Romantic Bear WOW Long Lasting Lip Color – Review

I wasn’t sure what to write about on my blog today, I’m not going to lie! I feel like I’ve had a bit of writers block but I haven’t at the same time… It’s weird! I know one thing though, that I wanted to get a review written but at the same time I wasn’t 100% sure on quite what I wanted to review.

Then it hit me! I’ve been meaning to review my Korean beauty peel off lip stains for AGES, since I got them last year in fact, but every time I went to something happened.

I wanted to ideally do a comparison post between two different brands, but that would have taken forever and I said, something always happened to stop me from doing that or having time to at least do that.

To be honest with you, I also wanted to show each shade on my lips but sadly that would also take too long to do and I wanted to get this review done sooner rather than later! Especially when I’m loving using these so much lately and want to share that! Applying each colour and then scrubbing it off to apply the next would be havoc for my lips. Due to this, there won’t be any lip swatch style pictures on this review. However, I will be showing how all the shades look on my arm, so that’s better than nothing, isn’t it?

Without further ado, review time!

I got these lip tattoos last year from Amazon. I bought two different brands, Berrisom and the brand I’ll be reviewing today, Romantic Bear.

I wanted to talk about the Romantic Bear ones first as I found they were the better ones out of the two, but after I review this and the Berrisom ones I’ll be comparing them both on a separate post, so keep eyes peeled for all those posts!

I first picked up one of these at Birmingham Anime and Gaming Con back in 2016 for £2 and I picked up the shade Sexy Red. I used it for ages and fell in love so ordered myself all 6 in a pack. The new Sexy Red I received I gave to my friend Gabriella to have a go with!

These didn’t cost much to be honest and were so damn cheap! For 6 shades they only cost me about £3 with postage. They took a couple of weeks to arrive, but they were worth the wait! Sadly, I’ve since checked Amazon to see how much they’re going for and it’s just over £10 for 6. I’m sure eBay will be a cheaper option as I have a feeling these came from China. I’ll make sure to link some places at the end of this post for where you can get some yourself if you want to.

I’ve found that Romantic Bear is a “knock off” version of some higher Korean beauty brands, in this instance I think these are a copy of the Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack product.

From top to bottom: Sweet Orange, Lovely Peach, Watermelon, Rose Pink, Sexy Red and Cherry Red.

So, down to the product! You get 6 shades in a pack which are Sweet Orange, Lovely Peach, Watermelon, Rose Pink, Sexy Red and Cherry Red.

If you haven’t heard of peel off lip stains before, then don’t worry I will explain!

Due to this being a peel off lip product it’s VERY gloopy and when you first try using them it can be very messy and on the fiddly side. This is completely normal! I know in the past when these first became a trend people would use a lip brush to apply these, but I personally found that that made it even harder to apply them, so I gave up on that idea very fast.

These have an applicator on the end like what you would get with a lip gloss which made it somewhat easy to apply. I don’t have an issue myself when applying these myself but I have found that the applicator could be smaller so that people with thinner lips or people who want to make sure to get an even definition on their top lip can.

When I say they’re gloopy, it is pretty much like glue and it kind of is really. Sometimes it’ll get stuck on the applicator itself and dry, so will need to be peeled off. This can be pretty satisfying to do! 😛

Avoid getting it into your mouth if you can for a couple of reasons. 1. Depending on the colour it cane make it look like your gums are bleeding and 2. It tastes DISGUSTING! It doesn’t have a scent either, it just tastes vile really and nothing polite. It can be ignored though and the amount of times it’s happened to me. It’s not nice but it’s tolerable.

On the tube itself there isn’t any directions of how long to leave the product to set. I had seen people post online that they’d left them for 5-10 minutes but this entirely depends to be honest. It depends how much or how little you apply.

Sweet Orange applied to the back of my hand. This is straight after application.

When applying on the lips the product can sometimes come out quickly so a lot of mess can ensue, as well as cause more of an application to be made than what was wanted. This can cause drying down time to increase, which I’ll go into.

Sweet Orange drying down, almost ready to peel off!

I personally leave these to dry down for a max of 15 minutes. I like to apply them last thing in my beauty regime so that I can go and do bits and pieces before going out. Such as have the loo, maybe do some washing up, possibly text some people. Anything where you won’t have to use your lips.

Sweet Orange being peeled off.

After 15 minutes you can sometimes feel if dry as it will begin to shrivel up and come away form the edges. It will also feel a little tight too. You’ll know when the middle is dry too as you peel away, but you can always have a tap with your finger to see for yourself.

Gross little peel! This goes straight into the bin! 😛

After peeling off you’ll sometimes be left with a little residue, which I find can be easily removed by dabbing some tissue on those parts. I’ve found with rubbing it can remove the colour, which you obviously don’t want!

When removing this I find that whilst a make up remover can help, just a normal baby wipe can help too with some Vaseline on it.

Excuse all the swatches! Sweet Orange colour left behind, which as you can see is a beautiful Tango orange colour!

This is said to wear for up to 12 hours, do I think it does? No, not really! It does also depend however on what type of food you’re eating. I drink a lot of hot drinks during my shifts at work so these stains can wear off very fast.

After applying them I always apply some Vaseline or any lip balm really over the top to keep my lips lovely and soft.

These have recently become my favourite lip product to use on a daily basis as they’re so comfortable to wear, won’t  leave any marks behind and last long enough to make you satisfied.

Due to the way you have to apply this product it’s not really something you can use on the go, unless you don’t care about looking weird for a max of 15 minutes! I’d use this at work but I don’t want people wondering what’s wrong with me. 😛 That and I have to answer phones so it wouldn’t really be convenient!

Overall, what do I think of these? First of all I love all the colour choices you get BUT the lightest shades are pretty poor in colour if you like a strong colour, like I do. My least favourite shade from the bunch definitely has to be Sweet Orange. It’s such an ugly colour! This being said though the pigment is amazing! My favourite shade is a toss between Watermelon and Cherry Red.

For the £3 I paid for these at the time they were definitely worth the money! Even that for each one would be worth the money in my mind as they’re really good quality for how cheap they are!

Do you think you’d give the Romantic Bear lip stains a go? Or have you already given the peel off lip stains a try? Make sure to let me know in the comment!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely week!

August Favourites ’17

YAY SEPTEMBER! Oh my I have been so excited for this month to roll around. Apart from the holiday this is always my month of the year where I try to get a fresh start in order. I’ll try and do a blog post about this before I go on holiday.

This past months favourites has been so hard to do as I really had to have a good think about what products I was loving. Obviously I came up with my 5 items for the month but it wasn’t easy!

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

This is a shower gel I’ve started using again and I always forget how amazing it is! It’s a massive bottle that my mom gave me not long before me and Dane moved into the house. I stopped using it because I wanted to save it for whenever I fancied using it again. Of course tea tree is antibacterial and due to that I love using this shower gel to help me feel lovely and clean. My anxiety can sometimes make me worry I smell and I’m dirty, even if I’ve just got out of the shower. Bless my mom she recently gave me ANOTHER bottle of this and as you can see from the picture, it’s huge. A 1000ml bottle in fact. So I’ve started using it again. I forgot how refreshing this shower gel is and I love it so damn much!

  • Benefit Gogotint Cheek & Lip Stain (review here).

This was one of my new purchases in July/August and it’s the main lip product I’ve worn throughout the month. It’s so easy to apply and in so many different ways! I love wearing it at work at the moment as it adds a pop of colour in the mornings and I can apply my Vaseline over the top of it without any colour being ruined. This will definitely be worn loads throughout September and especially on holiday. You can read my review to understand more of why it’s on my favourites this month.

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

You know Lush Christmas is looming when I get the Snow Fairy out! I still have a massive 1kg bottle left to break out and use when we’re back from holiday, but for now me and Dane have really been enjoying this one and have used nearly all of it! I forgot how sickly sweet it is and I fucking love it! It’s been a shower gel I’ve used on days off as well as in the bath alongside some of my Lush bubble bars and bath bombs. I’m excited to find out what we’ll be getting for Christmas with Lush!

  • Rimmel London Insta Fix & Matte Powder.

I bought this powder as I needed a new one and this has been everywhere on blogs the past month or two. I’m glad I picked it up as it’s a great powder for the price. All the same however it’s not the best in the world, but it definitely does the job whenever I’m getting ready and popping out. I’ve been using it loads this month and I’m probably going to take it with me on holiday too as it’ll be great to use in the evenings to keep shine away. This doesn’t keep shine away all day, but it will for at least 6 hours.

  • DIOR Addict EDP.

I’ve owned this perfume since I went to Fuerteventura in 2015 and it’s still got loads left in the bottle! I started using this mid August and I actually forgot how much I love the scent. I can’t really describe it to be honest with you. It’s sweet but not a girly, teenage, Britney Spears type scent but more of a mature woman smell. It’s the sort of fragrance that if you will see a business woman wear. 😛 This is a classic and has been around for over 10 years now.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – This Is England 86, 88 and 90.

To say I love This Is England is a massive understatement. I don’t know why but recently I felt the need to watch the TV series from the start to finish. I watched all 11 episodes in probably a day if not two and I fell in love all over again. I didn’t watch the film however. I do have a feeling I felt the urge to watch them due to watching Joseph Gilgun in Preacher recently. Which I am still loving from last month by the way! If you’ve never watched the This Is England series then I seriously suggest you do so asap! You’ll love it more than the film, I guarantee. I just love LOL and Woody so damn much. I wish I had them both as friends.

Favourite Film – Swiss Army Man and To The Bone.

I recently watched these two films thanks to both Amazon and Netflix. Me and Dane have wanted to watch Swiss Army Man for ages but we just never got around to it until we saw it recently being advertised on Amazon Prime. It was all that I could imagine it to be and even more, quite honestly it was weird and amazing and I recommend it for everyone to watch! I’ve had to put a trailer above because I’m pretty sure many haven’t even heard of this film before.

I also recently watched To The Bone, which is about a girl dealing with an eating disorder. It reminds me of a John Green novel and I just fell in love with all of the characters. The film ended and I was left wanting to find out more of what happened! I recommend you watch it if you love films, TV shows and books like this. Something to watch out for is if you have or are currently dealing with an eating disorder then this could trigger you, so please be cautious before watching.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I haven’t read anything this month sadly. I don’t know what it is at the moment but I just haven’t really been reading anything, not even manga. I’m kind of waiting to go on holiday to catch up on reading all my manga at the moment. But I can see me just taking two Bridget Jones books to read.

Favourite Song/Album – K-ON! Soundtrack.

Dane recently bought the soundtrack to K-ON! and that’s pretty much most of what we’ve both been listening to and I actually love it! I can’t wait to listen to these songs when we’re on holiday as they’re just some really happy and go lucky feeling songs. The song I’ve added above is one of the last songs the band create together and it’s the last one we hear on the anime too. It’s the girls goodbye song to the youngest member of the band, Azusa. They’re all leaving to go to college and she’s staying at school for her final year. It’s a very sad song but it’s lovely all the same and is definitely my favourite.

Image taken from weheartit.com

Favourite Game – Persona 5… YES IT STILL IS, GET OVER IT! 😛

Yes I am STILL playing Persona 5 and I don’t give a fuck! Sadly due to how bad my mental health has been throughout August I haven’t been reading nor have I been playing games and it’s purely because I just haven’t had the patience or thought behind doing either of them. Watching films and TV shows has been fine though.

Image taken from weheartit.com

This being said I have been playing Minecraft with Dane quite a lot lately. We both craved a game we could just chill out and play together and Minecraft was the perfect game for this. We’ve played it loads and I forgot how much I love it. We haven’t played it as much though lately, sadly. I’m sure we will again soon.

So those are my favourites from August! It went by really quickly and a part of me is so pleased. I fucking hated August. It was full of stress for me and mind fucks and I’m really hoping that September will bring better things.

I’ll be writing a blog post about that soon. 🙂

What were your favourites throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a great month.

Benefit Gogotint Cheek & Lip Stain – Review

Don’t you just love when you have enough Boots Advantage points to treat yourself to something fancy? I noticed recently that Benefit Cosmetics had added a new lip stain to their ever growing collection and it’s definitely one of the nicest I’ve seen! I was going to be good and wait until me and Dane go on holiday, as I could have picked it up in the airport but I fancied a treat now… 😛 I had nearly £90 worth of points on my Boots card so I decided to treat myself before payday.

I’ve owned this stain for a week now and I am in love with it! I knew I had to review it for you all and compare it to Posie Tint, which I own the mini version of.

If you didn’t know Benefit have a lip stain line which you can use on the cheeks and lips. Before adding the new Gogo shade they had 4 shades in the collection, Gogo makes it 5.

There’s Benetint which is a rose colour and from swatching it in the past on my hand it’s actually my least favourite of all the tints. It’s a water like consistency is really awkward and annoying to work with and due to that I also feel that the colour doesn’t built up much and isn’t very pigmented due to it. I know it’s just a stain and isn’t meant to be pigmented but for the price I don’t feel that Benetint is worth it.

Rant over! 😛 The rest of the lip stains have a gel like texture to them, which is what I love! It’s easy to apply and feels really comfortable on the lips. The other shades include Chachatint which is a mango shade, Lollitint which is a candy-orchid shade and Posietint which is a poppy pink shade.

Of course we have the new shade Gogotint which is a bright cherry shade. Of course this will be the shade I’ll be reviewing today. I found this chart on the official Benefit website so thought I would pop it into this post. I don’t personally feel like it’s accurate though. I wish I had all the shades to swatch for you guys. As I own Posietint I’ll be swatching that alongside Gogotint so you can compare. I’ll probably review it in the future though as I’m hoping to pick it up in the airport before we go on holiday. I currently only own a mini version of Posietint so I’ll take pictures next to my full size of Gogotint for comparison.

Image taken from benefitcosmetics.com

Posietint mini next to full sized Gogotint

The full size of all the Benefit lip stains is 10ml, and the minis which you can buy or get in gift sets are usually 4ml. I got my 4ml mini lip stain from Boots about a year ago for £5.00, which was a complete bargain in my opinion! I don’t think Boots do the lip stain minis anymore, but they do do other minis as well.

ANYWAY! I want to talk about the packaging first. It’s got the typical Benefit retro pin up style to it that they’re so well known for. I love the bottle for Gogotint so damn much! It’s a gorgeous metallic glass bottle in a cherry pink colour to match the colour of the shade itself and a white lid with some detailing on it. I’m sure the detailing on the lid has only been introduced recently. The fact that it’s a glass bottle makes me a little wary and nervous, but I’m sure I wouldn’t damage it in anyway, unless I threw it. 😛

I love the bottle so much as it looks simple, yet expensive and pretty at the same time. However, the one thing I don’t like is not being able to see how much product you have left. It’s kind of a guessing game with these. The only lip stain to be in a clear bottle is Benetint. All the others are in the metallic coloured bottles.

Gogotint brush with product

Gogotint brush without product

Posietint brush

The brush for the Benefit lip stains remind me nail polish brushes. It’s really weird to be honest due to how flexible it is but how fiddly it is at the same time! I’ve struggled a little at times to use it when lining my cupids bow. It’s not too bad really as you can wipe away any mistakes you make, but all in all it is a pain in the arse if you’re in a rush. I find with my mini Posietint that due to the size the brush is a little thicker and therefore easier to use. I do wonder if a lip brush might be worth using when trying to be precise with the full size bottles. Either way I manage. 😛

Now I’ve spoken about the basics of Gogotint, I’ll FINALLY talk about the product itself!

I found a bit about it on the official website and Boots website too:

Brighten up with cherry red lips & cheeks!

Gogotint is the wildest flush you can get from a bottle! Our see-through bright cherry red lip & cheek stain is vibrant, juicy & pops till you drop. You gogo, girl!

• Cherry red lips & cheeks
• Kiss-proof & smudge-proof
• Longwear cheek & lip stain
• Instant pop of color
• Bright, see-through flush of color

Gogo-getter! Too busy for beauty? Never! Brush gogotint cherry red tint on cheeks and lips then blend for a vibrant flush. It only takes 5 seconds! BEAUTY TIP: Thank you CHERRY much! Gogotint’s flush will get you lots of flattery. Not used to all the attention? Just respond “thank you cherry much”…they’ll get the hint!

I had a look around Instagram and YouTube for ages of people swatching and showing off the colour of this so that I could get an idea of whether I would like this colour or not. When I heard it was a cherry red/pink shade I KNEW I would love it. These sorts of pinks are right up my street. I can’t be dealing with light colours. 😛

Dark heart – Gogotint, light heart – Posietint and circle beneath is Gogotint blended out

This really is a bright colour and would actually be a great lip colour for anyone who is wanting to venture over to the dark side of the none nude variety! This in my opinion is the most vibrant and pigmented shade that Benefit have brought out in their lip stain collection to date. I love it!

Wearing Gogotint

Wearing Gogotint

As I’ve already mentioned this has a gel consistency to it and isn’t too thick and isn’t too thin, so it’s perfect for applying. It’s especially great for applying to the centre of your lips for a just bitten look. This is something I have tried somewhat with Gogotint and it looks gorgeous with this shade.

The one thing I really like about this shade is that it’s buildable so you can dab a little on with your finger to create a soft pink shade and look, or apply a couple of coats to really pack a punch with that gorgeous cherry red colour for an alternative pin up girl look.

Wearing Posietint and Gogotint

Wearing Posietint and Gogotint

Wearing Posietint and Gogotint

I have tried both and love them both just as much as the other. I also applied this in the inside of  my lips and then applied Posietint on the outside for a gradient and just bitten look.

I’ve worn both of these at work and they last really well to be honest! I’ll have to top them up when I go for my break (4-6 hours into my shift) but that’s kind of normal to me for something like this. I also use my Vaseline before applying this and making sure to wipe away most of the excess when applying the lip stain. I also use it over the top of the stain throughout the day to keep my lips soft. It doesn’t dry out the lips though and if anything feels comfortable and not like you’re wearing anything on your lips.

I can’t really put my finger on what the scent of this is and it smells exactly the same as Posietint. I don’t want to say a chemical smell because it doesn’t smell like that at all… But it doesn’t smell of anything either… It’s scentless! 😛 It doesn’t smell disgusting, let’s put it that way and it doesn’t smell when you apply it to the lips, which is good.

Of course as the name states, you don’t have to just use this on the lips, you can also use it on your cheeks as a blush. I won’t be doing this but it looks so pretty when blended out!

I tried to test if you can remove this with my Garnier micellar cleansing water and it removed really easily which I was surprised about. This is a little disappointing but at the same time I can’t complain! I’d be moaning about it staining if it didn’t come off. 😛

Wearing Gogotint with a blue highlighter on top

Wearing Gogotint with a blue highlighter on top

Another little thing I like to do with Gogotint is I like to apply a highlight onto my lips to give it a pop of colour! I never thought of doing this before and I’m so chuffed with the outcome, which I’ll show on here of course!

As I always do, here are some picture of me wearing Gogotint alone, with Posietint and of course with the highlighter. Loads of pictures await you!

My overall feelings on Gogotint is that it’s an amazing lip stain and one that I don’t regret buying. If anything it will become one of my go to lipsticks now! I’m definitely going to take it on holiday with me as it’ll be lovely to wear both in the daytime and the evening when going out.

All 5 of the lip stains by Benefit cost £25.50 from both the official Benefit Cosmetics website and Boots. As I mentioned before you get 10ml of product for this price and right now I feel it’s well worth the money as a little bit of the lip stains really does go a long way and of course it’s a 2 in 1 product, you can also use this on your cheeks as a blush!

What do you think of the new lip stain? You like it, or are you not sure? Do you own any of the Benefit lip stains? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’ve had a lovely week so far.

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paints in Genie, Neptune and Unicorn – Review

L-R: Genie, Neptune and Unicorn

Wow this post has been sitting in my drafts for God knows how many months now… SINCE MARCH! Oh jeez… That’s when I bought Neptune to be honest.

Top-Bottom: Genie, Neptune and Unicorn

There are now three of these colour changing lip paints by Barry M and although I love my liquid lipsticks and MAC lipsticks equally I really do love these lip paints. The first lip paint Genie is one of the first lipsticks I bought and started wearing daily and it’s from this that I found my love of wearing lipsticks, especially dark pink shades. It wasn’t called Genie back then though and instead was called, “touch of magic” lip paint. Genie works better. 😛

If I’m known for one thing it’s my lipstick. Although my lips haven’t been in the best shape lately, I always usually have lipstick on, whether it’s liquid or a normal creamy one. As I mentioned before when I first started wearing bright lipsticks, the Barry M green lipstick was the one I wore the most. I loved it so much I wore it down to a nub! I remember the packaging was all black too, not colour coordinated like it is now. I definitely prefer the packaging now to back then.

So I thought why not review all of these lip paints? They’re all amazing, perfect for summer as they work like a stain as well as being a colour changing and unique shade to you.

I’ll do them in the order they were released, so the first one I’ll be reviewing is Genie!

Genie is the first shade that came out and goes on green and turns into a hot pink shade. I’ll pop a bit about it from the official Barry M website.

It’s green but magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink. It does this by adapting to the Alkaline in your lips. In other words, every person is different and every look is unique! Genie lasts for eight hours too so you can achieve an all-day custom kiss that’s all your own (Genie is an improved formulation of Barry M’s popular ‘Touch of Magic’ lip paint.)

I know a lot of brands claim that your lipstick will last for 8-12 hours, but this ACTUALLY does! I feel like it’s more of a stain than a long lasting lipstick, which I love! Due to this I feel like you can apply various coats of it and it’ll help it last longer, as well as create a darker shade which of course is good.

FYI this is my favourite picture of the bunch and one of my favourites I’ve taken of myself since my blog profile picture! :’)

Genie is green and goes on as a hot pink shade. It’s one of my favourite shades out of the three due to how vibrant the colour looks and due to that it can be worn all year around.

I first bought Genie (well touch of magic!) back in 2009/2010 when I first started getting into wearing bright coloured lipsticks. My mom loved it too and bought one at the same time as me. She still uses it to this day like myself, which just goes to show what an amazing product it is!

It’s from Genie doing so well over the years that I can only imagine encouraged Barry M to create not one, but two more colour changing lip paints to add to the collection!

At the end of March 2017 they decided to release a second shade, Neptune which is what I’ll be talking about next.

Neptune is a blue lipstick that turns a raspberry pink/purple shade when applied to the lips. Although Genie will always hold a place in my heart, this is a shade I adore due to it being near to being purple. I LOVE purple lipsticks so much!

Neptune, a magical new sibling for Barry M’s signature Genie Lip Paint. Neptune is blue… but turns lips a miraculous, personal shade of dark pink! Like Genie, Neptune reacts to the Alkaline of lips, creating a unique shade for everyone. Neptune also stays put for up to eight hours so it’s magically long lasting too!

My only problem with Neptune is I find sometimes when applying it to the lips the blue shade will stay around a while and I’ll have to use my finger to blend the lip paint into my lips a little more to help create that gorgeous raspberry pink/purple shade.

Like Genie this does last a long time on the lips and the more you apply the darker the shade will become. I would say it’s more of a raspberry pink shade than purple, but I sometimes feel I apply so much it becomes purple more than anything.

All of the colour changing lip paints are really comfortable to wear on the lips and I always find myself applying lip balm over them to keep my lips hydrated. This doesn’t affect the colour at all, which is great!

Finally we have the newest edition to the colour changing lip paint family! Unicorn was released recently at the end of May for Barry M’s 35th birthday!

This of course is the last colour changing lip paint I’ll be writing about on this post.

Following on from the magic of Genie & Neptune, Unicorn is the latest launch in Barry M’s family of beaut magical Lip Paints! This time yellow magically turns your pout an ultra-long lasting personal shade of pink.

Like Genie Unicorn is a lip paint that turns into a light pink shade, but it’s originally yellow! This isn’t as dark a pink as either Genie or Neptune, it’s more of a light soft pink which I really like for the summer months when you don’t want to wear a heavy or strong lip colour.

I was hesitant to pick this up when I first heard about it a couple of weeks ago because of it being pink. My first thought was, “But you already have a pink shade… Why make another?” I mean I’m surprised Barry M didn’t go for a coral colour to coincide with the summer.

This being said this is a lighter pink than Genie and it’s gorgeous! I love it and I can’t wait to wear it more over the summer here.

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but these don’t really have much of a scent. If anything it reminds me of aloe vera, that sort of refreshing smell. I really like it but I’m glad it isn’t strong otherwise it might have put me off.

Overall I LOVE these lip paints and I don’t think any other high street beauty brand in the UK will be able to pull it off and say it’s a unique idea.

These cost £4.99 each and are worth EVERY PENNY. If you have never tried these before and want to then get on it! Boots currently have 3 for 2 on Barry M, so you could get all of these if you wanted to.

If you want to read more about them or have a look on the official Barry M website, then here is the link for that.

What do you think of the Barry M colour changing lip paints? Do you own any or want to own any? If you own any what shade(s) and if you want any which shade(s) would you like to pick up?

I hope you enjoyed this review, I’ve really missed doing them lately! My lips are really sore still and due to this I couldn’t even take pictures the day of writing this review. BUT that was actually due to allergies, which still sucks. 😛

ANYWAYS… Until next time, take care all.

May ’16 Wish List

Hello May, we’re nearly halfway through the year! Surely you aren’t due yet? Oh, what? You are? Oh right. I’m hoping that May will bring plenty of awesome things, as well as some better weather considering there has been some snow!

I am going to try to continue with a spending ban, only buying things I actually need, and every two months I’ll treat myself to some Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. Woop woop!

There are more clothes on here than I imagined there would be, and there would be even more if I had included the Star Wars clothing Hot Topic have just come out with! I’ll save that for another day.

  • L’Occitane Almond Velvet Hands SPF15 – £18.00 (link)

I mentioned a few days ago on my April favourites how I love L’Occitane’s hand creams, and when I found out they were bringing a new version out of the Almond one, I was even more excited. This one is a little different as it includes SPF15, and it’s said to leave your hands looking smooth, and basically not old. 😛 My hands look haggard lately due to my eczema flaring up, so I imagine this hand cream would help them look a little more youthful. I would love it for the summer. Plus who can say no to the lovely light pink tube!?

  • M&S Denim Playsuit – was £ 39.50 now £19.75 (link)

I wouldn’t really describe this as a playsuit, more of a pair of short dungarees… I love them! I’ve seen them when popping through my local M&S and they do look really good quality. They’re currently in their sale, which is how I discovered that their price had gone down. I think I might try to pick these up soon as I would wear them to death in the summer. I’d team them up with a geeky t-shirt, tights, and my Jake Dr Martens. I’d look proper geeky and everything! 😛

  • Fujifilm Instax Share Printer – £129.00 (link)

I have a cool and funky DIY idea in mind which I want to do soon, and I need this awesome printer to do it with! I want to make a photo frame where there is string inside, with pegs attached onto it, and on the pegs I would attach pictures of me and Dane, but Polaroid  ones of course! This isn’t cheap, but considering you can print any pictures you want, it’s pretty nifty. I don’t know when I’ll get this, as it’s pretty expensive. But nonetheless I would love it at some point in the future.

  • PuppyCat Wallet – £34.99 (link)

I love Bee and PuppyCat, both the show, as well as the comic book! So when I found this wallet on Amazon a couple of months ago I instantly fell in love with it. I don’t need a new wallet, and to be honest I don’t wish to replace mine anytime soon but this one is just too cute not have in the future. I’ll be keeping my eye on it as a treat, or a gift idea. I like when people buy me wallets… I don’t know why.

  • MAC Cosmetics Versicolour Stain in shade Resilient Rose – £20.00 (link)

I have been pretty excited for these coming out since they were announced, and when I recently popped to my local MAC counter I decided to swatch a couple of the shades, including this one. I loved the other shades I checked out, but this cherry red won me over! I won’t be buying this anytime soon due to how expensive this is, but fingers crossed in the future that I can pick it up as a treat. I’d apply it over a lip liner or on its own. This isn’t as long-lasting as a liquid lipstick, but the stain it left behind on the back of my hand didn’t wash off properly for a few days, which was a good sign for me!

  • Hot Topic Studio Ghibli Spirited Away No-Face Girls Sweater – was $44.50 now $33.37 (link)

I have been in love with this jumper for a long time, since seeing someone on my Instagram wearing it! I nearly ordered it at the start of my holiday last month when I felt like crap, but left it due to wanting to save money. I love Spirited Away, it’s definitely my favourite Studio Ghibli movie, so what better than a jumper with No Face on, eh? I’ll definitely buy this in the future, and team it up with leggings, and my Jake Dr Martens to really geek it up.

  • Pokemon TCG Mythical Pokemon Collection: Mew – £29.94 (link)

I used to play the Pokemon trading card game when I was growing up, and I loved it! I soon stopped mind the older I got. Over the past couple of years I’ve wanted to take it back up again and play with people, but alas as of yet I haven’t… Although now that Pokemon have brought out the mythical collection’s, I want to start the old hobby up more than ever! These aren’t cheap though, and considering there’s 12 to come out in total this year… I could be pretty poor if I do take the plunge and get them. Oh woe.

  • Killstar Bad Habits Dress – £34.99 (link)

I’ve always lusted after clothing by Killstar. They’re very gothic looking, and beautiful, so right up my street pretty much! I have a dress similar to this that I’ve owned since I was 20 but that’s starting to see its last days now, and I’d love an upgrade! I’ll be keeping my eye on it in the future for a naughty purchase.

  • BB-8 Droid by Sphero – £129.99 (link)

I’ve wanted this adorable BB-8 since it was announced before Christmas, but alas I don’t own it yet. I can get this £100 brand new which is awesome, but even so if I was to buy this for myself, it would be a very expensive and luxurious gift to myself. I know Dane wants this too, so at some point soon we could buy it and split it. Maybe as a treat to ourselves in June for our third anniversary together? We shall see!

Those are some of the items I am lusting after for May. I am pretty sure I have missed things, but as I cannot think of them right now they’ll have to be missing until June now, which I’m sure will be here before I know it!

What do you have on your wish lists for May? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope everyone is having a great week.

Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Lacquers – Swatches & Mini Review

For nearly a year now I have been waiting for Maybelline’s Color Elixir’s to come out in the UK and FINALLY they’re here and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited!

As soon as I heard about them coming out I went to Boots and made myself an online order and FYI Boots have Maybelline on 3 for 2 at the moment, whilst Superdrug have buy 1 get the 2nd half price, so if you like the look of these, make sure to go and grab a bargain!

So with Boots offer on when I ordered my lip lacquers, I ordered three! But before I show and tell which shades I ordered, I’m going to tell you a little bit about the new Color Elixir’s.

Maybe gleaming colour can feel as good as it looks. New Maybelline Elixir, with its moisturising formula and velvety wand, cushions lips in lustrous colour that’s soft not sticky. Our 1st colour hit with the addictive feel you’ll crave.

The color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a balm, and the glass shine of a gloss Our brush helps application and can create a smoothing sensation for the lips

These have been out over the pond for about a year now and whilst they have 20 shades, we’ve only been given 10, which I won’t lie, sucks! The 10 shades we have are Signature Scarlet, Blush Essence, Caramel Infused, Nude Illusion, Petal Plush, Fuchsia Flourish, Rose Redefined, Raspberry Rhapsody, Mandarin Rapture and Hibiscus Haven.

The shades we’re missing out on are Mauve Mystique, Glistening Amber, Captivating Carnation, Vision In Violet, Dashing Orchid, Celestial Coral, Amethyst Potion, Intoxicating Spice, Breathtaking Apricot and Caviar Couture.

I’ve picked up (from L-R in above image) Fuchsia Flourish, Blush Essence and Raspberry Rhapsody and I won’t lie, picking which shades I wanted was hard as all the shades are beautiful.

Although to many this probably doesn’t matter, I want to talk about the packaging of these and how much I love them! The tubes are a hard acrylic plastic with a silver lid and the rest of the tube see through so that you can see your lip colour. The color tube inside the clear tube doesn’t just show off what color you have but is also in the shape of a lipstick and to some people may even think these are actually lipsticks! I think it’s very different and extremely nice to look at when you take it out of your handbag, make up bag, etc. As well as that whilst on the go and at work it makes me feel safe that the packaging will keep the lip lacquer safe from damage, which aside from the shade, how long it lasts and how it feels on the lips, the packaging of a lip product is one of my top priorities!

As well as that the doe foot applicator of these are really nice and soft, therefore they catch-all of the product on the applicator. As the tip of the applicator is rather pointed it makes easy application on the top lip and especially if you have thin lips.

Now onto the actual lip lacquers! These are amazing and I really did worry that by the time I received them in the post I would have set my expectations really high and would be let down. Oh how wrong I was!

In daylight L-R: Raspberry Rhapsody, Blush Essence and Fuchsia Flourish.

In shade/indoors L-R: Raspberry Rhapsody, Blush Essence and Fuchsia Flourish.

These lip lacquers really are what they say on the tin! They have the pigmentation of a lipstick, the wet look of a lip gloss, the leftover colour of a lip stain and the feel and comfort of a lip balm. These are definitely a 4 in 1 product and great for people who are on the go and don’t have time to keep reapplying lipstick. I’ve been using these for a week now and they’ve actually replaced my MAC lipsticks in that time, which has really shocked me!

When applying these they really do feel like butter on the lips and the color payoff is amazing, even with lighter shades! The gloss is lovely and thick and isn’t sticky but feels more like a thick lip balm (similar to Carmex) which I really like. There is NOTHING worse than applying a lip gloss, going out for a walk and having your hair get stuck to the gloss and then said piece of hair sticking to your glasses. Glasses wearers will know what I mean!

My lips felt really soft with this applied and the past week of just using these my lips have been really soft and not dried up once, which I’m really pleased with. Alongside that after 2-3 hours of work I will get a chance to reapply these but I don’t really need to as with some of the shades this does stain slightly. I’ve noticed that out of the three shades I bought Fuchsia Flourish leaves the best stain and it really did cheer me up knowing that this hadn’t worn off completely after a cup of coffee (or two!).

Finally I want to say how lovely these smell! From reading reviews from over the pond some loved the scent and some hated the scent and I was worried it would be unpleasant to use, but I was wrong and its a very enjoyable scent. Although lovely, it is very hard to describe and is one you have to really smell yourselves… But I shall try my best to describe to you how it smells! It reminds me of a sort of sherbet scent with a sort of washing powder type scent in there, it is a somewhat comforting scent and works well for a lip product. Personally I didn’t find it transferred into my mouth when I was eating or drinking, although I have read people say that they can taste it when they do drink and eat… Each to their own!

Now onto swatches of the shades I picked up!

Fuchsia Flourish

Fuchsia Flourish

Fuchsia Flourish is a gorgeous Barbie pink shade that is not too neon looking and wearable day-to-night. Out of the three this one is the most pigmented and by far my favourite of the shades! This leaves behind a nice light pink tint as it wears away, which is always good. This was applied in one go, no need for going back into the tube for some more gloss.

Blush Essence

Blush Essence

Blush Essence is a lovely nude pink shade and not usually the sort of shade I pick up. This is a gorgeous light pink shade, sort of peachy but not too peach. This one does have a subtle hint of shimmer in which isn’t as noticeable as some shimmer lip glosses. This is great to apply when I’m not fancying wearing anything heavy on my lips. This was applied in one go, no need for going back into the tube for some more gloss.

Raspberry Rhapsody

Raspberry Rhapsody

Raspberry Rhapsody is a purple pink shade but whilst it looks scarily purple in the tube it really isn’t that bad when applied on the lips… Which to me was a tad on the sad side as I hoped it would be like MAC Rebel (review here). Due to it being a subtle purple pink this can be worn both day and night. Out of the three this one is at the bottom for a few reasons, 1. The colour payoff isn’t as good as I feel it should be and 2. You have to keep going back into the tube for some more gloss which just shows that this isn’t as pigmented as it could or should be.

Overall I LOVE these lip lacquers and will definitely be buying more in the future. The only downside is that we have 10 shades missing in the UK, which means I’ll have to venture to eBay for any of the other shades I want.

I recommend these to anyone who would like a 4 in 1 lip product, especially if you live a busy lifestyle! These would also be great for school kids and students galore!

Will you be picking up some if not one of these Color Elixir’s? If not, why not? Hey maybe you already have some! Which shades do you have and what do you think of them? Let me know in the comments!

P.S. I apologise for having my earphones in on my swatches of each product on my lips by the way. I’ve been listening to “V” by Maroon 5 and it’s actually amazing! I recommend you go and check it out if you’re a fan of them.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your weeks are going well.
