I cannot tell you how excited I have been for this plush to arrive from Japan and YY Kawaii this month. To make matters worse I had to wait almost a week to get this from the Post Office as I missed delivery and was only able to pick it up from the collection office this morning.
Since I got this cutie home I have been in love and so has Dane in all fairness. I just knew I had to share this plush with you all today, especially with how excited I was for Detective Pikachu hitting cinemas a couple of weeks ago. I even wrote a wish list Wednesday post about it just a few days before the release date and this plush was featured on it.
I knew I wanted to pick something up from whatever the Pokemon Centre decided to bring out for Detective Pikachu but I was surprised at the announcement of a lifesize Detective Pikachu, but knew I had to have it.
Just to announce this now, this lifesize plush is now sold out and isn’t easy to pick up now and if it is it’s not cheap! I’ve found it online for over £100 already and it’s crazy! I paid £60 for mine (not inc postage on that price) and whilst I know a lot of people will comment how this is a waste of money, or far too much, it is so worth the price to me.
This really is lifesize with a height of 50cm from the tips of the ears, down to the toes. It’s so squishy too, which makes it perfect for cuddling. It’s also really soft to the touch, which makes cuddling it even better in all honesty. Everything about this plush is cuddly, even in the arms, ears and tail. I don’t know if you can tell from the above image but this plush is so soft to the touch. It’s definitely comforting whilst cuddling it due to this. It’s just so incredibly soft and I’m a massive sucker for anything like that as I find it can help my anxiety if it’s ever really bad.
Just all the little details of this plush are gorgeous, the main one I notice being the the cheeks where Pikachu’s red patches are. These aren’t a piece of material stuck on, but instead the colour has been added on with paint, dye, etc. Overall the fact is so sweet and the eyes are huge, which is good considering the size of the plush! I think the only issue I have (when looking close up) is the mouth is wonky… But this isn’t anyone’s fault really.
One thing I really love about this plush is the cute little feet! These are so small they aren’t fully noticeable at first, but when looking closer at the plush, they are adorable. I just had to show them on the post.
Of course it wouldn’t be Detective Pikachu without his deerstalker hat! I didn’t think this would be a plush in itself, but it is which is pretty good. I honestly thought it was going to be hollow, but alas it isn’t. It’s attached to the Pikachu plush so you won’t have to worry about it falling off or anything like that too.
Ooo that Pikachu booty! I thought I would show the back of this plush, as it’s equally as good as the front! The Pikachu tail is surprisingly squishy and stays in place really nicely. I was definitely surprised by the tail when I opened the packaging it arrived it and gave it a squish.
The brown sections on Pikachu’s back are separate pieces of material that have been sewn into the plush so not dyed on like the red cheeks.
Of course I had to include some photos of me with my gorgeous new plush! I’m pretty sure you can tell from the photos just how big this plush is compared to myself. It’s bloody big as you can see, but it’s equally amazing.
I’m so in love with my new plush and to be honest with you, for the price I am so glad I bought it! I don’t quite know where it’s going to live in my house yet. It seems to have settled itself on the back of my sofa for now… But I’m sure this isn’t where it will stay.
Have you guys been to see Detective Pikachu yet? If so, what did you think of it?
Have you purchased from YY Kawaii before? I mentioned recently how I have become a brand affiliate for them, which you can read about here. This officially starts on the 1st June, so keep eyes peeled for some exciting posts with them on my blog.
I do apologise for how quiet I’ve been on my blog and social media the past week – I’ve actually been really poorly as well as busy and rest and having social time has been what I’ve wanted.
I’ll try and make sure to keep up with both my blog and social media after the bank holiday! 🙂
Anyhoo, I hope all of my readers are well and enjoyed this evenings post!
Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely bank holiday weekend so far!
