September Favourites ’18

I say this every month but honestly where is this year going and how is it already October?! I’m so excited for autumn and winter though, because as much as I love the warmer weather, I hate it in the UK! People just don’t know how to deal with it, including myself. I never have any decent summer clothes for the UK either and I was baking at work and home. URGH!

September really did fly by and I honestly do not know where the month went. Well to be fair I had a week off work so that fly by, which is always the way it works! πŸ˜› That is definitely my last bit of holiday until April now. πŸ˜›

So with a busy month, I have SO MANY FAVOURITES TO SHARE! I sometimes struggle to be honest with you, but not this month. πŸ˜› I hope you like this months favourites post anyhoo!

  • SBC Collagen Bath & Shower Creme.

This was a shower creme my mom recently gave to me. She loves SBC and when I lived at home I used to use the brand quite a lot. Since moving out a few years ago I’ve not touched it since, not until she recently gave me this MASSIVE bottle of collagen bath and shower creme! I use this daily now and it only takes a little bit of this and it goes such a long way. It smells floral yet sweet, I can’t quite put my finger on the scent but I really do like it, it’s different. This makes my skin feel so moisturised and fresh after use. I really do love it and so happy my mom gave it to me.

  • Barry M All in One Nail Paint.

This has been one of my favourite base and top coats for years, YEARS! My old bottle of this went out of date and was unusable, which sucks. I finally remembered to pick up a new bottle and this helped my nail polishes last SO DAMN LONG, which in turn made me so happy. I’ve been struggling to get my polishes to last longer than a day but thanks to using this it’s caused them to last just under a week. I love it and I don’t think I’ll use my nail polishes without it ever again.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Bubble Bar (review here).

If there is a new bath product I love to the moon and back, it’s definitely the coconut bubble bar from The Body Shop. I feel like I’ve spoken loads about The Body Shop on my blog lately and I do apologise for that, but meh I love the brand so much and it’s thanks to me rediscovering it that has helped me start to look after my skin properly once again. These bubble bars are a real treat but I’ve used them quite a few times throughout September. It’s just made me realise how excited I am for the colder weather and coming home to a nice hot bath after a long day. I really hope The Body Shop release some limited edition scents for Christmas! I’ve linked it where the name of the product is, but I recently reviewed this, so you can check it out.

  • Barry M Molten Metal Celestial Silver Nail Paint.

When I picked up the Barry M all in one nail paint I picked up a few other bits and pieces too. It turned out I qualified for a 3 for 2 offer so I quickly ran back to the Barry M stand and picked up this gorgeous nail paint! This is part of the molten metal collection, which I own a couple of nail paints from already (you can check out the review for the holographic one here) and they’re pretty awesome. I’d seen pictures of this shade on Instagram and it is so damn pretty! I wore it during my week off work and it was so lovely to wear. I got so many compliments on it. I really need to paint my nails with it again, as well as review it. πŸ˜›

  • Carex Unicorn Magic Hand Wash.

I picked this up at the start of September as I found it in Savers. I remember hearing about this scent from Carex for AGES but could never find it anywhere! So when I found both the hand wash and the shower and bath I picked a couple of each up. I was going to mention the shower and bath but I feel like the hand wash has been used so much more. It’s such a lovely scent, which is of palma violets! I’ve never been a massive fan of the sweets, but I do really like the scent. I don’t know if this hand wash is drying my skin out of not, as I’ve always been hit and miss with Carex hand washes. I don’t care though, I love it so damn much and it’s going to be a part of my bathroom from now on!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story Season 7 Cult.

Before and during our week off I made sure that me and Dane finished catching up on American Horror Story. I would have mentioned season 6 too, but that was such a bag of shit I couldn’t even believe people enjoyed it. Season 7 which is Cult was AMAZING though and I loved it so much! I loved Evan Peter’s character, even if he was a psycho! I also loved his sister Winter too and especially loved what she wore throughout the show. It was just a great season, even if it was a little bat shit crazy… But which season of AHS ISN’T bat shit crazy? πŸ˜› I need to start watching the new season as it’s currently airing, but it’s trying to find it to be honest.

Favourite Film – Christoper Robin.

Oh man I was so happy to have a date evening with Dane and this film was definitely that. I cried so many times throughout this and as soon as it comes out on DVD and Bluray I’ll be picking it up! It was such a lovely film and definitely one that I thought was made for adults over children. Pooh was adorable and definitely one of my favourite characters alongside Eeyore. The humour was just so dry and hilarious all at the same time! If I wasn’t crying, I was laughing. At one point I was sad for Pooh and turned to Dane to say, “Oh poor Pooh” and my voice broke as I said it was I was trying not to cry. It was hilarious! If you haven’t seen this film yet and get the chance to, honestly go and see it.

Favourite Book – Himouto! Umaru-Chan.

New month, new manga to read! I’ve not read loads of this, but enough for me to mention it here this month. I LOVED the anime so as soon as I found out the manga was FINALLY coming out in the UK I decided to order both volume 1 and 2 so I could read it. There are so many volumes coming out over a short period of time too which is pretty awesome and I love it! It’s a pretty cool manga and what you’d expect if you’ve watched the anime. It’s definitely made me chuckle when I’ve read it before going to work.

Favourite Song/Artist/Album – Myth & Roid – Voracity.

Me and Dane discovered this song thanks to the anime Overlord and we love it so damn much! We listen to it almost daily and it’s so damn catchy. I can’t remember where we were or what we were doing but I kept humming it whilst we were out and it was starting to bug me after a while. πŸ˜› I need to find more music from this band as their sound is pretty awesome. Definitely give it a listen!

Favourite Game –Β Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies.

I hate that I go into phases when it comes to playing games and this is definitely a game I’ve played on and off for God knows how long! I do really love playing it but sometimes I just don’t have time and then other times I’ll have LOADS of time to play it! It’s so bizarre. Anyway, I’ve finally sort of got into this game and I really do love playing it. I feel like a mini detective/solicitor and it’s pretty cool. I only paid about Β£7.00 for it too when I picked it up, which is pretty good. Now I’m talking about it, I actually really want to go and play it.

So those were my favourites from September. I’m pretty excited for October as I plan to start my Christmas shopping and of course we have Halloween and Bonfire Night coming up, which is always good. πŸ˜›

Do you have plans for both of those things yet? What were your favourites from September too? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

February Favourites ’18

It’s now March and we are well and truly having a second winter instead of starting spring! We had snow only a couple of days ago, which pissed me off something rotten. I want longer days now to involve some nicer weather NOT SNOW AND ICE!

Hopefully with March here we will start to have some spring days on their way too now. I’m excited for going on long walks in the evenings after work with Dane, as well as on the weekends.

For now however, it is time for February’s favourites!

  • Lush Supertramp Bubble Bar.

Sadly I don’t have this to show you anymore as it’s alllllllll gone! I love Supertramp bubble bar from Lush, it’s definitely one of my favourite products. I’m not a massive fan of earthy or grassy scents but I adore this! Whenever I use it it really does lift any sort of head cold I may be suffering from. It’s definitely a great bubble bar to use in the colder months and with all the bloody snow we’ve had, this has been such a lovely pampering one to use in the evenings after work. This is an Oxford Street exclusive but you can pick it up on the website which is awesome! I usually buy loads of these whenever I go down to London, but thankfully I won’t have to do this anymore.

  • Romantic Bear WOW Long Lasting Lip Color in Watermelon.

I have been meaning to reviewing these for the longest time, but as of yet I haven’t gotten around to it. I haven’t used any of my lip peeled stains for a while but recently I just fancied giving them a go. I’ve been using various colours, but the shade Watermelon is the one I go to the most. It’s a light blush pink shade which I love wearing for work. I apply lip balm over the top and my lips stay lovely and soft all day! These are really great products for the price too, I can’t wait to finally review them this month!

  • Barry M Under The Sea Nail Paint in Butterflyfish and Jellyfish (review here).

I couldn’t decide between the two but if there’s a nail polish I’ve been wearing loads this past month, it’s these two beauties by Barry M! They’re from the new Under The Sea collection, which I reviewed recently and linked above. They’re gorgeous nail polish shades to bring us into spring… When it FINALLY gets here! I couldn’t decide between the two shades, although I’ve always loved Jellyfish more.

  • Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm.

This is an old favourite that I come back to time and time again! My mom bought me a new tub for my birthday, which I was really grateful for. I’ve been using it a couple of times a week when I feel like my skin really needs it. My skin has been really bad this past month, which in itself sucks as I constantly look like a spotty teenager! This balm has really helped with soothing my skin when it feels dry, but I definitely don’t feel the need to use it daily. This balm is amazing for removing make up too, apparently. As regular readers will know, I don’t wear a full face of make up so I wouldn’t know. My mom is the one who has told me it’s great at removing make up. πŸ˜›

  • Nivea Cashmere Indulgent Moisture Caring Hand Wash.

We use these hand washes at work and when picking up some new hand wash last month I decided to grab one of the ones we use at work, as well as a couple more of the Nivea hand washes. This is one of the ones I’m using at the moment and it’s amazing! It’s a lovely thick hand wash, well more like a cream really and smells delightful! Usually my hands will flare up with eczema with hand washes towards the end of the packaging, but this one I’ve not had ANY issues with! Savers sell these for a Β£1 each so I definitely recommend them if you fancy giving something new a go.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World!

This is an anime that Dane has loved since it first came out and I never understood his love for it until recently! He got me to start watching it with him and it’s a mixture of funny and random as hell! I bought him two of the girls (Megumin who is the red witch character in the gif and Darkness who is wearing yellow in the gif) Nendoroid characters, which he loved! So with finally having most of the characters it was time to watch the anime he loves. It’s just so random and hilarious! Although I’m happy Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid won the anime comedy award at The Anime Awards recently. I do feel like KonoSuba deserved it more.

Favourite Film – A Silent Voice.

I know this isn’t exactly a new film and I know I’ve mentioned it before but I gave this another watch in February and I forgot just how much I loved it. This time I watched it in dubbed and although I prefer the subbed version, it was still lovely to watch. I just forgot how much I loved the story, as well as the manga which fast became one of my favourite manga series to date! If you haven’t watched this and you want to, DO IT! You won’t regret it! Word of warning, it’s not the most delightful and merry of anime in the world and it can be incredibly depressing. It made me cry at the end when I watched it recently… Oh what a weed I am. πŸ˜›

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Kanna's Daily Life Vol. 1 by Coolkyoushinja and Mitsuhiro Kimura

Image taken from Wordery

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Vol. 1

I picked up a couple of new manga books in February but only read them as the end of the month was drawing to a close! If there is a manga series (and anime) that I have fallen in love with since 2017 it’s Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid! It’s so adorable, funny and kind of cringey all at the same time, but that’s why I love it so much. This new spin off series about Kanna, the youngest dragon is ADORABLE and if I do say so myself, drawn so much better than the original! I already can’t wait for volume 2 to come out in June, which I already know will be here before I know it.

Favourite Song/Album – Keane Hopes and Fears and The Killers Hot Fuss.

These are two albums I listened to quite a bit throughout February and I think it’s mostly due to the fact I fancied a blast from the past. These were two bands I listened to growing up and these two albums were my life at one point. They both came out in 2004 which less than a month apart from one another and I remember buying them with my pocket money from Sainsbury’s after school. I mostly listened to these on my drive to and from work and there would be tracks coming on that I found myself saying, “Holy shit! I forgot this song even existed!” but finding myself remembering the lyrics as I sang along. Let me also add that I had the BIGGEST crush on Brandon Flowers growing up and it was thanks to Smile Like Your Mean It where my crush on him began, as well as for guyliner. OH and of course it was the song that introduced me to the band. πŸ˜›

Favourite Game – Erm…

So I haven’t really been playing any games recently. Not for any reason in particular either other than I can’t be arsed… I’ve probably played the odd game with Dane or a couple of mobile games but nothing to write home about, sadly. I know we both want to get a couple of new games this month so I’m pretty sure my March favourites will have a game in there! πŸ˜›

So those were my favourites from February! I can’t believe we’re already into March and here’s fingers crossed for no more snow and more sunshine.

What were your favourites from last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week.

September Favourites ’17

I’m currently on holiday when this post will go live on my blog and although I’ve only really been in the UK for just over 2 weeks for the month of September, I can still write what products I loved throughout that time… Right? πŸ˜›

I do apologise for poor image quality… I took this the night before we left and was rushing to get so much done. 😦

  • Garnier PureActive Intensive 3in1 Charcoal Anti-Blackhead.

This is a product I bought on a whim. I love any facial cleansing products that contain charcoal, as it’s great for oily skin and can really help pull any crap out of your pores. As the title suggests this is a 3in1 product which means you can use it as a facial wash, scrub and as a mask. This isn’t the BEST product in the world but it’s done some wonders for my skin so far! It’s not as scrubby as I was hoping it would be, but my skin has been having some sensitive days recently so this has really helped when I want to use a scrub but nothing too harsh. I definitely recommend giving this a go! I haven’t tried it as a mask to be honest, but it’s an amazing facial wash for sure.

  • Lush Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint.

This is my tube of Sugar Plum Fairy lip tint from last Christmas and it’s a lip product I randomly just started using again this month. I think with all the excitement of the Lush Creative Showcase and the Christmas goodies of 2017 being announced, it jogged my memory of this lip tint. It smells amazing, leaves a lovely magenta pink shade on my lips and moisturises at the same time! I’ll definitely be buying more Lush lip tints this year, including Black Rose for Halloween and Santa Baby for Christmas.

  • Paco Rabanne Lady Million EDP.

I’ve owned for a while and when I was first given it by my mom (it was originally a gift she had been given but didn’t like it, so gave it to me! :P) and at first I REALLY hated it, but after using it for a while I’ve grown to love it. The scent reminds me of Yankee Candle’s Fluffy Towels scent and I love it so much. I feel fresh and clean when I wear it and whilst ages ago I couldn’t wait to get rid of it, I now want to buy a new bottle as soon as it runs out. For ages it was my go to scent for work, which to be honest it was for the 2 weeks of September.

  • Mandarin Spa Amber Heaven Gentle Hand Wash.

My mom recently gave me this hand wash after noticing I was running low on hand wash in my bathroom. I had a back up ready to pop next to the sink, but how cute is that??? When I lived at home I would often use this hand wash if either me or my mom had bought any. I love the scent of this hand wash so much as it smells so posh! I can’t really describe how it smells to be honest… Sort of musky but a floral musk… If that makes sense? Even though I really like this hand wash at the moment, I do have a hate/love relationship with this stuff. Before now this hand wash has flared up my eczema and I don’t really know why. I has flared up slightly the past month BUT it hasn’t been as bad as it has been in the past.

  • Dove Pistachio and Magnolia Shower Foam.

Whilst I love this shower foam, I highly doubt I’ll be buying it again unless it’s on a special offer. I picked this up in Boots for Β£2.00 and even then I think this was expensive, FYI it’s usually Β£2.99. There are three different ones you can pick but I love pistachios so I had to pick this one. I have found that this softens my skin after use and will leave me smelling yummy for a while after use, but I just feel like you have to use loads of it to get a good lather going in a sponge or shower scrunch and that in itself is a con for me. This being said this was something new and fun to try and due to the scent I picked it’s also lovely to use as we go into the colder months. The pistachio has a lovely warming scent to it. As I said, when this is on offer again I’ll definitely pick one up!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – American Horror Story.

First of all, I know I don’t usually include 2 images when talking about my non beauty favourites, but I had to for this. I just want to get this out there that 1. I have a new favourite actor – Evan Peters and 2. The way he acted when playing Tate in season 1 of AHS was amazing and beautiful. I love the first gif I attached but the second one, oh my! Whenever he cried in that season I just wanted to cry with him. He’s one of those actors who nails crying scenes perfectly and those are some of my favourite to watch. Due to studying acting (as well as writing scripts) I love when an actor can be emotional and he’s just perfect at it (and may I add a perfect human being? :P).

ANYWAY… American Horror Story! Me and Dane have heard loads of good things about this, including from his own parents and we’re a little late onto the AHS wagon but it’s better to be late than never at all, eh? We are currently halfway through season 2 and we are loving it. I loved season 1 so much and his parents both said it’s their favourite to date! I have a feeling it’ll be mine too. If you don’t know much about AHS, every season pretty much has the same actors/actresses but each season has a different story behind it. BUT they’re all supernatural themed. They’re currently all on Netflix so I recommend going to watch it if you haven’t already. To be honest I’m really excited to see more of Evan Peters acting. He’s amazing. :’)

Favourite Film – The Girl On The Train.

This was recently on Amazon Prime to watch and I had heard SO MUCH about both the book when it came out, as well as the film. I wanted to watch it in the cinema but Dane wasn’t keen for it at the time. I’m glad I waited to watch it in the comfort of our own home but bloody hell, it’s good! I haven’t read the book so I can’t compare that to the film but even if you haven’t read the book like myself then I recommend you give it a watch. It definitely reminded me of Gone Girl, but in a different way.

Image taken fromΒ readeroffictions.com

Favourite Book – Erm…

Yeah I’m shit. I haven’t been reading anything AGAIN! To be honest I’ve been saving all my reading for my holiday. I do have shit loads of reading to catch up on though. I have all the K-ON! manga to catch up on, as well as many other manga books. I also have normal books to read and intend on taking 2 Bridget Jones books with me on holiday (as you’ve probably guessed I’m writing this JUST before I go on holiday…) as well as some manga, but we shall see. I’m sure I’ll do a post about what books I took at some point.

Favourite Song/Album – Porter Robinson & Madeon – Shelter and Rihanna – Te Amo.

These are both songs I discovered this month and ones I know I’ll continue to listen to loads, especially during and even after my holiday. Shelter was brought to my attention by Dane who mentioned that someone had used an anime in their music video. It’s an amazing song and the anime music video that accompanies it is lovely and sad all the same.

As well as that I also discovered this Rihanna song thanks to a beauty video on Instagram. I didn’t know of this songs existence, even though it’s been around for just over 7 years now. Bloody hell! I know my usual music genre tastes are in rock music as well as some electronic but I do have a soft spot for Rihanna. She just writes some catchy as fuck tracks and this is one.

Favourite Game – Life Is Strange: Before The Storm.

I completed this game in a day (including unlocking all the specials in each level of the episode) and I loved it, but at the same time I’m unsure what to think right now. I will elaborate without giving away any spoilers! This is a prequel to Life Is Strange where you play as Chloe, sadly she doesn’t have Max’s power but she has her own speciality. In this game you get to find out what happens with Rachel including how her and Chloe become friends and what happens before Max comes into the picture and Rachel goes missing. You get to be a little more rebellious with Chloe than you ever could be with Max and whilst I like this, I do find that both Chloe and Rachel are bratty. I’m not the only one who thought this either. THIS BEING SAID I can’t really say they’re acting bratty when Chloe’s dad recently died and Rachel has some stuff going on herself, which you find out about somewhat in the first episode. Overall it was really fun to play and I already can’t wait for episode 2 to come out soon! I bought the limited edition bundle so that I can get the bonus Max level, as well as all the episodes for Before The Storm.

So those are my favourites from the 2 weeks I was in the UK in September! It went by really quick and I already can’t believe I’m going away in just a couple of days (as I write this) and I’ll be back in 3 days when this post goes live on my blog (FYI hello future Nat! :P)

What were your favourites throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care! I hope you’re all well, I miss all my lovely readers! :’)

June Favourites ’17

It is now July and month seven of the year! 2017 is going by so quickly and whilst a part of me is somewhat glad about that, it’s also always creepy when we edge into another month. Soon it’ll be August bank holiday, then holiday and autumn, then Halloween and bonfire night, and then Christmas and New Year. Fuck. Stop time just for a bit. πŸ˜›

I loved all my favourites from last month as I discovered some new beauty products and was reminded how good some oldies are too. So I hope you enjoy this months favourites post. ^_^

  • Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Hand Wash.

I’ve been eyeing up this hand wash for ages, but never bought it as me and Dane have had LOADS of hand washes to get through. Then towards the end of the month I was able to pick up a couple of these in Poundland. They smell amazing, just like the shower cream and bubble bath. So far since me using it my eczema hasn’t disliked it, so I’m hoping and keeping fingers crossed that I’ll be okay with it! If so I’ll be buying this and using it as our regular hand wash for as long as possible. πŸ˜›

  • Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter.

I picked this lip butter up randomly when on an alcohol run before going to a friends BBQ. I’d forgotten my tin of Vaseline in the house and I KNEW I would need something for my lips. I’ve mentioned a few times this past week that my lips are still playing up on and off so I need constant moisture to keep my lips soft and from splitting again. This lip butter is amazing! I love blueberry scented things so this smells divine, but it’s also a thick lip butter which actually feels like it’s working. I have it for around the house as well as for in my handbag when I want something thick on my lips. I recommend these though if you’re not a fan of Vaseline and want to try something different.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care in Normal To Combination.

I recently reviewed this (which you can read here) and I love it so much! June has been a pretty hot month and we had some of the hottest days of the year during the month. This liquid moisturiser was wonderful to use towards the end of the month and really is something that had to feature on here! It’s also helped my skin quite a bit with my oily t-zone. Can’t complain about that at all! πŸ˜›

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

This is a lip stain I bought months ago but hardly used, until recently. I tried blending this with the shade Dewberry to create blended look with my lipstick. Not only did it look great when I applied it but it lasted ages too, which I was really happy with! It’s so comfortable to wear especially in the warm weather. My only issue with it is it smells and tastes disgusting! >.<

  • The Body Shop Oils of Life Twin-Ball Facial Massager.

This is a product I bought over a year ago and one I had hardly used until recently. With the warmer weather I thought it would be nice to use this massager on my skin after my serum and moisturiser. This has especially worked well teamed up with hydra genius! Due to the metal balls it feels lovely and cooling on the skin which I love the most about it. I don’t know if I’ve noticed any differences in my skin Β by using it yet however. I also use this under my eyes after applying my eye gel to help with my eye bags. The Body Shop have in fact released one specifically for the eye area so I’ll be buying that one very soon!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9.

Oh my God what a season this one has been! It’s definitely been one of my favourites for a long time and that is just purely down to Sasha Velour, who in turn has become my favourite drag queen. At the time of writing this (21st June AKA 2 days before the final!) I am really rooting for her to win this season. She fucking deserves it to be honest. She’s funny, unique, beautiful and not to mention down to earth and not fucking fake. I hate fake queens so damn much!

EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY GIRL WON! I am so damn happy that Sasha won season 9! She’s the only queen who wasn’t in the bottom two throughout the competition and I only realised that whilst watching it. That shit she pulled with the rose petals. Fuck yes my lady!!! I have to add that I also loved Peppermint’s performance too and I’m very glad that she came second! I’ve already said that as soon as Sasha Velour announces doing some dates in the UK I WILL be going! πŸ˜€

Favourite Film – Split.

After 5 months of saying we would watch it, me and Dane FINALLY watched Split and let me tell you, I loved it. I wanted more from James McAvoy’s character as I loved him so much. He’s also one of my favourite actors and has been since the start of his career when he played Steve in Shameless (the UK one of course, not the shitty American version!). I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film and how some people loved it and some hated it. I honestly can understand why people didn’t like it, but I felt it worked really well and the twist at the end was pretty awesome. It’s very mental health related and that’s something you find out at the end which is really interesting. It just worked so damn well and McAvoy’s acting was fucking perfect.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I’m not going to lie. I haven;t been reading fuck all this month. I keep meaning to take Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy to work but I always forget. That and I feel like I hardly get any time to even read a decent amount. I have ordered some manga recently so I’m sure I’ll be reading that soon. ^_^

Favourite Song – Persona 5 OST – Behind The Mask (Instrumental).

I feel like I do nothing but talk about this game and erm why the fuck shouldn’t I? IT’S AMAZING! I am legit spending my day off tomorrow by playing this and doing housework. That is so sad. πŸ˜› ANYWAY! The soundtrack from this game is an actual God send for me and I’m fully addicted to it. I need to download it as I want it to listen to whilst on holiday. I’ve found in the past that it’s really good to listen to whilst doing blog work as it’s really interesting. If you love jazz music, you’ll love this album. There is also a version of the song with lyrics/singing but I prefer the instrumental version.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Magikarp Jump.

I so desperately wanted to talk about Persona 5 again, but I can’t possibly. I spoke about it last month. πŸ˜› BUT I have been loving this iPhone game! It’s an official Pokemon game and has been out about a month now. You basically train your Magikarp to jump as high as possible so that it can compete against other Magikarp! It’s kind of addicting and I often play it on my lunch break at work. I know a lot of people who have given it a go and got very bored of it, often deleting it. I love it though! What I find is the best thing about it? You don’t need to be on a wifi nextwork or 3G/4G to play it. WIN WIN!

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely weekend.

Big Beauty Haul

Why do I always do this? Say I’ll save money and then spend it as soon as payday comes. Oh dear.

Saturday me and Dane popped out to buy some stuff for the house and as we always do when we have to make a shopping trip like that we pop to Homesense, because Homesense is amazing!

I ended up spending quite a lot of money in the beauty section there as well as at Boots.

So I decided to show you all what I bought as there are some real gems in this haul. Enjoy!

As well as Homesense I also popped into Boots as well as The Body Shop for some freebies.

 photo Photo 12-09-2016 2 56 05 pm_zps1rtbbsae.jpg

I picked up so many sheet masks when I was in Homesense… I could have easily picked up more but I had to watch my money. I picked up three Tony Moly masks, two avocado and one red wine. I’ve got a couple of these masks already (tea tree, lemon and aloe vera). These cost Β£1.99 each… Which wasn’t cheap in my eyes as I’ve bought these before for a Β£1 each. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I also picked up some by a brand called Forever Young. These are in the green tea pore control version but they had quite a few different types. I settled on these as Dane has big pores, I love green tea and these will help to calm down my oily t-zone. You get five of these in a packet and they cost Β£4.99 so these seem more reasonable than the price of the Tony Moly ones.

Another Koren beauty item I picked up is the Etude House lip gel patch. I have heard about these time and time again over the past couple of years and have always wanted to try it out for myself. So when I saw two of these up for grabs I knew I had to pick them both up. As I’m writing this blog post I currently have one on my lips. It feels like jelly and surprisingly sticks onto the lips fairly easy. It smells of sweet cherries and you can really feel it working. I left it on for 20 minutes and it left my lips feeling lovely and soft! These cost me Β£1.99 each which isn’t cheap. I’ll look on eBay for these in future!

The next two things I picked up are by a brand called Caim & Able who are an Australian beauty brand. I picked up one of their bath salts and body scrubs. They had a couple of different ones in stock but I had my eyes on these two. The bath salts are coconut and lime which sounds right up my street! I love things like this so I’m really excited to use this soon! It’ll be lovely to use before going out in the daytime on my days off work. The body scrub is clementine and coffee and I LOVE coffee body scrubs! They’re great for cellulite which is what I’ll be using this for. These cost Β£7.99 each, I don’t think you can pick them up in the UK. If I love these I’ll be making sure to review them.

The final thing I picked up from Homesense was something for Dane. It’s some ingrown eliminating pads by Bliss. He’s always having problems with ingrown hairs on his face so I picked these up for him to try. If they’re any good I may have to steal a couple myself to try. These are meant to cost Β£28.00 but I picked them up for Β£5.99.

 photo Photo 12-09-2016 2 56 51 pm_zpsz594imh2.jpg

My next stop (as I mentioned) was Boots as well as The Body Shop for my freebie face mask samples. I got two which are British Rose and Ethiopian Honey. These will be exciting to try soon.

In Boots I picked up a couple of things I needed, as well as a couple of treats too. I needed some new hand wash for the bathroom and I really love the Baylis and Harding ones as they keep my hands looking and feeling soft and smooth. This is in the scent eton mess and although I am not a fan of the dessert I love the smell of this! It’s making me feel all Christmassy as well which is always good! This was just over Β£2.00.

I repurchased another bottle of my favourite shampoo which is the botanical shine shampoo by Liz Earle. It’s sulfate free and only costs Β£10! You get 200ml which isn’t loads but it lasts me a good couple of months which suits me fine. I love this stuff and as it’s for all hair types anyone can use it.

I got a couple of make up items too, including a clear mascara which by Collection which I used on my eyebrows to keep them in place. This is cheap as anything at Β£1.99 and it lasts months! As well as that I also picked up two Maybelline items as they were on buy one get one half price. I picked up the new baby lips shade in chai tea latte. I’m not a fan of the Starbucks drink but these smells delicious! Really warm and comforting, perfect for autumn which is looming. It’s a dark red shade like burgundy but when applied to the lips it looks a dark pink almost raspberry shade. I know I’ll be wearing this loads for the rest of the year. My final purchase was one my mom told me about and encouraged me to buy, which is one of Maybelline’s new lip products called colour drama intense lip paint. I picked up the shade vamped up which is an intense dark purple. I applied a little bit to my lips and it looks and feels amazing! This is definitely a product you can work with as with the more you apply the more intense the colour pay off gets! I can’t wait to wear this throughout autumn and winter.

So that was what I picked up over the weekend! I’m meant to be saving money, which I will be doing now.

What have you been buying recently? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

September Empties

Excuse my language but holy shit I used up a lot of products in September! I don’t think I’ve ever had this many items in an empties post and it’s really surprised me.

I won’t lie, I am glad to be rid of a lot of the products I had as whilst most were good, it is good to have a clear out so that new things may be bought and wasted money on. πŸ˜›

I just want to get this out there now that when we enter into 2015, I’m not 100% sure if I will be writing up anymore empties posts as whilst I do enjoy doing them I do just think it’s a hassle to save up all the empty bottles in my bathroom. I am just putting this down to how much I saved up this month and I may change my mind, we shall see how the next three/four months go…

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Hello Kitty Liberty Body Wash.

I was given this body wash in a gift set from my sister-in-law and I really did love it! I saved it for quite a while until I decided to use it and within a few weeks it was gone and I have missed using it. It was softening on the skin, lathered beautifully and left my skin smelling gorgeous! It reminds me of the scent the old pink FCUK products that Boots sold at Christmas time in the early 00’s and it really did leave me with some childhood memories! If this is out again this year I’ll probably pick some up as I really enjoyed using this. I am really sad to see it finished.

  • Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo.

I’ve had this shampoo for ages so when it finally came to its end I was really shocked! It just didn’t seem like it was ever going to run out. I’ve since repurchased this in a 1 litre bottle as I really do love this shampoo! If you want to read more about this it featured on my 2013 Favourites, you can find that here.

  • Carex Strawberry Fun Shower & Bath.

I LOVED this shower and bath and when it ran out I was actually really sad, but at the same time I wasn’t as it only cost me a Β£1, YES A WHOLE POUND COIN! This really did smell like sweet strawberries and perfect for children or anyone who loves strawberries like myself. This really did remind me of The Body Shop’s strawberry shower gel and on a recently shopping trip I picked one up for my boyfriend, who loves it just as much as I do. This leaves your skin feeling great and smelling delicious and it was a treat to use in the bath alongside a fruity bath bomb. BUY IT if you want to try something good, you won’t regret it.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Hand Wash in Mango & Papaya.

Although this featured in my favourites last month (read here), I really couldn’t wait to see the back of this product throughout September. It wasn’t a bad product but I found that due to its bright orange colour if you dripped any on the side, it would stain and has stained. I won’t be picking up this scent again, but I will pick up one of the others, preferably the coconut scent! Otherwise this was great, it smelt delicious and left my hands feeling clean and moisturised.

  • Soap & Glory The Greatest Scrub Of All Facial Exfoliator.

Another product I couldn’t wait to see in the bin! I used to love this scrub, it was my holy grail and when I suffered with some dry eczema style rash on my face years ago, this was the only thing that cleared it up! However over the years I have grown bored with this and now I can’t stand using it anymore. I didn’t even finish this product up, it just one day seemed to go gloopy and I ended up just throwing the rest of the product away. The things I don’t like about this scrub is how greasy it feels on the skin after use, it makes me cringe just the thought of it! I think it’s just to moisturise the skin but I just don’t like it. As well as that the scent is disgusting, I don’t get soap & Glory’s scents but apart from Sugar Crush they all make me feel sick. Shame that as the past year has gone by, I’ve grown to dislike most of Soap & Glory’s products. It does make me rather sad.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Gel Facial Wash.

I LOVE this face wash and as soon as I was running low I picked up a replacement. This costs less than Β£2 to buy and it really is worth the money. I don’t know if it’s due to what food I eat, me getting older or the face products I now use but I’ve noticed since using this wash that my skin has improved a hell of a lot! I recommend this to teenagers with troublesome skin so SO much as this is what I used to use when I was a teenager and it really did help my oily skin. You can pick T-Zone up at great prices in Home Bargains and Body Care, so keep your eyes peeled.

  • Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Sensitive.

I get through one of these every month and since May I haven’t mentioned one… I think because of the fact I always mention one and I always mention the same thing… Go and read about it here! πŸ˜›

  • The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cleanse Gel.

I love my hand sanitizers and I REALLY loved this one! I bought it when I went to Bristol in June and since then it has been so lovely to use, having a sniff of the empty bottle now reminds me of summer and Bristol. Soon as I can I will be picking up another bottle. I recommend The Body Shop cleanse gels so much as not only do they keep your hands germ free, but they leave your hands smelling lovely too. Go and check them out!

  • Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Gel.

Whilst The Body Shop cleanse gel was great, this was a let down and I couldn’t wait to finish the bottle! When you smell the bottle it has a light scent of strawberries, which is pleasant but when you use this on your hands it just stinks of alcohol and I hated it because of that. It wasn’t worth the money I paid (I paid Β£2 for 2) and I regretted buying it as soon as I started to use it. I don’t recommend, head to The Body Shop and pick up their strawberry cleanse gel, it’ll be worth the extra money and last longer! The cap on this was also rubbish and it opened inside my work apron and leaked everywhere, was really annoying. Don’t waste your money!

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Bomb in Strawberry & Pomegranate.

The first thing I want to say about this bath bomb is how awful it is. My Mom bought me 3 bath bombs for Β£3, as she knows how much I love my bath bombs! As soon as she brought them home I knew I wanted to try one out, so I popped the whole bomb into the bath and had a good, long soak! I just want to apologise if I go into TMI here but I just want to get out there how this product made me poorly. Before using this in the bath, I was fine but the day after I didn’t feel myself, but the day after that I was rather poorly… And it turned out I had thrush. I suffered from it for a week and it was painful and uncomfortable and I KNOW for a fact it was due to this bath bomb. If you have sensitive skin (or sensitive bits like I clearly do!) then steer clear of this product as whilst it felt moisturising on my skin it really did leave me feeling poorly and run down. I haven’t used the other 2 bath bombs and I have contemplated taking them back to get my money back. I’m not going to bother wasting mine or anyone else’s money on the Fruits collection anymore. I am really disappointed as the collection has had a lot of positive comments. For a little money I would just prefer to splash out on Lush.

So those were my empties of September, I still can’t believe how many products I finished! I doubt it’ll be the same in October, but who knows!

I hope everyone had a great September and I shall see you next month.

Until next time, take care all.

August Empties

DSC_0010

Alright so I know I didn’t do an empties post for July, but that’s because I only had one thing I would have been able to talk about, so it would have been pretty pointless. However throughout August I have been flooded with empty products, so much so that my purple Liberty bag is overflowing with empty products! So finally I bring to you an empties post, I hope it was worth the wait! :’)

DSC_0012

  • Dettol Camomile Comforting Hand Wash with E45.

Like all the other Dettol hand washes I have mentioned before on my blog, I really did enjoy this one. This was a bargain at a Β£1 and I thought I’d give it a go, as it sounded just as good as the honey one that I use so much. It was lovely to use and I was sad when it came to the end of the bottle. It reminded me of Johnson’s bedtime baby bath with the camomile scent, which lasted ages on my hands. I’d buy this again for sure!

  • Carex Complete Bubble Gum Hand Wash.

This was really fun to use and was an awesome bright blue colour, just like bubblegum! Although this did smell amazing the smell did get a little boring and tacky smelling after a few weeks and I actually couldn’t wait to finish it after a while. I’m unsure if it was this or something else but after a few weeks of use my hands started to be terribly dry, and since this coming to its last use a week ago my hands now aren’t as dry. I would pick this up again, don’t get me wrong but maybe as a treat as whilst it was only a Β£1, it was a bit too artificial smelling for my liking. I recommend people to try this who have children mind, as it was lovely nonetheless.

  • The Body Shop Hand Cleanse Gel in Strawberry (mentioned here and here).

This is a lovely hand sanitizer and providing if I’m on a budget or not is by far one of my favourites! At work, at home and amongst friends and family I get nothing but compliments on this, how gorgeous it smells, and even people asking if they can nab a blob off me. These don’t break the bank to buy and last ages in my opinion! I like to keep them in my handbag for at work and on the go, as you never know when you may need some.

  • The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel (mentioned here).

I was extremely sad to see the end of this (especially considering that I’m saving money and can’t buy anymore yet) because of the fact that it just smells amazing, plus I think it’s limited edition (I hope not!). I bought this for mine and my boyfriends long weekend in Bristol and it really does remind me of there whenever I smell it. This smells of delicious, ripe raspberries, perfect for summer! This foamed up lovely, left my skin feeling soft and gorgeous as well as smelling amazing too! I will buy this again in the future, as well as for my boyfriend who probably loved it more than I did!

DSC_0014

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Colgate Plax Mouthwash in Soft Mint.

Like all mouthwashes, this did a good job and one I expected it to. Since this has run out I haven’t re-purchased this one, nor have I purchased any in particular. This was nice to use and made my mouth feel nice and fresh whenever I used it.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser.

I love this cleanser so much that I re-purchased it well before it ran out and that is what I am currently using. This cleanser doesn’t cost much, less than Β£2.00 infact and is available from both Home Bargains and Body Care if you would like to pick it up. This smells gorgeous, just like tea tree and really does feel like it works when applied to the skin. I use this everyday and I can safely say that I have fallen in love with it. I used to use the T-Zone range as a teenager and I can say that it still works the same now as it used to back in the day! Try out their products if you fancy trying something new and affordable.

  • Hidden Passion EDP.

This was a find in a pound shop, for obviously a Β£1. I bought it after one of my closest friends picked it up too as it reminded me of one of my more expensive perfumes. I ended up using this for work and I couldn’t wait to see the back of it! Yes it’s cheap and cheerful but also really crap! I don’t recommend this unless you want something to spritz after the gym, work, for your car, etc.

  • Oral-B 3D White in Brilliance.

I LOVE this toothpaste and I can’t believe this is the first time that I’m mentioning this product on my blog! Since this came out it’s all I use and I think this toothpaste has been out for 2-3 years now, which is a very long time! This toothpaste isn’t cheap but I recently discovered that you can pick this up really cheap in Home Bargains, which I’m really pleased about. I recommend this toothpaste if you want to have clean and pearly white teeth!

So those were my empties for August! Whether or not I have any products to talk about this time next month or not, I’m unsure, we shall wait and see!

What products did you use up throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope September is going well for you all so far.

February Empties

DSC_00050

Okay, I am well aware of how late this post is (nearly 2 weeks to be exact!) and I apologise for that. I did mentioned on this post here as to why I’ve been so quiet this month so far, although I am trying to change that now.

So I’ve finally sat down at my laptop away from the distractions of my iPad and my new Nintendo 2DS to get this post, as well as another written up.

Let’s FINALLY get on with this post!

DSC_00060

  • Sainsbury’s Fresh Mint Mouthwash.

This was a quick and cheap purchase I made one evening a month or so ago when I popped into Sainsbury’s after work and it was definitely just a one-off purchase. This wasn’t a bad mouthwash, it certainly did the job but it was just a tad too alcoholic for my mouth as it would burn is used alone, so I’d end up mixing it with water. It didn’t cost much, probably no more than Β£1 and it certainly did the job as it left my breath fresh and my teeth felt clean and lovely. I might buy this again in future if I’m need for something cheap and cheerful, but otherwise it’s a no from me.

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I’ve mentioned this on various posts before, if you wish to read about it, go search for it above. πŸ™‚

  • Mandara Spa Moisturising Bath Essence in Amber Heaven.

This bath essence is beautiful and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before in the past! It has a lovely warm scent to it, due to the amber inside of it and when it’s put into the bath under running water it creates lovely smelling bubbles really quickly. By the time my bath is fully run, it’s also filled with soft bubbles! I don’t know how much this cost as my Mom bought it me about a year ago after a trip to Sainsbury’s, but I know from checking out the Mandara Spa products before they aren’t exactly cheap! This being said, I was using this bath essence once a week as both a bubble bath, as well as a shower gel. My Mom bless her saw that I had run out and bought me another one, as she knows how much I love it. Even if she hadn’t of bought me this again herself, I would have picked it up again as it’s a lovely product, smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling and smelling lovely.

DSC_0007

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Day Cream.

I bought this day cream back in November when I purchased one of the Seaweed sets from The Body Shop. Although this is a good face cream, I wouldn’t buy it again. When I went into The Body Shop and got my skin type tested and such, I came out as Seaweed, although since then I don’t think I am this at all, my reason for this is due to the fact this face cream at times was actually stinging my skin. Not good! This didn’t happen all the time, once a week maximum but it still bothered me and eventually I couldn’t wait to see the back of this product! Overall I’mΒ  pleased with how this DID help my skin as well as how long this tub lasted me was great. I have really liked trying out the set I bought from The Body Shop and soon enough when some of my other products run out I’ll be buying myself another set to try. I would buy this again as it was good for the majority, but for now I’d like to try something that may work better with my skin such as aloe vera or tea tree.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I LOVE this shave gel so much and it’s all I’ll use to shave with now, and I recommend it to every lady out there who shaves! I’ve written about this many times before, so go and search for it above if you wish to know more.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask.

I love this mud mask, it really does help when I’m about to, or just after I’ve broken out as it helps to calm down any spots that are about to come up as it prevents redness. As well as that it helps to dry up any current spots. For less than a Β£1 it’s a great mask to use once or twice a month and at the time of writing up this post, I think I’m going to pop one of these on after I’ve finished writing this up, as I’m a bit spotty at the moment and it’s driving me mad! xD

So those were my empties from February! I apologise again for it being late, but I did explain on a previous post which is linked above as to why I’ve been so quiet lately.

Here’s to keeping busy and live with my blog again!

Until next time, take care all, it’s good to be back. πŸ™‚

November Favourites

DSC_0416

I’ve said it every month and I’ll say it for the last time for 2013, I can’t believe where the months have gone and how we’ve got to December so quickly.

I guess since May I’ve had lots of fun as they say time goes fast when you’re having fun! This being said I’m somewhat glad to see 2013 soon coming to an end, as I just want 2014 to come along now to create some new resolutions as well as some happy memories, as although this year has brought some amazing people as well as memories into my life, it also had some crappy moments.

This being said, November was a mix and match of stressed and even more stressed, but that was mostly down to NaNoWriMo. Other than that, I managed to find some time to have myself some favourites, so as I do every month, I thought I’d share them with you!

DSC_0417

  • Superdrug Aqueous Cream.

Throughout November I suffered really badly with my eczema to the point it was bringing me a lot of discomfort. My boyfriend is quite knowledgeable about things like this and was able to help and buy me some creams and ointments that would help my eczema alongside my steroid cream from my doctor. One of these was my aqueous cream and this stuff is amazing! From memory it was Β£2 for this tub and it’s a huge 500ml tub! I use this alongside my steroid cream as well as after I wash my hands and if my hands are feeling a little dry. Plus a little of this goes a long way so this tub will last me ages!

  • Dettol with E45 in Honey Nourishing Hand Wash.

I’d seen this hand wash for sale in Asda for a couple of weeks and this is a fairly new product to come out in the shops during November. I’d been after a hand wash by E45 but they only had cream versions of hand wash, which I already have from my doctor so when they brought this out I was keen to get my hands on it. NOW I KNOW that I have said in the past how all sorts of hand washes have been amazing but this one is just wonderful and perfect. This leaves my hands feeling lovely and soft, smells amazing, as well as protecting them from germs. This is all I look for in a hand wash and I already know I’ll be re-purchasing this. Thank you Dettol and E45 for teaming up to create this product!

  • N Spa Lime Hair & Body Wash.

I swear to God, this stuff is amazing! I spotted this in Asda (Asda again!) and had a sniff of it to see if it was nice, was it nice? Hell yeah! It’s very zesty and refreshing, something that is great all year around, especially in the mornings due to the zesty fragrance, it wakes you up. It’s a gorgeous neon green gel that can be used as a hair and a body wash. Personally I wouldn’t use this on my hair but so far I’ve used this as a shower gel as well as a bubble bath and it’s amazing! It leaves my skin feeling beautiful and soft as well as leaving it smells fresh and gorgeous! This is a definite must before I go to work if I’m feeling a bit glum and tired. I’ve heard there is a scrub to go with this too, which I really want!

DSC_0418

  • La Petite Robe Noire EDP by Guerlain.

This perfume was brought back off of my Mom’s holiday at the start of November. I’d asked if she could pick me up a new perfume over there as it would be cheap and it was either this one or Envy Me by Gucci. ThisΒ  perfume is amazing and other than Alien and Envy Me this is pretty much all I’ve been wearing throughout November. It’s a very fruity, yet warm smell and it’s gorgeous for the late autumn and winter season. The smell of this actually reminds me of Lush’s Space Girl Bath Bomb! Is that weird? πŸ˜› Either way this perfume lasts ages and as it’s a huge 100ml bottle it’s going to last me a while! I’ll soon be writing up a post about this as it’s just too good to NOT write about!

  • Nails Inc Nail Polish in South Molton Street.

I’ve had this nail polish for a while, well over a year and I really do love it. I have a back up bottle of this ready for when this one runs out and in all honesty it’s my most used nail polish ever, yes, ever! It’s a gorgeous French manicure pink and as it’s only light and a pretty natural shade of pink, I can wear it for work and it’ll make my nails look healthier than they already are. As well as that it just looks nice all the time. I need to really review this polish as even without a top coat this has lasted at work without chipping for nearly a week! That’s good if you ask me, seeing as I do all sorts at work that would probably chip most if not all polishes, with out without a top coat.

DSC_0422

  • Philosophy Lip Shine in Candy Cane.

I’ve owned this lip shine for a while now (review here) and I have used it on and off since then. I used it throughout November alongside my Viva Glam Nicki lipstick by MAC (review here) for work and they both looked beautiful together! As well as that I found that wearing this on its own for work was quiet nice and made a change to just a lip balm or a tinted lip gloss. It moisturises as well as tastes amazing and even plumps your lips due to the menthol that the Candy Cane leaves behind. There’s more about this on my review if you wish to know more. I love this though and I can see me using it loads over December due to Christmas time!

  • MAC Lipstick in Speak Louder.

Oh my God, this was by far one of my favourite things that I bought during November! I’m not going to talk too much about it here as I’m going to writing a review to be scheduled at some point this month, exciting eh? Anyhoo this lipstick is beautiful! It’s a cremesheen so it leaves the lips feeling creamy and moisturised as you wear the lipstick itself. I’ve been wearing this loads, for work, when popping to the shops, as well as when I see my boyfriend over the weekend. It’s amazing and will look great anytime of year. I’m so glad I finally have this lipstick, I can’t wait to review it!

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Balm.

This always seems to creep into my favourites when autumn and winter are upon us. My lips don’t get chapped too badly as I just smoother them in lip balm but when they do, this stuff usually saves my lips! This being said my lips are beautiful and soft at the moment and it’s thanks to this for keeping them that way. I have a tube of this at home by my bed as well as one in my handbag for when I’m out and about. As well as using this whenever my lips need some care, I always use this as a base for my MAC lipsticks, so since Speak Louder coming into my life, this has also made more of an appearance too. I love this stuff and the bonus fact that it smells of chocolate just makes me realise how much I love it after spring and summer.

So those were my monthly favourite! Which products did you enjoy during November? Let me know in the comments down below!

I hope everyone had an amazing November and here’s to a festive December!

Until next time take care all and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

August Empties

DSC_0018

Wow, I don’t think I have ever used up so many products for an empties post before! I used up loads throughout August because I want to try and bring in some nice new things to try when the colder months start to come upon us soon. Plus I want room around my bath as well as in my cupboards. Glad to have the extra space now to be honest. πŸ˜›

DSC_0019

  • Imperial Leather For Men Purify Hair & Body Wash.

Yes I know this is for men but this is such a lovely shower gel to own. It reminds me of when I was little and would smell all my Dad’s various aftershave and lovely smelling men. It only costs a Β£1 and lasts for quite a while. It has a very fresh masculine smell and I tend to use this if I’m feeling tired and grumpy as it just gives me that energy that I need to get me through the day. The smell lasts on your skin for ages too. I usually pick one of these up for my Dad as this is actually his, not mine but I finished the bottle off for him the other day as I plan to buy him a new bottle next week. Get this if you like masculine smells or if your boyfriend/husband keeps using your shower gel.

  • Imperial Leather Precious Night Blooming Jasmine & Cotton Milk Body Wash Gel.

My Mom actually brought this up to the bathroom after saying she didn’t want it anymore and thought I might like trying it. It was okay, but I don’t know if I would but this myself. I’ve used Imperial Leather’s body wash gels before and they’re really nice and easy to use if you need to quickly have a wash or want to shave your legs with something nice. I tried to shave my legs with this and it was terrible, the gels aren’t as good for this as they used to be. It smelt really nice and was a real treat to use after a busy day at work if I just wanted to jump in the shower and jump back out again. I remember seeing that Imperial Leather have a lemon and lime version of this, I’d love to try it so I think I might pick one up to try in the future. Glad to see the back of this though, was clogging up the side of my bath!

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser For Dry Skin.

This was mentioned in my May favourites and although I loved it back then, I’m glad to see it in my bin! This product was great to be perfectly honest and was an essential when I was getting ready to go to work and out and about. I didn’t need to worry about moisturising everyday and took a weight off of my mind. However after a while this just seemed like a chore to use and it got left for a while. I remembered it this month though and thought it was time to finish the bottle and throw it away. I didn’t have much left and I’m rather glad. I have considered re-purchasing this but I think I need to stop being so damn lazy and just start moisturising my skin again. I do recommend this to people who don’t have time to moisturise as it’s a great product!

  • Tesco Gentle Cleansing Bath Bubbles.

This was an amazing product and I know I’ll be re-purchasing ASAP. I could be less of a stingy bitch and opt for Johnson’s Baby Bubbles but I thought these did a great job for the money. It smells just like Johnson’s and reminds me of when I was a little girl, something that is comforting to bathe in after a rough day. After a while I was using this as a shower gel and then eventually as a shaving gel/foam. This lathered up really well on the skin and made shaving easier than it usually is. I’m actually rather sad that this has run out now, but as I said I’ll be buying a new bottle as soon as I can.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo.

I’m really sad to see this finished, especially as I can’t afford another bottle. When my Mom gave me this I couldn’t wait to see the back of it as I just couldn’t get along with it, but after a while I realised what I could do to make it work and key presto, we worked together in harmony. This shampoo was lovely and smelt just like oranges and lemons. You didn’t need much to get a good lather, just very wet hair and a 50 pence piece amount would go all over my hair (which as you know is really long and thick!) which makes a really nice change. I would buy this shampoo again in future, but I’ve got my eye on one I really want to try out when I next have money. But this left my hair soft, smooth and with lots of shine.

  • Tesco Moisturising Bath Bubbles.

This is pretty much the same as the gentle bath bubbles, only not as universal. I tried to shave using this and it didn’t work whatsoever and left me with that horrible, uncomfortable pain you get with dry shaving. This was lovely to use in the bath too, as this left my skin baby soft and the same was accomplished when I used it as a shower gel too. I might re-purchase this in the future, but I’d find myself going for a scented bubble bath over this one to be honest. Not a bad product though!

  • Carex Nature Protect Hand Wash.

As regular readers will know, I love Carex hand washes and I also have eczema so I’m always on the search for a hand wash that will calm it down a little. This hand wash smelt amazing as it contains manuka honey and oat milk, which is a smell I love quite frankly but its “moistursing action” as it claims to have on the back, was none existent for my skin. From day one of using this hand wash my hands continued to be dry and flaky, which isn’t an attractive thing at all! I couldn’t wait to use this up and as soon as I found the Cola Bottles and Strawberry Laces versions by Carex this hand wash was quickly finished and replaced. Won’t be buying it again as it just did NOTHING for my skin, infact I feel like it made my hands worse as since it being in my empties bag my skin has improved. I’m sure this is just my skin trolling me and not the actual product by the way.

  • Carex Cola Bottles Hand Wash.

I’ve mentioned this before on an empties list hereΒ  and it’ll continue to find its way here until the sad day comes upon us when Carex discontinue it… Which I hope isn’t soon. It smells just like fizzy cola bottles, makes my skin look and feel nice and it’s just perfect for children. Nothing more I can say about this really and I know I’ll continue to re-purchase it!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I LOVE this eye balm and I can’t wait to get my hands on another tube. This stuff is quite pricey for a 15ml tube but it lasts absolutely AGES! It’s a cooling balm that leaves your eyes feeling more awake and cooled, perfect for if your eyes are tired and ache after a crap nights sleep. You need the tiniest amount underneath your eyes and just gently dab into the skin using your ring finger. I’ll be reviewing this in future as it’s just too good not to. I have mentioned this before on my March and June favourites if you would like to read more about it.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Crystallised Honey & Passion Flower Face Mask.

This mask was VILE and by far the worse one I have ever used. You warm it up, apply, leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash off. I decided to have a bath when I used this so left it in my bath for about 15 minutes whilst I shaved and washed my face ready to pop the mask on. The mask was a gel textured when warm which I thought was odd, so I popped it on. After wearing the mask for 5 minutes I tasted something sweet on the corners of my mouth and when I looked in the mirror to see if it was the mask, I was shocked to see the whole mask was melting off of my face! I immediately washed it off and two days later I broke out in terrible spots. Thanks a lot face mask. I won’t be buying this again, that’s for sure!

So those were all my empties from August! I’m not sure if I’ll have that many again for a while, but I’m sure I’ll have enough to make a post in October.

I can’t believe it’s September already, can you?

What products did you use up this month? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care and I hope everyone has a good weekend!
