use it as a facial wash, scrub and as a mask. This isn’t the BEST product in the world but it’s done some wonders for my skin so far! It’s not as scrubby as I was hoping it would be, but my skin has been having some sensitive days recently so this has really helped when I want to use a scrub but nothing too harsh. I definitely recommend giving this a go! I haven’t tried it as a mask to be honest, but it’s an amazing facial wash for sure.

  • Lush Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint.

This is my tube of Sugar Plum Fairy lip tint from last Christmas and it’s a lip product I randomly just started using again this month. I think with all the excitement of the Lush Creative Showcase and the Christmas goodies of 2017 being announced, it jogged my memory of this lip tint. It smells amazing, leaves a lovely magenta pink shade on my lips and moisturises at the same time! I’ll definitely be buying more Lush lip tints this year, including Black Rose for Halloween and Santa Baby for Christmas.

  • Paco Rabanne Lady Million EDP.

I’ve owned for a while and when I was first given it by my mom (it was originally a gift she had been given but didn’t like it, so gave it to me! :P) and at first I REALLY hated it, but after using it for a while I’ve grown to love it. The scent reminds me of Yankee Candle’s Fluffy Towels scent and I love it so much. I feel fresh and clean when I wear it and whilst ages ago I couldn’t wait to get rid of it, I now want to buy a new bottle as soon as it runs out. For ages it was my go to scent for work, which to be honest it was for the 2 weeks of September.

  • Mandarin Spa Amber Heaven Gentle Hand Wash.

My mom recently gave me this hand wash after noticing I was running low on hand wash in my bathroom. I had a back up ready to pop next to the sink, but how cute is that??? When I lived at home I would often use this hand wash if either me or my mom had bought any. I love the scent of this hand wash so much as it smells so posh! I can’t really describe how it smells to be honest… Sort of musky but a floral musk… If that makes sense? Even though I really like this hand wash at the moment, I do have a hate/love relationship with this stuff. Before now this hand wash has flared up my eczema and I don’t really know why. I has flared up slightly the past month BUT it hasn’t been as bad as it has been in the past.

  • Dove Pistachio and Magnolia Shower Foam.

Whilst I love this shower foam, I highly doubt I’ll be buying it again unless it’s on a special offer. I picked this up in Boots for £2.00 and even then I think this was expensive, FYI it’s usually £2.99. There are three different ones you can pick but I love pistachios so I had to pick this one. I have found that this softens my skin after use and will leave me smelling yummy for a while after use, but I just feel like you have to use loads of it to get a good lather going in a sponge or shower scrunch and that in itself is a con for me. This being said this was something new and fun to try and due to the scent I picked it’s also lovely to use as we go into the colder months. The pistachio has a lovely warming scent to it. As I said, when this is on offer again I’ll definitely pick one up!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story.

First of all, I know I don’t usually include 2 images when talking about my non beauty favourites, but I had to for this. I just want to get this out there that 1. I have a new favourite actor – Evan Peters and 2. The way he acted when playing Tate in season 1 of AHS was amazing and beautiful. I love the first gif I attached but the second one, oh my! Whenever he cried in that season I just wanted to cry with him. He’s one of those actors who nails crying scenes perfectly and those are some of my favourite to watch. Due to studying acting (as well as writing scripts) I love when an actor can be emotional and he’s just perfect at it (and may I add a perfect human being? :P).

ANYWAY… American Horror Story! Me and Dane have heard loads of good things about this, including from his own parents and we’re a little late onto the AHS wagon but it’s better to be late than never at all, eh? We are currently halfway through season 2 and we are loving it. I loved season 1 so much and his parents both said it’s their favourite to date! I have a feeling it’ll be mine too. If you don’t know much about AHS, every season pretty much has the same actors/actresses but each season has a different story behind it. BUT they’re all supernatural themed. They’re currently all on Netflix so I recommend going to watch it if you haven’t already. To be honest I’m really excited to see more of Evan Peters acting. He’s amazing. :’)

Favourite Film – The Girl On The Train.

This was recently on Amazon Prime to watch and I had heard SO MUCH about both the book when it came out, as well as the film. I wanted to watch it in the cinema but Dane wasn’t keen for it at the time. I’m glad I waited to watch it in the comfort of our own home but bloody hell, it’s good! I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare that to the film but even if you haven’t read the book like myself then I recommend you give it a watch. It definitely reminded me of Gone Girl, but in a different way.

Favourite Book – Erm…

Yeah I’m shit. I haven’t been reading anything AGAIN! To be honest I’ve been saving all my reading for my holiday. I do have shit loads of reading to catch up on though. I have all the K-ON! manga to catch up on, as well as many other manga books. I also have normal books to read and intend on taking 2 Bridget Jones books with me on holiday (as you’ve probably guessed I’m writing this JUST before I go on holiday…) as well as some manga, but we shall see. I’m sure I’ll do a post about what books I took at some point.

Favourite Song/Album – Porter Robinson & Madeon – Shelter and Rihanna – Te Amo.

These are both songs I discovered this month and ones I know I’ll continue to listen to loads, especially during and even after my holiday. Shelter was brought to my attention by Dane who mentioned that someone had used an anime in their music video. It’s an amazing song and the anime music video that accompanies it is lovely and sad all the same.

As well as that I also discovered this Rihanna song thanks to a beauty video on Instagram. I didn’t know of this songs existence, even though it’s been around for just over 7 years now. Bloody hell! I know my usual music genre tastes are in rock music as well as some electronic but I do have a soft spot for Rihanna. She just writes some catchy as fuck tracks and this is one.

Favourite Game – Life Is Strange: Before The Storm.

I completed this game in a day (including unlocking all the specials in each level of the episode) and I loved it, but at the same time I’m unsure what to think right now. I will elaborate without giving away any spoilers! This is a prequel to Life Is Strange where you play as Chloe, sadly she doesn’t have Max’s power but she has her own speciality. In this game you get to find out what happens with Rachel including how her and Chloe become friends and what happens before Max comes into the picture and Rachel goes missing. You get to be a little more rebellious with Chloe than you ever could be with Max and whilst I like this, I do find that both Chloe and Rachel are bratty. I’m not the only one who thought this either. THIS BEING SAID I can’t really say they’re acting bratty when Chloe’s dad recently died and Rachel has some stuff going on herself, which you find out about somewhat in the first episode. Overall it was really fun to play and I already can’t wait for episode 2 to come out soon! I bought the limited edition bundle so that I can get the bonus Max level, as well as all the episodes for Before The Storm.

So those are my favourites from the 2 weeks I was in the UK in September! It went by really quick and I already can’t believe I’m going away in just a couple of days (as I write this) and I’ll be back in 3 days when this post goes live on my blog (FYI hello future Nat! :P)

What were your favourites throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care! I hope you’re all well, I miss all my lovely readers! :’)

Models Own Haul

DSC_0004

Okay I know I’m meant to be on a spending ban, but I just couldn’t let this offer by Models Own pass me by!

At the moment Models Own have their 6 for £20 offer going on pretty much everything (well there are some things not on the offer…) and it was included on the Speckled Egg collection, which I’ve wanted since they announced it earlier this month. I calculated whether or not it would even save me money to just buy the 3 shades I wanted the most, but alas it wasn’t worth not taking up the offer and so, I went for it!

DSC_0006

The Speckled Egg collection were all popped into my shopping basket and I had the choice of one more product to pick up, seeing as there are only 5 polishes in the Speckled Egg collection.

There are five shades altogether, Dove (pink), Goose (yellow), Magpie (green), Duck (blue) and Swan (purple).

DSC_0007

So after seeing the polishes I also popped one of the Sticky Nails polishes into my shopping basket too. I opted for Sweet Candy as I thought it was the cutest of the bunch! The polish for this is shade Nude Beige and comes with lots of cute sweetie themed stickers! This was my favourite due to the fact you get some cute little gingerbread men on the sticker sheet, which I doubt I will ever use.

Upon ordering these I had the money to pay for them there and then but as I decided to pay with PayPal it enabled me the choice to pay for them two weeks after I ordered them. I love that PayPal does this, but I only thought they did it with eBay. So if you don’t have the cash straight away but will have it two weeks later, you can order away with no worries, which is awesome!

I ordered my polishes on the Friday after a long day at work and to my surprise they arrived on the following Wednesday morning. I wasn’t due at work until later that afternoon so I got to have a good stare at the polishes, but sadly due to my job I can’t wear polish for work… However I did paint my toes with these and they look gorgeous, so much so I can see me painting my toe nails with these for quite a long time now!

DSC_0003

I’m really quite pleased with how long these took to arrive as it didn’t even take a week and Models Own did state in my receipt via email that it might take longer than usual for my order to arrive, due to how popular the 6 for £20 offer was turning out to be. So well done Models Own, this was my first order from them and boy am I impressed! Not only did my order arrive quickly, but it also arrived in lovely packaging and it made a nice change. I can’t see me getting rid of the box it came in! xD

As I don’t work weekends, I FINALLY got my chance to try these out, after what felt like years to finally try! I didn’t paint my nails all too great (well not photo worthy on this post anyway… Well maybe just to show them off!) as my boyfriend and I were in a hurry to drive over to Coventry after I finished work. So anyway! I painted my nails with two coats of each shade but I think I could have done with three coats, so I think next time I wear these I’ll be trying it them all as three coats.

I have found one problem with the Speckled Egg polishes and that is not all the brushes are the same… I don’t know if I’m the only one who has noticed this, but it’s certainly affected/affecting the way I apply some of the polishes. The two shades that are having this issue are Swan and Duck.

So far my favourites are seeming to be Dove, Duck and Magpie.

FYI I WILL be reviewing the Speckled Egg polishes as they’re all gorgeous when applied to the nails. So keep your eyes peeled for those. 😉

I still haven’t tried the Sticky Fingers polish I ordered, but I shall be very soon as I really can’t wait to give it a go!

Have you taken part in Models Own 6 for £20 offer? If not do you intend to and if you did, what did you buy? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I’ll see you again soon!

Adventure Time With Animals, Part One! *WARNING PICTURE HEAVY THUS V. LONG POST*

Hello all! As I mentioned in my what I wore post  at the start of the week my boyfriend and I took a trip to a children’s farm for the afternoon.

We were meant to go on two occasions before this but the first time it was pouring with rain so we decided to stay in instead and the second time I had to go to work so it was cancelled.

Luckily though over the weekend we finally got to go and I can safely say it was worth the wait!

DSC_0016

DSC_0009

DSC_0008

We went to a children’s farm called Hoar Park, Nuneaton and got there just after lunchtime, which seemed a good time to go as it was still quiet but busy enough that we weren’t the only ones walking around.

As well as the farm being there, there is also a cafe, children’s play area, art gallery, ice cream, cake and sweet shop, antique shop and many more little shops like these.

DSC_0011

Before going into the farm we got ourselves some ice cream, my boyfriend decided to get chocolate and strawberry and I had coffee. The chocolate ice cream looked amazing and a part of me wishes I’d had a scoop of that as well, but I’ll save it until next time!

We had a look around a few of the shops and then decided it was time to go and see all the farm animals!

It only cost £2.50 each, which I thought was a great price for how many animals we got to see, plus you don’t get timed for how long you look around for, which I thought was even better! As well as that you could buy some food buckets for the birds, as well as the bigger animals (goats, pigs, deer) and these cost 50p each, so I bought one of each for my boyfriend. I would have had a go at feeding the animals too, but I’ve never been a huge fan of it myself, so I was happy enough taking photos and watching him feed the animals.

DSC_0017

DSC_0034

I have never in my life seen a black duck so when I saw one before we even paid to enter the farm, I was shouting, “It’s black! Why is it black?! I didn’t even know black ducks existed!” and I can honestly say I didn’t, but they’re now my favourite ducks! They’re more of a darkish brown-black with gorgeous feathers that turn from green, purple and blue shades in the right light, as you can see on my pictures. We also spotted some black ducklings, but they’re being saved until later in this post.

DSC_0030

DSC_0031

These three turkey’s were left to wander around amongst the visitors of the farm and I won’t lie, they freaked me out a tad. They seemed harmless enough and followed purely for food, but I like the scared child I am, I walked away from them as soon as I could and I was only brave enough to get close enough to them to take these three pictures.

DSC_0038

DSC_0036

Inside one of the chicken and duck pens they had a bird box for doves, which looks gorgeous and it was covered in doves and as we walked around the farm doves would be sat on different pens, every now and again flying away to go back to their bird box. I was lucky enough to get close enough to this dove to take a good picture of it. I really like this picture.

These were our favourite animals in the farm area, the little kids! Look how cute they are! Across from them were some adult goats, which of course were given our attention, but not as much as these little guys. They were adorable and kept running over to us for more food, as well as following us around their pen as we made our way to the other animals. We saw these last too before heading to some different animals (which we took most of our photographs of).

DSC_0059

This is Marlon the pig and boy did he like being fed! If you held the food above his head and dropped it he would open his mouth and gobble up all the food you dropped into his mouth for him. My boyfriend had told me before we left to head to the farm about Marlon, but I didn’t quite believe it until I witnessed it for myself. Look at that happy face on the third picture, it’s as if he was saying thank you for the grub!

DSC_0057

These two guys were next to Marlon, look there’s a ginger pig, like my boyfriend… He’s not a pig… Just ginger. 😉

DSC_0061

DSC_0066

This deer was really cute and with a shake of our food bucket it came wandering over for some treats. It was really friendly and docile which was really nice seeing as the kids and goats all fought each other for food.

DSC_0076

The goat on the left was a bit of a dick and wouldn’t leave us alone.
However, the ginger goat was head-butting the poor little black and white goat because he wanted our food.

DSC_0070

This goat was nice, he didn’t have much of our food.

DSC_0068

A mountain goat, at heart and thus the overlord of all the goats!

DSC_0074

LOOK, IT’S RAMDALF THE GREY!

DSC_0071

This is the poor little black and white goat that kept being bullied by all the bigger goats. We tried to make sure he was fed the most as he deserved it, even if the ginger goat kept head-butting this poor little guy away. We liked this goat, he should have been with the kids!

DSC_0079

DSC_0083

This was another deer, who was double the size of the previous one. It also only had three legs and it seemed tired whenever it moved about. Nonetheless it was quiet and somewhat shy, but still very friendly. We stood by this deer for ages and fed it whilst we watched some commotion going on with the farms Jack Russell catching a rat next to Ramdalf.

DSC_0094

DSC_0096

We weren’t supposed to feed the donkey’s, but we ended up feeding one of them… But we noticed a family did exactly the same thing we did. The donkey’s were cute and like all the other farm animals, quiet and friendly when we approached them.

DSC_0098

DSC_0100

Next to the donkey’s pen was this wooden archway and I quickly took a picture of my boyfriend stood at the top of it. It’ll look beautiful when it grows a little more and has some leaves on it. Also, you know the turkey’s I mentioned earlier? The ones who were left to wander around with the visitors? One of the turkey’s sat next to one of the pens where fellow turkey’s were kept. This looked really sad, so I thought I would take a picture of it. Turkey’s need to stick together!

Then we moved onto the smaller animals… Which you will have to stay tuned for as otherwise this post will be way too long and so full of cute that it needs its very own post!

It’ll be on tomorrow, so stay tuned for that, it’ll be worth the wait!

Until tomorrow, take care and see you soon.

July empties

DSC_0016Are we really into August already? Last week it felt like my 23rd birthday, me sitting at home being miserable and contemplating what I was going to be doing with my life this year.

I’ve used quite a lot of products up this  month, which is good as I want out with the old so that I can buy some lovely new things when I can afford them and such. There’s some usual bits on here that I’ve used up, some that I have come to love and will purchase again and one item that I hated and will never look at in store again, let alone buy!

DSC_0017

Apologies that this picture is blurry, it came out clear on my camera itself… :S

  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Face Spa.

This face mask isn’t like your normal masks, it’s a fabric facial sheet, which you gently place onto your skin and leave to do all the work. It creates less mess than a normal clay or peel off face mask and feels absolutely amazing! This one is said to help calm and cleanse your skin, and it really does. It contains dead sea sat and seaweed, which helps to smooth and re-hydrate your skin. I popped this onto my face and it felt so cool and relaxing, perfect for a hot summer day! I left this on for 15-20 minutes and before rinsing off massaged my skin with the excess of the face mask, as well as what was left on the outside of the mask itself. Then I splashed my face with some cold water and patted dry with a towel. I’ll definitely be purchasing this again, it’s amazing and for once a mask that didn’t irritate my skin in the slightest. Also this mask smells refreshing and amazing, definitely one to pack with you for a holiday that involves plenty of hot days.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Very Berry Face Mask.

Another wonderful face mask by Montagne Jeunesse, which I can safely say I will be re-purchasing in the future. This one (as you can tell from its name) contains blueberries and cranberries, which both moisturise and cleanse the skin. This mask was really thick and a gorgeous purple colour which was easy to apply to the skin. As well as that it smelt gorgeous and had shimmer running throughout, which I thought was a really nice touch. It came off easily with warm water (as I was sat in the bath) and after patting my face dry with a towel, my skin felt soft and looked radiant! This is the type of face mask that is necessary in the cold months and before nights out. I loved this mask so much!

  • Neal & Wolf Ritual Daily Cleansing Shampoo and Daily Conditioner For All Hair Types.

I received these samples at VintSetFest last week and I can safely say that they are amazing and I’m hooked! The smell of both the shampoo and conditioner is divine and I really can’t put my finger on what they smell like but it’s just amazing and right up my street when it comes to hair care products. The shampoo foams up wonderfully and you don’t need much product to do this either. The conditioner is exactly the same and has left my hair really soft and smooth. I’ll be buying the full size versions of these, especially as I have 15% off of my first order.

DSC_0018

  • Dove Supreme Fine Silk Beauty Cream Hand Wash.

I bought this wash after one of the staff in Superdrug saying it helped minimize her dry hand problems. It worked a little bit for me, but not as much as I’d hoped. This was a lovely hand wash though and smelt really grown up and expensive, even though it was only 99p! This hand wash was really creamy and soothing on my skin after a long day of shopping or traveling back from where my boyfriend lives. My only issue with this hand wash is that it doesn’t contain anything that kills bacteria like my usual Carex hand wash does, so I was constantly paranoid my hands weren’t clean, so I was using hand sanitizer afterwards. That’s just me being a germ freak though.

  • Carex Cola Bottles Hand Wash.

I’ve never loved a brand so much this year as I have with Carex. I know the scented flavours have been made to attract children and youngsters to wash their hands but I just can’t help but be attracted to them too! The smells so far have been amazing and as if they couldn’t get any better. Carex brought out a Cola Bottles flavour, which I loved so much. I can’t decide whether I like this or Strawberry Laces more… It smells just like the cola bottle sweets you get inside bags of Haribo and from your local corner shops, which is just heaven to myself. My boyfriend when he first started to come to my house commented many times how good this stuff smells. Since buying this I haven’t been able to find another bottle, but I’ll keep searching for it as I really want another bottle. As good as it smells, it also leaves my hands feeling soft and germ free, so overall this is a great thing to keep by your bathroom or kitchen sink, especially if you have children.

  • Head & Shoulders 2 in 1 Shampoo in Sensitive Scalp Care.

Time and time again I’ve mentioned Head& Shoulders, if you want to read about it, please check out this and this post.

DSC_0019

  • Possibility Orange Cupcake shower gel, shampoo & bubble bath.

I’ve had this since April and I can say I’m rather sad that it’s gone and the sooner I  pick up another bottle, the better! This stuff was amazing and even featured on a monthly favourites back in April. It smelt just like oranges and lemons, foamed up really well and made my skin feel clean and soft after use. After a while I started to use it for shaving, as it was really sensitive on my skin and helped my razor glide along easily, better than shave foam to be honest with you. I love Possibility’s products and I want to try more of their scented shower gels! I’m going to be keeping my eyes peeled for new ones to try.

  • Tango invigorating shower gel in Lemon.

This is by far the most disgusting shower gel I have EVER used and I couldn’t wait to see it in my bin at the end of July! I bought this thinking it would smell amazing, like lemon curd or at least like lemon Smirnoff Ice but it smells more like a lemon scented cleaning product and it’s a real shame. The apple flavour Tango is amazing, so I’m confused as to why this one couldn’t be the same. I’m going to try out the cherry and orange Tango ones and hope that I’m not disappointed by those too. Urgh so glad to see it in my bin, it’s disgusting, I don’t know why I didn’t smell this before purchasing it, but I’m never making that mistake again, lesson learnt!

  • Liz Earle Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash.

I’m really sad to see this finished as I loved how amazing this body wash was. Not only did it smell like orange blossom but it also left my skin so soft I wouldn’t need to worry about putting any moisturiser on my skin after showering. I wrote more about this product last month in my June favourites, so if you wish to know a bit more about it, please go and check that post. I can see me buying this again in future, but right now I’m in no hurry to re-purchase.

So that was my empties for July! I used up quite a lot this month, which I’m glad about as I want to try and use up as many products as possible to try and start afresh to buy and try some new products.

What did you use up this month? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care and see you soon.
