September Favourites ’17

I’m currently on holiday when this post will go live on my blog and although I’ve only really been in the UK for just over 2 weeks for the month of September, I can still write what products I loved throughout that time… Right? 😛

I do apologise for poor image quality… I took this the night before we left and was rushing to get so much done. 😦

  • Garnier PureActive Intensive 3in1 Charcoal Anti-Blackhead.

This is a product I bought on a whim. I love any facial cleansing products that contain charcoal, as it’s great for oily skin and can really help pull any crap out of your pores. As the title suggests this is a 3in1 product which means you can use it as a facial wash, scrub and as a mask. This isn’t the BEST product in the world but it’s done some wonders for my skin so far! It’s not as scrubby as I was hoping it would be, but my skin has been having some sensitive days recently so this has really helped when I want to use a scrub but nothing too harsh. I definitely recommend giving this a go! I haven’t tried it as a mask to be honest, but it’s an amazing facial wash for sure.

  • Lush Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint.

This is my tube of Sugar Plum Fairy lip tint from last Christmas and it’s a lip product I randomly just started using again this month. I think with all the excitement of the Lush Creative Showcase and the Christmas goodies of 2017 being announced, it jogged my memory of this lip tint. It smells amazing, leaves a lovely magenta pink shade on my lips and moisturises at the same time! I’ll definitely be buying more Lush lip tints this year, including Black Rose for Halloween and Santa Baby for Christmas.

  • Paco Rabanne Lady Million EDP.

I’ve owned for a while and when I was first given it by my mom (it was originally a gift she had been given but didn’t like it, so gave it to me! :P) and at first I REALLY hated it, but after using it for a while I’ve grown to love it. The scent reminds me of Yankee Candle’s Fluffy Towels scent and I love it so much. I feel fresh and clean when I wear it and whilst ages ago I couldn’t wait to get rid of it, I now want to buy a new bottle as soon as it runs out. For ages it was my go to scent for work, which to be honest it was for the 2 weeks of September.

  • Mandarin Spa Amber Heaven Gentle Hand Wash.

My mom recently gave me this hand wash after noticing I was running low on hand wash in my bathroom. I had a back up ready to pop next to the sink, but how cute is that??? When I lived at home I would often use this hand wash if either me or my mom had bought any. I love the scent of this hand wash so much as it smells so posh! I can’t really describe how it smells to be honest… Sort of musky but a floral musk… If that makes sense? Even though I really like this hand wash at the moment, I do have a hate/love relationship with this stuff. Before now this hand wash has flared up my eczema and I don’t really know why. I has flared up slightly the past month BUT it hasn’t been as bad as it has been in the past.

  • Dove Pistachio and Magnolia Shower Foam.

Whilst I love this shower foam, I highly doubt I’ll be buying it again unless it’s on a special offer. I picked this up in Boots for £2.00 and even then I think this was expensive, FYI it’s usually £2.99. There are three different ones you can pick but I love pistachios so I had to pick this one. I have found that this softens my skin after use and will leave me smelling yummy for a while after use, but I just feel like you have to use loads of it to get a good lather going in a sponge or shower scrunch and that in itself is a con for me. This being said this was something new and fun to try and due to the scent I picked it’s also lovely to use as we go into the colder months. The pistachio has a lovely warming scent to it. As I said, when this is on offer again I’ll definitely pick one up!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story.

First of all, I know I don’t usually include 2 images when talking about my non beauty favourites, but I had to for this. I just want to get this out there that 1. I have a new favourite actor – Evan Peters and 2. The way he acted when playing Tate in season 1 of AHS was amazing and beautiful. I love the first gif I attached but the second one, oh my! Whenever he cried in that season I just wanted to cry with him. He’s one of those actors who nails crying scenes perfectly and those are some of my favourite to watch. Due to studying acting (as well as writing scripts) I love when an actor can be emotional and he’s just perfect at it (and may I add a perfect human being? :P).

ANYWAY… American Horror Story! Me and Dane have heard loads of good things about this, including from his own parents and we’re a little late onto the AHS wagon but it’s better to be late than never at all, eh? We are currently halfway through season 2 and we are loving it. I loved season 1 so much and his parents both said it’s their favourite to date! I have a feeling it’ll be mine too. If you don’t know much about AHS, every season pretty much has the same actors/actresses but each season has a different story behind it. BUT they’re all supernatural themed. They’re currently all on Netflix so I recommend going to watch it if you haven’t already. To be honest I’m really excited to see more of Evan Peters acting. He’s amazing. :’)

Favourite Film – The Girl On The Train.

This was recently on Amazon Prime to watch and I had heard SO MUCH about both the book when it came out, as well as the film. I wanted to watch it in the cinema but Dane wasn’t keen for it at the time. I’m glad I waited to watch it in the comfort of our own home but bloody hell, it’s good! I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare that to the film but even if you haven’t read the book like myself then I recommend you give it a watch. It definitely reminded me of Gone Girl, but in a different way.

Favourite Book – Erm…

Yeah I’m shit. I haven’t been reading anything AGAIN! To be honest I’ve been saving all my reading for my holiday. I do have shit loads of reading to catch up on though. I have all the K-ON! manga to catch up on, as well as many other manga books. I also have normal books to read and intend on taking 2 Bridget Jones books with me on holiday (as you’ve probably guessed I’m writing this JUST before I go on holiday…) as well as some manga, but we shall see. I’m sure I’ll do a post about what books I took at some point.

Favourite Song/Album – Porter Robinson & Madeon – Shelter and Rihanna – Te Amo.

These are both songs I discovered this month and ones I know I’ll continue to listen to loads, especially during and even after my holiday. Shelter was brought to my attention by Dane who mentioned that someone had used an anime in their music video. It’s an amazing song and the anime music video that accompanies it is lovely and sad all the same.

As well as that I also discovered this Rihanna song thanks to a beauty video on Instagram. I didn’t know of this songs existence, even though it’s been around for just over 7 years now. Bloody hell! I know my usual music genre tastes are in rock music as well as some electronic but I do have a soft spot for Rihanna. She just writes some catchy as fuck tracks and this is one.

Favourite Game – Life Is Strange: Before The Storm.

I completed this game in a day (including unlocking all the specials in each level of the episode) and I loved it, but at the same time I’m unsure what to think right now. I will elaborate without giving away any spoilers! This is a prequel to Life Is Strange where you play as Chloe, sadly she doesn’t have Max’s power but she has her own speciality. In this game you get to find out what happens with Rachel including how her and Chloe become friends and what happens before Max comes into the picture and Rachel goes missing. You get to be a little more rebellious with Chloe than you ever could be with Max and whilst I like this, I do find that both Chloe and Rachel are bratty. I’m not the only one who thought this either. THIS BEING SAID I can’t really say they’re acting bratty when Chloe’s dad recently died and Rachel has some stuff going on herself, which you find out about somewhat in the first episode. Overall it was really fun to play and I already can’t wait for episode 2 to come out soon! I bought the limited edition bundle so that I can get the bonus Max level, as well as all the episodes for Before The Storm.

So those are my favourites from the 2 weeks I was in the UK in September! It went by really quick and I already can’t believe I’m going away in just a couple of days (as I write this) and I’ll be back in 3 days when this post goes live on my blog (FYI hello future Nat! :P)

What were your favourites throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care! I hope you’re all well, I miss all my lovely readers! :’)

November ’16 Favourites

Woohoo it’s now December and we are so close to Christmas. Honestly it’s going to be here before we know it. Then it’ll be New Year and then my birthday. JEEZ I’M GETTING OLD!!! But either way I am back on my blog after being absent for well over a week! I’ve either been too busy with life or too tired from it to do any writing for my blog. It would seem that when you move out life gets nothing but busy!

Well anytime is better than no time, so here is one of my last favourites posts of the year!

  • Australian Bodycare Skin Wash

I’ve loved using this shower gel for as long as I can remember and it’s one I go back to time and time again. It’s one that I often use if my skin has broken out badly, or if I’m feeling under the weather and need a pick up. Lately though I have had a horrible allergic reaction on my thighs and tea tree seems to be the only thing helping it (as well as Sudocrem). I always forget about how much I love this and I really want to try and pick up more of Australian Bodycare’s products next year.

  • Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Bauhau5

I bought this last month and it has fast turned into one of my favourite liquid lipsticks! It’s just so damn comfortable to wear and it looks beautiful. I’ve wanted it for years so it was definitely worth the wait to pick up whilst I was in London. I’ll be writing a full review of it soon but it’s definitely the liquid lipstick I’ll be wearing throughout Christmas.

  • Blistex Triple Butters Lip Balm

Due to the cold my lips have really taken a beating and even at the moment they’re really sore and split various times. This is either from just neglecting to pop any lip balm on my lips for one part of the day, or due to wearing liquid lipsticks. SO I’ve been in the need of a rich and caring lip balm. I used to use Blistex a lot when I was younger and it did a great job, so I decided to pick some up recently. Boots had a 2 for £3.00 offer on all their Blistex range so I picked up an intense balm and this Triples Bitters lip balm. This smells amazing and it reminds me of white chocolate and strawberries. I LOVE it so much! I use it around the house when my lips feel dry but I may start using it for work too.

  • Garnier Skin Moisture Match Wake Me Up

Not only have my lips been super dry but so has the skin on my face. I find when I put my translucent powder on top of late that it would be showing up all the dry patches on my cheeks which was just off putting of course. So I dug through my beauty drawer and brought out this moisturiser. I’m so glad I did as it really did help to banish those dry patches on my cheeks which I was so pleased about. Recently I have gone back to my Clinique moisturiser which is my God send so now this will go back into my beauty drawer.

  • Bath & Body Works Cherry Blossom Body Spray

This is one of the many Bath & Body Works products that my friend Sophi brought back for me from her trip to America! She was very thoughtful and picked me up a couple of Cherry Blossom scented miniatures, including this body spray. Since she gave it to me I’ve used it most of the month before going to work. It smells lovely and will definitely be one I’ll use on warm summer days.

So those were my favourite products throughout November! What products did you love using last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and hope you’re having a lovely week.

Much Needed Retail Therapy – Haul

photo2024-02-20162052007204220pm_zpsavw1aw5x

Oh dear, I should really be saving my money… Especially when I’m getting closer to buying a house! I hate being a grown-up… >.<

I went out with my friend Sophie (HI SOPHIE!!! :D) for a much needed YO! Sushi, nerdy, and interior design window shopping. It was much needed as I’ve been so busy lately with work, and life in general that I haven’t seen her properly since after Christmas!

We had an amazing day, but I spent a little bit too much money… OOPS! I hope I don’t do the same again Sunday when I see Poppy… Fingers crossed. 😛

One of the items I picked up was from eBay, but I just HAD to mention it today as it was such a bargain I snatched up!

photo2024-02-20162052008201020pm_zpsk7kiugae

One of the first things I picked up before we went for food was this 2016 holographic diary, and pen from Paperchase. I don’t need a diary as I have my planner,  but that’s for important things, this diary is going to be my “Bridget Jones diary” where I write in it everyday. As it is now pretty much two months into the year, I’m using the first few months as random pages to write ideas for my blog, interior ideas for when I get a house, etc. It was 30% off in the sale too, which wasn’t too bad. I recently found my diary from 2013, which I never finished as I had a lot of stuff going on, and just forgot about it. I read through the pages, and it reminded me of things I have forgotten about. So I want that again, especially this year with all the exciting things that are happening!

We ventured into a couple of the comic book shops in town, Forbidden Planet and Nostalgia Comics. I picked this AMAZING comic up from Nostalgia, and I didn’t even know of its existence! Bee and PuppyCat is a cartoon by Natasha Allegri which started off as a cartoon, and has now been turned into a comic! I literally gasped out loud, and pretty loudly too when I saw this, and snatched it up with both hands. There was only one copy left, so I’m glad I got it. I love Bee and PuppyCat, which was inspired by Adventure Time’s Fionna and Cake. I’ll drop a video down below so you can check it out.

photo2024-02-20162052008204920pm_zpsfnvcwjvs

Naughty me bought Benefit… And I said I wouldn’t… Sigh. I decided to do the 4 minis for £15 offer, one of the minis I gave to my mom (a mascara) and I picked up the Triple Performing Facial Emulsion, It’s Potent Eye Cream, and Posie Tint Lip & Cheek Stain. I already LOVE Posie Tint and already know I want to buy the full product. I’m pretty sure I’ll be reviewing this at some point.

I also picked up The POREfessional License To Blot Instant Oil-Blotting Stick. I wanted to pick up Puff Off eye cream/gel, but they didn’t have any left in stock. So I decided to go for this instead. I used it this morning for work and it worked pretty well to be honest! I touched up with a bit of powder during my break, but I wasn’t as oily looking as I usually am, which I was really pleased about. Well worth picking up then!

photo2024-02-20162052009200520pm_zpsvprb9ewf

I didn’t buy these yesterday, I actually picked them up after work. I was only going to buy the one item… I ended up leaving with all of these. Oh dear… I earned a lot of Boots points from it though so WOOHOO! I picked up a new face scrub for myself, and as I loved this so much last time I bought it I decided to repurchase it. It’s a 3 in 1 wash, scrub, and a mask I use the latter two. I didn’t know that Soap & Glory had brought out their Hand Food hand cream in the Sugar Crush scent! Yes it’s in a tiny 50ml bottle, but I don’t mind that at all as it can live in my hand bag, or on my bedside table happily! The main reason for me going into Boots in the first place was to pick up a clear mascara for my eyebrows. I’ve always used the Miss Sporty one and it’s always done me good, so like the face scrub, I repurchased it. Finally I picked up the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL lip gloss in shade Clearvoyant, which I’m sure you can guess is a clear shade. I’ve had my eye on it for a while now, but never seen it on offer until today. With £2.00 off I thought I’d finally pick it up for £8.00. I tried this not long after I got home and it feels and makes my lips look pretty nice. It has a fruity scent to it, and straight away I can feel my lips tingling and plumping. It’s nothing major from what I can see so far, but we shall see how it goes…

photo2024-02-20162052008202120pm_zpswc9gpafv

One of the first places me and Sophie went into after sushi was Tokyo Toys, (which I’m sure as you can guess from the name) is a store dedicated to all things Japanese, and kawaii! We bought a matching little black soot Totoro keychain, and I picked up a little Totoro holding a no face mask keychain. I was going to stick these little guys in my car, but I don’t want to now, so they’re going to sit with my massive Totoro plushie in my room. Yay!

Finally I’m showing off my eBay purchase, some more Black Milk Clothing leggings! Which I hope you can tell are mermaid leggings too. These are the Mermaid Midnight Leggings, which look black but aren’t 100% black. When you shine them in light the scales come up as a dark teal shade, which is pretty cool! These cost $80.00 AUD but I picked them up for £36, including postage and they’re BRAND NEW! I’m so damn pleased that I bid on them, and won them as I’d probably be kicking myself now. I’m going to wear them this weekend, and maybe get some pictures taken for a look book post.

So yeah, that’s everything I picked up when I went on my retail therapy shopping spree!

Have you bought anything nice recently? If so make sure to let me know what you’ve picked up recently.

Until next time all, take care and hope you’re all having a great week so far.

September Favourites 2015

Goodbye September, and hello October AND autumn! I was seriously loving some products in September and I have been so excited to share them with you all today. So let’s just get on with it!

  • The Body Shop Glazed Apply Bath Jelly.

I know this is a product from Christmas 2014, but I don’t care. I fell in love with this when it first came out, so I picked it up in the January sales. Since then I have used it once in a while as a treat and this stuff lasts ages! Only recently have I used it more than previously and I am really sad that I am one or two more uses away from this being finished. I don’t think Glazed Apple is coming back this year, instead it appears to be being replaced by Glazed Plum… Which I don’t think will be as good but whatever. This has left me feeling lovely and soft after a long soak, and smelling of yummy apples. I hope The Body Shop bring back the bath jellies so that I can pick up the other scents this year.

  • Jo Malone Cologne in Earl Grey & Cucumber (review here).

Ever since getting this thanks to my job, I have loved it and let me tell you, it has lasted AGES! I used this on a shopping afternoon and drinks evening out recently in September and I really loved using it. It lasts ages, smells gorgeous and lady like, as well as just being a complete classic for me now. It’s definitely going to be my scent for my graduation! It’s just a shame it costs so much, but I can see this bottle lasting me years as I only use it when I really fancy it. I don’t go crazy with the bottle otherwise it’ll all be used up really quickly.

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

If there is a lip balm that I go back to every autumn and winter, it’s this. It’s just so creamy and moisturising and it really does help me when my lips are incredibly dry, which they have been a lot lately. Not only that, but I haven’t been that bothered about wearing lipstick this month and I really don’t know why. I’ve just felt “meh” whenever I look at my lipsticks and end up slathering this on before I leave the house. It’s just perfect, and I can never say anything wrong about it!

  • Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Softening Nourishing Lotion.

I stopped using this a while ago, only recently remembering that I owned it when going through my beauty cupboard. Instead of using this as a body lotion I’ve been using it as a in shower body lotion, and also to shave with and I don’t care if you’re not meant to do this, because it works really well for me. I don’t get time to apply body lotion after I get out of the shower or bath these days, so I need to keep moisturised somehow. Being able to apply this all over and rinse it off after I’ve used a shower gel is really good, and it leaves me feeling soft and smooth all day! It also smells really nice! For shaving it really does the job, and has saved me using all my expensive shave gel too.

  • Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss.

I picked this up a couple of months ago and have been using it none stop. It’s a really summery moisturising lip gloss with SPF 15, perfect for holidays, which is why I picked it up. I didn’t really wear any lipstick when I went on holiday so I doubt I will do the next time I go, so this is a great option to wear from day to evening. This smells and tastes delicious, just like island berries and has a light pink/red shade to it. I keep this in my backpack to apply when out on the go. It isn’t sticky which I really like, but due to that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to, which is pretty annoying. I picked this up in Asda for £3, but in Boots it retails for for nearly £8, shocker! So if you’re wanting to pick this up, go to your local Asda and pick up a bargain!

So, those are my favourites from September. They’re nothing special, I’ll admit that but they’re essentials to be honest and ones I have been loving this month for sure.

What beauty products are you loving from September? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and here’s to October!

May Favourites 2015

Wow, where have the past five months gone? It’s now June and that means we’re also halfway through the year. Roll on Christmas huh? But before then, I want some nice sunshine!

I found my favourites for this month a little hard to choose, but that’s mostly because I’ve been so busy and such with my assignments this month that I haven’t had much thought about what I have been using a lot. But when I walk around my bathroom and bedroom, I soon found some beauty bits I loved throughout the  month.

  • Paul Smith Rose EDP.

This is an old favourite of mine and something I love using throughout the year. I’ve recently started to use it again and I really did miss it. I can’t remember the last time I used it to be fair! This is my second bottle of this after receiving another for my 24th birthday last year. It’s a gorgeous strong scent that will last ages! I always get complimented when I wear this and due to that it reminds me of my gran. Whenever I wore this she always commented how lovely I smelt. So whenever I wear it, I instantly think of her. For how nice this perfume is, you can pick it up super cheap as a 100ml size! Less than £30 in some shops, one being Asda.

  • Balance Me Tinted Lip Salve in Ruby Red.

I actually received this as a free sample in a copy of Glamour a couple of months ago and at first I used it loads as it was a nice product to apply if I just wanted a bit of a tint. However I didn’t touch it for ages until a few weeks ago. I love using this for work as it’s a multiple use lip product. It hydrates and tints the lips and is also petroleum free, which I really like! I got a full sized tube, which is worth £12! These come in other shades too, but I do really like the red shade. It isn’t a bright red when applied to the lips, sort of like a tomato red, but I really like it if I’m not in the mood for anything heavy.

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in This Color’s Making Waves (from the Hawaii Collection).

This is a nail lacquer I have lusting over for a couple of months now and I finally have it! I already know I’ll be buying a bigger bottle of this before it’s discontinued as I just adore it. When I first wore it I fell in love, not just as the gorgeous turquoise shade, but also how nice it made my nails look! I’m not a huge fan of my nails as they’re rather stubby and boyish looking, but when I apply certain polishes they can look gorgeous. This lacquer is one of those. The formula is great to work with too which I really liked. I can see me rocking this throughout summer, hell even autumn, winter, and spring. It’s probably one of my favourite nail lacquers already!

  • Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick in Liberty.

I mentioned recently in a haul (here) about picking up two of the shades from the Iconic Pro collection, this being one of them. It’s a gorgeous blue toned purple that reminds me of MAC’s Violetta lipstick. Although I also picked up another purple shade (Liberty Matte) I found that this one is a little more wearable when it come to work. I love wearing bright lip colours, and the braver I get, the bolder the lip colours have become. Next I’ll be trying black! 😉 Anyway, this is a gorgeous purple lipstick and although it doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped, it still looks and feels gorgeous when I wear it. The only thing I haven’t been liking about these lipsticks are the smell. It reminds me of PlayDoh which we can all agree, isn’t very nice.

  • Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1 Wash Scrub & Mask.

I wouldn’t say I would replace my Clinique face wash for this, but I am pretty hooked on this! As the title of the product states, it’s a wash, scrub, and a mask. What more can you ask for? I will say, I don’t understand how this works as a wash and a scrub but meh it does I guess. I use this once or twice a week as a scrub and once or twice a week as a mask. The mask works really well as getting rid of my oily t-zone and leaves my dry cheeks feeling moisturised and soft. I’ve always struggled when it comes to face masks, but I think I’m onto a winner with this one. As a scrub, it doesn’t scrub as much as I’d have hoped, but it does the job alright for me, so I can’t complain. I don’t know if I’ll repurchase this one yet, as I like to shop around for the perfect product. We shall see though.

So those were my favourites for May. Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? Also, what are your favourites for this month? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all.

2014’s Top 10 Favourites

Image taken from weheartit.com

This is a post that is long overdue, and I’m finally getting the time to write it! As regular readers will know I’ve been away on holiday the past two weeks so any posts I usually have up on my blog at the start of each month, haven’t really been there this month. Great start to the year eh?

But better late than never eh?

I’m going to show my top ten favourites from the year and there might be a few from 2013, but I don’t care. If it’s a good product, I’m mentioning it!

  • Garnier Pure Active Wasabi Fresh Face Scrub.

I’ve mentioned this on my favourites in the past and it has definitely been a great scrub to add to my bathroom in 2014! It’s actually for men, but this works perfectly on my female, sensitive skin so I’m not complaining. My boyfriend uses this too and I noticed a dramatic change in his skin, so it isn’t just me who noticed how good it is. This isn’t the cheapest scrub but I’ve owned this for months now, I use it twice a week and it’s still lasting me ages. There is also a face wash to go with the scrub but I won’t be trying it, maybe my boyfriend will in the future. Since using this scrub I’ve noticed any dry patches on my face have vanished and any signs of blackheads have dramatically evaporated. I highly recommend this scrub, even if you have sensitive skin like I do.

  • Lush Comforter Bubble Bar.

I love Lush, regular readers will know this. I bought this bubble bar for the first time months ago when I went to Bristol for mine and my boyfriends first anniversary and it’s safe to say I have fallen in love with it. I’d always smelt it in the shop and loved it’s replica smell of Ribena but as soon as I eyed the price I left it. I regret never buying it until 2014 as this bubble bar lasts ages! The scent is so strong that you only need a little chunk and it’ll go a long way. I’ve found myself getting a good six baths out of one bar, some may prefer to use the whole bar in one bath or two halves to make two baths but I’m quite stingy with my Lush products and I like to make them last. This is really good for the skin and not only does it leave me feeling nice and soft, but it leaves me smelling gorgeous too! I love using this on days where I’m having a lazy day in the house and want a pick me up. It’s also nice to use before you go to sleep as when you get under the covers you can smell it for ages. This is definitely going to be a bath staple for me now.

  • Easy Nails Fast & Fruity Nail Polish Remover.

This is by far one of the best nail polish remover pots I have ever used and that includes Bourjois too. Bourjois nail polish remover pot was the first one I tried and for how much it cost, I was incredibly disappointed. I’ve recently got it back out of my nail polish drawer to try and use up as I’m sick of the sight of it now. For less than a £1 you can pick up the Easy Nails pot and it does a hell of a lot more than the Bourjois one has ever done. I pop my finger in, twist it back and forth ten times and I’ll pull it out as clean as the nail was before I applied the polish on the nail. I stock up on these as soon as my current one feels dry. With glitter nail polish I don’t find it works as well as the aluminum foil technique does (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, Google it. But I will write about this technique very soon) but I don’t want it to get rid of glitter polish. It’s just so great to use and quick too. I wish I had taken one on holiday with me as it would have come in handy when I painted my nails there.

  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet.

I’ve written a review for this before and whilst I’ve now replaced this with Clinique, I still loved it in 2014 and would be lying if I said otherwise. This was perfect during the summer and my prayers were answered when it came out as it was boiling outside and this really did cool me down. As well as that it left my skin feeling super moisturised and feeling soft. This was rumoured to have some sort of matte texture to it, but I didn’t really notice that myself. I took this on holiday with me and it really did keep my skin feeling cool, soft as well as feeling good in the evenings. This is great to use both in summer and winter but I do find the benefits of the cooling sensation work a hell of a lot better when the weather is warmer. If you want to read more about this, definitely check out the review for it!

  • Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm.

Another product I’ve reviewed  and used time and time again. I’m currently using it as it’s my go to lip balm whilst I’m in the house. I first tried this after attending VintSetFest and this was in my goodie bag. I’d heard nothing but good things about Carmex but never really thought to use them before but now I love them! I even bought the strawberry flavour not long after getting the original one, which I haven’t loved as much but it’s still good and what I used whilst I was on holiday. I probably won’t buy another one of these for a while just because I want to use my current lip balms up, but I think the next one I will try out will either be cherry or mint.

  • The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector.

I’ve mentioned this hand cream many times and a year later I’m still using the same tube! This tube really is huge and a little bit of this hand cream does go a long way. As this one is for dry to very dry skin it’s perfect for when my hands begin to show signs of eczema and so far my hands haven’t had any issues… Well apart from when I landed in the UK from my holiday, my one knuckle split. Hello cold weather, much? I use this before I head out and whilst I’m out and about, as I often use other hand creams in the house. I definitely recommend this hand cream to anyone who suffers with eczema like myself.

  • MAC Lipstick in Goddess of the Sea.

This is the last MAC lipstick I bought and it’s definitely one of my favourites. It’s a gorgeous purple shade and is cremesheen so it not only lasts ages but looks slightly glossy too. I can’t wait to try this underneath my new Estee Lauder lip liner as I’m sure it’ll look beautiful. I have used it with a dark purple lip liner and it looks really dark and gothic, which I rather like. I especially love the packaging for this due to the water effect, something I am a huge nerd of (I love water!) so this appealed a lot when I went to buy it. I don’t wear this shade as much as I do with some of my MAC lipsticks because it’s limited edition. I think if I find it somewhere cheap I’ll definitely buy myself a back up.

  • Viktor & Rolf BonBon EDP.

Since the start of 2014 when bloggers started to announce the release of these and tell us all the notes and how yummy it smelt I was excited. So when it finally came out in the UK and on the shelves to test out and buy, I gave it a sniff as soon as I could. I fell in love with it, but however I didn’t fall in love with the price and for ages I put off buying it. However before I went to uni I decided it was time to use the points I earn at work to use to buy this, so this cost me NOTHING, not a single penny! I took this on holiday with me and was lovely to wear on days when I wanted something light, but powerful enough to last all evening. If you haven’t smelt this yet, please make sure to as it’s not like anything that is out there at the moment, plus the bottle is adorable.

  • Macadamia No Tangle Brush.

I’ve owned this brush over a year now and it’s by far the best brush I have ever owned. I got it for £10 at VintSetFest and since then I’ve not replaced it, although I do need to buy another one asap as this one is getting a little battered now. It’s a no tangle brush, as the title states so it helps me to brush my long hair without ripping, causing damage, or causing any pain to myself. It also feels really nice to use due to the soft bristles. I especially like that this has a handle as it’s easier to hold and means I can have control whilst brushing my hair, unlike brushes like Tangle Teezer’s. I definitely recommend this brush over the Tangle Teezer.

  • OPI Nail Lacquer in How Is Your Dane?

This is by far my favourite nail polish by OPI that I own and there’s a couple of reasons why. First of all the name, which is shared by my boyfriend, who is called Dane. I of course love the shade too, which is a beautiful chocolate-brown shade with a gel like finish. I was going to wear this on holiday but decided against it incase it got ruined due to the heat, or any other reasons. This is definitely the perfect polish to wear throughout autumn and winter, but will be nice to wear throughout all of the year. I like to wear it with glitter nail polish, as well as with a matte top coat to give it a different finish.

So those are my top ten favourite products from 2014! There are already so many more things I’ve found for my top ten for 2015 already.

What were your favourites from 2014? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all.

September Favourites 2014

I know this post is a week late, but as they say, better late than never!

It’s late because I’ve honestly just been too busy to do any writing, although I managed to get my wish list written okay… I put that down to picture-taking though!

So finally my favourites post is here and I really have loved September. It wasn’t so bad and even involved a fresh start that I’ve needed for a long time! I’ve been at university for three weeks now and whilst I am extremely nervous, I am really enjoying it.

Without further delay, my favourites!

  • N SPA Cherry Body Scrub.

After using up my body scrub I decided it was time to buy a replacement and whilst I wanted to buy a nice one for myself (The Body Shop, or Soap & Glory) I opted for this one by N Spa, to try and save myself a few pennies. I bought this one and a Raspberry one, which I am yet to try. This body scrub I at first thought would be rubbish but alas I was wrong and it’s turned out better than I thought it would be! There’s a few things I really like about this, first of all the fact it lathers up when applied to the skin! I use it with my sponge and it really does leave me feeling soft after use, but what else is great about this is how it smells delicious! Although I do sway more towards citrus and strawberry scents, I am a total sucker for cherry too and this is a nice black cherry scent that any cherry scent fan will fall in love with. N Spa is a great and affordable brand and I recommend it to anyone fancying trying something new.

  • Simple Anti-Bacterial Hand Wash.

I know I used to say last year and the start of this year how after finding Dettol’s hand wash I would NEVER use another hand wash due to my eczema, but I have broadened my horizons lately, as regular readers will know and this is a hand wash I HAVE used in the past and had problems with. This is a mint scented hand wash and due to that I was already sold, the anti-bacterial  side of it was just a bonus really! However when I used this about a year ago my hands were left tight, dry, and extremely sore and due to it my eczema was worse than it needed to be! I vowed never to use it again, but I didn’t keep it. Recently my mom decided to bring this into the kitchen for us to use and as I thought it would be better for my hands than fairy liquid, I reluctantly started to use it. My hands have been nothing but soft and not exactly perfect, but not as bad as they originally were with previous uses of this hand wash and I was pleasantly surprised! So I decided to pick one up for myself and I am glad I did, especially for a £1! I recommend it, especially in the run up to Christmas as the mint scent really does remind me of the time of year.

  • Dolly Mixtures Shower Gel in Pina Colada.

Dolly Mixtures is a new brand that Asda have brought into their stores and I have wanted to buy all the shower gels they sell, but as I don’t have the room, nor the money to buy them all I decided to just pick up one instead, which is Pina Colada. I’m a sucker for the drink, as it’s my favourite cocktail and I love pineapple and coconut scents, especially together. I wanted a bog standard shower gel to use before work and this one was the perfect choice! The scent really uplifts me and wakes me up in the mornings before I head to work, and the way this leaves my skin feeling and smelling is divine! At the time of buying this it was on offer at £1, but it retails for £2, which is definitely worth the money! As soon as this runs out I’m going to buy another scent to try! I can see me buying these for friends this Christmas as they’re really nice and for the price, a real sweet treat!

  • Garnier Pure Active Wasabi Fresh Face Scrub.

This was a spontaneous purchase as my Soap & Glory face scrub finally saw its last day and I threw the rest of it away, I think I’d have it nearly 2 years and with a shelf life of just a year, I wasn’t going to risk using it anymore! I had a look at loads of face scrubs during a visit to Tesco and this one was half price so I had a look and decided to buy it. The day after buying I decided to give it a go and it was amazing! It foamed up, which I really like in a face scrub and just felt like it was really working to cleanse my skin, as well as wash away any dead skin, as well as clear my blackheads. After using it I decided to read the back of the tube a little more than I had done in the shop and as I read  more I read how it is formulated for men. YES, MEN! I bought a man’s face scrub and you’re probably shaking your heads at me or laughing, but does it really matter who it’s made for? I don’t think so and since using it my skin has really improved and even my boyfriends has too! I really want to try the face wash next as if the scrub has left my skin looking good, then I’m sure the wash will too.

  • Maybelline Color Elixir in Fuchsia Flourish (review here).

I have never loved a lip product as much as I love Maybelline’s Color Elixir’s! I want to get more shades yet but out of the three I bought this one has been the most worn and therefore most loved. It’s a gorgeous dark pink and is wearable day-to-night and leaves a lovely subtle stain behind. I have really enjoyed wearing this for work but I’ve also loved wearing it for university too as it’s easy to apply, leaves your lips feeling soft and nourished as well as giving your lips a pop of colour. If you want to know more about it, go and read my review, it’s been linked in the title.

  • Chapstick in Apple.

I LOVE apple Chapstick and when I spied 4 of these for a £1 in Pound World I decided to get myself some! This is probably my favourite lip balm ever as it smells and tastes delicious, just like fresh apples and keeps your lips soft and smooth, can’t really complain with that! I have really enjoyed using this at university as traveling to and from uni, as well as to and from lectures I sometimes just want to keep my lips hydrated instead of looking colourful so the days that I don’t wear lipstick/gloss there this lip balm comes in handy. Plus I love wearing it at work too!

  • Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Spray.

I bought this for uni and it’s really been a savior to use after work whilst I make my way to university! It really does refresh my face and I even use it throughout the day and after work even if I don’t have uni. I’ve never used it before and whilst it was half price I thought I would pick it up, as I have wanted to try it since it came out. I really like Simple’s products as they’re perfect for my sensitive skin and never break me out or cause any issues on my skin. With the moisture boost it really does help bring some moisture into the skin and refresh your skin after a long day. It’s really nice to use after a hot bath because of that too, as well as after using a face scrub or face mask. I recommend it if you’re busy like me and want something to freshen the skin up whilst on the go!

  • The Body Shop Strawberry Hand Cream.

I had the coconut hand cream on my favourites last month and now I have the strawberry one this month! All I’ve been using is the strawberry hand cream as it’s kept my hands lovely and soft, as well as smelling delicious! This isn’t a huge tube either so it fits perfectly into my handbag. It’s just a gorgeous light hand cream that absorbs quickly and leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth! I really need to review these in the future so keep your eyes peeled! I recommend these if you’re like me and don’t like thick, greasy hand creams.

  • Viktor & Rolf BonBon EDP.

Oh my life I have been lusting after this perfume ever since it was announced late January and I finally got my hands on it in September! I didn’t have to pay for this 30ml bottle and it was worth £55. It wasn’t a gift and it did cost me something, but not cash. If I explain where I got it from and how I’ll also be talking about my job and where I work, which I don’t wish to do on my blog… ANYWAY I have it now and it’s one of my favourite perfumes! It’s such a gorgeous sweet scent and not only does my Mom love it, but my boyfriend really does too. I’ve already asked for one of these in a 50ml or 100ml for Christmas! I WILL be writing a post about this soon!

  • The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Hand Cleanse Gel.

As regular readers will know, I’m a total sucker for The Body Shop’s hand sanitizers and I love to use them for work and keep them in my bag for on the go. I think I’ve tried them all apart from Mango now and this is one of my favourites out of the all! It’s really strong citrus wise and when I use this at work it really does perk me up and wake me up. Like all the hand cleanse gels, it’s a strong scent and as soon as I use it I get comments, positive of course. As usual, I recommend these to everyone to try at least once!

So those were my favourites for September… FINALLY!

I’m sorry for the wait, but sadly my studies for university come first at the moment.

I shall have my empties post up tomorrow though, so don’t worry.

I hope everyone’s week has gone off to a good start and until next time, take care all.

Bristol Haul & Anniversary Presents (WARNING PHOTO HEAVY!)

DSC_0002

It’s here, my Bristol haul post! I won’t lie, I’ve actually been super excited to make this post because I just love all the things that I bought, or received from my boyfriend whilst we were in Bristol.

I spent quite a bit of money whilst there, which in turn has left me poor and with quite a lot less savings, this makes me very sad. It just means I’ll need to go on a spending ban again and be super good!

So without anymore delays, I want to start my exciting post!

DSC_0003

DSC_0004

As you can see from the pictures above I bought a mixture of clothing, beauty pieces, and some random items. I’m not going to talk about anything in any certain order, however I am leaving my anniversary presents until last as they’re special. ^_^

DSC_0008

I wanted to get this dress mentioned out-of-the-way as I actually didn’t buy this whilst I was in Bristol. I did however order it just before I left for Bristol and it arrived whilst I was away. I came home to it on Monday and tried it on and it’s absolutely gorgeous! It’s by AX Paris and has this gorgeous daisy print on it, as well as a white-collar and some white cuffed sleeves. I’ve seen daisy print dresses everywhere at the moment and saw this one weeks ago in Coventry in New Look, sadly though they only had a size 6, which is way too small for me so I had to leave it behind. However upon going in USC last Tuesday with my best friend I saw one similar to this and wanted to look for it again on the website to order, BUT I found this one on their website in the sale for £18.00! Complete bargain seeing as it was £25.00 and as I was after some more spring and summer dresses, I think I’m onto a winner here for the fact that I can also wear this during the autumn and winter too! I am a tad pissed off mind that this is now £12.50… Not at all pleased but whatever, nothing I can do now.

DSC_0018

This was a random purchase whilst on the way to Bristol. We popped into Morrisons to pick up some travel snacks and drinks, as well as a few other bits and pieces for our long weekend away, which included a body lotion for myself. I didn’t want to pack anything heavy, as there was meant to be lovely weather (which there was!) and I didn’t have a light body lotion to take with me either. This is a gorgeous body lotion, it’s very light which means it will sink straight into the skin and when I bought this it was less than £2.00! Complete bargain and since Bristol I’ve been using it at home too as it’s just lovely and light to apply before I head to work or out and about.

We decided to have a day of shopping, which resulted in being done on Saturday and a little bit on Sunday and Monday, but mostly Saturday and after then I think we were pretty skint!

These were the things that I picked up on Saturday!

DSC_0013 DSC_0014

I’ve been after a water tumblr for quite a while now and whilst on the way home from the Lake District last month I had a look in the Starbucks in one of the motorway service stations we visited on the way home. These were priced at over £11 EACH and I couldn’t believe they were so expensive! So of course I left it and ventured to eBay and shops such as Primark, Clinton Cards, etc to see if I could find one, but everywhere  I went no one had one and if they did they were crazy prices or look terrible quality for the price tag. Whilst my boyfriend and I were in Starbucks in Bristol’s city centre getting our morning refreshments I noticed that they had some of the plastic tumblrs and I asked how much they were, this cost me £8.95! Not cheap but it’s what I wanted and as you can see in the images, I’m using it! I’m currently drinking some lemon water out of this bad boy and loving it! Now I didn’t know this until now BUT you can buy these from Starbucks website for I think a pound more than what you would pay for in the store, but don’t quote me! I love this so much, going to use it loads.

DSC_0017

As regular readers will know, I was after this perfume all last month and my Mom was lovely enough to give me some money for my holiday to which I said, “Thanks Mom, I’m going to buy a new perfume with this!” and I kept my word! As you can see I picked up this Marc Jacobs perfume, Oh Lola and I love it so much. I love the Marc Jacobs scents anyway but this is one of my favourites by him due to its light floral scent. Can I also mention how gorgeous the bottle is??? This is by far a pleasure to now have in my perfume collection and out of them all, this one definitely stands out the most. This was meant to be £36.50 but I only paid £31.50 due to wonderful 15% off code that I had to use! I was so chuffed with this purchase due to the huge saving. I only picked up a 30ml bottle, so I’m going to make sure to save it for best occasions.

These polishes were an absolute bargain that I snapped them up with both hands as soon as I eyed them up in TK Maxx. £9.99… What a bargain!!! I’d been lusting after these polishes for ages and had contemplated picking them up for a while in my local Sally Beauty for a while but am I glad I didn’t now. I noticed a lady clutching onto these in TK Maxx and eyed up the beauty section closer to try and see if there was another box left and clearly, there was! I love TK Maxx for their bargains and no one beats them when it comes to nail polishes. The shades left to right are, Miss Piggy’s Big Number, I Love Applause, Kermit Me To Speak and Chillin’ Like a Villain. I wore Kermit Me To Speak on all my nails apart from my left ring finger which I painted with Miss Piggy’s Big Number and these were put on as soon as we got back from the hotel from shopping! I can’t wait to try the other two shades this weekend coming, I’m rather excited!

If you aren’t aware of what the Bean Boozled beans by Jelly Beans are all about, then where have you been hiding? Under a rock!? These are joke beans that are going around the internet, especially YouTube like wild-fire. Basically there are two beans that look the same but one will be a lovely flavour, whilst the other is vile and due to them all looking alike, you won’t know which flavour of the two you’ll get. There are some weird and disgusting flavours in here and I originally bought 2 packets of these from Hawkins Bazaar but my boyfriend and I tried a packet out on Monday when we got back home from Bristol and whilst it was vile to try most of the flavours, it was also fun to try… But it’s safe to say I wouldn’t do it again! These were only £3, so if you’d like to give the Bean Boozled challenge a go, I say go for it! My boyfriend and I recorded us trying these, whether or not it will ever appear on my blog, I don’t know… But if it does I’ll soon link it here. 😉

Although we didn’t mean to go shopping on Sunday, we did pop to one or two shops whilst we were out, but Sunday was mostly a day of relaxation as it was the day we celebrated our anniversary and wanted to just go to Bristol Aquarium, have some couple time and then we went out for a meal in the evening. BUT I will be talking about what we did in Bristol, where we went and why we’ll be going back in a separate post!

DSC_0005

DSC_0006

Before we headed to the Bristol Aquarium we popped into a shop called Colab that caught our eyes on the Friday when we cut through the town to walk down to the harbor and we fell in love with the clothing they sold in there. They sold nothing but independent art prints, t-shirts, records, prints and many more which is something my boyfriend and I love! We had looked in there on the Friday but wanted to wait to buy anything and with that we popped back in on Sunday to possibly buy something. We both picked up t-shirt, my boyfriend picked up a white one with some samurai’s on it and I picked up this cute fox t-shirt by Boodle. As regular readers will know, I LOVE foxes and it’s somewhat unhealthy! I don’t think I own any t-shirts with foxes on so when I spotted this I fell in love. It’s a gorgeous dark green t-shirt with a wood scene on it with some foxes camping all sat around a fire and with a little teepee by them. I was so glad this was available for women or I may have cried! They had another fox t-shirt that I liked the look of but they only had that available for men, as well as in an amazing sweater form which I wanted but I didn’t want to pick it up at the time. This t-shirt was only £18.00 and I wore it on Monday when my boyfriend and I made our way home from Bristol and it was so comfortable! I can see me living in this t-shirt.

DSC_0020

DSC_0021

On the Sunday for our anniversary treat out we went to Bristol Aquarium as we love animals so we’re suckers for things like that. The aquarium was lovely, but I’ll talk more about that in another post! Whilst we were there I decided to pick up a quirky bracelet, which is this gorgeous leather bracelet with a cute little sea-horse on it. It was just over £2.00 which I thought was a decent price. As well as that I picked up a photo holder, which as you can see I’ve used to hold some pictures of me and my boyfriend. There were loads of photo booths there that you’re meant to use to get some passport photographs taken at, but they also enabled you to take some quirky pictures, which is what we deiced to do. We took 4 coloured pictures inside Cabot Circus shopping centre and some little black and white ones, as well as colour photographs in Colab. These cost £2 each, which were worth EVERY penny as I’ve always wanted to take some pictures like this before. I really love the 3 pictures I have on my little clown fish picture holder and it’s sitting by my bed so that when I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night this is the first and last thing I see.

DSC_0019

These were a VERY random purchase and one I made whilst wandering around some of the shops in Bristol. I’m not 100% sure which Body Shop it was but it stood out like a sore thumb due to the fact it had the old Body Shop logo from the 90’s, if not older and the store inside looked exactly the same too! The girl in the store told me that it was the oldest Body Shop store in the UK and that it was sadly due a refurbishment soon due to parts of the shop falling apart. I picked up a  3 for 2 on the Hand Cleanse Gels but gave my boyfriend one, which was Strawberry. I picked up Satsuma and Coconut, the Coconut scent is currently in my hand bag and I can’t tell you how much I love it right now! It smells so fresh and clean which makes it perfect for summer. These don’t cost a lot each, I think less than £2.00 from memory.

DSC_0028

This is a mixture of Lush buys from both Saturday and Monday. We popped into the Lush in Bristol’s town centre where the staff were lovely and helpful, as well as chatty about all the products! I bought my boyfriend a couple of things as he hasn’t yet tried Lush and I wanted him to. I bought him Pink Fun and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. He tried both of them out in the hotel room both Saturday and Sunday night and he loved them! As well as that I bought myself May Day Bath Bomb and The Comforter Bubble Bar. May Day Bath Bomb was a limited edition bath bomb from May for badgers and is a gorgeous citrus smelling bath bomb and reminds me of Whoosh Shower Gel. I picked up another two of these in Cribbs Causeway shopping centre on the Monday after trying out some of the May Day Bath Bomb on Sunday night. They only cost £2.95 each and all the money goes towards a good cause, SO if your local Lush shop stocks these, pick some up! As I mentioned I also picked up The Comforter Bubble Bar which surprisingly enough I hadn’t tried before although I have done for years! It reminds me of Ribena, which I love and when I popped this in a bath for my boyfriend and I to share on Saturday night, we both fell in love with it! These aren’t cheap however at £4.50 each but so so worth it!

SO basically that is everything I bought whilst I was in Bristol. Now onto what my anniversary presents were from my boyfriend.

My boyfriend really did spoil me for our first anniversary together and I do feel bad about it but at the same time it’s nice to be spoilt, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it to be fair. I love what he bought for me and I know I’m going to wear the things he bought me fondly in the future.

This was the first present he bought for me and the most expensive one at that! It is a Dr Martens tartan dress. We popped into the Dr Martens shop just for a glance at what they had nice in store and we spotted this dress and I mentioned how I rather liked it but after looking at the price tag I kind of left it. My boyfriend noticed how much I liked it and encouraged me to try it on. The Dr Martens store in Bristol doesn’t have a changed room so I had to pop this over the top of my clothes, which was okay. I tried this on, fell in love but said I would see as I wasn’t 100% sure, however later on that day we popped back in, I tried it on one more time and my boyfriend bought it for me. Would you like to know the price of it? Well tough, I’m not going to say. It wasn’t cheap though and is a very cherished gift and one I know I will wear all year round, especially with my Dr Martens boots! I did get some lovely pictures of me wearing this on the Sunday for our anniversary which will be on my blog in the near future!

DSC_0024

This was a random purchase and one my boyfriend and I agreed that we would both get whilst in Bristol. We’ve been excited for TomoDachi Life for quite some time now and we both knew we would want to get it! It only came out on the Friday and we picked it up the next day. This is an amazing game and if you like games like Sims and Animal Crossing then you will LOVE this! This was nice of my boyfriend to pick up for me as when I noticed the price tag I was in two minds of whether to pick it up or not, so he offered to get it for me and since buying these all we’ve done is play this game!

My final present from my boyfriend and one I’ll love forever is my Pandora Mouse In The Cup charm. He had wanted to get me this charm for quite a while, but for my birthday opted for my Waving Cat charm instead, which I love too. As the store in Cabot Circus didn’t stock this charm we had to ask for it to be put on hold at Cribbs Causeway which they certainly did for us for two days and we picked it up on the Monday on the way home from Bristol. This charm is absolutely gorgeous and has a lot of detail into it. It’s a cute little mouse sat inside a tea-cup which has a heart by it which says, “Be Mine” which is so cute, soppy and romantic, perfect for an anniversary present. I love this charm so damn much and so far I’ve only been able to wear it on my bracelet for one day, so I can’t wait to wear this more to show it off!

So after a very long and photo heavy post, I have come to end of this post. I loved everything I bought and especially loved the presents my boyfriend bought for me.

I don’t think I will be buying anything for quite some time now as I’m not only skint but I don’t think I need anything else for a while now!

Look forward to some more posts about Bristol over the next week as well as plenty of other posts.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well, the weekend will be upon us soon!

September Empties

DSC_0007Another month that has passed us by means another empties post is written up and published on my blog.

I didn’t use up a great deal in September, although it feels like I used a lot more… Odd…

On with the empties post!

DSC_0008

  • Sanex Sensitive Skin Shower Cream.

This was bought for me by my Mom when she noticed the skin on the tops of my arms was looking a little dry and unloved. I wouldn’t say this shower cream was the most amazing I’ve tried but it’s really nice to use on the skin when you want to get your skin back to how it should be naturally. It contains “dermo active 3” which adds protection, moisturisation and rebalance. This did leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but was only something I used if I was quickly going to work, as this  has no scent to it, and I like getting out of my shower with a slight smell in the air, if you know what I mean? This foams up REALLY well though and it feels lovely due to it, but eventually I used this up in my bath and even though it was meant to be a cream for the shower, it worked lovely as a bath cream too.

  • Colgate Plax Complete Care Sensitive Mouthwash.

This mouthwash has been mentioned in two separate empties posts (here and here) as well as in a favourites post. I really like using this mouthwash as it does the job, helps out my sensitive teeth and doesn’t break the bank either! I always buy this, only not buying it if I’m in the need for mouthwash and can’t find this one, or if I’m not able to afford it, which has been the case at the moment as I am very poor. If you wish to know more about this mouthwash go and check out my previous posts linked above, as everything you will need to know about it, is there.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner For Fine Or Oily Hair.

My Mom bought me this a while ago to try and encourage me to condition my hair, as since I was a teenager all conditioning my hair has done is make it greasy and limp, however this isn’t the case with this conditioner. I don’t apply this to the top of my head, just the ends and above, the top of my head doesn’t need conditioning to be perfectly honest. This conditioner is light weight, smells of oranges and lemons and rinses off easily by just keeping my head under the shower for a maximum of 5 or so minutes. I really like this conditioner and whilst is isn’t the cheapest it lasts ages and does a better job than anything Boots could sell you. I’ve already started to use my second tube of this and I’m getting ready to buy myself some more, just so I’m ready when I run out on this tube.

  • Garnier Moisture Match Revitalising Moisturising Gel in Wake me Up.

This was mentioned back in my June Favourites, which is when I first bought this moisturiser. I really liked using this and I’m sad it’s all gone now. I bought this to try after my Clinique Moisturising Gel ran out and I have to say, it was a nice little replacement for the meantime. I would re purchase this but I do really want to get back into using my Clinique 3 Step, so my Moisturising Gel will be my next purchase me thinks. This gel was lovely and light on the skin and did indeed make my skin look and appear brighter, which I really liked. This is something that would be ideal for the cold autumn and winter months when you skin looks a little dry and dull, but that being said this is also great for the hot spring and summer months as this being a gel really does cool your skin down. It smells really nice too. I probably will re purchase this actually, but only to use when I go traveling as whilst the tube is small, it clearly lasts ages, or in my case nearly 4 months.

  • Bath & Body Works Pocketbac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Fresh Picked Strawberries.

I’m sad to see this all used up, but at the same time I’m rather glad. At first I didn’t get on with the smell of this at all as it was really strong and often gave me headaches. I used to use it in my old job in the mornings and I got a mixture of complaints from staff of how strong it was ad compliments from customers how lovely it smelt, some even asking where I bought it from. In the end I kept this next to my bed to pop on before I went to sleep and the strawberry scent was somewhat relaxing after a while. I’m going to keep the little bottle to put normal hand sanitizer in so I can pop this in my apron pocket at work. I wrote a review for this back in April which you check out here. 🙂

  • Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Face Spa Face Mask.

I love Montagne Jeunesse’s face masks and as I’ve recently discovered the sheet masks, I’ve been using them quite a bit lately. The Tea Tree one is amazing and left my skin lovely and soft, as well as blemish free for a couple of days after use. When I opened the packet I was expecting a really strong tea tree smell but I was greeted with a pleasant light scent of tea tree, which I really liked. I popped the mask on, left it for 15 minutes (even though the packet says 5-10 minutes) and when I took it off my skin looked fresh and felt tingly and clean. It also felt cooling, which I thought was odd but all the same a very nice feeling. I’m going to be stocking up on these face masks and I hope to find more versions of them too, as two isn’t enough for my liking. I’ll be writing up reviews for these in the very near future!

So those were my empties from September, it wasn’t a whole lot but never mind!

What did you use up during September? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your October if going off to a good start already.

September Favourites

DSC_0002

I can’t believe September is finally over, it went by really quickly, didn’t it? I know I say this every month but I really can’t believe how quickly this year is going, it’ll be Christmas in a couple of months (insert gulp here)!

It’s not started to get chillier and as I write this I appear to have cold like symptoms, so I’m wrapped up warm in bed with a cup of tea and watching Disney films (I have Sleeping Beauty on at the moment) while I write-up some blog posts.

As stressful as September has been, it’s also been an amazing month and I’m glad to say I really enjoyed September this year, here’s to a great October!

Now, let me show you what products I enjoyed using throughout September.

  • Imperial Leather Foamburst Luxurious Body Wash in Moisturising Honey & Almond Milk.

I bought this after seeing it in Sainsbury’s on offer and when I get home from work I stink of coffee and sometimes have sticky forearms from where syrups and sauces have gone all over me from making all sorts of drinks for people so I like to have a quick shower when I get back. The foamburst body washes have been out for years and I used to use them all the time, both for washing my body as well as for shaving and I don’t know why I ever stopped using them to be perfectly honest. The honey and almond milk in this body wash is really moisturising on the skin and leaves me feeling soft as a babies bum! I like to use this for shaving too, as it leaves a really nice smooth finish afterwards. These come in different scents and such too, as well as some limited edition versions that come out once or twice a year. These are just really quick and easy to use, especially if you’re in a hurry and that’s what I like about them so much. I definitely recommend this one if you have dry skin like myself, as it just feels like a treat, especially now the weather is getting colder. On top of all that, this smells amazing! I love it so much and will definitely be repurchasing, alongside another scent maybe.

  • Garnier Intensive 7 Days Hand Cream in Dry To Extra-Dry.

In my September Favourites in 2012 I spoke about this hand cream, I also spoke about it last month too! I know it’s bad to speak about the same product a month after it was previously mentioned but I swear to God, this hand cream is my savior at the moment. I’ve been to my doctor so much these past two months that I feel like a pain to go again about my eczema, but this being said I intend to go this week as it is rather painful on my hands now. In the meantime I’ve been using this hand cream as it’s really thick, moisturising and lasts a few washes. It leaves my hands feeling hydrated straight away and sinks into the skin after just a few rubs. I love this hand cream so much and recommend it to everyone when they tell me they need to find a new one to try! Go read about it in my two previous favourites (linked above) if you wish to know more about it.

  • Nina EDT by Nina Ricci.

This was a Christmas present from my brother back in 2011 and I’d always wanted to purchase it for myself, not even telling him this! He’s awesome when it comes to buying presents and always knows what to get people, without even asking. He always buys me and my Mom perfume, as he knows how girly we are at heart. Anyhoo I’ve mentioned this in a previous favourites post aggges ago, as well as in a huge perfume post I also wrote a while back (which needs updating!). But this perfume isn’t strong due to it being an EDT, which I like and due to it I’ve been wearing it for work as well as if I’m quickly popping out the house. I just like it’s citrus/floral scents and it’s perfect for if I don’t want to smell really strong of said perfume. As well as this I’ve been getting headaches from some of the my stronger perfumes lately so I’ve been wearing my EDT scents a lot more.

  • Bath & Body Works PocketBac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Pink Sugarplum.

I love PocketBac’s and like most English people and beauty bloggers alike, I’m still wanting to know WHY we don’t have these in the UK yet! Thankfully though, we do have eBay and if you search long and hard enough, you’ll find these cheap enough on there. I have a look every once in a while to find some good deals and was lucky enough to find this one for £2.00. It smells like a body spray or shower gel I would have used in my early teens and thus smells really fruity, I usually pop some of this one when I wake up in the morning before I head off to work, as the scent lasts for ages whilst I make my way to work. This is really soothing for the hands too as it contains Tahitian Palm Milk. I’ll be writing a review up for this at some point in the next few weeks. Sadly this is a limited edition hand gel for Christmas, but as it comes out every year, it’ll be back in a couple of months time. This just smells amazing and it keeps my hands nice and germ free, perfect!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Face Spa Face Mask.

I was supposed to mention two of these face masks but I couldn’t for the life of me find the other one, which is their Tea Tree Face Spa face mask. These are both sheet masks which you use the same as normal clay or peel off face masks and I found that they cost the same as other Montagne Jeunesse face masks, so that made me happy. Out of the two I do prefer the Dead Sea face mask. After using it my skin felt soft and somewhat tingly and cool, which I thought was really nice as the evening I used this, it was rather warm. I liked how easy they were to take out of the packet and apply to your face. But what I loved the most was how easy they were to take back off again and how it left my skin feeling. The Dead Sea mask left my skin looking great and somewhat brighter so this is something I’m definitely going to use in future before a special day or evening out. I used the Tea Tree mask when I was breaking out quite a little and for a few days after using it, I didn’t break out but after that I sadly did, but I wasn’t that bothered as the few days after using the mask I was spot free so it’s clearly something you would use a few days before an important event, evening, etc.

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising Lip Balm.

I hadn’t used this lip balm for a while as I didn’t feel my lips were becoming dry and chapped enough during the spring and summer months to keep it in my handbag… However now the weather has suddenly started to get chillier I have needed to keep this in my handbag, as well as next to my bed. I use this at work quite a lot and when I’m out and about as it’s just a great pick me up if my lips are feeling a little sore, and best of all it makes a great base underneath a lipstick. I have missed using this lip balm and I really need to stock up on the again as I usually like to have two at a time and at the moment I only have this one. I mentioned this lip balm this time last year in my September Favourites. Go and have a read if you fancy a blast from the past.

  • Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon.

I remember when this lipstick was first announced to come out for the summer and how all the beauty bloggers were raving about them. I saw the swatches for this shade and decided I needed it in my life. Sadly when I first bought this I wore it for two days straight and then never again… That was back in May/June… I thought the shade was just a lighter version of Revlon’s Lip Butter in Candy Apple (which I own) and felt like I had wasted my money. However since the start of September and working in my store, I’ve been wearing this for quite a few shifts at work. It glides on beautifully and looks really nice. I’ve had a few comments on it by customers, one even asked what shade it was and where she could buy it from, bless her. ^_^ I love the Lip Butter’s by Revlon and I really want more of them! Right now I have my eyes on Pink Lemonade, which I might treat myself to when I go shopping with my friend Poppy in a few weeks.

  • Illamasqua Lipstick in Magnetism.

As you may have seen, I recently reviewed this lipstick, which also made an appearance in my October Favourites last year. Like Wild Watermelon, I’ve been wearing this lipstick at work since I started working in the new store, not as much mind due to this being a dark raspberry shade. I have however worn it out quite a bit when I’ve been going to see my boyfriend, going out with parents and friends and even if I have the odd errand or appointment. This lipstick is perfect for autumn due to it being a berry shade and as it isn’t drying, I don’t have to worry that after a long day at work or out and about that I’ll come home with more chapped lips than what I left the house with. It’s such a lovely lipstick and I’m glad Illamasqua decided to keep it as a permanent shade in their collection. I love using this as it’s my lazy dupe of Rebel, which I shall be wearing more of now we’ve finally hit the autumn season.

So those were my favourite products for September!
