Wish List Wednesday – Manga

If there is a wish list Wednesday I have been meaning to do for the longest time, it’s definitely one to do with manga! I’m finally getting around to doing this post. I’ve been reading loads of manga lately and the more I read, the more I’ve been finding myself buying or adding to my wish list!

So of course, it was finally time to start writing about manga I want to pick up, mentioning them on my monthly wish list just isn’t enough. 😛 All the manga mentioned will be from Wordery, as personally they’re the best when it comes to buying my books!

I’ve been reading the Nichijou manga on an off over the past couple of years now and I really do love it! I’ve watched the anime on and off too, but I definitely need to watch it properly at some point. I don’t own a lot of the manga as it’s always a manga I’m bought over Christmas and birthdays. Eventually I will pick up the 6 volumes that are left to read! Nichijou is about a bunch of school girls, one of them being a robot designed by a child. It’s not like Azumanga Daioh or K-ON! where they’re realistic, this manga is completely crazy and absolutely hilarious due to it.

  • She And Her Cat – (link)

This is a manga I want to get after watching a trailer of the anime series of the same name. I NEED to watch that anime by the way! This manga (if you haven’t sussed by the title!) is about a girl and her cat. It’s just pretty much about growing up both from the view of the woman and her cat.

  • A Polar Bear In Love Volume 3 – (link)

I am so in love with this series, I’m so glad I heard about it before it came out in the UK so I could get it for Christmas/birthday. When it came to volume 2 I worried about the series not continuing to be funny, but alas it has continued to be amazing and I cannot wait now for volume 3 when the polar bear and seal meet someone else… 😛

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life Volume 3 – (link)

Another manga series I am in love with and to be honest I think I love this more than the original series, as this is just a spin off. I would love if they turned this into a little spin off anime about Kanna as it would do so well! I now have volume 2 and love it so much. I cannot wait to keep reading this manga, it’s amazing.

  • The Complete Chi’s Sweet Home Volume 1 – (link)

This is one of the first anime series I ever watched and it took me ages to finish watching it due to years of it being on YouTube to watch and then deleted due to copyright. I finally finished watching it and it was definitely worth the wait. I’m not a cat fan (I love dogs) but Chi is such a cute little kitten and it’s amazing seeing her grow up and learn new things every episode. I especially want to read the manga to see what happens! They look to be huge volumes too so they would keep me busy for quite some time.

  • Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 7 – (link)

Like the spin off series Kanna’s Daily Life, this is a manga series I really love and have done since discovering the manga series last year. As soon as I get one of the volumes it’s finished later that day. The manga has now gone past where the anime series is, which I like. I like knowing what’s happening before the next anime series comes out! I really do hope we see another series of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid! It did so well before so it would be stupid for it not to do well again.

  • Orange: The Complete Collection: Volume 1 – (link)

This is a manga series I love the sound of, it reminds me a little of Your Name and A Silent Voice. The story is about a girl who keeps receiving letters from her future self and at first she doesn’t believe it, but when things start coming true the girl begins to realise this is genuine and very much real! There is an anime of this too, but I haven’t watched it yet. I really want to but I’d like to read the manga first. These are quite thick volumes for the books as well, so again like the Chi manga this would keep me busy for ages!

So those are all my manga books on my wish list at the moment!

Some other manga I have on my wish list is Persona 3 and Persona 4 manga but I’m not in a rush to read these in all honesty…. Persona 5 however! As soon as this comes out in the UK, I’ll be ALL OVER IT!

Do you love manga? Hey, or even comic books? Make sure to let me know which books you have on your wish lists, they can be all sorts!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re having an awesome week! 😀

Fall for this Autumnal Home Décor

So, before I begin, I should probably introduce myself. I’m Hayley, a professional freelance Copywriter and Content Writer who absolutely loves blogging (and home décor, as you’ll soon find out)! Therefore, when I came across Nat’s tweet explaining that she needs guest bloggers to fill in for her whilst she’s on holiday, I jumped at the opportunity. I enjoyed reading her clothing wish lists, so decided to do something similar for homeware, because who doesn’t love a fancy cushion or two? Just me? Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now and get into the post:

*

Whilst I’m going to miss the warmer weather and bright evenings, we’re now officially on the second day of Autumn, so it’s time to embrace the new season with open arms. The beautiful orange leaves, the cosy clothes, and copious amounts of hot chocolate definitely make it easier to say goodbye to Summer (plus, it’s almost Hallowe’en).

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit of a home decoration enthusiast – any opportunity to give my home a fresh, new look is welcomed in my books. I always think that changing seasons are perfect times to add little pieces that reflect the weather, either through using different colours, patterns, or even textures. The best part about this is you certainly don’t have to break the bank to do it!

Before I began writing this post, I got thinking about what I associate with the season because it’s always useful to have a ‘theme’ which will ensure that all the pieces look good together. I’ve compiled a little list below which helped me to find the items I included, so, should you want to look for more yourself, you’ll have something to refer to:

– Rustic wood
– ‘Earthy’ tones (think burnt orange, brown, mustard yellow)
– Leaf patterns
– Rough textures

So, let’s take a look at some pieces you’ll fall for this Autumn (get it… fall? Okay, sorry).

Yankee Candle in ‘Brilliant Autumn’

How much more perfect could the name of this candle be? It’s a must for any Autumn lover who wants to bring a little bit of the woodlands indoors. To me, there’s nothing cosier than having some beautiful smelling candles burning on the coffee table whilst you relax on the weekend! Plus, it’s a gorgeous orange colour that will complement the other items in this list (any other home décor enthusiasts will agree that this is very important).

Item: Large Yankee Candle (Brilliant Autumn)
Shop: Fragrance Direct
Price: £14.50

Cosy blanket

When updating your home décor, you can’t go wrong with a big, fluffy blanket. The neutral ‘mink’ tone of this one from Wilko means that you can mix ‘n’ match it with a range of different colour schemes throughout the year (because, let’s be real, the UK is chilly around 80% of the time). I personally love the soft ‘waffle’ texture on this as it prevents the blanket from being too plain, but it won’t clash with other patterns!

Item: Waffle Throw (Mink)
Shop: Wilko
Price: £16

Burnt orange cushions (bonus points if they incorporate a tartan pattern)

Dunelm are currently selling these statement tartan cushions in a perfect earthy, burnt orange shade (though they do offer lots of other colours if you’d prefer to mix it up). The tweed texture also gives it a lovely rustic feel that provides your home with instant cosy-factor fit for a pub in the countryside. Cushions are a great way to instantly change the colour scheme in your living room as they’re much larger than some of the other items on this list, but still relatively inexpensive!

Item: Tweed Woven Cushion (Terracotta/Orange)
Shop: Dunelm
Price: £14

Wicker hearts (or any shape you want)

Sometimes, just having random little knick-knacks in your house can make it feel more like a home. You can grab this set of three wicker hearts for under £10 on Amazon* (bargain!), and have them delivered next day if you’re a Prime member. The adorable gingham ribbon and rustic wood texture also give it a little extra bit of detail that screams ‘Autumn’.

Price: £9*

Cute Mugs

Whilst these are more functional items than decorative ones, they still make the list, because what else are you going to drink hot chocolate from whilst you sit in your newly-decorated living room? I’m a sucker for anything with a cute animal design plastered on it, so I just had to include these Fairmont & Main bone china mugs from Amazon. I love how autumnal the design is, from the range of beautiful colours, right down the leaf print. Ahh, let’s get the kettle on!

It’s made me so excited for when I come back from Fuerteventura to have a mooch around the shops for some lovely autumn editions to add into our home this year!

I got an iPhone!

Picture taken from weheartit.com

Finally! I have an iPhone and thus have completed one of the goals I set for myself last month (you can take a look at them here).

I ordered it on Thursday afternoon and it arrived all beautiful, shiny and new this afternoon whilst I was at work. I fully charged it before leaving the house, just so it would be ready for me to play on when I got home from work and since I got home I’ve done nothing but play with it, which isn’t good as I have work early tomorrow!

I went for the iPhone 5 with 16GB and in the colour white. When I decided that I wanted to get an iPhone I debated for ages which colour to get, as most people I know have black, whereas I really wanted white. I have an iPad in black and my Mom had suggested I get my phone in the same colour, but I rebelled. I prefer the white iPhone to the black, I think it looks cleaner and less businesslike and more personal, but each to their own. All my friends and my boyfriend have black… But they are all men…

As I mentioned, most of my friends, my boyfriend, people I work with and everyone and their dog does and will eventually own an iPhone and it’s understandable why. Back when the iPhone first came out I really wanted one, but never bothered in the end after being told how bad the iPhone 2 and 3 were. In my head I still had the idea of having an iPhone and 2 years ago I was going to get the iPhone 4s, however I was told by someone they were also crap phones and android was the way to go. I’d previously had a HTC phone and decided to get myself another, I actually regret this decision as the HTC I got brought me nothing but hassle the two years that I owned it.

Here’s a list of all the reasons it brought me hassle (not in the order it happened);

  1. It damaged one of my SIM cards which left the phone unusable until my new one was sent in the post… A week later!
  2. If the headphones were used in the phone (the headphones came with the phone BTW) it would stop my phone from using WiFi and instead use 3G and therefore all of my GB! I had to call and tell Orange about it and thankfully they refunded me the extra money I’d paid for using more GB than I was contracted to at the time.
  3. The phone would turn itself off even with a fully charged battery and would only come back on and stay that way if it was left on charge. When I called HTC to complain about this matter they told me it was a virus on my phone and to do a factory reset. I did and it didn’t work and when I called them back they offered for me to send it to them to be repaired. I couldn’t be arsed with the effort.
  4. It kept overheating throughout the summer but the problem still occurred during cold weather and chilly days.
  5. The phone froze my messages so I couldn’t receive any texts or send them, I had to do a factory reset to fix this problem.
  6. Finally my phone had to be sent off to be fixed after my WiFi wouldn’t work. I rang HTC about the problem nearly half a dozen times and they kept telling me to do a factory reset on the phone, which in turn didn’t work. Due to not being about to access my WiFi at home, I was charged extra by Orange just because I had to use my 3G to check my emails whilst I was at work. They refunded me once again, which was good of them.
  7. This is a jokey one, but when my phone was having one of its temper tantrums and continuously turned itself off and on again it set itself to the year 1971 and that it was 9am when at the time it was 7pmish. Me and my friend laughed about it at the time, it was pretty funny!

Due to all these issues I will NEVER have another phone from HTC again! The first phone I had with them (the one I was just moaning about was my second) had issues too and I  was glad to see the back of it when I got the second HTC. I still own it, even though the touch screen doesn’t work properly now and it runs as slow as anything.

ANYWAY!

I shall not moan anymore as I have my iPhone now and I’m pretty damn sure it will be reliable and not bring me any heartbreak!

So leading on from this post I thought I would share my five favourite Apps with you that I think are worth looking at to download and give a whirl!

Image taken from weheartit.com

These are in no order.

I love this game and play it whenever I can, which is pretty much everyday when I’m at home. You play as an amateur actor/actress who has just started out. You custom create your character on yourself or even someone completely random, the choice is yours! With the game you have to keep acting in films, TV dramas, commercials (or adverts in the UK), etc to make your way up to being an A-List celebrity! As well as acting, you also get the chance to make friends and even get yourself a boyfriend/girlfriend. This game is probably better suited to women, but there’s no reason why men can’t play this game and enjoy it too. It’s completely free to download, so give it a go if you have an iPhone, or even an iPad.

If you own a smart phone you’ll probably have Instagram already. Most people I know love using Instagram, but I seriously love it! As photography is one of my main hobbies, I love taking pictures of everything and anything and Instagram is perfect for this, even better now you can video films with it too. Also, someone once said that a picture is worth a 1,000 words and we should use pictures instead of words because of this. On Twitter you only get 140 characters to type with and seeing as you can connect Instagram with Facebook, Twitter AND Tumblr, you can share your pictures with all your friends and you get to share something that’s worth 1,000 words without going over your characters. Instagram is free and easy to sign up to, so give it a go if you haven’t already!

I first heard about this App on Tumblr and I can’t wait to start using it on my iPhone! My doctor recently diagnosed me with anxiety and it can be hard to try and calm yourself down when something isn’t going smoothly, no one is texting you back and you don’t even have a spare thought to give due to being busy, panicky, etc. My boyfriend can be great for when I feel anxious and will text me, but during the week when he’s at work he won’t be able to text me all the time and so this App looks perfect for that. The App was made to help anxiety suffers (like myself) deal with their anxious feelings quickly and in the safest way possible. It had loads of self-help methods on it and after quickly checking the App out on my boyfriends iPhone (which he kindly downloaded for me to look at) I don’t know how I have lived without something like this on my old HTC for so long! A definitely must if you suffer with anxiety and I know for a fact I’ll be doing a post on this in the near future.

  • Facetime.

This is an inbuilt App, but it’s definitely worth mentioning here. it’s a video calling App that is pretty much like Skype and is the perfect substitute as you can’t use the video function on an iPhone… According to my boyfriend anyway! This is a great App if you travel a lot for work/business to keep in contact with family and friends, as well as have mini meetings with people from work. As well as that this is great for if you’re in a long distance friendship or relationship or even if you just miss a friend and fancy seeing them face to face as opposed to just seeing what they’re typing. Me and my boyfriend Skype a lot, whenever we can and I know we’ll be using Facetime together quite a bit. I’m excited to try it myself, it looks like a lot of fun to use!

As you know (and can see) I’m a beauty and fashion blogger and if you’ve noticed on the side of my blog, or if you follow me on it, I also have a Bloglovin’ account. Every beauty and/or fashion blogger has a Bloglovin’ account because of two reasons, a place for you to have your blog posts on and where you can gain and keep followers, as well as follow other bloggers and keep up to date on their latest blog posts too. I of course use mine for both reasons, like pretty much every user of Bloglovin’ does. The iPad version of Bloglovin’ hasn’t worked for quite a lot of users for quite a few months now, which is a shame but as long as it works on my iPhone, I’ll be happy. I check Bloglovin’ everyday and use it to keep up to date with my favourite beauty bloggers. If you want to follow me on mine, the link is on the right hand side.

Since ordering my iPhone I have started to feel quite a bit better. My HTC broke last Saturday night after a gig and I was pretty gutted about it. The screen went black and whenever I tried to turn the phone back on, it was having none of it. It’s a real shame that the phone died completely but it has to be said, it was a bag of shit.

The new iPhone 5s and 5c come out today, will any of you iPhone users (if there are any of you out there…) be upgrading to either of those today? if so let me know in the comments down below!

Also if you’re an iPhone user, what are your five favourite Apps? Let me know in the comments down below and I’ll go check them out.

There will more than likely be another iPhone related post in the next week or so, so keep your eyes peeled for it if you like these sorts of posts.

I hope you enjoyed this post and apologies for being quiet lately.

Take care all and see you soon!
