Shirayukinikki – Jiji & Lily’s Bakery Glass Tumbler – Review

Today’s post is one I’ve been excited to write about and share with you all for a couple of months now, but as the item(s) I’ll be talking about today only arrived a month ago, I’ve only just had the chance to properly talk about them!

Shirayukinikki is a small business in America that I discovered in the summer through Instagram and specialises in creating lifestyle goodies and more, mostly sponsored by fan art, which is what attracted me to their Instagram page and items initially. I discovered them through their Jiji & Lily’s Bakery glass tumbler, and as someone who likes to drink their iced coffees, soft drinks, and alcohol out of a pretty glass, I kind of knew I wanted to get one (or two) some day.

Shirayukinikki does an assortment of designs, with pretty much all of the glass tumbler designs being fan art. These designs range from Pokemon, Studio Ghibli, Spy x Family, Cardcaptor Sakura, BT21, and more. Not only does Shirayukinikki sell glass tumblers, but also mugs and glass water bottles too!

When it came to placing an order, I sat on it for a while, as due to the cost of shipping from America to the UK, I didn’t feel like one glass was worth it. I contemplated ordering more glasses but left that idea too as I didn’t want to spend more money, you know?

I was sharing my love of the glass tumbler with one of my newest friends (hi Sammie!) and after she eyed up Shirayukinikki’s Instagram page and website too, she fell in love with the Anya Forger glass tumbler! So with that, we placed a shared order together. Finally, we were both getting cute glasses for our drinks!

We ordered our glasses on the 24th July, but they didn’t arrive in the UK until 14th September. We were both aware at the time of a 2-3 week wait when ordering the glasses, but after having a nose on the website three weeks later, we noticed the waiting time differed from previously. It now stated 3-6 weeks which confused us both a little. Since then I have checked both glass listings and they both have different wait times, with Anya Forger having 2-3 weeks, but Jiji & Lily’s Bakery having 3-6 weeks.

We weren’t bothered by the waiting time, as long as got our glasses after 6 weeks, which we pretty much did as 6 weeks later on the 4th September our glasses were shipped! Just be mindful of the waiting times, as like us, they may differ if you order more than one item!

One thing I want to add here is around the 4th September I dropped Shirayukinikki a message on Instagram to ask about an update on our order, as I knew they were due to go on holiday, and quite frankly I didn’t want to wait anymore for an update. Shirayukinikki’s customer service was great and not long after messaging our order was set as shipped and a tracking number supplied!

Prior to ordering our glasses I was wary Shirayukinikki had offered frosted versions too, which I enquired about for if I wanted to order a glass in the future. At the time I was told no, but as I messaged Shirayukinikki anyway about updates to our order, they asked me if I wanted the frosted option still, as Shirayukinikki had remembered me asking previously! It was really lovely that they remembered me asking and I said yes to the frosted option!

Since then the frosted option is now on all glasses, which I think is a good move as with and without a drink in the glass the design is visible, which is good!

Just over a week later and our glasses arrived! I couldn’t wait to get mine out the box to check it out, give it a wash and start using it! I also had a quick look at Sammie’s to make sure it was okay, which it was!

Glasses cost $26 each, roughly £23-£24, which isn’t a bad deal for a reusable glass with your favourite characters on. Plus, you are supporting a small business! I love that Shirayukinikki ships to the UK as there are still some American small business  that don’t ship to the UK or UK shoppers have to purchase through Etsy and get charged more.

Each glass comes with a bamboo lid and a glass straw, although it does state on the listings that they come with plastic straws.

Glasses are recommend to be hand washed, although they are dishwasher and microwave safe it is not recommended as it could cause the image on the glass to slowly fade, get scratched or even bubble. When hand washing use a soft sponge and wash lightly on the design.

Glasses can also be used for hot drinks, which I may have to try at some point with my matcha latte drinks. 🙂

Anyhoo, enough of the product details and such! I’ll show them off below, with links so you can check them out!

Jiji & Lily’s Bakery 16 oz Glass Tumbler – (link)

I LOVE Kiki’s Delivery Service and Jiji is definitely one of my favourite Studio Ghibli characters. Due to the cup mainly focusing on him, Lily and bakery themes I really loved the design for a glass… And maybe a mug eventually. 😛 The images on the glass includes Jiji, Lily, an assortment of baked goods including croissants, bread, etc, the mug with a Jiji doppelganger on and more! I love using my glass for iced coffees, but as the weather gets warmer I am finding myself using it to drink squash, as well as fizzy drinks! Thanks to Sammie she confirmed to me that one glass will hold two cans of fizzy drink! 😀

Washing the glass is really simple and I only wash gently on the outside and inside, as it’s easy to clean!

Anya Forger 16 oz Glass Tumbler – (link)

Sammie was such a good egg and sent me a photo of her Anya glass so I could show it off to you guys today! I’ve also added a picture from Shirayukinikki’s store so you can see some more photos of it too, which show it off in the frosted design. Sammie went for the standard glass (which is no longer available) which I really like! The designs shows up a lot more when there’s a drink in the glass, as you can see from Sammie’s photo. The Anya Forger glass of course has lots of different faces of Anya, as well as a bag of peanuts/peanuts, her chimera doll, and Bond Forger the dog!

Overall I absolutely adore our glasses and since getting it I’ve been using it constantly! If anything, I need to stop using it so much as I’m neglecting my Pokemon Café glass now. 😛

I know both me and Sammie have discussed which glasses and other items Shirayukinikki offers that we’d love to get in the future! Some of mine are as listed below:

February Wish List ’21

I honestly can’t quite believe it’s February already… 2021 is already flying by and it only feels like yesterday that I was going back to work after the Christmas/New Year break!

I have to be honest here and say, I am on a spending ban! I spent a lot of money before Christmas and I suffered during January due to it. It’s not all bad though as it means I can save up for stuff in the future, especially things to do with my house!

Some of the items on this months wish list I’ve pre-ordered, with one item arriving already which is pretty good! Seriously though guys I’m on a MAJOR spending ban this morning and I might even do it going into March as well, just to try and save lots of money to do stuff to the house. 🙂

  • Kittynaut Soot Sprite Enamel Pin (link)

I really love Kittynaut’s designs, especially the Studio Ghibli related ones. I really like the look of this Soot Sprite enamel pin, which reminds me of a collar pin. The Soot Sprites look so cute and happy with their sugar candy! I’d love to wear this with a shirt on the colour to add something different, or maybe even on a sweater on the neck. I’m definitely going to look in ordering this via their Etsy in the future!

  • Razer Base Station V2 Chroma in Quartz (link)

I mentioned in my monthly favourites that I recently picked up the Razer Kraken Quartz gaming headset and I LOVE IT! I don’t just use it for work, I use it for personal too whilst playing games with friends, D&D sessions with friends and also phone calls with friends via Discord and Messenger. At the moment when I’m not using the headset I wrap the cord around it and keep it on our shared desk. In the future I would really love the Razer Base Station in the matching Quartz colour as not only would it be able to hold my headset on the desk, but it also looks like you can have some USB items plugged into it too, due to the ports at the base. This isn’t something I would buy soon, I’d prefer to wait a while, especially if I can get my own desk in the future.

  • Persona 5 Strikers PS4 (link)

To think when I was in Japan in January 2020, this game was coming out late February 2020. There were no talks of it coming out in the UK and people worried we wouldn’t get it. I knew we would deep down and it’s FINALLY coming out in the UK at the end of February! I made sure to get my copy pre-ordered so I don’t miss out. I pre-ordered from Gamersheek as they have the BEST game prices out there! Plus, if you see a game cheaper elsewhere, but would prefer to buy with Gamersheek, they’ll match the price for you. They’re my go to for games in 2021! Honestly I am really excited for Persona 5 Strikers, but I am disappointed the name “Persona 5 Scramble” wasn’t kept like how it is overseas. If you’d like to read a review all about Gamersheek, make sure to check out this post from last year where I spoke about Persona 5: Royal.

  • MartithArt Foxtober Throw Blanket (link)

I’ve had my eye on this blanket for quite a while now and I’d still love to get it but meh spending ban. 😛 I love foxes and I love being snuggly and warm so this blanket is perfect for me. MartithArt appears to have created this during “Foxtober” which I can assume is a drawing challenge for October. The designs are gorgeous and the size of this blanket looks like it would be perfect to pop on my lap whilst working at the desk to keep snug and warm. I’ll definitely pick this up in the future, but not yet due to spending ban.

  • Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Kōrin Kimono Ver. (link)

This is an Nendoroid figure I pre ordered MONTHS ago through YY Kawaii (yykawaiimerch1 on Instagram). I saw it and I knew I had to have it quite frankly. We only own one Miku Nendoroid figure, which is the snowboarding Miku from back in 2016. As Dane is a snowboarder (and I’ve done a little!) we knew we had to get her! However, with the kimono version she just looked so pretty and it sort of reminded us of our Japan holiday too from January 2020. I’m already unsure where she’s going to go once she arrived, but I’m tempted to have her in the office so I can look at her whilst I work. She’s due to arrive in February! Would you guys like to see her reviewed on my blog or Instagram page? Let me know. 🙂

  • Pin & Tonic Sakura Fox T-Shirt (link)

Pin & Tonic is an independent UK artist/store that I’ve always seen floating around social media in the past and eventually followed. I recently got wind of their fox and tanuki/raccoon designs AND a sale on their store, so I went to check them out. I stumbled across this sakura fox t-shirt and have fallen in love with the design! It’s the perfect mixture of my favourite animal, my favourite tree and sakura reminding me of Japan too! I would love to pick this up in the future, as it would be lovely to wear. The colours work so well!

  • Bravissimo Flora Bralette (link)

This is the final item on my monthly wish list and one item that has arrived. This is by far one of my favourite purchases of 2021 so far (spoiler alert, I’ll be talking about it in February’s favourites!) as it’s the most comfortable bra I’ve ever bought! I bought quite a few new bras at the start of 2021 as I knew I was due some new ones, I opted for an old favourite, as well as a new design. I love both, but since working from home wearing a bra all the time is something I’ve… Not… Done… Just being honest! I’ll be honest, I’m not a small busted lady anymore so sometimes my boobs just need a break from the wire, especially if I’m sat at my desk all day and potentially slumping and uncomfortable etc. I’d heard nothing but good things about non-wired bras, but never understood the appeal. I decided to get one myself after seeing good reviews about the flora bralette from Bravissimo. It’s amazing and when payday comes at the end of the month I will be buying another. I’m not going to talk too much here as I want to talk more about it at the end of the month. 🙂

Anyhoo, those are the items I have on my wish list for February! As I’ve said various times throughout this post, I am on a spending ban this month so I’m going to be good. I may even continue it into March, but that won’t stop me from creating another wish list next month! 😀

What do you all have on your wish lists for February? Make sure to let me know in the comments below!

Until next time all, take care and stay safe. 🙂

Jenni Illustrations – Haul

August is the month of a very much needed spending ban… Which may go into September as well to be honest with you so I can try and save up some more monies ready for when Christmas is upon us.

I’ve mentioned before on my blog how during lock down I have saved and spent a lot of money on things I’d had my eye on for ages but never had the spare monies or urge to buy. I decided to on some things and have had zero regrets, even if my bank account doesn’t agree. One of the independent artists I finally took the plunge and bought from is Jenni Illustrations.

Jenni Illustrations is a Australian kawaii illustrator/designer who draws all sorts of designs from cute animals, some Ghibli inspired characters and even some of her own original characters, which I adore.

Jenni had recently closed her store and reopened it, just in time for me to make some purchases. I bought three things in total and I am here to show them off to you today in a little haul post. I really hope you enjoy it, as I’m so excited to share the goodies with you! 😀

As I mentioned before I picked up three items, a print, a sticker and of course an enamel pin.

  • Soda Dog Sticker (link)

One of Jenni’s original characters that I have fallen in love with is her Soda Dog design. Not only do I love dogs but the colour of the soda being blue reminds me of Japanese ramune, which is what I think it’s actually meant to be. The sticker is a decent size and bigger than I thought it was going to be, as well as amazing quality. On the store it does tell you the size and about the quality, but I didn’t check to see how big or small it would be as I didn’t mind either way. 🙂

As you can see the design is of a soda bottle with some blue soda inside, a red lid and Soda Dog as the mascot on the label. There is some Japanese on either sides of the bottle too, which in all honesty I cannot read. I tried to see if the Google Translate app on my phone could help, but the only bit it could translate was the part on the left hand side which read “Soda Dog”. It struggled with the part on the right, but kept trying to say inu which I knew was wrong. After a lot of playing around with Google Translate I worked out that it says, “ramune”. Which makes sense! The Soda Dog design is so adorable, but I want to go into more detail about him when I talk about the enamel pin I picked up next.

So far I’ve not stuck my sticker to anything, as you can see. Instead I’ve stuck him on the side of my plushie bookcase.

This sticker cost $5.00 AUS, or £2.69 which I think is really decent for a sticker of this size and quality.

  • Soda Dog Enamel Pin (link)

This is where I’m going to talk more about the Soda Dog design itself as I can’t not talk about it! I mean, look at it. 😀 Soda Dog is a little white puppy, but the bottom half of his body is blue ramune soda! He has a little red bottle top on his head, a floppy ear in the shape of a heart and massive pink cheeks. Oh and a red collar to match his hat red bottle top! This Soda Dog is of course supposed to be a bottle of ramune which has almost been finished and I think it’s such an amazing idea. When I saw that Jenni had an enamel pin design of this cute boy, I KNEW I had to buy it!

The enamel pin itself is really good quality! It’s on a gold enamel and has one back. The enamel pin itself cost $14.00 AUS, which is £7.54. I think this is an incredibly reasonable price for an enamel pin and I plan to buy more in the future from Jenni, which I’ll be showing at the end of this post.

  • Kiki A6 Print (link)

First things first, at the time of me writing this post this print is currently sold out… I hope it comes back into stock because the Ghibli designs Jenni does are gorgeous! I’ve always liked Kiki’s Delivery Service, but I especially feel since my Japan trip in January that I really do love it. Japan especially love it, so whenever you go into a Ghibli store (or at least one that sells Ghibli goods) there will always be plenty of Kiki’s Delivery Service items to choose from. I actually regret not buying more. Before my trip to Japan I had my eye on this print, I love so much about it. The one thing I always love about Jenni’s designs is the eyes. They’re so three dimensional and gorgeous, I could stare at them for ages.

As you can see from the photo, it’s a design of Kiki holding Jiji, the overall design is adorable and it really brings joy to my day whenever I walk past it in the bedroom. Like the sticker, I have stuck it onto the side of my plushie bookcase. I would love to see more character from Ghibli movies drawn similar. I feel like Jenni did one of Chihiro from Spirited Away ages ago, but I can’t remember…

This print cost $8.00 AUS, which works out to £4.31, which is reasonable! If anything, I would have loved the option of having a bigger print. I would have definitely gone for an A5, maybe at a push an A4 as I honestly love this design.

So, those are all the goodies I picked up on my first order from Jenni Illustrations.

Due to COVID the items took just under a month to arrive to me. I have to be honest here and say I didn’t think shipping was cheap at £9.69, almost £10 for shipping from AUS to the UK. I didn’t care about paying the costs at the time as I really wanted the items but next time I make an order I’ll feel like I need to order plenty to make the shipping worth it.

This was a MASSIVE treat for me as I’d wanted these items for a while, but if you think the shipping is a little on the high side for you, it might be worth making an order with a friend whose also after these items and you can split the shipping fee.

Overall I am in love with my Jenni Illustration goodies and I’ll definitely buy from her store again and plan to in the future! I already have loads of items on my wish list that I plan to buy in the future and wanted to share them with you below.

Blue Clues Sticker Sheet – I loved Blue’s Clues growing up so these would be a nostalgic trip for me!

Animal Crossing Sticker Sheets – I don’t need to explain why I want these, but I do want them all!

Froggy Chair Sticker – I explained on my July Wish List ’20 post why I want this sticker.

JiJi and Lily 6×6″ Print – I would love this print to go with my Kiki print.

Dragon 6×6′ Print – This print shouts Haku from Spirited Away, who in turn is my favourite Ghibli character. I need this print in my life!

Lucky Kat Washi Tape – Whilst in Japan I discovered a love for washi tape. I would love to add this lucky cat washi tape my collection.

Chester Pin and Fern the Fox Pin – These are two more of the original characters that Jenni has drawn. Chester is a cute little red panda and Fern is an adorable fox. These are two of my favourite animals… What’s not to love, eh?

Soda Dog Keychain – I actually regret not ordering this at the time of my order, as I would have loved to add this onto one of my bags, or a set of keys. I definitely plan on adding him to my basket next time I make an order with Jenni Illustrations.

So there you have it guys! What do you think of Jenni Illustrations? Which item(s) are your favourite that I picked up. Plus, have you bought anything from Jenni Illustrations yourself? If you haven’t yet and plan to, let me know what you’re going to buy!

OH and don’t forget to check out Jenni Illustration over on Instagram too, where she shares new designs all the time. 🙂

Until next time all, take care stay safe and see you next time! 😀
