August ’16 Favourites

I can’t believe it’s September… This year has really flown by and I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing. To think in just a couple of days me and Dane have had the keys to our house for three months. WOW that has REALLY flown by! Not just that but we’ve now been living here over a month. Oh dear I feel so grown up and awesome and stuff. πŸ˜›

Since moving into the house I feel like I’ve discovered some amazing new products and I’m excited to talk about those today.

 photo August Favs_zpskgpfeu4w.jpg

  • L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask in Detox (link)

This was a new purchase in August but one I really fell in love with throughout the month as it’s such a great mask! I use it as a once maybe twice a week treat. I don’t want to talk too much about this as I only reviewed it a couple of days ago, so I’ll leave the link here so you can read a bit more about it.

  • NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Stone Fox (link)

I didn’t think I’d love this lipstick as much as I did due to the colour… I bought it on a whim and as a treat as I had wanted it for quite a while but it sat in my drawer for about a month as I was too anxious to wear it out. As soon as I put this on though and went out with it I just couldn’t stop wearing it! I even wear it to work and get so many compliments on it. It reminds me of a liquid lipstick but much more comfortable to wear. I’ve already bought another shade, Cherry Skies. I’ll definitely be reviewing this very soon.

  • Lush The Comforter Shower Cream (link)

After settling into the house I went into my box of Lush goodies and took out some treats to keep in the bathroom to use. This included lots of bath bombs, bubble bars and of course shower gels and creams. I forgot how much I love The Comforter shower cream and although I only have the small bottle a little bit of this cream goes a long way. It leaves me smelling like Ribena and feeling soft and smooth! Eventually I want to get the huge 1KG bottle of this stuff.

  • Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder (link)

I wanted to pick up a new face powder that I could use all the time, as I’ve been using a lot of my Chanel powder lately and I want to try and keep that for days off work. I had been looking around for ages for a decent one and finally stumbled across this. From using it so far it really does mattify my face and leaves it looking good for at least 8 hours. I also bought the primer to match this which works really well with the powder. A little bit of this goes a very long way, which is great.

  • St. Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub (link)

I have nothing but great things to say about this face scrub! I use this twice a week to make sure to get rid of any dead skin cells, as well as any rough patches on my face (mostly my cheeks) from where my skin has dried out over the days in between using this. I picked it up on a whim as it was on an offer at the time (Β£3 from Sainsburys to be exact) and I’m so glad I did. The only problem I have with it is the bits of scrub get “stuck” in my eyebrows and it can take ages to get every bit out. I’ll definitely be buying this again in the future though.

So those were my favourites throughout August. What products were you loving throughout August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely day.

July ’16 Favourites

Is it really August now? The past two months have flown by and I’m really gobsmacked about it. It’s due to my house, and now I can safely say that me and Dane have moved in! Hopefully things will start to slow down a little now, and I’ll have more time for my blog. Yay! As I write this I am wrapped up on my new sofa, in my gorgeous new M&S blanket, with a horror movie on… Did I also happen to mention it’s 8am? Oh dear!

Anyway let’s get on with this post! OH and you may have noticed that the background image is now different then how it was before. This is how it should be from now on, due to moving into the house, etc.

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Scorpio (review here)

I can’t believe I haven’t yet mentioned this shade by Jeffree Star, especially as it is on of my favourite shades to wear! I don’t really get as many compliments on this… So to speak. I usually get, “That looks very gothic!” or “Wow I wish I could rock a shade like that!” I guess the latter is kind of a compliment. It’s a gorgeous grey purple shade and one I love to wear whenever I fancy being different.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Pop Art in Grapefruit Zing (review here)

I recently reviewed this on my blog and it has seriously been my go to lip product since I bought it. I have been wearing my lipsticks of course, but this has just been handy for when I’m too tired from early shifts at work (getting up at 4.30am is hard work people!) to be arsed to apply liquid lipstick. I get loads of compliments on this too, which is always lovely to hear!

  • Victoria’s Secret Body Mist in Snow Mint

This is an old Victoria’s Secret product and have owned for nearly two years now… Wow a long time! I love using this during the warm summer months as it’s so cooling to just spray onto the skin, especially before work, or if you want to pop out to do some errands. I get nothing but compliments on the Victoria’s Secret body mists and this is no different. Everyone always says how nice I smell, which of course is a great thing to be told! I hope they release these again this Christmas, as they are limited edition. You can pick these up on eBay though, which is always good.

  • The Body Shop Drops of Youth Concentrate

This is a sample I picked up a couple of weeks ago from The Body Shop and it is safe to say that I loved it. It’s one of those products where a little bit goes a long way, and as it’s lightweight and cooling it has been a real treat to use when it’s been hot and clammy. I don’t know if I would pick up a full size of this, but it has left my skin feeling gorgeous. I may have to treat myself to it in the future. It is a beautiful product to use.

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Gloss in Wink Of Pink

Another Maybelline product! I have been waiting for these to hit the UK for quite some time now, and they are finally here. Not all shades that America have mind, which is frustrating. These have been lovely to wear on their own or over the top of Grapefruit Zing. I intend to review this soon as it is such a lovely lip gloss to wear over the summer, and it really does remind me of lip glosses I wore as a teenager.

So those are my favourites for July! Sorry that there isn’t anything mind-blowing on here, but sadly I haven’t been able to really use anything special this month due to house related issues again. Now we have moved in things will start to get more exciting on my blog again, I promise!

What things have you been loving throughout July? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

May ’16 Favourites

It’s June and it’s also a hella exciting month! Oh God… Did I really just say hella?! Anyway! More to come as to why it is exciting in a couple of days time. πŸ˜› It’s also mine and Dane’s three year anniversary on the 8th, yay! Of course, more into that next week.

However, it is once again time to share my favourites from the previous month, and boy was it hard to narrow it down to five! For once I actually struggled to decide, but eventually I found my favourites, which I’m sharing with you today.

 photo May Favs_zpsteoddxyt.jpg

  • Johnson’s Bedtime Baby Bath (link)

Okay I know this is meant to be for babies, but there is something to me that is really comforting about Johnson’s original baby bath, as well as the bedtime one. Every time I have used the bedtime one before bed I have slept really early, and had a great nights sleep! So it doesn’t just work for babies, obviously. It’s just going to a real treat to keep using, as whilst I love using Twilight bath bomb by Lush before bed, I find this is a nice cheaper version that won’t break the bank.

  • Bourjois Paris Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer (link)

I am loving the Bourjois primers at the moment, the luminous one being the one out of the two (the other is the matte one) that I’ve been using pretty much everyday throughout May. Sadly it’s not pretty much run out, which is the only thing I am disappointed about, because at Β£10.99 a pop it’s a lot to fork out every month. I did however get this and the matte one on the 2 for Β£14 offer in May. Well I wish I had bought more as these are amazing primers, dare I say better than Benefit POREfessional? They really do matte my skin and this one leaves me with a nice healthy looking glow. You don’t need a lot either to get a matte affect. I just love it, but I think I’ll be waiting until another offer comes up where I can feel okay with splashing out Β£11… Still, it’s cheaper than Benefit! πŸ˜›

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade Redrum (link) (review can be read here)

I love my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, that is a fact and everyone I know, knows this! I wear them quite often and every time I do I always get compliments. This was one of my recent purchases and oh my, do I love it. It might be my favourite shade to date and out of this and Scorpio, I find myself wearing this one more. It’s a gorgeous Marilyn Monroe red shade, perfect for any time of year. I get nothing but compliments on it, and since recently buying Jeffree Star’s white liquid lipstick shade Drug Lord, I’ve been mixing it with all my liquid lipstick to create my own shades! I recently tried it with Redrum and it looks just like Doll Parts! So pleased!

  • Lush Love and Light Hand Cream (link) (review can be read here)

Now this is a hand cream I have come to love when I first bought it, and then when the winter months came in and my hands were really bad, I grew to dislike it due to the fact it wasn’t nourishing my hands as much as I wanted and hoped that it would. However, I began using this again at the start of May and my hands looked beautiful and soft. I was so damn happy! I popped some in a little pot and started taking it with me to work to use after washing my hands. Towards the end of May though my hands have started to look rough again… I don’t know if it’s due to the hand cream not working as well as it did at first, or due to something else. Either way I am disappointed… I love what this hand cream did for my hands again, but I won’t be buying a pot ever again.

  • DKNY MY NY Eau de Parfum (link)

I can’t even remember how long I’ve owned this for now… Must be three or so years now, gosh I feel old! I remember to this day my mom buying me the huge 100ml bottle as it was on an offer, and I’m probably only just halfway through it now. This is a strong scent and one you don’t need a lot of. It isn’t the nicest DKNY scent I have had, but it isn’t awful either. I just use it for work these days, and I get NOTHING but compliments on it! Which is always a good thing. The only thing I dislike about it is how huge the bottle is. It JUST about fits in my handbag, which isn’t exactly huge. It’s a lovely scent though, and perfect for the summer months that are looming.

So those were my five favourite beauty products this month!

What did you enjoy using throughout May? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time take care all, and I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

NYX Intense Butter Gloss in Black Cherry Tart – Review

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 37 35 am_zpsyosg9h4y.jpg

I write so many bloody reviews lately! Before I would hardly write any, and now they’re coming out of my ears. Alas I have a review for you today, and yes it’s another lip product. This is an excited review for me today mind as it’s a beauty brand I have been so excited to try for years, and now I FINALLY have the chance to give them a go. As you’ll have already gathered from the title, I’m going toΒ  be talking about NYX today.

NYX has been around for years… Over the pond in the states, where it was founded. It finally hit the UK around Christmas time with Boots having it on offer on their website. More recently however they decided to start moving it into stores, which is deadly for me considering there is a Boots down the road from where I work, and they have a HUGE NYX stand in there.

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 37 45 am_zpsijjfyhlz.jpg

I have so far bought two products so far, the NYX Butter Gloss in shade Red Velvet, and this what I’ll be talking about today, NYX Intense Butter Gloss in shade Black Cherry Tart.

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 39 11 am_zpsznq92cko.jpg

This was one of the first products I swatched on the back of my hand. I am a complete magpie with purple lip shades lately and I honestly don’t know why! It’s a gorgeous dark purple, near black shade and is described as, “deep vamp purple”.

The gloss itself is just as the name of it describes, like butter. It isn’t sticky at all, which I really love with lip glosses. It goes on really easily and creamy, this is probably one of my favourite lip gloss formulas I have come across to date.

Another thing I noticed with this is the scent. It smells just like a cherry tart! You can’t really taste it when it’s on the lips, but you can smell it a little. If you’re not a fan of scented lip products then this might not be for you, but it isn’t a strong scent anyway so I can’t see sensitive noses having a problem with it.

I have a liquid lipstick just like this by Give Me Glow Cosmetics called Bad Gal, you can read my review on that here!

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 38 40 am_zpsamhvzd0l.jpg

The applicator for this is your usual doe foot but this one is a bit longer and flatter than your usual ones. This gives you a precise line when lining your lips and feels comfortable on the lips. I use a lip liner with this lip gloss to create a perfect defined line, as well as give it some extra staying power.

I’ve worn it with and without the lip liner underneath for work, as well as days out and about and whilst it looks great either way, I do prefer with the lip liner for staying power.

Of course, as I always do I post some pictures of me wearing said product. I don’t often state this, but I am yellow toned, so you can get a good idea how this may or may not look on yourself.

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 46 08 am_zpsujh3t9q5.jpg

I just HAD TO include this picture. Oh the lolz!

 photo Photo 12-05-2016 11 46 16 am_zpspzpilmiq.jpg

So what do I think of this lip gloss overall? I absolutely love it! I won’t lie, when I swatched this on the back of my hand in Boots I thought it was the perfect dark purple shade, but when I put it on my lips I was worried I had bought a shade too dark for me… However, I am one for bold shades and I continued to rock this until I was fully comfortable with it! I have had many compliments on it, as well as people commenting on how dark it is, but in a nice way.

I love experimenting with dark lip shades, and this one is one I have loved to play and test out over the past couple of weeks of owning it. If you wish to try dark shades out I would highly recommend these butter lip glosses, whether they’re the normal ones, or the intense ones. You can pat them on to create a lighter shade, or even do an opaque look with them.

If you fancy giving these a go yourself you can pick them up in some Boots stores that now have NYX stands, as well as online. They cost Β£5.50 each and come in 13 different shades, including Black Cherry Tart which is the shade I bought.

So, will you be giving these a go? If so which shade(s) are you interested in picking up? Hey, do you already own one of the intense butter glosses? If so which one(s)?

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a lovely week, and have just as good a weekend and bank holiday!

April ’16 Favourites

It’s May, and you wouldn’t believe we were into Spring with how the weather as been the past week. Snow two of the days this week! Weather, are you drunk? πŸ˜›

Anyway, on with the favourites for this month just gone!

 photo April Favs_zpsesyasmep.jpg

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Spray (link)

I love the Sugar Crush scent. It’s so gorgeous, summery, and it cheers me up any time of the year. So when I spotted that they had brought out the body spray, I made sure to pick one up. At the moment I use it everyday at work, I usually go for perfume but I want to try to use up my body sprays. That and I find my perfume is too nice to wear for work right now. One of the girls I work with always compliments me when I wear this, saying I smell like a holiday, and coconut. Love it! πŸ˜›

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream (link)

I only have the travel size in this and that suits me down to the ground as this stuff is amazing! A little bit goes a long way and it really does help moisturise my hands when I’m out and about. It’s thick which makes it feel like it’s actually working when applied to your skin. I love L’Occitane when it comes to their products, and you can never go wrong.

  • Lush Magic Wand Re-Usable Bubble Bar

This is a limited edition Lush item from Christmas, so sadly you can’t buy it anymore. My friend Sophie recently gave me a small box of Lush goodies that her sister didn’t want anymore, including Fairy Dust, Snow Fairy, AND this Magic bubble bar. I’ve used it twice now and I love it! I still have two of these in my Lush box to use too. I find one point of the star gives me enough for one bath, so I still have four baths left, the three points that are left, as well as the middle. This is just a lovely treat for me, and I intend to use one this evening after I finish work.

  • Bourjois Souffle De Velvet Liquid Lipstick in shades Cherry Leaders and Plum Plum Pidou (link)

I couldn’t decide on which one to add to my favourite this month, so I had to add both! I wasn’t going to pick these up, as I’d just bought two new Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks, but alas I saw the offer Boots had on and bought two (the offer being any 2 Bourjois products for Β£14) and I don’t regret it. These are so lovely and light to wear on the lips! They go on like a gloss, and they don’t really dry matte, but they dry well enough to stay on for a while. I use Cherry Leaders over a red lip liner to help it last longer. I got nothing but compliments when I wore these towards the end of April. I’ll be reviewing them soon for sure.

  • Yankee Candle Large Jar in Hazelnut Latte

I LOVE this candle. I’m just sad it’s slowly coming to the end of the jar. It’s limited edition and probably won’t come around again until autumn/winter time now. Sad times. It lasts ages though and smells amazing. My family love the scent of it as well, which is a nice change. I have it burning now and it smells lovely. I’ll definitely pick another one of these up in the future if I see it for sale. Dane bought me this last summer, so I’m surprised how long it has lasted me.

Apart from one general product, those were my beauty favourites from April! I know I’ll be stuck for choice already for May as I have so many things I love from the end of April already, as well as stuff I’m waiting to arrive in the post. Let’s just say they’re liquid lipsticks, and by my favourite brand. πŸ˜›

What products did you keep reading for throughout April? Make sure to let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a great April.

March ’16 Favourites

Hello April, where did you come from? This year really is flying by, and quite frankly I’m pretty happy about that right now… But I can’t say why yet. πŸ˜› SORRY (not sorry)!

 photo March Favs_zpsjoz3h9xo.jpg

  • Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! EDP (link)

I bought this perfume nearly two years ago when I went to Bristol for a long weekend for our first anniversary. I had wanted it for ages, so when I picked it up for a bargain I was super pleased! It’s a lovely light scent, which lasts agggges! I’ve been using it loads at work lately for the transfer from winter to spring. The bottle itself is beautiful, but due to how clunky the lid is, I often take it off when I take it out with me. I would recommend this scent for anyone, as I find alongside Decadence it’s one of the nicest scents.

  • Antipodes Deliverance Hand Cream (link)

My friend Poppy bought me this for Christmas, which I only recently received from her. It’s a gorgeous light hand cream, that really packs a punch! Lately my eczema on my hands is REALLY bad and this hasn’t worked on its own. However when I used this alongside my eczema cream it works like a charm. It smells beautiful and zesty too, which I love for when the summer comes around.

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood (link)

I bought this liquid lipstick from my friend Claire (from memory) in February, and I really do love this shade! I’d had my eye on it from the day Jeffree Star announced it, but was never able to pick myself up a tube due to it being forever sold out! I bought it from Claire (check her blog out here) for Β£10! BARGAIN! I don’t wear it alllll the time, but I do love it when I do. It applies like a dream, and lasts ages. OH and it doesn’t stain either. I’ll be reviewing this very soon.

  • Snow Fairy Shower Gel

How can this not be on my favourites? Like every month of the year!? I’ve been using this every other day when I fancied using it, and I always forget what an amazing shower gel it is. It smells gorgeous, the scent lasts ages, and my skin always feels and looks gorgeous after use too. I just need to get a body lotion of this now, and I’ll die happy. πŸ˜› I still have my one 1kg bottle of this, as well as two 500g bottles. So I think I have enough to last me until Lush bring this out again in October. πŸ˜›

  • Miss Sporty Clear Mascara (link)

I have used his clear mascara on and off since I turned 14, so well over ten years now! I’ve used it on my eyelashes, as well as on my eyebrows, but I just use it for the latter now. I have big eyebrows (as you can probably see…) and it can be hard to keep them in place sometimes, so I use this clear mascara to keep them in place. It’s cheap as chips at just Β£2.99 too! It helps keep my brows in place all day, so it can’t get any better than that.

Those are my favourite beauty products from March! What products did you love using throughout March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all, and here’s to April! πŸ˜›

Give Me Glow Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Bad Gal – Review

As regular readers of my blog will know, I LOVE liquid lipsticks and since towards the end of 2015 I have started to grow myself a nice little collection… Mostly Jeffree Star Cosmetics to be honest, with the odd one or two different ones. One of these including my newest purchase from Give Me Glow Cosmetics.

Give Me Glow Cosmetics is an American cosmetics company who started out on Etsy, but recently created their own store online. Woohoo! Due to this their products have had a new design to them, as well as loads more shades! They mostly focus on creating duplicates for liquid lipsticks on the market at the moment such as Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and Kylie Jenner Cosmetics, two of the hottest liquid lipstick creators right now.

I have previously ordered from Give Me Glow but due to the two liquid lipsticks I purchased being from bad batches, I was given this liquid lipstick as a replacement for them both, which was lovely of Brandy, the owner of Give Me Glow.

So after using this for a week and falling head over heels in love with it, I just knew I had to review it. Here is my review of Bad Gal.

Bad Gal is a beautiful dark purple shade, which was inspired by an image of Rihanna. It’s described by Give Me Glow as “deep vampy cranberry purple”, which is pretty accurate. It is a very risque colour to say the least, and one many people wouldn’t have the balls to wear. I won’t lie after it arrived at my house I did gulp in fear of wearing it out… I’ll talk that a bit more later however.

The tube is a little bigger than the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, sadly I wasn’t able to get a picture for comparison at the time as I was at Dane’s house.

The applicator is something I actually really like! I thought I was going to dislike it due to being used to the doe foot applicator that my Jeffree Star and Aromi liquid lipsticks have. Instead this one is a paddle applicator, which makes it a little bit more flat, and also means that there is more control when applying this product to the line of the lip. Even though I use a lip liner before applying liquid lipsticks anyway.

The applicator also picks up plenty of product so I don’t feel the need to keep dipping back into the tube to grab more product for a full coverage.

The product itself is amazing! It’s pigmented to the max, and lasts ages! This is just a stroke of the colour, and you can just see how great it is on my hand. I did a couple of pictures as I wanted to attempt to show how it looks in the light, but it looks good either way!

I wore this out for an evening of drinks with Dane and some of our friends and it didn’t transfer once, even after loads of Disaronno and cokes. πŸ˜› However it didn’t last as long before we went out during eating Chinese, but this is due to the oil in the food, which is a no no when it comes to liquid lipsticks. This is the norm, so don’t be surprised if this happens with ANY liquid lipstick.

I’m not sure if it’s due to the fact I didn’t remove with an oil based make up remover (I used a baby wipe…) or because of how pigmented and dark the shade is, but this stained my lips the next day. I wasn’t fussed about that though to be honest. I have the same issue with Masochist by Jeffree Star Cosmetics (review here) so it’s the norm for me. It shows is a good colour and formula in my eyes!

I found re-applying this was at times a bit tricky, and I’m not sure if it was due to me eating oily food, but the middle of my lower lip went a little patchy after re-applying, but I also have a feeling this was due to rubbing my lips whilst it was still dry. I left my mouth open slight and it dried perfectly. I had no issues after this.

With all my liquid lipsticks I do the kiss test, which worked! I gave my boyfriend kisses and had no product come off! YAY! This is always a thumbs up for me.

As I always do, here’s some pictures of my mug showing off Bad Gal!

I said earlier I would briefly cover how I felt wearing such a bold shade out and about… I’m pretty sure I had people staring at me in the pub… But you know what? I don’t care! It takes quite a lot of guts to wear a shade like this, feel comfortable, and actually pull it off. I like to think that I can pull of shades like this. I can’t wear nudes, they don’t suit me, and I don’t like them. Dark shades however I feel 100% comfortable in, and personally I feel they suit me perfectly.

I really want to wear this for work, but due to how dark it is I don’t know if I can get away with it or not… I’ll have to try it one day and see how I get on! πŸ˜›

Overall I really love this formula! I probably won’t buy another lipstick from Give Me Glow for a while for various reasons, which aren’t anything to do with the product. The first one being that I need to save money, and the second that the postage isn’t exactly cheap… Which isn’t the sellers fault at all! If they release any shades soon that I feel I NEED in my life, then I may pick a couple up at once to save on postage.

For a newish indie liquid lipstick brand they are amazing, and they customer service was perfect when I had issues with two of my liquid lipsticks too. I would highly recommend them if you want a duplicate of a shade, or something a little different! Each shade costs $13.25 (roughly Β£9.21), and I paid $15.85 (roughly Β£11.01) so the postage actually cost more than the liquid lipstick! Bit crap really, but honestly these are worth it!

Do you like the look of Give Me Glow Cosmetics? If so, which shades do you have your eye on? Would you be risque and wear Bad Gal out? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all take care.

January ’16 Favourites

New Year, new monthly posts! I love doing these so much, and always look forward to writing a new one at the end of each month. I’m not changing the way I write these at all, and will stick to the same format that I usually do. My favourite five products of the month. This year I’ll try not to repeat any products, but if I do alas, it just means it’s an amazing product!

january20favs_zpsamfukj7c

  • Lush The Comforter Shower Cream. (link)

This is a shower cream I received in one of the many Lush gift sets I got over Christmas and my birthday. I have a couple of bottles of these so I decided to start using one as a nice treat. It smells so delicious, and I already know I’ll be buying a huge bottle in future. It smells just like The Comforter bubble bar and is really strong. The scent lasts on the skin most of the day, which is great! When I first used this it didn’t foam up that well, but since then it has been great. This has been great to use before I start early shifts at work, as it really does wake me up. My boyfriend seems to really like this as well!

  • The Body Shop Africa Ximenia & Salt Scrub. (link)

I picked up this beauty in the Boxing Day sales, and I really do love it! I can see picking this up over and over again as it is just an amazing body scrub. I actually used it on my boyfriends back whilst he had a bath to give him a massage, and he loved it. It leaves your skin feeling silky smooth, and you don’t need a lot as it’s super thick and goes a long way. Due to the ingredients it leaves a lovely smoothness behind that only a body lotion could do. I intend to keep the pot it came in too so I can try to create my own coffee scrub. I recommend this if you have dry skin like me, as this is perfect!

  • Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP. (link)

This is a perfume my brother bought me for Christmas, and it was by far one of the nicest gifts I received! My brother always picks the best perfumes and this is probably the best he’s ever bought for me. I tried this out whilst I was on holiday and I loved it so much. I didn’t buy it though as I thought, “No I have enough perfume!” and it’s a good job I didn’t considering my brother bought me this before/during my holiday! I honestly can’t describe the scent as it’s such a unique one, very masculine smelling in my opinion. It reminds me of Illamasqua’s perfume to be honest! This is by far best fragrance by Marc Jacobs and I wish he would make more like this. I’ve been wearing this quite a lot throughout the month. I love it so much.

  • Aromi Beauty Liquid Lipstick in shade Miss Mauve. (link)

I’ve gone a little liquid lipstick crazy recently (honestly I really have!) and this is one of my recent purchases, and also one of my favourites. I reviewed it recently, which you can check out here. This is a gorgeous mauve shade, which feels so comfortable and creamy on the lips. Due to the light shade it’s really wearable too, and one I have found myself reaching for for work when I fancy wearing something nice. If I fancy anything OTT and awesome, I’ll always go for my Jeffree Star shades, or MAC. I would love to try more Aromi Beauty lipsticks in the future. This one is just perfect, and I’m so glad I picked it up when I did as it’s currently sold out on Cocktail Cosmetics website!

This was one of my Christmas presents from my mom, and it was very much appreciated as I was in need of a new face powder. I think she knew that, which made this even nicer. I have been using this to set my The POREfessional by Benefit and it works really nicely with that to help keep my face matte for most of the day. I could probably do with taking this to work so I can powder during my break… But meh I’m too lazy for that! I just love this powder, and I recommend it as a finishing powder for sure.

So those were my favourites for January! Wow the first monthly favourites has come and gone already. I can see this year flying by already, I can’t believe it’s February now.

What products did you love during January? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all!

Aromi Beauty Matte Liquid Lipstick in Miss Mauve – Review

dsc_0005_zps60uu09jv

I don’t feel like I’ve written a lipstick review in FOREVER! That’s probably because it was! What with graduation, holiday, new job, Christmas, New Year, AND my birthday, I don’t feel like I’ve had much time to review anything.

I haven’t really owned this lipstick for long, but I already know how I feel about it, and just had to write a review up about about it today. I cannot wait to share this with you. EEK!

Aromi Beauty is an American beauty brand, who are both cruelty free and vegan! I only heard of them through one of the many lipstick related Instagram pages I follow and decided to look further into them. I wandered over to Cocktail Cosmetics website to see if they stocked their liquid lipsticks, and low and behold they did! So I ended up ordering the shade Miss Mauve for myself.

The Aromi liquid lipsticks (like all of them do) go on like a lip gloss and dry to a matte finish.

When I applied this I was worried about it not living up to the same standards as the Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks, as they are pretty much the best ones on the market right now. However, whilst this isn’t exactly the same as the velour liquid lipsticks, I found they were better in some ways, which I shall explain.

As usual this arrived super quickly from Cocktail Cosmetics, and I couldn’t wait to wear it for work the next day. I applied this quickly in the morning before I left the house, and then headed over to work. I got nothing but compliments on this shade, both from colleagues at work, as well as customers. I also received compliments via my Instagram page, with people saying what a gorgeous shade this is. I have to agree on that! πŸ˜›

I’ll start with the look of the lipstick first, and then talk about the product itself. I have a lot to talk about with this one. I’m going to compare Miss Mauve to my Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, just so if people own those and want something to compare to, you can!

The first thing I noticed about the tube is how it’s a lot longer than the Jeffree Star ones, and contains a gram less of product. The Aromi contains 4g, whilst the Jeffree Star contain 5.6g. The prices are also a pound different on the Cocktail Cosmetics website with the Aromi being Β£13.00, and Jeffree Star being Β£14.00. As you can see I have taken a picture to show the sizes of the tubes alongside each other.

The Aromi Beauty liquid lipsticks have a sweet vanilla scent to them, which isn’t overpowering, but just the right amount of scent for it to smell delicious. I hate when lip products smell and taste super artificial. It just puts me off using the product. When applied to the lips however, the scent isn’t noticeable to me, and I can’t taste anything either.

There is one thing I’m unsure of though when it come to the size of the tube, obviously the wand is also long. I’m used to one half the size, but this being said I didn’t have an issue, as it just reminded me of a lip gloss I would have used years before as a teenager. The doe foot applicator is a standard one you find on most products, which I really liked. I felt it made it easier to line my lips and cupids bow before applying the product all over the lips. I usually need to use a lip liner with my liquid lipsticks, but this one I didn’t need that at all.

That leads me to talk about applying the product. I actually found it a little easier than with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, which saved me a bit of time when in a rush in the morning for work. It’s a more watery consistency which I found glided a little better when applying to the lips, and after it had dried it felt a lot more natural on the lips and comfortable, as if it isn’t even on my lips in the first place. Drying time is quoted as one minute, which is accurate.

L-R: Jeffree Star – Masochist, Aromi Beauty – Miss Mauve, Jeffree Star – Hoe Hoe Hoe

As I stated at the start of this post, I picked up Miss Mauve, as the name states, a mauve shade. It’s a gorgeous browny purple shade, which can be worn from day to night. I’ve been wearing this for work and it just looks gorgeous, and stands out against the normal nude, pink, and red shades that most people wear. I’ve swatched it alongside Masochist (review here) (on the left) and Hoe Hoe Hoe (on the right), both shades are by Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

For the five hours I wore this, and drank water I never had any issues with it fading from the middle, or outside area of my lips. An issue I have recently discovered with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. It states on the packaging to steer clear from oily foods, so after I ate my lunch at work (chips and a chicken burger, go me and eating well eh?!) I thought I would end up looking like a clown… Alas I was wrong and the lipstick had hardly budged! Again, this is an issue I have had with the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks. When I wore Masochist the day before I wore this, I looked like I had been eating raspberry jam, and it resulted in a trip to the bathroom to remove it all. What a shame. 😦

I applied a little more of Miss Mauve where needed and headed back down to finish my shift. Four hours later I got home to discover it hadn’t budged still and looked as good as it did when I left the hours nearly nine hours prior to starting my shift.

Like all liquid lipsticks, they can be a pain in the arse to remove. There are meant to stay on all day don’t forget! I use an oil based make up remover to remove my liquid lipsticks, and I found I didn’t need to use much effort to remove these. I do find I have to do that with the Jeffree Star ones. Which isn’t a bad thing! It means they’ll last a long time, but when you want to get them off after a long day, you don’t want to have to scrub so hard on your lips you irritate them, do you?

Time for a couple of snaps of myself now, one of me being silly. πŸ˜›

As you can probably gather, I love Miss Mauve! I might buy more from Aromi Beauty in the future, just because of this liquid lipstick alone. I didn’t find any cons with it at all, they’re all pretty much pros. The price is great, wear time is perfect, has a nice scent which I like, the formula and the way it works for me are bang on, and the shade is just what I was after.

I’m trying to move towards something different from reds, and pinks at the moment this mauve shade is just perfect for me. I can see this being my go to lipstick for work.

What do you think of Aromi Beauty, and Miss Mauve? Will you be giving the brand a go? Let me know the comments!

Until next time, take care all.

Currently #4

I’ve kinda been updating you on my life recently due to so much happening what with Christmas, New Year, and my birthday, but I wanted to do a currently post so I could update you all properly on how things have been recently, aside from busy with all the holidays mentioned above!

I’ve been excited to do another currently list for ages! So here is currently number four.

Watching: I have been watching all sorts recently. Mostly a mixture of Mrs. Brown’s Boys, and Making a Murderer, but come on, who isn’t watching that? I do really like Making a Murderer but at the same time it frustrates me so much to watch, that I have to take breaks from it just to think about what the hell is going on! My boyfriend got me to watch the first episode on my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see what it was about. I hate jumping on the bandwagon to be honest, but I’m glad I did as it is a very interesting documentary. I need to finish it mind… Might do that today. I got Mrs. Brown’s Boys as a reward from my old job for doing so well in my customer service and such. That will be one perk of my old job that I’ll miss, the rewards you would get! I really like Mrs. Brown’s Boys, it’s hilarious and the Irish humour is spot on. The movie isn’t that great however… My dad also loves this so we’ll be watching it together soon I hope. There are a couple of clips I love from this show, and I couldn’t pick one so I’ve added two above for you to watch, and a crappy one because I can’t find said clip anywhere online!

Playing:Β As I am yet to write about, I bought a PlayStation 4 after Christmas and I am so happy that I did! With that I have been playing plenty of games on there. The one I’ve been playing the most (and actually 100% completed last night) isΒ Life is Strange.Β I’ve played it before, but I bought it for my PS4 to get the trophies, as well as remind myself what happened in the story. I loved it, and I’m sure I’ll play it again at some point in the future. As well as that I’ve been playingΒ Little Big Planet 3Β with my boyfriend, which has been loads of fun! We played it loads on my birthday and it was nice, really nice. I can’t wait for him to get back from holiday so we can play it again soon. Until Dawn is another game I’ve played a little of, and I intend to play more after I’ve written this blog post as I really crave playing it right now! As well as tonight when I get home from pole dance fitness.

Listening: I’m pretty damn bored with my music at the moment. Like REALLY bored. I haven’t had something come up on the shuffle playlist that’s made me think, “Damn I haven’t listened to that artist for a while!” and put them on later, or the next day. I’ve been looking around YouTube for some new artists to check out, and Nightcore is one I have gladly discovered. They take songs and speed them up a little to make them sound sort of chipmunk like, sort of reminds me of Japanese music for some reason… Which is why I like it! I have been listening to a couple of the songs, and I intend to download some soon for my car. The second video I have linked I listened to for the first time today and it made me cry, as it made me think of how I feel about my boyfriend. So it’s officially my song for him. πŸ™‚ Cheesy? Yes. Fucks given? Zero!

Eating: CRAP! Honestly I haven’t been eating that great at the moment. Not even in the sense of I’ve been eating rubbish like junk, but I’ve hardly been eating lately and it isn’t for bad reasons either. I just haven’t really had the energy to. I’ll eat little tid bits and that’s it. I cooked myself something though a few nights ago and it was lovely. I do want to start eating healthy again, like I was when I was dieting, but I don’t want to at the same time. I like having my treats. I have however been drinking lots of tea, and I don’t know why. I blame it being cold and not wanting to drink coffee all the time.

Wearing: I got some new PJs for Christmas (which you can see here) so I’ve been wearing them loads since receiving them! As well as that I have been notoriously wearing my 101 Dalmatians Vans (read about those here) as they are hella comfortable! I can’t wait to rock them more in the summer, as I think my shoes for winter will have to start being my Jake Dr Martens (can read about those here), as I’ve been neglecting them a little lately.

Wanting: SLEEP! Lots of bloody sleep at that! I am constantly tired at the moment, and I don’t know why. On my days off work I plan to have a lie in, and I never have one. On days where I start work late I usually end up having my lie in then. I like waking up early to get things done… But I do love my sleep. As well as that I am lusting after Black Milk Clothing leggings, the fox ones… Which I have mentioned time and time again. I am still after them… YES! I am going to see about ordering them with my birthday money when my boyfriend comes back from holiday, but I’m not sure yet. They are a lot of money. Sadly. As well as that I am lusting after the new MAC Cosmetics Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks, especially shade Oh Lady… WHICH IS SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE! Soon… Soon.

Other than all those things I’ve been pretty chilled at the moment. I’m trying to sort my blog over the next month so that it can be better this year than ever before! I have recently changed my profile picture on the right (as I’m sure you can see) and I intend to do some more changes soon.

What are your currents at the moment? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and see you soon.
