August Favourites ’19

It’s September, my favourite month of the year! I’ve been so excited for this month as each weekend passed throughout August. I don’t exactly have loads planned for this month but I’d like to try and do as much autumnal stuff as possible to be perfectly honest with you.

September also brought some exciting stuff for There Might Be Coffee, with the launch of my monthly newsletter! This went live last night, so please make sure to go and subscribe to get some extra content that you won’t find on my blog or social media pages. 🙂

This month I found myself discovering old favourites, as well as some new ones. I’ve been rather excited to share with you my monthly favourites for August, especially the general favourites too.

Anyhoo, on with the favourites!

  • Diesel Loverdose Eau de Parfum.

This is by far one of my favourite perfumes. It was my friend Jacqui who introduced me to it back in 2011 when it first came out. It has such a unique scent which smells sexy and adult. It was the perfect perfume for when I was 21 and I adored it, as I still do. When I want to smell sexy and like I can do anything, I put this on! I have a feeling this is my third bottle now, but this bottle seems to be lasting ages. Honestly though, I love it. If you haven’t, make sure to go and give it a sniff! I can’t believe it’s been out for almost 10 years. Shit, I’m old!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane Shower Gel.

I’ve owned this shower gel for quite a while now… Since the Christmas sales in fact. I decided I didn’t want to use it until the warmer summer months, as this has a slight tingling effect to the skin, which I really like. I started using this back in June to be honest when me and Dane went to Manchester and I forgot how yummy it smells, as well as how lovely and soft it left me feeling. I honestly wish this scent was permanent as it’s gorgeous. It really does remind me of winter and Christmas, especially as one of my go to hot drinks is a peppermint hot chocolate! I’ve noticed these do pop up during The Body Shop sales, so keep eyes peeled if you’re still interested in this shower gel.

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

I don’t know what it is anymore these days, but I’m really not arsed about make up anymore… I wasn’t before to be fair so how I’m not now is a mystery! I love wearing lipstick, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes it can feel like too much effort. However lately I have really enjoyed wearing lip tints again and I have especially enjoyed wearing this gorgeous hot pink colour! I only apply it into the centre of my lips so that it gives an ombre and soft appearance. One thing I’m excited about when I go to Japan is picking up some of their lip tints. They’re really good! I’ll definitely be stocking up.

  • The Body Shop Banana Nourishing Body Butter.

As regular readers will know, I don’t use The Body Shop body butters on my skin, but instead my hands. Even though I just keep this in my handbag as something to use whilst on the move, I’ve actually been reaching for it in the morning before I head to work, as well as when I get home. I still love the scent of this and aside from Strawberry, this is by far my favourite scent that The Body Shop have ever released!

  • Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Electric Toothbrush

This has been one of my favourite big purchases this year. I already know regular readers are thinking, “Nat, don’t you already have an electric toothbrush?” Well… I’ll explain… Back in my April Favourites I mentioned that I was gifted an electric toothbrush from my mom. Well that shitty thing decided to break on me and Dane randomly, not once but TWICE for the short 4 months that we owned it. To be rude and blunt, do NOT buy anything from LAB. They seem like a company who talk the talk, but can’t produce decent products. This isn’t the first time either me or my mom have purchased items from this company and had issues. The toothbrush first of all broke because it wasn’t holding its charge. This went on for a few weeks, then suddenly it was fine! Odd, right? Then (and we don’t know how!) the on/off button got stuck and due to that it was little loads of water into the brush and yeah. Me and my mom sent the brush back and she was given a full refund! Since then when I looked on the website we bought it from (QVC) the toothbrush was no longer for sale and reviews were VERY poor. Crap company, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!

On with the Philips toothbrush anyway! It’s amazing and me and Dane bought it in the official Philips sale too, so we snagged a bargain. This toothbrush has all sorts of different settings, as well as an app you can use alongside it which tracks any teeth you may not be brushing as much as others. If you do miss brushing certain areas of your teeth, the app will take you back to that area and ask you to brush more to ensure your teeth are “clean”. I love this! You can set loads of different things too, such as whitening, plaque fighting and more! It’s an amazing toothbrush and I cannot recommend them enough. OH and it doesn’t lose much charge either. 😛

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Kathy Burke’s All Woman.

I swear, I LOVED this show. I haven’t laughed so much at a show in quite some time (not including comedies!) and it made me realise just how much I miss Kathy Burke in the comedy world. In this 3 part series on Channel 4, Kathy Burke is talking about women (if you hadn’t guessed from the title) and herself as a woman. She covers topics such as having babies, marriage, relationships and beauty. It’s so insightful in ways and I found myself shouting, “YES KATHY!” at my TV throughout. She covers things that I have spoken about on my blog in the past, including my thoughts on having children and getting married. Man or woman, give this show a watch. Kathy is amazing throughout and I honestly want her to do more shows like this in the future.

Favourite Movie – Wreck-It Ralph and Ralph Breaks The Internet.

I know these seem like random movies to add to this post this month, considering they’re from 2012 and 2018. I didn’t watch either of them in the cinema and it was only recently at a friends house that we put a movie on to watch in the morning/afternoon with the kids. I’d never seen Wreck-It Ralph so it seemed something good to put on. I think I was acting more like a kid than the actual children were haha! I was poorly recently and had to stay at home from work, so decided to watch Ralph Breaks The Internet whilst I was in bed. These films are amazing and I understand why and how they did so well when they released. Something my friend commented on however that I agree with is that the films HARDLY focus on Ralph at all… Either way I feel these films were definitely made for adults in mind more so than children for the nostalgic feel alone. I can’t speak for America but I feel these days the only places I see and/or hear of having arcades is Japan… But again. I can’t speak for elsewhere other than the UK.

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life.

I’ve finally started to get back into reading manga again and it’s making me so damn happy! I love being able to just sit and chill with a couple of volumes of my favourite manga series during the week. When I was poorly recently and I was in bed resting I read some manga and caught up on loads of the Kanna’s Daily Life series. I love this spin off series from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid as it’s so damn cute and you get to find out more about Kanna along the way too! There is also Elma’s Office Lady Diary, which is of course about Elma, who in turn is my favourite out of the dragons! 😀

Favourite Music – PVRIS – All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell.

If there is an album I LOVE right now it is this one by PVRIS. I only discovered this band in April thanks to KERRANG! Radio and they have fast become one of my favourite bands now. I listen to this album daily in the week, as I always feel the need to give it a listen during my shift at work, either at the start of end of the day. Depends on my mood. I love every single song on this album but my favourite is definitely “Winter”. I could name more songs but I thought I would just mention the one I listen to and love the most. 🙂 PVRIS recently announced 3 dates for a UK tour and they sold out in minutes. I doubt I could have made any of the dates anyway, but I’m gutted all the same. I really wanted to go see them live. 😦

Favourite Game – Minecraft.

I can’t remember why or how but me, Dane and some of our friends randomly decided one day to set up a server so we could play Minecraft all together and we played it so damn much throughout August! I do love Minecraft and definitely go through phases of playing it, depending how busy I am or if I’m playing other games. Sometimes it’s great to come home after work and just want to chill on the sofa in front of Minecraft with a beer and some friends on chat. You can now get foxes on Minecraft too, but I don’t know if we can on the version we have on Xbox One. 😦

So, those were my favourites from August! August did really fly by to be fair, which I’m glad about, purely because I love September so much. I hope to bring some exciting autumnal posts your way this month.

What were your favourite things in August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely weekend.

July Favourites ’19

It’s August and only one more month now until my favourite of the year, September. I’m shocked at how quickly 2019 is going by, as well as the fact I have now been in my new (well not so much new anymore!) job for 4 months now. It’s flown, I still feel like I’ve only been here for five minutes.

Either way, summer is officially here and we had some glorious sunny days in July. It was amazing and me and Dane even got the BBQ out after work one of the days! I’m rather excited for this month and what it holds as I feel there will be plenty more BBQ days and pub garden evenings to be spent. 😛

July also brought along some blogger events in Birmingham, which I haven’t done/attended for YEARS! So I was really happy for that. I hope I am able to attend more Birmingham blog events in the future. This month I hope to be attending a couple of Coventry Blogger events too, so keep eyes peeled for that.

For now though, I’m back (even if it’s 2 days late!) to talk about my monthly favourites! 😀

  • SBC Honey & Almond Bath & Shower Creme.

This is something my mom recently gifted to me, as she’d bought it in a set and due to the size worried she may not get around to using it alongside her other SBC shower creme. This is amazing and I honestly love it so much right now! I use it daily and I’ve noticed a dramatic difference to my skin. It doesn’t feel or look dry and tight, but looks and feels softer. Not baby soft, but definitely softer. It smells amazing too! I honestly cannot get enough of it right now! It reminds me of times away in Fuerteventura as I often use honey scented shower gels and cremes whilst I’m there. This bottle will last me ages! I plan to try it as a bath creme next month when the cooler weather is upon us.

  • Cath Kidston Hand Cream.

I didn’t realise I had SO MANY of these little hand creams from my advent calendar from Christmas time. I found about three in one of my drawers recently and decided to take them all to work to use up. I actually forgot how amazing this hand cream is and when all of my hand creams are used up and gone, I plan to stick with Cath Kidston in the future. The hand creams are rich and a little bit of it goes a long way. The scent isn’t really my thing as it’s very “old lady” scented. I love my fruity and unique smells when it comes to perfume. However, I can live with it if it helps my eczema along the way, which I have recently noticed is rearing it’s dry, ugly head.

  • MUA Pro Base Soothe & Cool Primer Stick.

This has been so perfect during July due to the warm weather. I usually only apply this under my eyes as I tend to find if I apply it all over my face it has a tendency of making me feel oilier and that’s not something I wish to be! However, I did use it all over my face on lazy days off work to try and cool down my face a little. Alongside powder it works okay, but on its own it’s so much better for me. I do love this primer stick, but whether or not I’ll repurchase it, is another story.

  • Barry M Unicorn Primer Drops (review here).

I wrote a review about these primer drops towards the end of 2018 and you know what? I wasn’t very kind to these primer drops at all! If anything, I feel like I need to review these because I’ve changed my mind dramatically since then in so many different ways. I love these, they’re my go to these days whenever I wear a primer and whenever I go to buy a new one too. They just always do me good and never let me down. They leave my face feeling cooled, soft and plump looking, with a bit of shimmer to brighten the skin. I also use these on my lips to soften them too, as it works really well before product, even if it’s just a bit of lip balm. Would you guys like me to re review these in the future? Let me know in the comments!

  • Taya Copaiba Resin Volumising Shampoo.

This is something else my mom kindly gifted me recently and it’s such a gorgeous shampoo. My mom is honestly the best when it comes down to beauty and I always go to her for suggestions on new brands and products to try and use. She gave me this as she’d given it a go and wasn’t sure if it was for her. Well, it’s definitely for me! This really does leave my hair feeling and looking healthy, shiny and thicker! Not that my hair needs to be any thicker… 😛 It smells gorgeous too and has a lovely honey smell to it, which works perfectly alongside the SBC shower creme mentioned here too. A little of this goes a long way, which is great because my hair always craves ALL the shampoo when it comes to cleaning it!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Strangers Things 3 and Orange Is the New Black.

Fuck me, Netflix brought out the big guns in July and they did bloody good too! Not one, but TWO new seasons of shows that made Netflix what it is today, sadly with one leaving us for good. Me and Dane both made sure to binge Stranger Things 3 before any spoilers leaked out and ruined it for us. I honestly LOVED season 3 as I found it brought back the action of the whole gang that we missed out on in season 2. Season 2 was okay but it was meh at the same time. It focused too much on Eleven for my liking and this whole rebellion she seemed to go on. Season 3 definitely covered more of what was happening with the town and the shit that was about to hit (I totally rhymed on purpose)! I’m not saying too much due to spoilers, but it was amazing and I nearly cried at the end.

Orange Is the New Black is over. Like so over, that we need a new word for it (Sex & The City quote right there :P). I LOVED Orange Is the New Black so much and I’m glad it’s a season I invested time into because it’s been worth it. This season went too quickly and the end was shocking, so much so I don’t feel like the show has come to an end due to it. There’s no happy endings all around and there’s moments where you can’t believe it’s happened or happening for that matter. I can’t say much without spoiling. The one thing I will say is, Piper is her usual annoying as fuck self! I honestly hope the real Piper isn’t that annoying in real life… That’s the only good thing about the show coming to an end, no more annoying Piper. 😛 OH and who the hell calls their kid Piper?! Just me who thinks that, or?..

Spider-Man Far From Home GIF by Spider-Man

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Movie – Spider-Man: Far From Home.

This film was amazing. Absolutely amazing. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and stayed well until the end to see what was happening next! If you didn’t stay until the end then shame on you! 😛 Without saying too much (because apparently this IS spoilers) I LOVED Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterion. He was one of my favourite baddies back in the day as a kid of spending my every waking moment playing the original Spider-Man PlayStation game. The movie overall with Mysterion’s scenes were done so well and I also loved the story of Peter Parker wanting to be a normal teenager, but needing to be Spider-Man at the same time. It was great and I definitely enjoyed it more than the first film.

Favourite Book – Persona 4

Although I picked up the Elfen Lied omnibus in June – I didn’t actually get around to reading it in July… Which I am really pissed off about. It’s my favourite manga of all time (to date) and I don’t seem to want to read it again… Yet. To be honest, I will probably just prioritise series I need to catch up on and then start on Elfen Lied. So, as I had an Amazon discount code recently, I decided to pick up some more volumes for Persona 4, two in total (volumes 2 and 3). I haven’t finished the game, but I am loving and enjoying reading the manga. I feel like the story of P5 and P4 are both completely different and due to that I enjoy them both so damn much. I really do need to finish playing the game though…

Favourite Music – Litany 4 Track EP.

This is an EP I adore and I wish it had more tracks due to that. This is the song that introduced me to the band, which you may recognise from the Extra gum advert from TV… Where the zombie girl and the guy kiss. Yes, that advert. This song is just so chill and perfect for those summer vibes, as is the rest of the album. I recommend you go and check out Litany if you fancy something new to listen to! I recommend “Bedroom” which I have linked about and “Work It Out”, which isn’t on the 4 track EP.

Monopoly GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Game – Pokemon Edition Monopoly.

Completely random game for me to mention here this month but me and Dane recently had a little game date night in and we played this. It was actually really fun to play and we had a laugh during it, for a change! Monopoly can take forever (which this did) and be boring towards the end due to that reason. This was just fun. I find if you play Monopoly with the right people you can have an amazing time. Especially when it’s Pokemon themed too. 😛

So those are my favourites from July! I cannot believe how quickly the month flew by, it’s pretty crazy to be honest.

How was July for you guys? What were your favourites of the month, both beauty and in general. Make sure to let me know in the comments below.

Until next time all, take care and I hope you have a lovely weekend upon you all!

March Favourites ’19

We are already into the fourth month of the year and it’s so crazy how quickly the year is flowing by! As I mentioned recently in a post about March, the month was like a roller coaster in both my blogging and personal life. I did so much blog related work (events wise) throughout March and I even got myself a new job, which I started today!

So yeah March was a memorable month for 2019 and one I won’t forget for a very long time. Due to this my blog hasn’t had as many posts per week as it usually does due to the fact I’ve been so busy! I’m hoping to be a little quieter throughout April so more posts will be up on my blog.

I plan to try and catch up on gifted posts from March and then I have LOADS of post ideas to pop up on my blog, so make sure to keep your eyes on those.

Anyhoo, it’s time for me to share my favourites from March.

  • Imperial Leather Mermazing Bath Soak.

I picked up this bath soak on a random food shop at the start of March and throughout the month I loved using this after pole dance fitness classes! Sometimes there’s nothing better to do than come home and run a lovely hot bath to have a good soak in… To be fair I really want a bath right now as I’m freezing! This bath soak has Fijian water and lotus flower in which smells so refreshing but also reminds me of a manly scent my dad would have used in the bath whilst I was growing up. I just love this bath soak, I’m just sad that it’s limited edition.

  • MUA Pro Base Soothe & Cool Primer Stick.

I picked this up in March whilst shopping in Superdrug with my friend Sophie (hey you!) and although it’s up on my favourites this month, I do still have some mixed thoughts on it. I’ll review it in the future! 😛 The reason it’s on this list this month however is due to the fact it works really well as a cooling stick and due to this it has done wonders to my under eye area. I can use this throughout the day whenever my eyes feel tired and sore and get an instant wake up with this cooling stick. It will be perfect for hotter days when your skin just needs to feel cooled and refreshed. Also it’s at the stupidly low price of £5.00 so you won’t break the bank if you head over to Milk Makeup and buy their version for £20 more… 😛

  • Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in shade Black Forest.

This was a very spontaneous purchase and I picked it up on a 3 for 2 so this was actually the free item, woohoo! I love the Barry M nail paints as I find they last ages for how much they cost and the price you pay for them is always good. I’ve not used the gelly nail paints for years and forgot how lovely they actually are. I love a good black nail polish so I knew I would love this one! I’ve worn it a few times throughout March and has really loved it! 😀 There’s nothing wrong with rocking black nail polish, especially if you were an emo/goth kid like I was! 😛

  • L’Oreal Paris Infallible Magic Essence Drops.

This are some magic essence drops I heard about throughout March from both YouTubers and bloggers, so I knew I had to give them a go myself. Like the cooling stick I currently have some mixed views on this product, but until the cooling stick, I’m not sure if I want to review this yet or not. These drops are a dark blue (as you’ll see!) which is said to be good for brightening the skin and making it look younger and more youthful. I’m unsure if they’re actually brightening my skin at the moment but they’re definitely making my skin feel lovely after use. I wish I could find some primer jobs that mattified but didn’t cost a bomb to buy.

  • Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser with Shea & Cocoa Butter.

So last month in my February favourites (which you can read here) I mentioned how I’d picked up the Aveeno daily moisture lotion to use on my hands as my eczema had gotten worse. This being said the Aveeno didn’t seem to work all that well after a while, which is something my hands tend to do. They get used to a product and then stop it working on my skin. This being said though, I don’t think I was ever going to have much luck with Aveeno and typical this happened after I spoke about it on my favourites post last month. I took to Twitter for help (my handle is @maybeecoffee) to see if I could get anymore suggestions from people and most were saying Childs Farm. Sooo I picked up a bottle and it has done wonders for my skin since! A little bit of this baby moisturiser goes such a long way and due to that it lasts agggggges! I use it every morning before I go out, as well as on and off around the house when I’m at home. It’s honestly perfect and I’m so glad I went with peoples suggestions on picking it up.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – 24 Hours in Police Custody.

It was kind of hard to pick a show this month and not because I haven’t watched any or anything like that, but because I’ve watched so many various different ones it was just so hard to choose! One that stood out the most is 24 Hours in Police Custody purely because I love that show so damn much! Every time a new series starts I get so excited for each episode… Which in itself sounds a little fucked up considering it’s about crime… BUT of course I love when they get the bad guys in the end and they get sentenced. I’m pretty sure this week is episode 4 and I can’t believe we are already 4 weeks into the new series! If you’ve never watched this series before then you so should, it’s worth a watch.

Favourite Film – Captain Marvel.

Me and Dane went to watch this a couple of days after it was released and I actually loved it far more than I thought I was going to! Without revealing too much I’ll try and explain why I loved it so much. First of all the soundtrack, it’s amazing and I’d totally buy it! It’s heavily 90’s grunge music and to coincide with that so is some of the fashion shown throughout the movie too, as well as band posters scattered throughout locations in the film. I felt so nostalgic watching it and as a fan of both grunge fashion and music, it made me so happy!a As well as that the film was just so good, the only fault I had with it was the first 20 minutes seemed so drab and boring, but it really does pick up and I can understand why those first boring minutes were necessary for the film overall. If you haven’t watched it yet, please do! 😀

Favourite Book – Erm…

Did I have time to read? Did I fuck. Now with my new job I’ll have a lot more time to read during my lunch breaks so I am actually so damn excited to be catching up on loads of manga that has been backlogged in my collection lately.

Favourite Music – “11 Minutes” by Yungblud and Halsey Feat. Travis Barker and “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco.

I spent a lot of my time listening to KERRANG! Radio in March and this song came on quite a lot and featured heavily as various presenters favourite track of the week and I can understand why. It’s such a sad song with it’s lyrics, but it’s such a lovely song all the same due to the catchy tune etc. The singing by Yungblud and Halsey work so well together, alongside Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker in the background. It’s such an amazing collaboration and it’s fast turned into my favourite song.

Alongside “11 Minutes” I’ve also featured “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco as although this song has been out since August 2018, it’s really grown on me lately and I also feel like it’s only really been played recently too. It played on the way to and from both of my interviews for my new job and it was the song I was listening to after I found out I’d been given the job. So whenever I hear it now it reminds me of that and thus has such a lovely memory tied to it! I used to love hearing it loads in my old job, so moving forward I’ll be downloading it soon so I can make sure I hear it to and from my drive to work.

Favourite Game – Yoshi’s Crafted World.

Granted this game only came out at the end of March but I don’t really feel like I played all that many games throughout March as I was just too busy! I played Pokemon GO and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp loads due to how much I travelled to and back from Coventry, but other than that… Nothing. Since I picked up this game a few days ago I have played it loads and really fallen in love with Yoshi all over again! I never played any of the Yoshi games growing up, but always wanted to. I played Yoshi’s New Island but I just couldn’t get into it. I tried the demo for Yoshi’s Crafted World and fell in love, so I knew I had to pick it up! Plus it’s a two player game, so Dane can play it with me!

So that’s all my favourites for March! As I’ve said various times on my blog lately, March was a crazy month and as much as I loved it, I’m really glad for a new month due to how crazy it was. April will hopefully be a bit more relaxed, but this being said it’s going to be just as mad.

Dane’s 30th is this month and I already have most weekends planned with stuff. OH and we mustn’t forget it’s Easter this month too. 😛

Anyhoo, what were your favourites from March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you didn’t get too many April Fools jokes made on you today. 😛

November Favourites ’17

It’s December and it’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This year I even have not one, but two advent calendars and I have work to thank for both of them!

November for me was a mixture of a shit month and an amazing month, the latter outweighing the two. As many of you may have read, I left my old job in retail/hospitality and joined my new job in admin! I’ve just wrapped up my third week and I am still loving it. I just can’t believe how quick those three weeks have gone and I am now well and truly into the Christmas spirit!

This past week though I have been so drained that blogging has sadly taken a back seat. Even my favourites post this month is late being written due to this, so I do apologise for my silence the past week. Blogging will be back on schedule after today, I promise.

For now it is time for me to do the first out of both my monthly posts, the first of course being my favourites!

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

As soon as me and Dane got back from our holiday in October, I knew it was time to get the Snow Fairy out of stash of Lush goodies! I always buy in the Boxing Day sales or get gifted a massive bottle of this glorious pink goo every Christmas/Birthday and I always save it for when Christmas is upon us. It just reminds me of Christmas and the closer we get to Christmas, the more excited I get! This scent is just Lush to me. Although not Snow Fairy, The Godmother shared it’s scent with this and that was the first Lush product I ever bought, so that already has a close spot in my heart. I love this shower gel though, but I’m so gutted Lush discontinued the large 1kg bottle this year.

  • Lancome Miracle EDP.

I always forget that I own this perfume, until recently! This is an old perfume to be honest and one that is probably WAY out of date by now. I’ve owned it since Christmas 2012 when my brother bought it for me. It smells so strong and whilst this isn’t a bad thing, it’s definitely changed from what it once was. I decided a week ago that I would use up as many perfumes as possible and just re purchase ones that are my favourites, as well as any new ones I REALLY want. I have way too many perfumes and there’s only one of me. This is a gorgeous and strong EDP though and one that I can only highly recommend for women in their late 20’s and up as it’s a pretty mature scent.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

This hand cream is amazing and I always forget this. The day I started my new job I decided I would start using this again and my hands are so grateful for it. I don’t really use it throughout my shift, as I use another one but this has been helping my hands in the morning before I leave for work and if my hands are super dry. I still have my massive tube as well, which lasts FOREVER! Best hand cream for sure, always helps my eczema during the cold months.

  • MUA Lip Liner in shade Dark Thistle.

This is a lip liner that I bought to accompany and work with any raspberry pink lipsticks I own and to be honest whilst I LOVE wearing it with those, I especially love wearing it on it’s own with a bit of gloss or lip balm. This is pretty much how I’ve worn it the past couple of weeks and probably how I’ll continue to wear it! These lip liners only cost a £1 and not only do they last ages on their own, as well as with lipsticks but they’re also super comfortable to wear AND even come with their own sharpener. I definitely want to invest in picking up more of these.

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry.

I picked this up for my holiday to Fuerteventura back in September and throughout the whole holiday I used this constantly, only to come home and not use it. I threw it into my handbag the first day of my new job and since then that is where it’s stayed. I use it all the time at work and due to my office being warm this melts a little which makes it so much easier to use than it usually is! You can apply loads of this and it really does keep my lips feeling moisturised and soft. I’ve heard that Carmex have brought out a sugar plum flavour, which I intend to pick up asap!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – The Sinner.

This is a show that Dane told me about ages ago and had found online for us to watch. I never watched it and neither did he. When we found out it would be on Netflix we jumped at the chance to watch it. We binge watched it in a mere matter of days and the story is amazing! I didn’t know it was based off of a novel until I was searching for the trailer above, but it honestly doesn’t surprise me! It’s a thriller about a woman who murders a man on a beach and no one knows why. You find out more about her past as well as present as the story goes on and it really does keep you on the edge of your seat. If you fancy something to binge watch like this, please watch! I’ve also linked about the main song of the show as it’s amazing and as soon as I finished watching the show I went to find it so I could download it!

Favourite Film – The Boy & The Beast.

I have literally just finished watching this film. For ages now Dane has been trying to get me to watch this and for ages I said, “Nah I don’t want to, I won’t enjoy it.” Well it just goes to show how well Dane really knows me, it would seem more than myself as I loved watching this film. I thought it was going to be full of karate and kung fu style stuff, which is wasn’t. That’s why I thought I wouldn’t like it! It’s by the same people as The Wolf Children, which is one of my favourite anime films, so I shouldn’t have been surprised that I loved this film. This is currently on Amazon Prime Video to watch as subbed.

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Vol. 4.

I’VE STARTED READING AGAIN! I took some manga with me to work recently and actually read some, woohoo! It’s nice being able to get back into reading again as I’ve really missed it. It’s especially nice to have my lunch at my desk and read a manga. I have a feeling I’ve got some manga for Christmas this year so I need to make sure I read loads now before then to make sure I have time to read that too. 😛

Favourite Song/Album – Radio Bam.

If there’s one radio show (aside from any Tim Shaw has hosted!) I wish could come back, it’s Radio Bam, even if it came back as a podcast! I always forget how funny and random this show is and not only is the music amazing that Bam Margera plays throughout the shows, but the stories him and his guests (mostly the cKy guys) tell are so damn funny! Well, to me anyway. I’ve downloaded 100 episodes (there are 302 in total) and I’m currently listening to episode 17. The thing that made me think about downloading and listening to these again is the rush hour traffic I get stuck in on my way to work. I love listening to music on the way to work, but if I could listen to an episode of this instead, it would definitely make for an interesting change. I’ve popped up a funny moment above, I will say the show IS OFFENSIVE so this sort of thing won’t be for everyone, it is however for me, so sorry. 😉 The clip above is definitely one of my favourites.

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and Sims 4.

Oh man this month has been about ALL THE GAMES for me! Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp came out and if you don’t know it by now, I’m a HUGE Animal Crossing fan! I’ve played all the games so when Nintendo announced a phone game, I knew I’d fall in love. When it came out in Australia and I saw my friends in the UK playing it, I was insanely jealous. So when it finally came out recently I downloaded straight away and since then I’ve been addicted.

As well as that I’ve also been addicted to playing Sims 4. Me and Dane played the demo of it on the Xbox One and although we enjoyed playing it, we didn’t like the way it played on the console. During Black Friday we picked it up online for less than £20 and we don’t regret it one bit. We’ve played it loads since and will probably spend most of tomorrow playing it together in bed, as well as on Sunday!

Finally I finished The Fractured But Whole and oh my God what a fucking ending! Although I’m not 100% sure/keen about the game play in the second game, I definitely love the story so much more! You can really see why it was getting delayed for so long, the guys did an amazing job with it and now I can’t wait to play it all over again to try and get all the trophies, like a sad git I am! 😛

So those are my favourites from November! I can’t believe in 30 days we’ll be looking to start a New Year. This year has gone by way too fast, can time just stop for a little? 😛

What were your favourites from November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you have a lovely weekend!

June Favourites ’17

It is now July and month seven of the year! 2017 is going by so quickly and whilst a part of me is somewhat glad about that, it’s also always creepy when we edge into another month. Soon it’ll be August bank holiday, then holiday and autumn, then Halloween and bonfire night, and then Christmas and New Year. Fuck. Stop time just for a bit. 😛

I loved all my favourites from last month as I discovered some new beauty products and was reminded how good some oldies are too. So I hope you enjoy this months favourites post. ^_^

  • Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Hand Wash.

I’ve been eyeing up this hand wash for ages, but never bought it as me and Dane have had LOADS of hand washes to get through. Then towards the end of the month I was able to pick up a couple of these in Poundland. They smell amazing, just like the shower cream and bubble bath. So far since me using it my eczema hasn’t disliked it, so I’m hoping and keeping fingers crossed that I’ll be okay with it! If so I’ll be buying this and using it as our regular hand wash for as long as possible. 😛

  • Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter.

I picked this lip butter up randomly when on an alcohol run before going to a friends BBQ. I’d forgotten my tin of Vaseline in the house and I KNEW I would need something for my lips. I’ve mentioned a few times this past week that my lips are still playing up on and off so I need constant moisture to keep my lips soft and from splitting again. This lip butter is amazing! I love blueberry scented things so this smells divine, but it’s also a thick lip butter which actually feels like it’s working. I have it for around the house as well as for in my handbag when I want something thick on my lips. I recommend these though if you’re not a fan of Vaseline and want to try something different.

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care in Normal To Combination.

I recently reviewed this (which you can read here) and I love it so much! June has been a pretty hot month and we had some of the hottest days of the year during the month. This liquid moisturiser was wonderful to use towards the end of the month and really is something that had to feature on here! It’s also helped my skin quite a bit with my oily t-zone. Can’t complain about that at all! 😛

  • MUA Luxe Inked Lip Stain in Sangria.

This is a lip stain I bought months ago but hardly used, until recently. I tried blending this with the shade Dewberry to create blended look with my lipstick. Not only did it look great when I applied it but it lasted ages too, which I was really happy with! It’s so comfortable to wear especially in the warm weather. My only issue with it is it smells and tastes disgusting! >.<

  • The Body Shop Oils of Life Twin-Ball Facial Massager.

This is a product I bought over a year ago and one I had hardly used until recently. With the warmer weather I thought it would be nice to use this massager on my skin after my serum and moisturiser. This has especially worked well teamed up with hydra genius! Due to the metal balls it feels lovely and cooling on the skin which I love the most about it. I don’t know if I’ve noticed any differences in my skin  by using it yet however. I also use this under my eyes after applying my eye gel to help with my eye bags. The Body Shop have in fact released one specifically for the eye area so I’ll be buying that one very soon!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9.

Oh my God what a season this one has been! It’s definitely been one of my favourites for a long time and that is just purely down to Sasha Velour, who in turn has become my favourite drag queen. At the time of writing this (21st June AKA 2 days before the final!) I am really rooting for her to win this season. She fucking deserves it to be honest. She’s funny, unique, beautiful and not to mention down to earth and not fucking fake. I hate fake queens so damn much!

EDIT: HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY GIRL WON! I am so damn happy that Sasha won season 9! She’s the only queen who wasn’t in the bottom two throughout the competition and I only realised that whilst watching it. That shit she pulled with the rose petals. Fuck yes my lady!!! I have to add that I also loved Peppermint’s performance too and I’m very glad that she came second! I’ve already said that as soon as Sasha Velour announces doing some dates in the UK I WILL be going! 😀

Favourite Film – Split.

After 5 months of saying we would watch it, me and Dane FINALLY watched Split and let me tell you, I loved it. I wanted more from James McAvoy’s character as I loved him so much. He’s also one of my favourite actors and has been since the start of his career when he played Steve in Shameless (the UK one of course, not the shitty American version!). I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film and how some people loved it and some hated it. I honestly can understand why people didn’t like it, but I felt it worked really well and the twist at the end was pretty awesome. It’s very mental health related and that’s something you find out at the end which is really interesting. It just worked so damn well and McAvoy’s acting was fucking perfect.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I’m not going to lie. I haven;t been reading fuck all this month. I keep meaning to take Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy to work but I always forget. That and I feel like I hardly get any time to even read a decent amount. I have ordered some manga recently so I’m sure I’ll be reading that soon. ^_^

Favourite Song – Persona 5 OST – Behind The Mask (Instrumental).

I feel like I do nothing but talk about this game and erm why the fuck shouldn’t I? IT’S AMAZING! I am legit spending my day off tomorrow by playing this and doing housework. That is so sad. 😛 ANYWAY! The soundtrack from this game is an actual God send for me and I’m fully addicted to it. I need to download it as I want it to listen to whilst on holiday. I’ve found in the past that it’s really good to listen to whilst doing blog work as it’s really interesting. If you love jazz music, you’ll love this album. There is also a version of the song with lyrics/singing but I prefer the instrumental version.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Magikarp Jump.

I so desperately wanted to talk about Persona 5 again, but I can’t possibly. I spoke about it last month. 😛 BUT I have been loving this iPhone game! It’s an official Pokemon game and has been out about a month now. You basically train your Magikarp to jump as high as possible so that it can compete against other Magikarp! It’s kind of addicting and I often play it on my lunch break at work. I know a lot of people who have given it a go and got very bored of it, often deleting it. I love it though! What I find is the best thing about it? You don’t need to be on a wifi nextwork or 3G/4G to play it. WIN WIN!

So those are my favourites from last month. What products were you loving? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all and have a lovely weekend.

June Favourites 2014

DSC_0003

I really can’t believe how quickly this month has flown by. It was only yesterday that me and my boyfriend were getting excited and ready for our long weekend away in Bristol, and that flew by us too!

I knew that quite a few of the products mentioned here would end up being favourites of mine this month gone, as I just loved using them so much.

I have actually decided to change how and when I make my three monthly posts live on my blog. Instead of having them up on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of each month, I have decided to have them go up on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day of each month as it spreads posts over a week better… I think anyway!

So let me share with you my favourites!

DSC_0006

  • Oh Lola EDP by Marc Jacobs.

I LOVE this perfume and I used it solidly during my time in Bristol after buying it from there (mentioned in haul post here). When we came back though I realised how much I’d used and decided to give it a rest for a while, as whilst I grabbed this at a bargain price, it wasn’t exactly cheap. It was supposed to be £35.50 for the 30ml size, however due to a voucher I had for The Fragrance Shop I snapped this up for £30.50! Not a bad saving, if you ask me. The first thing I want to mention about this perfume is the bottle. How gorgeous is it, come on now! I feel so happy and girly when I pull the bottle of my bag with the cute plastic flower on the top! Marc Jacobs doesn’t just make great smelling perfumes, but he makes gorgeous bottles for them too. 😛 The smell of this perfume is so fresh and floral but with a teeny bit of citrus. The sooner I can pick up a cheap 50ml size of this perfume, the better as it’s definitely a favourite for the summertime.

  • Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Softening Nourishing Lotion for Normal-Dry Skin (Sweet Almond Oil).

I picked up this body lotion on the way to Bristol as I didn’t pack a body lotion for our long weekend and I needed something to use whilst I was there, (mentioned here). I’m so glad I picked up this body lotion as it is perfect for when the weather is a little warmer. It’s a light body lotion that really does keep you hydrated throughout the day. I used it everyday whilst I was away in Bristol and have done a few times since being at home. I already know I’ll be buying this again and I recommend it for anyone who hates thick body lotions like myself, as I like something that sinks in quickly and feels light.

  • Starbucks cold cup water tumblr.

Another item I bought in Bristol (also mentioned here) and one I have been wanting for a very, VERY long time! Whilst I drink quite a lot of water when at home anyway, I found recently that due to lazyness of keeping filling up my cup, I wasn’t drinking as much as I usually would and I thought that maybe a water tumblr might help. I looked high and low, in all the shops I had seen them in previously for a bog standard water tumblr and had no luck, NONE WHATSOEVER until I popped into the Starbucks in Bristol town centre and they had this plastic one for sale. Since buying it I’ve used it day and night for water, iced tea and iced coffee and it’s safe to say I love it!

DSC_0005

  • Avon Foot Works Cherry Ice Cooling Spray.

This is an old product from Avon and one I have been meaning to get rid of out of my cupboard for quite some time. Due to the warmer weather and being on my feet pretty much everyday, for most of the day my feet do get very warm, tired and they ache so I decided that my tootsies deserved a treat. I love this foot cooling spray for many reasons, it keeps my feet nice a cool, it dries quickly if you’re in a hurry and best of all it smells of cherries! I use this when I get home from work as my feet are usually warm and tired after a long morning or evening. This is discontinued now (well as far as I know!) so sadly you wouldn’t be able to pick this up, but I do highly recommend The Body Shop for foot products, as well as the rest of Avon’s Foot Works range.

  • Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence.

I’ve owned this spray for a while now but I always seem to forget to use it when it comes to drying my hair and it’s a damn shame because it makes my hair look and feel amazing! I spray it onto damp hair just before I blow dry it and the end result is lovely! My hair feels soft and smooth and ready to go! I’ve made sure to remind myself to keep using this whenever I dry my hair as it’s such a joy to use! I don’t know how much this was as it was a freebie product with one of my Philip Kingsley shampoos but I recommend it to anyone who uses heat on their hair as it really does protect it from getting damaged.

  • Avon Foot Works Cherry Ice Exfoliating Scrub.

Hey ho, yet another foot product that I have pulled out of my cupboard to use up! This foot scrub is very gentle on the feet but it does so a good job of making my feet feel lovely and smooth! I use this in the shower before going to work and in the bath before going to bed and it leaves my feet feeling soft as a babies bum. I don’t use this everyday as some days this month I have been in a bit of a rush and just haven’t really had the time to, however I want to try and use this up over the summer! Just like the foot spray it leaves my feet looking great and smelling of cherries, what more can you ask for? This is discontinued too, as far as I’m aware.

  • The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry Shower Gel.

This was something I bought for my boyfriend and me to use whilst we were away in Bristol and we used quite a lot of it, as you can see from the above image. This smells of freshly picked raspberries, by far one of my favourite smells EVER! I’m really glad that The Body Shop have brought this range out into their store as it’s just so nice for the summer and whilst I love their strawberry shower gel, this is just a little bit better to use in the morning during the warmer months. This kept mine and my boyfriend skin lovely and soft, as well as smelling delicious. I’ll definitely be buying another bottle, as well as the EDT perfume too! I can’t get enough of the scent!

DSC_0004

  • MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint & Lip Balm in Broken Hearted.

I reviewed this lip product a while ago (review here) and since then I have used it on and off over the time of owning it. I really do like using this, but usually when the weather is warmer as this is easy to apply, is light and is a gorgeous colour! As it’s a tint and lip balm in one this also makes it great to wear for work if I’m in a hurry and can’t be bothered to take a few minutes to apply a lip colour. I’ve been using this a lot during the warmer days at work and have realised how much I do love this product! If you want to read more about it, do make sure to check out the review.

  • OPI Kermit To Speak from the Muppets Most Wanted collection.

Yes, another purchase from Bristol, I’m sorry I went crazy when I was there! I’d wanted some of the polishes from this collection for a while and out of all of the polishes in the collection set I picked up (review of it here) this shade is probably my favourite. It’s a gorgeous mauve shade that one minute will be purple under the light and then green! Awesome huh? I’ve just been wearing this loads since buying it and even wore it on my last few days in Bristol. I intend to paint my nails with it after work on tomorrow too, get me eh? If you wish to read more about it, please check out the review.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cleanse Gel.

I’m a sucker for scented hand sanitizers and if they’re cheap and cheerful like The Body Shop ones, then I’m a very happy (and somewhat poor) lady! I picked up three of these babies in Bristol, Coconut, Satsuma and Strawberry. I gave the Strawberry one away to my boyfriend but I’ve been using the Coconut scented one at work and I really do enjoy using it. I keep it in my handbag anyway for whilst I’m out on the go, as it’s better than a boring none scented hand sanitizer but I’ve ended up using most of this at work, replacing it with the Satsuma scent now. I really do recommend these if you want a change from a non scented sanitizer as they don’t break the bank, come in quite a few different scents and are 3 for 2 pretty much all the time in The Body Shop! Check them out.

So those were my favourites for June! What did you enjoy using last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care all and I hope your week is starting off well!

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless – Review

DSC_0272

After about a months since these babies came out, I’m finally reviewing one of the two shades that I own! They’re the amazing Velvet Lip Lacquer’s by MUA and everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) has been going crazy for them! They’ve been compared to Lime Crime’s Velvetines and whilst some agree they’re just as good, some disagree. Either way I’m glad MUA have come out with these as I refuse to buy from Lime Crime, I won’t go into reasons why here.

I heard about these from my friend Amy over at Von Dork and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard about them until that point! She’d informed me that everywhere was sold out of these beauties and they were pretty hard to find and she wasn’t wrong. I popped into a couple of Superdrug stores and I just couldn’t find them. I tried both the Superdrug stores in town, nothing. One in Coventry, nothing and even a quiet store near my  home, nothing! Finally I couldn’t wait any longer and I decided to order Reckless online!

The Velvet Lip Lacquer’s come in five shade; Atomic (orange coral shade), Kooky (a dark purple), Funk (a darkish pink), Criminal (a more Barbie/neon pink) and finally Reckless (a classic red).

I own both Reckless and Kooky, Reckless being the first shade I picked up from the collection.

DSC_0273

DSC_0274

The first thing I want to talk about with this is the gorgeous packaging! Each these only cost £3, which is a bargain price for what you get. It comes in this black and gold card packaging, that makes the lip lacquer look great and it also explains on the back a little bit about the product itself, which is always good. The wand is a frosted plastic with a black matte lid that has the name of the brand and product in gold. This looks really classy and makes the lip lacquer look more expensive than it actually is, which is great of course and although I’m not about what a product looks like, I can’t ignore the fact for MUA it looks rather more expensive.

The applicator on this is one of those little doe foot ones which in a way does and doesn’t help make this easy to apply. In the first week of owning this I hated it because it took me so long to apply to my lips, especially my top lip and contemplated sending it back for a refund or even popping it on eBay to sell half price. BUT after scouring the internet for some help, I found what I needed to use to help this product work, which I’ll be mentioning soon enough.

DSC_0276

DSC_0275

Please excuse my horrible hands! The pigmentation of this is amazing and when I swatched this on my hand it didn’t wash off fully for a good day or two! I’d describe Reckless as being a classic red colour but with a vampyness to it, if that makes sense. It’s a dark red I find but it works as a classic red shade, which will be great for 50’s looks.

Due to this being like a gloss it glides onto the lips easily and as it’s really pigmented it leaves a lot of colour behind too! As I mentioned before, the doe foot applicator can make it tricky to apply this to certain areas of the lips, mostly the line of your lips as this doe foot applicator isn’t exactly small and unless you have huge lips you’re going to struggle.

DSC_0297

Photo 19-12-2013 14 25 16

However thanks to doing some research I found out that although it wasn’t happening with MUA, over the pond in America some beauty bloggers were having issues applying their liquid lipsticks the same way as I was and had tried using a lip liner beforehand, commenting how it had worked. So I popped into Superdrug and picked up Barry M’s Lip Liner in number 3 which is a red and whilst sitting in the bath (YES THE BATH!) I drew in the line of my lips with the pencil and coloured my lips in with it, just to give the lip lacquer something to stick to as I thought it would help it last longer, as well as make the colour pop a bit more and it worked!

Now onto the staying power! The staying power is amazing and whilst some bloggers have been saying it’s rubbish, it really isn’t. I’ve worn this for work and only after having a couple of drinks it has lasted me my whole shift (between 5-6 hours) which is great!

Due to its staying power it’s also good for kissing as when dries completely it doesn’t smudge or come off onto anything, so I did a tester on the side of my boyfriends face and there were no marks whatsoever, which I think he was pleased about!

Although you shouldn’t put any glosses, balms, etc over the top of these lip lacquers, I sometimes pop some Vaseline Paint The Town Red (review here) over the top as the matte to me can be a bit drying at times. The only problem with doing this is that  the staying power of this won’t matter as when the gloss or balm you applied begins to come off, the lip lacquer will too, which in itself is a real shame!

Either way it is worth doing that if you want to have something moisturising over the top of the lip lacquer, as matte can be quite drying to some and as the weather is getting dramatically colder, I think it’s best to keep those lips soft and moisturised!

Now, due to these have such amazing staying power, it does mean they can be tricky to remove. I find a good make up remover helps to wipe off these and I’m using Simples Eye Make Up Remover to do this. I soak the cotton pad in the remover and push it gently down on my lips for a while and then gently wipe the product away. I try not to scrub my lips as our lips are very sensitive and I don’t want to cause any damage to them if I can help it!

Photo 19-12-2013 14 23 19

Photo 19-12-2013 14 25 37

Overall I love, love, LOVE this lip lacquer, so much so I picked up another one a few weeks later in Kooky (which I’ll make sure to review in the future!). I’ve wanted a classic red lipstick for a while and although this isn’t a lipstick, it’s a liquid version which is fine with me! It’s a gorgeous red to wear throughout the rest of the winter season and I can see me wearing it loads before spring is upon us once again.

It’s a great product if you want to try out liquid lipsticks but don’t want to pay loads for them. You can get them in an array of colours (as I mentioned at the start of this post) and from swatching the shades there are some wearable shades in there and some daring ones.

Since these coming out they’re now more available to pick up, which is great, so for £3 pick one up to try.

Have you bought any of the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers? If so which one(s) have you picked up?

If you haven’t bought any yet, how come and do you intend to in the future?

Leave me any answers or even questions about this product in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all. I’m off to rest for the day as I’m rather poorly.

December (Christmas) Wish List

I can’t believe it’s December again and in 3 weeks time it’ll be Christmas Eve. This year has gone by amazingly quick and I’m sure next year is going to be just the same! So another month, another wish list and what better way to show it to you all than showing you what I’d like for Christmas too. 😛

I’m currently writing (after editing the image together) whilst sitting up in my boyfriends bed, whilst he reads. Oh how very married couple we do sound. It is 3am though mind and whilst he seems sleepy, I’m wide awake, but this being said, I do also feel a bit poorly. Sad times, sad times. 😦

I doubt very much I’ll get anything off of this list as presents (especially one item in particular) but hey it’s a wish list, I can wish away as much as I do so wish, get it, eh? Yeah let’s get on with the post!

December Wish List

  • Eileena Jumper from Animal – £45.00.

I spotted this jumper during an afternoon out with my best friend. I spotted a fox sweatshirt in Animal’s window on a mannequin and ventured inside to see how much it was, that was £45.00 too but in front of that one, was this gorgeous jumper. It’s red with foxes on and as anyone who knows me knows, I LOVE foxes! I’d wear this to death and I’m going to be keeping my eye on it for the next month! If it ends up going into the Christmas sales, I’m buying it ASAP! Probably in a bigger size than I usually am so it has some bag to it. This felt super soft too as well as looking adorable. I need this jumper in my life, I could wear it with so many things! Plus I know it’s quite expensive for a jumper, but it’s definitely worth the money as it looked and felt like amazing quality.

  • Fox iPhone 5 case by Head Case from eBay – £4.95.

As much as I love my rubber Game Boy case and my red flip case (that has already on two occasions protected my screen from breaking) I really want something new and for less than a fiver, this case is adorable. Once again another fox product (I’ll be a crazy fox lady in my old age!) but I don’t care, I love foxes so damn much, it’s an illness I swear! This case is just adorable and one I’d use quite a lot. I would purchase this myself with some Christmas money, apart from my boyfriend, no one I know uses eBay! 😛

  • Black Velvet Lace Collar Playsuit from River Island – £30.00.

This recently sold out on River Island’s website and upon inspecting if River Island had it in any stores near me to buy, I came to find that there are a couple of places where I could order it from, however I don’t know when I’ll be going to said places next, sucks huh? Either way this playsuit is gorgeous and has been on my wish list since I created my last one in October. I’d wear it quite a lot, especially for evenings out and as I only own a couple of playsuits, I don’t think another one would hurt.

  • Adventure Time Lumpy Space Princess Beanie from Forbidden Planet -£13.99.

I spotted this on my shopping trip in Coventry (you can check out that haul here) and fell in love, especially after trying it on. During the start of November I started to watch Adventure Time to see what all the fuss was about and I’m already in love with Lumpy Space Princess, as well as Princess Rainicorn! My boyfriend was the one who spotted this beanie as we were looking at the Adventure Time section and immediately I tried it on. It was soft and felt really snug and comfortable on my head and is definitely something I’d love for Christmas, if I don’t get it, I’ll be purchasing it myself for the colder months that we have yet to go through!

I’d never heard about this candle until recently when a few beauty bloggers and users I follow on Instagram were posting and taking pictures of this candle, North Pole. It’s description says, “What holiday dreams are made of . . . a sweet blend of icy cool mint and sugary rich vanilla cream.” which sounds right up my street and for nearly £20 you get 110-150 hours burn time, that’s a lot of burning! This is making a special appearance on the Yankee Candle UK website, along with some other yummy scents and is only available in the large jar. As of yet I’ve not owned a large jar candle but this could be a first. I could see me buying this before Christmas even comes to be upon us, it just sounds so damn delicious, I need it in my life!

  • Mrs Hedgehog Charm from Pandora – £30.00.

At the start of November I was lucky enough to receive a Pandora bracelet and some charms from my family after they came back from their holiday. It meant a lot that they brought me this back as it was a total surprise and since then I’ve been wearing the bracelet everywhere… Apart from work of course. It feels like my good luck charm and the charms that they got me for it are adorable, but in the next couple of days I’ll be writing a post about what I got back so stay tuned for that! Either way I was intrigued (as you are) at what other charms Pandora do and thus which ones I could add to my bracelet in the future and the first one I saw was this Mrs Hedgehog charm. It reminds me of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle from the Beatrix Potter stories. She’s always reminded me of my Gran, who regular readers will know sadly passed away in March this year. This is definitely on my Christmas wish list and as my Mom has already mentioned how she would be more than happy to be me a charm for Christmas, as well as my birthday then this is hopefully going to be mine this year. If I’m not bought it, I’ll buy it myself as a birthday present to myself. 😛

  • Pokemon X on Nintendo 3DS from GAME – £31.99.

I love Pokemon, ever since Blue and Red first came out on the Game Boy and since then I’ve been hooked. My favourite game to date is probably Silver as I near completed it before my cartridge broke. I was absolutely devastated! Since then I’ve gone on to own most Pokemon games and I’m showing signs that I’m not stopping there! I already know which Pokemon I want as my starter and which Pokemon I want in my team. I’m a total nerd when it comes to games, but Pokemon just reminds me of my childhood!

  • MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Reckless from muastore.co.uk & Superdrug – £3.00.

I only found out about these recently and when my friend Amy told me about them, I rushed round to every Superdrug store near in hopes of finding Reckless, which is a gorgeous red shade. These have been described as being like Lime Crimes Velvetines but a hell of a lot cheaper! Reckless is the only one I’ll be picking up from the collection as the other shades don’t really appeal all that much to me. The only problem with these is that everyone is snapping them up, thus all Superdrug stores are SOLD OUT. The only place you can seem to get them at the moment is from MUA’s website which if I have to, is where I’ll be picking Reckless up from. It’s just the perfect red shade and will be great for winter, especially Christmas Day and for my birthday.

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS from GAME – £27.99.

I’ve owned two Animal Crossing games, the one for GameCube (which I still have btw) and the one for Nintendo DS. I loved that game but as I’ve got older I’ve just not had as much time to play it and to be honest I got a tad bored after a while and losing my amazing neighbours (mostly dogs) made my heart-break a little bit. But either way New Leaf sounds a lot different to the previous versions and if anything, more fun! You get to be the major of your town and run it the way you want to, which sounds quite fun! I’d just sit around and play this all day instead of doing things I need to, which isn’t good of course but sometimes we all just need time to do that, don’t we?

I LOVE Sweet Strawberry and is by far one of my favourite Yankee Candle scents (alongside Christmas Cookie and Red Velvet) and surprisingly enough I’ve not yet bought it in a jar version, only ever as a wax tart or a sampler. But I’ve come to realise that I really want it as a jar now and what better way than to ask for it for Christmas. Sweet Strawberry is described as, “The essence of perfectly ripe strawberries sprinkled with sugar.” which is pretty accurate! The smell of this candle reminds me of a strawberry smelling doll that my Gran bought for me when I was five or six years old. We were on holiday in Devon and I fell in love with the doll, so she bought it for me. I still have it somewhere, I don’t think I’d have the heart to part with it! So it’d be nice to have this candle burning in my room when I just want some happy memories. 🙂

  • Nintendo 2DS in White and Red from GAME – £109.99.

Yes this is a bit of a childish thing to want but it’s what I really want this Christmas! I love my PS3, don’t get me wrong but sometimes I just want something I can take around with me, bring to my boyfriends to play on or if travelling I can take it with me as I can’t read when travelling due to sickness and as much as I love music, I get a bit bored with just listening to that too. I have to add how I thought the 2DS would be more expensive than the 3DS, due to the fact it’s new but it’s actually cheaper! I want the white and red version as I think it looks pretty. A plus side with the 2DS is that you can download all your favourite classic old Game Boy games to play! Definitely need this in my life and if I don’t get it for Christmas I know I’ll be saving up long and hard to purchase one myself! This is number one on my wish list this year and yes it’s something a child would ask for, but the child inside of me is coming out and if I was bought this for Christmas, I’d be a very happy girl. 🙂

So that was my December *cough* Christmas wish list!

What are you hoping to receive this Christmas? Or do you know what you’ll be getting already? Let me know in the comments down below!

Aww I’ve missed writing up posts for my blog throughout November, it’s good to be back!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and that your week has started off well. I’ve got the dentist tomorrow, wish me luck!

Until next time, take care all.

October Favourites

DSC_0047

Wow is it really November? I’m 24 in nearly 2 months time, how did this happen!? I’m getting old readers! Anyhoo I have a HUGE favourites post for you this month, as you can see from the image above. In total there are 11 products I’ll be talking about today, all as amazing as one another, so without further ado (and to save you reading about how quickly the year has gone by), let’s get on with the post!

DSC_0048

  • Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Skin Wash.

When I was young my Mom would buy Australian Bodycare products for us to use and I loved their skin wash, shampoo, conditioner and especially their face wash, which kept my spots at bay whilst I was a teenager. However the shop we used to buy all these from stopped stocking them and we weren’t able to find them again to buy, until recently. QVC have started to stock these and at amazing prices so my Mom bought us a set to use and she donated the skin wash to me as she remembered how much I loved it when I was younger. This is a huge 500ml bottle and I know it’s going to last me ages! Since using this I’ve noticed that a horrid patch of spots that always lingered on my chest have now vanished and my skin has never felt so soft before without using a moisturiser after showering. As well as that, this stuff smells amazing, just like tea tree and a bonus is it lingers on the skin afterwards too, but only a slight smell, nothing strong. I feel so fresh and clean after using this skin wash and I think it’s going to be something I keep in my shower for a long time and now that QVC are stocking it, as well as other popular websites on the internet, I know I’ll never lose it again from the side of my bath.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I mentioned this in my recent haul post from when I went shopping with my friend Poppy and for probably a year now I haven’t owned a decent shave gel, until now of course. Since swapping from men’s shave foams and shower gels I’ve noticed that the skin on my legs and underarms isn’t as dry as it used to be after shaving and that’s really nice. Plus I’m weird and have a patch on  my left leg that at times can be left really sore and irritated after shaving, but since using this gel I’ve not had that trouble, which is really nice as it used to be so painful at times and sometimes through all that pain, it wasn’t even shaved properly half the time. As well as feeling lovely on the skin it smells nice too, which is always good! You only need a little bit of this gel and it foams up really well and it goes a long way. I got this shave gel half price in Boots and I’m probably going to buy another one (or two) to see me through the rest of 2013, as I really like this shave gel and whilst I’m poor, I don’t really want to pay full price for one, when I can get two for the same price. Smart thinking, huh?

  • Yankee Candle Simply Home in Lemon Cream.

I’ve been burning this on and off throughout October, usually during the day as lately I’ve been getting headaches and sore throats from burning scented candles, which really sucks so I need to keep a window open whilst it burns so that the scent isn’t too intense for me. I bought this candle at a market stall in June for just £6.00 and before now in the past I’ve bought various different Yankee Candle tarts and samplers from the same stall too. This candle is amazing and smells just like lemon butter cream, which I LOVE. If you’ve ever smelt Morrisons own brand lemon butter cream, then that is EXACTLY what this smells like. It’s a massive jar too so this will last me ages. It’s a very strong scent and I’ll only leave it burning for a couple of hours whilst I write to try and relax me. I would like to own more Simply Home candles and I have a few in mind I’d like to get, including Cherry and Christmas Treats.

  • Lush FUN in Pink.

I’ve owned this since Lush first brought their FUN collection out and recently with Lush announcing their Christmas range for 2013, I’m trying to use up some of my Lush products so that I can fill my Lush container full of yummy new things to try out! Lush have of course brought out a FUN product for Christmas, GOLD and I really want to get my grubby mitts on one! I used Pink in a couple of baths throughout October as a bubble bar and as a wash and FUN really does go a long way! It always leaves my skin feeling soft and beautiful, as well as smelling gorgeous! Pink reminds me of Rock Star Soap and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, which is why I bought it. I’ve used Rock Star Soap once and whilst I didn’t get an allergic reaction to it, like I do with most of Lush’s soaps, I’m too scared to buy a chunk incase this actually occurs, so I’m glad that Pink exists so that I can have the scent of Rock Star to wash with, but not have to worry about any bad rashes on my skin. Whenever I used this in the bath, the smell lingers in the bathroom for up to two days, which I really quite like and whenever I popped into the bathroom I got a whiff of it. Lush definitely need to create some more FUN colours, purple and orange would be amazing! I need to try more of the FUN products and I think I’ll be doing just that in the New Year.

  • Gucci Envy Me EDT.

This is by far one of my favourite perfumes. I bought this bottle back in 2005 when I last went on holiday and sadly I don’t have all that much left. I only use it for very special occasions such as my birthday, other people’s birthdays and late at night if I fancy wearing it. My family has gone on holiday and they were lovely enough to ask if I wanted anything brought back and the first thing I came up with was this perfume! It isn’t expensive to buy online but seeing as I’m really quite poor at the moment, I can’t really buy myself a new bottle. I wore this quite a bit during October though, especially when my boyfriend came round to see me as he hadn’t smelt this before and seeing as I really like it, I thought he might to and he really does, so that’s good! Plus for an EDT this perfume can be quite strong and lasts quite a while and is probably one of the only EDT scents I’ve bought for myself. I can’t wait to get a new bottle of this, it was one of the first perfumes I bought for myself and its been sat in its packaging and finally in my perfume box (yes I have a box!) for nearly 10 years! It’s probably gone bad by now, but it still smells amazing! If you haven’t smelt this, I suggest you do so as its beautiful.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Multi Protection Light Cream.

I didn’t buy this myself, my Mom actually gave it to me when I said I needed to get some new moisturiser to tide me over until I can afford my Clinique Moisturising Gel. I didn’t think I would like this at first as due to my skin type it gets on better with gels than creams, but this is really nice! It’s definitely a cream, but it’s light enough to not sit on my skin for ages like most creams do. I’m not a huge fan of the smell but it doesn’t really linger all that long so it doesn’t bother me. You only need a 1 pence piece amount of this and it really does go a long way and makes my skin feel really soft, almost baby soft! The only flaw with this is it feels slightly greasy on my hands and whilst other creams the feeling may go away, this doesn’t and I need to wash it off of my hands after use every time. That doesn’t take long to do however and it’s worth it for my face feeling and looking as nice as it does after use. This stuff isn’t cheap and as the tube isn’t very big, I wouldn’t personally buy this myself, unless I had the money to splash.

  • Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Eye Gel.

This was another product mentioned on my recent haul post, as I needed a new eye gel and this was the one I decided to buy. For £12.50 I wondered if I’d bought something that wouldn’t last that long, but you need the tiniest amount and this product goes a long way! I love eye gels as like moisturisers, eye creams sting my eyes and don’t sink in, leaving them feeling heavy and to be honest, yuck! Eye gels soothe my tired and aching eyes with that cooling feeling they leave behind which wakes them up at the same time. This eye gel does just that, it relieved the ache and wakes them up! My eyes aren’t that puffy to be honest, but if they were the slightest bit puffy I’d like to think that this gel will help that out a little. I gave my boyfriend some of this to try and he commented how he really liked it. I love the packaging for this product to. It’s so simple and for a little pot you do get a lot of product, which I know is going to last me quite a while! Definitely worth every penny.

  • Vaseline Lip Therapy in Aloe Vera.

This isn’t actually mine, it’s my boyfriend but after forgetting I’d left it in my bag on my way home Sunday night, he told me to keep it and that he would buy another one. Although I have my steroid cream for my eczema it doesn’t seem to be working right now and my knuckles are incredibly sore and red, which makes it at times really quite painful as the skin is splitting open. My Garnier hand cream usually helps, but at the moment it’s making the pain worse due to the skin being split open and as I’m only allowed to use my steroid cream once a day, it’s been quite painful. My boyfriend told me to use his Vaseline, which has been helping a little, as well as soothing the pain and as my best friend also suffers from eczema, she’s suggested Vaseline in the past too. I’ve been applying it as much as possible and the cool feeling from the aloe vera has definitely helped soothe my knuckles, but this being said they’re still incredibly painful.

  • MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint & Lip Balm in Broken Hearted.

I wrote a review for this in October which you can read here and this has been something I’ve been using on my late shifts at work, as well as when I’m popped out quickly during the day. It’s really creamy and makes my lips look a lovely light pink, as well as conditioning them too. It glides on easily and quickly and with its precision end, you don’t really need a mirror when applying it either. It smells and tastes amazing too, which to me is always an added bonus with lip products. If you want to know more, go check out my review about it.

  • MAC Lipstick in Rebel.

This is my favourite lipstick, as well as my favourite MAC lipstick. I never wear it during the spring and summer months as it’s a dark berry – vampy shade but during the autumn and winter months, it’s all I’ll wear! It’s a satin finish so it’s not quite matte, but it’s not exactly creamy either. I like to blot this when wearing it so it lasts longer. It also smells of vanilla, but it reminds me of fresh doughnuts! I’ve been wearing this out and about when seeing friends and when I’ve been out with my boyfriend too and it’s been nice wearing it again and I’ve forgotten just how much I love wearing it too. You can read my full review for this here, it explains more about the lipstick so make sure to check it out if you would like to know more.

  • Vaseline Lip Tint in Paint The Town Red.

Once again, another product I spoke about in my recent haul and since buying it, I haven’t been able to stop using it! I’ve been using it around the house, at my boyfriend, in the car while traveling, at work and everywhere you can think of! This is a limited edition lip tint for autumn and winter and I’m really quite sad about that as it’s truly amazing! It glides onto your lips easily leaving behind a faint pink tint and smells of winter berries, which you can taste slightly when it’s on your lips too. I just love this product and I’ll be making sure to stock up before they’re discontinued! I’ve written a full review of this here so make sure to go and check that out for more information.

So those were my favourites for October, that was a long post, has taken me over an hour to write!

What products did you like using throughout October? Let me know in the comments!

I’m off to start NaNoWriMo, so until next time, take care all!

MUA Power Pout Colour Intense Tint & Lip Balm in Broken Hearted Review

Another week, another lip product, another review. If you’re a regular reader you’ll know just how much I love my lip products and when a new type of lip product hits the shelves, I’ll try my best to get my mitts on one to try! The latest addition to lip products is of course the lip crayon.

Clinique were the first to bring out the lip crayons and eventually Revlon, Bourjois, Seventeen and even Rimmel are getting on the bandwagon!

I’ve wanted one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks for ages, but I’m in two minds whether or not I want one at the same time. I have my eye on shade Plushest Punch after seeing a review of it (here) a while ago. However at their £17.00 price mark I’m a tad put off for the meantime, especially as I’m pretty poor at this moment in time too.

A few months back I was wandering around Superdrug with my Mom, looking around the make up counters when I stumbled upon MUA’s stand and noticed they had their own lip crayons for sale. I tried out all the shades and decided that Broken Hearted was the shade I liked the most.

The Power Pout lip crayons come in six shades altogether, Broken Hearted, Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, Justify, Rendezvous and Runway.

As I’ve already mentioned, I chose Broken Hearted. These lip crayons are only £3.00 each, so I was pretty good not to walk out with more!

MUA claim that the Power Pout’s are both a tint and a lip balm so they’ll make your lips look gorgeous, as well as be protected and moisturised at the same time. They do definitely give great colour pay off and they do make my lips feel soft and smooth and at the moment this has been the lip product I’ve been reaching for when going to work as it’s so quick and easy to apply and it lasts ages!

DSC_0003

Broken Hearted is described by MUA as a deep rich raspberry, which is pretty accurate, it reminds me of a dull hot pink too, which will work wonders for anyone who it too shy to wear a hot pink lip colour.

Due to this being a lip balm it leaves a glossy finish, which looks really nice and it feels creamy too, perfect if you don’t like a matte or satin finish on your lips, which can feel really drying.

The lip crayon glides on easily with no tugging and as it is in the shape of a pen it’s easy to apply, especially if you have thin lips. When the product wears down you don’t need to sharpen it either as with a few twists at the bottom of the crayon the lip colour will just come up.

As well as looking great it smells lovely too. It smells somewhat minty and I’ve found when applied to the lips it’ll leave a slight tingle, but nothing like what a plumping lip product would do.

Whilst I have many positives about Heart Broken, I do also have some negatives that I know other beauty bloggers have mentioned in their reviews of the Power Pout’s too.

If left in a warm room or taken out when hot, they WILL melt. This happened to mine the last time I saw my friend Poppy and the crayon itself has moved so it’s ended up mushing against the inside of the crayon tube, which is really annoying! Due to this it’s hard to wind up to reveal more product and when applying the lip product you can see it hitting against the sides of the crayon tube, which just makes me cringe.

As well as this due to it melted a little once in my room one night when it was really humid, the lip crayons tip has gone a bit mushed, but personally this doesn’t bother me, as it’s molded in a shape that makes the product easier to apply on my lips than it was before.

I guess it isn’t so bad that this lip crayon didn’t break the bank at £3.00, I’d be really annoyed if it was one of the Clinique Chubby Sticks!

Photo 09-10-2013 13 43 58

I really like this lip crayon though and so far it’s the only one I own, thus the first one I’ve owned so I don’t have much to compare it to. I’m hoping to pick up a Bourjois and Clinique one in the future, but we’ll see.

For £3.00 each, the Power Pout’s are worth picking up and the choice of shades is incredible too!

Will you be picking up one of these to try?

If you already have one, which shade do you own? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope your week is going well so far!
