Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Redrum – Review

If I wasn’t bad enough last week buying Scorpio, I bought Redrum too! But after pining and lusting after it for so long, how could I not finally pick it up?! This is one of the first shades Jeffree Star brought out, and one I wanted from the very start. I won’t lie, I was too anxious to order from the official website at the time of these coming out, otherwise I would have ordered the three part bundle with Redrum, Prom Night, and I’m Royalty. Alas, no time like the present as I finally own Redrum, and boy was I excited to write this review for you all today!

These are fast becoming my favourite beauty brand at the moment, yes they’re even shoving MAC Cosmetics away. They’re just the best liquid lipsticks I have tried, and I want to own them all.

Instead of ordering from Cocktail Cosmetics like I usually do, I bought these from the official Jeffree Star Cosmetics website. My reasons being that I didn’t want to worry I would miss out on Scorpio and Redrum is I waited and went through Cocktail Cosmetics. I’ve already reviewed Scorpio which you can read here.

Redrum is a gorgeous glam red colour, and very vintage looking. It’s described as, “The perfect red: this matte cool toned red looks amazing on any skin tone.” I love wearing the colour red, it’s just a perfect colour that suits anyone!

First thing I want to talk about is how long delivery took from America, and oh boy did it take a while! I ordered the two shades the day that Scorpio came out, and it took three weeks for them to arrive to me! What was more annoying was I had to pay £13.00 import fees as well. That’s the price of one from Cocktail Cosmetics! Which was really annoying… I understand that I think a week was held up due to the Jeffree Star Cosmetics factory getting broken into. My friend Claire and a few other UK bloggers received their purchases nearly a week before I got mine, which really sucked! Me and Claire ordered minutes apart from one another, which is what was the most annoying part. I was devastated as I wanted to try my products on my day off work. So you can only imagine how on the edge of my seat I was to try these bad boys out?! I got them on my weekend off mind, which wasn’t so bad. It just made me incredibly anxious that my items were lost.

Finally they arrived, and were totally worth the wait! The first one I had a play with was Scorpio, chanting “be still my beating heart!” as I tried it on, which was slowly followed by Redrum. For nearly two years I have wanted this gorgeous red in my collection, and now I finally have it!

Like the majority of Jeffree Star Comestics, Redrum comes in the signature pink box and of course is in the same tube as all the liquid lipsticks come in. The applicator is a doe foot and is really fluffy, which means it picks up more product, and therefore leaves more product behind on the lips. I did find however that this doe foot was a bit different than usual and had a distinctive scoop type shape to it. I imagine this is for grabbing more product, and also because the shape of the applicator fits snug onto the lips when applying the product. The product itself doesn’t have a scent to it, which is still a shame. Even though Jeffree Star is bringing some of his newer shades out with scents! WOOP! I like having a light scent to my lip products, but at the same time due to what kind of lip product this is, I’m still pretty pleased this is scentless.

Like the other velour liquid lipsticks I own, Redrum is beautifully pigmented, which by now is no surprise to me, due to the high quality of these liquid lipsticks. This was one of the first shades that Jeffree Star came out with, and I’ve seen it all over Instagram, and on beauty bloggers websites and YouTube channel for ages, so I KNEW I wanted it. I know what I was in store for when I swatched this, a red lipstick, so perfect that Marilyn Monroe herself would have worn this. Like all the liquid lipsticks this is really pigmented and therefore a little bit goes a long way. This isn’t do bad to apply without a lip liner, but I definitely prefer to use one to make sure I get a perfect cupid’s bow!

From L-R: Masochist, Hoe Hoe Hoe, Unicorn Blood, Scorpio, and Redrum.

From Top to bottom: Masochist, Hoe Hoe Hoe, Unicorn Blood, Scorpio, and Redrum.

I did wonder if the formula of this one would be different from Masochist (you can read my review of that here), and Hoe Hoe Hoe (you can read my review of that here) and to be honest it is extremely different! I found the formula was more watery/liquidy than the ones mentioned, but I actually liked this as it meant I didn’t need to use as much as I find I sometimes have to with Masochist due to it being a little thicker. I recently found out that Hoe Hoe Hoe has a thick formula due to the ingredients used to give it that shimmer/glitter affect inside. I also discovered that pretty much all the liquid lipstick shades are like this, so I’m no longer going to be surprised by the consistency of the formula.

Since Masochist was my first Jeffree Star shade and it stains your lips, I also worry that any shade I buy now will do the same thing. Alas though Redrum doesn’t stain, which I was really happy about. I don’t think I’ll be worrying about staining occurring anymore in the future… Yay!

As I mentioned before the first time I wore this was the day after I got it when I had to pop to the shops for a few things. I have since then worn it for work and everyone has complimented it, and said how pretty it looked. I know a couple of the girls I work with love and want Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, so I’m forever talking to them about the shades. You can’t go wrong with a red shade, especially for work.

Like all liquid lipsticks this will get worn away if you are in contact with any food (or possibly drinks) that contain oil. This lasts throughout my shift at work too, only budging on my lunch break when I grab something to eat, which of course is perfect! Re-applying this is really easy as well. You can just apply it to the parts of your  lips where needed, or even all over.

I of course used the “kiss” and “finger” test to show off that this product doesn’t come off when in contact with anything, and everyone I have shown it to has been impressed, especially my boyfriend who hates being covered in lip shapes kisses.

I have in the past found these hard to remove and have had to scrub away at my lips to remove the shade, only Masochist to be honest. I apply an oil based remover to a cotton pad and then apply it to the lips and wipe away when I feel the oil has soaked up the lipstick. Even for such a dark shade it comes off really easily, which I really do love.

As I always do, I show off my mug wearing said lip colour… By the way I attempted a jokey Marilyn Monroe look. 😛

Overall what do I think about Redrum? It was so worth the wait! I couldn’t wait to get this after wanting it for so long, but I did worry it would look different on me than it does online in pictures, and on other people. There’s not really anything unique about this shade as it is your classic red shade, which you can never go wrong with! I love wearing a red lip, and whilst I do have some staples and favourites in my make up collection, I can see this one becoming a fast favourite to reach for. I’ll wear this all year around, especially over the summer in the evenings for nights out.

This shade sold out surprisingly quickly considering it’s one of the first shades that Jeffree Star brought out. At the time of writing this post (12th May) it is currently sold out, both from the Jeffree Star website, however it is still available on Cocktail Cosmetics website.

When in stock you can buy this from Jeffree Star Cosmetics for $18.00, or Cocktail Cosmetics for £14.00.

I usually write on every Jeffree Star review I write three shades that I am lusting after, however this time I’m going to mention something else I’m after. A Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub in Strawberry Gum. “Use our delicious sugar based lip scrub to prep your lips before applying any liquid lipstick. Take a scoop out and rub your mouth in circular motions. Lick away excess (yes, it’s edible!) or wipe off with a tissue.” I got to give this a sniff when I recently visited the Cocktail Cosmetics store and I fell in love. I would have bought one there and then, but I’ll save it for next time. 😛

What shades are you after, or what shades do you own? Any you recommend? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and have a great week!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Scorpio – Review

Yes I am naughty! I’m meant to be saving money, but alas I recently bought myself not one, but two new Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks.

I’ll be reviewing Redrum next week by the way!

I haven’t been so excited for one of Jeffree Stars launches since Hoe Hoe Hoe before Christmas (you can read my review on that shade here), so when he started to talk about Scorpio on Instragram, and giving us sneak peaks, I knew I had to have it.

Scorpio is a grey purple shade, and very unique in my opinion! It’s described as, “This is what happens when grey and purple make love. Jeffree is a Scorpio so it’s only fitting he made a color in it’s honor!” I honestly couldn’t have explained it any differently myself! I love my purple shades and this is one I knew I had to add to my ever growing collection when I first saw it on Instagram.

First thing I want to talk about is how long delivery took from America, and oh boy did it take a while! I ordered the two shades the day that Scorpio came out, and it took three weeks for them to arrive to me! What was more annoying was I had to pay £13.00 import fees as well. So you can only imagine how on the edge of my seat I was to try these bad boys out?! I got them on my weekend off mind, which wasn’t so bad. It just made me incredibly anxious that my items were lost.

Finally they arrived, and were totally worth the wait! The first one I had a play with was Scorpio, chanting “be still my beating heart!” as I tried it on. I wore Scorpio the day after it arrived to go to Dane’s parents house for Sunday lunch. Dane’s gran complimented the colour I had on, which surprised me! I thought she would have said it was too dark, or too grey looking, so I was pleased that she liked it. After we had to pop to CEX to return a damaged item we bought but I put Redrum on for this.

Like the majority of Jeffree Star Comestics, Scorpio comes in the signature pink box and of course is in the same tube as all the liquid lipsticks come in. The applicator is a doe foot and is really fluffy, which means it picks up more product, and therefore leaves more product behind on the lips. Like the other velour liquid lipsticks I own, Scorpio is super duper pigmented, which by now is no surprise to me, due to the high quality of these liquid lipsticks. In the three weeks this took to arrive I did a lot of research on Instagram to see how this could possibly look on my skin tone. When I swatched it I was pleasantly surprised, although at first I found it looked more grey than purple, but this changed when I applied it to my lips, when it went to look more like a purple with grey undertones. Like all the liquid lipsticks this is really pigmented and therefore a little bit goes a long way. I did apply this a couple of times without a lip liner, and due to how dark it is I found it didn’t look as good as it could. So from then on I have used a lip liner to get a nice defined line for my lips, especially my cupid’s bow.

Overall how do I feel about Scorpio? Well it was a shade I was extremely excited about and I worried that I was in fact TOO excited about it and when it would arrive I wouldn’t like it. However this isn’t the case at all, and I really love it. It is a very unique shade and one I have been after since I felt confident enough to wear purple shades. I was also concerned that the shade Miss Mauve by Aromi Beauty (link to review here) would be exactly the same, but they’re nothing alike! This is a shade that I’ll rock throughout the year, but I think during the winter months it’ll be amazing worn with winter shades like mustard, navy, and burgundy.

This shade sold out hella quick and at the time of writing this post (12th May) it is currently sold out, both from the Jeffree Star website, as well as Cocktail Cosmetics. However! If you are able to travel to the actual Cocktail Cosmetic store I know when I went there last weekend they had quite a few Scorpio’s left so maybe make the trip there if you really want to pick it up soon, as it’ll sell out fast. I would say drop Cocktail Cosmetics a tweet before making the journey mind, as if they have none left then it’ll be a journey for nothing.

When in stock you can buy this from Jeffree Star Cosmetics for $18.00, or Cocktail Cosmetics for £14.00.

I write on every Jeffree Star review I write three shades I am lusting after. So my current 3 shades I am now lusting after (STILL!!!!!) Abused (This purpled toned navy blue is one of a kind. Matte. Bold. Sultry. We ALL abuse something. Whether it’s power, love, money or beauty… Just don’t let it control you.), Doll Parts (This soft cool toned pink looks like Lindsay Lohan’s life in the movie Mean Girls.), and Gemini (Inspired by Jeffree’s best friend who is a Gemini, this terra-cotta warm-toned nude is the perfect finish to any makeup look!).

What shades are you after, or what shades do you own? Any you recommend? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and have a great weekend!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood – Review

This was one of the Jeffree Star shades that I was excited about getting when it was first announced, but I never bothered due to worry that it would be way too dark for my skin tone. I doubt I would have bought it to this day to be honest if it hadn’t been for my friend Claire over at All Mouth, No Spoons (link to her blog here) sold me this bad boy at a bargain price of £10. Yes, ten whole pounds! This shade recently came back into stock on the official Jeffree Star Cosmetics website and at the time of writing this review it is still in stock! So I hope it stays that way as its been hard to pick up for quite a while now.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics has been around over a year now and in that time he has brought out an impressive line of liquid lipsticks, and lip scrubs, as well as adding new pieces to the collection such as lipsticks, highlighters, and an eyeshadow palette.

Unicorn Blood is a true red blood shade and is described as, “This dark rusty matte red is now a cult favorite amount the beauty world! Thank you for making this shade such a hit! This color looks perfect on ANY skin tone!” and it really does suit any skin tone! I think it’s more about if you don’t have the confidence to rock this sort of shade then it might not be for you, but more into that in a bit.

I adore dark shades and as I love my red, pink, and purple shades, this is right up my street for the red category! I’ve never owned a shade like this before so this is definitely different and something I was super excited about after I bought it from Claire.

This is definitely a shade for autumn and winter, but this being said I will definitely rock this in the evenings over the summer days for if me and friends go out for drinks, for a meal, etc.

Like Masochist Unicorn Blood also comes in the signature pink box but as I bought this second-hand, I didn’t get this which I didn’t really mind. It is also of course in the same beautiful hot pink and rose gold tube as all the liquid lipsticks come in. The applicator is a doe foot and when I first bought Masochist I expected it to be like the usual soft and bog standard ones you get in most lip glosses, however this doe foot is really fluffy! Which means it picks up more product, and therefore leaves more product behind on the lips. The product itself doesn’t have a scent to it, which at first I was pretty bummed about, but now I actually prefer it!

Like the other two velour liquid lipsticks I own, Unicorn Horn is super pigmented, which I knew it would be due to how amazing these liquid lipsticks are! I swatched this on the back of my hand and laughed awkwardly for a while due to how dark it is, and wondered to myself for a while how I’m going to rock it, and when! Again like all the liquid lipsticks this is really pigmented and therefore a little bit goes a long way. I couldn’t wait to try this on my lips so I ran to my bathroom mirror and applied. The doe foot applicator worked well to line my lips, but I find a lip liner is better (I’ll go into more detail about this in a moment) as it means you gain a more precise line and edge. You don’t need a lot of this to achieve a gorgeous finish.

From L-R: Masochist, Hoe Hoe Hoe, and Unicorn Blood.

I did wonder if the formula of this one would be different from Masochist (you can read my review of that here), and Hoe Hoe Hoe (you can read my review of that here) and to be honest it is a little, but not in a bad way! I found the formula was more watery/liquidy than the other two liquid lipsticks I own, but I actually liked this as it meant I didn’t need to use as much as I find I sometimes have to with Masochist due to it being a little thicker.

Another thing I worried would happen was staining, as Masochist stains. I like that it stains as it means it lasts longer but if you want to remove it at the end of the day it can be a total bitch to remove! Unicorn Blood doesn’t so this AT ALL which I’m really pleased about.

The first time I wore this out was at the Organique event I attended back in February (you can read about that here) and some of the lovely ladies at the event commented on how great it looked, which I was happy about!

Like all liquid lipsticks this will get worn away if you are in contact with any food (or possibly drinks) that contain oil. Even for such a dark shade it comes off really easily, which I really do love.

As I always do, I show off my mug wearing said lip colour… 😛 With a silly picture thrown in for shits and giggles. 😛

Got to add a silly “look at me trying to look all gothic

and grumpy and sterotypical” picture to this post. 😛

Overall how do I feel about Unicorn Blood? I LOVE it! It’s something different and really has encouraged me to wear darker shades and be more daring with my lip colours, which I’m really happy about to be honest. I don’t wear this shade as often as I do my others, but I have worn it for work a few times and had nothing but good comments about it, which in turn makes me happy.

As I mentioned at the start of this post I paid £10.00 for Unicorn Blood second-hand from my friend Claire, and of course postage was free as I popped over to her house to get it. 😛

You can buy this from Jeffree Star Cosmetics for $18.00, or Cocktail Cosmetics for £14.00.

I write on every Jeffree Star review I write three shades I am lusting after. So my current 3 shades I am now lusting after (STILL!!!!!) Abused (This purpled toned navy blue is one of a kind. Matte. Bold. Sultry. We ALL abuse something. Whether it’s power, love, money or beauty… Just don’t let it control you.), Drug Lord (This matte white liquid lipstick is the first of its kind! She’s very versatile. This product can be used as a mixing medium to lighten other liquid lip shades, can be used as liquid eyeliner (YES, it’s eye safe!), lip art, ombré’s or can be worn by itself.), and Androgyny (Be warned: this shade might be your new obsession 😉 Sultry, plum mauve, matte and extremely addicting.)

What shades are you after, or what shades do you own? Any you recommend? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and I hope everyone is having a great week.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Hoe Hoe Hoe – Review

I’ve owned this shade for quite a while now, and I’m surprised that I haven’t reviewed it sooner! I knew from Jeffree Star’s first announcement on Instagram that I would need this gorgeous shade in my life, especially considering it was limited edition too. I am of course talking about one of his limited edition Christmas shades, Hoe Hoe Hoe.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics has been around over a year now and in that time he has brought out an impressive line of liquid lipsticks, and lip scrubs, as well as adding new pieces to the collection such as lipsticks, highlighters, and an eyeshadow palette.

Hoe Hoe Hoe is a dark pinky red shade with pink and purple shimmer running throughout. It’s described as, “This fierce red is gorgeous. Hoe Hoe Hoe, part of Jeffree Star’s Limited Edition Holiday Collection, is deep toned with hints of metallic red and purple throughout.” I love red shades and the fact this was the first (of I’m sure many!) of his liquid lipsticks to feature shimmer, I knew I had to have it!

This was definitely the perfect shade for Christmas, and I wore it loads just after I bought it when I went to Fuerteventura. I wore it in the evenings when going out for drinks, and I got so many compliments on it! It was just great for the time of year, with everyone wearing red and sparkles for Christmas.

I have of course worn it since Christmas, and like many dark shades like this one, it’s perfect for autumn and winter. I will of course rock this throughout the year, and I often wear it to work. I get really good comments on it, especially when the shimmer is showing. People are astonished by it sometimes.

Unlike Masochist Hoe Hoe Hoe doesn’t come in the signature pink box that the majority of the liquid lipsticks come in. It actually comes in the limited edition white box that was created for these limited edition Christmas shades. Again, the tube itself isn’t the usual hot pink and rose gold colours either, but instead of hot pink it’s white, to match the box it comes in. I love the white look myself, and it really helps show off that the product is different from the rest in my small collection.

Like Masochist, Hoe Hoe Hoe is super pigmented, which I knew it would be due to how amazing these liquid lipsticks are! I swatched this on the back of my hand and was actually a little surprised at how dark this shade was. I thought it was going to be a lighter red shade due to the Instagram pictures. I did worry for a while that I wouldn’t like it, but when I tried it on I fell in love. Again like all the liquid lipsticks this is really pigmented and therefore a little bit goes a long way. The doe foot applicator worked well to line my lips, but I find a lip liner is better as it means you gain a more precise line and edge. You don’t need a lot of this to achieve a gorgeous finish.

As Hoe Hoe Hoe has shimmer in it (which as you can see I attempted to get a picture of…), a lot of people spoke online of how they get the most from their tube. One technique that I heard the most about was after it has dried you rub your lips with your finger to sort of show off any shimmer, and basically rub away the colour a little. It works and I do this before I leave the house after applying.

Masochist on the left, and Hoe Hoe Hoe on the right.

Masochist on the top, and Hoe Hoe Hoe on the bottom.

I did wonder if the formula of this one would be different from Masochist (you can read my review of that here), and it is a little. I found the formula was a little more watery/liquidy than Masochist, but I actually liked this as it meant I didn’t need to use as much as I find I sometimes have to with Masochist due to it being a little thicker.

Another thing I worried would happen was staining, as Masochist stains. I like that it stains as it means it lasts longer but if you want to remove it at the end of the day it can be a total bitch to remove! Hoe Hoe Hoe doesn’t so this AT ALL which I’m really pleased about. Due to the stain that Masochist leaves behind I did worry that there was something wrong with my tube of Hoe Hoe Hoe, but I’ve heard from a lot of bloggers and people that Masochist stains. So it isn’t just me. 🙂

The first time I wore this out was to go do some Christmas shopping with Dane. I got a lot of compliments on it from people and it made me feel great. I also wore it in my old job at Costa, and all my regular customers complimented me on it, and said how I seemed in the Christmas spirit. Love it!

Now it’s time for some silly faces of my mug wearing Hoe Hoe Hoe! 😛

Overall how do I feel about Hoe Hoe Hoe? I LOVE it! It’s something really unique due to the shimmer alone, and I know if I fancy wearing something really special on a night out, or for a meal, I know to wear this shade hands down. I’ve started to become more comfortable wearing darker shades at work, so I try and pop this on once every couple of weeks to show that it still exists. 😛

Unlike Masochist I paid £14.00 for this baby after Cocktail Cosmetics had to raise their prices. I remember how annoyed people were about it, but come on people. Over a pound? REALLY?!

As this is limited edition you can sadly no longer buy it anymore unless you find someone selling it second hand online. Try places like eBay, blog sales, sales on Reddit, and especially Depop!

I have decided that on every Jeffree Star product I review I will write about three shades I am lusting after. So my current 3 shades I am now lusting after (STILL!!!!!) Abused (This purpled toned navy blue is one of a kind. Matte. Bold. Sultry. We ALL abuse something. Whether it’s power, love, money or beauty… Just don’t let it control you.), Scorpio (This is what happens when grey and purple make love. Jeffree is a Scorpio, so it’s only fitting he made a color in it’s honor!), and Weirdo (The blackest black matte lipstick on earth! This product can also be used as liquid eyeliner (yes, its eye safe!)).

What shades are you after, or what shades do you own? Any you recommend? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all having a lovely day.

Aromi Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick in Miss Mauve – Review

dsc_0005_zps60uu09jv

I don’t feel like I’ve written a lipstick review in FOREVER! That’s probably because it was! What with graduation, holiday, new job, Christmas, New Year, AND my birthday, I don’t feel like I’ve had much time to review anything.

I haven’t really owned this lipstick for long, but I already know how I feel about it, and just had to write a review up about about it today. I cannot wait to share this with you. EEK!

dsc_0014_zpsk75adlt6

Aromi Beauty is an American beauty brand, who are both cruelty free and vegan! I only heard of them through one of the many lipstick related Instagram pages I follow and decided to look further into them. I wandered over to Cocktail Cosmetics website to see if they stocked their liquid lipsticks, and low and behold they did! So I ended up ordering the shade Miss Mauve for myself.

The Aromi liquid lipsticks (like all of them do) go on like a lip gloss and dry to a matte finish.

When I applied this I was worried about it not living up to the same standards as the Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks, as they are pretty much the best ones on the market right now. However, whilst this isn’t exactly the same as the velour liquid lipsticks, I found they were better in some ways, which I shall explain.

As usual this arrived super quickly from Cocktail Cosmetics, and I couldn’t wait to wear it for work the next day. I applied this quickly in the morning before I left the house, and then headed over to work. I got nothing but compliments on this shade, both from colleagues at work, as well as customers. I also received compliments via my Instagram page, with people saying what a gorgeous shade this is. I have to agree on that! 😛

I’ll start with the look of the lipstick first, and then talk about the product itself. I have a lot to talk about with this one. I’m going to compare Miss Mauve to my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, just so if people own those and want something to compare to, you can!

The first thing I noticed about the tube is how it’s a lot longer than the Jeffree Star ones, and contains a gram less of product. The Aromi contains 4g, whilst the Jeffree Star contain 5.6g. The prices are also a pound different on the Cocktail Cosmetics website with the Aromi being £13.00, and Jeffree Star being £14.00. As you can see I have taken a picture to show the sizes of the tubes alongside each other.

The Aromi Beauty liquid lipsticks have a sweet vanilla scent to them, which isn’t overpowering, but just the right amount of scent for it to smell delicious. I hate when lip products smell and taste super artificial. It just puts me off using the product. When applied to the lips however, the scent isn’t noticeable to me, and I can’t taste anything either.

There is one thing I’m unsure of though when it come to the size of the tube, obviously the wand is also long. I’m used to one half the size, but this being said I didn’t have an issue, as it just reminded me of a lip gloss I would have used years before as a teenager. The doe foot applicator is a standard one you find on most products, which I really liked. I felt it made it easier to line my lips and cupids bow before applying the product all over the lips. I usually need to use a lip liner with my liquid lipsticks, but this one I didn’t need that at all.

That leads me to talk about applying the product. I actually found it a little easier than with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, which saved me a bit of time when in a rush in the morning for work. It’s a more watery consistency which I found glided a little better when applying to the lips, and after it had dried it felt a lot more natural on the lips and comfortable, as if it isn’t even on my lips in the first place. Drying time is quoted as one minute, which is accurate.

L-R: Jeffree Star – Masochist, Aromi Beauty – Miss Mauve, Jeffree Star – Hoe Hoe Hoe

As I stated at the start of this post, I picked up Miss Mauve, as the name states, a mauve shade. It’s a gorgeous browny purple shade, which can be worn from day to night. I’ve been wearing this for work and it just looks gorgeous, and stands out against the normal nude, pink, and red shades that most people wear. I’ve swatched it alongside Masochist (review here) (on the left) and Hoe Hoe Hoe (on the right), both shades are by Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

For the five hours I wore this, and drank water I never had any issues with it fading from the middle, or outside area of my lips. An issue I have recently discovered with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. It states on the packaging to steer clear from oily foods, so after I ate my lunch at work (chips and a chicken burger, go me and eating well eh?!) I thought I would end up looking like a clown… Alas I was wrong and the lipstick had hardly budged! Again, this is an issue I have had with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. When I wore Masochist the day before I wore this, I looked like I had been eating raspberry jam, and it resulted in a trip to the bathroom to remove it all. What a shame. 😦

I applied a little more of Miss Mauve where needed and headed back down to finish my shift. Four hours later I got home to discover it hadn’t budged still and looked as good as it did when I left the hours nearly nine hours prior to starting my shift.

Like all liquid lipsticks, they can be a pain in the arse to remove. There are meant to stay on all day don’t forget! I use an oil based make up remover to remove my liquid lipsticks, and I found I didn’t need to use much effort to remove these. I do find I have to do that with the Jeffree Star ones. Which isn’t a bad thing! It means they’ll last a long time, but when you want to get them off after a long day, you don’t want to have to scrub so hard on your lips you irritate them, do you?

Time for a couple of snaps of myself now, one of me being silly. 😛

As you can probably gather, I love Miss Mauve! I might buy more from Aromi Beauty in the future, just because of this liquid lipstick alone. I didn’t find any cons with it at all, they’re all pretty much pros. The price is great, wear time is perfect, has a nice scent which I like, the formula and the way it works for me are bang on, and the shade is just what I was after.

I’m trying to move towards something different from reds, and pinks at the moment this mauve shade is just perfect for me. I can see this being my go to lipstick for work.

What do you think of Aromi Beauty, and Miss Mauve? Will you be giving the brand a go? Let me know the comments!

Until next time, take care all.

November Wish List

It’s now November, and less than a month until my holiday. Woohoo to that! It’s also coming closer to Christmas, which I am once again extremely excited for this year! I’ve already started my Christmas shopping for before I go away on holiday.

I don’t really want much this month, due to Christmas coming up, plus it’s official that November is the month to not buy anything so that you don’t buy something someone has already bought you for Christmas. But writing a wish list doesn’t hurt… Does it? To be honest I’m already on planning on a few of these items with my holiday coming up, as well as just wanting to get my hands on them!

  • Black Milk Clothing Fox Leggings.

I love Black Milk leggings and I own a pair of their mermaid leggings, which I adore! I also own a dress, which I’ll be wearing for my graduation at the end of the month. Whilst I love Black Milk though, I also love foxes, a hell of a lot more to be honest. I remember seeing Black Milk post a picture on their Instagram of someone wearing these leggings and I got super excited about them, only to discover they were a museum piece, and hadn’t been around for years. You can only imagine how disappointed I was. Then only a month or two later they re-released the fox leggings and I was super excited about it! These are actually on my Christmas list, but I don’t know if anyone will actually buy them for me… It’s not cheap importing from Australia to be honest, so I usually pick up my Black Milk pieces from eBay. These are just gorgeous though, and I’d wear them to death with baggy jumpers, sweatshirts, and anything else really. I’m keeping everything crossed that I can get them before they sell out and become a museum item once again…

  • Jackass T-Shirt.

I am a huge Jackass fan and have been since it came out, which is a really long time! However, throughout all those years I haven’t as of yet owned a t-shirt with the classic skull and crutches logo that everyone knows Jackass for. Why? I don’t even know! Primark recently brought out this t-shirt, and when I went into the Coventry store to look for it, I had zero luck. Someone has bought a bunch though and put them for sale over on eBay for a pretty decent price. So I am contemplating picking one up that I can wear on my holiday. I’m not one for wearing all summery style pieces on holidays, I love wearing quirky things that show off who I am, and what I love. So this will be ideal dressed up with some shorts for daytime, or jeans for a relaxed evening look.

  • Vans Disney 101 Dalmatians T-Shirt.

I’m in LOVE with the Disney 101 Dalmatians collection that has recently come out with Vans, so much so I already have a pair of the shoes from the collection. Go me, huh? I plan on owning most of the collection before it eventually leaves us, and as you can see on this list I have two items, this and a backpack. I am hoping I can pick up this t-shirt before I go on holiday so I can wear it in the daytime when it’s a little chilly or I pop out shopping with my dad for the day. Hell, even for drinks! Like the Jackass t-shirt I would team this with shorts or jeans. As I plan to wear the Vans shoes that I bought too, I would of course worry it might look a little too over the top… So I may have to switch to flip-flops that day! It’s not cheap though at £40.00… But student discount will help my wallet a little…

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Hoe Hoe Hoe.

After buying Masochist about a month ago, I am officially in love with Jeffree’s liquid lipsticks! So when I saw that he was releasing some new shades for Christmas, I began to get excited. He’s bringing out five in total and out of them all Hoe Hoe Hoe is the most beautiful… In my eyes anyway. It’s a gorgeous red shade that packs a punch, especially as it’s full of pink shimmer. Something that hasn’t yet been done in the liquid lipstick world! I cannot wait to pick one up, and I will do as soon as Cocktail Cosmetics put them up on their website. I might take this on holiday to rock on nights out, but otherwise it will be a definite must for December, Christmas, and New Year.

  • Nintendo 3DS New Style Boutique 2 – Fashion Forward.

This game was only announced recently and already it’s due out towards the end of the month. I’ve owned the Style Boutique games on both the old Nintendo DS, as well as the first game in the new 3DS series, so I kind of need the second one as well. This comes out just before my holiday so I intend to pick this up for my holiday so I have plenty to do whilst I’m sunbathing, and chilling out in the mornings and evenings. It has a different style of gameplay from the original ones, which I really like the sound of! I think I may have to pre-order this very soon.

  • Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne.

I recently read a review of this by a blogger, and it’s safe to say that after said review, I now need to read this book. It’s about a girl who is dealing with OCD, and how she deals with it when she starts at a new college. Of course it is a young adult novel, which is always the genre I sway towards and pick up. I write this style of work myself, so I love to read it too. I think I’ll be picking this up for my holiday, as I already have one book to take with me to read, so I want to make sure I have another to read. If not, I’ll at least be picking it up in the future, as it sounds like an amazing book!

  • Vans Disney 101 Dalmatians Backpack.

There were originally two backpacks announced in the collection, this one and a red one with little pictures of dalmatian puppies all over it. I wanted the latter, but it hasn’t yet been released on the Vans website, or anywhere else for that matter… Which I am pretty gutted about! However, they have released the other backpack, which is pretty cool! I could do with a new one in the New Year, as my current one is looking like it has seen better days. This isn’t exactly cheap though, which is a shame as it is just a bag… Plus whilst I do somewhat like it, I also still prefer the other one and knowing my luck, I will buy this one and then the red one will come out shortly after… So we shall see!

So that is my second to last wish list of the year! It’s crazy to think there is only one more and then it’ll be 2016! This year has gone by so damn quickly. Phew!

What items are on your wish lists? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a great weekend.
