L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care – Review

 photo Photo 21-06-2017 3 26 39 pm_zpsxpalno0n.jpg

I don’t feel like I’ve written a review for aggggges, which of course sucks! Probably due to lip issues again as my lips appear to not be 100% healed, sadly. BUT I recently bought a product that NEEDS to be reviewed as soon as possible. ๐Ÿ˜›

I couldn’t remember when this came out in the UK but it feels like AGGGGGGGES ago! From what I could find on their Instagram page it said March 5th 2017 that it was first being spoken about… But I’m unsure if this applies to America, or Europe… I know it’s been ย out at least a month because my friend Claire has been using it that long, PLUS I’m sure I eyed it up that long ago in Boots!

ANYWAY I finally decided to pick it up on a trip to Boots and I’ve used it for about a week now and I can safely say I love it and it needed to be reviewed.

First of all I’ll talk about the product itself.

 photo Photo 21-06-2017 3 25 45 pm_zpsdoqnmv7e.jpg

Hydra genius is a liquid care moisturiser which you use on a daily basis in the morning and/or evening. I picked up the normal to combination skin as I have the latter, an oily t-zone and dry cheeks and chin.

 photo Photo 21-06-2017 3 25 50 pm_zpsqwsdsbqy.jpg

I’ll type up what it says on the packaging as it’ll explain the product itself ย better than I will. ๐Ÿ˜›

The Liquid Care; Fresh as water hydrating as a cream. Locks in Moisture for 72hrs. Enriched with Aloe Water & Hyaluronic Acid. Instantly Refreshes. For Normal to Combination Skin.ย Inspired by Asian skincare, L’Orรฉal Paris Laboratories introduces THE LIQUID CARE. It delivers pure moisture that penetrates quickly, deeply and continuously – without overloading the skin.

INSTANTLY REFRESHES. Immediately absorbed, the water-like texture rehydrates and reinvigorates the skin.

INSTANTLY LOCKS IN MOISTURE. The forumla penetrates deelpy for a healthy-looking glow.

72HR RECHARGE It releases continuous hydration and drenches the skin with moisture for up to 72 hours.

How to use: Every morning and evening, alone or after your serum, apply one pump to the face and neck. Massage in circular motions for better absorption. Use instead of your daily moisturiser.

You get 70ml of product in the tube and I’ve found a little bit goes a long way! I’ve seen people on Instagram using three pumps but I’ve found one to two is enough for me! Three is a bit overkill I find.

 photo Photo 21-06-2017 3 26 09 pm_zpsxntjfalg.jpg

I’ve been applying this when the weather has been really warm in the mornings before work and in the evenings after using a face mask, both sheet and clay. I’ve found it’s given my skin a real treat more so in the evenings as part of my pampering routine, which feels lovely!

This doesn’t have a heavy scent to it which is great but it smells so refreshing and that alone I am in love with! It smells of aloe vera of course due to the aloe water ingredient. I can’t stop smelling the back of my hand after taking the pictures for this post. ๐Ÿ˜› It reminds me of holidays in Fuerteventura.

 photo Photo 21-06-2017 3 26 24 pm_zpskriywegl.jpg

As we all know in the UK it’s been REALLY HOT this past fortnight so our skin has been in need for cooling down, especially the face for myself. Alongside the hydra genius I’ve been using my twin-ball facial massager from The Body Shop loads lately and it works so damn good with hydra genius! The metal balls feel cooling on the skin and that mixed with the cooling sensation this moisturiser leaves too it just feels amazing. I highly recommend that facial massager, I’ll leave a link to it here.

I did notice a change in my skin after a week though to be honest. Not in the sense of moisturisation but in the sense of how it has helped with my oily t-zone. I’ve found that it doesn’t look as shiny and like I’ve dipped that entire section near a fat fryer. To be honest my t-zone isn’t bad, I mean it could be worse but when it’s warm it’s just not as good as it could be. You know? xD

I know it sounds really daft but even the packaging itself pleases me and reminds me of a Korean beauty product, which is what inspired L’Oreal to create this in the first place. I just love how to it a gorgeous and summery turquoise colour and it kind of reflects the ingredient aloe vera really. Well I think so anyway. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hydra genius does remind me of something from years before that I used to use, but to honest I prefer the hydra genius, which I’ll explain. The product I’m talking about is another product by The Body Shop, it’s the Vitamin E Aqua Boots Sorbet. It costs ยฃ14.00 for a 100ml jar and a little bit of it goes a long way. It’s definitely like a sorbet but is of a gel and lightweight consistency. This being said it’s thicker than hydra genius and does feel like you need to put a little bit more work in to make it sink into the skin. I wouldn’t fault it though, it’s a great product to use if you need to feel cooled down. I reviewed it when it first came out back in 2014, which you can read here.

This is the perfect product to use during the summer when the weather is hot and also an awesome product to take away to hot climates for holidays. I know I’ll be picking one up for when I go to Fuerteventura, but this being said they probably already have it for sale over there.

So what are my overall thoughts about this product? It’s pretty damn amazing to be perfectly honest with you! I didn’t actually think it would be as great as it is, but it’s wonderful. It might be a light weight moisturiser but it really does do what it states it will, all whilst being cooling and comfortable on the skin.

Although I would use this in the colder months, it’s been invented for summer really and it will definitely work best when there’s a heatwave.

Although I picked this up in normal to combination skin, you can also get it in normal to dry skin and sensitive skin. I was stuck for choice on which one to pick up, but I’m glad I went for the one I did now as it really has helped my combination skin!

Although this is usually ยฃ9.99, Boots have an offer on where you can pick it up for ยฃ6.66. I had a look to check the prices in Superdrug but it doesn’t look as if they stock it, which is a surprise!

I would say if you like the look of it, pick it up ASAP as I’m sure that discounted offer won’t last forever, sadly. I’m going to pick up a couple more bottles when I get paid next. I hope the offer is still on then.

Will you be picking up hydra genius? If so which version will you get? Do you already own it? If so what do you think? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

His & Her E3 2017 Highlights

Image taken from Latest News Explorer

So E3 2017 has come and gone and me and Dane made sure to tune in whenever we could, missing only two live shows, which we caught up on the next day.

I’ve never watched E3 so religiously before and only ever tuning into the conferences and talks after they’ve been live. It was pretty awesome to be honest cuddling with Dane to tune into the talks and at some points we even chatted to our friend Lee via Xbox Live whilst watching the Microsoft talked. We have now both said it will be a tradition to watch E3 every year.

BUT enough of that, let’s talk about what games we’re excited for and what we thought about E3 overall!

I’ll go first! I was tempted to try to do a top 5, but that shit isn’t going to happen. I may only want a select few but Dane wants loads of games… And I can’t say I blame him. ๐Ÿ˜›

I have to be honest and say my favourite conference out of all of them had to be a mixture of Ubisoft and Sony, I sway more towards Ubisoft however due to two of their announcements.

I am a huge South Park fan and have been eagerly awaiting for The Fractured But Whole to come out. I’ve been waiting a year longer than expected in the first place too due to Ubisoft pushing the release date back since late 2016. A new release date has been announced though AND Ubisoft showed off another trailer for the game!

The game play and story looks like it has completely changed from the one at E3 2016. I had heard rumours that Trey Parker and Matt Stone weren’t happy with how the story was going so scraped what they had and started all over again. Although I get pissed off with having to wait for the game to come out, I am grateful that Parker and Stone want what’s best for the fans. They’ve never worked so closely with game companies when South Park games have come out in the past and they’ve commented how they regret it due to how poor they turned out. As usual from the gameplay being shown and played at E3, the guys never fail to be rude and crude and make me piss myself laughing. The footage I’ve watched is set in a strip club! You even have to do a strip dance mini game and your just constantly farting on the guys crotch. NICE! The graphics look so much better than The Stick of Truth which already makes me really happy! It just runs smoother. I’m never ever arsed about that sort of stuff either. Like the first game your character doesn’t talk and is fully customise-able. The battles are completely different now from how they used to be. You still take it in turns to fight your enemies but you can move all around the area now to attack people, which I think is pretty cool! It also looks like you’ll be able to play alongside more characters than before which is exciting! I really can’t wait for this ย game and closer to the release date I’ll be pre-ordering it.

South Park fans were spoilt though as after The Fractured But Whole we were given the above trailer for Phone Destroyer, which is obviously a phone game. I’m just so damn excited for what this game will bring! I’ve been after a decent game to mong out and play on my phone for ages, and alas it’s finally here!

One of the first games that was announced and I was excited for was Life Is Strange Before The Storm. I LOVED Life Is Strange when it came out and I was addicted to it for a while. I loved it so much that after playing it on Dane’s Xbox I ended up buying it to play on my PS4 too. This game is a prequel to the first and follows Chloe three years before the first game and won’t contain time travel, that’s Max’s thing. We follow Chloe after her dad has died in the car accident and basically from what I can tell, how she’s dealing with it and becomes who she is when she is reunited with Max. We see her befriend Rachel and if anyone else is like me when playing Life Is Strange, I was constantly asking myself, “What the fuck happened with Chloe and Rachel? Are they lovers? Or was Chloe being clingy due to what happened to her dad and thought it was more than what it was?” I’m really excited to find out all about Rachel though as she felt like a main character in Life Is Strange even though she wasn’t existent. From what I have gathered so far though from the gameplay she heavily influenced Chloe to become the person she was when Max saw her.ย We will find out in the prequel all about Rachel though! FYI this is not the second Life Is Strange, that is currently in development. I’m so damn excited for this game though and I WILL be getting it on PS4!

Holy shit this is a game I have been excited for for as long as I can remember now. Quantic Dream are the people behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, which are both two of my favourite games! They work exclusively with Sony and PlayStation, which in turn makes me happy as I’m a PlayStation girl at heart. ๐Ÿ˜› Detroit: Become Human was announced a couple of years ago and since then has been worked on! I was really hoping for a release date to be announced after the trailer was shown at E3 this year, but sadly we still haven’t been given a date. From what I can gather from gameplay footage and trailers you play as various different droids who are trying to (as the name suggests) become human. They use their abilities to free the droids who aren’t able to control their abilities and basically make the world between them and human equal and fair. It looks amazing to be honest and the story behind it sounds unique and full of twists and secrets, like the previous games really. To think this game only started off as a way for Quantic Dream to show off what they were doing after Beyond: Two Souls. I’m so glad they decided to go with it though.

Do I really have to talk much about this game? It’s definitely one of my favourites that Microsoft announced during their conference. It’s a new game, Super Lucky’s Tale and it’s coming out towards the end of the year, only to Xbox One. It reminds me of Spyro and you know what? I REALLY miss games like that. I wish people would bring them back, and I’m hoping that this is just the start. It’s also equally appealing to me due to the main character being a cute little fox! I cannot wait to get this when it comes out! A part of me hopes it’s co-op so me and Dane can play it together, but I highly doubt that!

I don’t recall watching the trailer for this at first and due to that Dane was confused whenever he mentioned it to me and I didn’t get excited. “Nat you will want Ooblets!” he kept saying to me over and over again. He popped the trailer on to refresh my memory and I knew straight away that he was right, I would want it. It reminds me of Animal Crossing to be honest… But not as good as Animal Crossing will always have a warm spot in my heart. This will be on the Xbox One so that’ll be the platform of choice for playing this cute game.

Now that I’ve spoken about some of my highlights from E3 2017 it’s now Dane’s turn to take over the rest of the post and talk about his thoughts on the games announced this year, as well as the new Xbox One X.

From the looks of it I will be going against the grain with the populous and say I was and still am pumped from E3. Peoples excited reactions from this years E3 seems to have fizzled out and there are even some people who found this year to be wholly underwhelming. I completely disagree.

First things first is the elephant in the Microsoft shaped room with their new console.

It actually took me approximately 2 years into the Xbox One’s life before I made the transition from the Xbox 360 and I am glad I made the jump. I had serious reservations and complaints about the way Microsoft were handling their launch of the One and did not think it was worth my time and money. Since then they have gone back on many of their plans and with the announcement of the Scorpio (development name of the X) they have rebuilt my faith in Microsoft.

The best thing to do is watch the video above to find out about the specifications but it is all POWER!

In terms of games though there are way too many for me to list here so I will copy in the Xbox game showcase.

Natalee has already mentioned her big ones she’s excited for and I too am also excited for those games, particularly Ooblets and South Park: FBW but she has already spoken of them so I won’t say anymore. For me there is really just too many to discuss and I will most likely forget about some things but I will try to pick a few things out to share my excitement.

Crackdown 3. JUMPING, SHOOTING, THROWING and BLOWING SHIT UP.
The multiplayer for this game will be where it’s at. Making the most of the power of their Azure servers Crackdown is hoping to cause citywide destruction in an online environment. What can I say? I like blowing stuff up… and Terry Crews. NUFF SAID.

Player Unknowns: Battlegrounds is one I never expected to come to Xbox exclusively. I don’t have a PC good enough (yet) to play many games like this. I have always wanted to play a survival/arena game with my friends but the consoles are very limited with what you have available so this is a welcome treat. Here is the trailer from E3:

Sea of Thieves is one more multiplayer game that I have had on my watch list since it was first announced a while back. Open world, multiplayer pirating. There is not really anything more to say. Well, I should also mention it is a Rare (the developer) game who have a brilliant development record until Microsoft bought them out and forced them to do Kinect games. So hopefully this is a return to form for Rare which I am truly excited to go plunder with my friends when it is released.

Anthem was a surprise showing at E3, others may have been expecting a new IP from Bioware but I most certainly was not. This game was gorgeous and also online coop. This is one I am definitely keeping my eye on. I don’t really know much more than it is a 3rd person RPG in power suits. It looks good, take a look!

That’s the main ones from the Xbox conference that made me excited, I just can’t wait till November! I could talk forever about all the games on show so I have really tried to limit myself, but a few honorable mentions are:

Black Desert – Online RPG that looks pretty epic.

The Last Night – Funky retro adventure game akin to the original Flashback.

Cuphead – Bullet hell platformer in the style of the old-timey cartoons.

Ashen – Dark and desperate RPG.

Deep Rock Galactic – Mining with friends!

I am only going to really talk in detail about three more games. Two from the EA conference and one from the Playstation conference.

So first let’s go for the interesting epic that is Days Gone from the Playstation conference. Zombies may be overdone but this really overdoes it in a good way. SO MANY FUCKING ZOMBIES. It actually makes the zombie scary again, not like Dead Rising where the sheer amount is awesome but they are just cannon fodder to have fun with, but a true zombie horde.

I wasn’t so impressed with the Sony conference as much, put that down to me being a fanboy but this year it just wasn’t there for me. There are some games I know I am excited for but there just wasn’t enough for me. Here’s a few honorable mentions:

God of War – An epic story about a gratuitously violent beefcake with a child.

Spiderman – Shame its PS4 Exclusive! No achievements for me on my Xbox. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Shadow of the Colossus (Remake) – Never played the original but damn I want to play this.

EA had a massive show, second only to Microsoft. One of their new and VERY intriguing announcements was their split-screen adventure A Way Out.

Games and their developers seem have forgotten what it means to play with your friends. You may have noticed the majority of my highlights are largely multiplayer, but these are mostly online multiplayer. Gone are the days of playing on the couch with your friends sharing a tiny little CRT TV. A Way Out says fuck that and forces you to play with someone and share the screen regardless of where you are. The story is there too.

Finally from EA is this.

I can safely say both Natalee and I are extremely excited for this. I had the first one and it did not live up to the hype. Yes it was one of the best looking games but there was no substance. EA have promised a single player campaign, free dlc and ALL THREE TRILOGIES. I cannot wait to be playing as the clone troopers in the frostbite 3 engine. The thought makes me moist with anticipation.

YAY after days of asking Dane to write his part of this post, he’s finally done it! ๐Ÿ˜€ I can safely say I am so damn excited for both Days Gone and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. They’re both going to be amazing games! Spiderman is also one I was surprised to see as a PS4 exclusive! This makes me really happy of course due to being a Playstation gamer. The gameplay for it was gorgeous and obviously is steps above games from back in the PS1 days, but it reminded me of the Spiderman game from back in the day. I loved that game so much and would spend hours after school playing it.

I cannot wait for November to come now so we can play new games together, as well as with our gaming friends Lee and Sam!

What were your highlights from E3 this year? Make sure to let me know in the comments, as well as over at Twitter @maybeecoffee ^_^

Until next time all, take care! I hope you’re enjoying the gorgeous weather, I know we are.

The Self Love Tag

I’m sorry my blog has been lacking of a blog post since my haul, but sadly due to being a mixture of busy and Dane taking too long to do his part on a blog post I wanted to get something out there before the end of the week!

We’ve been really busy sadly due to both being off work to chill out together and do work on the house. We have done zero relaxing and chilling and more WORK WORK WORK WORK WORK… ๐Ÿ˜›

Finally it’s Saturday night, I have some vlogs playing and I’m going to take part in the self love tag, which I found over on Sally’s blog Little Budget’s, which I’ll leave a link to here.

Here are the rules:

Answer all the questions honestly!

Tag 5 people youโ€™d like to do this tag! I’m just going to put it out there, if you read this post you must take part in this tag! ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, on with the questions! ๐Ÿ˜€

1. What is something thatโ€™s getting you down at the moment?

Without going into too much detail about it, my job. It’s not what I want to do in life right now and without sounding like a dick, I am so much better than that. I have an MA for fuck sake and it certainly isn’t in the job I’m currently doing. Alongside that money, which again is down to my job.

2. What is something that makes you happy?

Spending time with my boyfriend and friends and writing for my blog. I know that’s probably classed as two things, but they’re both things that cheer me up no matter what.

3. Name 3 guilty pleasures.

Eating anything savoury, scouting eBay for geeky goodies and picking the ingrown hairs out of Dane’s face. ๐Ÿ˜›

4. What is something about yourself you want to improve?

I’d like to try and get back into shape again. I was toned as fuck when I first started my job and I looked hella good because of it! Now, whilst I have lost a bit of weight I want to be toned. I miss my minor two pack abs and hench as fuck arms. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

5. When was the last time you belly laughed?

Wednesday night/Thursday morning over at a friends house. We were playing games and we just hollered with laughter. It was amazing.

6. What is your biggest insecurity/fear?

I guess failing. I don’t want to end up looking back on my life and thinking, “Fuck Nat what did you do wrong?” I want to have a great job that not only pays my bills but enables me to do things I REALLY want to do. Examples being going to Japan, buying things I really want, paying off our mortgage, etc. As well as that I really do want to start my own family, but right now I’m such a mess that I just can’t and that fucking sucks. I just want to do well in life. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

7. Name a song that always cheers you up when youโ€™re down.

Erm… I’m not sure to be honest I have so many! xD Right now the main song from Persona 5 makes me happy.

8. Name 3 things you like about yourself.

My eyebrows as they’re naturally amazing. My hair because it’s lovely, long and wavy. Finally… Probably (I know it’s two) but my boobs and bum. Over the years they’ve just got better and it’s nice to finally have a chest! That and Dane loves my bum, which is something I’ve always hated as I thought it was too big. It’s from him loving it that has helped me love it too. :’)

9. What is an achievement thatโ€™s made you proud of yourself this year?

I can’t say as I have one to be honest… I know that sounds dumb but I really can’t think of anything. So far this year it’s been a mix of massive emotions. If anything I know a few are proud of me for reaching out for help about my mental health, but I just feel like that isn’t enough to make myself proud sadly. So right now nothing has made me proud yet… Sadly.

10. Tell us your happiest memory.

Ever? Erm… Quite possibly when me and Dane went to Fuerteventura for the first time and went out together for little adventures in the day. Due to this it makes me really excited for September when we go again!

So those are my answers for the self love tag! Will you be giving it a go? If so make sure to comment on here and link me to your posts! ๐Ÿ˜€

Until next time all take care and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend so far.

17 Things I Want To Tell My 17 Year Old Self

I feel so fucking old. 10 years ago I was 17. This time last year I was in my first year of college, approaching the summer holidays and getting ready to go into my second year. Life was great but around July/August time shit hit the fan and the end of 2007 was crazy.

This was the year that I changed and it was a mixture of for the good and not so much for the good. I’ve wanted to write this post for a while now but meh I always write notes on it and lose them. I’m just going to write it straight onto here now, then I can’t make up excuses that I’ve lost the notes. ๐Ÿ˜›

Warning, there might be some upsetting topics mentioned at times in this post, but nothing TOO serious. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Your college friends suck. We know this and you deserve so much more. But you’ll meet one of your best friends this year so don’t panic! You’ll make more friends and ones who treat you with respect.
  2. College sucks, honestly it does. University will be amazing and you’ll have the time of your life!
  3. Your mental health is bad right now, but it’ll be okay. You’ll get some help and from it you’ll grow stronger as a person. You have yourself to thank later as well as some old friends from the website we do not speak of.
  4. Your style isn’t exactly amazing, but fuck it! It’s your style and if you like what you wear then sod it! Those white high tops you love to rock? You keep fucking rocking them. You’ll still own a pair 10 years later. You’ll also still wear all your geeky slogan tees and black skinny fit jeans.
  5. Oh by the way, you still own your black and red checkered Vans… Your 27 year old self is a fucking legend.
  6. Be prepared. Later on this year you’ll lose your virginity… But sadly it comes at a cost. You’ll lose it to someone horrible.
  7. In turn you’ll have a month of emotional abuse, as well as other things. You’ll get through it and luckily it won’t mess you up sexually. If anything you’ll just see it as a bad experience and explore your sexuality more over the next 10 years.
  8. Yes, you hate that your eyebrows are thick, black and are constantly commented on. BUT don’t touch them brows girl. Mom is right! Someone called Cara Delevingne will emerge eventually and big dark brows will be in. They’re in 10 years later and people pay big money to get them tattooed on and for eyebrow pencils, stencils, etc etc. Keep rocking what you were born with. People will be jealous.
  9. In 10 years you’ll meet one of your childhood heroes, Jesse Margera. You’ll shake and be nervous as hell but love it all the same! What? You don’t believe me? Fuck you then. Wait and see! ๐Ÿ˜›
  10. One of the girls you occasionally talk to on the website we do not speak of will become your best friend.
  11. One of the locations you film a project for for college will be the place you eventually move and buy your first home at.
  12. You do some pretty bad things later on in the year. You drink a lot and take drugs. This is just a phase and it passes eventually. Thankfully quickly enough that it doesn’t become something worse or a habit.
  13. You have a secret thing for Japanese things, including anime and manga. You don’t know anyone else who loves these things. Just be patient, those people will come along soon.
  14. Don’t think about dying sweetheart. I know it hard and it’s something you’ll continue to do for a long time, but try not to. Things seem worse than they actually are, but you’ll get through it all.
  15. You’ll get into your first relationship this year! YAY! It’s good but sadly it isn’t forever. You’ll understand why, but just remember. Let go of the things you love if they don’t make you happy.
  16. Thanks to studying media you’ll learn that you love to write. Don’t let go of that hobby! It’ll get you places.
  17. Finally don’t think that you’ll ย be alone forever, because you won’t. A couple of guys will turn you down telling you you’re ugly, fat, a loser. You’re none of those things! Sadly due to those things you end up with low self esteem, anxiety and possibly a minor eating disorder. Fuck those guys because you were too damn good for them all anyway. I know it hurts when you look up into the sky and wonder, “Where is he? I just want someone to love me for who I am.” He’s waiting out there for you and he’s thinking the exact same thing as you are. He’s not even the person you meet later on this year. You won’t meet him until you’re 23. But he’ll be worth the wait, trust me.

So that was the 17 things I would say to my 17 year old self.

The main thing I remember from 2007 was just what a crazy year it was. I discovered a lot about myself and I grew up quite a lot. It was also one of the worst years of my life and I’m so glad I managed to get through it. I knew some shitty people from my college course and after I fell out with them I befriended a group of people in college who were just as bad as the classmates, if not worse. They were scummy and the kind of bunch you would find on a Jeremy Kyle episode. I took the whole thing as a massive lesson.

Sadly due to what happened during my first year of college I developed depression and anxiety, as well as low self esteem due to how people picked on me for how I looked. I wasn’t a pretty teenager. I had loads of spots, thick eyebrows and I dressed like a boy. That was just who I was! I hadn’t yet really discovered who I was and I was stuck in a sort of limbo. I only really discovered who I was in my final year of university, if not after when I finished!

Sometimes we forget how hard it is being a teenager and I can only imagine now with social media being bigger and available to us 24/7 and from a few clicks on our mobile phones I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like for teenagers today.

I honestly wish I could go back in time and speak to my teenage self. She always felt so alone and different. She thought the people who DID understand her were her friends, when in reality they were just using her for their own entertainment. One word, cunts.

That being said I think I grew stronger as a person, as well as very bitter towards people. I take people with a pinch of salt now until I get to know them better to judge whether I trust them or not. At the same time if people piss me off I usually tell them how it is and where to go. That’s just what I’ve learnt is best to do from years of taking shit from people and trying to be nice. ๐Ÿ˜›

OKAY RANT OVER!

P.S. Those are the only two decent pictures of 17 year old me I could find. ๐Ÿ˜›

What would you tell yourself 10 years ago? Please let me know in the comments!

Until next time take care all and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

The Blogger Tag

SOOOOOO sorry that I’m a day late for a blog post, but I got busy with life… And sleeping.

To explain why I never got a blog post written yesterday short and sweet, I was up for work at 4.30am, YES IN THE AM! Got back from work at 1.30pm, stressed out about my PS4 not working and thus had to wait for Dane to come home from work about 4pm to fix said issue. He fixed it around 4.30pm and I was fast asleep. Woke up at 8pm, watching him play some games, watched Soviet Womble videos on YouTube (which in turn is an AMAZING YouTuber and you should check him out here) and fell to sleep about 10pm-11pm. Sleep was legit the reason for no blog post yesterday! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So when I was trying to come up with an idea of what to write today I stumbled across a saved post on my Bloglovin’ account that I’ve wanted to do for agggggges! It is as you can see, The Blogger Tag. I wasn’t tagged to take part in this sadly but I’m doing it anyway, because I am a blogger… And because I can ๐Ÿ˜›

This tag was found on Life For Me Lately which is run by the lovely Megan! I’ll leave a link to her post here so you can read her answers to the questions. ๐Ÿ™‚

Question 1 โ€“ How tall are you?

As far as I’m aware I am 5’6 or 5’7… ๐Ÿ˜› Not short, but not tall. ๐Ÿ˜›

Question 2 โ€“ Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?

Erm… *calls Dane and asks if I have a hidden talent* Apparently he doesn’t know either. ๐Ÿ˜› I don’t think I actually have any to be honest…

Question 3 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?

Oh God all sorts! I hate when people follow you on both Twitter and Instagram, you follow them back because you’re a polite human being and THEY FUCKING UNFOLLOW YOU! Piss off people who do this because it is just do damn annoying! That and when you follow someone on Twitter you get that annoying automated message bullshit. Urgh go away. ๐Ÿ˜› OH and I also hate when people review make up and don’t at least swatch said items. I want to know what it looks like outside of the tube, thank you please.

Question 4 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?

People who feel the need to go around spreading other peoples business. That shit has nothing to do with you. Also people who can’t say simple things such as please, thank you and excuse me. Just piss off with your impoliteness. ๐Ÿ˜›

Question 5 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite song?

I can’t just pick ONE favourite… Well I could. The song I’ve added is one I fell in love with growing up and it definitely helped shape my love for French house/electronic music. OF COURSE I love my rock, metal etc too but I love this song so much. One of the guys behind making this song is Thomas Bangalter who is also half of Daft Punk… FYI he’s the dude who wears the silver helmet. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Question 6 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite social media website?

Definitely Instagram! ๐Ÿ˜€ I love it even more since creating an account to coincide with my blog. If you want to follow me by the way it’s @theremightbecoffeeblog.

Question 7 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite way to spend your free time when youโ€™re alone?

Usually catching up on blog work, playing Persona 5 (I’m addicted to that game right now) and having some of my favourite songs on whilst I clean the bathroom. I like to dance whilst I clean by the way. ๐Ÿ˜›

Question 8 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite junk food?

There’s all sorts I love to binge on really… As long as it’s savoury then I’m happy! So usually pizza, crisps and cheese.

Question 9 โ€“ Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

I don’t have any pets sadly. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I’d love a black miniature schnauzer though!

Question 10 โ€“ What are your number one favourite nonfiction/fiction books?

I’m always a sucker for Sophie Kinsella books, especially the Shopaholic series! Also love a bit of John Green too, my favourite being Looking for Alaska. OH and the Bridget Jones books are amazing.

Question 11 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite beauty product or tool?

Although I only have one I adore the Kat Von D liquid lipsticks and I REALLY want more. ๐Ÿ˜› I also love the colour changing lipsticks by Barry M too! I want to review them both very soon. Speaking of Barry M I always find their lip liners to be the best as well.

Question 12 โ€“ When were you last embarrassed? What happened?

I’m forever embarrassed! What do you expect from someone with anxiety? ๐Ÿ˜› Erm… Probably one of the last times I was was at work. A colleague made me jump, which in turn made me squeal quite loudly. I stood there for a while smiling and trying to pretend that what happened hadn’t. Oh dear. ๐Ÿ˜›

Question 13 โ€“ If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Probably Red Bull… I’ve noticed I’ve started to drink that loads lately. Either that or coffee, can’t live without my daily cup of coffee. ^_^

Question 14 โ€“ Whatโ€™s your favourite movie?

Ooo this is a hard one! Either Spirited Away, The Green Mile or Forrest Gump.

Question 15 โ€“ What was your favourite lesson in school and why?

It was either drama or English, I couldn’t pick one or the other. I feel like I enjoyed English that little more as I found people thought drama was more of a class to piss around in than actually learn.

Question 16 โ€“ If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Either Fuerteventura or Tokyo.

Question 17 โ€“ PC or Mac?

Although I would sway more towards PC I would also love to have both (well we do seeing as I own a PC and Dane owns a Mac) because Mac’s are better for editing (both photo and video) software than PC’s in my opinion.

Question 18 โ€“ Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse? (or kind gesture from a friend)

Dane gave me a quick kiss earlier on this afternoon. Nothing soppy, but nice all the same. ๐Ÿ™‚

Question 19 โ€“ Favourite celebrity?

Erm… I don’t know to be honest… I love loads I can’t really pick one. Ryan Reynolds is probably my favourite to be honest but I love so many! Examples being Simon Pegg is definitely one, alongside Amy Lee, Dave Grohl, Johnny Knoxville, Joseph Gilgun, Iwan Rheon and more but I can’t think of them right now.

Question 20 โ€“ What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?

There’s a couple but they’re more YouTube vloggers than bloggers. Inc Ninkcompoop, Lily Melrose and Miss Budget Beauty.

Question 21 โ€“ Who is your biggest inspiration?

I really don’t know to be honest… I’m supposed to say my parents and it’s not that they don’t inspire me but sadly my mental health is so bad right now that I don’t have any motivation to do a whole lot right now to even be inspired to do anything… If that makes sense? :’)

Question 22 โ€“ What is your favourite blog to read?

Definitely one of my fellow geeky bloggers! Either Raiin Monkey or The Mini Mermaid. I just find a lot of their posts that they write I’ll always find something I love, especially on their wish lists.

Question 23 โ€“ What is your favourite high street shop?

I don’t know really as I don’t buy clothes much anymore really… I find I sway from different stores and right now I’m loving the bikinis New Look are offering! I usually end up buying pieces from Topshop though. Either way I don’t have a favourite. If there’s a store I’m loving right now it’s Killstar!

Question 24 โ€“ Are you in education or do you work?

I’m working, full time sadly. ๐Ÿ˜›

Question 25 โ€“ One thing you are proud of?

I’m proud of owning my own home. It’s so fucking hard to do right now, but me and Dane have formed a great little team and we have our lovely home to leave and come home to everyday and that makes me happy. I’m also proud of what amazing best friends I have! Aside from the house I’m also really proud of my blog. I love it so damn much and I try to work on it as much as I physically can. It’s getting better as each month goes on and that itself makes me happy.

YES! That was The Blogger Tag! I tag everyone who reads this post to give it a go. Of course if you do I want you to leave your blog ย links in the comments or over on my Twitter @maybeecoffee so I can come and read your answers.

I hope you’re all doing well and having a great week so far. What a shame about the weather though huh?

Until next time take care all!

June Wish List ’17

It’s the sixth month of the year, which means we are officially halfway through 2017 AND it’s also the month of both mine and Dane’s four year anniversary as well as our first anniversary since we got the keys to the house. YAY!

It’s also another month where I need to watch my money and be good… Which I don’t think I’ve really done this month sadly. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I’ve bought things here and there. URGH! If I buy anything next month though it’ll be something for Dane’s anniversary present. He wants a Fitbit but they’re so expensive! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Although I need to be good it won’t stop me wishing for things I can’t have! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Smoko Elodie Unicorn Ramen Bowl – $29.99 (link)

I’ve always wanted a proper ramen bowl but I’ve never really found one I like the look of. I discovered this a couple of months ago when I saw that Smoko had a Kickstarter page going and I found they had created a ramen bowl to go alongside their Elodie mug, which I also want! I was going to back the Kickstarter they were doing but when I saw how much they were charging extra because of me being in the UK, I changed my mind. Very sad times. I’d still love this bowl though! It’ll be something I get when I have some spare cash. Import from the USA will be a fucking fortune.

  • Firebox My Neighbour Totoro Mug – ยฃ16.99 (link)

Okay so it’s not like I need anymore mugs… BUT who can resist this one? Honesty! I love Totoro just as much as most people in the world so this mug is right up my street. I love how he has a lid which obviously makes for his ears. I don’t know what I’d use a mug with a lid for. My mom does all the time… ๐Ÿ˜› I’d have this for hot chocolates to be honest in winter time. You could put marshmallows inside and pop the lid on to help them melt! YES THIS IS THE BEST IDEA EVER!

  • PS Vita Slim – Prices vary depending whether you buy new or second hand…

I REALLY want a PS Vita… Don’t ask me why I just do! I love my Nintendo 2DS loads and although I don’t play it as much as I used to I do love my handheld consoles and enjoy playing them. I guess I just want to add another to my collection. I also like a lot of the exclusive games on there and they’re super cheap now to buy on the official PS store so why not get one now? Sadly they’re only mostly available second hand and are ยฃ80-ยฃ150 depending which one you get. The slim is what I want and is sadly more expensive. Places like GAME and CEX sell them second hand so if me and Dane go through with our ideas for anniversary presents I may be getting this and he may be getting a Fitbit. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Root Letter PS4 Game – ยฃ20.00 (link)

I don’t really need a new game for my PS4 anytime soon as I can see Persona 5 taking up much of my life until The Fractured But Whole comes out later this year. BUT I have looked into Root Letter and it looks pretty damn cool! It’s set in Japan for a start, which is a genre of games I appear to enjoy now. It’s a murder mystery style game which looks and sounds really interesting. For ยฃ20.00 if I really want to grab myself something else to play alongside Persona 5, at least I know it won’t break the bank!

  • Your Name Manga Vol. 1 – ยฃ9.99 (link)

I did a little digging last month about Your Name after I saw it in the cinema in April and I delightfully discovered that the film was being turned into a novel AND a manga! I knew I would want to pick up the manga, and guess what? IT’S OUT THIS MONTH! I’ll want to pre order it or at least order it the day it comes out… But money… I may order the novel though for when I go on holiday. I’d love to add it to my collection.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Manga Vol. 3 – ยฃ9.98 (link)

This is a manga I’ll definitely be pre ordering closer to the release date! I’ve been waiting patiently for it to come out for a couple of months now so it’s something I need to read! ๐Ÿ˜€ I love Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, especially the anime! I soon picked up the manga and although I don’t like it as much as the anime, it’s still great.

  • cKy The Phoenix Album – ยฃ6.99 (link)

Oh my I am sooooo excited for this album to come out this month! I’ll be downloading it as soon as possible to listen to in the car. I love cKy so much and they’re one of my favourite bands so it’s going to be like seeing an old friend hearing the new album. I already know however that it’s going to be completely different to the previous four albums and I’m unsure if I’m excited or nervous about this… We shall see…

  • Secret Key Pink Racoony Hydro-Gel Eye & Cheek Patch – ยฃ12.47 (link)

I’ve had my eye ย on these for a couple of months now as they look pretty amazing to be honest and I have heard some mixed reviews on them. They’re cute little pink patches that you apply to your under eyes and cheeks. I’d only use these on my eyes though to give me a cooling sensation, help my bags and wake me up a little. They sound like they’d last ages as well and at a decent price. PLUS the raccoon on the packaging is so damn cute! Which is something that first attracted me to the product… ๐Ÿ˜›

I feel like this months wish list is so boring… I also feel like there was so much more stuff that I actually wanted… Obviously not! I really need to watch my month this month as I was a little naughty in May… I’m meant to be saving up for the holiday in September as well as stuff for the garden. FUCK SAKE I HATE BEING AN ADULT!

What items are on your wish list for June? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far.

May Favourites ’17

Well hello June! Both mine and Dane’s month of big things, including our 4 year anniversary and also our first year anniversary of buying our house.

May has been nothing but shit to be perfectly honest. The start of the month saw me really poorly and without going into detail work has been crap. This has sadly resulted in my mental health getting worse and me relapsing. I’ll have to go into more detail about this in another post though.

BUT June! I’m seeing it as a month for improvement! Getting myself a better job, saving up better for our holiday and getting myself better.

May was the month that I was able to start wearing my lipsticks again WHICH IS AMAZING NEWS! I’ve never been so happy as to wear my red MAC lipstick. ๐Ÿ˜›

Of course I have some other favourites so lets get to it!

  • Boots Extracts Marshmallow and Peppermint Body Scrub.

This is a body scrub I picked up in the sales in the marshmallow and peppermint gift set. I really wanted to get one of these so I was really pleased that I found one on New Years Eve on a trip to town with Dane! I’ve already used the shower gel and I use the hand cream at work, which is amazing. The body butter it equally as good. The body scrub isn’t the best in the world but it certainly does the job! I just wish it was rougher really as whilst I have sensitive skin I still like to feel that something it working and doing the job. Obviously this was limited edition for Christmas so it can’t be bought now (well, unless it’s on eBay) so yeah… ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Palmolive Gourmet Mint Shake Body Butter Shower Cream.

I LOVE these shower creams so damn much, I can’t even put into words! Every time me and Dane see these on offer whilst out doing our food shop we pick a couple up. Whilst the chocolate one is my favourite this is a new one me and Dane picked up to try and og my… It was gorgeous! ๐Ÿ˜€ Sadly I don’t have the bottle anymore as we used it all up. We’re currently using the vanilla one, which is equally amazing! These are really thick shower creams and a little really does go a long way! This always leaves my skin feel soft and smooth and smelling amazing. The chocolate one is definitely the best but it doesn’t hurt to try the others! If you haven’t tried these yet PLEASE get some and give it a go. I doubt you’ll regret it. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Victoria’s Secret Victoria EDP.

Late last year I travelled down to Chichester for work and after I’d finished any shifts I’d done there I was able to go and do whatever I wanted for the rest of the day. Not going to lie, most of the time I ventured to the shops as I was so bored in the hotel room otherwise! I went into the town centre on my last day and ended up going in TK Maxx to do a bit of retail therapy. Among some Korean beauty items I picked up this perfume. Whenever I venture into Victoria’s Secret I ย have a smell of the perfumes in there to see what they’re like. They’re nothing special to be honest but they look great because of what they are. You know? This is a 50ml bottle and cost me about ยฃ25.99 from memory. It’s a great perfume but not as good as I remember… I use it for work really as a body spray more than anything. It’s like and not that heavy so it’s good if you work around food.

  • Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Lipstick in shade Roman.

I’ve owned this for about a year now and I’ve probably only used it a ย handful of times. It’s a very creamy and glossy lipstick and due to that I find it’s a bit too sticky and heavy to use during work. This is however the first lipstick I wore since my lips being bad and I actually didn’t realise how easy and nice this lipstick is to wear. To get rid of that glossy feeling I blotted it a little and it lasted AGES! It’s also a really nice lipstick to wear during warm and muggy weather. It’s one I’ll be wearing more this year for sure. I miss wearing lipsticks instead of wearing liquid lipsticks all the time. This one is pretty moisturising too.

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Reviving Pumiceย Foot Scrub.

I’ve loved this foot scrub for years and although I’ve had this new tub since January this year, I’ve hardly used it to be honest… I don’t know why… BUT I’ve recently started using it once a week to make sure my feet are lovely and soft! To date I haven’t found a foot scrub as good as this one. It doesn’t work miracles (for ยฃ7.50 you can’t expect that!) but it does help my feet be soft and smooth for a while! You can’t really go wrong and I recommend The Body Shop foot range to everyone. It’s definitely the best thing about The Body Shop.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Daria.

Daria has been around for years and whilst I have always known about it, I’d never actually watched it until recently. At the start of May I was really poorly with a stomach bug and for nearly a week was bedridden due to it. So whilst I had to stay in bed I decided to binge watch all of season one and half of season two. I never realised how good it was to be honest as well as ย how much I can relate to both Daria and Jane! I love them both so much, I want two besties just like them. ๐Ÿ˜› Even though me and my best friend Gabriella are probably like them anyway! xD I really need to continue watching it really and when I have my week off in a few weeks time I think I’ll binge watch it from the start with Dane, as I discovered he likes the show too. ๐Ÿ˜€

Favourite Film – Popstar: Never Stop Stopping.

This film isn’t new, in fact it’s been out for a year now and it’s one me and Dane have watched a couple of times now. It’s hilarious to be honest! If you love The Lonely Island then you will love this film as it’s the same guys behind the band. It’s basically a piss take at Justin Bieber, as well as other pop bands and artists out there. The songs (as usual by The Lonely Island) are catchy and funny as fuck! There’s also loads of celebrity appearances including Justin Timberlake as a Japanese sushi chef, who is absolutely hilarious! If you haven’t watched this film yet then I recommend it.

Favourite Book – Bridget Jones’s About The Boy.

This is a book I bought back in 2015 after I returned from my holiday in Fuerteventura with my dad. I had read The Edge of Reason and fell in love with Bridget all over again. SO of course I had to pick up the third book! I haven’t read loads (I hardly get time to read books… Manga I appear to. :P) but oh my God it is lovely to read about Bridget again! I was inspired to pick it up after watching the third movie Bridget Jones’s Baby. Sorry ladies (and gents) of the world who love that film but I thought it was so tacky and just awful. It was so obvious all the way through who the dad would be and it just lacked anything that Bridget would do in my mind. Well most of the time anyway. She would complain constantly about how she’s going to be a crap mom, how she can’t smoke, how she can’t drink, how she’s gaining weight. I don’t recall any of that happening. I’ve also ordered the fourth book too, which is Helen Fielding’s take on it, which already sounds much better than the film!

Favourite Song – RuPaul “Jealous Of My Boogie” and “Glamazon”.

ย I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a massive fan of the songs from RuPaul… I especially don’t like how he uses the show to advertise his new single… Sorry but yeah. This being said there has always been two songs that stand out to me, which are Jealous Of My Boogie (which I’ve added above) and Glamazon. I just love how catchy and upbeat both songs are. I find myself playing them in the bathroom whilst cleaning! I love the one I’ve linked about the most. I need to download some music very soon and these two will definitely be downloaded straight away.

Favourite Game – Persona 5.

No word of a lie, I haven’t enjoyed a game this much since I discovered Pokemon and Animal Crossing, which are two of my favourite game series. OH and South Park of course! ๐Ÿ˜› I haven’t been playing this nonstop due to being an adult, but if I could I totally would! I play it a couple of nights a week after work and I can’t wait until I play it next. I mean after I’ve typed up this blog post (and probably another) I might go downstairs and play it (although it’s 7.30pm now… I may be too late to go down and play. Sad face.) but we shall see!

I don’t know how to explain what the game is about and to be honest I want to review the game itself so I don’t want to go into too much detail! It’s like Pokemon to be honest but darker. ๐Ÿ˜›

Yeahhhh so those were my favourites for May! I can’t believe we are officially halfway through the year now. 2017 is going way too quickly and whilst I’m glad (kinda…) I’m also feeling like my life is flashing before my eyes and I’m not doing anything with it, which sucks. It’ll get better though…

What were your favourites from May? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all!
