May Empties

DSC_0006

DSC_0007

I know I said last month that I would try and get back on schedule with my empties blog posts and indeed I am keeping to my word, but to be honest even if I didn’t want to do one this month to try and gather more empties for next month, I am making myself as my purple empties bag is too full!

I used up a lot of products during May and quite frankly I’m really quite pleased!DSC_0008

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner.

This toner was lovely and although it caused me some issues after using it for a while it settled down once again on my skin and I was able to use it once more without any irritation. This was lovely and cooling on warm days and I would love to own this again during the hot summer months, however I want to give all the other face care ranges a go from The Body Shop.

  • Soap & Glory Scrub Of Your Life Body Scrub.

When I first got my hands on this in December I loved it! However as the months went on I grew to really dislike it and after a while I counted down the uses until it was finally finished with and out of my shower. For me this was more of a shower gel with little exfoliating particles inside of it, not a body scrub. I’ve come across better body scrubs than this one and the only positive is that it bubbles up like a shower gel. This being said what put me off the most is how strong scented it was of the pink Soap & Glory scent, which I have grown to dislike due to this scrub. I won’t be buying this again, however this hasn’t put me off trying any other of Soap & Glory’s body scrubs.

  • Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Bath Cream.

This bath cream was a real treat to use and was something I found myself reaching for every other bath I had after a long day at work. The scent of it was a lovely coconut type scent which left me feeling clean and fresh, as well as smelling gorgeous and ready for bed. I would definitely buy this again, you can’t go wrong with Imperial Leather, especially when it comes to their bath and shower products.

  • I Love… Cosmetics Choca Mocha Lala Shower Cream.

I bought this shower cream as a spur of the moment purchase when I was in Home Bargains with my boyfriend about a month ago and since then we both used it all up. I really do wish I’d bought a couple of these as they were only 79p a bottle and were gorgeous! It smelt of chocolate and reminded me of The Body Shop’s chocolate shower cream, but better! This smelt more like chocolate than The Body Shop’s version and was a hell of a lot cheaper too! I took this with me to the Lake District for me and my boyfriend to use and when we got home we used the last bit up. I really do miss this shower cream so I think I’ll be looking for it to pick up again. I really love I Love… Cosmetics products!

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this product before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

DSC_0009

  • Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Sensitive.

I can’t believe that I used up two of these in a row! It shows how busy I’ve been to use up so much deodorant as you don’t really need a lot of this product as it goes a long way. If you want to read a more in depth review of this, you can check that out here.

  • Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm.

I’m actually really sad to see this all finished as I really love it! I do have another tiny pot that I’m yet to start but I’m probably going to save it until I’ve used up some of my other cleansers first, as you do. This balm is gorgeous though! I thought I wasn’t going to like it when I first tried it as it looked really greasy but when you mix the balm with water it goes into a lovely creamy cleanser, but it doesn’t foam up. These can be good if you suffer from dry skin, but as my skin is quite greasy as it is I do wonder if it set it off to break out at times, as since not using this due to it running out, I haven’t broken out nearly half as much! It also smells really refreshing which you can’t go wrong with, especially in the mornings and during the warm summer days too. I would repurchase this, it’s a gorgeous balm!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks in Very Berry and Lemon Sherbert.

Now I don’t know if I’m not allergic to Montagne Jeunesse’s face masks, or if I was having a bad day on the days I used these masks, but my skin has never burnt so much in my life! I’ve used Very Berry on many occasions and it’s a lovely mask to use for hydration and moisturisation but when I applied this to my skin my face felt on fire so I only left it on for a couple of minutes until I couldn’t stand it anymore and washed it off. If you thought that sounded bad, Lemon Sherbert was WORSE! I applied it to the skin and my face was on fire straight away and I was screaming in pain as I tried my best to wash it off and ease the pain. My face was red raw afterwards and I felt really quite saddened about the whole thing as I love lemon and was really looking forward to giving the mask a go. I’m sure it’s just my sensitive skin reacting to the masks and it’s not the masks themselves.

So those were my empties for May! Not as many as I thought there were (unless there were loads and I didn’t realise it) but either way I did use up a lot of products in May which I’m really pleased about. Means more room to try more things!

What did you use up during May? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well so far.

February Empties

DSC_00050

Okay, I am well aware of how late this post is (nearly 2 weeks to be exact!) and I apologise for that. I did mentioned on this post here as to why I’ve been so quiet this month so far, although I am trying to change that now.

So I’ve finally sat down at my laptop away from the distractions of my iPad and my new Nintendo 2DS to get this post, as well as another written up.

Let’s FINALLY get on with this post!

DSC_00060

  • Sainsbury’s Fresh Mint Mouthwash.

This was a quick and cheap purchase I made one evening a month or so ago when I popped into Sainsbury’s after work and it was definitely just a one-off purchase. This wasn’t a bad mouthwash, it certainly did the job but it was just a tad too alcoholic for my mouth as it would burn is used alone, so I’d end up mixing it with water. It didn’t cost much, probably no more than £1 and it certainly did the job as it left my breath fresh and my teeth felt clean and lovely. I might buy this again in future if I’m need for something cheap and cheerful, but otherwise it’s a no from me.

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I’ve mentioned this on various posts before, if you wish to read about it, go search for it above. 🙂

  • Mandara Spa Moisturising Bath Essence in Amber Heaven.

This bath essence is beautiful and I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before in the past! It has a lovely warm scent to it, due to the amber inside of it and when it’s put into the bath under running water it creates lovely smelling bubbles really quickly. By the time my bath is fully run, it’s also filled with soft bubbles! I don’t know how much this cost as my Mom bought it me about a year ago after a trip to Sainsbury’s, but I know from checking out the Mandara Spa products before they aren’t exactly cheap! This being said, I was using this bath essence once a week as both a bubble bath, as well as a shower gel. My Mom bless her saw that I had run out and bought me another one, as she knows how much I love it. Even if she hadn’t of bought me this again herself, I would have picked it up again as it’s a lovely product, smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling and smelling lovely.

DSC_0007

  • The Body Shop Seaweed Day Cream.

I bought this day cream back in November when I purchased one of the Seaweed sets from The Body Shop. Although this is a good face cream, I wouldn’t buy it again. When I went into The Body Shop and got my skin type tested and such, I came out as Seaweed, although since then I don’t think I am this at all, my reason for this is due to the fact this face cream at times was actually stinging my skin. Not good! This didn’t happen all the time, once a week maximum but it still bothered me and eventually I couldn’t wait to see the back of this product! Overall I’m  pleased with how this DID help my skin as well as how long this tub lasted me was great. I have really liked trying out the set I bought from The Body Shop and soon enough when some of my other products run out I’ll be buying myself another set to try. I would buy this again as it was good for the majority, but for now I’d like to try something that may work better with my skin such as aloe vera or tea tree.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I LOVE this shave gel so much and it’s all I’ll use to shave with now, and I recommend it to every lady out there who shaves! I’ve written about this many times before, so go and search for it above if you wish to know more.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask.

I love this mud mask, it really does help when I’m about to, or just after I’ve broken out as it helps to calm down any spots that are about to come up as it prevents redness. As well as that it helps to dry up any current spots. For less than a £1 it’s a great mask to use once or twice a month and at the time of writing up this post, I think I’m going to pop one of these on after I’ve finished writing this up, as I’m a bit spotty at the moment and it’s driving me mad! xD

So those were my empties from February! I apologise again for it being late, but I did explain on a previous post which is linked above as to why I’ve been so quiet lately.

Here’s to keeping busy and live with my blog again!

Until next time, take care all, it’s good to be back. 🙂

Random (But Small) Haul

DSC_0021

Okay now I KNOW I’m on a spending ban and that I didn’t need most of what I bought on this random trip into town… But I did buy things and there’s nothing that can be done about it now!

I have my first photography related job next Saturday and I wanted to pick up something nice to wear, plus the fact I had my eye on one of the items for a while gave me more reason to try it on and possibly buy it.

Alongside that I had to buy some other bits and bobs and I did buy a few things I didn’t need but they were less than £10 so I thought, what the hell!

I didn’t spend all that much and the things I bought I was pretty much in need of anyway or wanted to treat myself.

So, here’s my random haul from yesterday!

DSC_0028

The first shop I went into when my boyfriend and I got to town was New Look. I’ve been lusting after this dress since I saw it in one of the Coventry stores a couple of weeks ago. It’s a gorgeous 2 in 1 t-shirt dress and will be perfect for spring and summer! It’s not the thickest of materials, but that doesn’t bother me, as with a warm coat, a scarf, some thick tights and my Chelsea boots, this will look great! I’m doing my first “professional” photography job next Saturday and as the dress is smart casual, I saw the chance to finally pick up this dress! It was £14.99, which I thought was reasonable! I went to try it on in the changing rooms and it looks lovely. My only problem with this dress is that the pink top area is very see-through and due to this I had to pick up a new bra so that none of mine would show through… Which you will see in the next picture.

DSC_0025

DSC_0026

I ventured into Primark to pick up a cheap bra, as I didn’t want to splurge out on something expensive, so after trying on a few of the bras, I opted for this pink t-shirt bra. It only cost £2.50, so I couldn’t go wrong really! This being said, when I got home I tried on the bra with the dress and you can still see straight through it! But with a white vest underneath, it looks fine so my problem is now solved. Whilst I was waiting in the large queue to purchase my items, I saw that they had some Montagne Jeunesse face masks that not only sounded delicious, but ones I haven’t tried yet, so I snapped them up, at only 90p each, you can’t go wrong!

When I was on the escalator to go and look at the bras I spotted this Nirvana t-shirt on the middle floor and I was determined to go and take a look at it before I went to pay for my goods. I picked this up for just £8.00! I did have a look at the other t-shirts whilst I was in Primark and the majority of them are all My Little Pony… Odd! I tried this t-shirt on when I got home and it’s gorgeous! It’s a nice baggy, but fitted t-shirt and is super soft! I’m going to wear it next week when I go out with my friend Amy into Birmingham for the day, as well as for my cousin’s 21st birthday meal. I’m going to team it up with my newest Topshop jeans, Chelsea boots and a big coat to keep me warm.

DSC_0022

I have been after this book since I watched the film in 2013, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! I had remembered seeing it in HMV for £3 or £4 before Christmas and had regretted not picking it up! I looked online earlier this week for how much this was being sold on Amazon, Play.com, eBay, etc and they were all asking for over £4! I decided against paying out that much and that I would check in HMV the next time I ventured there. So alas upon looking for this book I found it and at just £3.99! Complete bargain and I’ll be reading this after I’ve finished the current book I’m reading, which is Simon Pegg’s autobiography, Nerd Do Well.

DSC_0024

My final stop for the day was Boots, where I just popped in to pick up some essentials, such as hand wash, toothpaste and some glasses cleaner. This isn’t the usual glasses cleaner I pick up, but it’ll do for now until I pick up what I usually use.

So that was everything I bought whilst I was odd… That and the £25 I spent buying food in YO! Sushi. My boyfriend and I couldn’t believe how much the bill came to and we’ve both said we’re never going again unless it’s on a Monday or Sunday. We much prefer Wagamama and even though it was nice trying the dishes in YO! Sushi, we somewhat wished we had gone to Wagamama now…

Altogether (apart from my food!) I spent less than £50! Not bad huh?

I know I’ve somewhat broke my spending ban, but whatever, I’ve not done too badly so far so let’s just say this was my little treat.

Have you bought anything nice recently? If so, what have you bought? Let me know in the comments down below!

I’m hoping to get some What I Wore posts up on my blog in the future, as I really do miss writing them and with my wardrobe slightly changing of late, I’d like to show off what I’ve been wearing.

So, until next time, take care all and I hope everyone has had a great week and an even greater weekend!

January Empties

DSC_0007

Another month, another bag of empty products to show off to you and I have to add, this months empties and the first empties of 2014 are boring! So this post isn’t going to be very long at all… Sadly.

I’m sure they’ll be more interesting as the months fly by, but for January, it’s boring. Sorry in advance!

DSC_0008

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

These will be featuring a lot in my empties videos in future and there should be another one of these in the photo, but I only used up another bottle after the 1st February. I love this hand wash, so much so I spend nearly £5.00 a month just to use it, but I’ve started to buy it in bulk just so I have one spare in the cupboard incase. As I’ve mentioned on previous favourites and empties posts, this is the only hand wash that leaves my hands lovely and soft, as well as smelling great and being clean! I recommend this hand wash to everyone and they come in various different ones, not just honey! Due to this keep being in my empties posts, I don’t think I will mention this again in future, although I will show it in my pictures. What’s the point in keep mentioning this! xD

  • Asda Essentials Sensitive Shave Gel for men.

Yes this is for men! But I couldn’t afford the Gillette shave gel at the time and whilst I was buying some food I picked this up for less than £2.00. It was horrible and quite frankly I’m glad it’s finished! It caused me to have rashes on my legs and under my arms which wasn’t any nice and I ended up giving my boyfriend the last of this to use up to shave his ginger stubble off with. I’m glad to see the back of this and won’t be buying it again, unless my boyfriend is in need of a cheap shave gel!

  • T-Zone Spot Zapping Stick.

I actually wrote a negative review on these a couple of years ago now as for a while I was getting terrible spots after using this, but I think that was down to a face wash, or product I was using at the time. However since then I have been using this again and not had any problems! The only problem I have now is that I don’t think you can buy this anymore and instead I’ve bought a gel version of this. This is a liquid which is a roller ball and you roll it onto the skin however you do so wish. This won’t break the bank to buy and I think depending where you buy it it’ll be £1.00-£2.00. You can pick these up pretty cheap in Home Bargains and Body Care. These are great for on the go as all you have to do is roll the product on where you want it to go and voila, you’re done! This is a great product and I feel rather bad writing a negative review but I guess things change.

DSC_0009

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditioner in Dry Skin.

I have two of these here that are both samples I received back before Christmas and I thought I would start to use them up. I have owned the full size version of this product in the past and at first I loved it, but after I while I grew to think it was just easier, as well as nicer to just stop being lazy and apply a body lotion after having a bath or shower. I think this stuff smells vile and since being reminded about that, I’ve realised that I don’t like this product at all and will probably give away the rest of the samples I have to friends, family, etc. I prefer to use a dry skin lotion that I used to use to wash my hands with, it does just as good a job and doesn’t have a horrible smell to it.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Face Spa Fabric Face Mask.

I love this mask and I will keep saying it every time it pops up in my empties! This is one of the quicker and easier face masks to use out of all the Montagne Jeunesse masks. You pop this on your face and sit back with a good book for 5-10 minutes, or like me until I reach a new chapter! This masks contains dead sea salt and seaweed which is great for combination skin like mine and also leaves your skin feeling clean, soft and refreshed! I love this mask and will keep buying it as long as it’s available to buy in shops.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry & Cream Face Mask.

I HATED this mask! It caused me to break out and have terrible rashes all over my face and I just wish I hadn’t used this. The smell of this was beautiful though and the only positive side of this mask… Alongside the fact that it didn’t break the bank to buy this. It didn’t do anything good for my skin and quite frankly it wasn’t worth the money at all. BLAH what a load of bloody rubbish!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Mask Face Mask.

However I do LOVE this mask and it’s one of the few I can use and my skin will be beautiful after use. It leaves my skin feeling and looking lovely and soft, as well as fresh and gorgeous looking. It also smells amazing, just like hot chocolate! It contains chocolate and shea butter so this does nothing but positives to my skin, as it just adores shea butter. I always say nothing but good things about this mask and I think in future I will just be picking this one up, alongside the sheet masks as these seem to be the only masks that don’t break me out or cause rashes.

So those were my empties from January! I told you it wouldn’t be anything special, didn’t I? Sorry about that!

What were your empty products this month? Do you like or hate any of the ones I mentioned above? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all!

December Empties

DSC_0286

The final empties post of 2013 is upon us and I’ve never had so many products used up before as I have done during December! I forgot I’d even used certain things up when I was looking through the bag to take pictures! I’m glad I’ve used quite a bit up, as it’s meant more room for new things that I received over Christmas.

So without further ado, let’s get on with this post!

DSC_0287

  • Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo in Citrus Fresh.

For 2014 I have decided to stop using Head & Shoulders and since I stopped using it during December, my hair has improved dramatically and I’m not wasting nearly £5 every two to three months buying the shampoo. My Dad and boyfriend still use it mind, so that’s fine with me. Even though I usually used the Sensitive one, I picked up the Citrus Fresh months ago to try out and it was really nice! It left my hair smelling fresh and like lemons and it obviously did a good job of cleaning my hair too. I don’t really miss using Head & Shoulders and I don’t think I’ll ever buy it again, as in reality this stuff is probably one of the worst things you could buy and use on your hair so for 2014 I’m steering clear of this!

  • Possibility Ultra Rich Shower Gel, Shampoo & Bubble Bath in Peppermint Ice Cream.

I rather like the Possibility shower gels, they remind me of a cheaper version of Philosophy and with all the talk going around blogs about Philosophy, Possibility is probably better for your skin too. This shower gel smelt just like mint ice cream, which I love! This is a multipurpose shower gel as you can use it on your hair and in the bath too! I often used this in the bath alongside a Lush bath bomb, I never used it on my hair as I didn’t feel the need to. As much as I loved this shower gel, I am glad to see it finished and in the bin as I just wasn’t enjoying using it as much as I had when I first bought it and to use it seemed more of a chore than a pleasure. I eventually used it up in the bath and that was that. This does leave your skin feeling soft and smelling sweet, but you would of course need to use a moisturiser alongside it. I would buy this again, but when that will be, I don’t know.

  • Sainsbury’s Extra Care Alcohol Free Mouthwash in Sensitive.

I love my mouthwash and I keep trying different ones to try and find a favourite, but as of yet I haven’t seemed to find it, although this mouthwash was really nice for the money! Please excuse the mold at the bottom of the bottom! It’s gross I know. >.< Anyhoo! This mouthwash was lovely because it didn’t feel like it was burning the inside of my mouth when I used it, which is always a bonus for me! My mouth felt squeaky clean whenever I used it and when I popped into Sainsbury’s to pick up another bottle, I was saddened to see that the shelf these were kept on was empty and I was forced to try another one, which wasn’t such a bad thing. I would buy this again, but I need to find it first! 😛

DSC_0288

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hand wash and everything about it! I wrote quite a lot about it in my top 10 favourites from 2013 post yesterday, which you can check out here if you’re interested. I’m already low on  my second bottle of this and have bought a new one, ready for when the current one runs low! I’m so glad that Dettol and E45 teamed up to make this hand wash, it really has been something sent from heaven for my hands.

  • Royal Jelly Foam Bath.

I’m pretty sure this is from a gift set and I’m also pretty sure it was from Boots. One afternoon this suddenly turned up in my bathroom and I can only imagine my Mom put it in there for me to use. It smells really nice and reminds me of the Royal Jelly sets I used to buy my Mom as a child every Christmas, birthday and Mother’s Day. It’s not really something I would buy myself and people would know better than to gift this to me as I’m not the biggest fan of Royal Jelly, but this was really quite nice to use in the bath if I just wanted a quick soak. It left my skin feeling lovely and soft as well as leaving me smelling gorgeous too! I wouldn’t purchase this myself mind, it was a nice treat and that’s all it’ll ever be I think.

  • Palmolive Nourishing Delight with Honey & Moisturising Milk Shower Milk.

I cannot tell you how much I love this shower milk and how many years I have been using it on and off for! I first discovered this shower milk in 2004 when my family and I went on holiday. We took a huge bottle of this stuff with us to use and I fell in love with it! I remember running myself a bath and putting loads in, only to discover it was creating so many bubbles that there were more of those than of water! Since then I’ve purchased a couple of bottles but only during the summer did I pick up this little travel size. I bought loads of them to take with me to my boyfriends for whenever I stayed over, to save using his shower gel. But eventually I just started doing that and this got put in the back of my cupboard, which I delightfully discovered towards the end of December. This shower milk smells just like honey and cream, which is something I love the smell of, it’s also a very thick shower cream and a little really does go a long way! It leaves my skin feeling as soft as a babies bum and smells just as delicious on the skin as it does in the bottle. I was rather delighted to see that the morning I finished this sample tube off, was also the day my Mom bought a huge 750ml version of this and popped it on the bath for me! I haven’t been able to stop using it and it’ll probably end up on my January favourites list at this rate! I recommend everyone to try this, it’s a must have, especially for winter.

DSC_0289

  • Sure Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant in Sensitive.

I love this deodorant and it’s another favourite that found its way onto my top 10 favourites list for 2013! You can read more about it on this post here but I shall talk a little about it here too. This lasted me quite a long time, probably 6 months or more as you only need a little bit and it goes a long way. Since using this deodorant I don’t have to worry about sweating so much so that means no worrying about sweat patches or about horrible B.O.! This isn’t cheap at over £5.00 but for how long it lasts, it’s well worth the money!

  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel.

I love this moisturising gel but sadly it finally came to the end of the tube and I was forced to throw it away, sad times, very sad times! For about two or three years all I used was Clinique but due to lack of funds right now, I can’t afford it and I’ve had to change down to somewhat cheaper brands, which appear to be working well for my skin! I loved this gel because it stopped my skin from feeling dry and not oily at the same time, which was lovely! Sadly this isn’t the cheapest moisturiser in the world and until I have a spare near £30 I won’t be able to buy a replacement tube. I recommend the gel to anyone who suffers from terribly dry skin but also suffers with oily skin too, so a definite must for people with combination skin.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Light Cream.

At first I loved this moisturiser, but now I actually quite hate it and I’m glad to see it in the bin! My Mom gave this to me after I’d run out of moisturiser and was in desperate need of some more so she suggested I try this one. At first I loved it and it made my skin feel lovely and soft but after a while I grew to dislike using it, mostly for the strange consistency of the cream, which to me doesn’t feel light at all, plus I don’t like the smell of this all that much. Actually I wouldn’t say I hated this, as it did a good job as a moisturiser whilst I was at my boyfriends, but I am rather glad to see this in the bin. It isn’t a bad product, just not one for me!

DSC_0291

  • Lush FUN in Pink.

I LOVE Lush’s FUN products and by the end of this year I want to have tried them all! I currently have a brand new bar of FUN Gold in my Lush box (yes, I have a box full of Lush products) that I dare not use incase I love it so much that by the time it’s finished I’ll need to cry due to wanting more. Okay, that was dramatic but I do love their FUN products because, they’re fun! They’re a multipurpose product which you can use as a shampoo, bubble bar, body wash and as it’s like Play-Doh, you can play with it in the bath, which makes this a great product for kids! Pink FUN smells has the exact same scent as Creamy Candy Bubble Bar and Rock Star Soap, which in turn are two of my favourite products from Lush! It smells like creamy vanilla with sweets and maybe some fruit in there too. It’s just so amazing to smell, it’s made my purple Liberty London bag smell amazing! I’ll be picking this up again from Lush, I’d be stupid not to.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks in Deep Sea Mud Pac and Chocolate Mud Pie.

I thought I would include these two together on the same point, seeing as they’re both by the same brand, but they both do different things to the skin, etc. The first one I will be talking about is the Deep Sea mask, which I tried for the first time with this sachet. I had always liked the look of it, shamefully due to the fact it was a blue mask, come on, who else isn’t drawn to blue things, huh?! So anyway I thought for 99p I would pick it up to try and I’m really glad I did as this mask was amazing! It smells just like a aftershave and contains seaweed and kelp to leave your skin feeling clean and free from stress. The dead sea minerals in the mask work deep into the pores to penetrate and draw any impurities out of the skin and since using this mask I have noticed the blackheads on my nose look smaller, which is great! I’ll definitely buy this mask again as it really did feel nice to use whilst I was in the bath. Finally we have Chocolate Mud Pie, which is an amazing chocolate face mask! As I mentioned in my top 10 favourites from 2013 (which you can read here) this was one of my favourite products from the year and here I shall explain why! This mask smells just like chocolate and is a very thick mask, which was a nice change. It contains cocoa and shea butter which are great for softening the skin. This left my skin feeling soft and smooth and my pores looked a little smaller too, which was great! For 90p this mask was well worth the money and since buying this one to try I’ve already bought another two, one which I will be using the night before my birthday to ensure my skin looks awesome for when my boyfriend and I go out to celebrate it. I’ve tried the Cupcake Face Mask by Lush and I really don’t rate it. My skin broke out after using it and I was tempted to put in a complaint, but alas I left it and dealt with it. If you have the same issues with Cupcake as I do, then try Montagne Jeunesse’s chocolate face mask, it’s amazing and will leave you face soft and smooth with zero break outs!

So those were my empties from December! There was a lot huh? It’s taken me two hours just to get this post written, but I was getting distracted whilst writing it up! Either way I’m glad I was able to use up so many products during December as it means I have room for all the new ones I received over Christmas.

What products did you use up over December? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all!tmbc5

2013’s Top 10 Favourites

Well I can’t believe 2013 has come and gone, and boy what a year it has been! I’m glad to be starting a New Year and with that I thought I would share my top 10 favourites from 2013! I probably couldn’t have picked any favourites from December itself as due to Christmas and such I was so busy trying to get everything sorted, as well as working and being with my boyfriend, my family and my friends.

So here are my top 10 favourites!

  • Sure Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Cream in Sensitive.

Since buying this deodorant in the summer time, it’s by far one of the best things I’ve EVER bought and since getting it, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to live without it. I sweat terribly during the winter time so when the summer comes upon us I panic like crazy about if I’ll leave patches on clothes or smell really bad. However since buying this stuff I’ve not had an problems at all! You’re meant to apply this before you go to bed and even if you shower it off in the morning, it’ll still work. However I just apply it when I’m getting ready after a shower and it works for me that way. I’ve only recently started my second one of these, so it lasts a long time as you really don’t need a lot of product, it goes a long way. I have this in sensitive due to my sensitive skin. This isn’t cheap and costs just over £5.00 but it’s definitely worth it if you suffer with terrible sweating like myself. I was close to going to my doctor for help, but this stuff has saved me the embarrassment!

  • Diesel Loverdose EDP.

I’ve owned this perfume for quite a while now, since it came out in 2011 to be exact and since November time it’s been running out and I desperately need another bottle! My boyfriend loves when I wear this perfume and I do too as it smells gorgeous and nothing like I’ve smelt before. It contains various notes such as liquorice, vanilla, mandarin, star anise and dry woods. This is a scent I wear all year around, but more so during the colder months as it has a lovely warming scent to it. I was going to try and pick another 30ml bottle up in the sales but I really need to save money right now. Hopefully I can get a bottle in the near future, as when this runs out I’ll be rather sad.

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I LOVE this hand wash and although I’ve been using it more towards the end of the year it has fast become one of the best hand washes I’ve ever used. As regular readers will know, I suffer from eczema on my hands and most hand washes can irritate it and make it worse, however this hand wash helps it and keeps my hands lovely and soft. This is because of the E45 and after you wash your hands with this you can feel how soft it leaves your hands afterwards too, which is great. As well as that it smells of honey and the Dettol inside makes sure to wash off any bacteria, thus leaving your hands smelling lovely, feeling soft and being germ free. What more could you want from a hand wash?!

  • Aqueous Cream.

As well as the steroid cream I get from my doctor for my eczema, my aqueous cream is amazing stuff and seems to be the only thing that keeps my hands soft and smooth. I use various different hand creams and more during December than any other month, so I didn’t feel I could really include those in my top 10 for 2013, but I’m sure they will feature in a post in the near future! However aqueous cream is an amazing invention and my boyfriend bought me this massive tub a few months ago as something to use alongside my eczema cream. I use this alongside that, as well as on its own but it’s also amazing to use on any dry patches on skin, which I sometimes get on my face. You don’t need a lot of this and it goes a long way and I always apply it after washing my hands to ensure that my hands stay lovely and soft. This huge tub cost £2 and for the new year I’m going to be finding a little pump tub or tube to keep this on for when I’m at work. I recommend this stuff to anyone, it’s especially lovely to use in the bath if you’re suffering from dry skin, as well as using it in place of a shower gel. Amazing product for not much money!

  • Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo.

Over the year I’ve owned this shampoo a couple of times and the first time I owned it, I really couldn’t get on with it and if anything I hated it. I felt that it was making my hair thin, not thick like it is supposed to. You need to ensure your hair is soaking wet to ensure you get a lather with this otherwise it won’t give you any lather, I learnt this after months of usage. This shampoo smells amazing and I love sniffing my hair after I use it (didn’t just sniff my hair!) and I don’t really know if it’s making my hair thicker, but my hair feels and smells lovely and clean, as well as leaving it feeling soft and gorgeous looking. Over the past month or two I’ve only just started to enjoy this shampoo and use it once a week, alongside my tea tree shampoo which I use once or twice a week. I would love to try more of the Philip Kingsley shampoos, as they seem like amazing products and well worth the money!

  • Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion.

I bought this lotion back around the start of 2013 and around the end of spring I sadly stopped using this due to work and being too busy to apply it due to needing to leave the house in a rush. This being said this lotion is amazing and is the most used one of  2013! Since getting loads of Soap & Glory products in the Yule Monty gift set I have realised I do really need to keep my body moisturised and it’s something that a lot of us seem to neglect due to lack of time or laziness, mine being the latter. Since Christmas Day I have been moisturising more, only not doing it on the odd occasion due to not feeling too well. Smoothie Star is one of my favourite lotions as it smells of vanilla and honey, which is of course a smell enjoyed by many, including myself. I will be using this body lotion before work as it’s a very nourishing lotion but it’s rather thin so as soon as you rub this onto the skin it will begin to sink in and get to work, which is good! It only takes me 5-10 minutes to apply this to the skin and doesn’t feel sticky or take ages to dry! I can’t wait to start using this again and probably will for my birthday in a couple of days!

  • Montagne Jeunesse various face masks.

I love Montagne Jeunesse face masks, usually clay or sheet ones as the peel off masks really irritate my sensitive skin and causes break outs to happen. But this being said the clay and sheet masks leave my skin feeling clean, soft and fresh and usually something I use at night-time during a hot bath or whilst I do some blog writing. My favourite this year is probably the Tea Tree and Dead Sea sheet masks, alongside the Chocolate clay mask. The Tea Tree mask helps when I have break outs as it calms them down and stops any redness too, this one proved to be amazing during the summer as the tingling and cooling feeling the mask left behind on my skin really helped to cool me down during the hot summer nights. The Dead Sea mask is just lovely to have as a treat if my skin is feeling and looking a little dull and needs some perking up, I use this one at least once a month, maybe once every two months depending. Like the Tea Tree mask, it leaves my skin feeling tingly and a little cold which is lovely during the summer too. Finally the Chocolate mask is a winner and one I pick up whenever I know I’m running out! It’s a very thick mask and smells just like Cadbury’s chocolate! This mask helps to soften your skin and leave it feeling clean too, which is what I always look for in a mask. Some of the masks I’ve tried by Montagne Jeunesse have left me with break outs days later, but as of yet I’ve never had a problem with the Chocolate mask… Well apart from wanting to eat it off of my face, of course! I recommend these face masks as whilst they aren’t the cheapest out there, they are by far the best and worth every penny! You can pick these up in Home Bargains at 3 for £2, which is pretty good. Primark also sell these at 99p each and Body Care sell them at around that price too. Also check out Montagne Jeunesse’s Facebook page as they have some great offers on there and competitions where you can win loads of their face masks.

  • MAC Archie’s Girls Lipstick in Daddy’s Little Girl..

I couldn’t pick one MAC lipstick but I finally came to one choice and it was Daddy’s Little Girl, which came out in March for the Archie’s Girls collection. I debated for ages which lipstick to buy from this collection and Daddy’s Little Girl was at the bottom of my list, as swatches of this lipstick online were completely wrong and made the lipstick look bright purple! Instead it is a subtle purple pink that can be worn all year around, which is why it has won a place in my top 10 favourites for 2013! I wore this lipstick loads during the year and most people I know really love this lipstick. I wear this for work quite a lot too as it lasts ages and looks lovely over the end of summer, during autumn and throughout winter so far. Most of my MAC lipsticks can be worn throughout the year but this is the one I seemed to reach for the most. I don’t know if it’s due to its purple pink colour, or because of the limited edition packaging shouting out at me, but either way I love this lipstick and the day it comes to an end, is the day I’ll probably pay a lot to get a new tube of this lipstick. If you wish to read more about it, please check out my review!

  • Nails Inc Nail Polish in South Molton Street.

Since I got these at the start of 2013, I have discovered that I have never EVER used a nail polish as much as I have with this one, as you’ll see from the image above. This is a gorgeous pink manicure pink and I used to wear this in my old job to try and make my nails looks healthier than they probably are, even though I wasn’t allowed to wear nail polish, sneaky Nat! It dries with a slight gel feel to it and with two coats it looks beautiful on the nails. I wear this for work now and I’ve had many compliments on it! As well as that, I wore it for New Years as I really couldn’t be bothered to paint my nails all special and such and I had lots of compliments on how healthy my nails looked, if only they knew! I kid, I told them it was nail polish! My Mom bought me South Molton Street in a two pack set for about £20 which is good considering Nails Inc nail polishes sell for £12-£12.50. So I’m glad I have a back up of this polish as I know I’ll probably be finishing this bottle off during 2014! I will be writing up a review for South Molton Street early 2014, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

  • The Body Shop Shower Gel in Strawberry.

Last of all we have the amazing Strawberry shower gel by The Body Shop. It is by far my favourite shower gel EVER so the fact I own a huge 750ml bottle, as well as a cute little 250ml bottle makes me very happy! I got the little bottle for just a £1, thanks to the £3 gift card I got from Glamour Magazine in November and I picked up the massive bottle for less than £6.00, bargain huh? They’re selling for £8 at the moment in The Body Shop and as tempted as I’ve been to buy another, I’m being good and not doing that, however I did pick up a Satsuma one too so I have plenty of shower gel to last me until the end of 2014! Anyway, a story about this shower gel. When I was little my Mom would take me to The Body Shop once and month and buy me a bottle of the Strawberry and the Satsuma shower gels to use before school, as well as in the bath after school and over the weekends. I would be so excited to use them and as soon as they ran out she would take me back to The Body Shop to buy more bottles. The scent of them both just reminds me of my childhood, the Strawberry one more so than the Satsuma one. Sadly after a while she stopped taking me to The Body Shop and therefore I stopped having the lovely shower gels in my shower. I’m so glad to have picked these us up and both at bargain prices too! I’m going to have a lovely smelling 2014 me thinks.

So that’s my top 10 for 2013! It was hard to pick all those items, but I’m rather pleased with what I chose.

So, what top 10 products did you love during 2013? Do you like any of the ones I mentioned? Let me know in the comments down below!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’re not feeling too hungover and if you’re a Sherlock fan, make sure to watch the first episode for series 3 tonight! I know me and my boyfriend will be eating yummy food, playing Beyond Two Souls and watching Sherlock all day!

Here’s to 2014! Take care all and have a great New Years Day.

November Empties

DSC_0423

Another month, another monthly post and this is for my empties throughout November. I used LOADS during November which really surprised me! Sadly there were some things I was sad to see, whilst on the other hand there were some things I was glad to see the back of! I actually forgot to take a picture of one of my empties products so I’ll be talking about it first and just inserting a picture from the World Wide Web!

So I hope you enjoy this post, I’m actually rather poorly and tired as I write this, so I’m literally forcing myself to write this out whilst I listen/partially watch some TheRPGMinx videos over on YouTube (check out her channel if you like gaming videos). So here goes!

I apologise for the quality of this image…

  • Heiress EDP by Paris Hilton.

I bought this perfume back in 2009/2010 after hearing off of a beauty guru on YouTube that it was amazing. A few days later I popped into Superdrug and a brand new 100ml bottle was being sold for £10! At the time I wished I’d bought the three bottles that were left but of course I only bought the one and it did the job just fine. I’ve said over the years that I would re purchase this perfume but the more I’ve got to the end of the bottle, the more that idea has just gone out of the window. This perfume is very sweet and something you would wear as a teenager or possibly a student but when you’re 23 going on 24, it’s something you shouldn’t really wear anymore. This ended up being my work perfume and I did get some compliments on it, but quite frankly I’m glad to see the back of it and if I re purchase it it’ll only be a small 30ml size. I know my cousin loves this perfume and I can understand why, it’s a cute scent but it just makes me feel and smell as if I’m trying to be younger than I actually am and right now I love my sexy mature scents. 😛

DSC_0424

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash.

I LOVE this body wash and I bought it back a year ago and quite frankly I can’t believe how long it’s lasted me! This stuff smells amazing, just like key lime pie and as limes are one of my favourite fruits this has been a favourite of mine to use in the mornings, as well as during the summertime when the weather was really warm. The wash had a pump on the top which made it easy to pump into my sponge, as well as my hands if I wished to use it that way. When my boyfriend first staying over at mine he would use this every time and up until its last pump of body was he used nothing but this! Possible Christmas present? 😉 I’m definitely going to re purchase this! I know Boots have a set of this for Christmas and I’m hoping to pick it up half price in the Christmas sales, if not it’d be great to receive as a present. I really want to try the body butter and the body scrub of this too, it all just smells amazing!

  • Radox Muscle Therapy Bath Soak.

I actually bought this for my Dad to use in the bath as he complains with muscle pain a lot of the time but in the end I just used it myself and I already know I’ll be buying this again in the future! It smells just like the blue muscle soak bath soak by Radox but this smells a bit more fresh, if that makes sense. It contains black pepper and ginseng so it awakens you a little bit more I find. It’s also an amazing red colour and whilst I like a blue bath, red is equally as awesome! After a long day at work or after making my way home from my boyfriends I would run a hot bath and have some of this in there. It would make my muscles feel less achy and did the trick. I need this again as I can see December being a very busy, tiring and thus achy month for myself!

  • Natural Collection Wild Strawberry Shower Creme.

This was a free product on a 3 for 2 offer from Boots and it was definitely an amazing freebie to pick up! My friend Poppy suggested I try this out as it’s really nice and even compared it to The Body Shop’s Strawberry Shower Gel, which I LOVE. This is a lovely shower creme and is something I will pick up again as it lasted a month and was nice to use before going to work. It foamed up lovely on my sponge and left my skin feeling really soft and smelling of strawberries. This isn’t as good as The Body Shop’s shower gel, but I just love that stuff so much! This costs £2 (I think!) to buy and it’s definitely worth the money! I really want to try more of their products with the Wild Strawberry scent.

DSC_0426

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I picked this up in October from Boots for half of the price it was supposed to be and oh my do I love it! Sadly though I haven’t re purchased this yet, only when it’s as cheap as it was the first time I bought it, will it venture my shopping basket again. This is a lovely shave gel that will leave you feeling soft and smooth after use as well as leaving your skin moisturised! My legs tend to get very scaled looking after shaving but whilst I was using this, my legs looked and felt beautiful and quite frankly I miss using this stuff. I can’t wait to buy it again soon, I hope.

  • Original Source Lemon & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Okay this is actually a travel size version and although this was meant to be used for whenever I went to my boyfriends I soon just left it at home on my bath to use in the mornings before work. This stuff is amazing and I’m going to be picking up the full size version in the New Year! This stuff reminds me of the yellow Penicillin you got as a child, it smells JUST LIKE IT and that just reminds me of times when I was younger and whilst I hated being ill, I loved the medicine. My Mom called it “the banana medicine”. 😛 The full size only costs a £1 and I regret not picking any up a couple of days ago, so I think I will be during the week.

  • Pears Hand Wash.

When I was younger my Mom bought the bar of soap version of this for me to use on my hands and body and I don’t remember if it was any good or not, but as the bottle of this said it was mild and good for the skin, I thought it would help my eczema… It did the complete opposite and made it worse!!! I actually couldn’t wait to use this up and I’m NEVER buying it again! I’m sure this will be great for most people but for myself its rubbish and no. Just no.

DSC_0427

  • Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Face Spa Face Mask.

There are two of these that were used up during November, not both of them used by me by the way. One by myself and one by my boyfriend. I persuaded him to do one of these masks with me so I didn’t feel so ugly and alone whilst I sat there with the sheet mask on my face. I’ve mentioned these before in empties and favourite posts and they’re amazing! You simply take the mask out of the packet, place it on your face and relax with it on for 15 or so minutes. Then after you’ve left it on for the correct amount of time you take it off, rub the excess bits of the sheet mask onto you face and then rinse off. It leaves your skin feeling clean and tingly and after a couple of days I notice that any sign of spots or blemishes vanish. I don’t know what my boyfriend thought of this mask, but he didn’t complain about having spots or anything. This mask is great for men as it doesn’t involve all the clay or peeled off of a gel mask.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask.

This was the first Montagne Jeunesse I ever tried out and since then it’s been one of my favourites to use, especially when I’m suffering with a bad case of spots or blemishes! This is a dull green/grey clay mask that feels amazing when put onto the skin and leaves your skin feeling soft, fresh and clean! Like the tea tree sheet mask it takes a couple of days for any current spots or blemishes to go away but after that this mask leaves your skin looking clear and beautiful for a couple of days. I used this in the bath just so it was easier to wash off of my face after use, but I think due to this it did break me out a little. But I’m not 100% sure, my spots have been weird this month!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate Self Heating Face Mask.

This mask smells just like Terry’s Chocolate Orange or an orange hot chocolate from Costa and thus smells amazing and delicious and all I want to do when this is on is eat it… However this being said I am glad to see this gone from my mask collection. This mask is great for leaving my skin lovely and soft, as well as smelling of something delicious but due to the warmth of this mask it does melt and half the time it drips off of my face, into my eyes, nose and even my mouth… Mmm delicious… Not. Either way whilst this mask does do an amazing job, it’s an awkward mask to use and one I think I’ll stay away from this in future. Montagne Jeunesse do have a chocolate  mask, which I am yet to try. As well as this dripping off of my face and making me crave chocolate, it also stained one of my face cloths, which I was rather annoyed at but I replaced it for a couple of quid. If you don’t mind self heated masks the definitely try this one! But personally I didn’t notice that this did anything for my skin, other than soften it.

So those were my empties for November! There would have been more but there’s a little left so those products will be coming up in my December empties instead.

I can’t believe we have less than a month now until 2014. Are you excited? I bloody well am!

So what products did you use up during November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care!

October Empties

DSC_0054

I haven’t used much up during October and I’m not quite sure why but either way it means in the next couple of empties posts I might have loads of products to mention, so let’s get on with the post.

DSC_0051

  • Juicy Fruits Banana Body Wash.

This was an old Christmas present given to my Mom by a cousin. She had forgotten all about it and as the set it came in was brand new, my Mom asked me if I wanted it. I love the smell of banana so took it with both hands! This stuff is amazing! It smells just like bananas and for something that probably cost very little to make, it’s a very good body wash! The scent lasts ages on the skin, as well as leaving it feeling soft and smooth after using. My bathroom smelt like banana for ages after I’d taken a shower too, which I wasn’t complaining about! I wish I could find this to buy however, or at least an alternative as it smells heavenly. Anyone know of any banana shower gels or body washes I could buy?

  • Mandara Spa Gentle Hand Wash in Amber Heaven.

I really love the smell of Amber Heaven by Mandara Spa and I own the bubble bath version of this stuff too so when I found out they made a hand wash, I made sure to get some for the bathroom. However, as lovely as this smells I’m sort of glad to see it finished… Why, you must be wondering? Because it hasn’t helped my eczema out at all and if anything I’m wondering if it’s made it worse due to the strong perfume smell. This does smell gorgeous and for ages the scent of it would linger on my hands for ages, which I really liked. If it wasn’t for my eczema I would re purchase, but I think I need something tailored to soothing my hands, not just perfuming them. I recommend this if you like musky smells, as whilst I hate them usually, this is gorgeous and reminds me of autumn and winter.

  • Imperial Leather Foamburst Luxurious Body Wash in Moisturising Honey & Almond Milk.

This was mentioned in my September favourites and I’m rather sad to see it all finished and although I haven’t bought another one for myself yet, I’m waiting until I find some on offer to buy as I want to grab a couple of different scents to try. This was lovely and creamy and I often used it in the shower when I was in a hurry so usually after work if I was sticky from making drinks. This also made a great shave foam too and was mostly used for this purpose. The honey and almond milk in this smelt heavenly and these sorts of scents have always reminded me of my childhood. They were said to be moisturising and they definitely were. After each use of this my skin felt soft and smooth as well as feeling and smelling lovely and clean! This lasted me about a month, which seems like a decent time to me. I spoke more about this in my favourites post last month so if you would like to know more, go and check out that post. I’m definitely going to buy more of these in future, if not very soon.

DSC_0052

  • Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Face Mask.

I bought this mask to try as it sounded like it would really work with my skin as it’s a scrub and mask in one, which seemed like a nice idea! It contains spearmint and dead sea salt so I know it would leave my skin feeling lovely and clean as well as soft. I used this in the bath, as I knew it would be hard to rinse off and apply what with all the scrubbing I would need to do when applying, as well as washing off. This mask worked like a charm and I already know I want to buy some more. It’s a clear light blue gel texture with plenty of pieces of sea salt and felt really cooling on my fingers. I splashed my face with some warm water and applied the mask onto my skin in a rubbing motion, it felt tingly and cool on my skin, which I really liked. The salt in this mask isn’t harsh but enough that you can feel it working when you’re rubbing it on your skin. After I felt I’d done enough scrubbing I relaxed for 15 minutes and finally gave it one more gentle rub around my face before rinsing off. My skin felt really soft afterwards and I made sure to splash my face with some cold water before getting out of the bath. My skin has felt lovely since and the spots I had on my skin the day and days before using this vanished a day after use, so I’m really glad that it worked for my skin. I’m going to definitely be using this in future, it’s a lovely face mask and a real treat!

  • Original Source Shower Gel in Tea Tree & Mint.

This (as you can probably see) is a little travel size shower gel and was bought for when I first started to go to my boyfriends. I felt bad using his shower gel so I thought to myself, “Hey! If I take my own then I won’t be using his up!” but alas this ended up with me using his anyway! This shower gel smells gorgeous, mostly of mint and leaves a lovely scent on your skin after use. It also foams up lovely in a shower scrunchy, which I really liked! This shower gel is really nice, but may I add only during the hot months as due to the mint it leaves a tingling cold sensation after use. I’d been using this for the majority during the warmer months so I hadn’t noticed this before, but more recently upon using it, I’ve been left in my shower shuddering from the cold feeling this leaves you with. I won’t be re purchasing this shower gel again until summer approaches us! This little travel bottle wasn’t cheap and in Boots cost more than it would for the full size bottle in Bodycare, which pissed me off a little bit. I won’t be buying travel bottles again, I’ll just take a full size one instead!

So those were all my empties for this month!

What products did you use up during October? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all.

August Empties

DSC_0018

Wow, I don’t think I have ever used up so many products for an empties post before! I used up loads throughout August because I want to try and bring in some nice new things to try when the colder months start to come upon us soon. Plus I want room around my bath as well as in my cupboards. Glad to have the extra space now to be honest. 😛

DSC_0019

  • Imperial Leather For Men Purify Hair & Body Wash.

Yes I know this is for men but this is such a lovely shower gel to own. It reminds me of when I was little and would smell all my Dad’s various aftershave and lovely smelling men. It only costs a £1 and lasts for quite a while. It has a very fresh masculine smell and I tend to use this if I’m feeling tired and grumpy as it just gives me that energy that I need to get me through the day. The smell lasts on your skin for ages too. I usually pick one of these up for my Dad as this is actually his, not mine but I finished the bottle off for him the other day as I plan to buy him a new bottle next week. Get this if you like masculine smells or if your boyfriend/husband keeps using your shower gel.

  • Imperial Leather Precious Night Blooming Jasmine & Cotton Milk Body Wash Gel.

My Mom actually brought this up to the bathroom after saying she didn’t want it anymore and thought I might like trying it. It was okay, but I don’t know if I would but this myself. I’ve used Imperial Leather’s body wash gels before and they’re really nice and easy to use if you need to quickly have a wash or want to shave your legs with something nice. I tried to shave my legs with this and it was terrible, the gels aren’t as good for this as they used to be. It smelt really nice and was a real treat to use after a busy day at work if I just wanted to jump in the shower and jump back out again. I remember seeing that Imperial Leather have a lemon and lime version of this, I’d love to try it so I think I might pick one up to try in the future. Glad to see the back of this though, was clogging up the side of my bath!

  • Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser For Dry Skin.

This was mentioned in my May favourites and although I loved it back then, I’m glad to see it in my bin! This product was great to be perfectly honest and was an essential when I was getting ready to go to work and out and about. I didn’t need to worry about moisturising everyday and took a weight off of my mind. However after a while this just seemed like a chore to use and it got left for a while. I remembered it this month though and thought it was time to finish the bottle and throw it away. I didn’t have much left and I’m rather glad. I have considered re-purchasing this but I think I need to stop being so damn lazy and just start moisturising my skin again. I do recommend this to people who don’t have time to moisturise as it’s a great product!

DSC_0020

  • Tesco Gentle Cleansing Bath Bubbles.

This was an amazing product and I know I’ll be re-purchasing ASAP. I could be less of a stingy bitch and opt for Johnson’s Baby Bubbles but I thought these did a great job for the money. It smells just like Johnson’s and reminds me of when I was a little girl, something that is comforting to bathe in after a rough day. After a while I was using this as a shower gel and then eventually as a shaving gel/foam. This lathered up really well on the skin and made shaving easier than it usually is. I’m actually rather sad that this has run out now, but as I said I’ll be buying a new bottle as soon as I can.

  • Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo.

I’m really sad to see this finished, especially as I can’t afford another bottle. When my Mom gave me this I couldn’t wait to see the back of it as I just couldn’t get along with it, but after a while I realised what I could do to make it work and key presto, we worked together in harmony. This shampoo was lovely and smelt just like oranges and lemons. You didn’t need much to get a good lather, just very wet hair and a 50 pence piece amount would go all over my hair (which as you know is really long and thick!) which makes a really nice change. I would buy this shampoo again in future, but I’ve got my eye on one I really want to try out when I next have money. But this left my hair soft, smooth and with lots of shine.

  • Tesco Moisturising Bath Bubbles.

This is pretty much the same as the gentle bath bubbles, only not as universal. I tried to shave using this and it didn’t work whatsoever and left me with that horrible, uncomfortable pain you get with dry shaving. This was lovely to use in the bath too, as this left my skin baby soft and the same was accomplished when I used it as a shower gel too. I might re-purchase this in the future, but I’d find myself going for a scented bubble bath over this one to be honest. Not a bad product though!

  • Carex Nature Protect Hand Wash.

As regular readers will know, I love Carex hand washes and I also have eczema so I’m always on the search for a hand wash that will calm it down a little. This hand wash smelt amazing as it contains manuka honey and oat milk, which is a smell I love quite frankly but its “moistursing action” as it claims to have on the back, was none existent for my skin. From day one of using this hand wash my hands continued to be dry and flaky, which isn’t an attractive thing at all! I couldn’t wait to use this up and as soon as I found the Cola Bottles and Strawberry Laces versions by Carex this hand wash was quickly finished and replaced. Won’t be buying it again as it just did NOTHING for my skin, infact I feel like it made my hands worse as since it being in my empties bag my skin has improved. I’m sure this is just my skin trolling me and not the actual product by the way.

  • Carex Cola Bottles Hand Wash.

I’ve mentioned this before on an empties list here  and it’ll continue to find its way here until the sad day comes upon us when Carex discontinue it… Which I hope isn’t soon. It smells just like fizzy cola bottles, makes my skin look and feel nice and it’s just perfect for children. Nothing more I can say about this really and I know I’ll continue to re-purchase it!

  • Simple Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm.

I LOVE this eye balm and I can’t wait to get my hands on another tube. This stuff is quite pricey for a 15ml tube but it lasts absolutely AGES! It’s a cooling balm that leaves your eyes feeling more awake and cooled, perfect for if your eyes are tired and ache after a crap nights sleep. You need the tiniest amount underneath your eyes and just gently dab into the skin using your ring finger. I’ll be reviewing this in future as it’s just too good not to. I have mentioned this before on my March and June favourites if you would like to read more about it.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Crystallised Honey & Passion Flower Face Mask.

This mask was VILE and by far the worse one I have ever used. You warm it up, apply, leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash off. I decided to have a bath when I used this so left it in my bath for about 15 minutes whilst I shaved and washed my face ready to pop the mask on. The mask was a gel textured when warm which I thought was odd, so I popped it on. After wearing the mask for 5 minutes I tasted something sweet on the corners of my mouth and when I looked in the mirror to see if it was the mask, I was shocked to see the whole mask was melting off of my face! I immediately washed it off and two days later I broke out in terrible spots. Thanks a lot face mask. I won’t be buying this again, that’s for sure!

So those were all my empties from August! I’m not sure if I’ll have that many again for a while, but I’m sure I’ll have enough to make a post in October.

I can’t believe it’s September already, can you?

What products did you use up this month? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, take care and I hope everyone has a good weekend!
