March Favourites ’18

Happy Easter everyone! I do apologise that this post is a day late (well I’m being naughty and putting it up as if it was actually on time… ;P) but it was my first Easter that I’ve had a 4 day weekend and not had to work! I also spent it chilling with Dane, as well as with friends and family which is the best way to spend it.

Now I’m finally getting the chance to work on my monthly favourites whilst I watch some gaming YouTube videos. Finally, here are my favourites for March!

  • Palmolive Naturals Milk & Honey Shower Gel Cream.

Not long ago I picked up this HUGE pump shower gel cream and I only got it for £2.00/£2.50 from Morrison’s on a food shop and at first I regretted it but this was near to half price so I was pretty happy at the bargain I grabbed. ANYWAY I started using this at the start of the month and it’s lasting agggges! You only need a little and it foams up gorgeously as well as leaving you smelling amazing and feeling lovely and soft. The milk and honey Palmolive shower cream reminds me of Fuerteventura for various reasons, the main one being back in the day when we first had the house there we took loads of “home comforts” and this was one of mine that my mom bought for me, so the scent always reminds me of my younger years there. Now it’s coconut scents that do it for me! 😛

  • Diesel Loverdose Eau de Parfum.

I’ve been using my Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT for what feels like forever and halfway through March I decided it was time to start using something else, something that I love to the moon and back. Loverdose by Diesel is one of my favourite perfumes and this is actually my second bottle now! It reminds me of my best friend Jacqui as when it first came out she got a bottle for her birthday and showed me it. Now when I wear it it reminds me of her. It has a unique fragrance and reminds me of a mixture of liquorice (which is actually contains!) and tequila. If you’ve never given this gorgeous perfume a sniff, then get on it! Even if you don’t like liquorice, you’ll love this. 😛

  • Collection Velvet Kiss Moisturising Lip Cream in shade Rosie.

Whilst on a quick shopping trip to Superdrug in March I was having a nose around the Collection stand for my staple eyebrow gel and noticed the lip creams. I used to use these back in the day when they first launched and during the summer months I used these to death! I decided it was time to pick up a new one, but instead of going to the shades I used to use (Cotton being one of them) I decided to pick up the red shade Rosie. I love wearing red lipsticks and I actually haven’t worn lipstick properly for months. Since buying this I’ve used it about a handful of times alone and with a lip liner and it’s so good! It lasts ages and feels so comfortable when wearing it. I’ll definitely be reviewing this in April. You can check out the review one of the old shades Fairy Cake here for the time being.

  • Nails inc Nail Polish in shade Dream Dust.

I feel like I haven’t worn my unicorn Nails inc polishes for ages! So I decided to grab Dream Dust to wear every other week throughout the month and throughout Easter. I forgot what a gorgeous shade Dream Dust is to be honest with you. It’s a shimmer gold glitter with a mauve base shade. It’s so shimmery and is definitely an awkward shade to remove but whatever! It’s a shade you can wear throughout the summer, especially for holidays! This lasts a long time too so I’ll definitely make a habit of wearing it more often at work. I loved Nails inc polishes back in the day when I was a student but then I sort of fell out of love with them. Since picking up the Beauty of Dreams gift set before Christmas last year (you can read about it here!) I’ve realised that Nails inc are still an amazing nails polish brand, if not even better now than they used to be!

  • L’Oreal Hair Expertise Sleek Smooth Intense Shampoo.

I recently started using a new shampoo and this is actually the same if not similar to one I use when I’m in Fuerteventura (which you can see here) as it’s just one of the best and affordable! When I came home I searched for this shampoo straight away and bought that as well as another type of sulphate-free shampoo. Since starting to use this shampoo my hair has felt so smooth and looked less frizzy too. I’m so glad I started being sulphate free with shampoos this past year as it’s really helped my hair and to be honest since finding budget friendly shampoos, it’s helped my wallet too. 😛 I really recommend the L’Oreal sulphate free shampoos if you want to give this type of stuff a go as they’re super cheap from Superdrug and more often then not, on offer too.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Violet Evergarden.

I feel like I’ve mentioned this anime on my blog in the past and I’m pretty sure it was when Dane wrote a post on here with me not long ago (you can read it here). He introduced me to this anime when it first started but like he always has a habit of doing, he got me to start watching it at episode 3. I watched a couple of episodes but I just couldn’t feel like I was getting into it. Then a couple of weeks ago he said he’d watched episode 10 and that I needed to as well. We started watching the anime together from beginning to episode 11 and oh man, I have fallen in love with the show. Every single episode is also heartbreaking and I was silently crying at most if not all of the episodes. I’ll copy and paste the synopsis as I’m awful when writing what stuff is about without worrying of ruining it!

Synopsis (source: Anime Expo) – There are words Violet heard on the battlefield, which she cannot forget. These words were given to her by someone she holds dear, more than anyone else. She does not yet know their meaning. A certain point in time, in the continent of Telesis. The great war which divided the continent into North and South has ended after four years, and the people are welcoming a new generation. Violet Evergarden, a young girl formerly known as “the weapon,” has left the battlefield to start a new life at CH Postal Service. There, she is deeply moved by the work of “Auto Memories Dolls,” who carry people’s thoughts and convert them into words.

If you fancy giving this anime a go you can find it over on Netflix where it’s in English. It’s being aired at the same time as in Japan, which is amazing. It’s such a beautiful anime both in the way it looks as well as the story line.

Favourite Film – 10 Cloverfield Lane.

I remember going to the cinema to watch Cloverfield and all the rumours around it of people running out of the cinema to be sick due to the motion controls of the camera. FYI I was fine. 😛 I loved the film at the time and have since then watched it about a handful of times. When 10 Cloverfield Lane was announced I wanted to go and watch it, but no one else was really arsed. Years later it was put up on Netflix and me and Dane decided to give it a go. This is a film that really keeps you on the edge of your seat for various different things! You’re constantly wondering what is happening outside, as well as inside the bunker that the three characters are staying in. You have some awesome character development which is quickly snatched away from you by the time you start getting to know them and liking them. If you haven’t watched 10 Cloverfield Lane, then I definitely recommend it!

I Am A Hero Omnibus Volume 1 by Kengo Hanazawa

Favourite Book – I Am A Hero Omnibus Vol. 1 and 2.

This was one (well technically two) of the presents I got Dane for Christmas just gone and after he read Vol. 1 he gave it to me to show me some awesome scenes in the book. I checked them out and as it was halfway through the manga I decided to give it a read for myself and now I’ve ended up reading more than Dane has considering he’s only read the first volume and I’ve now read both the omnibus volumes he owns. It’s about a zombie apocalypse that hits Japan, with our “hero” being an anxious manga artist who sees things late at night and dreams of being a huge manga artist once again. It’s so well drawn and very realistic, you’re just hooked on it and want to keep reading. I actually finished the second omnibus volume in almost two hours… FYI it is a huge book! That and I’m a slow reader. 😛 Hopefully he won’t read this post but I intend to get Dane the rest of the omnibus volumes for his birthday.

Favourite Song/Album – Various…

Meh I wasn’t really sure what music to mention on my blog this month as I’ve just been listening to all sorts really… Mostly stuff I’ve heard on the radio at work, as well as some oldies I love. I’ll post above some of the songs I’m loving and quickly why below.

Dua Lipa – New Rules – I don’t know what it is that I love about this song and originally I was into an 80’s remix I heard on the radio first. I just find the song is really catchy and Dua Lipa has a lovely singing voice too.

Joyce Manor – Make Me Dumb – I first heard this game on Forza Horizon 3 as Dane bought it aggggges ago to play on his Xbox One and since then I’ve loved it! It’s such a catchy and upbeat rock song and due to that I just had to have it on my iPod for drives to and from places.

Paloma Faith – Crybaby – I don’t know what it is about this song but I love EVERYTHING about it! Paloma Faith is an artist I’ve listened to more of since 2016 and her voice is amazing, as well as her lyrics. This song is one that you’d listen to when you feel like crap and you need some encouraging words to listen to. It’s not a slow sad song, it’s an upbeat “pull yourself together, it’ll be okay” type song and I think that’s what I love the most about it.

Favourite Game – Miitopia.

YES FOR ONCE IT ISN’T PERSONA 5 ON MY LIST! Sorry I love Persona 5 so it will come up a lot on here… In fact be prepared to hear about it next month as the anime series for it starts in less than a week now! 😀 Anyway… I got myself a new 2DS XL recently (which I’ll be writing about at some point on my blog) and I feel like since picking this up, I’ve been picking up my DS a hell of a lot more now I have a new one. I’m going to put it down to the screens being shit loads bigger and better at that! I picked up this game the day before I flew to Fuerteventura in September last year and Dane loved the look of it so much he got himself a copy too! Basically you play the hero and an evil guy has come and taken everyone’s faces, so you need to go and fight him and his minions to get them back. As the name suggests, it’s based on your Mii’s, the little customised characters you create on your 3DS and Wii, I don’t think the Switch has really bothered with it. I was close to finishing it before we came back from Fuerteventura but never did. HOWEVER, since picking up my 2DS XL I’ve played more and oh man, I forgot how much I love it! It’s an RPG game but it’s such a lax one at that, which is why I love it so much. Basically if you loved Tamodachi Life on the 3DS and you love RPG’s then you will love this! They do have a demo on the Nintendo eShop so check it out.

PHEW finally I have my favourites from March written down and done! I swear I can’t believe how quickly the year is going already and it’s my last day off of the Easter holidays too. SAD TIMES! 😛

I’m off to go and chill out, whilst attempting to eat some of my chocolate eggs. I bought myself one this year and received one from my manager as well as Dane’s parents. I’m not a massive chocolate person, so my chocolate eggs will probably last months. 😛

How many chocolate eggs did you get for Easter? Also, what are your favourites from March? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and Happy Easter!

October Favourites ’17

It’s definitely and rapidly becoming my favourite time of year! It’s getting darker earlier now, we get an “extra hour” in bed, Halloween was yesterday, Bonfire Night is over the weekend AND Christmas is going to be here before we know it.

It’s a new month, November at that which can only mean one thing, it’s time for a new favourites post. It also means Christmas is looming, AHH! 😀

Let’s just jump straight into this months favourites.

  • Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo.

I picked this shampoo up not long after I got back from holiday. I knew I was short of the Liz Earle shampoo I use so went to order some more, only to find out that Boots doesn’t appear to be stocking it anymore! I know I can get it elsewhere… But at £10 a bottle I wanted to try and pick something up a little lighter on my monies. This was definitely cheaper and it’s amazing for the price too! I’ve found it’s really helped my hair stay cleaner for longer, as well as look and feel soft and healthy. The Liz Earle one did too, but I just felt like it didn’t leave my hair feeling as clean as this one does! It also carries a gorgeous coconut scent which reminds me of Fuerteventura.

  • Dior Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT.

I’ve owned this perfume quite a while now and when I first bought it I loved it, but after a while I fell out of love with it… I found that whilst it smelt amazing, due to it being a toilette that the scent wouldn’t last as long as I wanted it to. This being said it’s also really nice to use a light perfume and it’s one I wore to work one day and it’s just stuck in my handbag since. I’ll probably end up switching it up soon, as I always tend to do, but I am trying to use up some of my older perfumes so I can make way for any new ones I wish to try.

  • Nails Inc Rainbow Wishes Nail Polish.

This is one part of the Unicorn Nail Polish Duo Kit and although I love both shades just as much, I prefer this one out of the two. I love wearing it on my weekends off of work as it looks so pretty without being over the top. I think I’ll wear this Bonfire Night alongside the other shade from the duo.

  • Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Paint in shade Pop Up (review here).

I haven’t worn my Barry M lip paints much since buying them, which is a shame as they’re actually amazing! My mental health hasn’t been too great towards the end of October so to try and cheer myself up I wore this shade quite a lot and I forgot what a gorgeous cherry red it is! I know I’m going to wear the hell out of it throughout the festive period!

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream.

Ages ago when these shower creams first came out I made sure to stock up on them whilst the were a £1 each and after stocking up on those I bought LOADS of other shower cream/gel. Finally those are all gone and used and I can start using this amazing chocolate shower cream again. These are some of my favourite shower creams to use as they smell and even look like melted milk chocolate. Not only does it smell amazing but it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth all day long. I really recommend these shower creams in all of the scents!

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Stranger Things.

As many people will know season 2 of Stranger Things came out under a week ago and everyone has gone crazy for it, including me and Dane! As soon as it went live on Netflix me and Dane started to watch it. We got the new season completed in just 2 days and it is AMAZING! I didn’t know what to expect from watching the trailers and I didn’t really think much about it. Only when we watched it was I trying to constantly guess what was going on. At one point towards the end of the season I was shouting at the character(s), you know, as you do. 😛 I just enjoyed it so much and I already can’t wait for season 3… Which sounds like it’s already been announced.

Favourite Film – The Anthem of the Heart (Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda).

This was a film Dane had told me about and we watched it one of the days in October. I can safely said I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and would gladly watch again! It’s about a girl who loves to talk and talks loads, which ends up getting her into some “trouble”. She is cursed after this and whenever she talks after she feels like she needs to be sick. From there she becomes part of a school project which involves music, which also seems to help her find her voice and start to talk again. I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to give anything away! It’s an amazing anime film and one you should watch if you love films such as A Silent Voice or Your Name.

Favourite Book – Erm…

I actually don’t know why I have this option on here anymore as I don’t seem to read these days! I feel bad for not reading, but I feel like all I do lately is write my blog, watch random films and shows and play games. Reading hasn’t really factored into it lately. I really want to start reading manga again however! I have loads of K-ON! that I need to read! November will definitely be the month of starting to read again. 😛

Favourite Song/Album – Saliva – Back Into Your System

This is an album I actually listened to earlier on in the week when driving my car and I always forget how much I love it. It’s by far one of my favourite albums and whenever I listen to it it cheers me up so much. I’ve had a crappy couple of months recently so to listen to this album before and even after some good news it’s made me very happy. This is the song that introduced me to Saliva and due to that it’s my favourite of theirs, as well as from this album.

Favourite Game – South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

I can’t believe how long I had to wait for this game to come out, but it has definitely been worth it! I’m surprised I haven’t finished it yet to be honest but this is due to various reasons, Netflix being the main one. 😛 It’s nothing like the first game in my opinion and if anything it’s way better! There just feels like there’s more to do and it already feels like there’s more game play as well which is amazing. I just can’t wait to finish it! I intend to play loads Friday when I finish work as well as over the weekend.

So those were my favourites from October! I still can’t believe we’re into November now, the year is still going by way too quickly and it creeps me out.

Not only is Christmas and New Year next month, but my birthday will be the month after and I can’t believe I’ll be 28!

I’m excited for all those things to come however! So what were your favourites from October? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had an awesome Halloween.

May Favourites ’17

Well hello June! Both mine and Dane’s month of big things, including our 4 year anniversary and also our first year anniversary of buying our house.

May has been nothing but shit to be perfectly honest. The start of the month saw me really poorly and without going into detail work has been crap. This has sadly resulted in my mental health getting worse and me relapsing. I’ll have to go into more detail about this in another post though.

BUT June! I’m seeing it as a month for improvement! Getting myself a better job, saving up better for our holiday and getting myself better.

May was the month that I was able to start wearing my lipsticks again WHICH IS AMAZING NEWS! I’ve never been so happy as to wear my red MAC lipstick. 😛

Of course I have some other favourites so lets get to it!

  • Boots Extracts Marshmallow and Peppermint Body Scrub.

This is a body scrub I picked up in the sales in the marshmallow and peppermint gift set. I really wanted to get one of these so I was really pleased that I found one on New Years Eve on a trip to town with Dane! I’ve already used the shower gel and I use the hand cream at work, which is amazing. The body butter it equally as good. The body scrub isn’t the best in the world but it certainly does the job! I just wish it was rougher really as whilst I have sensitive skin I still like to feel that something it working and doing the job. Obviously this was limited edition for Christmas so it can’t be bought now (well, unless it’s on eBay) so yeah… 😛

Image taken from Superdrug

  • Palmolive Gourmet Mint Shake Body Butter Shower Cream.

I LOVE these shower creams so damn much, I can’t even put into words! Every time me and Dane see these on offer whilst out doing our food shop we pick a couple up. Whilst the chocolate one is my favourite this is a new one me and Dane picked up to try and og my… It was gorgeous! 😀 Sadly I don’t have the bottle anymore as we used it all up. We’re currently using the vanilla one, which is equally amazing! These are really thick shower creams and a little really does go a long way! This always leaves my skin feel soft and smooth and smelling amazing. The chocolate one is definitely the best but it doesn’t hurt to try the others! If you haven’t tried these yet PLEASE get some and give it a go. I doubt you’ll regret it. 😛

  • Victoria’s Secret Victoria EDP.

Late last year I travelled down to Chichester for work and after I’d finished any shifts I’d done there I was able to go and do whatever I wanted for the rest of the day. Not going to lie, most of the time I ventured to the shops as I was so bored in the hotel room otherwise! I went into the town centre on my last day and ended up going in TK Maxx to do a bit of retail therapy. Among some Korean beauty items I picked up this perfume. Whenever I venture into Victoria’s Secret I  have a smell of the perfumes in there to see what they’re like. They’re nothing special to be honest but they look great because of what they are. You know? This is a 50ml bottle and cost me about £25.99 from memory. It’s a great perfume but not as good as I remember… I use it for work really as a body spray more than anything. It’s like and not that heavy so it’s good if you work around food.

  • Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Lipstick in shade Roman.

I’ve owned this for about a year now and I’ve probably only used it a  handful of times. It’s a very creamy and glossy lipstick and due to that I find it’s a bit too sticky and heavy to use during work. This is however the first lipstick I wore since my lips being bad and I actually didn’t realise how easy and nice this lipstick is to wear. To get rid of that glossy feeling I blotted it a little and it lasted AGES! It’s also a really nice lipstick to wear during warm and muggy weather. It’s one I’ll be wearing more this year for sure. I miss wearing lipsticks instead of wearing liquid lipsticks all the time. This one is pretty moisturising too.

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Reviving Pumice Foot Scrub.

I’ve loved this foot scrub for years and although I’ve had this new tub since January this year, I’ve hardly used it to be honest… I don’t know why… BUT I’ve recently started using it once a week to make sure my feet are lovely and soft! To date I haven’t found a foot scrub as good as this one. It doesn’t work miracles (for £7.50 you can’t expect that!) but it does help my feet be soft and smooth for a while! You can’t really go wrong and I recommend The Body Shop foot range to everyone. It’s definitely the best thing about The Body Shop.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Daria.

Daria has been around for years and whilst I have always known about it, I’d never actually watched it until recently. At the start of May I was really poorly with a stomach bug and for nearly a week was bedridden due to it. So whilst I had to stay in bed I decided to binge watch all of season one and half of season two. I never realised how good it was to be honest as well as  how much I can relate to both Daria and Jane! I love them both so much, I want two besties just like them. 😛 Even though me and my best friend Gabriella are probably like them anyway! xD I really need to continue watching it really and when I have my week off in a few weeks time I think I’ll binge watch it from the start with Dane, as I discovered he likes the show too. 😀

Favourite Film – Popstar: Never Stop Stopping.

This film isn’t new, in fact it’s been out for a year now and it’s one me and Dane have watched a couple of times now. It’s hilarious to be honest! If you love The Lonely Island then you will love this film as it’s the same guys behind the band. It’s basically a piss take at Justin Bieber, as well as other pop bands and artists out there. The songs (as usual by The Lonely Island) are catchy and funny as fuck! There’s also loads of celebrity appearances including Justin Timberlake as a Japanese sushi chef, who is absolutely hilarious! If you haven’t watched this film yet then I recommend it.

Favourite Book – Bridget Jones’s About The Boy.

This is a book I bought back in 2015 after I returned from my holiday in Fuerteventura with my dad. I had read The Edge of Reason and fell in love with Bridget all over again. SO of course I had to pick up the third book! I haven’t read loads (I hardly get time to read books… Manga I appear to. :P) but oh my God it is lovely to read about Bridget again! I was inspired to pick it up after watching the third movie Bridget Jones’s Baby. Sorry ladies (and gents) of the world who love that film but I thought it was so tacky and just awful. It was so obvious all the way through who the dad would be and it just lacked anything that Bridget would do in my mind. Well most of the time anyway. She would complain constantly about how she’s going to be a crap mom, how she can’t smoke, how she can’t drink, how she’s gaining weight. I don’t recall any of that happening. I’ve also ordered the fourth book too, which is Helen Fielding’s take on it, which already sounds much better than the film!

Favourite Song – RuPaul “Jealous Of My Boogie” and “Glamazon”.

I’m not going to lie, I’ve never been a massive fan of the songs from RuPaul… I especially don’t like how he uses the show to advertise his new single… Sorry but yeah. This being said there has always been two songs that stand out to me, which are Jealous Of My Boogie (which I’ve added above) and Glamazon. I just love how catchy and upbeat both songs are. I find myself playing them in the bathroom whilst cleaning! I love the one I’ve linked about the most. I need to download some music very soon and these two will definitely be downloaded straight away.

Favourite Game – Persona 5.

No word of a lie, I haven’t enjoyed a game this much since I discovered Pokemon and Animal Crossing, which are two of my favourite game series. OH and South Park of course! 😛 I haven’t been playing this nonstop due to being an adult, but if I could I totally would! I play it a couple of nights a week after work and I can’t wait until I play it next. I mean after I’ve typed up this blog post (and probably another) I might go downstairs and play it (although it’s 7.30pm now… I may be too late to go down and play. Sad face.) but we shall see!

I don’t know how to explain what the game is about and to be honest I want to review the game itself so I don’t want to go into too much detail! It’s like Pokemon to be honest but darker. 😛

Yeahhhh so those were my favourites for May! I can’t believe we are officially halfway through the year now. 2017 is going way too quickly and whilst I’m glad (kinda…) I’m also feeling like my life is flashing before my eyes and I’m not doing anything with it, which sucks. It’ll get better though…

What were your favourites from May? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time take care all!

September ’16 Favourites

I read the other day that there are now only 12 Monday’s left until Christmas. DAYUM! September is now over and I am gutted. It’s my favourite month for various reasons so I am sad to say goodbye to it for another year.

Autumn is now upon us and I am super excited for darker days, chilly evenings and an excuse for drinking nothing but hot chocolate!

So before I talk about why I love autumn (we shall save that for another post!) I better get on with what my favourites were for the month.

 photo September Favs_zpsd7gz0hq9.jpg

some_text

  • Palmolive Gourmet Chocolate Shower Cream

This is probably my favourite thing from this month as it is just a perfect bog standard shower cream. I picked this up on a food shop when it was on offer for a £1 in Morrisons and I regret not buying a couple of them now considering they’ve gone up to £2.20! Due to us finishing the product sadly the bottle has now gone, but I’ve inserted a picture above so you get an idea of what it looks like. It’s a thick shower cream and due to this it foams up lovely in a sponge and a little goes a long way. Like pretty much all Palmolive shower creams this leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, as well as smelling beautiful! This doesn’t smell like a horrible artificial chocolate scent, it smells creamy and yummy. They also came out with a vanilla and strawberry version. I can see us stocking up on this as soon as we see it at a decent price again.

  • Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint in shade Vamped Up

Over the past year I have really gotten into my darker shades and I feel like most shades I buy now are either dark red, pink or purple. Of course when I eyed up these new lip paints by Maybelline it was either the red or the purple shade, I obviously picked up the latter. My mom actually told me about these and they are amazing! So pigmented and last ages. I wear this with a lip liner for both work and social and I love it. I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it throughout autumn and winter this year.

  • Imperial Leather Marshmallow Bath Cream

I remember buying this bath cream for Dane as he loves the shower cream. I’m always having Lush baths in the house and although he doesn’t like taking baths often I wanted to get him something nice that he can use whenever he does fancy having one. You know what? I’ve been using this bath cream more than he has! I even picked up a bottle when I recently stayed in Chichester for a week and used it a couple of times. It creates lovely fluffy bubbles and is strong enough in scent that you can smell it on you hours later. Sadly the shower cream isn’t as good as that. I picked this up for a £1 in both Boots and Sainsburys so it’s a complete bargain!

  • Forever Young By Jean Pierre Pore Control Green Tea Facial Mask

I picked these up recently from Homesense on a whim that they sounded good, were cheap and the fact I’m obsessed with sheet masks these days! I took one with me to Chichester and used one when I came back too. These aren’t as great as the Korean sheet masks but for the price they’re a really nice treat that you can have more often. I decided to get the pore control ones so that both myself and Dane could give them a go. I don’t have big pores, but I do like to keep them clear is possible. I also love anything with green tea which is nice. I used these after scrubbing my face so that all the goodness from the mask can get into my skin. When it’s been a little warmer the past month these have been really nice to use. I recommend them!

  • Paco Rabbane Lady Million EDP

I’ve owned this perfume for quite a long time since my mom gave it to me. It reminds me of fluffy towels and freshly washed bedding, which I find really comforting. I’ve been wearing it for work various times throughout the month and it’s been a really nice transitioning scent from summer to autumn. It’s nice and strong too and I always get compliments on it which is always good.

So those were my favourites from September! Nothing mind blowing, although there were a few newbies on here.

What were you loving throughout September? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and have a lovely weekend!

November Empties

This is the final empties post I’ll be doing, sad times! I just don’t have it in my heart to do these posts anymore and if anything they feel like a chore to do at the best of times. If I really want to rave about a product then I’ll review it, or even have it mentioned on my favourites post. Also if I’ve used a product I really didn’t like I’ll probably do a “Monthly Dislikes” post, but we shall see!

For now let me tell you about my empties from last month, there are quite a few.

  • Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel.

I’ve mentioned this before, if you would like to read more about it look here.

  • Palmolive Lavender & Chamomile Caring & Aromatic Hand Wash.

I somewhat enjoyed this hand wash but not enough that I would buy it again. It smelt really nice and due to the ingredients had a lovely relaxing scent to it afterwards. This left my hands feeling soft and clean but not as soft as other hand washes have in the past, which was a little disappointing. I wouldn’t buy this again however as whilst the scent was nice, it was also a little on the overpowering side. If you love lavender and camomile then you’ll love this!

  • Dolly’s Mixtures Shower Gel in Pina Colada.

I really enjoyed using this shower gel and for a £1 I’m pretty chuffed that I picked it up! These are from ASDA and come in variety of scents. They’re a strong scent and foam up beautifully when applied to a sponge. When I used this my skin felt lovely and soft, and smelt amazing! I love pina colada’s so anything that smells of it just makes me happy, as sad as that sounds. It just reminds me of summer evenings, last Christmas with my family, and how holidays should smell of. I will definitely pick up this scent again, but I would like to try one of the other scents first.

  • T-Zone Clear Pore Anti-Bacterial Cleanser.

This is a great and basic cleanser which only costs a couple of quid, if that! I’ve already spoken about this in the past so I’m going to leave that link here.

  • The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet.

I LOVE this moisturiser and I already have another pot of it which I’ve started to use! I’ve written a full review about this when I first bought it, which you can check out here. I’m really pleased that this lasted me three months, although I won’t lie, it has felt like a lot longer!

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Pearls.

These bath pearls really did remind me of my childhood. My Mom used to take me to The Body Shop once a month and treat me to a couple of shower gels and some bath pearls. I loved using them in the bath and how they would explode inside. I never saw them for years until now and what a let down these are! I only used a couple, the rest of the packet were used by my boyfriend, who loved them! But he’d never experience bath pearls as a kid, so the child in him loved these I reckon. These were good, don’t get me wrong. They release different scented oils which leave the skin feeling a little greasy and moisturised, but I just didn’t like them. The nostalgia just wasn’t there 100% and I was pretty gutted because of it. BUT for a £1, I can’t complain.

  • Wilko Fruits Bath Bomb in Blueberry & Grape and Lemon & Black Pepper.

I didn’t use these bath bombs, my boyfriend did but I just wanted to talk about these. I reviewed the Strawberry & Pomegranate bath bomb and it wasn’t the most positive of reviews. After using the bath bomb I was rather poorly and left with a urine infection and thrush. I do have sensitive skin, but I didn’t think that these would make me THAT ill! As my Mom bought me three of these bath bombs for £3 I had two left over to use up. My boyfriends been staying at mine the last couple of weeks in November and as he wanted a bath or two, I decided he might like to use these. He did! He doesn’t have sensitive skin like I do and therefore didn’t come across any issues. He said his skin felt soft and he did smell really nice after use. These two bath bombs smell amazing, much better than the Strawberry & Pomegranate one! I guess I just wish I could have used these myself, but alas I’m not risking getting ill again. It isn’t worth it. If you don’t suffer from sensitive skin, or want to get your boyfriend something nice for Christmas, definitely invest in these as they’re great for men and come in a variety of scents.

So that was my last empties post… Are you going to miss this series? If I get enough people saying they will, I may keep on doing it. I’m going to see how I feel.

What did you use up during November? Let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope December is going well for everyone so far.

December Empties

DSC_0286

The final empties post of 2013 is upon us and I’ve never had so many products used up before as I have done during December! I forgot I’d even used certain things up when I was looking through the bag to take pictures! I’m glad I’ve used quite a bit up, as it’s meant more room for new things that I received over Christmas.

So without further ado, let’s get on with this post!

DSC_0287

  • Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo in Citrus Fresh.

For 2014 I have decided to stop using Head & Shoulders and since I stopped using it during December, my hair has improved dramatically and I’m not wasting nearly £5 every two to three months buying the shampoo. My Dad and boyfriend still use it mind, so that’s fine with me. Even though I usually used the Sensitive one, I picked up the Citrus Fresh months ago to try out and it was really nice! It left my hair smelling fresh and like lemons and it obviously did a good job of cleaning my hair too. I don’t really miss using Head & Shoulders and I don’t think I’ll ever buy it again, as in reality this stuff is probably one of the worst things you could buy and use on your hair so for 2014 I’m steering clear of this!

  • Possibility Ultra Rich Shower Gel, Shampoo & Bubble Bath in Peppermint Ice Cream.

I rather like the Possibility shower gels, they remind me of a cheaper version of Philosophy and with all the talk going around blogs about Philosophy, Possibility is probably better for your skin too. This shower gel smelt just like mint ice cream, which I love! This is a multipurpose shower gel as you can use it on your hair and in the bath too! I often used this in the bath alongside a Lush bath bomb, I never used it on my hair as I didn’t feel the need to. As much as I loved this shower gel, I am glad to see it finished and in the bin as I just wasn’t enjoying using it as much as I had when I first bought it and to use it seemed more of a chore than a pleasure. I eventually used it up in the bath and that was that. This does leave your skin feeling soft and smelling sweet, but you would of course need to use a moisturiser alongside it. I would buy this again, but when that will be, I don’t know.

  • Sainsbury’s Extra Care Alcohol Free Mouthwash in Sensitive.

I love my mouthwash and I keep trying different ones to try and find a favourite, but as of yet I haven’t seemed to find it, although this mouthwash was really nice for the money! Please excuse the mold at the bottom of the bottom! It’s gross I know. >.< Anyhoo! This mouthwash was lovely because it didn’t feel like it was burning the inside of my mouth when I used it, which is always a bonus for me! My mouth felt squeaky clean whenever I used it and when I popped into Sainsbury’s to pick up another bottle, I was saddened to see that the shelf these were kept on was empty and I was forced to try another one, which wasn’t such a bad thing. I would buy this again, but I need to find it first! 😛

  • Dettol Honey Nourishing Hand Wash with E45.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hand wash and everything about it! I wrote quite a lot about it in my top 10 favourites from 2013 post yesterday, which you can check out here if you’re interested. I’m already low on  my second bottle of this and have bought a new one, ready for when the current one runs low! I’m so glad that Dettol and E45 teamed up to make this hand wash, it really has been something sent from heaven for my hands.

  • Royal Jelly Foam Bath.

I’m pretty sure this is from a gift set and I’m also pretty sure it was from Boots. One afternoon this suddenly turned up in my bathroom and I can only imagine my Mom put it in there for me to use. It smells really nice and reminds me of the Royal Jelly sets I used to buy my Mom as a child every Christmas, birthday and Mother’s Day. It’s not really something I would buy myself and people would know better than to gift this to me as I’m not the biggest fan of Royal Jelly, but this was really quite nice to use in the bath if I just wanted a quick soak. It left my skin feeling lovely and soft as well as leaving me smelling gorgeous too! I wouldn’t purchase this myself mind, it was a nice treat and that’s all it’ll ever be I think.

  • Palmolive Nourishing Delight with Honey & Moisturising Milk Shower Milk.

I cannot tell you how much I love this shower milk and how many years I have been using it on and off for! I first discovered this shower milk in 2004 when my family and I went on holiday. We took a huge bottle of this stuff with us to use and I fell in love with it! I remember running myself a bath and putting loads in, only to discover it was creating so many bubbles that there were more of those than of water! Since then I’ve purchased a couple of bottles but only during the summer did I pick up this little travel size. I bought loads of them to take with me to my boyfriends for whenever I stayed over, to save using his shower gel. But eventually I just started doing that and this got put in the back of my cupboard, which I delightfully discovered towards the end of December. This shower milk smells just like honey and cream, which is something I love the smell of, it’s also a very thick shower cream and a little really does go a long way! It leaves my skin feeling as soft as a babies bum and smells just as delicious on the skin as it does in the bottle. I was rather delighted to see that the morning I finished this sample tube off, was also the day my Mom bought a huge 750ml version of this and popped it on the bath for me! I haven’t been able to stop using it and it’ll probably end up on my January favourites list at this rate! I recommend everyone to try this, it’s a must have, especially for winter.

  • Sure Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant in Sensitive.

I love this deodorant and it’s another favourite that found its way onto my top 10 favourites list for 2013! You can read more about it on this post here but I shall talk a little about it here too. This lasted me quite a long time, probably 6 months or more as you only need a little bit and it goes a long way. Since using this deodorant I don’t have to worry about sweating so much so that means no worrying about sweat patches or about horrible B.O.! This isn’t cheap at over £5.00 but for how long it lasts, it’s well worth the money!

  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel.

I love this moisturising gel but sadly it finally came to the end of the tube and I was forced to throw it away, sad times, very sad times! For about two or three years all I used was Clinique but due to lack of funds right now, I can’t afford it and I’ve had to change down to somewhat cheaper brands, which appear to be working well for my skin! I loved this gel because it stopped my skin from feeling dry and not oily at the same time, which was lovely! Sadly this isn’t the cheapest moisturiser in the world and until I have a spare near £30 I won’t be able to buy a replacement tube. I recommend the gel to anyone who suffers from terribly dry skin but also suffers with oily skin too, so a definite must for people with combination skin.

  • Decleor Hydra Floral Light Cream.

At first I loved this moisturiser, but now I actually quite hate it and I’m glad to see it in the bin! My Mom gave this to me after I’d run out of moisturiser and was in desperate need of some more so she suggested I try this one. At first I loved it and it made my skin feel lovely and soft but after a while I grew to dislike using it, mostly for the strange consistency of the cream, which to me doesn’t feel light at all, plus I don’t like the smell of this all that much. Actually I wouldn’t say I hated this, as it did a good job as a moisturiser whilst I was at my boyfriends, but I am rather glad to see this in the bin. It isn’t a bad product, just not one for me!

  • Lush FUN in Pink.

I LOVE Lush’s FUN products and by the end of this year I want to have tried them all! I currently have a brand new bar of FUN Gold in my Lush box (yes, I have a box full of Lush products) that I dare not use incase I love it so much that by the time it’s finished I’ll need to cry due to wanting more. Okay, that was dramatic but I do love their FUN products because, they’re fun! They’re a multipurpose product which you can use as a shampoo, bubble bar, body wash and as it’s like Play-Doh, you can play with it in the bath, which makes this a great product for kids! Pink FUN smells has the exact same scent as Creamy Candy Bubble Bar and Rock Star Soap, which in turn are two of my favourite products from Lush! It smells like creamy vanilla with sweets and maybe some fruit in there too. It’s just so amazing to smell, it’s made my purple Liberty London bag smell amazing! I’ll be picking this up again from Lush, I’d be stupid not to.

  • Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks in Deep Sea Mud Pac and Chocolate Mud Pie.

I thought I would include these two together on the same point, seeing as they’re both by the same brand, but they both do different things to the skin, etc. The first one I will be talking about is the Deep Sea mask, which I tried for the first time with this sachet. I had always liked the look of it, shamefully due to the fact it was a blue mask, come on, who else isn’t drawn to blue things, huh?! So anyway I thought for 99p I would pick it up to try and I’m really glad I did as this mask was amazing! It smells just like a aftershave and contains seaweed and kelp to leave your skin feeling clean and free from stress. The dead sea minerals in the mask work deep into the pores to penetrate and draw any impurities out of the skin and since using this mask I have noticed the blackheads on my nose look smaller, which is great! I’ll definitely buy this mask again as it really did feel nice to use whilst I was in the bath. Finally we have Chocolate Mud Pie, which is an amazing chocolate face mask! As I mentioned in my top 10 favourites from 2013 (which you can read here) this was one of my favourite products from the year and here I shall explain why! This mask smells just like chocolate and is a very thick mask, which was a nice change. It contains cocoa and shea butter which are great for softening the skin. This left my skin feeling soft and smooth and my pores looked a little smaller too, which was great! For 90p this mask was well worth the money and since buying this one to try I’ve already bought another two, one which I will be using the night before my birthday to ensure my skin looks awesome for when my boyfriend and I go out to celebrate it. I’ve tried the Cupcake Face Mask by Lush and I really don’t rate it. My skin broke out after using it and I was tempted to put in a complaint, but alas I left it and dealt with it. If you have the same issues with Cupcake as I do, then try Montagne Jeunesse’s chocolate face mask, it’s amazing and will leave you face soft and smooth with zero break outs!

So those were my empties from December! There was a lot huh? It’s taken me two hours just to get this post written, but I was getting distracted whilst writing it up! Either way I’m glad I was able to use up so many products during December as it means I have room for all the new ones I received over Christmas.

What products did you use up over December? Let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all!tmbc5
