Guys, it is officially December and you know what that means? CHRISTMAS IS LOOMING! 😛 This year has flew to be honest, especially the past 8 months since I started my new job. 2019 has been good and I’m feeling pretty confident that 2019 is going to finish with a bang! 😀

This is the last “official” monthly favourites of 2019 and I’m feeling a tad bit sad… Until the end of December when I do my 2019 favourites post… 😛

Anyhoo, I’m not going to dwindle too much with talking about the end of 2019… I haven’t even cracked open the first door of my advent calendar yet! 😛

  • Colgate Plax Gentle Care Extra Mild Mouthwash.

I’ve finally found a mouthwash I’m really enjoying using and if anything it feels like a treasure to use now instead of a chore. It’s not strong at all (hence it being called extra mild) which is really nice and it still leaves a lovely fresh feeling and scent behind. It’s not expensive either at less than £2 a bottle! I use this twice a day, after lunch and dinner. I wish they sold this in smaller bottles, just so I can keep a bottle in my bag, as well as at work. I do however, have a little mini travel Listerine bottle that I use instead, which is handy.

  • Gucci Envy Me EDT.

I forgot just got much I LOVE this perfume and it’s only from using it quite a bit throughout November that I rekindled my love for it. It’s a massive bottle so it’s handy just for taking in my backpack during the week when I’m going back and forth from work. It’s a light EDT which is handy if I don’t want anything heavy on. I have fond memories from my teenage years of this perfume, so it’s always nostalgic to wear. 🙂

  • Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

Since I started to get my nails painted with gel by my nail technician I’ve been using my cuticle cream/oil religiously! I use my handy cuticle oil before I go out in the morning for work and before I go to bed. I keep my cuticle cream on me to use when I’m out and about as well as at work. I really love this cuticle cream as it’s thick, a little goes a long way and I really do feel like it’s working when I use it. It also has a gorgeous lemon scent to it!

  • Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Collection.

I recently decided to treat myself to something from Boots using my Advantage Card points and opted for something beauty related… Fenty to be exact! I’ve never given Fenty a go and I’ve always heard nothing but good, so I was really excited to give these lip glosses a go! So far I LOVE them and have really enjoyed wearing the different shades throughout the week at work. I especially love the pink shade Pretty Please and the clear holo shade Confetti. These will be perfect to wear during Christmas parties too, as well as Christmas and New Year… Not to mention during my trip in Japan! I might write a review on these soon, but PLEASE let me know in the comments if you would like to see this. 🙂

  • Beauticology Pink Lemonade Shower Crème.

I picked up this shower cream quite a while ago now but I’ve only just got the chance to use it. Beauticology is a really good brand and one I have bought on and off in the past. I’ve never tried their shower creams before so was excited to give this one a go! It’s very fresh scented and really does perk me up in the mornings when I use it. The scent isn’t sickly sweet and is really subtle, which I enjoy. This also foams up lovely and a little goes a long way! I’d definitely like to give the other fragrances a try/

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – His Dark Materials.

I’ve really enjoyed watching this show with Dane on a Sunday evening. We go upstairs about 7.45pm and get ready and into bed ready for 8pm when this starts! It’s not something we do every Sunday night, but it’s definitely something I look forward to over the weekend! I’ve not read the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman but Dane has, so he was really excited for this show to start on BBC One. I started to watch it with him and really have become engrossed in it! It’s got a massive all star cast in there too, which is fab! My favourite character by far is Pan. 😀

Favourite Movie – The Irishman.

I know this only came out on Netflix towards the end of November, but it’s probably the only film I watched in November… It was definitely worth watching too! It’s over 3 hours long for fuck sake! If you love Goodfellas, then you will love this film. It’s by the same director (Martin Scorsese) and is based on a true story about a man who was an alleged hitman. Yes, it’s a long film but it is so well done that it’s definitely worth watching, whether it be on your own or with a couple of friends/family members. It’s very detailed so be prepared for that. If you take your eyes away for a moment, you may miss something important.

Favourite Book… Podcast – My Dad Wrote A Porno.

This is a podcast I have fast found myself listening to again and this time, I don’t regret it… I got really bored of it in season 3 the first time I started listening to it earlier this year and to be honest I was pretty sad I jacked it in and stopped listening. I use Spotify to listen to music whilst I’m at work and discovered that podcasts is a thing you can listen to on there. SO when I found out My Dad Wrote A Porno was on there, I decided to start from the beginning and give it a listen! I’m not at the start of season 4 and I am loving it! The only problem is that I find myself chuckling away quietly at my desk… Oops! 😛 I definitely recommend giving this a listen if you have a filthy sense of humour like I do and don’t get embarrassed easily.

Favourite Music – Persona 5 Remastered – Collosia.

As many readers (if not all!) of my blog will know, I LOVE Persona 5 and have done since 2017 when it came out in the UK. Since then I have met friends due to that mutual love and discovered a game series that I love just as much as Pokemon. Recently my friend Amy (Writing into the Ether) has started playing Persona 5 and that makes me so damn happy! When I got home after meeting up with her I found the artist Collosia over on Spotify and since then I’ve been listening to their remastered versions of the soundtrack, which are just so damn good! I can’t wait to listen to them when driving to and from work, as well as when I’m travelling to and from Japan! 😀 My favourite track from the original soundtrack/the game is “Beneath the Mask”, so I just had to share this one with you all above.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Shield.

Of course I had to mention Pokemon on my favourites this month! I haven’t finished the game yet but I’ve played most of it and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I decided to opt for Pokemon Shield, whilst Dane went for Pokemon Sword. The game is so much fun to play and it’s great the way you can catch Pokemon out in the wild, however there isn’t all that much in terms of story, which is the biggest let down of them all. It just feels like you get a tiny bit of story about your rivals, the story behind the two legendary Pokemon and that’s it… Bit shit really when you look back at stuff like Team Rocket… As much as I love the game, I just want the old school games back like gen 1 and 2. 😦

So yes those are my favourites from November! They’re going up really late tonight due to just how busy I was this weekend. I was busy seeing and hanging out with friends, with some Christmas shopping in between too. I’ve also put up my Christmas tree at home and watched the odd Christmas film.

What were you guys loving throughout November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below as well as what you’re excited for throughout this month! It doesn’t need to be Christmas related either. 🙂

Until next time all, take care and I hope your day has been Christmassy already!

Spring Tag!

Image taken from weheartit.com

I love spring, it means the weather is beginning to get warmer and lighter nights are just around the corner. Since getting back from my holiday I’ve been lusting after warmer weather and not needing to layer up and wear my parka. I just want to wear my pleather jacket again, as well as my dresses and playsuits.

It’s officially spring today! So what better way to start off spring 2015 on my blog, than a spring tag!

1. Favorite spring nail polish?
I like my cream and pastel shades for spring, and I’ll definitely be wearing my Models Own Speckled polishes (post about them here). They remind me of Mini Eggs, which I love. As well as that I’ll probably be wearing my Illamasqua Raindrops (review here) polish as I love that shade for spring too.

2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?
I’m swaying towards pinks this spring, mostly nude pinks as I’ve recently got into wearing this shade and I really like it. As well as that I always like to rock a hot pink shade too. You can’t go wrong with pink! One I’ll probably wear a lot is Miley Cyrus’ Viva Glam lipstick (review here).

3. Show us your favorite spring dress!
I have so many favourites! I love my Dr. Martens dress (lookbook here), as well as my Miss Selfridge playsuit which I wore on holiday and will continue to wear in the spring and summer in the UK. Here are some pictures of both dresses…

4. What’s your favorite flower?
I don’t reallllly like flowers to be honest and I put this down to having hayfever… But if I had to choose one it would probably be sunflowers and lilies.

5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?
Favourite spring scarf is definitely my white skull one that I bought three years ago (wow time flies!). It’s light and perfect to wear with dresses in the spring and summer.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)
I am really liking the look of the 70’s trend, as I find the style that was out then was pretty nice and looked lovely. When it comes to make up and hair, I don’t really bother with those trends as I just wear my hair how I want to, and same with my lipstick too. Clothes wise, I am in desperate need of a make over! So I may go down the 70’s route!

Image taken from weheartit.com

7. Favorite spring candle?
I’ll burn anything throughout the year, but I think out of all my Yankee Candles the candles I’ll be burning most throughout spring will be Sweet Strawberry and Sweet Apple (post about them both here). They’re perfect for spring and smell delicious too. They’re simple too which is great for spring.

8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?
Ooo this is a tough one as I have so many I like to wear throughout the year. I think a few that I really like are Paul Smith Rose, DKNY MYNY, Marc Jacobs Oh Lola, Gucci Envy Me, and Lancome Miracle. They’re all light and floral and citrus scents which work lovely for spring.

9. What is spring like where you live?
Erm… It depends I suppose but usually wet! It rains a lot in the UK as it is, but it seems to rain more during spring than any other month. The thing I like about spring in the UK is how great it is to go into the countryside and awe over all the baby animals, as well as take in the sights. I especially love seeing cherry blossom trees.

Image taken from weheartit.com

10. What’s your favorite thing about spring?
Baby animals and cherry blossom trees for sure! They just both make me happy, especially when it comes to photography too. I also like how lighter nights come around and you can go out in the evenings with friends, family, partner, etc and just enjoy yourselves for longer. It’s also nice how it gets a little warmer out too.

11. Are you a spring cleaner?
Sometimes, not like hardcore but I would like to do a lot of spring cleaning this year. I’ve done a little already with my clothes, but I need to do some more. There’s probably loads of junk I could chuck away out of my room!

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
We don’t have spring break in the UK, but we do get Easter break. I’m not at uni during this time for two weeks and throughout that time I’ll be working, as well as doing my uni work. I may also use it to do my spring cleaning and have a bit of me and blog time. I won’t have any holiday’s coming up, but I would love to go out for a day somewhere nice for my boyfriends birthday, which is just after the Easter holiday’s.

So that was the Spring Tag! I really enjoyed doing it, and I hope my readers have enjoyed reading it.

Who do I tag? EVERYONE! If you take part in this tag, please link me back to said post via a comment so I can come and read it.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all have a good weekend.

The Fragrance Shop Discover Club 5th Edition – Review*

This post and review is a rather exciting one… It’s my first review to have a * next to it. Yep, this is my first product sent to review and boy is it amazing and as the title reads, it’s The Fragrance Shop Discover Club 5th Edition*.

I was asked by the lovely Steph at Sparkle PR to review this and I gladly accepted! I love reviewing things and I also love perfume, so this was just my ideal first product to review on my blog.

I test ran the Discovery Club box over a week and over the week I really couldn’t wait to tell you all about this! First of all I shall talk about the box itself and what it’s all about and then I shall go onto the perfumes for both women and men that I received in my Discover Box!

So, without further ado, let’s get on with this review, which I warn you is going to be VERY long, but well worth a read!

DSC_0011

The Discovery Box has been available for a year now, this being the 5th box. Boxes cost £5 each and you receive a new box every quarter, which you can cancel receiving at any time!

Inside the box you usually receive 5 perfume samples for both men and women, but with box number 5, you will receive 9! As well as that you also receive a booklet with some further information about the Discover Club, as well as vouchers for each perfume inside of the box itself. The vouchers are all worth £5, so with 9 samples you have £45 worth of savings in there!

So for £5 a box, could it get any better?!

So onto what samples are in the 5th Edition, I know I pretty much love them all.

DSC_0012

DSC_0013

This box is called the “Christmas Classics Box” and boy did they put in some classics! I love this box and it contains one perfume I own, one I have wanted since the day it came out, two I own in their EDP versions and some I have smelt in the past and thought about buying in the future, but as of yet, never have.

As I mentioned, there are 9 samples in this box, 6 are for women and 3 are for men so he can have something too! As well as that they’re all EDT scents, which makes a pleasant change for myself, as a majority of my perfumes are infact EDP’s. It was a real treat trying out all the scents in this box over a week and I rather liked the males ones on my boyfriend too.

For women you have:

Jean Paul Gaultier – ”Classique”
Nina Ricci – Nina
Gucci – Gucci Guilty
Thierry Mugler – Angel
Thierry Mugler – Alien
Givenchy – Very Irrésistible

For men you have:

HUGO BOSS – HUGO MAN
HUGO BOSS – BOSS BOTTLED
Issey Miyake – L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme

Now there are a hell of a lot of samples for me to talk about here, but I’m going to try and keep each one as short as possible, but at the same time making sure to talk about everything.

Female perfume samples:

Jean Paul Gaultier – ”Classique”

Launched in 1993, Classique has become a true icon in the fragrance world. The supremely seductive oriental floral fragrance pays homage to the beauty of women with its corset inspired design. A sweet and bold EDT.

An old friend of mine used to own this and before a night out I gave it a spritz on my neck and I can tell you the scent lasted all night, which impressed me seeing as this perfume is an EDT. It’s a very warm scent and something I’d personally only use during the autumn and winter months. As well as warm, it is somewhat musky and this is down to its base notes containing vanilla and amber. It’s a very grown up and seductive perfume, one to definitely use for Valentine’s Day or a romantic evening. I have contemplated buying this in the past but never made the plunge, maybe soon I will.

Nina Ricci – Nina

A magical scent captured inside a glass apple. Nina offers charm and enchantment with a dash of seduction in what is a fresh floral fruity fragrance.

A few Christmases ago, my brother actually bought me a 30ml size of this and I still own it, even though it is running out! This is a beautiful light perfume and perfect for anyone who doesn’t like anything heavy, but wants something that will stand out. I find that the bottle for this is misleading, as whilst DKNY – Be Delicious is in an apple shape bottle and smells of apples, this doesn’t in my opinion. This being said it does contain red toffee apple in its heart notes but alongside that there are also some lemon and lime top notes to give it a slight zesty scent. What makes this perfume different from Be Delicious is the base notes, which contain cotton musk to give it a slight musky smell, but at the same time this keeps its citrus scents. It’s a beautiful perfume and I can definitely see me buying this again and with a 30ml bottle costing less than £30.00 (£27.99) it’s well worth buying!

Gucci – Gucci Guilty

Gucci takes as a catalyst its iconic entwined G’s and brings us a heroine who regards this emblem as an incitement to subvert. For this most contemporary of rebels, Gucci is the brand of sex and power. In Gucci Guilty, this woman discovers the very scent of defiance.

I have wanted this perfume ever since it came out! Alongside Thierry Mugler and Chanel, Gucci is next to them in my top 3 for favourite perfumes. I smelt this when it first came out and eventually over time whenever I have been near a Gucci counter I have looked at this perfume and smelt it and just wanting to buy it… But I never have. This is a gorgeous floral EDT perfume, which lasts just as long as an EDP and as well as it being floral, Gucci describe this as a “modern and daring Oriental Floral” which is right up my street! The notes for this fit to the type of fragrance it is with the top notes being mandarin and pink pepper, heart notes being peach, lilac and geranium and finally the base notes being amber, patchouli, and more lilac, and geranium.  I have to say that this perfume no longer reminds me of Envy Me, but of an aftershave my boyfriend owns, so when I wore this one of the days at work last week, it just reminded me of him. This is a gorgeous scent and will have heads turning! I need to have this in my perfume collection by the end of the year.

Thierry Mugler – Angel

Angel, the first fragrance by Thierry Mugler, is a voluptuous oriental gourmand with a truly beautiful bottle resembling dazzling stars cut from a night blue sky.

This is an iconic perfume and one that either perfume lovers love, or hate. I know my friend Poppy hates it, whilst I love it! I have the EDP version of this, so to be able to try out an EDT was a nice change and in one way pleasant. An EDP can sometimes be too much, but that depends on how much you apply! This was the first fragrance by Thierry Mugler and to be honest, I don’t think he needed to bring anymore out! Although I’m glad as Alien is amazing and one of my favourites. BUT ignoring that, this is a mouth-watering perfume and contains yummy heart notes of fruit and honey and even yummier base notes of vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Angel is a scent that cannot be forgotten and is extremely unique, the perfect scent for anyone going on a first date, he’d never forget you.

Thierry Mugler – Alien

Distinctive and mysterious, yet comforting and soft. The EDT conveys passion, sensuality and the essence of absolute femininity with a rich floral woody with a magical trail for a fragrance that is truly out of this world.

Probably my all time favourite perfume, although the version I own is the EDP. Another unique smelling perfume and the second fragrance by Thierry Mugler. The EDT version of this is a lot softer than the EDP and yet lasts just as long on the skin, which was a lovely surprise. This is a citrus fragrance mixed with musk, which is really nice! The top notes contain mandarin orange and citrus, whilst heart notes and base notes contain jasmine and amber. There isn’t much I can say about this perfume, other than how much I love it already in its EDP version, as well as its EDT! This is will be perfect for summer when I just want something light to wear and with a 30ml bottle I can quickly throw it into my bag to spritz whilst out and about. Therefore I can really see me buying this with my £5 voucher! It costs £31.50 for a 30ml size and with my £5.00 voucher it’ll only cost me £26.50… Bargain, much?!

Givenchy – Very Irrésistible

A very dynamic sensual fragrance possessing the elegant floral top notes of rose and the exotic daring combination of peony and rose fantasia. A very appealing feminine scent by Givenchy.

This is probably the only women’s perfume sample in this box that I’d never smelt before until spraying the sample onto my skin. It was the first one I tried and I have to say, I really do like it. It’s a lovely light floral scent and something that can be worn whenever, whatever time of day! This contains lovely notes, top notes including star anise flower and verbena leaf, heart notes including rose garden, peony and centifolia rose, and finally base notes including more rose with passion, fantasia and emotion rose. For a floral perfume it does have some slight zesty scents in there and that’s due to the top notes. I really quite like this perfume and it’d be lovely to spritz on during the warm summer months. This is another perfume I have been contemplating buying with my £5.00 voucher as the 30ml costs £34.50 without the voucher, so with it this would only cost £29.50!

Male perfume samples:

HUGO BOSS – HUGO MAN

Fresh, sharp and extremely masculine, HUGO is about living life on your own terms with a certain irreverence. It is created not for those who go with the trend of the moment, but for those who seek a style of their own. The chunky glass bottled is topped off with a masculine metal topper, capturing a fresh, lively scent.

Although I don’t wear male perfumes, HUGO BOSS is one of my favourites on mine, alongside Paco Rabbane, Chanel and Diesel. I’ve never smelt this one before until opening the sample to give it a sniff and boy, do I want my boyfriend to pick this up! It’s a gorgeous, fresh, and very masculine smell, it’s the sort of scent that when you smell it on a man, your knees tremble! Jared Leto does the advertisements for this aftershave, which is just perfect really. 😛 But aside from that! The notes for this aftershave are lovely! Top notes contain grapefruit, green apple and mint, which quite frankly make my mouth water! Heart notes contain lavender and jasmine, which sound rather feminine and finally the base notes contain musk and pine needles. Overall this perfume sounds delicious but also smells delicious too! This would make a perfect Valentine’s Day presents for your loved one, or even a Christmas or birthday present. If my boyfriend doesn’t buy this for himself, I know I will! To me he looks gorgeous, so for him to smell like it too, is just an added bonus. 😉 This only comes in one size of 40ml, but for £26.50 a bottle it’s damn cheap, but for the money it smells beautiful!

HUGO BOSS – BOSS BOTTLED

A true male iconic fragrance that remains as popular now as its launch in 1994. The juice is fresh and sharp with a warm woody base whilst the bottle offers a sleek, uncomplicated but very masculine look.

When I was younger I was obsessed with Ryan Reynolds and so much in love with him that the only reason I smelt this back in 2011 was due to the fact that Ryan Reynolds started to do the advertising for it. It smelt lovely at the time but I prefer the NIGHT version to this one, but that’s just me. Also I’m pretty sure my boyfriend owns this and whilst it smells lovely, I prefer other aftershaves to this one. This being said it still smells gorgeous and whilst it is somewhat similar to HUGO MAN, this one is just a tad lighter. The top notes include oakmoss, bergamot, apple and lemon to give it zesty scent. Heart notes include cinnamon and mahogany to give it some warmth and finally base notes include sandalwood and oakwood, with some vanilla to give it a lift. It’s a gorgeous scent and for a 30ml bottle it costs just under £30 at £29.99! I recommend that if you like the smell of this one, to smell the NIGHT version as it smells delicious.

Issey Miyake – L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme

Since 1994, L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme has become a hallmark of sophistication in the world of fragrances. It awakens the senses with its blend of citrus, precious woods and spices. The pure, energising scent is perfect for a modern, independent man.

Top Notes – Fresh and energizing yuzu, a Japanese citron

Heart Notes – Spicy nutmeg and cinnamon

Base Notes – Woody, Masculine amber tobacco, sandalwood and vetiver

I think I’ve heard of this before in the past, but I never gave it another look as with all ignorance, I don’t recognise the name so I can’t be bothered to look at it… Plus it’s for men! The sample I got is the sport version, which isn’t mentioned in the booklet or anywhere for that matter… So I wonder if I was sent the wrong one… Even if I was it doesn’t bother me much, as my boyfriend is being given all the samples anyway. Either way this aftershave is gorgeous! It smells really fresh and reminds me of summer, which is nice of course. As I received the sport version I’ll be mentioning the notes for both and as you can see, I have already mentioned the original versions notes above. I don’t at ALL like the sound of the original and quite frankly I’m glad that I received the sport version as it smells a lot more fresh and citrus than the original, which sounds far too musky and reminds me of a hot car on a winters morning that has too many vanilla scented air fresheners… This was my childhood by the way! SO the notes for sport! Top notes include grapefruit and bergamot to give it its citrus scent, heart notes include nutmeg to give it warmth and freshness, and base notes  include vetvier which give it an elegant smell as well as character and depth. Overall I rather like this aftershave… But I still prefer HUGO MAN more!

DSC_0018

So now that I have covered all 9 samples that you receive in the 5th Edition Discover Club box, I’ll let you know which female (okay two female scents, I couldn’t pick one!) and male scents won…

Drum roll anyone?

Jean Paul Gaultier – ”Classique”, Givenchy – Very Irrésistible and HUGO BOSS – HUGO MAN

Out of all the women’s samples, “Classique” lasts the longest out of them all and reminds me of something, that I can’t quite put my finger on, probably something from my childhood! I would love to pick up a bottle of this, but right now I can’t really afford it… Which is a total shame as I have my £5 voucher! I guess I’ll have to pop in store soon and see what bargain I can get.

I couldn’t pick one and the other sample I rather liked was Very Irrésistible! I’d never smelt this before and it was a real treat to smell and try out over the week whilst I was at work. It didn’t last as long as I’d have hoped but I know if I were to keep a small 30ml bottle in my bag I’d be able to spritz this whenever I do so wish. Also I really want a new perfume for summer and I think this could be it!

Finally we have the male sample and I could only pick one! This was the first one I smelt and I don’t think anything else could compete as this just smells divine! It’s a gorgeous fresh and sexy aftershave and one I’m DYING for my boyfriend to buy! I know he said that he liked the idea of buying a new aftershave and as I have vouchers, he may as well use one. This aftershave is pretty affordable and with £5.00 knocked off, it would be a bargain he would be silly to pass up on.

So, after what seems like one of my longest reviews, what do I think of The Fragrance Shops Discover Club 5th Edition? Well I LOVE it and I really can see me subscribing to these since receiving this one.

I had thought about it a year ago when they first came out, but I never did go through with it, which I now regret, but I guess the term, “No time like the present” springs up here and as soon as the 6th Edition is released, I’ll be ordering it straight away!

If you’re interested in the Discover Club 5th Edition, or even the concept of samples in a box, then definitely click this link to head over to The Fragrance Shop’s website to tell you all about it and even order your own!

If you’re planning on getting yourself one, I suggest you do it soon as at the end of February the vouchers in the booklet run out, so I assume a new box would be coming out. But even so, you can always wait and pick up the 6th Edition if you do so wish!

So, what do you think of the Discover Club boxes? Have you ever bought any before, if so, what did you think of it? Let me know in the comments down below and if you have any questions, please ask away!

Until next time, take care all!

October Favourites

DSC_0047

Wow is it really November? I’m 24 in nearly 2 months time, how did this happen!? I’m getting old readers! Anyhoo I have a HUGE favourites post for you this month, as you can see from the image above. In total there are 11 products I’ll be talking about today, all as amazing as one another, so without further ado (and to save you reading about how quickly the year has gone by), let’s get on with the post!

DSC_0048

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

When I was young my Mom would buy Australian Bodycare products for us to use and I loved their skin wash, shampoo, conditioner and especially their face wash, which kept my spots at bay whilst I was a teenager. However the shop we used to buy all these from stopped stocking them and we weren’t able to find them again to buy, until recently. QVC have started to stock these and at amazing prices so my Mom bought us a set to use and she donated the skin wash to me as she remembered how much I loved it when I was younger. This is a huge 500ml bottle and I know it’s going to last me ages! Since using this I’ve noticed that a horrid patch of spots that always lingered on my chest have now vanished and my skin has never felt so soft before without using a moisturiser after showering. As well as that, this stuff smells amazing, just like tea tree and a bonus is it lingers on the skin afterwards too, but only a slight smell, nothing strong. I feel so fresh and clean after using this skin wash and I think it’s going to be something I keep in my shower for a long time and now that QVC are stocking it, as well as other popular websites on the internet, I know I’ll never lose it again from the side of my bath.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I mentioned this in my recent haul post from when I went shopping with my friend Poppy and for probably a year now I haven’t owned a decent shave gel, until now of course. Since swapping from men’s shave foams and shower gels I’ve noticed that the skin on my legs and underarms isn’t as dry as it used to be after shaving and that’s really nice. Plus I’m weird and have a patch on  my left leg that at times can be left really sore and irritated after shaving, but since using this gel I’ve not had that trouble, which is really nice as it used to be so painful at times and sometimes through all that pain, it wasn’t even shaved properly half the time. As well as feeling lovely on the skin it smells nice too, which is always good! You only need a little bit of this gel and it foams up really well and it goes a long way. I got this shave gel half price in Boots and I’m probably going to buy another one (or two) to see me through the rest of 2013, as I really like this shave gel and whilst I’m poor, I don’t really want to pay full price for one, when I can get two for the same price. Smart thinking, huh?

  • Yankee Candle Simply Home in Lemon Cream.

I’ve been burning this on and off throughout October, usually during the day as lately I’ve been getting headaches and sore throats from burning scented candles, which really sucks so I need to keep a window open whilst it burns so that the scent isn’t too intense for me. I bought this candle at a market stall in June for just £6.00 and before now in the past I’ve bought various different Yankee Candle tarts and samplers from the same stall too. This candle is amazing and smells just like lemon butter cream, which I LOVE. If you’ve ever smelt Morrisons own brand lemon butter cream, then that is EXACTLY what this smells like. It’s a massive jar too so this will last me ages. It’s a very strong scent and I’ll only leave it burning for a couple of hours whilst I write to try and relax me. I would like to own more Simply Home candles and I have a few in mind I’d like to get, including Cherry and Christmas Treats.

  • Lush FUN in Pink.

I’ve owned this since Lush first brought their FUN collection out and recently with Lush announcing their Christmas range for 2013, I’m trying to use up some of my Lush products so that I can fill my Lush container full of yummy new things to try out! Lush have of course brought out a FUN product for Christmas, GOLD and I really want to get my grubby mitts on one! I used Pink in a couple of baths throughout October as a bubble bar and as a wash and FUN really does go a long way! It always leaves my skin feeling soft and beautiful, as well as smelling gorgeous! Pink reminds me of Rock Star Soap and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, which is why I bought it. I’ve used Rock Star Soap once and whilst I didn’t get an allergic reaction to it, like I do with most of Lush’s soaps, I’m too scared to buy a chunk incase this actually occurs, so I’m glad that Pink exists so that I can have the scent of Rock Star to wash with, but not have to worry about any bad rashes on my skin. Whenever I used this in the bath, the smell lingers in the bathroom for up to two days, which I really quite like and whenever I popped into the bathroom I got a whiff of it. Lush definitely need to create some more FUN colours, purple and orange would be amazing! I need to try more of the FUN products and I think I’ll be doing just that in the New Year.

  • Gucci Envy Me EDT.

This is by far one of my favourite perfumes. I bought this bottle back in 2005 when I last went on holiday and sadly I don’t have all that much left. I only use it for very special occasions such as my birthday, other people’s birthdays and late at night if I fancy wearing it. My family has gone on holiday and they were lovely enough to ask if I wanted anything brought back and the first thing I came up with was this perfume! It isn’t expensive to buy online but seeing as I’m really quite poor at the moment, I can’t really buy myself a new bottle. I wore this quite a bit during October though, especially when my boyfriend came round to see me as he hadn’t smelt this before and seeing as I really like it, I thought he might to and he really does, so that’s good! Plus for an EDT this perfume can be quite strong and lasts quite a while and is probably one of the only EDT scents I’ve bought for myself. I can’t wait to get a new bottle of this, it was one of the first perfumes I bought for myself and its been sat in its packaging and finally in my perfume box (yes I have a box!) for nearly 10 years! It’s probably gone bad by now, but it still smells amazing! If you haven’t smelt this, I suggest you do so as its beautiful.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Multi Protection Light Cream.

I didn’t buy this myself, my Mom actually gave it to me when I said I needed to get some new moisturiser to tide me over until I can afford my Clinique Moisturising Gel. I didn’t think I would like this at first as due to my skin type it gets on better with gels than creams, but this is really nice! It’s definitely a cream, but it’s light enough to not sit on my skin for ages like most creams do. I’m not a huge fan of the smell but it doesn’t really linger all that long so it doesn’t bother me. You only need a 1 pence piece amount of this and it really does go a long way and makes my skin feel really soft, almost baby soft! The only flaw with this is it feels slightly greasy on my hands and whilst other creams the feeling may go away, this doesn’t and I need to wash it off of my hands after use every time. That doesn’t take long to do however and it’s worth it for my face feeling and looking as nice as it does after use. This stuff isn’t cheap and as the tube isn’t very big, I wouldn’t personally buy this myself, unless I had the money to splash.

  • Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Eye Gel.

This was another product mentioned on my recent haul post, as I needed a new eye gel and this was the one I decided to buy. For £12.50 I wondered if I’d bought something that wouldn’t last that long, but you need the tiniest amount and this product goes a long way! I love eye gels as like moisturisers, eye creams sting my eyes and don’t sink in, leaving them feeling heavy and to be honest, yuck! Eye gels soothe my tired and aching eyes with that cooling feeling they leave behind which wakes them up at the same time. This eye gel does just that, it relieved the ache and wakes them up! My eyes aren’t that puffy to be honest, but if they were the slightest bit puffy I’d like to think that this gel will help that out a little. I gave my boyfriend some of this to try and he commented how he really liked it. I love the packaging for this product to. It’s so simple and for a little pot you do get a lot of product, which I know is going to last me quite a while! Definitely worth every penny.

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy in Aloe Vera.

This isn’t actually mine, it’s my boyfriend but after forgetting I’d left it in my bag on my way home Sunday night, he told me to keep it and that he would buy another one. Although I have my steroid cream for my eczema it doesn’t seem to be working right now and my knuckles are incredibly sore and red, which makes it at times really quite painful as the skin is splitting open. My Garnier hand cream usually helps, but at the moment it’s making the pain worse due to the skin being split open and as I’m only allowed to use my steroid cream once a day, it’s been quite painful. My boyfriend told me to use his Vaseline, which has been helping a little, as well as soothing the pain and as my best friend also suffers from eczema, she’s suggested Vaseline in the past too. I’ve been applying it as much as possible and the cool feeling from the aloe vera has definitely helped soothe my knuckles, but this being said they’re still incredibly painful.

  • MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint & Lip Balm in Broken Hearted.

I wrote a review for this in October which you can read here and this has been something I’ve been using on my late shifts at work, as well as when I’m popped out quickly during the day. It’s really creamy and makes my lips look a lovely light pink, as well as conditioning them too. It glides on easily and quickly and with its precision end, you don’t really need a mirror when applying it either. It smells and tastes amazing too, which to me is always an added bonus with lip products. If you want to know more, go check out my review about it.

  • MAC Lipstick in Rebel.

This is my favourite lipstick, as well as my favourite MAC lipstick. I never wear it during the spring and summer months as it’s a dark berry – vampy shade but during the autumn and winter months, it’s all I’ll wear! It’s a satin finish so it’s not quite matte, but it’s not exactly creamy either. I like to blot this when wearing it so it lasts longer. It also smells of vanilla, but it reminds me of fresh doughnuts! I’ve been wearing this out and about when seeing friends and when I’ve been out with my boyfriend too and it’s been nice wearing it again and I’ve forgotten just how much I love wearing it too. You can read my full review for this here, it explains more about the lipstick so make sure to check it out if you would like to know more.

  • Vaseline Lip Tint in Paint The Town Red.

Once again, another product I spoke about in my recent haul and since buying it, I haven’t been able to stop using it! I’ve been using it around the house, at my boyfriend, in the car while traveling, at work and everywhere you can think of! This is a limited edition lip tint for autumn and winter and I’m really quite sad about that as it’s truly amazing! It glides onto your lips easily leaving behind a faint pink tint and smells of winter berries, which you can taste slightly when it’s on your lips too. I just love this product and I’ll be making sure to stock up before they’re discontinued! I’ve written a full review of this here so make sure to go and check that out for more information.

So those were my favourites for October, that was a long post, has taken me over an hour to write!

What products did you like using throughout October? Let me know in the comments!

I’m off to start NaNoWriMo, so until next time, take care all!
