Wish List Wednesday – Joanie Clothing

Oh man, I don’t feel like I’ve done a wish list Wednesday post for the longest time… *looks* Nope I haven’t done one since towards the end of November (which you can read here if you want to) which is probably due to have zero money… Not that I have free spending money now. 😛

Ages ago through a blogger I discovered Joanie Clothing and recently I’ve been looking into the brand again to buy myself some nice dresses for work. Over the weekend I ordered myself a couple and I AM EXCITED to get them! I’m just hoping they fit well for how much they cost to be honest. I’m kind of fed up of buying dresses off of the high street and not lasting very long.

I decided it would be a good time to do a with list Wednesday post and why not do it about Joanie Clothing?!

As with all my wish list Wednesday posts, I’ll talk about each item in enough detail as I’m happy with.

So, on with the wish list! 😀

• Martha Cat Print Dress (link)

I actually saw this dress second hand on eBay, which I wanted to pick up but sadly I didn’t get to it in time and missed out. Due to this I was going to pop it into my basket when I made my order as it’s currently on sale, but left it due to it being on eBay. This is a gorgeous blue dress with kitty faces all over. I especially love the collar, I’m always a sucker for stuff like this. This would for sure be lovely to wear for work, as well as in general for weekends out with Dane in the sunshine with a chunky cardigan over the top. My main worry with the dress is sizing on the bust area, I’ve seen some fellow bloggers review and post about this dress online and I’ve seen gaping across the bust area… BIG NO NO!

• Zooey Swan Collar Dress – Pink (link)

I’ve ordered one of the Zooey style dresses in the sale and honestly I am in love with the style of this dress! They have quite a few different colours, but I really love this peachy pink shade the most. It’s just very spring/summer looking and is definitely the sort of colour I need for my wardrobe! In all honestly though, I also love the blue version (which you can see here) and I think deep down I would feel more comfortable wearing this one. But who knows, we shall see! 😛

• Edith Scallop Stripe Tee – Yellow (link)

I’m always after some short sleeves t-shirts when it comes to work to wear with both skirts and trousers. This tee is so adorable and would go with my hounds tooth and checked trousers so well, especially throughout the spring, summer and autumn months. The only thing I don’t like about this tee is the price. It’s pretty expensive for what it is and in all honesty I could grab something similar if not the same for a much cheaper price on the high street.

• Martie Navy Stripe Shirt Dress – (link)

I’m partial to a nice striped dress and t-shirt every now and again and this dress would be great as an all year one to wear on weekends off and at work. I love the colours of it but I mostly like how the stripes are horizontal across the top part and vertical at the bottom. It makes a nice change from stripes just being in one direction… If that makes sense? 😛

• Clara Polka Dot Dress – (link)

Alongside stripes, I also love spotty dresses! This navy dress with white spots and peter pan collar is adorable and one that can be worn anytime of year! It also has pockets, which is what I like to hear when it comes to dresses! I’m a massive fan of peter pan style dresses, especially skater dresses too, which is what this is. It’d look adorable with a black or burgundy cardigan and some brown brogues in the summer.

• Gogo Blue Floral Dress – (link)

This is the last item on this wish list and one I’ve ummed and ahhed about for a while as to whether to add to this list or not. I just had to thought. It’s such a 70’s inspired dress and I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about that time that I love and wish I could go back in time to enjoy. I especially love the fashion styles and prints from then and this dress just shouts 70’s summers in the UK and discotheques! This dress seems to nice to wear in general, but I’d totally rock it whenever possible. The print just looks so cheerful and uplifting. The perfect dress for a Monday morning when you need a pick me up, or a Friday shift before the weekend strikes!

So that was my wish list Wednesday about Joanie Clothing! As I write this I am incredibly gutted that I missed my parcel with my Joanie Clothing goodies in. I’ll now have to wait until tomorrow morning to pick said parcel up on my way to work and try them on when I get home. MEH!

I’m hoping the two dresses I bought are okay… I plan to write a post about what I bought, as well as a review of the company themselves!

March Wish List ’18

Another month has come and gone and yes, I know February is a short month anyway BUT BLOODY HELL! I can’t believe it is March! I’m excited though for spring this year, which I’ll be writing a blog post about VERY soon! 😀

This months wish list was very hard to write as at the moment there isn’t really anything I’m wanting for. I’ve made a naughty purchase this month already, which I’m hoping to also write a blog post about soon!

• Honey Punch Oversized Cardigan In Rainbow Stripe – (link)

If any regular readers have been watching my blog since before Christmas you’ll have seen that I was lusting after a duplicate cardigan of the rainbow one from Lazy Oaf. When Lazy Oaf brought out their version it went crazy online and sold out super quick. I was gutted I never got the chance to even contemplate buying one, but for £75 HELL TO THE NO. I then went out looking for fakes from China… Which I don’t really want either. On a random search on ASOS I found this awesome one by Honey Punch! It’s distressed on the bottom and oversized. I actually prefer this one to the Lazy Oaf one and it’s half of the price! Sadly it’s currently sold out in the size I am/want so I’ll be waiting for it to come back in stock and as soon as it does, I’ll be ordering! Since starting my office job I LIVE in cardigans now and I’d love to rock a rainbow one to work.

• Pandora You and Me Ring – (link)

This ring came out as part of the Valentine’s Day collection, which is around the time I noticed it on the website. It’s so gorgeous but at first it did make me wonder if it was an engagement ring… It’s not. 😛 I really, REALLY want this ring but I’m trying to save money right now and just buy things that don’t cost much or things I REALLY want. If that makes sense… Either way I was tempted to pick this up this month as a treat to myself but I’m going to wait. Mine and Dane’s 5th anniversary will be here before I know it and I know he wants to get me a piece of jewellery in the future so we shall see what happens.

• New Look Tall Red Ditsy Floral Soft Touch Skater Dress – (link)

Okay I probably don’t class as being “tall” (I’m 5’5 so I’m “average”) but I’m finding lately when I buy dresses they can come up short, which is frustrating! I want to start buying tall skirts and dresses if possible and of course if they look good. I would love some new dresses for work as although I’m loving what I have right now, I do want some fresh pieces for the spring and summer months. I love wearing red and this looks gorgeous for the money! I may not get it this month but I’ll keep my eyes peeled on it for the future.

• Orange: The Complete Collection: 1 Manga (link)

I love manga so every month whenever a new volume comes out of a series I’m reading, I’ll order! But this month I want to pick up something new to read, Orange being one of them! I’ve heard nothing but good things about both the anime and the manga. I would buy both collection 1 and 2 but I want to try and keep being good, so I’ll only order this one for now and get the next one next month.

• New Look Black Crepe Scuba Pinafore Dress – (link)

Again, another dress for work. I’m really into pinafore dresses at the moment but I haven’t really had a good look for anything right now! I really want one for work to team up with my long sleeved striped t-shirts! I love the look of this one from New Look as it looks so comfortable. I’d team it up with tights and a nice pair of flats for a chilled look. I wouldn’t say no to a thick chunky cardigan too when days are a little on the chilly side!

• Sass & Belle Lima Llama Trinket Dish (link)

I really NEED a trinket dish for my jewellery at the moment as now I’m wearing it daily it just pretty much sits on my dressing table, which isn’t the nicest way to treat Pandora and Thomas Sabo now, is it? I had my eye on a Pusheen trinket dish last month and recently spied a cute bunny one from Asda, BUT llamas are kind of doing it for me right now… When me and Dane got the house we went out and bought little bits and pieces for the house, one of these being a llama planter. Nearly 2 years later and I STILL haven’t put anything in it. Instead it sits empty of my bedroom shelf. Last month I picked us up a new washing basket, which has llamas all over it! So why not add to this obvious llama themed for upstairs by getting a trinket dish? I just want something to keep my bracelets, necklace and ring on really.

So those are all the items on my wish list this month! I could have included more manga but I’ve already ordered it/plan to now I’m paid!

Swing & Smock Dresses Wish List

I won’t lie, I used to HATE swing and smock dresses when they first hit the shops. I thought they looked unshapely and caused anyone who wore them to look pregnant. However after seeing a couple of fashion bloggers posting about them I came to realise that maybe they weren’t all that bad and in some ways they were actually flattering.

For my 24th birthday (at the start of this month) my Mom asked if I would like any clothes for my birthday and I had a look at what was out there. I ended up ordering a pair of boyfriend jeans, some new DC trainers and a Fearne Cotton swing dress. I worried that upon trying it on when it arrived that it would make me look bigger than I actually am… Or as if I was carrying a small person inside my belly but instead it was rather flattering and both my Mom and my boyfriend said how lovely it looked.

Since then I have been HOOKED and have my eye on a lot of these dresses now to buy myself as a treat or even when my spending ban in over as I hope they will all be in sales by then!

So I thought I would share with you the dresses I’ve spotted!

There are five dresses in total that I’ll be talking about and each is different in all sorts of ways. I’ll be going from left to right, starting on the top row and then going onto the bottom row. I’ll be linking to each dress anyhoo so if you get confused on which dress I’m talking about, just click on the link!

• Boohoo Ella Tartan Collar Smock Dress – £18.00.

I love tartan, no matter what time of year and as I usually go for the standard red, it’s nice to mix it up a bit with some blue and green in there. This one has some blue and red going on, which I really like! It’s a long-sleeved smock dress with a cute black collar around the neck. This would be lovely to wear during the day if I’m going out somewhere nice and then onto the evening if I was out for a meal or at the pub with my boyfriend and/or with some friends. I think this would even work well during the summer as it doesn’t look like a thick dress, so I’d make sure to wear this with some thick tights, a wooly cardigan (hell, maybe even a jumper!) and my chelsea boots. £18.00 for this is a real bargain and that’s why I love Boohoo so much!

• ASOS Smock Dress With Cute Fox – £28.00.

This out of all the dresses on this list is the most expensive one, but it’s also damn cute! As you’ll know if you’re a regular reader of my blog, I LOVE foxes, so much so of late that I’m tempted to get one tattooed on my body… But I’m going off topic! Every now and again I shall search my favourite (*cough* all) clothing shops for fox related garments and I usually find one thing that I like the look of. I’ve seen a few things on ASOS that I like the look of in regards to foxes, but this one is the most affordable. It’s a nice dark olive-green shade with cute little foxes all over it, so cute! This would look so nice for the autumn and winter with my brown houndstooth coat, some thick tights, possible a grey cardigan and some chelsea boots, or maybe a pair of flats. This isn’t the highest on my wish list, but that’s due to the price, as I’m trying to save money! 😛

• Matalan Floral Print Long Sleeve Swing Dress – £12.00.

I rarely look in or online Matalan for clothes as it’s not that I dislike them, but I often forget they exist, only remembering when someone tells me how they’ve gone there recently for some clothes. Then I’m usually told how they grab bargains and how Matalan are better than Primark for the same prices. So I thought I’d have a mooch on their website and one of the first things I spotted, I knew I had to have! It’s a gorgeous black swing dress with pink and purple floral print. This will be perfect for when spring is back upon us again and I’d be wearing it with a grey cardigan, thick tights and my good ol’ chelsea boots! As this is a jersey fabric it’d be nice and warm so I could even wear this throughout the rest of winter whilst the weathers a bit nippy! I’d wear this dress for all sorts of occasions, both day and in the evenings. I’m really loving long-sleeved dresses at the moment and this one right now is number one on my wish list. I know I’m on a spending ban but after I’ve finished writing this post I’m actually popping over to Matalan to possibly pick this up… I’m naughty, I know but come on, it’s only £12!!!

• New Look Cameo Rose Red Tartan Check Swing Dress – £17.99.

I have to add with this dress that I wouldn’t wear it the way it is shown on the picture. It’s WAY TOO COLD to wear this with nothing underneath so I would ensure to pop a white or black long-sleeved t-shirt underneath this to give it a more grunge/punk look to it. As it looks quite short on the model on New Look’s website, I’d probably wear this with some shorts underneath to keep my dignity but of course if this wasn’t too short I would wear it with some nice thick leggings and some flats. I’d keep it nice and simple! I’d probably wear this loads during the summer time, as if it got too warm I could just take the t-shirt from underneath off. This is at the bottom of my wish list to be fair, as I’m not a huge fan of it but I like the idea of wearing it with a t-shirt underneath, as that look is rather cute, if I do say so myself.

• Boohoo Lily Daisy Collar Smock Dress – £15.00.

This dress is number 2 on my wish list and I’ve been so tempted to order it this weekend, as Boohoo currently have 20% off all their dresses until tomorrow! This dress just reminds me of when I was little and the style of dress my Mom would have dressed me up in for parties and such. I probably did own a dress like this as a toddler and if I ever find I have a little girl, I want to put her in a dress like this! It has a gorgeous daisy pattern on it, making it the perfect floral dress and it’s finished off with a gorgeous black collar around the neck. This dress would be beautiful with a jumper thrown over the top of it and it would keep you toasty and warm during the rest of the winter month. This is a dress you can wear all year-long and I’m probably going to end up ordering it whilst I can save some pennies! I’d wear this to death with some thick tights, my chelsea boots, a jumper and my red duffle coat.

So those were my choices for my shift and smock dress wish list!

What I wore (13th July 2013)

I can’t believe it’s been nearly 4 months since my last what I wore post, it’s been ages hasn’t it? However, as regular readers will know I’ve been going through a rough patch since March, so the last of what I wore posts was to be expected.

But I’m back and I have someone else who can take my pictures now, my partner. He did an awesome job and I’m really pleased with how the pictures turned out!

On the hottest day of the year (so far anyway) we decided to go out into the countryside for a drive and a walk around. We didn’t have a clue to go and just went left or right at junctions, hoping to get ourselves somewhere random. We ended up in Leamington Spa and went to a lovely park there. We walked around for ages, even went through dark woods, stinging nettles and some nats to get to where we wanted to explore.

It was a lovely day and I’m excited at the aspect of doing it again, my partner is awesome when it comes to adventures.

I love this dress so much, I spoke about it briefly in this post after my Mom buying it me whilst we were out shopping. It’s light, looks cute for spring and summer and will compliment any figure, it also makes your bum and boobs look a little bigger than they actually are and your tummy smaller than it actually is. I couldn’t wait to wear this out, the first time was for my aunts birthday and second time for our little adventure.

I teamed this look up with my spiked flats, I love spikes and no matter what season it is, I’ll be wearing them. They were perfect walking shoes and looked great with the outfit, showed I’m not just dainty and innocent in my floral pink dress!

I bought my clutch bag on Wednesday and have been using it all weekend. I love this bag so much! I remember at the start of the year when fashion bloggers were going crazy for them and I was one of them. I scoured the internet for hours trying to find one but the only place I had luck with was eBay, but because everyone wanted one like myself they were mostly sold out, only coming in a clear black. Who wants clear black, I mean why does that even exist!? I’d spied the clear and see through pink clutches in New Look for a while now and thought, why not? For £9.99 it’s been worth every penny and a bag I know I’ll use throughout the summer for nights out, hell maybe even winter too!

Finally you can’t go wrong with a pair of Ray Bans. Every year like every garment and accessory you wear, sunglasses change to suit the trend of the season but Ray Bans NEVER go out of style! I’ve owned my Wayfarers just over a year now and I love them, they’ll look great year after year and because of this they were worth every penny I paid for them. If you have thought about getting a pair of Ray Bans whether they be Wayfarers, Aviators or Clubmasters, then I say go for it if you have the money because they’ll look amazing!

I really like what I wore out over the weekend and I know I would wear it out again!

Yesterday was so much fun, I haven’t been out like that for months so it was nice to get out and have a relaxing drive, walk and just to talk and relax and I couldn’t have chosen a better person to have done that with. 🙂

I’m just excited for more days out like this in the future! 😀

During out walk we stumbled across a little kids playground. The tire swing was broken, much to my distraught as I love tire swings! However we did find some weird sort of swing contraption that we both had a play on. It was really weird and if I had of been wearing jeans or a pair of shorts with my skate shoes, I’d have been more inclined to have stood up on it like my partner did. However as you can see I just sat on it, trying to look as ladylike as possible.

I’d love to go back to this park we visited, it was so beautiful and will be an amazing place to visit during the autumn season when everything is orange and red, oh beautiful!

My summer outfits

When the sun comes out in the UK, the clothes come off for us Brits and we get our pasty white bits out on show for everyone to see. I can occasionally be one of these people, depends how hot it is and what I’m doing. But because of all this lovely weather I’ve bought a few new crop tops and my cute skirts and shorts out of my wardrobe to start wearing out and I thought I’d show my few outfit ideas with you guys.

I intend to wear these over the weekend (when this post will be live!) but you watch, the weather will be crappy and raining… Just you see!

Play suit by Red Herring from Debenhams. I can’t remember the price, I bought this back in 2010/2011.

I’ve had this play suit a while and it’s something I always bring out in the summer and for nights out as it’s really summery and cute with its red background and white and navy floral print. It’s not super thin but thin enough to wear during the summer time with a pair of tights and a cute denim jacket/shirt. It came with an awesome red belt which really makes your waist look smaller than it is, awesome for someone with bigger love handles than most girls my size. The straps on this dress have cute little heart-shaped buttons too, which just make this even cuter than need be. This play suit just reminds me of a dress I had when I was a little girl and thus makes me smile and think of old memories. Great worn with a cute pair of flats too, only dainty shoes allowed.

American Flag hot pant denim shorts from Topshop can’t remember the price as I bought them in 2011/2012.

Okay I realise how hipster and 90’s this outfit looks but you know what? I don’t care! I’ve loved this look before the term hipster was even created for anyone who wore things like this so shh! I bought this crop top from Primark on Wednesday as I’ve wanted a Coca-Cola t-shirt for quite a while now and as we’ve had such great weather recently I didn’t think it would hurt to pick this up for £6.00. This will look great during the daytime whether I’m out shopping, in the countryside, at the park, etc. As long as there is sunshine, this look will look awesome! With some creepers for both day and evening and especially tights for evening this outfit will be great, especially for holidays!

Wow lot’s of pieces from Primark! Probably because I’m pretty skint right now and I’m only after some summer essentials, I usually pay heavy prices for autumn and winter items due to liking these seasons more than spring and summer.

With the first outfit (mint crop top and skirt) I bought them together as I think cream and mint look really nice together, especially in spring. I was wanting to find a nice mint jumper to wear with this skirt but with no luck, the crop top did a pretty good job. This is the sort of thing you could wear on a dinner date with some patterned tights and a cute pair of flats or low heels and a light denim jacket to keep you warm. Definitely something I would wear on holiday on the beach, no tights or jacket required of course! I’m definitely going to wear this skirt at some point over the weekend.

For the second outfit it’s a little more grunge than cute and with that I would need to wear my creepers and some tights with it, probably plain and I’d wear this from day-to-night. This pug crop top is so cute isn’t it? I saw it on Zoella’s Primark haul video on her YouTube channel and thought it was super cute and would be nice to team up with denim shorts and jeans for summer, as well as winter on nights out. So for a fiver I thought, why not! I can team this up with so much, this skirt being one of them! I would wear my spiked pleather biker jacket and my creepers with this, maybe a denim shirt if the jacket was a bit too warm or heavy. I might wear this look on Sunday night for a gig I’m going to.

AND I know most girls feel too shy or embarrassed about wearing crop tops due to their tummy and trust me, I’m one of those girls. I do have a solution for those of you who do feel this way though. Make sure to get a skirt, shorts or jeans that are high-waisted because you can cover the part of your tummy you don’t feel too confident with and you’ll have your gorgeous waist to show off and your tummy will look as flat as you wish it to. The thing is with your tummy, it’s not meant to be flat, it’s meant to have a bit of a bump to it, where do you think all your organs go, eh?

I hope this post was a good read, I know I had a lot of fun picking out outfits to team together to show you guys, it’s also helped me decide on what I’m going to take with me to wear on Friday and Saturday whilst I’m at my partners and Sunday and Monday whilst he’s at mine.

I just hope the weather stays nice, otherwise I’ll have my plan B outfits on standby!
