April Favourites ’22

I can’t quite believe it’s the end of another month already! I mean, one more day and…

Sorry, not sorry. πŸ˜› But yes, it’s going to be May tomorrow and I can’t quite believe we are a month away from being halfway through 2022.

Not going to lie, I’m a mixture of excited and nervous for May for a few reasons. It’s going to be nice to have another long bank holiday weekend this weekend, but in a couple of weeks I’ll be going to see My Chemical Romance! Regular readers and friends will know I have been waiting for two years to see them now due to Covid, so I’m glad the time is finally coming up! I printed off my tickets recently so I’m almost ready to go. I’m so excited, but sort of nervous too for many reasons. I haven’t been to a gig since 2017 when I saw cKy, which was a longgg time ago now! I’m also feeling anxious about Covid too. It would suck for both me and Dane to leave the gig with Covid… That being said, it’ll be worth it at this point as I’ve been waiting long enough to go and see MCR! I’m going to try and save up some monies towards merchandise, as I can see me buying a lot of it… Especially t-shirts and hoodies. πŸ˜›

Alongside going to see MCR, I’m also planning to go and visit Emily (link to blog) whilst we’re in Milton Keynes! We did try and meet up before/during the cKy gig but it didn’t happen sadly. I’m so excited to meet her! We’ve been blogging friends for as long as I can remember now (over six years I feel!) so it’ll be lovely to see her, and her furry companions too. Go and check her blog out by the way, I have linked it for you all. πŸ™‚

Alongside that, I don’t know what other plans me and Dane have for May, maybe plan something in for our anniversary in June, as well as planning/seeing friends too? We shall see!

One final thing I want to mention is how excited I am for this months content! I have some cute posts coming up in the next couple of weeks and I cannot wait to share them all with you. I know April was a bit of a quieter month but I was so busy over Easter, I didn’t really get much time for myself, let alone sitting down to write.

For now however, lets get on with this months favourites!

Favourite Beauty Product – Peripera – Ink Mood Drop Tint – Bubble Berry and Berry Vibe.

With my March pay I decided to treat myself to some new lip products from YesStyle. I really love wearing lipstick, but as the years have passed, I’ve worn it less and less. I used to live for my MAC satin lipsticks, then liquid lipsticks and now I’m more about my lip stains/tints and glosses. I’ve always found Korean brands lip tints are the best all rounder for lip products, they hydrate, leave gorgeous colour and are affordable. I’ve tried Peripera in the past and really do rate their products highly, so I decided to order myself a couple of lip tints from their ink mood drop range. Bubble Berry and Berry Vibe are both pink lip tints, one being darker than the other. Bubble Berry is described as, “cool berry pink” and Berry Vibe is described as, “bright berry plum”. Alongside the colours being gorgeous and wearable for any occasion, the product itself isn’t sticky, easy to apply and lasts for hours! It’s perfect and I’m so glad to finally have some pink lip tints in my collection.

Favourite Film – Jackass Forever.

As a massive Jackass fan, I have a lot to say about the latest movie. First of all, I have been a fan since I was ten years old in 2000. I adore all the TV show and the movies and if anything they got me through my dissertation for my BA studies at university, as well as some darker times. I’m also a fan of the cKy movies and Viva La Bam. With this being said, Ryan Dunn and Bam Margera not being part of the fourth movie broke my heart a little and I knew from the start that it wouldn’t feel like Jackass to me when I watched it. I finally saw the fourth instalment in April and I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. There were stunts that had clearly been done before by others and in my opinion, there were clearly stunts that had been written by Bam (I don’t know if anyone else thought this too?). The new cast were great, I have to say, they appeared to be up for anything (and judging by some of their tattoos, had been Jackass fans from a young age like me) and I feel like stunts they did now, were stunts that the Jackass crew back in the day wouldn’t have done. If you don’t know, this is Johnny Knoxville’s last Jackass film… Or so he says, so for his final film I just felt like it was lacking so much and that in itself made me sad. I’m intrigued to see if they do another TV show for the new cast, or another film. I feel like the films should have been left at three, after watching this one. Again, as I said, I didn’t love or hate it, but sadly I think Jackass should be done now, or at least just leave the new cast to do their own thing and retire the old? I don’t know. Let me know what you think! Please excuse the word vomit here by the way, I have so many thoughts about it haha.

Favourite TV Show/Anime – SPY x FAMILY.

With new season anime, comes a new anime show to share with you all! SPY x FAMILY is new for this season and is one me and Dane have been watching for the past couple of weeks since it began. I know this was a manga first of all and one quite a few people I know read and love. I wasn’t massively fussed about watching the anime when it was announced, but seeing as Dane put it on, I thought, “Why not!” and now I really enjoy it! As the name suggests, it’s about a spy family, but with a twist. I don’t want to say too much in case of spoilers, but Twilight, a spy, has to create a family in order to complete one of his missions. The girl he adopts has telepathy and the woman he marries is an assassin. Due to her telepathy the girl knows what her adoptive parents true lives are, but the parents don’t know each others. So far it’s a mixture of funny and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I adore all of the characters so far and Anya (the girl) reminds me of a diclonius from Elfen Lied due to her pink hair and the strange black hair bun covers she wears (which remind of the diclonius horns). I definitely recommend you checking it out and personally, I much prefer the sub to dub, it just works better.

Favourite Music – Saliva – Back Into Your System.

Over the Easter bank holiday me and Dane decided to deep clean our kitchen. It had been long overdue and with family coming over for Dane’s birthday and Easter, we decided to finally do it. During our time cleaning, we decided to put on nu metal from the early noughties, which is a genre of rock music that we both love. At one point Saliva came on and it reminded me of their third album Back Into Your System that I LOVED back in the day and listened to religiously. I remember exactly how I discovered it, through looking for clips fromΒ Elfen Lied the song “Weight Of The World” plays against the top of it, which I fell in love instantly. It’s still one of my favourite songs and I’ve honestly missed listening to this album.

Raft (video game) - Wikipedia

Image taken from Wikipedia

Favourite Game – Raft.

This is a game Dane bought for me a while ago so we could play together. Before and during Easter we played it quite a bit, as it’s a really nice, relaxing game to sit and play after a busy day of work. We’ve recently stopped playing it as much as we’ve found it’s getting a little repetitive, but I’m pretty sure we’ll pick it up again some day. The premise of the game is you need to survive and built your raft up. You do occasionally float by islands, which you can stop at to gather more resources, you pretty much live on your raft though. We didn’t realise at first, but there is a story to this game! Our understanding of this is that you play as siblings who need to find their family through radio messages and more. I don’t think we’ve done a lot with the story yet, the idea of the surviving is fun to us! I highly recommend this, but more so if you can play with friends, as it’s just a bunch easier!

Just a few of my favourite things…

Loungefly Cinnamoroll backpack.

To give you all a sneak peak of one of the posts coming up in May on my blog, I wanted to briefly share my latest Loungefly addition, and boy, do I love it! Easter I decided to finally pick up the Cinnamoroll Loungefly backpack, after debating it for months. I’ve been using it since it arrived last weekend and I really love it. It’s comfortable to wear, cute and fits everything quite nicely. It does kind of feel on the small side, but that’s probably because I carry around too much stuff. I think my only worry with this bag is the obvious one, it’s white, so I worry it’ll be stained and dirty easily. That being said, life is too short for regret. I wanted this bag for a while and now I finally have it, I’m going to use it! I snagged it for a bargain of Β£45 from Pop Figures. They’re Midlands based so this arrived in a couple of days after ordering. I’ll be talking about this bag on a blog post in the next couple of weeks!

Mini Egg nails.

As we all know, Easter was a couple of weeks ago and just before it I was due a new set of gel nails. I decided to go for Mini Egg inspired nails, as not only are they my favourite chocolate, but since 2019 (when I started getting gel manicures) I’ve always wanted to do these nails. So, FINALLY I’ve been able to do it! They’re getting redone this weekend and I’m feeling an emo theme, ready for when I go to see My Chemical Romance. I’m actually really sad to see these go, but I can always get them done again soon. πŸ˜€

Animal Crossing Timmy & Tommy amiibo.

On Dane’s birthday we decided to go out and do some geeky shopping and I FINALLY snagged the Timmy & Tommy amiibo figure I was after! This wasn’t cheap at Β£18, but a lot of places sell it for Β£20 and up, so I can’t complain too much. Plus Dane bought it for me as he knew how much I’ve wanted it. It’s such a cute figure and in amazing condition. I gave it a good clean when I came home and it’s now in place with all the other Animal Crossing amiibo figures. Now I only have Kicks left to get and potentially Smash Bros Isabelle. The shop I picked it up from is an independent vintage game shop in Birmingham called Vintage Gamer. If you’re in Birmingham like me, or fancy a day trip, I HIGHLY recommend! There’s so many vintage games and consoles, you could spend hours there. Plus the staff are really lovely to chat to, which is always good.

Pokemon Vulpix Flocked POP! vinyl.

This is a new addition to my very small POP! vinyl collection, but one I just couldn’t resist when I saw people talking about it on Instagram. I do love some of the Pokemon POP! vinyl figures as they look adorable, and Vulpix is always one I’ve had on my list to get as and when, so when I saw Smyths had the flocked version, I pre ordered and collected it later that day! It’s still sat in the box, as I’m unsure if I ever want to worry the flocking on it gets dusty/dirty and ruined! It’s such a cute little figure and I’m so glad I picked it up now. πŸ™‚

Lazy Oaf Rainbow Sally t-shirt dress.

Finally I want to share with you one of my recent finds on Vinted! The image isn’t mine, but it is from the listing I bought the dress off of, so it’s fine. πŸ˜› I haven’t yet taken a photo of the dress, nor worn it as I’ve been so busy, but I’m sure I’ll wear soon and post all about it! Anyway, this Lazy Oaf rainbow sally dress has been on my Lazy Oaf grail list for as long as I can remember. Every time I’ve found this dress for sale on second hand websites it would go for silly prices well over Β£60, and I just don’t have time for spending money that much on pre loved items, no matter what brand. So, when I saw this pop up on Vinted in my size for Β£25, I knew I had to snap it up! A couple of days later it arrived, was washed and is now waiting in my wardrobe to be worn! I’m so excited to wear it, it’s so comfy to wear and with some tights, and maybe my heart buckle belt, I’ll look adorable and ready for the summer!!!

So, there we have it guys, my favourites from April! I honestly can’t believe we’re already into May tomorrow, this month has flown and it’s been quiet nice to say the least, which I’m thankful for.

As we’re in another bank holiday weekend this weekend, what are you plans for it? Plus, what items are in your favourites list this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care and have a lovely weekend.

Coventry Bloggers Has A Website!

spring easter GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’ve all had an amazing bank holiday weekend so far. Me and Dane have been really lazy to be honest with you and spend most of the days relaxing together, playing games and eating the chocolate Mini Eggs and M&M Eggs we treated ourselves to.

I cooked my first Easter Sunday roast yesterday which went really well and Friday I went out with the Coventry Bloggers for a cocktail and networking event. I’ll be talking about this on my blog at some point this week. It was a fabulous evening and a great way to start the Easter bank holiday, so I can’t wait to share. πŸ™‚

Speaking of Coventry Bloggers, this post brings some exciting and amazing news! As the title hasn’t already given away, the Coventry Bloggers now have a website! WOOHOO! P.S. At the bottom of this post is the chance to win some goodies from Coventry Bloggers… πŸ˜›

When Emily (over at The Emily Chapters) mentioned to me that she was thinking about launching a website for Coventry Bloggers, as well as blog I supported her 100% with it! I thought it would be such a great idea for a place that people who want to view Coventry Bloggers outside of our Facebook group could do so.

It was when Emily asked myself and others if we wanted to be writers for the website that I began to get really excited for the project she was working on. Apart from my blog (and maybe the odd collaboration posts for other bloggers) I’ve never really written anywhere else. Well, I tell a lie! As a student I used to write posts for a newsletter I set up through a forum I was on for years, as well as for newsletters online and in paper form for my local area.

I wrote my first post a few weeks ago during a lunch break and loved the idea behind it. I’ll be writing monthly for Coventry Bloggers moving forward with the majority of my work on there being aimed and based around Coventry.

My first post is about 5 places I like to go to for food and drink when I’m in Coventry. I do love eating in Coventry as I find places aren’t only in close proximity within the town centre, but I’ve not found anything like it in Birmingham yet, in some aspects.

I’ll link the post here so you can go and read it for yourselves. πŸ™‚

Alongside myself there are 7 other writers for Coventry Bloggers, who I’ll share down below – alongside with their first posts for the website! You can also find out more about everyone here.

Emily –Β The Emily ChaptersThe newest addition to your Coventry focused reading list!

Kayleigh – Hazelnut MusingsMOD Pizza Opens In Coventry

Dawn – Life of a MidlanderJoining up with Coventry Bloggers

Ella – Ella MayburyA little intro to all things ELLA!

Regan – Dusky Blue SkiesWhy I love Igers Coventry & Warwickshire, and you should too!

Rose – Ruva – (To be added)

Gemma – Just Gem – (To be added)

So yeah there we have it! Coventry Bloggers now has a website, as well as a blog. If 2019 has taught me something so far it’s how much I love blogging, as well as what a great bunch of friends I’ve made through it.

If you’ve read through the post, you’ll know I mentioned that there was a competition being hosted by Coventry Bloggers! It’s over on Instagram and I’ve posted a photo of it down below so you can check it out, here if the link straight to the post on Instagram too. There was loads of amazing prizes to be won!

Coventry Bloggers make me so happy to be honest with you and even though all the events (and personal issues) burnt me out last month, they were totally worth it! Here’s to the Coventry Bloggers website and all the exciting things it has to bring for everyone. ^_^

Will you guys be going over to the website for a read of all the gorgeous girls and their blog posts there? Let me know in the comments. πŸ™‚

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re enjoying the last day of the Easter bank holiday! πŸ˜€

April Wish List ’18

Easter has come and gone and I hope you had an amazing Easter with your family and friends! Me and Dane had a lovely long weekend together, that was very much needed after he’s been away from work.

I cannot believe it’s now April and this month I’m hoping will FINALLY be the first time this year that we don’t have any bloody snow. I am officially ready for spring.

It’s also Dane’s birthday this month, so whilst I have my wish list post with plenty of goodies on, I need to pick up Dane’s birthday presents all the same.

Let’s not waste too much time, on with the wish list (which sadly isn’t anything special this month)!

  • Nintendo 3DS Style Boutique 3: Styling Star – (link)

I recently picked up a new 2DS for myself and oh man I love it! I can’t wait to talk about it on my blog soon to be honest with you. ANYWAY I noticed recently that Nintendo have brought out a new Style Boutique game and since the first one back in 2010, I’ve played all of them to date. I really want to get this one soon after recently playing the demo. They’re just so relaxing to play and not the hardest in the world either.

  • Β Official Nintendo 3DS XL Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth Travel Case – (link)

As I just mentioned above, with buying myself a new 2DS I need a new case to keep it in. I’m loving this limited edition Persona Q one and I REALLY want it! It’s not cheap though sadly and that puts me off sadly. 😦 I’m going to see how I feel when I’m paid. I’ve had a search around for one similar if not the same one at a cheaper price, but sadly I’ve had no luck.

  • Pokemon Center Original OTEIRE Please Memo stand clip Pikachu mini figure – (link)

This is something I was hoping to pick up around my birthday, but left it. I still want it to be honest with you. Now I’m feeling settled at work I would love to have a little picture of me and Dane on my desk. Not a normal one, but one of our commissioned pieces of us, specifically the one we had drawn at Hyper Japan. It’s our favourite and to look at it on a daily basis during my shift would cheer me up, even more so on a cute Pikachu picture stand.

  • Nichijou Manga Volume 5 and Volume 6 – (link) and (link)

As I’ve said previously, I always like to order at least one manga to read in the month. I don’t know if I will order any this month as I want to catch up on manga I currently own. I also plan to order Dane loads of manga for his birthday so… ANYWAY! I started reading Nichijou at the start of 2017 as I received some of the volumes for Christmas 2016. I also received some for Christmas/my birthday just gone and it’s time for me to continue reading it. I can’t just keep waiting for Christmas and birthdays to read it. πŸ˜› They’re not expensive really and there’s only 10 volumes at the moment so before I know it I’d have them all. We shall see though.

  • Nintendo 3DS Detective Pikachu – (link)

The final item on this months wish list is yet another 3DS game. I remember hearing about this coming out and was super excited, especially with recent news out about Ryan Reynolds voicing Detective Pikachu in the movie that is being made. SO when I heard the Pikachu’s voice in the trailer for the game… I was extremely disappointed and put off buying it. However, I keep seeing trailers on my Facebook as well as having a look at YouTube myself for videos of game play and I rather like the look of it… I can ignore the voice of Pikachu and how brash it sounds. I’ve wanted to play games like this for ages, so maybe this one can be a first insight into games like this, eh?

Well, those are all the items I have on my wish list. I couldn’t really think of what I wanted to add here this month as I need to be good to be honest. We shall see what happens, but I don’t think I’ll be buying myself lovely things, it’ll be Dane being spoilt in April!

What items are on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely time off for Easter!

Happy Easter!

Image taken from weheartit.com

I can’t for the life of me remember if I’ve ever written and wished my readers a happy Easter… Well no time for the present!

It’s late Easter Sunday now and me and Dane have had a really lazy day together. It was Dane’s birthday on Friday so we did contemplate doing a long weekend full of outings and nice things that he’d want to do for his birthday. Alas we didn’t really do that today.

As I did last year I baked Dane a birthday cake. Last year I made him a Deadpool cake and this year I decided to do an Easter nest cake to coincide with the Easter weekend. It turned out better than I planned and I loved making it. I’ve only had once slice so far, but I intend to polish off the last piece Tuesday on my day off of work.

Today consisted of playing retro games on my PlayStation 1 and 2, which was a lot of fun! Played some oldies such as Crazy Taxi, Tomb Raider and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

I sadly didn’t get a copy of the Easter egg Dane bought before he smashed it and ate some, but we got a picture of mine! I haven’t eaten it still… It looks so cute and too nice to eat. πŸ˜₯ I did however tuck into some Mini Eggs. Has to be done!

I also had myself a relaxing bath after starting out Easter Sunday dinner, which Dane finished off with a bit of assistance from myself.

For the first time ever I made my own roast potatoes and guess what? They turned out just as I hoped they would, if not better according to Dane! I’ve not made us a proper Sunday roast yet but I plan to give it a go very soon for my family. Me and Dane decided recently that for Christmas this year we’ll spend the day at home together and cook our Christmas dinner together. I know that’s a long way ahead to think of but it’ll be here again before we know it!

This Easter has been amazing and definitely one of my favourites. Not only was it Dane’s birthday, but we also spent a lovely long weekend together. We went for a birthday lunch with Dane’s parents, I baked his birthday cake, cooked our alternative Sunday dinner and we went to the Nature Centre in Birmingham together too and got to see the red pandas playing together.

It’s definitely been a weekend I’ve needed. The week after next we have a week off together to do fun things, as well as do some little finishing touches to the house. I honestly cannot wait.

Times like this remind me of how much I love Dane and just how much he means to me… Which is the world.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you have had a lovely day, and weekend as a matter of fact.

Have you done anything special? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I hope you enjoy the rest of the day.

March Wish List 17

I should really call this wish list the “Japanese and geeky shit” wish list as apart from the two 101 Dalmatians mugs that’s pretty much all it is!

I’m not going to lie I haven’t made this months picture for my wish list look all that great… It just looks so clumpy and I hate it. BUT I blame all the manga books I put into it. I mean come on there’s 7 volumes clumped together there! πŸ˜›

So I’ll just run with my wish list this month. I am still on my spending ban however and if I buy anything off of it it’ll be the manga as currently manga is quite a big percentage of my life right now.

  • Pokemon Center Easter Pikachu Plush (Sadly no link right now and prices vary)

This collection was announced not long ago and as soon as I saw this little cutie I just fell in love! I know it’s childish but I need her in my Pokemon collection so badly. I just love how it isn’t in your face Easter either. The cute little flower crown and kawaii eyes. You cannot go wrong! I don’t know how big this is though, but I would like to think it’s a decent size.

  • A Silent Voice manga Vol. 1-7Β  – Β£8.99 each (link)

This is a manga I discovered through looking at the adverts in the back of Your Lie in April manga books. It’s about a deaf girl who starts at a new school and is bullied by one boy in the class and his friends. She leaves and years lately he’s being bullied himself for what he did to her. He bumps into her and learns how to say sorry in sign language. From there they become close and I think it’s a whole love thing. I love manga like this and when I heard that it had been made into an anime movie it made me happy! It’s out this month and me and Dane are going to try and see it at the cinema. I’ve linked the trailer above.

  • Disney Store Disney Animators’ Collection 101 Dalmatians Mug – Β£8.99 (link)

I love Disney mugs and even though I don’t need anymore (nor do I have the room for them!) I would still love to get more of these. I just like being able to have a nice collection in my cupboard, especially considering most of my Disney mugs are 101 Dalmatians related. This one is really nice and it looks huge! I like how Pongo and Perdy are the main characters on the mug with sketches of their puppies around the rest of it. I’ll definitely be having a look at this mug when I go into a Disney Store next.

  • Sword Art Online Progressive manga Vol. 5 – Β£9.99 (link) (OUT 21/3/17)

Another manga and a volume I’ve been waiting to have come out for about a year now! It won’t be out until the end of the month but it’ll be worth the wait, especially as I’ll pre order it when I get paid next week. I love Sword Art Online and I especially love the Progressive manga, which focuses around Asuna instead of Kirito. I just hope they don’t wait another year for the next volume to come out…

  • Pokemon Center Easter Pikachu Phone Case (Sadly no link right now and prices vary)

This is probably the main thing I actually really want (besides from manga!) on my wish list this month! The Pokemon Center phone cases are amazing and very sturdy for what they are. Plus how cute does the Pikachu look on it? I mean COME ON?! The only issue I am having with it at the moment is the price… I’ve found that it’s been a tad pricey on places like eBay. We’re saying between Β£30-Β£50 which is of course a joke! I love my Redbubble Mew case that Dane bought me and that only cost about Β£20. We shall see what happens basically….

  • Disney Store 101 Dalmatians Glazed Mug – Β£9.99 (link)

Finally we come to another 101 Dalmatians mug and one I have mentioned before on my blog. This one isn’t as nice at the other in my opinion but of course I still want it for the same reasons as the other. I would want to buy myself one of these mugs and one for Dane so that we sort of match. But even so these mugs with the glaze on the bottom are really sturdy from when I’ve seen them in store beforehand. You can’t go wrong with a sturdy mug! πŸ˜›

So that’s my wish list for this month! As I mentioned before I am still on my spending ban and don’t really intend to buy anything I don’t need. I have been a little naughty on and off this past month but meh. I’m not as bad as I was before so it’s not going all too badly. πŸ˜›

What do you have on your wish list for this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely weekend.

Happy Easter!

Image taken from weheartit.com

Just a little post today to wish everyone a lovely Easter!

Don’t eat too much chocolate and make sure to have a yummy Sunday roast.

I’ve been spending Easter snuggled up with my boyfriend in bed whilst I do uni work. We bought ourselves some chocolate eggs to indulge in and boy have they been yummy! Think we’ve eaten too much though.

As well as that I’ve just been thinking about some exciting posts I want to write on my blog in the future.

I’m so pleased to have two weeks off of uni for Easter. It means I get to have a break, as well as get some of my assignments started.

But enough of me going on, here are some cute Easter related pictures for you to enjoy.

I hope everyone has a great day and I’ll see you again soon.

Things I Love About Spring

Image taken from weheartit.com

It’s been spring officially for a month now and I always forget how much I love it until it comes around late March.

Thanks to plenty of early shifts at work, weekends spent out and about with my boyfriend, as well as my curtains being able to stay open for longer due to lighter nights, I’ve began to notice loads of things I love about spring, which I thought I would share with you this evening.

ALSO I realise this post is very LATE coming up on my blog today, but I’ve been rather tired since finishing work this afternoon. However now I’m wearing my new onesie (which I will be posting about next week!), watching Goodnight Mister Tom, texting my boyfriend, and having a cup of tea I’m ready to get this post written and posted on my blog.

So I hope you enjoy it, I know I’m going to enjoy writing it!

The sound of rain, especially light and heavy rain.

I just HAD to include a picture from Bambi here! Something we have been seeing the past few days is rain, and plenty of it. We were told we were going to be getting some lovely weather for Easter and whilst it hasn’t been so bad it’s just a bit rotten at the moment, which is a bit of a shame. This being said, I do rather like the sound of rain, both light and heavy especially. I’m one of these people where if the weather isn’t too cold outside whilst it’s raining, I’ll open the window so that I can listen to it whilst I do whatever I need to. It’s just a relaxing sound and before now I’ve listened to those hour-long videos on YouTube of where you listen to sound effects whilst trying to sleep. Some of my favourite rain related ones are the sound of rain whilst in a car and in a tent. As well as how lovely it sounds, it’s good for all the new spring plants and flowers that are growing through beautifully!

Image taken from weheartit.com

Still being able to drink hot chocolate throughout the day (especially the evenings!) due to it still being chilly.

I love hot chocolate and as I work in a coffee shop, I have hot chocolate on tap, however I want it, whenever I want it. I don’t drink it every shift I work as that would take away the treat of having a hot chocolate in the first place, but when I do have one, it’s yummy! I especially love mint hot chocolate and honeycomb hot chocolate. I treated myself to a naughty mint hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, it was amazing!

Burning candles, although that is acceptable throughout the year.

I love candles, especially my Yankee Candles! I received a large Sweet Strawberry Yankee Candle at the start of the year for my birthday from my boyfriend and only since the start of this month have I been burning it. It’s lovely to pop on a candle and watch it burn into late into the night, there’s just something nicer about burning a candle in the spring, than there is in the winter and I don’t know why! My boyfriend shares my love for yummy candles, and he’s owned two apple scented ones since the start of the year, so whenever I go to his for the weekend he burns his yummy Apple candle by Lily Flame. Can’t go wrong with candles, no matter what season!

Cherry blossom trees.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always liked something about cherry blossom trees. I don’t know why but they’re just so beautiful and symbolise spring perfectly. Cherry blossoms only last until the end of spring, which is a real shame as they’re so gorgeous and add something bright and colourful to the season and especially to the UK. On my drive to and from work, as well as wherever I go really I drive/walk past loads of cherry blossom trees at the moment. Some are a light pink, some are a dark pink, but no matter what they’re all beautiful! My two apple trees sprout beautiful white blossoms every spring, which makes me happy and as we’re growing a cherry tree in the garden now, we’ll eventually have some gorgeous pink blossoms of our own. I intend to go out with my camera and get snap happy whilst the blossoms are around. Cherry blossom trees are my favourite trees!

Lighter, thus later evenings.

A year ago I would have thrived off of this due to being able to go to the pub any night of the week (especially the weekend) and due to it not getting dark until nearly 10pm I’d be able to sit outside in the beer garden with people getting drunk and laughing my head off… Although I still want to occasionally go out and enjoy the lighter evenings in a beer garden with my friends, I don’t wish to get drunk, just merry. As well as that this past year has taught me that there is more to life than going out every weekend to get drunk. I’m 24 now and I’m not getting any younger, I sound rather soppy but I’m getting to that time in my life where I would like to start settling down, getting what I want from life and making the most of it. Now instead of going out every weekend to get drunk, I spend it with my boyfriend, and sometimes even our friends where we’ll go out somewhere nice for the day and in the evening too. With the weather picking up a little and the later evenings, it means late walks and merry pub outings will be occurring. As well as all those things I love the view from my window from the late afternoon until it finally gets dark, it’s just gorgeous and I can’t really put into words how much I love it.

SO those were all the things I love about spring! Well, the ones worth mentioning anyway! As well as all those I also enjoy new baby animals being born, Easter, being able to wear my spring clothing, and finally the joys of pollen soon taking its toll on my nose, throat and eyes (I hate having hay fever)!

So, what do you love about spring? Let me know in the comments!

I’ve really enjoyed writing this post and sadly it is a day late, but better late than never eh?

Well I’m off to write some more blog posts up, I’ve got a long night ahead of me. πŸ˜‰

Until next time all, take care and hope you’re excited for the weekend!

Happy Easter!

Image taken from weheartit.com, but I know originally it’s from pusheen.com

This is just a quick post from me to wish all my readers a happy Easter, no matter where you’re from or how often you read my blog. ^_^

I’ve had a lovely relaxing day with my boyfriend, where we pretty much stayed in bed all day playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf all day, played with some Japanese DIY sweets we bought from Cybercandy yesterday, and ate cold leftover macaroni cheese that I cooked for us last night for lunch.

It’s not the traditional way to spend Easter with chocolate eggs and bunnies, crappy films on the TV with family and a huge roast dinner, but we like being different!

I do have a chocolate bunny in my fridge waiting to be devoured, but I’m waiting until I have a real chocolate craving… Which will probably be tomorrow after work.

Other than that I’ve had a lovely day and I wanted to wish everyone else a lovely day too.

I’ll be trying to write some posts for next week, I have some ideas I want to get written down and once again I apologise for being so quiet lately. It makes me sad that I don’t write as much as I used to. 😦

But let’s not get a downer started!

Now my boyfriend has gone home, I’m off to play more Animal Crossing: New Leaf, watch a movie and later on cook myself some noodles.

Until next time, take care and have a lovely Easter!
