2019 Pokemon Collection Holiday Night Ichiban Kuji – YY Kawaii

I’m so excited to write this post today because I just want to show you guys how damn cute this collection is and was and why I’m so happy to have my hands on it!

I’ve wanted to take part in an ichiban kuji from Japan for the longest time, but I’ve always been so anxious to in case I paid loads for items and won the most basic of things. However, the Holiday Night collection from Pokemon was too damn cute to pass up and I have ZERO REGRETS!

I’ll not only be showing off items I bought/won but I’ll also be talking about what ichiban kujis are, how they work and even which ones YY Kawaii is selling at the moment, so if you fancy giving one a go yourself, you can!

I hope you enjoy this post today, I thought I would do something kawaii and cute, as I feel like I haven’t done that for ages. πŸ™‚

I mean for a start, look how damn cute the promotional image is for the kuji!

First of all an ichiban kuji is a Japanese lottery that to the British can be related to a tombola you would get at a fΓͺte in the summertime. You win a prize every time but the prize depends on which letter you get on the ticket! All prizes have a letter assigned to them with A, B, C and D being the rarer and harder to get prizes and letters E, F and G being easier to obtain. Most kujis will also come with a “last one” prize, which you can win if you get the “last one” ticket. These are extremely rare!

I thought I would pop YY Kawaii’s video above as she explains in full what ichiban kujis are in more detail than I do and considering that’s who I purchased my kuji from, why not! πŸ˜€ Go and give her some love and make sure to mention me. ^_^

So when YY Kawaii advertised that she would be selling this kuji, I KNEW I had to take part! Tickets were priced at Β£11 each or 2 for Β£20.50. I loved everything the kuji had on offer so what did I have to lose?

I’ll link here what the kuji had on offer, as I don’t want to use the promotional photos if I can help it! When viewing the prizes though I had a few things in mind that I wanted to win, including the B prize which is a vanity case and prize D which is the travel set. I loved the other prizes too, but those stood out to me the most.

The prizes overall included three plushies (including the last one), vanity case, travel set, illustrated towels, zipper bags and plastic containers.

I bought two tickets and won two amazing prizes, BUT I also purchased one of the items that YY Kawaii had for sale.

I remember watching the live Instagram video of YY Kawaii revealing who had won what and I couldn’t believe it when I heard I had won the A prize, which is a Pikachu plushie, as well an illustrated towel!

I couldn’t believe it and was so excited when my goodies arrived in the post a few days later.

The Pikachu plushie is quite big to be honest and very sturdy, yet squish-able for cuddles. I’ve been cuddling this whilst sat at my gaming table as I write this post which is super comfortable. If it was acceptable I would totally take this to work to rest against whilst doing work.

This has been sitting on our bed as I honestly don’t know where else to keep it right now! I might just keep it for downstairs to cuddle against whenever I’m playing games or doing blog work. I especially love the pastel colours as it’s really relaxed and nothing too “obnoxious”, especially for the bedroom.

The second item I won was an illustrated towel, which is one of the more popular items you can win. I’m happy with winning this (even though I know many get disappointed with these sort of wins) as I love using the towels as face cloths/flannels. I wish I could have bagged the purple design, as it has a super cute sleeping Dragonite design on. If I can buy this design in the future, I will!

Then I mentioned I picked up one of the items from YY Kawaii, as I didn’t win it. This is the travel set. I KNEW I needed this in my life and I especially wanted it for my holiday to Japan, as well as for travelling anywhere to be fair.

It comes in a really cute box (which I don’t want to throw away!) and is a clear purple bag with images from the promotional photos on. You can see where the Pokemon are having a sleepover with the sat around on a rug reading books, sleeping, cuddling cushions and more. It also comes with three travel bottles with the 1st gen starter Pokemon on them. These are a very generous size too so my 2 weeks of supply of goods I would need to take with me would last for ages in these.

So that’s all the goodies I won and bought from the Pokemon Collection Holiday Night kuji through YY Kawaii!

Do I have any regrets with getting this kuji? If anything, I regret not buying more tickets. πŸ˜› I also wish I could get the vanity case cheaper than it’s selling for right now, as this would be perfect to house stuff in for travelling, as well as in general. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for it in the future.

If you like the sound of ichiban kujis and want to have a go yourself, then please make sure to go and check out YY Kawaii’s Instagram pages YY Kawaii and YY Kawaii Merch to see what she has on offer and if you don’t see a kuji you’re interested in BUT are aware of, you can always drop her a message to enquire about it. Make sure to let her know I sent you! πŸ˜€

YY Kawaii also has some of the prizes for sale from this kuji, so make sure to go and check out her Instagram pages for those too! Again, make sure to let her know I sent you! πŸ˜€

Have you ever divulged into ichiban kujis from Japan? If so which one(s) have you taken part in? If you’ve never had a go yourself, do you think you’ll try your luck at a kuji? Make sure to let me know in the comments below!

OH P.S. I took all the photos in this post on my new camera! What do you guys think? I know they aren’t the best, but I’m still getting used to it. πŸ˜›

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. πŸ™‚

Japan Series – We’re Going To Japan!

Excited Cute Girl GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

This is a series I have spoken about starting for about a month now and finally I’m starting it! This series is one I didn’t know if I would ever write about, due to the fact some dreams just don’t seem like a reality.

However, me and Dane suddenly decided that enough was enough. Before we knew it we were approaching 6 months into 2019 and we hadn’t even come close to booking out dream holiday to Japan. No matter what we had decided we wanted to go in 2020 and that was that.

Before I go into any details leading up to booking our holiday, I want to talk a little bit about this new series on my blog and what you as the reader will come to expect from it each month.

Yes, it will be a monthly series and from what I can tell, it’s also going to be indefinite! This isn’t the first Japan series I’ve written on my blog, back in 2014 I decided to do a 4 part series about Japan, why I wanted to go as well as things to do with Japan that made the series what it was. I’ll link all 4 posts below so you can go and check them out. I know I gave them a read through whilst writing this post.

Japanese Series: Manga

Japanese Series: Asian Food

Japanese Series: Places To VisitΒ (including Dane’s!)

Japanese Series: Studio Ghibli

Not going to lie, I gave the manga post a read and it made me laugh at my younger self.

“As you can see from the above image, I own quite a lot of manga books so far, eight in total, seven from one manga series and one from another.”

Over 5 years have passed since I wrote that post in February 2014 and I own so much fucking more than that now. The seven books I own from one series is Nana – which I have already doubled on by now owning all 21 volumes. I could list all of the manga I now own but I would be here for ages and that’s for another post in the future.

I didn’t read the other three posts in detail but from skimming, not a whole lot has changed in terms of where both me and Dane would love to visit in Japan.

We’ve had dreams of going to Japan for a holiday in mind for all that time and now we are finally making it a reality. I still can’t believe it to be honest with you… It still hasn’t truly sunk in and I don’t think it will until I’m packing my bag for the holiday and getting on the plane for the 11-12 hour flight… That I am dreading.

Sad K On GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

As excited as I am for my trip to one of the places I have dreamed of going for over 10 years, I am shit scared for the flight there and back from Japan. I hate flying at the best of times and that’s just with a 4 hour flight. I’m sure and know I’ll be okay, but nonetheless, I’m still really anxious.

I feel like I’ve rambled loads so far on this post and I do apologise for that… I just want to try and get as much into this post as I can! πŸ˜€

As this is the first post of many in this new Japan series, I want to basically lay it down what the future is going to be like for these posts.

I want to talk about what research me and Dane did before booking our holiday, including booking flights and hotel, as well as how we saved the monies and paid for the holiday. I’ll also be showing off loads of blogs and YouTubers who helped along the way without realising it.

Then I want to talk in posts about which places me and Dane are planning to go to, as well as book which will be for food mostly, as well as fun days out.

I just have so much stuff I want to talk about on this series and I am really excited for it!

I hope you guys are just as excited for this series as I am to write it for you all, as well as me.

What are you excited to read in these Japan series posts? Are you happy with seeing them once a month? Or would you like to see them twice a month instead? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope I haven’t bored you too much with this post. πŸ˜›

YY Kawaii – Boats and Capes for your Nendoroid figures*

This is officially my first post where I’m collaborating with YY Kawaii and let me tell you, I’m so damn excited to talk about the goodies she sent me to talk about on my blog. Especially considering they’re Nendoroid related!

I mentioned last month on a blog post how I had become a brand affiliate for YY Kawaii, who are one of my favourite shops to buy all my kawaii and Japanese goodies from.

Image result for yy kawaii decoden phone case

One of YY Kawaii’s many designs. This Yuri On Ice design is adorable!

I remember back in the day when I first discovered YY Kawaii how they used to be a decoden phone case store – where you could approach them to create customised decoden cases and I even bought one myself at one point.

Then when YY Kawaii started to branch into buying and selling goods from Japan I grew even more invested into her store and merchandise page on Instagram. I remember years ago being the person everyone approached whenever they wanted to know a store to buy Pokemon Centre goods from because I was always the person who had them. I always referred them to YY Kawaii without a second thought.

Decoden cases is something that YY Kawaii has now distanced themselves from and have since moved into more of buying and selling kawaii merchandise from Japan, and as a buyer I have always noticed they do the fairest prices around.

Both Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green from YY Kawaii

This includes Nendoroid’s too and is one of my favourite places to go and shop for them because not only do they do them at amazing prices, but they’re able to get so many specials in stock that you can’t get anywhere else in the UK. They also try and pick up discontinued Nendoroid’s too! I recently and finally managed to grab the Pokemon Red Nendoroid, which I have been after for years.

When YY Kawaii suggested for my first post on my blog be Nendoroid related, I jumped at the chance to do it! She sent me some cute little plushie boats and a cape that I can dress my Nendoroid figures in, so kawaii!

Anything that can make any of my Nendoroid figures look cuter in my cabinets is always something I’m happy to do.

Let’s put it this way, YY Kawaii is here to help your Nendoroid figures travel in style, if you know what I mean? πŸ˜‰

Okay poor (sort of) puns away, lets get the Nendoroid figures I decided to dress up ready!

The items marked with * were gifted for reviewing purposes, so all views here are my own.

I decided to have a play with two of my favourite Nendoroid’s from two of my favourite gaming series. Isabelle from Animal Crossing and Futaba from Persona 5.

Overall YY Kawaii sent me three items to share with my readers today, which I’ll talk about in detail, as well as show how they look on Nendoroid figures too.

The first item I noticed out of the three was the White Cat Easter Cape* which I decided to show off on my Isabelle Nendoroid. These cost Β£5.50 each.

This cape is so adorable and definitely shouts Easter vibes, but not TOO heavily.

There are four designs to choose from including the White Cat, White Bunny, Blue Cat and Pink Bunny. They’re all as cute as each other and whilst I don’t associate cats with Easter, it’s still cute all the same.

The cape is really easy to fasten up around your Nendoroid figure(s) with a tiny bit of Velcro that easily sticks together and pulls apart.

The colour scheme of the White Cat cape is blue, yellow and white mostly – which I really liked. There are cute little cat ears, as well as a tail and one ear has a cute bunny hat design on it. Even if this didn’t shout Easter to you, the bunny bonnet definitely should!

When I popped this onto Isabelle I decided to remove her hair so that she could wear the hood. I know she’s not real but she looked SO snuggly in the cape and it reminded me of winter months whenΒ IΒ like to snuggle up warm. It was adorable to see.

I decided to see what it would be like to pop her hair back in place and have the hood down on the cape. It looked just as cute, purely for the fact it’s Isabelle with her little bells hanging from her hair, as well as the little bell hanging from the cape. KAWAII!

I couldn’t have picked a better Nendoroid to show the cape off on, it’s so cute! I may even have to use the pictures I took for a wallpaper on my laptop/gaming PC in the future.

The other two items that I was sent are both the Nendoroid White Bunny Boat* and Nendoroid Green Bunny Boat* which are so damn cute! I had loads of fun using my Futaba Nendoroid in these. These cost Β£5.50 each.

Overall there are five colours you can choose from, white and green, black and pink, light pink and dark pink, light green and dark green and light blue and dark blue.

The little boats are so cute with the little bunny ears at the front and the tiny tail at the back. The colour schemes for these are really nice too. They’re a really soft material too, so if you’re a collector who would like to pick these up for your Nendoroid collection (as well as any other figures) then you wouldn’t need to worry about them damaging your figures at all! They’re very gentle and won’t be abrasive.

The sides have little circles on – which I actually think are wheels, making this a car instead of a boat. Either way it’s a cute form of transportation for your sitting Nendoroid figures.

I think the thing I love the most with the boats is the amount of detail put into the actual boat itself. As you’ll see from the above photos there isn’t only a little steering wheel inside but two foot pedals! I love how detailed these are for how small they are.

Prepare for plenty of cute… Futaba sitting down was the perfect Nendoroid for these boat photos! Morgana even got a few shots… πŸ˜‰

I love how the photos came out, especially the second one where Morgana is in focus! The only difficulty I had with the green and white boat when taking the photos was the ears folding back and hence hitting Futaba in the face. I’m sure overtime the ears will soften up and become more pliable. The light and dark green boat was definitely easier to work with and hence out of all the photos, the photos of the green boat were by far my favourite!

Overall I REALLY love the cape and boats that YY Kawaii sent me! They’re perfect for people who love to take photos of their Nendoroid’s and other figures in realistic situations. The boats would be perfect placed on prop river with a couple of figures “floating” on top. The capes would also look great in a winter setting.

There’s so many possibilities for these and they won’t break the bank to buy either at Β£5.50 each! Especially considering I have a special discount code for my readers where you can get two for Β£8.00 instead of Β£11.00. All you have to do is use the code “YYNATALEE” when you checkout via the website. This quote won’t work on the Instagram page(s).

Also if you’re a massive Persona 5 fan like I am – YY Kawaii sells Nendoroid’s as I mentioned, so if you go to pre-order any Persona 5 Nendoroid figure(s) you pre-order if you mention “There Might Be Coffee” you’ll bag yourself an awesome Persona 5 gift! πŸ˜€

UK Games Expo 2019 – Haul

I am very much skint after the UK Games Expo that was on a couple of weekends ago and I don’t know if I want to laugh or cry… So instead I thought I would write a blog post about it! πŸ˜›

This was the first time me and Dane went to the UK Games Expo and we loved it so much! Not going to lie, it’s definitely the busiest con we’ve attended to date and definitely one we’ll talk about for a while for various different reasons. I’ll be mentioning them here too of course.

So come and have a nose at what we bought, as well as read about what we thought of the convention. πŸ™‚

Our initial thoughts on the convention was that it wouldn’t be as big as it actually was for a start and as we walked through the entrance and looked around, we were shocked and a think a tad nervous that we wouldn’t get around everywhere. Spoiler, we did! πŸ˜›

Something we noticed quite heavily as we walked around was just how fucking rude people attending were. If they weren’t shoving past to get to stands and stalls, they were not even using, “please” or “thank you” as and when necessary. It pissed me off something rotten and depending how rude people were, depended how rude I was back. This put me off immensely but this isn’t due to the people hosting the convention.

This being said we will definitely be attending again next year, maybe on the Friday as we heard from quite a few people how this day is the best out of the three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) as well as maybe Saturday so we can get two days in.

We wanted to play some games whilst we were there but due to how much is going on at the convention – we were far too tired for it, which was such a shame as there were loads of games we wanted to have a go at.

As this post shows from the photo, we bought a LOT of stuff, so I thought I would write a haul today so I could show you everything we picked up. I hope you enjoy this haul from us. Prepare for lots of geeky items! πŸ˜›

Also, as some of these (well maybe half actually!) items are Dane’s too, I’ll get him to write here when it comes to anything of his and why he decided to buy it! I’ll pop a “D:” when it comes to his sections so you know he’s talking instead of me. πŸ™‚

The first thing we bought were D&D dice. Hey, you don’t go to a board game convention without buying some dice, am I right?! This was the first stand we really looked at properly as it wasn’t stupidly busy. They had the Chessex dice there and I had a specific pair and style in mind. These weren’t there, but the Borealis style I was after were! They had a couple of pairs (a pink and lighter blue pair) but I fell in love with these light green set and decided to pick them up!

Dane also bought himself a pair of dice too and opted for these blue and red ones. They’re so damn pretty and he doesn’t have anything like this so it’ll be cool for both him and me to try our new dice out at our D&D session on Sunday.

D: When we were walking around the convention the one stand that really caught my attention was the one for Barpig, a card game about pig adventurers in a bar. Even before I spoke to the people running the stand I was pretty much sold on buying the game anyway. They had a pretty good offer that both myself and my friend couldn’t resist after talking to the people running the stand, as well as being given a quick demo. I was sold and couldn’t walk away without buying the game. The day after the convention me and Nat played this game together only to discover it’s between 3-7 players, which is a shame as we were looking forward to an evening of playing it. This being said, we’re now especially excited to play it with friends!

For the convention they had a special price and goody bag for this game. For Β£19 you got everything in the photo including the game itself! This is what I was sold on the most and didn’t hesitate to pick it up.

They currently have the expansion pack BARPIG: After Hours up on Kickstarter until Monday 1st July. I’ll link it here so you can go and check it if you like the sound of the game.

These were some of my favourite items I picked up from the convention, just because they’re Japanese goodies and from some of my favourite things. I stumbled upon this stand about halfway through the day and spotted some Nendoroid figures, so knew I had to go for a nose. When I spotted two official Studio Ghibli puzzles on the table I KNEW Dane had to come and have a look around the stall too! I quickly snapped up the puzzle from the table and shouted for Dane to come over. As soon as he saw the puzzle he told me to get it, but not before I had a nose around the rest of the stall. It was amazing to be honest with you and was by far my favourite at the convention as they just sold so much stuff I love. I saw they had the Pokemon Centre Eeveelutions bell charms for sale too as a decent price so I decided to pick one up. I ideally want this for an ita bag I plan to put together sooner rather than later. It’s so cute, the perfect bag companion.

I honestly cannot wait for me and Dane to work on the My Neighbour Totoro puzzle together and hang up! I’m feeling like it can go up in our bedroom by my side of the bed. πŸ™‚

Just when we thought we weren’t going to actually pick up more than one game, we found a stall where we fell in love with all the games on sale! We decided to pick up half of them and since then have played the one. The games are both by Jason Anarchy, who was a lovely guy to talk to as we looked through the games, asked questions in regards to them and even had a joke as we were paying and such.

I spotted Pretending To Grownup, a card game about doing adult things and scoring points through it. I spotted it through the artwork, which is by Megan McKay (Doodle For Food). She’s currently one of my favourite doodlers on the internet right now and I especially love her Dogs with Jobs sketches that she draws! Me and Dane have since played this game and it’s so much fun! It would definitely be more fun with friends to be honest with you, but considering just me and Dane played it, it was fab and I honestly can’t wait to play it more!

D: I was after a good party game, so as Nat had a look through the game she wanted I asked Jason what Drinking Quest was all about. He told me it was pretty much Dungeons & Dragons but with lots of drinking involved. This sounded like my sort of game so I knew I had to pick it up. I think I would have regretted it if I didn’t. Whilst I was paying for the games (it was Β£20 each or two for Β£35!) Jason wrote a little message and signed the lid of the game. As you can see he wrote, “It’s dangerous to go alone… Drink this” and drew a little drink as well as signed his name. Very cool! πŸ˜€

D: If there is one board game I really love it is definitely Zombies!!! I can’t remember where I bought this from but Nat has a feeling it was a spontaneous buy from Waterstones years ago. Since then I’ve wanted to buy the expansion packs and have added them to birthday, Christmas and anniversary gift ideas for years. It’s taken me going to the UK Games Expo to finally get at least 2 of them and from the actual creator of the game. He was lovely to chat to and even did us a cheap deal for these. Instead of Β£12 each he did them both for Β£20, bargain eh?! I regret not buying more in all fairness. Me and Nat played this game on our first evening together during our week off and we both forgot how hard this game can be, especially now we have more pieces and zombies to play with! We love this game however and cannot wait to play it with more people.

If there was a stand I really did enjoy shopping at during the convention it was at Oathsworn. I feel like this was the stand I spent the most time at as I was overwhelmed by how many miniatures there were, as well as how cute the little animals were. Everyone was looking at miniatures throughout the day, even though me and Dane struggled to find out D&D characters from one of our campaigns (I’m a Dragonborn bard and he’s a half goliath, half half-elf ranger) and had zero luck.

Instead I decided to pick up an animal miniature for any future campaigns me and Dane might go into or do in the future. NOW we’re working on some new characters for another campaign we’re doing with friends and my character for this will be a fennec fox rogue. I’m so excited to create my character for it already!

One of the stands I was rather excited to by from was TeeTurtle, a brand I’ve wanted t-shirts from for years! I actually have one t-shirt from them which is a Pokemon themed one with a Charmander sat in the a pocket on the chest. I picked this up on eBay years ago and still love it to this day.

We decided to take TeeTurtle up on their buy three t-shirts for Β£75 and get the fourth free. If you work this out you technically get all four t-shirts for less than Β£20 each. This may seem really expensive but TeeTurtle are an American brand and to ship to the UK costs a bomb! So we made sure to stock up at the convention whilst we had the chance. TeeTurtle were at the EGX convention in Birmingham September 2018 and I regret not grabbing any t-shirts there.

We decided to get two each and I regret not picking any t-shirts up earlier in the day. We picked these up a couple of hours before the convention was due to shut and the quantity of all sizes was very much small. Most of the sizes that me and Dane wanted had gone, which was such a shame. But this being said, we managed to grab some sizes in designs we wanted. The two on the left are Dane’s t-shirts and the two on the right are mine… Obviously the foxes are mine! πŸ˜›

Dane was actually going to buy me the Foxy Nerd design last year for Christmas but due to the prices for shipping etc he left it in the end.

The two designs on the bottom are both t-shirts we intend to wear during D&D session and we can’t wait to rock them this weekend! Honestly we could have bought so many t-shirts but due to most sizes being out of stock we didn’t get much choice of what we could buy. I hope to see them at another convention in the future so I can get the chance to pick up more designs.

This is a geeky beauty company that I am so happy to have discovered at the convention. Geeky Clean is a beauty company that sell bath bombs, soaps, bubble bars and more! I walked past the stand during the convention but didn’t think much at first. Dane went for a nose at a stand opposite so I decided to go and have a sniff of the goods at Geeky Clean. I fell in love with the bard scent, which is EXACTLY the same scent as Lush Snow Fairy. It’s a gorgeous bubblegum vanilla scent and I knew I had to pick some goods up with the scent. When I showed the soap to Dane he also really liked, so I made sure to pick it up. These weren’t expensive in my opinion (Β£4.00 or the soap and Β£4.50 for the bath bomb) and I’ll definitely be buying from the store again the future! When I’ve given these a go I will DEFINITELY be reviewing them on my blog.

D: We’ve been eyeing up plenty of miniatures and need a way of painting them. These brushes are pretty fancy and excellent quality feeling. I was going to go for the more expensive ones but as it’s going to be our first time painting miniatures I thought best not to just yet. Just need some paint now! I’m actually rather excited to help Nat bring her fennec fox miniature to life with some colour.

D: I want to start being the Dungeon Master with a couple of our friends that are new to Dungeons and Dragons and been looking to try and find a nice easy way to lay out the map for everyone. I have seen plenty of grid paper, laminated maps, DIY solutions and expensive pre-made maps but these seem like a good option. Hopefully, our group will be able to try them out soon! They cost me Β£30 and are by a company called Role 4 Initiative. I didn’t think Β£30 was a bad price considering the brand is American and it would have cost me a hell of a lot more to import from there.

This is the final item I picked up on the Saturday and it was actually from Collectormania which we were allowed free access to after 1pm due to attended UK Games Expo. I thought this was pretty awesome! Looking back I don’t fully know why I bought these lanyards… I used to use one on my house keys last year so it was easier to get them out of my handbag but after I was made a key holder in my old job I used said lanyard on my work key, only to have someone break it a few days later. I was gutted as it was a Deadpool lanyard. Now I’ve kind of replaced it with either a My Neighbour Totoro or Eeveelutions! I’m sure I’ll find a use for these sooner rather than later. πŸ™‚

We actually went back for an hour on the Sunday just to buy a gaming table from Moby Geek! We actually saw this table on the Saturday and enquired about it and was offered it for Β£230 if we took it away that weekend. We decided against it and said we would order it at home. We fast changed our minds Saturday night/Sunday morning and ended up contacting the company to see if we could attend the event late Sunday to just come in to pay for the table and then take it away. They were more than happy with this and come 4pm I went into the event to pay, get Dane in and take away.

Since then we have not only used the table to play games, but to also eat on! The lid comes off of the table so that you can play games inside of the table – which is amazing. We are yet to give it a go without the lid but we are excited to start being able to have proper game nights with people.

So that was our (very expensive!) haul from the UK Games Expo! We really did enjoy ourselves and had a blast! We were shattered that evening however and couldn’t wait to be back at home and tucked up in bed.

I’m especially excited now to rock our D&D t-shirts to our next session, as well as use our new dice.

Did you attend the UK Games Expo? If so what did you pick up? Are you interested in board games, D&D etc? If so let me know which games you love playing, what your D&D character is like etc in the comments. I’d love to hear all about it!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week so far. πŸ™‚

Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass*

If there is one thing I love it’s bubble tea, so the fact it’s now more readily and easily available to buy on the high street makes me so happy! I especially love that Coventry has more than one bubble tea place to venture to as well. They only have one chain and to be blunt, it’s shit. So after I discovered Bubbla Boba through Amy (Writing into the Ether) and my friend Sophie back at the start of the year, I haven’t really looked back and 9 times out of 10 when I visit Coventry I’ll go to Bubble Boba for a drink or two!

Me and Amy – Writing into the Ether

When Amy invited me to the Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass I was so excited to go! I was meant to attend the first Bubba Boba event in March but I just wasn’t able to due to feeling too tired and run down, so the fact I was invited to the one after was lovely.

I was also able to take a plus one, so I ended up getting my boyfriend Dane to tag along too for a fun evening. This was definitely fun and I enjoyed every minute of it, which I think Dane did too.

This experience was gifted for reviewing purposes, so all views on this post are my own.

Bubble Boba is located in FarGo Village in Coventry and as you enter FarGo from Far Gosford Street it’s pretty much one of the first places you will spot on you way into FarGo, which I love! It’s the perfect location if you want to grab a drink before doing some shopping in FarGo or even on the way out on your way home.

Bubble Boba isn’t exactly the biggest store in the world and can’t really house a lot of people – which is a bit of a shame if you wanted to plan a biggish group of you to go and visit. It’s more of a place to go and hang out with a friend and play some games (they have some Nintendo consoles in there and a TV!) or even just relax and have a gossip. I don’t mind walking around with my bubble tea however. Can I also add how kawaii the store is with all the Alpacasso plushies lining the shelves?! πŸ˜€

We were running a little late for the event due to personal reasons so when we arrived we had just missed out on tasting all the yummy bubble waffles that Bubble Boba have on offer. I LOVE bubble waffles so much so it was nice to get the chance to try some of the ones that Bubble Boba have to offer. They have loads of different ones including; Original, Oodles of Oreo, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Unicorn Dreams and my favourite Matcha Madness (which is made out of matcha but also contains mochi).

Not long after we arrived and managed to scoff some of the yummy waffles, we started to taste some of the newest flavours to join Bubble Boba for their Mocktails Collection.

There are six new flavours in this collection and we got to try every single one! The order I talk about them will be the order we tried them in and of course I’ll tell you guys names, as well as what flavours they are and such.

Lemon & Honey – Freshly squeezed lemon with honey from bees.

Tropical Paradise – Passionfruit, strawberry, orange with orange and lemon slices.

Polynesian Punch – Pineapple, strawberry, mango with real pineapple pieces.

Spanish Riviera – Green apple, lychee and honeydew.

Summer Nights – Strawberry, blueberry and cherry.

Hawaiian Sunset – Mango, raspberry and peach.

Summer Nights was definitely my favourite will all the berry flavours. These were all really refreshing in taste to be honest with you and really did remind me of a tropical drink you would have abroad on holiday, or at a friends summertime BBQ party!

After we tried the new Mocktail collection we were able to try all of the toppings they have on offer, including the pudding and tapioca. I LOVE pudding since I discovered it in London last year and always order it for my matcha bubble tea drinks since. I had to give this a go and it was so delicious. I definitely plan to try this with Bubble Boba’s matcha in the future.

I also gave the coconut topping a try, which I didn’t realise was a mixture of popping bubbles and jellies. I HATE the jellies you have with bubble tea! They taste amazing but the texture of them just makes me sick and it just makes me think of gone off food or something. To be honest though I gave it a go and it was much better on it’s on than with the drink itself. Dane loves the jellies however and more often than not actually orders it with his bubble tea whenever we go for it.

We also got to taste Bubble Boba’s tapioca, which was lovely! It’s made with honey to naturally sweeten it, which works really well. I haven’t actually had tapioca for ages as I just prefer popping bubbles more. This was good though and Dane really loved it.

The one thing I really like about Bubble Boba is that they have 3 samples on the bar where you order, which means you can try before you buy specific drinks. They’d had 3 specific drinks on offer that day which were; Pineapple Fruit Tea, Hanoi Sunrise (which was the drink of the day!) and Orange Oolong Fruit Tea. I tried all three and whilst they were all nice I LOVED Hanoi Sunrise the most.

Just to add this in here, when you pop into the store you can order your drinks on the little tablets they have next to these three sample containers if you wish to pay by card, or you can go up to the till if you have cash. I love the system they have on the tablet as it gives you so many options.

After we got to have a try of all the new Mocktails Collection, it was finally time to start having a go at being little bubble tea baristas ourselves, which I was so excited for! I’ve been drinking bubble tea since I discovered it in 2012 and have to this day never given it a go myself, so I was intrigued to see the logic behind how it’s made. I didn’t quite know what to expect 100% but I wasn’t shocked, but I was somewhat surprised too.

We started off with being given our shakers and all told to pick three flavours from all the ones they gave us. These included; strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, green apple, rose, kiwi, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, honeydew, cherry, lemon, honey peach, orange and lychee.

We got to make two bubble teas of our own with two different recipes, or the same one if we really like our first! For my first drink I decided to go for the flavours – green apple, cherry and passionfruit.

Once we had added our desired flavours it was time to add some fructose, which he’s to sweeten the drink further. Then we added 50ml of hot water followed by mixing with a spoon to combine the flavoured syrups, fructose and water together.

Please excuse my face haha xD

When we were ready to move onto the next step we got to choose which tea we wanted to add to our bubble tea creations. We had the choice of three; floral jasmine, fruity assam or fruity oolong tea. For my first drink I decided to go for the floral jasmine tea, as this usually what I get from Bubble Boba when I order my usual, which is the green apple. You then go and add your ice up to a certain point in the shaker, pop on the lid and then get shaking!

Gemma – Just Gem, me, Emily – The Emily Chapters and Amy – Writing into the Ether

This was loads of fun in regards to all the photos, videos and especially Boomerangs you could take, but also bloody tiring! You know you had shook enough when your drink when a frothy texture. This section is VERY photo heavy by the way and I am SO NOT SORRY! πŸ˜›

This is when it was time to go ahead and pick which toppings we wanted for our bubble teas. As we had been giving the chance to taste these earlier on in the event it was good to have an idea of what we wanted. For my first drink I opted for blueberry, raspberry and lemon.

Dane’s first drink was raspberry, strawberry and lemon, with assam tea and strawberry bubbles.

We got to drink our first drinks at the event whilst everything was washed and tidied ready for round two!

Not going to lie, my first drink wasn’t very nice and although I somewhat enjoyed it, it wasn’t great. I was glad at the chance to have a go at making another drink in all honesty due to this. I think it was either the passion fruit flavour or the jasmine tea that ruined my flavours.

When we were ready it was time for round two! We definitely went through the second making of our bubbles teas quicker and sadly I didn’t really get many photos of this due to how straight forward it now was to go ahead and have a go again at making bubble tea.

My second bubble tea drink was a definitely better and I really enjoyed it the day after the event after work. I went for green apple, cherry and lemon with assam tea and blueberry, raspberry and cherry popping bubbles. Dane went for double lemon and green apple with assam tea and tapioca bubbles.

The event overall was amazing and it was great after 7 years of drinking bubble tea to finally be able to give it a go myself and even come up with a new and unique flavour. I especially love how the staff said, any flavours we made and enjoyed we could ask for in the future when visiting the store. YES!

Bubble Boba have recently decided to open their masterclasses to people and have loads of offers online for people to check out. I’m going to link them all down below, so please make sure to go and check them out if you’re interested in this!

Overall I LOVED attending the Bubble Boba Mocktail Party and Masterclass last week and after work it really was something to look forward to. The fact I got to bring Dane along with me and see some of my favourite blogging beauties, it was just perfect all around! I mean, what’s better than bubble tea and friends? πŸ˜›

Do you love bubble tea? If so what do you usually order when you go? I always usually opt for a milky drink of green tea matcha with pudding OR green apple with black tea and cherry popping bubbles.

Are you local to either of the Bubble Boba stores? If so (and you haven’t done so already!) will you be planning to head there anytime soon? Let me know in the comments guys!

Until next time, I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week and your weekends are relaxing.

YY Kawaii – I’m A Brand Affiliate

Good evening my gorgeous readers, I hope you’re all well!

I feel like I’ve started today’s post off different than how I usually do, but it doesn’t hurt to have a change every now and then, does it?

As you may have already guessed from the title, I have some VERY exciting news to share and I honestly cannot wait to talk about it.

YY Kawaii is one of my favourite stores, purely because they sell loads of amazing Japanese anime (and gaming) merchandise goodies that I always flock to them for. They have some of the best prices around for the UK and are really friendly. If you don’t see something they sell, you can always ask them and you’ll get a straight forward answer. They’re always honest about pricing upfront and will let you know if an item is going to be really expensive before you commit to anything.

YY Kawaii is somewhere I go to for mainly Nendoroid figures and Persona 5 and Pokemon related merchandise BUT they sell so much more than just these. Off the top of my head they sell a lot of Sanrio, Love Live, My Hero Acadamia, Hatsune Miku, Sailor Moon and more. Those are just to name a few.

I’ve mentioned YY Kawaii on my blog so many times, through blog posts dedicated to them as well as through mentions on wish list posts. If you fancy checking out some of the posts I’ve written about them on my blog, then check out the link below:

A Mini YY Kawaii Haul

YY Kawaii Collective Haul

Not only do YY Kawaii have their website but they have their Instagram pages YY Kawaii andΒ  YY Kawaii Merch, which is where they sell from too. I buy from both, but more often than not I do but through their YY Kawaii Merch page.

So what does it mean to be a brand affiliate? Well basically I get to do the same stuff I do anyway! Talk about this brand I love, but a little bit more than before. I’ll be trying to write more blog posts about YY Kawaii and what new stock they have out to pre-order, an example being Nendoroid’s and Pokemon and Persona 5 merchandise that month that I’ll recommend to my readers to go and check out. If there is any merchandise in particular from Japan that you would like to see on my blog then let me know and I can try and talk about that stuff more too. A big example of this could be Sailor Moon and Sanrio as I know so many people who love both of these.

As well as that I’ll be doing some more promotion on my blog Instagram page too (@theremightbecoffeeblog) as well as through Facebook groups.

At the time of this post I don’t have a discount code that I can share with my lovely readers, but in the future this is a possibility! As and when this happens I’ll be sharing it on both my Instagram and Facebook pages – as well as sticking said discount code on my blog too, so keep eyes peeled for that!

So when does my brand affiliation start? 1st June, so just over 2 weeks time! I am somewhat nervous because I want to do the brand justice. I feel like I have a big pair of boots to fill, especially as I’ll be on a trial session for a couple of months so I just want to make sure I do the best I can! πŸ˜€

The only thing I ask from my readers is support… In the sense of if there is something you would like me to talk about to do with YY Kawaii, please tell me! I will be more than happy to share Nendoroid’s they stock if you have any in mind. Maybe you’re interested in having a go at Japanese Ichiban Kuji but can’t travel to Japan to give one a go? That’s okay because YY Kawaii do them sometimes! They have some coming up soon, so I would be more than happy to talk about these for example.

Although I have linked back to both YY Kawaii’s website and Instagram pages, I’ll link everything down below too, including social media pages:

So my main question to you guys have you shopped with YY Kawaii before? If so please let me know what you bought! If you’ve never shopped with them before, do you think you will? If so what would you pick up? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

I know this is a short post today, but after I found out this lovely bit of news late last week, I just couldn’t wait to share it with you guys! I for one am so excited to be a brand affiliate for a brand I love to bits… Even if it is only for a couple of months. πŸ™‚

Until next time, I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you’re all enjoying the gorgeous weather at the moment. It’s glorious and well deserved for us lot in the UK πŸ˜›

A Mini YY Kawaii Haul

Okay, so I said I was going to be saving money this year but yet I’m posting a haul on my blog today! Some saving, eh? Well most of these items I pre-ordered months ago in all fairness and now they’re here I paid the balance off and they arrived. πŸ™‚

So I thought I would show you guys what goodies I recently bought from YY Kawaii! I love her store so damn much and whenever I’m after certain items, I know if I ask, not only will they try their hardest to get said item(s) but they’ll also offer the best price(s) too.

The first item on I’m going to mention in this haul is one I pre-ordered back in September! I didn’t realise it had been THAT long! The wait for this Persona 5 Joker plushie has been totally worth it though and he’s so adorable! He looks really happy with his little smiling face and the detail on his outfit, as well as his face is so good! There’s quite a few of these coming out alongside Joker and even my massive Morgana plushie is a part of the nesoberi collection! This plushie will be going on my bookshelf alongside the Joker plushie I have on there already.

Another item I pre-ordered before Christmas is the Eevee Tamagotchi! I decided to order this for myself before Christmas. This wasn’t cheap and although I didn’t mind paying the price for it at the time, when it arrived I couldn’t quite believe how small it was. Fuck me it’s tiny and it’s kind of a joke how tiny it is. This being said, I like it all the same and LOVE playing it before and after work since it arrived! You could get the pink and yellow versions, I opted for the latter. As you’ve probably guessed you’re looking after an Eevee which after 3 days if lots of love and care, will turn into one of the nine Eeveelutions! I haven’t got to that point just yet, but I can’t wait to find out which one I’ll be getting already! For the price I’m glad I picked this up as they won’t be making anymore now. I would have left it in the packaging, but meh what’s the point in paying money for something I can’t play and enjoy?! Would you guys like me to review this by the way? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Finally we come onto the next two items, which I pre-ordered just after Christmas and my birthday as a treat for myself. I mentioned in my “What I got For Christmas 2018” post (which you can read here) that Dane bought me four of the nine Eeveelutions as Christmas presents. This then meant I was only missing two more of the Eeveelutions, Glaceon and Leafeon. So I decided it was time to order them! Less than a month later and they’re here and I love them so much.

Out of the two I love Leafeon the most as its face is just so sweet and adorable to look at! The little brown nose really does it for me. πŸ™‚

So that is all for my mini YY Kawaii haul! I honestly love that I’m able to easily get my hands on Japanese goodies through YY Kawaii. I honestly don’t know what I did before I discovered sellers like her.

Have you bought anything recently? What have you bought? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

I am so glad it’s the weekend, what plans do you guys have?

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all as excited for the weekend as I am. πŸ˜›
