Black Milk Clothing x Pokemon 2.0

Back in February Black Milk Clothing announced that they would be bringing out a second Pokemon collection and I was SO excited for this! I counted down the days and watching their Instagram page like a hawk to find out what designs were coming out, as well as WHEN the collection would drop… Which dropped at the start of March!

I made sure to get my order in there and then for the goodies I wanted and I didn’t miss out on anything I wanted. However, I do regret not ordering a couple of items in particular that I’ll be sharing with you all in today’s post.

Considering I’d shown you all the first Pokemon collection from Black Milk Clothing and the Animal Crossing collection, I thought it would be nice to show you the pieces I snagged from the second Pokemon collection! I only grabbed two pieces, but they’re both so pretty and I’m really excited to rock them this summer. 🙂

Just a heads up, both of the pieces I picked up are limited, which means they’re limited edition and may not be available anymore to buy, OR might have certain sizes left in stock. I will address this when I talk about each item.

Another thing to bear in mind/address is that I always pick up a size L in my Black Milk Clothing pieces as they’re the fit I like. They’re not tight and they have a little bit of give with them, which is perfect for me. 🙂

For Pokemon 2.0 I personally didn’t feel that this collection was as strong as the first collection, but this being said there were aspects of 2.0 that really stood out and certain things the first collection could have done with. Examples of this being the evil tee dresses. There were SO MANY that came out of 2.0 and they were all gorgeous! I picked one up myself, but I could have easily picked up two. Alongside this three blazers came out with gorgeous print inside. I really loved these, but I’d have never worn them.

Some of the pieces were very hit and miss however and quite frankly I was incredibly disappointed by the fire starters print Black Milk Clothing had created and put out there. It looks like something anyone could photoshop and work on themselves at home. The fire starters are my favourite starter Pokemon so I was really excited to see what Black Milk Clothing would bring out. I wasn’t the only person to complain about this issue. Thankfully there was another design they revealed that I fell in love with!

  • Fire Type Floral Cuffed Shorts (link)

I recently bought my first pair of cuffed shorts from Black Milk Clothing (Isabelle Gingham Cuffed Shorts) and they’re so bloody comfortable! I’m looking forward to wearing them with tights underneath and a cute t-shirt or sweater. I fell in love with the floral fire starters design as it has that 60’s/70’s feel to it that I really do love! Plus I’ve started to bring more pink colours into my wardrobe, which these shorts are perfect for. The fire starters are dotted all over the design, with my two favourites Cyndaquil and Fennekin featuring in perfect places on my pair of shorts! I honestly can’t wait to wear these during the warmer months, especially as lockdown begins to lift again.

  • Psychic Type Longline Evil Tee Dress (link)

This is by far my favourite piece that came out of the Pokemon 2.0 collection and I couldn’t wait to snag it for myself! I bought my first evil tee dress when the Halloween collection came out in 2020 when I picked up the Ghosties Longline Evil Tee Dress and since then I really wanted to grab another one, so this Psychic Type version of the dress was good timing. It’s a gorgeous dark purple colour with lighter purple and blue swirls all over, as well as psychic Pokemon including – Mew, Mewtwo, Espeon, Slowpoke, Starmie, Indeedee, Ralts, Woobat, Meowstic, Espurr, Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Rapidash. It’s just gorgeous and would definitely be a conversation starter when out and about. I don’t know when I’ll wear this next, but I’m planning to rock it soon whenever me and Dane or friends go out and about.

Those are the only two pieces I picked up from the Pokemon 2.0 collection. I mentioned earlier regretting not picking up a few pieces, one of them being the Eeveelution Camo Cargo Pants and the piece mentioned below…

If there is one piece I regret not buying it’s the Snorlax Snoozing Snuggle Suit. I’d bought the Pokemon Dreams Snuggle Suit not long before the second Pokemon collection was announced and I have fallen in love with it. I wear if often, including after work and on days off. I didn’t quite realise how much I was going to fall in love with Black Milk Clothing’s snuggle suits and due to that I regret not buying the Snorlax variant too. I have reached out to ask Black Milk Clothing if this will ever come back in stock and they said maybe at the end of the year. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled on eBay and Depop in the future for this to show up. Honestly I need it in my life! What I love the most is the colour of it. This is my favourite colour and whilst I’m not the biggest Snorlax fan, he is a sleepy boy and I can relate to that on a big level. 😛

So, there we have it guys! Honestly I’m so glad that Pokemon has reawakened my love of Black Milk Clothing. I’ve really started to show off my love of dressing quirky and different during the past year and it’s something I’m excited to continue doing in the future, especially with lockdown and restrictions easing!

If you’d like to check out any of the previous posts I’ve written about Black Milk Clothing collections I’ve bought, I’ll pop them below:

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Insert Coin Clothing Persona 5 Shujin Academy Varsity Jacket

This isn’t a review, not at all. I’ve just been so hyped for this jacket since it was released back in July this year and it’s taken this long for me to get hold of it. This is for various reasons which I will go into as the post goes on.

I’ve just been so excited for this jacket that I just can’t not talk about it on my blog. As regular readers and friends will know, I’m a massive fan of Persona 5 and it has fast become one of my favourite things, alongside Pokemon.

So I’ve decided to write up this post today about the Persona 5 varsity jacket by Insert Coin Clothing. I really hope you enjoy it! Also you’ll see my Morgana plushie throughout the post, because how could I not?! This is an official Persona 5 merchandise product, which I bought from YY Kawaii.

First of all you’re probably wondering why it has taken me so long to get this varsity jacket, considering I’ve wanted it so much for so long? Well I’ll definitely start off this post by going into that!

As I mentioned before the Shujin Academy varsity jacket came out in July this year and I planned to buy it not long after it came out, but at the time I was still trying to save up my monies. It had also just been mine and Dane’s anniversary and we were a little skint after that. The jacket isn’t exactly the cheapest in the world at £65. So sadly I left it and sadly long enough that it sold out.

Insert Coin assured me via Twitter that the jacket would be back in stock and to use their respawn alert system, which will basically just tell you via email when this size you want is back in stock.

A couple of months later in September I was going to EGX, a game event/convention that Insert Coin would also be at. I asked them via Twitter (this is obviously my favourite social media platform… :P) if they would have the size in stock that I wanted for the jacket and they told me they would, but it might sell quickly. Sadly when I got there on the Sunday afternoon, all sizes were gone apart from size small. I was gutted. I asked the staff if they by any chance had anymore left, which was a no. All the items at EGX were cheaper than they are on the store, so I was a tad gutted about that, I mean who doesn’t want a bargain eh?

As an apology the staff gave me LOADS of vouchers that would give me 20% off of my order. They told me to use respawn and keep my eyes peeled on the website. The jacket came back up for sale in my size but I left it. Why? I was kinda skint and wanted to just watch my money. A fortnight later the jacket came back up in my size and I went for it. I wasn’t going to wait anymore! I used my 20% voucher that they gave me at EGX and saved £13 on the jacket and therefore only paid £52!

I know, this is expensive but fuck it. I love Persona 5 and I’ve wanted a new jacket for the longest time! I love wearing coats in the autumn and winter, but at the same time I don’t. Jackets can sometimes just be so much easier, especially if you want to dress kinda stylish and show off what you’re wearing, you know?

I say I ordered the jacket, but it was actually a pre-order, which took nearly a month to arrive. The delivery time was amazing too to be honest! It was here within a day of it being shipped and it came well packaged.

I’ll pop the description about the varsity jacket from the website down below.

Information taken from Insert Coin Clothing website.

True freedom lies within the constructs of society – or so they say at Shujin Academy…

It might be an elite prep school in Aoyama-Itchome, but Shujin Academy is also the home of the notorious Phantom Thieves. Show you’re part of something special with this exclusive and official varsity-style jacket…

I wore the jacket around the house over the weekend to get used to it, as well as out when I went to see my mom and for a food shop. I love it so damn much! I love knowing the meaning behind the S on my right hand side, as well as the Shujin Academy logo on my left hand side. The lining on the inside is one of my favourite things, which is the Shujin Academy tartan, which I adore so much! It really does stand out and make this jacket perfect to me. The buttons are also red, which really stand out on the black and white of the jacket. It’s basically a varsity jacket version of the blazer the students wear.

Like all varsity jackets (well normal ones anyway!) you get your two pockets BUT this has a cute little pocket on my left hand side, which I really like! It’ll be perfect to keep my iPod, train tickets and even my car keys in for when I’m heading into work.

The jacket itself feels amazing quality and you can tell that the thought process into the design has been so perfected to ensure the jacket is just how Insert Coin wanted it! One thing I noticed with it when taking it out of the packaging is how heavy it is. It’s quite a heavy jacket when you hold it, but when wearing it I wouldn’t say it feels weighty or like it’s pulling you down. If anything it’s incredibly snug and comfortable to wear.

The inside of the sleeves are like a cotton material, but like a silk sort of material. I’m not sure if I like this 100% or not, but to be fair when I wore it out it wasn’t an issue and if anything was comfortable and meant I wasn’t overly warm.

I ordered a size L as I wanted it to be baggy, but not TOO baggy. It fits perfectly and I really love the fit and style of it. It’s definitely not a girly jacket and not something you can dress up to look feminine. Hell yeah I’ll wear it with dresses, just like I do with my Ohayou! Clothing varsity jackets.

I think the only issues I have with this jacket are the “new” but strong scent it has. It was getting so bad that it caused me to feel itchy for aggges! I was about to stick it in the machine for a wash but it’s dry clean only. Fuck. It doesn’t state this on the website which is kind of annoying. I Googled loads of ways I could dry clean this myself at home, but urgh no luck. So I may end up taking this to a dry cleaners near work, just so it doesn’t smell this way anymore.

I’m not sure if it was the jacket, or me but I felt so itchy and uncomfortable when wearing this and I can only imagine it’s due to the chemicals, dyes, etc that have been used to create this jacket. I don’t mean to moan about this, but urgh so much effort to get it dry cleaned! Thank God I have one near where I work, so I can drop it off when my shift starts and pick it up either on my break or at the end of the working day before home time.

If it had of said dry clean only, I doubt it would have put me off buying it but it would have annoyed me to know I’d have to get it cleaned this way.

Either way, I LOVE this jacket and I have been so excited to wear it from day to day since it arrived. I’m wearing it for work today and I know for a fact I’ll be wearing it as much as I can, even when it’s colder weather. 😛

I’d love to pick up some more of the Persona 5 items from Insert Coin Clothing, I’ll link the items down below so you can go and check them out if you want to. I still have a couple of vouchers I can use so if I fancy a treat after Christmas… I may just get a couple of the tees. 😛

Shujin Academy Tee, JLMK! tee, Morgana tee (which I REALLY want) and NO MO RULES tee (which is currently sold out AND a tee I want!).

What do you think of the Persona 5 varsity jacket? Do you wear varsity jackets? What do you think of Insert Coin Clothing too? If you’re a gamer, you are guaranteed to find something on the website!

Until next time though, take care all and I hope you had an amazing weekend!
