Back To Education Stationary Ideas!

I just want to start this post off by throwing it out there that the title and original idea for this post was for back to school, not education. Then I realised that it’s not just kids and teenagers who get to have fun buying funky stationary, older teenagers and young adults get to as well!

September is by far one of my favourite months of the year and I’ve explained on various different posts over the years why. It just feels like a fresh start to me. It’s when you started a new year at school, college and university. Hey! It’s even when many start their first years at these places and you want to always leave a good impression to the others in your year and classes.

I remember in August as a kid my mom taking me to the stationary shops to pick up some new bits for school. It was always an exciting time! New books, scented gel pens and a fluffy pencil case and I was ready!

Things haven’t changed either, with 90’s trends making a comeback in fashion AND stationary we now have so much funky stuff to feast our eyes upon again! There’s holographic, fluffy, unicorn and even Hello Kitty and Pokemon! Talk about bringing back some nostalgia!

Today I am very tired from a night of awesome drinking and talking with my friend Jacqui, her boyfriend Chris and of course Dane. I didn’t want to write anything at all today. I’m not hungover, but I’m very tired and lethargic. Urgh!

BUT I was scrolling through the internet and decided to do this post. The summer holidays are coming to a close and whether you’re returning or even starting a new year of education, here’s so funky stationary ideas for you to have a look at! 😛 P.S. Pray for me that I feel better by bed time. 😛

Oh by the way, this post won’t contain things you’ll need such as special equipment for maths, art, science, etc. This is just the bog standard necessities. 😛

  • Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Ruled Journal – £12.99 (link)

Now, although I am not a Harry Potter fan myself (sorry guys…) I know a lot of people who are, young and old! I find journals to be great not only for use as a notebook for classes, but also for personal too if you want to get any thoughts written down on paper. Although I’m not a Harry Potter fan this journal looks gorgeous and is definitely one that would get a conversation started for any Potter fan who would see it. It’s not cheap however, so this is a journal for something a little more special.

  • South Park Barrel Pencil Case – £3.99 (link)

This pencil case was mostly added for nostalgia. I remember when South Park came out and everyone and I mean EVERYONE went mad for it! Then WHSmith brought out some pencil cases for it and all the boys in my year had one at some point or another. I wanted one, but they were forever sold out in my local store. This is definitely more for guys but sod it, girls can pull this off just as much! I don’t think this is anything huge either which is always good if you have a small bag.

  • Hello Kitty Gel Pens – £6.00 (link)

Who doesn’t love gel pens eh? Especially scented ones! These aren’t scented but they’re Hello Kitty… What more do you want?! I always found different coloured gel pens to be great to use on certain projects and I’d like to say during revision too… I was one of these stupid kids who didn’t revise… How I would have been if I was as level headed then as I am now… 😛

  • Green Marble Notebook – £2.49 (link)

This is actually a notebook I really want to get for myself… But I won’t because I have WAYYYY TOO MANY! This is a notebook for the more older members of education who may read this post. It reminds me of the notebooks they have over the pond… You know the black and white ones that EVERY SINGLE high schooler owns and uses to write secrets in. ANYWAY! This is gorgeous and would be great to use as a notebook for a certain lecture or class.

  • Bramblewood Fox Notebook – £2.99 (link)

Yes, another notebook. BUT it has a fox on it and you know I love my foxes! I used to own a phone case with this same fox design on, which I adored! It’s just a bog standard notebook really, which you could use for classes or personal. I’d probably end up using it for classes. I find that when you have a really nice and funky notebook for classes, lectures or even at home for notes you just feel good opening it up to jot stuff down.

  • Aquamarine Pencil Case – £5.59 (link)

If I had to have a favourite item on this list, I’d say this is it. As you all know I LOVE anything holographic, turquoise and mermaid themed. This just ticks all those boxes for me and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t at all want to buy it… 😛 It’s a gorgeous turquoise pencil case with a fish scale sort of texture to it. This definitely reminds me of something the “cool kids” at school would have used. Either that or a fluffy pencil case! WHSmith have loads of these sorts of pencil cases available, with quite a lot of them selling out. So if you like the look of these sort of cases, get on there (or even in store) pronto!

  • Pusheen A4 Ringbinder – £4.99 (link)

I LOVE Pusheen and I have a feeling that if I had been a kid when Pusheen first came out, I would have saved up my pocket money ready for when school shopping came around to buy EVERYTHING I could! I remember in my last years of secondary school I used an A4 pad of lined paper inside of a ringbinder for when I jotted notes down. I don’t know how I did it to be fair, as years later I attempted to do that again when studying my MA and I HATED IT. Folders are really handy to have, especially during GCSE’s, but it’s always better to have a cute one.

  • What Would A Mermaid Do Prediction Pen – £8.00 (link)

Holy shit. I randomly found this obviously whilst researching for this post and I hesitated adding it at first as I thought it seemed so daft. I just couldn’t resist though. It’s so dumb but also so funny! If you love mermaid related stuff this pen is for you and the younger you are, the more you can get away with having it. 😛 It’s not cheap at £8.00 however, but it’s just such a novelty! Definitely something to cheer you up when you’re feeling down.

  • Gemma Correll Unicorn Pencil Case – £12.95 (link)

I love Gemma Correll’s designs and in the past I’ve bought and used her stationary items! I still to this day own my ringbinder I bought and now use it to house adult documents in, because I’m now a motherfucking adult. 😛 I saw this pencil case and knew it needed a place on this list. I’ve got a couple of mermaid items, so a unicorn has to be part of the mix too! This isn’t cheap but it is a brand and it’s massive too! This would especially be good for an art student.

  • Getting Shit Done Sticky Notes – £3.50 (link)

I remember when I was at university in my final year I was organised as fuck. I bought some post it notes, expecting to use them seriously and in the end I used them as a way to piss about so that I didn’t have to do any work on  my dissertation… I got a 2:1 on it and overall so it’s not like they affected my mark. 😛 They were boring though, so whenever I see funny or funky post it notes I wish they had been around when I was studying. These made me laugh so much! I may have to buy them for the office and blog related work. 😛

  • Scented Pencil Pack – £4.50 (link)

Smiggle is notorious for their scented stationary, even their pencil cases! It’s cool but I do wonder if they’ve overstepped the mark just a tad… I always give stuff a smell on the rare occasions that I pop in however. I have looked at these scented pencils in the past and it just makes me wish I was at school again! I’d have definitely bought the banana ones.

  • Mini Cookie Eraser Pack – £4.50 (link)

Again another scented item from Smiggle and one I just couldn’t leave out of this list. I was always a sucker for cute little erasers as a kid and I still remember to this day my mom bought me some puppy ones for when I started year 1. I couldn’t bear to use the one as it was just too cute. I’m pretty sure it’s still in my room at home somewhere! These little erasers are just adorable and I especially love that they come in a little plastic tub so you can keep them nice and smelling strong before using them.

So those were my picks for what you could buy for going back to education with. This list was definitely aimed more at a younger audience, but if you’re an adult who loves anything cute and kawaii then this list is totally for you too!

What items would you suggest people to pick up? Please leave links down below! I’m forever on the hunt for cute stationary!

I said at the start of this post that I hope I feel better when it’s finished, and you know what? I actually do feel better! I’m off to spend the rest of my Sunday chilled on the sofa with Dane.

Until next time, take care all and have an awesome bank holiday Monday tomorrow!

Christmas Present Ideas – The Fox Lover

I love foxes, regular readers, friends, family, and just about anyone who knows of my existence will know just how much the cute little ginger guys (and girls!) will mean to me. I don’t know why I love them so much to be honest, I just know I always have, and that my love of them has only grown stronger the older I have got.

I will grow old and be a lady whose home you visit, and when you leave tweet “OMG I’ve just been to this old bags house and it was full of bloody fox things. Fox cups, fox pillows, fox slippers. Hell the woman had a pet fox!” That’s if Twitter still exists when I’m really old.

This being said, when me and my boyfriend get our own home, it will be full of all things foxy and geeky. That’s just the way we roll!

But I know I’m not the only fox lover around, so I thought I would come up with a good list of fox present ideas for anyone who also have a fox lover in their life, like me. Some of these present ideas will also be great for stocking fillers, or even Secret Santa gifts! I know I’d love to receive them all (I’m sure people have already bought me them… Or I already own them)! 😛

  • Sass & Belle Be Free Fox Tribal Adventure Plaque – £3.50 (link)

For anyone who owns their own home, or even just spends loads of times in a certain room of their home (their bedroom, office, etc) this will be the perfect gift for them. It’s a simple, yet pretty plaque that has a tribal fox on it, underneath it states, “Be Free”. The perfect mantra for that person who might lead a busy life. I would love this to hang up in an office myself, and for £3.50 it really won’t break the bank. The perfect gift for a younger person, or even a Secret Santa idea.

  • Avon Fox Mug – £12.00, on offer for £7.50 (link)

I already have this down on a wish list somewhere, which I think my mom is going to buy me for Christmas. This mug is perfect for any fox lover, especially for winter time. This little cutie has a removable wool cosy on it, which has always looked comforting in some way when on mugs. This will be perfect for cold mornings for tea and coffee, and chilly evenings for hot chocolates. I cannot wait to get this!

  • Paperchase Fox Compact Week To View 2016 Diary – £4.50 (link)

There is no gift at Christmas than a new diary to take people into the New Year with. Well, I find this myself anyway! This diary will be great for people of all ages. Children and teenagers for school, college, and university, as well as friends who have busy schedules. Plus it’s not huge either, so it’ll be perfect to chuck into a backpack, or a handbag for on the go. I would have this on my own Christmas wish list, but I have my filofax now, so all I need for that is some new inserts. This again will make a great Secret Santa gift.

  • Aroma Home Home Knitted Fox Slipper Boots – £25.00 (link)

These aren’t on the cheap side, but they do look (and feel from seeing them in store) worth the money, and would make an extravagant gift for a friend or a family member. If there is one gift I like to receive at Christmas it’s anything warm, from a dressing gown, pajamas, or a good pair of slippers. I would love some slipper boots like these myself. I think a teenager would love to receive these for Christmas, and we all know it sucks to get clothes at that age on Christmas Day.

  • TK Maxx Orange Plush Heatable Fox – £7.99 (link)

I actually own this, and I can safely say it is amazing! Not just for when I’m feeling chilly, but it’s also really good for when I’m suffering from period pain. It only takes a couple of minutes to warm up in the microwave and then BAM it’s ready to cuddle up with and keep you warm. This could make a great Secret Santa gift if you’re maximum spend was £10.00. Otherwise it would make a great stocking filler for a teenager, especially one who has recently started her periods and needs something to help the ache go away for a while. You can get these pretty much everywhere as well to be honest! I bought mine from TK Maxx but in store I paid £9.99 for mine, so it’s good it’s not a couple of quid cheaper.

  • John Lewis Midwinter Fox Snow Glove – £15.00 (link)

I eyed this up in store when I first visited the new John Lewis in Birmingham, and I LOVED it! The Christmas section in there isn’t massive, but it really packs a punch. When I spotted this fox snow globe I knew I wanted it. However, whilst I love snow globes I get extremely anxious owning them now. Years ago when I was four years old my mom bought me a snow globe from an old market by where we live. I had it for years and then one day it got knocked off of my shelf and smashed everywhere. I was distraught, I had a lot of memories with that snow globe. So I’m always wary of owning another. However, for people who collect snow globes, they will love this one for sure! It has a gorgeous little fox inside of it with a wreath around its neck. This isn’t cheap at £15.00, but for the price it would make someone a lovely present.

  • Sugar Bunny Shop Doki Fox Button Set – $5.00 (link)

I LOVE Doki Fox! A cute little character created by the people behind Sugar Bunny Shop. He’s a cute little fox who has a chick as a companion, and loves eating dumplings. These are great for a gift to a young fox lover, and especially as a Secret Santa present. My boyfriend bought me some of the stickers with this little cutie on last Christmas, and they really warm my heart. I would loved the badges to stick all over my backpack. They do deliver to the UK by the way, so don’t worry about international shipping!

  • Urban Outfitters Wooden Fox Bowl – £14.00 (link)

I’ve seen this in Urban Outfitters every time I have popped in with friends, and my boyfriend, and each time I have eyed it up and contemplating buying it. It isn’t cheap for what it is don’t get me wrong, but it’s really lovely all the same! Would be nice to keep on a vanity to hold jewellery in, or even keep on a sideboard by the front door for change. The possibilities are endless with something like this! Would make a great present for someone who might be moving into a new home before Christmas, or just after.

  • Claire’s TY Beanie Boos Medium Slick The Fox Soft Toy – £14.00 (link)

How adorable is this? I want to get him to keep for myself! The TY Beanie Boos are really lovely soft toys to buy for anyone of any age, but I will of course recommend these for babies and children. They’ll make lovely little stocking fillers for your own children, family members, or friends children. Of course you could buy these for someone of a more mature age too!

  • Alex Monroe Sterling Silver Fox Pendant in Silver – £126.00 (link)

This is a really pricey present but I wanted to include it on here as it’s a nice one for if you want to spoil a loved one, or a daughter. I would love this myself but it is really pricey… It would definitely be something extravagant. Opening something like this on Christmas Day would be a real treat for anyone, and to see a little fox appear in the presentation box is just something extra special. I don’t really have much to say on this, it kind of speaks for itself.

  • Claire’s Faux Leather Fox Purse – £10.00 (link)

This purse is adorable! It reminds me of the sort of purse my mom would buy me when I was a kid. Therefore making this a lovely present for a teenager. It would also make a great Secret Santa gift. If you get this for someone for Christmas, make sure to pop a silver coin inside for luck. I’m really old-fashioned and do this… 😛

  • Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom Animal Encounters by Will’s Wild Animal Encounters – Predator Encounter – £150.00 for two people (link and link)

This is the last present I will be mentioning as I am saving the best for last! This is something my boyfriend hasn’t booked me for Christmas, but for my birthday at the start of January, which I’m so excited about! It’s an hour of meeting cute predators, and having cuddles with them. You get to meet foxes and feed them chicken, so you definitely get up close and personal. They do offer some more similar experiences with foxes which you can find on the website. I’ll be making sure to take loads of pictures of this as and when it happens. But this would make a lovely gift if you want to treat your other half, a parent, or friend, or a sibling to something really special! They’re based up in Telford, Shropshire so it might be a trek for some, but totally worth it! At the moment Groupon have a couple of offers up there, so you can snag some of these at half the price. It’s a nice treat for after Christmas, and definitely a lovely surprise as well.

So that was my present ideas for people who love all things foxy! What did you think of it? If you liked any items on the list in particular make sure to let me know about them in the comments down below! Or even recommend some fox related products yourself.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re all having a great week.

The Bear & The Hare and a bit of a Christmas ramble

So like most people out here on the World Wide Web, as well as in person, I’m going to be talking about the Christmas advert that John Lewis has brought out this year.

I have so many things that I love about it that I couldn’t NOT make a post about it.

If you don’t know me very well then you won’t know that I am a complete humbug and only this year am  I actually getting into the Christmas spirit, thanks to my boyfriend as well as my friend Poppy who said she would get me into such festive spirits.

I also don’t watch television so when everyone started to talk about the advert online I began to wonder what all the fuss was about and decided to investigate myself one morning before getting ready for work.

If you don’t know which advert I’m talking about here it is:

The advert just reminds me of something I would watch as a child on Christmas morning and the whole feel of the story behind the advert is just beautiful.

As someone who doesn’t like Christmas due to so many negative reasons I’ve always just wanted someone to come along and give  me a reason to see that it’s actually a wonderful time of year.

Anyway I’m going into a ramble here, every year I have done the same. Got myself excited for Christmas towards the end of November and then as December goes on and on nothing goes the way I would like it to and come Christmas Day I feel low and miserable, wishing for the festive period to be over. This is due to personal reasons, which I won’t be mentioning on this post… Sorry.

This year however, as nervous as I am about getting my hopes up I’m going to try my best to get into the Christmas spirit and make sure to enjoy Christmas Day.

My boyfriend knows the true reasons why I don’t enjoy Christmas and he offered for me to go to his for Christmas Day, in the evening so that I can spend most of the day with my family and quite frankly, I’m really nervous. My family aren’t exactly the closest of families, especially at Christmas, whereas my boyfriends family are.

I’m going to wear my best Christmas jumper, some comfortable jeans and some red lippy and as anxious as I’ll be, I’m going to try my best to enjoy the rest of Christmas Day as well as Boxing Day.

I’ve never done this before, so it’s definitely a first for me to go round someones house for Christmas Day, which is why I’m so anxious.

Back to the advert. Everything about the advert makes me happy and look forward to Christmas. The message that the simplest of gifts can be the best ones you’ll ever receive or give to someone, the animation and especially Lily Allen covering Keane’s first single “Somewhere Only We Know” which I have very fond memories of from when it first came out.

In a way my boyfriend telling me he wants me to spend Christmas with him and that he wants me to have a good day actually makes me cry at the thought of it. I’ve never had anyone be so special to me as he is and in the 5 months we’ve been together he already means a lot to me (sorry Dane for being soppy!). It’s like I’m The Bear, I’ve not experienced a memorable Christmas since I was a child and my boyfriend is The Hare, he just wants me to have a wonderful time and a Christmas I can remember for years and years.

I probably sound stupid, but if you knew the sort of rubbish I’ve had to put up with the past God knows how many Christmases, you’d understand. But of course it’s all too personal. Plus this year is going to be incredibly hard for myself and my family as it is the first Christmas we will be celebrating where my Gran isn’t here with us to celebrate too, which at the thought of it earlier today made me want to cry. It hurts that I won’t be able to buy her another Christmas card or buy her something with my Mom that she can keepsake in her room or in the living room and worse of all the house that she had lived in since my Mom was born (nearly 60 years!) will soon be gone, redecorated and have new people living there for Christmas and quite frankly, it breaks my heart.

But I can’t keep being gloomy and sad, I know my boyfriend wouldn’t allow it and my friends wouldn’t either.

Finally I am concluding this post with two points:

I bloody LOVE John Lewis’ Christmas advert this year and hands down it beats all the others and I haven’t even seen them yet! I can’t stop watching it, which sounds rather pathetic. 😛

And finally, I hope that this will be the first of many wonderful Christmases spent with my boyfriend as whilst I’m really nervous about Christmas Day this year, I’m also really excited. He’s fast turned into my rock and after all the crap that has happened before as well as since I met him, I’m just so glad he’s so understanding and wonderful. Could I ask for a better ginger man? Possibly, but only of the edible kind. 😛

I apologise for rambling on this post, Christmas is a sore subject for me, especially this year so throughout December I will be doing plenty of Christmas related posts, as well as some normal ones!

So do you like the John Lewis advert? AND what posts would you like to see during December? Let me know in comments!

I hope everyone is having a brilliant November, I can’t wait to get back to blogging every other day as I really miss it at the moment. Until next time, take care all.
