November Favourites ’22

Holy shit guys, we are overdue a blog post, let alone another favourites! I’m wary now that I’ve been M.I.A. for almost a month and I do have my reasons why. I thought I’d write my favourites from November, whilst I also share where I went.

November was a mad month, especially towards the end of it, with some highs and lows to finish it off. First of all, I had Covid. Right at the end of November I tested positive and it sucked. I’m negative now, but I still have a cough (and sometimes head cold symptoms) that I’m just waiting to clear out of my system. Hopefully in time for Christmas…

It was my first time with Covid and I hope the last realistically. Self-isolating was the worst for me as it meant I was trapped in one room (two if you include occasional bathroom trips) relying on Dane to look after me and a crappy airbed for comfort of an evening. I didn’t enjoy it and it really did start to give me really bad mental health issues towards the end. The sickness itself was meh. I had a really bad temperature and all around just didn’t feel great, I just wanted to lie on the sofa or in bed all day, which I mostly did the weekend I found out I had it.

As I’ve been sick both at the end of October and the end of November, I really hope December doesn’t decide to join in too. In 2021 I was really sick at the end of December/start of January and that was vile, a lot worse than Covid, so I’m praying not to be sick like that again ever. πŸ˜›

Anyhoo, enough of the bad and onto the highs! As we all know, Pokemon came out mid November and since it released I’ve been playing it on and off, and thoroughly enjoying it, may I add! I’ll speak more about this later in the post. I also went to see Electric Callboy in Nottingham, which was amazing! Again, I’ll speak more about this later on in the post!

With no time like the present, let me get onto all my favourite from November, even with sodding Covid towards the end. πŸ˜›

Beauty – Lime Crime Wet Cherry Lip Gloss in Black Cherry.

With my lipstick journey I’ve gone from wearing lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, tints, and of late glosses. This has gone around full circle ever since I was old enough to be gifted make up as a young teenager, and lip gloss has made a come back for me! I find if I just want a bit of colour, lip glosses are great for that, alongside lip tints! I watched a beauty account on Instagram showing off some gorgeous black cherry glosses, so I decided to get myself one! I own one of the Lime Crime wet cherry lip glosses, which I love, so I thought I’d get the black cherry one. Prior to getting sick with Covid I was wearing this on a daily basis, as I just loved how light you could wear the colour, as well as how buildable it can be. I highly recommend the Lime Crime lip glosses if you want a gloss with some good colour, smells yummy and isn’t sticky!

Movie – Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl.

Technically this film classes as December, but I thought I’d mention it for November, because why not! We have been waiting YEARS to watch this movie, and finally we were able to yesterday. We’re big fans of the anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, so back in 2019/2020 when we heard about there being a film made of a sequel to the anime, we wanted to watch it. However, it’s only seemingly become available to us in the UK more so recently, and even then it’s only through someone uploading the movie onto YouTube. We watched it and it was such a beautiful film. If you’ve watched the anime and would love to know what happens next, make sure to go and watch the movie too. If you search for it on YouTube, you should find it straight away. I don’t want to link on my blog as realistically it being on YouTube isn’t the best.

May be an image of one or more people and people standing

Music – Electric Callboy.

So, as I mentioned at the start of the post, towards the end of November me and Dane went to see Electric Callboy in Nottingham. It was by far one of the best gigs I’ve been to in my life to date. I originally said it was in my top 5, but now it’s in my top 3!!! The whole vibe of the show was incredible, everyone was clearly there for a good time and everyone did just that. Each track they played from old and newer stuff got everyone going mad, including us of course! We both had a sore throats after attending the gig as we were both screaming the lyrics, and our bodies ached from dashing and moshing as much as we could. We got decent places to stand too as we started queuing quite early, so we were on the balcony, right at the front, which we loved! We’ve already said we want to go and see them again, as we had such a blast! I’d love to book to go and see them in Europe somewhere, or even London at some point next year, but we’ll see! Another cool thing is you can kind of see us on the photo that they took at the end of the gig! We’re on the left of the photo and I’m holding my bright yellow rain coat… πŸ˜›

Game – Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

As I mentioned at the start of the post, we got our copies of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and whilst we haven’t been binge playing them, I have really been enjoying playing Violet! Sword and Shield are both games I’ve enjoyed, but found you could complete the story in a day. However, Scarlet and Violet is, to me, a little overwhelming in the sense there is so much more to do! You have the gyms, titans and star challenges, as well as the usual filling up the Pokedex from catching and breeding, as well as battling with people. There’s A LOT to do in Scarlet and Violet and due to that, I really love it! I’m enjoying playing it as and when I want as well, instead of feeling like I need to pick it up to play most evenings. I wanted to show off the cute pictures I got of me and Fidough on my first day of playing. Fidough is for sure my favourite Pokemon to come out of Scarlet and Violet and I can’t wait to get some Fidough merch from the Pokemon Center due to this!

Black Friday

Did I go spend happy over Black Friday? Yep, I certainly did! If I’m honest I didn’t just shop for me either, I did save quite a lot of money on Dane’s Christmas presents, which was incredibly handy as it meant I could spoil him (and me) more. πŸ˜› Black Friday happened when I was really sick with Covid, and not only did I go spend happy for Dane, but I definitely did for me too as I was feeling sorry for myself. As you can see, I bought quite a few bits and pieces from various places! I decided to get some more goods from Lumichee, Adorabubbleshop, as well as Tomodachi! They all had vouchers for Black Friday, which I just couldn’t pass up! I’ll be looking to write a blog post all about Lumichee in January, as well as showing you guys the volume 4 pins from Tomodachi, as I spoke about them at the start of the year!

Wales trip

I’ve been so excited to talk about our trip to Wales, but due to being so quiet on here this is the first chance I’ve had to really talk about it! At the start of November we went to Wales for a weekend to a shepherds hut on a farm in North Wales. The hut itself was absolutely gorgeous and everything we wanted! We made sure to book it in the autumnal months too so we could make the most of some of the features of the hut, which included underfloor heating, a log fire indoor, a firepit outside, as well as a hot tub! We definitely made the most out of all these features of the hut, even though the weather was raining and vile! We managed to dodge the rain every time we wanted to use the hot tub! Whilst we were in North Wales, we ventured to have a go at clay throwing, where we made a pot and a mug each! We are yet to receive these in the post, but as soon as we do, I’ll make sure to show them you guys!

I really can’t wait to venture on a holiday or short trip with Dane again, I really loved our weekend in Wales.

We made a Christmas advent calendar!

Finally I wanted to quickly show you guys the advent calendar we made this year! This project was ongoing for about a month, and even came with us on our trip to Wales, as we had planned to carry on with it there, but never got around to it. We finally finished it on Saturday and we both love what we have done with it! We kinda wanted it to be like a gingerbread house, but it’s not really become that. It’s definitely become our own unique thing and we love it to death! We’ve hidden some of the images of the doors as these are inspired by rooms in our home, so we’d like to try and keep this private. I also added some stickers from Pikarar as they just look so cute and it seemed the right time to use them! We picked our calendar up from Hobbycraft to decorate and it was so much fun for us to do together. If anything, we’ve said how we want to do more crafting together!

So there we have it! A long overdue blog post from me after almost a month and I think it falling around favourites time has worked out quite nicely.

I’d say sorry for being absent but, I’m not going to. This isn’t my job at the end of the day, it’s my hobby and one that just had to take a break whilst I was busy and sick. I do wonder if in the New Year how often I’ll write, in the sense of if I’m too busy, I’m not going to force anything, a choice I’m sure you guys won’t mind. πŸ™‚

So, with that being said – how have you guys been the past month? Have you started your Christmas shopping? Bought any goodies during Black Friday sales? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’ve all been keeping well. πŸ™‚

November Favourites ’21

I can’t quite believe we’re less than a week until December but just four weeks away until Christmas! 2021 has flown by and I’m already frightened at what 2022 holds, as well as how quickly that may fly by too.

I know I’m posting my monthly favourites for November a little earlier than I usually would but this is because I want Decembers content to be full of Christmas related/style posts!

I’m actually really excited for Christmas this year! I’m excited to decorate the house a little more with lights, as well as lots of tinsel, and especially for being able to see the people I love and care about too. Me and Dane ordered our Christmas food months ago out the way, so the hardest part of Christmas Day is done. πŸ˜›

Now all I need to do is decorate this weekend, as well as finish my Christmas shopping ready for the big day! Hopefully I can smash most of it this weekend so I can spend the rest of December relaxing, buying any last minute bits and pieces, as well as spending time with people I care about.

I’m so excited for the content I have planned for the rest of December! A sneak peak includes independent businesses you should buy from this year, which will talk about geek goods, candles, beauty and more. Make sure to keep eyes peeled for that in a couple of weeks.

However, for now I want to dive into what I’ll be talking about this month. This may well be the last favourites of the year, as I rarely talk about the December favourites until the New Year. I hope you guys enjoy!

Favourite Beauty Product – Lush Yog Nog Shower Gel.

I picked up this shower gel in the Lush Boxing Day sales last year and I’ve been waiting for the right time to use it! I love Yog Nog so much, I was beyond gutted when they decided to discontinue the bath bomb. The bubble bar is good, but I don’t know… The bath bomb always smelt stronger to me. The scent has always reminded me of Biscoff biscuits, which I’ve loved since I was a kid. This shower cream/gel is so luxurious and creamy smelling and with the fact it’s gold, I feel so fancy when I use it in the shower! It always leaves me smelling good and a little bit soft. The scent isn’t crazy strong, which I really like. I’m hoping to pick up a replacement bottle in the Lush Boxing Day sales this year… If they do them online again that is! If you haven’t tried this before, give it a go! I’m not as much of a Lush fan as I used to be, I found they’ve really changed a company and their prices are shocking! I much prefer to buy and support small indie beauty brands, who have scents like Yog Nog and Snow Fairy all year around, at a more pocket friendly price.

Favourite TV Show – Komi Can’t Communicate.

This is a new anime series that Dane has gotten me into and I’m so grateful for it! It’s kind of obvious from the title of the anime what it’s all about. Komi can’t communicate due to social anxiety, but now she’s in high school, she wants to gain lots of friends and start to communicate more. Komi befriends Tadano, a guy in her class who really wants to help her with her goals. It’s a very cute, funny and heartfelt show. Not going to lie, I cried at a scene in the first episode. πŸ˜› This is a Netflix exclusive, so make sure to check it out.

Dragon Miss GIF

Favourite Manga – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life and Elma’s Office Lady Diary.

Don’t double check this to see if you read correctly, because you have. Yes in fuck knows how many months now, I’ve picked up a book and read it. No, I can’t believe it either! I think due to my mental health declining the past year I just haven’t been in the right frame of mind to read, which really does break my heart. I love reading manga and in one of my jobs years ago, I couldn’t get enough series or volumes to read due to that fact. Thinking about Christmas present ideas, I know I’ve needed to stock up on my volumes of the Kobayashi series, so I decided to start catching up on the volumes I need to read, add ones I need to my Christmas present ideas list, as well as pre-order some volumes I need too. I forgot how much I love reading manga! I’d take it to work and read it more, but I don’t feel comfortable sat at my desk with some potential NSFW pages… Which has happened in the past at previous jobs and people have talked… πŸ˜›

Japan: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl sells 1.4 million boxed-copies in first 3 days, second biggest Switch launch - My Nintendo News

Image taken from My Nintendo News

Favourite Game – Pokemon Shining Pearl.

I haven’t been nonstop playing this game due to how busy I’ve been, but when I have been playing it, I’ve really enjoyed it! Technically Animal Crossing should be noted here this month too as I’ve been playing it LOADS since the update but I felt like I spoke about it loads of my previous post (Games I’m Loving This Month). The Pokemon gen 4 remakes are officially out and not only are they cute, but they’re so fucking nostalgic and I know I’m not the only one feeling that. I’ve got to the second gym on my game, but I’m planning to try and fit in some more Pokemon game time soon.

Just a few of my favourite other things…

I bought an Apple Watch!

I finally took the plunge and bought myself an Apple Watch during my week off work in November! Thanks to Dane I’ve ended up not only buying the Apple Watch but also the Apple AirPods too so I have all the fancy technology I need/want. πŸ˜› Dane bought himself a Samsung watch earlier this year and has been loving it, which in turn has influenced me to get my own tech watch and why not the Apple watch seeing as I have an iPhone? So far I’m really loving it and it’s definitely come in handy when out and about if I want to keep my phone in my backpack, as well as at work. I picked up the newest watch and highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of getting one.

New clothes pieces I’ve obtained (including a grail piece!).

Alongside my Apple Watch, I also snagged some clothing pieces I’ve been after a while, including a grail piece by Black Milk Clothing.

The pastel jumper is by Wego, a Japanese fashion brand. I heard about it through Instagram and immediately went to From Japan to see if I could order it! I requested a custom order and a couple of weeks later it arrived! It’s such a lovely jumper, super warm and cosy, as well as baggy too. I really want the bright rainbow version too, but that’ll have to wait. πŸ™‚

Although the snake dress isn’t new, the Route 666 Underbust Corset is and I FUCKING love it! I bought it second hand through an amazing Sharkie who I know and speak to often via Instagram. Instead of Β£42.61 I only paid Β£30 (not including postage) which is a complete bargain. I’m really happy with it, it’s so comfortable and the exact size I’d want as well which is perfect.

Finally I’m so excited to share my grail piece! I’ve been after the Merboy Shatter Reversible Skater Dress for the longest time and through one of the Black Milk Clothing sales groups I’m a part of someone in Australia was selling this piece for a second price including shipping. I decided to treat myself to it when last pay day came around and finally a few weeks ago it arrived! I honestly cannot wait to wear it over the Christmas period for parties with a pair of boots and a sheer mesh top underneath. It has pockets too, which is amazing!!! So damn happy to have this. :’)

Finally, Christmas nails season has begun.

Finally, I wanted to show off my Christmas nails because I’m in love with them! I know they aren’t in your face Christmassy, but I think they sort of are! I’m waiting for 16th December for my green and red OR blue and silver nails to be done. I’m feeling the latter as I can get away with them for New Years as well. Honestly though, these nails are bloody gorgeous and the rose gold makes me so happy to see.

So there we have it guys… The last favourites post of the year! I know it’s a bit short but I honestly couldn’t think of loads of talk about this month. There hasn’t been a film or music that has stood out for me this month. Plus, as I said before, November has been a tough month for me this year, so I haven’t felt all that… “get up and go!” kind of thing.

That aside, what were your favourites from November? I can’t believe November is done in less than a week now… Can you?

Make sure to let me know in the comments below what your thoughts are about November, as well as December being just around the corner!

Until next time guys, take care and hope you have a lovely weekend.

Feliz Navidad Christmas GIF by LookHUMAN

It is December, the month of Christmas, New Year and impending skintness (don’t think that’s a word…) and feeling bloated after eating loads of food!

I’m really rooting for this month to be a good one in all ways, shapes and forms! My Christmas tree is up, I’m getting towards the end of my Christmas shopping, some of our Christmas food has been ordered and I have a week off soon! I’m definitely ready for some time away with Dane to relax and get excited for Christmas Day as well as New Year.

I cannot believe how quickly November went by, it flew and considering how busy this month has been for me, I’m not at all surprised. We were in lockdown for pretty much all of November but work has been crazy busy. I think I needed it after how shit September and October were.

This might be the last full favourites post of 2020 so I wanted to raise some changes here for the New Year. I did mention this briefly in my life lately post last week. Basically I won’t be talking about as many beauty items anymore. My blog has definitely moved away from beauty, so whilst I will mention one or two items each month, I want to focus mainly on geeky items and more. I’ll be looking to talk more about things I’ve really loved that month, as well as share more such as my favourite purchase(s) of the month, blogs and more. I’m really excited for this much needed change.

So, without anymore waffling on, let’s get on with the favourites!

  • Australian Bodycare Skin Wash.

This is a product I have relied on quite a lot lately. My dermatitis hasn’t gotten any better and towards the end of November it seemed to spread onto my other hand… I kind of had a mass panic about it. It’s bad enough having a massive mark on one hand, let alone both. I decided to discontinue use of any products aside from my tea tree skin wash and my newest shampoo (which will be mentioned!). I do find this really helped so I may try and so it more often and maybe even start to use as a hand wash when I’ve used up all the hand wash I have at the moment by Childs Farm.

  • Faith in Nature Natural Lemon & Tea Tree Shampoo.

I decided to try a new brand of shampoo recently and this one is pretty decent to be perfectly honest with you! It’s SLS and sulphate free which is always a good thing. I didn’t actually mean to buy the lemon and tea tree variant and I purely wanted the tea tree version. However, I do really love this one though. It’s good for oily hair, which isn’t particularly something I have (aka I don’t have to wash my hair often) but if I can try and prevent oil then why not! Although I do love this shampoo I don’t know if I would buy again… Just because I really love my Maui vanilla shampoo. πŸ™‚

So now my beauty favourites are done… YES! I am only mentioning two this month! I decided to start talking about less beauty products starting now. I can only think of two at the moment that really stand out and I don’t want to force more to talk about if I don’t need to. πŸ™‚

So… Now it’s time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month! If there isn’t anything I’ve done I’m not going to mention. Aka reading – so favourite book won’t be mentioned.

Favourite TV Show/Stuff To Watch – PaymoneyWubby on Twitch.

Okay I know this isn’t a TV show BUT this is literally what I’ve been binge watching throughout November. PaymoneyWubby is a Twitch streamer and YouTuber Dane discovered a couple of years ago and since then we’ve really enjoyed his content on YouTube. About a year ago I checked out his Twitch but I wasn’t keen. Recently he brought out a YouTube video (he hadn’t had any content out for a while…) and we decided to check out his Twitch again. Of course we’re hooked now and I’ve been catching up on previous videos/streams, as well as current and newer ones. He does random streams including watching funny videos, playing games and more. It’s good to listen to and chill with and it’s been especially great to put on whilst cooking, working and playing games. The video I’ve popped above is from his YouTube channel where he puts all the highlights from the Twitch streams. This one was really funny… To me anyway. πŸ˜›

Favourite Movie – Tropic Thunder.

Tropic ThunderΒ has been out over ten years now and would you believe I’ve only just watched it? I cannot for the life of me remember why I never watched it… I was coming up to leaving college when this came out and from memory friends and my ex had all said it was shit… So it put me off. However, Dane recently made a joke from the film, “Everybody knows you never go full retard.”Β and I didn’t get it. So he explained it, popped the clip up on YouTube for me to watch and after finding out I’d not seen the film, he bought it for us to watch. It’s a pretty good film and I’m glad I’ve finally watched it to be perfectly honest with you. πŸ™‚

Favourite Songs – Regard – “Ride It” and Imany – “Don’t Be So Shy” (Filatov & Karas Remix).

I discovered both of these songs in November and I have quickly fallen in love with them! It’s crazy how you can fall for songs and gravitate towards them. I’ve found myself listening to these daily before, during and after work. They’re just good house/deep house tracks and ones that I feel anyone could enjoy. Although I mostly love rock music, I do have a love for electronica/house music too and this is due to the music I was brought up with. πŸ™‚

Favourite Game – Pokemon Shield.

Pokemon Shield is a game I’ve been playing loads throughout November as I’m looking to complete the Pokedex. However, I finally finished the game – aka became the champion! It’s only taken me a year. πŸ˜› Dane has also been playing Pokemon (Pokemon Sword) and we’ve both been enjoying sitting down over an evening/weekend and playing it together. Currently my main Pokedex is at 372 caught and Isle of Armor Pokedex is 190. I’m yet to start playing The Crown Tundra but I have been sent Pokemon from that region via surprise link/wonder trading. Someone sent me a Dratini and I was OVER THE MOON. Dragonite is one of my favourite Pokeon so you better believe it’s now in my team. πŸ˜› I’m hoping by the end of 2020 to have completed my Pokedex 100%. πŸ˜›

That’s about it for my monthly favourites guys! It’s not as long as it usually is, but I’m sick of waffling on about beauty products. Moving forward I will be talking about an independent store/brand I have discovered and loved throughout the month, as well as all relevant things I’d like to talk about more and share.

What have your favourites been from November?

I’m so excited for the blog posts/content I’ll be bringing throughout this month! Are you excited for it?

Make sure to leave all your answers in the comments below!

Until next time, take care all and stay safe. πŸ™‚

Ugly Christmas Sweater GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Guys, it is officially December and you know what that means? CHRISTMAS IS LOOMING! πŸ˜› This year has flew to be honest, especially the past 8 months since I started my new job. 2019 has been good and I’m feeling pretty confident that 2019 is going to finish with a bang! πŸ˜€

This is the last “official” monthly favourites of 2019 and I’m feeling a tad bit sad… Until the end of December when I do my 2019 favourites post… πŸ˜›

Anyhoo, I’m not going to dwindle too much with talking about the end of 2019… I haven’t even cracked open the first door of my advent calendar yet! πŸ˜›

  • Colgate Plax Gentle Care Extra Mild Mouthwash.

I’ve finally found a mouthwash I’m really enjoying using and if anything it feels like a treasure to use now instead of a chore. It’s not strong at all (hence it being called extra mild) which is really nice and it still leaves a lovely fresh feeling and scent behind. It’s not expensive either at less than Β£2 a bottle! I use this twice a day, after lunch and dinner. I wish they sold this in smaller bottles, just so I can keep a bottle in my bag, as well as at work. I do however, have a little mini travel Listerine bottle that I use instead, which is handy.

  • Gucci Envy Me EDT.

I forgot just got much I LOVE this perfume and it’s only from using it quite a bit throughout November that I rekindled my love for it. It’s a massive bottle so it’s handy just for taking in my backpack during the week when I’m going back and forth from work. It’s a light EDT which is handy if I don’t want anything heavy on. I have fond memories from my teenage years of this perfume, so it’s always nostalgic to wear. πŸ™‚

  • Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.

Since I started to get my nails painted with gel by my nail technician I’ve been using my cuticle cream/oil religiously! I use my handy cuticle oil before I go out in the morning for work and before I go to bed. I keep my cuticle cream on me to use when I’m out and about as well as at work. I really love this cuticle cream as it’s thick, a little goes a long way and I really do feel like it’s working when I use it. It also has a gorgeous lemon scent to it!

  • Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Collection.

I recently decided to treat myself to something from Boots using my Advantage Card points and opted for something beauty related… Fenty to be exact! I’ve never given Fenty a go and I’ve always heard nothing but good, so I was really excited to give these lip glosses a go! So far I LOVE them and have really enjoyed wearing the different shades throughout the week at work. I especially love the pink shade Pretty Please and the clear holo shade Confetti. These will be perfect to wear during Christmas parties too, as well as Christmas and New Year… Not to mention during my trip in Japan! I might write a review on these soon, but PLEASE let me know in the comments if you would like to see this. πŸ™‚

  • Beauticology Pink Lemonade Shower CrΓ¨me.

I picked up this shower cream quite a while ago now but I’ve only just got the chance to use it. Beauticology is a really good brand and one I have bought on and off in the past. I’ve never tried their shower creams before so was excited to give this one a go! It’s very fresh scented and really does perk me up in the mornings when I use it. The scent isn’t sickly sweet and is really subtle, which I enjoy. This also foams up lovely and a little goes a long way! I’d definitely like to give the other fragrances a try/

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – His Dark Materials.

I’ve really enjoyed watching this show with Dane on a Sunday evening. We go upstairs about 7.45pm and get ready and into bed ready for 8pm when this starts! It’s not something we do every Sunday night, but it’s definitely something I look forward to over the weekend! I’ve not read the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman but Dane has, so he was really excited for this show to start on BBC One. I started to watch it with him and really have become engrossed in it! It’s got a massive all star cast in there too, which is fab! My favourite character by far is Pan. πŸ˜€

Car Wash Scorsese GIF by swerk

Favourite Movie – The Irishman.

I know this only came out on Netflix towards the end of November, but it’s probably the only film I watched in November… It was definitely worth watching too! It’s over 3 hours long for fuck sake! If you love Goodfellas, then you will love this film. It’s by the same director (Martin Scorsese) and is based on a true story about a man who was an alleged hitman. Yes, it’s a long film but it is so well done that it’s definitely worth watching, whether it be on your own or with a couple of friends/family members. It’s very detailed so be prepared for that. If you take your eyes away for a moment, you may miss something important.

Favourite Book… Podcast – My Dad Wrote A Porno.

This is a podcast I have fast found myself listening to again and this time, I don’t regret it… I got really bored of it in season 3 the first time I started listening to it earlier this year and to be honest I was pretty sad I jacked it in and stopped listening. I use Spotify to listen to music whilst I’m at work and discovered that podcasts is a thing you can listen to on there. SO when I found outΒ My Dad Wrote A PornoΒ was on there, I decided to start from the beginning and give it a listen! I’m not at the start of season 4 and I am loving it! The only problem is that I find myself chuckling away quietly at my desk… Oops! πŸ˜› I definitely recommend giving this a listen if you have a filthy sense of humour like I do and don’t get embarrassed easily.

Favourite Music – Persona 5 Remastered – Collosia.

As many readers (if not all!) of my blog will know, I LOVE Persona 5 and have done since 2017 when it came out in the UK. Since then I have met friends due to that mutual love and discovered a game series that I love just as much as Pokemon. Recently my friend Amy (Writing into the Ether) has started playingΒ Persona 5Β and that makes me so damn happy! When I got home after meeting up with her I found the artist Collosia over on Spotify and since then I’ve been listening to their remastered versions of the soundtrack, which are just so damn good! I can’t wait to listen to them when driving to and from work, as well as when I’m travelling to and from Japan! πŸ˜€ My favourite track from the original soundtrack/the game is “Beneath the Mask”, so I just had to share this one with you all above.

Favourite Game – Pokemon Shield.

Of course I had to mention Pokemon on my favourites this month! I haven’t finished the game yet but I’ve played most of it and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I decided to opt for Pokemon Shield, whilst Dane went for Pokemon Sword. The game is so much fun to play and it’s great the way you can catch Pokemon out in the wild, however there isn’t all that much in terms of story, which is the biggest let down of them all. It just feels like you get a tiny bit of story about your rivals, the story behind the two legendary Pokemon and that’s it… Bit shit really when you look back at stuff like Team Rocket… As much as I love the game, I just want the old school games back like gen 1 and 2. 😦

So yes those are my favourites from November! They’re going up really late tonight due to just how busy I was this weekend. I was busy seeing and hanging out with friends, with some Christmas shopping in between too. I’ve also put up my Christmas tree at home and watched the odd Christmas film.

What were you guys loving throughout November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below as well as what you’re excited for throughout this month! It doesn’t need to be Christmas related either. πŸ™‚

Until next time all, take care and I hope your day has been Christmassy already!

November Favourites ’17

It’s December and it’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This year I even have not one, but two advent calendars and I have work to thank for both of them!

November for me was a mixture of a shit month and an amazing month, the latter outweighing the two. As many of you may have read, I left my old job in retail/hospitality and joined my new job in admin! I’ve just wrapped up my third week and I am still loving it. I just can’t believe how quick those three weeks have gone and I am now well and truly into the Christmas spirit!

This past week though I have been so drained that blogging has sadly taken a back seat. Even my favourites post this month is late being written due to this, so I do apologise for my silence the past week. Blogging will be back on schedule after today, I promise.

For now it is time for me to do the first out of both my monthly posts, the first of course being my favourites!

  • Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

As soon as me and Dane got back from our holiday in October, I knew it was time to get the Snow Fairy out of stash of Lush goodies! I always buy in the Boxing Day sales or get gifted a massive bottle of this glorious pink goo every Christmas/Birthday and I always save it for when Christmas is upon us. It just reminds me of Christmas and the closer we get to Christmas, the more excited I get! This scent is just Lush to me. Although not Snow Fairy, The Godmother shared it’s scent with this and that was the first Lush product I ever bought, so that already has a close spot in my heart. I love this shower gel though, but I’m so gutted Lush discontinued the large 1kg bottle this year.

  • Lancome Miracle EDP.

I always forget that I own this perfume, until recently! This is an old perfume to be honest and one that is probably WAY out of date by now. I’ve owned it since Christmas 2012 when my brother bought it for me. It smells so strong and whilst this isn’t a bad thing, it’s definitely changed from what it once was. I decided a week ago that I would use up as many perfumes as possible and just re purchase ones that are my favourites, as well as any new ones I REALLY want. I have way too many perfumes and there’s only one of me. This is a gorgeous and strong EDP though and one that I can only highly recommend for women in their late 20’s and up as it’s a pretty mature scent.

  • L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

This hand cream is amazing and I always forget this. The day I started my new job I decided I would start using this again and my hands are so grateful for it. I don’t really use it throughout my shift, as I use another one but this has been helping my hands in the morning before I leave for work and if my hands are super dry. I still have my massive tube as well, which lasts FOREVER! Best hand cream for sure, always helps my eczema during the cold months.

  • MUA Lip Liner in shade Dark Thistle.

This is a lip liner that I bought to accompany and work with any raspberry pink lipsticks I own and to be honest whilst I LOVE wearing it with those, I especially love wearing it on it’s own with a bit of gloss or lip balm. This is pretty much how I’ve worn it the past couple of weeks and probably how I’ll continue to wear it! These lip liners only cost a Β£1 and not only do they last ages on their own, as well as with lipsticks but they’re also super comfortable to wear AND even come with their own sharpener. I definitely want to invest in picking up more of these.

  • Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry.

I picked this up for my holiday to Fuerteventura back in September and throughout the whole holiday I used this constantly, only to come home and not use it. I threw it into my handbag the first day of my new job and since then that is where it’s stayed. I use it all the time at work and due to my office being warm this melts a little which makes it so much easier to use than it usually is! You can apply loads of this and it really does keep my lips feeling moisturised and soft. I’ve heard that Carmex have brought out a sugar plum flavour, which I intend to pick up asap!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – The Sinner.

This is a show that Dane told me about ages ago and had found online for us to watch. I never watched it and neither did he. When we found out it would be on Netflix we jumped at the chance to watch it. We binge watched it in a mere matter of days and the story is amazing! I didn’t know it was based off of a novel until I was searching for the trailer above, but it honestly doesn’t surprise me! It’s a thriller about a woman who murders a man on a beach and no one knows why. You find out more about her past as well as present as the story goes on and it really does keep you on the edge of your seat. If you fancy something to binge watch like this, please watch! I’ve also linked about the main song of the show as it’s amazing and as soon as I finished watching the show I went to find it so I could download it!

Favourite Film – The Boy & The Beast.

I have literally just finished watching this film. For ages now Dane has been trying to get me to watch this and for ages I said, “Nah I don’t want to, I won’t enjoy it.” Well it just goes to show how well Dane really knows me, it would seem more than myself as I loved watching this film. I thought it was going to be full of karate and kung fu style stuff, which is wasn’t. That’s why I thought I wouldn’t like it! It’s by the same people as The Wolf Children, which is one of my favourite anime films, so I shouldn’t have been surprised that I loved this film. This is currently on Amazon Prime Video to watch as subbed.

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Vol. 4.

I’VE STARTED READING AGAIN! I took some manga with me to work recently and actually read some, woohoo! It’s nice being able to get back into reading again as I’ve really missed it. It’s especially nice to have my lunch at my desk and read a manga. I have a feeling I’ve got some manga for Christmas this year so I need to make sure I read loads now before then to make sure I have time to read that too. πŸ˜›

Favourite Song/Album – Radio Bam.

If there’s one radio show (aside from any Tim Shaw has hosted!) I wish could come back, it’s Radio Bam, even if it came back as a podcast! I always forget how funny and random this show is and not only is the music amazing that Bam Margera plays throughout the shows, but the stories him and his guests (mostly the cKy guys) tell are so damn funny! Well, to me anyway. I’ve downloaded 100 episodes (there are 302 in total) and I’m currently listening to episode 17. The thing that made me think about downloading and listening to these again is the rush hour traffic I get stuck in on my way to work. I love listening to music on the way to work, but if I could listen to an episode of this instead, it would definitely make for an interesting change. I’ve popped up a funny moment above, I will say the show IS OFFENSIVE so this sort of thing won’t be for everyone, it is however for me, so sorry. πŸ˜‰ The clip above is definitely one of my favourites.

Favourite Game – Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, South Park: The Fractured But Whole and Sims 4.

Oh man this month has been about ALL THE GAMES for me! Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp came out and if you don’t know it by now, I’m a HUGE Animal Crossing fan! I’ve played all the games so when Nintendo announced a phone game, I knew I’d fall in love. When it came out in Australia and I saw my friends in the UK playing it, I was insanely jealous. So when it finally came out recently I downloaded straight away and since then I’ve been addicted.

As well as that I’ve also been addicted to playing Sims 4. Me and Dane played the demo of it on the Xbox One and although we enjoyed playing it, we didn’t like the way it played on the console. During Black Friday we picked it up online for less than Β£20 and we don’t regret it one bit. We’ve played it loads since and will probably spend most of tomorrow playing it together in bed, as well as on Sunday!

Finally I finished The Fractured But Whole and oh my God what a fucking ending! Although I’m not 100% sure/keen about the game play in the second game, I definitely love the story so much more! You can really see why it was getting delayed for so long, the guys did an amazing job with it and now I can’t wait to play it all over again to try and get all the trophies, like a sad git I am! πŸ˜›

So those are my favourites from November! I can’t believe in 30 days we’ll be looking to start a New Year. This year has gone by way too fast, can time just stop for a little? πŸ˜›

November Favourites

I am currently on holiday, but that isn’t stopping me from getting my favourites post written and scheduled on time like I always do! I’m actually writing this up the early hours before I fly… I’ll still get a lie in of course, but I won’t allow for my blog to miss out on posts… So my sleeping is missing out instead.

That probably makes zero sense, but it makes perfect sense in my half asleep, exhausted state. I graduated earlier today which was amazing, but more on that when I get back from my holiday as I want to talk more in depth about how it went, as well as show off what I wore.

So onto my favourites for November. Still cannot believe it’s December now! Not long until 2016.

  • Victoria’s Secret Body Mist in Snow Mint.

This is actually from last Christmas, but this is just how long it has lasted me since I bought it a year ago. This is a limited edition scent that only comes out for Christmas in Victoria’s Secret. I love the smell of this, it reminds me of sweet candy canes! I’m a massive fan of mint scents so when I first gave this a sniff it was right up my street. This has come back out again this year too, so if you like the sound of it you can pick it up! The packaging is different now however, so make sure to keep eyes peeled for it. What I love the most about this body mist however is how long it lasts for! I find most you’ll spritz yourself with them, and the scent disappears after a couple of hours. I’ve sprayed this on me before going to work, and when I’m getting changed at home after a long shift I’ll still smell of it! Due to this I especially love to use this after a late bath before bed, so I can smell of it all night.

  • Lily Flame candle in scent Fairy Dust.

Oh my I have been after this candle for years! First in the tin, then as the reed diffuser, and now I finally have it in the glass jar version! I picked this up on a whim when I was in Waitrose one afternoon after work. I always go and have a nose at the candles in there as they always smell amazing! They had this beauty and I just couldn’t leave without it. I can’t even describe the scent to be honest. It’s floral, but a little musky and sweet too. I hate floral scents to be perfectly honest with you, but I think this is the sort of candle where if you hate floral, this is a must have because it has all those notes, but just something else in there too! This wasn’t cheap to be honest at Β£12.00 but when I want something comforting after a long day at work, this has been what I go to. I definitely want to get the reed diffuser soon.

  • Lush Reindeer Rock Soap.

I love Lush, as regular readers will be aware of, and I especially love this soap. So far this year this is the only Christmas item I have picked up. Not even joking. Why (after I was so hyped about everything)? Because I am on a Lush ban! My boyfriend actually bought this soap for me after he treated himself to some goodies from there, and kindly offered me to have one thing. I picked this. I kinda wish I had picked up Yog Nog soap instead, but I am happy with my choice nonetheless. I picked up a bar of this last Christmas and the formula and colour of it has definitely changed somewhat. The one last year was burgundy, this year it’s a rich, dark purple. I don’t know which I prefer to be honest! Either way I’ve been using this soap none stop and I’m actually sad I can’t buy this whilst on holiday otherwise I would pick one up there to use as well.

  • Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in shade HoeHoeHoe.

I LOVE this lipstick, and to be honest I can’t wait to review it when I get back from holiday! It’s a beautiful deep red shade with pink and purple shimmer running throughout. I haven’t been able to wear it as much as I’ve wanted to due to a very painful cold sore, but before and after that I wore this all the time. I have noticed it isn’t as good as Jeffree’s permanent line (this one is out for Christmas as limited edition) but I’ll save all those details for a review!

  • L’Occitane Shea Zesty Lime Hand Cream.

I first picked up this hand cream about a year ago as a sample in a magazine. So I had one full size tube… Then I picked up a free one thanks to a voucher in the same magazine, making me the owner of two full size tubes, and then after all that my mom went in store to buy something and got given a set for free, with a matching lip gloss/balm! So now I own three of these bad boys. It was so long ago that I got these that I completely forgot that I owned them, and to be honest they have done my hands wonders these past couple of weeks. The weather has dropped in temperature and my eczema prone hands have really taken it hard. The Lush hand cream Love & Light (review here) really hasn’t done anything for my hands which I’m rather sad about. Thanks to L’Occitane my hands will keep soft and supple throughout the winter. I really want more of these in the future, especially the vanilla scented one!

So those were my favourites for November! What were you all enjoying using last month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and see you when I get back from holiday!
