L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Lip Paint in Nude-Ist – Review

Oh dear I can’t believe I haven’t written a review since before I went on holiday! The review was back in August and I do apologise for how long it’s taken me. I’m sure there are various reasons, mostly being too busy and to be honest a little bit too miserable to wear any lip products, which makes me feel sad.

I’ve been at my new job a week now and I can safely say I love it and wearing my lipsticks again is back, and that in itself makes me so happy! I haven’t yet ventured into wearing dark lipsticks but give it time… I’m sure I soon will when I feel comfortable!

In the meantime I dug out a lip paint that I picked up in September and have been meaning to review for quite a while now. I’ve felt a mixture of thoughts about this lip paint and after my holiday I put off using it for a while due to that. Of course I’ll go into that in more detail as and when I can throughout this review.

For now grab a not hot drink because it’s bloody freezing today and I hope you enjoy my review.

I’ve wanted to try one of the L’Oreal lip paints since they first came out, but I could never find a shade that I really liked the look of. I did notice Nude-Ist through the advertisements in Boots but I still wasn’t sure about it due to it being marked as a nude shade. I’m not a fan of nude shades AT ALL! However when I read Emily’s review of this over at her blog The Mini Mermaid. I loved her review so much of it and she included swatches, which encouraged me to swatch this myself and ended up with me buying it.

Although Nude-Ist is a nude shade, it does look more of a purple grey shade to me. Let’s just say that if it was shouting out nude, I wouldn’t buy it!

I want to start off but addressing one of the main issues I have with this lip paint and it’s nothing to do with the product itself… When I bought this all of the tubes in the display were scratched, I even grabbed one of the tubes from the back and it was the same, so I bought that one. None of these were protected in plastic either, so I didn’t know if I was picking up a new one or a tester, which was sort of annoying. When I got it home and tried it, it looked like it had been used due to the screw cap inside the tube being covered in the product. The tube also didn’t feel very full, as if it was half empty. I was meant to take it back to the store but ended up leaving it, as I bet they wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it.

This put me off using the product in all fairness, but it’s been okay. I have noticed a few issues though when I first bought it, but I don’t know if this is due to it actually being a used product or just the product in general. I’ll go into this as the review goes on. For now I’ll talk about the packaging itself.

It’s very different to most liquid lipsticks and lip paints. This one comes with a fluffy doe foot applicator which is my favourite to use when applying these sorts of lip products. Although I don’t like the style of the tube due to it not being see through it, I do like that you can squeeze it and thus get more product onto the applicator.

The product has a smell that I’ve noticed in previous L’Oreal lip products, including one of the lipsticks I bought and reviewed back in 2014, which you can read here. It reminds me of Parma Violets, which I’m not the biggest fan of. Due to the smell it does put me off wearing this lip paint if I’m being sensitive. There has been a couple of occasions where I’ve worn this and the smell has been so strong on my lips that when I’ve been breathing and talking through my mouth it’s made my throat sore due to the scent. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t strong or heavy by any means and when I’ve re worn this again recently I’ve not encountered these issues again… So I’m not sure what it could be. Maybe I had applied too much of it on my lips.

This is definitely creamy in texture and due to that is so comfortable to wear throughout the day, as well as easy to apply! It’s also great to apply slight for a lighter colour, or heavier for a stronger colour payoff. I always go for the latter!

It’s meant to be a matte lip paint and due to the cream texture it sort of is, especially when it’s dried down a little. For a matte lip products it’s certainly comfortable to wear and that is always a bonus!

I find this wears really nice and I only really needed to top it up at work after I’d eaten my lunch. I drink various hot and cold drinks throughout the day now so doing wear tests are better than they used to be in my old job. This still wears well though even after various hot drinks.

This isn’t a liquid lipstick and won’t outlast a kiss test! This will transfer and the sight on my work mug (which is Adventure Time! :P) was crazy! This didn’t affect the colour though, which was great news to me.

This removes really well and just needs a baby wipe to remove, or just your make up remover. I have used Vaseline and baby wipes before, but either way it won’t leave a stain behind or your lips feeling sore, which is always a winner!

I do love Nude-Ist as it’s the perfect autumn and winter shade! I can honestly see me wearing this loads when the weather is colder due to how comfortable it is to wear. I also love how it’s not an “in your face” shade, but shows off my love for purple lipsticks!

As I always do (in traditional There Might Be Coffee fashion…) I’m showing off what the product looks like will full coverage, as well as what it looks like when it’s worn down.

With full coverage

With full coverage (my favourite picture! :D)

Worn down

I don’t know if I’d pick up anymore of these lip paints however, I’d definitely repurchase this shade but I think I would only pick it up in store if it had a secure wrapper on it. I don’t trust to buy another and for it to have been possibly used.

After reviewing this I really want to wear it tonight now, but I don’t think I can be bothered… As lazy as that is! 😛

Have you tried any of the L’Oreal lip paints? If so what did you think of them? Which shades do you have or want? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time take care all and I hope you have an awesome weekend.

October Favourites ’17

It’s definitely and rapidly becoming my favourite time of year! It’s getting darker earlier now, we get an “extra hour” in bed, Halloween was yesterday, Bonfire Night is over the weekend AND Christmas is going to be here before we know it.

It’s a new month, November at that which can only mean one thing, it’s time for a new favourites post. It also means Christmas is looming, AHH! 😀

Let’s just jump straight into this months favourites.

  • Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo.

I picked this shampoo up not long after I got back from holiday. I knew I was short of the Liz Earle shampoo I use so went to order some more, only to find out that Boots doesn’t appear to be stocking it anymore! I know I can get it elsewhere… But at £10 a bottle I wanted to try and pick something up a little lighter on my monies. This was definitely cheaper and it’s amazing for the price too! I’ve found it’s really helped my hair stay cleaner for longer, as well as look and feel soft and healthy. The Liz Earle one did too, but I just felt like it didn’t leave my hair feeling as clean as this one does! It also carries a gorgeous coconut scent which reminds me of Fuerteventura.

  • Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT.

I’ve owned this perfume quite a while now and when I first bought it I loved it, but after a while I fell out of love with it… I found that whilst it smelt amazing, due to it being a toilette that the scent wouldn’t last as long as I wanted it to. This being said it’s also really nice to use a light perfume and it’s one I wore to work one day and it’s just stuck in my handbag since. I’ll probably end up switching it up soon, as I always tend to do, but I am trying to use up some of my older perfumes so I can make way for any new ones I wish to try.

  • Nails Inc Rainbow Wishes Nail Polish.

This is one part of the Unicorn Nail Polish Duo Kit and although I love both shades just as much, I prefer this one out of the two. I love wearing it on my weekends off of work as it looks so pretty without being over the top. I think I’ll wear this Bonfire Night alongside the other shade from the duo.

  • Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Paint in shade Pop Up (review here).

I haven’t worn my Barry M lip paints much since buying them, which is a shame as they’re actually amazing! My mental health hasn’t been too great towards the end of October so to try and cheer myself up I wore this shade quite a lot and I forgot what a gorgeous cherry red it is! I know I’m going to wear the hell out of it throughout the festive period!

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream.

Ages ago when these shower creams first came out I made sure to stock up on them whilst the were a £1 each and after stocking up on those I bought LOADS of other shower cream/gel. Finally those are all gone and used and I can start using this amazing chocolate shower cream again. These are some of my favourite shower creams to use as they smell and even look like melted milk chocolate. Not only does it smell amazing but it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth all day long. I really recommend these shower creams in all of the scents!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Stranger Things.

As many people will know season 2 of Stranger Things came out under a week ago and everyone has gone crazy for it, including me and Dane! As soon as it went live on Netflix me and Dane started to watch it. We got the new season completed in just 2 days and it is AMAZING! I didn’t know what to expect from watching the trailers and I didn’t really think much about it. Only when we watched it was I trying to constantly guess what was going on. At one point towards the end of the season I was shouting at the character(s), you know, as you do. 😛 I just enjoyed it so much and I already can’t wait for season 3… Which sounds like it’s already been announced.

Favourite Film – The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda).

This was a film Dane had told me about and we watched it one of the days in October. I can safely said I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and would gladly watch again! It’s about a girl who loves to talk and talks loads, which ends up getting her into some “trouble”. She is cursed after this and whenever she talks after she feels like she needs to be sick. From there she becomes part of a school project which involves music, which also seems to help her find her voice and start to talk again. I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to give anything away! It’s an amazing anime film and one you should watch if you love films such as A Silent Voice or Your Name.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I actually don’t know why I have this option on here anymore as I don’t seem to read these days! I feel bad for not reading, but I feel like all I do lately is write my blog, watch random films and shows and play games. Reading hasn’t really factored into it lately. I really want to start reading manga again however! I have loads of K-ON! that I need to read! November will definitely be the month of starting to read again. 😛

Favourite Song/Album – Saliva – Back Into Your System

This is an album I actually listened to earlier on in the week when driving my car and I always forget how much I love it. It’s by far one of my favourite albums and whenever I listen to it it cheers me up so much. I’ve had a crappy couple of months recently so to listen to this album before and even after some good news it’s made me very happy. This is the song that introduced me to Saliva and due to that it’s my favourite of theirs, as well as from this album.

Favourite Game – South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

I can’t believe how long I had to wait for this game to come out, but it has definitely been worth it! I’m surprised I haven’t finished it yet to be honest but this is due to various reasons, Netflix being the main one. 😛 It’s nothing like the first game in my opinion and if anything it’s way better! There just feels like there’s more to do and it already feels like there’s more game play as well which is amazing. I just can’t wait to finish it! I intend to play loads Friday when I finish work as well as over the weekend.

So those were my favourites from October! I still can’t believe we’re into November now, the year is still going by way too quickly and it creeps me out.

Not only is Christmas and New Year next month, but my birthday will be the month after and I can’t believe I’ll be 28!

I’m excited for all those things to come however! So what were your favourites from October? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had an awesome Halloween.

July Favourites ’17

Woohoo it’s getting closer to my holiday now which is really exciting! July went by super quick to be honest and it took me ages to remember what happened throughout the month, let alone what products I was loving. 😛

Finally I came up with some beauty products I loved, but it wasn’t easy! This also includes my non beauty favourites too!

  • NSPA Fruits Blueberry Shower and Bath Gel.

This has been a shower gel I’ve really enjoyed using throughout the month, which I’m sure you can tell from the fact that it’s pretty much empty now! I reviewed this shower gel as well as two others here a month or two ago. Blueberry scented things are a definite must have for me, as it’s my favourite fruit! Also you can’t go wrong if the colour blue or purple comes with it too. This shower and bath gel has a light but fragrant scent to it and it’s really refreshing too, which makes it a perfect shower and bath gel to use throughout the summer. I mostly used this as a shower gel, but occasionally I did also use it in the bath which created some lovely soft bubbles. I have the strawberry one to use up next!

  • L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Face Mask.

This is a face mask I have really been loving using since I bought it and in a short period of time I have noticed such a huge difference to my skin! It’s made me really happy! I broke out so badly towards the end of July and I was gutted, but after using this mask again it really did help calm my skin down and pretty much make my spots go away in a matter of days. I cannot recommend this face mask enough to people with spot prone skin and oily skin. You can read my review for it here!

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in Vamped Up.

You know when you rediscover a lip product you used to love? Yeah I did this  in July with this gorgeous purple lip paint! It’s one of my favourite purple lipsticks I own and it’s also one of the best types of lipstick to apply to! Granted due to the dark purple shade you need to use a lip liner with it. I wore it out for a day of shopping with Dane and popped some blue highlighter on the top to give it a pop of colour! I love the combination so damn much! I’ll definitely be packing this lipstick with me for my holiday as I really want to recreate the look whilst I’m in Fuerteventura!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Cooling Foot Rescue.

Now as weird as it’ll sound I haven’t just been using this on my feet, but I’ve been mostly using this on my hands. I’ve heard of people saying they use it on their hands when they’re in need of some series TLC and I never got why. Now I do! I gave it a go randomly when my hands were really sore and dry and since then after using this daily before work my hands have really thanked me for it. They’re lovely and soft and to be fair after using my hands smell minty and gorgeous! Can’t go wrong with that. I’ve also been using this on both mine and Dane’s feet to keep them lovely and soft. I want to try and keep my feet looking good before the holiday! 😛

  • Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb EDP.

This is by far one of my favourite perfumes I own (it’s in my top 10) and it’s one I go back to once in a while. It’s one of those scents that just smells really good and is one that will get heads turning if someone walks past you with it on. I like to think that happens when I wear it in all fairness. 😛 It’s more of a winter scent for myself but I don’t know, I just fancied wearing it one day last month and it stuck for over a week. I try not to use it too much though considering it’s one of my favourites. I want to use my least favourite scents up first! 😛

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Preacher and One Punch Man.

Holy shit I have so much to say about Preacher! It’s a show I wasn’t sure I would like last year when me and Dane started watching it, but it’s fast turned into a show I adore. To be honest what got me to watch it was when Dane told me that Joseph Gilgun was in it as an Irish vampire. Was instantly hooked. 😛 For those of you who don’t know who Gilgun is, he’s in the gif above as his character in Preacher, Cassidy. He’s always Woody in This Is England and Ruddy in Misfits, as well as many more TV shows and films. I’ll pop a synopsis here because it’ll explain it better than I could. 😛

Fulfilling a promise to his deceased father, one-time outlaw Jesse Custer returns home to West Texas to take over his dad’s church. Jesse’s mission, however, becomes twisted when his body is overcome by a cryptic force that unleashes within him a highly unconventional power. Together with hell-raising ex-girlfriend Tulip and Irish vagabond Cassidy, the preacher-in-training embarks on a journey to find God in a world inhabited by holy, hellish, and everything-in-between characters. The darkly comedic “Preacher” is based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s popular 1990s comic book franchise of the same name. Executive producers include Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”), and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (“Superbad,” “Neighbors”).

It’s an amazing show based off of a comic book and if you’re up for watching a show with some dark humour and some talented British/Irish actors then I recommend you watch it! It’s only available on Amazon Prime however as it’s an exclusive for there, but it’s definitely worth buying alone to watch the show for a month or two.

Dane recently bought the One Punch Man blu-ray so OF COURSE we  had to binge watch it! I was never really into One Punch Man when the “craze” around it started, but I remember Dane putting it on for us to watch online and I loved it! So it was somewhat nostalgic when re watching it. We watched it originally not long after moved into the house so it reminds me of that time. I love the gif above of Saitama dancing. SO KAWAII!!!

Favourite Film – Spider-Man: Homecoming.

I was so excited about seeing this film because in comparison to the two previous Spider-Men I actually had high hopes for this one. I’ll say it, Tom Holland did an amazing job as Peter Parker and it’s just how I would have imagined back in 2003 when I was playing the PlayStation Spider-Man game. I just loved the movie so much, but not enough to get all die hard fan about it. I’m glad we went to watch it a few days after it came out too. We made a proper late night movie date night with it, which I loved. I can’t wait for Venom to come out now, I hope Tom Hardy does the part too. This is going to be an exciting part of Marvel!

Favourite Book – Your Name manga and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga.

I said last month how I hadn’t been reading much, and that certainly wasn’t a lie. This month however I haven’t read LOADS but I’ve read more! I finished off the first volume of Your Name and I honestly can’t wait for volume 2 to come out in November!

As well as that I’ve continued on with reading the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid series and I’m currently reading volume 3. I guess I’m trying to make my manga last as long as I possibly can. I still have K-ON! to read, which I was trying to save for holiday but I doubt I will now. I’ve also started to buy the Persona 3 manga series so I’ll be reading those as soon as I can get my hands on the rest of them!

Favourite Song/Album – Flyleaf New Horizons.

You know when you forget all about a band you love? Well I did that recently with Flyleaf. They’re a band I discovered during my final year of university and have followed them for almost 10 years now. My favourite album is definitely New Horizons due to how the songs all sound. You have a mixture of dancey songs in there as well as serious. I just find I love all the songs and I don’t even want to skip one to hear another. My favourite song from the album has to be… “Bury Your Heart”. Either that or “Stand”. That being said though I love all the songs off of the album.

Favourite Game – Persona 5…

YES PERSONA 5 IS STILL MY FAVOURITE. FUCK YOU! 😛

I’m sorry but yes I am still playing this game as I’m 1. taking my time playing it because I want it to last as long as humanly possible and 2. I fucking love it. I honestly haven’t loved a game for years and I am relishing in it right now. I have bought Persona 4 Golden to play when I’m on holiday and I can see me buying another Persona game on my PS Vita in the future. SPEAKING OF! I bought a PS Vita at the start of the month when I got paid and it’s definitely something I am so glad I bought. It means if I want to play Persona 5 when Dane wants to play on his Xbox One I can just pop it on the Vita. It’s amazing quality too, which makes me happy.

Now I’ve spoken about it I must go and play it… 😛

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and here’s to another month!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paints in Genie, Neptune and Unicorn – Review

L-R: Genie, Neptune and Unicorn

Wow this post has been sitting in my drafts for God knows how many months now… SINCE MARCH! Oh jeez… That’s when I bought Neptune to be honest.

Top-Bottom: Genie, Neptune and Unicorn

There are now three of these colour changing lip paints by Barry M and although I love my liquid lipsticks and MAC lipsticks equally I really do love these lip paints. The first lip paint Genie is one of the first lipsticks I bought and started wearing daily and it’s from this that I found my love of wearing lipsticks, especially dark pink shades. It wasn’t called Genie back then though and instead was called, “touch of magic” lip paint. Genie works better. 😛

If I’m known for one thing it’s my lipstick. Although my lips haven’t been in the best shape lately, I always usually have lipstick on, whether it’s liquid or a normal creamy one. As I mentioned before when I first started wearing bright lipsticks, the Barry M green lipstick was the one I wore the most. I loved it so much I wore it down to a nub! I remember the packaging was all black too, not colour coordinated like it is now. I definitely prefer the packaging now to back then.

So I thought why not review all of these lip paints? They’re all amazing, perfect for summer as they work like a stain as well as being a colour changing and unique shade to you.

I’ll do them in the order they were released, so the first one I’ll be reviewing is Genie!

Genie is the first shade that came out and goes on green and turns into a hot pink shade. I’ll pop a bit about it from the official Barry M website.

It’s green but magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink. It does this by adapting to the Alkaline in your lips. In other words, every person is different and every look is unique! Genie lasts for eight hours too so you can achieve an all-day custom kiss that’s all your own (Genie is an improved formulation of Barry M’s popular ‘Touch of Magic’ lip paint.)

I know a lot of brands claim that your lipstick will last for 8-12 hours, but this ACTUALLY does! I feel like it’s more of a stain than a long lasting lipstick, which I love! Due to this I feel like you can apply various coats of it and it’ll help it last longer, as well as create a darker shade which of course is good.

FYI this is my favourite picture of the bunch and one of my favourites I’ve taken of myself since my blog profile picture! :’)

Genie is green and goes on as a hot pink shade. It’s one of my favourite shades out of the three due to how vibrant the colour looks and due to that it can be worn all year around.

I first bought Genie (well touch of magic!) back in 2009/2010 when I first started getting into wearing bright coloured lipsticks. My mom loved it too and bought one at the same time as me. She still uses it to this day like myself, which just goes to show what an amazing product it is!

It’s from Genie doing so well over the years that I can only imagine encouraged Barry M to create not one, but two more colour changing lip paints to add to the collection!

At the end of March 2017 they decided to release a second shade, Neptune which is what I’ll be talking about next.

Neptune is a blue lipstick that turns a raspberry pink/purple shade when applied to the lips. Although Genie will always hold a place in my heart, this is a shade I adore due to it being near to being purple. I LOVE purple lipsticks so much!

Neptune, a magical new sibling for Barry M’s signature Genie Lip Paint. Neptune is blue… but turns lips a miraculous, personal shade of dark pink! Like Genie, Neptune reacts to the Alkaline of lips, creating a unique shade for everyone. Neptune also stays put for up to eight hours so it’s magically long lasting too!

My only problem with Neptune is I find sometimes when applying it to the lips the blue shade will stay around a while and I’ll have to use my finger to blend the lip paint into my lips a little more to help create that gorgeous raspberry pink/purple shade.

Like Genie this does last a long time on the lips and the more you apply the darker the shade will become. I would say it’s more of a raspberry pink shade than purple, but I sometimes feel I apply so much it becomes purple more than anything.

All of the colour changing lip paints are really comfortable to wear on the lips and I always find myself applying lip balm over them to keep my lips hydrated. This doesn’t affect the colour at all, which is great!

Finally we have the newest edition to the colour changing lip paint family! Unicorn was released recently at the end of May for Barry M’s 35th birthday!

This of course is the last colour changing lip paint I’ll be writing about on this post.

Following on from the magic of Genie & Neptune, Unicorn is the latest launch in Barry M’s family of beaut magical Lip Paints! This time yellow magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink.

Like Genie Unicorn is a lip paint that turns into a light pink shade, but it’s originally yellow! This isn’t as dark a pink as either Genie or Neptune, it’s more of a light soft pink which I really like for the summer months when you don’t want to wear a heavy or strong lip colour.

I was hesitant to pick this up when I first heard about it a couple of weeks ago because of it being pink. My first thought was, “But you already have a pink shade… Why make another?” I mean I’m surprised Barry M didn’t go for a coral colour to coincide with the summer.

This being said this is a lighter pink than Genie and it’s gorgeous! I love it and I can’t wait to wear it more over the summer here.

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but these don’t really have much of a scent. If anything it reminds me of aloe vera, that sort of refreshing smell. I really like it but I’m glad it isn’t strong otherwise it might have put me off.

Overall I LOVE these lip paints and I don’t think any other high street beauty brand in the UK will be able to pull it off and say it’s a unique idea.

These cost £4.99 each and are worth EVERY PENNY. If you have never tried these before and want to then get on it! Boots currently have 3 for 2 on Barry M, so you could get all of these if you wanted to.

If you want to read more about them or have a look on the official Barry M website, then here is the link for that.

What do you think of the Barry M colour changing lip paints? Do you own any or want to own any? If you own any what shade(s) and if you want any which shade(s) would you like to pick up?

I hope you enjoyed this review, I’ve really missed doing them lately! My lips are really sore still and due to this I couldn’t even take pictures the day of writing this review. BUT that was actually due to allergies, which still sucks. 😛

ANYWAYS… Until next time, take care all.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Paints and Lip Kit – Reviews

To date although I have reviewed many liquid lipsticks (which you can check out here) I haven’t yet reviewed one which is from the high street. They’re usually by indie or high end brands. So this definitely makes a change and I was pleasantly surprised by these beauties.

A few weeks ago I ventured into Boots to pick up one of the new Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit’s after hearing about them on their Instagram page. I swatched all three shades to see what they were like and ended up falling in love with the one shade, Runway. The lip kits come in three limited edition shades including Runway, Pose and Go To.

Runway lip liner

Runway liquid lipstick

Runway, the shade that I opted for is a gorgeous dusky rose pink colour and is a lovely alternative to a nude pink shade. I’m a massive fan of my darker shades so this is a lovely shade to opt down to if I don’t want anything dark, but nothing too light either. It’s a shade I can see me wearing more during the warmer months due to it being a warm shade.

The lip kits are like the Kylie ones where you get a liquid lipstick and a lip liner and I have to say it is such a shame these are only limited edition!

The lip liner for Runway is beautiful and creamy for a pencil but this being said I think Barry M do the best lip liners out there. This matches the colour of Runway perfectly and is one I’ll be using with other lipsticks, both normal and liquid. It glides on easily with no dragging and is comfortable to wear on its own without the liquid lip liner.

Before I talk more about the formula I also want to talk about two more shades from the permanent range of the Matte Me Up range. There are five shades to choose from, Paparazzi, On The Scene, Minimalist, Pop Up and Embellish. I picked up the latter two.

Pop Up is a dark pink/red shade which reminds me of cherries. It is a lovely alternative to a hot pink or even a vintage red shade. This will look great all year around.

Embellish is a purple shade and one that isn’t too dark, nor too light which I really like. I’ve never owned a purple shade that sits in between which makes a nice change. It reminds me of the Yankee Candle Vineyard grape due to the shade. I wore it yesterday and I definitely turned heads…

SO enough of the shades, what about the formulation? Well I wrote down some pros and cons of these liquid lipsticks and the majority of them were pro. Woohoo just what I want!

These don’t have a thick consistency and are actually on the watery side, but that doesn’t stop their pigmentation from being perfect. Due to the consistency of these it means a little bit of this goes a long way when applying. Majority of the time I won’t dip back into the tube to get more product, but if I do it’s because I just want to.

I worried due to how good their lasting time is that they wouldn’t come off very easily. I’ve had this with liquid lipsticks in the past and they’ve caused my lips to be really sore during wear and when removing. These are hard to get off in the sense of smudging. They don’t smudge easily and due to this they’re just as hard to remove with make up removers, UNLESS they contain oil! This isn’t a bad thing to be honest. It means your liquid lipstick shade of choice isn’t going to come off in a hurry.

These don’t really have any scent to them. I even asked Dane if he could smell anything as I couldn’t work it out myself. In the end we both agreed that they do have some sort of creamy sweet scent mixed with a slight chemical scent… This being said they’re pretty scentless when applying to the lips and when I say chemical, I don’t mean in your face. Only if you keep smelling them like me and Dane did. 😛

Like all liquid lipsticks these don’t like anything with oil in, so greasy food is a no no with these! After having some lunch with Dane on Sunday I needed to reapply Embellish which wasn’t a problem. I did of course worry that this wouldn’t be easy to reapply but alas it was fine and didn’t look any different afterwards, which I was very happy about.

What else makes me happy about these liquid lipsticks is the price! The permanent shades are all £4.99 each, whilst the three limited edition lip kits are £6.99 each. A complete bargain in comparison to what people pay f0r the Kylie lip kits!

Although the shade selections are great I do wish they had brought out some more unique shades, like black, grey, some brown shades (even though I don’t like them…) and some other shades too. I would so buy a black shade if they brought one out!

Something I wish Barry M had of done is release lip liners for ALL the shades, as the Runway one is amazing and it is such a shame it’s only limited edition for 3 shades. They should have done it with them all!

I’ve already covered about how hard these are to remove and whilst that isn’t a bad thing, it’s also not a great thing for me to be honest. I like to be able to remove something fairly easy when I’ve had enough of it. I need to buy myself some more oil based make up remover that’s for sure!

Of course I’ve shown all these off of course on myself so you can get an idea of what they look like on my yellow skin tone.

Overall I LOVE these liquid lipsticks and they’re definitely a winner for me! I want to pick up more shades, even though I don’t need them… I’ve already decided I’ll be buying most of these for my mom for Mother’s Day as she’s recently gotten into liquid lipstick so I know she’ll love these!

If you’re a newbie to liquid lipsticks or don’t want to pay through the teeth for one, definitely give these a go ESPECIALLY whilst they have their limited edition lip kits out! They’re well worth the money.

Do you think you’ll try these babies out? If so which shade(s) do you think you’ll be picking up?  Hey, have you already tried these? If so make sure to let me know what you think of them in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

September ’16 Favourites

I read the other day that there are now only 12 Monday’s left until Christmas. DAYUM! September is now over and I am gutted. It’s my favourite month for various reasons so I am sad to say goodbye to it for another year.

Autumn is now upon us and I am super excited for darker days, chilly evenings and an excuse for drinking nothing but hot chocolate!

So before I talk about why I love autumn (we shall save that for another post!) I better get on with what my favourites were for the month.

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream

This is probably my favourite thing from this month as it is just a perfect bog standard shower cream. I picked this up on a food shop when it was on offer for a £1 in Morrisons and I regret not buying a couple of them now considering they’ve gone up to £2.20! Due to us finishing the product sadly the bottle has now gone, but I’ve inserted a picture above so you get an idea of what it looks like. It’s a thick shower cream and due to this it foams up lovely in a sponge and a little goes a long way. Like pretty much all Palmolive shower creams this leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, as well as smelling beautiful! This doesn’t smell like a horrible artificial chocolate scent, it smells creamy and yummy. They also came out with a vanilla and strawberry version. I can see us stocking up on this as soon as we see it at a decent price again.

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in shade Vamped Up

Over the past year I have really gotten into my darker shades and I feel like most shades I buy now are either dark red, pink or purple. Of course when I eyed up these new lip paints by Maybelline it was either the red or the purple shade, I obviously picked up the latter. My mom actually told me about these and they are amazing! So pigmented and last ages. I wear this with a lip liner for both work and social and I love it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it throughout autumn and winter this year.

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream

I remember buying this bath cream for Dane as he loves the shower cream. I’m always having Lush baths in the house and although he doesn’t like taking baths often I wanted to get him something nice that he can use whenever he does fancy having one. You know what? I’ve been using this bath cream more than he has! I even picked up a bottle when I recently stayed in Chichester for a week and used it a couple of times. It creates lovely fluffy bubbles and is strong enough in scent that you can smell it on you hours later. Sadly the shower cream isn’t as good as that. I picked this up for a £1 in both Boots and Sainsburys so it’s a complete bargain!

  • Forever Young By Jean Pierre Pore Control Green Tea Facial Mask

I picked these up recently from Homesense on a whim that they sounded good, were cheap and the fact I’m obsessed with sheet masks these days! I took one with me to Chichester and used one when I came back too. These aren’t as great as the Korean sheet masks but for the price they’re a really nice treat that you can have more often. I decided to get the pore control ones so that both myself and Dane could give them a go. I don’t have big pores, but I do like to keep them clear is possible. I also love anything with green tea which is nice. I used these after scrubbing my face so that all the goodness from the mask can get into my skin. When it’s been a little warmer the past month these have been really nice to use. I recommend them!

  • Paco Rabbane Lady Million EDP

I’ve owned this perfume for quite a long time since my mom gave it to me. It reminds me of fluffy towels and freshly washed bedding, which I find really comforting. I’ve been wearing it for work various times throughout the month and it’s been a really nice transitioning scent from summer to autumn. It’s nice and strong too and I always get compliments on it which is always good.

So those were my favourites from September! Nothing mind blowing, although there were a few newbies on here.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!

Big Beauty Haul

 photo Photo 12-09-2016 2 55 31 pm_zps8vwc0jn6.jpg

Why do I always do this? Say I’ll save money and then spend it as soon as payday comes. Oh dear.

Saturday me and Dane popped out to buy some stuff for the house and as we always do when we have to make a shopping trip like that we pop to Homesense, because Homesense is amazing!

I ended up spending quite a lot of money in the beauty section there as well as at Boots.

So I decided to show you all what I bought as there are some real gems in this haul. Enjoy!

As well as Homesense I also popped into Boots as well as The Body Shop for some freebies.

I picked up so many sheet masks when I was in Homesense… I could have easily picked up more but I had to watch my money. I picked up three Tony Moly masks, two avocado and one red wine. I’ve got a couple of these masks already (tea tree, lemon and aloe vera). These cost £1.99 each… Which wasn’t cheap in my eyes as I’ve bought these before for a £1 each. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I also picked up some by a brand called Forever Young. These are in the green tea pore control version but they had quite a few different types. I settled on these as Dane has big pores, I love green tea and these will help to calm down my oily t-zone. You get five of these in a packet and they cost £4.99 so these seem more reasonable than the price of the Tony Moly ones.

Another Koren beauty item I picked up is the Etude House lip gel patch. I have heard about these time and time again over the past couple of years and have always wanted to try it out for myself. So when I saw two of these up for grabs I knew I had to pick them both up. As I’m writing this blog post I currently have one on my lips. It feels like jelly and surprisingly sticks onto the lips fairly easy. It smells of sweet cherries and you can really feel it working. I left it on for 20 minutes and it left my lips feeling lovely and soft! These cost me £1.99 each which isn’t cheap. I’ll look on eBay for these in future!

The next two things I picked up are by a brand called Caim & Able who are an Australian beauty brand. I picked up one of their bath salts and body scrubs. They had a couple of different ones in stock but I had my eyes on these two. The bath salts are coconut and lime which sounds right up my street! I love things like this so I’m really excited to use this soon! It’ll be lovely to use before going out in the daytime on my days off work. The body scrub is clementine and coffee and I LOVE coffee body scrubs! They’re great for cellulite which is what I’ll be using this for. These cost £7.99 each, I don’t think you can pick them up in the UK. If I love these I’ll be making sure to review them.

The final thing I picked up from Homesense was something for Dane. It’s some ingrown eliminating pads by Bliss. He’s always having problems with ingrown hairs on his face so I picked these up for him to try. If they’re any good I may have to steal a couple myself to try. These are meant to cost £28.00 but I picked them up for £5.99.

My next stop (as I mentioned) was Boots as well as The Body Shop for my freebie face mask samples. I got two which are British Rose and Ethiopian Honey. These will be exciting to try soon.

In Boots I picked up a couple of things I needed, as well as a couple of treats too. I needed some new hand wash for the bathroom and I really love the Baylis and Harding ones as they keep my hands looking and feeling soft and smooth. This is in the scent eton mess and although I am not a fan of the dessert I love the smell of this! It’s making me feel all Christmassy as well which is always good! This was just over £2.00.

I repurchased another bottle of my favourite shampoo which is the botanical shine shampoo by Liz Earle. It’s sulfate free and only costs £10! You get 200ml which isn’t loads but it lasts me a good couple of months which suits me fine. I love this stuff and as it’s for all hair types anyone can use it.

I got a couple of make up items too, including a clear mascara which by Collection which I used on my eyebrows to keep them in place. This is cheap as anything at £1.99 and it lasts months! As well as that I also picked up two Maybelline items as they were on buy one get one half price. I picked up the new baby lips shade in chai tea latte. I’m not a fan of the Starbucks drink but these smells delicious! Really warm and comforting, perfect for autumn which is looming. It’s a dark red shade like burgundy but when applied to the lips it looks a dark pink almost raspberry shade. I know I’ll be wearing this loads for the rest of the year. My final purchase was one my mom told me about and encouraged me to buy, which is one of Maybelline’s new lip products called colour drama intense lip paint. I picked up the shade vamped up which is an intense dark purple. I applied a little bit to my lips and it looks and feels amazing! This is definitely a product you can work with as with the more you apply the more intense the colour pay off gets! I can’t wait to wear this throughout autumn and winter.

So that was what I picked up over the weekend! I’m meant to be saving money, which I will be doing now.

What have you been buying recently? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
