Story Time #1 – The Nightclub Stalker

This is ANOTHER new series for 2018 that I have thought on and off about doing for quite some time now. I was (and probably still will…) going to do it as something fun on my personal Instagram account but why should my friends have all the fun with stories, eh?

I remember recently telling this story to a few girls at work and even mentioned it in passing to Dane and I knew that story times needed to becoming a part of my blog. I am always a fan of sharing funny, scary and serious stories with friends and family of what has happened to me in the past.

So why not share them with you guys too? So here is the first of many of my story time posts! The first one being The Nightclub Stalker. I have added some pictures on here from that night too! I have cropped out anyone I was in pictures with for their own privacy.

This happened back in 2011, the day of my graduation for my BA. I graduated with a 2:1 in drama and creative writing and I was so happy! I’d been out for a meal with my parents after the ceremony and went home for a well deserved nap. That evening me and some friends were due to go out to celebrate and to be honest out of at least 10 or more friends I had asked out that evening, only 2 turned up. Funnily enough I’m not friends with one of them anymore and the other I talk to very rarely. We’re still Facebook friends which is nice.

ANYWAY! So already a bit fed up about only being able to celebrate with 2 of my friends, I intended to enjoy myself regardless! We decided to go out clubbing and we decided on our club of choice. I’m not going to name place names by the way, nor will I name people. This club in particular was decent because you paid £10 to get in before 11pm and you would get a ticket with 10 drinks on it. Each drink equalled a shot so if you wanted a double JD and coke you’d use up 2 of your drinks. With me? Good. 😛 So we all got those and headed to the bar.

NOW you’re aware of the setting for this story, I will rewind and go back almost a month previous to this evening…

So, almost a month previous I was on a night out with my friends for their final freshers at university (they were a year behind me) and I was a single pringle at the time so I was doing whatever I wanted, etc. I’d met a cute looking guy on the dance floor, we were having a laugh, had a cheeky snog (as you do!) and got his number (as you also do!) and headed home. A couple of days later he was texting me about meeting up for a date, so I did. The date was awful to say the least. He was clearly high on drugs and just a bit of an arrogant prick. He kept hinting for me to go to his place soon as he lived nearby to where I did. It was annoying but tolerable, nothing different to the bullshit I had had to listen to on dates previously (as well as after!). When the date ended I was relieved and headed home, hoping to never have to see him again!

Sadly, this wasn’t the case. Now we’re back to the night of my graduation. Me and my friends in the club, drinks in hands and dancing on the stage to some amazing rock and indie tunes! We were loving life and I was feeling less tired after such a long day. THEN my phone started buzzing, I checked it to see who it could be and it was him. The bad date guy (we will call him BDG for short).

BDG – “Hey Nat are you in this club?”

Me – “I might be. Why?”

BDG “I thought I saw you dancing on the stage! I’m coming over!”

Then before I even had chance to put my phone away in my handbag he jumping up on the stage and grabbing me for a hug. I went to say hello but was greeted with him trying to make out with me, which just creeped me out to be honest. Like yeah a quick friendly hug is all well and good but fuck at least buy me a drink! 😛

I pushed him away and spoke a little bit to try and break off what had just happened but as soon as I pushed away he pulled me in more. Hugging me hard and saying, “You graduated today didn’t you? OH MY GOD I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!” Which at the time seemed sweet, but meh it wasn’t.

He was incredibly drunk and again, appeared to be high on some sort of drugs.

I broke away again and said about sitting down but he wanted to go and get some drinks. I asked my friends to come with me as quite honestly, I didn’t want to be left on my own with him. At least I could hug my friends if I didn’t want him to hug me.

We made our way downstairs as he insisted on going to that bar, THE VERY BUSY FUCKING BAR instead of the NICE AND QUIET BAR that was in the rock room. Whilst we were waiting to get our next drinks he noticed we all had our tickets ready to be stamped and excited said, “Oh wow you got the tickets? I didn’t managed to get one as I didn’t get here until after 11pm.”

Me being as sympathetic as ever, “Aww really? That’s a shame.”

“Can I have a couple of your drinks then?” He asked me, trying to be all puppy eyed.

Image may contain: 1 person, drink, glasses, night and indoor

Some pre drinks, as you do! 😛

The cheeky fucker who had turned up loaded on whatever he’d taken before entering the club and who was already pissed was asking me for my drinks. I wasn’t even tipsy yet.

“Nooo these are my drinks! I paid for these and it’s my special day.” I had no fucks to give to be honest.

This back and forth of please? No. Please? No. Went on for a while until he went into a massive strop and wouldn’t talk to me.

“Look if you don’t have any drink tickets why don’t you just buy a drink?” I went on to ask him to try and find out why he was so adamant for my alcohol.

“I don’t have any! I spent it getting into the club.”

“Well, where are your friends?”

“I don’t have a clue. I lost them in here.”

How very convenient. Quite honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they ditched him. Harsh yes, but read on. You will understand my harshness soon.

He was then starting to be funny towards me and make snarky comments, especially as we got closer to the bar and me and my friends discussed what we were going to have to drink.

In the end my one friend said, “Nat I’ll buy him a drink if it gets him off of your back.”

“No! Don’t you dare! You paid for those drinks so you use them. He’s not sponging off of us.”

“I won’t use them all anyway Nat, it’s okay. Honestly.”

So, to shut him up she bought him a drink, which in turn he moaned at.

“WKD? What you bought me this for? I want a double vodka and Redbull!” He mouthed off at my friend, even though he was drink said drink anyway.

“Oi! Be grateful she bought you a drink at all!” I shouted at him and stormed off back towards the stairs to go upstairs.

He was pissing me off. He was a bad smell that wouldn’t fucking do one and he was starting to ruin my evening, as well more than likely annoying my friends.

We headed upstairs, him following behind. The seating in this place reminded me of those uncomfortable benches you get in bus stops. I had told the girls to both sit either side of me to try and avoid him sitting next to me.

He wasn’t particularly pleased about that and asked both of my friends if they could swap places with him so he could sit next to me, but thankfully both of them refused. Sadly though at one point one of my friends got up as she wanted to stretch her legs. AS SOON AS HER ARSE GOT UP FROM THE SEAT HE SAT NEXT TO ME!

As TMI as this may be he was all over me. Each time I tried to shove him off he took it as a sign I was enjoying myself. He was just trying to kiss me loads as well as feel me up at the best of times. Eventually he got off of me and took a hint. At that point one of my friends was still sat next to me and where he was shoving into me I was also shoving my friend, which I felt bad about.

I also realise that the above may sound rapey… It didn’t feel it. It was just annoying and clingy and I regret not punching him “accidentally” in the balls.

That guy got up and declared that he needed a wee so wandered off.

“Come on Nat let’s leave. He’s really annoying and I don’t like how he’s behaving.” My one friend said.

“Yeah she’s right, we should go home.” My other friend agreed.

I was gutted. Not only had that fucker ruined my night, but he had now ruined my friends. Deep down I wanted to go home, but why the hell should I?! I paid my money to drink my 10 drinks and enjoy my fucking evening, with my friends.

“No we aren’t going! Why should we? He probably won’t come back anyway.”

Just as I said that he was appearing again and I quickly shuffled up and sat next to a guy who did not look like he should be in the rock room.

“Do you mind if I sit here?” I asked him as I shuffled up.

“Nah go for it.” He answered. He was sat with a drink chilling out and watching the dance floor. He didn’t seem to be with anyone.

I grabbed the girls to sit next to me so he wouldn’t be able to sit next to me at all! The only chance he’d be able to is if the guy moved.

As he came over his face went from smiley and cheerful to frowning and confused. There was nowhere for him to sit. I smiled at him, as did the other girls.

BDG – “Mate I wanna sit there.”

Random guy – “Nah. I’m sitting here.”

I was a mixture of shocked and relieved. I thought the guy might move but alas he didn’t want to.

I don’t know what else was said from memory but I just remember BDG throwing a punch at the guy and then the guy getting up and grabbing BDG by the throat. I freaked out, not knowing what to do! I know it sounds bad but I didn’t give a fuck about BDG at this point, but I did give a shit about the guy. Purely because he was an innocent person who was just sitting down, enjoying his drink and chilling. He didn’t do anything wrong to be punched!

He let go of BDG after a while and stood up. Before BDG had the chance to do something to the guy again I pulled him to one side and said, “Please just walk away. Don’t do anything stupid.”

Random guy – “Nah this fuckers going down. He doesn’t just punch me and think it’s okay.”

Me – “Look I don’t give a fuck about that guy, he’s ruined my evening and he’s clearly ruined yours. He’s an arrogant tosser. Look just walk away mate, you’re better than this. Trust me. He isn’t worth you getting into trouble for.”

The guy seemed to calm down and nodded at me, thanking me as he walked away. That was something I was really proud of. I’d stopped an unnecessary fight.

BDG acted as if nothing had happened however and was asking me to sit down by him.

“No I don’t want to. I might head home soon.”

“What? Why?”

“Because of you! You just randomly hit a guy for no reason. He wasn’t doing anyone any harm.”

“Yeah but he was in my seat.”

“No! No he wasn’t!”

There was an awkward silence after this and he just kept creepily smiling at me, as if to say, “Sorry I was a massive cunt. Want to come make out now?” Hell no. That shit doesn’t wash.

I went over to my girls and said as loudly but quietly as possible, “I’m going to the loo, follow me in 5 minutes and I’ll get us out of here. You’re right, we should have left. I’ll call my dad to pick us up.”

So with that I walked away, went down to the  loo as fast as I could, had a wee and called my dad to ask for him to come and meet us as soon as he could.

I waited in the toilet until the girls came in to meet me and they were both laughing their heads off.

“What’s so funny?”

“You won’t believe what happened when you were walking off to come down here!”

“What?”

“Well he was calling after you, shouting your name over and over. Did you not hear him?”

“NO! What happened next?”

“He got up from the seat and started running after you but he slipped on the alcohol that guy spilt earlier and bashed his head off of the dance floor.”

I was at this point crying with laughter. “Where is he now?”

“Don’t know, he got up and ran off.”

THANK FUCK!

At this point my dad rang me to say he was close by and to get out of the club now. It was so busy though. That club was like a maze at the best of times. So I had gone downstairs for the loo but you had to go through another room to get there. So we went through the club room to go upstairs to the rock room. Then we had to go to the other side of the rock room to go downstairs into the pop room and then get out. I really hope that makes sense! I told you it was like a maze.

So we slowly wiggled out way through people to get out of one room and to another. Down on set of stairs and then another. We were making out way down the bottom of the set of stairs that takes you to the pop room when my one friend said, “Shit there he is!”

He hadn’t seen us so I said, “Fuck run!” We legged it as quickly and safely as possible, shouting excuse me and sorry constantly as we wiggled and waved through people.

“Don’t turn around, just keep moving.”

Just then my dad text me, “I’m here, see you in a sec.”

It was a scene from a British drama or a comedy, but it wasn’t funny… Well it was looking back at it.

We got out of the club and practically dived and jumped into my dads car.

“DAD! DRIVE!” I shouted as I put my belt on and ducked down.

“Bloody hell Nat, what you done?”

“Fuck all there’s been a creepy guy following us around all night.”

As we drove past the club, safe in my dads car there he was. Looking for us outside in the smoking shelter.

I couldn’t wait to get home. I told my dad about the whole thing and he laughed in a sort of, “Nice one, idiot.” way.

The next day in the afternoon I received a text message from BDG.

BDG – “Hey Nat oh my God last night was crazy wasn’t it?! I don’t remember a thing! I’ve woken up with a massive bruise on my face. Don’t have a clue how I got it.”

Me – “You don’t remember anything?”

BDG – “Nah nothing! Why? Did I do something wrong?”

Me – “How about everything? You were an absolute cunt mate.”

I wasn’t holding back. The C word was out and being use in force!

BDG – “That’s a bit harsh. I didn’t even do anything that bad, did I?”

Me – “How about trying to have MY DRINKS, pissing off MY FRIENDS, constantly all over me when I wanted to have a NICE TIME and not to mention you attempting to beat some random guy up because he wouldn’t move to let you sit next to me.”

BDG – “I don’t remember to be honest with you. I text you to see if you could enlighten me on what happened.”

Me – “I’ll enlighten you on something and I’ll say again. You’re an absolute cunt and I don’t want you talking to me ever again. I’ll be blocking your number.”

BDG – “See ya then. Was nice knowing you for such a short time. I really like you!”

Then I blocked. He was annoying me. Really liked me huh? Yeah right. Well… Maybe a bit TOO much.

So that was my nightclub stalker story. At the time it was a mixture of funny and creepy. It put me off meeting guys on nights again after that and I just stuck to people I knew through friends etc. They weren’t much good either in all fairness but at least they weren’t randomers.

Now I look back on it it’s a funny story to tell, although a few people have freaked out about it. This was back in 2011, which soon enough will be 10 years ago. It’s crazy!

I do apologise for how long this post is! I really wanted to do a story time post on this at least as it’s a story I like to share for various reasons.

What would you have done in my situation? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all!

Winter 2018 Anime We’re Watching – His & Hers Post

This is a series I really wanted to start this year… Well two in fact! I LOVE LOVE LOVE anime and manga so I’m finally going to writing more about it on my blog as and when I can. I know my blog started off with mainly beauty and fashion but the older I’m getting, the less arsed I am about both of them. They will always factor into my blog (beauty more than fashion at least!) but I just want to start writing more about the things I enjoy and wish to talk about, instead of the stuff I hope my audience will want to read. Sounds selfish, but it’s my blog! 😛

As well as starting off talking more about anime, I am also going to be trying to do more blog posts with Dane, aka his and hers posts. I have loads of ideas for posts us two can write together and give both a male and females opinion on.

ANYWAY enough of stalling, on with the post!

Winter anime for 2018 is pretty amazing right now and if you’re a part of the loop you’ll either be incredibly pleased about the new and returning series that are on show right now, or disappointed. There may be some happy medium… 😛

I wanted to share some of the winter anime series that I’ve been watching and my thoughts about them. Dane has been watching some of them more than myself and vice versa, which is why I wanted him to join me in writing this post.

I have My Anime List up as a guide as to what is on at the moment for winter. I’m not going in any particular order. Of course I will list where you can watch these series if you’re interested!

Violet Evergarden – Available to watch on Netflix (dubbed).

Synopsis (source: Anime Expo) – There are words Violet heard on the battlefield, which she cannot forget. These words were given to her by someone she holds dear, more than anyone else. She does not yet know their meaning. A certain point in time, in the continent of Telesis. The great war which divided the continent into North and South has ended after four years, and the people are welcoming a new generation. Violet Evergarden, a young girl formerly known as “the weapon,” has left the battlefield to start a new life at CH Postal Service. There, she is deeply moved by the work of “Auto Memories Dolls,” who carry people’s thoughts and convert them into words.

Nat’s thoughts – This is a series that Dane got me to watch a couple of episodes in after it was added to Netflix recently. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes of this to be honest and it’s not that I dislike it, nor do I love it. It’s a series you seem to need to stick with or you won’t continue watching it, like myself. I just feel like the story is very slow and you’re just seeing the impact Violet has on other people whilst she’s trying to piece together the puzzle of what happened to her during her time in the army/fighting in the war. I may give it another go however as it does seem like a gorgeous story. The art style itself is also gorgeous and without sounding daft, is aesthetically pleasing. 😛

Dane’s thoughts – I started watching this after seeing a GIF on Reddit and thought, “Wow, that looks pretty!” After watching it I now think it’s one of, if not, the most beautiful anime I have seen to date. The hair… Damn… The hair just looks so good. Not surprising from the animation studio that brought us K-ON!, A Silent Voice and so much more. Kyoto Animation are really one of my favourite studios.

The story, whilst slow but so pretty, kept me pretty engaged. I want to know what happened pretty much in the war, who the pretty major is, and how pretty Violet will eventually learn to understand her emotions, that are pretty. Even if Nat is no longer interested I will continue to watch it as it is released as a simuldub (an anime dub that is shown simultaneously with the Japanese release). It is definitely a must watch for me.

Did I mention how pretty it was? 😉 😛

Citrus – Available to watch on Crunchyroll (subbed).

Synopsis (Source: Yuri Project) – Fashionable Yuzu imagined the first day at her new school she transferred to after her mother’s remarriage a bit differently; she didn’t know it’d be an ultra-strict and conservative girls’ school. So instead of a sweet high-school romance, she butts heads with the stern student council president Mei—who turns out to be her new stepsister. And she has to learn that hate and attraction are often not that far apart.

Nat’s thoughts – Bloody hell this is an anime series that is taking the anime world by storm right now! I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say a bad thing about it other than how odd and meh (look at Dane’s thoughts for what I mean by meh…) it is. It’s basically about two step sisters who enter into a relationship. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes at the moment and it really does throw you into this young lesbian romance that the two girls enter into. Even the titles are very kiss heavy, like full on tongue and making out. Me and Dane aren’t really into shoujo ai (non-explicit lesbian relationships anime) but we watched it due to everyone talking about it right now, Dane more so than me! We did this with Yuri On Ice!!! and we’re so pleased that we did as we loved it! However, Citrus is different. I think the reason people are going crazy for it right now is because it’s sexual. People go mad for that sort of shit to be honest and considering the type of sexual relationship the two girls have… I’m surprised they’re showing it overseas. I do love Yuzu so much though, she’s adorable and moves away with her mom for their new “life” so she hopes to fall in love etc etc. She’s also kawaii with her fashion sense and quirks. It’s not a series I dislike nor like at the moment but like Violet Evergarden I do want to start watching it from the beginning to give it a fair chance (even though deep down I don’t think the sexual scenes are right considering how rapey they look…). Dane however has been watching more of it than I have! 😛

Dane’s thoughts – Anime is trash and so am I.

Lesbianism and sexual assault is the name of the game here. It is about Yuzu (the protagonist) and Mei, her new stepsister, getting freaky with each other and their shenanigans at school. Whilst it does develop into a consensual “thing” they have going on (as of episode 5 I would not call it a relationship just yet), it starts off really fucking rapey. Yuzu, being a confident and outgoing person in everyday life becomes very uncertain and scared once something vaguely sexual occurs. Even when it’s not even sexual it gets awkward fast, she’s like a teenage boy getting a boner at the slightest thing. Then Mei gets involved and you’re like, “Hell yeah!”… If you’re into that sort of thing… Then it gets rapey. Straight after everyone goes on their day like, “I was just groped, had my clothes torn off me… But I like it so it’s okay.”

The story has left me wanting to know what the deal with the dad is, why Mei behaves like a piece of cardboard, what other ways you can make lesbianism awkward and why Japanese girl-only schools make them so “horny”. Each episode is a roller coaster of emotion that leaves me feeling much like Fry from Futurama being sentenced to death by snu-snu.

But…

… That shit is hot yo.

From GIPHY

All jokes aside, our reaction to this anime is just like Donald Glover (above) and does once again remind us of how trashy anime can be. If it was a bit more tasteful we could give it a proper recommendation but it’s just on the edge of being a bit too rapey. It’s definitely not for everyone.

Poputepipikku/Pop Team Epic – Available on Crunchyroll (subbed) and Funimation (dubbed).

Synopsis (Source: MAL) – Two high school girls, the short and exceptionally quick to anger Popuko, and the tall and much more calm Pipimi, do insane things and swear like sailors in this absurdist comedy filled with references and meta humor.

Nat’s thoughts – Pop Team Epic is a manga I have known about for a couple of years now so when it came out as an anime series I was excited and intrigued to see what they had done with it! The manga is actually more of a comic and shows strips of different scenes of what the girls get up to. It was extremely funny, random and odd all at the same time! I loved it though, but what I don’t love right now is the hype. I get the hype, I really do but at the same time I REALLY hope it doesn’t get too hyped for it’s own good. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes as urgh I don’t know. I think I’ve been more interested in other anime series right now to really want to focus my time and energy watching this one. I will however watch it from the beginning again because I can. 😛 It does have some really funny moments in it however, but I do feel like it worked better as a manga/comic strip.

Dane’s thoughts – Hmm. Don’t let the cute aesthetic fool you, it is not cute. It’s bat-shit crazy. It has its moments where they elicit a chuckle and the occasional, “HA!” but I haven’t wanted to carry on watching it to be honest, or at least not felt the urge to continue. It feels more like a chore to have my TV vomit memes into my eyes at such a blistering pace. We watched it subbed originally, I am a fast reader and enjoy subbed anime but I was more laughing at the visuals rather than the jokes themselves. We tried the dub but I don’t think it had the same impact, whilst the voice actors are good it just didn’t work for me. I guess it would be like trying to dub Konosuba.

I just have the feeling most people are watching this to try and show how weird and quirky they are.

Junji Ito: Collection – Available on Crunchyroll (subbed) and Funimation (dubbed).

Synopsis (Source: My Anime List) – A collection of animated horror stories based on the works of Japanese artist Junji Ito.

Nat’s thoughts – This is definitely one of my favourites from winter 2018 so far and I love it so much! Dane has read a selection of the manga by Ito Junji and we actually own Uzumaki which is one big story and probably won’t feature on the anime. Dane loves Junji Ito’s work and I’ve always found it to be creepy when he’s shown me the manga. However when we saw that there was an anime series online based off of his stories, Dane had to give it a go. I really enjoyed the first episode and to be honest I couldn’t wait for the next time! There will be 2-3 horror stories per episode which are either one off shorts or part of a longer series/story. The stories are a mixture of creepy and unnerving, as well as funny at times and somewhat lighthearted. It depends on the story really. As my Friday work day comes closer to 5pm I think of how excited I am to get home and continue watching this with Dane. I really do love this series and if you love horror you will definitely enjoy this.

Dane’s thoughts – I actually had no idea this was coming out until I saw that Funimation had the simuldub out. I have no idea how I missed this in the run up to it being shown.

As Nat has mentioned I have read a fair bit of Junji Ito’s work already online and currently only own Uzumaki (I am hoping for that to change though soon). The stories he writes are so unique and he is the king of the full page spread, the detail and horror in these images are grotesquely mesmerising. Every week the anime shows two short stories (or in some cases part of the greater story) from his collection. It’s great because you get something new each week, made so much better by the unique ending credits each week too which shows the characters from said stories. Something I have never seen before.

The problem with this is that it just does’nt carry over well in the medium of anime. The horror is not quite there in what the anime portrays. The horror comes from the thoughts of the story themselves and thinking after, “What if that were to really happen?” The animation is okay and sometimes the single shots have good detail in them but it just doesn’t have the same impact of turning the page of the manga.

I will continue to watch this one out of respect for the creator. I also want to see how they tackle the Tomie stories which they have not yet covered as of writing this.

Miira no Kaikata/How To Keep A Mummy – Available on Crunchroll (subbed).

Synopsis (Source: Crunchyroll) – When high school student Sora Kashiwagi finds himself staring down a mysterious oversized package sent to him by his self-proclaimed “adventurer” father, the last thing he expects is for it to be opened from the inside… by a little mummy so small it can fit in the palm of his hand!

Nat’s thoughts – Oh man if there is an anime series I have thoroughly enjoyed and been pretty obsessed with since Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and Your Lie In April, it has to be How To Keep A Mummy. I discovered this anime through Crunchyroll’s Facebook page when they posted a video showing off the show for winter 2018. It’s so damn adorable and if you don’t find the little mummy Mii Kun adorable then you clearly have no heart or soul. The series is just so adorable and constantly pulls on my heart strings. It’s based off of a manga that I really want to read at some point. I always look forward to watching this on a Friday evening or Saturday morning. I can already tell it’ll be one of my favourite things of 2018.

Dane’s thoughts – Erm… It’s kinda cute. Nat likes it so I guess that counts for something… Right?

From Giphy

If you like miniature decaying (Nat – HE ISN’T DECAYING!!! HE’S FUCKING ADORABLE!!!) corpses being reanimated and behaving like a retarded pet (HEY HEY HEY!!! HE’S FUCKING ADORABLE. DON’T MAKE ME SAY THAT AGAIN!!!) then this is the anime for you. You may think I am joking but that basically is the premise. Young boy, who’s name I cannot be bothered to learn, gets sent a mummy by his dad who is currently in Egypt travelling and it proceeds to become attached to the boy and becomes his pet. There is even a retarded rip-off Dragonite and some weird bellybutton motherfucker in it too.

Here is an actual scene:

From Giphy

If you haven’t guessed, this anime is not my cup of tea. It is cute but I found it boring and there wasn’t much going on. I can see its appeal though and by no means do I hate it.

If you do hate it though … Fuck you (Thank Dane ;P).

Back to me now (Nat of course. :P)!

Although we are also currently watching some other anime(s) too these don’t count with the anime that is out during winter 2018. We’ll definitely do another post on those though in the near future as we really want to!

So that is the list of anime that we’re watching (well sort of… :P) at the moment from the new winter releases for this year. If you enjoy watching anime like we do, what have you been watching recently? Anything that we’ve watched or if you haven’t had we intrigued you to? Make sure to let us know in the comments down below!

I just want to say a massive thanks to Dane for having a go on this blog post with me today. Bless him he’s been learning how to add pictures to posts etc etc. It was quite sweet really!

I’m off now anyhoo to enjoy the rest of my Sunday. I hope you guys have had an awesome week! Until next time, take care all.

Holika Holika Golden Monkey Glamour Lip 3-Step Kit – Review

Woohoo the first review of 2018 and one that has been WELL OVERDUE! I’ve actually owned a small pile of these since September 2016 now and yes before you have a massive beauty anxiety attack, they are still in date.

I picked these up from Homesense (which is practically TK Maxx’s brother who loves interior design!) in the sale as the box the masks were in was damaged. You got 3 in a box and from memory they were £3.00 in the sale.

Alas like all things from Homesense and TK Maxx once things are gone, they’re gone. They still get the odd Korean Beauty item but I haven’t seen these since then. I will link at the end of the review about where you CAN pick them up from.

I used one of these back when I first bought them and it actually caused my lips to be incredibly sore so I was put off using another one for quite some time until recently. I decided to give it another go and thankfully I didn’t have the same result as last time! Throughout me using it I wrote down all my thoughts and feelings so it’s a proper review! I’m really happy to have reviewed this product too as it’s a mixture of positive and negative.

I really hope you enjoy this review though, I know I enjoyed writing it to be honest!

As you can see the title of the post, the product name and also the picture above this is a 3 step kit and takes between 15-20 minutes to do, or maybe 30 minutes if you want some extra pampering!

Step 1 – Lip Peeling Patch. It’s an exfoliating patch which I left on my lips for a couple of minutes so that it could nourish my lips as much as possible. Then when I’ve had enough I take the patch off and rub it gently on my lips to exfoliate them. It has a sort of liquid peel type liquid on it which helps to scrub off any old and dead skin. I’m not going to lie, after using this patch on my lips they did indeed leave them feeling very soft and smooth, but they also felt really sore and hot! This worried me to be honest as I began to wonder if I’d had an allergic reaction to the product itself, or that it may have been way too harsh for my lips and the skin around them. I grabbed a baby wipe to wipe away any excess and a while after this the hotness and sore feeling passed. I hated this step though and next time I don’t think I’ll bother with it.

Step 2 – Volume Lip Pack. This is a gummy feeling lip mask that was by FAR my favourite step in the pack! It smelt gorgeous and I just felt really relaxed whilst using it. Due to the type of material it’s made out of it moulded perfectly to my lips and stayed in place for the 15-20 minutes that I left it on. It especially felt really cooking on my lips after what how step 1 made me feel. When my time was up and I had to take this off, I was a little on the sad side as I was enjoying wearing it so much! After use though my lips felt lovely and soft and somewhat plumped to be honest, however it wasn’t anything special like Kylie Jenner! This being said when I was taking pictures for this post my lips did look much more plumped than before, or maybe they were swollen… 😛

Step 3 – Honey Lip Essence. This is the final step in the pack and it’s pretty much just an intense lip balm. I absolutely hated this for various reasons. The first reason being that this stuff went EVERYWHERE! It was all over a cushion I lean on, on my phone and on my notebook. Whilst it was like Vaseline it was twice as greasy and was so gross. When I did finally get it on my lips it did feel somewhat nice and lasted ages. HOWEVER give me Vaseline ANY DAY!

What do I think of this lip mask kit then? Overall it is pretty decent if you fancy a treat or something different in your pamper routine BUT for the price Yes Style charges for (what looks like one…) it’s not worth it AT ALL. You can get the same result from a lip scrub and loads of Vaseline to be perfectly honest.

This has however given my lips some serious TLC and they have seriously been in need of it by the end of January after spending the month being really poorly.

If you fancy picking up one of these lip kits yourself, then you can find them here on Yes Style.

Would you give this lip kit a go? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope February is going well for you so far.

February Wish List ’18

I can’t believe we’re already into month 2 of 2018! To be honest I’m not going to complain as January sucked! For the first couple of weeks of January I was poorly with various different things and in the end me and Dane pretty much worked out that I had the Aussie flu that was going around, which of course sucked! I booked 4 and a half days off work for my birthday and not only was I poorly for the whole of it, but Dane was also away for work so I was on my own. YUCK!

ANYWAY enough of me moaning, this wish list is one I was rather excited to do as there’s loads of awesome bits and pieces on it, however I am so stuck for money lately and especially since my car has recently been MOT’d and taxed! But my little red bug is my baby and I must take care of it, because let’s face it, it takes care of me 5 days a week. 😛

Random but I decided recently that I will no longer be showing the prices of items on wish lists. The reason for this being is that the price changes CONSTANTLY! Especially on websites such as Wordery, which I have featured twice on this post with the manga books. Of course I will continue to leave links for items so you’ll soon find out how much items are for yourself. I will still be talking about what a “bargain” something is or if it’s expensive. So you’ll get an idea from that alone.

So, let’s not delay anymore, on with the wish list!

  • A Polar Bear In Love Vol. 2 – (link)

As regular readers will know for my birthday at the start of January I received A Polar bear In Love Vol. 1 from Dane (you can see what else I got for my birthday here) and I read it within a few days as I was so excited to! I now really want to get Vol. 2 which is released at the end of this month. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the story as it’s just so damn cute! 😀

  • Pusheen Trinket Tray – (link)

I’ve wanted this cute little trinket tray for a while now but every time I contemplated buying it I changed my mind due to monies and that I didn’t exactly need it at the time. NOW however I really do need it as I want something to keep my jewellery in, such as the new ring I received for my birthday, my watch and my Thomas Sabo bracelet.

  • Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name Bracelet – (link)

For my birthday in the evening me and Dane ate Japanese food and watched this film. After watching it I had a nose on eBay to see what merchandise is around from the film and I found this bracelet which is what Taki wears in the film. I’d love to have something like this from the film and I’d wear it all the time and for just £3.99 it wouldn’t break the bank to buy either. I’ll see if I fancy getting it throughout the month.

  • Pusheen Door Mat – (link)

Me and Dane decided recently that we need another door mat, but this one would be for inside by the back door. I want something nice to match up to our awesome Deadpool one by the front door! I’ve had my eye on this one for a while and now it’s available to buy from Truffle Shuffle I really want to get my hands on it as soon as possible. I’m pretty sure we’ll be picking this up when we can.

  • Barry M Cosmetics Under The Sea Nail Paint – (link)

Barry M are really on it lately with their releases and it includes some of their newer products they released at the end of January! I’ll be mentioned two here but this is one of them which is a mermaid inspired nail paint collection called Under The Sea. In the collection there are four shades Angelfish (pearlescent orange/nude), Jellyfish (purple/green), Butterflyfish (blue/pink) and Pinktail (pink/orange). Jellyfish and Butterflyfish are the two shades I’m after as I find they’re the prettiest and most aquatic/mermaid looking. I love wearing nail polish these days thanks to work so I’m always after getting pretty polishes to wear now! Barry M are really good with their nails paints so I’ll definitely be giving these a go.

  • Persona 5 Morgana Nendoroid – (link)

If there is one Nendoroid I REALLY want right now, it’s Morgana from Persona 5! I was actually hoping Dane would have bought me him for my birthday but most websites in the UK who sell Nendoroid’s don’t actually have him until this month so… I recently shopped with Gamersheek and this is who I’ll be hopefully buying Morgana from them this month as I have a 10% discount code too! I just need him in my collection, especially being a huge Persona 5 fan! 😀

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Vol. 1 – (link)

This was actually a manga Dane had ordered me for my birthday but the website stopped selling it and cancelled his order. NOW it’s back on the website I’ll be ordering it this month to read at some point. I love reading Miss Kobayash’s Dragon Maid and I’m currently all caught up until Vol. 6 comes out in May, so I may as well read Kanna’s Daily Life next. ^_^

  • Barry M Cosmetics Holographic Lip Topper – (link)

Alongside Barry M’s Under The Sea nail paints they’re also bringing out these lip toppers which I’d also love to try! I keep lusting after the Lime Crime lip toppers but they’re expensive to be honest with you and if the Barry M ones do practically the same job then win win! I definitely want the blue and the pink shades.

  • Chamilia Disney Lady and The Tramp Charms – (link) and (link)

When I saw these advertised about on Instagram I was SO HAPPY! I have been waiting for Lady and The Tramp charms for way too long and at £35.00 each they’re a bargain too! Apparently you can put these on Pandora bracelets but to be honest with you I’d fancy picking up a Chamilia bracelet for a change from Pandora. They sell Star Wars charms which is AMAZING! 😀 I’m going to keep my eye on picking these up when I have spare cash.

So there’s my wish list for this month! I’m still saving money or paying for other things so I’ll be watching my money again this month and only buying things I actually need or REALLY want.

What items do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

Gamer Confessions Tag

Good afternoon all, I hope you’re well! Wow I don’t usually start blog posts that way but I’m feeling something different today. 😛

This post has been scheduled and at this moment in time I’m watching Dirty Sanchez series 2 on Dane’s old (and I mean OLD) MacBook and it’s snowing outside. You wouldn’t think we’re almost at the end of January would you? 😛

I found this gamer tag by Michelle over on her blog A Geek Girl’s Guide and with the amount of gaming I do I thought it would be fun to have a go myself!

Image taken from weheartit.com

1. A game everyone loves that you can’t stand

Rocket League. I fucking hate that game and it’s for one reason… I’m really bad at it. Like atrociously bad. I can’t play it for toffee and I’ve tried over and over again and I just can’t get into it whatsoever. It reminds me of football games and they’re always rubbish. 😛

2. A game that you love, but no one else seems to

Probably both the DJ Hero games. 😛 I’ve always been into club music due to my brother being a DJ when I was growing up. I remember buying the first game with the turntable and I played that game nonstop on my PS3 until I completed it. Then when DJ Hero 2 came out I was on it straight away. I’d love to play it again but meh I don’t think I can be arsed. 😛

3. An older game you haven’t finished, and probably never will

Tomb Raider 2… Even though I REALLY want to because I loved that game growing up! Someone messed up one of my saves on it and I was beyond gutted. I’d got to about level 7 on there and there’s a point where if she falls she just dies. You can’t grab or fuck all, she just drops to her death. Some arsehole saved the game on that and I was distraught at the time. I went back to it last year to continue but never did. I think I played the first level with Dane and that was about it.

4. A guilty pleasure game

I want to say Minecraft or Sims 4 as they’re both such relaxing games (until you set your Sims house on fire or you’re stuck in a mine with a bunch of creepers!) and you can really get lost in them for hours on end. In all fairness though it’s probably going to be Persona 5 as I can just sit and play it over and over again. 😛

5. A game you really love but haven’t played in a long time

Probably one of the Pokemon games or even a Lego game. I loved the Lego The Hobbit game but I haven’t played it for AGES and I would love to, but it’s on my PS3. I wish I could put it on my PS4 to play instead. 😦

6. A game you never play seriously but others do

Oh man I don’t know… I never play games seriously to be honest! 😛 Probably something like Sims 4 and maybe Minecraft too!

7. A game you completed but hated it by the end

Life is Strange: Beyond The Storm. I was interested by the storyline and to find out more about Chloe and Rachel Amber but fuck me by the end of it I was glad it only lasted 3 episodes as they both pissed me off so much. The way they designed Rachel Amber got me the most. A spoilt brat who walks like a man (not that this is a problem it just didn’t suit her whatsoever!) and uses Chloe as much as possible. Then there’s Chloe… Don’t even get me started on Chloe. I was disappointed by the game as I feel they made the girls like that on purpose and if that’s the case they did an amazing job at pissing people off. I just love Max to be honest.

8. A game you thought you’d enjoy, but didn’t

Lego Worlds. Me and Dane were so excited to pick this up as we thought it would be like Minecraft but with Lego. We love the Lego games so why would this be any different? Sadly it was and in that same instance it was awful. It felt more like you had to run around a glitchy world trying to collect as many Lego series as possible. That isn’t what it was advertised to be and due to that it was a massive disappointment.

9. A game you didn’t think was for you, and then loved

Oh man it has to be Persona 5! I had heard nothing but awesome things about it before it came out and I mentioned it time and time again to Dane to see what he thought. He’d say, “I don’t think it’s your thing Nat. It’s like the Final Fantasy games.” and sadly I can’t stand them. I hate the game play so much. So I ummed and ahhed about Persona 5 for ages and the day it came out I went to buy it from Amazon but it was sold out. A week later I found it in my local Argos and picked it up. I fell in love with the story as well as the game play and it has now gone up as one of my favourite games of ALL TIME. 😀

10. A game you are still excited for that hasn’t come out yet

I’m already excited for the Persona 5: Dancing Star Night to be perfectly honest! It comes out in Japan in May this year so I don’t know when we’ll get it. If it’s anything like Persona 5 was we’ll probably have it December… I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG! :O

Another other games I’m excited for though? A Way Out looks like loads of fun and is one me and Dane would get to play together! That comes out late March. I’m SUPER excited for Detroit: Become Human but as of yet it doesn’t have a confirmed release date, which I’m gutted about as I feel like myself and others have been waiting years for this game now. 😦

So that is all the questions and my answers for the Gamer Confessions Tag!

If you want to know what Michelle’s answers were I’ll link her Gamer Confessions Tag post here.

If you fancy giving this tag a go THEN GO FOR IT! Make sure to let me know so I can read your answers, as well as letting Michelle know too!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely day.

What I Got For My 28th Birthday

It’s that time of year when not only do I talk about what I received for Christmas and what I picked up in the Boxing Day sales, but also what I received for my birthday!

I am now 28 and although I’m not arsed I think it’s been a wake up call this year for me and Dane that we aren’t getting any younger and that we probably need to start thinking about our future… YUCK ADULTING! That’s for another post though!

My birthday this year was an odd one. I wasn’t very well the week before it and I wasn’t particularly 100% after it either. Even on the day when out and about for the day I had sinusitis, which really sucked. For the day though we didn’t do anything exciting, just went around Birmingham for the day, had some food and then came home with Japanese takeaway to eat whilst we watched Your Name. It was lovely and I couldn’t have asked for anything better to be honest with you.

The first thing I did in the morning was open the presents that Dane and his parents bought for me, which was lovely.

Dane’s parents bought me Nichijou Volume 3 and 4 which was really unexpected! I haven’t read the manga for a while and I really do need to keep up with it, especially with how cheap you can pick each volume up on Wordery.

They also bought me the South Park Mysterion figure which had a really lovely story behind it too! We’d been shopping with his parents in town before I started my new job and we’d seen the figure at half the price and I got excited about us getting it. Me and Dane both said no though however due to wanting to watch money for Christmas. We ventured downstairs in the shop to look around at manga and Dane’s parents stayed upstairs to look at Star Wars stuff. A while later and ages after we’d left the shop I noticed Dane’s mom had a bag from the store and I asked what she’d bought, to which she replied, “Oh nothing my bag broke so they gave me this one.” SUCH A GOOD LIE! I believed it and apparently they all worried I wouldn’t. This was lovely to receive though and me and Dane plan to pop it on our fireplace.

Then I opened Dane’s presents and again I received more manga! He bought me Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 4 and 5 as well as A Polar Bear In Love Volume 1, which I have wanted for AGES! I was so excited at receiving it that I started reading it not long after opening my presents.

I was gutted that he didn’t buy me Your Name Volume 2 as that’s a manga I am loving right now, but bless him he ordered it there and then as he wasn’t sure if his parents has bought it for me. When this arrived in the post recently a calendar he’d bought me for Christmas also arrived so I thought I would include that here. It’s the Juniper Fox calendar and it’s so cute! I can’t wait to hang this up in the house.

I was meant to have a Nendoroid to open up on the day but sadly it didn’t arrive until after my birthday which I didn’t mind to be honest, but it bugged Dane. He bought me the Ash and Pikachu Nendoroid which I am so happy with! I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday present.

Everyone at the office got me a card for my birthday as well as a bottle of Disaronno, which I thought was so lovely of them all! 😀 I’ve never had anything like that at a work place before so it really made my day when I opened it in the morning of my birthday.

My brother and my mom bought my presents a little late as I don’t think they quite knew what to get for me. My mom ended up giving me some money which really did come in handy as I’m skint at the moment! My car needing to have its MOT AND tax didn’t exactly help matters either, but meh whatever.

I only thought that my  mom was giving me the money for my birthday but alas I was wrong as she also gifted me something that I originally thought was from my brother and whoever it was from, a the time I couldn’t have asked for anything better to be honest. For ages I have wanted the red delicate heart ring from Pandora but never bothered buying it for a few reasons, but the main one being that I’d never get the chance to wear it due to working in retail and hospitality. You aren’t allowed to wear any jewellery so I never bothered. Now I’m in admin work I can wear jewellery, which includes rings. I mentioned to Dane that I’d like this ring and in turn mentioned it in passing to my mom too, who then mentioned it to my brother. I found out my size in Pandora and told my brother what size I wanted and alas, here we are now! I got it for my middle finger and I love it so much. It’s so comfortable to wear and delicate which is what I wanted. I am a bit on the paranoid side that it’s a little too big for my finger but I’m going to see how it wears for a week. The first time I wore it was out on a food shop and I had no issues really, which was good. I can see me getting this ring has set off a new addiction and love for Pandora rings… 😛

Finally we come to what my brother got for me for my birthday! He also bought me something from Pandora but he bought me a Pandora charm. I didn’t have a clue which one however as he wanted it to be a surprise! So when I opened the box and saw it was a cute little Japanese Doll I fell in love with it straight away. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest with you and for a while I did wonder if he’d bought me a Disney charm as for ages I haven’t even known which Pandora charms I’ve wanted lately. He really hit the nail on the head with this charm however and I really do like it. It’s a dangling one and it’s so dainty and sweet! I don’t think my brother has ever bought me a Pandora charm before so this will always remind me of him when I wear this bracelet. What makes it even nicer in a way is that this charm is now discontinued (apparently anyway…) so it’s nice to think that it isn’t available anymore. A lot of my charms are discontinued ones now. 😛

So that was EVERYTHING I got for my birthday! I’m so grateful to my family and friends for their gifts and I always appreciate everything they do for me throughout the year. They really do make me feel spoilt.

I hope 2018 is going off to a good start for everyone! Sadly I cannot say the same considering I’ve been poorly since New Years Day with 4 different things… It really sucks. 😦

Anyways until next time, take care all and have an awesome week!

2017 Favourites!

This post is way behind schedule and as I mentioned in my recent post, I am sorry about that but my health comes first and sadly a week later I am STILL poorly! Not as poorly as I was beforehand, thankfully but still poorly all the same. Me and Dane have a feeling I’ve got the Aussie flu that’s been going around the UK at the moment, either way I hope it passes by the end of the week when I’m back at work!

Finally I am getting around to sitting at my desk and writing this post, which is way overdue now but whatever, better late than never, eh?

I’m going to list my top 5 favourite things from all sorts of things including beauty, fashion and lifestyle because that’s the 3 topics I always focus on on There Might Be Coffee.

Again, I do apologise for how long this post has taken for me to write and publish, but here it finally is, my 2017 favourites!

Beauty

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius in Normal to Combination Skin (review here).

This is definitely my number one item of 2017 and was also my favourite discovery too! This was a product L’Oreal released last year and after hearing nothing but good things about it, I decided to pick it up when it was on offer. I only recently finished my first bottle and have already repurchased another. This is my go to moisturiser and one I recommend everyone to try, especially during the warmer months and for holidays abroad.

  • Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder.

This is another release this year and one I’d heard positive reviews about so picked it up. Initially I didn’t think much on it, but hoped it would grow on me… It never did and I was really disappointed to be honest. I tried another face powder after this and it was only then I realised that the Rimmel powder was actually amazing and I ended up stopping use of the new powder and picked up another one of these. I really need to review it, but at the same time it doesn’t really need a review. It’s not the best matte powder in the world (Korean ones are! :P) but it really does the job for my oily t-zone and it doesn’t break the bank to buy either.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

I’ve mentioned this hand cream time and time again over the years and I know for a fact I mentioned it plenty of times on here. That itself goes to show how much I love this product. It’s definitely the best hand cream I own and I’ll always go back to it no matter what! Since moving to my new job the state of the eczema on my hands has improved dramatically and it’s purely due to applying hand cream whenever my hands have been washed/wet. I don’t ALWAYS apply this hand cream but it’s often what I reach for. It’s also what I keep in my handbag all the time as it’s great to use if my hands are suffering a little in the colder weather. It really picks my skin back up and if you suffer from eczema like I do, then I recommend trying this! It’s not cheap, but it works wonders.

  • Carmex Cherry Lip Balm.

Again, another beauty product I have spoken about highly since I bought it in September. It was my holy grail whilst I was in Fuerteventura as well as during the day at work whilst sitting at my desk. There’s loads of things I love about using Carmex over other lip balm brands including the cherry flavour, the tingling feeling it gives my lips as well as how thick the product is. Of course the moisture it gives to my lips is always good too! 😛 I recently picked up the Christmas limited edition sugar plum flavour too, which is amazing.

  • Body Fantasies Signature Body Sprays in Cotton Candy and Vanilla.

I picked these up before I went to Fuerteventura as I planned to take the Cotton Candy with me to use in the evenings, but I never bothered and as soon as I got back home I was using them almost daily and still do! These smell gorgeous and I already know they’ll be a regular purchase throughout 2018. They’re great to spritz all over your body before getting changed, as well as spritzing all over you instead of using perfume. I always get compliments on these and they’re a really good price too and come in loads of different scents. I definitely recommend giving them a go if you fancy trying a new brand of body sprays.

Fashion

  • Standard Fox Sweatshirt.

Standard is a clothing brand in Fuerteventura and it’s always a store I visit whenever I’m on the island. Me and Dane both went in when we were there in September/October and Dane picked up a Stormtrooper t-shirt and I picked up this sweatshirt. It’s one of the most comfortable ones I own and it compliments so many outfits, oh and it’s also VERY warm! I wore it on our last day in Fuerteventura when we were coming home and let me tell you, wearing a sweatshirt and jeans for 7 hours in a hot airport is NOT GOOD. 😛 I wear this with jeans as well as my denim shorts and tights. When we had snow I LIVED in this as it kept me lovely and snug, without being too cold or even too warm.

  • Ohayou Clothing Umbreon Varsity Jacket.

This is my go to jacket whenever I’m not at work basically, as I don’t think an Umbreon jacket would go down all that well, do you? 😛 I live in this though whenever I’m not at work, as as well as my Eevee version too. I bought this in October and since then have worn it loads! I really want to get more of Ohayou’s varsity jackets as they also have a Vaporeon and Sylveon versions I would love to have.

  • Primark Knitted Dress.

This is a dress I forgot I owned until before Christmas. I still have some bits and pieces of  mine left at my mom’s house which I need to go through and decide whether to keep or sell. I went to have a look for some potential work pieces and found this dress there. The last 2 times I’d worn it were both at funerals, my cousins and my grans so I decided to stop wearing it as I felt it was “tainted” with negative vibes. However since bringing it home I’ve worn it loads for work and it’s so comfortable and flattering on my figure. I don’t see it as being tainted anymore, but more of a dress I decided to wear to celebrate both my cousin and my grans lives.

  • Marks & Spencer Red Star Shirt.

I bought this dress not long before I went to Fuerteventura and even took it over there with me, although I didn’t wear it once! I love wearing this shirt for work, as well as for personal use. The first time I wore it was for a meal out with Dane and his parents. I teamed it with my denim shorts and tights and I felt so adorable! Now I’ll team it up with a black skater shirt and smart work trousers.

  • YURI!!! On Ice Cardigan.

Not going to lie, my new job was such an excuse for me to buy this cardigan… 😛 I wanted it for ages but at the time it was so expensive at £41.99 but when it went down to £24.99 I snatched it up, as did my best friend Gabriella (HEYYY! :D) so we’re cardigan besties. 😛 This is the most comfortable cardigan I own though and I wore it to death the first week I owned it! I still wear it loads as it’s got really long sleeves and isn’t too thick so isn’t too warm to wear in the office. I wear it with any outfit it’ll work with pretty much.

Lifestyle

  • Persona 5 on PlayStation 4.

This has to be the number one favourite thing of mine from 2017 and thankfully just before the end of the year I FINALLY FINISHED IT and guess what? I’m currently replaying it! Who would have guessed then, eh? This was definitely the game of the year for me and for anyone who knows me, they know how obsessed I have grown for this game and how much more I want from it. Since buying and playing Persona 5, I have since bought and downloaded Persona 4: Golden as well as Persona 4: Dancing All Night. I equally can’t wait for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and especially for Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. I really want to review Persona 5 at some point but I’m crap at writing game reviews, I just want to write over and over how much I love it and that’s it. 😛

  • Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name Anime.

This film had to be the most popular anime film that came out in 2017 and it is clear why. It was a gorgeous film both visually as well as the story line and as soon as me and Dane got the chance to go and watch it, we took it with both hands. I loved the film so much so when Dane’s parents bought me it on Blu-ray I was thrilled! For my birthday a couple of days ago we got some takeaway Japanese food and popped this on the TV to watch. I forgot how much I loved it and this time we watched it in subbed, we watched dubbed at the cinema. I much prefer it in dubbed. 😛 If you haven’t watched this film but love anime, GET ON IT!

  • South Park: The Fractured But Whole on PlayStation 4.

Although I was super excited for this game Persona 5 was the one that stole my heart in 2017. However, this game really holds a place in my heart for various different reasons. I love South Park and have done since it came out in the UK back in the 90’s. It was on Comedy Central as well as on Channel 4 late at night and it was my mom who introduced me to the show. Me and my cousins would stay up late to watch them together and if we never managed to, my aunt would record them for us to watch over the weekend. It was amazing! So when they announced a second game I was super excited! I grew pissed off though at the constant push backs of the release but eventually it stuck and before I knew it it was in my hands and then in my console being played. I finished it not long before Christmas and oh man, what a game! It was definitely different from The Stick Of Truth and I actually think I preferred it due to the story. I’m not saying anything but I wasn’t expecting what happened. This is another game I would love to review, but I’d be dire at it. 😛

  • American Horror Story TV Series.

Me and Dane started watching this in 2017 and oh man I love it so much, even though we’re very slow on continuing with it at the moment. Series 1 is by far my favourite one to date and the show is just so good. It pulls you in and yet keeps you on the edge of your seat all the same. The acting in it is incredible, especially by Evan Peters who I have fallen in love with thanks to the show, as well as his role of Tate. I can’t wait to continue watching the TV series in 2018.

  • A Silent Voice Manga.

This was by far one of my favourite manga to read this year, as well as one of my favourite anime movies alongside Kimi No Na Wa/Your Name. The manga just shouted out more to me and I found I enjoyed it that little more as you get more about the story from it, as well as learn more about the characters after the film ends. If you loved the anime, I recommend you go and read the manga as it’s so good!

So those are all my picks for my 2017 favourites! I could have picked so many more things, but I thought keeping it to a top 5 was for the best. 😛

What were your favourite things throughout 2017? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!
