Go Sober 2013

At the start of October 2013 I also started my Go Sober challenge! If you haven’t heard of this by now, then let me tell you about it.

Macmillan Cancer Support came up with the idea that people (over 18 of course) could take a months break from drinking and all to raise money for cancer! My doctor recently advised me to stop drinking and personally I wanted to anyway, so me deciding to stop drinking alcohol around the time that Go Sober came about sounded very coincidental to me and I decided to give it a go!

I’ve lost two of my loved ones to cancer and every little bit raised can help support those battling with cancer, as well as their family and friends.

As well as doing good-by raising money for a great charity, stopping drinking alcohol can have some great benefits. Alcohol contains a lot of calories and stopping drinking can cause weight loss, which is great! I doubt I’ve lost any weight so far, but I feel better for not drinking, no more hangovers that’s for sure… Even though I haven’t suffered with one for quite a while now. As well as saving your waist line, you can save your bank balance too and I know by stopping drinking I’ve had more pennies to spend on better things.

This isn’t the first time I’ve stopped drinking, it’ll probably be my third, if not fourth time now and quite frankly I don’t miss drinking alcohol. Of late it’s been more of a depressant than a mood enhancer and that’s just crap really.

There’s only 5 days left of this challenge and every penny counts right now. So far I’ve only raised £15.00, which in itself is amazing, I didn’t even think I would raise £5.00, let alone that much!

If you would like to help donate towards a great charity then please feel free, hey it could be a couple of pennies, or even nothing at all, but if you could then I’d be really grateful.

I hope everyone is well, this next week is rather hectic as I’m accompanying my boyfriend and our friends on a few dates of Four Floors Of Whores tour at the moment (which you can read about here) so today we’re in Sheffield, we were in Coventry yesterday. I’m super excited!

What are you lovely lot up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments down below!

Also, are you taking part in Go Sober, if so link me to your profile down below so I can see how you’re getting on.

Until next time take care, I’m off to have some Sheffield related adventures!
