Holiday Wish List

It’s only a whole three months away now, which is going to FLASH BEFORE MY EYES! Legit it probably will flash before my eyes… 😛 I’m trying to keep myself on a spending ban until the holiday is over due to wanting to save money FOR the holiday. However I do want to pick up some new bits and pieces to take with me. You know the usual holiday stuff… Bikini, shorts, skirts, sandals… Etc etc etc!

I’m not going to lie, I was super excited to write this post for weeks after eyeing up LOADS of bikinis, but now the sales have hit so many of them have gone and I am GUTTED. This list isn’t going to be as big as I originally planned it to be… But oh well! 😛 I tried really hard to be honest to get a decent list together! Just goes to show I didn’t need as much as I thought I did. 😛

  • New Look Pool To Party Turquoise Sequin Wrap Front Bikini Top – ÂŁ14.99 (link)
  • New Look Pool To Party Turquoise Sequin Tie Side Bikini Bottoms – ÂŁ9.99 (link)

I  have had my eye on quite a few bikini sets from New Look so far this year, as I mentioned in my May wish list (which you can read here). That has sadly sold out online now due to it going in the sale, so it’s one I’ll have to keep my eye out for in stores. ANYWAY This bikini set is better in my opinion though to be honest as not only can you wear it by the pool but teamed up with a pair of shorts you could wear it out and about. I wouldn’t do this myself as I feel conscious about my stomach. BUT it just looks so pretty! I definitely want to get it for my holiday. It just looks so pretty for a summer holiday and has a mermaid look to it. As well as that I love the fastening across the back as it means you don’t have to piss around with tying two straps, just the one around the neck. I’ll definitely try and get this one instead of leaving it too late like the other. 😛

  • Vans X Peanuts Skates Crewneck Sweatshirt – ÂŁ55.00 (link)

This is definitely one of my favourite items on this list. I was actually going to add it to my July wish list but NAHHHHH I want it for holiday and to be honest it’s definitely an excuse to get it before I go, or at least try and find it for sale whilst I’m over in Fuerteventura. It’s a sweatshirt with loads of cute pictures of Snoopy on, as well as Woodstock. I’d rock this with jeans and shorts and probably wear it to death throughout the autumn and winter season. 😛

  • Iron Fist Deerly Dress – ÂŁ45.00 (currently in sale for ÂŁ26.99) – (link)

This is a dress I had my eye out for buying and wearing to a wedding, but I wasn’t able to go to that so I never ended up buying it. I love Iron Fist dresses, they’re amazing quality for the price and really comfortable to wear. I’ve taken and worn an Iron Fist dress on holiday before and it was perfect for evening wear as well as day wear due to the gorgeous red colour. As the name suggests it does have a deer theme to it, which is the print. There is the white spots you would find on a deer, as well as some little white skulls which I love, it really gives that Iron Fist feel to it.

  • Vans X Peanuts Slide-On Sandals – ÂŁ25.00 (link)

I have a love and hate relationship with sliders right now. They look awesome, especially these and even some holographic ones I’ve eyed up online. BUT SERIOUSLY what the fuck are these ugly fluffy sliders everyone is wearing right now? Can we burn them? 😛 But I have seen a few pairs I like the look for but the most tasteful ones I’ve found to date are these Vans X Peanuts collaboration ones! They’re black (tick!), they have Snoopy and Woodstock on (tick, tick!) and they’re Vans (TICK, TICK, TIIIICK!)! What more could I ask for? 😛 I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for them to go into the sale. 😉

  • New Look Pool To Party Turquoise Sequin Swimsuit – ÂŁ29.99 (link)

I am not a fan of wearing swimming costumes/swimsuits as I love tanning and wearing a swimsuit won’t help you tan! Well your legs and arms yeah, but sweet FA else. This however is something I would like to wear in the daytime and evening with a skirt or a pair of shorts to make an outfit. I wouldn’t want to pay the full price for it mind as I find it’s a bit expensive for what it is! It does look gorgeous though and honestly it just looks like a great piece of evening wear.

  • Killstar Dye Fast Woodstock Maxi Dress TIEDYE – ÂŁ44.99 (currently in sale for ÂŁ29.99) – (link)

I’ve had my eye on picking up another Killstar dress for ages but always left it due to saving money. I definitely want to get another one for the holiday and I’ve had my eye on the rainbow tie dye for ages! There’s two styles for this print, the maxi dress and the sun dress (which you can find here). I like both dresses for various reasons but I seem to be swaying towards the maxi dress more for various reasons. This would be lovely to wear more so in the evening when the sun is down than in the day. This is mostly due to the pentagram print on the back, I wouldn’t want that tanned into my back. 😛

  • Vans X Peanuts Riffs Dress – ÂŁ60.00 – (link)

This is the last item on this list and one I’m 50/50 about, mainly due to the price! I’ve wanted a denim dress for at least two years now but I can’t seem to find a decent one anywhere. They’re either too thin, too thick or don’t suit my shape. Of course this one may happen to have the same issues I’ve encountered before, but I just love how this has pictures of Snoopy all over. It’s just so different and something I wouldn’t mind grabbing for the holiday. It’s just so expensive sadly. 😦 Sooo we shall see!

That’s my holiday wish list! I know it’s nothing special, but I’m quite laid back with holidays, especially to Fuerteventura. 🙂

Do you have any shops I should check out for holiday pieces? Please share links in the comments down below or over on my Twitter account @maybeecoffee

Until next time take care all, I hope you had a lovely weekend!

2015 Movies I Can’t Wait To See!

This is a really spontaneous post but after having a nose on what is coming soon on my local cinemas website, I felt the urge to make this post… As well as a list for myself of what films are coming out that I want to see, and when.

I have five on this list, one that I have already watched online but am desperate to watch in the cinema. I’m not going to hang about when writing this post, I’m just going to dive straight in. I’ll post pictures of the posters for each film, as well as a trailer for it.

Inside Out – Release date for UK – 24th July 2015 Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

This is probably the highest film I wish to see on this list… But that being said, I’ve already seen it. Yes I did the naughty thing and watched this online as soon as I found a half decent copy. Although I have seen it mind, I want to watch it again, properly. It’s officially been out a couple of days in the UK and at the time of writing this I’ll either have been to see it the day it came out, or I’ll be off to see it next week at some point. I love Pixar, so this is a must have to watch in the cinema for me. As I write this post I’m currently watching it online and it’s just such an amazing film. I hope I could write a full review for it in the future, but she shall see! It’s just a typical Pixar film that makes you think, and will make you cry too.

Max – Release date for UK – 7th August 2015A precision-trained military dog, Max serves on the frontlines in Afghanistan alongside his handler, U.S. Marine Kyle Wincott. But when things go terribly wrong on manoeuvres, Kyle is mortally wounded and Max, traumatised by the loss of his best friend, is unable to remain in service. Shipped stateside, the only human he seems willing to connect with is Kyle’s teenage brother, Justin, so Max is adopted by Kyle’s family, essentially saving his life. But Justin has issues of his own, such as living up to his father’s expectations for him; he isn’t interested in taking responsibility for his brother’s troubled dog. However, Max may be Justin’s only chance to discover what really happened to his brother that day on the front, and with the help of a tough-talking young teen, Carmen, who has a way with dogs, Justin begins to appreciate his canine companion. Justin’s growing trust in Max helps the four-legged veteran revert back to his heroic self, and as the pair race against time to unravel the mystery, they find more excitement – and danger – than they bargained for. But they each might also find an unlikely new best friend…in each other.

This is one I have been looking at on and off the past few weeks. It’s not something I am super excited about, but it does look like a good cheesy movie to have a cry at. I thought my boyfriend would love the look of this due to the dog being a breed he wants, but alas he isn’t that fussed either. However if we want to go watch a film and can’t think of anything we wish to watch, I could imagine us going to see this. It just reminds me of Marley & Me, which ironically shares the same producer as Max does. I don’t know if this is based off of a book, but it just looks like a good tearjerker.

The Diary of a Teenager Girl – Release date for UK – 7th August 2015 A teenage girl begins a complex love affair with her mother’s boyfriend in this whimsical American indie drama. Minnie (Bel Powley) is a 15-year-old living with her mother in 1970’s San Francisco. With her sexuality blossoming, the teenage artist begins an affair with her mother’s boyfriend, Monroe (Alexander Skarsgard). Minnie’s mother, Charlotte (Kristen Wiig), meanwhile, is an ageing hippy, gleefully indulging in a hedonistic lifestyle with her wayward daughter. But despite all of Minnie’s misadventures, it’s the middle-aged Monroe she keeps coming back to… Adapted from an acclaimed graphic novel, this innovative indie drama bubbles with visual ingenuity and quirky characterisation. First time writer/director Marielle Heller’s movie about the hedonistic attitudes of the 1970s party scene has been wowing audiences in the States, with Indiewire calling the film “genuine, poignant and hilarious”.

Oh my, this definitely my sort of film! I love drama style films aimed towards young adults as these sorts of films are always ones I loved watching when I was younger and make me feel really nostalgic. This one is about a young girl who starts to think about sex and soon finds herself falling for her mother’s boyfriend, only to have sex with him (I think…) and she documents her experience with sex and how it makes her feel. It just looks like a great coming of age story and right up my street!

Absolutely Anything – Release date for UK 14th August 2015Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher, Neil Clarke (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challende bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by Cleese, Gillam, Jones, Palin and Idle), watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way. Mishap after mishap finally leadds him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed…should he choose the girl…or the dog…?

I totally forgot about this film until I found it on the coming soon page! This is a film I have been excited for since just after Robin Williams died. Not only does it star him (I think it’s his last film role…) voicing a dog, but it also stars Simon Pegg, who is one of my favourite actors. It’s one I know me and my boyfriend will go and watch as since the first trailer came out we loved the idea behind it, and especially Robin Williams’s amazing voice acting for the dog. I cannot wait for this to come out!

Paper Towns – Release date for UK – 21st August 2015Adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green (“The Fault in Our Stars”), PAPER TOWNS is a coming-of-age story centring on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbour Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears–leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship–and true love

This is a film I have been excited for since it was announced. I love John Green and after how well The Fault in Our Stars did in the cinema, I can only imagine this one will be as just a good a success! I haven’t read the book yet, but I hope to get it read in time to go and watch the film. If not then I won’t be so bothered to be honest and I can just read it when I’ve watched the movie. I won’t lie though, I’m not as hyped up for this movie as much as I was for The Fault in Our Stars… I don’t know if that’s because EVERYONE hyped up that movie. But to be honest, I’m super excited about Looking for Alaska being turned into a movie as that’s probably my favourite John Green book. I would like to go and watch this film with someone I know has read the book besides myself, but I can’t see this happening, sad to say.

Snoopy And Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie – Release date for UK – 25th December 2015Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state-of-the-art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle and flying ace embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.

I remember my boyfriend sending me a 30 second trailer for this film months and months ago, probably around Christmas last year and I was so excited! Every time we have been to our local cinema and seen adverts and posters for it, we’ve realised it’s out soon and get even more excited about seeing it. However only prior to writing this post did I actually look up a trailer or two for it. At first I was a tad meh about the trailer and film in general, not feeling it too much, but when I watched the trailer that I’ve here and I’ve safely fallen in love. Peanuts was a huge part of my childhood and Snoopy is a big love of mine, so this movie is definitely something I need to watch when it comes out. I’m unsure about the release date, considering that’s Christmas Day… But I can work with that if that is the case!

So those are the movies I am excited about for the rest of 2015! There will probably be some more that pop up but I’m just going by what I found on my local cinema website as I stated earlier on in this post. These are just the main ones I’m looking forward to this year.

So, what movies are you wanting to watch in 2015? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’ve had a great weekend.

OPI Peanuts Collection (For Halloween) – Review

Do you remember back in August when I wrote a post about this collection, and how excited I was for it? Well as you can see I FINALLY have my hands on the collection and since getting it I have loved it so much!

My Mom knew how much I wanted this set and on a shopping trip out she spotted it and picked it up for me, which I am quite pleased about as I didn’t even see it in the shop she bought it from! My Mom is so lovely when it comes to little things and since university started she has seen how stressed and tired I am lately, so her buying me this was just so sweet of her. What are Mom’s for though?

She didn’t tell me how much she paid for it but I’ve seen this for sale online for nearly ÂŁ12.00, which isn’t cheap but personally I feel it’s worth it, especially as I was planning to buy this next week after being paid but alas, I don’t have to now.

I knew I had my eye on two of the shades from this collection, those being the glitter polishes which are called Where’s My Blanket??? and To Be or Not To Beagle. When I was swatching these and taking pictures I was super excited about applying them to my nails as they’re such fun shades for Halloween, as well as autumn.

Also I want to just say how cute is this little picture on the box? As well as the cartoon on the left hand side of the front? I love the packaging for this and I won’t be throwing it away anytime soon!

As you can see you get your four nail polishes, all in 3.75ml – 1/8 Fl. Oz. which is the standard size for the 4 pack of nail polishes. BUT as well as your polishes you also get some nail art decals which are super cute and I WON’T be using them anytime soon. They’re too cute to use.

The names of the four shades (from L-R) are:

Good Grief! – The sunny yellow of Charlie Brown’s favourite t-shirt.

Where’s My Blanket??? – Linus awaits the Great Pumpkin in this orange and black glitter.

WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? – This stormy black is no match for Lucy’s raven hair.

And finally To Be or Not To Beagle – Snoopy’s happy-dance of colours in a joyful glitter.

I’ll go into further detail about each polish after each swatch!

Good Grief! Is a sunny yellow nail polish with a cream finish and really is bright! It reminds me of the sort of shade I would wear as a young teenager during the summer with glitter polish on top! This will work wonderfully with Where’s My Blanket??? applied on top for an autumn feel. I found when applying this it was a tad on the streaky side but I think that’s just a personal issue. I’ve painted my nails with two coats on these images. It’s a very pigmented colour and looks lovely! I won’t lie though, out of the four shades this is my least favourite and isn’t really a shade I would opt to wear on a day-to-day basis. I painted this on my toes when I first got the set and it looked like I had jaundice… Not a good look!

Where’s My Blanket??? Is a wonderful glitter polish with various different sizes of black glitter throughout, as well as bigger pieces of cream yellow and orange glitter too. This is a perfect glitter polish for autumn due to the yellow and orange glitter throughout and would look perfect over a light or dark cream brown shade and due to that I can see me wearing this a lot this autumn season. As well as that this will also work perfectly over the top of Good Grief and WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? which I can see me doing in the future. This is a really easy glitter polish to apply and it dried really quickly too! On my nails I painted two coats, although if I wanted more glitter pay off I could have painted another coat. I currently have this on my toes and it looks really pretty. This is definitely my second favourite in the set!

WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? This is the perfect black nail polish! It’s a gorgeous cream black with gel like shine and is probably one of the best black nail polishes I’ve ever had and trust me, I’ve had a lot! I grew up wearing nothing but nail polish from the age of 14 until about 21 and I really do miss wearing black nail polish. It’s such a bold shade that you can team anything with and this is no exception. I painted two coats of this on my nails and that was more than enough as this is such a strong and pigmented black. This will work wonders with both Where’s My Blanket??? and To Be or Not To Beagle painted over the top which I wanted to wear this week, but due to work it would be a bit much so sadly I just had to stick with one of the glitters. I can see me wearing this a lot over winter more than autumn as with glitter polishes over the top it will be wonderful! This is also my second favourite polish as it’s just such a wonderful black! Well done to OPI for this one.

To Be or Not To Beagle this is such a fun nail polish and I don’t think I have ever seen a glitter polish like it to date. It contains small and large pieces of black glitter, as well as strips of black glitter BUT it also contains large pieces of rainbow glitter which just makes me happy! This glitter is just like a punch in the face for how different it is from most glitter polishes out there and I already know I want a standard sized bottle of this. This is two coats on my nails and I could have carried on to make sure I had loads of glitter packed onto each nail but two seemed like a good number. This will work perfectly over the top of various coloured polishes but I think it would work nicely on top of both Good Grief! and WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? Most of all I really want to try this over a white cream or a nude nail polish as I think it would look so pretty, especially for winter. My favourite out of the collection by far and I have it on my nails right now. Oh by the way, I couldn’t pick two pictures for this polish as I just wanted to show off how many different colours are in the glitter!

My overall opinion of this collection? A lovely collection for Halloween, even though an orange polish would have worked better than a yellow… In my opinion anyway!

The glitter polishes work perfectly, especially Where’s My Blanket due to the orange and yellow glitter and it will definitely be my nail polish for autumn now.

I personally feel they could have done more with this collection but alas they have so many collections coming out at the moment that they probably didn’t want to go overboard, which is fine.

I was super excited for this collection and has it been worth the wait? HELL YEAH! I love the collection so much and for the rest of autumn I’m probably set now for when I fancy wearing something nice.

My favourite in the set is definitely To Be or Not To Beagle and my least favourite was Good Grief!

Was it worth the money my Mom paid? I would say so yes! If you know someone who loves Halloween and they also have a birthday in October or just after Halloween then this will be the perfect present for them I think Or even someone who loves Peanuts like I do. This is something special to add to my collection and it’ll be loved very much.

So, what do you think of the Peanuts Collection? Will you be buying it?

Hey maybe you already own it, if so which is your favourite shade?

Leave me your answers and any questions you have in the comments down below!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re all well

OPI Peanuts Collection For Halloween 2014

I can safely say I have never been so excited about any collection as I am about this one. Peanuts have teamed up with OPI to bring us this collection for Halloween 2014 and I am counting down the days for it to land in the UK.

As a child I watched Peanuts on and off and I have a fond memory of when I first discovered it. I was watching Mary Poppins with my Dad and accidentally changed the channel to an episode of Peanuts which my Dad changed back to Mary Poppins after discovering my error. I was somewhat gutted as Peanuts being a cartoon I began to enjoy the few minutes it was on for and ever since then I have loved that show.

Since this collection being revealed and posted about on pretty much every beauty blog out there, I’ve started to watch Peanuts episodes and films again, and realised how much I loved it as a kid. I love it so much I even have my little Snoopy dog who sits on my bed. He’s so snuggly, nice to cuddle when you crave one and no ones around.

ANYWAY back to the amazing nail polishes!

Peanuts by OPI brings to life Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip characters for Halloween 2014. Inspired by “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” the four new limited edition nail lacquer shades include seasonal yellow and black crèmes, as well as two black-based glitter hues.

“‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ is a classic, beloved film,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Brand Ambassador. “Peanuts by OPI celebrates the fun, youthful nature of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and Snoopy with four limited edition nail lacquer shades designed to capture the spirit of Halloween. With two crème and two glitter options, you can switch between a cheery yellow or chic black look, or try adding a layer of glitter for a unique finish.”

There are four polishes in the collection:

Good Grief – A bright yellow shade, the same as Charlie Brown’s t-shirt.

To Be or Not To Beagle – A glitter polish with pretty much every colour of the rainbow inside! OPI have said “Snoopy’s happy-dance of colours in a joyful glitter.”

Where’s My Blanket??? – Another glitter polish but this one has black and orange glitter running throughout, perfect for Halloween!

WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? – A black creme polish that is meant to signify Lucy’s black hair.

If you wish to see swatches of these there are actually quite a lot out there on the internet now, but here’s a couple I shall link you to:

beyondblush.com (WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? & To Be or Not To Beagle)

As well as buying these all in their full-sized individually you of course can but them in their mini forms in a gift box, which also comes with stick on nail decals too! I think these will be what I pick up, as let’s face it, I won’t use the full size polishes and if I really want to get one shade in the full size I already know it’ll be To Be or Not To Beagle.

These are said to come out in September, but seeing as they’re available over the pond already then I assume we won’t have to wait TOO much longer for them to arrive here.

I assume they’ll also be the same prices as usual ÂŁ11.95 for a full size bottle and about ÂŁ13.95 for the mini set.

I can’t wait for these to come out, soon as they do I’ll be buying them!

What do you think of this collection? Will you be buying?

Hope you enjoyed this post, until next time take care all!
