Spring Tag!

Image taken from weheartit.com

I love spring, it means the weather is beginning to get warmer and lighter nights are just around the corner. Since getting back from my holiday I’ve been lusting after warmer weather and not needing to layer up and wear my parka. I just want to wear my pleather jacket again, as well as my dresses and playsuits.

It’s officially spring today! So what better way to start off spring 2015 on my blog, than a spring tag!

1. Favorite spring nail polish?
I like my cream and pastel shades for spring, and I’ll definitely be wearing my Models Own Speckled polishes (post about them here). They remind me of Mini Eggs, which I love. As well as that I’ll probably be wearing my Illamasqua Raindrops (review here) polish as I love that shade for spring too.

2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?
I’m swaying towards pinks this spring, mostly nude pinks as I’ve recently got into wearing this shade and I really like it. As well as that I always like to rock a hot pink shade too. You can’t go wrong with pink! One I’ll probably wear a lot is Miley Cyrus’ Viva Glam lipstick (review here).

3. Show us your favorite spring dress!
I have so many favourites! I love my Dr. Martens dress (lookbook here), as well as my Miss Selfridge playsuit which I wore on holiday and will continue to wear in the spring and summer in the UK. Here are some pictures of both dresses…

4. What’s your favorite flower?
I don’t reallllly like flowers to be honest and I put this down to having hayfever… But if I had to choose one it would probably be sunflowers and lilies.

5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?
Favourite spring scarf is definitely my white skull one that I bought three years ago (wow time flies!). It’s light and perfect to wear with dresses in the spring and summer.

6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)
I am really liking the look of the 70’s trend, as I find the style that was out then was pretty nice and looked lovely. When it comes to make up and hair, I don’t really bother with those trends as I just wear my hair how I want to, and same with my lipstick too. Clothes wise, I am in desperate need of a make over! So I may go down the 70’s route!

7. Favorite spring candle?
I’ll burn anything throughout the year, but I think out of all my Yankee Candles the candles I’ll be burning most throughout spring will be Sweet Strawberry and Sweet Apple (post about them both here). They’re perfect for spring and smell delicious too. They’re simple too which is great for spring.

8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?
Ooo this is a tough one as I have so many I like to wear throughout the year. I think a few that I really like are Paul Smith Rose, DKNY MYNY, Marc Jacobs Oh Lola, Gucci Envy Me, and Lancome Miracle. They’re all light and floral and citrus scents which work lovely for spring.

9. What is spring like where you live?
Erm… It depends I suppose but usually wet! It rains a lot in the UK as it is, but it seems to rain more during spring than any other month. The thing I like about spring in the UK is how great it is to go into the countryside and awe over all the baby animals, as well as take in the sights. I especially love seeing cherry blossom trees.

Image taken from weheartit.com

10. What’s your favorite thing about spring?
Baby animals and cherry blossom trees for sure! They just both make me happy, especially when it comes to photography too. I also like how lighter nights come around and you can go out in the evenings with friends, family, partner, etc and just enjoy yourselves for longer. It’s also nice how it gets a little warmer out too.

11. Are you a spring cleaner?
Sometimes, not like hardcore but I would like to do a lot of spring cleaning this year. I’ve done a little already with my clothes, but I need to do some more. There’s probably loads of junk I could chuck away out of my room!

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
We don’t have spring break in the UK, but we do get Easter break. I’m not at uni during this time for two weeks and throughout that time I’ll be working, as well as doing my uni work. I may also use it to do my spring cleaning and have a bit of me and blog time. I won’t have any holiday’s coming up, but I would love to go out for a day somewhere nice for my boyfriends birthday, which is just after the Easter holiday’s.

So that was the Spring Tag! I really enjoyed doing it, and I hope my readers have enjoyed reading it.

Who do I tag? EVERYONE! If you take part in this tag, please link me back to said post via a comment so I can come and read it.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all have a good weekend.

September Wish List

Boy time is flying for 2014! Soon enough it’ll be 2015, woohoo! So with another month, I bring to you another wish list. This one has certain themes to it, some holiday themed, some just nail themed. Either way I need to save money, only a few little treats now! There are some other bits and pieces I want to get my hands on but when I will is another story.

September Wish List

  •  Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Melange (from the Once collection).

This nail polish is stunning and one that I know already that I need in my collection! It’s described as a “golden teal, matte finish” and something beautiful that I don’t have in mu collection. It’ll be gorgeous to wear for autumn and winter and with the matte finish it’ll look even better in my opinion! I’ve only owned one Illamasqua nail polish, Raindrops (review here) which is a gorgeous shade. Illamasqua’s formula for their polishes are great and I’m really surprised I don’t have more of their polishes. This isn’t cheap at £14.50 but I’m sure it would be worth every penny and I really can see this becoming a permanent shade to their collection.

  • Superdrug Croyde Cable Cardigan.

I spotted this cardigan a couple of weekends ago when I went to visit my friend Gabriella and we both awed at how beautiful it was. Soft, warm and a gorgeous burgundy colour we both fell in love… Luckily I restrained myself from buying it, or asking my boyfriend to lend me the money for it! I know I will buy this eventually as I just can’t help but need it, my friend Poppy even wants it now after I shared it on Instagram! This isn’t cheap and I’ve found it on websites for well over £50! I’m sure it wasn’t this much in the shop that my friend and I found it in. Either way, I’m going to be good and save my money up for a while… To buy this of course! No I joke! But with autumn upon us in less than 20 days, I’ll probably need this for those chilly evenings that will soon be upon us.

  • Matalan Spot Print Tankini Style Swimsuit.

As I’m due to go on holiday at the start of January I’m after some new swimwear, especially a costume as whilst I may look okay with clothes on, I don’t look so pretty without them and quite frankly I hate my stomach! For swimming and such I want to invest in a nice swimsuit to paddle around the pool in, and what better way to go than with a swimsuit that has tummy control! Melon Lady recently shared this in a haul on her YouTube channel and I fell in love with it, it looks vintage and gorgeous and I can rock this with a pair of shorts whilst walking around the shops too if I really want to. At £15 this is a bargain and I need to get my arse to a Matalan soooon if I’m in any hope of picking this up.

  • Loungefly Disney Ariel Turquoise Glitter Embossed Bag.

This bag is beautiful and since I set my eyes on it, I want it. However this isn’t available in the UK… Yet! I have wanted one of these bags for a while, but with the Hello Kitty print on it, however I never found one I actually really wanted so I left it. However this bag is beautiful in many ways. Ariel is a mermaid and thus already amazing and the fact this is glitter AND turquoise makes it double amazing! I would love this bag in time for my holiday, as from seeing them in the flesh, these bags are HUGE and you could probably fit everything in there. I really do hope this comes over to our English soil, as soon as it does I’ll be buying it!

  • OPI How Is Your Dane? Nail Lacquer (from Nordic collection).

I won’t lie, I only really want this nail polish because of the name… Well that’s the main reason anyway! Otherwise the shade of this nail polish is beautiful and one I’ve been after since the summer, ready for autumn and winter. My boyfriends name is Dane (as regular readers and people who know me will know) so when I saw the name of this it made me giggle like a little kid but when I saw the shade, it’s like OPI knew I was after a chocolate-brown. OPI’s description for this shade is “Pass up this cinnamon coffee? You’re barking up the wrong tree!” which is really nice in a weird way. This isn’t cheap, like most OPI polishes but I want some staple shades for autumn and winter this year and I think this could be one of them, it’d look gorgeous with some glitter over the top!

  • Loungefly Hello Kitty Mustache Coin Purse.

I have wanted a coin purse for a while, but one that matched my wallet… My old wallet that is. However now I have my new one, there is a chance for me to get the coin purse to match my current wallet. However I fancy a change and when I saw this coin purse online in Beadesaurus’s sale I thought it looked gorgeous and reminded me of a Hello Kitty wallet I wanted ages ago! As I’ve already mentioned my holiday is coming up in the New Year and I don’t really want to take my huge wallet with  me abroad, so I’m thinking of picking up something like this instead. Something I can just keep my money, cards, receipts, etc inside with no worries.

  • LiP SMACKER Red Velvet Lip Balm.

I recently found out that Lip Smackers cake flavoured lip balms will finally be coming out in the UK and I’m quite excited. You can’t go wrong with a flavoured lip balm and for anyone who doesn’t know me, I LOVE red velvet and quite frankly anything and everything that tastes and smells just like it. I don’t really need another lip balm, but what would another one hurt to keep in my hand bag or on the side of my bed, huh? There are loads of flavours from this Cupcakery collection coming out, such as Strawberry Sprinkle, Birthday Cake, Berry Buttercream, Vanilla Coconut, Salted Caramel, as well as Red Velvet. I’m excited for this collection and I’m sure I will mention more about it in the future.

  • OPI Peanuts Collection Mini Pack.

I’ve made a post about the Peanuts collection that OPI will be bringing out for Halloween, you can read that post here. I am SO excited for this collection to come out! As soon as it becomes available to buy, I’ll for sure be picking it up.

  • Adventure Time Jake Phone Case.

I spotted this on eBay when I was having a look through all the Adventure Time bits and pieces listed on there. I love this phone case, it has a quote from Jake on it which says, “Dude, suckin’ at something is the first step to being sorta good at something” and I LOVE it! I’ve been feeling pretty down the past year and it hasn’t really gotten any better, but this quote does make me feel like it’s not just me who is out there struggling to get things right first time around. I’d love to have this case to look at everyday, every time I feel crappy and hopeless. It’s less than £8.00, which isn’t bad really when you think about it. My boyfriend wants the same case too, so if we were both to pick them up we would match, which is always nice.

So that is my wish list for September! I really wish I could buy everything off of the list right now, but money. xD

What’s on your wish list this month? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and have a great weekend.

August Wish List

My wish list for August was without a doubt a really hard one to put together. Some months I’ll want everything I can get my hands on, and others I won’t want hardly anything. There are quite a few items at the moment that I really want and some I’m not so fussed about. I am trying my best to save money at the moment, but the past month has been tough, with needing to buy my new glasses, as well as other mishaps along the way. However at this moment in time I’m able to start saving again and trying my best to be good (which I’m sure won’t last that long!) so as usual, spending ban or not I am going to keep on wishing for things that I probably won’t buy… Yet anyway. 😛

August Wish List

  • Etude House Peel Off Base Coat.

I discovered this nail polish base coat on eBay recently, whilst trying to find another peel off base coat. I’ve heard quite a few reasonable things about Etude House and whilst I have never tried their products myself, I could see me picking this base coat up. Basically you apply this to the nail like a normal base coat, apply your nail polish on top (this is designed to remove glitter polish easily so…) and then a top coat. When you’ve had enough of your polish you just peel it off of the nail, simple as that! I could do with this for my glitter polish, as well as my average nail polishes as I would love to be able to wear polish days after work, but it can be so awkward with the faff of removing it before work or after an evening out. This wouldn’t break my bank at £3.50 either (P&P included!) so I think I shall be ordering this pretty soon.

  • New Look Blue Paisley Print Crochet Hem High Waisted Shorts.

I spotted these shorts on a blog post by ellistuesday and fell in love with them straight away! I popped into New Look in Milton Keynes to try them on and possibly buy them, but I discovered they had none left in that store, nor any of the other New Look stores I could go and continue my search at. So I haven’t bought these… Yet! I have seen them though and they are gorgeous and I really do want them. I’d wear them both in the warm and cold months. In the warmer months I would pair these with a white vest or t-shirt and in the jumper with a cream jumper, or a burgundy jumper. I’d order these online, as that’s the only place that stocks my size at the moment… Although in truth I am in two minds about whether to order these or not. We shall see!

  • Born Pretty Holographic Nail Polish in shade #10.

Another nail polish found on eBay, oh how I love eBay, you can find some complete bargains on there (jots down in notebook “Must make a blog post about eBay!”). I stumbled across quite a few of Born Pretty’s holographic nail polishes that I liked the look of, but out of the small few I fell in love with, this is by far the shade I want the most. A gorgeous ocean blue shade, this blue holographic nail polish would look gorgeous for a summer holiday, as well as some scale patterns painted on to make them look very mermaid. I only have one holographic nail polish and I really do crave  more! This costs less than £4.00 including postage from eBay which I think is a complete bargain!

  • While (1<2) by Deadmau5.

I am a MASSIVE fan of Deadmau5 and he’s an artist I listen to quite a bit so when he announced a new album earlier this year, I got super excited! Now it’s out and I’ve only heard a couple of tracks from it, crazy huh? I basically just want to wait until I own the album to listen to all of the songs from it. I do really need to pick up more of his albums, as whilst I own them I don’t physically own them… If that makes sense. xD But either way I really can’t wait to pick this up soon.

  • Britney Spears Fantasy Twist.

As Midnight Fantasy is one of my favourite perfumes and over the years Fantasy has grown on me, it sort of makes sense for me to pick up this twist set, doesn’t it really? Both of them together are 50ml, but of course are 25ml each. I really would like a perfume that I can throw into my hand bag before I head out of the house in a rush, as well as before work and these just seem perfect! These won’t break the bank for me to buy either at just over £20 too, especially with the discount that you can get from Voucher Codes. I could really do with some new perfume, I’m slowly running out and it’s making me sad!

  • The Body Shop Banana Shampoo.

This was something I’ve just recently spoken about on my July favourites and I have to say how much I do really love this shampoo! I do not as of yet own it, but I can see me buying it this weekend. I bought it for my boyfriend as part of a huge anniversary present and he loved it, and so did I when I tried it out. It leaves your hair feeling soft, smooth and shiny as well as smelling amazing! For £4.50 this shampoo wouldn’t exactly break the bank and it really is worth the  money. I recommend giving it a sniff when you’re next in The Body Shop, especially if you love the smell of banana as much as I do.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm in Berry Bomb.

When the Baby Lips first came out, I KNEW I needed to try at least one of them, after them being ranted and raved about for years. Finally when I gave these a go I did enjoy and love using them, but this love soon faded. I’ve only recently come to fall in love with them all over again and I already know that I want to try Berry Bomb, for a few reasons. I wear a lot of dark pink lip colours, which border on purple sometimes and whilst I’m working or out and about I do like to top these up with lip balm and this dark pink/purple lip balm would work perfectly with those! Plus I assume it smells and taste of blue berries… Or at least I would hope so!

  • Illamasqua Matte Lip Liquid in Forbidden.

I recently read a review for this liquid lipstick and I fell in love with the colour, so one afternoon in July whilst I was shopping in town I went and swatched Forbidden for myself and I just fell in love even more. It’s a gorgeous baby pink shade, that surprisingly suited my yellow skin tone. I nearly bought it there and then but I knew I needed to save money, so I left  it. Sadly it’s now rumoured to be discontinued, but once again eBay has come to my rescue! God bless eBay, I swear. I have heard bad things about Illamasqua’s liquid lipsticks but quite honestly I don’t care if this doesn’t last that long, as the shade Forbidden is divine and one I need in my collection for sure.

  • MAC Lipglass in Sweet Strawberry.

Now this is from the old Hello Kitty collection, that came out in 2008/2009, I’m not 100% sure but I remember craving after that whole collection as a teenager, and sadly I never picked up a single thing from it. I remember wanting Big Bow lipstick and this lipglass. I found a seller online who has these for sale, brand new in the box, for less than £10. Legit and everything my MAC loving friends! I was close to buying this on Monday after hearing some rubbish news, but I didn’t and decided to be good. I have so many lip products at the moment that I never know which to use next! I can definitely see me buying this soon mind, as I would wear the hell out of it over the Christmas period.

So those are my wish list bits and pieces for August! What have you been lusting over at the moment? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.

The Winter Tag!

Image taken from weheartit.com

There’s nothing better than Winter and as today is the official start of winter I thought I would take part in The Winter Tag! I know it was only last week I was doing The Christmas Tag but who cares! Tags are fun and as it’s Christmas then I shall do as I want. 😛

I wasn’t tagged to do this but I thought I’d take part in it anyway as it looked like a nice one to do. I found this over on Charlotte’s blog – Makeup by Candlelight. Go check out her blog, she’s lovely! I’ll mention at the end of the tag who I’ll be tagging myself to go this too.

So, on with the questions!

What are your favourite things about winter?

Has to be wrapping up warm in your favourite coat and jumper, with some boots and a chunky scarf. As well as that I love going into the countryside during the winter to venture around the woods and take walks. I’m really excited about doing this with my boyfriend this year!

What is your favourite winter outfit?

I have so many to be honest but one that’s standing out right now are my wine skinny fit jeans, black slim fit t-shirt, my boyfriends grey jumper, my Dr Martens boots or my Chelsea boots and either my brown hounds tooth coat or my navy military coat.

What is your favourite winter food?

I’d like to say soup but I don’t really cook and eat soup all that much! Definitely something comforting like a jacket potato with cheese or garlic bread. Something stodgy but so amazingly good! I think I’ll say soup is fast becoming a favourite, it just warms you up after a really cold day and it’s healthy too.

Favourite winter drink?

Definitely mint hot chocolate! Red Bush tea has worked its way up there since NaNoWriMo too.

What is your dream way to spend a Winter’s day?

There’s a couple. Walking around a part of the countryside with someone and taking in the crisp winter scenery and air, another being to stay in bed all day whilst looking at the cold outside and just have a lazy day with vast amounts of tea and hot chocolate. Also The German Market has proven to be a really nice one too, just to walk around and look at the stalls.

How do you like to do your make-up in the Winter?

Well as I don’t wear a full face (just the lips) I LOVE wearing red and dark vampy shades for winter. I think it just looks gorgeous and somewhat warming. I’m wearing Illamasqua’s Magnetism loads at the moment (review here)!

What are you hoping Santa brings you?

What I REALLY want is a 2DS with Pokemon X but I know I won’t get that. I’m really wanting a Roxy hoodie I spotted with my boyfriend a couple of weeks back. I tried it on and fell in love but at £69.99 I really can’t afford to splurge right now. 😦 Other than that some Yankee Candles would be nice and maybe some new jeans as I think I could do with some! Anything with foxes on too, I’m obsessed!

What are the first three things that remind you of Winter?

Hot chocolate, the colour burgundy and pub food.

What is your favourite Winter song?

Favourite winter song? Mmm I dunno if I have one, well not one I can think of anyway! Possibly something by Evanescence to be honest with you but which song? I don’t know, most of Fallen and The Open Door seeing as I got then both during the winter season when they first came out.

What is your favourite Winter memory?

Walking around The German Market recently in both Birmingham and Coventry. It was lovely to just walk around with my boyfriend and our friends discussing all sorts and cupping our warm and cold drinks. When my boyfriend and I walked around Coventry late Sunday afternoon it was somewhat relaxing even though everyone was rushing around us getting their Christmas shopping done and all we were thinking about was how to kill three hours.I can’t wait for more winter memories with my boyfriend, I just love being in his company more than ever right now.

What is your favourite Winter scent?

I answered this on The Christmas Tag so I’ll just copy and paste my answer here:

Oh this is a tough one, I have so many to choose from! Literally have my perfume box next to me so I can sniff away at all my perfumes! I can’t pick one, but since purchasing them the ones I have found myself going towards during the winter have been Thierry Mugler’s Alien EDP and Chanel’s Chance EDP. I also love Diesel’s Loverdose EDP too but as I’m running out I haven’t been able to use it, which in turn makes me rather sad. Gucci by Gucci also reminds me of Christmas time as my Mom gave it to me the night of the only Christmas party I attended when I went to university. It’s a gorgeous smell and definitely one for winter time.

Finish this sentence… If I could have one wish this Christmas it would be…

To be honest I really don’t know. I just want to have a good Christmas this year with no stress, upset, falling out or arguing with people, which in all honesty happens every year! I really want to spend it with my boyfriend this year, as I want our first Christmas together to be a memorable one. As well as this I want the present I’m getting for him to be one of the best he’s ever had. :’) So I wish for a wonderful Christmas as in all honesty every year I have felt really quite low. I don’t want that anymore.

So that was The Winter Tag! Did you enjoy reading it?

I really did enjoy doing this tag and therefore I tag ALL OF YOU to take part in it!

If you do have a go at this tag please comment below linking me to your post or even drop me a tweet over at MayBeeCoffee! 😀

Anyhoo I’m shattered, so I’m off to bed. I’m writing this tag up at 1am, deary me.

Take care all and here’s too a wonderful and very cold winter!

November Wish List

I can’t believe that there are only two more months of 2013 before we enter a New Year… It’s gone by really quickly, hasn’t it? It’ll be Christmas soon, which I’m sort of excited for, but that’s a whole other post!

So, seeing as I did a wish list last month, I’ve decided to do one this month too! There’s loads of stuff I really want this month and I suppose whatever I don’t get my hands on, I’ll be asking for Christmas… Maybe, anyway.

As well as that I’m going to be a busy bee during November with the NaNoWriMo challenge, so my blog will still be running, as well as me writing updates for you all every Friday of how I’m doing with my novel, word count, etc!

Anyhoo, on with the wish list!

November Wish List

  • Black Fox Knee High Socks from Topshop – £6.00

Okay now these say on the website that they are out of stock, but this is the second time they’ve said this, so I am hoping that they’ll come back in stock asap! I love these socks and as regular readers will know, I love foxes so much and if I see anything with a fox on and it looks nice, I’ll usually buy it. Last month I spoke about a fox jumper from New Look, which I ended up buying in the sale, as well as it being featured on a what I wore post in October, which you can check out here. As these socks are knee-high, I’d be more inclined to wear them around the house with a pair of shorts and/or with a baggy t-shirt. If I wore them under my trousers it would be to keep my legs warm during the winter. I haven’t owned a pair of knee-high socks since I was 16 and those were typical black and red striped ones… How very punk of me! I do hope these come back in stock, as soon as they do, I’m ordering them.

  • Ciaté Red Velvet Manicure Set from John Lewis – £14.00

I saw The Sunday Girl reviewed this on her blog in October and I really do like the ideas Ciaté come up with for their manicure sets and I’ve wanted to own one myself for quite a while now. I love Red Velvet cake and pretty much anything that has its name. I love my Red Velvet Yankee Candle and I’ll be burning that over the rest of the year, hopefully buying myself a new jar in the New Year too. But the idea of this manicure set is to leave your nails looking velvety and pretty and red is a great colour for the winter season, as well as the Christmas period. Now this is just a personal thing but I HATE wearing red nail polish on my nails. Why? Because it actually makes me look like a transvestite, just like wearing make up does too. I know that sounds mean but I really do look like a man when I wear a full face of make up and red nails and I’d prefer to stay away from looking that way… Ha! That rhymed! However, I reckon due to this manicure’s unique velvet looking effect, I reckon I could get away with this red manicure and not look the way I feel I do when I wear red on my nails. This is an exclusive manicure set for John Lewis, so if you want to get your hands on this too, here’s the link for you. Again, I rhymed, double ha!

  • Illamasqua Freak Scarab 75ml EDP – £85.00

I wrote about Illamasqua’s new perfume release on this (post) in late October and I can’t express once again how excited I was about this when I heard about it on their YouTube channel. When the actual scent was unveiled with details about the notes for this scent, as well as what the bottle would look like I knew I needed to smell it as soon as possible! At £85 for a 75ml bottle, I’m not 100% sure if I’ll be purchasing this yet, as I would prefer a small 30ml bottle to go with my little Illamasqua Freak bottle that I already own (and need another bottle of stat!). I can’t wait to get my hands on this scent, it sounds so yummy and unique, like Freak.

  • MAC Lipstick in Speak Louder – £15.00

I’ve wanted to swatch this lipstick since the summer but every time I went to a MAC counter to do just that, I forgot the name of the lipstick and thus ended up leaving the counter disappointed and feeling rather silly. Eventually I remembered the name and swatched it in October. The colour of this lipstick is described as a clean poppy blue pink, which is pretty accurate. I don’t own a shade like this and as it’s a cremesheen finish too, it’ll look and feel lovely on my lips throughout the cold winter season, especially around Christmas time. I can see me buying myself this as a treat in one of Debenhams special deals online, which I have mentioned on my MAC lipstick reviews before. I know I would wear Speak Louder quite a lot, especially to work as it’s a wearable colour for any occasion.

  • MONTH Chelsea Boots from Topshop – £45.00

I saw these featured on quite a few beauty and fashion blogs during October and I can see why so many women are loving them. They’re gorgeous chelsea boots and yes they are expensive but upon looking at them myself, they’re worth every penny! I’ve never owned a pair of chelsea boots and at the start of the year I was after a pair, but nowhere and I mean NOWHERE was stocking them, so I gave up the thought of owning a pair and stuck with my Dr Martens boots and my Vans skater shoes instead to get me through the cold until spring. However they’re back again this autumn and winter and I’m rather glad. Everywhere is stocking these boots at the moment but none of them look as good as these ones from Topshop. I contemplated buying a cheap £10 pair from Primark to see me through until I could afford this pair, but I decided against it, I may as well save that £10 towards these boots instead. I know I’ll be buying these by December as I have so many looks I want to create with them. I worry though that these will replace my Dr Martens boots, but then I realise that they won’t and if anything, they’ll be replacing my creepers, which are too cold to wear during the colder months. I actually can’t wait to get these boots and they’re probably the number 1 thing on this list I want.

  • Flared Skater Skirt in Wine from eBay – £4.99 + £2.99 P+P

One of my friends bought this skirt recently off of eBay and after her posting a picture of her wearing it on Instagram, I fell in love, knowing I needed one myself for autumn and winter. I love wine and burgundy colours and this will go perfect with the chelsea boots I want, as well as the punk Disney Alice In Wonderland sweater that I have in this wish list, which will be spoken about underneath this item.  This would also look great with my pleather spiked jacket, as well as my navy military coat. eBay can be a bit risky sometimes with clothes, bags, shoes etc as before now I’ve bought a bag from an eBay seller and within just a month of use it’s started to rip, which really is a shame but I know for just under £8.00 for this skirt, I wouldn’t be losing a lot of money if it ripped and as I was taught how to sew from a young age, I’m sure any minor rip or tear, would fix this no problem. I reckon I’d wear this loads during winter, as with a good coat, thick leggings and boots I’d be toasty warm!

  • Punk Disney Alice In Wonderland Sweater from eBay/Twisted Apparel – £25.99 + Free P+P

Funny story behind this sweater, but also a great one! I got a random follow on Twitter from Twisted Apparel and whilst most follows from online clothes stores on Twitter piss me off, this one was rather pleasant as their clothes are amazing and I haven’t wanted a sweater so much since I bought my grey  Spider Man one back in June! I wasn’t sure what size I should add with my watch list for this on eBay so I messaged the store via a Twitter DM and the guy was really nice and answered my question with no problems and such. I can’t wait to order this sweater and I know for a fact I’ll wear it loads. I love Alice In Wonderland anyway and out of all the punk, emo, gothic, etc editing that have been done on Disney Princesses, this is by far the best one I’ve seen! They also do the Alice In Wonderland design as a vest and a t-shirt, plus they also do a Little Mermaid design too but I’m not as keen on this one, go check it out though if you like this sort of thing! Literally can’t wait to get my hands on this! If I don’t buy it for myself, I’ll try and ask for it for Christmas off of someone. 😛

  • Pocket Full Of Monsters T-Shirt from teeturtle.com – $20.00 + Not sure of P+P

Years ago I mentioned Tee Turtle’s store in a post when I wanted one of their t-shirts but I never bought that t-shirt in the end. I heard about this company through a friend of mine, who loves geeky t-shirts, just like the ones that Tee Turtle designs and sells. They’re an American online store and apparently it can be expensive to get their t-shirts to the UK, but I think this t-shirt would be worth every penny. I’m a total nerd when it comes to Pokemon, my favourites being the Eeveelutions, as well as Pokemon like Dragonite, Mew, Vulpix and many more! This t-shirt would be such a geeky thing for me and I’d probably wear it when I was chilling around the house, hey maybe even try and be fashionable and when I eventually buy the Cut Out High-Waisted Black Skirt With Shoulder-Strap from Choies which I mentioned in October’s Wish List it would look awesome! It looks like a dull black/dark grey t-shirt so it would look great with a pair of baggy jeans too, as well as a cute pair of shorts for evenings out if you want to try and look nice without making too much effort. I’m unsure if I will buy this anytime soon, but I’ll damn well try to! If you like geeky t-shirts like this one, go and check out their other t-shirts. They have four other Pokemon pocket t-shirts like this one and they’re all as cute as each other!

  • Beyond: Two Souls for PS3 from Game –  £ 42.99 for special edition and £40.99 for standard edition.

Since the age of 6 I’ve been addicted to games and after waiting for years for this game, it’s finally here and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! I’ve played both Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain and now I’m ready to play this next. I don’t buy games for my PS3 as much anymore as I used to due to lack of funds and sometimes I will buy a new game and not play it for ages, however I know I would play this game day and night until it was finished, 100%! I’m on 98% for Heavy Rain at the moment, but due to it crashing all the time, I don’t think I’ll ever complete the 2% I need for that platinum trophy, which sucks so much! This game is pretty new so it’s still going to be pricey so I don’t mind waiting for this to drop in price, however if I was to find a second-hand copy of this going cheap, I wouldn’t let it stop me from snapping it up in a heartbeat. If I don’t buy it before Christmas, I know I can always rely on my Dad to offer to buy it me for Christmas or my birthday, he’s great with presents as he’s the only one who buys me games.

  • LEGO Marvel Super Heroes for PS3 from Game – £37.99 for super pack edition and £34.99 for standard edition.

Another game huh? I love LEGO games and LEGO have created another one to add to their collection, Marvel Super Heroes. I remember earlier this year researching this game after hearing it was being made and knowing that I would want it when it came out. LEGO always seem to bring new releases out in November and this comes out on 15th November this year, exciting huh? You get to play as Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Captain America, Spider Man, all of The Fantastic Four, Thor and even Loki. Exciting huh? I don’t care if these games are aimed at children, I loved playing with my LEGO as a kid and these games are so much fun to play that they just remind me of my childhood! I’ll probably ask for this for Christmas, but I thought I would  mention it here as I am really excited for it this month.

So that was  my wish list for November, but with Christmas just being around the corner, I doubt I’ll be able to buy much for myself due to both lack of funds and needing as many funds as possible for the Christmas period.

Once again I want to thank my boyfriend for allowing me to use his MacBook Pro to edit together the image on Photoshop, as well as type this post up. I’ve been sat listening to Four Floors Of Whores rehearse ready for their tour… As I’m actually writing this post up towards the end of October.

I’m going to be so terribly busy this month that most of the posts throughout it will have been written during October.

So, what’s on your wish lists for November? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care and I wish you all a good November!

Illamasqua – Freak Scarab

Image taken from illamasqua.com

On 12th October Illamasqua announced via their YouTube page with a video (of course) that they were adding “the next chapter in our fragrance story” and followed this with “The decadent new fragrance, a unisex extrait de parfum. It enchants. Captivates. Corrupts.” as soon as I saw the video I went crazy and was so excited about it! Here’s the video for anyone who’s interested and may not have seen it yet:

It was announced to have more information released about it on the 18th October and even though it was only 6 days after it being announced on YouTube, I was super excited!

I popped to the Illamasqua counter in Selfridges the next day and asked if they were able to tell me anything about the new fragrance, but they told me it was all top-secret and even they didn’t know anything about it… So I was left to wait to find out more.

Eventually the 6 days passed on last Friday I was able to read about Illamasqua’s new fragrance, Freak Scarab:

Some images of the bottle were leaked on the internet, but it was the fragrances notes that I was interested in and of course, Illamasqua spoke about these on their website.

They speak about how they came up with the idea of the fragrance, especially it’s name:

Illamasqua Freak Scarab continuously transforms itself. A fragrance that heralds the daily rebirth of beauty and indulgence.

The ancient Egyptians believed that the scarab beetle was the embodiment of the sun. While the snake god fought the sun god every night, it was the scarab – self-creating and self-reforming -that ensured the sun rose again every morning.

As well as that, it of course talks about the notes in Freak Scarab too:

Top Notes: Blood Orange, Neroli Absolute and Ylang Ylang awaken and entice the senses.

Heart Notes: Davana Oil entwines with Egyptian Jasmine, Honeysuckle and Queen of the Night to form a sensual heart.

Base Notes: The warmth of Stewed Plum creates a distant depth, leading to the rich ancient accord of Mousse de Sax – Geranium, Anise, Moss and Leather.

I think this scent is going to smell very warm and while I’m not 100% sure if I’ll like it or not, a part of me reckons I shall. Freak is one of my favourite scents, as it smells like nothing else out there on the fragrance market and as Freak and Freak Scarab are unisex, men can wear them too.

The images for Freak Scarab on Illamasqua’s website look incredible and I just have to show them to you:

Image taken from illamasqua.com

Image taken from illamasqua.com

Image taken from illamasqua.com

As you can see, the 75ml bottle also contains a little creature on the side of it, like Freak does. Freak (as many shall know) has a little silver snail, whilst Freak Scarab (of course) has a little gold Scarab beetle on it. The bottle also appears to have gold glitter or lustre running throughout the black glass of the bottle, which looks really classy and beautiful.

The only downside with this being a new perfume is… It’s only available in 75ml at the moment and it costs £85.00 a bottle… Which I don’t even earn a week! Ouch!

However, this isn’t an issue for me as to be honest if I end up liking this perfume I’ll want to wait for a 30ml bottle before I buy. My bottle of Freak is only a 30ml size and it’s lasted me about a year now, however I do need to buy another bottle soon!

So, will you be giving Illamasqua’s Freak Scarab a sniff soon? Or do you think you’ll pass?

Do you like Illamasqua’s first fragrance, Freak?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care!

September Favourites

DSC_0002

I can’t believe September is finally over, it went by really quickly, didn’t it? I know I say this every month but I really can’t believe how quickly this year is going, it’ll be Christmas in a couple of months (insert gulp here)!

It’s not started to get chillier and as I write this I appear to have cold like symptoms, so I’m wrapped up warm in bed with a cup of tea and watching Disney films (I have Sleeping Beauty on at the moment) while I write-up some blog posts.

As stressful as September has been, it’s also been an amazing month and I’m glad to say I really enjoyed September this year, here’s to a great October!

Now, let me show you what products I enjoyed using throughout September.

DSC_0006

  • Imperial Leather Foamburst Luxurious Body Wash in Moisturising Honey & Almond Milk.

I bought this after seeing it in Sainsbury’s on offer and when I get home from work I stink of coffee and sometimes have sticky forearms from where syrups and sauces have gone all over me from making all sorts of drinks for people so I like to have a quick shower when I get back. The foamburst body washes have been out for years and I used to use them all the time, both for washing my body as well as for shaving and I don’t know why I ever stopped using them to be perfectly honest. The honey and almond milk in this body wash is really moisturising on the skin and leaves me feeling soft as a babies bum! I like to use this for shaving too, as it leaves a really nice smooth finish afterwards. These come in different scents and such too, as well as some limited edition versions that come out once or twice a year. These are just really quick and easy to use, especially if you’re in a hurry and that’s what I like about them so much. I definitely recommend this one if you have dry skin like myself, as it just feels like a treat, especially now the weather is getting colder. On top of all that, this smells amazing! I love it so much and will definitely be repurchasing, alongside another scent maybe.

  • Garnier Intensive 7 Days Hand Cream in Dry To Extra-Dry.

In my September Favourites in 2012 I spoke about this hand cream, I also spoke about it last month too! I know it’s bad to speak about the same product a month after it was previously mentioned but I swear to God, this hand cream is my savior at the moment. I’ve been to my doctor so much these past two months that I feel like a pain to go again about my eczema, but this being said I intend to go this week as it is rather painful on my hands now. In the meantime I’ve been using this hand cream as it’s really thick, moisturising and lasts a few washes. It leaves my hands feeling hydrated straight away and sinks into the skin after just a few rubs. I love this hand cream so much and recommend it to everyone when they tell me they need to find a new one to try! Go read about it in my two previous favourites (linked above) if you wish to know more about it.

  • Nina EDT by Nina Ricci.

This was a Christmas present from my brother back in 2011 and I’d always wanted to purchase it for myself, not even telling him this! He’s awesome when it comes to buying presents and always knows what to get people, without even asking. He always buys me and my Mom perfume, as he knows how girly we are at heart. Anyhoo I’ve mentioned this in a previous favourites post aggges ago, as well as in a huge perfume post I also wrote a while back (which needs updating!). But this perfume isn’t strong due to it being an EDT, which I like and due to it I’ve been wearing it for work as well as if I’m quickly popping out the house. I just like it’s citrus/floral scents and it’s perfect for if I don’t want to smell really strong of said perfume. As well as this I’ve been getting headaches from some of the my stronger perfumes lately so I’ve been wearing my EDT scents a lot more.

  • Bath & Body Works PocketBac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Pink Sugarplum.

I love PocketBac’s and like most English people and beauty bloggers alike, I’m still wanting to know WHY we don’t have these in the UK yet! Thankfully though, we do have eBay and if you search long and hard enough, you’ll find these cheap enough on there. I have a look every once in a while to find some good deals and was lucky enough to find this one for £2.00. It smells like a body spray or shower gel I would have used in my early teens and thus smells really fruity, I usually pop some of this one when I wake up in the morning before I head off to work, as the scent lasts for ages whilst I make my way to work. This is really soothing for the hands too as it contains Tahitian Palm Milk. I’ll be writing a review up for this at some point in the next few weeks. Sadly this is a limited edition hand gel for Christmas, but as it comes out every year, it’ll be back in a couple of months time. This just smells amazing and it keeps my hands nice and germ free, perfect!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Face Spa Face Mask.

I was supposed to mention two of these face masks but I couldn’t for the life of me find the other one, which is their Tea Tree Face Spa face mask. These are both sheet masks which you use the same as normal clay or peel off face masks and I found that they cost the same as other Montagne Jeunesse face masks, so that made me happy. Out of the two I do prefer the Dead Sea face mask. After using it my skin felt soft and somewhat tingly and cool, which I thought was really nice as the evening I used this, it was rather warm. I liked how easy they were to take out of the packet and apply to your face. But what I loved the most was how easy they were to take back off again and how it left my skin feeling. The Dead Sea mask left my skin looking great and somewhat brighter so this is something I’m definitely going to use in future before a special day or evening out. I used the Tea Tree mask when I was breaking out quite a little and for a few days after using it, I didn’t break out but after that I sadly did, but I wasn’t that bothered as the few days after using the mask I was spot free so it’s clearly something you would use a few days before an important event, evening, etc.

  • Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising Lip Balm.

I hadn’t used this lip balm for a while as I didn’t feel my lips were becoming dry and chapped enough during the spring and summer months to keep it in my handbag… However now the weather has suddenly started to get chillier I have needed to keep this in my handbag, as well as next to my bed. I use this at work quite a lot and when I’m out and about as it’s just a great pick me up if my lips are feeling a little sore, and best of all it makes a great base underneath a lipstick. I have missed using this lip balm and I really need to stock up on the again as I usually like to have two at a time and at the moment I only have this one. I mentioned this lip balm this time last year in my September Favourites. Go and have a read if you fancy a blast from the past.

  • Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon.

I remember when this lipstick was first announced to come out for the summer and how all the beauty bloggers were raving about them. I saw the swatches for this shade and decided I needed it in my life. Sadly when I first bought this I wore it for two days straight and then never again… That was back in May/June… I thought the shade was just a lighter version of Revlon’s Lip Butter in Candy Apple (which I own) and felt like I had wasted my money. However since the start of September and working in my store, I’ve been wearing this for quite a few shifts at work. It glides on beautifully and looks really nice. I’ve had a few comments on it by customers, one even asked what shade it was and where she could buy it from, bless her. ^_^ I love the Lip Butter’s by Revlon and I really want more of them! Right now I have my eyes on Pink Lemonade, which I might treat myself to when I go shopping with my friend Poppy in a few weeks.

  • Illamasqua Lipstick in Magnetism.

As you may have seen, I recently reviewed this lipstick, which also made an appearance in my October Favourites last year. Like Wild Watermelon, I’ve been wearing this lipstick at work since I started working in the new store, not as much mind due to this being a dark raspberry shade. I have however worn it out quite a bit when I’ve been going to see my boyfriend, going out with parents and friends and even if I have the odd errand or appointment. This lipstick is perfect for autumn due to it being a berry shade and as it isn’t drying, I don’t have to worry that after a long day at work or out and about that I’ll come home with more chapped lips than what I left the house with. It’s such a lovely lipstick and I’m glad Illamasqua decided to keep it as a permanent shade in their collection. I love using this as it’s my lazy dupe of Rebel, which I shall be wearing more of now we’ve finally hit the autumn season.

So those were my favourite products for September!

Which products did you like using throughout September? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care and here’s to a great October!

Illamasqua Magnetism Lipstick Review

Whilst I have no reviewed all of my MAC lipsticks, this won’t stop me from carrying on reviewing what other lip products I have, and as this is one of my favourites I thought it was worth finally reviewing after nearly a year of owning it.

I remember when this lipstick came out and my friend Poppy recommended I go and try it. The first time I tried it I loved the colour, but decided to leave it because it was too much like Rebel, but after going to look at it again I realised whilst it was a lot like Rebel, it was more glossy than Rebel and it would be ideal for work, so I gave in and bought it!

This was my first Illamasqua purchase, and thus my first lipstick purchase from Illamasqua too. I love this lipstick and although I haven’t worn it since last winter, its been worn loads for work the past two weeks and I forgot how much I love it!

DSC_0006

DSC_0007

I remember it like yesterday that Magnetism came out for the Generation Q Collection and it looked so nice on the various different women who wore it for the promotional images. So I took myself the second time around to the Illamasqua counter in Selfridges and got them to put this on for me. It looked beautiful and I snapped it up, I had £16 to spare and thought it would be a nice autumn/winter treat for myself.

I’ve always been told how Illamasqua lipsticks are all a matte finish and to be honest, I hate matte lipsticks with a passion. They dry my lips out and chap them really quite badly so I tend to stay away, so when I found out that Magnetism was more of a creamy and sheen finish which are the type of lipsticks I sway toward.

The evening I bought this, I wore it out to a pub/bar with my friends. It lasted ages and I’ve been hooked on it ever since.

DSC_0009

DSC_0010

Illamasqua describes Magnetism as a deep raspberry pink, but doesn’t state what finish it is, like MAC does. This is a permanent shade, even though I think when it was released (about) a year ago, it was meant to be a limited edition lipstick for the collection. I’m glad its permanent however as its such a gorgeous lipstick and probably  the only Illamasqua one I’ll purchase, until they make anymore finishes like this one anyway. The lipstick itself comes in Illamasqua’s usual black rectangular packaging, which is shiny black and has Illamasqua’s name printed on the lipsticks lid. The packaging for their lipsticks is simple, but I like simple things, personally.

The lipstick itself can look scary to some due to the fact it is a dark pink shade, but when applied to the lips it looks like a gorgeous dark pink that most skin tones would suit. It is pretty much a dupe of MAC’s Rebel, but Magnetism is more creamy than Rebel and leaves a glossy finish, whereas Rebel leaves more of a matte finish.

The finish that this lipstick leaves is beautiful and due to it being so creamy your lips don’t feel dry and it looks like you have a clear gloss over the top. This lipstick does feather but it does so in such a nice way. An example of this being when I first wore it to work, after about three or four hours of hard labor it feathered, but it left behind a nice just bitten affect, which I really liked and with some lip balm applied to the lips and a bit of rubbing with your ring finger, your lips will look just bitten and gorgeous.

I wouldn’t wear a lip liner with this lipstick as I feel it really would ruin the lipsticks beautiful colour.

This lipstick does have a slight scent of something to it, but I don’t know if it is vanilla or just my nose playing me up. Either way the scent doesn’t bother me and it doesn’t taste unpleasant so that doesn’t bother me either.

When I first bought this it soon replaced Rebel but after a while Magnetism was beaten and replaced by Rebel instead. This lipstick is gorgeous though and for me is ideal for work, whereas Rebel isn’t.

If you’re contemplating trying Rebel but you’re too scared to due to how dark and scary it does seem, I say go for Magnetism instead as while it is a dupe, its glossy and looks less scary than Rebel does.

I’ve worn this lipstick on many dates in the past, whether they be with guys or even on dinner/drink dates with my favourite girls and I’ve always found in a hurry that this lipstick’s lid has been shot across many tables at most restaurants and bars in Birmingham. Embarrassing, yes but it has left me shaking my head at this lipstick whenever I go to apply it since.

I’m so glad I have this lipstick in my collection and this month it has fast become one of my favourites to wear for work and I get nothing by compliments from customers, which I lovely in itself!

It retails for £16.50 from Illamasqua but now that Illamasqua stock their products on Debenhams website you may be able to try and get it for a maximum of 20% off in their beauty sales in future. Keep those eyes peeled!

Magnetism EDIT

I really love Magnetism and it’s pretty much become my staple for work, especially in the mornings when I need a pick me up or I’m feeling a little low. I only wear lip products, make up wise and rely on a strong lipstick to brighten up my whole face. Magnetism does this perfectly and even in the spring and summer months, this lipstick could be pulled of beautifully.

What do you think of Magnetism? Do you own it, if not have you had your eye on it? Please let me know in the comments down below!

I’ll keep trying to write lipstick reviews, I have enough of them to talk about!

Until next time, take care and have a good week everyone!

8 Most Worn Things Tag

Happy Bank Holiday everyone! I hope everyone’s day is going well so far! I’ll be at work when this post is made live on my blog, but by the time I get home I’ll have met my boyfriend at work and be cooking us dinner and having some much-needed cuddle time after not seeing each other for over a week. Which believe you and me, has sucked!

But anyway, another week, another tag!

I really enjoy doing tags, they’re so enjoyable to read so even more enjoyable to join in on too.

After reading Maliberry’s 8 Most Worn Things on Friday I decided I would give it a go myself after she tagged anyone who read her post. Go and check out Mali’s blog, she’s a wonderful person and an amazing beauty blogger.

It was really hard to try and answer some of these tags as I couldn’t pick one item for the majority, but the more the merrier eh?

1. Most worn lipstick/gloss?

DSC_0002

Left: MAC Rebel.
Right: MAC Lickable.

I couldn’t pick one lipstick, no matter how hard I tried to pick between these two I just couldn’t decide. When it comes to autumn and winter I just use both on and off over the course of each week. These are my two favourite lipsticks and depending on what I’m wearing, where I’m going etc will depend with one I reach for to wear, whether it be day or night. FYI reviews for both of these are scheduled for this Thursday and next.

2. Most worn fragrance?

DSC_0004

Left: Freak by Illamasqua.
Right: Loverdose by Diesel.

Once again, I couldn’t pick one and I ended up having two choices for this question. These are both 30ml bottles so I usually throw these into my handbag whenever I’m going to work, a night out or over to my boyfriends for the weekend. The less I have to carry in my weekend bag when I stay over, the better! I love Freak, it smells like nothing I have ever smelt before and as soon as this bottle runs out I’ll be buying another one.

My Mom bought me Loverdose as a Christmas present years ago and I’m only coming towards the end of it now. I nearly bought a 50ml bottle when it was on offer in Boots, but I didn’t have enough money and had to leave it. As soon as I have spare cash I’ll be repurchasing it. It smells really unique too. Both these perfumes are great to use throughout the entire year whether it be day or night.

3. Most worn nail polish?

DSC_0005

Frilly Knickers by Butter London.

This is by far my favourite and most used since my Mom bought it me in May. It looks lovely on its own as well as applied over darker colours. It dries matte so I often use this over nail print designs so that they dry quickly and look nice at the same time. I love this polish so much, I’m going to paint my nails with it later today me thinks.

4. Most worn hair product?

DSC_0006

Left: Head & Shoulders Citrus Fresh.
Middle: Philosophy Summer Grace Shampoo, Bath & Shower Gel.
Right: Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner.

I don’t really use products on my hair and whenever I have I’ve fast regretted it. I don’t use dry shampoo as it annoys me how it is pretty much talcum powder and gets everywhere! Plus I don’t really straighten my hair or design it in any way so I don’t really use gel or hair spray. I just wash my hair with Head & Shoulders to get any dirt and dandruff out, then wash with a nice shampoo, which is currently Summer Grace until I have money to buy some nice shampoo and finally my Liz Earle conditioner, which I love! It makes my hair so lovely and soft.

5. Most worn handbag?

DSC_0007

Front of tartan backpack from New Look.

DSC_0008

Back of tartan backpack from New Look.

I love this bag so much. It suites everything I wear and it’s such a huge bag that you can throw everything in it and still have room for more things. I remember buying it after a crap first day at my work experience at a well-known newspaper (which shall not be named…) and I wanted some retail therapy. This bag isn’t available anymore and at the time I had wanted this bag for months so I was glad to finally have it. I have thought about adding some studs onto the pockets on the front and along the straps too, but whether I do this or not, I’m unsure, we shall see. I definitely want to stick some badges on it… Think I’ll do that after I finish this post…

6. Most worn earrings?

… Okay I don’t have my ears pierced so I’m having to change this to:

6. Most worn jewellery?

DSC_0009

Closed red heart locket necklace.

DSC_0010

Open red heart locket necklace.

My Mom bought me this locket back in 2009/2010 and it’s one of the nicest things she could have bought me. It didn’t cost a lot but it’s the thought that counted. We were in Argos when she was buying herself something, she could see I was looking at the necklaces and said, “Nat you don’t have any proper jewellery do you?” to which I shook my head and she asked which necklace I would like, to which she bought me this locket. Still to this day I haven’t put any pictures inside of it and I don’t really have a reason why. Whenever I wear this I get such lovely compliments and it always makes me think of my Mom.

7. Most worn shoes?

Post about them here.

I’m sorry but I just couldn’t wear one pair of shoes, I just couldn’t! I wear a different pair all the time. I bought my Topshop flats at the start of 2012 but never started to wear them until spring this year. They’re the most wonderful shoes and I doubt I’ll wear them as much in the autumn and winter time.

My Vans skate shoes are the oldest shoes I own and I bought them when I was 16 years old, so they’re seven years old and still to this day they’re pretty much my favourite shoes. If I could wear them for work, my life would be complete! They’re just so damn comfortable and have never let me down during the winter time when it’s icy.

My creepers are great and out of all the pairs here were the cheapest. I don’t wear these as much as I used to but I know as autumn and winter comes along these will replace my flats. This my second pair of creepers as my first pair got massive holes in the bottoms.

Finally my Dr Martens. I’ve owned these over a year now and they’re also my favourite shoes. If you check out how they used to look when I first bought them, you’ll see how well-worn they’ve grown over the year. I’ve worn these in spring, summer, autumn, winter, to Stratford Upon Avon, to Coventry, to Wolverhampton, to Cheltenham and in pretty much every club in Birmingham. I love these boots so much and will wear them lots throughout autumn and winter.

8. Most worn shirt?

DSC_0012

Black poodle t-shirt by Altru.

DSC_0014

The Amazing Spider-Man sweatshirts both from Forever 21.

I actually have five shirts altogether but I cut out two from being in this post due to realising I don’t wear them all as much as I do with these three. I bought my poodle t-shirt back in 2009/2010 from Urban Outfitters during one of their sales. I wore it to university all the time and also on nights out. One afternoon it wasn’t traceable anywhere in the house and it upset me that I could have lost one of my favourite t-shirts. Two days later still with no luck of finding it I purchased another, only to arrive at home to my Mom saying, “Nat I found that t-shirt, it was inside a pillowcase!” but I never returned the second t-shirt so now I have two of them. That t-shirt is also slightly famous, it features on an advert that I’m in for the university that I attended, which is pretty cool.

I love Spider-Man and I have done from a young age and when I saw these in Forever 21 (on different occasions/years) I just had to try them on and buy them. The red one was the first I bought in 2012 and it was something I wore quite a lot throughout the winter months with a pair of baggy jeans during the day and shorts for nights out. I’ve worn it for bed before now too just because it’s so damn comfortable, as well as looks really nice with your hair down and some bed shorts. The grey one I bought a couple of months ago and while it was a silly thing to buy at the time due to the warm weather, I knew if I didn’t I would never see it again and I haven’t since, so it was a good idea to buy it. I wore it for the first time the weekend before last and it was so comfortable to wear with skinny jeans. I’m planning on wearing either one of these at work tomorrow, not sure which one…

So we have come to the end of my 8 most work things and thus the end of this tag.

I really enjoyed doing it and I tag ALL OF YOU to do it too!

Please link your blog down below if you do it, I’d love to see your answers to the questions.

Hope you enjoyed this post and I also hope your bank holiday is going well.

Until next time, take care all and have a great day!

Illamasqua Raindrops nail varnish review

I read about Raindrops towards the end of 2011 on Temptalia’s website but as I continued to read I felt rather disappointed to find out that it wasn’t being made another and had sadly discontinued. I accepted I’d been a little too late to get my hands on this polish and said to myself I would look for something similar.

However luck came my way a year later (end of 2012) when I found out that Illamasqua were due to re-release Raindrops as part of their Broken Heart collection so as soon as I had the chance to try it on, I did!

After having a look at the new Archie’s Girls Collection for MAC I wandered over to Illamasqua to try on a few coats of this and I fell in love with it, but I knew I wanted to have a think about it before I decided to buy. At the end of the day I’m not allowed to wear polish to work, so I wanted to see if this was as sheer as I’d been hearing from reviews online.

I went back on Saturday gone with my friend Poppy and after much thought I decided to purchase. it’s light enough that I can get away with it at work and it’ll be perfect throughout all the seasons. I’ve never owned a grey polish before, so this is something that had to be in my collection!

Illamasqua describe Raindrops as a sheer light grey nail polish with a jelly finish. The packaging for Illamasqua has always been simple and I rather like that. The polish is definitely sheer and even with two coats doesn’t show up as much as I’d like it to, however this is a good thing for me due to work but I’m super excited to wear plenty of coats of this when I’m on my next holiday from work, excited!

I tried my best to get a good picture of what the glitter throughout the polish looks like, as personally I’ve never seen anything like this. The glitter isn’t chunky or huge, but rather delicate and of a silver colour to go hand in hand with the grey. Usually with glitter polishes they’re either full of glitter, which is usually rather chunky or they hardly have any glitter and you need to ensure you get at least one nail covered in glitter. This polish is very different as whilst most glitter sits on the top of the polish, this sits underneath the polish, which is great and looks beautiful.

As well as that, it makes removing this polish a doddle! No more sitting there scrubbing away with the remover soaked cotton  pads, or your fingers wrapped in tin foil! Perfect!

Of course for me whilst it doesn’t matter as much as it might for others, I do keep my eye out on how well it wears and things like that. This doesn’t chip very easily at all and after a busy couple of days at work this lasted really well and I didn’t feel the  need to remove and re apply, even though I have since writing this post as I’m a fussy bugger and have to paint my nails on a Sunday, remove Wednesday to re apply and then remove Sunday to start all over again. Weird yes, but that’s just how I am.

The sad news is that this has sold out online, however I picked this up in Selfridges when I went shopping with Poppy so if you check your local Illamasqua counter, you may be able to pick up a bottle! As this polish is so popular right now, I’m sure Illamasqua won’t be out of stock too much longer. These do retail for £13.50, which I think is a great price!

Some fun and exciting news to do with Raindrops is that Illamasqua are holding a fun event over on their Facebook than when they reach 100,000 likes on their page that they’ll be making a pink version of Raindrops. They’ve even released photos of what it’ll look like!

Doesn’t it look gorgeous?! The page is currently at 97,824 (21/2/13) so I hope those numbers hurry up and grow as I want to hurry up and get my paws on this polish! I wonder if it’ll get a new name, or just something simple like ‘Raindrops Limited Edition Pink Version’?

Who knows eh? I hope you enjoyed this review. Do you own Raindrops? If so do you like it? If you don’t own it, do you want it? Let me know in the comments below!

P.S. Sorry I haven’t posted any swatches of this on my nails, but my nails aren’t exactly the best at the moment but I’m going to be posting swatches in future!
