April Favourites ’20

Can you believe that it’s May already? Damn where is 2020 going, apart from down the pan due to Coronavirus… Sorry for the negativity at the start of my post, but come on… I’m sure you’ll all agree? πŸ˜›

How are you all doing during the lock down, both in the UK, as well as where you’re from? Personally whilst I’m enjoying being and working from home, it’s starting to get to me a little. I miss seeing my family and friends, as well as going out for leisure without a care in the world. It sucks feeling anxious whilst going out to buy milk and bread.

However, there are some plus sides to this. I’m getting to spend a little bit more time with Dane, I’m saving money but most of all I am starting to do things with my friends (especially my best friend) and that makes me happy. πŸ™‚ Every cloud has a silver lining.

Before I start this months favourites post, I just want to say that I’m her for you, as a friend if you need to talk. Right now we are living in uncertain and scary times and my own mental health is being affected right now. I don’t wish to think people are suffering alone in silence. Remember, my email is always open, as well as my DM’s via Twitter and Instagram. We will get through this, we will. πŸ™‚

Anyhoo, on with this months favourites! I’m not going to lie… I kind of struggled. πŸ˜›

  • Imperial Leather Shake Your Bambootay Shower Gel.

I’m sorry I have another Imperial Leather shower gel up this month, but I bought quite a few before the lock down, okay? πŸ˜› I much prefer this one to the unicorn one I spoke about in my favourites last month, purely for the scent. This has a fruity and fresh scent, which I’ve really been loving using in the mornings before I start work as I find it wakes me up and gets me ready for the day. Plus both me and Dane have found this really moisturising on the skin, which has been really nice. I’m glad I bought a couple of bottles of this now, as I really do like it. πŸ™‚

  • Boots Eye Drops for Dry & Irritated Eyes.

I’ve owned these eye drops since my trip to Japan and I still have loads of product left in the bottle. I love using eye drops everyday before I start work/the day in general as I feel it really wakes me up and refreshes my eyes. These have been so essential during the lock down, as I find it just makes me feel that little bit more ready for the day… Especially as I’m working from home. I honestly recommend eye drops to everyone, especially if your eyes feel tired when you wake up in the morning. I find a couple of drops make a huge difference.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Aloe Moisturiser for Combination Skin (review).

I honestly love this moisturiser so much and I’m hesitant to change from this to something else, as I feel like I’ve found something that works so good for my skin. My morning skincare routine has changed during the lock down and I have gone from doing a full routine, to under half of it. I’m only really using my moisturiser, and occasionally my serum and eye gel if I feel I need them. I don’t see the point in using all my products up everyday… This moisturiser has really helped my skin out lately, as my face has felt so tight and dry. I’ve actually had to buy another bottle of this, as I’m really close to this one running out now. I’ve linked back to my review of this from back in 2017. Yes, I have been using this product for 3 years now and I have zero regrets.

  • Peacci Nail Varnish in Ophelia.

I couldn’t not mention this nail varnish this month as I have loved it so much. I actually get my nails painted with gel by my lovely nail tech, but obviously due to the lock down, this hasn’t been an option for me… I get my nails painted with The Gel Bottle, who also have a sister company called Peacci. Peacci created the same gorgeous colours that The Gel Bottle do BUT in a nail varnish formula. I can’t get my nails done by my nail tech, so I’m doing myself with the nail varnish alternative for the time being. I picked up two colours, Valentina and Ophelia. Valentina is a pink holographic shade, whilst Ophelia is a dark nude pink colour. I’ve worn these two shades together in their gel form and it’s probably my favourite nail manicure I’ve had to date, hence why I bought their nail varnish versions. I’m currently wearing Ophelia and it’s gorgeous. It’s lasted ages and compliments my skin tone. I’m hoping to do a review of these and Peacci in the future. Would you like to see it? If not on a blog post, maybe an IGTV video?

  • Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser.

I’ve mentioned this baby moisturiser before on my blog and here I am again, sharing it with you all and why it’s amazing. I have said many a time on my blog, I have eczema on my hands and it would seem that the older I get, the worse it has gotten. It got to a really bad point before my trip to Japan in late 2019 when I had a massive rough patch on my right hand. I ended up going to the doctors as peoples comments on it were upsetting me. It turned out to be dermatitis and I still need to go to a special doctor for more tests in case there is more to it. Although this patch has cleared up at the moment, it was around at the start of April. The Body Shop hand lotion I was using wasn’t enough and I started using my Childs Farm moisturiser again. This has really helped my hands and at the time of writing this, they’re lovely and soft. πŸ™‚ I honestly cannot recommend this enough! It isn’t just for hands either, it can be used all over the body.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

Not going to lie. Tiger King was something I had to watch twice and I’m glad I did. Everyone and their cat (ha!) has watched Tiger King and discussed it in full. It’s a Netflix series all about the breeding of tigers in America and some crime that happened during that time revolving around Joe Exotic. I watched it once and I was very much “What the fuck did I just watch? I don’t actually understand what happened.” A week later, I watched it again and understood (kind of…) what had happened. I was surprised though. I have to say here, I am pissed off at anyone who is making merchandise from this and selling. Don’t sell shit based on animal cruelty, potential murder and all around crime. It’s not cool.

Favourite Movie –Β The Cat Returns.

As we all know, all the Studio Ghibli films are now on Netflix, which is amazing! Me and Dane own them all on DVD anyway, but it’s nice to have them on Netflix to watch as and when we fancy watching them. We recently put on The Cat Returns to watch together, as this is one of Dane’s favourites. I always forget how much I love Natoru (in the gif), as well as many other characters. I was surprised there wasn’t more merch in Japan to do withΒ The Cat Returns.

Favourite Book – Urgh. I don’t read anymore haha.

Nope. I didn’t read again this month. Honestly guys, I’m just not finding the time between working, playing games, chilling on video chats with friends and more. 😦

Favourite Song – “Gimme a Minute” – PVRIS.

PVRIS released a new single from their upcoming album this month and I haven’t stopped listening to it to be honest with you. I love everything about it, including the lyrics and the electropop/alternative rock sound that I adore. I only discovered PVRIS a year ago and I have really fallen in love with them. I honestly can’t wait for their new album to come out in July. It was meant to be out today but that was pushed back due to coronavirus… 😦

Favourite Game – Still Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Of course this is going to be here for another month… I mean, why wouldn’t it? It’s officially been a month since the new Animal Crossing game came out and I am still playing it everyday. I have all my villagers on my island now, as well as 4 I moved in thanks to amiibo cards. I have started to terraform my island now and I’m starting to get into the swing of things. I really do love this game and I especially love playing with my friends. πŸ™‚

So, those are my favourites from April! Again, I can’t believe we are already into May. It’s crazy how quick the past month has flown by, but I’m honestly going to blame coronavirus for that. I don’t mind how quick it’s going. The sooner things can go back to normal, the better.

What were your favourites from April? Also, how are you all doing during this time? What are you doing to keep yourself sane? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time all, take care and stay safe!

March Favourites ’20

I can’t believe we are already into April… March went by pretty quickly and it was a mixture of a great and a surreal month. March is not only the month of Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming out, but also the month that we were put into isolation here in the UK due to the coronavirus. Due to that, March has been… Odd. Well, the end of March anyway. I’m currently working from home, so my week is busy with doing my usual job. However, in the evenings and over the weekends, I’m playing Animal Crossing, binging TV Shows and watching stuff on Disney+. It’s amazing to be honest with you, staying in, saving money and doing things I enjoy. OH and online shopping… πŸ˜›

This months favourites are a mixture of nothing special and kind of predictable due to the lock down so… Either way, I hope you enjoy! πŸ˜€

  • Imperial Leather Cosmic Unicorn Shower Gel.

I actually picked up this shower gel when me and Dane went for a “big” shop just before the lock down happened. I actually bought it for Dane but I’ve ended up using it myself. It’s got a unique scent and I can’t quite put my finger on what it smells like to be honest with you… It smells sweet but with a floral twist to give it an adult sort of smell… If you know what I mean? It lathers really nicely and makes me feel really soft. It was only a Β£1 too, so very good value for money.

  • The Body Shop Satsuma Hand Cream.

My best friend Gabriella (hey Gab!) bought this for me for Christmas and since being on lock down and working from home, I have been using this load recently. Alongside the strawberry scent from The Body Shop, the satsuma one also reminds me of my childhood, when my mom would buy me the shower gels as a treat. These hand creams are a hit and miss usually with my skin due to my eczema, but at the moment my skin is LOVING it! I especially love the smell of this, which perks me up whilst I’m working from home.

  • Being by Sanctuary Spa Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom Body Lotion.Β

This was part of a gift set I received at Christmas and it’s definitely something that was good to receive. I love a good gift set that is full of pampering type goodies, especially when they smell good. This scent is fruity, sweet and fresh! My feet have been really dry lately and in need of some major TLC! Seeing as I’m working from home, I’ve been making sure to wear plenty of body lotion on my feet with some socks on, with this body lotion being my choice of cream. This has really helped my feet improve in just a week and I am so grateful.

  • Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

This is my saviour right now and I know I only recently mentioned this on one of my favourite posts, but it deserves another mention to be honest. This is a thick butter that has a gorgeous tart lemon scent behind it. I use this all the time during work, so I wasn’t going to change that whilst working from home. The soles of my feet have been on and off dry lately, but using this alongside the body lotion above have really helped! Honestly, I love this stuff so much and as soon as I am coming towards the end of the tin, I will be buying a new one!

  • Original Dettol Liquid.

I know this is a random item for my favourites this month, but hear me out. Recently Estelle (over at Estellosaurus) mentioned on her Twitter about Dettol baths and it made me want one… So, when me and Dane went out for a shop a few weeks back, I made sure to pick one up. I love the smell of Dettol, it’s so clean and fresh and I know I’m going to be left feeling clean afterwards. I pop a cap and a half of this into the bath and it’s perfect! I don’t bother putting any bubble bath, or bath bombs in etc. You don’t need them when you have the liquid.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Ugly Betty.

This is a show I loved back in the day when it came out. I never watched season 1, but I began after season 2 came out. I was at university at the time and wanted the job that Betty had (although I don’t think I would now… :P) so this show was perfect for me. I loved fashion, but I was a nerd too so… I could relate to Betty. I was also mocked during my time at college and university and called “Ugly Betty” with someone once explaining why they called me that – “You’re so pretty deep down but you hide it under your ugly clothes, hair, glasses and no make up.” I was pretty insulted to say the least. I loved Betty, I could relate so much after that shit was said to me. Betty is a girl from Queens who joins a big fashion magazine to work as an assistant. There are 4 seasons and plenty of drama along the way. It’s on Amazon Prime right now, so if you fancy some nostalgia, or want to watch something new then make sure to give it a go!

Favourite Movie – Parasite.

I watched this film at the start of March and saying I really loved it is a huge understatement. This film is AMAZING to be honest with you and fresh to the film industry. It’s no surprise that it won so many awards. A family find themselves in the slums, with no money and rarely any work. The sons friend grants them an opportunity to get a decent job and some decent money along with it. I don’t want to say too much, but I would definitely recommend trying to watch it if you can!

Favourite Book – Guys…

Yeah. I didn’t read again this month… I know I said I would but to be honest with everything that has happened this past month and Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming out… I just haven’t had time.

Favourite Song– Doja Cat, Tyga – “Juicy”.

Honestly couldn’t not mention this song this month considering I can’t stop listening to it! I can’t actually remember where I heard it… I have a feeling it was on social media somewhere. The song is literally about the singer having a big bum… Which isn’t a bad thing! I have a big arse so I can relate to this song. FYI, the music video above is raunchy, but whatever. πŸ˜› I just like how she sings about natural beauty, eating whatever she wants and cellulite. I know a lot of women out there will think the song is degrading, but when you naturally have a fat arse and have cellulite, you will relate to this. Plus, it’s a sexy song with a catchy tune! πŸ˜›

Me on my island!

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I don’t know if I have enough time to talk about this game on this post, so I may need to have a separate post about it BUT, I LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS SO DAMN MUCH! I’ve had this almost 2 weeks now and honestly it has been really good for relaxing me, as well as taking my mind off of what is happening in the world right now. My Twitter has blown up and all I see these days now is talk of Animal Crossing, which is AMAZING! Both me and Dane got the game on the day it launched, we picked it up from Smyths and played it pretty much nonstop the day it was out. Since then I have played on and off each day, I’m building up my island, getting new villagers (one at the time of writing this post is Marshal… YAY!) and having fun playing with friends too. πŸ™‚ Would you guys like to see me write a post about Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

So, there are my favourites from March! As I said at the start of the post, March flew by and I can’t believe it’s April already. I am planning to spend this month isolating as much as I can, celebrating Dane’s birthday and eating yummy Easter eggs in a couple of weeks. πŸ˜›

How are you all doing? How are you dealing with isolation? What are your favourite things from March? Make sure to tell me in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and stay safe. πŸ™‚

December Wish List ’17

Not going to lie, I didn’t know whether to make this wish list a Christmas with list or just a casual monthly one. Let’s just say I went for the latter! It’ll be Christmas Eve where I do my Christmas wish list, with a funny twist, so please keep your eyes peeled for that in the next couple of weeks.

But for now I decided to focus on thingsΒ  that I’d love to buy, but probably won’t (well maybe one or two things off of the list… ESSENTIALS YO!) due to Christmas being right around the corner. My wish list is a bit lame this month, but it’ll do the job! πŸ˜›

  • Carmex Skinny Dip Limited Edition Unicorn Sugar Plum – Β£2.59 (link)

I’ve always had a soft spot for Carmex but I always forget about how much I like it until I buy a new tube or jar. I recently bought the cherry flavour for my holiday a few months back and fell in love all over again. I saw online that Skinny Dip were teaming up with Carmex again to bring out not only a unicorn themed jar, BUT also a sugar plum scent/flavour! As soon as I see this in the shops I’ll be picking it up! I need myself a festive lip balm to apply. As sad as it sounds, I’ll probably pick up a couple to stock up! I love sugar plum scented things. πŸ˜›

  • A Polar Bear in Love Vol. 1 – Β£8.91 (link)

I recently heard about this manga from Akidearest, a YouTuber who talks about a lot of Japanese related stuff on her channel. Like myself and many other people, she also does a monthly favourites and this was one of the items from it! It’s about a polar bear who is in love with a baby seal, but the baby seal is just constantly scared that the polar bear will eat it. So it’s constantly running away! The polar bear doesn’t know though how scared the seal is so whenever he attempts to run away, the polar bear just goes after it for cuddles and affection. It just sounds adorable and from the previews I’ve seen, it also looks hilarious! I doubt very much I’ll be getting this for Christmas, so as soon as Christmas and my birthday have been, I’ll be ordering this.

  • Elodie the Unicorn Humidifier – Β£39.99 (link)

This is an item I wanted to pick up when it was a Kickstarter! I was going to get the full deal of the humidifier, ramen bowl, mug and planter. I was ordering it and getting myself psyched for it, when I found out it would cost Β£20 for shipping and that didn’t include any import I might be charged. Gutted, I left it. I’m glad I did however because now Firefox, a UK Based online store are stocking this! I’ll definitely be picking this up in the future to use around the house. I want to put essential oils in, lavender before and during bed time, and eucalyptus when me and Dane feel poorly. I know it’s not cheap at Β£40, but I want it and need it in my life and in my home! πŸ˜›

  • Romwe Block Striped Heart Patch Sweater Coat – Β£18.33 (link)

When Lazy Oaf brought out their BORING rainbow cardigan, the blogging world went crazy. YouTubers were buying it and then everyone else was until it was sold out and not really available anymore. I really wanted the cardigan but over Β£50 for a cardigan? Oh hell no. As bad as it sounds I scoured Depop and eBay for fakes, but as of yet I just haven’t found one I like the look of, or trust to actually look ANYTHING like the picture. So I left it. Then I recently saw Jess over at iamfoxxtailz talk about this cardigan and show it off in a lookbook (you can read her post about this cardigan here). I thought, “Urgh someone else lucky enough to have and afford the Lazy Oaf one…” But how wrong I was! In actual fact the one she was wearing was from Romwe! I looked for a solid week on the website for it and had zero luck, then whilst writing this post I looked again and eventually found it, IN THE COATS SECTION! This is not a bloody coat!!! I went to order it to be honest but it was saying it would cost me Β£6.00 postage, which sucks to be honest. Not only that but it’s one size, it could be too small for me, which would suck. I want the oversized look in this cardigan so I can snuggle into it at work, at home and when out and about. I’m tempted to just treat myself to the Lazy Oaf one, but fuck it’s so expensive. That’s a food shop to me. πŸ˜› We shall see what happens!

  • Inc.redible Jelly Shot in shade Watch Me Go – Β£8.00 (link)

I had a feeling that Nails Inc were going to come out with a lipstick line when they had two lip products in the Beauty of Dreams gift set (which you can read about here) and I couldn’t find them ANYWHERE online! It was just a sneak peak of what was to come as a week or two ago Nails Inc came out with Inc.redible, a new beauty brand that so far has loads of amazing lip products, including these jelly shot tinted lip balms. I really want to get my hands on the green one as it looks amazing both in the tube, as well as on the lips. It leaves a light pink stain which I’m always down with. I’ll definitely be picking this up as soon as I can!

  • Imperial Leather Foamburst Unicorn Marshmallow Shower Gel – Β£2.00 (link)

This is something I wouldn’t mind picking up to say I tried it and I probably will when I go into Boots next! I’ve used the foamburst shower gel before and they are amazing. They always remind me of when I was a kid when they first came out. Me and my mom both loved these and still do! I’m pretty sure she still buys the vanilla scented ones. Me and Dane have both used the marshmallow hand wash, shower gel and bubble bath by Imperial Leather so I’m pretty sure this marshmallow foamburst will be lovely to use on cold weekend mornings. For Β£2.00 I don’t mind giving this a go. πŸ˜›

So that was my wish list for December! I’m pretty sure there is more stuff I could have added to the list, but my mind has gone blank to be honest.

As I said as well, I will have a Christmas wish list up on Christmas Eve, which will be fun so keep eyes peeled for that! Anything I couldn’t add to this list will definitely be on that one!

What items do you have on your wish lists this month? Both in general and for Christmas, I want to know!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend!

June Favourites ’17

It is now July and month seven of the year! 2017 is going by so quickly and whilst a part of me is somewhat glad about that, it’s also always creepy when we edge into another month. Soon it’ll be August bank holiday, then holiday and autumn, then Halloween and bonfire night, and then Christmas and New Year. Fuck. Stop time just for a bit. πŸ˜›

I loved all my favourites from last month as I discovered some new beauty products and was reminded how good some oldies are too. So I hope you enjoy this months favourites post. ^_^

  • Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Hand Wash.

I’ve been eyeing up this hand wash for ages, but never bought it as me and Dane have had LOADS of hand washes to get through. Then towards the end of the month I was able to pick up a couple of these in Poundland. They smell amazing, just like the shower cream and bubble bath. So far since me using it my eczema hasn’t disliked it, so I’m hoping and keeping fingers crossed that I’ll be okay with it! If so I’ll be buying this and using it as our regular hand wash for as long as possible. πŸ˜›

  • Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter.

I picked this lip butter up randomly when on an alcohol run before going to a friends BBQ. I’d forgotten my tin of Vaseline in the house and I KNEW I would need something for my lips. I’ve mentioned a few times this past week that my lips are still playing up on and off so I need constant moisture to keep my lips soft and from splitting again. This lip butter is amazing! I love blueberry scented things so this smells divine, but it’s also a thick lip butter which actually feels like it’s working. I have it for around the house as well as for in my handbag when I want something thick on my lips. I recommend these though if you’re not a fan of Vaseline and want to try something different.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care in Normal To Combination.

I recently reviewed this (which you can read here) and I love it so much! June has been a pretty hot month and we had some of the hottest days of the year during the month. This liquid moisturiser was wonderful to use towards the end of the month and really is something that had to feature on here! It’s also helped my skin quite a bit with my oily t-zone. Can’t complain about that at all! πŸ˜›

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

This is a lip stain I bought months ago but hardly used, until recently. I tried blending this with the shade Dewberry to create blended look with my lipstick. Not only did it look great when I applied it but it lasted ages too, which I was really happy with! It’s so comfortable to wear especially in the warm weather. My only issue with it is it smells and tastes disgusting! >.<

  • The Body Shop Oils of Life Twin-Ball Facial Massager.

This is a product I bought over a year ago and one I had hardly used until recently. With the warmer weather I thought it would be nice to use this massager on my skin after my serum and moisturiser. This has especially worked well teamed up with hydra genius! Due to the metal balls it feels lovely and cooling on the skin which I love the most about it. I don’t know if I’ve noticed any differences in my skin Β by using it yet however. I also use this under my eyes after applying my eye gel to help with my eye bags. The Body Shop have in fact released one specifically for the eye area so I’ll be buying that one very soon!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9.

Oh my God what a season this one has been! It’s definitely been one of my favourites for a long time and that is just purely down to Sasha Velour, who in turn has become my favourite drag queen. At the time of writing this (21st June AKA 2 days before the final!) I am really rooting for her to win this season. She fucking deserves it to be honest. She’s funny, unique, beautiful and not to mention down to earth and not fucking fake. I hate fake queens so damn much!

EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY GIRL WON! I am so damn happy that Sasha won season 9! She’s the only queen who wasn’t in the bottom two throughout the competition and I only realised that whilst watching it. That shit she pulled with the rose petals. Fuck yes my lady!!! I have to add that I also loved Peppermint’s performance too and I’m very glad that she came second! I’ve already said that as soon as Sasha Velour announces doing some dates in the UK I WILL be going! πŸ˜€

Favourite Film – Split.

After 5 months of saying we would watch it, me and Dane FINALLY watched Split and let me tell you, I loved it. I wanted more from James McAvoy’s character as I loved him so much. He’s also one of my favourite actors and has been since the start of his career when he played Steve in Shameless (the UK one of course, not the shitty American version!). I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film and how some people loved it and some hated it. I honestly can understand why people didn’t like it, but I felt it worked really well and the twist at the end was pretty awesome. It’s very mental health related and that’s something you find out at the end which is really interesting. It just worked so damn well and McAvoy’s acting was fucking perfect.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I’m not going to lie. I haven;t been reading fuck all this month. I keep meaning to take Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy to work but I always forget. That and I feel like I hardly get any time to even read a decent amount. I have ordered some manga recently so I’m sure I’ll be reading that soon. ^_^

Favourite Song – Persona 5 OST – Behind The Mask (Instrumental).

I feel like I do nothing but talk about this game and erm why the fuck shouldn’t I? IT’S AMAZING! I am legit spending my day off tomorrow by playing this and doing housework. That is so sad. πŸ˜› ANYWAY! The soundtrack from this game is an actual God send for me and I’m fully addicted to it. I need to download it as I want it to listen to whilst on holiday. I’ve found in the past that it’s really good to listen to whilst doing blog work as it’s really interesting. If you love jazz music, you’ll love this album. There is also a version of the song with lyrics/singing but I prefer the instrumental version.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Magikarp Jump.

I so desperately wanted to talk about Persona 5 again, but I can’t possibly. I spoke about it last month. πŸ˜› BUT I have been loving this iPhone game! It’s an official Pokemon game and has been out about a month now. You basically train your Magikarp to jump as high as possible so that it can compete against other Magikarp! It’s kind of addicting and I often play it on my lunch break at work. I know a lot of people who have given it a go and got very bored of it, often deleting it. I love it though! What I find is the best thing about it? You don’t need to be on a wifi nextwork or 3G/4G to play it. WIN WIN!

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely weekend.

April Favourites ’17

Easter holidays are over, all the chocolate eggs have been sold or are still on sale in the shops, and Mini Eggs won’t be back until New Year… This is the saddest thing for me. I fucking love Mini Eggs! πŸ˜›

But we’re into May now and happy May Day! I’m off work for a change and I intend to spend the day doing sod all and chilling out with Dane. I might make us sausage and mash… Love it!

ANYWAY! With a new month of course comes my monthly posts, including my favourites. April was a funny month, but I discovered a lot of new items this month gone and luckily stuff I needed… Not just buying for the sake of it. πŸ˜›

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Shower Cream.

I’ve used this in the past and I’m pretty sure it has featured on my monthly favourites before. It being featured on here again just shows what an amazing product it is! I actually forgot how good it was until IΒ recently started using it again. It smells beautiful and leaves your skin not only smelling yummy but feeling lovely and soft too. For only a Β£1 you cannot go wrong!

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter.

It’s shit to admit but my lips are STILL bad. Well they appear to be on the mend now and better than before but still bad… Urgh. I finally got some decent answers from two doctors recently and was given the right treatments. Alongside using the treatment creams I’ve also been slathering on this Vaseline in between applications to keep my lips nice and moist… EwΒ I hate that word but it’s the only word I can use right now and it be accurate. This tub is for around the house, as I bought an aloe vera one for out on the go and for work. I don’t like that one as much as the cocoa butter though to be honest. I find the smell to be fresh, but that doesn’t apply when on the lips. I feel like the cocoa butter scent is lovely both in the jar and when applied to the lips. You can never go wrong with cocoa butter to be fair! I love this better than the original Vaseline though to be honest! πŸ˜€

  • Boots Essentials Cucumber Eye Gel.

I needed a new eye gel last month and wanted to make sure to get something that would cool my eyes whilst hydrating them throughout the day. I wouldn’t usually go for a low budget eye gel due to the whole, “It’s not going to do sod all…” but I thought for Β£1.50 it wouldn’t break the bank to give it a whirl! I hate eye creams and have always opted to buying gels if I can. This one is amazing and really does soothe and cool tired eyes either in the morning before work or after a long day in the evening. Either way I love this and I think I’ll end up buying another soon for mine and Dane’s holiday in September!

  • Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in shade Copper Mine.

When I was off work during April I decided to paint my nails as due to the job I do I’m not allowed to wear it whilst working. I have a couple of these Molten Metal polishes but this one is my favourite. I find the copper shade suits my yellow skin tone the best and it just looks gorgeous too. The formula is lovely and it lasts ages before chipping! Even whilst doing loads of work on the house last week it hardly chipped. This was without a top coat too! I’ll be reviewing these very soon as they deserve a review. I plan to get myself the new holographic shade that recently came out. These are on 2 for Β£7 at the moment so I’ll be getting that and another shade.

  • Radox Feel Heavenly Bath Soak with Coconut & Milk.

Finally we have a bubble bath on my monthly favourites. I still use my Lush products, don’t get me wrong but more often than not I find if I overuse them it actually causes more harm to my body than good. That and I try to make my money last at the moment. ANYWAY! This bath soak was bought on a whim that I wanted something nice and light to use on days off work and before bed. This is a gorgeous bubble bath where a little bit goes a long way, but I always add a generous amount to my bath to create LOADS of bubbles. I always find this leaves my skin lovely and soft after use. It’s amazing.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Sirens (UK version).

This is a show I recently started to re-watch. It was out YEARS ago… (looks on Wikipedia) Holy shit 2011 was when this show first aired. I feel old. Very old. ANYWAY! As the title may give away this show is about 3 paramedics and it shows what they get up to during their shifts. It also shows a couple of members of the Police and Fire Service too. This is fiction I’ll have you know and is actually a comedy. I love it so much though, it just makes me laugh. There are some serious notes in it however and with that it does remind me of Only Fools and Horses. One moment it can be side splitting funny and the next bringing a tear to your eye. If you’ve never watched it and you fancy giving it a go then I think you’re only options now are going to be watching it online for free, or as a shitty YouTube upload. I’m being naughty and watching it online for free… Hey! I’d buy it if I could!

Favourite Film – Your Name (Kimi no Na wa).

Last month me and Dane went to go and watch this after he found out it was showing in the Mockingbird cinema in Birmingham’s Custard Factory. He booked it that day and that evening we were off to watch it. Oh my God it wasn’t even what I was expecting it to be to be honest. I knew what the basic plot was for the film but it has a lot of twists and such throughout the film. I don’t want to talk too in depth as I worry it could spoil the film for anyone who hasn’t seen it. You can watch a trailer here if you like the sound of it. BUT to be honest if you haven’t heard about it by now, whether you’re an anime fan or not then where have you been hiding? It keeps being spoken about how it’s the best anime film for quite some time. πŸ˜›

Favourite Book – K-ON!

As regular readers of my blog will know I have been reading nothing but manga since the start of the year and whilst it is an expensive thing to keep on top of, it is so damn worth it! I recently purchased all of the K-ON manga to read and whilst I am only somewhat through the series, I am in love with it. It’s just great to see some of my new favourite anime characters come to life on the pages of the manga as well as through the anime series. I’ll be reviewing in the future!

Favourite Songs – George Michael “Freedom! 90” and “Careless Whisper”.

This is kind of random I suppose but a few nights ago I just started listening to songs from the 00’s… Which led to songs from the 90’s and for some reason that then led me to listen to some of George Michael’s best singles. Of course he died at the end of last year which was a real shame. He was a talented guy in every way! I have always had a place for “Freedom! 90” and I don’t know why… I especially love the music video as I think it’s so clever, alongside the song as a dig at the music industry. πŸ˜› Thanks to Deadpool now whenever I hear “Careless Whisper” I just think of Ryan Reynolds singing it at the end of the film. HA! πŸ˜› BUT instead of popping either of the songs mentioned above I thought I would attach Seether’s cover of “Careless Whisper”. It’s amazing in my eyes and they did a really good job!

Favourite game – TsumTsum.

This is a game I have owned for as long as I’ve had my iPhone 6 to be honest… I remember when I went on holiday with my dad in November 2015 playing it whenever we were near a WiFi connection! ANYWAY… This is a game I have been playing nonstop this month and it’s one I always forget that I love to play. It’s a game that you can actually pay to play in Japan as an actual arcade game. I would love to play it like that! I’ve attached a video above of Sharla playing it! It’s just a great, free and relaxing game to play. It’s one of those where you need to match up 3 plus of the same Disney character to get rid of them, get a high score, coins etc. With those coins you can buy new characters etc. If you love Disney and love the Tsum Tsum’s then you’ll love this!

So those were my favourites from April! I can’t believe how quickly the year is going by though to be perfectly honest. Next month me and Dane will have been in our house for a year and I don’t know if I like that or if it scares me a little. Time is going wayyyyy too fast and I don’t think I like that. It also means next month marks our four year anniversary which IS exciting and I don’t mind that. πŸ˜› It does feel like we’ve been together longer mind.

What products were you loving throughout April? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I hope you have a lovely bank holiday Monday. I know I will be. πŸ˜›

February Favourites ’17

I’m not going to lie not only am I glad to see the back of February due to how incredibly shit it was, but I also struggled with my February favourites post this year. I couldn’t think of many products when I was planning this post a week ago but luckily as I sat down to write it, can of cider in hand (oh God…) I’ve seemingly remembered some stuff I have indeed loved this month. YAY!

  • Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Shower Cream.

I LOVE this shower cream so much, so much so I have the bubble bath to go with it. I loved foamy banana sweets as a kid and I always remember my mom buying me some whenever we went into our local Woolworths… Oh good ol’ Woolworths eh? This shower cream smells just like them which makes me so happy! I just love the smell of bananas in general and sadly due to an allergy to them I can’t eat them. So things like this make me happier than they should. ANYWAY! Not only does this smell great but it leaves my skin feeling lovely and clean and smelling great. It also perks me up in the mornings if I need to be up at the crack of dawn for work. It’s a bargain at a Β£1 a bottle so if you fancy giving it a go you know you won’t break the bank buying one on a food shop.

  • Reece’s Lip Balm.

I don’t know why but throughout February my lips have been covered in cold sores and blisters and been so damn sore and uncomfortable! I haven’t been able to wear any lipstick which sucked to be honest. But even when using Blistex products nothing was getting rid of the cold sores. I eventually bought a cold sore cream from Boots which helped but THEN another nasty massive cold sore appeared. FUCK! I didn’t know what it could be but when I started using this lip balm during work the cold sores just seemed to heal quicker. So not only was I comfortable, but my lips smelt and tasted amazing too! It just makes me laugh.

  • Bath and Body Works Black Cherry Merlot PocketBac Hand Sanitizer.

This is on of the other Bath and Body Works items that my friend Sophi brought me back from America and it’s definitely my favourite item she brought me back! I have wanted to try this scent since it came out a couple of years ago but as of yet I haven’t been able to and oh my it has been worth the wait! It is such a warm and yummy smell, just like black cherries and reminds me of a black forest gateau. I’ll be sad when this runs out. I’m currently not going to pause writing this post to go look for more on eBay… Oh dear… πŸ˜›

  • Moisturising Foot Socks.

I only have one of these to show off at the moment but at one point I had at least five of these lying around to use. You can pick these up pretty cheap from Body Care for a Β£1 each and you can pick up all sorts of types. Argan oil, tea tree, coconut, etc. I bought my mom loads of these and decided to get some for myself too. You pop your feet into them for 15-20 minutes and when you take them out your feet will feel soft and smooth. I keep my feet in them for at least an hour to make sure they’re as soft as they can possibly be. As someone who is on their feet constantly due to work these are a lovely treat once a week after a hot bath.

  • Bath and Body Works Body Creams in Lavender & Honey and Cherry Blossom.

My friend Sophi went to America in November last year and she was lovely enough to bring me back some goodies from Bath and Body Works, including these body creams as well as a hand sanitizer I’m mentioning in this months favourites too. I’ve been using this as a hand cream instead of for my body and it finds it works really well and keeps my hands moisturised for a long time, although not as long as I would have hoped or wished. They both smell lovely, but my favourite of the two is the Lavender & Honey scent. It’s so refreshing yet comforting to smell. Can’t go wrong!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – The Last Leg

I know this show has been out for years but I only recently discovered it on YouTube through clips, the one added above caused me to cry with laughter. The show is just hilarious, witty and currently just rips the shit out of Donald Trump, which is always funny. πŸ˜› I just love it and if you haven’t watched it before definitely give it a go! I’ve only watched series 1 and I’m currently up to date with series 10. I need to try and find the other series to watch online!

Another Favourite TV Show – Sex and The City

Sadly I don’t have a favourite film for this month so I decided to talk about another favourite TV show. I mentioned in a post recently about how I was watching Sex and The City again and I’m about a handful of episodes away from finishing the show for God knows how many times now. I re-watch the show at least once a year and every time I do I’m reminded of how much I love all the characters but how pissed off I get at the all too… Apart from Sam. πŸ˜› Dane is watching it with me for the first time which has made me so happy! He’s actually really enjoyed it too which is nice. I’m going to put the films on for us at some point for us to watch.

Favourite Book – Your Lie in April

I know I mentioned this last month on my favourites but I would be lying if I said I was reading anything else other than this… Which I actually finished a few days ago. I haven’t been able to get enough of each volume and during my breaks at work I’ve read a whole book! I’m not even joking. So in a week I got 5 volumes read… Well I don’t know what to say about this manga other than I love it so damn much and it has fast turned into one of my favourite manga and anime series. I can’t really say much about it without ruining it but it’s a very sad story to be honest but with a positive ending which makes you think. I cried to be honest at the end. πŸ˜› I wish it could have lasted a little longer but I’m glad with the way it finished.

Favourite Song – Duke Dumont – Ocean Drive

I discovered this song at the start of the year through a beauty guru on Instagram. She said what the song was in the posts description so I went to search for it on YouTube and here we are. It’s been out for nearly two years now and only now have I heard it! WHAT!? I do tell everyone how I don’t listen to chart music… This is evidence of that! It’s a catchy song which is very chilled sounding and reminds me of something from the 80’s. I love it so much and it’s always something I listen to whilst getting ready to go out and even when doing blog related work. πŸ˜›

Favourite Game – Pokemon Moon

Β This game came out towards the end of 2016 and during February I actually picked it up and played it constantly! I hardly played it when it came out due to being busy with work, getting ready for Christmas and being an adult. πŸ˜› BUT when I had time in February I picked it up every day when I got the chance. I haven’t finished it yet and I haven’t picked it up for about a week now… But I will… I will…

So those were my favourites for February! It was a long but at the same time quick month and I am so pleased it is done and dusted. I won’t state why but it was shit… Really shit… Stuff still is shit but it’ll get better. Well I hope anyway. πŸ˜›

What were your favourite things throughout February? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and here’s to a new month… and hopefully some better weather. πŸ˜›

September ’16 Favourites

I read the other day that there are now only 12 Monday’s left until Christmas. DAYUM! September is now over and I am gutted. It’s my favourite month for various reasons so I am sad to say goodbye to it for another year.

Autumn is now upon us and I am super excited for darker days, chilly evenings and an excuse for drinking nothing but hot chocolate!

So before I talk about why I love autumn (we shall save that for another post!) I better get on with what my favourites were for the month.

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream

This is probably my favourite thing from this month as it is just a perfect bog standard shower cream. I picked this up on a food shop when it was on offer for a Β£1 in Morrisons and I regret not buying a couple of them now considering they’ve gone up to Β£2.20! Due to us finishing the product sadly the bottle has now gone, but I’ve inserted a picture above so you get an idea of what it looks like. It’s a thick shower cream and due to this it foams up lovely in a sponge and a little goes a long way. Like pretty much all Palmolive shower creams this leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, as well as smelling beautiful! This doesn’t smell like a horrible artificial chocolate scent, it smells creamy and yummy. They also came out with a vanilla and strawberry version. I can see us stocking up on this as soon as we see it at a decent price again.

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in shade Vamped Up

Over the past year I have really gotten into my darker shades and I feel like most shades I buy now are either dark red, pink or purple. Of course when I eyed up these new lip paints by Maybelline it was either the red or the purple shade, I obviously picked up the latter. My mom actually told me about these and they are amazing! So pigmented and last ages. I wear this with a lip liner for both work and social and I love it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it throughout autumn and winter this year.

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream

I remember buying this bath cream for Dane as he loves the shower cream. I’m always having Lush baths in the house and although he doesn’t like taking baths often I wanted to get him something nice that he can use whenever he does fancy having one. You know what? I’ve been using this bath cream more than he has! I even picked up a bottle when I recently stayed in Chichester for a week and used it a couple of times. It creates lovely fluffy bubbles and is strong enough in scent that you can smell it on you hours later. Sadly the shower cream isn’t as good as that. I picked this up for a Β£1 in both Boots and Sainsburys so it’s a complete bargain!

  • Forever Young By Jean Pierre Pore Control Green Tea Facial Mask

I picked these up recently from Homesense on a whim that they sounded good, were cheap and the fact I’m obsessed with sheet masks these days! I took one with me to Chichester and used one when I came back too. These aren’t as great as the Korean sheet masks but for the price they’re a really nice treat that you can have more often. I decided to get the pore control ones so that both myself and Dane could give them a go. I don’t have big pores, but I do like to keep them clear is possible. I also love anything with green tea which is nice. I used these after scrubbing my face so that all the goodness from the mask can get into my skin. When it’s been a little warmer the past month these have been really nice to use. I recommend them!

  • Paco Rabbane Lady Million EDP

I’ve owned this perfume for quite a long time since my mom gave it to me. It reminds me of fluffy towels and freshly washed bedding, which I find really comforting. I’ve been wearing it for work various times throughout the month and it’s been a really nice transitioning scent from summer to autumn. It’s nice and strong too and I always get compliments on it which is always good.

So those were my favourites from September! Nothing mind blowing, although there were a few newbies on here.

What were you loving throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!

June ’16 Favourites

Okay so my two monthly posts have been rather different this month, with my wish list being first out of the two. I usually talk about my favourites from the previous month first, before talking about what I am hoping to buy the month we go into. Blame the house, honestly. It’s all the houses fault!

But better late than never as they say, and I apologise now because my favourites were nothing exciting last month, once again due to the house. OH and I actually have one extra item on my list this month too!

 photo June Favs_zpsppvidnjl.jpg

  • Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 in Normal/Combination skin

I got this moisturiser free when me and my mom bought some goodies from an Estee Lauder counter, and I didn’t even think I would end up using this, but since my Clinique moisturiser running out at the end of May (and me being too poor to buy anymore…) I decided to give this a go. I do really like it, but at the same time I do have my personal issues with it. The thing I love is how moisturising it is, and a little goes a long way too! The thing I don’t like about it is that it is a cream, which my skin doesn’t usually like. My skin often breaks out with thick moisturisers, which I worried would happen with this, but alas my skin hasn’t had any issues! The problem is due to how warm and clammy the UK has been the past month (as well raining!) it never felt like it was sinking into my skin, and due to that would cause me to sweat. It’s a good moisturiser though, and has done me good over the past month! It’ll especially be great for winter time.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo

This is an old favourite for me when it comes to shampoo and one I decided to pick up again a while ago as I was after a shampoo that didn’t contain sulfates. This only costs Β£10 from Boots, which I thought was a complete bargain for Liz Earle! This shampoo smells floral, and you don’t need a lot to get a good lather going. It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. I tried this on Dane’s hair just to see how it would make it feel, and he even said himself how lovely an soft his hair felt. Result! πŸ˜›

  • Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte Natural Finish Pressed Powder in shade Peche

I’ve owned this for over a month now and I love it! I don’t use it as much as I do my Laura Geller powder, as I just use this for days off work, or special days. BUT it is truly amazing and one of my favourite beauty pieces to use. Although it is a peach shade this doesn’t actually show up when applied to the skin, which is good. It makes my skin look matt for quite a long time, and I don’t feel the need to reapply during my 8 hour shift at work, which is the true test of a good face powder for me.

  • Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye

This is another freebie I got in my Estee Lauder goody bag and is something I have been using on warm mornings, and muggy days. It’s a cooling gel that is meant to be used at night, but I use it in the mornings before I go to work. I haven’t noticed a dramatic change in my eyes, but it really does help them feel cooled on hot days, and mornings when my eyes are still aching, and tired.

  • Imperial Leather Shower Gel in Foamy Banana

This was a recent discovery towards the end of June and it is my favourite out of the bunch this month! I couldn’t wait to talk about it next month, so this is why there is an extra product being spoken about this month. It smells just like the foam banana sweeties that you would get as a kid, which I love. I can’t eat bananas due to my allergy, but I can get my banana fix with this shower gel! I bought a couple of bottles of these so that I know I have a bottle ready in the cupboard to use when my current one runs out.

  • Lancome Juicy Shakers in shade Mint To Be.

My mom bought me another one of these when she went on holiday in May and I KNOW I wrote a somewhat bad review about the Juicy Shaker’s, but I do still like them! They just aren’t anything special like they’ve been made out to be. They are literally just pigmented lip balms with a bit of gloss. I love this one though, and when I’ve fancied something a bit more than a balm, but not a lipstick, this has come in handy! These aren’t sticky, and they feel really light on the lips when worn, which is something I like about it. It’s just been great during working on the house, as well as when I traveled to London. I might review this soon, but in the meantime you can read the review for the other one here.

So that is my June favourites! May be late, but at least they’re done now. πŸ˜›

What products did you enjoy using in June? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re all having a great week.

April Favourites 2015

I can’t believe it’s May and we’re almost halfway through the year. This being said, I want September to hurry up and be here!

Either way, this month was a tough one to think of my favourites because honestly, I haven’t paid much attention. After much thought though, I realised that I had used certain products this month. So here they are!

  • The Body Shop Lip Butter in Coconut.

I received this lip balm for free after my holiday and I’ve owned it in the past. It’s been my bedside table essential and something I’ve been using around the house. The formula is very creamy and thick so a little bit goes a long way and it keeps my lips lovely and soft. I’ve used this on my knuckles a little too, as my eczema has been really bad lately. It’s helped a little bit. I’ve always loved the coconut range from The Body Shop.

  • Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDP.

This was originally my mom’s, but she recently gave me a couple of her perfumes as she wasn’t using them, and knew if I had them in my room she would be inclined to give them a spray… I therefore also discovered that my mom has been stealing sprays of my perfume. πŸ˜› I don’t mind of course! Anyway! I’ve been lusting after this perfume for years, since it came out to be exact. I already own Bon Bon by them and I love it! You can never go wrong with Viktor & Rolf. They have unique scents and they’re strong too. They of course have an EDT version of this, as well as a stronger EDP intense version! So even if the EDP isn’t enough for you, you still have some sort of option.

  • Imperial Leather Shower Cream in Stimulating Spearmint.

These are new out and I tell you, they’re delicious! Imperial Leather have brought out some sweet shop inspired shower gels and alongside this one, I also picked up Comforting Marshmallow. I haven’t used this one yet however. I love minty shower gels. They wake me up in the mornings, smell gorgeous, and leave a little tingle on the skin after you’ve rinsed off. This one doesn’t tingle as much as some previous ones I’ve tried but it sure wakes me up early in the morning! I’ve been using this loads and it’s my current go to shower gel. It’s so creamy and good to use! I can’t wait to try the Marshmallow one soon. I recommend you give these a go, they come in various scents (Mouthwatering Fruit Salad, and Uplifting Sherbert) but my boyfriend and I found these two smelt the best. My skin has benefited too as it looks and feels really nice and soft after use.

  • Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender.

I’ve owned this since Christmas as it was a present my mom got for me and I really do like it! I’ve been using it more so during the warmer days as I find it works for longer than my MAC or Tarte face powders. I’ve hit pan on this now! I can see me getting another one when this runs out. It’s not something I find I need to top up either as it lasts ages as well. I loved this when I was on holiday too in the evenings and work beautifully. I can’t wait for summer and hotter days to come along so I can test this out more.

  • Cute Or What Body Butter.

This was bought for me nearly two years ago as part of a Christmas present and only recently have I started to use it. I use it to moisturise my hands as it’s a thick body butter and works well to keep them happy. As I mentioned above my eczema is pretty bad at the moment. This stuff doesn’t just work well though, it also smells gorgeous! It smells like pomegranate and mango which just reminds me of summer. I have used this on dry patches of my legs too which has helped them. I wish I could re-purchase this, but sadly it isn’t available to buy.

So that was my wish list! It wasn’t anything special, but I’ve been so busy this month that I haven’t really had time to use anything special.

What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments?

Until next time take care all and I hope May is a good month for everyone!

May Empties

DSC_0006

DSC_0007

I know I said last month that I would try and get back on schedule with my empties blog posts and indeed I am keeping to my word, but to be honest even if I didn’t want to do one this month to try and gather more empties for next month, I am making myself as my purple empties bag is too full!

I used up a lot of products during May and quite frankly I’m really quite pleased!DSC_0008

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner.

This toner was lovely and although it caused me some issues after using it for a while it settled down once again on my skin and I was able to use it once more without any irritation. This was lovely and cooling on warm days and I would love to own this again during the hot summer months, however I want to give all the other face care ranges a go from The Body Shop.

  • Soap & Glory Scrub Of Your Life Body Scrub.

When I first got my hands on this in December I loved it! However as the months went on I grew to really dislike it and after a while I counted down the uses until it was finally finished with and out of my shower. For me this was more of a shower gel with little exfoliating particles inside of it, not a body scrub. I’ve come across better body scrubs than this one and the only positive is that it bubbles up like a shower gel. This being said what put me off the most is how strong scented it was of the pink Soap & Glory scent, which I have grown to dislike due to this scrub. I won’t be buying this again, however this hasn’t put me off trying any other of Soap & Glory’s body scrubs.

  • Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Bath Cream.

This bath cream was a real treat to use and was something I found myself reaching for every other bath I had after a long day at work. The scent of it was a lovely coconut type scent which left me feeling clean and fresh, as well as smelling gorgeous and ready for bed. I would definitely buy this again, you can’t go wrong with Imperial Leather, especially when it comes to their bath and shower products.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Choca Mocha Lala Shower Cream.

I bought this shower cream as a spur of the moment purchase when I was in Home Bargains with my boyfriend about a month ago and since then we both used it all up. I really do wish I’d bought a couple of these as they were only 79p a bottle and were gorgeous! It smelt of chocolate and reminded me of The Body Shop’s chocolate shower cream, but better! This smelt more like chocolate than The Body Shop’s version and was a hell of a lot cheaper too! I took this with me to the Lake District for me and my boyfriend to use and when we got home we used the last bit up. I really do miss this shower cream so I think I’ll be looking for it to pick up again. I really love I Love… Cosmetics products!

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

DSC_0009

  • Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Sensitive.

I can’t believe that I used up two of these in a row! It shows how busy I’ve been to use up so much deodorant as you don’t really need a lot of this product as it goes a long way. If you want to read a more in depth review of this, you can check that out here.

  • Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm.

I’m actually really sad to see this all finished as I really love it! I do have another tiny pot that I’m yet to start but I’m probably going to save it until I’ve used up some of my other cleansers first, as you do. This balm is gorgeous though! I thought I wasn’t going to like it when I first tried it as it looked really greasy but when you mix the balm with water it goes into a lovely creamy cleanser, but it doesn’t foam up. These can be good if you suffer from dry skin, but as my skin is quite greasy as it is I do wonder if it set it off to break out at times, as since not using this due to it running out, I haven’t broken out nearly half as much! It also smells really refreshing which you can’t go wrong with, especially in the mornings and during the warm summer days too. I would repurchase this, it’s a gorgeous balm!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks in Very Berry and Lemon Sherbert.

Now I don’t know if I’m not allergic to Montagne Jeunesse’s face masks, or if I was having a bad day on the days I used these masks, but my skin has never burnt so much in my life! I’ve used Very Berry on many occasions and it’s a lovely mask to use for hydration and moisturisation but when I applied this to my skin my face felt on fire so I only left it on for a couple of minutes until I couldn’t stand it anymore and washed it off. If you thought that sounded bad, Lemon Sherbert was WORSE! I applied it to the skin and my face was on fire straight away and I was screaming in pain as I tried my best to wash it off and ease the pain. My face was red raw afterwards and I felt really quite saddened about the whole thing as I love lemon and was really looking forward to giving the mask a go. I’m sure it’s just my sensitive skin reacting to the masks and it’s not the masks themselves.

So those were my empties for May! Not as many as I thought there were (unless there were loads and I didn’t realise it) but either way I did use up a lot of products in May which I’m really pleased about. Means more room to try more things!

What did you use up during May? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well so far.
