September Wish List ’18

Yay for September! As I mentioned on my previous post, I love September and it’s by far my favourite month of the year. However, whilst I have some goodies on this wish list that I would LOVE to buy, I’m actually intending to go on a spending ban this month. Anything I buy will be because I NEED it and not because I WANT it.

This is because I plan to go to London to see my friend Sophi closer to Christmas and I need monies for that of course! πŸ˜€

So this is definitely a wish list and not a, “Fuck it! I’ll buy it!” I hope you like this wish list though. πŸ˜›

  • New Look Navy and Red Check Tapered Trousers – (link)

I honestly don’t need anymore of these trousers but these are pretty nice and I can always do with more trousers for work, especially as the weather is getting cooler now. Is it sad though that one of the reasons I want these is because they remind me of the ones that Joker wears in Persona 5? HA! πŸ˜› Yes I am a sad person. In all honesty though I love wearing these trousers for work and a recent pair I bought from New Look are so comfortable and definitely my favourites to wear.

  • Nintendo 3DS Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrith – (link)

I’m currently playing Persona 4: Golden and I LOVE that game! Although I don’t love the fact that my Phantom Thieves babies aren’t in it from Persona 5… Again, sad much?! Atlus recently announced that Persona Q2 would be coming out in Japan at the end of this year, so before we know it it’ll be out here in the UK too. I’ve been meaning to play the first Persona Q game but as of yet I haven’t. Soon as I’ve finished Persona 4: Golden, I’ll be buying this next! I’d love to get the actual game but it’s too expensive these days, especially when Nintendo eShop have it for the great price of Β£17.99. Whilst writing this blog post I’ve come down with a cold, so a part of me was so damn tempted to pick it up now, but meh I’ll be good. πŸ˜›

  • Funko Pop! Vinyl Spyro The Dragon & Sparx – (link)

I didn’t know that this Pop was coming out until I was writing my 7 games I’m excited for post recently. I found it on the GAME website when I was looking at Spyro Reignited on there and now I want it so badly! I don’t even know where I would keep it in my house, but it just looks adorable. I’d probably end up keeping it in my manga cupboard, or even by mine and Dane’s computer. I doubt I’ll buy it, but it sure will go on a Christmas list. πŸ˜›

  • Etsy TeanoSugar Persona 5 Joker Hard Enamel Pin – (link)

Urgh pin badges are kind of taking over my life and I am incredibly surprised that I haven’t ordered this yet… Again, I’m trying to be good! I have so many pin badges and sadly I can only wear one or two at a time. BUT this Joker pin badge is amazing and oh so perfect that eventually I will need it, no matter what! I’d wear this for work all the bloody time, as well as over the weekends on coats and hoodies. I would love to see Morgana and Ryuji made too and when I eventually order this pin, I’ll definitely ask the seller if they’ll be making anymore designs.

  • TeePublic Wezdesign Morgana Mona Persona 5 T-Shirt – (link)

Looking back at this wish list, I feel like half of it is Persona 5 related. Sorry guys that I’m a hardcore P5 fangirl! I could be worse. πŸ˜› I remember seeing this print/design on Redbubble ages ago but it suddenly vanished and I don’t know why. The same design is no on TeePublic and it’s pretty adorable! I need more Morgana t-shirts in my life and whilst I do like this on a t-shirt, I’d love to get it on a sweater a little bit more. I refuse to buy anymore though… Again, Christmas list. πŸ˜›

  • The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Caring Bath Milk – (link)

This is the last item on this list and it’s definitely one I really wanted to buy at The Body Shop event I went to recently for Coventry bloggers. I thought I’d be good though but since then I’ve been thinking about it. I love a good bubble bath and since I’ve stopped buying Lush products I’m trying to find places that sell similar products for good prices. I am LOVING The Body Shop right now for bath related stuff! I recently tried one of their bath bombs and it was perfect, absolutely perfect. I really like the Almond Milk & Honey range and would love to give the bath milk a go, especially with winter coming up.

So there is my wish list for this month! I am planning not to buy anything from this list to be honest with you. I need to save my monies. πŸ˜›

What goodies do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time though, take care guys and I hope you had an awesome weekend.

Wish List Wednesday – Rainbow Fashion Collab Post!

Today’s wish list Wednesday is such an exciting one and it’s for one reason in particular! This is a collab post with the one and only wonderful blogger, Estelle over at Estellosaurus.

If there is one rainbow queen who I know it is her! I love her outfit posts and I always end up going to look at one piece of clothing she’s wearing in said post online.

It’s because of her that I recently bought myself a new rainbow cardigan and she’ll probably be the cause for many more rainbow purchases… She’s definitely a bad influence. πŸ˜›

So we decided to work together to do a collab post and I have been so excited to get it written down! We decided that I would do a wish list Wednesday about rainbow fashion pieces I want and Estelle is going to talk about the rainbow fashion pieces she owns. I would have done the same as Estelle, but sadly I only own two items, which are both my amazing rainbow cardigans! πŸ˜€

So without further ado, bring on the rainbow goodies!

  • Monki Rainbow Stripe Tee – (link)

I’ve had my eye on picking up a rainbow stripe tee from Monki for AGES but every time I’ve had a look at one it’s either sold out completely or sold out in my size! When I recently visited Bristol with Dane I had a look in the Monki shop inside Cabot Circus and got super excited! Sadly the rainbow stripe tee wasn’t in my size and it looks really cropped too, which sucked. I’m going to keep the hope alive though for a nice striped rainbow tee like this one!

  • Monki Crew Neck Rainbow Jumper – (link)

This jumper really does remind me of the one that Lazy Oaf brought out and it looks AMAZING! I would love this jumper to rock to work on Monday’s and Friday’s throughout the colder months, as well as over weekends with friends or lazy days in with Dane. I especially love that the sleeves are a little tighter, because although I love baggy sleeves that can hide my hands, it can be a bit of a pain when working. My only issue with this jumper is that it looks cropped… So I’d want to see what it looks like in the Bristol Monki store before buying!

  • Boohoo Rainbow Stripe T-Shirt Dress – (link)

I’ve been after some more t-shirt dresses for a while to wear with my normal black leggings, as well as with my Black Milk Clothing leggings and whilst I’m on a massive rainbow love and high, this top would be awesome to wear with my black leggings all casual and such! I wouldn’t be able to wear this for work, it would purely be for when I can’t be arsed to dress up and want to be comfortable. I could imagine itΒ  being a great t-shirt dress to wear on sick days too. πŸ˜›

  • Rocks N Rainbows Ringer Tee – (link)

This is a really cute tee but I wish it was in the UK! I know you can order from the Dolls Kill site and get them sent to the UK, but you know… πŸ˜› ANYWAY! This isn’t technically a rainbow item, but it has a rainbow on it so that counts… Right? πŸ˜› I really love this tee for both work and casual because it’ll just go and work with anything and everything! I especially love the red around the collar and sleeves, it’s a really nice touch and works really well! It also isn’t a bad price either, which I’m always happy with. πŸ˜›

  • Club Exx Dark Rainbow Anodized Boots – (link)

Oh man I just had to add these boots to this list! I know they’re not shouting in your face that they’re rainbow, but fuck me are these sexy boots! I love a good pair of Dr Martens boots and live in them throughout autumn and winter, but these are just something else. To me my Docs are my, “Don’t piss me off…” boots, whereas these would be, “Don’t fuck with me!” boots. You know what I mean? They’d just be awesome to wear throughout the autumn months and possibly spring too.

  • Lazy Oaf Pastel Stripe Rainbow Cardigan

This is a cardigan I have been lusting after for the longest time, but these days it’s a bit of a struggle to find unless you remortgage your house first! It was the original Lazy Oaf rainbow bored cardigan that kick started everyone off on the rainbow cardigan craze and I can honestly understand why! Since then, everyone has been either lusting after that cardigan, the one I’m talking about or any others for that matter! I still want this one and as soon as I find it for a decent price, it WILL be mine! I love wearing cardigans for work, as well as in general and this is such a muted and gorgeous colour that I just need it in my life! HEY if you’re selling one and want a decent price for it, DROP ME A COMMENT ASAP! xD

  • Run & Fly Unisex Rainbow Jumper – (link)

Finally we have another jumper on this list and it’s the last thing I’ll be talking about today. This is actually a unisex product and honestly I LOVE unisex and men’s clothing, it’s always so much more comfortable than women’s. This is such a vintage looking jumper and I feel like it’s something you’d have seen someone wear in the 60’s or 70’s. Or even something from the 90’s that someones picked up in a charity shop. This would be super cozy to wear throughout the autumn and winter months, both at work as well as over the weekends for chilly evenings out. It isn’t cheap at Β£30.00 but I would like to pick it up in the near future.

So those are all my rainbow goodies for my wish list Wednesday! I’m not a massive rainbow magpie, but I do love me some signature rainbow pieces!

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to Estelle for agreeing to do this rainbow themed collaboration with me! Make sure to head over to her blog to check out what she’s written! I posted her link at the start of this post, but I’ll pop it here too.

Please make sure to go and give Estelle some love, not only is she an amazing and adorable blogger, but she’s also an absolute gem and lovely to talk to. I love that I’ve met her through blogging as she’s definitely one of my favourite bloggers and become a very good blogging friend in such a short period of time.

Anyhoo, I’m off for the day! I hope you all have a lovely day and until next time, take care all!

Joanie Clothing – Review

I want to first of all say how I wanted to come up with something witty for the title of this blog post this morning, but alas I failed. This is a post I’ve wanted to write for a while now, but I’ve just recently realised what I wanted to say and how I wanted to say it.

Let me just warn readers, this won’t be an amazing review. It’ll be one of those honest reviews that have a mixture of positive and negative thrown in there. If it wasn’t for my recently order, I probably won’t have written this post just yet. BUT whilst I’m fresh and ready to write about this, I NEED to get it down.

I can’t remember exactly when I heard about Joanie Clothing for this first time, but I have a feeling it was around Christmas just gone and it was through someone on Instagram talking about some of their dresses and jumpers.

Recently I decided I wanted to order myself some new dresses for work and in general. I took ages researching about the company and looking at all their clothes on the website before decided on a couple of pieces.

I want to first of all explain my understanding of Joanie. NOW to my knowledge, Joanie create vintage inspired pieces for all sizes. I’ll post a part from the about us section on their website below.

From an idea first sparked in December 2015, Joanie was born out of a desire to create vintage-inspired style for the modern wardrobe, with fun, flirtation and femininity at its heart. Our brand is inspired by our Designer’s Great Aunt, Joanie; a glamorous woman who tapped and twirled her way through the fifties and sixties. She was always well-turned out with perfectly coiffed red hair and to this day, Joanie enjoys nothing more than an afternoon of tea dancing, indulging in high tea with friends, and an ice cold glass of ginger beer.

We’re passionate about making beautiful clothes, lovingly fashioned with a pinch of playfulness, a splash of quirkiness and a healthy dose of nostalgia. Whatever the occasion, our girl exudes an undeniable, effortlessly cool aesthetic and stands out from the crowd without making noise. The quintessential Joanie gal is quietly confident, witty and full of wonder – with an infectious fervour for life’s little pleasures. She wears her heart on her sleeve, is loyal to the end and prides herself on being a great friend. Believing that our look is for every body, Joanie’s pieces are always available in sizes 8-22. We are inclusive, not exclusive and celebrate individuals who know their own style; bringing them together as a united community where everyone is welcome. As a brand, we’re inspired by decades past and life’s surprising details; whether it be an intricate print on a china tea set, pretty embroidery on a collar or the pastel washed houses lining sea front villages on the Italian Riviera.

Joanie delivers the perfect antidote to run-of-the-mill fashion with a fun, youthful take on the vintage look, underpinned by timeless feminine silhouettes. With ranges of stand-out dresses, printed tops, cute skirts, novelty knits and unique accessories dropping regularly online, there’s always something new to be captivated by and covet. As Great Aunt Joanie would say, β€œthat’s champion!”

I love what Joanie is about, I really do but as you’ll read in my review. Meh… You’ll see.

I decided to order two dresses from Joanie after much research via Google searches, Instagram posts and even asking a couple of bloggers on Twitter.

One of dresses was the Zooey Floral Collar DressΒ and the Calista Geometric Bee Print Dress.

The Zooey dress I grabbed in their sale and the Calista dress I got 10% off due to this being my first order from Joanie. I was chuffed by my discounts and savings and couldn’t wait for both the dresses to arrive! I had read on a blog post how the Zooey dresses can pull and gape a little across the bust, which was annoying to read but I hoped for the best!

When the dresses finally arrived I was so excited to get them out of the bag and try them on! The parcel arrived quite quickly and I saved money off of my postage due to ordering over Β£60, otherwise it’s Β£4.00 postage.

Dane came upstairs to look at the dresses as I tried them on and I am so glad he was there as a second pair of eyes. When I ordered the dresses he helped me decide. He loved the red Zooey dress I ordered, but hated the Calista Bee one. I loved them both, of course.

I tried the red Zooey dress on first, which I ordered a size up of as they didn’t have my own size left. I was incredibly disappointed by this dress for various reasons, which I also stated on my review of this dress on their website. I was sad to learn that what bloggers has been complaining about online, happened to be true. Due to it being a size too big I had no issues putting the dress on, but when it came to moving about in it, it was just a no no. The bust area of the dress is closed by buttons and I only moved a fraction and ALL the buttons popped open at the same time. I tried this over and over again to make sure it wasn’t just the once, it happened all 3-5 times I tested this out. My bust isn’t the smallest, but it also isn’t the biggest either so the fact the dress was a size up and this was occurring, I was really disappointed. Not only this, the dress made me look MASSIVE. It sat on my hips and it made me look like I was 3 sizes bigger than I actually am. It really did knock my confidence. Thankfully I had Dane there to encourage me and make me feel better.

Sadly this dress was sent back for a refund, which Joanie were really quick to sort out. You just get a receipt when you take the parcel to the Post Office to keep as proof of you sending it back. Joanie don’t offer exchanges, only refunds but this doesn’t stop you from just re ordering another size, or even a totally different dress.

Then it was time to try on the Calista Bee dress. This was gorgeous and I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on. This dress scream 70’s to me, which is a style I absolutely adore. The fit of this dress is comfortable and yet glamorous. The length is perfect and goes right to the knee and depending on your height, even past it. I did worry about the buttons on the bust due to the issue I had with the red Zooey dress, but I didn’t have any issues… At first, but I’ll go into that in a while. This dress is a perfect cross between a mini and a maxi dress and is perfect for spring, summer and autumn!

Since buying that dress however, I have encountered some issues! The first time I wore it was during a shift at work. I got nothing but compliments on it and I loved it so much! Later that day I wore it out for a shopping evening with one of my friends and sadly that is when I encountered some issues. The buttons started to pop open, but thankfully I had my coat on over the top so no one would have known apart from myself. I got home and find all the buttons undone, which I knew was the case anyway.

I went to wear this dress again for mine and Dane’s date night last week when we went to see Deadpool 2 and sadly I couldn’t even get out of the house in this dress without all the buttons popping undone with any sudden movements I made. I was so angry and flustered. What the fuck had happened in such a short space of time?!

I’ve now bought some safety pins to use to keep the buttons closed and sadly I haven’t given this a go yet, but I’m pissed off that I HAVE to do this. I could send the dress back, but I kind of love it too much to do that to it. I’ll make it work, but my point is I shouldn’t have to.

This didn’t put me off however and about a month later I found myself making another order from Joanie for a dress I’d had my eye on since my first order! I had a 20% discount code so I decided to use this. I ended up ordering the Gogo Blue Floral Dress which reminded me of the 70’s yet again. It looked a perfect summer dress and I thought how lovely it would look for a wedding I’m going to at the start of July. Again, like the previous order I’d made I was SUPER excited for the dress to arrive.

The first thing I did when I got home from work was open the package and get the dress out to try. I was a bit taken back when I took it out of the packaging and held it in my hands and felt how thick and heavy the dress was. Considering it’s meant to be a summer dress, it didn’t exactly feel like it. Oh man, I had so many issues with this dress and I knew straight away it was going to be sent back.

As you’ll see from the image, this is a long sleeved dress, which I knew I was buying but come on Joanie, a thick material for a summer dress with long sleeves? Really?!

Like the red Zooey dress, this dress made me look bigger than I actually am, as it hung on my hips and made me look really wide. It just made me feel horrible to wear due to the thick material too. Due to how warm it has been lately when I tried this on I felt like I couldn’t breathe due to how hot I was, I couldn’t wait to get it off due to that alone.

Now I didn’t realise that this was a wrap around style dress, I thought it was a V neck style. Oh how wrong I was. I didn’t think it would be a problem though when I put it on, but in actual fact it was awful! My chest was constantly on show and if it wasn’t that, the dress was folding over itself and instead of showing off the gorgeous floral pattern, it was showing the white material that’s obviously inside the dress. Not good.

Due to the band bit where the tie at the back of the dress is, the zip struggled to do up and undo and I was worried this was due to me not fitting into the dress, but when I asked Dane for help, he confirmed that it was the dress itself as he could see that the dress fit me fine. If I had of been on my own I wouldn’t have been able to do or undo the dress.

This dress was just such a disappointment and I had such high expectations for it. I’m quite gutted and this is the dress that has put me off ordering from Joanie Clothing anytime soon, if ever again. This was send back the next day.

I cannot tell you how incredibly disappointed I am about the two dresses I’ve had issues with. I haven’t been feeling too confident about my body and my weight recently, so of course you order a dress or two to cheer yourself up. You know, retail therapy and all that shit. So when they turn up and make you feel WORSE than you already did. It sucks. I know this isn’t Joanie’s fault by the way. Their dress styles are gorgeous and something different that I fell in love with, BUT they aren’t designing with larger busted women in mind and I think that’s pretty shit. I also think the pockets that they include into some of their dress styles cause the issues of dresses hanging funny on hips and making people look bigger than they actually are. I assume this much because my Bee dress doesn’t have pockets and I haven’t found this issue. Plus the buttons they use on some of their dresses are complete shite, yes I said shite and I don’t care. You’re paying almost Β£40 for a dress, I expect the buttons to at least stay done up all day!

I’ve read on the website on reviews for certain dresses that it isn’t just me who has had issues with the style and cut of Joanie’s dresses, others have had similar if not exactly the same problems.

I’m not meaning to bash Joanie Clothing in this post, but merely highlight the good and the bad things about the clothing. I like to think I’m “real” on my blog and talk about both good and bad things I’ve used/worn from lipstick, clothing and even customer service!

I really hope you enjoyed my post today however. I’m sure I’ll give Joanie Clothing another go in the future, but I doubt it’ll be dresses.

Have you shopped with Joanie Clothing before? If so, how were their dresses for you? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having an awesome bank holiday weekend!

Wish List Wednesday – Work/Office Wear

I don’t feel like I’ve done a wish list Wednesday for ages and I’ve really missed doing it! Expect loads with Christmas coming up, as I’ll be working on present ideas for all sorts, which I should be teaming up with Sarah over at Raiin Monkey to do some posts on!

With my new job I recently went on a mini shopping trip to pick up some bits and pieces as I had pretty much sod all! You can read about what I picked up here. I’m already craving some new pieces though and I won’t be able to grab anything for a while, so I thought I would take the opportunity to do a wish list of what goodies I want.

  • New Look Black Velvet Skater Skirt – Β£12.99 (link)

On my recent haul I picked up the normal black skater skirt and it’s so comfortable so now I want the velvet version! It’ll definitely be really nice to wear throughout the winter, especially with a nice mustard jumper and a red shirt. It’s also a really decent price too, which you can’t moan about!

  • Killstar Wicca Flats – Β£44.99 (link)

I don’t really need a new pair of flats as I have a pretty much brand new pair that I bought for my graduation 2 years ago! Now I wear them for work and they’re okay, but they’re not the best to be honest. They’re a little bit too big for me and I can’t drive in them. I want a new pair of flats to just wear casually anyway in and outside of work and I’ve had my eyes on these for a while! I won’t be paying full price for them as for flats they’re really expensive, but if they’re on offer I’ll soon pick them up.

  • Her Universe Studio Ghibli Kiki’s Delivery Service Jiji & Lili Town Pattern Blouse – $44.90, currently $35.92 (link)

This is a brand I’ve recently discovered and it’s so damn amazing! I’d know about it through Hot Topic for a while but never realised it was a brand until I was gathering items for this post. It was actually Vikki over at Cuteek who linked me to Her Universe when I was asking on Twitter about work clothing. There really are some great pieces for work on the website and I wish I could afford this shirt right now. One day it WILL be mine! It’s part of the Studio Ghibli designs and this one is of the cats Jiji and Lili Town from Kiki’s Delivery Service. This was one of the first Studio Ghibli movies I watched so I have a place in my heart for Kiki and Jiji. This shirt would be really nice to wear with a black skater skirt and boots.

  • Killstar Santeria Distress Knit Tunic – Β£49.99, currently Β£24.99 (link)

Another Killstar item and this one is a knitted tunic. Killstar do gothic pieces, some of them can definitely be wearable and this is one of them. It’s just a basic tunic pretty much but it looks so snug and comfortable! I’d team it with leggings and boots or flats. I wish I could grab it whilst it’s on sale, but sadly I doubt I’ll be able to. This being said though, this has been on sale for quite some time, so fingers crossed! My only concern with this is I would worry the knit wouldn’t feel nice to the touch, I’d hate that so much!

  • EMP Jawbreaker Fishnet Collar Dress – Β£41.99 (link)

This dress is so expensive and it makes my bank account hurt. BUT it’s also gorgeous and definitely the style I’ve been after for my new job… Just with normal sleeves instead of fishnet. I’m not going to complain though as it’s gorgeous! I will wait for it to drop in price though as for what it is, nearly Β£42 is a bit too much for my liking, but again when this goes in the sale I’ll definitely pick it up!

  • Hot Topic Her Universe Studio Ghibli Spirited Away Confetti Wrap Dress – $49.90, currently $39.92 (link)

Another Studio Ghibli piece by Her Universe and it’s one I would love to have for work! My favourite Studio Ghibli film and one of my favourite films is Spirited Away so anything to do with that film is always something I want to own if I can. I’d love to be able to own a dress with Haku on as he’s my favourite, but I love No Face just as much! Like the Kiki’s Delivery shirt, it would be lovely to be able to wear a piece like this for work and on days off to show my love of the Studio Ghibli movies.

  • Sainsbury’s TU Navy Checked Print Wide Leg Trousers – Β£20.00 (link)

I actually came across these on one of my work breaks last week! I was looking for some plain t-shirts to pick up for work as Sainbury’s do some really nice ones for good prices! Instead I ended up finding these tartan looking trousers, which are wide leg. They’re elasticated like the houndstooth ones I picked up from New Look, so I definitely need them in my life! I’d team these with a cream or mustard yellow jumper.

So those are the pieces I’ve been eyeing up to buy for work! I know it sounds incredibly sad, but I’m still so happy with my new job and I know it’s going to be so dangerous now I can wear my own uniform! I can wear nice clothes, so it’s going to be a constant excuse for me to buy a pretty dress. πŸ˜›

Do you work in an office? If so where do you get your pieces for work? Please leave me links below as I would love some ideas of where to shop for things!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you week is going well!

Work Wear/Office Haul

If someone had of told me 6 months ago that I would be writing this sort of post I would fast tell them to shut up. I am so excited to write this post and it would have been up sooner, but due to being bust it’s a tad behind (3 days to be exact…).

I recently went on a mini shopping spree to grab some essential pieces for my new job (which you can read all about here!) and I’m so pleased with what I managed to get.

The three places I shopped at were Primark, New Look and Peacocks, most of my purchases were from Primark. I’m also including a few older pieces in here that I’ll be wearing for my new job too. 1. Because the wonderful Vikki over at Cuteek wanted to see one of the dresses and 2. I didn’t pick up any dresses for my new job (yet) so I thought I’d show what ones I have for it at the moment. I also didn’t pick up any shoes so I’ll be showing off two pairs I already own. AND I have a shirt I picked up from M&S just before my holiday that I want to show off too, as it’s one of the best shirts I’ve ever owned.

I also have a cardigan I’ve ordered but as that hasn’t arrived yet, I’ll be using a stock photo.

As well as showing off what items I bought, where from and prices I’ll also be showing off how I’ll style pieces together.

Let’s get on with the haul!

  • Primark Supersoft Jumper in the colours cream, mustard yellow, red and dark grey – Β£6.00 each.

I love, love, LOVE these jumpers so damn much! I picked the mustard yellow one up nearly a month ago and have worn it quite a bit since then. I haven’t yet worn it for work, but I’ve teamed this up outside of work with my denim shorts, as well as black skinny fit jeans. I wore the red one for work on my first day with the black skater skirt I picked up from New Look and it looked lovely. These jumpers are so damn comfortable and don’t feel tight. If anything they feel slightly baggy on the sleeves, which I love as I have shy hands and love to cover them up. I especially love the button detailing on the shoulders. These are available in a wide range of colours! If there were certain colours I really wanted them they were cobalt blue, burgundy and dark green.

  • Primark Red, black and white Floral Shirt – Β£7.00.

I didn’t have many high hopes for this shirt when I took it to the changing rooms to try on, but it actually really surprised me and I knew straight away that I would be buying it. That and Β£7?! BARGAIN! It’s a gorgeous vintage looking shirt and one I have tried on with both trousers and skirt and looks amazing with both. The only issue I had with it when tucking it into the skirt was that it left a bit of a bulge underneath my bust, which made me look fat/pregnant. When I tried this on and didn’t tuck it in it didn’t show off my bust through the buttons etc, but when I tucked it into the skirt it did just this, as well as the bulge, so I can see this being worn mostly with trousers. With one pair that I bought (houndstooth print) they look very vintage together, which I really like. They did have another shirt for Β£7.00, which was white and navy vertical stripes with pink/red roses on. I was half tempted to pick it up, but decided not to as it wasn’t really my sort of thing.

  • New Look Black Mini Skater Skirt – Β£12.99 (link)

I was looking everywhere for a black skater skirt for work as I used to own one from Topshop many moons ago, but due to washing it so much it’s kind of shrunk and it definitely isn’t something I wanted to wear around the office due to that. The member of staff in the New Look store I visited was so lovely. Even though they only had 2 skirts on the shop floor (neither in my size!) she still had a look on the system for me to see if they had anymore in the back in my size, they had 1 left! I was chuffed and tried it on with some of the pieces I picked up from Primark. I wore this skirt on my first day with my red Primark jumper and I felt so comfortable and confident! My only issue with it is it feels a tad short for my linking, but I think I was wearing it too high at the same time. I intend to wear this skirt loads at my new job and when I get paid and have some spare cash I want to pick up another one. I can’t wait to wear my skirts with this, as well as my mustard yellow and cream jumper!

  • New Look Black Check Tapered Trousers – Β£19.99 (link)

I knew that I wanted some trousers like this for the job as soon as I found out I got it. I’ve always wanted a pair like this but have never been a job where I could wear them until now. I decided to try these ones on as they have an elasticated waist band, a bloated girl on her period DREAM PAIR OF TROUSERS! These are high-waisted, which I didn’t know until I got home and had a look on the New Look website to show someone. I’ll definitely wear these both normal and high-waisted with shirts, t-shirts and jumpers. I doubt I’d wear socks with them and would just wear my flats. I am anxious to wear these as I worry they’ll look daft, but whatever, you only live once and THEY’RE ELASTICATED!

  • Peacocks Womens Bistretch Bootcut Trousers – Β£9.00 (currently Β£7.20 online only) (link)

Since back in the day when I worked at Costa I have always sworn by Peacocks smart trousers for work. They’re comfortable, come in all sorts of sizes and styles and are affordable! I paid the normal Β£9.00 price for these as I picked them up in store and I ended up getting my usual long leg, as well as a regular leg. I tried on my size and although they felt fine, I actually went for a size up so that they were a little baggy. I’ve had to deal with nearly 2 years of uncomfortable (but tolerable) smart trousers and I don’t want to anymore if I can help it! I’ll wear these with all sorts to be honest!

  • EMP Yuri!!! On Ice Logo Cardigan – Β£41.99 (Currently reduced to Β£24.99) (link)

This is a cardigan that I’ve been eyeing up for ages and I don’t know why but I nearly paid the full price for it! I think I had a 10% voucher available to use alongside it, BUT I’m so glad I waited. This recently went into the sale and as well as that EMP brought out an extra 15% code so I saved an extra Β£3.00 something! I loved Yuri!!! On Ice when it came out and me and my best friend both love it. She’s also ordered this cardigan so we can be twinsies. πŸ˜› I’ll probably feel odd and out of place wearing this in the office, but I don’t care! I’d team it up with trousers or skirt and a white top (long or short sleeved). To be honest, I’d soon snuggle up in this at home too.

  • H! By Henry Holland Fox Dress – (previously spoken about here).

I LOVE this dress and it’s actually the dress I wore for my interview for the job. I decided to go for this as I love foxes and felt it would leave a lasting impression with the company, which it obviously did! This is the dress that Vikki over at Cuteek wanted to see! It’s a gorgeous black skater dress with foxes all over. It’s one I always reach for for special nights out, birthdays and now for office wear! I want another dress like this but I can’t seem to find one anywhere. 😦

  • Daisy Dress (So old that I can’t remember where it’s from 100%).

I’ve owned this dress for years and I mean years! It’s been so long that the shop I originally bought it from a clothing store that went into administration… I think it was called Republic… Either way this dress has always been one I’ve gone back to time and time again and I’m pretty sure it’ll be worn to death at my new job as well!

So that’s my haul of what goodies I’ve picked up for my new job! I hope to pick up some more stuff in the future as there’s loads more bits and pieces I wish to pick up.

I’ll be doing a wish list post next week of more stuff I would like to get in future, both clothing and office stationary items I’d love to have on my future desk.

If you work in an office where do you shop for your clothes? Make sure to let me know in the comments as I would love more places to find new pieces at!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a great week so far.
