Things I’m Excited About EGX

Image taken from EGX Twitter @EGX

EGX is currently halfway through and I am so excited to say I’ll be there on Sunday for the first time ever! I’m pretty damn stoked to finally be attending EGX.

It was my best friends idea for us all to go (us two and our boyfriends) together for one day and we settled on Sunday.

For those of you who may not know what EGX is, it’s the UK’s biggest games event and it’s running from Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd September at the NEC Birmingham.

It’s only the UK’s biggest video games event! Come along and you’ll find the most anticipated console and PC games, all playable weeks or months before they’re released. We also have presentations by game designers from world renowned studios, areas dedicated to esports, the opportunity to meet and chat with game creators and loads more.

I’ve heard about it on and off over the years but never really been bothered about going and instead would book and go to Hyper Japan or Comic Con. After my friend suggested the idea though, I was down for that!

Since booking the tickets about a month ago now I’ve been checking up on their social media and website every other day for updates on what games are going to be there and each time I look there’s a better announcement! I honestly cannot wait for Sunday now.

So, I thought I would write a blog post about what I’m excited for at EGX and why! I might also get Dane to talk about some games he’s excited about too, because why not! ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m just going to jump straight into it and I’ll also include trailers for games too. This is going to be a long lists, so I apologise in advance for all the waffling I’ll be doing. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Kingdom Hearts III – Out 29/01/2019 on PlayStation 4

Although I’ve on and off played the first Kingdom Hearts game, I have always been intrigued by the game series and would love to finally get into it now the third one is finally coming out! My best friend Gabriella loves this series so even if I’m not all arsed about going to play it, I know she’ll want to play it! Even if I don’t give it a go, I’d love to watch her try the demo.

  • LEGO DC Super-Villains – Out 19/20/2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

I’ve actually already preordered this game as I just fancied getting it for me and Dane to play together on lazy evenings and weekends in. I can’t wait to be honest with you as I remember back to one of the first LEGO games, Batman where they allowed you to be the good guys AND the bad guys. I LOVED being the baddies so damn much and since then they haven’t seemed to do that again as well. So when this was announced I knew I had to get it. I’m unsure if I’ll play the demo for the game as before I know it I’ll have it, BUT if I find we’re bored and want something to do, I’d definitely go and give the demo a play!

  • Life is Strange 2 – Out 27/09/2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam

If there was a game I adored it was Life is Strange. It wasn’t particularly unique but it was definitely something different at the time and no one else was really doing it and if they were clearly not as well. The graphics and mouth work of the game is pretty poor, but the story really does make it worth it! Although this will be out less than a week after we attend EGX, I still wouldn’t mind giving the demo a go to see what the game play it like before I buy the game. The story seems to be completely different to the first game, but I hope that they include Max into this story somehow. I can’t wait for this come out, I’ll be buying it when it comes out.

  • Mario Tennis Aces – Out now on Nintendo Switch

This game is out now and has been for a while but EGX are giving people the chance to play it, which is pretty cool. I really want this game but 1. I don’t know if it’s worth the price and 2. I don’t know if I’ll actually enjoy it! I’d definitely like to give this a play whenever I get the chance to and if I enjoy it I’ll definitely want it more than ever! I wanted it to play alone, as well as with Dane but he isn’t as arsed about getting it as I am.

  • Persona 3: Dancing In Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight – Out 04/12/2018 on PlayStation 4

If there is a game series I fast fell in love with almost 2 years ago, it’s Persona and it’s all thanks to Persona 5. So when they announced the dance game for the fifth game I was so damn happy! I’ve finished Persona 5, and about halfway through (and severely fucking stuck!) on Persona 4: Golden. I also own the Persona 4 dance game and really enjoy it. I love the Phantom Thieves so I’m so excited to see more of them before they’re gone completely. Although I haven’t yet played Persona 3, I would still love to give the demo a play to see what it’s like. I’ll definitely be playing the Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight demo, no matter what. This is actually a game I haven’t preordered yet and it’s pretty much because Dane wants it as a possibly Christmas present idea. The cutie. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee and Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu – Out 16/11/2018 on Nintendo Switch

Oh man as soon as this game was announced and released for preorder I was on that ASAP! There were rumours that this game was going to be coming out on the Switch when leaks popped up all over the internet. I won’t lie, I thought it was bullshit and would just become another 3DS game or nothing at all. Alas, I was wrong and it was announced a mere few days later for the Switch. I’m stoked for this to be honest with you and I’ve ordered the Eevee version, of course with the PokeBall! I’m unsure if I want to try the demo of this or not. I really want to, especially if you can play with the PokeBall but at the same time I really want a surprise… I’m more than sure I’ll end up going to play it… Got to get my Pokemon fix a few months in advance. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy – Out 13/11/2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Oh man I have been so excited for this game since it was announced months ago! Of course I was gutted when it got pushed back, especially as I’d have been playing it right now! I’m not bothered loads about playing this at EGX BUT if I find I’m bored and want something to do, I’d definitely go and give this a play if I had the chance to.

  • Untitled Goose Game – Release date TBC but sometime in 2019 on Nintendo Switch and Steam

If there is a game I definitely want to have a go on, it’s this goose game! The release date hasn’t been announced yet but I’m hoping it’ll be sooner rather than later. This is such a fun looking game and I wish it was 2 player so you could be evil geese together. You play as an annoying goose who is terrorising and trolling people in a village. It appears that you do each part of the village in levels/stages and have to do certain tasks before you can move on. Overall it just looks like a really fun game and is definitely one I’ll be getting on the Switch in the future.

Now onto the indie games! I would do what I did previously with the other games and post videos and talk a little about them but there are so many games I’m interested in that sadly I won’t be able to do that as there are just too many. I will of course list them all down below! Whether or not I end up playing them all or not is another thing, but they’re definitely games I’ll be trying out! Anything that is bold are games I’m more interested in than others.

Alchemist Cutie

Bee Kind

Beyond Blue

Billie Bust Up

Catastronaughts

Doggo

Figment

Flashing Lights

Flotsam

Heaven’s Vault

Honey, I Joined A Cult

What The Golf?

Wrong World

Of course as well as playing games there will be plenty of opportunities to take photos at special stands and from what I’ve seen so far these include Kingdom Hearts, Fallout 76 and many more!

They also have merchandise stands and I know that Insert Coin Clothing will be there who I’m sure I’ve mentioned on my blog in the past. There will be more merchandise stands there who I’ll be checking out whenever I get the chance to.

Overall I think it’s going to be a super busy day and I don’t honestly know what to expect at this moment in time… After viewing Twitter the past couple of days the event seems super busy with nothing but queues, mostly at the bigger games such as Kingdom Hearts III and Pokemon Let’s Go!

I am to check out all the indie games first and then focus on the bigger games, as I can only imagine everyone will run to the bigger stuff first! Most of the games I’d want to play I’ve preordered and are out soon anyways. Indie games are always worth supporting and trying before buying.

Either way, I know I’ll have an amazing time and quite honestly I can’t wait!

I’ll pop all of the EGX links down below for anyone who may want to follow on social media, or even book tickets so you can come to the event yourselves!

September Wish List ’18

Yay for September! As I mentioned on my previous post, I love September and it’s by far my favourite month of the year. However, whilst I have some goodies on this wish list that I would LOVE to buy, I’m actually intending to go on a spending ban this month. Anything I buy will be because I NEED it and not because I WANT it.

This is because I plan to go to London to see my friend Sophi closer to Christmas and I need monies for that of course! ๐Ÿ˜€

So this is definitely a wish list and not a, “Fuck it! I’ll buy it!” I hope you like this wish list though. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • New Look Navy and Red Check Tapered Trousers – (link)

I honestly don’t need anymore of these trousers but these are pretty nice and I can always do with more trousers for work, especially as the weather is getting cooler now. Is it sad though that one of the reasons I want these is because they remind me of the ones that Joker wears in Persona 5? HA! ๐Ÿ˜› Yes I am a sad person. In all honesty though I love wearing these trousers for work and a recent pair I bought from New Look are so comfortable and definitely my favourites to wear.

  • Nintendo 3DS Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrith – (link)

I’m currently playing Persona 4: Golden and I LOVE that game! Although I don’t love the fact that my Phantom Thieves babies aren’t in it from Persona 5… Again, sad much?! Atlus recently announced that Persona Q2 would be coming out in Japan at the end of this year, so before we know it it’ll be out here in the UK too. I’ve been meaning to play the first Persona Q game but as of yet I haven’t. Soon as I’ve finished Persona 4: Golden, I’ll be buying this next! I’d love to get the actual game but it’s too expensive these days, especially when Nintendo eShop have it for the great price of ยฃ17.99. Whilst writing this blog post I’ve come down with a cold, so a part of me was so damn tempted to pick it up now, but meh I’ll be good. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Funko Pop! Vinyl Spyro The Dragon & Sparx – (link)

I didn’t know that this Pop was coming out until I was writing my 7 games I’m excited for post recently. I found it on the GAME website when I was looking at Spyro Reignited on there and now I want it so badly! I don’t even know where I would keep it in my house, but it just looks adorable. I’d probably end up keeping it in my manga cupboard, or even by mine and Dane’s computer. I doubt I’ll buy it, but it sure will go on a Christmas list. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Etsy TeanoSugar Persona 5 Joker Hard Enamel Pin – (link)

Urgh pin badges are kind of taking over my life and I am incredibly surprised that I haven’t ordered this yet… Again, I’m trying to be good! I have so many pin badges and sadly I can only wear one or two at a time. BUT this Joker pin badge is amazing and oh so perfect that eventually I will need it, no matter what! I’d wear this for work all the bloody time, as well as over the weekends on coats and hoodies. I would love to see Morgana and Ryuji made too and when I eventually order this pin, I’ll definitely ask the seller if they’ll be making anymore designs.

  • TeePublic Wezdesign Morgana Mona Persona 5 T-Shirt – (link)

Looking back at this wish list, I feel like half of it is Persona 5 related. Sorry guys that I’m a hardcore P5 fangirl! I could be worse. ๐Ÿ˜› I remember seeing this print/design on Redbubble ages ago but it suddenly vanished and I don’t know why. The same design is no on TeePublic and it’s pretty adorable! I need more Morgana t-shirts in my life and whilst I do like this on a t-shirt, I’d love to get it on a sweater a little bit more. I refuse to buy anymore though… Again, Christmas list. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Caring Bath Milk – (link)

This is the last item on this list and it’s definitely one I really wanted to buy at The Body Shop event I went to recently for Coventry bloggers. I thought I’d be good though but since then I’ve been thinking about it. I love a good bubble bath and since I’ve stopped buying Lush products I’m trying to find places that sell similar products for good prices. I am LOVING The Body Shop right now for bath related stuff! I recently tried one of their bath bombs and it was perfect, absolutely perfect. I really like the Almond Milk & Honey range and would love to give the bath milk a go, especially with winter coming up.

So there is my wish list for this month! I am planning not to buy anything from this list to be honest with you. I need to save my monies. ๐Ÿ˜›

What goodies do you have on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below!

Until next time though, take care guys and I hope you had an awesome weekend.

August Favourites ’18

YAY it is finally September, my favourite month of the year! I can’t wait to get started thinking about all the awesome things that are happening this month. I liked August, but it just lasted a little too long for my liking.

August was also an exciting month and I can’t wait to talk about both that as well as what this month brings in a post very soon.

For now though, it’s time to talk about my favourites from August and considering how much of a blur last month was, I worry I won’t even remember any of my favourites. ๐Ÿ˜›

Here goes, enjoy!

  • The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion.

I feel bad as I already know I’ll have two The Body Shop products mentioned on this post, but sod it! Clearly they’re doing something right. Anyway, after finishing off my L’Occitane foot cream I’ve now moved onto FINALLY using and finishing The Body Shop foot lotion. I really love this foot lotion and have done since I bought it many moons ago. It’s old, I know but it certainly still does the job. It’s got a lovely peppermint menthol scent to it and leaves my feet feeling cooled, smelling fresh and feeling smooth all day. I use this in the mornings before I head to work. You can still buy their cooling foot lotion, but it doesn’t seem to look the same as it used to. Mine is pink, whilst the newer version looks blue on the website. Either way, it’s amazing stuff!

  • Lime Crime Plushies in shade Gum Drop.

I’ve been so excited to mention on this product on my blog! I haven’t bought myself a lip product for absolute months now and in all honesty it’s due to how anxious I’ve been about wearing lipsticks. Not just that, but the effort of wearing it at work has also affected it. However, I really do miss wearing lipsticks and whilst I don’t wish to wear them everyday, I’d definitely like to wear them more often. I’ve had the shade Cherry Soda in my wish list folder for the longest time and decided to finally pick up that shade, as well as another. I’m so glad I opted on Gum Drop to be honest with you as out of the two, I feel like I’ve worn this one more. It’s such a me shade as it’s sheer berry shade and if there’s one shade I love, it’s berry. It reminds me a little of MAC Rebel, which is my favourite lipstick shade ever. I’ll be writing reviews on the Lime Crime Plushies soon, so keep eyes peeled for that!

  • Tesco Comfort Eye Drops.

This is such a random product to add to this list this month, BUT these eye drops were a life saver at the time of purchase. We’d headed to Coventry to see Dane’s parents for the afternoon, which was lovely but as we left and were on the way to theirs my one eye was incredibly dry and VERY sore. At one point I was even worried that I had an eye infection heading my way. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on eye drops but I needed something decent. These cost me less than ยฃ2.00 and they did such an amazing job. I don’t feel like they’ve done anything dramatic for my eyes, but they definitely make my eyes feel better, especially whenever hayfever was around in August! It’s made me realise that I need eye drops in my daily routine now.

  • The Body Shop Passionberry Lip Balm.

I picked this lip balm up a couple of months back, as whilst I don’t need anymore lip balms in my life, I always end up buying more. In all fairness I get through my Vaseline tins quite quickly, especially when I’m using them at work all day! Since my lips haven’t broken out and been gross and infected for almost a year now, I feel more comfortable with wearing coloured lip balms! I picked up two of these, but the one I was after the most was this purple shade in passionberry. Oh my it smells divine and is a really thick lip balm too. I feel like this really nourishes my lips and feels more like a gel butter instead of a balm. I also picked up strawberry, which is a gorgeous red shade. I know for a fact I’ll be wearing these loads throughout autumn and winter during work, as well as out on the go.

  • Lush Plum Rain Shower Gel.

I’ve only recently been using this shower gel after owning it for about 2 or 3 months! My manager actually bought it for me as a belated birthday present, which was incredibly sweet! I remember her saying, “I went in to get Snow Fairy as you said how much you love it. But seeing as they didn’t have that, I got this for you instead.” How cute is my manager?! This shower gel is one I wanted to try from Lush when it first came out. Although I probably won’t pick it up in the future, I am definitely loving using it! It’s a gorgeous dark purple colour (which is my favourite colour) and foams up so well from just a little bit of product. It also smells amazing, just like plums! It reminds me of Christmas to be honest and this is purely down to The Body Shop plum shower gel they had out for a few years.

So now my beauty favourites are done, time to talk about the miscellaneous favourites of the month!

Favourite TV Show – Attack on Titan Season 3.

I feel like I mentioned this recently… But in all honestly I don’t recall at all talking about season 3 of Attack on Titan! It’s been out for quite a few weeks now and me and Dane watch it every Sunday morning/afternoon on Crunchyroll. As each season has aired and played, the story has just gotten so much better. I am for sure loving season 3, as so much is coming out and it is AMAZING! Dane already knows what’s happening as he’s up to date with the manga. There have already been some awesome scenes and massive pieces of information coming out, especially in last weeks episode. However, I’m not going to talk about this here though so I don’t spoil anything for anyone. BUT if you have always wanted to watch Attack on Titan, I honestly tell you to go and do it and if you want a new manga to read, go and read the manga too. ๐Ÿ˜›

Favourite Film – A Quiet Place.

Me and Dane watched this recently over the August bank holiday and oh man I WISH so badly that we had gone to the cinema to watch it. It’s stars and is directed by John Kransinski and his co star Emily Blunt is also his wife! I learnt this whilst watching it, which was pretty awesome. It’s basically about some alien style creaters that come to earth and if you make a sound the aliens will hear you and kill you. The film is CONSTANTLY on the go and keeping you on the edge of your seat. Me and Dane felt so tense throughout the movie in our living room, so God knows how we’d have felt if we were in the cinema! We didn’t buy this, we rented it but I would have happilly paid for this, it’s such a great film. I heard a few days after watching this that they’re already planning for a second one, which I’ll definitely go and see in the cinema.

Favourite Book – Persona 4.

I saw my best friend Gabriella for her birthday in August and we had such a lovely girly day together! I had her birthday presents with me and she had my belated birthday presents with her! She bought me an amazing Persona 5 Morgana t-shirt as well as Persona 4 Vol. 1 manga! I’ve been meaning to pick it up for ages now but just not got around to it just yet. I’ve already read it and I loved it so much, far more than Persona 3! Persona 3 Vol. 1 before the shit out of me, but Persona 4 has left me wanting more and I can’t wait to pick up the next one(s) already. Such an amazing present, thanks again Gab! ๐Ÿ˜€

Favourite Song/Album/Artist – Radio Bam and Hoobastank – The Reason.

So I’ve popped Radio Bam on here this month as I’ve been doing nothing but listening to full Radio Bam episodes most of this month. On and off over the past 10 years I’ve been listening to Radio Bam and I always end up stop listening as I just get bored of it, or I just can’t be arsed with it. Thanks to YouTube and someone uploading all the episodes to their channel and playlist I can keep up with what episodes I’ve listening to. I also love listening to Radio Bam whilst I do blog work, get ready in the morning before work and when I wine down in the evenings. I wish I could get the episodes on my phone or iPod so I can listen to the podcasts on my way to and from work.

Alongside Radio Bam I decided to add Hoobastank – The Reason as I forgot about this song existing! I remember when it came out in 2004. I would have been 14 when this came out and DEEP in my skater phase, with my emo one just around the corner. I remember it would come on KERRANG! all the time, both the radio as well as the music channel and I didn’t really like it much as the video confused the hell out of me. It randomly popped up on my recommendations recently on YouTube and I gave it a listen. Now I’m in love with it and intrigued to check out the rest of Hoobastank’s music.

Favourite Game – Viscera Cleanup.

Over the bank holiday in August me and Dane ended up buying this game and played it together on the Sunday and Monday and it was so much fun. I understand why it got so much hype when it first came out and even now! Basically some weird murder sprees have occured in work style places and it’s your job to clean up all the blood, guts, body parts, etc. We’ve played a couple of levels but the one that broke us both was the Christmas one where Father Christmas has gone on a mass murder of all his elves and reindeer. The funniest part was we would find TNT all over the place and it would constantly blow us up without even realising. It was hilarious and crazy all at the same time. I definitely recommend you watch people play it if your PC or laptop isn’t powerful enough to play it. Oh man, it’s hilarious!

Wow this post feels like it took forever and to be fair it really did… But I have a reason why!

I might have bought myself a new laptop to be honest with you… ๐Ÿ˜› So my day was starting this post, stopping to look at laptops, ordering the laptop to pick up, going to pay and pick it up, setting it up at home, having dinner and FINALLY finishing off this post!

If I get the chance too I’ll definitely talk more about my laptop in the future. I just wanted something new and lighter. I’m already so happy with my decision to buy this and the past 10 months of saving for this has been totally worth it!

Anyway, what were your favourites from August? Make sure to let me know in the comments down below.

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!

April Wish List ’18

Easter has come and gone and I hope you had an amazing Easter with your family and friends! Me and Dane had a lovely long weekend together, that was very much needed after he’s been away from work.

I cannot believe it’s now April and this month I’m hoping will FINALLY be the first time this year that we don’t have any bloody snow. I am officially ready for spring.

It’s also Dane’s birthday this month, so whilst I have my wish list post with plenty of goodies on, I need to pick up Dane’s birthday presents all the same.

Let’s not waste too much time, on with the wish list (which sadly isn’t anything special this month)!

  • Nintendo 3DS Style Boutique 3: Styling Star – (link)

I recently picked up a new 2DS for myself and oh man I love it! I can’t wait to talk about it on my blog soon to be honest with you. ANYWAY I noticed recently that Nintendo have brought out a new Style Boutique game and since the first one back in 2010, I’ve played all of them to date. I really want to get this one soon after recently playing the demo. They’re just so relaxing to play and not the hardest in the world either.

  • ย Official Nintendo 3DS XL Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth Travel Case – (link)

As I just mentioned above, with buying myself a new 2DS I need a new case to keep it in. I’m loving this limited edition Persona Q one and I REALLY want it! It’s not cheap though sadly and that puts me off sadly. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I’m going to see how I feel when I’m paid. I’ve had a search around for one similar if not the same one at a cheaper price, but sadly I’ve had no luck.

  • Pokemon Center Original OTEIRE Please Memo stand clip Pikachu mini figure – (link)

This is something I was hoping to pick up around my birthday, but left it. I still want it to be honest with you. Now I’m feeling settled at work I would love to have a little picture of me and Dane on my desk. Not a normal one, but one of our commissioned pieces of us, specifically the one we had drawn at Hyper Japan. It’s our favourite and to look at it on a daily basis during my shift would cheer me up, even more so on a cute Pikachu picture stand.

  • Nichijou Manga Volume 5 and Volume 6 – (link) and (link)

As I’ve said previously, I always like to order at least one manga to read in the month. I don’t know if I will order any this month as I want to catch up on manga I currently own. I also plan to order Dane loads of manga for his birthday so… ANYWAY! I started reading Nichijou at the start of 2017 as I received some of the volumes for Christmas 2016. I also received some for Christmas/my birthday just gone and it’s time for me to continue reading it. I can’t just keep waiting for Christmas and birthdays to read it. ๐Ÿ˜› They’re not expensive really and there’s only 10 volumes at the moment so before I know it I’d have them all. We shall see though.

  • Nintendo 3DS Detective Pikachu – (link)

The final item on this months wish list is yet another 3DS game. I remember hearing about this coming out and was super excited, especially with recent news out about Ryan Reynolds voicing Detective Pikachu in the movie that is being made. SO when I heard the Pikachu’s voice in the trailer for the game… I was extremely disappointed and put off buying it. However, I keep seeing trailers on my Facebook as well as having a look at YouTube myself for videos of game play and I rather like the look of it… I can ignore the voice of Pikachu and how brash it sounds. I’ve wanted to play games like this for ages, so maybe this one can be a first insight into games like this, eh?

Well, those are all the items I have on my wish list. I couldn’t really think of what I wanted to add here this month as I need to be good to be honest. We shall see what happens, but I don’t think I’ll be buying myself lovely things, it’ll be Dane being spoilt in April!

What items are on your wish lists this month? Make sure to let me know in the comments!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you had a lovely time off for Easter!

My Boxing Day Sales Buys

Christmas and New Year have both now come and gone and with that shops everywhere held their Boxing Day sales and now their January sales! I am now officially skint until next pay day and this isn’t just due to sales shopping, it’s due to bills AKA adulting. ๐Ÿ˜›

On Christmas Day and Boxing Day however, I did pick up a few little bits as I’d been after them for ages! I also picked up some goodies on my birthday when me and Dane went to town for the day. Like my what I got for Christmas post (which you can read here) I thought I’d show off what I managed to pick up in the sales too!

I hope you enjoy this post, I love nosing at what bargains people pick up!

The first things I picked up in the sales and these were both WELL BEFORE Christmas was two games!

The first one being Sims 4 Cats & Dogs on the PC. Me and Dane love playing Sims 4 and like in reality, we were craving a puppy/dog for our family to play with! So we decided to get one and although I haven’t had chance to play loads with the game, we have our puppy and we love it! The editing system for the game with the pets is amazing and I cannot wait to play more of it. The game should have cost ยฃ34.00 but I picked it up for ยฃ24.49. Not cheap, no but it’ll bring hours of game play for us both!

The second game I bought was one I actually asked for for Christmas and have been eagerly waiting for to see in the sales for quite some time, that being Persona 4: Dancing All Night on my PS Vita. It originally costs ยฃ34.99 but I snapped it up for just ยฃ6.49!!! I’m so chuffed I got it so cheap and was playing it Christmas Eve. My only issue with it so far is that the story mode has more story than actual game play, which is sort of annoying… I want to get my dance on! As well, not long after I bought this Atlus announced a dance game for both Persona 3 and Persona 5!!! AHHHH!!!! I cannot wait, I already apologise in advance for all the Persona spam I will be throwing around my blog this year.

The first thing I ordered in the sale was this oversized Kurt Cobain sweatshirt, which I’ve been lusting after since I first saw it in Fuerteventura back in September/October. Time and time again I’ve gone to order it, but always changed my mind last minute. Well, I’m glad I waited as I really did get this for a bargain! Originally ยฃ29.99, I got it for ยฃ12.99 and now it’s sold out! ๐Ÿ˜€ As readers of my blog will know, I’m a massive Nirvana fan so this is a must have item for me. It’s more of a casual dress so I’ll wear this with thick tights or leggings. Maybe even some mermaid print leggings. ๐Ÿ˜› I think the one I was sent is a bit of a dodgy piece though, as I’ve shown in the pictures the print hasn’t been put on the front properly. My only concern is there isn’t any care instruction tag inside and I’m sure by law they’re supposed to have one? To be honestย  I don’t care though considering how much I paid, but I would be pissed of I’d have paid the full price for it!

The second thing I picked up is another dress and again, one I’d been lusting after a while both for work and for casual weekend wear! This is another thing I’d wondered whether to order or not as the price dropped but then stayed that way for ages. It still hasn’t changed to be honest at the time of writing this, but when I got a special Boxing Day voucher, it saved me ยฃ6.60! Originally the dress was ยฃ41.99, went down to ยฃ32.99 and I picked it up for ยฃ26.39! BARGAIN! I worried about the sizing and went for the size which I thought would be for the best and it does fit really nice… BUT 1. It’s rather short which I think will be a worry when wearing it around the office and 2. With a normal bra on it doesn’t look quite right due to the fishnet showing everything off. With a bra it’s so comfortable to wear but I can’t go braless! I’d feel naked without wearing one! We shall see how it works out. ๐Ÿ˜›

This is actually something Dane ordered for me as part of my birthday present, but considering it was in the sale, I thought I’d give it a mention. It’s a Yankee Candle and it’s a Christmas one, Macaron Treats. My friend Sophie bought me a little jar of this last year for Christmas/my birthday and we only recently finished it. This was a bit of a surprise to me and it’s nice that he ordered it for me. On Boxing Day I did actually pop into my local Boots to have a nose at what I could pick up and they had a couple of these left. I didn’t buy one though as we have enough Yankee Candles to last us years! Alas, if Dane wants to buy me a Yankee Candle though, I wouldn’t say no. ๐Ÿ˜› This was originally ยฃ23.99 and Dane snagged it for ยฃ11.99! Boots did good with their Yankee Candle prices this year, considering Yankee Candle are charging the same price for a medium jar, this one he bought is a large jar!

Finally we have my last Boxing Day sale purchases and I’m surprised I managed to get them really. As many people will know Lush didn’t have an online sale this Boxing Day and I for one was gutted and pissed off (if you would like me to do a massive rant on my thoughts on Lush lately, let me know!!!) about that. When Dane asked if I wanted to go sales shopping the day after Boxing Day, I jumped at the chance! It wasn’t the first shop we ventured into but Lush was definitely a shop I wanted to look in. They hardly had any Christmas stock left apart from some naked body lotions, naked lip products and finally Santa’s Christmas shower creams, which is what I picked up. This was one of the items I was really hoping they’d have left as it was the number one thing I wanted to try this Christmas! I’d smelt it in stores weeks prior and fell in love, but resisted the urge to buy it due to the upcoming sales. I’m glad I waited now as I picked up 2 for the price of one! These weren’t cheap either at ยฃ17.95 a bottle so I’m glad I got them half price instead.

It’s been 2 weeks since I actually drafted this post and since then I have picked up a couple more sales items, which isn’t anything special but I felt like it deserved to be added here!

I was after some new bras and on my birthday me and Dane popped into town for the day for a look around the shops and for some food. One of the first shops we went into was Victoria’s Secret and I’m so glad I did as I managed to pick up not 1, not 2 but 3 bras and all for ยฃ14.00 each! I tried them all on too to make sure they fit okay and they were perfect. I can’t wait to wear them now to be honest, I’ve missed wearing a good fitting bra. ๐Ÿ˜›

Overall I am really happy with my sales goodies and I’m also glad I was good and only bought a handful of items. I looked loads online and found shit loads of stuff I wanted to buy, but left it as I either wasn’t sure, had stuff similar or the main factor, I wanted to save my money.

If there is anything I regret not getting it’s a Pandora ring I saw in the sale, but it sold out so fast I never stood a chance.

What did you guys pick up in the sales? Make sure to let me know in the comments and link me to blog posts!

Until next time, take care all and I hope you’re having an awesome New Year so far! ๐Ÿ˜€

Fuerteventura Favourites

This is going to be like a monthly favourites style post, but instead 2 weeks worth of favourite items and from the island! As well as that it’ll be a mixture of beauty and lifestyle related items that I loved using and enjoying whilst I was away.

I would have included these on my October Favourites post at the start of next month, but I already know for a fact that I’ll have loads of things on that list already and these wouldn’t even get a look in!

A couple of these items have been left in Fuerteventura so due to that I’ve had to use stock images to show off what they are.

Let’s get on with the favourites though, starting with beauty!

Beauty

  • Babaria Foot Cream.

My feet really were bad when we were on holiday and they usually are to be perfectly honest due to how dry my skin is as well as how the sea and sand were drying out my feet too. This foot cream said to apply it both day and night, so I applied it before I went to bed and first thing when I woke up. It helped in a short matter of time and I guess I’m just gutted I couldn’t bring itย  back with me, especially with how good it worked on my feet! This being said when I was looking for a picture of the product to put on here I delightfully found out that Amazon UK sell this! So I may pick one up when I’ve used my Body Shop Intensive Foot Rescue.

  • L’Oreal Hair Expertise Sleek Smooth Intense Shampoo.

This is the shampoo I always use when I got to Fuerteventura and it really did work wonders for my hair whilst I was there. It made it feel so light and moisturised. I loved it so much I had a search for it when I got home to buy and thankfully I found it in Superdrug! I haven’t used it here yet, but a part of me can’t wait to, as sad as that sounds. I’ve been using sulphate free shampoo for about a year now and it really has improved my hair, I’ll never got back to normal shampoo now!

  • Skinnydip X Carmex Cherry Lip Balm.

I picked this lip balm up the day before we went on holiday as whilst I have Vaseline, that doesn’t contain any SPF. I wanted to make sure to pick up one that did so I grabbed this whilst in Superdrug. I love Carmex, especially the cherry flavour and this contains SPF 15 too which is perfect! I used this constantly on holiday, both day and night. I did find however in the day time that this would sting the part above my top lip in the day time, which makes me wonder if it’s due to the sun being really hot and 15 not being a high enough number. I didn’t burn though, so who knows! I’m still using this now we’re back and I still love it just as much!

  • Essence Out Of Space Nail Polish in shade Intergalactic Adventure.

I picked up this nail polish the day before we went on holiday and although it’s just a bog standard nail polish but it’s so pretty and for the price it’s a complete bargain! I remember when higher brands such as OPI and Nails Inc brought out polishes like this for five times the price! I painted my nails with it before we went and wore it a couple of times whilst we were there. It was especially lovely to wear when swimming in the pool. I want to pick up more of the shades from the collection!

  • Barry M Matte Me Up Metallic Lip Kit in Avant Garde.

This is another product I picked up before the holiday and it was my most worn lipstick throughout the holiday. I only wore it in the evenings of course as this is such a dark colour! It’s not at all a holiday type shade, at least not one you associate with holidays anyway. It’s a dark purple shade and the metallic in it shifts the purple to a slight gold colour. Due to it being part of a kit you also get the lip liner, which is amazing too! I’ll be reviewing this really soon on my blog and I cannot wait! This is a gorgeous shade for autumn and winter, especially teamed up with a mustard jumper or dress.

Games

  • Miitopia.

The night before we went on holiday I ended up downloading the demo of this to see if it was worth the fuss it was getting. That and it’s meant to be like Tomodachi Life, which both me and Dane love! I fell in love with the demo and downloaded it as soon as possible! It was ready in time for the day of our flight and I played it loads on the plane, as well as pretty much most mornings and/or evenings in the house. Dane loved the look of it so much that he bought it whilst we was on holiday to play with me. Sadly neither of us have played it since we’ve been back, but I’m sure we’ll pick it up soon.

  • Pokemon Silver.

Oh all the nostalgic feels this game brings me! I loved the first gen of Pokemon, but gen two holds more of a place in my heart, so when I heard Nintendo were bringing this out on the 3DS I was beyond excited! I pre-ordered it the day before we went on holiday and downloaded it ready to play the day it came out, two days after we arrived. I played it loads the one day and since then I’ve picked it up once. This is mainly due to playing loads of Miitopia! I’ll be playing it more now as I really want to play it and complete it to the level my original Game Boy Color game was at.

  • Persona 4 Golden.

This is a game that I didn’t start playing until the day we came home. We flew with Monarch… Do I need to say anymore? ๐Ÿ˜› We were in the airport for 7 hours so I needed something to do! I got my PS Vita out and played this for about an hour and played it for half of the flight home. Since then I’ve picked it up a couple of times to play and I’m really enjoying it! I still haven’t finished Persona 5 though, so I won’t invest loads of time into this until Persona 5 is finished.

Book

  • Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella.

If I’ve really enjoyed reading a book in such a long time, it was most definitely this one! I’ve wanted it since Sophie Kinsella released it and it was better than I thought it was going to be. It’s about Audrey and how she suffers with anxiety disorders due to something that happened at school. It’s really well written and clearly researched before writing about. As usual Sophie Kinsella writes her characters so realistic that I want to be their best friends. If you haven’t read it yet and love young adult mental health related novels, please do!

Music

  • Dai Numo – Suited album.

Oh man I LOVE this album so much I can’t even put into words how much I love it to be honest! It was the perfect album to play whilst in the pool, driving around the island and on the flight there and back. My favourite track is One Digit, which is how I discovered Dai Numo in the first place! I’ve linked where to get his album under the picture of it, but I’ll also link where you can listen to his music on Soundcloud here. Other than this album we didn’t really listen to much whilst we were on holiday.

Food & Drink

  • Nescafe Frappelatte.

These are a real treat whenever I go to Fuerteventura and I just wish so much that we could get them here! They’re really thick coffee milkshakes that are made in a machine just like a Slush Puppy. They’re not expensive and you can get all sorts of different toppings such as cream, chocolate sauce, ice cream and even a Kit Kat. I wish I’d been naughty and drank more of these whilst we were away, but we had one as a treat whenever we’d been swimming at the beach or out for the day. It’s a lovely treat to have, like a Slush Puppy I guess. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • Fanta/Clipper Fresa.

I don’t quite understand why we don’t have strawberry Fanta in the UK because it’s bloody amazing! I gave Clipper a go too as they did a zero version. I didn’t drink loads of this (I’ve definitely drank more in the past!) but it was so refreshing to drink and incredibly yummy. It was just nice to have on the balcony in the day time and as a drink to pick up and have whilst down at the beach or out on a walk. We really need this in the UK though, only through Five Guys at stupid prices is lame.

  • Nutella B-Ready.

These ARE in the UK and they’re fucking beautiful! I didn’t realise we could get these at home, but on the night we arrived we popped to the shops and picked a box up. I popped them in the fridge so that the chocolate inside would go hard and it was really nice done like that. These were a night treat in the day time after going for a swim in the pool and in the evenings if we fancied something sweet! Since we’ve been home we’ve bought a box of them from Asda, but they aren’t exactly cheap. Tesco have them on offer right now so me and Dane intend to buy LOADS! ๐Ÿ˜› I’ve been eating them in the mornings before work to give me a little something for the day.

So those are my favourites from Fuerteventura, but in reality everything was my favourite thing there. ๐Ÿ˜›
