February Favourites ’20

I know I mentioned on my life lately post that I would only be uploading/posting on Saturday’s moving forward, but my monthly favourites have always gone up on the 1st of each month. This isn’t a tradition I’m letting go of anytime soon! PLUS I didn’t see the point in having a post up on the 29th February and then one on the 1st March. It just seemed really pointless at the time…

I know February is a short month anyway, but damn did it fly by! Although to be fair, waiting for payday to come around felt like forever… πŸ˜›

February was a bit like a roller coaster with lots of ups and downs, but overall it was okay… I ended up having flu towards the end of the month, which sucked. I’ve come out the other side into March though, so it’s all good!

I’m so damn excited for this month. There are three games coming out that I’m excited for AND of all my favourite game franchises too! Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Persona 5 Royal. So yeah I think March will be a busy one for me. πŸ˜›

After coming back from Japan I’ve felt a little down with some post holiday blues, but I’ve tried to get back into the norm again and I’m okay… πŸ˜› Until I go on another holiday! πŸ˜› Speaking of Japan, I know since I’ve come back I’ve only done one post but I’m trying to pace them out nicely. I don’t want to flood you guys with Japanese content and as I would like to write more about Japan on my blog in the future, this isn’t exactly a bad thing!

Anyhoo, enough of me waffling away… On with my favourites from the month!

  • Original Source Tropical Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel.

Okay I’ll be honest with you guys… I originally had a different product here for my favourite this month but that has been removed, scraped and GONE! Why? Because I learnt how shit the product actually was! The shower gel in question was Treacle Moon Gentle Powder Love Bath & Shower Gel. This shower gel smelt great, wasn’t cheap and ended up leaving my skin sore, dry and flakey… Which sucked! I had lovely soft skin during my trip to Japan, so the fact I came back and my skin had dried out, I put it down to a mixture of the products in Japan being better and the cold weather in the UK. Alas, this wasn’t the case. It turned out that the Treacle Moon shower gel is just… SHIT. I picked up this Original Source shower gel as to be honest, their products are always good. Not even a week into using the product and my skin has already improved, which I am so happy and relieved about. I get bouts of eczema and I started to panic this was one of them. This shower gel is amazing, not just for it’s ability to bring my skin back to life… It smells of creamy coconuts, which in turn always remind me of Fuerteventura and sunshine, but it’s cheap! This bottle cost us a Β£1, whilst the Treacle Moon cost me Β£3! I think I’m going to write a complaint as I’m annoyed at what it did to my skin. Sorry for the ramble by the way… πŸ˜›

  • Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask.

I picked this face mask up on the plane home from Japan. I’ve wanted to try this face mask for a while now, but just never got round to picking one up. I didn’t realise how expensive it was until I checked out how much it retails for… Β£40 and up! Shocking price to be honest with you… So when I saw this for sale on the plane for Β£35, I thought I would treat myself. I’ve used it a couple of times now and I really love this! I find if I’ve broken out and I used this face mask, it really does help my spots to calm down and go away! I use this once a week/fortnight due to using other products, or my skin not needing a face mask. However, due to the price, I don’t know if I will repurchase… 😦

  • Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint in shade PK003 Sweet Potato Red.

After picking up the Etude House Dear Darling tint in Japan, I knew I had to get another one. I’ve had the sweet potato red shade on my wish list for quite some time now, so I found one on eBay and ordered! I am so glad I picked up this shade for so many reasons. The shade itself is gorgeous and reminds me of a colour I could call “my lip colour but better” if that makes sense? Also this is the newer packaging and product formula for this tint and this is SO MUCH BETTER! You don’t get loads of product on the applicator, it’s not as watery and it’s just great. I’ll definitely be reviewing these tints very soon!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Reviving Pumice Foot Scrub.

I picked a new one of these foot scrubs up from The Body Shop as I was in DIRE need of one! I’m going to put it down to that bloody Treacle Moon shower gel again, as my feet were so soft and smooth during my trip to Japan… My feet needed some major TLC this month so this foot scrub has been really good to use on my feet a couple of times a week, just to give them a good scrub over! I like to use this in the shower as the last thing I do before I get out and then before I put my socks on I’ll slather my feet in my favourite lotion. My go to at the moment is the Childs Farm Baby Moisturiser with Shea & Cocoa Butter – which you can read about on one of my previous favourites posts here.

  • Maui Moisture Smooth and Revive Vanilla Bean Shampoo.

I picked this shampoo up just before I went to Japan and I have no regrets! I was after a shampoo that would lather easily, smell amazing, give my hair all the benefits we seek from a shampoo AND not contain any sulphates. This shampoo ticks all of the boxes and I couldn’t wait to talk about it on my blog this month. This shampoo goes a long way and you only need a little because of how thick it is, which is perfect for me. I hate shampoos where you needs loads in order to get a decent lather behind it. This smells so creamy and to be honest with you, I wish Maui would create a shower gel that smells just like this! I would be in heaven. πŸ˜› This shampoo is for smoothing and reviving your hair… I don’t know if IΒ needΒ these benefits for my hair, but even so I really love this shampoo. It isn’t cheap at Β£5.99 BUT when you can buy Head & Shoulders for a Β£1 less… FYI Head & shoulder is one of the WORST shampoos out there that you can buy!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – O Maidens in Your Savage Season.

This is an anime me and Dane binge watched not long after we got back from Japan. Dane is great at finding new anime series to watch together and this is one I fell in love with. It’s about a group of girls in a literature club who are going through puberty. You see the view from both the girls and the guys and how they’re all impacting each others sexual feelings… And awakenings if you will. It just reminded me of being a teenager and it’s a typical coming of age anime, which I LOVE.

Favourite Movie – 1917.

I loved this film so much. I was intrigued by it, but not fussed about watching it in the cinema… However, after someone I work with went to watch it and told me how amazing it was, I soon changed my mind. That and everything I had heard about it, I knew I had to see it for myself. Me and Dane booked it in the week after work and we’re so glad we did. We fell in love with this film for so many reasons. The way it is filmed, the editing, the acting, the story, just everything about it. I ended up crying at the end too… If you haven’t been to watch it yet, I recommend you do so as soon as possible before showings stop.

Favourite Book – Guys…

Guys I’m sorry. February was a bizarre month of being hella busy after Japan (both social and work related), as well as me being poorly with flu/chest infection… It sucked and reading was the last thing I wanted to do. It sucks because I said to myself that once I returned from Japan I would catch up on my manga so far as well as read new manga series. This hasn’t happened and I’m annoyed. 😦

Favourite Album – Billie Eilish – When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

I decided this year that I wanted to listen to more music. I find I listen to the same stuff all the time and there are a lot of artists out there I would like to discover more of. Billie Eilish is an artist that blew up and I admit, I do like a couple of her singles (“Bad Guy” and “Lovely”) so, why not listen to her album? I didn’t fall head over heels in love with it, but I did enjoy listening to it whilst driving to and from work, as well as whilst I was at work. I especially love the song “Bury a Friend” which I haven’t been able to stop listening to since I first heard it! I definitely recommend giving this album a listen. It reminds me of a new genre of “depressing pop” and I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing…

Favourite Game – Neopets and Pokemon Shield.

Okay… Hear me out. Since before Christmas I have wanted to play on my old Neopets account. Sometimes I just want to play something simple, but I couldn’t get into my account due to email and password issues. I reached out to Neopets for months for help, but I didn’t receive any. After some digging around I finally managed to get into my account and since then I’ve been playing it for a few hours everyday! I forgot how shit, but addictive the games are, how you can grab a free slice of omelette and jelly daily and basically how the website hasn’t changed since I last went on in about 2016/2017… This being said it has really cheered me up to play after work when I’ve been feeling blue. It especially kept me entertained when I was poorly with my flu too, which isn’t a bad thing. Next month I will be super busy with games, so Neopets won’t have as much attention… πŸ˜›

Towards the end of the month I was really poorly (still am NGL!) and had to have some days sick at home. Due to the boredom of not being able to do much (apart from binge watch episodes and clips from Would I Lie to You? I decided to pick up Pokemon Shield again and try to finish the game, as well as complete my Pokedex. Well, this has now become an addition for myself AND Dane, who said he wouldn’t pick Pokemon back up until June when Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra are released. We are both working together now to complete our Pokedex’s and we’ve really been enjoying it!

There you have it guys, those are my favourites from February! Again, I honestly cannot believe how quick this month went by. I am so fucking hyped up for March for so many reasons! All the games, being able to go to Birmingham Comic Con, a blog related event I’ll be attending and more! πŸ˜€

What were your favourites from February? Do you have any exciting things coming up in March? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend so far. πŸ™‚

June Favourites ’19

How are we at the seventh month of the year?! In 6 months time not only will I be 30 but I’ll be getting ready for one of the biggest events of my life – my holiday to Japan.

June has been such a morbid month, what with the weather being so crappy. I was also skint after loads going on at the start of the month what with Games Expo (which you can read about here, as well as see what I picked up!) and Manchester for mine and Dane’s 6th anniversary. However the weather has had a much needed turn around and we’re now graced with gorgeous sunshine… But also sweat in places you didn’t know you could sweat in! πŸ˜›

Aside from this, June went by quickly and I actually had a bad mental health patch – which I’m through thankfully. I forgot how bad my mental health could be though to be perfectly honest with you. I’m glad it’s definitely not as bad as it used to be, that’s for sure.

I’m glad it’s July to be honest with you, as I am craving some nicer weather. I want to do my garden up this year ready for all the BBQ’s and evenings in the garden writing with Dane and playing games. I plan to try and get so much stuff done throughout July and August!

Anyhoo, let’s go into the items I was loving throughout June.

  • Original Source Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

This is a shower gel I rediscovered recently when me and Dane went to Manchester for a few days. We bought a little travel sized version of this to use whilst we were away and it was just so refreshing! Not going to lie though, I forgot what this does to your bits… If you know what I mean? πŸ˜› We’ve just bought a MASSIVE 500ml bottle, which was pretty cheap for Β£2. This shower gel has kind of reemerged back into our lives at the right time considering the hot weather. Yesterday I woke up feeling sticky and unclean. After my shower I felt fresh again and it’s purely because of this shower gel. If you’ve never tried it, I really do recommend it! Due to the menthol in the mint it leaves you feeling tingly and cooled down, perfect for the hot humid weather we have right now.

  • Nails Inc Ocean Ever After Nail Polish.

I really do love painting my nails, but I find I don’t do it as often as I once used to, or should for that matter. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t give much of a toss the older I get, or just because I’m too busy doing other things… Although a mixture of both, it’s definitely more of the latter. I painted my nails quite a few times last month and I found more often than not that I was reaching out for this shade in particular. With summer (well now at least…) in full swing I thought I would reach for a colour that reminds me of holidays abroad and swimming in the pool and ocean. I honestly love this shade and feel like I haven’t given it the love it deserves! I really do like the Nails Inc duo kits and the mermaid one is perfect for summer, whether you’re going on holiday or not.

  • GeekyClean Bard Soap.

As I mentioned recently in my UK Games Expo haul (which you can read here) I stumbled across the brand Geeky Clean, which I have fast fallen in love with! If there is one product on this list this month that I have reached out for the most, it’s definitely this one. It smells JUST LIKE LUSH SNOW FAIRY for a fucking fraction of the price. Like seriously – how the fuck do Lush get away with it! This foams up lovely and doesn’t leave that horrible feeling on your skin after using soap against it. It comes in the tin, so it’s really easy to keep in the bath or shower. I plan to write a review about both the soap and the bath bomb with the Bard scent. Honestly I cannot get enough of this right now, especially considering what an amazing dupe it is of Snow Fairy (and the Godmother soap if you’re a Lushie).

  • Revolution Onyx Primer.

Okay I was in dubious about this primer. I wasn’t able to test it when I bought it and as I was out with my mom at the time she said, “Sod it! Just get it and if it’s no good I’ll have it.” Bless her. πŸ˜› So obviously I picked it up and OBVIOUSLY I liked it, because it wouldn’t be on my favourites if I didn’t This is obviously black and just to say if you don’t rub it in properly, your skin WILL go grey. This is also a thick primer too so a little goes a long way. The reason I was dubious though is it claims to mattify the skin. When you first put this on, it’s oily AF! Like seriously, I was pissed off when I tried this on the back of my hand in my mom’s living room. I tried it the next morning when I got home and after I put my power over the top – that oily look and feeling vanished and I was left with perfect airbrushed skin. I was shocked! However, I wondered if due to the original oily feeling it would cause my skin to break out… I waited and have been trying this for most of June now and I can report not a single issue! If you’d like a review of this product, please let me know by the way as I would be more than happy to! Especially if you have combination skin like I do. πŸ™‚

  • Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy EDP.

This is one of my favourite perfumes and I honestly always forget just how much I love it, as well as how many memories it brings back. This is such a cheap perfume but for what it’s worth it really does make me happy. If you’ve never smelt it, (I’m pretty sure you will have – even if you didn’t realise it…) it smells just like blueberries and sugar. It’s gorgeous and although sickly for many, it’s perfect for me. I’ve been reaching for it lately as I just love the smell! Since starting my new job in April I’ve been binge using Dior’s Poison Girl and whilst I like it – it’s really grown off of me. I might just give it to my mom as I really don’t enjoy wearing it anymore… This being said it is a gorgeous perfume but my tastes have dramatically changed the past two years and I’ve really moved away from certain scents and grown to love others.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental Season 3.

I cannot tell you enough how much I love this show but also how much I hate the fact the other four seasons are going to take FOREVER to come out over seas and be translated for us English speakers. I’ve mentioned this show on my blog many times in the past and I swear to God, I never laughed so much at the third season of this hilarious show. Basically it’s about ten Japanese comedians who are all locked in a room for six hours with the goal of winning 10 million yen (just over Β£73,000) by being the last person in the room who hasn’t laughed. They do some pretty normal things to make each other laugh, but then on the other hand they can be really extreme with it, which is the best part! Season 3 had some of the funniest things I have seen to date and after (what I thought) was a disappointing last season, this made up for it so much! It’s on Amazon Prime so if you have a subscription, I highly recommend you go and check it out!

Favourite Movie –Β Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

If there is a film I think I actually regret not going to watch in the cinema, it might just be this one. Me and Dane were recommended by out D&D Dungeon Master to check out this film as it was amazing, mind blowing and more. It was certainly enjoyable to watch and had so many awesome points in it, including the one in the gif to be fair. It was really colourful too and the animation felt unique and worked well for the style. It was very stylised to look like the comic books the story of Spider-Man have of course come from. Not going to lie – I’m shite when it comes to reviewing things like this. It’s out now on DVD and Blu-ray to go and buy it. It’s so worth the monies. πŸ˜›

Favourite Book – Erm…

Fuck sake man. My reading manga game is shite lately and it actually makes me so sad. I have so many volumes from at least 5 series to catch up on and I’m so pissed that I am neglecting that. It’s honestly due to the fact I like to playΒ Animal Crossing: Pocket CampΒ during my lunch break at work (which I’m not doing today because I’m writing this instead :P) so reading has taken a back shelf. I seriously plan to spend this weekend reading and catching up. Sorry though guys – no manga mentions this month. 😦

Favourite Music – PVRIS – White Noise.

This is a band I mentioned falling in love with last month, but in all honestly this is a band I have fallen hard for and especially their first albumΒ White Noise which I downloaded from iTunes onto my phone in June – as well as their second album. The song “Fire” that I mentioned last month is what led me to discover PVRIS – as well as this album, but my favourite song from the album has fast become “Smoke” which I listen to over and over again on repeat. As and when this band tours the UK again, I WILL be going to see them! I know they’re playing Reading and Leeds this year but nah I won’t be going to a festival. πŸ˜›

Favourite Game – Trover Saves the Universe.

I feel shit for not mentioningΒ Persona Q2 this month but honestly this would beat evenΒ Persona 5 hands down if I’d been playing that last month. This game is fucking hilarious and EVERYONE needs to play it! This game is by Justin Roiland, the guy behind Rick & Morty and the VR game Accounting. This is a VR game with the aim being to get your two pet dogs back, who have been stolen by a cross between a penguin and Patrick from Spongebob Square Pants. It’s fucking hilarious to play and the best thing I like with it is you can sit down as you play! Usually with VR games you’re standing up and it can get a bit tiring if you plan to play for hours on end… Even though we do it anyway! The comedy behind it is hilarious (as always from Roiland!) and fun to play. I cannot wait to continue playing it over the weekend.

So that’s everything this month in regards to my favourite items for June! Again, June whizzed by to be honest with you and when it came to thinking what content I needed up on my blog this week – I was shocked that it was time to be writing my two monthly posts. Crazy, huh?

What were you loving throughout June? Whether it be beauty, lifestyle or even stuff in general! I’d love to know. πŸ™‚

Until next time all, take care and I hope you’re all not as tried as I am after the warm weekend. πŸ˜›

February Favourites ’19

First of all I do apologise that my monthly favourites for February is a couple of days later than it usually is! I’ve been really busy at the moment so I haven’t been able to get this post written until today. Better late than never though eh?!

I can’t believe we’re 3 days into March already! The year is already flying by so quickly and I just want time to slow down a little. πŸ˜› I think that’s how I ran out of time for writing this post, considering there’s only 28 days in February. πŸ˜›

Anyhoo, let’s get on with the post!

  • Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion.

My eczema has been so bad recently, so much so that I resembled a peeling snake at one point. I’ve heard nothing but good about Aveeno and decided to pick a bottle of it up to see for myself what good it can do. I’ve had some mixed thoughts about it, as I expected it to be thicker in consistency but to be fair it really has give my hands some much needed moisture after washing my hands. I’ve yet to try it on my body but for such a moisturising lotion it’s not thick at all!

  • Original Source Sweet Apple & Vanilla Shower Milk.

This isn’t the first time I’ve used this shower milk and it certainly won’t be the last. With the gorgeous weather we had towards the end of February I wanted something in the shower that smelt fresh but also left me feeling clean and soft. The Original Source shower milks are perfect for this and don’t cost a fortune. I love the apple and vanilla scent as it’s so fresh and yet creamy smelling too.

  • Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bar in Red Velvet (review here).

This is by far my go to lipstick at the moment and I adore it so much! I reviewed it in February and it did really well. This is such a comfortable lipstick to wear throughout the day at work and it looks gorgeous. It’s perfect for all seasons too, from spring to winter it’ll wear fabulously. Go check out my review if you want to know more about it. πŸ™‚

  • L’Oreal Paris Hydra Genius Liquid Care in Normal to Combination Skin (review here).

I’ve mentioned this product on my blog on and off and I think it’s obvious it’s now my go to moisturiser. I’ve been using this for nearly 2 years and I haven’t replaced it with anything else since. Well… Apart from the normal to dry skin version which was AWFUL! This is why this has come to be on my favourites this month. I opened a new bottle of the skin type that I prefer and it’s really improved my skin. It’s not dry in patches, I’m not breaking out as much and to be honest I just feel like it’s doing its job. If you want to know more about this product make sure to check out the review.

  • Baylis & Harding Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Cream Hand Wash.

This is a cream hand wash I’ve had my eye on for a while as you can buy a three pack for a cheap price from Amazon. I do really love Baylis & Harding hand washes as they’re always good for my skin, so when I read how this oatmeal, milk and honey one was good for eczema prone skin, I knew I had to order some! It’s really creamy when you’re washing your hands and smells amazing! I really do love these sorts of scents, so to have this on my bathroom sink is lovely.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Adult Swim Drugs GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite TV Show – Mr. Pickles.

Recently Adult Swim merged with All 4 to bring their shows to us through the app! One of the shows on there is Mr. Pickles and is one I’ve wanted to watch for ages after Dane told me about it ages ago. It’s about a demonic border collie who goes around the town killing (what I think anyway!) bad people to fulfil his demonic needs. He has a sort of dark dungeon in his kennel where he keeps a gimp named Steve, as well as a more. The only person who knows about what Mr Pickles is up to is the families grandfather, who constantly updates the family on what Mr Pickles has done in the town. It’s hilarious but very dark. To be honest I hate gore, but this doesn’t bother me in the show due to the fact it isn’t real. Give it a go and see what you think, I personally think it’s hilarious!

Favourite Film – Erm…

I didn’t actually watch a film on February! I’ve mostly been watchingΒ Shameless andΒ Mr. PicklesΒ in all honesty and if I’ve not been watching TV shows I’ve been playing games. It sucks but meh, no films this month to mention I’m afraid.

Favourite Book – Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

I’ve not been great with keeping up with reading manga lately, purely because I’ve either been too busy or too tired. I’ve been trying to catch up this month however with my priorities being onΒ Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.Β Volume 7 focused on so many things that I loved reading about! Including Kanna travelling to New York and making a new friend. I do really love reading this series, as well as the spin off series about Kanna and the new one about Elma which I need to read soon.

Favourite Albums – Coldplay Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head.

If there’s a band that (in my mind) changed for the worst it was definitely Coldplay! I still love SOME of their newer singles, but overall I LOVED their first two albums. I grew up listening to both of these albums and they always remind me of the spring and summer when I’d listen to them the most. I started listening to them recently to and from work and they’re really helped me relax in the morning during the school traffic and on the way home during a long day and rush hour. I know a lot of people can’t stand Coldplay, but I honestly feel like those first two albums were amazing.

Pokemon Lets Go GIF

Image taken from GIPHY

Favourite Game – Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee.

I feel like I haven’t playedΒ Pokemon: Let’s Go EeveeΒ for ages and that sucks in itself! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the game and still do but I just go too busy with stuff that I had to stop playing it. So I spent a couple of evenings in February cuddled up in bed and played loads of this! I’m on my way to the Elite Four now but I’m also trying to search everywhere for Pokemon I haven’t caught yet as well as legendary’s I need to catch. I’ve only caught Articuno so far but I’m sure I’ll get the other two bird Pokemon soon. πŸ™‚

Finally those are all my favourites from February! The month didn’t stick around long enough to be fair and that’s not even including the fact it was short a few days… It kind of sucks lately as I feel like I’m “running out of time” to do stuff I want to, you know?

How was February for you guys and what were your favourite items? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, I’m off for a lovely relaxing bath and then some major gaming time! I hope your Sunday is as good as mind. πŸ™‚

November Empties

DSC_0423

Another month, another monthly post and this is for my empties throughout November. I used LOADS during November which really surprised me! Sadly there were some things I was sad to see, whilst on the other hand there were some things I was glad to see the back of! I actually forgot to take a picture of one of my empties products so I’ll be talking about it first and just inserting a picture from the World Wide Web!

So I hope you enjoy this post, I’m actually rather poorly and tired as I write this, so I’m literally forcing myself to write this out whilst I listen/partially watch some TheRPGMinx videos over on YouTube (check out her channel if you like gaming videos). So here goes!

I apologise for the quality of this image…

  • Heiress EDP by Paris Hilton.

I bought this perfume back in 2009/2010 after hearing off of a beauty guru on YouTube that it was amazing. A few days later I popped into Superdrug and a brand new 100ml bottle was being sold for Β£10! At the time I wished I’d bought the three bottles that were left but of course I only bought the one and it did the job just fine. I’ve said over the years that I would re purchase this perfume but the more I’ve got to the end of the bottle, the more that idea has just gone out of the window. This perfume is very sweet and something you would wear as a teenager or possibly a student but when you’re 23 going on 24, it’s something you shouldn’t really wear anymore. This ended up being my work perfume and I did get some compliments on it, but quite frankly I’m glad to see the back of it and if I re purchase it it’ll only be a small 30ml size. I know my cousin loves this perfume and I can understand why, it’s a cute scent but it just makes me feel and smell as if I’m trying to be younger than I actually am and right now I love my sexy mature scents. πŸ˜›

DSC_0424

  • Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash.

I LOVE this body wash and I bought it back a year ago and quite frankly I can’t believe how long it’s lasted me! This stuff smells amazing, just like key lime pie and as limes are one of my favourite fruits this has been a favourite of mine to use in the mornings, as well as during the summertime when the weather was really warm. The wash had a pump on the top which made it easy to pump into my sponge, as well as my hands if I wished to use it that way. When my boyfriend first staying over at mine he would use this every time and up until its last pump of body was he used nothing but this! Possible Christmas present? πŸ˜‰ I’m definitely going to re purchase this! I know Boots have a set of this for Christmas and I’m hoping to pick it up half price in the Christmas sales, if not it’d be great to receive as a present. I really want to try the body butter and the body scrub of this too, it all just smells amazing!

  • Radox Muscle Therapy Bath Soak.

I actually bought this for my Dad to use in the bath as he complains with muscle pain a lot of the time but in the end I just used it myself and I already know I’ll be buying this again in the future! It smells just like the blue muscle soak bath soak by Radox but this smells a bit more fresh, if that makes sense. It contains black pepper and ginseng so it awakens you a little bit more I find. It’s also an amazing red colour and whilst I like a blue bath, red is equally as awesome! After a long day at work or after making my way home from my boyfriends I would run a hot bath and have some of this in there. It would make my muscles feel less achy and did the trick. I need this again as I can see December being a very busy, tiring and thus achy month for myself!

  • Natural Collection Wild Strawberry Shower Creme.

This was a free product on a 3 for 2 offer from Boots and it was definitely an amazing freebie to pick up! My friend Poppy suggested I try this out as it’s really nice and even compared it to The Body Shop’s Strawberry Shower Gel, which I LOVE. This is a lovely shower creme and is something I will pick up again as it lasted a month and was nice to use before going to work. It foamed up lovely on my sponge and left my skin feeling really soft and smelling of strawberries. This isn’t as good as The Body Shop’s shower gel, but I just love that stuff so much! This costs Β£2 (I think!) to buy and it’s definitely worth the money! I really want to try more of their products with the Wild Strawberry scent.

  • Gillette Satin Care Sensitive Shave Gel with Olay.

I picked this up in October from Boots for half of the price it was supposed to be and oh my do I love it! Sadly though I haven’t re purchased this yet, only when it’s as cheap as it was the first time I bought it, will it venture my shopping basket again. This is a lovely shave gel that will leave you feeling soft and smooth after use as well as leaving your skin moisturised! My legs tend to get very scaled looking after shaving but whilst I was using this, my legs looked and felt beautiful and quite frankly I miss using this stuff. I can’t wait to buy it again soon, I hope.

  • Original Source Lemon & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Okay this is actually a travel size version and although this was meant to be used for whenever I went to my boyfriends I soon just left it at home on my bath to use in the mornings before work. This stuff is amazing and I’m going to be picking up the full size version in the New Year! This stuff reminds me of the yellow Penicillin you got as a child, it smells JUST LIKE IT and that just reminds me of times when I was younger and whilst I hated being ill, I loved the medicine. My Mom called it “the banana medicine”. πŸ˜› The full size only costs a Β£1 and I regret not picking any up a couple of days ago, so I think I will be during the week.

  • Pears Hand Wash.

When I was younger my Mom bought the bar of soap version of this for me to use on my hands and body and I don’t remember if it was any good or not, but as the bottle of this said it was mild and good for the skin, I thought it would help my eczema… It did the complete opposite and made it worse!!! I actually couldn’t wait to use this up and I’m NEVER buying it again! I’m sure this will be great for most people but for myself its rubbish and no. Just no.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Face Spa Face Mask.

There are two of these that were used up during November, not both of them used by me by the way. One by myself and one by my boyfriend. I persuaded him to do one of these masks with me so I didn’t feel so ugly and alone whilst I sat there with the sheet mask on my face. I’ve mentioned these before in empties and favourite posts and they’re amazing! You simply take the mask out of the packet, place it on your face and relax with it on for 15 or so minutes. Then after you’ve left it on for the correct amount of time you take it off, rub the excess bits of the sheet mask onto you face and then rinse off. It leaves your skin feeling clean and tingly and after a couple of days I notice that any sign of spots or blemishes vanish. I don’t know what my boyfriend thought of this mask, but he didn’t complain about having spots or anything. This mask is great for men as it doesn’t involve all the clay or peeled off of a gel mask.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Blemish Mud Face Mask.

This was the first Montagne Jeunesse I ever tried out and since then it’s been one of my favourites to use, especially when I’m suffering with a bad case of spots or blemishes! This is a dull green/grey clay mask that feels amazing when put onto the skin and leaves your skin feeling soft, fresh and clean! Like the tea tree sheet mask it takes a couple of days for any current spots or blemishes to go away but after that this mask leaves your skin looking clear and beautiful for a couple of days. I used this in the bath just so it was easier to wash off of my face after use, but I think due to this it did break me out a little. But I’m not 100% sure, my spots have been weird this month!

  • Montagne Jeunesse Hot Chocolate Self Heating Face Mask.

This mask smells just like Terry’s Chocolate Orange or an orange hot chocolate from Costa and thus smells amazing and delicious and all I want to do when this is on is eat it… However this being said I am glad to see this gone from my mask collection. This mask is great for leaving my skin lovely and soft, as well as smelling of something delicious but due to the warmth of this mask it does melt and half the time it drips off of my face, into my eyes, nose and even my mouth… Mmm delicious… Not. Either way whilst this mask does do an amazing job, it’s an awkward mask to use and one I think I’ll stay away from this in future. Montagne Jeunesse do have a chocolateΒ  mask, which I am yet to try. As well as this dripping off of my face and making me crave chocolate, it also stained one of my face cloths, which I was rather annoyed at but I replaced it for a couple of quid. If you don’t mind self heated masks the definitely try this one! But personally I didn’t notice that this did anything for my skin, other than soften it.

So those were my empties for November! There would have been more but there’s a little left so those products will be coming up in my December empties instead.

I can’t believe we have less than a month now until 2014. Are you excited? I bloody well am!

So what products did you use up during November? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time take care!

October Empties

DSC_0054

I haven’t used much up during October and I’m not quite sure why but either way it means in the next couple of empties posts I might have loads of products to mention, so let’s get on with the post.

DSC_0051

  • Juicy Fruits Banana Body Wash.

This was an old Christmas present given to my Mom by a cousin. She had forgotten all about it and as the set it came in was brand new, my Mom asked me if I wanted it. I love the smell of banana so took it with both hands! This stuff is amazing! It smells just like bananas and for something that probably cost very little to make, it’s a very good body wash! The scent lasts ages on the skin, as well as leaving it feeling soft and smooth after using. My bathroom smelt like banana for ages after I’d taken a shower too, which I wasn’t complaining about! I wish I could find this to buy however, or at least an alternative as it smells heavenly. Anyone know of any banana shower gels or body washes I could buy?

  • Mandara Spa Gentle Hand Wash in Amber Heaven.

I really love the smell of Amber Heaven by Mandara Spa and I own the bubble bath version of this stuff too so when I found out they made a hand wash, I made sure to get some for the bathroom. However, as lovely as this smells I’m sort of glad to see it finished… Why, you must be wondering? Because it hasn’t helped my eczema out at all and if anything I’m wondering if it’s made it worse due to the strong perfume smell. This does smell gorgeous and for ages the scent of it would linger on my hands for ages, which I really liked. If it wasn’t for my eczema I would re purchase, but I think I need something tailored to soothing my hands, not just perfuming them. I recommend this if you like musky smells, as whilst I hate them usually, this is gorgeous and reminds me of autumn and winter.

  • Imperial Leather Foamburst Luxurious Body Wash in Moisturising Honey & Almond Milk.

This was mentioned in my September favourites and I’m rather sad to see it all finished and although I haven’t bought another one for myself yet, I’m waiting until I find some on offer to buy as I want to grab a couple of different scents to try. This was lovely and creamy and I often used it in the shower when I was in a hurry so usually after work if I was sticky from making drinks. This also made a great shave foam too and was mostly used for this purpose. The honey and almond milk in this smelt heavenly and these sorts of scents have always reminded me of my childhood. They were said to be moisturising and they definitely were. After each use of this my skin felt soft and smooth as well as feeling and smelling lovely and clean! This lasted me about a month, which seems like a decent time to me. I spoke more about this in my favourites post last month so if you would like to know more, go and check out that post. I’m definitely going to buy more of these in future, if not very soon.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Face Mask.

I bought this mask to try as it sounded like it would really work with my skin as it’s a scrub and mask in one, which seemed like a nice idea! It contains spearmint and dead sea salt so I know it would leave my skin feeling lovely and clean as well as soft. I used this in the bath, as I knew it would be hard to rinse off and apply what with all the scrubbing I would need to do when applying, as well as washing off. This mask worked like a charm and I already know I want to buy some more. It’s a clear light blue gel texture with plenty of pieces of sea salt and felt really cooling on my fingers. I splashed my face with some warm water and applied the mask onto my skin in a rubbing motion, it felt tingly and cool on my skin, which I really liked. The salt in this mask isn’t harsh but enough that you can feel it working when you’re rubbing it on your skin. After I felt I’d done enough scrubbing I relaxed for 15 minutes and finally gave it one more gentle rub around my face before rinsing off. My skin felt really soft afterwards and I made sure to splash my face with some cold water before getting out of the bath. My skin has felt lovely since and the spots I had on my skin the day and days before using this vanished a day after use, so I’m really glad that it worked for my skin. I’m going to definitely be using this in future, it’s a lovely face mask and a real treat!

  • Original Source Shower Gel in Tea Tree & Mint.

This (as you can probably see) is a little travel size shower gel and was bought for when I first started to go to my boyfriends. I felt bad using his shower gel so I thought to myself, “Hey! If I take my own then I won’t be using his up!” but alas this ended up with me using his anyway! This shower gel smells gorgeous, mostly of mint and leaves a lovely scent on your skin after use. It also foams up lovely in a shower scrunchy, which I really liked! This shower gel is really nice, but may I add only during the hot months as due to the mint it leaves a tingling cold sensation after use. I’d been using this for the majority during the warmer months so I hadn’t noticed this before, but more recently upon using it, I’ve been left in my shower shuddering from the cold feeling this leaves you with. I won’t be re purchasing this shower gel again until summer approaches us! This little travel bottle wasn’t cheap and in Boots cost more than it would for the full size bottle in Bodycare, which pissed me off a little bit. I won’t be buying travel bottles again, I’ll just take a full size one instead!

So those were all my empties for this month!

What products did you use up during October? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all.

August Favourites

DSC_0013

Really August, really? You’ve already come and gone in the blink of an eye and now it’s September, one of my favourite months of the year and boy, is it going to be an exciting one!

To think in July’s favourites I was excited to starting university this month and now I’m not even going to university anymore. Shame I guess, but it isn’t something to be rushed into and it was certainly planned too late.

I loved quite a few things in August and as usual at the start of each month, I share them with you all.

  • Hidden Passion Eau De Parfum,

This is by far the cheapest perfume I have ever bought, but for what it is it does a good job for work. It cost me 99p from a Pound Shop and if it wasn’t for my friend Jacqui taking me in there to have a sniff, I wouldn’t have bought it, which she bought a bottle of too. It smells like a lighter version of Jean Paul Gautier Classique EDT, which I really like but can’t afford to buy. This doesn’t last that long when sprayed on, but I don’t expect it to for how much I paid, but I like to use this whilst at work as I work around food and drink and wouldn’t want to taint the customers orders with my perfume. This stays in my handbag all the time and as it’s a 75ml bottle it will last me absolutely ages, which I like. I never thought I would buy a 99p perfume but it really is ideal for work and has replaced my body spray.

  • Possibility Peppermint Ice Cream Ultra Rich Shower Gel, Shampoo, & Bubble Bath.

I’ve mentioned a couple of Possibility products (Orange Cupcake here and here and Raspberry Pavlova here) on my blog before and I’ve loved using them all. I found this in Home Bargains for less than a Β£1.00 and snapped it up quickly. It smells just like mint humbugs and reminds me of Christmas and the Twinings Tea that we sell at work. It lathers up really well and leaves your skin feeling tingly and fresh, which is really nice as it makes me feel clean. I’ve been using this to shave with and it’s really nice to use, just like Orange Cupcake was too. Time and time again I have recommended the Possibility products on here as well as to friends and I know I’ll continue to do so.

  • Garnier Hand Intensive 7 Days SOS-Repair Hand Cream in Dry To Extra-Dry Hands.

My eczema is getting rather bad at the moment due to the change in weather as well as constantly washing my hands at work. I’ve mentioned this before in a monthly favourites here and have been using this product for a year now. It’s really good and lasts ages and I have to keep one in my handbag at all times, as well as in my room for use before I go out. It’s really good for getting rid of my dry skin and is something I use alongside my eczema steroid cream, which I need to get more of from my doctor soon as I’ve run out. I recommend this hand cream to everyone as it doesn’t cost that much and a little bit goes a long way so it lasts ages!

  • Outspoken Intense EDP by Fergie.

I got this little sample of Outspoken about a year ago when I bought Outspoken by Fergie, which I really liked. This smells really nice and as it’s in a little dab bottle I like to pop a bit of this on my neck, wrists and behind my knees before I go out. I wouldn’t carry it around with me as I’d worry that the lid would fall off and leak in my bag. This is really nice though and I’d be tempted to buy myself a full size version of this if it is still available to buy.

  • Original Source Shower Gel in Lemon & Tea Tree.

I bought this little travel version of the full size shower gel to take with me whenever I go to visit my boyfriend to use in the shower, as I was feeling bad for using his shower gel. However this has just ended up on the side of my bath as it’s so delicious and I’ll soon be buying the huge version of this. Remember the yellow medicine you had as a kid and how amazing it smelt? This smells JUST LIKE THAT and also like lemon pie, which I love. I can’t get enough of it and thus cannot wait to get my full size version of this. I’m going to see if they sell a hand wash and shampoo version of this, as I would love my hands and hair to smell of it too. It lathers up beautifully and leaves my skin smelling gorgeous and feeling soft.

  • Bath & Body Works PocketBac in Fresh Picked Strawberries.

I’ve written a review for this product before which you can find here and for a while I stopped using this product and my two other PocketBac’s because I had no money to replace them and wanted to save them for when I did have money to replace them with. I still don’t have the money to replace them with but I know I don’t want them to sit in my drawer rotting away, so best to use them. I like using this one when I’m out and about, occasionally at work and whilst I’m in the house when I fancy the nice strawberry scent. I love the PocketBac’s and I really want to add more of these to my growing collection as they’re lovely. They smell really strong, last ages on the skin and of course keep germs away!

DSC_0017

  • Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch & Mint Fresh.

Since these came out in the UK and I got them in my mitts I’ve used nothing else but these! Mint Fresh is all I use when I’m at home as it goes onto the lips really easy and is small enough to fit into my pocket and I use Pink Punch at work so that I can keep my lips really soft as well as have the lovely bubblegum pink tint too as I don’t feel confident enough to wear my lipsticks at my job yet. Full reviews of these here for Mint Fresh and here for Pink Punch. I’ll be re-purchasing both of these again in future already as well as the other versions of the Baby Lips.

  • Rockstar Super Sours Energy Drink in Green Apple.

Not a beauty related product but I love this stuff and as the shop down the road from me sells this and the shop down the road from work too, I can often can be found drinking a can of this to get my sugar levels back up.

So those were my favourites for August, I loved everything and I can’t wait to see what products will be here next month. I’m really excited for September!

So what products did you enjoy using throughout August? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care and talk soon!
