Shuffle The Music Tag

Recently the beautiful and gorgeous lady that is Stacey tagged me to take part in the shuffle music tag! I love being tagged to do things, especially random tags like this one! I know I partake in enough tags to last me a lifetime, but I don’t recall ever doing a shuffle music tag and if I have, it was a VERY long time ago. I love listening to music, it’s what makes me who I am and over the years has shaped who I am too! It’s thanks to my older brother, as well as people I looked up to growing up that introduced to a lot of the artists I listen to today.

I’m not going to lie, I’m just gutted there was only 15 numbers, I kept wanting to add so many trackers after the initial 15! GUTTED! 😛

Again, thank you so much Stacey for tagging me! I loved reading your answers before I went ahead and took part in the tag! Now, let’s take a look at the rules:

And now it’s time to press “Shuffle”, and the first 15 tracks on my shuffle list are…

1) Lily Allen|Chinese

Oh man I remember when Lily Allen first came out, I fell in love with her music and sadly after this album I didn’t like her anymore. This is from her second album and I listened to it loads when I was in my final year of college and first year of university. I still really love this song as when I listen to the lyrics it reminds me of me and Dane when we first moved into the house and I was in a dark place. That and it’s just such a sweet and nice song, one you can definitely sing along to!

2) The Offspring|(Can’t Get My) Head Around You

This is a band I definitely grew up listening to and they hold a place deep down in my heart! I remember discovering them through the game Crazy Taxi and it was only when I asked my brother who they were that he put one of their albums on for me to listen to. I only own the greatest hits, but I need more music of theirs.

3) Mylo|Zenophile

Mylo is an artist I discovered when I went to college and it’s an album I always stick on whenever I’m on holiday, or having a “party” at our house as it’s such a chilled album. There isn’t one song on this album that I would skip because they’re all so amazing! I love chillout music so much and this is definitely my go to album when I want to listen to any. This song is so relaxed and chilled to listen to as well. Definitely give Mylo a listen if you want something chilled.

4) Knife Party|Resistance

If there’s a band I love, it’s Knife Party! They blew up years ago and are pretty much Pendulum, BUT BETTER! If you want some music you can listen to whilst driving on the motorway, or something to listen to before going on a night out, then Knife Party is the band to go to! When I was younger and went out clubbing pretty much every night (whilst working may I add! This wasn’t whilst I was a student!) this was my go to artist to listen to before going out. This is one of the newer tracks and as soon as “this is a knife!” hits, the bass just comes in and you can party! It reminds me of the sort of music people listen to whilst off their heads on something to give the more energy. 😛

5) The Bravery|Unconditional

Aww The Bravery! This is a band who I really liked, but not as much as I thought I would! I remember getting this song on a compilation CD from a friend and I loved it so much. Years later I bought the album and I was so disappointed! I remember as a kid reading about the rivalry between these guys and The Killers, The Killers back then were one of my favourite bands and their first album has a place in my heart. I still love this song so much though and it reminds me of when I was younger.

6) Nirvana|Heart-Shaped Box

Oh Nirvana, a band who I was brought up listening to, but due to my age I never understood them. When my brother and I started hanging out (I was 7 and he was 25) he tried to introduce me to everything he loved and it really did rub off onto me… But it only sunk in years later. Star Wars was one of them, Nirvana another. I just love their music, as well as the lyrics and this is probably my favourite Nirvana song.

7) Daft Punk|The Game Of Love

Daft Punk are one of my favourite bands and they’re also on my “band to see before they/I die” list. I was so damn excited back in 2013 when this album was announced and released and I listened to it daily and very loudly may I add. I loved it so much I even wrote a post about it on my blog! I’ll link it here if you fancy reading it. I really love this song on the album, it just sounds so heartbreaking and yet beautiful at the same time. It’s a very chilled song.

8) Queens Of The Stone Age|I’m Designer

Another band who are on my “band to see before they/I die” list! I love Queens Of The Stone Age so much and every time they have come to the UK I’ve not gone to see them! Usually because they’re too expensive for me at the time, they don’t play in Birmingham or because I have no one to go with! I’ve been listening to them for years and Josh Homme was one of my first crushes, aww baby Nat’s first ginger crush too (I wouldn’t even put it that way but Dane is a ginge… :P)! The album Era Vulgaris is definitely my favourite and I used to listen to it constantly when it first came out. Again, another album I hold close to my heart.

9) cKy|Tripled Manic State

cKy are one of my favourite bands and also one that I got to check off of my list of bands to see this year! They were amazing live and my 13/14 year old self was in love the whole night, especially when I got to meet Jesse Margera afterwards! But I love this song so much, it’s definitely an album that I ended up listening to loads when I was in college and just dealing with my depression. It was just like a comfort blanket that I would listen to on my way to and from college.

10) Eight Legs|These Grey Days

This is a song that used to be in a binge drinking advert in the UK and as soon as I heard it, I fell in love and took to YouTube to try and find out what it was! Thankfully I discovered it and thanks to the early days of MySpace, I got to download it for free and officially from the bands page! I still have it to this day and I love it still.

11) +44|Chapter XIII

I’m sorry Blink 182 fans, you will hate me BUT I loved +44 and I now love the new Blink 182 stuff and it’s all for one reason… NO MORE FUCKING TOM DELONGE! I’m sorry but he’s the reason I fell out of love with Blink 182 years ago. 😛 When I was in my last year of school a guy a year above who I was friends with introduced me to +44 WAYYYYY before they even brought their first single out. I fell in love with them and as soon as their album came out, I downloaded it. This album definitely reminds me of when I was really starting to become who I am today. It holds a place deep down in my heart.

12) RushJet1|Son Of Flynn

This is actually part of a chiptune album that came out with LOADS of Daft Punk songs on it and this actually the second album. It’s a huge compilation and this is just one of the artists who features on it. This is by far my favourite song on the second album and is one I listen to repeat if it comes on in the car.

13) Bloodhound Gang|Farting With A Walkman On

I know a lot of people who dislike Bloodhound Gang (because of their stupid lyrics. Fuck it man, I’d prefer that to depressing love songs ALL THE DAMN TIME!), Dane being one of them but they’re one of the bands from my childhood, purely because of The Bad Touch. This song used to come on the dance games back in the day and I remember my one cousin loving it. We called it The Waffle Song because we didn’t know what it was called! Years later, thanks to cKy and Bam Margera I found out who Bloodhound Gang were and it’s been a massive love affair since then. This (AGAIN!) is another band on my bands to see before I die list. Every time they have come to the UK I haven’t been to see them and I regret it so fucking much.

14) Oasis|Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Oasis is another band I was brought up listening to and this was the first album I owned by them and due to that it is definitely my favourite. This in turn is one of my favourite songs on the album and one I have sang to various times, whether I’m upset, happy, or just normal and fine. Of course Noel Gallagher sings, so it sounds lovely. 😛 Although me and my one brother don’t talk anymore, Oasis and Nirvana both remind me of him and I guess it’s him introducing me to such amazing music that’s shaped me to who I am today…

15) Pharrell|Frontin’ Feat. Jay-Z

Oh man, remember when Pharrell was in N.E.R.D. and they played funk rock? Yeah me too! 😛 This was when Pharrell really went out and did his own thing and I fell in love with it! The tune was catchy, the singing was chilled and nice and it just worked. Especially for the time when it came out as well! I still love listening to this song today and it’s definitely a classic to listen to during the summer and especially on holiday. Oh and Jay-Z is on it, so it’s got to good, right? 😛

This is a very different post today, but something I felt compelled to write about after some serious fashion stress last night.

As “winter is coming” (I don’t EVEN LIKE Game of Thrones!) I always have a look around the shops for a new winter coat. I didn’t buy one last year as I have my amazing Topshop parka that I have used the past two years. It’s warm and amazing and cozy and I wouldn’t replace it for anything, BUT when it comes to going out in the evenings for Christmas parties and such, I would like to be able to wear a coat that isn’t heavy, and too cozy, and RED. I have a red duffle coat but due to owning it for about 5 years, it is starting to see its last days. So what better than to look around for a new one.

I looked on Topshop, New Look, and even ASOS and you know what I got when I selected the “red” colour? BURGUNDY! Which just reminded me of Kinky Boots, and this sassy as hell clip…

When I click red, I want red! I love burgundy, don’t get me wrong, but I love red more. If there is a colour that suits me a hell of a lot, it is the colour red.

Years ago I probably did want a burgundy coat, which soon fizzled away. I just don’t understand why burgundy wouldn’t have its own option during the autumn and winter season. Same with the colour mustard as well! Even though that is closer to yellow than burgundy is to red.

Although I do not agree with this… Sex should be comfy, and so should my red coat to be! 😛

With no luck of finding anything red, I thought I would show you what berry coloured coats I have found on ASOS that are still beautiful.

November Wish List

It’s November… Really? This is probably the quickest year I have so far seen and it’s really quite scary. It only felt like yesterday when my boyfriend and I were starting to get ready to celebrate our first Christmas together and now Christmas is next month. Scary or what?

I doubt very much I will be buying much this month as I really do need to save my money for Christmas and also for things I ACTUALLY need. If I buy anything for myself it’ll be more so as a “Ooo I have spare cash, TREAT TIME.” which we all do, don’t try and deny it ladies (and gents!).

In all fairness Christmas IS just around the corner and if I end up buying things it won’t give my boyfriend and family any ideas on what to buy me.

So here is a wish list of things I MIGHT (but probably won’t) buy.

• Crowded Teeth Fox Coin Purse.

My holiday is due soon and I really want to make sure I get everything ready for it as soon as I can, this is including some clothing as well as other bits and bobs. I have the wallet to match this purse and I’d really like this purse to take with me on my holiday. I don’t particularly want to take my big wallet with my on holiday as it’s full of store cards I can’t really use abroad. However with a nice little coin purse I can use it for my euro coins and notes, as well as a few cards. This is currently in the sale and if it’s still available after Christmas I’ll definitely pick it up! I nearly bought the shoulder/tote bag to match this design but I left it… I would have bought it but I didn’t like the design, sadly.

• Iron Fist Rotten Smile Oversized Raglan T-Shirt.

I’m a huge fan of Iron Fist and have been ever since they brought the brand over to the UK about 10 years ago. Their clothing is perfect for someone alternative like me and are great quality for great prices. They currently have a huge sale on their website, as well as some new pieces, including this one. I’ve been after some new oversized t-shirts for a while now, especially for university as I like to be comfortable and this just looks so snug! I really do like the print on the front too, as it does really look rotten with the cartoons smile! It’s just a nice spin on the smiley face. I would of course take this on holiday to wear in the evenings with shirts or over a bikini.

• The Body Shop Glazed Apple Hand Cream.

I LOVE hand creams at this time of year and due to my eczema they’re also a life saver. I have 3 L’Occitane hand creams to keep me going throughout winter, but I like to have some lighter formula hand creams to carry around with me in my bag. I love The Body Shop’s hand creams for this and my current favourites are their latest Coconut and Strawberry ones. For Christmas they have brought out a new collection, Glazed Apple and from what I have heard, it smells delicious! I already want the majority of the collection but I really have my eyes set on the hand cream. To have my hands smelling like apple Hubba Bubba is a dream come true and the sooner I get my hands on this, the softer and better smelling they’ll be!

• Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

I’m a massive nerd, always have been and like most nerds, I love Pokemon and have done ever since Pokemon Red and Blue came out. I never bought the original Ruby and Sapphire games on the Game Boy Advance and I’m quite sad that I missed that era, but I was just too in love with the originals to buy any of the Advance games. However now The Pokemon Company have re-released the games out on the 3DS, which I own and love! So I will be getting my hands on this game possibly the day it comes out in November… But I’m not 100% sure I will or not, as Christmas is coming and if someone wishes to buy me that game, then so be it. BUT I can’t wait to play it! I played a demo a few weekends ago and it was really fun to play.

• Oasis Strawberry Playsuit.

I have been eying up this playsuit for quite a while now and I remember being out with my friend Poppy when I saw it. “Get it!” she told me, but I told her I would wait for it to be in the sale, as at nearly £50 that was a lot of money for me. Now it’s less than £20 in the sale AND in my size! So I’ve actually already ordered this, but alas it can still be on my wish list. This is a gorgeous playsuit and very lively with the red strawberries all over it. I love playsuits and have been looking for some to replace the standard skirt/shorts and t-shirt. ALSO because I want to wear them on holiday as it’s just so easy to throw a playsuit on for the daytime and evening. I can’t wait to wear this out one weekend too with a cardigan, a massive coat, thick tights and boots.

• Iron Fist Ship Wrecker Bikini Set.

Another piece I want for my holiday! I have two swimming costumes ready for my holiday, but as of yet not a bikini set, and I know I’ll need one for when I want to tan and have lazy days lying in the sun. I wanted to go for a nice bikini that resembles me and I really do think this one does that perfectly! As well as that it’s Iron Fist (who I’ve already stated I love) and it’s in the sale, so I can’t really go wrong with this one. The bikini top would look amazing under a sheer t-shirt, or even teamed up with a pair of denim shorts.

• The Lacquer Lab Limited Edition (For Halloween) Polish in Teen Witch.

This nail polish is beautiful, and stunning, and all words that mean good! It’s very Halloweeny and whilst a lot of people would buy this, wear it on Halloween and never again, I would wear it all the time! I’ve just never seen anything like this before, and I doubt anything like this will be brought out anytime soon. I can see me buying this for myself as a treat as this month gone hasn’t exactly been stressful but the past couple of weeks I’ve felt a tad run down and crappy. So, that’s my wish list for this month! I can’t see me buying much off of it due to Christmas coming up, but I really do want the nail polish as it’s just so gorgeous… Watch this space!
