What I Got For My 29th Birthday

I cannot believe we’re nearly two weeks into January! The month is already going by quickly and I cant say as I like it. 😛

As I always do, I thought I’d write about what gifts I received for my 29th birthday. Like Christmas, I love reading gifts that people receive for both that and of course for birthdays too!

Since the 21st December I haven’t stopped and this weekend I’ll be doing sod all! I just want to relax and not worry about doing anything in all honesty. The only thing I want to do is clean my bathroom and play games. 😛 Nice mixture of adulthood and childhood right there. 😛

Anyhoo, without further ado, I’m going to show you all the wonderful gifts I received!

I started off the day by opening with Dane’s parents had bought me, which I was surprised by! I couldn’t believe that they’d not only bought me the Elodie the Unicorn humidifier as well as some essential oils to use with it! There are three essential oils in the box which are lavender, tea tree and eucalyptus. Since Sunday night we’ve been using this every evening whilst we sleep and it works so lovely! So far I’ve used the eucalyptus essential oil as I’ve felt like I’ve had a bit of a head cold the past couple of days and it works so great!

Seeing as this is an Elodie the Unicorn item and I’ve mentioned their stuff before on my blog, would you like me to review this humidifier? Make sure to let me know in the comments! 😀

After opening my adorable humidifier I opened the gifts that Dane had bought me. I was rather excited for what he’d bought as bar one thing, I didn’t have a clue about the others!

First of all the item(s) I knew about receiving are these amazing Pokemon Center Pokemon Doll pin badges! I started to collect these over a year ago and had been picking them up in dribs and drabs. As there was three I was missing, I decided I wanted to finish off my collection, but that was proving easier said than done considering these seem to now be discontinued. Then I found the three I needed on Asakura-Japan, an eBay and online store me and Dane use whenever we’re after certain things from Japan. I’d asked Dane for these for quite some time whenever he asked what I wanted for Christmas, birthday etc and Christmas he finally decided to order them! However, they got lost in the post and it sucked. He felt guilty and seemed a bit bummed about it as it seemed the Royal Mail had misplaced them at our local depot. He got his money back though and the seller offered Dane a discount so he could reorder them, which he was hesitant to do. However, I really wanted the pins so ordered them myself with a discount code I had myself for eBay. Dane being Dane sent me the money I’d spent on the pins and when they arrived he wrapped them up and popped them into my birthday bag. 🙂

As you can see I have three of the original four Eeveelutions, Eevee, Jolteon and Flareon. I’m so chuffed to have all 9 Eeveelutions pin badges now! I plan to buy a frame and some cork board from IKEA so I can make a nice little frame to hang up in the house. 🙂 I’ll definitely post about the making of this as and when I do it!

The next gift I received I had a feeling was a Nendoroid, but when it comes down to these gifts both me and Dane always open them last as they’re classed as our “big” or “main” presents from one another. I wasn’t quite sure which Nendoroid it would be in all honesty as I know Dane struggled to get me one as most of them I want right now I’ve either pre ordered myself, or are sold out in most places.

Alas, I opened it to see he’d bought me the casual version of Yuri Katsuki from Yuri on Ice. He’s so gorgeous and in all honesty I worried I would never get it to add to my Yuri on Ice collection. I remember when he was announced, I was so excited for him to come out so now that I have him, I can’t wait to get him into a cute position and pop him with the rest of my Yuri on Ice babies! 😀

The Nendoroid also came with a wooden Yuri Katsuki charm, which is so cute! He’s sat on the floor with an ice skate in his hands. I plan to keep him on my backpack alongside my Persona 5 Joker charm.

The final present that Dane bought me is by far my favourite gift and one that is so cute and thoughtful. He knew I’d had my eye on the Pokemon Pop’n Step figures for a while now and being the cutie that he is, he found the Eevee one and bought it for me. I actually think with this present he was more excited for me to open it than I was! 😛

This is amazing though and I couldn’t be happier with it! It plays three songs from the original Red, Blue and Yellow games which is cool. You click the button on the right and Eevee will dance to the music played. If you push that button again it stops the music. The button on the left is the volume, which is muted, low or high. We tried muting the music so you could hear how Eevee dances without it and it’s amazing that you can still tell what the songs are without the music.

I especially love how you can connect these to the other Pokemon Pop’n Step figures, but this is also dangerous because I want them all now. 😛 Honestly though I love this gift so much, it made me so happy for almost an hour the day I received it and the day after. The Eevee’s little face is just so magical to look at whilst it dances.

So those are all the gifts that Dane bought for me! I also received some money from family. The money I was gifted from my mom is being saved until I’m paid next month, so for now it’s saved for a rainy day. The money my dad gifted me went towards a new Pandora charm for my bracelet, this charm being the Bobby Bot Dog charm that I’ve been eyeing up for some time now. It’s so damn cute and the online store didn’t do it justice. I love it so much and every time I look at it, I think of my dad. 🙂

The rest of the money I received went towards some bits and pieces whilst shopping in town on my birthday, including some Lush products which were Christingle Naked Body Conditioner (which was in the sale), The Big Banana Massage Bar (which smells amazing! I don’t quite know what I plan how/where I wish to use this yet. It was tested on Dane and smelt too good to pass up!) and Six Yellow and Red Reusable Bubble Bar (which smells JUST LIKE YOG NOG! One of my favourite Lush scents!).

I plan to try and review Six (Yellow and Red) Reusable Bubble Bar reviewed on my blog before Valentine’s Day, so keep eyes peeled for that. 🙂

I also picked up the Blu-ray of Mary and the Witch’s Flower as it was only £9.99! I planned to watch it when me and Dane got home from town on my birthday, but we were too tired and just chilled out together in bed and read manga.

Finally I picked myself a little something up that I’d been eyeing up before Christmas. It’s the Loungefly Pokemon Eevee Embossed Tri-Fold Wallet which I mentioned before Christmas I’d wanted, but had sold out and I was gutted about. I still kept it saved on my Amazon wish list just in case it came back, WHICH IT DID! I was so happy and as soon as I saw it was back up for sale, I made sure to order it. I didn’t want to miss out on it again and for it to be permanent the next time. It arrived a few days later and it’s gorgeous and even better than I thought it was going to be! It’s a lovely vintage brown colour with a picture of a happy Eevee on the front. When you open it up there’s a gorgeous floral pattern inside of the wallet.

This is the same style as my current wallet (which is also by Loungefly) so I can transfer loads of stuff into it easily from my old wallet, which I’ll do as soon as this post is written, as I can’t wait to use it later today! 😛

So, that was everything I received and even bought for myself. 😛 I loved my birthday this year, even if it did go far too quickly for my liking. I went to town for the afternoon with Dane, went to Ghetto Golf with Dane and friends and went for a meal with Dane after. It wasn’t anything special, but it was good nonetheless.

I don’t quite know what to ask at the end of this post other than, when is your birthday? 😀 Make sure to let me know!

I hope everyone is ready for the weekend, I know I am! 😛

Until next time all, have a lovely weekend!

Wish List Wednesday – Deadpool 2

This is a post I never thought I would make and HOLY SHIT am I excited for Deadpool 2! I loved when it came out and I still do love that film. Me and Dane discussed for ages if Ryan Reynolds would return to do another film and we weren’t shocked when it was announced. We booked to go and see it at the end of April and I cannot wait to go and see it next week with Dane. We’re going to make an evening of it, go watch the film and have a meal. I’m so excited!

If you’re an old reader of my blog you’ll know that my boyfriend Dane did a wish list Wednesday post for me 2 years ago when the first Deadpool came out. If you’d like to read that post, you can find it here.

Now we have another film out, I thought it would be fun to do a wish list post myself this time! I’ve wanted to do this since we finally booked the tickets to go and watch the film. I cannot explain how excited I am for it. ARGH!!!

Anyway, enough! On with the wish list!

  • Deadpool 5-Pack Ladies Socks – (link)

First of all for an officially licensed product, 5 pairs of socks for £6.99 to me is such a bargain! I’d love to get these as I’d wear them with my Vans at work for whenever I wear my short trousers (I don’t have a clue what they’re called!) at work. I recently started to wear my Eeveelutions socks like this for work and it’s cool thinking that I’m bringing a bit of my geeky self to work, without being out there about it, you know? Also as well as that these would be great to wear around the house, as well as out and about.

  • Deadpool Mystery Minis – (link)

My friend Sophie brought these to my attention quite some time ago and I’ve always had them at the back of my mind, but when doing some research for this post I stumbled across them and remembered how much I did want them a few months back. I’d still love one or two of these to have on my desk at work and in my car. You can buy a whole set of them from forbiddenplanet.co.uk but I don’t need to do that. I’ll just get myself (and maybe Dane for shits and giggles!) a couple to open for a laugh.

  • Loungefly Marvel Deadpool Tattoo Flash Print Mini Faux Leather Backpack – (link)

Oh man if anyone knows me, they’ll know I love Loungefly. Even recently I bought myself a new Loungefly bag (which you can see and read about here) and I love my Pokemon Loungefly bag to bits (which you can read here)! When I discovered Geek La Chic recently through Estellosaurus I had a nose on their website and discovered that they stock Loungefly bags! I’m not going to lie, they’re bloody expensive in comparison to some websites out there (GAME and EMP come to mind right now) but man, would I LOVE a Deadpool Loungefly bag. Deadpool is my favourite Marvel character, I have to show that love through Loungefly at some point in the future.

  • Deadpool Notebook – (link)

I don’t need a new notebook… But if this was being sold for cheaps I’d want to pick it up to keep on my desk at work. My 2017 journal was Deadpool and I loved it so much! I currently have a 101 Dalmatians Cath Kidston notebook as my 2018 journal right now and sadly I don’t use it half as much as I did with my Deadpool one. I really need to tbf.

  • Deadpool Wipe Your Feet Door Mat – (link)

Me and Dane already own a Deadpool door mat, it isn’t this one BUT I think we both need this one now. We want to get a door mat for our back door and this is just the best timing ever. I’m going to pick it up at some point in the future. Why not have Deadpool for both our front and back doors, eh?

  • Deadpool Katana Umbrella – (link)

I don’t need an umbrella, but how amazing is this one? The picture above isn’t really doing this justice. When you open it you have a picture of Deadpool, of course. The main thing I love about this umbrella is that you can carry it across your body! This would be handy to have when out and about, as the one thing I really hate doing is carrying an umbrella! It’s so tedious and it can’t be just me who feels like that?! It looks like a huge umbrella too, which is even better.

  • Deadpool Geeki Tiki – (link)

This is by far my favourite item on this wish list! I mean, do I really need to say fuck all about it? Look how awesome it is!!! I’m not a massive tiki glass person but only in the sense of I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy one, BUT these are awesome. I’ve already had a nose at what others you can buy, but my favourite just has to be the Deadpool one. I especially love that it’s red, which would match with my kitchen perfectly! I wouldn’t just keep this for alcoholic drinks, I’d use it for any drink imaginable.

  • Deadpool Ladies Eyes Tee – (link)

I’m really after a new Deadpool tee lately. I recently had a look at the ones that Primark have for sale and whilst they’re pretty good for the monies, they’re nothing special. I love both the colour and style of it and it’s one of the best I’ve seen for ages. They do this for men too, as well as women.

  • Deadpool Spatula With Removable Mask – (link)

I think I’ll end up buying this because 1. It’s cheap and 2. It’s absolutely amazing! I mean look at it! I’m never going to say no to adding a Deadpool spatula into my kitchen in all honesty. I might try and pick these up soon and actually gift them to Dane for a giggle for our fifth anniversary next month, which I can’t believe that in all honesty, it’s really flown! I love that you can change Deadpool’s faces on this though, I wouldn’t know which to use really. 😛

So that’s my wish list Wednesday this time and as I’ve already said, it just HAD to be Deadpool related! I’m so stoked to go and watch it next week. It’s officially out Friday 18th but I know it’ll be around from Tuesday 16th so if you haven’t booked tickets or made plans yet, get on it! Deadpool 2 will be here before we know it.

Will you be going to watch Deadpool 2? If so let me know after you’ve seen it what you think! Is there any Deadpool merch you’ve seen lately and think I need to know about? Let me know in the comments, as always.

Anyhoo, I hope you all had an amazing bank holiday Monday, as well as an awesome weekend. Until next time, take care all and see you soon!

September ’16 Wish List

Gosh I really struggled to get this wish list put together this month and I really don’t know why! I did feel like I was lusting after more things coming up to September but alas that doesn’t appear to be the case.

I managed to scrape a list together mind and I can actually see September being a very naughty month for me… I would have included the Kat Von D items I’m hoping to pick up from Debenhams mid September but I want to have a separate post for that.

But for now here is my wish list for September, woohoo!

 photo September 2016 Wish List_zpswkbnq9hz.jpg

  • Beauty Bakerie Matte Lip Whip in She’s Just Jelly – £15.95 (link)

As regular readers of my blog will know I love wearing lipsticks and especially liquid lipsticks. Although I love my Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lipsticks I am always open to trying other brands. I have heard nothing but great things about Beauty Bakerie and would love to give their matte lip whips a go! I’ve had my eye on She’s Just Jelly which is a lovely dark purple shade, which will be perfect for autumn and winter.

  • Oh K! Cherry Blossom Hand Cream – £6.50 (link)

I’ve heard quite a bit about Oh K! recently from various bloggers and it looks like such an adorable brand, very kawaii! I have wanted something from the range for quite a while now but I hadn’t quite seen anything I liked the look of until now. I love hand cream and can never get enough of it, I put this down to my eczema… But how adorable is the packaging for this hand cream??? It’s an adorable panda and I would make sure to keep reusing the pot after using the hand cream up. Plus it has a cherry blossom scent, can’t get any better than that eh? I’ll be keeping my eye on this and picking it up when I need a treat.

  • Blink-182 California Album – £4.99 (link)

I have listened to this album already… Many times in fact and I love it so much! I haven’t listened to an album like this for a long time where I just want to keep listening to it, so I’m really pleased about that as you may have guessed. The band just seem better off without Tom DeLonge and instead with Matt Skiba. I always preferred +44 because their music just wasn’t kiddy and silly all the time. If you loved +44 like I did then you will love Blink-182 now Tom has gone!  I don’t know if I’ll buy this as a CD, instead I might just pick it up on iTunes. I can’t believe how cheap CD’s are now!

  • Soft Kitty Clothing Pastel Pika Dress – £17.00 (link)

I’m a sucker for lycra clothing, usually Black Milk Clothing but 1. they’re super expensive and 2. they haven’t yet released a Pokemon collection. I recently discovered Soft Kitty Clothing through a seller on Depop and decided to check out the clothing on their website for myself. Well there really are some little gems on there, including this dress. I’m a massive Pokemon nerd so this dress is really up my street, and at £17.00 it’s a complete bargain too. I don’t know if I’ll ever buy this to be honest as whilst I am brave enough to wear all sorts out and about, I don’t know if I would be able to feel confident in this dress… I guess teamed up with some nice shoes and a cool jacket I could pull it off… We shall see. I would love if they made an Eeveelutions or Mew dress.

  • Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask – £10.57 (link)

If you haven’t heard or seen people talking about this mask on blogs and YouTube then you need to crawl up from under your rock and get searching. This is a Korean face mask that everyone seems to be trying at the moment. It’s a mask that reacts with oxygen to foam up and expand, and let me tell you it looks really cool! I’ll pop the link to where Bunny over at grav3yardgirl tried it. I really want to give this a go as not only does it look cool but it actually sounds like an awesome face mask to try.

  • Village Candle Wax Melts in Sugarplum Fairy – £3.90 (link)

Village Candle are a brand I haven’t tried before but Dane has and they are beautiful candles. Just as good as Yankee Candle’s to be honest. Near to where I live someone was selling these in a store so I got to smell pretty much all the scents. Sadly when I went to go and purchase this she had left and was only selling online from then on. Was a real shame to be honest but meh at least I can buy from her online. Sugarplum Fairy is a scent that I can’t really describe… All I can say about it is that it smells sweet and reminds me of something I would have smelt and fallen in love with as a child. I’m burning wax tarts like crazy of late so I would love to add these to my collection in the future.

  • Build A Bear Pokemon Eevee Set – £48.50 (link)

I have saved the best until last for this post and this is definitely something I will be buying as soon as I am paid (in 6 days!!!!!) as I really want it! I heard about the rumor of an Eevee joining the Build A Bear store but I didn’t quite believe it… That is until pictures leaked. Due to all the leaks and excitement around this teddy Build A Bear decided to release it early. AHHH! At the time of writing this post the Eevee came out today, and has already sold out in America. I know it’s expensive but there is a reason for that. You get the Eevee, two outfits, a voice box inside so it can speak and a limited edition Pokemon card exclusively for Build A Bear. I really want to order this right now, but I’m skint so I won’t be able to. Plus it’s now out of stock in the UK… Sad times. This is so damn cute! I’d end up keeping it downstairs in the living room to snuggle into whilst watching TV with Dane. I’m such a big kid, I don’t even care!

So that was my wish list for September! What goodies do you have your eye on this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time all take care and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far.

Photo Diary Adventure – London

I have literally just got back from a trip to London to visit my friend Sophi, and it was very much needed! They house has been very stressful to say the least and my trip to London came up in good time. I booked the trip back in April/May, and due to that it cost me next to sod all! Only £6.00 each way! Can I hear a woo to the motherfuckin’ hoo??!!

Anyway… I decided I would do a little photo diary of my trip down to “the big smoke” (as my dad calls it), because why not?

Due to my anxiety I was really nervous about traveling on my own, but it was really straight forward. I just had to get on a train and sit for just over two hours.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 10 04 29 am_zpswgdbrosg.jpg

My dad gave me a lift to New Street half an hour before my train was due, which I liked as it gave me time to grab a magazine, a drink (I drink a flat white with vanilla if you were curious), and get to my platform in time to get a good seat.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 10 34 18 am_zpsdie3zihu.jpg

I managed to grab a good a window seat with a table which was good as it meant I could lean on the table and do some writing. Throughout the journey I did just that whilst listening to my music and wrote some blog posts. I was also talking to a lovely woman from New Zealand throughout the journey, and she was telling me how she had been traveling around Europe for nine weeks, and was getting close to her trip ending.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 12 42 19 pm_zps186tvalb.jpg

Finally after the two hour and a bit journey I arrived at London Euston, and was greeted by Sophi up by The Body Shop. YAY! I was pleased that she was able to meet me as I was anxious about getting lost attempted to get out of Euston, or going down to the underground. London does set off my anxiety a tad, even though from this trip I feel more comfortable about it now.

Day I Arrived:

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 2 15 41 pm_zpsq2p95vio.jpg

As soon as we met up we decided that food was needed, and went to YO! Sushi for some lunch. We had a good gossip whilst we had our food and it was pretty standard for YO! Sushi really. If you know what I mean.

Soon as we finished our food we headed to the shops, starting off at M&M World. Me and Dane were meant to go there when we were in London last year, but we never did and so I wanted to see what I missed out on! Not going to lie… I didn’t miss much.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 3 02 05 pm_zpsn3nhvjkw.jpg

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 3 05 47 pm_zpsdxfws9aq.jpg

Don’t get me wrong, M&M World was good and is definitely somewhere you need to go at least once, but the only thing I liked about it was the pictures I got to take with Sophi. A lot of the products for sale were well overpriced and whilst they were nice, I wouldn’t buy them for myself. Only a massive M&M fan will get a kick from this place. Alas, I didn’t. It was cool though, and I loved nosing at all the stuff that they had on offer, especially the create your own M&M’s! But they were extortionate prices so I left it… Otherwise I would have bought some for me and Dane for when we move into the house.

The next shop we popped in was just next door, which is the Nickelodeon Shop. I prayed that they would sell some Adventure Time goodies, but sadly they didn’t. The majority of stuff for sale in there wasn’t anything I was really interested in, such as Spongebob Square Pants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Paw Patrol, and Dora the Explorer. They did have something I was interested in mind, even if the section was only small. The Rugrats selection they had wasn’t very big, with only four pieces of clothing on offer, including the t-shirt that I picked up. I will show it off a lot better on a haul post soon, but I love this t-shirt so much! I loved watched the show growing up, so it has some nostalgia to it.

After that we had a walk around various places all the while including (name of shop) which is an old sweet shop, where I got a few goodies, Hamley’s, Japan Centre, and then we went to Choccywoccydoodah!

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 5 39 38 pm_zpsc7ofeoyh.jpg

Choccywoccydoodah is a chocolate shop that also make cakes. But the store in London has a café at the top of the shop which me and Sophi ventured to for a naughty chocolate lunch. I had never heard of it until she told me about it, and insisted that we go. It was pretty damn amazing to be honest… The café that is! It was all done out and reminded me of Moulin Rouge. We had orange lemonade and some dark chocolate melted in pots with biscuits to dunk. It was a real treat to say the least and I’ll definitely be going again, especially with Dane.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 5 45 53 pm_zpsp5a7rjgm.jpg

As much as I loved the café upstairs I sadly can’t say I felt the same about the shop downstairs. I’m being honest, but I just found that it looked tacky and was crazily overpriced. I guess I’m just a boring cow and love my cakes plain and simple. Is that such a crime? Although I say this I bought me and Dane some chocolate to try, because why not?

After a spot of chocolate overdose we headed to Oxford Street, what I was most excited about! I don’t know why I love shopping on Oxford Street so much but I have a feelings it’s due to how big the shops are. Of course the first shop we had to go into was Lush, why would I pass that up?!

I had some black pots that I wanted to exchange for a face mask, and I knew for ages that I wanted to give Prince of Darkness a go. A lovely member of staff let me try it, as well as a few other face masks on the back of my hand. I knew I’d like this face mask due to the charcoal, and I cannot wait to try it and now and review it for you guys. Alongside that I also picked up a few other goodies including my Oxford Street favourite Supertramp bubble bar, and the new bath bomb Lava Lamp. I was very good to say the least and didn’t buy more things, even though strangely I didn’t want much more.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 21 30 pm_zpsfyxqrwte.jpg

After this we looked around various other shops on Oxford Street before our final destination being Topshop. Oh my God, it was huge, I couldn’t believe it to be honest. The floor you walk into is just nothing but accessories, no clothes or anything. I was taken back by how much stuff there was on the floor, including a Bubbleology, and a Lola’s Cupcakes. We bought some bubble tea from there to drink, and I’m not going to sugar coat it, the staff were rude and it wasn’t made properly. I drink bubble tea a lot and watch how it’s made, so I know when it’s been right or not.

 photo Photo 13-06-2016 7 35 41 pm_zpsflnuvyna.jpg

Other than that, I wasn’t completely disappointed by my trip into the Oxford Street Topshop. I ended up buying a real treat from there that I will love for years, my new yellow raincoat. YES I said yellow! 😛 I will talk more about it in my haul that will be up in a few days, but I wore this for the majority of my stay in London, and it was so cosy, and warm, and of course was waterproof for all the crap rain we had down there. I cannot wait to do some look book posts with it.

After that we finally decided to call it a day and headed home. We stayed up until late nattering away about all sorts, as well as planning what we could do the next day!

Day One:

I woke up bright and early for the long, and exciting day ahead of us. In fact I woke up a whole two hours before Sophi did! It was because a delivery van woke me up and I couldn’t get back to sleep so I decided to text Dane for a while as he got ready for work, and was at the house. I also sorted out my suitcase by putting stuff in there what I had bought the day before.

The weather wasn’t exactly amazing whilst I was down there and the majority of the time it rained… The full day I was there wasn’t any different and it rained a lot! Good job I had my new raincoat, eh? 😛

Something I loved about getting the train from where Sophi lives (Harlow) is on the way into London you can see the gherkin, and The Shard! I had to of course get a sneaky picture of this.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 1 34 28 pm_zpsvxq9t5wp.jpg

We had already decided months before that we would be going shopping at the Stratford shopping centre, but not until we had gone to Bubba Gump Shrimp for lunch! I wanted to go when me and Dane were in London but as never really got time, and we worried we wouldn’t like what was on the menu, as he isn’t a massive fan of fish.

I really enjoyed going there, and I loved the food we shared too. Sophi had been before, she knew what to recommend for us to eat. When I had looked at the menu back when I ordered my train tickets I decided on a chicken burger, but what’s the point in going to a shrimp restaurant if you eat chicken??? Exactly! In the end I decided on a cherry fizzer drink, and for food we ordered garlic bread (which let me tell you were HUGE!), shrimp shack mac & cheese, and Forrest’s seafood feast.

Not only did I enjoy the food, but I loved the decor of the restaurant too! To make it better, they had Forrest Gump playing in the background, which I loved. It isn’t the cheapest place in the world, but £39 for two people and drinks wasn’t bad in my eyes. I would and will gladly go again.

 photo Photo 14-06-2016 4 08 03 pm_zpsaqqnwehf.jpg

So our next stop was the Stratford shopping centre! Which I was really excited to go to as I have heard nothing but good things about it from Sophi, and I also heard how big it is before I went down to London. If you’ve never been, it is like two Birmingham Bullring’s, if not bigger than that!

I saw various things I liked and wanted to buy, and various things I liked and ended up being naughty and picking up. These are in my haul post here.

The one thing I really regret not picking up was this Deadpool picture from HMV. I can’t even find it on the website to order! As I always say on majority of my posts these days, I love Deadpool, and so does Dane. I would love this picture to put up in the spare room, as it would just look awesome! It wasn’t cheap at £14.99, but to be honest I don’t mind paying that for Deadpool. I can see me picking this up next time I’m near a HMV.

I also eyed up this Totoro bento box in The Japan Centre, but I didn’t get it because of the size of it, and I don’t really need it. It was only £12.99, so maybe next time I’ll pick one up!

Then after I was shopped out and very tired, me and Sophi headed home (aka her flat) and relaxed for the evening. We had something to eat, and watched Lilo and Stitch before we went to bed. I was shattered so we got an early night. Before I went to sleep I tidied my suitcase so that I wouldn’t need to do it the  next day.

Going Home:

It was time to head home, and as my train wasn’t due to leave until 2.13pm it meant we could chill out for a while in the flat before heading into London. We didn’t do much really, just made sure my bag was all packed and such, as well as have some breakfast and get showered and dressed.

We left the house nice and early to make sure we were in Euston for time to have a coffee before I left and a chat. We popped to Starbucks and Sophi treated me to their new S’Mores drink (which was really nommy!) and a toastie. I showed her Bee & Puppycat, and we chatted about what she could do with the rest of her day.

Eventually it came to be time for me to get onto my train, and I was really sad to be saying goodbye. I had an amazing couple of days with Sophi, and I honestly cannot wait to do it again soon!

My train journey wasn’t as quiet as it was going into London, and I couldn’t wait for people to get off at stops so I could just chill out. I was going to try and get a blog post or two written, but in the end I just played games on my phone and listened to music.

Eventually I got back to New Street, and good ol’ Brum with my dad waiting to pick me up.

As much as I loved London and seeing Sophi, I just wanted to get back home so I could give Dane his box of goodies, as well as start working on the house again. It was nice to have a break and escape reality for a while, but you can’t run away forever.

I’m hoping to go down to London again soon to stay with Sophi, as it’s just too much fun to wait until Christmas to go again! I also apologise for not having so many pictures towards the end of this post, I was kinda too busy to take anymore. 😛

I’m hoping to start doing more photo diary related posts, as I love reading things like this myself. Did you enjoy this style of post from me? Make sure to let me know in the comments! If you liked it, I’ll certainly do more.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you have a great weekend.

London Haul

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 04 53 pm_zps72nthk0b.jpg

Wow what a long week it has been since returning from London! Of course I do apologise for how quiet I have been the past two weeks, but as I said on my Twitter account, I have been way too busy with the house to think or have time to do anything with my blog. Sorry about this, but I know that my regular readers understand, and for this I love you all and thank you as much as I can!

I have just got back from London after visiting my good friend Sophi, and I had an amazing time! I ended up spending more than I intended to as we went shopping around London, as well as in Stratford shopping centre. So I thought why not show all my lovelies what I bought down in the smoke!

I said from the start of my trip to London that I wouldn’t buy any clothing, as I don’t need any, but I found that was the majority of what I bought. Oops! I picked up three t-shirts, and a coat.

The first t-shirt I picked up was this Rugrats Reptar one from the Nickelodeon shop in London. It wasn’t cheap to be honest at £20, but I thought it would make a nice treat and was a real throwback to my childhood as I loved watching Rugrats growing up. So much so that I still watch it to this day if I fancy a bit of a nostalgia trip. As you can see it’s a purple t-shirt, with Reptar on, as well as his name in metallic pink writing. You can pick this up online here.

The second and third t-shirts that I bought were both from HMV, not usually a place you would think sold clothing. They do sell t-shirts though, usually relating to bands, TV shows, movies, and games, etc. You get the point! These two t-shirts were both £12.99 each, however HMV have an offer where you can buy two for £20, which is a bargain really! So of course I took them up on that offer, because it would have been rude not to.

The Harley Quinn one is to coincide with The Suicide Squad, as it’s meant to be the same as the t-shirt she wears in the movie (which FYI I am excited to see when it comes out!). I just love the design of it, it’ll be something nice to rock in the summer with shorts… Like Harley Quinn really! A girl I work with (Hi Rhi! ^_^) has this t-shirt too, and I heard about it from her before my trip to London. As you can probably gather this is a woman’s t-shirt. Sadly any men out there who want it won’t find it in HMV. I would have linked back to this for people to look into buying from HMV, but it isn’t on the website sadly.

I also picked up a Deadpool t-shirt from HMV. It had to be done, as I LOVE Deadpool and I knew whilst I was in London I wanted to pick up some Deadpool goodies, or at least one. This was the only thing I actually managed to pick up, and I don’t regret it. This is a pretty straight forward tee with just a picture of Deadpool with his arms folded, nothing spectacular or special. I don’t mind that to be perfectly honest. This is a mans tee, sorry ladies they don’t have any specifically for us! I don’t mind this though as I picked up a smaller size so it would fit snug on me. You can find this on the website, and I have linked it here for you.

As well as the two t-shirts I picked up from HMV I also bought myself a few other things, not clothing related. I picked up these Kurt Cobain pin badges for my backpack, as during my trip to London I decided that I would start to use it again more often. I love Nirvana and Kurt so I though it would be cool to get some badges with his face on them. These were a steal at £3.99 and I can’t wait to pop a few on my backpack. I also picked up a DVD copy of Forrest Gump after visiting Bubba Gump Shrimp. It’s a film I’ve been meaning to buy and add to my collection for some time now, as it’s one of my favourite films. I put it on for me and Dane to watch when I got back from London, and I cried so many times that I ended up losing count. Oh dear. 😦 It was another bargain at only £2.99!

My favourite purchase of my trip to London was definitely my new coat, a yellow raincoat! I have been after one of Topshop’s raincoats for years now, and every time I saw one I liked the look of it seemed to sell out really quickly, if not straight away. I saw this one in the Oxford Street store and decided to grab it with both hands before I was never able to buy one again! I’ve bought it two sizes too big for me so it didn’t feel snug, but instead was more roomy and baggy. Reason being so that in autumn and winter I can layer up and not feel uncomfortable. I found from wearing it around London for a couple of days that this coat is incredibly warm, and will be perfect for rainy days! The hood is huge which I’m really pleased about, as I love any jacket, coat, or hoodie was a hood that swamps my whole face. I can’t wait to wear these with my Jake Dr Martens boots (you can read about them here) as they’re both yellow and will look amazing! With all this rain we’ve been having they’ll work perfectly together. Yay! You can fine this raincoat on Topshop’s website here.

I mentioned before that I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp whilst in London and shortly after having a meal there with Sophi, I decided I wanted to get some goodies from the gift shop. Before heading down the restaurant gave us our blue flashing glasses that we’d had drinks in. As Sophi already had a blue glass already, she kindly gave me hers so that me and Dane could have one each in the house. I love that she does things like that! I also bought two pint glasses from the gift shop, which were meant to be two for £10, but the guy only charged me £5.98 for two. I didn’t say anything and accepted how cheap they were! One is going to be for my dad whenever he comes to visit me at the house, and the other for myself and Dane to use whenever. They’re just bog standard pint glasses, which will come in handy for pop, beer, etc. By the way I do apologise for the pint glasses still being wrapped up. I don’t want to open them until me and Dane have moved into the house. But you all know what a pint glass looks like anyway! 😛

Of course I couldn’t go down to London and not pop into the Lush on Oxford Street. That would just be out of order, and it was one of the last shops me and Sophi popped into on my first day in London. I had promised Dane (and myself) that I wouldn’t buy anything… But I caved in and ended up buying two things. DOH! I took in five empty black pots and bagged myself a free pot of The Prince of Darkness face mask, which I was super happy about! I haven’t used it yet, but I hope to soon.

The two products I bought were Supertramp bubble bar, which is an exclusive to Oxford Street, and their newest bath bomb Lava Lamp (link here), which Oxford Street did release when they first opened last year, but discontinued it shortly after. I imagine to work on a better formula and scent for it… Who knows! Either way I thought I was going to go crazy and want to buy more, but alas I only really wanted to get my favourite exclusive, that being Supertramp, and I’ve always wanted to try Lava Lamp. I’ll be giving them a go soon enough and reviewing them. Woop!

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 22 52 pm_zpsmrlcrylv.jpg

The majority of the rest of things I bought were food and drinks related, either Japanese or American. I said that I would be coming back with loads of Japanese snacks, but I didn’t really think about bringing this much back! Boy do I have a lot to show…

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 22 58 pm_zps0zejm2ws.jpg

All my Japanese goodies are mostly from Japan Centre, but I also grabbed some stuff from an independent Japanese supermarket too. I bought two types of Pocky, banana and matcha (green tea), my two favourites! They cost less than a £1 each so I bought two of each, because why not! I also bought some random goodies too such as Pokemon wafers, a panda wafer, as well as three bottles of ramune soda! One is missing however due to me and Dane drinking it… Oops!

I also bought plenty of American sweets, mostly blue raspberry flavoured as they have always been my favourite. Just loads of random things. These were mostly from Gobstoppers in Stratford shopping centre, and I’m just going to say that I will never go there again. I will try the one in Birmingham to see what it’s like, but I judged the Stratford one so hard. They were selling out of date stock from over a year ago, AT FULL PRICE, the staff were rude, and they charged ridiculous prices for things you can buy in Asda for 99p. A complete joke, and I won’t be going there again…

 photo Photo 19-06-2016 9 23 02 pm_zpsrumn1bnv.jpg

Another sweet related place I bought stuff from was the legendary Choccywoccydoodah, which I had never heard about until my friend Sophi told me about it. We ventured into the cafe there, which was amazing, and to be honest (for me) the best part about it. The shop itself was lovely, with some beautiful creations, but at the same time I do feel like it was really tacky… Sorry (I’m not sorry…)! I ended up buying some chocolate, one little slab of dark (which you can buy here), and a larger slab of chocolate with green tea flavour (which you can buy here). I’m excited to try these, as the dark chocolate we had in the cafe was gorgeous! It was ridiculously overpriced to be honest, and I doubt I’ll ever buy anything from there again. I feel bitchy saying that, but it just seems a rip off for what you’re getting, especially when I’m not a huge chocolate lover anyway.

Apart from the goodies that I also picked up for Dane (a Fallout 4 Dogmeat Pop Vinyl!, a book, and some sweeties) that is all I bought! My friend Sophi gave me and Dane one of the nicest moving in presents we have received so far, with it being matching Disney mugs! Lady and The Tramp for me, and Stitch for Dane. We love them, and will be using them lots when we move into the house. She also gave me a medium Pink Sands Yankee Candle that she didn’t want, as well as a Charity Pot lotion from Lush that she didn’t want either. All the goodies! I intend to give her something very soon as a thank you for having me stay at hers whilst we were in London. That and it’s her birthday soon!

So that was all the stuff I bought whilst in London! I wish I could have ventured to more places that sold Japanese related things, but that will be for next time.

What have you bought nice for yourself lately? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all, and I hope you’re having a good week.

Random (But Small) Haul

DSC_0021

Okay now I KNOW I’m on a spending ban and that I didn’t need most of what I bought on this random trip into town… But I did buy things and there’s nothing that can be done about it now!

I have my first photography related job next Saturday and I wanted to pick up something nice to wear, plus the fact I had my eye on one of the items for a while gave me more reason to try it on and possibly buy it.

Alongside that I had to buy some other bits and bobs and I did buy a few things I didn’t need but they were less than £10 so I thought, what the hell!

I didn’t spend all that much and the things I bought I was pretty much in need of anyway or wanted to treat myself.

So, here’s my random haul from yesterday!

DSC_0028

The first shop I went into when my boyfriend and I got to town was New Look. I’ve been lusting after this dress since I saw it in one of the Coventry stores a couple of weeks ago. It’s a gorgeous 2 in 1 t-shirt dress and will be perfect for spring and summer! It’s not the thickest of materials, but that doesn’t bother me, as with a warm coat, a scarf, some thick tights and my Chelsea boots, this will look great! I’m doing my first “professional” photography job next Saturday and as the dress is smart casual, I saw the chance to finally pick up this dress! It was £14.99, which I thought was reasonable! I went to try it on in the changing rooms and it looks lovely. My only problem with this dress is that the pink top area is very see-through and due to this I had to pick up a new bra so that none of mine would show through… Which you will see in the next picture.

DSC_0025

DSC_0026

I ventured into Primark to pick up a cheap bra, as I didn’t want to splurge out on something expensive, so after trying on a few of the bras, I opted for this pink t-shirt bra. It only cost £2.50, so I couldn’t go wrong really! This being said, when I got home I tried on the bra with the dress and you can still see straight through it! But with a white vest underneath, it looks fine so my problem is now solved. Whilst I was waiting in the large queue to purchase my items, I saw that they had some Montagne Jeunesse face masks that not only sounded delicious, but ones I haven’t tried yet, so I snapped them up, at only 90p each, you can’t go wrong!

When I was on the escalator to go and look at the bras I spotted this Nirvana t-shirt on the middle floor and I was determined to go and take a look at it before I went to pay for my goods. I picked this up for just £8.00! I did have a look at the other t-shirts whilst I was in Primark and the majority of them are all My Little Pony… Odd! I tried this t-shirt on when I got home and it’s gorgeous! It’s a nice baggy, but fitted t-shirt and is super soft! I’m going to wear it next week when I go out with my friend Amy into Birmingham for the day, as well as for my cousin’s 21st birthday meal. I’m going to team it up with my newest Topshop jeans, Chelsea boots and a big coat to keep me warm.

DSC_0022

I have been after this book since I watched the film in 2013, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! I had remembered seeing it in HMV for £3 or £4 before Christmas and had regretted not picking it up! I looked online earlier this week for how much this was being sold on Amazon, Play.com, eBay, etc and they were all asking for over £4! I decided against paying out that much and that I would check in HMV the next time I ventured there. So alas upon looking for this book I found it and at just £3.99! Complete bargain and I’ll be reading this after I’ve finished the current book I’m reading, which is Simon Pegg’s autobiography, Nerd Do Well.

DSC_0024

My final stop for the day was Boots, where I just popped in to pick up some essentials, such as hand wash, toothpaste and some glasses cleaner. This isn’t the usual glasses cleaner I pick up, but it’ll do for now until I pick up what I usually use.

So that was everything I bought whilst I was odd… That and the £25 I spent buying food in YO! Sushi. My boyfriend and I couldn’t believe how much the bill came to and we’ve both said we’re never going again unless it’s on a Monday or Sunday. We much prefer Wagamama and even though it was nice trying the dishes in YO! Sushi, we somewhat wished we had gone to Wagamama now…

Altogether (apart from my food!) I spent less than £50! Not bad huh?

I know I’ve somewhat broke my spending ban, but whatever, I’ve not done too badly so far so let’s just say this was my little treat.

Have you bought anything nice recently? If so, what have you bought? Let me know in the comments down below!

I’m hoping to get some What I Wore posts up on my blog in the future, as I really do miss writing them and with my wardrobe slightly changing of late, I’d like to show off what I’ve been wearing.

So, until next time, take care all and I hope everyone has had a great week and an even greater weekend!
